Does History Repeat Itself Essay
Crafting an essay on the notion of historical repetition is undoubtedly a challenging endeavor.
The complexity arises not only from the need to delve into the vast tapestry of historical events
but also from the inherent ambiguity surrounding the concept itself. Unraveling the threads of
time and drawing parallels between disparate epochs requires a nuanced understanding of
historical patterns, human behavior, and the myriad factors influencing the course of events.
One of the challenges lies in navigating the fine line between recognizing genuine historical
recurrences and succumbing to oversimplification. History, as a subject, is rife with intricate
details, multifaceted causes, and unpredictable outcomes. Attempting to distill this complexity
into a coherent argument demands a delicate balance between generalization and specificity.
Moreover, the very nature of historical repetition is a subject of debate among scholars. Some
argue that it stems from ingrained human behaviors and societal structures, while others
emphasize the uniqueness of each historical moment. Balancing these perspectives in an essay
requires a critical examination of conflicting theories and the ability to synthesize diverse
viewpoints.
Furthermore, the task is not confined to a mere recounting of historical events. It necessitates a
deep dive into the underlying forces at play, such as political, economic, and cultural dynamics.
Drawing connections between seemingly disparate occurrences demands a comprehensive
understanding of the context in which they unfolded.
In addition to the intellectual rigor, an essay on historical repetition requires a certain level of
creativity. The ability to discern subtle patterns and draw insightful parallels contributes to the
depth and richness of the argument. However, this creative aspect also poses the risk of
oversimplification or misinterpretation, demanding a cautious approach.
In conclusion, tackling the question of whether history repeats itself is a formidable task that
demands a combination of analytical acumen, historical insight, and creative thinking. Striking
the right balance between depth and clarity, avoiding reductionism, and navigating the
complexities of historical interpretation are the hurdles one must overcome in crafting a
compelling essay on this intricate topic.

Explain why the coupon rate and the yield to maturity determine why the bonds
would trade at a discount, premium, or par. It s necessary to determine the yield to
maturity and coupon rate because the the discount rate for a coupon bond is its
yield to maturity, which equates the present value of the future cash flows of bond
relative to its price. Generally, a bond trade at a discount because its coupon rate
comparatively lesser than as compared to it yield to maturity. It trade at a premium
because its coupon rate increases its yield to maturity. A bond trade at par because
coupon rate equals its yield to maturity (J. Van Horne , John M Wachowicz, 2008).

Audio Video Technician Training Case Study
Introduction:
A potential future shortage of Audio Video Technicians in the Grey Bruce region has
been identified. The rural region does not generally attract skilled workers in this
specific field as the region has fewer employment opportunities in the field than larger
urban centres. Local municipalities are looking to grow the arts, entertainment and
recreation industry within the region, which will have an impact on our theatre
production company, as we have the region s largest audio visual department.

Human Resources will then administer the refined tests to applicants. These tests will

Human Resources can help to identify applicants who are more likely to choose to

Considering that the company s rural location has been identified as a factor in the
shortage of skilled labour, identifying applicant s likely to stay in the region long

The Social Media And Communications Industry Essay
In the social media and communications industry, many companies began on a small
scale and progressed to improve their product by merging with a new company to
create a stronger product and expand their market internationally while some
businesses remained in North America and did not merge with other companies but
settled for the status quo. In this paper, I will discuss two companies that chose
different paths and the pros and cons of the business decisions each company made.
Mark Zuckerberghad a vision to create change. He has always said that was his
goal. What he created is one of the most groundbreaking forms of social networking
in history. Facebook began in 2004 and eventually made Mark Zuckerberg a
billionaire. What began as an idea with his friends from Harvard University, is now
one of the most famous companies in the world. He wanted to change the way
people communicate, so he and his friends designed an original internet platform
called Facemash in 2003 which was just available to Harvard students. This served
their purpose for a while and for two years students were able to communicate and
share ideas within their school community. Soon it expanded to include other colleges
in the Northeast and California. Zuckerberg had strong leadership skills and being a
Harvard educated student prepared him to be successful in business. He was well
known on campus and was quite an influential student leader. He decided that just

Xbox Vs Ps4 Research Paper
Did you know 65% of all families in the united states play video games? According
to the entertainment software association. But you have choices to gaming, with
consoles being the second most popular gaming device you have options to your
console, you could choose the Ps4 made by Sony or the Xbox one made by Microsoft
but I ll be telling you why the ps4 is better.
One of your console options, the Xbox One that sells for $349.99 the cheaper of the
two consoles. The Xbox one includes an external power brick and external storage
just like the previous model, the Xbox 360. Speaking of Xbox 360 the Xbox one is
backward compatible, this means you can play all of the Xbox 360 games on the
Xbox one. Sadly the Xbox one does not include Bluetooth ... Show more content on

pay for online gaming and various other apps and activities. Additionally the Ps4
and Xbox one have cloud saved games which track your progress and will save
your content if you get a new console, and sign in with the same account. The Ps4
is better than the Xbox one because it comes with a charging cable for the
controller when bought, as for the Xbox one you need to buy either a charging
dock or batteries. Speaking of charging there is no bulky battery pack on the back of
the controller making it easier to hold. In addition, the Ps4 itself has an internal
power supply oppose to the big, box like power box on the Xbox one s cable.
Some other, less important reasons the Ps4 is better are the games download
quicker and boot up/start quicker than the Xbox one. Speaking of games the Ps4 has
more exclusive games and more hyped up games than the Xbox one. Furthermore,
the Ps4 is more aesthetically pleasing in the design than the Xbox one which looks

Writing Style Of George Orwell
Eric Blair, also known for his nom de plume George Orwell, was an English
journalist, essayist, novelist, and critic, born in Bengal, India on 25 June 1903. He
wrote many essays, novels, and assignments although his most famous novels were,
Animal Farm (1945), and Nineteen Eighty Four (1949). Even though he died shortly
after writingNineteen Eighty Four, his popularity skyrocketed with his last published
book. To this day, both books are still very popular for their political commentaries.
According to Brain Pickings editor, Maria Popova, George Orwellwas a man of
unflinching idealism who made no apologies for making his convictions clear, be
they about the ethics of journalism, the universal motives of writing, or the golden
rules for making tea, ... He influenced and continues to influence popular and
political culture with his fiction and journalistic ability to defend his political
convictions. The popular word Orwellian was named after the clean, clear and direct
writing style of the novelist George Orwell. He often used a writing style that
enhanced the imagery throughout, while using short words and phrases that got
straight to the point. Although, George Orwell wrote about his political convictions
in simplistic form , the word Orwellian can be seen as an adjective that describes a
situation, idea, or a social condition, that usually refers to an oppressive totalitarian
government with an abundance of surveillance, a perfect example being the society
Evaluating Nursing Codes
Why is a universally accepted set of codes for diagnoses and procedures/interventions
important?
An accurate and specific documentation of universally accepted set of codes are
important for the protection of healthcare providers as well as increased
reimbursement for services received. These codes are for the validation of which
services the patient received from their health care provider ( (Page, 2009). Having
the correct codes in place insures the provider with the information needed by the
health insurance carrier. Maintained by the AMA (American Medical Association),
this universal numeric assignment is also used for developing guidelines for
medical care review as well as data collection for medical education and research
(Scott, 2013). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ICD 9 and ICD 10 are the diagnoses codes. The health insurance needs the diagnoses
codes in order to authorize the procedure. The CPT codes are used to explain which
procedures the patient received from their physicians. These are usually used for
outpatient procedures. If the attending physician or referring physician changes
procedures at the time of service, that CPT code also has to be changed and verified
ASAP. Authorizations from the insurance company may need to be obtained before
that service is done. If these codes are not correct, when the claim is filed for
reimbursement, the insurance company may deny the coverage. The patient may be
responsible for the entire expense of their service. More often than not, the facility
ends up with the burden the costs. There are many times the patient has her
procedure done before the required authorization was obtained. Some insurances
would retro date the authorization, some would not. There are many times I would
have to work on the patient s account, verify the insurance as well as secure the
authorizations, if needed. This is all happening as the patient is waiting at the
registration desk, waiting for the go ahead . Sadly, there are those patients given
contrast for their radiology procedure, just to say they have to reschedule their
appointment because authorizations weren t obtained in time. I have to say this
infuriates me because this does not need to
Essay on China s Air Pollution Conundrum
Choking To Death: China s Air Pollution Conundrum Long gone are the days when
China is mostly rural with a population consisting of farmers. In the late 1970s,
Deng Xiaoping loosened the controls on economic life, and began a period known
as reform and opening. China has not looked back, and industries continue to
develop and millions of people migrate to cities to work in one of the many
factories. China is experiencing record breaking economic expansion. They are one
of the world s largest manufacturers and exporters. However, the citizens of China
are living in extremely unhealthy conditions. The air they breathe in on a daily basis
is horrifying and inescapable. The main reason for this is that China depends
primarily on coal. It is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a 97% increase in China s industrial production since 2007, reaching a value
of $3.7 trillion (Ross). This historic, exponential growth over the past decade is
mainly because of monstrous expansion of industry and urbanization. However, this
requires a tremendous use of energy, most of which China generates from coal, the
most readily available, yet dirtiest, source.
Coal is a cheap, yet harmful, fossil fuel for generating electricity and China is home
to one of the world s largest coal reserves. China burns four billion tons of coal each
year, more than the United States, Europe, and Japan combined (Kahn and Yardley).
Most homes, power plants, and factories run on energy from coal. In fact, 70% of
China s energy three quarters of electricity generation come from coal (Larson).
These energy requirements are remarkably high because China must power its heavy
industry plants. China s steel makers, for instance, use approximately one fifth more
energy per ton than the national average, and cement makers require 45% more
power. Furthermore, the amount of energy consumed by the aluminum industry is
comparable to the amount used by the entire country s commercial sector (Kahn and
Yardley).
In comparison to the rest of the world, Chinese factories are inferior. Many do not
operate or control pollution efficiently, which aggravates the pollution problem even
more. Few coal driven power plants use modern
Early Life Of William Shakespeare
Shakespeare is known for his abilities to write and is still considered to be one of
the best British writers to this day. While William Shakespeare s reputation is
based primarily on his plays, he became famous first as a poet (Poetry Foundation).
Shakespeare s early life is important to his career because it represents how he
became a famous poet and playwright. Then when he moved into his mid years
which is where he grows and creates some of his most famous works in his lifetime,
but yet, the personal history of William Shakespeareis somewhat a mystery
(Biography). Then again Shakespeare became most famous after his death because
today schools cover his tragedies like Romeo and Juliet, Caesar and Macbeth.
William Shakespeare was baptized on April 23, 1564, there is no record of his
birth because back then they weren t born in hospitals it was at home. His birthday
is traditionally celebrated on April 23. His father, John Shakespeare, was a burgess
of the borough, who in 1565 was chosen an alderman and in 1568 bailiff (the
position corresponding to a mayor, before the grant of a further charter (Poetry
Foundation). He believed to have two older sisters, Joan and Judith. His father was a
successful merchant, who later got a position that today would resemble being a
major. William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway on November 28, 1582. His
very first born were twins, Hamnet and Judith. February 2, 1585, twins were baptized,

The Four Stages Of Circadian Rhythms
Social roles are the behaviors and responsibilities we adopt in certain situations and
expected of people who holds a particular status in society. An example of this is
when a woman has a child, she becomes a mother. Her role is to care for and love
her child and prepare them for adulthood. This role is expected from her by society,
but her role may change over time and also differ between cultures and other
people s beliefs. Everybody has a circadian rhythm which is a biological or
psychological process that is roughly twenty four hours long and systematically
varies over the course of a day. Circadian rhythms may include a certain time of the
day where your mental alertness and memory, sensitivity to pain, degree of
sleepiness, and much more is at it s peak. However, the circadian rhythm may be
different for other people. An example of this is a blind person s circadian rhythm.
Many people with total blindness have desynchronized circadian rhythms because
they re unable to detect the sunlight that normally sets the body s internal biological...

Our sleep cycle is usually five ninety minute long cycles and consists of four stages
of NREM sleep and is followed by REM sleep. Constant disturbances with the sleep
cycle may result in sleep deprivation. After being sleep deprived, people tend to
develop microsleeps which are episodes of sleep lasting only a few seconds that
occur during wakefulness. People who are sleep deprived experience disruptions in
mood, mental abilities, reaction time, perceptual skills, and complex motor skills
and tend to consume more calories and gain weight. When sleep becomes
uninterrupted after being sleep deprived, the person will experience REM rebound.
REM rebound is the amount of time spent in REM sleep increases by as much as
fifty percent. The brain needs to experience the full range of sleep states, making up

Other People s Children By Jonathan Kozol
Jonathan Kozol, in the chapter entitled Other People s Children, discusses and
justifies the kinds of limitations placed on children who must attend poorly funded,
educationally inferior school. Kozol argues that children in the inner city schools
are not fit to go to college and that they should be trained in schools for the jobs they
will eventually hold, even though these jobs are less prestigious, lowest level jobs in
society. Kozol s argumentis based on the fact that students from the inner city or
rather from the societies that do not have enough job opportunities are not supposed
to learn much because their society cannot accommodate most of the courses that
are often found in the urban settings. For example, there is a point where Kozol
cites one of the businessman s statement which says, It doesn t make sense to offer
something that most of these urban kids will never use. The businessman continues
to argue, no one expects these ghetto kids to go to college. Most of them are lucky
if they are literate. If we can teach some useful skills, get them to stay in schooland
graduate, and maybe into jobs, we re giving them the most that they can hope for
(Kozol 376). This statement clearly indicate that the society should accept the
inequalities and exercise the same inequalities even in education.
Despite the fact that Kozol could be right in some ways, this paper will argue that
Kozol s arguments are baseless, biased and that they should not be applied. In other
Jimmy Carter and the Iranian Hostage Crisis Essays
Jimmy Carter took office in January 1977 after he overcame his opponent, Gerald
Ford, in a close election. Soon after taking office, President Jimmy Carter set a goal to
create jobs for the unemployed. President Carter also tried to make the government
more useful and efficient by continuing the reforming of the regulatory system that
had started during the time of the Nixon Administration. Jimmy Carters plan did bring
down the rate of unemployment, but he increased the cost of living stimulated by
huge oil price hikes in the Middle East that soon dominated the Administration s
domestic agenda. As Jimmy Carters relationship with Irangrew quickly, the shah of
Iran came into communication with Jimmy Carter and he had accepted to protect...

The Shah, who had been in exile, contacted the United States and the Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA) put together Operation AJAX to drive Mossadegh from
Iran and put himself back in power. The Shah also followed up on the United States
idea and he started a unique police group that was officially called SAVAX. The
CIA trained these people and they were not really big fans of the Iranian people.
This group had special skills that one police officer normally wouldn t have, all of
the members of SAVAX also had the talent of spying which was used for listening in
on the Iranian citizens.
The shah of Iran became really sick with lymphoma and President Carter allowed
him to gain access into the U.S. for medical treatment. This action caused a lot of
commotion in Iran and caused the Iranian Hostage Crisis. With the shah still sick,
it was hard to manage what was back in Iran. The speed of change in Iran was too
hard to get command. The shah was in trouble, reaping the harvest of years of brutal
and unpopular policies, including the use of secret police that controlled dissent with
arbitrary arrests and torture. It was obvious that the shah had lost all control of his
people of Iran, but the president had hoped for an alliance of opponents to be formed.

My Project Of Volunteering At The Orchard Place, A...
What is my need?
The need I am trying to fulfill is bettering the mental health of children who have
had a rough upbringing. I want to know how home life influences a child s mental
health, where children can go to receive help if they need it, and how I can better
their mental health to make up for what is lacking in their home life. The domain I
am going to focus on is the mental domain. This ties into my project of
volunteering at the Orchard Place, a children s mental health facility. With my
project, I can learn how children who grow up in a home of neglect are effected,
can get help, and what steps they take to ensure the effects of their home life will be
short term. My project is going to entail two main parts. The first part is volunteering
at the Orchard Place, a child s mental health facility. We will help at the afterschool
program on Wednesday October 12th. While there, we will help children with
homework, read to them, and play/interact with them. The second part involves
bringing a gift basket full of school supplies to the Orchard Place as a donation
when we visit. The Orchard Place puts on the program we are volunteering for
every Wednesday. The program is designed to give children a place to go after
early release from school on Wednesdays so they are not going home to an empty
house. Since children are in need of homework help at the Orchard place, our
donation of school supplies will help better their mental health by providing them
with the tools
Rebecca Clarke s `` Cinderella No More ``
I decided to choose a theme for my final paper which will be related to my
instrument viola. I choose Rebecca Clarke , probably the most prominent women
composer who wrote for viola. Most of Clarke s compositions were written in the
first three decades of the twentieth century, her works was largely unknown until
the 1970th. Such is the curiously small impact she made as a composer in England
in her life time that the first edition of Lionel Turtis s book Cinderella no more
doesn t mention her viola Sonata, even though now violist from all over the world
would regard it as one of the principal works for the instrument of its era. This
seems very interesting to me and I will discuss why it happened and why women
composers had no space in the professional society of that time. Also, I will talk
about Rebecca Clarke as one of the firs women who broke the rules in a male
dominated musical world ( she became one of the first female professional
musician in the orchestra). Interest in her writing has grown a lot recently and
many of her works entered the standard viola repertoire. Because she wrote during
the time of first feminist wave in England and her rediscovering overlaps with the
second wave feminism in America musicologist mainly discuss her personality and
her compositions in the implications of gender on analysis. I will discuss her Viola
Sonata considering this recent feminist theory of gender and I will write about her
personality as a composer and a performer,

Memory And Identity In Julie Otsuka s When The
Emperor...
In her novel, When the Emperor was Divine, Julie Otsuka develops the concepts of
memory and identity as they applied to Japanese Americans 70 years ago. Before
WWII, the featured family saw themselves as American rather than Japanese. Three
years of internment later, they are not so sure. Their heritage, an aspect of their
identity once only present in their heirlooms and the food they ate, had been
perverted by society into a monstrosity malicious enough to justify their mass
incarceration. The disparity between the life they once lived and the life the life they
lived in the camps leaves them hollow, shells of their former selves, even when they
finally return home. Thus, with her skillful incorporation of motifs of darkness and...

Unfortunately, the burning stares will just be the beginning of the family s mental
torment; for the next three years, not even the burning Utah sun will lift the darkness
of the discord within the family s identity.
The middle of the novel details the transgression of the family s lives from color
into grayscale, a decline paralleled by the bleaching of their identities in the dust of
the day and the staining of them in their reminiscence at night; they wear the black
and white stripes of a prisoner. For instance, family s marginalization was
represented symbolically when the boy wrote his name in the dust across the top of
the table. All through the night, while he slept, more dust blew through the walls. By
morning his name was gone (64). The disappearance of the boy s name via a motif
of dust is the figurative manifestation of the idea that the world considers all the
Japanese American prisoners to be the same; the boy is just one detainee among a sea
of identical enemies. Moreover, Otsuka included another layer to that facelessness;
the 4 family members are known only as the boy, the girl, his/her father, and his/her
mother, their names never mentioned. The family once had a place in the world, and
that has been stripped away from them with their individuality. However, the family
is never complacent in their predicament, with each person dealing with their
predicament differently. The boy in
Unaccompanied Children Essay
Young and McKenna look at how the immigration policy approaches and immigration
officials treat unaccompanied children seeking entrance and asylum. The authors
point out the weaknesses of the current system and point to existing laws that can fix
them with enforcement. The article is descriptive and evaluative. The authors
reference public immigrationdata and government policies relating to immigration
regulation and protection. The authors explain more unaccompanied children are
entering the United Statesover the years. From 2001 2006, CBP arrested 86,000
unaccompanied children (248). In 2008, the United States detained 7211
unaccompanied children, compared to 6741 in 2004 and 200 in 1999. Those who
are not promptly deported wait to go to immigration court (248). The government
sends children migrants who have entered illegally to Department of Homeland
Security (DHS) (249). If they are unaccompanied, they then go to (HHS) s Office
of Refugee Resettlement as of 2002 (248). Before, they would go to Legacy
Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) (250). The children stay in detention

Going through the school day I had to stay focused and put myself in the right
mindset for the upcoming. I couldn t have any distractions. Looking back, I was
probably a little too serious. It was necessary, though, if I wanted to have a good

for the first game of the 2010 NBA Finals against the Celtics. I was ready to ball

the stat keepers and score keepers sit, I get ready to shoot around before the game. I
look around and all I see is an empty court. Just looking at the court fueled the
excitement that I felt for this upcoming game. It was the type of excitement that
could only be satisfied once the game started. As the game drew closer, I could smell

John Whiteley s The Art Of Assemblages
Artist have been making assemblages for many years. Materials and found objects
can be used by an artist as vehicles of expression. The 1961 show Art of
Assemblages responded to a time loaded with cultural transitions. In chapter two,
Whiteley talks about the artists in the show and how they experimented with found
pieces to give a new voice to seemingly unimportant and forgotten material.
Assemblage art reflects on the short lived nature of old objects. The original intent
of an object is reimagined, given new purpose and contained layers of meaning. In
chapter five, Whiteley examines the Nouveaux Realistes and how they managed to
bring art and life closer together. Their art was comparable to dada and pop art
because of the use of mass produced objects. Just like the artists in the Art of... Show

By using a more ideological approach rather than a stylistic one, these artists also
managed to shine a light on the wastefulness of western over production. When I use
discarded material, it makes me think about the story of the previous owner s story
but it also reminds me of the amount of waste each of produce, especially in regards
to clothing and fabric. In the section Curiosities, Collections and Memorabilia , Susan
Steward examines the symbolic meaning and narrative of the souvenir and how that
relates to the found object. She explains how people authenticate meaning through
souvenirs. Souvenirs authenticate the past while the past gives authentication to an
entire collection. Souvenirs remind us of an experience we ve had or allow us to
imagine an experience we ve never had. Steward says that a souvenir functions
Harvesters Vase
Harvester Vase: Hagia Triada
The Harvester Vase was found in Hagia Triada on the island of Crete. This vase is
from the Late Bronze Age, dating from 1550 to 1500 BC. The vase was originally
made in three parts and was fitted together. The face is oval shaped and has a
vessel on the top. The vase was carved on brownish steatite. The vase was originally
glided with gold and hammered to paper thin thickness. This piece is decorated with
low relief sculpture and shows a unique scene. The piece has pictorial designs. The
composition is powerful, rhythmical, and lively.
The vase is a sculptural piece. To get the full effect of the piece you have to see the
whole thing, which may cause you to have to walk around the piece. The piece is a

The man in front of him has his head turned backwards to look at the man who has
fallen behind him. These figures are vividly caught in their motion and differ from
the basic consistency of the other figures.
The Harvester Vase has a solid and strong composition. The composition gives
rhythm to the piece. The piece comes alive through all the movement shown
throughout the piece. This piece is done in a naturalistic way. The figures in the
piece have life like features and their clothes match the clothes of the present time.
The way the figures muscles are expressed are very life like and natural. The detail
of the work is unbelievable, especially given that the vase has a diameter of about
five inches. The Harvester Vase is a portrayal of the humanbody, emotions, and
expressions. The distribution of the vase shows stylistic uniformity.
The Harvester Vase can be interpreted in a few different ways. The other twenty
figures carry a stick like object with three rods at the end. This stick like object could
represent an instrument such as a pitchfork. This leads to the idea that the twenty
figures are harvesters. The harvesters seem to be marching in pairs. They seem to be
stomping, but are in step with one another. Their lips are pressed together which
could indicate silence. Although most of the men are in step, there is one exception.

How Did Rome Have Horses

Roman Empire War Horses
Horses are stunning creatures used across the world for centuries, and even in the
Roman empire. In ancient Rome, horses were mainly used for chariots, hauling
supplies, and light skirmishes. The Romans particular favorite breeds were
Andalusians, Dales Ponies, Arabians, Camargues, and Galician Ponies. Rome learned
about horses from Greeks and of how to best uses the different breeds also how to
efficiently train them. Horses were chosen for their stable temperament, great
stamina, resistance of extreme environments, and their ability to sustain depletion of
food. Horses have aided in wars, and transportation, without these amazing creatures

Though there origins are relatively unknown, the breed is one of the oldest horse in
the world. Camargues for centuries lived in harsh environments in marshes and
wetlands of Rhone delta. These horses are born black or dark brown but as they
grow to adulthood their coat lightens to grey which means under their grey coat is
black skin. This breed is small, standing only 13.1 to 14.3hh ( 65 to 70 in.) at the
withers and weighs from 770 to 1,100 pounds. Though they are small in size they
gain in strength as the can carry a full grown adult. The breed is considered rugged
and intelligent with a short neck, deep chest, compact body, a full mane and tail,
well jointed, and strong limbs. The breed was accepted by Celtic and Roman
invaders that entered the Iberian peninsula and are closely related to Iberian horse
breeds. Romans used Camargues along with Andalusian, Arabians and other breeds to

The Religious Of Religious Texts
Religious texts also known as scriptures refers to the texts which different religious
customs take it to be sacred or crucial to their religious traditions. They are normally
utilized to infer spiritual truths, evoke a deeper link with the divine, promote
communities identity, foster mystical experience and offering guidance to
community as well as individuals on spiritual practices. Numerous spiritual
movements as well as religions believe that their religious texts are divinely or
supernaturally inspired. Additionally, the monotheist faiths perceive their texts as
Word of Godand strive to do in accordance to its message. They also deem it as a
divine revelation. In USA, numerous significant religionworks are discussed
indicating how the US community perceived religion. Thus, this paper aims at
unravelling Frank Peretti s religious work in USA through his novel This Present
Darkness as well as how crucial it is within the broader context of American religious
practices.
Body
Religion has remained to be a vibrant as well as vital part of the American society.
Peretti in his fiction novel elaborates on how evil tries to triumph and take over the
small town of Ashton. This clearly indicates that Christianity has not been constant in
America and is faced with the immense forces of dark power. Certainly, new interests
and issues have emerged but they have not altered the role of religion in the
Americans life. Diversity forms the only characteristic that differentiates

skepticism when obtaining and evaluating evidence and help them pay attention to
more than just the numbers. To help the instructor make a vivid and lasting

The Difference between University and School
The Differences between University and School
Almost all the students around me said that university was so great. Do you feel
very curious about it? Do you want to know the reason? If you have not known it
very clearly, quickly read the words followed. Maybe they have already seen the
differences between school and university, for example the ways of studying are
extremely different, the arrangement is also becoming very free and there are many
changes in the teachers.
Why do I think that university and school have a lot of differences, the most
important point which make me realize that thing is the way of studying. When you
are in school you do not need to organize anything by yourself. You can just follow
your teachers requirements. However, in university it is quite different. Chinese
teacher allow you to recite you essays and ancient poetries and ask you to rewrite
them the other day. At the same time, accompanied with a great number of
vocabularies which are waiting for you to remember, there are a lot of questions
regarding to math, chemistry and physics. Although they make you feel tired and
bored, you should finish your homework everyday. You keep studying all the time
under your teachers construction. However when you enter university you can find it
surprising that teachers seldom assign homework and request you to do something. If
you don t want to waste your time, you need to be self monitor and fix up your time
correctly. Besides this point, the
The Full Title For The Musical By Trey Parker
This Paper Assigned is concerned with a famous new Broadway musical. The full
title for the musical is The Book of Mormon. The musical is primarily responsible
for satirizing organized religion and commenting on the credibility of the Latter Day
Saints Church as depicted in the real Book of Mormon and Mormon religion. The
Book of Mormonis conceived and was created by the creators of the famous and
controversial animated television show, South Park. The book, lyrics and music for
the musical were written by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. The music

In 2006, Parker and Stone met Lopez in London where they wrote a few songs for
the musical and came up with the basic plot for the musical. After a few years of
staging workshops and making changes to the production, the musical started with
developmental workshops in 2008. In August 2010, a final workshop took place
that lasted for five weeks. The producer for the play Scott Rudin wished for the
musical to not travel outside of New York Cityand to open up on Broadway. He
pushed everyone by booking the Eugene O Neill Theatre in New York City. After the
key players for the production were cast and construction on the design elements
began.
The production is co directed by Casey Nicholaw and Parker. Nicholaw also did the
choreography for the production. The following designers were involved with the
production: Scott Pask (Set Design), Anna Roth (Costume Design), Brian MacDevitt
(Lighting Design) and Brian Ronan (Sound Design). Stephen Oremus was the
musical director and vocal arranger for the production. He co created the
orchestrations with Larry Hochman.
The Book of Mormon premiered on Broadway on March 24, 2011 at the Eugene O
Neill Theatre in New York City. The production opened right after it opened for
previews on February 24. The musical won nine Tony Awards, including the Tony
Award for Best Musical. The musical started its first United States National Tour in
2012. Previews for the North American tour began on August 14,
Gentrification Has Taken The Bay Area
Adding to the inequalities and misfortunes within communities of color,
gentrification has taken the Bay Area by a storm. Gentrification is the purchasing of
deteriorated urban homes and areas, then the renovation by higher end and middle
class communities. An abundance of high end people rush into the Bay Area and
purchase up the real estate. Incoming middle and higher class take the Bay Area real
estate and revitalise it into up and coming neighborhoods, then increase rent prices.
Therefore, reducing affordable housing for communities of color. Therefore, this
revitalization is changing the character of communities because the Bay Area may
appear nicer, the communities of color are unable to afford the standard of living.

When cities begin their journey of being gentrified, many locals become displaced.
Displacement is when locals are uprooted from their homes, due to outside factors,
and forced to move elsewhere. According to the Urban Displacement Project
conducted by U.C. Berkeley, Gentrification results from both flows of capital and
people. The extent to which gentrification is linked to racial transition differs
across neighborhood contexts... Displacement takes many different forms direct
and indirect, physical or economic, and exclusionary and may result from either
investment or disinvestment (U.C. Berkeley). Many people are coming into San
Francisco s Bay Area because of how diverse each element is. However, according
to Census numbers, between 1990 and 2010, 35.7% of San Francisco s black
population dwindled (Bliss). 35.7% of the black community within San Francisco
suffered from displacement. An additional 53% of low income households in the
Bay Area are at risk for displacement and gentrification (U.C. Berkeley). This has
definitely left a dent within the diversity reputation held up by the Bay Area. When
such a strong large part of people leave, The City will experience a shift in culture
and community. Whether, it is the real estate, the food, the different cultures, the Bay
Area has always been known for being different. Perhaps, this is why so many
outsiders are coming in and buying up every piece of land they can. Whether their
intentions were to purchase land and

The History and Culture of Puerto Ricans
ETHNICITY AND EMPOWERMENT IN THE MIGRATION EXPERIENCE
The Puerto Rican people have a rich history of culture and ethnicity. Despite the
many migrations of the Puerto Ricans, an intense spirit of ethnicity and cultural pride
has followed these people wherever they have gone, whether that be migrations from
rural areas to industrialized cities or from the small island of Puerto Rico to the vast
mainland of the United States. However, the struggles of these people have become
obscured over the passing of generations. As evidenced by Shakira Ramos,
generations of Puerto Ricans born and raised in the United States aren t always well

The migratory currents of the time foreshadow later massive displacements (345).
These later migrations would ensue for the duration of the entire twentieth century,
bringing increasing numbers of Puerto Ricans into the United States.
With the Spanish American War of 1898 came added difficulty for the population of
Puerto Rico. Recently acquired by the United States, citizens of Puerto Rico were
actually citizens of nowhere until granted statutory citizenship to the United States in
1917. The Jones Act of 1917 merely granted Puerto Ricans a status of citizenship,
which was not equivalent to the constitutional citizenship. This partial citizenship,
however, did not prevent the United States from drafting Puerto Ricans into the
armed forces during World War I, or from recruiting Puerto Ricans to labor in defense
industries during the time of war. The desire for full citizenship as well as poor
economic conditions in the homeland resulted in the migrations of many Puerto
Ricans to the United States throughout the twentieth century.
One measure taken to benefit the Puerto Ricans was the passing of the Johnson Act in
1921, which restricted the immigration of Europeans to the United States. Passing
this act created increased availability of jobs for Puerto Ricans choosing to migrate to
the United States in search of better employment opportunities than could be found in
their homeland. While the aim of the Johnson Act
Examples Of Security Policy
A well written and understood security policy is key to protecting an organization
from security breaches or pit falls associated with DDos , malware and virus
attacks. During 2016 DDoS or distributed denial of service attacks were up by 71%
and most used an attack incorporating botnet malware. Botnets are used to send
email spam and engage in click fraud attacks and generate malicious traffic for DDoS
attacks. These attacks can not only slow down an organizations network traffic, but
can cost a company massive amounts of loss in capitol. A well constructed security
policy is the basis and structure to help create a comprehensive security program for
any organization. Some key areas that need to be developed for a good security policy

It s also key to remember the policy is designed to support the organization and not
the other way around.
The need for a comprehensive Security policy outweighs its cost for average size
companies. According to an article from Inc.com company s loss $400 billion a
year from hackers and companies will spend at least $170 billion on cybersecurity
by 2020. These numbers are staggering and a major cyber breach on an organization
can do costly and sometime irreparable damage. Not only does a breach financially
impact an organization, the public image of a company can be tarnished by an attack.
The 2013 data breach of Target cost the company $ 10 million dollars to settle with
effected customers and tarnished the company s ability to make sales during the
holiday shopping period when it occurred. The settlement required Target to improve
its data security, appoint a chief information security officer and reimburse the 40
million customers affected by the breach. If this story alone is not an incentive for
an organization to develop a comprehensive security policy there are many more
examples that can be presented. It is human nature to say, it will never happen to me
, but when you organization is responsible to customers data and privacy, a company
has a not only legal responsibility but also an ethical one.

Pros And Cons Of The Nba Draft
The one and done rule is a slang term used to explain an NBA player who stays in
college for at least one year before entering the NBA Draft. (Anon., n.d.) The NBA
draft is an annual event where 30 franchises in the National Basketball Association

Inclusion Support Core Curriculum Project For Reading
Project Description This is an Inclusion Support Core Curriculum Project for reading.
My goal is to align instruction in Language Arts Literacy with the Common Core
Standards. Each grade level in Middle School features standards that describe what
students should know and be able to do to, in order to succeed at the next grade level.
This document is organized into instructional units with key concepts and skills
identified, that suggest the pacing guide highlights and identifies resources,
instructional technology and assessment. These resources were selected to provide
educators with the tools and guidance to enhance instruction and maximize student
learning. The Trenton Public School District is committed to making sure that
students develop content mastery and apply literacy skills in order to be ready for
college and career. One of the key requirements of the Common Core State Standards
for Reading is that all students must be able to comprehend texts of steadily
increasing complexity as they progress through school. All students must be able to
read text with comprehension and collaborate about text in discussions and questions
and answers. Rationale This course is intended for the six grade students. I am
selecting to create this literacy design program based upon the educational policy.
This curriculum will be a practical design because of funding concerns with this
school district. The Educational policy supports the learning curriculum instruction

Why People Fought At D-Day
The things I know about D Day already is that it was a battle and many people died
that in it. On June 6, 1944, american troops landed on the beach on the beach at 6:30
A.M., ready to attack.(history.com). The day before, about 5,000 ships and 11,000
airplanes started going there.(history.com). This attack was planned very good by
making the Germans think they were going to attack at one area, while really there
were going to attack the Omaha Beach.(history.com). About 150,000 men fought at D
Day.(dday.org). At the end of the battle, about 4,000 Americans had died, but we still
won the battle against Germany.(dday.org). This was one of the hardest battles for
America, but we pushed hard and went through it to win it.(dday.org). Operation

We had many ways to trick the opponnet into thinking that we were going to do
something that we were really not going to. We had more potential than the other

which made us strong. Are numbers of men showed that we wanted to win this
battle, not just to win, but to stop the war and have peace among the nations. We
wanted to stop Hitler from killing innocent people that didn t deserve to die. This
was way more than just a victory, it showed people that we are not afraid to attack
other people when we need to. This battle that we won gave hope to America. Even
though many people died, we still won. After flying bullets, bombs, machine guns,
and no shelter, we fought through it and made Germany surrender. If we had not of
won this war, this world would be different from what it is today. This battle will
always be rememberd because we showed the true color of the United States, we

The Role of Women in DoyleВґs A Scandal in Bohemia Essay
Doyle s A Scandal in Bohemia follows the story of the famous detective Sherlock
Holmes on his adventures to retrieve a disgraceful photograph of Irene Adler and the
King of Bohemia. The king, now engaged to a different woman, is fearful that Adler
may use the photo as blackmail. In A Scandal in Bohemia, the apparent role of
women is minuscule. The only female emphasis is on one woman, who is the object
of Holmes detective inquiries. In A Scandal in Bohemia, society places women at a
subordinate level, pushing them to the background and therefore never allowing the
reader to fully understand their character. Watson describes women as second class
citizens at the start of the story without directly saying so. Watson comments: My own

The King also fears the revelation of the scandalous photograph simply because it lies
in the hands of a woman. His interests to dominate this woman, Irene Adler, are
evident in the callous actions the King directs towards her. The King states, Five
attempts have been made. Twice burglars in my pay ransacked her house. Once we
diverted her luggage when she traveled. Twice she has been waylaid. There has
been no result (218). This disdain and oblivion towards Adler s privacy leads one
to reassess the King s motives. Is he actually interested in the photograph or do his
actions focus solely on hurting Irene Adler? The King wants the upper hand on this
beautiful, yet extremely intelligent woman. The King s attitude towards his future
wife and his former lover, Irene Adler, fits into society s narrowly defined roles of
women. In British Victorian society, women were the nurtures and the protectors of
the children, and what some deemed as only monetarily valuable items. This female
instinct to nurture is one stereotype that is greatly reflected in the personality of
Irene Adler. Adler s willingness to help is a quality that Watson, as well as other men
in society, felt all women should possess. Watson acknowledges this nurturing
tendency when he says, but I know that I never felt more heartily ashamed of myself
when I saw the beautiful creature against which I was conspiring, or the grace and
kindliness with which she

Military Spending Definition
The neoclassical theorists have different opinions about the military spending and
economic wellbeing, and they perceive defense expenditure as a civic good that is
provided by the state. Therefore, the regime seems like a rational player, who tries to
capitalize on the interests of the state by balancing the security benefits and
opportunity costs of the military spending (Nincic, Miroslav, and Thomas 1979). The
supply side models of the monetary growth and military defence association within a
neoclassical theory normally derive from functions of whole production (Griffin,
Larry, Joel, Devine and Michael1982). Marxism believes that defense spending and
militarism is a social phenomenon that has historical characteristic, and they dwell

The results from the empirical studies demonstrated that there exists a positive link
between income military spending and income disparity. Vadlamannati (2008) also
examined income disparity and defense disbursements in the South Asian nations
using a panel data that was extracted from 1975 2005. The experimental results
demonstrated that the higher military spending causes increased income disparity
after adjusting the major institutional and macroeconomic variables. It is apparent
from the discoveries of the experiential literature are inconsistent whereby some get
the backing of the constructive connection between economic well being and military
spending while the rest do not. The explanations that bring about such varying results
may be attributed to the method applied, sample size, functional form used in
analysis, among other control variables (Nincic, Miroslav, and Thomas 1979). As
such, the empirical studies should be treated with the tested underpinning hypotheses

Artificial Heart Devices Essay
Artificial Heart Devices
In its never ending pursuit of advancement, science has reached a crucial
biotechnological plateau, the creation of artificial organs. Such a concept may seem
easy to comprehend until one considers the vast knowledge required to provide a
functional substitute for one of nature s creations. One then realizes the true
immensity of this breakthrough. Since ancient times, humans have viewed the heart
as more than just a physical part of the body. It has been thought the seat of the soul,
the source of emotion, and the center of each individual s existence. For many years,
doctors and researchers left the heart untouched because they thought it was too
delicate, too crucial to withstand the rigors of surgery.... Show more content on

Artificial heart devices are indeed a biotechnical wonder. Although they are not yet
perfected for permanent implantation, they are the most reliable substitutes for bad
heart parts until other functional, transplantables can be located. The Jarvik 7 was
the first artificial device heart which was created by Symbion Incorporated. This
system was used to replace the heart of Dr.
Barney Clark, the first artificial heart patient. The device lasted for one hundred and
twelve days before Mr. Clark sank into an agony of complications and died. The
Jarvik 7 was implanted four more times to replace failing hearts, with similar results,
before the federal authorities halted the procedure.
Other devices have made progress since the Jarvik 7. One of the more successful
inventions is the left ventricle assist device (LAVD). This device incorporates a host
of hard won technological advances. Perhaps the most important is its
quot;bio compatible quot; materials, which have allowed the LAVD to function
without problems for well over a year in a patient s body. The LAVD has been
implanted in more than seven hundred people for up to seventeen months, as they
have awaited human heart transplants(Stipp 38). It is difficult to fathom the great
scientific ingenuity that was required to develop these devices. However, we must
not be blinded from seeing the whole picture. In assuming its role as a

Child Seduction And Self-Representation On The Internet
Pedophiles in the internet:
In the scholarly article Child Seduction and Self Representation on the Internet by
Ethel Quayle and Max Taylor, we learn how the internet plays a big role in how
pedophiles may engage in child pornography and how they can locate children to
potentially abuse. Offenders also use the internet to get in contact and to
communicate with others who are also engaging in child pornography and pedophilia.
The following is an explanation of child sexual abuse that happens in the internet.
Quayle and Taylor explain that offenders use the internet for many reason. The
main reason is to remain anonymous, and to show that physical harm has not been
done if accused. Quayle and Taylor said, The function of online resources such as
child pornography is to heighten sexual arousal and disinhibition, and to aid in the
seduction of children through fantasy manipulation and masturbation (2001, p.
599). The individual in this scholarly article was named Q.X. Q.X was 33 years old
at the time of the study and he knew he had a sexual attraction to younger boys
(Quayle Taylor, 200, p. 599). The time Q.X bought a computer he wanted to be
able to access child pornography (Quayle Taylor, 200, p. 600). Q.X also had
fantasies. A conversation with Q. X s was written in the article and he mentioned
that he wanted a relationship with a boy who was 11 or 12 years old (Quayle
Taylor, 200, p. 601). Q.X then began to get into chat rooms where he would get
pictures and
The Philosophical View Of Anthropocentrism Essay
Introduction
1788. The year that Indigenous Australians would mark in shame and the rest of
Australia would celebrate. From the perspective of 2016, the events which took
place in 1788 were barbaric, destructive and horrific to say the least. Indigenous
Australians were shot, enslaved and stolen by the early settlers, all because they
were seen as inferior, less civilized and were thus, merely savages for the benefit of
a superior kind. The first part of this essay will therefore discuss how the
philosophical view of anthropocentrism was embedded into the early European
culture, and how it justified their actions. Further, it will be shown how a legal
pluralism was used to manipulate the Indigenous Australians, and how it seemingly
justified their actions. These philosophical views will aid in the understanding of why
the Indigenous were treated in so harshly, and why they deserve recognition for their
injustices. Further, this discussion will aid in understanding of why the relationship
between the Indigenous and the state has developed in such an undesirable manor.
The second part of this essay will discuss proposed mechanisms which will try and
provide solutions, such as recognition, to the historical wrongs associated with
colonisation. These mechanisms include the proposal of an amendment made to the
Constitution, whereby Indigenous Australians will be granted constitutional
recognition. Further, a proposed mechanism is the creation of a treaty between the

Three to One Doctor Sharing
Coronation, Castor and Consort are small towns in rural Alberta. All three lie
along highway 12, approximately half an hour from each other. These small
towns, although quite distant from each other share one very important thing a
doctor on call. This is becoming a more common trend in rural areas with a decline
in health care physicians willing to work in such a secluded area far from
amenities. This means that some days a physician is available in one town for as
little as an hour or simply not present in the hospital at all. Health care is poor to
limited for these ruralareas, since there are far more people seeking medical
attention than can be properly assisted in a reasonable amount of time. The
availability of medical staff is crucial to the quality of health care provided in a
hospital (NRHA). There is generally a lack of medical staff including physicians
and nurses in rural hospitals. Even the shortage of a single physician is extremely
likely to have widespread impacts in a rural community (NAC 2008).
In order for these rural communities to maintain a positive, functioning health care
system, more physicians and nurses need to be recruited to work in the rural setting.
This means encouraging more health care physicians and staff to choose rural
settings to work (NRHA 2003). With all of the definite downfalls of a rural
community, there are many reasons rural communities are struggling to maintain
adequate staff at hospitals. Students in the medical
Dbq 3rd Estate French Revolution
During the 1700s, France s government was run by a three system estate system.
The First Estate was made up by the powerful clergy members, while the Second
Estate was made with nobles. Peasants and working men made the Third Estate, also
the largest estate. In this large estate there was a little class named the Bourgeoisie
was a part of the Third Estate. Though the Bourgeoisie was highly educated and
always had stable professions, they were not set aside from the peasants. The Third
Estate was treated very poorly during the 1700s. Life was not suitable for the working
class. The mistreatment and inequality led to the French Revolution. Inequality during
this time period meant that things were not the same throughout each class. Unequal
power between the estates, abuse of the Third Estate, and the taxes and price raises
were the three reasons that outweighed the many political, social, and economic
factors that led to the French Revolution.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the Third Estate made up the majority of the population, they only
got one vote. As seen in the chart based off of the three estates in France during
1789, 97%of the citizens created the Third Estate (Doc 2). One vote for 97% of
the population was unequal, and no one s voice was heard separately. The Third
Estate had only one vote, the First and Second Estate were able to pass anything
that pleased them. According to the English Bill of Rights written by the English
Parliament, That the pretended power of suspending of the laws or the execution of
law is regal authority without consent of Parliament is illegal... (Doc 8) The English
had the same issue and solved it earlier. France should have inferred that the issues
would appear and used the English s struggles and solutions for their own good. The
First and Second Estates did everything in their power for the Third Estate to have
very minimal

Does History Repeat Itself Essay. Does History Repeat Itself? - YouTube

  • 1. Does History Repeat Itself Essay Crafting an essay on the notion of historical repetition is undoubtedly a challenging endeavor. The complexity arises not only from the need to delve into the vast tapestry of historical events but also from the inherent ambiguity surrounding the concept itself. Unraveling the threads of time and drawing parallels between disparate epochs requires a nuanced understanding of historical patterns, human behavior, and the myriad factors influencing the course of events. One of the challenges lies in navigating the fine line between recognizing genuine historical recurrences and succumbing to oversimplification. History, as a subject, is rife with intricate details, multifaceted causes, and unpredictable outcomes. Attempting to distill this complexity into a coherent argument demands a delicate balance between generalization and specificity. Moreover, the very nature of historical repetition is a subject of debate among scholars. Some argue that it stems from ingrained human behaviors and societal structures, while others emphasize the uniqueness of each historical moment. Balancing these perspectives in an essay requires a critical examination of conflicting theories and the ability to synthesize diverse viewpoints. Furthermore, the task is not confined to a mere recounting of historical events. It necessitates a deep dive into the underlying forces at play, such as political, economic, and cultural dynamics. Drawing connections between seemingly disparate occurrences demands a comprehensive understanding of the context in which they unfolded. In addition to the intellectual rigor, an essay on historical repetition requires a certain level of creativity. The ability to discern subtle patterns and draw insightful parallels contributes to the depth and richness of the argument. However, this creative aspect also poses the risk of oversimplification or misinterpretation, demanding a cautious approach. In conclusion, tackling the question of whether history repeats itself is a formidable task that demands a combination of analytical acumen, historical insight, and creative thinking. Striking the right balance between depth and clarity, avoiding reductionism, and navigating the complexities of historical interpretation are the hurdles one must overcome in crafting a compelling essay on this intricate topic. • 3. Explain why the coupon rate and the yield to maturity determine why the bonds would trade at a discount, premium, or par. It s necessary to determine the yield to maturity and coupon rate because the the discount rate for a coupon bond is its yield to maturity, which equates the present value of the future cash flows of bond relative to its price. Generally, a bond trade at a discount because its coupon rate comparatively lesser than as compared to it yield to maturity. The Social Media And Communications Industry Essay In the social media and communications industry, many companies began on a small scale and progressed to improve their product by merging with a new company to create a stronger product and expand their market internationally while some businesses remained in North America and did not merge with other companies but settled for the status quo. In this paper, I will discuss two companies that chose different paths and the pros and cons of the business decisions each company made. Mark Zuckerberghad a vision to create change. He has always said that was his goal. What he created is one of the most groundbreaking forms of social networking in history. Facebook began in 2004 and eventually made Mark Zuckerberg a billionaire. What began as an idea with his friends from Harvard University, is now one of the most famous companies in the world. He wanted to change the way people communicate, so he and his friends designed an original internet platform called Facemash in 2003 which was just available to Harvard students. This served their purpose for a while and for two years students were able to communicate and share ideas within their school community. Soon it expanded to include other colleges in the Northeast and California. Zuckerberg had strong leadership skills and being a Harvard educated student prepared him to be successful in business. He was well known on campus and was quite an influential student leader. He decided that just serving university students wasn t

  • 9. Evaluating Nursing Codes Why is a universally accepted set of codes for diagnoses and procedures/interventions important? An accurate and specific documentation of universally accepted set of codes are important for the protection of healthcare providers as well as increased reimbursement for services received. These codes are for the validation of which services the patient received from their health care provider ( (Page, 2009). Having the correct codes in place insures the provider with the information needed by the health insurance carrier. The CPT codes are used to explain which procedures the patient received from their physicians. These are usually used for outpatient procedures. Authorizations from the insurance company may need to be obtained before that service is done. If these codes are not correct, when the claim is filed for reimbursement, the insurance company may deny the coverage. The patient may be responsible for the entire expense of their service. More often than not, the facility ends up with the burden the costs. There are many times the patient has her procedure done before the required authorization was obtained. There is a 97% increase in China s industrial production since 2007, reaching a value of $3.7 trillion (Ross). This historic, exponential growth over the past decade is mainly because of monstrous expansion of industry and urbanization. However, this requires a tremendous use of energy, most of which China generates from coal, the most readily available, yet dirtiest, source. Coal is a cheap, yet harmful, fossil fuel for generating electricity and China is home to one of the world s largest coal reserves. China burns four billion tons of coal each year, more than the United States, Europe, and Japan combined (Kahn and Yardley). Most homes, power plants, and factories run on energy from coal. In fact, 70% of China s energy three quarters of electricity generation come from coal (Larson). These energy requirements are remarkably high because China must power its heavy industry plants. China s steel makers, for instance, use approximately one fifth more energy per ton than the national average, and cement makers require 45% more power. Furthermore, the amount of energy consumed by the aluminum industry is comparable to the amount used by the entire country s commercial sector (Kahn and Yardley). In comparison to the rest of the world, Chinese factories are inferior. Many do not operate or control pollution efficiently, which aggravates the pollution problem even more. Few coal driven power plants use modern

An example of this is when a woman has a child, she becomes a mother. Her role is to care for and love her child and prepare them for adulthood. • 13. Other People s Children By Jonathan Kozol Jonathan Kozol, in the chapter entitled Other People s Children, discusses and justifies the kinds of limitations placed on children who must attend poorly funded, educationally inferior school. Kozol argues that children in the inner city schools are not fit to go to college and that they should be trained in schools for the jobs they will eventually hold, even though these jobs are less prestigious, lowest level jobs in society. Kozol s argumentis based on the fact that students from the inner city or rather from the societies that do not have enough job opportunities are not supposed to learn much because their society cannot accommodate most of the courses that are often found in the urban settings. For example, there is a point where Kozol cites one of the businessman s statement which says, It doesn t make sense to offer something that most of these urban kids will never use. The businessman continues to argue, no one expects these ghetto kids to go to college. Most of them are lucky if they are literate. If we can teach some useful skills, get them to stay in schooland graduate, and maybe into jobs, we re giving them the most that they can hope for (Kozol 376). This statement clearly indicate that the society should accept the inequalities and exercise the same inequalities even in education. Despite the fact that Kozol could be right in some ways, this paper will argue that Kozol s arguments are baseless, biased and that they should not be applied. In other

I want to know how home life influences a child s mental health, where children can go to receive help if they need it, and how I can better their mental health to make up for what is lacking in their home life. The domain I am going to focus on is the mental domain. This ties into my project of volunteering at the Orchard Place, a children s mental health facility. With my project, I can learn how children who grow up in a home of neglect are effected, can get help, and what steps they take to ensure the effects of their home life will be short term. My project is going to entail two main parts. The first part is volunteering at the Orchard Place, a child s mental health facility. We will help at the afterschool program on Wednesday October 12th. While there, we will help children with homework, read to them, and play/interact with them. The second part involves bringing a gift basket full of school supplies to the Orchard Place as a donation when we visit. The Orchard Place puts on the program we are volunteering for every Wednesday. The program is designed to give children a place to go after early release from school on Wednesdays so they are not going home to an empty house. Since children are in need of homework help at the Orchard place, our donation of school supplies will help better their mental health by providing them with the tools
  • 16. Rebecca Clarke s `` Cinderella No More `` I decided to choose a theme for my final paper which will be related to my instrument viola. I choose Rebecca Clarke , probably the most prominent women composer who wrote for viola. Most of Clarke s compositions were written in the first three decades of the twentieth century, her works was largely unknown until the 1970th. Such is the curiously small impact she made as a composer in England in her life time that the first edition of Lionel Turtis s book Cinderella no more doesn t mention her viola Sonata, even though now violist from all over the world would regard it as one of the principal works for the instrument of its era. This seems very interesting to me and I will discuss why it happened and why women composers had no space in the professional society of that time. Also, I will talk about Rebecca Clarke as one of the firs women who broke the rules in a male dominated musical world ( she became one of the first female professional musician in the orchestra). Interest in her writing has grown a lot recently and many of her works entered the standard viola repertoire. Because she wrote during the time of first feminist wave in England and her rediscovering overlaps with the second wave feminism in America musicologist mainly discuss her personality and her compositions in the implications of gender on analysis. In her novel, When the Emperor was Divine, Julie Otsuka develops the concepts of memory and identity as they applied to Japanese Americans 70 years ago. Before WWII, the featured family saw themselves as American rather than Japanese. Three years of internment later, they are not so sure. Their heritage, an aspect of their identity once only present in their heirlooms and the food they ate, had been perverted by society into a monstrosity malicious enough to justify their mass incarceration. The disparity between the life they once lived and the life the life they lived in the camps leaves them hollow, shells of their former selves, even when they finally return home. Unfortunately, the burning stares will just be the beginning of the family s mental torment; for the next three years, not even the burning Utah sun will lift the darkness of the discord within the family s identity. The middle of the novel details the transgression of the family s lives from color into grayscale, a decline paralleled by the bleaching of their identities in the dust of the day and the staining of them in their reminiscence at night; they wear the black and white stripes of a prisoner. For instance, family s marginalization was represented symbolically when the boy wrote his name in the dust across the top of the table. All through the night, while he slept, more dust blew through the walls. By morning his name was gone (64). The disappearance of the boy s name via a motif of dust is the figurative manifestation of the idea that the world considers all the Japanese American prisoners to be the same; the boy is just one detainee among a sea of identical enemies. Moreover, Otsuka included another layer to that facelessness; the 4 family members are known only as the boy, the girl, his/her father, and his/her mother, their names never mentioned. The family once had a place in the world, and that has been stripped away from them with their individuality. However, the family is never complacent in their predicament, with each person dealing with their predicament differently. The boy in

The 1961 show Art of Assemblages responded to a time loaded with cultural transitions. In chapter two, Whiteley talks about the artists in the show and how they experimented with found pieces to give a new voice to seemingly unimportant and forgotten material. Assemblage art reflects on the short lived nature of old objects. The original intent of an object is reimagined, given new purpose and contained layers of meaning. In chapter five, Whiteley examines the Nouveaux Realistes and how they managed to bring art and life closer together. Their art was comparable to dada and pop art because of the use of mass produced objects. Just like the artists in the Art of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She explains how people authenticate meaning through souvenirs. Souvenirs authenticate the past while the past gives authentication to an entire collection. Souvenirs remind us of an experience we ve had or allow us to imagine an experience we ve never had. Steward says that a souvenir functions

Offenders also use the internet to get in contact and to communicate with others who are also engaging in child pornography and pedophilia. The following is an explanation of child sexual abuse that happens in the internet. Quayle and Taylor explain that offenders use the internet for many reason. The main reason is to remain anonymous, and to show that physical harm has not been done if accused. Quayle and Taylor said, The function of online resources such as child pornography is to heighten sexual arousal and disinhibition, and to aid in the seduction of children through fantasy manipulation and masturbation (2001, p. 599). • 41. The Philosophical View Of Anthropocentrism Essay Introduction 1788. The year that Indigenous Australians would mark in shame and the rest of Australia would celebrate. From the perspective of 2016, the events which took place in 1788 were barbaric, destructive and horrific to say the least. Indigenous Australians were shot, enslaved and stolen by the early settlers, all because they were seen as inferior, less civilized and were thus, merely savages for the benefit of a superior kind. The first part of this essay will therefore discuss how the philosophical view of anthropocentrism was embedded into the early European culture, and how it justified their actions. Further, it will be shown how a legal pluralism was used to manipulate the Indigenous Australians, and how it seemingly justified their actions. These philosophical views will aid in the understanding of why the Indigenous were treated in so harshly, and why they deserve recognition for their injustices. Further, this discussion will aid in understanding of why the relationship between the Indigenous and the state has developed in such an undesirable manor. The second part of this essay will discuss proposed mechanisms which will try and provide solutions, such as recognition, to the historical wrongs associated with colonisation. These mechanisms include the proposal of an amendment made to the Constitution, whereby Indigenous Australians will be granted constitutional recognition. Further, a proposed mechanism is the creation of a treaty between the Indigenous
  • 42. Three to One Doctor Sharing Coronation, Castor and Consort are small towns in rural Alberta. All three lie along highway 12, approximately half an hour from each other. These small towns, although quite distant from each other share one very important thing a doctor on call. This is becoming a more common trend in rural areas with a decline in health care physicians willing to work in such a secluded area far from amenities. This means that some days a physician is available in one town for as little as an hour or simply not present in the hospital at all. Health care is poor to limited for these ruralareas, since there are far more people seeking medical attention than can be properly assisted in a reasonable amount of time. The availability of medical staff is crucial to the quality of health care provided in a hospital (NRHA). There is generally a lack of medical staff including physicians and nurses in rural hospitals. Even the shortage of a single physician is extremely likely to have widespread impacts in a rural community (NAC 2008). In order for these rural communities to maintain a positive, functioning health care system, more physicians and nurses need to be recruited to work in the rural setting. This means encouraging more health care physicians and staff to choose rural settings to work (NRHA 2003). With all of the definite downfalls of a rural community, there are many reasons rural communities are struggling to maintain adequate staff at hospitals. Students in the medical
  • 43. Dbq 3rd Estate French Revolution During the 1700s, France s government was run by a three system estate system. The First Estate was made up by the powerful clergy members, while the Second Estate was made with nobles. Peasants and working men made the Third Estate, also the largest estate. In this large estate there was a little class named the Bourgeoisie was a part of the Third Estate. Though the Bourgeoisie was highly educated and always had stable professions, they were not set aside from the peasants. The Third Estate was treated very poorly during the 1700s. Life was not suitable for the working class. The mistreatment and inequality led to the French Revolution. Inequality during this time period meant that things were not the same throughout each class. Unequal power between the estates, abuse of the Third Estate, and the taxes and price raises were the three reasons that outweighed the many political, social, and economic factors that led to the French Revolution.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though the Third Estate made up the majority of the population, they only got one vote. As seen in the chart based off of the three estates in France during 1789, 97%of the citizens created the Third Estate (Doc 2). One vote for 97% of the population was unequal, and no one s voice was heard separately. The Third Estate had only one vote, the First and Second Estate were able to pass anything that pleased them. According to the English Bill of Rights written by the English Parliament, That the pretended power of suspending of the laws or the execution of law is regal authority without consent of Parliament is illegal... (Doc 8) The English had the same issue and solved it earlier. France should have inferred that the issues would appear and used the English s struggles and solutions for their own good. The First and Second Estates did everything in their power for the Third Estate to have very minimal
