The Importance Of Plagiarism In College Students
In short: Don t do it. But in truth, that is not good enough.
I have assigned and graded or had graded by TA s tens of thousands of bits of writing by college
students over the years. A lot of my friends are teachers. My wife is a teacher. I ve seen it all. If you
are a student trying to avoid getting caught plagiarizing, I can help you.
You need to know the following three things. These facts will save you from getting tossed out of
college or having a mark on your high school record.
1) Teachers hate plagiarism more than they hate stepping on puppies and kittens. If there are two
students in a class, and one has plagiarized an assignment and one has crushed some puppies and
kittens, and the teacher only has time to turn one of them it to the administration, they ll turn in the
plagiarizer.
2) There has almost never been a case where a student was proved to have plagiarized something (by
matching the original to the student s paper) where the plagiarism wasn t already blindingly obvious to
the teacher to begin with. In other words, when you plagiarize something, it is always spotted
immediately. If some other student tells you that they got away with it, they are lying to you (like
House says, people always lie) or the teacher chose to not turn them in. Yet.
Given this, you should understand that plagiarism is never a good strategy for improving your grade.
Just don t do it.

Gloria Clors And Gestalt Therapy
In the Gloria tapes, there were three different types of therapy sessions presented in each tape. The
three types of sessions were Person Centered Therapy represented by Carl Rogers, Rational Therapy
also known as Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy represented by Albert Ellis, and Gestalt Therapy
represented by Fritz Perls. The sessions were given to the same women named Gloria that presented a
different problem each time. The goal of experiencing each type of therapy session was to figure out
what therapy style out of the three best helped Gloria.
The first therapy style Gloria was introduced to was Person Centered Therapy and the therapist was
Carl Rogers. Viewing Rogers at my own viewpoint, for the time period, he seems unbelievable. ...

The kind of therapy was very much less confrontational when compared to Gestalt Therapy as well as
a lot more talking. Ellis guided the conversation more and tended to ask questions that involve her
expressing herself less compared to the other two kinds of therapies. My first impression of this kind
of therapy was very negative, for some reason I believed that it was not quite beneficial for Gloria,
however, when I watched it a second time, I realized that my interpretation was different and that this
therapy and the advice from the therapist was actually benefit Gloria. The connection between the two
seemed to start off quick because Gloria was actually a fan of his book but really seemed to firm was
when Ellis brought up the mangled arm it really seemed like they were on the same level. I believe
that this session overall helped Gloria thinking more and caused her to take more actions especially
because of the homework assignment that Ellis said he would give her if she was his client. What
really shown me that the session was beneficial for Gloria was when Ellis said assume the worse .
When Ellis said this, Gloria pulled out a cigarette which to me says that his words are getting to her
and making her think because I have noticed that she seems to smoke when she feels nervous or
pressured and needs to calm down. Thus, this means that she is trying to think through Ellis s

Mesopotamian Creation Myths
The Mesopotamian creation myth incorporated many characteristics that define to most myths in
general. One of the characteristics incorporated in the creation myth is that it takes place in the distant
past, or in this case the beginning or pre history. This characteristic is initially described in the opening
passage of the Enuma Elish, when on high [enuma elish] heaven and earth had not yet been named
(Leeming 19), and further codified by describing how the gods Apsu and Tiamat created the silt
deposits Lahmu and Lahamu, which we call land (Leeming 19). A second characteristic of myths
portrayed in this creation story is that it is a tale of supernatural beings, goddesses, or gods. Besides,

Portrayal Of Relationships Through Media Effects On...
Zainab Hanif Warind Ms. Maria Kamal Media Psychology (Elective) 27 April 2016 The Portrayal of
Relationships Through Media Effects of TV Serials on Pakistani Audiences Television is the new
babysitter for children as young as a few months old. Being the powerful tool media is, and children
being highly impressionable, it is in fact inevitable that they would learn / imitate behavior they see on
screen. Thus it is very important to monitor what they watch. But the process never stops. Young
adults, and then on to adults, everyone is watching television and learning social phenomena, figuring
out what s acceptable and not acceptable amongst the society they live in. It s safe to say in Pakistan,
there is a lot of foreign media influence, but the prevalence of TV serials is anything but scarce. In
fact, watching TV is a primary source of entertainment for a large part of the population, and where
there is heavy viewing; there are greater effects (Anderson et al. 1024 1033). The audience primarily
consists of housewives, passing their time through the day watching these TV serials, and even young
boys and girls. The question is that what are these serials portraying and how are they affecting their
real life relationships? Are they being taught something that they shouldn t be? The aspect of a visual
medium has been around for decades, so it s safe to say, every aspect of social relationships have been
explored, in the home and outside; even the most unlikely or unnatural.

Hip Hop Has Influenced Popular Culture
Music is and will continue to be a unifier. It brings people together in many different ways such as:
fashion, language and of course it can be the voice of political problems a community or nation may
face. There are many genres in music, Jazz, blues, pop, rock, reggae and the list continues. However,
no other music genre has evolved and caught the hearts of many like Hip Hop. In the last decade, Hip
hop has become very influential and globally known around the world. It has influenced language, and
has been used to voice political statements. Part of the reason hip hop gaining so much growth is

Competitive Authoritarianism
A. INTRODUCTION
In this article, Toby Dodge talks about the shift of Iraqi politics from imposition of democracy by the
United States after the invasion, and the transition to competitive authoritarianism after Nouri al
Maliki s election as the Prime Minister in April 2006.
This critical review will first provide a summary of the arguments put forth by the author, and then
provide a critical analysis of the same in context of the article s persuasiveness.
B. SUMMARY
The author traces Iraqi politics from the US led invasion of March 2003 to Maliki s attempts to crush
all opposition before the provincial elections of April 2013. Dodge s main argument focuses on how
Maliki has attempted to impose competitive authoritarianism by undermining ... Show more content

CRITICAL ANALYSIS
The article provides a comprehensive argument about how Maliki has turned Iraq into competitive
authoritarianism . This claim has been supported through a multiplicity of instances. The author
clarifies why he calls Iraq a competitive authoritarianism instead of terming it as complete
authoritarianism, by explaining how the latter involves removing the opportunities for opposition
completely, while the former shapes the field of competition to its own advantage(244). Such an
explanation, along with the use of various instances to support the claim, makes his main argument
very persuasive.
While he provides enough evidences to support his main claim, the author does not give sufficient
evidence to support his idea of the aims with which the Bush administration decided to invade
Iraq(243), thus raising doubts about the sections talking of the US s intentions in Iraq and hence, the
reasons why Iraq s reconstruction was carried out in such haste.
D. CONCLUSION
The author s main claim of Iraq being a competitive authoritarian regime is justified with ample
evidence. The author also talks about the reasons which led to the transformation of Iraq into
competitive authoritarianism. However, the author does not provide a very persuasive argument for his
sub claim about the intent with which the US invaded

Analysis Of The Book Reena Patel Essay
The author of the book, Reena Patel is a feminist scholar and the theme of her book is specifically on
the mobility and inequality faced by women in the society due to their timings of employment at the
Call Center Industry. The study is the first in depth research on the transnational call center industry
which has been written from the women worker s point of view. Reena Patel conducted an
Ethnographic study in the cities of Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The new challenges faced by
them with regard to the night shift employment alongside the opportunities to work in an upscale
globalised work environment, and the attraction towards a relatively high wage is a source of fast
access to money.
The Call center Industry with its globalised work environment and high wages has attracted many
women in liberating their lives. The main theme of the book around which the rich narratives are
woven for women is the Spatial temporal conversion regarding their flexibility in the urban setup in
India. The repercussions experienced by women of exploring the night as a time and space of the night
time, belonging to men according to the traditional Indian society idea. There are patriarchal notions
attached to the idea of women getting out of the households at night to work in a public space and is
vulnerable to the rising violence in our country against women. The nocturnal space is considered to
be a man s domain and if invaded by a female figure becomes problematic for the woman

The Household Circle Of India
1.The household circle in France and that of India display numerous similarities. However, it may be
that such is the case in most countries where families are kept together. In India, distant relatives like
grandparents and cousins either settle collectively or maintain a near distance if living separately.
Indians are not as likely as Americans to relocate away from their families and, when it is
economically possible, prefer to stay in the same geographic area. Though it seems that the French
differentiate from that of my own culture due to that fact that they maintain relations with those of the
enlarged household till the third or fourth generation. Also, on page 60 Au Contraire mentions that the
extended kinsfolk gather together for a Sunday lunch. This is generally not seen in India as members
of the lengthened household may reside adjacent to each other, but do not meet as often as the French.
Nonetheless, as an Indian American, my society maintains most of the aspects of the Indian
community and a little of the typical American culture. The French concept of the state of a young
adult is similar to my cultural structure due to the fact that the youth gravitate to stay nearby parents
until marriage in order to remain under their watchful eye and to refrain from an involvement of
morally disliked activities. Similarly, as mentioned on page 60 of the book Au Contraire, in France,
children attend universities in close proximity to their homes and lean to disapprove of

Personal Culture And National Culture
Part B In this paper I will begin by defining personal culture and national culture. After, I will then
elaborate my own personal and national culture. I will continue to talk about the subject with the
person that I have chosen for my cultural group, my mother, and I will identify her personal and
national culture. Lastly, I will talk about my own personality and how it has a connection with my
own natural culture; knowing this is important, it lets us know who we are, and how we act with
people who are from different cultures. Personal culture, is a share combination of an individual s
traits, skills, and personality. It is formed within the context of their ethnic, racial, familial, and
educational environments. Everyone s personal culture is unique to them (Mensah, 2015, CH3 PPT,
Slide 3). I agree with the statement that everyone s personal culture is unique to them because
everyone comes from a different culture, and they are always bound to do something unique that is
different to others. Ever since I can remember, my family and I have always celebrated the common
holidays that occur throughout the year such as; New Year s Day, Easter, Mother s Day, Memorial
Day, Father s Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. My family and I
have a strong bond, and when holidays come up we always get together and spend time to celebrate
the holiday. This is how I grew up, and we never done anything different, and being raised with that in

Get Into The Entrepreneur Mindset Let s face it! 99% of us are not the children of business tycoons.
Only 1% of the population inherits a fortune. The rest of us have to create our destiny. Why does only
a tiny fraction of this 99% become self made millionaires, while the majority of the population
continues to be middle class or poor? If you think that the only way the middle class can become rich
is by hitting the lottery, then you are mistaken!
One third of lottery winners ends up in a serious financial crisis or file for bankruptcy within five

Excuse #1: It s too risky to quit my job
This would have been a valid excuse 10 years back before we all witnessed the recession in 2008, but
not anymore. We all saw how millions of people lost their jobs and became unemployed overnight.
Job security is a myth. The biggest risk you can take in life is to hand over the steering wheel of your
life to your employer.
When you totally depend on your employer for your monthly salary, you are literally at the mercy of
the company. Even if you are one of the top performers in your company, there could be a lot of
external factors that can put your job at risk. The company s shares may go down in the stock market
due to some negative PR and they may have to downsize. The management policies of the company
may change due to their collaboration with a foreign partner. Or you may just end up fighting with
your boss over a trivial issue and get fired! Anything is possible.
On the other hand, if you are an entrepreneur, you take total control over your life.
You can set targets for your business and get the resources to achieve it. If you can see some great
opportunities coming up in your industry, you can take the action steps that can double or triple your
business. You need not wait for a pay raise! If you foresee some challenges in the market, you can
quickly take the necessary steps to diversify your portfolio and safeguard your

Sundiata Historical Accuracy
The story of Sundiata, well reproduced by the Guinean historian Niane, relates how this king managed
to found the second famous Western African empire, the empire of Mali, in the thirteenth century. This
tale is still very popular in Mali and other surrounding areas, and is especially used as a way to
exacerbate the national pride and identity. The epic of Sundiata helps people to integrate themselves in
an historical ensemble and to get a hold on their history. Historical accuracy might seem necessary for
such a thing to happen. At least, that is what our Western standards would expect to find in an
historical written tale, as if every written historical text was accurate in the first place. This debate fits

There is a strong importance of castes, like griots, who are somewhat still the keeper of traditions and
history and who used to serve the rulers as reminders of the past to help them take decisions and
orators who relayed the words of the king to the rest of the population, but who are mostly today
musicians. The smith caste is also really important in the tale, there were the first to master the work
of iron. In modern Mali, they are less important, but some old families, like the Keitas, Sundiata s own
family, managed to remain prominent in politics. The actual president of Mali is, for instance, Ibrahim
Boubacar KeĂŻta, comes from the same large Keita family, just like many former presidents. It is just a
further proof that family in the 13th century was just as important as it is today. Indeed, family still
determines one s social status, friendships, activities and to some extent, destiny and in the case of
Sundiata s tale, his destiny was clearly determined because of his father and mother s families. These
families, just like today, were mixed, since one man could have several wives in traditional beliefs and
according to Muslim laws. The gender roles were strict, women were supposed to raise children, cook,
manage the livestock, whereas men handled the structure of the house, relations with other families
and certain food (baobab leaves,

Octavia Butler s Speech Sounds
Speech Sounds is a short story written by Octavia Butler that follows the adventures of Rye in a
dystopian world where a mysterious pandemic severely limits humankind s ability to communicate.
Written in the time period of the late 1970 s/early 1980 s, Rye as a female in a dystopian story is
unusual and against the normal conventions for this genre of stories. So now Rye, a woman with the
ability to speak, becomes the dominant female character throughout the story. This breakthrough fight
against the norms allows Butler to take steps forward in feminist culture through the power of Rye s
character. Through Rye s actions and dialogue, it is seen that she does not stand for man??????? As a
genre, science fiction literature is based off of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gender stratification is the idea of how each gender is given different access to property, power,
prestige, and other privileges available in their society (Henslin 232). Butler opposes this ideal with
the implementation of a character with intelligence, bravery, determination, and ambition. When the
male passengers on the bus think Rye is having sex with Obsidian for the ride, they all believed that
she should also give themselves and the rest of the men on the bus sex too. This reaction shows that
men think they have a right over women. Women are objects, less important even. However, this
approach is undone by Rye throughout the whole story.]]]]] She is willing to use her gun to shoot the
man on the bus (Butler 249). Although women can be viewed as defenseless , Rye takes immediate
action when it comes to her own safety, even when she knows such action could be punished by
beatings, [or] even death (Butler 247). She fears for her safety again on page 253, where she shoots
the man who shot Obsidian. Instead of fleeing for her safety or attacking the man in some other way,
she takes matters into her own hands. Another instance where Rye defies gender stratification is when
she initiates sex with Obsidian (252). It is obvious that Rye had feelings for Obsidian and took
advantage of having developed a relationship with someone for the first time in years. Instead of
waiting for Obsidian to start something, she took it upon herself to do it because she didn t want to
lose those feelings of love and safety that she forgot all about. It distracted her from the hell she was
living in and she wanted to preserve it as best she could. The likely passiveness of how women are in
this setting is obviously lost on her. Rye does not care about everyone s expectations of her, or the
amount of power and status she apparently has. She essentially dismantles all

How Failure Is Failure
Failure is an option Every successful entrepreneur must be have this traits which is failure is an option

Bee Ocean Acidification Research Paper
The map above shows a depiction of aragonite saturation, a form of calcium carbonate that many
marine species also rely on to build their protective shells. It is anticipated that a high volume of
species relying on carbonate ions to form outer layers and exoskeletons will be negatively affected by
the changing chemistry of seawater. Even a slight drop in pH levels will mean higher concentrations
of hydrogen ions will be available to bond with carbonate ions, forming more bicarbonate than
normal. Marine calcifying species are this put at a higher risk for predation. Ocean researchers and
marine biologists are hopeful that some marine species that calcify for survival will be able to adapt to
the changing pH levels in the oceans. Others are not so optimistic, and expect that an acidic oceanic

English Renaissance Literature
If a literature loving time traveler were to journey into the past to study English Renaissance literature
as compared to the former Anglo Saxon literature, they would find that changing beliefs and ideas in
society are reflected in the writing of the time. The historical context of the English Renaissance
impacts not only the subject matter of poems, but also the underlying themes in the text. It is
important to examine the differences and similarities between each era to understand the differences in
their literature.
Before the glories of the English Renaissance, there existed the turmoil of the Anglo Saxon period.
Before entering this era, a time traveler prepare herself with years of study at a modern university.

Petrarch, a man credited with introducing humanism, preached the idea that one can do secular work
with spiritual value. This was the spark that lit the bonfire of the Renaissance. It took a while for the
Renaissance to spread to the English people, but they were ready for it after all of the previous
religious turmoil brought on by the fickle Henry VII and his Catholic daughter Mary. The much
celebrated Queen Elizabeth ultimately ended up with the throne, and under her, the English
Renaissance blossomed. Great writers like Shakespeare came to the forefront of popular culture and
all was well (mostly). Subject matter of poetry and narratives shifted from man s relationship with
God to man s relationship with himself and his lovers. This reflects the more independent, curious,
and secular views of Renaissance scholars.
Beliefs and values were not the only things that evolved during the English Renaissance. Ever since
William the Conqueror took over in the olden days, elements of French had been weaseling their way
into the English language. This caused Old English to transition into Middle English, which is much
more understandable to modern time travelers. Overall, a time traveler objectively viewing the
historical context of literature would say that the English Renaissance was an improvement for
literature.
It appears that when the time traveler finally tired of living in the past, she made her way

Essay On Mother Tongue
Amy Tan was born to two immigrants from China. She fell in love with literature even though she was
always encouraged to find a career in the math or science field because of her lack in English. Tan
studied at the San Jose State University where she received both her bachelors and master s degree.
Many others and I can relate to what Tan has to go through with having a different Mother Tongue
than others. Tan uses the essay Mother Tongue to inform her audience about how we all use different
Englishes throughout the day. English is a difficult language to learn. People do not deserve to be
mistreated for not knowing perfect English.
Tan always has loved language. Language is such a powerful tool that we use every day. ...it can

degree of stenosis in extracranial and intracranial arteries, stroke severity, functional outcome 3
months post stroke, CVD and related stroke events, and LDL receptor types. The variables that the
researchers controlled for in these particular studies were the types of patients used, such as excluding

The two most common methods to gathering data utilized by the researchers in the various FH studies
either employed direct data collection, such as from medical records from their visits with physicians
or while they are inpatient in a hospital, or the researchers would change some aspect of the person s
life and then collect pertinent data over a set time period. The independent variables that these studies
focused on included hypertensive meds, antidiabetic meds, lipid lowering meds, statins, intestinal
cholesterol absorption inhibitors, prescription omega 3 fatty acids, and antiplatelet agents that the
patients were put on by their physicians, along with an isocaloric diet created specifically for that
particular study, the IV injected solution for the lipoprotein turnover studies, and the lard based diet.
The dependent variables that have been studied thus far include the degree of stenosis, stroke severity,

How Do Earnings Numbers Relate to Stock Returns? A Review of Classic Accounting Research with
Updated Evidence
D. Craig Nichols and James M. Wahlen
SYNOPSIS: An extensive body of academic research in accounting develops theory and empirical
evidence on the relation between earnings information and stock returns. This literature provides
important insights for understanding the relevance of financial reporting. In this article, we summarize
the theory and evidence on how accounting earnings information relates to firms’ stock returns,
particularly for the benefit of students, practitioners, and others who may not yet have been exposed to
this literature. In addition, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We use the updated empirical analysis to assess the extent to which the findings in three seminal
papers still hold, and provide some additional results that do not appear in the original work. This
paper can serve as a resource for those interested in a deeper appreciation for the capital market
consequences associated with accounting earnings. We organize this review using the three theoretical
links between earnings and share prices developed by Beaver (1998). These “three links” are: 1)
current period earnings provides information to predict future periods’ earnings, which 2) provide
information to develop expectations about dividends in future periods, which 3) provide information
to determine share value, which represents the present value of expected future dividends. We describe
how this theoretical structure provides a practical framework for analyzing and understanding the
valuation implications of earnings information in the capital market. We then provide empirical
evidence on the relation between earnings and stock returns by extending three classic studies using
data from 1988 through 2002. Our first set of empirical results provides evidence on links 1–3 by

The Connection Theories And Why I Am My Friend s Dad
It was a Friday night with a clear dark sky and birds tweeting all around. I was sitting outside on the
balcony scrolling through my twitter timeline when I landed on a twitter thread. A twitter thread is a
set of tweets that a person tweets consecutively to inform, satirize, persuade or amuse the reader.
These threads tend to be about anything and everything and they ve become my favorite part of going
on the app itself. Some examples I ve seen before range from How I slept with my best friend s dad to
How I achieved a 4.0 . The one I landed upon that night was about conspiracy theories and seeing as
the thread was long, I went back inside, got comfy and began reading. The thread started with the
Mandela effect which seemed pretty intense then it went on to the famous 9/11 theory. The one that
caught my eye was Denver International Airport theory. This had me shook that the airport 20 minutes
away from me is considered hell. It s actually so creepy a chill runs down my spine writing about it.
When I first read the theory, I googled it and learned the basics.
So the day of the assignment it was the first thing that came to mind, and it made it much easier that I
can actually drive to the airport and uncover it myself. I hope you re ready but here it goes. The

in her article the words of Jacob Morgan, a co founder of the Future of Work Community, Job security

negatively affects job satisfaction. Some studies suggest that living with job insecurity the fear of
losing your job can be more harmful to your health than actually losing it (n.d.) Therefore,

Television and Crude Language
Why is crude language used in television? Some people think that the crude language used in
television serves no purpose and shows that a program was made by a bunch of idiots, intellectually,
who cannot think of anything intelligent to say. On the other side of the spectrum, people could argue
that vulgar language in movies or television serves as a way to make fun or to interpret stupidity in our
society. In the comedic movie South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, the main characters, Stan, Kyle,
Cartman, and Kenny sneak into an R rated animated musical called Terrance and Phillip Asses of Fire
, which uses a high volume of crude language. This movie was so terrible that everybody in the movie
theatre left, while the only people that stayed through the whole film were Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and
Kenny. After the movie, the boys were using all the crude language that they had learned from the
movie Terrance and Phillip. The creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, use crude
language throughout their episodes to represent the social issues in America. The creators use the
crude language to cause attention, to practice their freedom of speech in America, and to rebel against
censorship in television which contributes to the success of this program. South Park discusses issues
prevalent in today s society and encourages people to practice their freedom of speech, which is why
this program should be watched by more people. South Park is a very successful television

Rebellion In Dante s Inferno And Henry II
Rebellion has always been a part of the human experience, the past is full of rebellions, and currently
there are numerous books about rebellions and rebels, also, you can turn to any news station and hear
about a rebellion that is happening somewhere in the world. But something that is not as often thought
about is what are the repercussions of those rebellions? Additionally, why exactly did those
individuals rebel? Within the Inferno as well as the chronicle of letters between Thomas Becket and
Henry II it becomes very clear that there are two causes that inspire individuals to rebel against their
authority figures; they rebel because they will do anything in order to gain things in the present, or,
because they believe it is the only way to do the right thing. Within Dante s Inferno, there are
numerous acts of rebellion described. In fact, according ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

trouble with the decisions those in authority made. In the same way as Thomas Becket, those in
Ferguson are rebelling against something they believe in their hearts to be wrong, and unjust. By
contrast, consider also the terrorist group ISIS, similarly, like the sinners in Inferno, the members of

Middle-Range Theory
Theory Scope Categorizing the Theory Scope, the first step of theory analysis, involves describing the
abstractness of their theory concepts and propositions. While the scope of the grand theory is
nonspecific, the scope of the middle range theory is more specific and limited. A middle range theory,
additionally, can be classified in terms of descriptive, explanatory, or predictive. Leventhal et al. did
not identify the type of their theory. However, the words and sentences that they mentioned in the
CSM can categorize as a middle range theory. The CSM was proposed to provide the framework for
depicting the self regulation when individuals have to encounter stress caused by an illness and
understanding the processes involved in problem coping. Leventhal et al. described that the CSM
consists of three core concepts: representation of illness, coping, and coping appraisal. The
relationship between the concepts was presented in the parallel processing system that interact as the
individual adapts to each specific situation. These processes lead individuals to seek health care for
acute illnesses and manage their illness for chronic conditions. Additionally, the CSM was used as a
theoretical framework in research and applied in practice, particularly psychological, behavioral, and
nursing fields. The results of study can make possible intervention which would help patients develop
valid coping processes. Consequently, The CSM can be classified as a middle range predictive theory.

How Does Dickens Present The Portrayal Of Victorian Women
In a male dominated world, does the role of women even matter? In the Victorian era, women were
expected to be innocent, loving, and interested in their husbands business or other affiliations. In
Charles Dickens Hard Times, he portrays the Victorian society s realistic and unrealistic views of an
ideal Victorian woman in a maledominated world. Through the portrayal of his female characters,
Dickens shows the lack of morality people had during this time period, as well as emphasizing how an
ideal Victorian woman should act. Dickens example of an idealistic Victorian woman is Sissy Jupe,
while her contrast is Mrs. Sparsit. Louisa s character however, shows the change from a nonidealistic
to an idealistic Victorian woman. The several female characters compare and contrast with each other
throughout the novel and provide evidence of which type of woman they are, as well as how they are
ultimately rewarded or punished. Sissy Jupe exemplifies the ideal Victorian woman in a
maledominated Coketown. Throughout the novel, Sissy remains a compassionate, realistic, and
nurturing young woman. As a child, Sissy does not succumb to the system of facts introduced to her
by Mr. Gradgrind. She struggles with concepts such as arithmetic or living objectively. She shares her
failures at school with Louisa who comforts her with, You are more useful to my mother, and more
pleasant with yourself than I am to myself (Dickens 55). This comment expresses how Sissy is

reputation and customer loyalty can overcome the weaknesses that are minor in comparison and could

The Killings And Racial Repressions Of Adolf Hitler And...
The mass killings and racial repression brought on by the Nazi regime is abhorrent. The Nazi regime
singled out the Jewish community to reconcile the belief that Germany had been betrayed in World
War I. Once the Jewish community had been made the victim, the system of overlapping agencies
pushed institutions to the extreme as they competed for Hitler s attention. The effect of competing to
earn consideration created systemic brutality towards the Jewish people in Germany. From the
creation of concentration camps and into the concentration camps created a gray zone within where
prisoners competed for special treatment by displaying their harshness towards their own compatriots.
The Nazi system of racial repression and mass murder of the Jewish population in Germany originated
in Adolf Hitler s personal shortcomings as a failed artist and as a scapegoat for Germany s defeat in
World War. The system was operated by sycophants acting obsequiously to Hitler in hopes of raising
their standing with Hitler to further their career. The origins of Hitler s anti Semitism are widely
debated by historians. Common theories include: a self loathing for Hitler s own partial Jewish
identity, reaction from hysterical trauma suffered from mustard gas in World War I, sexual fantasies,
and a persecution complex. According to Ian Kershaw these theories offer ...differing degrees of
plausibility but ultimately amount to no more than guesswork. Kershaw argues that the only thing that
can be presumed about the foundations of Hitler s hatred is his low self esteem, his frustrations of
being a drop out, failed artist, and being an outsider of society. On top of this, Hitler was reading pan
German anti Semitic newspapers and admired deeply the Austrian anti Semite and pan German Leader
Georg von Schonerer and anti Semitic demagogue Karl Lueger, mayor of Vienna. All of this coupled
with Germany s defeat in World War I led Hitler to find a justification for the world, as he saw it,
falling apart. So, he turned to demonizing the Jewish community while working for the educational
unit in the German army. In this unit, Hitler found his talent for demagoguery. Hitler made a concerted

example of a monocot. The seed of a monocot stays in one piece and does not split up. As the bean
seed, the corn seed also has a seed coat, but this coat doesn t get off as easily. There is as well a part of
the seed called the endosperm and this is the part where the monocot plants store their food. The
Greek word for one is monos , and that s where we get mono from.
Of course seeds consist of several components, but the three main and most significant parts are the
seed coat, the endosperm and the embryo.
The outer membrane of the seed is known as the seed coat and that is the part of the seed that is
visible. The coat of the seed is often hard and very difficult to break. The outer membrane s function is
to protect the sensitive parts that are inside the seed from diseases and common damages. Even though
all seeds have a seed coat, there is

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Premenstrual Syndrome
Chiagozie Harry Okeke Psych 236 02: Psychology of Women Prof. Edna Pressler, Ph.D. Report 2
October 23, 2016 Get Involved 7.1 (Menstrual symptoms) Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), are
symptoms that comes with severe pains, one to two weeks before one s period starts. In addition, most
women have at least some symptoms of PMS, and the symptoms go away after their period s starts.
For some women, the symptoms seem to be very severe enough to affect their lives, and this is
referred as PMS is called premenstrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD. Therefore, I will focus on the
meaning of menstruation, cycle, symptoms, methods, treatments and also to address these questions
from the text; (1) Did individuals who completed the menstrual joy part first report less menstrual
distress than those who completed the menstrual distress part? If so, why? (2) Why do you think some
women have more positive feelings than others before and during their menstrual periods? (3) Why
have the negative aspects of menstruation been emphasized much more than the positive periods? (4)
What might be done to focus more on the positive side of menstruation? ( Etaugh Bridges, 2013,
Pg.147 ). Menstruation according to ( Etaugh Bridges, 2013, Pg.144 ) involves the release of mature
egg or ovum from its surroundings capsule or follicle. However, this cycle comes in four phases,
which is an average of 28days in

Essay on Blending Good and Evil in the Master and Margarita
In Bulgakov s The Master and Margarita, Woland has created some kind of partnership with Yeshua
Ha Nozri. He explains to Matthu Levi, a mere mortal, that he is misunderstood by fools. Woland is
simply an alternate interpretation of the Devil. During his short conversation with Matthu Levi he asks
him what good deeds are they able to do if there is no evil to right. You spoke the words as though you
did not recognize the existence of either shadows or evil. But would you be kind enough to give some
thought to this: what would your good be doing if there were no evil, and what would the earth look
like if shadows disappeared from it? Even after Woland has burned down a fair portion of Moscow as
well as created commotion among the lives of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He delivers the message that Yeshua wants the master to be granted peace. Yeshua does not possess
the power to do this task himself and asks that Woland do it. Woland can obviously do it easily. The
Master is given peace, not light in the end because he has acquiesced to the pressure on him from
society. The master s one flaw is that he is a coward, like Pontius Pilate. Because of this one fact he is
given peace, not light. Yeshua did not blame anyone for his death, furthermore he did not seize the
opportunity to be free when he was offered it. Pontius Pilate has eternally tormented himself for being
a coward and not doing anything to save Yeshua. Yeshua s intentions are rather clear when he gets
Woland to bring the Master to free Pilate. Woland s ultimate business in Moscow was to locate the
Master and get the novel from him. Although he has caused a great deal of trouble for characters such
as Varenuhka, Styopa, Ivan, and Rimsky, he has ultimately served his purpose as the justice bringer to
the flawed as well as allowing Yeshua to right his wrongs. During the aftermath of Satan s Ball, he
allows the various characters to return to their original roles. However, it is not without consequence.
For example he only lets Varenuhka return if he promises never to be rude over the phone again.
Woland has punished evil doers. It is in this very apartment where Woland refers to the tasks of other
departments . Every department must take care

Sharpen The Saw Analysis
Sharpen the saw . I know for me I forget a lot of the time that in order to be successful I should take
care of myself first. Remembering to take care of myself has never been a leadership habit I have been
good at. My previous supervisor who was also a good friend of mine was good at trying to remind me
to do things for me.
It is apparent that not only should it be to take care of myself physically and emotionally, but also to
keep up with the times. A lot of the time she would make sure to send me on housing conferences, and
leadership conferences because there is always something new to learn in an ever changing world. The
idea is to keep up with those changes, especially since every year was a different generation of
residents coming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am still working with the college volleyball program, and I have started working with the local club
volleyball as I always do every season. Things now are a little chaotic, and less organized, but I am
starting to have to make myself understand what is most important and what is not. It has become a lot
easier lately because I know working with the college volleyball program it is more for experience,
and not so much a job especially since it is a volunteer basis, and not a paid position. This takes a lot
of stress off each day because it is not a true responsibility unless I want it to be.
The third and final weakness is Begin with the end in mind . The ability to envision in your mind what
you cannot at present see with your eyes. It is based on the principle that all things are created twice .
(Covey 1989) I am person who tends to do things in the moment. I forget a lot of the time what the
end product is supposed to be. I know what I must do to get to the end product, but during the process
I have a habit of looking at what needs to be done in order to move on to whatever is next. This habit
can sometimes be detrimental to the success of the project I am working

Theme Of Manipulation In Wuthering Heights
In Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, Heathcliff s strong love for Catherine guides his
transformation as a character. While Heathcliff enters the story as an innocent child, the abuse he
receives at a young age and his heartbreak at Catherine s choice to marry Edgar Linton bring about a
change within him. Heathcliff s adulthood is consequently marked by jealousy and greed due to his
separation from Catherine, along with manipulation and a deep desire to seek revenge on Edgar.
Although Heathcliff uses deceit and manipulation to his advantage throughout the novel, he is never
entirely content in his current situation. As Heathcliff attempts to revenge Edgar Linton, he does not
gain true fulfillment. Throughout Wuthering Heights, Brontë uses Heathcliff s vengeful actions to
convey the message that manipulative and revenge seeking behaviors will not bring a person
satisfaction. To begin, Heathcliff uses Isabella as a means of exacting revenge on Edgar Linton, whom
he despises. When Heathcliff finds out Isabella is in love with him, he is delighted. His pleasure
comes not from a mutual like for Isabella, but rather a vision for revenging Edgar. After Catherine lets
slip that Isabella is in love with him, Heathcliff says to her, ...and if you fancy I ll suffer unrevenged, I
ll convince you of the contrary, in a very little while! Meantime, thank you for telling me your sister in
law s secret: I swear I ll make the most of it. And stand you aside! (112). Heathcliff s comment

Witches In Macbeth Essay
Hi, I m Maddy Foster and this is another episode of Which Witch is Which? Today we re going to talk
about the witches, also known as the weĂŻrd sisters, in Macbeth.
Macbeth is Shakespeare s shortest play, but arguably his darkest and most powerful creation. King
James I commissioned Shakespeare to write this play for his amusement sometime around 1606. It
deals with an array of themes including revenge, guilt, violence, insanity and also the supernatural.
Shakespeare based Macbeth mainly on an Elizabethan report of Scotland s history called Holinshed s
Chronicles , written by popular a historian at the time pictured here, but also referred to a few other
sources. Macbeth features an interesting hybrid cast between the natural and supernatural. ... Show

In fact, the witches bear a striking and obviously intentional resemblance to the fates, female
characters who weave the fabric of human lives and then cut the threads to end them. They speak in
almost chant like rhyme with paradox and equivocation, Fair is foul and foul is fair (Act 1, Scene 1,
Lines 11 12) and Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble (Act 4, Scene 1,
Lines 10 11).
At the time Macbeth was written, necromancy was feared and witches had developed into a serious
and ever present social concern. Bear in mind that those accused of witchcraft 90% of the time were
just old, poor, unprotected, single or pet owning women. Nonetheless, witches were perceived as evil,
sub human servants of the devil. Shakespeare therefore introduced the witches knowing that they
would grip an audience, as anything to do with witchcraft would create fear. In fact, Macbeth is the
17th century s equivalent to a modern day horror

  • 2. The Importance Of Plagiarism In College Students In short: Don t do it. But in truth, that is not good enough. I have assigned and graded or had graded by TA s tens of thousands of bits of writing by college students over the years. A lot of my friends are teachers. My wife is a teacher. I ve seen it all. If you are a student trying to avoid getting caught plagiarizing, I can help you. You need to know the following three things. These facts will save you from getting tossed out of college or having a mark on your high school record. 1) Teachers hate plagiarism more than they hate stepping on puppies and kittens. If there are two students in a class, and one has plagiarized an assignment and one has crushed some puppies and kittens, and the teacher only has time to turn one of them it to the administration, they ll turn in the plagiarizer. 2) There has almost never been a case where a student was proved to have plagiarized something (by matching the original to the student s paper) where the plagiarism wasn t already blindingly obvious to the teacher to begin with. In other words, when you plagiarize something, it is always spotted immediately. If some other student tells you that they got away with it, they are lying to you (like House says, people always lie) or the teacher chose to not turn them in. Yet. Given this, you should understand that plagiarism is never a good strategy for improving your grade. Just don t do it. ________________________________ Check out our new science podcast, Ikonokast. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The three types of sessions were Person Centered Therapy represented by Carl Rogers, Rational Therapy also known as Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy represented by Albert Ellis, and Gestalt Therapy represented by Fritz Perls. The sessions were given to the same women named Gloria that presented a different problem each time. The goal of experiencing each type of therapy session was to figure out what therapy style out of the three best helped Gloria. The first therapy style Gloria was introduced to was Person Centered Therapy and the therapist was Carl Rogers. Viewing Rogers at my own viewpoint, for the time period, he seems unbelievable. ... The connection between the two seemed to start off quick because Gloria was actually a fan of his book but really seemed to firm was when Ellis brought up the mangled arm it really seemed like they were on the same level. I believe that this session overall helped Gloria thinking more and caused her to take more actions especially because of the homework assignment that Ellis said he would give her if she was his client. What really shown me that the session was beneficial for Gloria was when Ellis said assume the worse . When Ellis said this, Gloria pulled out a cigarette which to me says that his words are getting to her and making her think because I have noticed that she seems to smoke when she feels nervous or pressured and needs to calm down. Zainab Hanif Warind Ms. Maria Kamal Media Psychology (Elective) 27 April 2016 The Portrayal of Relationships Through Media Effects of TV Serials on Pakistani Audiences Television is the new babysitter for children as young as a few months old. Being the powerful tool media is, and children being highly impressionable, it is in fact inevitable that they would learn / imitate behavior they see on screen. Thus it is very important to monitor what they watch. But the process never stops. Young adults, and then on to adults, everyone is watching television and learning social phenomena, figuring out what s acceptable and not acceptable amongst the society they live in. It s safe to say in Pakistan, there is a lot of foreign media influence, but the prevalence of TV serials is anything but scarce. In fact, watching TV is a primary source of entertainment for a large part of the population, and where there is heavy viewing; there are greater effects (Anderson et al. 1024 1033). The audience primarily consists of housewives, passing their time through the day watching these TV serials, and even young boys and girls. The question is that what are these serials portraying and how are they affecting their real life relationships? Are they being taught something that they shouldn t be? The aspect of a visual medium has been around for decades, so it s safe to say, every aspect of social relationships have been explored, in the home and outside; even the most unlikely or unnatural. ... This critical review will first provide a summary of the arguments put forth by the author, and then provide a critical analysis of the same in context of the article s persuasiveness. B. CRITICAL ANALYSIS The article provides a comprehensive argument about how Maliki has turned Iraq into competitive authoritarianism . This claim has been supported through a multiplicity of instances. The author clarifies why he calls Iraq a competitive authoritarianism instead of terming it as complete authoritarianism, by explaining how the latter involves removing the opportunities for opposition completely, while the former shapes the field of competition to its own advantage(244). Such an explanation, along with the use of various instances to support the claim, makes his main argument very persuasive. While he provides enough evidences to support his main claim, the author does not give sufficient evidence to support his idea of the aims with which the Bush administration decided to invade Iraq(243), thus raising doubts about the sections talking of the US s intentions in Iraq and hence, the reasons why Iraq s reconstruction was carried out in such haste. D. CONCLUSION The author s main claim of Iraq being a competitive authoritarian regime is justified with ample evidence. The author also talks about the reasons which led to the transformation of Iraq into competitive authoritarianism. However, the author does not provide a very persuasive argument for his sub claim about the intent with which the US invaded ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Analysis Of The Book Reena Patel Essay The author of the book, Reena Patel is a feminist scholar and the theme of her book is specifically on the mobility and inequality faced by women in the society due to their timings of employment at the Call Center Industry. The study is the first in depth research on the transnational call center industry which has been written from the women worker s point of view. Reena Patel conducted an Ethnographic study in the cities of Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The new challenges faced by them with regard to the night shift employment alongside the opportunities to work in an upscale globalised work environment, and the attraction towards a relatively high wage is a source of fast access to money. The Call center Industry with its globalised work environment and high wages has attracted many women in liberating their lives. The main theme of the book around which the rich narratives are woven for women is the Spatial temporal conversion regarding their flexibility in the urban setup in India. The repercussions experienced by women of exploring the night as a time and space of the night time, belonging to men according to the traditional Indian society idea. There are patriarchal notions attached to the idea of women getting out of the households at night to work in a public space and is vulnerable to the rising violence in our country against women. • 12. The Household Circle Of India 1.The household circle in France and that of India display numerous similarities. However, it may be that such is the case in most countries where families are kept together. In India, distant relatives like grandparents and cousins either settle collectively or maintain a near distance if living separately. Indians are not as likely as Americans to relocate away from their families and, when it is economically possible, prefer to stay in the same geographic area. Though it seems that the French differentiate from that of my own culture due to that fact that they maintain relations with those of the enlarged household till the third or fourth generation. Also, on page 60 Au Contraire mentions that the extended kinsfolk gather together for a Sunday lunch. This is generally not seen in India as members of the lengthened household may reside adjacent to each other, but do not meet as often as the French. Nonetheless, as an Indian American, my society maintains most of the aspects of the Indian community and a little of the typical American culture. The French concept of the state of a young adult is similar to my cultural structure due to the fact that the youth gravitate to stay nearby parents until marriage in order to remain under their watchful eye and to refrain from an involvement of morally disliked activities. Similarly, as mentioned on page 60 of the book Au Contraire, in France, children attend universities in close proximity to their homes and lean to disapprove of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This tale is still very popular in Mali and other surrounding areas, and is especially used as a way to exacerbate the national pride and identity. The epic of Sundiata helps people to integrate themselves in an historical ensemble and to get a hold on their history. Historical accuracy might seem necessary for such a thing to happen. The smith caste is also really important in the tale, there were the first to master the work of iron. In modern Mali, they are less important, but some old families, like the Keitas, Sundiata s own family, managed to remain prominent in politics. The actual president of Mali is, for instance, Ibrahim Boubacar KeĂŻta, comes from the same large Keita family, just like many former presidents. Octavia Butler s Speech Sounds Speech Sounds is a short story written by Octavia Butler that follows the adventures of Rye in a dystopian world where a mysterious pandemic severely limits humankind s ability to communicate. Written in the time period of the late 1970 s/early 1980 s, Rye as a female in a dystopian story is unusual and against the normal conventions for this genre of stories. So now Rye, a woman with the ability to speak, becomes the dominant female character throughout the story. Gender stratification is the idea of how each gender is given different access to property, power, prestige, and other privileges available in their society (Henslin 232). Butler opposes this ideal with the implementation of a character with intelligence, bravery, determination, and ambition. When the male passengers on the bus think Rye is having sex with Obsidian for the ride, they all believed that she should also give themselves and the rest of the men on the bus sex too. This reaction shows that men think they have a right over women. Women are objects, less important even. However, this approach is undone by Rye throughout the whole story.]]]]] She is willing to use her gun to shoot the man on the bus (Butler 249). Although women can be viewed as defenseless , Rye takes immediate action when it comes to her own safety, even when she knows such action could be punished by beatings, [or] even death (Butler 247). She fears for her safety again on page 253, where she shoots the man who shot Obsidian. Instead of fleeing for her safety or attacking the man in some other way, she takes matters into her own hands. Another instance where Rye defies gender stratification is when she initiates sex with Obsidian (252). It is obvious that Rye had feelings for Obsidian and took advantage of having developed a relationship with someone for the first time in years. Instead of waiting for Obsidian to start something, she took it upon herself to do it because she didn t want to lose those feelings of love and safety that she forgot all about. It distracted her from the hell she was living in and she wanted to preserve it as best she could. The likely passiveness of how women are in this setting is obviously lost on her. • 21. Bee Ocean Acidification Research Paper The map above shows a depiction of aragonite saturation, a form of calcium carbonate that many marine species also rely on to build their protective shells. It is anticipated that a high volume of species relying on carbonate ions to form outer layers and exoskeletons will be negatively affected by the changing chemistry of seawater. Even a slight drop in pH levels will mean higher concentrations of hydrogen ions will be available to bond with carbonate ions, forming more bicarbonate than normal. Marine calcifying species are this put at a higher risk for predation. Ocean researchers and marine biologists are hopeful that some marine species that calcify for survival will be able to adapt to the changing pH levels in the oceans. Others are not so optimistic, and expect that an acidic oceanic environment may result in mass extinction and serious disruptions to aquatic food chains. The much celebrated Queen Elizabeth ultimately ended up with the throne, and under her, the English Renaissance blossomed. Great writers like Shakespeare came to the forefront of popular culture and all was well (mostly). Subject matter of poetry and narratives shifted from man s relationship with God to man s relationship with himself and his lovers. This reflects the more independent, curious, and secular views of Renaissance scholars. Beliefs and values were not the only things that evolved during the English Renaissance. Ever since William the Conqueror took over in the olden days, elements of French had been weaseling their way into the English language. This caused Old English to transition into Middle English, which is much more understandable to modern time travelers. • 30. Television and Crude Language Why is crude language used in television? Some people think that the crude language used in television serves no purpose and shows that a program was made by a bunch of idiots, intellectually, who cannot think of anything intelligent to say. On the other side of the spectrum, people could argue that vulgar language in movies or television serves as a way to make fun or to interpret stupidity in our society. In the comedic movie South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, the main characters, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny sneak into an R rated animated musical called Terrance and Phillip Asses of Fire , which uses a high volume of crude language. This movie was so terrible that everybody in the movie theatre left, while the only people that stayed through the whole film were Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. After the movie, the boys were using all the crude language that they had learned from the movie Terrance and Phillip. The creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, use crude language throughout their episodes to represent the social issues in America. The creators use the crude language to cause attention, to practice their freedom of speech in America, and to rebel against censorship in television which contributes to the success of this program. While the scope of the grand theory is nonspecific, the scope of the middle range theory is more specific and limited. A middle range theory, additionally, can be classified in terms of descriptive, explanatory, or predictive. Leventhal et al. did not identify the type of their theory. However, the words and sentences that they mentioned in the CSM can categorize as a middle range theory. The CSM was proposed to provide the framework for depicting the self regulation when individuals have to encounter stress caused by an illness and understanding the processes involved in problem coping. Leventhal et al. described that the CSM consists of three core concepts: representation of illness, coping, and coping appraisal. The relationship between the concepts was presented in the parallel processing system that interact as the individual adapts to each specific situation. These processes lead individuals to seek health care for acute illnesses and manage their illness for chronic conditions. Additionally, the CSM was used as a theoretical framework in research and applied in practice, particularly psychological, behavioral, and nursing fields. In the Victorian era, women were expected to be innocent, loving, and interested in their husbands business or other affiliations. In Charles Dickens Hard Times, he portrays the Victorian society s realistic and unrealistic views of an ideal Victorian woman in a maledominated world. Through the portrayal of his female characters, Dickens shows the lack of morality people had during this time period, as well as emphasizing how an ideal Victorian woman should act. Dickens example of an idealistic Victorian woman is Sissy Jupe, while her contrast is Mrs. Sparsit. Louisa s character however, shows the change from a nonidealistic to an idealistic Victorian woman. The several female characters compare and contrast with each other throughout the novel and provide evidence of which type of woman they are, as well as how they are ultimately rewarded or punished. Sissy Jupe exemplifies the ideal Victorian woman in a maledominated Coketown. Throughout the novel, Sissy remains a compassionate, realistic, and nurturing young woman. As a child, Sissy does not succumb to the system of facts introduced to her by Mr. Gradgrind. She struggles with concepts such as arithmetic or living objectively. The Nazi regime singled out the Jewish community to reconcile the belief that Germany had been betrayed in World War I. The effect of competing to earn consideration created systemic brutality towards the Jewish people in Germany. From the creation of concentration camps and into the concentration camps created a gray zone within where prisoners competed for special treatment by displaying their harshness towards their own compatriots. The Nazi system of racial repression and mass murder of the Jewish population in Germany originated in Adolf Hitler s personal shortcomings as a failed artist and as a scapegoat for Germany s defeat in World War. The system was operated by sycophants acting obsequiously to Hitler in hopes of raising their standing with Hitler to further their career. The origins of Hitler s anti Semitism are widely debated by historians. Common theories include: a self loathing for Hitler s own partial Jewish identity, reaction from hysterical trauma suffered from mustard gas in World War I, sexual fantasies, and a persecution complex. Dicot seed contains of two parts which have been named cotyledons. Their job is to supply the food for the growing of the young plant. An excellent example of a dicot seed is the bean seed. Dicot seeds consist of an outside cover, called seed coat, and also an embryo inside the bean. The Greek word for two is dis , and that is where we get di from. Seed which consists of only a single cotyledon are known as monocots. A corn seed is a very good example of a monocot. The seed of a monocot stays in one piece and does not split up. As the bean seed, the corn seed also has a seed coat, but this coat doesn t get off as easily. There is as well a part of the seed called the endosperm and this is the part where the monocot plants store their food. The Greek word for one is monos , and that s where we get mono from. Of course seeds consist of several components, but the three main and most significant parts are the seed coat, the endosperm and the embryo. The outer membrane of the seed is known as the seed coat and that is the part of the seed that is visible. The coat of the seed is often hard and very difficult to break. The outer membrane s function is to protect the sensitive parts that are inside the seed from diseases and common damages. Even though all seeds have a seed coat, there is ... • 42. Essay on Blending Good and Evil in the Master and Margarita In Bulgakov s The Master and Margarita, Woland has created some kind of partnership with Yeshua Ha Nozri. He explains to Matthu Levi, a mere mortal, that he is misunderstood by fools. Woland is simply an alternate interpretation of the Devil. During his short conversation with Matthu Levi he asks him what good deeds are they able to do if there is no evil to right. You spoke the words as though you did not recognize the existence of either shadows or evil. But would you be kind enough to give some thought to this: what would your good be doing if there were no evil, and what would the earth look like if shadows disappeared from it? Even after Woland has burned down a fair portion of Moscow as well as created commotion among the lives of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He delivers the message that Yeshua wants the master to be granted peace. Yeshua does not possess the power to do this task himself and asks that Woland do it. Woland can obviously do it easily. The Master is given peace, not light in the end because he has acquiesced to the pressure on him from society. The master s one flaw is that he is a coward, like Pontius Pilate. Because of this one fact he is given peace, not light. Yeshua did not blame anyone for his death, furthermore he did not seize the opportunity to be free when he was offered it. Pontius Pilate has eternally tormented himself for being a coward and not doing anything to save Yeshua. Yeshua s intentions are rather clear when he gets Woland to bring the Master to free Pilate. Woland s ultimate business in Moscow was to locate the Master and get the novel from him. Although he has caused a great deal of trouble for characters such as Varenuhka, Styopa, Ivan, and Rimsky, he has ultimately served his purpose as the justice bringer to the flawed as well as allowing Yeshua to right his wrongs. During the aftermath of Satan s Ball, he allows the various characters to return to their original roles. However, it is not without consequence. For example he only lets Varenuhka return if he promises never to be rude over the phone again. Woland has punished evil doers. It is in this very apartment where Woland refers to the tasks of other departments . Every department must take care ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Remembering to take care of myself has never been a leadership habit I have been good at. My previous supervisor who was also a good friend of mine was good at trying to remind me to do things for me. It is apparent that not only should it be to take care of myself physically and emotionally, but also to keep up with the times. A lot of the time she would make sure to send me on housing conferences, and leadership conferences because there is always something new to learn in an ever changing world. The idea is to keep up with those changes, especially since every year was a different generation of residents coming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am still working with the college volleyball program, and I have started working with the local club volleyball as I always do every season. Things now are a little chaotic, and less organized, but I am starting to have to make myself understand what is most important and what is not. It has become a lot easier lately because I know working with the college volleyball program it is more for experience, and not so much a job especially since it is a volunteer basis, and not a paid position. This takes a lot of stress off each day because it is not a true responsibility unless I want it to be. The third and final weakness is Begin with the end in mind . • 44. Theme Of Manipulation In Wuthering Heights In Wuthering Heights by Emily BrontĂ«, Heathcliff s strong love for Catherine guides his transformation as a character. While Heathcliff enters the story as an innocent child, the abuse he receives at a young age and his heartbreak at Catherine s choice to marry Edgar Linton bring about a change within him. Heathcliff s adulthood is consequently marked by jealousy and greed due to his separation from Catherine, along with manipulation and a deep desire to seek revenge on Edgar. Although Heathcliff uses deceit and manipulation to his advantage throughout the novel, he is never entirely content in his current situation. As Heathcliff attempts to revenge Edgar Linton, he does not gain true fulfillment. Throughout Wuthering Heights, BrontĂ« uses Heathcliff s vengeful actions to convey the message that manipulative and revenge seeking behaviors will not bring a person satisfaction. To begin, Heathcliff uses Isabella as a means of exacting revenge on Edgar Linton, whom he despises. When Heathcliff finds out Isabella is in love with him, he is delighted. His pleasure comes not from a mutual like for Isabella, but rather a vision for revenging Edgar. After Catherine lets slip that Isabella is in love with him, Heathcliff says to her, ...and if you fancy I ll suffer unrevenged, I ll convince you of the contrary, in a very little while! Meantime, thank you for telling me your sister in law s secret: I swear I ll make the most of it. And stand you aside! (112). Heathcliff s comment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Macbeth is Shakespeare s shortest play, but arguably his darkest and most powerful creation. King James I commissioned Shakespeare to write this play for his amusement sometime around 1606. In fact, the witches bear a striking and obviously intentional resemblance to the fates, female characters who weave the fabric of human lives and then cut the threads to end them. They speak in almost chant like rhyme with paradox and equivocation, Fair is foul and foul is fair (Act 1, Scene 1, Lines 11 12) and Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble (Act 4, Scene 1, Lines 10 11). At the time Macbeth was written, necromancy was feared and witches had developed into a serious and ever present social concern. Bear in mind that those accused of witchcraft 90% of the time were just old, poor, unprotected, single or pet owning women. Nonetheless, witches were perceived as evil, sub human servants of the devil. Shakespeare therefore introduced the witches knowing that they would grip an audience, as anything to do with witchcraft would create fear.
