Essay On Ideology
Crafting an essay on the topic of ideology can be a challenging endeavor that requires a nuanced
understanding of political, social, and philosophical concepts. Ideology, being a multifaceted and
dynamic subject, demands meticulous research and thoughtful analysis to produce a
comprehensive and well-argued essay.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the vast landscape of ideologies that have shaped
human societies throughout history. Whether exploring political ideologies such as liberalism,
conservatism, socialism, or delving into more abstract ideologies like existentialism or feminism,
the writer must grapple with diverse and sometimes conflicting perspectives.
Moreover, the task of defining and conceptualizing ideology itself can be intricate. It is not a
monolithic concept but rather a complex interplay of ideas, values, and beliefs that influence
individuals and societies. This requires a thorough exploration of the historical context, the
evolution of ideologies, and their impact on shaping cultural and political landscapes.
Constructing a coherent argument and presenting well-supported evidence is another challenge.
The essay must not only articulate a clear thesis but also provide compelling examples and
references to bolster the arguments. Balancing depth and breadth in the exploration of ideologies
adds an additional layer of difficulty, as it requires a delicate touch to avoid oversimplification
or excessive detail.
Incorporating current events and contemporary perspectives into the essay adds another layer of
complexity. Ideologies are not static; they evolve over time, responding to societal changes and
emerging issues. Addressing these dynamic aspects requires staying informed about current
affairs and integrating relevant developments into the analysis.
In conclusion, writing an essay on ideology demands intellectual rigor, research skills, and the
ability to synthesize complex information. Navigating through the diverse array of ideologies,
defining the concept itself, constructing a compelling argument, and staying attuned to
contemporary developments all contribute to the difficulty of this task. However, with
dedication and a systematic approach, it is possible to produce a thought-provoking and
insightful essay on this intricate subject.

Emily Dickinson s I Heard A Fly Buzz
Gothic style literature, a style of literature characterized by gloomy, grotesque and
mysterious that are often accompanied by violent or startling imagery is the theme
for most of Emily Dickinson s creation. The authenticity of Emily Dickinson s death
obsessed poems demonstrates a profound emotion that projects a revolting persona.
This persona is visible through her poem: I heard a Fly buzz when I died.
Dickinson s poem I heard a Fly buzz when I died is a perfect exemplar of Dickinson
s revolting persona. Equipped with isolating dashes that swiftly changes the mood on
each line, Dickinson portrayed a death scenario that described the atmosphere around
a dying person. In the beginning of the poem, Dickinson utilizes the phrase Stillness
in the room was like the Stillness in the Air. This phrase implies the relative silence
around a person s dying state, likely, due to the gradual fading senses of a dying
person. Additionally, in this line, Dickinson capitalized the word stillness
purposefully to depict near death sensation. As the poem continues ... Show more

It is crucial to understand that during the years that gothic mode literature was
flourishing, the presence of wars and different illnesses that plagued the world
forced most people to accept death as a natural occurrence in daily life. Yet,
Dickinson s poems like I heard a Fly buzz when I died, evokes a seemingly
antagonistic resistance to this notion through the manifestation of her alter ego as a
person interrupted in death by people suffering and in misery because of the loss.
This reveals the relative weakness of mankind in succumbing to a profound
depression in response to a beloved s death. Hence, Dickinson s poem that juxtaposes
both grief and acceptance relayed an awakening message to the world: that death is
no simple event but is rather an agonizing
The Ideal American Family Analysis
As stated in an article by Kimi Kennedy entitled Television: The Ideal American
Family, most American families portrayed on television in the late 40s and early
50s consisted of a husband, wife and 2.5 kids (Kennedy). In Arthur Miller s Death of
a Salesman, the Loman family seems to perfectly fit the mold of a familyliving the
American dream; however, the actions of the family show that everything is not what
it seems. Although the Lomans appear to be the ideal family of the time, the way in
which the family treats each other directly contrast with other fictional families of the
time. The family s treatment of Happy exemplifies the lack of attention given to
some children within American families. Throughout the play, Happy often takes a
back seat to Biff when it comes to getting his parents attention. In Act I on pages

Willy is conflicted about his feelings toward Biff. On page 1844, while talking to
Linda, Willy goes from saying, The trouble is he s lazy... to saying That s one
thing about Biff he s not lazy in a matter of seconds (Miller). Biff also feels
conflicted about his father. Biff cannot seem to decide if he really loves his father or
not. On page 1864, Biff is confident in his love toward his mother yet, the love he
feels for his father seems to be an afterthought (Miller).
The Loman family seems like the ideal American family based on television in the
1940s and 50s. Willy, Linda, Biff, and Happy, however, do not get along very well
and most they all have secrets that they keep from each other. The Lomans first
appear to be a typical fictional family of the time consisting of a mother, father, and
two children, but soon show their flaws. Arthur Miller breaks the mold for the
fictional families of the time in his play Death of a Salesman by highlighting the
flaws and downfalls of each member of the
Essay On Wan Technologies
As the world progresses technology everyday, the reliance on the Internet and its
uses become more and more necessary. Many people connect to hundreds of
applications and devices they use every single day. Behind these applications are
extremely complex networks that allow users to connect in ways that expand every
single day. To achieve this, companies must design their networks for secure access
and reliability to allow seamless access for users. On the back end these companies
must also have a secure network in place for their offices, remote workers, and any
other remote resource to access confidential materials and other sensitive matter. This
can be accomplished through a variety of WAN technologies that are used in the
world today.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With frame relay the user only has to pay for the local loop and the allotted
bandwidth they purchased. Since these loops are shared between many users the
cost is reduced. Frame Relay provides a better alternative because it only requires a
single point of access. From that point of access the Frame Relay allows the sites
to connect together. On top of the overall cost, it is also much simpler to configure
which results in less overhead yet again. The connections were simpler to establish
because Customer Service Equipment or CPE would be configured and linked to
the ISPs Frame relay switch. This allowed end user configuration management to
be simple and straightforward. Besides cost savings, Frame relay is also more
reliable and provides more bandwidth than private/leased lines. Frame relay
provides greater flexibility versus leased lines by using Virtual Circuits or VCs. As
communication is desired between locations, a connection to a Virtual Circuit is
formed. In this process each end point connection uses a Data Link Connection
Identifier or DLCI which acts as an address for the end point. Data sent through the
relay is taken from the network layer of the OSI model and is then encapsulated
through the data portion of the frame relay frame. Once this is done, the frame is
then sent to the physical layer for delivery. Within the packet there will be an address
field that includes the DLCI and checksum to show where the packet needs to go.

Construction Projects Of Saudi Arabia
For a project to be successfully completed before due dates and keeping budget under
control optimum utilization of resources is necessary; however, these limits may
sometimes surpass. A significant variance may be there between certain assumptions
made during initial planning of project and final outcomes. Unforeseen and unknown
changes in construction methods, materials, techniques, or human resources may
create budgetary and scheduling pressures which may increase the possibility of
failure (Zeng et al., 2007). According to a survey exploring completion of
construction projects in Saudi Arabia showed that 76% of projectcontractors
experienced delays of 10 30% of the projected duration (Assaf and Al Hejji, 2006).

In another approach for assisting construction planners in making time cost trade off
decisions. This new approach, named the LP/IP hybrid method, is a combination of
linear and integer programming. The LP/IP hybrid method first establishes the lower
bound of the time cost relationship of a project using linear programming. Based on
the linear programming solutions, regions of desired time and cost can be selected
to find the exact solutions by integer programming in a fraction of the time required
to solve the entire problem using only integer programming. This combination of
linear and integer programming provides the efficiency and accuracy for solving
time cost trade off problems. In addition, the lengthy and error prone process of
formulating linear and integer programming objective functions and constraints are
replaced by a spreadsheet tool so that users can intuitively define time cost and
precedence relationships for activities. The LP/IP hybrid method along with the
spreadsheet tool provides construction planners with a new and efficient means of
making good time cost decisions. Detailed description of the LP/IP hybrid method is
provided and an example is given to demonstrate the use of this new method.

Why Wind Turbines Have Caused Such Controversy in
Puerto Rico
Wind Turbines: Why has it caused so much controversy in Puerto Rico?
As the Law of Conservation states, energy can be neither created nor destroyed
(The Secret Lives of Energy). That means that an energy source has to be use in
order to generate the energy needed. It is common knowledge that the pollution
caused by the use of fossil fuels over time is making society live in a contaminated
world. In addition, the cost of the use of fossil fuels is increasing and becoming too
expensive, forcing people to find alternate ways in which they can pay less for the
use of energy. The use of fossil fuels over time has increased to a point where the
remaining reservoirs have decreased by a large margin. On the other hand, renewable
energy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is considered green energy because it uses resources the Earth will replace and
does not pollute nor harm the environment (Alliant Energy). Fossil fuels, which are
fuels found under the Earth s ground, such as petroleum, cannot be replaced and
cause large levels of pollution (SF Environment). One of the renewable sources
causing the most controversies in Puerto Rico is the wind. In order to use the wind
to generate power, also known as Aeolic energy, wind turbines are needed.
According to research done by Discovery News, in January 25, 2013, the top 10
countries, by order of most demand and use of wind energy, are: China, United States,
Germany, Spain, India, Italy, France, Canada, Brazil, and Denmark. All of these
countries are investing money in wind turbine projects because, in the long run, it is
going to benefit them from both the economic and ecofriendly point of view
(Discovery News). In addition to these top ten countries in the world, there are more
countries that have, or are, investing in these types of projects, since this is the future
and correct path for the use Renewable Energy as a replacement for fossil fuels.
Fossil fuels are harming the environment to the point where in a short amount of time
it is going to be almost impossible to live on Earth because of the catastrophic
changes the pollution will cause. (Environmental and Energy Study Institute). The

Characterism And Characteristics Of A Utilitarian In...
In Wayans Brother, the dilemma occurs when Pops (the father s) sons think their
father is cheating on his wife but, he isn t. On the show Pops is seeing a woman to
help him improve with his dancing moves, to prepare him to dance well for him
and his wife anniversary. But his two sons Marlon and Shawn thinks that their Dad
is cheating because Dee the security Gard suspect him of cheating when really, he
is not. The sons have the option to let the situation play out for itself in not say
anything or do something and stop their Dad from interacting with the lady, which
can relate to Characteristics of a utilitarian, but critics like a virtue ethic would
disagree and could be wrong. The son s notice that their dad has been coming
home late to their mother. Because their mom called Marlon and ask what time
will their father get off. Right before their mom called the dad was dressed up
ready to go somewhere but not staying later for work. While the boys were at work
they were talking to the lady which is the hotel security grad name, Dee who
suspect that she thinks that the dad is cheating. By Dee having the characteristics
of a virtue person a virtuous person is someone who is kind across many situations
over a lifetime because that is her character and not because she wants to maximize
utility or gain favors or simply do her duty (Wrenn). So, Shawn and Marlon decided
to go spy on their dad. Pops is seeing this lady, which is a dance teacher that they
have never seen before.
Positive Classroom Management
A. The teacher classroom manages the classroom in an extremely positive manner,
and is strong on positive reinforcements. When she speaks to her students, her voice
is soft and calm which allows her students to remain calm to correct their behavior.
Students are aware of the classroom expectations and the proper behavior when they
are working with other students. When the class is transitoning between activities
she is clear with what they are expected to do, and how it should look like. When
the whole class is not able to complete the task she does ask them to correct the
behavior and allows them a second opportunity to successfully transition. Positive
classroom management shows that students behave in a positive way and are less

F. The procedure for sharpening pencilwas the responsibility of students to have a
couple of pencils ready in their pencil box. When they needed a new pencil, they take
their old pencil to the jar with dual pencil and take one pencil from the jar with

sharpening pencils during class.
G. Students are responsible for completing class assignments and homework at the

their teachers they have completed their assignment is by reading a book and taking
out their star card. When they receive their star they turn in the form with the table

he or she has collected to the back table. The procedures for collecting assignment
is placed in the responsibility of the table leader, and every week a new table leader
is assigned to give every student an opportunity to have the
Stanislavski s Method Of Acting
Inward than outward Constantin Stanislavski believes that The Method is the most
powerful acting technique. In fact, An Actors Prepares Stanislavski states:
The actor must recreate his work, each time he repeats his part, with sincerity, truth,
and directness. It is only on that condition that he will be able to free his art from
mechanical and stereotyped acting, from tricks and all forms of artificiality. If he
accomplishes this, he will have real people and real life all around him on the stage,
and living art which has been purified from all debasing elements. (Constantin
Stanislavski)

Solitude can be important to bring out creativity, and lead to the creation of forth
wall. The illusion that the actor can create to have solitude is the fourth wall on
stage. The four wall is an imagery wall that exists between the actor and audience.
In addition, solitude can allow an actor to be in his or her mind. The mind is very
powerful because it allows an actor to bring forth the imagery forth wall in the
outside world. Thirdly, if an actor doesn t use inner purpose or solitude one would
overact to compensate for lack of using a technique called The Method . In fact,
overacting is an unnecessary exaggeration of a character in a play. Overacting can
be perceived as a façade or even having a lack of emotions. Stanislavski is against
overacting because it uses an artificial façade by only using only outward
appearance. In fact, when an actor just focuses on outward appearance the actor can
forget their inward purpose. Stanislavski was a very important theatre teacher during
his time. He created The Method to bring out emotions in an actor. In An Actor
Prepares it can be concluded that an actor must have an inward purpose, solitude, and
overcome overacting. Understanding those three aspects can bring light to
Stanislavski s The Method . The method is powerful because it uses inward technique
to make an actor s acting more
The Legal Drinking Age Should Be Legal Essay
People drink liquor for various reasons; anxiety, celebration, insomnia etc.
Teenagers fall under the category of people . The legal drinking age presently is
twenty one in the United States Of America. I can guarantee you that the underage
drinking age rate would drop if the age were brought down. One of the reasons
behind drinking is enjoyment but the primary purpose behind underage drinking is
breaking the law . The law says an eighteen year old is mature enough to make his
/her life decisions, yet not ready to drink liquor. In the United Statesthere are
different rules for various ages, however when a person turns 18 they tend to move
out of their parents and start to begin their own life with their friends. Eighteen
year olds have the privilege to vote, get married, and serve in the military, and
those even younger than eighteen can drive and become parents. Therefore, it
appears to be odd and contradictory for them to not be able to purchase alcohol. We
as a whole know why teenagers usually drink. Simply the vibe that they get of
breaking the law is huge. Being rebellious and not following the principles is an
essential part of a teenager. Regardless of the fact that it is illegal for teens to
purchase alcoholic beverages, they are still able to get it through their parent s
cupboards, or from their senior friends who purchase it for them. We as a whole
observe, that is not hard for teens to get liquor. Why not bring down the drinking age
then?

The Diversity Within The Workplace Essay
INTRODUCTION
The need for one organization to outperform the others has given rise to a diverse
workforce comprising of different individuals who significantly differ from one
another. Diversity in the workplace has been defined as the differences and
similarities among the employees that make up an organization in terms of age,
cultural background, sex, religion (Anon., n.d.). The diversity in the workplace in
terms of age is more often referred to as generational diversity.
The desire by some to stay and work longer has led to the current workforce capturing
many generations. With countries such as the US capturing as many as 5 distinct
generations, others have been able to capture 4 and 3. The various generations
segment the different age ranges into generations generally governed by different
attitudes to work, preferences and value systems. The attitude, preference, and values
held by any generation affect the way they approach their works. 21st century
organizations tend to prefer managers who can deal with the different generations as
they have different characteristics and present diverse challenges. The attitude of the
various generations greatly differs in the workplace. The generations in the workforce
have been segmented into the following demographics: the Traditionalists (also
known as the silent generation or the greatest generation); the baby boomers;
generation X; generation Y (also known as Millennial), and finally generation Z. An
understanding of these
The Pros And Cons Of Television Shows
If you have ever watched TV, you might notice many commonalities and trends
between many of the TV shows that are on air. The shows usually follow similar
storylines of a protagonist (usually male) who struggles with their own moral
values, usually stirring up trouble for themselves and those around them. Now you
re probably asking yourself: Hm I wonder why so many shows follow similar
patterns? Well the answer to that question is because of YOU! It s all your fault
that TV can be so monotonous and repetitive. You are a part of a giant collective
that drives what TV shows are being shown, what TV shows are being cancelled,
and even when TV shows are being played. You are a part of the audience. The
audience is what drives TV shows to be the entertaining platforms that they are meant
to be, but they are also the most crippling aspect of the televisionitself.
If I wanted to pitch a TV show to a TV network, the script would be immediately
thrown in the trash. This is because I am nowhere to be found in the hierarchy of the
television network. The television hierarchy makes it almost impossible for lesser
known writers and producers to release their work on popular networks. Also, newer
shows do not get as much of a fighting chance as others because these new shows
must compete with other popular TV shows for the best time slots, therefore getting
less viewers, increasing the chance the network pulls the plug on new shows.
When TV networks try to decide what shows to put on

The battle of five forks South General Robert E. LeeВґs supply line to Petersburg,
Virginia, is not open when North (union) forces under General Ulysses S. Grant
closes down the end of LeeВґs lines close to Petersburg. The South suffer large
casualties, and the war triggered LeeВґs withdraw from Petersburg as the two armies
started a race that would close a week later at Appomattox Court House. For close to
a year, Grant had laid siege to LeeВґs team in an elaborate network of trenches that
ran from Petersburg to the Confederate capital at Richmond, 25 miles north. Lee s
hungry army steadily diminished through the winter of 1864 65 as Grant s army
swelled with well fed reinforcements. On March 25, Lee attacked some of the North
trenches at Fort Stedman in a desperate attempt to break the siege... Show more

mile front. Southwest of Petersburg, Grant ordered General Philip Sheridan agianst
Lee s right flank. Sheridan relocated on March 31, but the tough Confederates
stopped his advance. Sheridan moved troops to cut the railroad that ran from the
southwest to Petersburg, but the focus of the battle became Five Forks, a road
intersection that provided the provided the key to Lee s supply line. Lee told his
commander there, General George Pickett, to Hold Five Forks at all hazards. On
April 1, Sheridan s men banged into Pickett s army. Pickett had his army badly
positioned, and he was taking a large lunch with his crew when the war happened.
General Gouverneur K. Warren s V Corps helped Sheridan, and the 27,000 North
soldiers soon demolished Pickett s

Disadvantages Of Plyometric Training
Plyometric training is a modality which requires highly coordinated and skillful
movements such as bounding, jumping, hopping and skipping. The stretch
shortening cycle is an essential for plyometric training and can be described as
muscle undergoing eccentric contraction; then transitioning into concentric
contraction. Fast and slow plyometric movements are two categories plyometricscan
be separated into depending upon the duration of ground contact time. The training
volume for this type of exercisecan be measured easily but measuring intensity is
more complex due to individual variability. Athletes who compete in sports such as
football, basketball, soccer, and track and field can benefit from plyometric training
in several ways. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mode of plyometric training is determined by the region of the body the individual
is performing the exercise. The intensity is the amount of stress placed on muscles,
connective tissues, and joints in a drill. The intensity of plyometric training can
vary depending on the athlete and precise consideration should be given when
choosing proper drills during a specific cycle. Plyometric frequency can vary
depending on the demand of the sport. According to Essential of Strength Training
and Conditioning, researchers suggest forty eight to seventy two hours between
plyometric training sessions is a typical recovery time guideline for prescribing
plyometrics. (Haff, 2016) Plyometric training drills involve maximal effort from
the athlete to improve anaerobic power, and adequate recovery. For example,
recovery for depth jumps may consist of 5 10 seconds of rest between repetitions
and 2 3 minutes between sets. (Haff, 2016) Plyometric volume is the number of
repetitions and sets performed during a training session. Recommended lower body
plyometric volumes is given as number of foot contacts and can vary at different
levels of experience for athletes. The upper body volume is the number of throws or
catches per session. The plyometric training program should progress from, low to
moderate volumes of

Dissociative identity disorder involves Two or more distinct identities in only one

The Need for International Labor Standards Essay
The Need for International Labor Standards
The statesman, who should attempt to direct private people in what manner they
ought to employ their capitals, would not only load himself with a most unnecessary
attention, but assume an authority which could safely be trusted, not only to no
single person, but to no single council or senate whatever, and which would nowhere
be so dangerous as in the hands of a man who had folly and presumption enough to
fancy himself fit to exercise it (Smith, 1776: 456)

A Brief History of Labor Standards
In order to provide a clearer understanding of the need for labor standards in the
international trade regime it is prudent to examine the historical background of the
issue. The first legal link made between trade and labor standards in the United
States manifested itself in the form of legislation designed to reduce the threat of
foreign goods being dumped into U.S. markets. The first laws were implemented to
this end in 1890, when the McKinley Tariff Act banned the import of goods made
with prison labor (International Labor Rights Fund). However, concern for labor
rights was merely a convenient byproduct of this legislation. In 1930 Congress took
another step by passing into law the U.S. Tariff Act of 1930, which banned the
import of goods made with forced or indentured labor.
The postwar era brought about a more multinational approach to dealing with trade
issues, most notably in the establishment of the General Agreement on Tariffs and
Trade (GATT) in 1948. Although there were high hopes that international labor
standards could be established, the GATT made only vague references to the issue,
and no concrete and enforceable standards were established. Thus, there was no
provision for member states to take action against other members who

If the Panel determines that the hail damage warrants repair instead of a full roof

In Cedar Bluff Townhome Condominium Association, Inc. V. American Family, 857

rules with the so called matching issue. In Cedar Bluff, the issue was whether or not
siding panels on the 20 buildings comprising that Association would require full
replacement in some cases, in order to achieve a color match. Noting that the subject
policy required replacement costs to be determined to replace property of comparable
material and quality , and noted that the subject term meant that available material
must be suitable for matching . Id. at 294. The appraisal panel, in that case, used term
reasonable match , which term was upheld by the Minnesota Supreme Court. Id. at

Canadian Reads
Reading contributes to a major part in a high school student s life. Whether it s
reading a textbook, notes, a novel, or even posts on social medias, we are
continually absorbing new information through reading. Canada Reads hosted by
CBC has celebrated reading while distinguishing marvellous works of Canadian
literature for the past fourteen years. This annual Battle of the books features five
novels consisting of a common theme. Over a four day span representatives for
each novel will debate why their book should become victorious. In the end they will
have chosen one book they believe all Canadians should read. Taking part in this
event was unremarkable. I was able to learn new things while simultaneously
improving my reading and writing. Consequently, CanadaReads should become a
part of the grade eleven curriculum due to its positive impact on high school
students. Prior to being introduced to Canada Reads in class I had no idea what it
was. Now that I have had the fortunate experience of taking part I hope to follow it
in the years to come. Participating in this events as a class broadened our Canadian
identity. Assisting us to familiarize ourselves with Canadian authors, their books as
well as the representatives defending their novels. As we each selected a novel to

Elastoderma Studies
Elastoderma is a rare skin disease that creates abnormal structural makeup of elasticity
tissue. The mechanism of this disease is excessive accumulation with an unknown
cause. This article focuses on a research study conducted using a variety of different
methods to identify the difference in skin affected by Elastoderma compared to that
of unaffected skin. The physical examination revealed that during an inspection the
skin revealed pendulous and had a visible irregular contour. When the turgor of the
skin was being assessed it was irregularly firm and lacked consistency compared to
the unaffected arm. The recoil is prolonged compared to the unaffected arm. This
disease has proven to only affect the integumentary system based on lab results

Los Angeles Riots 1992
The Los Angeles Riots of 1992 caused an uproar in the United States due to all the
violence, and cost the state of California over a billion dollars in damage
(history.com). The Riots were caused by a video that was leaked to the public of a
black man that was assaulted by LAPD officers. Chaos raged on the streets of Los
Angeles for a total of three days until the President of the United States stepped in to
bring some order back to the city.
On March 3rd of 1991, Rodney King, a felon on parole, led four LAPD officers on a
high speed chase through the streets of Los Angeles before finally surrendering. The
officers found Rodney to be intoxicated, upon trying to arrest him he was

Researchers performed a single blind randomized trial with 665 patients with major
depressive disorder. Participants received one of the three treatments: escitalopram
plus placebo, bupropion sustained release plus escitalopram, or venlafaxine extended
release (XR) plus mirtazapine. They used the Concise Health Risk Tracking Self
Report to measure suicidal ideation and behaviors. The researchers found that
baseline ideation did not contribute to elevated suicide risks. They also found that the
treatment group that was taking Bupropion SR with escitalopram had the greatest
effect in reducing suicide ideation. Although this study does not pertain to the
adolescent population, it is useful because it demonstrates the most effective

English As A Symbol Of Power And High Social Status
INTRODUCTION
Education is a nation building and globally inter related activity that unlocks the door
to modernization. It is imparted through formal, informal and non formal ways. For
this purpose, there is a need of interaction among the students, teachers and study
material. Usually, educational system at the primary level follows the medium of
instructions in the mother tongue. But at the secondary level, the students are
required to learn one or two unfamiliar languages i.e. English and Urdu. In Pakistan,
the students have to study English as a compulsory subject from K.G to graduation
level due to the following reasons:
i.English is a mean of understanding the foreign and higher educational work. ii.
English is an international language used in research, commerce, aviation, diplomacy
and source of scientific and technological advancement. iii. English is a symbol of
power and high social status. (Rehman, 2004)
Language is no doubt an essential part of human life. It is used as a means of
communication. Language has been defined in many ways. Some of these are as a
language is a system of arbitrary vocal symbols by means of which a social group
operates (Pahuja, 1994). With the arrival of British in the sub continent, English
replaced the languages of learning and education such as Arabic, Persian and
Sanskrit. A turning point in the socio political history of the sub continent was Lord
Macaulay s decision in 1835 to favour English and bring an end to the
Loyalty In Faulkner s Barn Burning
The strongest theme in the story Barn Burning, represented to me is of loyalty to
family versus doing what is right. Sartoris must decide whether loyalty to family
or doing the right thing is ethically an essential thing. For Abner, Sartoris s father,
family loyalty is prized above all else. You got to learn to stick to your own blood or
you ain t going to have any blood to stick to you (Faulkner, William 1939). Their
familyappears to exist separate to the society of the time, and their principles
appeared founded on family loyalty as opposed to the traditional value of right over
wrong, which also caused them to rely on one another for support.
Blood is used to underscore the strength of the tie within the family. One instance

is that fear is the very essence of something that is believed to be harmful,
destructive, and painful. It is an unknown variable whether being physical,
emotional, or spiritual in which it can frightens one s self of self imagination, or
even their own very reality. To continue and explain on how Marie lives in a life of

The Plague by Albert Camus Essay
The Plague by Albert Camus
Albert Camus The Plague, takes place in the desert town of Oran, Algeria, in northern
Africa. It is the perfect setting for this story to take place. The ordinariness of Oran is

There is a mythic significance of Oran. Given the previous description of the quality

Vital living can be stifled by habits. Todd suggests that It is at this point that one
should revolt against his stultifying pattern of living. Recognition of bottomless
death makes a habit bound life even more absurd (Todd 165). Considering that they
are completely unaware of anything around them, it is easy to see that the disease
captures the city completely by surprise; no one is prepared for it. Doctors gather
to discuss the matter. They have trouble naming the disease at first, and refuse to
accept it for what it is. This reflects the whole attitude of the town, as the citizens
do they very same thing. Doctors in particular are the first attempt to combat the
disease. The individual efforts are valiant but have a negligible effect. An epidemic
is a problem, which belongs not to a person but to people. It becomes apparent,
however that it cannot merely be one who must oppose the plague. No matter what
the doctors do one their own, they cannot stop the dying. The number of victims lost

any possible discussion, represent the transition from an attitude of solitary revolt to
the recognition of a community whose struggles must be shared (Sprintzen 103).

from 13 ages. Many teens use alcohols. Some of them try it just for one time, and
they can

reasons.
In my opinion, they should not use them in their early ages because it is bad for

The Purpose Of The Rational Choice Theory
The Rational Choice Theory is based on the classical theory but as an addition to
make it more current (Bohm Vogel, 2011). The basis of the rational choice theory
is that a person will consider the risks versus rewards before committing a crime
(Bohm Vogel, 2011). Created by Cornish Clark, there are three principals that add
to the classical theory (Bohm Vogel, 2011). The first principal is that all people are
not always based on reasons. The second principal is that when weighing the risks,
people do not just consider judicial punishment, but they also consider other factors
such as being rejected by family and friends or jeopardizing their employment (Bohm
Vogel, 2011). The third principal basically states that the way people

their looks, not because of their customer service or interest in the business.
Working at Studio 52 was like going to a party every time they went to work.
Which was probably fun for a little while, but not a lasting career. The company
culture regarding employees was not focused on respect or employee s interests.
They promoted drug use just to make sure their employees were considered
enjoyable. I don t think the employees were valued as family members or important
people, they seemed to only be valued for their looks and their ability to party. The
customers of Studio 52 were considered influential and important. I think Studio 52
respected their status, but I think they were mainly targeted because of their ability to
influence people and because they had money to spend. By maintaining wealthy
customers, they were probably able to make larger profits and assuming the

Transactional leaders gain loyalty by forming agreements and working with their
followers (Brusseau, 2012). I would consider D Alessio more of a transformational
leader. She gained loyalty by providing an exciting place to work. Her employees
were willing to walk around nearly naked, mingling with wealthy customers while on
drugs. She didn t try to work with them or ask them what they want out of their job.
She gave them her expectations and they went with them without question, although

Education Can End Systematic Oppression
The subject of expectations for higher education is one that tends to spark
impassioned debate among educators, students and parents alike. In Pedagogy of
the Oppressed Paulo Freire presses his audience to consider such expectations in
light of one s own intentions, motives, and affections toward those to be educated
(Freire 50). He goes even further to suggest that a love for one another through
empathetic dialogue, especially on the part of the educator, must be present in
order for fear to be wiped away and liberation to eventually take its place (Freire
89,90). It was that dialogical approach that made Freire s literacy programs so
successful in Brazil until his work was interrupted by a military dictatorship in the

For children without the advantage of origin of birth, struggles throughout the
formative years will affect their learning process and expectations for the future.
Many immigrant children suffer the same disadvantages as children in poverty. This
fact should not be ignored when considering expectations for a future college
degree. Freire posits that the cycle of dehumanization can only be broken when a
radical posture is taken by the oppressor, a posture in which the oppressor enters into
the situation of the oppressed through humility (44, 48, 49). An empathetic approach
to individuals is essential if we are to understand the challenges they face and have a
realistic hope for future success and change. The oppressed in our society also
include individuals who have suffered abuse and neglect. Hundreds of thousands of
children have been placed in the foster care system due to an array of maltreatment
(Child Welfare). Children who are neglected do not experience the same
developmental advantages as children raised in a nurturing environment. Research
has shown that neglect in the early years of life affects a child s brain development
(Hamilton). Studies have also shown that the impact of neglect may become more
severe as a child grows older and eventually have lasting effects on intellectual,
behavioral, social, and cognitive development (DePanfilis). Acknowledging the

meeting God up above. While aging, he lost his creativity he had and wrote about his
fearof death and how the spark of imagination fled his mind (Greiner, Donald J.
Robert Frost. ). Known for his oft quoted poetryand four Pulitzer prizes, Robert
Frost, born in 1874, wrote poetry about winter. Numerous people know him for his
poetry, praised his work, but others frowned upon it. He used vivid imagery and
dramatized tension in his poetry; it is what made the poems so powerful, yet so

Dbq Essay On Ancient China
During the period of ancient chia there were many philosophers who saw their own
views upon the ways of which china was to be run. With the time there were many
rulers which lead their views on china s government and its exploits and so with
these views came counterviews. There were those who saw a new way to run china
for bad or for worse such as two famous philosophers named Confuciusand Han Fei.
Confucius wanted china to be run with peaceful yet firm rules and restrictions
whereby the people of chia would act in such a way that was thought to be most
moral and respectful. A quote from the analects of Confucius (Doc 1.) says Lead the
people with governmental measures and regulate them with laws and punishment,
and they will avoid wrongdoing but will have no sense of honor and shame.... Show

However there were of course the views of the great Han Fei who wanted china to
maintain it with powerful government interaction. According to (Doc.3) Han Fei
Says To govern the state by law is to praise the right and blame the wrong. This
means that if there is to be control and order there must be an extreme distinction
between right and wrong. The government must not depend on its citizens to just
respect there ruler they must enforce it. The difference between the two men s
philosophy s would be this while Confucius relies on its citizens to respect its
leader if the leader rules with goodness and respect Han doesn t rely in his citizens
to do good but enforces them to do good. As can be seen the two philosophers had
different but effective ways to lead ancient
The Oedipus Trials
A plague has stricken Thebes. The citizens gather outside the palace of their king,
Oedipus, asking him to take action. Oedipus replies that he already sent his brother
in law, Creon, to the oracle at Delphi to learn how to help the city. Creon returns
with a message from the oracle: the plague will end when the murderer of Laius,
former king of Thebes, is caught and expelled; the murderer is within the city.
Oedipusquestions Creon about the murder of Laius, who was killed by thieves on
his way to consult an oracle. Only one of his fellow travelers escaped alive. Oedipus
promises to solve the mystery of Laius s death, vowing to curse and drive out the
murderer.
Oedipus sends for Tiresias, the blind prophet, and asks him what he knows ... Show

Jocasta rejoices, convinced that Polybus s death from natural causes has disproved
the prophecy that Oedipus would murder his father. At Jocasta s summons, Oedipus
comes outside, hears the news, and rejoices with her. He now feels much more
inclined to agree with the queen in deeming prophecies worthless and viewing
chance as the principle governing the world. But while Oedipus finds great comfort
in the fact that one half of the prophecy has been disproved, he still fears the other
half the half that claimed he would sleep with his mother.
The messenger remarks that Oedipus need not worry, because Polybus and his
wife, Merope, are not Oedipus s biological parents. The messenger, a shepherd by
profession, knows firsthand that Oedipus came to Corinth as an orphan. One day
long ago, he was tending his sheep when another shepherd approached him carrying
a baby, its ankles pinned together. The messenger took the baby to the royal family
of Corinth, and they raised him as their own. That baby was Oedipus. Oedipus asks
who the other shepherd was, and the messenger answers that he was a servant of
Laius.
Oedipus asks that this shepherd be brought forth to testify, but Jocasta, beginning to
suspect the truth, begs her husband not to seek more information. She runs back into
the palace. The shepherd then enters. Oedipus interrogates him, asking who gave him
the baby. The
Similarities Between Secular And Secular Music
Secular music and music intended for mass both played important roles in medieval
culture. For a while, the only music was made for worship. There were certain themes
and purposes that shaped church music to be the way that it was and the same with
non religious music, each had a purpose. There are characteristics of each that
separate them from each other and then some characteristics that make them one. One
would not be the same today without the other. These styles of musicserved as a
source of inspiration for later music to come.
Some basic similarities between the two types of music were that both secular and
religious music was monophonic, which is when a single melody is sung by a
single person or by a choir in which each member sings the same part. Secular and
religious music were intended for communicating feelings and gave a way to
express emotions in a way like never before and both originated from oral cultures
and passed down from memory until religious composers became more literate.
Monks and members of the church choir were the main performers of religious
music intended for mass and the troubadors, trouveres, and joungleurs were the
performers of secular music. Unlike secular music, music intended for mass was
taken from or inspired by the Bible for worship and was seen as a musical prayer.
Singing about the scripture was another and a more intimate way to experience the
Holy Spirit rather than just reading from scripture. Secular music was intended for
parties and dancing mainly about love and used to entertain people. Some ... Show

Instruments used during mass were looked down upon because it was said that they
caused a distraction between the people and God. Instruments used for non religious
music such as dances and festivals were the vielle, harp, psaltery, flute, shawm,

The Cross Pollination Religious Customs And Material
Culture
The cross pollination religious customs and material culture in the Cuban Diaspora
has provided a wealth of indigenous and assimilative sources (Gordon, 2014: 53), and
this has afforded Mendive a rich abundance of inherited iconography of fauna, flora
and otherworldly phenomena to consume and use in the process of creating his
artworks. Mendive is able to animate the pantheon of Orishas, depicted as either
interacting with or sometimes assimilating human postures and gestures. Such
representations of the SanterГa cosmic beings investigate concepts of hybridity, New
Word practices of syncretism, and notions of a perceived combining of different and
seemingly contradictory beliefs through the blending of customs and traditions of
different schools of thought and discourse (Turner, 2014).
The earliest mention of syncretism appeared in the philosophy of Plutarch as the act
or system of blending, combining or reconciling inharmonious elements... to forget
dissensions and to unite in the face of common danger (Showerman, 1910 11: 292
93). In The Creation of Afro Caribbean Religions and their Incorporation of Catholic
Elements Bettina Schmidt maintains that syncretism is too simple a term to use in
attempting to encapsulate the full meaning behind the creation process of SanterГa.
According to her, it upholds the belief that the Cuban religion was formed by the
sheer mixing of the dominant Catholicism doctrine with the suppressed religious
practices of the Yoruba people
The Television Show South Park
The difference between the intended meaning of media texts and what the audience
actually perceives can be shockingly different. Producers of media can do everything
possible to force audiences to experience their work in the way they want them to, but
in the end they still take away many different meanings even within the same
audience. Stuart Hall outlines this in his encoding and decoding model. One of the
most apparent examples of this is the television show South Park. The television show
South Park is a media text with the producers preferred meaning of being decoded
as joke or as being satire, but many audience members take an oppositional stance
of taking it seriously. This is clear from the examples of controversy when South
Park aired episodes focused on Scientology, red headed people, and Islam. Through
these examples it is demonstrated that the producers of media have less power
compared to the audience in determining the meaning of media. In Hall s encoding
and decoding model he argues that encoding and decoding the meaning of media is
not a single sided process but one shared by both the producers and the audience. The
producers encode their preferred meaning into the media using frameworks of
knowledge, relations of production, and technical infrastructure (Hall, 1997).
Frameworks of knowledge are the producers beliefs and what they assume about the
audience s beliefs. Relations of production are the needs of the financial side of the
industry. Technical
Sport Should Be Considered A Sport
Hannah Farr
Dr. Bowers

November 30, 2017
What do you consider a sport?
Football, basketball, volleyball, and many more... these are all known as common
sports that people participate in. How many people were involved in sports during
high school or even now in college? What is it that makes it a sport? Is it the time
commitment? Well what about the competitiveness? We are all used to spending
hours and hours on end practicing and preparing for something whether that be a
game, a tournament, or a competition... We have all been there before. I started
dancing fourteen years ago, when I was just three years old. Growing up, some of
my friends always asked me why I wanted to be apart of something that wasn t
even considered a sport, but to me it was and it was the best thing I could have ever
been involved in. Anything that consists of countless hours of practicing and is
competitive should be considered a sport. The opinions on this topic are endless, but
I m going to discuss three reasons why I believe dance should be considered a sport.
Dancers practice just as much, if not more than other sports, they compete against
other teams, and dancers act like a family to one another. Although dance is known
as an art, nobody said it could not be both an art and a sport.
Dancers express themselves in a way that resembles grace and emotion, but they also
show strength and gratitude. Dancing is a physical activity that takes a lot of Arts

The Reformation And The Reformation
The Reformation was a political, cultural, and religious reform of the Catholic
Church and of religious beliefs. People started to question if churches were corrupt.
The power and wealth churches had due to indulgences, taxes, and the secular power
of Popes were all called into question as well as how the Church interpreted the Bible.
New humanistic and secularist beliefs were emerging in addition to new thoughts on
how to be a good Christian. The Reformation brought about new denominations of
Christianity, and with that many conflicts caused by clashing religious ideals and the
strengthened unity of the Catholic Church New denominations of Christianity
appeared during the Reformation. Martin Luther, John Calvin, and begrudgingly,
Charles V were the main people attributed to starting or aiding in the growth of such
denominations. Luther is typically associated with having initiated the Reformation
by writing his 95 These. In document 1 is Luther s 95 Theses which he had written
in complaint of the Catholic Church s selling of indulgences and secular power. His
theses soon gain enormous popularity and Luther unwittingly become the leader of
a new branch of Christianity called Lutheran. Such like in document 1, document 4,
taken from Calvin s Golden Book of The True Christian Life, lead to a new branch
of Christianity called Calvinism. Calvinists believe that people are sinful from birth
and while those who are able to go to heaven have already been decided; it is

Workforce Engagement At The Bunker Elementary
Workforce Engagement
Workforce engagement is the feeling of emotional connection someone has to their
workplace. An engaged employee feels satisfied and enthusiastic about their work.
They feel valued, driven, and that they belong to part of a team. This is the way a
school should feel for its employees. When teachers and staff of a school are engaged
in fulfilling the work of the school they show higher levels of performance and
thereby increase the achievement of students. Principals should know the engagement
level of their staff and also any events or feelings that may impact that engagement
level.
Assess Workforce Engagement
The following information was gathered from an interview with Andrea Williams,
principal of Theresa Bunker Elementary. Mrs. Williams first shared the fact that
this is a small school helps her stay close with the workforce and keep a close eye
on the engagement level of the workforce at this school. This school only has
sixteen teachers and a handful of support staff. She is able to have daily informal
interaction with each member of the staff which helps her determine if anything is
impacting their engagement. Because she knows each person and their family she
is able to know of someone in the family is ill or if other family stress may be
impacting engagement. She gets to know each person and their personalities and
opinions from talking with the staff on a daily basis. She also is able to meet on a
formal basis with each member of
Annotation Of The Poem Hive Of Honey Bees
This poem is a narrative of a woman, talking about how she is repeatedly asked
where her secret lies, because of the confidence she wears, and the power she has
over a room of people. She states it because of things such as the stride of her walk,
the span of her arms, and then goes on to state I m a womanPhenomenally.
Phenomenal woman, That s me. The conflicts being dramatized are how despite
she isn t pretty or a fashion model s size , she is able to hold the attention of a room
with grace, convey power and beauty in everything she does, and be completely
confident in the person she is. She is being asked this by men and women wherever
she goes, because the power of her entering a room has men swarming around her a

Lookout Mountain Research Paper
On this day in 1863, Union troops capture Lookout Mountain southwest of
Chattanooga, Tennessee,as they begin to break the Confederate siege of the city. In
the battle above the clouds, the Yankees scaled the slopes of the mountain on the
periphery of the Chattanooga lines.
For nearly two monthsfollowing the Battle of Chickamauga, the Confederates,
commanded by General Braxton Bragg, had pinned the Union army inside
Chattanooga. They were not able to surround the city, though, and occupied Lookout
Mountain and Missionary Ridge to the south and east of the city instead. In late
October, arriving to take command, Union General Ulysses S. Grant immediately
began to form an offensive. On October 27, Union troops attacked Brown s Ferry

7. Lastly, Anne could cut down on the number of performances to reduce the
expenses (if the contract allows for that). From a leadership perspective, the main
weaknesses are a vacant CEO position, which makes coverage for the
responsibilities of that position difficult, especially in a time of a merger.
Secondly, key members such as Keith Lockhart and Ms. Abravanel are skeptical
and might be unwilling to support a merger. The following actions are
recommended for Anne to take in order to alleviate the concern of these leadership
weaknesses. 1. Anne will need to look at the total organizational structure of the
combined entities. It is highly likely that there will be a number of duplicate
positions that could be cut or changed. Either one of the cut positions could be this
CEO position (potentially added to the position of Leslie Peterson from the opera).
There will also be duplicate positions of director of finance, director of marketing,
director of developments, artistic teams and so forth. A merger would absolutely
present duplicate position that will need to be cut or reorganized. 2. It will be
critical for Anne to layout the groundwork for the merger with defined goals, and
cascade those goals down to the opera and symphony so that all parties are aligned.
The opera and symphony would each determine their own sets of goals that would
support Anne s goals on the
Comparing Coachella, Larkfest And The Marley Fast
Festivals make so much money in the beginning of the year. Festivals like
Coachella, LarkFest, and The Marley Fest are the most popular in the country. Most
parents give their teenagers festival tickets as a christmas present so they can have
fun. What most parents don t know is that in the festivals their kids can easily smoke
and drink. The festivals are the most popular because it is easy for young adults to
consume drugs. The LarkFest is an example of how easy young adults can get
alcoholic beverages. Larkfest has relaxed on the I.D. policy for purchasing drugs and
alcohol.
Coachella is most known for the consumption of cocaine and use of marijuana.
Coachella tickets cost around $400. Since the Coachella Festival is close to the start

I understand that venders at the festivals will lose profit but it is the law that they
shouldn t sell drugs or alcohol to underage drinkers. I would focus on the I.D. policy
and not care about the money because I know I would be saving teenage lives. That
would be the ethical thing to do. I think that the publishing of drugs should be banned
from sites that teens might use. They should publish the Festival drugs but on adult
websites.
Does my decision harm anyone? I don t think my choice harms anyone because
people can still sell but they should be aware of the I.D. policy. The vendors lose
profit but they will be helping teenage lives.
My fifth step I cannot prove because no one has seen my decision. To conclude my
research I never thought that underage drinking and smoking was a common case
until i began. I don t think teens know the trouble they may get into in the later
Traitor Essay
The film Traitor exposes its audience with a protagonist that encounters a
conflicting loyalty as a Sudanese born American agent who is found to be
undercover as an Islamic bomb maker with only one supervisor knowing of his
doings. The so called traitor is Samir and when he is sent to carry out a massive
suicide on 50 buses he faces doubts and turns to his religious views in hopes of
finding the answer.
Samir is ultimately driven by his loyalties to his brothers in islam but faces the
problem of remaining loyal to an American government which views him as a high

Omar briefly goes over that fact that violence was the best possible way to get a

compares America s way of fighting for justice as weapons like missiles and bombs

of being chosen to fulfill the will of god with the symbolic act of terrorism. This

Although religion was used for justification in the film it was not the sacred values
that were issue but rather it became problematic when it brought out absolutistic
symbols that acted as the terrorism. In the film the mass suicide with 50 buses was
a symbolic act of terror as it was going to be on Thanksgiving day where the act
would be remembered in history. If the plan were to have smoothly in the film it

Derivative Financial Instruments Employed for Risk Management
Credit Risk
Derivatives may be traded either via an exchange (exchange traded) or alternatively,
privately negotiated contracts, which are generally alluded to as Over The Counter
(OTC) derivatives. Exchange traded and OTC cleared derivative contracts have
downgraded Macquarie s credit risk as their counterparty is a clearing house,
accountable for the handling of risk management for their members to guarantee that
the clearing house has sufficient resources to carry out its upcoming obligations.
Members are instructed to produce initial margins in agreement with the exchange
rules in the form of cash or securities, and further present daily variation margins in
cash to cover adjustments in values of the market. Macquarie has exchange traded
derivatives with positive replacement values as at 31 March 2016 of $1,794 million,
whereas as at 31 March 2016 of $4,641 million.
For OTC derivative contracts, Macquarie commonly has master netting agreements
(usually ISDA Master Agreements) with specific counterparties to handle and control
the credit risk associated. The credit risk connected with positive replacement value
contracts is condensed by master netting arrangements that in an occurrence of
default necessitates that balances with a certain counterparty covered by the
agreement (for example derivatives and cash margins) to be discontinued and settled
on a net basis. Macquarie frequently executes a Credit

Essay On Ideology. Althusser essays on ideology. Althussers Theory Of Ideology. 2022-10-28

  • 1. Essay On Ideology Crafting an essay on the topic of ideology can be a challenging endeavor that requires a nuanced understanding of political, social, and philosophical concepts. Ideology, being a multifaceted and dynamic subject, demands meticulous research and thoughtful analysis to produce a comprehensive and well-argued essay. One of the difficulties lies in navigating the vast landscape of ideologies that have shaped human societies throughout history. Whether exploring political ideologies such as liberalism, conservatism, socialism, or delving into more abstract ideologies like existentialism or feminism, the writer must grapple with diverse and sometimes conflicting perspectives. Moreover, the task of defining and conceptualizing ideology itself can be intricate. It is not a monolithic concept but rather a complex interplay of ideas, values, and beliefs that influence individuals and societies. This requires a thorough exploration of the historical context, the evolution of ideologies, and their impact on shaping cultural and political landscapes. Constructing a coherent argument and presenting well-supported evidence is another challenge. The essay must not only articulate a clear thesis but also provide compelling examples and references to bolster the arguments. Balancing depth and breadth in the exploration of ideologies adds an additional layer of difficulty, as it requires a delicate touch to avoid oversimplification or excessive detail. Incorporating current events and contemporary perspectives into the essay adds another layer of complexity. Ideologies are not static; they evolve over time, responding to societal changes and emerging issues. Addressing these dynamic aspects requires staying informed about current affairs and integrating relevant developments into the analysis. In conclusion, writing an essay on ideology demands intellectual rigor, research skills, and the ability to synthesize complex information. Navigating through the diverse array of ideologies, defining the concept itself, constructing a compelling argument, and staying attuned to contemporary developments all contribute to the difficulty of this task. However, with dedication and a systematic approach, it is possible to produce a thought-provoking and insightful essay on this intricate subject. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other academic writing tasks, various resources are available. • 2. Emily Dickinson s I Heard A Fly Buzz Gothic style literature, a style of literature characterized by gloomy, grotesque and mysterious that are often accompanied by violent or startling imagery is the theme for most of Emily Dickinson s creation. The authenticity of Emily Dickinson s death obsessed poems demonstrates a profound emotion that projects a revolting persona. This persona is visible through her poem: I heard a Fly buzz when I died. Dickinson s poem I heard a Fly buzz when I died is a perfect exemplar of Dickinson s revolting persona. Equipped with isolating dashes that swiftly changes the mood on each line, Dickinson portrayed a death scenario that described the atmosphere around a dying person. In the beginning of the poem, Dickinson utilizes the phrase Stillness in the room was like the Stillness in the Air. This phrase implies the relative silence around a person s dying state, likely, due to the gradual fading senses of a dying person. Additionally, in this line, Dickinson capitalized the word stillness purposefully to depict near death sensation. As the poem continues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is crucial to understand that during the years that gothic mode literature was flourishing, the presence of wars and different illnesses that plagued the world forced most people to accept death as a natural occurrence in daily life. Yet, Dickinson s poems like I heard a Fly buzz when I died, evokes a seemingly antagonistic resistance to this notion through the manifestation of her alter ego as a person interrupted in death by people suffering and in misery because of the loss. This reveals the relative weakness of mankind in succumbing to a profound depression in response to a beloved s death. Hence, Dickinson s poem that juxtaposes both grief and acceptance relayed an awakening message to the world: that death is no simple event but is rather an agonizing
  • 3. The Ideal American Family Analysis As stated in an article by Kimi Kennedy entitled Television: The Ideal American Family, most American families portrayed on television in the late 40s and early 50s consisted of a husband, wife and 2.5 kids (Kennedy). In Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman, the Loman family seems to perfectly fit the mold of a familyliving the American dream; however, the actions of the family show that everything is not what it seems. Although the Lomans appear to be the ideal family of the time, the way in which the family treats each other directly contrast with other fictional families of the time. The family s treatment of Happy exemplifies the lack of attention given to some children within American families. Throughout the play, Happy often takes a back seat to Biff when it comes to getting his parents attention. In Act I on pages 1851 1853 Happy says multiple times, I m... On page 1844, while talking to Linda, Willy goes from saying, The trouble is he s lazy... to saying That s one thing about Biff he s not lazy in a matter of seconds (Miller). Biff also feels conflicted about his father. Biff cannot seem to decide if he really loves his father or not. On page 1864, Biff is confident in his love toward his mother yet, the love he feels for his father seems to be an afterthought (Miller). The Loman family seems like the ideal American family based on television in the 1940s and 50s. Willy, Linda, Biff, and Happy, however, do not get along very well and most they all have secrets that they keep from each other. The Lomans first appear to be a typical fictional family of the time consisting of a mother, father, and two children, but soon show their flaws. Arthur Miller breaks the mold for the fictional families of the time in his play Death of a Salesman by highlighting the flaws and downfalls of each member of the
  • 4. Essay On Wan Technologies As the world progresses technology everyday, the reliance on the Internet and its uses become more and more necessary. Many people connect to hundreds of applications and devices they use every single day. Behind these applications are extremely complex networks that allow users to connect in ways that expand every single day. To achieve this, companies must design their networks for secure access and reliability to allow seamless access for users. On the back end these companies must also have a secure network in place for their offices, remote workers, and any other remote resource to access confidential materials and other sensitive matter. This can be accomplished through a variety of WAN technologies that are used in the world today.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With frame relay the user only has to pay for the local loop and the allotted bandwidth they purchased. Since these loops are shared between many users the cost is reduced. Frame Relay provides a better alternative because it only requires a single point of access. From that point of access the Frame Relay allows the sites to connect together. On top of the overall cost, it is also much simpler to configure which results in less overhead yet again. The connections were simpler to establish because Customer Service Equipment or CPE would be configured and linked to the ISPs Frame relay switch. This allowed end user configuration management to be simple and straightforward. Besides cost savings, Frame relay is also more reliable and provides more bandwidth than private/leased lines. Frame relay provides greater flexibility versus leased lines by using Virtual Circuits or VCs. As communication is desired between locations, a connection to a Virtual Circuit is formed. In this process each end point connection uses a Data Link Connection Identifier or DLCI which acts as an address for the end point. Data sent through the relay is taken from the network layer of the OSI model and is then encapsulated through the data portion of the frame relay frame. Once this is done, the frame is then sent to the physical layer for delivery. Within the packet there will be an address field that includes the DLCI and checksum to show where the packet needs to go. Another alternative to a

Construction Projects Of Saudi Arabia For a project to be successfully completed before due dates and keeping budget under control optimum utilization of resources is necessary; however, these limits may sometimes surpass. A significant variance may be there between certain assumptions made during initial planning of project and final outcomes. Unforeseen and unknown changes in construction methods, materials, techniques, or human resources may create budgetary and scheduling pressures which may increase the possibility of failure (Zeng et al., 2007). According to a survey exploring completion of construction projects in Saudi Arabia showed that 76% of projectcontractors experienced delays of 10 30% of the projected duration (Assaf and Al Hejji, 2006). This new approach, named the LP/IP hybrid method, is a combination of linear and integer programming. The LP/IP hybrid method first establishes the lower bound of the time cost relationship of a project using linear programming. Based on the linear programming solutions, regions of desired time and cost can be selected to find the exact solutions by integer programming in a fraction of the time required to solve the entire problem using only integer programming. This combination of linear and integer programming provides the efficiency and accuracy for solving time cost trade off problems. In addition, the lengthy and error prone process of formulating linear and integer programming objective functions and constraints are replaced by a spreadsheet tool so that users can intuitively define time cost and precedence relationships for activities. The LP/IP hybrid method along with the spreadsheet tool provides construction planners with a new and efficient means of making good time cost decisions. Detailed description of the LP/IP hybrid method is provided and an example is given to demonstrate the use of this new method. Background The above methodologies need to use the historical records and knowledge of experts, contractors or engineers in determining the suitable resource utilization
  • 6. Why Wind Turbines Have Caused Such Controversy in Puerto Rico Wind Turbines: Why has it caused so much controversy in Puerto Rico? As the Law of Conservation states, energy can be neither created nor destroyed (The Secret Lives of Energy). That means that an energy source has to be use in order to generate the energy needed. It is common knowledge that the pollution caused by the use of fossil fuels over time is making society live in a contaminated world. In addition, the cost of the use of fossil fuels is increasing and becoming too expensive, forcing people to find alternate ways in which they can pay less for the use of energy. The use of fossil fuels over time has increased to a point where the remaining reservoirs have decreased by a large margin. On the other hand, renewable energy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is considered green energy because it uses resources the Earth will replace and does not pollute nor harm the environment (Alliant Energy). Fossil fuels, which are fuels found under the Earth s ground, such as petroleum, cannot be replaced and cause large levels of pollution (SF Environment). One of the renewable sources causing the most controversies in Puerto Rico is the wind. In order to use the wind to generate power, also known as Aeolic energy, wind turbines are needed. According to research done by Discovery News, in January 25, 2013, the top 10 countries, by order of most demand and use of wind energy, are: China, United States, Germany, Spain, India, Italy, France, Canada, Brazil, and Denmark. All of these countries are investing money in wind turbine projects because, in the long run, it is going to benefit them from both the economic and ecofriendly point of view (Discovery News). In addition to these top ten countries in the world, there are more countries that have, or are, investing in these types of projects, since this is the future and correct path for the use Renewable Energy as a replacement for fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are harming the environment to the point where in a short amount of time it is going to be almost impossible to live on Earth because of the catastrophic changes the pollution will cause. (Environmental and Energy Study Institute). The controversies caused in

On the show Pops is seeing a woman to help him improve with his dancing moves, to prepare him to dance well for him and his wife anniversary. But his two sons Marlon and Shawn thinks that their Dad is cheating because Dee the security Gard suspect him of cheating when really, he is not. The sons have the option to let the situation play out for itself in not say anything or do something and stop their Dad from interacting with the lady, which can relate to Characteristics of a utilitarian, but critics like a virtue ethic would disagree and could be wrong. The son s notice that their dad has been coming home late to their mother. Because their mom called Marlon and ask what time will their father get off. Right before their mom called the dad was dressed up ready to go somewhere but not staying later for work. While the boys were at work they were talking to the lady which is the hotel security grad name, Dee who suspect that she thinks that the dad is cheating. By Dee having the characteristics of a virtue person a virtuous person is someone who is kind across many situations over a lifetime because that is her character and not because she wants to maximize utility or gain favors or simply do her duty (Wrenn). So, Shawn and Marlon decided to go spy on their dad. Pops is seeing this lady, which is a dance teacher that they have never seen before.

In fact, An Actors Prepares Stanislavski states: The actor must recreate his work, each time he repeats his part, with sincerity, truth, and directness. It is only on that condition that he will be able to free his art from mechanical and stereotyped acting, from tricks and all forms of artificiality. If he accomplishes this, he will have real people and real life all around him on the stage, and living art which has been purified from all debasing elements. The illusion that the actor can create to have solitude is the fourth wall on stage. The four wall is an imagery wall that exists between the actor and audience. In addition, solitude can allow an actor to be in his or her mind. The mind is very powerful because it allows an actor to bring forth the imagery forth wall in the outside world. Thirdly, if an actor doesn t use inner purpose or solitude one would overact to compensate for lack of using a technique called The Method . In fact, overacting is an unnecessary exaggeration of a character in a play. Overacting can be perceived as a façade or even having a lack of emotions. Stanislavski is against overacting because it uses an artificial façade by only using only outward appearance. In fact, when an actor just focuses on outward appearance the actor can forget their inward purpose. Stanislavski was a very important theatre teacher during his time. He created The Method to bring out emotions in an actor. In An Actor Prepares it can be concluded that an actor must have an inward purpose, solitude, and overcome overacting. Understanding those three aspects can bring light to Stanislavski s The Method . The method is powerful because it uses inward technique to make an actor s acting more
  • 10. The Legal Drinking Age Should Be Legal Essay People drink liquor for various reasons; anxiety, celebration, insomnia etc. Teenagers fall under the category of people . The legal drinking age presently is twenty one in the United States Of America. I can guarantee you that the underage drinking age rate would drop if the age were brought down. One of the reasons behind drinking is enjoyment but the primary purpose behind underage drinking is breaking the law . The law says an eighteen year old is mature enough to make his /her life decisions, yet not ready to drink liquor. In the United Statesthere are different rules for various ages, however when a person turns 18 they tend to move out of their parents and start to begin their own life with their friends. Eighteen year olds have the privilege to vote, get married, and serve in the military, and those even younger than eighteen can drive and become parents. Therefore, it appears to be odd and contradictory for them to not be able to purchase alcohol. We as a whole know why teenagers usually drink. Simply the vibe that they get of breaking the law is huge. Being rebellious and not following the principles is an essential part of a teenager. Regardless of the fact that it is illegal for teens to purchase alcoholic beverages, they are still able to get it through their parent s cupboards, or from their senior friends who purchase it for them. We as a whole observe, that is not hard for teens to get liquor. Why not bring down the drinking age then?

  • 13. The Diversity Within The Workplace Essay INTRODUCTION The need for one organization to outperform the others has given rise to a diverse workforce comprising of different individuals who significantly differ from one another. Diversity in the workplace has been defined as the differences and similarities among the employees that make up an organization in terms of age, cultural background, sex, religion (Anon., n.d.). The diversity in the workplace in terms of age is more often referred to as generational diversity. The desire by some to stay and work longer has led to the current workforce capturing many generations. With countries such as the US capturing as many as 5 distinct generations, others have been able to capture 4 and 3. The various generations segment the different age ranges into generations generally governed by different attitudes to work, preferences and value systems. The attitude, preference, and values held by any generation affect the way they approach their works. 21st century organizations tend to prefer managers who can deal with the different generations as they have different characteristics and present diverse challenges. The attitude of the various generations greatly differs in the workplace. The generations in the workforce have been segmented into the following demographics: the Traditionalists (also known as the silent generation or the greatest generation); the baby boomers; generation X; generation Y (also known as Millennial), and finally generation Z. An understanding of these
  • 14. The Pros And Cons Of Television Shows If you have ever watched TV, you might notice many commonalities and trends between many of the TV shows that are on air. The shows usually follow similar storylines of a protagonist (usually male) who struggles with their own moral values, usually stirring up trouble for themselves and those around them. Now you re probably asking yourself: Hm I wonder why so many shows follow similar patterns? Well the answer to that question is because of YOU! It s all your fault that TV can be so monotonous and repetitive. You are a part of a giant collective that drives what TV shows are being shown, what TV shows are being cancelled, and even when TV shows are being played. You are a part of the audience. The audience is what drives TV shows to be the entertaining platforms that they are meant to be, but they are also the most crippling aspect of the televisionitself. If I wanted to pitch a TV show to a TV network, the script would be immediately thrown in the trash. This is because I am nowhere to be found in the hierarchy of the television network. The television hierarchy makes it almost impossible for lesser known writers and producers to release their work on popular networks. Also, newer shows do not get as much of a fighting chance as others because these new shows must compete with other popular TV shows for the best time slots, therefore getting less viewers, increasing the chance the network pulls the plug on new shows. When TV networks try to decide what shows to put on

Grant closes down the end of LeeВґs lines close to Petersburg. The South suffer large casualties, and the war triggered LeeВґs withdraw from Petersburg as the two armies started a race that would close a week later at Appomattox Court House. For close to a year, Grant had laid siege to LeeВґs team in an elaborate network of trenches that ran from Petersburg to the Confederate capital at Richmond, 25 miles north. A Brief History of Labor Standards In order to provide a clearer understanding of the need for labor standards in the international trade regime it is prudent to examine the historical background of the issue. The first legal link made between trade and labor standards in the United States manifested itself in the form of legislation designed to reduce the threat of foreign goods being dumped into U.S. markets. The first laws were implemented to this end in 1890, when the McKinley Tariff Act banned the import of goods made with prison labor (International Labor Rights Fund). However, concern for labor rights was merely a convenient byproduct of this legislation. In 1930 Congress took another step by passing into law the U.S. Tariff Act of 1930, which banned the import of goods made with forced or indentured labor. The postwar era brought about a more multinational approach to dealing with trade issues, most notably in the establishment of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in 1948. Although there were high hopes that international labor standards could be established, the GATT made only vague references to the issue, and no concrete and enforceable standards were established. Thus, there was no provision for member states to take action against other members who

The basis of the rational choice theory is that a person will consider the risks versus rewards before committing a crime (Bohm Vogel, 2011). Created by Cornish Clark, there are three principals that add to the classical theory (Bohm Vogel, 2011). The first principal is that all people are not always based on reasons. The second principal is that when weighing the risks, people do not just consider judicial punishment, but they also consider other factors such as being rejected by family and friends or jeopardizing their employment (Bohm Vogel, 2011). The third principal basically states that the way people

Carmen D Alessio considers herself to be the founder and creator of Studio 52 with help from Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell. Clubs aren t usually known for outstanding employee care and Studio 52 is no different. The busboys were hired mainly for their looks, not because of their customer service or interest in the business. Working at Studio 52 was like going to a party every time they went to work. Which was probably fun for a little while, but not a lasting career. The company culture regarding employees was not focused on respect or employee s interests. They promoted drug use just to make sure their employees were considered enjoyable. I don t think the employees were valued as family members or important people, they seemed to only be valued for their looks and their ability to party. The customers of Studio 52 were considered influential and important. She didn t try to work with them or ask them what they want out of their job. She gave them her expectations and they went with them without question, although the guests and drugs probably helped keep her employees
  • 41. Education Can End Systematic Oppression The subject of expectations for higher education is one that tends to spark impassioned debate among educators, students and parents alike. In Pedagogy of the Oppressed Paulo Freire presses his audience to consider such expectations in light of one s own intentions, motives, and affections toward those to be educated (Freire 50). He goes even further to suggest that a love for one another through empathetic dialogue, especially on the part of the educator, must be present in order for fear to be wiped away and liberation to eventually take its place (Freire 89,90). It was that dialogical approach that made Freire s literacy programs so successful in Brazil until his work was interrupted by a military dictatorship in the mid 60s and... For children without the advantage of origin of birth, struggles throughout the formative years will affect their learning process and expectations for the future. Many immigrant children suffer the same disadvantages as children in poverty. This fact should not be ignored when considering expectations for a future college degree. Freire posits that the cycle of dehumanization can only be broken when a radical posture is taken by the oppressor, a posture in which the oppressor enters into the situation of the oppressed through humility (44, 48, 49). An empathetic approach to individuals is essential if we are to understand the challenges they face and have a realistic hope for future success and change. The oppressed in our society also include individuals who have suffered abuse and neglect. Hundreds of thousands of children have been placed in the foster care system due to an array of maltreatment (Child Welfare). Children who are neglected do not experience the same developmental advantages as children raised in a nurturing environment. Research has shown that neglect in the early years of life affects a child s brain development (Hamilton). Studies have also shown that the impact of neglect may become more severe as a child grows older and eventually have lasting effects on intellectual, behavioral, social, and cognitive development (DePanfilis). • 45. Similarities Between Secular And Secular Music Secular music and music intended for mass both played important roles in medieval culture. For a while, the only music was made for worship. There were certain themes and purposes that shaped church music to be the way that it was and the same with non religious music, each had a purpose. There are characteristics of each that separate them from each other and then some characteristics that make them one. One would not be the same today without the other. These styles of musicserved as a source of inspiration for later music to come. Some basic similarities between the two types of music were that both secular and religious music was monophonic, which is when a single melody is sung by a single person or by a choir in which each member sings the same part. Secular and religious music were intended for communicating feelings and gave a way to express emotions in a way like never before and both originated from oral cultures and passed down from memory until religious composers became more literate. Monks and members of the church choir were the main performers of religious music intended for mass and the troubadors, trouveres, and joungleurs were the performers of secular music. Unlike secular music, music intended for mass was taken from or inspired by the Bible for worship and was seen as a musical prayer. Singing about the scripture was another and a more intimate way to experience the Holy Spirit rather than just reading from scripture. Mendive is able to animate the pantheon of Orishas, depicted as either interacting with or sometimes assimilating human postures and gestures. Such representations of the SanterГa cosmic beings investigate concepts of hybridity, New Word practices of syncretism, and notions of a perceived combining of different and seemingly contradictory beliefs through the blending of customs and traditions of different schools of thought and discourse (Turner, 2014). The earliest mention of syncretism appeared in the philosophy of Plutarch as the act or system of blending, combining or reconciling inharmonious elements... to forget dissensions and to unite in the face of common danger (Showerman, 1910 11: 292 93). In The Creation of Afro Caribbean Religions and their Incorporation of Catholic Elements Bettina Schmidt maintains that syncretism is too simple a term to use in attempting to encapsulate the full meaning behind the creation process of SanterГa. According to her, it upholds the belief that the Cuban religion was formed by the sheer mixing of the dominant Catholicism doctrine with the suppressed religious practices of the Yoruba people
  • 47. The Television Show South Park The difference between the intended meaning of media texts and what the audience actually perceives can be shockingly different. Producers of media can do everything possible to force audiences to experience their work in the way they want them to, but in the end they still take away many different meanings even within the same audience. Stuart Hall outlines this in his encoding and decoding model. One of the most apparent examples of this is the television show South Park. The television show South Park is a media text with the producers preferred meaning of being decoded as joke or as being satire, but many audience members take an oppositional stance of taking it seriously. This is clear from the examples of controversy when South Park aired episodes focused on Scientology, red headed people, and Islam. Through these examples it is demonstrated that the producers of media have less power compared to the audience in determining the meaning of media. In Hall s encoding and decoding model he argues that encoding and decoding the meaning of media is not a single sided process but one shared by both the producers and the audience. The producers encode their preferred meaning into the media using frameworks of knowledge, relations of production, and technical infrastructure (Hall, 1997). Frameworks of knowledge are the producers beliefs and what they assume about the audience s beliefs. Relations of production are the needs of the financial side of the industry. Technical

Football, basketball, volleyball, and many more... these are all known as common sports that people participate in. How many people were involved in sports during high school or even now in college? What is it that makes it a sport? Is it the time commitment? Well what about the competitiveness? We are all used to spending hours and hours on end practicing and preparing for something whether that be a game, a tournament, or a competition... We have all been there before. I started dancing fourteen years ago, when I was just three years old. Growing up, some of my friends always asked me why I wanted to be apart of something that wasn t even considered a sport, but to me it was and it was the best thing I could have ever been involved in. Anything that consists of countless hours of practicing and is competitive should be considered a sport. The opinions on this topic are endless, but I m going to discuss three reasons why I believe dance should be considered a sport. Dancers practice just as much, if not more than other sports, they compete against other teams, and dancers act like a family to one another. Although dance is known as an art, nobody said it could not be both an art and a sport. Dancers express themselves in a way that resembles grace and emotion, but they also show strength and gratitude. • 49. The Reformation And The Reformation The Reformation was a political, cultural, and religious reform of the Catholic Church and of religious beliefs. People started to question if churches were corrupt. The power and wealth churches had due to indulgences, taxes, and the secular power of Popes were all called into question as well as how the Church interpreted the Bible. New humanistic and secularist beliefs were emerging in addition to new thoughts on how to be a good Christian. The Reformation brought about new denominations of Christianity, and with that many conflicts caused by clashing religious ideals and the strengthened unity of the Catholic Church New denominations of Christianity appeared during the Reformation. Martin Luther, John Calvin, and begrudgingly, Charles V were the main people attributed to starting or aiding in the growth of such denominations. Luther is typically associated with having initiated the Reformation by writing his 95 These. In document 1 is Luther s 95 Theses which he had written in complaint of the Catholic Church s selling of indulgences and secular power.
