The Johari Window model describes human interaction and personal awareness through a four-paneled "window." It was created by Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham to divide a person's self-knowledge into four quadrants: open, hidden, blind, and unknown. The open area contains traits known to both the person and others. The blind area contains traits known to others but not the person. The hidden area contains traits known to the person but not others. The unknown area contains traits unknown to both. The dividing lines between the areas can change as interaction progresses.
