The Results of Hostilities in Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare
Argumentative behavior and hostility can force people to take undesired actions and change their
morals. In Romeo and Juliet, many characters experience the rapid moral change in themselves after a
fight starts between the Montagues and the Capulets resulting in them only able to follow orders since
they sided with a family. Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet delves into the duality that conflict can be
damaging and altering in one s mind as a consequence of Sampson and the Montague guards, Romeo
and Juliet, and the Montagues and the Capulets. When honor is at stake, one might find themselves
trying to instigate another in order to get attention. Sampson in swayed by the rift between the
Montagues and the Capulets forcing him to take pride in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SAMPSON: (to ABRAM) Yes, better, sir ABRAM: You lie. SAMPSON: Draw, if you be men.
Gregory, remember thy washing blow. They fight (Shakespeare 4) Sampson decides to fight and is
notified by Gregory that a Capulet kinsman is approaching. Sampson uses this to his advantage so that
it will look that Abram started the fight. He felt that in order to truly serve his masters was to get the
other family in trouble with the law. This argument between the Capulets and the Montagues has been
going on for a long time and has taken a toll on many of their servants. Even though the argument is
between the families, Sampson feels the need to support the family and makes things worse. The
conflict itself changes Sampson s mind making a rivalry between Sampson and the Montagues even
though the Montagues haven t done anything to him. Arguments can provide reason for uninvolved
people to become involved. Quarrels can force people to break the rules and have unexpected
encounters. Romeo breaks the rules and enters the Capulet s feast where he meets Juliet. As Romeo
looked over and saw Juliet for the first time, he fell in love with her instantly and went talk to her.
Tybalt hears Romeo s voice and decides to capture him. (Shakespeare 53) Romeo broke the rules and
attended his enemy s party and fell in love with Juliet there. His family and himself and have always

Which brand of popcorn leaves the least amount of kernels?
Have you ever wondered how popcorn kernels get left behind? Research by food scientist Bruce
Hamaker from Perdue University suggests that it is lack of moisture. Moisture helps the corn kernel
pop. You should store your popcorn in a cupboard where it is dry, never put your un popped popcorn
in the refrigerator because that will cause it to lose moisture. I am figuring out which brand of popcorn

Point Of Use Of Language In My Last Duchess By Robert...
Blank Verse and Other Verse Forms : Browning was a great metrical artist. He experimented with
number of stanza forms and rhyme schemes. Browning has written My Last Duchess in heroic
couplets but the sense runs so naturally from the one line to the other that the reader hardly remains
conscious of the rhyme. The couplets take the reader along with the virtue of their speed. It is,
therefore, that from the point of view of language, My Last Duchess is on of the most lovable poems
of Browning. One feels like reading the following lines of the poem, over and over again : She had A

The Cousative Factors Of Football Hooliganism In Turkish...
Football hooliganism is a description of a football related violent behaviors and actions from
aggressive and fanatic football supporters. Football hooliganism is a widely spread and transitional
phenomena in many parts of Europe, latin America, and recently in north Africa. Hundreds of
incidents have happened, thousands of people have died, thousands of fans have injured, many
stadiums were ruined, and many squares were turned into battlefields just because of football
hooligans and violent gangs who exploit the game of football to achieve personal or common
interests. The causative factors of hooliganism are many. They are categorized from social and
economic problems to al cohol consumption and media. Despite the point that the history of ... Show

There are many roots, causes, and motives to the spread of hooliganism in those countries. In his
article about the plague of hooliganism in Turkish football, Altay (2015) declares: Turkey is home to
some of the world s most fanatical football supporters (para.1). fanaticism can be considered as one of
the possible reasons for hooliganism in Turkey. On the other hand, an article published in Reuters by
Davis (2014) indicated that Italy is famous for its ultras , groups of hardcore fans who are frequently
behind the stadium violence which has dogged all levels of the country s football since the 1970s

reputation of the Turkish and Italian football fans as a result of football hooliganism, which in fact has
several threats, causes, effects, and violence aspects to be considered in relation to the modern
football. That s why hooliganism is a very controversial topic and one of its debates centers on
whether hooliganism constitute the main problem in modern football or there are other major concerns
that dominate over it as the financial corruptions and the extensive money

The Environmental Technology Program At S.a.i.t
The program that I have chosen to study is the Environmental technology program at S.A.I.T and this
is important not because I want to shut down all the dirty energy companies that work in the oil and
gas or coal sector but because I want to make them better and more sustainable so that the resources
will last longer. More people should think this way because the world needs these companies to
survive and it would be economic suicide to shut just oil and gas down, look at what is happening
right now and it is only a downturn. But if new technology is created and new methods are put into
place, then what is now seen as the worst form of energy, environmentally it can be seen as something
that is more sustainable with less of an environmental impact. This is what my program focuses on,
how to reduce waste and how to treat the waste that is created, so when it is either released back into
the environment or there is a spill or leak that it will not be as harmful. The environmental technology
program will help get more women into the science field which will then advance them in the working
world. This program will draw women in because it can be seen less threatening than say a petroleum
technology program where it is mostly men. But we are taught how to do things in the lab, out in the
field, and behind a desk and in many different types businesses such as agriculture, water treatment,
oil and gas, pulp and paper, and many others. It provides many options for women to get

Essay On Tracey Moffatt And Shirin Neshat
This quote by Aristotle is shown to be true as art is known as a language in images, and is a way artist
can communicate ideas and express conceptions, about self, culture, community and mostly social
definition. This is true as it shows that the internal mannerism and detail in art, is their reality and
shows what is most important and significance in the artwork rather than the outward appearance of
the artwork itself. Tracey Moffatt and Shirin Neshat are two artists who link back to Aristotle quote
and not only that but through their artworks represent images and concepts which relate strongly back
to the aspect of social definition. Moffatt s artworks strongly link back to the social issue of child
abuse as it follows the concepts of parents having a negative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is effectively displayed in her two photographs Door Dash 1979 (1999) and Piss Bags, 1978

children, in her case it relates to how in Islam the parents don t allow their daughters to get an
education. This is shown in two of her artworks Speechless (1996) and (NAME OTHER
ARTWORK).
I have always made photographs, and the photographs have always...felt like small films...It s usually
a twisted storyline. Like me (Tracey Moffatt, 1998) Born in 1960 in Brisbane, Tracey Moffatt is an
adroit artist with topical and poignant themes. She is arguably one of the most famous Australian
artists, and her work consists of many different series of photographs. One of which is her artwork
Door Dash 1979 (1999), in her series Scarred for Life, II (1999) is a photolithograph. The
photolithograph is a process used in microfabrication to pattern parts of a thin film or the bulk of a
substrate. It uses light to transfer a geometric pattern from a photomask to a light sensitive chemical

Misrepresentation and Domination of Woman in Strindberg s Miss Julie This paper examines
misrepresentation and domination of women in August Strindberg s play Miss Julie. In this play
Strindberg presents his misogynist attitude by presenting Julie as a degenerated man hating half
woman that indicates he holds a firmly conservative position regarding the role of women in society
that makes one s superiority over another. Julie s free thinking and sexually aggressive behavior
positions her in the new women category that raises the feminist voice against patriarchy. And the fact
that these actions lead towards her destruction clearly indicates Strindberg s opposition to liberal
feminism. Despite of all rebellious activities of Julie she becomes the victim of male domination.
Feminism is a complaint against patriarchy that refuses the cultural definition of women which
attempts to fix women s identity within the male dominated canon. It breaks the social bondage of
patriarchy. Feminists believe that masculine and feminine roles are constructed by society. As
Simmone de Beauvoir states one is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Julie shows her will to take a caged bird with her because that is only creature whom she loves most.
But Jean denies and his cruelty reaches into its height when he chops that bird in chopping board
without any mercy. This act strongly presents male s cruelty on female in the play and also
foreshadows Julie s disaster at the hand of Jean. She starts cursing herself and all the moments which
she spend with him and also curses that moment when she conceived in her mother s womb and says
he should also kill her like that innocent creature. She becomes helpless in front of him. She shows her
disgust for males in her statement: I d like to see the whole of your sex swimming like that in a sea of

Reflection Paper About Travel To America
This year, I went on a 3 week voyage to China and returned to America with plenty of new
knowledge. The following story describes it in detail.
Preface: In our house, we were putting all the gifts, everyday items, etc. in our bulky suitcases. At that
moment, we were ready as a family to drive to Los Angeles and fly in a plane to 北京 then
domestically transfer to 西安. Well, it turns out that the process was going to be exceedingly harder
than I thought. We not far off through the road later in the car, we had to go back and check something
in our house. After checking, I rested in the car, hoping nothing would go out of hand. Arriving to the
massive parking lot garage, we came to park in a spot we rented. Since we could not find our parking
space, we just decided to stumble upon whatever our car fits in and isn t reserved; though it took ages.
We were rushing to the shuttle stop while being stressed out that we are going to miss both planes.
Thankfully, a hotel manager called a taxi to arrive and drive us to the LAX international airport.
Arriving, we handed over $25.00 to the taxi he requested and appeared 30 minutes before boarding. 30
mediocre minutes later, we were at the point of boarding our plane. In the plane, I was disappointed by
the poor quality of the entertainment. At least it was only 12 hours and 40 minutes of the boredom. In
the plane, it was difficult to lay my hands on a movie that is worth the watch.
Though there were some movies and TV shows that were at

Spanking In Children
Everyday parents are faced with the challenges of disciplining their children. We all wish there was an
instruction booklet that we could magical pull out and get them back on the right path, but no such
thing exists. Often times, your child pushes you to the edge of your personal limitations. At this
moment it is often we correct our child s behavior by spanking. Spanking is considered a form of
discipline that is acceptable by most and an unacceptable to a smaller crowd. Spanking can lead to
psychological problems in early adolescent, which long term can lead to emotional and anger
retention. Spanking is like smoking cigarettes. Having one or two cigarettes in a lifetime likely won t

Many of these parents who support spanking feel it is their right to do so. This is justified by the
simple fact as when they were a child they were spanked and said I turned out okay . This is probably
true for most of them, but 2017 is a different world from when they were children. Supporting parents
often say they know when and where to draw the line. At least 1,200 children are killed every year at
the hands of their parents in the name of physical punishment. (Guidance of Effective Discipline,
online). As I stated early, there is no written guideline to follow, so how do we know when enough is
enough? There is a huge grey area that is undefined and the true answer is they don t. Parents
sometimes forget that it is there duty to teach and educate to help our children reach their full
potential. Parents need to stop justifying their rights to discipline as a parent and focus on changing
the culture by using alternative methods and

Meursault s Indifference in The Stranger, by Albert Camus
In The Stranger, Albert Camus allows the main character to tell the story in order to give the reader an
experience of his own. Obviously, with a novel also comes language, which Camus incorporates
cleverly as a way to indirectly illustrate Meursault s thoughts about certain situations. Although the
novel represents a postmodern setting, the author shifts the overall meaning. In The Stranger, Camus
applies a unique literary style as a power that deflects blame from Meursault, the antiheroic character.
In order to disclaim the fault of Meursault, Camus incorporates several instances in which he leaves a
greater sense of authority to nonliving objects, while further drawing attention away from the main
character. Based on the implication of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, he covers the Arab s intentions when talking about the same blade that persists in
bringing Meursault pain. He describes the stabbing as a scorching blade [that] slashes at [his]
eyelashes and stabs at [his] stinging eyes (59). The moment that the blade brings itself to Meursault s
face and slashes at his eyelashes, of course, is the point at which Meursault acknowledges that
everything is beginning to reel. Finally, under the influence of the sea s fiery breath and the sun s
scorching attitude, Meursault admits that the trigger gave when reminiscing on the death of the Arab
(59). Not until after he blames the trigger for the mishap does he use first person to describe the
negative actions, as he shoots the Arab four more times. At this point, perhaps, he realizes his own
fault within the situation as he continues to set himself in place for the remainder of part one. The
simple sentences in The Stranger reveal Meursault s emotional detachment from society, while the
more complex sentences are assigned to objects with authority. Throughout the entire novel,
Meursault s simplicity and disinterest in the world can be identified with the incorporation of his
simple statements. Especially in this particular passage, Meursault finds it unimportant to challenge
himself in a way that makes sense. Although Meursault recognizes the sensibility of walking

Sexting Among Teenage Girls and Boys
Over the last few years, there has been a lot of discussion and debate over the topic of sexting. It has
become a widespread phenomenon, the number of teenage girls and boys, men and women who
participate are rapidly increasing, and with this too comes the rise of moral panic within societies.
Individuals within the communities are becoming more and more fearful, afraid and shocked at this
new form of youth culture hysteria. Although young people expressing their sexuality has become
much more open and free as of the last decade or so, the real uproar of panic is due to the risks they
involving themselves in as well as the damage and harm they are inflicting on themselves, whether
they know it or not.
Sexting is the act of sending, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And this is what is key to the moral panic of sexting, constant over exaggeration. As stated before the
technology and means to sext have always been available, so why now is there such anxiety and fear
towards sexting? A reason as to why this may be so, is because of the number of teens who have
committed suicide over leaked sexts. One of the most infamous cases of suicide related to this issue is
of 18 year old Jesse Logan who was mercilessly harassed at the hands of her peers. She was dating a
19 year old boy and had sent him nude pictures of herself. However after they broke up, he sent those
photos to another girl who then sent them to others and soon the whole school knew about it and had
seen the photos. From there is where the severe bullying started. On the Today show Jesse s friend,
Lauren Taylor told NBC News about some of the abuse which was inflicted upon Jessie Logan. She
says When she would come to school, she would always hear, Oh, that s the girl who sent the picture.
She s just a whore . Her mother Cynthia Logan said that She was being attacked and tortured . Even
through the bullying Jesse Logan made the decision to appear on a tv station to tell her story and make
sure no one else makes the same mistake. After enduring further harassment and abuse, Jesse was
finally able to graduate and looked to move on with her life. But after attending the funeral of one of

In this example the table shows where an employer was asked to hire more employees in order to
cover 100 departments with 30 different areas. Each new employee would work in areas 1, 2, and 3.
The area assigned to the employee would be determined by the employer him/herself. The table above
givens an example of how it will go. Then the overall question would be how the assigned areas
would be split up.
When it comes to converting the table above into a graph to the answer, I am at a little bit of a loss.
The employee numbers 1, 2, and 3 would then be converted into vertices D1, D2, and D3 and the
different areas into A1, A2, and A3 which is shown in the diagram below: In the diagram you have to
replace the S s with D s and the C s with the A s.
I believe the assigned areas would be given to the employees by the employer. An employer would be
assign to an employee by random. The employee would follow the employer s number through the
graph. This would start in area 1 and continue on through 3. If you have 100 employers and 30
employees they would be assigned in areas as 34, 33, and 33 this would allow all areas to be covered

The Phonyboy Is A Hero In The Outsiders
THE OUTSIDERS ESSAY
A hero is someone that is not selfish, cares for others besides himself, and does things that are really
brave. A hero is a person who is admired and idealized for courage. A hero would be someone that
fights for a cause. Heroes are people who rescue others, or people that do something that is really
brave. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally are heroes in the book The Outsiders. There are many reasons why
Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally are heroes.
Ponyboy is a hero because he went into a burning church and saved the children that were in the the
church. Ponyboy is also a hero is because he is a survivor. Ponyboy is a hero because he is not afraid
to step up. Ch.8 says a quote from johnny and it says I would, I would help her and Randy both if I
could. Hey, I said suddenly, can you see the sunset real good from the West Side? That meant that
Ponyboy has the desire to help people in problems which makes him a hero. Another quote was in ch
4 which meant that ponyboy isn t afraid of anything and it says You know what a Soc is? I said, my
voice trembling with rage. White trash with Mustangs and madras. And then, because I couldn t think
of anything bad enough to call them, I spit at them. Heroes are people who rescue others or people that
do something that is really brave. Ponyboy did that, so he is a hero in that way.
Johnny Cade is hero because he was one of the Greasers that were saving the children in burning

Xenotransplantation Essay
Moral, Environmental and Cultural Issues
From the beginning, xenotransplantations have been an ethically controversial procedure and for many
diverse reasons. Diverse groups are fervently opposed to it: animal rights groups, for instance, are
undoubtedly against butchering animals to collect their organs for some human s sake. Although, most
major religions aren t resistant to the use of genetically modified xenografts to save human lives, the
proscription of pig consumption poses some dilemmas for the Jewish and Islamic communities. When
divine providence is not being used to justify the genetic engineering of animals, then some
evolutionary ethic of the strongest calls the tune or might is right seems to obtain (Sherlock Morrey,

Patients, in that case, must be entirely aware of what the procedure implies, without any outside
influence affecting their choice, and must, themselves, understand the risks and benefits of this type of
transplantation.
Also, some have suggested that family and close friends of the patient should also give consent
because of the magnitude of repercussions xenografts imply; the great possibility of diseases and
viruses crossing over to humans make the patients closest contacts at risk as well. Therefore, it is
important that those contacts be monitored to assure that a xenozoonosis is not happening. This
proposal arise another ethical question: the consent of the patient can turn out to be narrowed down if
the family and friends don t agree with putting themselves at risk and the confidentiality principles
would also be broken.
Evidently, the public s safety remains a significant element to be measured. Procedures must be in
place to protect the public from any risk due to possible outbreaks. Ergo society must understand the
risks and benefits of xenograft and consent to its application. This societal response is a very
important ethical issue according to the Ethics Committee of the International Xenotransplantation
Association and it will be hard to overcome until researches proves the achievement of a low risk
graft, resulting from genetically modified

New workers in the health care role are often excited, energetic, and ready to take on whatever comes

common among health care providers and consists of five major concepts. These five concepts are
ambiguity, no win situations, role overload, role conflict, and not being adequately recognized.
Researching concepts of compassion fatigue looks at the nature and causes along with the physical,

This is formed in the wake of lacking information and clear goals (Espeland, 2006). Direction and
expectations are needed to make sure a person feels comfortable with the job they are doing. If there is
no direction or expectations it becomes difficult to be confident that they are doing their job. When a
person is not confident in what they are doing then one can feel like they are constantly making
mistakes and can lead to an attitude of always being on defense. The second concept is a no win
situation where a supervisor or boss is not happy with the job a healthcare worker does no matter how
good a job the employee is doing (Espeland, 2006). Care givers and health care providers always
strive to do better and change if needed. If a supervisor or boss gives you direction to change a way of
doing things because they feel you are doing something wrong, and then when you change they are
still not satisfied a person can feel as if they can not do anything to make the situation any better no
matter what they do to change. The third concept is role overload and this happens when the health

The Asch Conformity Experiment
Humans often act in ways they know to be incorrect or wrong for their own social benefit, often
because we fear being different. One example of this is the Asch Conformity Experiment, where 75%
of participants would choose the wrong answer on an obvious question just to not stand out from the
crowd. After the experiment, all said they felt self conscious and feared disapproval from the group.
Another example is when those in a social group have preferences or choices differ from the rest of
the group, they will often conform to the rest of the group s opinion. Nobody wants to be the only
person to dislike a certain food or think a certain way, they fear they will be judged negatively for it.

As it is referred above, the objective of this problem is to take a decision concerning the purchase of a
new city car. For this reason, the article Best city cars from the website carbuyer.co.uk (2014) is very
helpful as it provides the best ten city cars among which the final decision will be made. All these city
cars (alternatives) are available in different versions. Due to the limited budget (9000pounds) the
decision making is focused on the economical model, widely well known as S trim level. In this

Rhitorical Appeals in Literature Essay
Throughout the Three pieces of literature I read Superman and Me by Sherman Alexie, Crazy Courage
by Alma Luz Villanueva, and Theme for English B by Langston Hughes, multiple claims are implied
on the subject of knowledge and individual power. Whether it is about Race, being different, or the
struggle to survive, they all point towards the same direction. They all show that being strong, proud,
and courage is what makes you individually powerful, even if others may look down upon you or
think of you as weird. Through the use of the rhetorical appeals ethos, logos, and pathos, these three
authors truly move the readers to really accept what they are trying to prove. In Superman and Me by
Sherman Alexie, the narrator s claim is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the poem Crazy Courage by Alma Luz Villanueva, the author talks about a man named Michael that
she met in her fiction class, who, as she later finds out, is a cross dresser. Using the rhetorical appeal
Pathos, the author truly proves her point that other people s opinions do not matter so long as you are
courageous and confident about yourself. In the poem, Michael seems so courageous, even though he
is dressed in woman s clothes and in front of an entire class, that it shocked / the young, seen it all
MTV crowd / into silence (Villanueva 20 23). The class was so shocked at the confidence of the
person in front of them considering his situation that they couldn t even speak. In fact, even those who
would kill him were impressed at the level of courage he must have had, and the fact that he seemed
even happier in the seemingly odd clothes and outfit he was wearing (Villanueva 27). Last but not
least is the poem Theme for English B by Langston Hughes. The author Langston Hughes seems to
use more of a Logical appeal. While it doesn t seem to be the most organized Poem, there is without a
doubt some sort of claim. While it isn t necessarily the best example of a claim that relates to
knowledge and individual power, it seemed like an interesting poem to write about. In my opinion, the
author is trying to show that even though he is of a different race than his white teacher, and even
though he is

Identity Of The Maori And New Zealand Chinese Identity
Identity is what one is as a person and what that person can contribute to the society. Identity
formation in New Zealand as a significant concept, as due to the history of the nation one s identity is
critical to what the society perceives of the person. In this assignment I will be of the Maori Race in
the Media by Melanie wall (1997) and New Zealand Chinese Identity: exploring two texts
Stereotypical constructions Sojourners, Model Minority and Multiple identities by Manying Ip and
David Pang (2005), both of which discuss issues related to identity in New Zealand.
Stereotypical Constructions of the Maori Race in the Media by Melanie Wall
In her text Stereotypical Constructions of the Maori Race in the Media Melanie Wall (1997) explores
two key ideas: how stereotypes gave Pakeha the justification to Colonise New Zealand and the
contemporary stereotypes of Maori in the media. Wall s argument is centred on the idea that the
stereotypes in the media today have been re created from the identity that was given to the Maori by
Pakeha during colonisation. she further argues that not only that the stereotypes were given to the
Maori but they were used to justify the colonisation of New Zealand. Wall goes on to say that racial
disclosure has played a huge role in the colonisation of territories as stereotypes were used to justify
the conceptual domination and the material exploitation of the new world (pg40). Wall claims that
since the Maori were portrayed as

Crime And Crime
Possible explanations
To find a correlation between immigration and crime we must look at cultural differences. Thorsten
Sellin, a sociologist from the University of Pennsylvania, argues that conflicting conduct norms
between the old and new societies is the principal cause of crime among youth. Sellin points to
immigrant s values in that they often deviate from receiving societies (Sellin, 1938). To summarize, in
the absence of clear cut rules, individuals are likely to deviate from norms that are not self evident.
Sellin s argument points to an increase in crime and delinquency because migrant populations are
unable or unsuccessful to cultural adaption to the hosting society. Edwin Sutherland, a criminologist in
Pennsylvania, also points to acculturation as a connection to crime regarding immigrants (Sutherland,
1978). Sutherland argues that the blame should not be on immigrant s cultural origins but instead the
acculturation into American Society, which would naturally affect the second generation immigrants.
Sutherlands view has led some to believe that second generation immigrants may be more crime
prone. Sutherland states that ..this acculturation perspective addresses the problem of cultural
assimilation and its effect on delinquency and risky behavior (Sutherland, 1978). Sutherland brings up
a valid point in that the reason we statistically see later generations of immigrants committing crime is
that they are naturalizing to American society. However, even

Sociology as Essay
Examine the ways in which sociologists can contribute to our understanding of how social identity is
shaped by gender. (24 marks)
An identity is who we are, this is made up of how we see ourselves and how others see us. Social
identity is based on one s membership to particular groups in society. This essay will examine the way
in which sociologist contribute to our understanding by providing theories and ideas of how social
identity is shaped by gender.
Ann Oakley, a feminist sociologist suggested that there are four ways in which gender socialization
takes place during primary socialization. These are manipulation, canalization, verbal appellations,
and different activities. Manipulation is when parents encourage behaviour that is ... Show more

Parents direct their child interest into certain behaviour according to their gender, for example when
boys are younger they are encouraged to play football and be aggressive and they are discouraged
from crying. And girls are encouraged to play with dolls and to look after their appearance. Feminists
believe this is how an individual s social identity is shaped by gender.
However post modernists sociologists criticize the feminist theory. Post modernists believe that due to
social and economic changes, female role and identities are changing. The changes in the job market
has led to a decline in traditional labour jobs that employed men and new jobs in the service sector are
increasing. These jobs in the service sector are aimed at employing women. As women are going out
to work their values are changing so female identities are changing.
Similarly today s idea of masculinity is different, there are other types of masculinity today, and it is
viewed differently. Bob Connell, a Post modernist sociologist believed that men have become more in
touch with their feminine side and there are now more househusbands and New men. A househusband
is a man that is more involved at home. So the man would take care of the children, and does the
chores as well. Also the fact that celebrities such as David Beckham, a male who is more concerned
with his image, has led to men believing, this is how they should act and behave as well, it gives men

Performance
In this section developments in graphical methods of assessing water drive performance are presented.
An extensive number of graphical and mathematical extrapolation techniques is available in the
literature. A number mathematical extrapolation methods were also assessed (not presented here).
Mathematical extrapolation technique presented by Dake (1994) was found to be quite effective in
predicting future production performance and in assessing the effects of any remedial actions which
has taken place. The method was tested on two fields, namely Miller and Maureen. Description of
method proposed by Dake is presented below.

Conversion from surface volumes to reservoir pore volumes is performed using the following
relationships:
N_pd=(N_p B_o)/(NB_oi )(1 S_wc)
W_id=W_i/(NB_oi )(1 S_wc)
Since 1PV=(NB_oi)/(1 S_wc )
Finally, the dependence of fractional flow at the producing end of the system on fractional flow at
reservoir conditions is expressed using the classical Buckley Leverett fraction flow function:
f_we=1/(1+B_o/B_w (1/f_ws 1))
It must be noted that in most water drive reservoirs before the water breakthrough, there is an initial
period of depletion. The fractional flow calculations, only take into account the oil recovered by water
injection. Therefore calculations can be performed only after the water breaks through in the
producing wells.
Prediction of final oil recovery
If injection rates during the latter part of the flood are relatively stable, then 1/Wid function can be
approximated by a straight line, which can be fitted by equation of the form:
(δf_we)/(δS_we )=aS_we+b
Where a and b are constants. Integrating the equation results in quadratic function: f_we=a^2/2
S_we^2+bS_we+c
Where c is constant. Predicted values of fwe and Swe obtained by extrapolation of the quadratic
equation above are then can be used in Welge equation for predicting Npd as a function of fwe, which
are then should be converted to surface conditions.

Naturalism In The Open Boat By Stephen Crane
The Open Boat opens with a captivating line, None of them knew the color of the sky. None of the
men know the color of the sky because they are so determined to survive. Crane automatically sets the
scene for this story by telling us there s nothing appealing about one fighting for their life. The Open
Boat is a short story written by Steven Crane about four men stranded on a dinghy after their boat had
sunk overnight. The four stranded men in this story were a correspondent, an oiler, a cook and a
captain. The men were having trouble staying alive because at first, they had no hope for survival.
Naturalist themes occur in Stephen Crane s The Open Boat as it shows the struggle that nature throws
at the men and their chance for survival. Naturalism s main belief, is that individual human beings are
at the mercy of uncontrollable larger forces that originate both within and outside them. The only way
the men were able to survive was perseverance, because the apathetic universe did not care what their
outcomes were. The Open Boat does well at representing naturalism and how the men get presented
the changes and roughness nature approaches them with.
Crane shows how it appears that man has no purpose in nature when he writes when it occurs to a man
that nature does not regard him as important, and that she feels she would no main the universe by
disposing of him, he at first wishes to throw bricks at the temple, and he hates deeply the fact that

The Impact Of Technology On Technology Acceptance
Introduction
A range of studies has been conducted on instructional technology. Many findings show that
technology has a significant contribution to the improvement in teachers competency and instruction
effectiveness. However, not all applications of technology in the classroom lead to the desired goals.
There are numerous constrains that may contribute to this. The level of technology acceptance is one
of these factors. However, what influences technology acceptance among teachers? The article
discusses a study conducted to determine the influence of gender on technology acceptance. This
article is important to my research topic. Many research studies conducted in the past have focused on
the impact of technology on the effectiveness of teaching or student learning. Few articles have
focused on factors affecting technological adoption in learning facilities. These studies have found an
improvement in learners scores on tests associated with content covered in technology assisted
instructional packages. While the selection of suitable technology is the initial step, employment of
the technology by teachers determines its effectiveness. The effectiveness factor of instructional
technologies is often ignored. The reasoning is that teachers may be willing to utilize technology but
may be influenced by other factors besides availability of necessary technology. The problem calls for
research as educators need to proactively take such factors into consideration when

according to the Disney Blog What Disney saw in 2008 was those who drove tended to stay in
Orlando a day or two longer on average. But they didn t travel as frequently throughout the year,
rather they saved it up for one long vacation. This means that the number of visitors to the parks only

saw in 2008 and 2009 and the pattern we re seeing now. Disney world at Florida offers jobs and

Mass Destruction And Death In William Golding s Lord Of...
Humans kill. Whether it be animals, insects or people, humans kill. Human look at others and use the
justice system to try and fix what other humans have done and this is the way they are punished. They
are punished in a functioning society with rules and laws, but when all that is stripped away what are
you left with? Mass destruction and humans that kill. Lord of the Flies published in 1954 and written
by Nobel Prize winning author, William Golding, portrays the violence and eradication of a
functioning society through young boys stranded on an island. Golding uses the symbol fire and
forgetfulness of the need for it to develop the theme of the loss of society and creation of uncivilized
destruction. He uses the character Ralph as a connection to the fire to imply the civilization seen in the
story.
Ralph as chief in the beginning of Lord of the Flies uses fire to fuel his main goal as a leader, which is
to get back home. He treats the fire as a necessity and one of the most important assets of being on the
island. Ralph uses the smoke from the fire as a safety net that keeps him comfortable and with the
hope of getting home. And we ll be responsible for keeping a lookout too. If we see a ship out
there...we ll put green branches on. Then there ll be more smoke (Golding 43). He emphasizes the
need for the smoke as he sees this as one of the only ways that they will ever be rescued. Ralph is seen
to be still full of hope for life and escaping. He uses the symbol fire

Paul Laurence Dunbar s Work
By: Paul Laurence Dunbar Paul Dunbar was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 27, 1872. Both of his
parents, Joshua and Matilda Dunbar, were slaves. Shortly after Paul was born his parents separated.
Paul was driven by his parent s life story to write poetry. In school Paul would edit the newspaper for
the school along with being a member of the literary and debate societies. As Paul grew older he
began writing and was a very intelligent student in school, he and his family did not have much
money; therefore he had to put his college career on hold. Paul took a job as an elevator operator,
which gave him opportunities to write. He was invited to read his poems at a meeting one evening and
from that night he was repeatedly asked to events to read. In 1893, at age 21, Paul self published a
series called Oak and Ivy. To cover the cost of the publication, Dunbar sold copies to the people who
rode the elevator for one dollar. Dunbar moved to Chicago later that year. By 1895, Dunbar had poems
published in popular newspapers and magazines. Frederick Douglass, a fan of Dunbar s work, called
him the most promising colored man in America (Project MUSE). While in Chicago, Dunbar had
written many poems and stories. He wrote eleven poems, four short stories, five novels, and a play
before his death at thirty three. He had several unpublished short stories and poems that brought him a
lot of attention at his readings. A few years later, Dunbar went on a 6 month tour of England to read

No Exit Existentialism
The drama, No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre, is about three characters, who made ruthless decisions during
their time on earth and are now left in hell to torture one another. The anecdote s setting takes place in
hell, where the three characters reveal their horrendous crimes which led to their eternal suffering at
the hands of one another. The drama portrays existentialism, which is the idea that the existence of an
individual as being free and responsible in determining their own choices whose consequences they
must face.
A particular scene from the drama, which defines existentialism effectively is, when Estelle was
seeking a mirror. Upon not finding one, Inez volunteered to be her personal mirror. Repeatedly, Inez
kept on flirting with Estelle, who in return wanted Garcin s affection. Meanwhile, Estelle explained
that she had six mirrors in her bedroom that she constantly needed to look at to remind herself of her
existence. Finally, Estelle allowed Inez to be her mirror. Inez teased Estelle, who worried if they

Stono Rebellion Research Paper
Early Sunday Morning, on September 9th, 1739, a band of slaves marched, carrying banners that
declared Liberty! . This revolt, named the Stono Rebellion, was the largest uprising in the colonies
with over 50 people killed. Although the reason for this slave revolt is not 100 percent clear, there are

The Stono Rebellion was the largest uprising in the colonies. While it is unclear exactly what may
have riled up the slaves, there are many theories, such as the decrease of freedom due to the
implementation of multiple strict laws. Whatever may have caused the rebellion, on September 9th,

Theme Of Truth In Othello
The ideas of truth and perception are hard to differentiate in everyday life, making the real truth harder
to seek. The main functions in Othello are perception and truth which is a person s viewpoint or their
interpretation of reality, and truth being what actually happens, and these facts can be easily
manipulated. Othello, written by William Shakespeare, is a general who is constantly tormented
between the false and real truth by Iago who skillfully manipulates him throughout the story. In Plato s
The Republic, he also talks about these themes, saying that the truth can be shaped by your view of
reality and by stereotypes. In Othello, Shakespeare is saying that perception can easily alter the truth
of others, making the truth harder to accept. In the play, Iago skillfully manipulates Othello saying that
Desdemona is unfaithful to him through telling false stories, tormenting him with thoughts, and
persuading him to kill Desdemona and Cassio. These perceptions of truth from Honest Iago lead to
Othello s downfall; the truth in is often manipulated to Iago s personal benefit, Or to be naked with her
friend in bed, an hour or more, not meaning any harm? (IV, i, 1, 5 6) Iago is able to do this because of
his honest reputation and is verbally skilled. He s easily able to manipulate the real truth because of
his name Honest Iago. From Plato s The Republic and his Allegory of the Cave, the sunlight causes
the shadows that the prisoners see inside the cave, [...] they only

Defining Religion:
In the 1950s and 1960s, many social scientists and historians in the United States argued that Western
societies were becoming secularized and that religion was fading out as an important part of public
and even private life. But they were wrong. Religion has not only retained its importance for most
people in the United States, it has become the subject of current public debate about national culture
and political practice.
In most Western traditions are two very common definitions of religion. One emphasizes in an
individual s beliefs and the other one is people emptions. The first defines religion as a set of shared

On the other hand, an article published in Reuters by Davis (2014) indicated that Italy is famous for its ultras , groups of hardcore fans who are frequently behind the stadium violence which has dogged all levels of the country s football since the 1970s (para.22). Such directories along with numerous other evidences and incidents raise the negative reputation of the Turkish and Italian football fans as a result of football hooliganism, which in fact has several threats, causes, effects, and violence aspects to be considered in relation to the modern football. • 7. The Environmental Technology Program At S.a.i.t The program that I have chosen to study is the Environmental technology program at S.A.I.T and this is important not because I want to shut down all the dirty energy companies that work in the oil and gas or coal sector but because I want to make them better and more sustainable so that the resources will last longer. More people should think this way because the world needs these companies to survive and it would be economic suicide to shut just oil and gas down, look at what is happening right now and it is only a downturn. But if new technology is created and new methods are put into place, then what is now seen as the worst form of energy, environmentally it can be seen as something that is more sustainable with less of an environmental impact. This is what my program focuses on, how to reduce waste and how to treat the waste that is created, so when it is either released back into the environment or there is a spill or leak that it will not be as harmful. The environmental technology program will help get more women into the science field which will then advance them in the working world. This program will draw women in because it can be seen less threatening than say a petroleum technology program where it is mostly men. But we are taught how to do things in the lab, out in the field, and behind a desk and in many different types businesses such as agriculture, water treatment, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and many others. • 8. Essay On Tracey Moffatt And Shirin Neshat This quote by Aristotle is shown to be true as art is known as a language in images, and is a way artist can communicate ideas and express conceptions, about self, culture, community and mostly social definition. This is true as it shows that the internal mannerism and detail in art, is their reality and shows what is most important and significance in the artwork rather than the outward appearance of the artwork itself. Tracey Moffatt and Shirin Neshat are two artists who link back to Aristotle quote and not only that but through their artworks represent images and concepts which relate strongly back to the aspect of social definition. Asmita Pokhrel Sec: A Day shift Instructor: Jiblal Lamsal Eng: 551, Drama August 11, 2015 Misrepresentation and Domination of Woman in Strindberg s Miss Julie This paper examines misrepresentation and domination of women in August Strindberg s play Miss Julie. In this play Strindberg presents his misogynist attitude by presenting Julie as a degenerated man hating half woman that indicates he holds a firmly conservative position regarding the role of women in society that makes one s superiority over another. Julie s free thinking and sexually aggressive behavior positions her in the new women category that raises the feminist voice against patriarchy. And the fact that these actions lead towards her destruction clearly indicates Strindberg s opposition to liberal feminism. Despite of all rebellious activities of Julie she becomes the victim of male domination. Feminism is a complaint against patriarchy that refuses the cultural definition of women which attempts to fix women s identity within the male dominated canon. It breaks the social bondage of patriarchy. Feminists believe that masculine and feminine roles are constructed by society. As Simmone de Beauvoir states one is not ... Preface: In our house, we were putting all the gifts, everyday items, etc. in our bulky suitcases. At that moment, we were ready as a family to drive to Los Angeles and fly in a plane to 北京 then domestically transfer to 西安. Well, it turns out that the process was going to be exceedingly harder than I thought. We not far off through the road later in the car, we had to go back and check something in our house. After checking, I rested in the car, hoping nothing would go out of hand. Arriving to the massive parking lot garage, we came to park in a spot we rented. Since we could not find our parking space, we just decided to stumble upon whatever our car fits in and isn t reserved; though it took ages. 30 mediocre minutes later, we were at the point of boarding our plane. In the plane, I was disappointed by the poor quality of the entertainment. At least it was only 12 hours and 40 minutes of the boredom. Obviously, with a novel also comes language, which Camus incorporates cleverly as a way to indirectly illustrate Meursault s thoughts about certain situations. Although the novel represents a postmodern setting, the author shifts the overall meaning. In The Stranger, Camus applies a unique literary style as a power that deflects blame from Meursault, the antiheroic character. In order to disclaim the fault of Meursault, Camus incorporates several instances in which he leaves a greater sense of authority to nonliving objects, while further drawing attention away from the main character. Finally, under the influence of the sea s fiery breath and the sun s scorching attitude, Meursault admits that the trigger gave when reminiscing on the death of the Arab (59). Not until after he blames the trigger for the mishap does he use first person to describe the negative actions, as he shoots the Arab four more times. At this point, perhaps, he realizes his own fault within the situation as he continues to set himself in place for the remainder of part one. The simple sentences in The Stranger reveal Meursault s emotional detachment from society, while the more complex sentences are assigned to objects with authority. Throughout the entire novel, Meursault s simplicity and disinterest in the world can be identified with the incorporation of his simple statements. A reason as to why this may be so, is because of the number of teens who have committed suicide over leaked sexts. One of the most infamous cases of suicide related to this issue is of 18 year old Jesse Logan who was mercilessly harassed at the hands of her peers. She was dating a 19 year old boy and had sent him nude pictures of herself. Thorsten Sellin, a sociologist from the University of Pennsylvania, argues that conflicting conduct norms between the old and new societies is the principal cause of crime among youth. Sellin points to immigrant s values in that they often deviate from receiving societies (Sellin, 1938). To summarize, in the absence of clear cut rules, individuals are likely to deviate from norms that are not self evident. Sellin s argument points to an increase in crime and delinquency because migrant populations are unable or unsuccessful to cultural adaption to the hosting society. Edwin Sutherland, a criminologist in Pennsylvania, also points to acculturation as a connection to crime regarding immigrants (Sutherland, 1978). Sutherland argues that the blame should not be on immigrant s cultural origins but instead the acculturation into American Society, which would naturally affect the second generation immigrants. Sutherlands view has led some to believe that second generation immigrants may be more crime prone. Sutherland states that ..this acculturation perspective addresses the problem of cultural assimilation and its effect on delinquency and risky behavior (Sutherland, 1978). Prediction of final oil recovery If injection rates during the latter part of the flood are relatively stable, then 1/Wid function can be approximated by a straight line, which can be fitted by equation of the form: (δf_we)/(δS_we )=aS_we+b Where a and b are constants. Integrating the equation results in quadratic function: f_we=a^2/2 S_we^2+bS_we+c Where c is constant. Predicted values of fwe and Swe obtained by extrapolation of the quadratic equation above are then can be used in Welge equation for predicting Npd as a function of fwe, which are then should be converted to surface conditions. • 29. Naturalism In The Open Boat By Stephen Crane The Open Boat opens with a captivating line, None of them knew the color of the sky. None of the men know the color of the sky because they are so determined to survive. Crane automatically sets the scene for this story by telling us there s nothing appealing about one fighting for their life. The Open Boat is a short story written by Steven Crane about four men stranded on a dinghy after their boat had sunk overnight. The four stranded men in this story were a correspondent, an oiler, a cook and a captain. The men were having trouble staying alive because at first, they had no hope for survival. Naturalist themes occur in Stephen Crane s The Open Boat as it shows the struggle that nature throws at the men and their chance for survival. Naturalism s main belief, is that individual human beings are at the mercy of uncontrollable larger forces that originate both within and outside them. The only way the men were able to survive was perseverance, because the apathetic universe did not care what their outcomes were. The Open Boat does well at representing naturalism and how the men get presented the changes and roughness nature approaches them with. Crane shows how it appears that man has no purpose in nature when he writes when it occurs to a man that nature does not regard him as important, and that she feels she would no main the universe by disposing of him, he at first wishes to throw bricks at the temple, and he hates deeply the fact that there are no bricks ... • 31. The Impact Of Technology On Technology Acceptance Introduction A range of studies has been conducted on instructional technology. Many findings show that technology has a significant contribution to the improvement in teachers competency and instruction effectiveness. However, not all applications of technology in the classroom lead to the desired goals. There are numerous constrains that may contribute to this. The level of technology acceptance is one of these factors. However, what influences technology acceptance among teachers? The article discusses a study conducted to determine the influence of gender on technology acceptance. This article is important to my research topic. Many research studies conducted in the past have focused on the impact of technology on the effectiveness of teaching or student learning. Few articles have focused on factors affecting technological adoption in learning facilities. These studies have found an improvement in learners scores on tests associated with content covered in technology assisted instructional packages. While the selection of suitable technology is the initial step, employment of the technology by teachers determines its effectiveness. The effectiveness factor of instructional technologies is often ignored. The reasoning is that teachers may be willing to utilize technology but may be influenced by other factors besides availability of necessary technology. The problem calls for research as educators need to proactively take such factors into consideration when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Disney World and resorts alone account for 2.5% of Florida s gross domestic product about 18.2 billion dollars in annual economic activity as well. Disney, as we all may know is one of Florida s greatest attractions. For instance according to the Disney Blog What Disney saw in 2008 was those who drove tended to stay in Orlando a day or two longer on average. But they didn t travel as frequently throughout the year, rather they saved it up for one long vacation. This means that the number of visitors to the parks only declines slightly, and it also tends to spread the visits out over the whole year. That s the pattern we saw in 2008 and 2009 and the pattern we re seeing now. Human look at others and use the justice system to try and fix what other humans have done and this is the way they are punished. They are punished in a functioning society with rules and laws, but when all that is stripped away what are you left with? Mass destruction and humans that kill. Lord of the Flies published in 1954 and written by Nobel Prize winning author, William Golding, portrays the violence and eradication of a functioning society through young boys stranded on an island. Golding uses the symbol fire and forgetfulness of the need for it to develop the theme of the loss of society and creation of uncivilized destruction. He uses the character Ralph as a connection to the fire to imply the civilization seen in the story. Ralph as chief in the beginning of Lord of the Flies uses fire to fuel his main goal as a leader, which is to get back home. He treats the fire as a necessity and one of the most important assets of being on the island. Ralph uses the smoke from the fire as a safety net that keeps him comfortable and with the hope of getting home. And we ll be responsible for keeping a lookout too. If we see a ship out there...we ll put green branches on. Then there ll be more smoke (Golding 43). He emphasizes the need for the smoke as he sees this as one of the only ways that they will ever be rescued. Ralph is seen to be still full of hope for life and escaping. He uses the symbol fire ... Although the reason for this slave revolt is not 100 percent clear, there are multiple theories. To address the validity of these theories, it is important to get a deeper understanding of the backgrounds of the key leaders and participants of this revolt, such as Jemmy. The Stono Rebellion was the largest uprising in the colonies. While it is unclear exactly what may have riled up the slaves, there are many theories, such as the decrease of freedom due to the implementation of multiple strict laws. The main functions in Othello are perception and truth which is a person s viewpoint or their interpretation of reality, and truth being what actually happens, and these facts can be easily manipulated. Othello, written by William Shakespeare, is a general who is constantly tormented between the false and real truth by Iago who skillfully manipulates him throughout the story. In Plato s The Republic, he also talks about these themes, saying that the truth can be shaped by your view of reality and by stereotypes. In Othello, Shakespeare is saying that perception can easily alter the truth of others, making the truth harder to accept. In the play, Iago skillfully manipulates Othello saying that Desdemona is unfaithful to him through telling false stories, tormenting him with thoughts, and persuading him to kill Desdemona and Cassio. These perceptions of truth from Honest Iago lead to Othello s downfall; the truth in is often manipulated to Iago s personal benefit, Or to be naked with her friend in bed, an hour or more, not meaning any harm?
