Optical Network Proposal
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 OVERVIEW AND MOTIVATION
The great growth in user s demand for bandwidth due to today s network applications stir the
competition between network carriers. FSAN began studies to access needs in late 2010, they
concluded that there is a great gap between user needs and the bandwidth offered by the 10 gbps
capable Passive Optical Network (10G PON known as XGPON) technologies. A system proposal for
Next Generation Passive Optical Network (NG PON2) stage 2 was commenced in 2011. Among other
solutions Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network (TWDM PON)
technology was recommended at the April 2012 meeting as a primary solution to design and
implement NG PON2 [1]. This network design achieves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the distribution fiber (DF), each output port of RN1 goes to a different remote node 2 (RN2)
which includes a power splitter (PS), and then each output port of the PS is connected to a different
ONU by the last mile fiber (LMF). According to the RN1 configuration, we have three variants of a
TWDM PON architecture: a) Wavelength Selected TWDM PON with PSs at the RN1; b) Wavelength
Split TWDM PON with arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) at the RN1; and c) Wavelength Switched
TWDM PON with wavelength selective switches (WSSs) at the RN1. The wavelength selected
TWDM PON is a fully flexible solution as the PS at RN1 broadcasts all wavelengths to all users, but
has a high insertion loss and poor security due to the use of only PSs. The wavelength split TWDM
PON has a fixed wavelength allocation and thus will not be able to serve flexibility advantages.
However, paper [4] shows that the full flexibility is not always required and a partial flexible solution
can already give several advantages of flexibility. Overcoming the drawbacks of both wavelength
selected and wavelength split, paper [5] proposed such a partially flexible solution with a WSS in
RN1, which we refer as the wavelength switched TWDM PON.
To address some of the challenges related to the future high capacity transport networks, a particular
communication system should mainly focus on three major areas (i.e., impact of traffic locality on the
network infrastructure, cost versus reliability of future

Spotlight Research Paper
Spotlight would be an Android and iOS mobile phone app that students can go into to report and
check on the availability of parking on campus. The home page would be a menu where you can select
the parking lot you want to check. They would go by alphabetical order of the names of the parking
lots (Brindle, Campus Safety, Gloucester, Hawthorne, Kennedy, Solar, Standish, Stoneridge, and
Overflow). Once the parking lot is selected, there will be a sliding bar ranging from green to red that
shows how many spots are available in that lot (green is a lot and red is not a lot).
The user of the app can also check the availability of any of the parking spaces on campus and then
find the best lot that has an open parking spot. Also when they are driving by other lots, if they notice
something different or see an empty spot, they can update the report after finding a spot and turning
their car off. The user also has the ability to allow the application access to his/her current location, in
order to get immediate updates as soon as he/she arrives on campus. These notifications can be
through text banners, but also through audio notifications as well. With this feature the user can get
audio updates without having to look down at their phone while they are driving. ... Show more

The future of crowdsourcing is in mobile apps. It is because they are much more convenient than
desktop websites and can be very easy to use. Spotlight will be both of those. The home menu and
navigation throughout the app will be very straightforward and user friendly to assure that everyone
can use it without any issues. This app is using crowdsourcing because it depends on the accurate and
often updates from the crowd to work efficiently. If there is minimal reporting, the checking will
become inaccurate and therefore users will stop using the

carnapping incident and merely relied on the communication to her by Parlade in the morning. With
the foregoing, Aguirre could not solely base the accusation by mere suppositions and presumptions in
order to incriminate Takad.
II. CREDIBILITY OF THE EYEWITNESSES
First. Zenny, on her testimony, stated that she knew of the incident when Parlade told her about it at
7:00 in the morning while Parlade alledged that after he ran to chase the tricycle which was then
driven by the carnapper and he failed to catch up with it, he and Zenny looked for the tricycle the
whole night.
Second. The tricycle was stolen in the early morning of November 21, and Parlade gave his statement
to the police in the afternoon of the same day as supported by his affidavit which was timed 1:30pm.
Third. Parlade said he was 5 meters away and so somewhat near from the tricycle when it was stolen
which was against his sworn statement wherein he stated medyo malayo . And when he shouted, the
carnapper looked back but suddenly started the motor. From that Parlade said he recognized the
carnapper whose purpose was to flee and so merely glanced back. This was incoherent with his
testimony in the witness stand that the man looked backed at him in the terms medyo matagal po .

Essay On The Spanish Colonies In The American Colonies
The Spanish, French, and English all established major settlements in North America in the sixteenth
and seventeenth centuries. In each colony, settlement revolved around different types of trade:
plantations and mining in New Spain, the fur trade in New France, and tobacco and the family farm in
British North America. There were many similarities among these countries approaches to settling, but
also enormous differences. New Spain The Spanish were the first European country to establish
significant colonies in the Americas. By the 1570s, the Spanish had established roughly 200 cities and
towns in the New World. They had also built many cathedrals, as well as the first universities in the
Americas. New Spain refers to Spanish colonies in North and Central America and the Caribbean. At
its height in 1795, New Spain included Mexico, Panama, several Caribbean islands, and most of the
United States west of the Mississippi River. In these territories, the Spanish started large projects to
get all available resources. Throughout the sixteenth century, the Spanish established sugar plantations
in the Americas. The Spanish considered using Native Americans as their labor force but, eventually
relied on slavery. Though American Indians were utilized in the Mexican gold mines, European
diseases had decimated the American Indian population, and the Spanish considered Native Americans
too savage to be good workers. The Spanish set up a bureaucracy to govern the large population of

Application And Utility Of Database Management Systems
Roger K. Doost, (2002) The need for change in the way we teach accounting information systems ,
Managerial Auditing Journal, Vol. 17 Iss: 5, pp.277 282
The article, The need for change in the way we teach accounting information systems , by Roger K.
Doost, seeks to address the issues of how teachers and Universities are behind the power curve when
it comes to teaching the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) course. He argues that lectures out of
the textbook will no longer be beneficial if instructors do not include hands on training going forward.
The emphasis on database and database management should be supplemented with relevant software
and teaching material to make the course more meaningful and the efforts more fruitful . (Doost,
2002). This article is to illustrate how the incorporation of Microsoft Access into the AIS course
provides an excellent demonstration into application and utility of database management systems. In
the introductory section of this article, Doost elaborates on the many reasons why some of his fellow
colleagues are having a rather difficult time teaching the AIS course effectively. He stated that in the
past, Universities employed professors based on their interest in the course or having experience in the
AIS field. With that being said, some professors can teach a course outside of their professional fields
of study. The ideal professor to teach this subject matter is one who has adequate graduate work in the
areas of both

Internet Dangers
As advancements in technology continue to exceed expectations, the internet starts to present itself
more as a reliable tool than a technological breakthrough. With every passing year, people take for
granted what a powerful asset the internet can truly be. However, common sense would suggest that,
every powerful tool comes with a significant risk. The risk takes the form of every lewd, violent, and
undesirable website which exists in the vast network of information. Some possess knowledge
extensive enough to avoid these dangerous sites, but those who are young and blissfully ignorant of
the unseen nature of the internet cannot possibly be expected to avoid these dangers on their own.
Therefore, in order to protect the minds, hearts, and futures of the younger generation, precautionary
measures should be taken to prevent children from accessing or stumbling upon sites which, by no
means, should ever be seen by children.
It is said that over 30 percent of all data transferred across the internet is pornography (Kleinman,
2017). With much of this content being easy to access and free to view, it comes as no surprise that
numerous children find themselve viewing explicit content. A study was done that shows up to fifteen
percent of all 12 17 year olds view pornography through online sources or other means, this includes
unwanted exposure. The study also states that 70 percent of 15 17 year old internet users report
stumbling upon pornography quite often. Teens who have had

The International Human Rights Regime Has Its Weaknesses...
Ram Chadha
HR Final Exam
The question that states that the international human rights regime does not have a hard enforcement
mechanism and until there are serious consequences to violations, states won t comply with human
rights is a topic I happen to disagree with. I realize the international human rights regime has its
weaknesses and flaws. However, these weaknesses are due to inescapable aspects of our disordered
global society, especially the principle of state sovereignty. At the end of World War II there was a
change in the internationals view towards human rights. In spite of the large human cost of their
failings, these enforcement mechanisms are fit for a purpose and that the strongest enforcement
mechanism is simply the fact that human rights are codified in international law. When discussing the
topic of compliance and legal strength of human rights instruments and tools, we are talking about
nation states. To support my claims we can look at the UN Charter based enforcement mechanisms.
There are two types of these instruments: declarations and conventions. Declarations are not legally
binding but do have political impact. Conventions are legally binding under international law. Both
declarations and conventions can become expected international law over time, which makes them
universally legally binding. A further characteristic is made between mechanisms for human rights
protection. They are known as global and regional. The legal instruments

Advantages And Disadvantages To Traditional Database...
Advantages of Database Management System:
The DBMS has a number of advantages as compared to traditional computer file processing approach.
The DBA must keep in mind these benefits or capabilities during designing databases, coordinating
and monitoring the DBMS.
The major advantages of DBMS are described below.
1. Controlling Data Redundancy:
In non database systems (traditional computer file processing), each application program has its own
files. In this case, the duplicated copies of the same data are created at many places. In DBMS, all the
data of an organization is integrated into a single database. The data is recorded at only one place in
the database and it is not duplicated. For example, the dean s faculty file and the faculty payroll file
contain several items that are identical. When they are converted into database, the data is ... Show

In DBMS, database and application programs are separated from each other. The DBMS sits in
between them. You can easily change the structure of database without modifying the application
program. For example you can modify the size or data type of a data items (fields of a database table).
http://www.basicsofcomputer.com/figure_processing.JPG On the other hand, in computer file based
system, the structure of data items are built into the individual application programs. Thus the data is
dependent on the data file and vice versa.
15. Advanced Capabilities:
DBMS also provides advance capabilities for online access and reporting of data through Internet.
Today, most of the database systems are online. The database technology is used in conjunction with
Internet technology to access data on the web servers.
Disadvantages of Database Management System (DBMS):
Although there are many advantages but the DBMS may also have some minor disadvantages. These

Immigration Policies Of The 1920s
The 1890s to the 1920s was the first time that the federal government was taking a real stand and
control over immigration policies. It also saw the two greatest waves of immigration in the country s
history. War, poverty, political turmoil, social upheaval, food shortages, lack of available jobs and
more prompted people from foreign countries to move to the United States because it was the land of
dreams and prosperity. After the depression of the 1890s immigration jumped from 3.5 million to 9
million in a ten year period. By 1900, New York City had as many Irish residents as Dublin and more
Italians than any city outside Rome and more Poles than any city except Warsaw. It had more Jews
than any other city in the world, as well as large amount of Slavs, Lithuanians, Chinese, and
Scandinavians (Collier). The government began to limit these new immigrants. From 1882 until 1943
most Chinese immigrants were barred from entering the United States under the Chinese Exclusion
Act, the nation s first law to ban immigration by race or nationality. In 1892, Ellis Island was opened
in New York evaluate immigrants before allowing them to enter the United States. On the West Coast,
Angel Island, a similar immigrant station opened near San Francisco. World economies slowed and
other problems occurred that caused people to become desperate for work and a fresh start.
Immigrants entering the U.S. that couldn t afford first or second class passage came through the

The Injuries Of The Knee Joint
The knee joint is one of many synovial joints within the human body. It is the largest joint in the body
and is known as a ginglymus, or hinge, joint involving the articulation of the femur and the tibia. A
hinge joint is a joint between two or more articulating bones, moving in only one plane. The
movements that occur at the knee are flexion and extension. The knee joint is a modified hinge joint,
therefore as well as allowing the movements of flexion and extension; the movements of internal
rotation and external rotation are possible. The knee joint has six degrees of freedom, moving in all
three planes: the frontal plane, the sagittal plane and the transverse plane. Internal rotation and
external rotation of the knee move about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ligaments are connective tissues with the function of joining articulating bones at joints, in this case,
the femur and tibia. Fibroblasts are the cells that make up the ligaments, which are made up of
between 70% and 80% collagen. The high level of collagen gives the ligament tissue high tensile
strength. The flexibility of the ligaments comes from the elastin fibers that are in the extracellular
matrix, which counters the solid nature of the bone (Prater A.M., 2010). The ligaments of the knee
assist in controlling the movements that occur at the joint.
The collateral ligaments are positioned on each side of the joint (the medial collateral ligament on the
medial side and the lateral collateral ligament on the lateral side).
The cruciate ligaments are found deep within the knee joint. The anterior cruciate ligament attaches to
the medial and anterior aspect of the tibial plateau and on the lateral femoral condyle. The posterior
cruciate ligament attaches to the posterior aspect of the tibial plateau and the medial femoral condyle
(Johns Hopkins Sports Medicine). The names of the cruciate ligaments arise from their nature of
crossing over each other between each of their attachments and from the position of their tibial
attachments. (Palastanga Soames, 2012).
The interaction of the ACL and PCL at varying degrees of flexion accounts for some of the dynamic
stability of the knee joint (Chhabra et al. C.

Benefits Of Electronic Medical Record
Introduction
There are many benefits of using electronic medical record (EMR). This paper will discuss the
benefits of electronic medical record for the physicians, patients, and the healthcare organizations.
Benefits of EMR for Physicians There are so many benefits for physicians to use electronic medical
record, for example, they can eliminate a tremendous amount of paperwork since most of their
charting is done on the computer. Another advantage of using electronic medical record is the fact that
it allows for easy transfer of data or information to other departments or medical providers. This
ability of the electronic medical record helps to eliminate errors, it also less time consuming and it
prevents physicians and patients from repeating the same test. It also helps to prevent patients from
over exposing their body to unnecessary radiation. It is also important to note that healthcare
insurance is also enjoying this feature of the electronic medical record since they are saving money
whereby they will not have to pay for duplicate testing. The electronic medical record being able to
transfer patients data and information from one provider to the next is important since it allows
collaborations among various departments and healthcare facilities, also, physicians do not have to
worry about paperwork being misplaced or misfiled. Most patients find themselves at some time or
another gone to another healthcare facility that is not affiliated with their current

History Of Hopi Indian Potters Essay
History Of Hopi Indian Potters
Contact zones were described in Mary Louise Pratt s article Arts of the Contact Zone as being those
points in time in which different cultural groups came together. Positive influences between the groups
lead to knowledge and understanding, whereas negative influences lead to conflict and
miscomprehension. The history of the Hopi Indians is intertwined with the various contact zones
between the Hopi Indians and other cultural groups. It is this series of contact zone experiences that
has shaped the development of Hopi pottery.
The history of Hopi pottery begins with the history of the Native American Hopi Indians and the many
peoples that came into contact with their culture and traditions. ... Show more content on

The positive influence of their Anasazi predecessors continued well into the 1200 s for the Hopi
Indians. The Great Drought of 1276 through 1299, though, brought great changes in the making of
Hopi pottery (Bartlett 4). Orange and yellow pottery came into existence as wood used for the firing
technique was abandoned for the coal fuel found in abundance on the three mesas. Coal became the
principal fuel for cooking and heating, as well as for the firing of the Hopi pottery. The Anasazi
influence, along with the use of coal, transformed the pottery color and design into what has now been
named the Sikyatki Polychrome style of Hopi pottery.
The Sikyatki style of Hopi pottery was the introduction of artistic quality to the yellow pottery of the
Anasazi period. From 1400 1600 A.D., the Sikyatki Polychrome style was described as flamboyance
of decoration on the yellow pottery now being made (Bartlett 6). The geometric designs of the Anasazi
period were abandoned for the Sikyatki use of life form designs and nature designs. These included
mammals, birds, reptiles, as well as rain clouds, stars, and sun symbols.
The most dramatic turn in the history of the Hopi Indians came with the direct influence by the contact

Reconstruction And The Rights Of Former Slaves. In The

The act also gave the federal government the power to step in if any states attempted to intrude on the
African Americans rights. By the 1870s the Civil rights Act in full force and the African American had
gained the right to vote, right to get married, equal protection under the law, the right to own land and
a right to an education. The former slaves had come along way but things were not as great as they
may seem. In many ways, the former slaves were still controlled by the white southerners. Many of
the African Americans struggled to find work outside of working on plantations which left them with
little money and without money life was difficult. The white southerners could go around the laws
made by the Federal government and still for the most part control the African American southerners.
A quote from our book, We are sheep in the midst of wolves stood out to me as a very accurate

Sensorineural Hearing Loss In Young Children
One example of our hearing being affected is by noise. Everyday we live our life with many different
noises coming from all over the place.Hearing loss from noise can happen to anybody at any age.
Close to 24% of American adults from ages 20 60 have shown hearing loss from one or both ears
during hearing test due to loud noises. As this starts to happen you may realize your hearing becoming
more muffled. Getting older doesn t come easy when it comes to your hearing. You can t hear as well
as you could when you were younger and that s because your ears are slowly getting destroyed. As
you are getting older you may start to notice Sensorineural Hearing Loss. Sensorineural Hearing Loss
is when you start to notice problems with your hearing and this is due to problems in your inner ear.

Seventy one percent of people eighteen and younger who took the survey most likely defined it as the
ability to get something without stealing it. I use the word in the context it is used in today. I was
surprised by how widely spread the current use of the word is. I always thought it was just slang and
not many people knew it but due to how widespread it is used in the media, it is a well known term.
The word finesse is also popular in the music and film industry. There is a song titled Break Em by the
Savages that was written in 2016. The girl group Savages are often associated with feminism. They
use music to show how women are superior to men. The singer uses this song to imply that it is easy
to get money from a guy by what they say is called finessing him. The song says Swagg Jazz known
for Finessin. ( Savages Break em. ) The song later defines this term by stating If yeen coming with no
cash, All I wanted was the change ( Savages Break em. ) She is implying that she used the guy only
for his money. She didn t steal it from him but she used her ability to finesse money from him. The
song uses several lines that mean almost the same. Break em is a term used in the song that doesn t
serve as its literal meaning. Break em is similar to finesse. It means to get something from a person

Odysseus As The Guest In Homer s Odyssey
Winnifred Odysseus as The Guest The Odyssey, in essence, is a tale of Journeying. After Odysseus
has endured countless near death experiences, he lands in the land of the Phoenicians. We follow
Odysseus and his crew as he recounts his laborious journey from war and violence, to home; his wife
and son. We are forced to understand the importance of each of Odysseus s trials, from the battle with
the Ciconians, to the underworld, to his seven year stay with the witch goddess, Circe, and finally to
match his own wife s suitors at his home in Ithaca. Odysseus wanderings are equally as important as
the stops between. The relevance and importance of Odysseus courage and cunning in each of his
trials and journeys ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Odysseus meets Nausicaa, the Phoenician princess, he is completely without. He approaches
her completely naked, and begs her for assistance. Upon impact, she is willing to provide him with
everything he needs, now he seems like a god who rules the skies up there! Ah, if only a man like that
were called my husband, lived right here, pleased to stay forever ...Enough. Give the stranger food and
drink, my girls. (101) This final act of hospitality is what sends Odysseus homebound. He has earned
his Kleos and the privilege of being recognized as a Hero, but finds himself at the mercy of a
hospitable princess in a foreign land. Without the Phoenicians and without Xenia, Odysseus is still a
man lost at sea. Once Odysseus finds himself in front of King Alcinous and Queen Arete, he begins
the story of travels and Recounts on the times when Xenia was not present. Most notably of these is
undoubtedly his encounter with the son of Poseidon,

How Has Volleyball Changed Over The Years
Volleyball has been played for many years by many people. The sport was invented in 1895 by
William G. Morgan. To emphasize, the sports of basketball, baseball, tennis, and hand ball. The first
game of volleyball was played at Springfield College on July 7th, 1896. As a result, volleyball is
played by over 50 million people each year in over 60 countries. The game was first called
Mintonette, but was soon changed to volleyball. For example, the players seemed to be volleying the
ball back and forth over the net. All in all, the sport has had a tremendous outcome in the way it has
been played for many years (History of Volleyball).
Women s uniforms have not changed as much as the sport has. In the 70 s women s volleyball
uniforms were form fitting but not tight. For example, they wore mid length shorts and form fitting
shirts. The uniforms soon transferred in to what was called bun huggers . In addition, they resembled a
bikini brief that were a higher cut and allowed for full range of motion. The spandex that are worn
today are chosen for comfort and practicality. As a result, this allows for freedom of motion ... Show

Influence Of Christianity On Dantes Inferno
In the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, there is an apparent use of an engaging number of literary
devices throughout his entire story. This enriching quality in Dante s writing is a major part of why his
stories became so influential in history, even in to today s society. His writing also had a major
influence on the religion of Christianity, specifically the Catholic Church. At the same time,
Christianity had major inspiration on his writing. His use of spiritual allusions is filled from the
beginning to the end of the comedy, ranging from biblical to mythological references. The biblical
influence in the Divine Comedy goes into the very structure of the story. This allegory is the journey
of Dante and his guides toward the soul of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One could argue that the idea of hell alone could be a Christian ideal, but this idea belongs to many
other religions and is far too broad. Dante describes the inferno as having nine different circles, each
with a different level of punishment. The nine different circles do not pertain to Christian literature,
however, Luke 12:47 48 does suggest there are different types of punishment. When Virgil and Dante
are about to set their quest into the inferno, he tells Dante that he will see and hear the screams of
people in their second death. This idea of a second death comes from Revelations 21.8 when it is
explained that the the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which
burneth with fire and brimstone (Rev 21:8, KJV). These are the people that inhabit the inferno,
derived from Christian judgement and approved by Dante s hell. There are also many biblical
characters mentioned while Virgil explains Dante s upcoming quest. Dante mentions the successors of
the Apostle Peter (Inferno Canto II 24), St. Paul and his venture into heaven (2 Corinthians 12.2 4,
KJV), and of A gracious lady, who sits in heaven grieving, also known as the Virgin Mary (Inferno
Canto II 93). Other characters are also addressed such as when Virgil and Dante are approaching the
City of Dis when they see, more than a thousand fiendish angels (Inferno Canto VIII 83). These angels
are the rebel angels that were cast out of heaven and hurled to the earth (Rev 12:9, KJV) along with
Satan in Revelation 12.9. Towards the end of their journey in the inferno, far across the ice, Virgil and
Dante see the massive figure of Lucifer. In the bible, Lucifer, also known as the light bearer, was the
most beautiful of angels before he rebelled against god. He was then renamed Satan, even though he is

Analysis Of The Play Othello
The play Othello , by William Shakespeare and film adaption by Oliver parker explores the idea of
how an individual s sense of identity affects their actions and how this can be manipulated to create
conflict. Shakespeare uses techniques such as soliloquies, dramatic irony, imagery, foreshadowing,
and symbolism to show us how tragedy occurs from counteracting to patriarchal rules and stereotypes.
Identity is a very key, important thematic issue in William Shakespeare s tragic play, Othello . Identity,
or what may be better explained as a character s public perception, is highly valued in the Elizabethan
Age in which Othello is set. There is a varying range between the characters in the extent that how
they are perceived in public is not how they behave in private or how they really are, thus creating
more than one identity per character. A character s identity is the overall essence of that character,
however, in plays such as Shakespeare s there must always be an element of tragic flaw to the play
thus creating conflict. The definition for conflict is a state of open, often prolonged fighting; a battle or
war. Opposition between characters or forces in a work of drama or fiction, especially opposition that
motivates or shapes the action of the plot. There are many ways in which this definition is represented
in Othello . The main conflicts in Othello are between friends and foes, Othello s inner conflict, and
cultural and racial differences, which lead to

The Social Contract Theory Of Society
The social contract theory is the view that in order to form a stable society, a contract or agreement
must made implementing the people s ethical and political obligations . Before this theory people
lived in the state of nature meaning, there was no government and no laws were enforced to control
their community . Everyone did what they wanted freely. Although freely may sound like a good
thing; when someone committed, what we call in today s society, a crime, they received no
punishment for it back then . The Social Contract was a way for people to organize their own
government and assemble laws that had to be followed by everyone. Doing so, allowed people to find
understanding in how administration and authority works, and allowed ... Show more content on

As time went on a theorist arose, a man named John Locke. Along with him having a different
perception of the social contract theory compared to Thomas Hobbes, he also had a different view on
what the state of nature was. Locke was actually the most influential theorist to the founding fathers,
specifically Thomas Jefferson . The third theorist was John Rawls. Rawls name for his theory of the
social contract was actually often called the A Theory of Justice . These three theorists of the Social
Contract have strong beliefs about how a government should work and what concepts are most
important, as well as I do. I ve proposed a Social Contract that s based on different views and different
philosophical justifications from these three theorists. My social contract is based on a very thoughtful
and intellectual idea of fariness and equality among our nation. Before societies came into existence
people lived an ordinary life. Everyone went through accomplishments and tragedies, as we do now.
However, people didn t have laws implemented to protect them from any type of crime. Regulations
weren t put into action to eliminate the taking advantage of lower class citizens. I ve based my Social
Contract off of the issue of crime and people in higher ranking taking advantage of others below them.
My social contract is an agreement between the people and those holding specific positions in the
government, where the main focus is equality and fairness being present between

Comparing Romeo And Juliet And A Midsummer Night s Dream
Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night s Dream are both based on the same tragedy
of Pyramus and Thisbe which explains why they are very much alike. Although Romeo and Juliet is a
tragedy and A Midsummer Night s Dream is a comedy, these two plays share many similarities such
as the theme of power and control. Shakespeare develops the theme of power and control likewise in
both Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night s Dream by displaying the character s oblivion to the
amount of power they obtain. In both Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night s Dream the parents
force arranged marriages on their daughters thinking their girls will be docile. In Romeo and Juliet,
Juliet s father forces Juliet to marry Paris even though she loves Romeo and begs her father not to.

In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet create several plans in order to try to be with each other but
each step they took led closer and closer to their death. The fearful passage of their death marked love

never run away from their fate. In A Midsummer Night s Dream the fairies had complete power over
all the other characters. In your waking shall be shown/ Jack shall have Jill/Nought shall go ill/The
man shall have his mare again, and all shall be/ well (Act 3; Sc 2;Lines 489 493). Lysander and
Hermia plan to run away thinking they had the power to keep their love safe but Oberon and Robin

Nevada Essay
In population Nevada is one of the smallest states of the fifty states in the Union, but it invites and
receives more intense national publicity than many others. It is a testing ground for unorthodox social
theories and an outpost of solid American conservatism (313). Because the state is so large and its
centers of population is so widely scattered, no single generalization about it will suffice for a
historical summary. Nevada, with its 110,000 square miles, would cover more than half of Spain.
Nevada is not the largest state in the Union, but it is big enough to inspire awe in its visitors (2). About
86 percent of the land in Nevada was still under the control of the federal government as the year 2000

The Helldorado Parade was established in Las Vegas in 1935, and defined Las Vegas as a Western
town. Participants dressed up as cowboys and marched up downtown streets to large crowds. After the

opened as the first large hotel downtown. The hotel Last Frontier opened on the strip in 1942, and in
1946, the Golden Nugget opened downtown. The one big casino to the Western motif was Benjamin
Siegel s The Flamingo which opened in 1946. Siegel was a mobster with ties to the Chicago and
California networks, envisioned a jewel in the desert. The Flamingo was not a success and was
temporarily closed. It then re opened and had a diverse theme oriented style in the hotel casino
industry in Las Vegas. With the Corporate Gaming Act of 1969, Las Vegas began a slow transition
towards respectability. Gambling in Las Vegas was gaining in popularity in the 1950 s and 1960 s, but
the mob presence itself was preventing Las Vegas from attracting the necessary outside funds to turn it
into a dominant Metropolis (204). Nevada seemed to be shedding this image in favor of the many new
family oriented theme resorts that were being built, especially in Las Vegas (204). Then there s The

major benefit of CPT the gains are noticeable in a very short period. The rapid response to treatment is

Essay on Physics of Soccer
Physics of Soccer
I. Introduction
Soccer is a sport that s very challenging and during the course of this semester I ve found physics can
also be described as challenging. As far as I was concerned soccer and physics were both challenging
and that was all they had in common, consequently upon researching them both this semester I found
that I was wrong. For me this was nothing new because I ve found that physics isn t a subject that can
be skimmed, but rather it has to be studied to the finest detail. Those small details if missed can make
all your efforts worthless. Or on the positive side understanding those details can make your efforts
worth it in the end. And in soccer if you understand the physics, which to most players ... Show more

Defensively in soccer speed is sometimes slowed down and skilled footwork may be needed. How a
player uses speed or velocity depends on the situation, but if just one isn t done skillfully a player may
not end up making the play as planned.
III. Distance
The distance that you are able to kick the ball can be summed up with the equation for distance, d=RT,
distance equals rate multiplied by the time. So speed and time are both very important when kicking
the ball because it directly affects the distance. Soccer players vary the distances that they want to kick
the ball. Skilled players can estimate very quickly how fast to make the ball move to make it go where
they need it to. Before learning this equation in physics I just thought you kicked the ball, but now I
know that when this equation is applied to soccer it means so much more. Soccer players can use this
to help them judge how hard and fast they need to be able to kick the ball to make it go a certain
distance. This is just another example of how physics, the small details, can be used to improve ones
soccer skills.
IV. Momentum
Momentum can be defined as the product of the inertial mass and the velocity, p=mv (Kirkpatrick,
106). When relating this equation to soccer it can be directly interchanged with the mass of the player
and their speed/direction. So a player must be not only quick, but have the mass to gain the
momentum needed. When the

This can explain some of the characteristic which differ with the Canadian health program. In another
hand, Canada offer Health Care services totally free for any citizen without problem. Everyone is
covered automatically at the moment of birth. The Canadian Health care program offer not limit in
services, it offer to everyone and you keep for lifetime. This give to the Canadian, the freedom to
select any doctor and any hospital. It is why the level of death is lower, in comparison with the United
State when come to this matter. In Canada the services, medication and hospital fee are controlled by
the government, this created a better outcome for the security of the citizen. This regulation can lead
to major saving in term of the GDP per capita paid by the government in this regard. The government
negotiates drug prices so by doing that prices are more affordable for the people. It s not necessary the
uses of co pays and deductible, but if any type of charged for any reason this can still be a dissent

Comparison Of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory
Everyone grows up with their favorite childhood movies. Whether born in the 1970s or the 2000s, you
were able to enjoy Roald Dahl s, Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. Dahl originally wrote the book in
1964, which sold over twenty million copies worldwide. With such huge success with his book he
wrote the 1971 screenplay as well. The 1971 screenplay was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,
as it focused more on the Charlie s life than Willy Wonka, but the film used Willy Wonka for the title
because Quaker Oats was financing the movie and wanted to release their Wonka bars at the same
time as the movie (Paur). Shortly after the 1971 film was released, Dahl revised his book and re

thick like real melted chocolate instead of a water mixture. The film also used real lollipops in the

The White Heron Symbolism
The White Heron Literary Analysis How can a meager walk in the woods make for an engaging story?
Well, in The White Heron, the author Sarah Orne Jewett, uses colors, metaphorical application of
animals, and a theme questioning if humans can coexist with nature to bring us closer to our main
character and her internal dilemma throughout the story. In the story, colors are used not only to add
detail to the forest and world, but are also used to pour symbolism into standard objects. When a
moving squirrel is described as red amongst dark branches and the green leaves, we can imagine both
the actual scene and metaphorical representation of our heroine, Sylvia, rushing across her forest. One
of the big examples of color occurs before the

  • 2. Optical Network Proposal CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 OVERVIEW AND MOTIVATION The great growth in user s demand for bandwidth due to today s network applications stir the competition between network carriers. FSAN began studies to access needs in late 2010, they concluded that there is a great gap between user needs and the bandwidth offered by the 10 gbps capable Passive Optical Network (10G PON known as XGPON) technologies. A system proposal for Next Generation Passive Optical Network (NG PON2) stage 2 was commenced in 2011. Among other solutions Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network (TWDM PON) technology was recommended at the April 2012 meeting as a primary solution to design and implement NG PON2 [1]. This network design achieves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the distribution fiber (DF), each output port of RN1 goes to a different remote node 2 (RN2) which includes a power splitter (PS), and then each output port of the PS is connected to a different ONU by the last mile fiber (LMF). According to the RN1 configuration, we have three variants of a TWDM PON architecture: a) Wavelength Selected TWDM PON with PSs at the RN1; b) Wavelength Split TWDM PON with arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) at the RN1; and c) Wavelength Switched TWDM PON with wavelength selective switches (WSSs) at the RN1. The wavelength selected TWDM PON is a fully flexible solution as the PS at RN1 broadcasts all wavelengths to all users, but has a high insertion loss and poor security due to the use of only PSs. The wavelength split TWDM PON has a fixed wavelength allocation and thus will not be able to serve flexibility advantages. However, paper [4] shows that the full flexibility is not always required and a partial flexible solution can already give several advantages of flexibility. Overcoming the drawbacks of both wavelength selected and wavelength split, paper [5] proposed such a partially flexible solution with a WSS in RN1, which we refer as the wavelength switched TWDM PON. To address some of the challenges related to the future high capacity transport networks, a particular communication system should mainly focus on three major areas (i.e., impact of traffic locality on the network infrastructure, cost versus reliability of future ... • 3. Spotlight Research Paper Spotlight would be an Android and iOS mobile phone app that students can go into to report and check on the availability of parking on campus. The home page would be a menu where you can select the parking lot you want to check. They would go by alphabetical order of the names of the parking lots (Brindle, Campus Safety, Gloucester, Hawthorne, Kennedy, Solar, Standish, Stoneridge, and Overflow). Once the parking lot is selected, there will be a sliding bar ranging from green to red that shows how many spots are available in that lot (green is a lot and red is not a lot). The user of the app can also check the availability of any of the parking spaces on campus and then find the best lot that has an open parking spot. Also when they are driving by other lots, if they notice something different or see an empty spot, they can update the report after finding a spot and turning their car off. The user also has the ability to allow the application access to his/her current location, in order to get immediate updates as soon as he/she arrives on campus. These notifications can be through text banners, but also through audio notifications as well. With this feature the user can get audio updates without having to look down at their phone while they are driving. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Essay On The Spanish Colonies In The American Colonies The Spanish, French, and English all established major settlements in North America in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. In each colony, settlement revolved around different types of trade: plantations and mining in New Spain, the fur trade in New France, and tobacco and the family farm in British North America. There were many similarities among these countries approaches to settling, but also enormous differences. New Spain The Spanish were the first European country to establish significant colonies in the Americas. By the 1570s, the Spanish had established roughly 200 cities and towns in the New World. They had also built many cathedrals, as well as the first universities in the Americas. New Spain refers to Spanish colonies in North and Central America and the Caribbean. At its height in 1795, New Spain included Mexico, Panama, several Caribbean islands, and most of the United States west of the Mississippi River. In these territories, the Spanish started large projects to get all available resources. Throughout the sixteenth century, the Spanish established sugar plantations in the Americas. The Spanish considered using Native Americans as their labor force but, eventually relied on slavery. Though American Indians were utilized in the Mexican gold mines, European diseases had decimated the American Indian population, and the Spanish considered Native Americans too savage to be good workers. • 8. Application And Utility Of Database Management Systems Roger K. Doost, (2002) The need for change in the way we teach accounting information systems , Managerial Auditing Journal, Vol. 17 Iss: 5, pp.277 282 The article, The need for change in the way we teach accounting information systems , by Roger K. Doost, seeks to address the issues of how teachers and Universities are behind the power curve when it comes to teaching the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) course. He argues that lectures out of the textbook will no longer be beneficial if instructors do not include hands on training going forward. The emphasis on database and database management should be supplemented with relevant software and teaching material to make the course more meaningful and the efforts more fruitful . (Doost, 2002). This article is to illustrate how the incorporation of Microsoft Access into the AIS course provides an excellent demonstration into application and utility of database management systems. In the introductory section of this article, Doost elaborates on the many reasons why some of his fellow colleagues are having a rather difficult time teaching the AIS course effectively. He stated that in the past, Universities employed professors based on their interest in the course or having experience in the AIS field. With that being said, some professors can teach a course outside of their professional fields of study. The ideal professor to teach this subject matter is one who has adequate graduate work in the areas of both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Internet Dangers As advancements in technology continue to exceed expectations, the internet starts to present itself more as a reliable tool than a technological breakthrough. With every passing year, people take for granted what a powerful asset the internet can truly be. However, common sense would suggest that, every powerful tool comes with a significant risk. The risk takes the form of every lewd, violent, and undesirable website which exists in the vast network of information. Some possess knowledge extensive enough to avoid these dangerous sites, but those who are young and blissfully ignorant of the unseen nature of the internet cannot possibly be expected to avoid these dangers on their own. Therefore, in order to protect the minds, hearts, and futures of the younger generation, precautionary measures should be taken to prevent children from accessing or stumbling upon sites which, by no means, should ever be seen by children. It is said that over 30 percent of all data transferred across the internet is pornography (Kleinman, 2017). With much of this content being easy to access and free to view, it comes as no surprise that numerous children find themselve viewing explicit content. A study was done that shows up to fifteen percent of all 12 17 year olds view pornography through online sources or other means, this includes unwanted exposure. The study also states that 70 percent of 15 17 year old internet users report stumbling upon pornography quite often. Teens who have had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The International Human Rights Regime Has Its Weaknesses... Ram Chadha HR Final Exam The question that states that the international human rights regime does not have a hard enforcement mechanism and until there are serious consequences to violations, states won t comply with human rights is a topic I happen to disagree with. I realize the international human rights regime has its weaknesses and flaws. However, these weaknesses are due to inescapable aspects of our disordered global society, especially the principle of state sovereignty. At the end of World War II there was a change in the internationals view towards human rights. In spite of the large human cost of their failings, these enforcement mechanisms are fit for a purpose and that the strongest enforcement mechanism is simply the fact that human rights are codified in international law. When discussing the topic of compliance and legal strength of human rights instruments and tools, we are talking about nation states. To support my claims we can look at the UN Charter based enforcement mechanisms. There are two types of these instruments: declarations and conventions. Declarations are not legally binding but do have political impact. Conventions are legally binding under international law. Both declarations and conventions can become expected international law over time, which makes them universally legally binding. A further characteristic is made between mechanisms for human rights protection. They are known as global and regional. The legal instruments ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Advantages And Disadvantages To Traditional Database... Advantages of Database Management System: The DBMS has a number of advantages as compared to traditional computer file processing approach. The DBA must keep in mind these benefits or capabilities during designing databases, coordinating and monitoring the DBMS. The major advantages of DBMS are described below. 1. Controlling Data Redundancy: In non database systems (traditional computer file processing), each application program has its own files. In this case, the duplicated copies of the same data are created at many places. In DBMS, all the data of an organization is integrated into a single database. The data is recorded at only one place in the database and it is not duplicated. For example, the dean s faculty file and the faculty payroll file contain several items that are identical. • 12. Immigration Policies Of The 1920s The 1890s to the 1920s was the first time that the federal government was taking a real stand and control over immigration policies. It also saw the two greatest waves of immigration in the country s history. War, poverty, political turmoil, social upheaval, food shortages, lack of available jobs and more prompted people from foreign countries to move to the United States because it was the land of dreams and prosperity. After the depression of the 1890s immigration jumped from 3.5 million to 9 million in a ten year period. By 1900, New York City had as many Irish residents as Dublin and more Italians than any city outside Rome and more Poles than any city except Warsaw. It had more Jews than any other city in the world, as well as large amount of Slavs, Lithuanians, Chinese, and Scandinavians (Collier). The government began to limit these new immigrants. From 1882 until 1943 most Chinese immigrants were barred from entering the United States under the Chinese Exclusion Act, the nation s first law to ban immigration by race or nationality. In 1892, Ellis Island was opened in New York evaluate immigrants before allowing them to enter the United States. Fibroblasts are the cells that make up the ligaments, which are made up of between 70% and 80% collagen. The high level of collagen gives the ligament tissue high tensile strength. The flexibility of the ligaments comes from the elastin fibers that are in the extracellular matrix, which counters the solid nature of the bone (Prater A.M., 2010). The ligaments of the knee assist in controlling the movements that occur at the joint. The collateral ligaments are positioned on each side of the joint (the medial collateral ligament on the medial side and the lateral collateral ligament on the lateral side). The cruciate ligaments are found deep within the knee joint. The anterior cruciate ligament attaches to the medial and anterior aspect of the tibial plateau and on the lateral femoral condyle. The posterior cruciate ligament attaches to the posterior aspect of the tibial plateau and the medial femoral condyle (Johns Hopkins Sports Medicine). The names of the cruciate ligaments arise from their nature of crossing over each other between each of their attachments and from the position of their tibial attachments. (Palastanga Soames, 2012). The interaction of the ACL and PCL at varying degrees of flexion accounts for some of the dynamic stability of the knee joint (Chhabra et al. C. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Benefits Of Electronic Medical Record Introduction There are many benefits of using electronic medical record (EMR). This paper will discuss the benefits of electronic medical record for the physicians, patients, and the healthcare organizations. Benefits of EMR for Physicians There are so many benefits for physicians to use electronic medical record, for example, they can eliminate a tremendous amount of paperwork since most of their charting is done on the computer. Another advantage of using electronic medical record is the fact that it allows for easy transfer of data or information to other departments or medical providers. This ability of the electronic medical record helps to eliminate errors, it also less time consuming and it prevents physicians and patients from repeating the same test. It also helps to prevent patients from over exposing their body to unnecessary radiation. It is also important to note that healthcare insurance is also enjoying this feature of the electronic medical record since they are saving money whereby they will not have to pay for duplicate testing. The electronic medical record being able to transfer patients data and information from one provider to the next is important since it allows collaborations among various departments and healthcare facilities, also, physicians do not have to worry about paperwork being misplaced or misfiled. The history of the Hopi Indians is intertwined with the various contact zones between the Hopi Indians and other cultural groups. The Great Drought of 1276 through 1299, though, brought great changes in the making of Hopi pottery (Bartlett 4). Orange and yellow pottery came into existence as wood used for the firing technique was abandoned for the coal fuel found in abundance on the three mesas. Coal became the principal fuel for cooking and heating, as well as for the firing of the Hopi pottery. The Anasazi influence, along with the use of coal, transformed the pottery color and design into what has now been named the Sikyatki Polychrome style of Hopi pottery. The Sikyatki style of Hopi pottery was the introduction of artistic quality to the yellow pottery of the Anasazi period. From 1400 1600 A.D., the Sikyatki Polychrome style was described as flamboyance of decoration on the yellow pottery now being made (Bartlett 6). The geometric designs of the Anasazi period were abandoned for the Sikyatki use of life form designs and nature designs. Dante describes the inferno as having nine different circles, each with a different level of punishment. The nine different circles do not pertain to Christian literature, however, Luke 12:47 48 does suggest there are different types of punishment. When Virgil and Dante are about to set their quest into the inferno, he tells Dante that he will see and hear the screams of people in their second death. This idea of a second death comes from Revelations 21.8 when it is explained that the the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone (Rev 21:8, KJV). These are the people that inhabit the inferno, derived from Christian judgement and approved by Dante s hell. There are also many biblical characters mentioned while Virgil explains Dante s upcoming quest. Dante mentions the successors of the Apostle Peter (Inferno Canto II 24), St. Paul and his venture into heaven (2 Corinthians 12.2 4, KJV), and of A gracious lady, who sits in heaven grieving, also known as the Virgin Mary (Inferno Canto II 93). Other characters are also addressed such as when Virgil and Dante are approaching the City of Dis when they see, more than a thousand fiendish angels (Inferno Canto VIII 83). These angels are the rebel angels that were cast out of heaven and hurled to the earth (Rev 12:9, KJV) along with Satan in Revelation 12.9. Towards the end of their journey in the inferno, far across the ice, Virgil and Dante see the massive figure of Lucifer. • 25. Analysis Of The Play Othello The play Othello , by William Shakespeare and film adaption by Oliver parker explores the idea of how an individual s sense of identity affects their actions and how this can be manipulated to create conflict. Shakespeare uses techniques such as soliloquies, dramatic irony, imagery, foreshadowing, and symbolism to show us how tragedy occurs from counteracting to patriarchal rules and stereotypes. Identity is a very key, important thematic issue in William Shakespeare s tragic play, Othello . Identity, or what may be better explained as a character s public perception, is highly valued in the Elizabethan Age in which Othello is set. There is a varying range between the characters in the extent that how they are perceived in public is not how they behave in private or how they really are, thus creating more than one identity per character. A character s identity is the overall essence of that character, however, in plays such as Shakespeare s there must always be an element of tragic flaw to the play thus creating conflict. The definition for conflict is a state of open, often prolonged fighting; a battle or war. Opposition between characters or forces in a work of drama or fiction, especially opposition that motivates or shapes the action of the plot. There are many ways in which this definition is represented in Othello . Defensively in soccer speed is sometimes slowed down and skilled footwork may be needed. How a player uses speed or velocity depends on the situation, but if just one isn t done skillfully a player may not end up making the play as planned. III. Distance The distance that you are able to kick the ball can be summed up with the equation for distance, d=RT, distance equals rate multiplied by the time. So speed and time are both very important when kicking the ball because it directly affects the distance. Soccer players vary the distances that they want to kick the ball. Skilled players can estimate very quickly how fast to make the ball move to make it go where they need it to. Before learning this equation in physics I just thought you kicked the ball, but now I know that when this equation is applied to soccer it means so much more. Soccer players can use this to help them judge how hard and fast they need to be able to kick the ball to make it go a certain distance. This is just another example of how physics, the small details, can be used to improve ones soccer skills. IV.
