have Noticed a certain theme to all the books. Severus Snape is never really
identified as a hero, or as a heel. Through all the books he is performs acts or cruelty
and redeems himself with acts of kindness. He does it in a vise versa manner as well.
It s hard for the reader to out their finger, or their perspective on Severus Snape. The
reader is basically on a rollercoaster ride with Snape.
In the sorcerer s stone, when Harry is partaking in the quittage match between
Gryffindor and Slythern, Harry s Broom goes rouge on him. Hermione and Ron
believe Snape is casting a spell on harry causing The Broom to have a falling out.
They Later find out that it is professor Quirrell who preforming this spell on Harry
s broom, and Snape is really trying to protect Harry. They are also led to Believe
that Snape was the thief of the sorcerer s stone. In this book we get the sense that

Journal 3 In the books, The Titan s Curse and The Battle Of The Labyrinth,
personalities of various characters have been exposed to the reader. In the book
The Titan s Curse, some of the characters were forced to make indelible decisions
because if they make the wrong choice, they will have to live with it forever. At the
end of this book, Percy took a path on which he basically had the world on his
shoulders. He saw the Goddess of the hunters carrying the sky on her shoulders,
and Percy had to take the burden from her so she could fight the God of war. Percy

Members are enrolled in the AmeriCorps National Service Program, serving the
community through environmental restoration in the Midwest. Please describe what
serving your community means to you and provide an example. My second to last
semester at Iowa State I opportunity to do a capstone course where we worked with
a real client. My group worked in Ames, Iowa with Story County Conservation, the
DOT, and landscape architect students. Our job was to create a management plan for
Story County Conservation for a new county park they were building. Story County
Conservation obtained 30 acres of land in west Ames, Iowa, adjacent to the Iowa
State Research Park and we created a document that described the general information
regarding the property, current and historic uses, and and the results of the initial on
site assessment done on the property. The final section of the document laid out the
management recommendations regarding prairie establishment, tree removal, habitat,
streambank stabilization, and stream bioengineering. I was in charge of designing a
buffer along the stream for bank stabilization and the stream bioengineering project. I
worked with the DOT and their hydrologist and talked with them about combining
natural resource and engineering thinking together.
