Crafting an essay on the subject of "Pay for Writing an Essay" is a task that involves navigating
through a nuanced landscape of perspectives, ethical considerations, and practical implications.
The difficulty arises from the need to strike a balance between acknowledging the legitimate
services that offer assistance in essay writing for a fee and addressing the concerns related to
academic integrity and originality.
One of the challenges is delving into the diverse reasons why individuals might opt to pay for
essay writing services. Some may seek help due to time constraints, while others may struggle
with the complexities of the topic. Understanding the motivations behind such choices requires a
careful examination of individual circumstances, which can be a complex and multifaceted

2. Once More To The Lake Eb White Analysis
Zia Hoang
Calderon
British Literature per. 1
8 December 2014
Mortality is the inevitable flaw of humankind and is the thing that everything must
eventually succumb to. Mortality itself is a recurring theme in many works of
literature throughout the years, often in comparison to time and nature. EB White uses
time and nature constantly to blur the line between past and present in Once More to
the Lake. In the essay, White reflects back to his childhood when his father would
take him to the lake. In order to continue the tradition, White decided to take his son
to the lake as well. This is the starting point of White s journey into understanding his
own mortality.
Throughout the essay, White experiences a dual existence which is apparent
3. Bread Givers Metaphors
The Burden of Poverty: How Fiction Imitates Reality The feeling of anxiety is one
that transcends the many categories that society organizes us in; it is a feeling
impartial to race, gender, or class. Anzia Yezierska, a Jewish immigrant from Poland,
dealt with issues ranging from extreme poverty to the guilt she felt for abandoning
tradition. In her book Bread Givers she exemplifies what she went through when she
writes: It wasn t just my father, but the generations who made my father whose
weight was still upon me (297). Similarly to what Yezierska felt growing up, the main
character and narrator, Sara Smolinsky, expresses similar anxieties about tradition and
poverty. Through the fictional characters, Yezierska informs the reader what... Show

In her own autobiography, Red Ribbon on a White Horse she has stated that the
quote was said to her by her own father. By writing the same phrase again in a
separate piece a writing, it acts as proof for the reader that she is knowledgeable in
what beliefs are held important within the Jewish religion. In addition to this, the
fact that she had grown up with the culture and was a part of it her entire life, she
can recognize the flaws within it without worry of discrimination towards said
culture. In fact, within this quote and many others throughout the book, she
openly displays the contradictory and often times discriminatory demeanor the
culture and its followers have towards poverty as well as women. The father even
goes as far as getting his wife to admit to being only a sinful woman . With this in
mind, it is easy to see how the audience can get personally invested in the characters
lives, wishing them better luck and better treatment. This could be as a result of the
person being able to understand what it is like to be pressured by a strict set of
cultural or religious beliefs; but, it can also come from the general sense of knowing
what it is like to be undermined. Overall, the references to her Jewish culture and
religion serve to show her reliability through the involvement she has and

This has drawn the researcher s attention to concentrate in the web service
selection problem. Some of the related work in this area includes Dynamic QoS
management, Web service selection using different algorithms. Imprecise QoS
constraints allow users to flexibly specify the QoS demands. Fuzzy logic is
proposed for the web service discovery and selection problem. Methods for
specifying fuzzy QoS constraints and for ranking web service based on their fuzzy
representation were discussed [4]. A novel tool supported framework for the
development of adaptive service based systems is proposed to achieve the QoS
requirements through dynamically adapting to changes in workload, state and
environment [5] The evolution of fuzzy classifier for data mining is the current
research topic. An application of genetic programming to the evolution of fuzzy
classifiers based on Boolean queries is proposed to detect faulty products and to
discover intrusions in computer network [6]. NP hard problems are termed as
finding the set of services for a given composition that optimize the Qos values based
on the constraints provided. A heuristic approach based on
5. Audio Assets Definition
What are Assets?
Assets are sometimes defined as resources or things of value that are owned by a
company.
(1) Audio
Audio is sound that is within the acoustic range which is available to humans. An
Audio Frequency (AF) is an electrical alternating current within the 20 to 20,000
hertz (cycles per second) range which can be used to produce acoustic sound. In
computers, audio is the sound system that comes with or can be added to a
computer. An audio card contains a special built in processor and memory for
processing audio files and sending them to speakers in the computer. Audio files are
records of sound that has been captured and can be played back. Sound is a
succession of naturally analog signals which are converted to digital ... Show more

There is also no compression involved. The digital recording is a close to exact
representation of the analog sound. PCM is most commonly used in CD s and
DVD s. It has a subtype called Linear Pulse Code Modulation, where samples are
taken at linear intervals. LCPM is the most common form of PCM, which is why the
two terms are almost interchangeable.
WAV
WAV is also known as Waveform Audio File Format. It was developed by
Microsoft and IBM back in 1991. Lots of people seem to assume that WAV files
are uncompressed audio files, but that s not always true. WAV is actually just a
Windows container for audio formats. This means that a WAV file can contain
compressed audio, but it s not usually used for that. A lot of WAV files contain
uncompressed audio in PCM format. The WAV file is just a wrapper for the PCM
encoding, which therefore makes it a lot more suitable for use on Windows systems.
However, Mac systems can usually open WAV files without any issues.
AIFF
AIFF stands for Audio Interchange File Format. Alike Microsoft and IBM developed
WAV for Windows; AIFF is a format that was developed by Apple specifically for
Mac systems back in 1988. Also similar to WAV files, AIFF files can also contain
multiple kinds of audio. For example, there is a compressed version called AIFF C
and another version called Apple Loops which is used by
6. The United Arab Emirates ( Uae )
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was not always the global epicenter of the
Middle East. Culture is a lifestyle based on values, norms, behaviors, and beliefs of
a region. Before it became a country, it was seven different regions next to Saudi
Arabia and Oman. Its culture provided a Bedouin lifestyle and one focused upon the
region. As the regions progressed throughout history, they began to realize they need
one another to survive. Each region had a ruler, called a sheikh, and they banded
together to create a federation known as UAE. Today, UAE thrives upon the
westernization, globalization, and wealth that have fallen before them. The region fit
together like a jigsaw puzzle, the history, politics, economics, social, and military
make up the pieces of culture making UAE a stabilized epicenter in the turmoil area
of the Middle East. The United Arab Emiratesis a constitutional federation of seven
emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al Quwain, Ra s al Khaimah and
Fujairah ( UAE government politics: Information, n.d.). The members of the
federation were not always in agreement with each other. In the seventeenth century,
these regions were a part of the Ottoman Empire. The seven sheikhdoms that were
to form the UAE were known as the Trucial Coastal States and been part of Great
Britain s informal empire in the Persian Gulf (Bismarck, 2012). UAE joined The
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in 1967 ( OPEC: Brief
7. Dr. Malcom Sayer s Awakening
Awakening is based on a true story of a neurologist named Oliver Sacks; he was
portrayed by Dr. Malcom Sayer that was played by Robin Williams. He is a
neurologist who moved to a new institution in 1969 and was able to make a
miracle to some patients who were catatonic. A boy named Leonard showed at the
first, it was confusing since nobody knew what was happening to him. His hand
kept on twitching and being stiff, he couldn t write properly because of that. Then
the scene changed and it was 1969. There came Dr. Malcom Sayer a neurologist

But the one actor who stood out was Robert De Niro as Leonard Lowe. The person
that he did as Leonard Lowe wasn t a very easy job because he has to act as if he
actually is sick. Leonard is always getting hurt; his voice isn t normal, and the way
his actions were in the movie. I m positive that Robert De Niro had a hard time
portraying his character. The way he acted it so well fascinates me and made me
realize that he is a great actor. In the movie, there are some parts that I didn t like.
It is where all the patients that were awakened became asleep again. That part
made me sad and also made me realize that all good things must come to an end
even if no one wants that. There were also parts that I liked for example; when the
nurse cursed and said that it s a miracle, also that time where Leonard has awoken.
Those events made me realize that miracles do happened in one s life when we
least expected it to be. Since the movie has a genre of the movie is drama, the rate
of this should be PG 13. It has a more mature meaning to people and it knocks out
some sense to you that even though life can be hard; we should all know how to be

8. The Hunger Games By Max Weber
Social stratification is a concept used within sociology that explains the divisions
and social inequalities of large groups of people within a particular society. The
Hunger Games (2012) is a film that demonstrates this through amplifying how the
power of the rich members in a polarised society are taking control of the poor and
separating them in different districts which create specific social rankings. This essay
will use the perspective of conflict theory to examine how Australian society is also
effected by social stratificationand therefore divided in social classes which effects
their access to social equalities.
Social Stratification can be explained as members of a society being placed into a
hierarchy where they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Putting this into the context of The Hunger Games (2012), the bourgeoisie are the
The Capitol whom have distributed the poorer into 12 separate districts where
resources are scare and each represent a different area of labour. This is where The
Capitol exploit the work of the districts in order to remain within their political
dominance and maintain their luxurious lifestyle (Simmons 2012). This clearly
describes these 12 divisions as the proletariat as they have no control or ownership
over the means of production and are provided with a minimum wage in order to
survive. This imbalance of wealth, status and social inequality is illustrated within the
movie when the main character Katniss Everdeen is shown within her district where
people are dying from starvation, to making her arrival upon the Capitol and being
met with banquets of food which could suffice her entire district. Overall this shows
that the social stratification within The Hunger Games (2012) is demonstrated
through the strict differentiations between two classes which Karl Marx would
describe as the capitalists and working class.
Looking at this in an Australian context, there is a larger variation and fluctuation
between class determinations compared to Karl Marx who believed social class was
only determined by the factor of property (Henslin and Possami Inesedy 2014).

9. Relations Between Iran And Iran
This paper explores long strained relations between Iran and United States that
began decades ago. The paper also examines the events that led to this decades of
disagreement between Washington and Tehran. Allies to enemies, that is what
happen after series of events such as the CIA backed coup in 1953 to the hostage
crises at the U.S Embassy in Tehran. The U.S and many of its allies criticized Irans
nuclear program which they believed that Iran was using it to develop nuclear
weapons. Iran on the other hand denied this accusations and stated that their nuclear
program was only for civilian use only. After long talks and crippling sanctions
against Iran, finally there was a historic agreement between Iran and six world
powers that would stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and would lift the
sanctions imposed on Iran.
Keywords: Foreign relations, executive agreement, interest groups, theocracy,
multilateralism
The Nuclear Deal
Iran and the United States were once a powerful ally. During the Cold War, the United
States supported, and some cases rallied allied countries, including Iran as a
fortification against the Soviet Union. In certain cases, the United States was
supporting unpopular and suppressive regimes. The Shah of Iran and his suppressive
regime was one of those governments. The Shah regime was overthrown in 1979 and
was ultimately replaced by another regime, but this this regime and its leadership
were anti American. The new regime was a

school through his days with the St. Louis Cardinals of the National Football
League (NFL). Born in 1941, Meggyesy was raised in a low income household in
Solon, Ohio. Like many athletes from impoverished backgrounds, he was able to use
the game of football to better himself though both a full scholarship to Syracuse

Meggyesy became increasingly disillusioned with the game of football and how its
athletes were subject to tremendous physical and psychological turmoil from those in

Such studies examine whether sports lead athletes to define and experience their
bodies as machines designed to produce entertainment and profits for others rather
than feelings of pleasure for themselves. (Coakley, 1998) Meggyesy described this
phenomenon when he said: I also realized, paradoxically, how cut off and removed
I was from my body. I knew my body more thoroughly than most men are ever able
to, but I had used it and thought of it as a machine, a thing that had to be well
oiled, well fed, and well taken care of, to do a specific job. (Meggyesy, 1970, p.
231) Unfortunately, maintaining this machine often meant that athletes would use
drugs such as amphetamines, barbiturates, steroids, or cortisone injections not for
the purpose of treatment and cure, but for the purpose of stimulating the mind and
body in order to perform more violently as a professional. (Meggyesy, 1970) The
prevalence of these drugs in the NFL could be seen in Meggyesy s words, Most
NFL trainers do more dealing in these drugs than the average junky. (Meggyesy,
1970, p. 83) Meggyesy s coaches also treated athletes as machines because their
concern for the well being of athletes was only to the extent that they could
contribute to their primary concern of winning games. For example, while Meggyesy
was at Syracuse University, the primary concern of the coaches was to win a national

12. The Moral Permissibility Of Selling Sexual Services
When posed with the question regarding the moral permissibility of selling sexual
services, I believe that is is morally permissible. Using the rights based moral
theory approach, all individuals have the right to their own autonomy. To
elaborate, humans are given the right to use their autonomy in any way he or she
sees fit, and this goes even for sex. If someone wants to sell their body to make
some money, it is morally permissible. On the contrary, one might argue that it is
morally impermissible for married individuals or children to be a purchaser of
sexual services. These objections will be addressed later in the essay. Nevertheless,
as a whole, the sale of sexual services, including porn, prostitution, phone sex, and
escort service,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, if non consensual sex takes place, then the action would be morally
permissible because one of the individual s right to their own autonomy would be
violated.
To address the question, it has been already stated that selling sexual services is
morally permissible. The distribution of porn has been at the center of
controversies in regards to its moral permissibility. This service involves the use of
possibly nude actors performing some form of sex in a video, which is typically
distributed to viewers in a wide range of geographical locations. The forms of sex
can range from masturbation to penetrative sex to BDSM. Porn is used to help
sexually excite viewers watching the video. With this, some people have felt that the
distribution of porn could potentially corrupt the younger generations. Under the
rights based moral theory, the distribution and sale of this product is morally
permissible under certain circumstances. The individuals involved in the video have
consented to being recorded and having sex. The individuals involved in the video
have consented to having their video distributed as a commodity. If these two
conditions are met, then under the rights based moral theory, the distribution and sale
of porn would be morally permissible since the individuals in the video have a right
to their own autonomy. Because of this,
13. Development Of A Service Innovation
Introduction:
The aim of the report is to discuss the development of a service innovation in a
hospital care setting.
Therefore the innovation being introduced in the report will focus on the pain
management tool for assessing chronic conditions in service users with dementia in
hospital settings. As pain is a very subjective experience it is important that the tool is
specifically based on the individual s own way of expressing and communicating their
pain in relation to their chronic conditions.
The first section of this report will review and evaluate a body of evidence to support
the development of the pain management tool by looking at the subject of the change
management proposal, the relevant stake holders and the change agent to support the
change. Secondly the report will focus on theories and strategies to management of
change by using change management model and explaining the process of it. Thirdly
the issues and experience of being a team member in the development of the service
improvement proposal will be reflected and also explore the dynamics of the team.
Lastly for the transition from student nurse to registered nurse, based on the findings
from the evaluation of personal performance further development will be discussed
identifying the leadership skills needed and design an action plan which includes
outcomes and how these outcomes will be measured.
The aim of the change is to:
Identify and recognise pain for dementia patients with chronic

Each skill consisted of a specific movement or a specific spell chant. If one messed

15. South Korea s Historical Struggle With Tyrannical Rule
Essay
AbstractConsidering South Korea s historical struggle with tyrannical rule, the nation
has become quite a democratic force, mirroring its European and American
counterparts. Being a country that caters to different values, cultures, and social
structures, there are some considerable differences of their Criminal Justice System,
specifically their criminal procedures, policing, and prison populations. However, due
to their adaption of Western legal traditions there are similar marks within South
Koreas laws and constitution. Introduction
In the face of the initial plan of a unified Korea in the 1943 Cairo Declaration,
intensifying Cold War resentment between the Soviet Union and the United States, as
well as tensions within Korea with the Korean War, eventually led to the
establishment of separate governments, each with its own system, and to the division
of Korea into two political entities in 1948: North Korea and South Korea (Gohar,
1988). South Korea is a relatively small nation in the east located in the Southern
portion of the Korean Peninsula; it shares a properly guarded border with North
Korea, a communistic nation. To give more geographical perspective, South Korea
is surrounded by the Yellow Sea and the Sea of Japan, in which its namesake is not
too far off in the southeastern direction. With a population of around 50 million
people, more than half of its people is located in the country s capital, Seoul (Joo,
2015). Although it is a country of small
16. Energy Consumed by Cloud Computing
With the accelerating adoption of cloud computing, data centers, which serve a pivot
role in cloud computing, are consuming a significant amount of energy. It was
estimated data centers in the USA consumed 61 billion kWh electricity in 2006.
This amount has doubled the consumption in 2000, and was expected to double
again by the end of 2011 [1]. Our in depth analysis on empirical characterization
generates fundamental insights of server energy usage in the context of server
virtualization, including: a significant amount of power is consumed even when the
server is idle, thus opening an opportunity for server consolidation in data centers for
reducing energy cost. A recent study [2] 10 has indicated that the energy
consumption of server is approximately linear to the CPU utilization. This result is
applicable in both DVFS enabled server and
DVFS disabled server. The reasons behind this are (1) the modern server is equipped
multi core processor or multi processor, thus the CPU is the major energy consumed
in servers; (2) although CPU can adjust its frequency to lower the power
consumption, the number of frequency states is limited, moreover
DVFS is not applied to other server components apart from the CPU. The optimal
placement of virtual machine is important for improving power efficiency and
resource utilization in a cloud computing environment. Virtualized servers consume
more energy than physical ones, for both computing and networking

Around last year one of the most controversial law was passed by the Supreme Court.
This law is legalizing gay marriage. There are a lot of mixed feeling between people
about this topic. Some people were very happy about gay marriage being legalized,
most of whom are gay. However, there are also a lot of people unhappy, and they
have some very good reasons on why to be angry. With gaymarriage, say the couple
wants a child so they adopt. The child that they adopt will not only be deprived of
his real parents, but he will also have the lack of both a mother and father role
model. The child will be raised by one party and they will lack the lessons the other
party could teach them. Gay marriage will hurt children with the way they are raised

20. Symbolism in A Good Man is Hard to Find Essay
The short story A Good Man is Hard to Find, by Flannery O Connor, is bombarded
with symbolism. In short stories symbolism is the literary element that helps the
reader depict the picture and actions in their own minds. Whether it be from
characters names or the designs on the characters shirts, every detail in this story has
a purpose. Flannery O Connor was known for her strong religious background,
Catholicism, and used her faith as the underlying message in her works. In the story,
A Good Man is Hard to Find, there are a couple of things that can be traced directly to
Christianity. The little boy, John Wesley, symbolizes the religious denomination of
Methodism. John Wesley, along with his brother Charles Wesley, founded the

passes a graveyard. They passed a large cotton field with five or six graves fenced

purposely mentions the specific number of graves, one grave for each person in
the car. She also mentions that it was a family burying ground. This symbolism
foreshadows that the family will soon face death. When the family is driving
through the town, the grandmother remembers the old plantation is called
Toombsboro . This plantation s name is brought up to remind the reader of death.
Toombsboro sounds like the tomb, symbolizing the family will soon face their
tombs. Another description that is given to symbolize the deaths is that of the
Misfits car. It was a big black battered hearse like automobile (103). A hearse is a
vehicle designed to carry coffins for funerals. This description also foreshadows
the death of the family before the Misfit arrives. Lastly, the woods, tall and dark
and deep (105) represent the family s death. The woods symbolize the unknown and
fear we have for death, which is considered dark and deep. The Grandmother stood
in front of the woods reminding us that death is always near and behind us. Just like
the woods, death can be a scary thing

Building a More Just Society
The Role of the Judiciary
The Judicial Branch is one of three equal branches of the United States government.
Article III of the American Constitution invests federal judiciary power within the
Supreme Court. The extent of the power of that has been debated all through U.S.
History. Along with the federal judicial system, all 50 states have a judiciary which
interprets individual state laws and on occasion it interprets federal laws too. The
judicial system administers justice and constitutes the judicial branch of the
government. Justice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The judiciary branch maintains the responsibility of ensuring justice with equality.
Therefore even though this branch does not make laws, through a judicial review it
does reserve the power to change the law if they find that the states laws are
incompatible with legislation of the constitution The term judiciary not only
describes the court system but is also refers collectively to the professionals that make
up the bench, including the judges, magistrates and various other adjudicators. This
group along with the staffs forms the core of the judiciary bench. Professionals in the
judiciary, including prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges, must execute justice
by upholding the law in an ethical manner. Their separate depictions of various
courts suggest the metaphor of a pyramid: at increasingly higher levels of the
judiciary, the range of operative goals narrows and variation among judges
diminishes. At the lowest levels, in this metaphor, interest in the content of legal
policy is one of many motivations for judges behavior, motivations whose importance
differs from judge to judge. At the highest level, in the Supreme Court, only an
interest in the content of legal policy influences the behavior of any justice. (Baum,
1991) The judiciary system in the United States is more sophisticated than judicial
systems around the world. The judicial system serves thousands pf people daily; law

23. Alias Grace Analysis
In a patriarchal and misogynistic society, women are manipulated, humiliated and
judged, which results in their role as secondary, subservient citizens. In Alias Grace
by Margaret Atwood, women are represented on complete opposite ends of the
spectrum, either as pure, kind ladies or deceitful, ill intentioned criminals and
whores. In order to survive, women must be able to overcome personal and societal
obstacles based on gender. Through sexual abuse, the power and advantages of
white male privilege, society s tendency to mistrust females, and the ways in how
men in positions of authority impose upon and objectify women, women are
oppressed and belittled to what society declares them. Women were oppressed
through sexual abuse, being unable to speak out as they would be blamed. Alias
Grace is a novel about the desire and need for control over women and their bodies,
and the lasting effects and consequences of suffering and trauma that sexual abuse
creates. Women face emotional trauma, physical trauma, and lack of support from
society, which helps build an environment where women are secondary to men.
Grace Marks might be a murderess, but she is also a victim of societal and
personal obstacles based on gender. She faces physical trauma when she is
assaulted and abused by her father, who tried to rape her before she left to find
work. She is repeatedly harassed by the son of her former employer, who banged
on her door every night, ordering her to sleep with him. The abuse does not stop
once she has been found a criminal, Grace is then abused in the asylum. This shows
how women are abused no matter their situations or circumstances. The abuse also
gives Grace emotional trauma. She is constantly reminded of the haunting
memories, and can never fully recover. Grace voices her thoughts of how she can
not even relax when she is trying to sleep at night, saying You may think a bed is a
peaceful thing Sir, and to you it may mean rest and comfort and a good night s
sleep. But it isn t so for everyone; and there are many dangerous things that may
take place in a bed (Atwood, 186). She knows she is powerless in her society, and
defenceless against the advantageous position of men. Sexual abuse also causes

24. Effects Of Musculoskeletal Palpation On Athletic Training...
To evaluate injuries, musculoskeletal palpation is taught in many athletic training
programs. Oftentimes, the focus is on accuracy of surface anatomy landmarks instead
of the ability to discriminate qualitative information such as, tissue tone, spasm, or
pain response from the soft tissue. Palpation is a large foundation for evaluation and
intervention, a need to further the development of this skill exists. Due to this the
integration of tasks to improve palpation skills throughout athletic trainingcurriculum
may help improve student confidence, accuracy and precision while performing
patient evaluation and manual medicine interventions. Recent research has proven
that stereognosis drills can improve student s palpation skills and provide advanced
training to betterrefine palpation skills. Below, the definition of stereognosis will be
defined, as well as, altering techniques to perform these drills. 1
The use of manual medicine has become increasingly popular in the profession of
athletic training. This occurs because athletic trainers are seeking new ways to
rehabilitate their patients. Typically, these techniques require the athletic trainerto
palpate superficial and deep structures of the body with great accuracy and
discrimination. Ironically, many athletic trainers and students report difficulty with
their personal abilities to feel and discriminate the local soft tissue. Stereognosis is a
concept first introduced by Hoffman, as an individual s ability to

26. The Supernatural Model of Abnormal Behaviours Essay
Over many years, people have been inquisitive about abnormal behaviours within
their societies and beyond. A typical question pertaining to these behaviours is, why
is he behaving this way. According to DSM IV TR, abnormal behaviour is defined
as a person who experiences behavioural, cognitive or emotional dysfunction,
associated with distress and atypical in his cultural context (Barlow, Durand, 2009).
However, the quest for answers and remedies has drifted people from scientific
models to traditional ones. One of such models is supernatural.
The supernatural model states that people believed and explained abnormal
behaviours in terms of supernatural forces. In other words, abnormal behaviours are
caused by demonic and evil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Women who had emotional and psychological problems turned to him for help and

The first woman, Tan Mui Choo, was under depression at that point of time due to
her grandmother s death and separation from her parents at the age of thirteen. The
second was Hoe Kah Hong. She was brought to Lim by her grandmother so that

over the death of her husband.
Lim s treatment did not consist of exorcism but of other means. The first was
ritualistic massage. He would use an idol of Siamese sex god called Phragann and
rub it all over the women s bodies. After that, he would proceed to fornicate with
them. He claimed that this treatment was effective in curing emotional problems. The
second method was electro shock therapy. He would attach electric wires on the
women s temples and requested them to soak their feet into a basin of water. Then,
he administered electric shocks to them. He claimed those shocks would drive any
evil spirits that was causing problems and adversities to them (Rajendran, 1997).
There is no perfect model to explain abnormal behaviours. Similarly, the supernatural
model has a number of strengths and weaknesses.
The foundation of supernatural model is primarily based
27. Well-Organized Government In Ancient Egypt
Introduction
The people of ancient Egypt started as hunters and gatherers. Then they settled in the
Nile river valley. When the people settled the food was more plentiful. And when the
food was more plentiful there were more. And with more people, they had to have all
of the seven indicators.
Government
Every complex society needs a well organized government. In ancient Egypt having a
well organized government was important. The pharaoh was the most important
person in the government. The Pharaoh was the supreme leader of all of ancient Egypt
, they even called him a god.The Pharaoh had so many things to do being a leader

Ancient Egypt also had a complex religion that tied into well organized government.
The ancient Egyptians were deeply religious. The ancient Egyptians would never
worship without being purified. They also believed that their gods had
supernatural powers, and if they worshiped their gods they would live a happy and
long life. A way to worship gods is to pay tributes. They were so religious that they
built temples. They would also perform ceremonies so that ancient Egypt would
not fall into chaos. How does complex religion tie into well organized government?
Every government has a pharaoh and in the religious perspective, the pharaoh is
also a god. The people of ancient Egypt would treat him like a god and worshiped
him. They would pay tributes. And when he died they covered him in gold and
riches and everything he had before. According to ducksters.com, the people built
2 types of temples the first is cultus and the second is Mortuary the mortuary was
built for the dead pharaoh. So the pharaoh got his own temple built. The ancient
Egyptians worked a lot for their religion. The ancient Egyptians were the ones that
built the pyramids and that took a lot of work. So why did the ancient Egyptians
just slack and not to do it? Well because it was apart of their religion and they had
to do it. They also built the Sphinx for their gods and religion. The ancient Egyptians
also had big ceremonies that would take a lot of
28. Descriptive Essay On Fast Food
In our quickly growing society, full of capitalism, advertisements seem to have
become the backdrop to our bustling lives. Though we seem to overlook their
presence, throughout all American cities, Ads are what fill all the empty spaces,
from store front windows, to big billboards in the skies. These brightly colored
pictures, that flood our vision as we drive to work, or even stroll down the mall,
have a more influential effect on our daily lives then we realize. A perfect example
of this is with the foodindustry.
Fast Food is becoming a routine stop for many Americans, as they go about their day.
This is causing health to also be on the minds of consumers. You d think this would
defer people from continuing their daily, fast food pit stop, but in reality, it s the
industries that are changing their own advertisements to promote their healthy
options instead. When you take a moment to look at the ads promoting your favorite
food brands, you ll start to notice the emphasis on things such as calorie count,
ingredients, and freshness of the food. You can clearly see these attributes when
analyzing the three different posters, for three different food products, that I have
selected.
The first poster, is an image of a Heinz ketchup bottle, created using fresh slices of
tomatoes. The second poster is promoting a Veggie Burger from McDonald s by
forming the image of a cow using various vegetables. While the last poster is for the
popular smoothie brand, Naked, in which you see a healthy looking woman running,
with the words Our machines don t run on added sugar or preservatives and neither
will you .
While analyzing the first poster, for Heinz ketchup, your eyes quickly realizes the
well known glass Heinz bottle to be made up entirely of thick slices of tomatoes.
The rest of the poster is merely a red background with a small Heinz slogan at the
bottom, which reads, No one grows ketchup like Heinz . The poster is simple, with
only two focal points, the bottle, and the slogan. This forces the consumers to only
focus on what the producer wants them to gather, which is, in this case, the idea of
natural and fresh ingredients. The simplicity of the ad also seems to represent that the
popular ketchup brand

man who is very proud of his noble samurai blood that begins softening up in old age
in effort to reconnect with his familyafter losing them all to different causes. One
example of this is the narrator and the father reflecting on their past, with the

the death of his wife, the father has had to face many new challenges, and by doing

prolonged durations have been linked to the development of C. Difficile infections. In
comparison these articles provide evidence on how the overuse of antibiotics
contribute the development of drug resistant organisms and ways that this can be
avoided. The settings of where these studies were conducted were in a variety of
settings hospitals, nursing homes and clinics. These studies were conducted in
different countries and states, this shows that the overuse/misuse of antibiotics
contribute to multidrug resistant infections. The misuse/overuse of antibiotics is an
issue that requires attention. Because of the development of C Difficile infections
education on drug resistant should commence at the undergraduate level for all

Tuberculosis and its Role in Research
Erica Lin July 7th, 2015
I. Background
Abstract
Tuberculosis, commonly referred to as TB or consumption, is a dangerous pathogen
caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis). It is the second highest
cause of death, killing off 1.5 million each year. TB victims are normally infected in
the lungs by airborne pathogens and fluids, but other organs can be targeted. There
are two types of TB: active, in which victims are infectious and show symptoms, and
latent, where victims do not show any signs at all, making TB a silent threat that
could manifest in the body without warning.

tuberculosis complex (MTBC). When these bacteria enter our body, adverse effects
could result in potentially lethal consequences. Tuberculosis is normally an airborne
infection, although it can also be transmitted through the bloodstream and tissues.
Viral TB culminates when mycobacteria enter the airstream and attack the body,
particularly the pulmonary alveoli, invading cells and replicating themselves.
Although macrophages attempt to engulf the bacteria and destroy them through
phagocytosis in a process called autophagy, the bacteria s lipid outer coating allow
them to survive and eventually utilize the nutrients originally intended for the cell to
sustain replication within the host macrophage. If the mycobacteria find their way in
through damaged tissue, they can move throughout the body and infect different
areas. Inside of the body, phagocytes and T cells in the body will clump together to
surround and attack infected macrophages, but this supposedly beneficial bodily
response is actually exploited by mycobacteria, who use clumping to block all of the
macrophages at once and ultimately avoid host immune response.
TB is usually transmitted through exposure to others with active tuberculosis
infections. If the infector has active pulmonary TB and performs any action that
expels out salivary or mucous material, that material can transmit the bacteria to
others. The bacteria then
32. Universal Symbolism in Things Fall Apart Essay
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe is a novel written to highlight the intriguing
lives and misconceptions that are often identified with African culture. Achebe
writes Things Fall Apart from the African view, a foreign perspective that sees
westerners as the outsiders and Africans as the insiders. Focusing on a clan in
lower Nigeria, Achebe profiles the clash of cultures that erupts when white
Christians colonize and spread their religious ideals. Achebe is able to make his
book so popular to the entire world because of his expert use of symbols like drums,
locusts, and fire. These common symbols in which drums represent the beat of all
civilization, locusts represent invasion by an outsider, and fire represents destruction,
all aid... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the novel progresses and focuses more on Okonkwo s exile, and the Europeans
arrival, drums are used less frequently. This reduction symbolizes the loss of culture
that Umuofia gradually experiences due to outside forces. Because drums are
universally known for celebration and culture, Achebe uses this symbol to better
connect with his readers and to establish his story on humanity. While drums
represent the culture of the African clan, Achebe also begins to incorporate the
symbol of locusts, which represent the white men coming. Achebe commonly uses
the symbol of locusts to represent and foreshadow the white men coming, and the
clash of opposing cultures that takes place. When the locusts arrive in Umuofia the
entire clan is full of joy because locusts are delicious to eat, however bad for the
crops. Though they arrived after the harvest season had ended, this positive and
negative parallel represents the same questions that are asked when colonizers
arrive to the society. When the locusts first arrive in Umuofia, Achebe explains, the
locusts did descend. They settled on every tree on every blade of grass; they settled
on the roofs and covered the bare ground. Mighty tree branches broke away under
them (129). The repetition of
33. Gambling Addiction
It is hard to help someone who does not know they have a problem, and this is just
another reason why gambling is so hard to stop once it starts. Gambling is
occasionally described as a hidden illness since there are no obvious signs like there
are for someone who does drugs. Because it is the hidden illness, gamblers typically
deny and attempt to hide their gambling(Robinson, 2016). So there are no signs that
a person walking down the street is an intense gambler and he or she will actually
go through great lengths in order to pretend nothing is wrong. Even when people,
such as friends and family, begin to notice and try to help, they will get turned
down because the person who is addicted will not give in to the truth. A person
with a gambling addiction will continue on with gambling away everything until
rock bottom, and still will not think they have a problem. This illness is affecting
thousands, and those who need help are being given up on. It is time to change
society by lending a helping hand and supporting those in need. Although gambling
is a major problem in today s society, many like to think that it s a very rewarding
and worthwhile thing to do. However, through many studies and research, one can
find out that various reasons point to the opposite of the previously stated fact. The
majority of people think that when they finally hit the big jackpot, they are set for
life and that all the money that was previously lost will suddenly come back.

New Insight Into the Placebo and Nocebo Effect In Helen Pilcher s article, The
New Witch Doctors: How Belief Can Kill, she discusses the ethical dilemmas of
the power of patients beliefs in the nocebo and placebo effects. The power of belief
is so strong it can either make the patient feel better or become even sicker. This
causes a problem for doctors because no matter how they state the truth it always
ends up becoming a problem in the end. A placebo is a dummy pill that can produce
a very real response in the patient. This effect convinces people that they will feel
better when in reality they did not take any medication. The expectations of the
patient play an important role in the placebo effect; the more a person expects the...

Doctors should know how to tell a patient what may happen or what side effects
may occur more calmly then abruptly. When a doctor is going to approach the
patient who only has five more years to live, that patient would want his doctor to
be sympathetic about his situation. Because some patients may suffer side effects
when doctors tell them they will, it is the doctor s fault if they feel ill. However,
doctors should still tell patients the truth in a way that keeps up the patients
motivation, and minimizes their anxiety and stress levels. This allows people to be

35. Characteristics Of The Human Auditory System
The human auditory system is one of the most complex and remarkable systems of
the human body. Without all components working in a harmonious manner, a person
can easily become alienated from society. There are four key areas that one needs to
understand in order to comprehend how an individual is able to hear. They include
the outer, middle, and inner ear as well as the central auditory nervous system. The
collaboration of all of these components allow humans to hear sound. One of the most
important concepts to understand, before delving into the anatomy of the human ear,
is what exactly individuals are receiving as the signal that is commonly referred to as
sound. Although there are many definitions for sound, it can be easily understood as
a disturbance in an elastic medium that propagates through the medium in a
longitudinal motion (Darrow 2017). This disturbance occurs in the form of
vibrations. The three characteristics of a sound include intensity, frequency, and
duration, which all play an integral part in how an individual interprets a sound. The
first area that a sound arrives at in its journey to be perceived is the outer ear. At this
point, sound is being transmitted in terms of acoustic energy. The outer ear consists
of two major parts, the pinna and the ear canal. The pinna serves as a funnel, where
several of its cavities act as sound enhancing mechanisms. The ear canal acts as a
quarter length resonator. What this means is that it enhances
36. Life Worthy Of The Calling You Have Received
Live a life worthy of the calling you have received (Ephesians 4:1). In a world
where Christianity is becoming more unusual, it is important for those who are
Christians to possess traits such as maturity, gentleness, patience, and forgiveness.
Unfortunately, sometimes these traits are taken over by our sinfulness. Sin is the
rebellion against the divine law of God. As we look at sin today, we see it as a
system of ranking, however God sees all sin as equal. Knowing this, it becomes
critical that we don t conform to what society does. Some sinful behaviors that
people should be more educated about are sex outside of marriage, homosexuality,
and sarcasm.
As sex becomes more exposed in society, there are many controversial topics. Sex
to some is considered personal and private, while others believe sex is seductive
and it sell. In a survey by The National Health and Social Life it was discovered that
many people say that married sex is the most satisfying. This interesting finds
brings up the topic of God s design for sex. God says that sex is for a
complimentary pair, meaning a man and a woman. God also designed sex to be
inside a permanent union. God created sex for procreation, pleasure, and bonding.
The sexual revolution of the 1960s completely changed what sex looked like in
society. Sex was detached from procreation, marriage, gender, and most importantly
God. This sexual revolution trend still continues today. Many people have sex
outside of marriage, and for some

meant to facilitate the conduit of soviet arms into the region. The U.S government
felt that the Soviet Cuban militarization of Grenada was a significant security threat,
as proven by the abnormally long runway under construction at the airport.
Intelligence sources also indicated soviet interest in the island. The American students
were the most mentioned as the factor that tipped the scales.
The invasion commenced at 0500 hours on the morning of 25th October 1983. This
was after the forces took off from the Grantley Adams International Airport in the
neighboring Barbados islands after a refueling stopover. The Commander of the
American forces during the invasion was Joseph Metcalph III. The U.S forces
comprised of elements from the branches of military service, along with several
special operations teams. The total number of American troops was approximately
7,000; this was bolstered by 300 troops obtained from the Organization of American
States. They were resisted by approximately 1,500 Grenadian troops, together with
approximately 700 Cuban personnel.

This era is known to be Renoir Period and during this time he would produce fake
paintings of Van Gogh, Picasso, and Paul Cezanne, later to be taken about by his
brother Paul Magritte. Throughout Magritte s career his main style was a surrealist
style and he would rarely stray away from this from of work, most of the work that
he had created portrayed similar scenes and recurring themes. Magritte s favorites
happened to be creating a painting inside of a painting, floating rocks, he would also
use many inanimate objects, within a human figure to create the styles that other
artists did not use. Also during Magritte s career he would use famous paintings
created by other artists and put his twist of surrealism on the painting. One of the
most famous paintings he recreated was The Balcony by Edouard Manet. In this
painting Magritte showed his style by changing the images in the original painting to
coffins. He would create unique designs getting the viewers to look outside of the
box and focus on the distinctive features that were not originally

Part one: Dead set 2008
The week one screening of film Dead Set, a horror drama film created by Charlie
Brooker and directed by Yann De mange chronicles a nightmare scenario in which
Britain is taken over by Zombies. It is essentially a spoof on reality television that
depicts both the inside and outside worlds of the UK s version of Big Brother. The
film explores the parallels between zombies and contemporary reality television.
Zombies represent the darker side of human nature (Gadsby, 2011), coinciding with
the idea that reality television has the power to destruct and generate conceptions that
construct the way society thinks.
Brookers film looks at the power of media influence. It reflects the ideology of the
modern day society, where people have become to consumed in media and just like
zombies have their minds set on one thing. This can follow the idea of the
Hypodermic Needle Theory, established by Harold Lasswell in 1920s, which
assumes audiences are passive, and homogenous. The theory assumes that the media
s message is a bullet fired from the media gun into the viewers head (Berger, 1995).
Furthermore, the worlds bullet and needle are used to show the powerlessness of the
audience as media impacts public opinion and behaviour change.
Booker examines the history of reality TV and wants audiences to consider the
capacity of humankind to consume itself via the media s obsession with representing
back to us the
43. Scout and Her Character Development in To Kill a...
...so low I could not have heard it from the sidewalk. Someone inside the house
was laughing. (46) At the beginning of To Kill a Mockingbird, Scout is terrified of
the Radley Place because she is not brave. She hears someone laughing while she
is in the Radley Place after her brother Jem rolled her in a tire their. Through more
experiences, Scout becomes caring and brave. At the beginning of the book Scout
is not very caring or brave. She is not caring because she does not think about
others feelings and how they would feel if she carried out her actions a certain
way. For example, the first summer Dill comes to visit she asks about his father, ...
I haven t got one. Is he dead? No. . . Then if he s not dead, you ve got one haven t
you? Dill blushed... (8) Scout is not being caring because she is not thinking about
Dill s feelings and how awkward it feels for him when she asks about his father.
After Dill says no, it is obvious that the conversation is taking a turn in the wrong
direction and once Dill blushes, it is obvious that he is embarrassed. Also, Scout
is not very brave at the beginning of the book because she is scared of something that
she has no reason to be scared of. For example, when they were rolling tires and Jem
pushed her into the Radley yard, I raised my head and stared at the Radley Place
steps in front of me. I froze. (42) Scout is not being brave because she is scared that
she is in the Radley Place even though she is scared of something
44. Gender And Gender Differences
Men and women are sexually dimorphic: they possess characteristics that differ on
average for males and females of a given species. These attributes can be physical,
but are also seen in behaviour. This is also known as a sex difference. Given that
differences in behaviour between the sexes have long been the subject of social
discourse , it is paramount to examine to what extent these differences are
dependent on society, or whether they have a basis in biology. Here, it is beneficial
to observe the behaviour of children, instead of relying on self reporting this provides
empirical evidence for a sexdifference. They will not have been exposed to as many
potentially gendershaping stimuli as adults have, and so their observation can
provide more accurate results when examining phenomena that cannot normally be
seen. Therefore, it is also of particular use to investigate why some children show
more gender typical behaviour than others. As all behaviour is controlled by the
brain, the terms sex and gender will be used interchangeably, despite some
convictions that the term gender has more social connotations than the term sex .1
Multiple studies (e.g. Snow et al. 1983; Fagot 1978) have shown that when playing,
children prefer using toys perceived as appropriate for their own sex, i.e. boys prefer
playing with maletoys, and girls prefer female toys. At first glance, this choice can
be attributed to societal and cultural influences, yet there is evidence that playing
with gender typical toys is biologically determined. For example, Hines and
Alexander (2002) found that when presented with a variety of male , female and
neutral toys, male vervet monkeys spent more time playing with male toys, and
female vervet monkeys spent more time playing with female toys. These are
primates with no cultural definition of what toys are appropriate for males or
females, or even an understanding of gender. It is therefore most probable that sex
differences in toy choices are biologically based. In fact, they seem to stem from
prenatal exposure to androgens, a phenomenon that has been well documented in
humans. Paterski et al. (2005) report that girls with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
(CAH) showed

The Women of Umuofia in Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
The only women respected in Umuofia are those like Chielo, the priestess of the
Oracle of the Hills and Caves, who is removed from the pale of normalcy. Clothed
in the mystic mantle of the divinity she serves, Chielo transforms from the ordinary;
she can reprimand Okonkwo and even scream curses at him: Beware of exchanging
words with Agbala [the name of the Oracle of the Hills and Caves]. Does a man speak
when a God speaks? Beware! (95). Yet if Okonkwo is powerless before a goddess s
priestess, he can, at least, control his own women. So, when Nwoye s mother asks if
Ikemefuna will be staying long with them, Okonkwo bellows to her: Do what you are
told woman. When did you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the novel, Obi Okonkwo yields to the implacable force of traditional
ethos when choosing between his mother (representing traditionalism), who threatens
to kill herself if he marries an outcast or osu, and the outcast protagonist Clara
(representing the modern female). The pregnant Clara gets an abortion and fades out
of the story. But at least she is cast as an educated, financially independent woman.
She has the makings of a spirited, independent character, by virtue of her overseas
education and profession as a nurse. She can afford to do without Obi Okonkwo.
In A Man of the People, there are images of women playing traditional roles such as
singers and dancers, or women adoring rich politicians like Chief the Honorable M.A.
Nanga. Mrs. Eleanor John, a tough party woman and board member rich,
independent, assertive lamentably is cast as a semiliterate businesswoman with no
noteworthy role. We see Chief Nanga s wife, a beneficiary of the colonial, utilitarian
education, dissatisfied with her husband s extramarital relationship and impending
marriage to the young Edna. Mrs. Nanga complains to Odili, but when the latter sets
out to unseat her husband, she reverts to her traditional role of helpmate fighting to
retain her precarious social and economic position. Consequently, she remains a
dependent, peripheral figure, deriving validity as a human being only from

Potential Effects of Excluding African Religions and Beliefs from Global Discourse
In this paper, I will discuss the implications of excluding African traditions from
the global religious dialogue. First, I will give a brief overview on the deliberation.
Then, I will attempt to present how this exclusion occurs or might occur, while
weaving the Yoruba religious art as an example of the piece of the religious dialogue
that global discourse tends to reference in unique terms and lastly I will attempt to
suggest the implications of exclusing African Religions and Beliefs from Global
discourse..
To begin, my proposal to pursue this discourse stems from the class reading
assignment related to emerging global consciousness as a narrative under a concept
of theory of religion . This sentiment originated from commentary on the emergence
of a new global religion written by Dr. Mark Juergensmeyer in his response to
Sociologist Robert Bellah s Global Religion. He stated:
This will be the bases of the shared experiences that constitute on a global scale the
civil religion of national societies, one that uniquely expresses the character of the
emerging global community but that also has a spiritual dimension drawing from all
the great religions of the world [1]
which in my understanding is a reflection that impresses on a new dimension of a
religious thought, or tradition founded in part on Habermas in envisioning the
actually existing global civil society as well

Introduction
Programming is a skill that is widely specialised in the growing technological
environment/market. There are many programming languages available to the
programmer to use. Some of these are event driven programming and oriented
programming language. Within the programming there are also data types available
to the developer which benefits them and the end user.
This report will embrace why different programming languages have been developed.
It will also compare and contrast event driven programming and object oriented
programming languages. Furthermore it will explain the benefit of having data type s
available to the programmer.
Why different types of programming languages have been developed
Different programming languages have been developed for many different reasons.
A programming language is a language designed to designate a set of actions to be
executed by a computer. A programming language is therefore a practical way of
giving instructions to a computer to operate. Programs are created to control the
behavior of a machine.
50. Rewards before Performance Is Complete
Issue: Can the offer of reward be revoked after the performance has been
completed, before the performance has been completed? England. Rule: Offer of
reward is an offer for a unilateral contract (Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball, the
modern example is Bowerman v Association of British Travel Agents). Intention to
be bound is to be accessed objectively:if a man makes such an offer to an offeree
that a reasonable third party would believe that a valid offer has been made and
with that believe the offeree enters into the contract with the man making the offer,
this man will be bound by his offer. (Smith v Hughes) Offer for a unilateral contract
is accepted by performance of what the offer requires (Carlill v Carbolic Smoke
Ball, the modern example is Bowerman v Association of British Travel Agents).
Acceptance doesn t need to meet any formal requirements, except that it must
make it clear to the offeror that the terms of his were unconditionally accepted. The
acceptance must be a mirror image of the offer (mirror image rule). Acceptance
can be made by conduct. Revocation is always allowed before the offer has been
accepted. Otherwise there would be no consideration. Offer for a unilateral
contract cannot be revoked if the performance has begun, unless it was clearly
stated in the offer that it can be revoked at any time (Luxor (Eastbourne) LTD v
Cooper). Revocation of the offer is to be allowed in very exceptional cases
(Schweppe and Harper case) Application. The offer for a

When one thinks of the subject titled Developmental Psychology , theories from
famous psychologists and their research pop into one s head. This may be the case
but however, Developmental Psychology is undergoing gradual discoveries before
our very eyes. Development is all around us through physical examples such as
children growing to various sources of media displaying themes of this realm of
Psychology. The focus of this paper is to inform and connect Dayton s and Faris
protagonist, Olive Hoover, from motion picture Little Miss Sunshine to Erikson s
Psychosocial Stages of Development. Erikson s theory can be applied to Olive s
current situation because she relates to the Industry (competence) vs. Inferiority stage

When she receives the call of approval to participate, she is overcome with bliss
and excitement. This evidence from the movie shows the Industry (Competence)
side of Erikson s theory because Olive is given the opportunity to contend and feels
acquainted with society s endorsement. As the film progresses, a commencement
of social burdens accompany Olive. In correlation, the major conflict that she
deals with is the demand to triumph the pageant. Feelings of inferiority begin to
arise as Olive becomes self conscious of her body because she believes she needs to
be thin in order to participate in the pageant. The other standpoint of Erikson s
theory, Inferiority , is displayed within Olive as well because if she is not thin
enough for the pageant, ultimately she will lose and doubt her ability. In the end
when Olive faces her foremost trial of partaking in Little Miss Sunshine, Olive
acquires back her sense of worth when she dances on stage with her family. At this
point, Olive feels successful even though she did not win. Olive felt like she was
everything when she had her family (role models) by her
52. Murder in All Its Forms
Murder: And all its forms Throughout the criminal justice system, news, and in many
other situations the term murder is used quite frequently however usually incorrectly.
Some people say animals or even trees get murdered, but under the law it is not
murder unless a human takes the life of another human. Homicideis a lawful term for
any killing of a human being by another human being. Homicide itself is not
automatically a crime, some homicides are legal, such as the justifiable killing of a
suspect by the police or a killing in self defense. Unlawful homicides are classified as
crimes like murderand manslaughter. This paper will explain the important but often
overlooked distinctions between murder and manslaughter, and the... Show more

The defendant could be convicted of 2nd degree murder. Depraved heart murders are
unintentional but extremely reckless murders. For example, playing with a loaded
gun and pointing the gun at another for fun is extremely reckless behavior. If the gun
went off and killed another the defendant was pointing at it could constitute as a 2nd
degree murder charge under the depraved heart murder standard. Manslaughter is the
unlawful killing of another human by a human that does not involve malice
aforethought. The absence of malice aforethought means that manslaughter involves
less moral blame than either first or second degree murder. While manslaughter is a
serious crime, the punishment for it is generally less than that for murder. There are
two main classes or degrees that manslaughter falls under. Those are voluntary and
involuntary manslaughter. Voluntary manslaughter is often what is referred to as a
heat of passion crime. Voluntary manslaughter occurs when a person is strongly
provoked under circumstances that could provoke a reasonable and rationale person,
and kills in the heat of passion aroused by that baiting. An example of this would be
where a husband comes home to find his wife committing adultery. The act provokes
the husband to enter such a heat of rage in that moment that he kills the other man
right then and
53. Shawshank Film Critque
The Shawshank Redemption Film Critique The Shawshank Redemption is a
brilliant story set in the brutal life of Shawshank Penitentiary. The movie has a
very well structured plot; there is a clear beginning, middle, and end Act I, Act II,
and Act III which all come together as a whole to make a great film. In the movie, a
young banker, Andy, is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and is
sentenced to Shawshank Penitentiary. In prison, Andy meets and forms a strong bond
with another convicted killer, Red; the narrator of the story. Red plays an important
role in the prison; he can deliver contraband of almost any type into the prison. This
makes him a vital man within the prison s social structure and it is also the reason
that he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The warden of Shawshank, Norton, also realizes that a man of Andy s skills is
useful. Norton is doing some sort of scam and asks Andy for his help there as well.
One day, Andy hears from another prisoner, Tommy, whose former cellmate had
bragged about killing a rich golfer and a lawyer s wife, and framing the lawyer for
the crime. Upon hearing Tommy s tale, Andy realizes that if this evidence could be
brought before a court, he could be given a new trial and a chance at freedom.
Norton mocks at the story, however, and as soon as possible he makes sure Tommy
pays for his actions. Andy is too constructive and helpful to the warden to be
allowed to go free; furthermore, he knows every element about Norton s corrupt
dealings. After losing his temper with the warden over the issue, and spending a
couple of months in solitary as a result, Andy convince himself that he will never
be set free legally. After many years in prison, Andy shares information with Red
about a mystery secret hidden behind a rock wall, describing exactly how to find
the place and how one day a false identity Peter Stevens will own a small seaside
resort hotel in Mexico. Andy also tells Red that he could use a man who knows how
to get things. Red, confused about why Andy has confided this information in him,
reflects on Andy s continued ability to surprise. So much of the details are important

54. Lord Of The Flies By William Shakespeare
Ralph rolled out onto the beach where the water meets the sand. All he could do
was pray to God that something would save him a ship, a plane, a helicopter,
anything. He looked up and saw nothing but the blue sky. The savages rushed
toward Ralph. He did not run or try to fight. He knew his fate and could only
embrace it. He lay on the sand and waited. Jack stood over Ralph with a satisfied
grin on his face. He turned and faced his Hunters. Everyone! This is what we ve
waited for all day. We will all get a chance to pick at him. But the officials go first!
Me, then Roger, then everyone can sort out the order for themselves! He turned
back to Ralph. Any last words? Ralph looked up to Jack and motioned for him to
come closer. Jack leaned down only to have Ralph spit in his face. Almost
immediately after, Jack thrust his spear into Ralph s neck. His blood flowed freely
and rapidly. And finally, once he lay in a pool of his own blood, he was no more.
Jack and his tribe screamed at the top of their lungs and rejoiced. They were now
the only tribe on the island. Roger walked up to the fresh kill and stuck his spear
into Ralph s forehead. He moved out of the way and the rest of the tribe rushed
toward the dead body. Jack walked away and thought. He had just burned down the
entire island, what is he to do? There were no more pigs or fruit. What would they
eat? How would they bathe? Drink? He cast his worries aside. He d cross that bridge
when he came to it. He turned
55. Political Activism
What motivated conservative women into political activism between 1980 2008?
What organizations and networks did they form? What were their central issues?
After the sexual revolution of the 1960 s and 1970 s, conservatives were becoming
increasingly concerned about the rise of homosexuality and heterosexual
promiscuity prior to marriage. Conservatives were fearful of the immoralities they
were witnessing as well as the liberal notion of people depending on the government
to be a social provider and concerns about the implications of social activism that
they were witnessing. This called for a shift in politics and government. Voters
elected Ronald Reagan as the new president and relied on his promise to restore the

98% of anti ERA activists were members of religious institutions. STOP ERA
continued to grow and other organizations joined in their campaigns. Women and
organizations that typically separated politics from their religious affiliations
joined in the campaign. Suddenly organizations such as Women Who Want to Be
Women, the Family Preservation League, and the National Council of Catholic
Women as well as younger Evangelical Christians, Southern Baptists, Mormons,
Orthodox Jews, and Roman Catholics were rallying in support of STOP ERA. Of
interest to note, the majority of those opposed to ERA were mostly white middle
class women, to be married, over thirty years of age, and had college educations.
Schlafly was also instrumental in leading workshops and trainings to teach
activists how to speak in public and debate as well as offering advice on how to
look good and be poised under pressure. She also drafted and taught ERA rebuttals.
She advised local groups to send young, polished, well dressed, pretty young women
to essentially bribe and flirt with legislators. These legislators were easily influenced
by these women because of their connections to them in the communities that they
lived and attended church. Politicians were willing to cooperate since these women
participated in political campaigns. Essentially they worked to provide a stereotype
that would make feminists look like outcasts. Congress extended its ratification

their ratifications, no further states ratified the amendment and so it never
