Abstract
This research paper will examine the concepts of psychopathology, or abnormal psychology and how
it deals with a various set of symptoms or behaviors that manifested by functional impairments in a
person s life. Psychological disorders (e.g. Major Depressive Disorder) and the causes of abnormal
behaviour have been understood by a various different theories and have been documented throughout
historical transformations. Additionally, this research illustrates the Causes of the Depression, ... Show

In just one theory, Burton believed that melancholy could be prevented with a sufficient sleep, music,
healthy diet, and consequential work , as well as having a balanced social life with friends and family.
Moreover, in the period of 18th century, the theory of melancholia, which is linked to a Major
Depressive Disorder, had become progressively more challenged by electrical and mechanical
explanations; whereby, if a person exhibited a gloomy and dark state of mind it was also proved that
the person gave way to a depleted state of energy loss (Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007). The term depression
was derived from a Latin verb deprimere, to press down. Dated as far back to the 14th century, the
term to depress meant to bring down in spirits or to conquer (AllDisease.org, 2011). Even though
melancholia continued to be the leading diagnostic expression, depression increased its frequency (its
usage of name) in the medical field and was a synonym by the end of its century. The DSM I (1952)
(as cited in Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007) refers to depressive reaction and the DSM II (1968) (as cited in
Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007) depressive neurosis, as words that define an extreme reaction to an
identifiable conflict or an internal circumstance (DSM, 2000).
Causes of the Depression It appears that psychological, social, and biological factors will all play a
role into the various degrees that cause depression. Many theorists believe that the depression

Hero My Mom
The Super Hero I Call Mom
My mother occupies a special place in my heart that can never be replaced. She became pregnant with
me at the age of nineteen. Being a young, single mother, she had to overcome difficult obstacles to get
us to where we are today. Life was tough and there were many times where she just wanted to give up,
but she was determined to turn her life around for the better. She ingrained a lifetime worth of advice
into my head but it was her actions that taught me that the struggles I will face now will make me
stronger in the end.
As a senior in high school, my mother was the colonel of the drill team and was preparing for college
when life threw a major curve ball her way. Once she realized she was pregnant with me, she had to
change her lifestyle entirely. With no support, financially or emotionally from my father, my mother
had to do it all on her own. This greatly affected my mother because even to this day she is still
playing a role as both a mother and father figure, and has never complained or failed to follow through
with any of her responsibilities. Raising me was especially hard for my mother because she lacked
financial stability. There were times when she didn t even have enough money for a bottle of formula.
Her parents allowed her to stay at home with them but she was required to pay rent in exchange for
my grandmother babysitting me while she worked as receptionist at a local chemical plant.
Working at the chemical plant and seeing her

Vacation On Vacation
Have you ever been to Las Vegas or on vacation with your family ? I have. I do not go on vacation
that often the last time we went on vacation was 6 years ago so I bet you can imagine my excitement
for this summer. The ride to Las Vegas was about 14 hours I think it was ok though because I enjoy
long rides I didn t sleep the whole ride.
On June 29 I woke up at about 7am with the sun shining through my French doors and my bird
singing it was a beautiful morning and I was excited for what the day had ahead. We had left at 12 in
the afternoon. The count of everyone in the car including the dogs was 8 it was me my brother Jacob,
my mom ,my dad , and my sister Mallory . On the way there we saw some cool things like the seven
magic mountains which are like seven tall stacks of boulders that are painted. I took a 20 minuet nap
when I woke up we were in the beautiful Las Vegas we were actually just entering the Las Vegas strip.
If you have never been to the Las Vegas strip I will tell you what it looks like so you can get a little
picture in your head of where I was when I woke up. We got there at night so it was really bright and
colorful lots of billboards and people walking on the sidewalks it was really pact with people. When
we got to my grandmas house I had a flash back from the last time I visited her but she was living in
another house I remember her red kitchen walls with a white living room with a bunch of

Reflection Of The Bauhaus Movement
Introduction
The Bauhaus was established by Walter Gropius (1883 1969)in Germany ,according to the Bauhaus
interiors , the Bauhaus is actually a word which has been inverted( suahuab) from a German term
which means building house or house construction ( The Bauhaus Movement, 2012) .
Johannes Itten (1888 1967) was the one who initially established the heart of Bauhaus education
(Meggs 1998:279) which was the prefatory course. In the year 1923, Johannes Itten left the Bauhaus
due to the fact of disagreement about the conduct of this course (Meggs 1998:279), which was his
methodology of direct experience sought to develop perceptual awareness, intellectual abilities, and
emotional experience (B. Meggs, 1998). Walter Gropius was the focal point of the arts and crafts since

Isabel Allende Feminism
Isabel Allende was born on August 2, 1942, in Lima, Peru, to TomĂĄs and Francisca Allende. Isabel
Allende is the goddaughter of Salvador Allende, the first socialist president of Chile who was her
father s cousin. Allende s father was a diplomat and deserted the family when Allende was just two
years. Allende, her siblings, and mother then moved in with her grandfather in Chile. Allende
remembers herself as a rebellious child during those years living with her grandfather. We lived in an
affluent house with no money, (Allende, 14). My grandfather would pay for what was necessary but
my mother did not even have the cash to buy us an ice cream. I wanted to be like my grandfather
because my mother had a terrible life and he had all the privileges and the power and the freedom and
the car I think that was the moment I started to rebel against all male authority: the police, the church,
everything. (Allende 15). This empowering attitude that Allledne has is shown in most of her literary
work such as The Storys of Eva Luna, House of Spirits, and Eva Luna. Allende grew up in an
atmosphere where women were inferior to men and this is why Allende writes stories where the
woman is strong and independent. To many readers, Allende comes across as a feminist and
empowering author because most of Allende s work is about how women can succeed without the
need of a man but don t get this wrong, Allende also is known for her romanticism in her stories
specially on a Gift for a SweetHeart. The Stories of Eva Luna by Isabel Allende is a compilation of
many short stories focusing on universal themes centering on human emotions. Gift for a Sweetheart
is one of these stories which is about a man named Horacio Fortunato who falls desperately in love
with a married woman named Patricia Zimmerman. Fortunato overcomes many defeats of both the
monetary and emotional kind and through perseverance, he finally gains an audience by his true love.
Perseverance eventually leads to the fulfillment of a goal. This perseverance could be related to
Alledes persseverance in life such as becoming a journalist and author. Throughout the three Fortunato
generations, there was the desired result of a successful circus. The first

The Patterns Of Individuals Past Events Essay
To explore and probe the patterns of individuals past events, my research will consist of interviewing
twenty urban residents in the city of Oakland. I would listen to individual s experiences and stories
about the discrimination these individuals have faced. From the interviews and surveys, I will focus on
three primary themes, which are social differences, racial discrimination, and health disparities.
Anticipating from these abstract principles contributes to the following idea on: the differences placed
upon discrimination amongst people of darker skin tone, and the serious health effects of these African
American people.
To many, health disparities amongst different races may appear like an extraneous matter. But, it has
come to seriously affect the lives of African Americans. Williams (MMWR 2005, Williams 1995)
noted that African Americans suffer a higher rate of health related issues. Today, African Americans
still bear a disproportionate burden in disease morbidity, mortality, disability, and injury (MMWR
2005, Williams 1995). The shocking statement adds to the health issues they suffer: heart disease,
diabetes, and obesity, which is a critical factor for African Americans. Additional findings from
(Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips 1993) address how other factors such as: ones
socioeconomic status (SES), race, and gender, concludes to the differences of health risks for
individuals (Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips, 1993). The differences of a

How Relations between Superpowers Worsened between 1959 and the Summer of 1962
There are many reasons why relations between the superpowers worsened between 1959 and the
summer of 1962. The USA and USSR were already enemies. This was because they both represented
different ideas. The USA was capitalist, however, The USSR was communist whose beliefs clashed
with Capitalism. Superpower relations were based on fear and suspicion. They both tried to restrict the
influence of the other. In 1947 the Truman Doctrine was published by the US president Harry Truman.
It offered help to any country that was being threatened either from or within its own borders. This

They tried to have bigger better bombs than the superpower.
In 1962 both leaders were testing nuclear bombs. This is when they decided to test in Cuba. This lead
to the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. Overall relations worsened between superpowers in many
different ways ranging from small to large issues. I think the most important factor in worsening
relations was the changes in Cuba, If these had not taken place then Castro would not have eventually
asked for help from the USSR and a war may not have taken place in Cuba. I think all the of things
that took place more important though some were more than others. They all linked together and
eventually caused a Cuban Missile crisis to take place in 1962.
2) Why did a crisis develop in 1962 about Cuba?
A crisis developed in 1962 for many reasons. Firstly a crisis developed because of 2 reasons,
competition and Arms rivalry. Competition was events such as the arms race where both sides fought
to have bigger better weapons than the other side. They also competed against each other through
sport, trying to win the most Olympic gold s and competed by trying to influence peoples beliefs and
getting more people to support their ideology, either communism or capitalism. There was also Arms
rivalry which was similar as this was also competing for better weapons. This all contributed to a
crisis developing because they were both

The Late 1800s Wilmington North Carolina
At the end of the 1800s Wilmington North Carolina was a very active city which centered on its port.
At that time it was the largest city in North Carolina. They had a very large African American
population, only one third of the people in the city were not African American. Wilmington was
considered a great place for African Americans because they were thriving economically and involved
politically.
The late 1800s were a different time politically. In Wilmington there were three main political parties.
The first was the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party at that time was much different than the one
today. They were the original party that supported slavery. At one time they controlled most of the

Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid: Which Tenant Is Best in 2011?
By David V. Tran
There are 3 major drugstore chains in the US: Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. Below are some key
statistics about the 3 major drugstore chains as of July 2010: 1. Walgreens ranks #1 with market cap of
$29.33 Billion, $66.25 Billion in revenue, and S P rating of A+. According to Walgreens, 75% US
population lives within 3 miles from its stores. On Oct 1, 2009, Walgreens opened its 7000 th store in

This is a great present to the drugstore industry. There are new drugs to treat previously untreatable
illnesses, and new diseases, e.g. Viagra for men s unhappiness, Zoloft for depression, Avastin for
colon cancer, Herceptin for breast cancer, Nicotine patches for smokers to kick the habit, Tamiflu for a
potential bird flu pandemic, vaccine for swine (H1N1) flu pandemic, Tekturna/Rasilez for
hypertension and various new drugs for AIDS and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). The new
medicines are very expensive, e.g. a year s supply of Avastin costs about $55,000. Eli Lilly has sold
about $4.8 billion of Zyprexa in 2007 for schizophrenia and yet most people have never heard of this
medicine. There are existing drugs now approved to treat new illnesses and thus increase their sales
revenue. For example, Lyrica was originally intended to treat pain caused by nerve damage in people
with diabetes. It is now approved by FDA to treat Fibromyalgia which affects 5.8 million Americans
per WebMD. Big advances in genetics, biology and stem cells research are expected to produce a new
class of drugs to treat diabetes, Parkinson s and various rare genetic disorders. For example the new
drug Ilaris from Novartis targets genetic causes of an inherited disorder that there are only 7000
known cases worldwide. However, Novartis hopes to gradually broaden its drugs to a blockbuster
drug to more common disorders caused by similar genetics. Technology and modern life introduce and

Christianity, By Clive Staples Lewis
In Mere Christianity, Clive Staples Lewis, known as C.S Lewis known best for his writing, and being
a Christian apologist, divides the novel into 4 different section. Each book emphasizes the struggles he
has faced and overcome as well as personal life lessons he has learned. The first section, Right and
Wrong as a Clue to the Meaning of the Universe focus on moral law and the law of nature. Christians
Believe, second section, corresponds with his life because Lewis has had many interviews defending
his faith and studied the Bible thoroughly. In the third book, Christian Behaviour. It talks about all of
the different types of morals and behaviors Christians are called to follow because Lewis has studied
into Jesus s teaching he has a deeper understanding of what Jesus has called his followers to be.
Lastly, Beyond Personality: or First steps in the Doctrine of the Trinity, is about the first steps and the
process of becoming a Christian. Lewis went from an atheist to a highly Christian figure in the church
and believer society resulting into a lot of personal knowledge of the topics in his novel. C.S. Lewis s
life influences his writing in Mere Christianity through his ability to portray the foundation of
Christianity from the growth made from both his believer and non believer life, using the amount of
studies and research done defending the views of atheists and Christians, his studies in people and
Christian behavior, and finally how his intimate growth as a godly person

Special Education
From the first day a child is born, parents are there to nurture their child, to support them as they grow
and develop. There is a lot to learn about raising a child under normal circumstances, but when a child
has special needs parents must learn this whole new language of medical and special education terms
(Overton, 2005). Parents enter this new world where navigating for the best interest of their child is
riddled with challenges and obstacles that they need to somehow overcome. This is especially true
when parents are dealing with the special education program in their child s school.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires parental involvement in the
education of children with disabilities (Smith, Hilton, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What are these special needs, which qualify a student to be considered for special education? Firstly,
students with challenges in learning have to be considered. In a normal class, there could students who
find it hard to learn because of some reasons. Such students need specialized attention so that they are
not disadvantaged in the learning process.
When writing special education essays, it is also important to address the issue of communication
challenges. These challenges occurs because of poor proficiency in the language being used, thus
causing a communication barrier.
The commonest factor is physical disabilities. Students with disabilities require specialized education
for them to gain knowledge and become productive in the society. These disabilities may include
hearing and sight problems. They may also have deformed limbs, as a result of natural birth or
accidents. Additionally, students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders require
special education.

Brook Trout Possibility Study
Cool, you want to get Brook Trout I think I can help you learn what they need. Brook trout will need a
few things, so when you are starting your aquarium you will need to go shopping. First of all, trout
need 7 10 ppm oxygen to survive or they will get sluggish. You can buy an oxygen with an air pump
and an airstone to pump the oxygen in the tank. Trout also need food, I would recommend dry shrimp
and it has to be once a day, because of it easy and puffs up in the water. Next trout need clean water or
their tank will get polluted. Buy a water filter and clean their tank with new water 2 times a week.
Trout need a PH of a perfect 6.5 7.5. If the PH level is below 6.5 they will get sluggish and if the PH
level is higher 7.5 then they will

Human Relations Reflection
The Research in Human Relations course guided me in the application mindset of my studies.
Mindfully being able to break down information, from the statement of the issue to the analysis of
data, to even an appropriate outcome that is beneficial to a particular field of study, is what this course
promotes. Don Miguel Ruiz states in his novel, The Four Agreements, that we make different types of
assumptions simply because we do not have the courage to ask questions (Ruiz Mills, 1997, p. 68).
This course enables students to not only want to ask questions but also build on their incoming
knowledge with the tools to support giving back to the field and community. I long to give back
through the power of research in my given field, and upon taking this course I feel empowered to do
just that. The Research in HR course set a solid foundation for APA style writing, which has not only
benefitted me through graduate school but will continue to benefit me into my career path. Today, APA
Style sets the bar that is well respected in journals, books, and electronic databases (American
Psychological Association, 2012). I found this course beneficial because much like each of my other
courses, it further refined my skillsets for my pursuit of clinical administrative work and research on
autism and speech in the field of speech language pathology. Through each assignment, I became even
more critical of the research I consumed. Being able to produce solid sources to help push my field of

Advertisements involving smoking should be prohibited. Kids and teens that are the most
impressionable and easily influenced. Cigarette promotions make smoking appear harmless and cool
and have led to many kids under the age of 18 to have smoked for years. The advertisements on
quitting smoking and how bad they are for you may be effective for older viewers however many
teens and kids are drawn to cigarettes even more because adults are saying it is bad for you and it

Smoking cigarette s is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States,
including nearly 42,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. ( Fun Facts ) The first
Brand of cigarettes to become widely known was Bull Durham in 1868. Cigarette sales truly began in
1881 with the patent of the first cigarette rolling machine. Cigarette companies began looking for

Rayleigh Bïżœnard Fargination Problem
Rayleigh BĂ©nard convection problem involves an unstable temperature gradient driving the pertur
bations to grow for a single fluid or even a mixture of fluids without phase transformation. However,
when the mixture of fluids involve phase transformation, apart from the cooling experienced by the
parcel as it relaxes to the temperature of its surrounding, it also experiences the latent heat release or
absorption associated with the phase transformation. Troposphere, the convection dominated regime
of the atmosphere, has a temperature gradient of 70 K from 288 K at the surface to 222
K at the tropopause and the pressure also decreases exponentially with an e folding height of 7.64 km
the combined effect of both pressure and temperature implies the phase transformation of the water
vapor. A rising parcel of air can have phase transformation of water vapor to liquid droplets and ice
particles, and further, the liquid droplets and ice particles can also transform back to the vapor form.
One would expect the effect of phase transformation can be captured as a source/sink term in the
energy equation, but the intricacy of the system is furthered by the momentum driving characteristic of
the moisture present in the atmosphere.
**Buckingham Pi analysis of a moist system reveals two additional dimensionless numbers, Ra v and
Le apart from Ra T , P r and Re, appearing in a single phase natural convection problem. The
dimensionless parameters are Lewis number (Le), Prandtl number(P r), moisture driven Rayleigh
number (Ra v ), analogous to thermally driven Rayleigh number(Ra T ) and Reynolds number(Re).
Of these 5 dimensionless numbers, Le and P r capture the properties of the fluid, Ra T and Ra v
represents the surrounding conditions and Re represents the nature of resulting flow.**
In atmosphere owing to the wide variety of processes and further limited by our measurement
capabilities, phenomena at fine ranges are not always captured. And MTU Π chamber facilitates to the
investigation of this complex problem by a well controlled environment. A relevant example for our is
the isolation entrainment associated with the turbulence, thus ensuring the isomorphic nature of dry
and moist convection. To investigate the

Becoming A New Friend Group
Lindsay struggles to find her place in high school among the different crowds of cliches. Growing up
Lindsay was considered a good girl and now she wants to join a different social order, the burnouts.
She struggles to balance the old good girl while trying to form a new friendships with the burnouts. At
first the transfer from being a mathlete and friends with Millie to being friends with kids who are
known for skipping class is a little shaky. In a lot of ways I can compare to Lindsay especially getting
a new friend group. All my life my neighbor and I have been best friends; around freshman year he
started to hang more and more with this new group of kids, our school s infamous burnouts. I found
myself at a crossroad. I could either hang out with this new group of kids or the friend group I grew up
with since elementary school. I ended up with the burnouts just as Lindsay made the transition from so
called nerds to the rebel students. Just like my situation, first the transition was awkward and I
struggled to balance both sides but also had to also maintain my grades. Having friends who are
constantly wanting to skip and still being able to keep the A in Biology was a hard tribulation. Yes,
Lindsay and I are a like in many ways when it comes to our new choice in friends, but unlike Lindsay
I did not forsake my past. Lindsay made the decision to quit the mathlete club whereas I, never a
mathlete, continue to challenge myself with harder and harder classes. Lindsay

Construct Moral Principles That Transcend Time, Culture,...
Is it Possible to Construct Moral Principles that Transcend Time, Culture, and Context?
As we look for a new way to live our lives, we constantly look back to remind ourselves of the way
things used to be. Western culture as we know it today, did not start off as it is now, and it certainly is
not going to remain the same for very long. Many years ago families had moral values that served a
purpose in their lives. Women stayed at home and took care of the children while men s went to work
to provide the family. However, if you think about that today, you will be shocked and puzzled
because our moral values today cannot be compared with the values from other eras. Moral principles
change. But is it possible to construct moral principles that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, all religions tell us that basic morals every person must follow comprise of don t lie, don
t steal and never commit adultery. Universal morality exists. And one of them is Utilitarianism .
Utilitarianism theory states, that all the activities should be directed towards the accomplishment of
the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people. For example, a pharmaceutical company
released a drug that has been governmentally approved with known side effects because the drug is
able to help more people than are bothered by the minor side effects. Utilitarianism is a universal
moral principle that was and will be considered moral throughout most of the eras. In conclusion, it is
possible to construct moral principles that transcend time, culture and context. There must be
something that the whole world has to agree on. Otherwise, the whole world will fall apart. There
might be some rules that are slightly different in different place because they are just interpreted
differently. Moral principle like utilitarianism should be considered moral through most ears.
However, some morality can undergo a revolution within a generation. So is it possible that the people
of the 23rd Century will detect flaws in ours, the 21st? Well, let s wait and find

Marriage In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, a group of traveling pilgrims on their way from London
to Canterbury pass the time by telling each other stories and tales. A handful of the tales are on the
topic of marriage, most notably The Miller s Tale, The Wife of Bath s Tale and The Merchant s Tale.
The Miller talks about his wife and marriage poorly in his prologue and his tale is just as cynical. The
Wife of Bath reveals in her prologue that she has had five husbands, something that was frowned upon
then just as it still is in today s society. In her tale, the story sees the main character change his view
on his own marriage from a negative thing to something he cherishes. Finally, The Merchant s
prologue reveals that he, too, has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, The Miller says that there was quite an age difference between John and Alisoun, his wife,
and that John heeld hire narwe in cage , meaning that he held her in confinement (Chaucer 267).
Husbands having this type of control over their wives was not unique to this time period seeing as it
was the norm for many years to come. One part of the story describes what Alisoun is wearing and
how she looks. This section goes on for lines and lines and implies that women are only good for their
appearance. He also says that Alisoun is gent and smal , which can be translated to slender and
delicate while also revealing that she is merely eighteen years old (Chaucer 267). As the story goes on,
Nicholas is introduced. He professes his love for her and begs her to return the emotion. She declines
and he reacts negatively, to which Alisoun immediately changes her mind and returns his love. She
says that they can be together if they wait patiently and are secretive (Chaucer 268). Planning to cheat
on one s husband is not something that would be viewed positively in that time and this shows that
Alisoun, in a way, did not conform to the way that women were expected to act in marriages at the
time. Even though cheating has never been held to a high standard during any time period, having a
female character want to act unfaithfully to her husband can be seen as a good thing in terms of female
empowerment in The Miller s Tale.

Tension In Baz Luhrman s Romeo And Juliet
In the opening scenes of Romeo and Juliet Baz Luhrman uses camera shots, hidden symbols and a
quick introduction to capture the hatred and tension between the Montagues and Capulets. To give us
background information on the feuding families Luhrman begins the movie with a news reporter
broadcasting about Romeo and Juliet which is followed by a bunch of newspaper headlines about the
competitive families. A shot of the city is featured, depicting Capulet and Montague sky scrapers on
opposite sides of the road. The city shot and the newspaper articles give us the impression that the two
families, Montague and Capulets are enemies and are constantly rivalling and are mortal enemies. The
movie heads straight into the Montagues and Capulets unexpectedly meeting each other at a petrol
station. Before the fight begins the Montagues pull ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Overcoming Dental Implants
Have No Fear: How Dental Implants Are Well Worth Overcoming Dental Apprehension
Although a lot of people fear the dentist s office, when you know what s going to happen and all the
benefits you ll reap, it can be a lot less scary. Implants involve a few steps, mainly, making way for the
new teeth and putting in place the devices that will hold them secure and finally, popping those babies
in. When you consider the benefits, along with the simplicity of the process, there s really nothing to
fear.
Consider The Benefits
If going to the dentist for a procedure didn t make your life easier or improve it in a number of ways,
you might be left questioning whether or not you should do it. With implants, however, the advantages
are clear and abundant: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cleaning: Despite their strength and durability, implants need to be cleaned as meticulously and
regularly as the rest of your own natural teeth. The bacteria and inflammation accompanying plaque
build up threatens your artificial teeth, too, necessitating frequent brushing, flossing and rinsing.
2. Protecting: As strong as they are, implants are still vulnerable to injury, pressure and stress, so
always wear a mouth guard if you play sports, protect all your teeth by skipping hard candy and
chewing ice and talk to your dentist if you grind your teeth at night.
3. Living Healthy: Beyond the toothbrush, the way you live your life can have a negative impact on
your teeth, too. Smoking, eating too much sugar and not seeing your physician to keep on top of issues
involving the heart or diabetes may put your teeth at risk. Your teeth are simply an extension of the
rest of you and as such, require the preventative and proactive measures that contribute to total health
and wellness.
Despite your fear of going to the dentist, you understand the long term value of getting implants and
the immediate benefits they provide. This really motivates you to overcome your inhibitions and take
these steps needed to protect your oral health and put your best face forward with every

Palestine Water Changes
On May 4, 1948, the Middle East changed as we knew it. Israel had become an official nation in the
land where Palestinians once resided. Jewish people needed a place to reside after the persecution of
over six million Jews. The British government, because it was in control of Palestine, allowed the
Jewish people to reside in Palestine. This caused great tensions in the Middle East. In 1948 1949,
there was a war between Israel and the Arab states. This war resulted in 700,000 Palestinian refugees.
The Palestine Israel conflict has been in effect since May 15, 1948. In 1967, Israel controlled 78% of

Vancouver Bicycle Rental System Essay
In response to the research report, this draft outlines my basic blueprint to research bicycle rental
system. The research will lead to the recommendation of building a bicycle rental transportation
system in Vancouver.
Introduction
From today to the future year 2030, it is appropriate to estimate that Vancouver population will
increase by more than one million. Vancouver public transportation will hardly bear the pressure due
to the largely increase in population. Other than population pressure, the public transportation is
criticised by huge carbon emissions as well. For sharing the responsibility of Translink, it is necessary
to build the bicycle rental system as a supplement of sky train and bus.
The business idea is to establish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is foresee that in next 10 years, more and more people do not take the bus at peak times, but by bike
to avoid the crowds.
Our Public bicycle system is one of remote circulation model, the more the stations, the more people
use it. Thus, the revenue will increase. However, building station net works is the most difficult
problem the development of public bike system. If government will not sponsors this program, a
department or enterprise alone to establish rent houses is difficult to reach the economical of scale.
Therefore, the new business system will end result of high unsustainable costs.
For solving this problem, we should seek the cooperation from Vancouver government. Our
management team should formed by the Municipal Construction Commission, Public Transport Group
and all other relevant units. Urban management, traffic police, public transportation and communities
together selected stations address. All stations will located in sidewalks, parking lots, bus stations and
other public areas at a very low rent cost or even free.As the bicycle becoming an important
component of urban public transport part, the market orient mode will difficult to go through. Our
team explicitly proposed public bike should be implemented largely public operation. Public bike
rental system, hardware, software should be invested from the government budget.
To avoiding loss from stealing, our team will also cooperate with university of

Peoplehood Matrix In American Indians
In American Indian life, they believe their life is interconnected with the world, nature, and other
people. The idea of a peoplehood matrix runs deep in Indian culture, in this essay the Cherokee, which
is the holistic view of sacred history, language, ceremony, and homeland together. This holistic model
shapes the life of the American Indians and how their sense of being and relationship to their history is
strong and extremely valuable to them. This essay will try to explain how each aspect of the
peoplehood matrix is important and interconnected to each other and the life of the Native Americans.
History tells us where we have been and possibly where we are going. In Indian culture, the past is
just as important, if not important than the future because the past is what shaped them into what they
are today. For the Cherokee, they are an Iroquoian variant which says a lot about their history, even
deeper into their history is that they are made up of seven different clans. History is passed down
through stories and ceremonies, which is why language is so important. Through the passing along of
oral history, it was known to the Cherokees that they settled in the fertile lands along the rivers and
valleys if the Smokey Mountains for the abundant herbs and plants that grew and the many types of
game available to hunt. History shows that the Cherokees lived in four different settlements, lower,

Comparing Jonathan Edwards And Extreme Puritans
In order to achieve effectiveness within one s writing, the author must change the way the audience
views the piece. In the speeches, A Letter from Birmingham Jail written by Martin Luther King Jr. and
Sinners in the Hand of God written and spoken by Jonathan Edwards, an extreme Puritan, they both
dramatically affect the audience in a way that moves their perception. While scripting these pieces,
both authors have to use a multitude of stylistic techniques to achieve the effect they have been
longing for initially. Both King and Edwards use specific approaches to affect their audience, but in
order to get a more in depth perceptive one must analyze both pieces and their techniques.
In order to fully understand why Jonathan Edwards expresses concern among the other Puritans, one
must first fathom what an extreme Puritan is. During the American Revolution in the 1750 s, Jonathan
Edwards, an extreme Puritan, believed that no matter what anyone did, they were still considered
sinners who will eventually end up in hell. He went on to tell every Puritan that their path is straight to
hell unless they join him and become an extreme Puritan. Although people attended church on
Sundays, Edwards still expressed anger towards the Puritans. Obviously, an extreme Puritan like
Edwards, imperative the rest of the population to follow the rules of the government in order to
receive the gift of going to heaven.
Initially, Jonathan Edwards uses repetition to persuade his audience that God hates them unless they
follow Edwards extreme Puritan actions. He uses repetition to embroider the thought of going to hell
into all the Puritan s minds. Edwards repeats similar phrases involving the actions of burning in hell,
The God that holds you over the pit of hell... ...[S]ink and swiftly descend and plunge into the
bottomless gulf... (Edwards). He uses this specific strategy to move the audience s way of thinking
and make them worry. By saying phrases with the same meaning but different structure, ultimately
forces the audience to comprehend the announcement. Puritans began to adopt Edwards message, but
they comprehend it through fearing the wrath of God. Overall, Edwards uses repetition to affectively
force his way of extreme

On Tuesday, November 26, I critically listened to a sermon at The Word of Faith Christian Church

Pastor Stephens s topic for the day was everybody has a purpose. In this paper, I will critique Pastor
Stephens s sermon based on its introduction, body, delivery, conclusion and finally my overall reaction
to his speech. The reason for the speaker s sermon was to ensure his audience realizes their worth.

To enable better understanding Pastor Stephens s maintained good volume in speaking marking sure
we didn t have to strain to hear him. He also made the sermon very interactive asking a lot of question
and asked the views of his audience on an issue in order to engage them. He maintained good eye
contact and didn t use a lot of hand gestures so he didn t distract his audience from the topic. He used
spoke audaciously, he took risks in saying things that may or may not hurt people s feelings in order to
pass his point effectively. The speaker also made use of transition words this made his sermon
coherent.
The body of the sermon was mostly centralized on the purpose of each and every one of us in the
church, the saying everything happens for a reason and his view on it. He stated that every person in
the church has a particular purpose. He used the example of a human s body stating that every part of
the body has particular purposes. He went further to say in the body of Christ some of us maybe the
legs, the eyes, the mouth, and the eyes of the church.
He said every one of us has a purpose in the church as every part of our body has a particular task to
perform. He said those of us who are evangelist are the mouth of the church; he said those of us who
are givers are the hands of the church, and those of us who have the money to sponsor the movement
of the gospel around the world are the feet. This example made me and other audience member

Midsummer Night s Dream And Disney s Aladdin
There s different genres of movies, plays, and stories. Horror, fantasy, tragedy, comedy, romance,
mystery, etc. In these genres are different plots to each story, each ending differently. However the
stories all follow the same set of elements depending on its genre. These elements separate the genres
from each other, a happy ending doesn t occur in a tragedy but is seen in comedy. Romance can end in
a tragedy or with a happy ending. Modern or centuries old, each genre use these elements, whether the
writers realize it. For example, comedy has plenty of elements that are used, although not all are
applied but most are. Shakespeare s Midsummer Night s Dream and Disney s Aladdin are good
examples of this. In Midsummer Night s Dream, the story starts with Theseus, duke of Athens,
engaged to Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons. While preparing for their wedding, Theseus is
confronted by Egeus, who brings criticism about his daughter Hermia, who refuses his wishes to
marry Demetrius, for she is in love with Lysander. Egeus demands that either Hermia respects his
wishes or be punished by the Athenian law. While Hermia is in love with Lysander and vice versa,
Demetrius is in love with Hermia and ignores Helena, Hermia s childhood friend, unrequited love.

Strategic Human Resource Management is the joining of human resource activities and policies with

This approach is regarded as the simplest approach in analysing different SHRM. best practice is all
about utilising certain approaches to not only deliver superior results but to also consider sustainability

makes it easier for organisation s to recognise bad practices.
They are Best Practices , because the implementation of this approach aims at improving the
performance of the organisation through additional, accountability, compliance, transparency and risk
control.
The exact meaning of best practices have become so diverse that organisations often move away from
the uniformity of the meaning. It is easy for employees to lose their voice within the organisation
using this model, and also changes made may not be appropriate from one department of the
organisation to another.
Very few businesses adopt the best practice model because it is difficult and also takes too long to

employee perspective into account, they ignore national and organizational contexts. This approach is
crisis driven and actually has a poor track record. This approach has been

Healthy Foods That Cause Belly Fat
What s your waist to hip ratio? We often see this number thrown about in relation to what ratio is most
attractive to the opposite sex. But it s relevant for a much more important reason.
Even if you re not overweight, collecting more weight around your middle can spell trouble. In
general, a thicker waist can indicate a higher risk of heart disease, among other illnesses.
Health organizations recommend that a woman s waist size should remain under 35 inches for better
health and longevity. Meanwhile, men should remain under 40 inches.
As for the waist to hip ratio, women should strive to keep it below .85, while men should be under .9.

It can be difficult to eliminate, as an estimated 40% of foods produced with a sweetener use HFCS.
But if you want to get rid of belly fat, it s essential to read labels and limit or avoid it.
Where it s hiding: If you lay off the soda and cookies, you re good, right? Nope. Yogurt, salad

Trans Fats. You ll find trans fats in items that contain partially hydrogenated oils. Trans fats are an
excellent example of how things can go wrong even when you have the best intentions. For many
years, the ill effects of trans fats were largely unknown.
The founder of trans fats, Wilhelm Normann, actually made food more accessible when he created
them over 100 years ago. Partially hydrogenated oils made foods last longer, and it was cheaper than
animal sourced lard and tallow.
However, the truth is that trans fats and partially hydrogenated oils are among the very worst modern
inventions. This isn t opinion; even the FDA has plans to phase it out of our food supply by next year.
Let s hope it doesn t take too long.
Why? Because it causes heart attacks, plain and simple. The Harvard School of Public Health

Dennis Rodman Research Paper
Dennis Rodman is a basketball player who is known for his abnormal appearance. He dyes his hair
multiple colors, has piercings, tattoos, and much more. He is also known for his friendship with North
Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Considering Kim promotes to children, teens, and adults to hate
Americans, Dennis must have something special about him. Maybe it s that Dennis is so much more
unique then most people. It seems as society has made everyone similar, as if we re all in a loop. If
you don t act or dress a certain way then you re automatically an outcast. We almost have to follow
rules in order to fit in. Dennis Rodman discarded all these rules society made and decided to be
himself, to stand out from everyone else. Dennis rodman should

The Pros And Cons Of Cognitive Dissonance
We, the First Presidency...of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, solemnly proclaim that
marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God... This is the opening line in The Family: A
Proclamation to the World, given by former President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day
Saints (LDS), Gordon B. Hinckley, in September of 1995. This is one of the main doctrines in the
LDS faith. In light of the U.S. Supreme Court s ruling regarding the legalization of gay marriage in
2015, these two ideologies, what is socially acceptable versus the standards of the LDS faith, stand
contrary to one another. This contradiction causes what is known as cognitive dissonance. Many
people have noted that members of the LDS faith have felt this dissonance from society, but what
about those people of the LDS faith who identify as LGBT or experience same sex attraction on some
level? The more we identify the two things that oppose each other, the greater the cognitive
dissonance. I myself am a member of the LDS faith, I also experience same sex attraction (SSA). It is
easy for me to find moments in my life where I have felt cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance
is the distressing mental state caused by inconsistency between a person s two beliefs (Griffin 2014).
To put it simply, it is the uncomfortable feeling that we get when we choose to do something that we
know we should not. Examples of cognitive dissonance can be found in every aspect of life. An addict

The Hurricane Film Analysis
The Hurricane is a film by Norman Jewison. It is about Rubin Hurricane Carter, a black boxer
wrongfully convicted for the murders of three people in 1966. Two black men in a white car shot and
killed three people in the Lafayette Bar Grill. Carter and his black friend, John Artis, were arrested for
driving a white car and being black. The police assumed that Carter and Artis were guilty. The police
then asked two witnesses Bello and Bradley if Carter and Artis had shot at them. Both witnesses said
that Carter and Artis had not shot at them. Carter and Artis were both found innocent by a jury.
However, Bello had been the lookout for a robbery. A police officer promised Bello that if he claimed
that Carter and Artis were the suspects Bello would not be charged. ... Show more content on

Three life sentences were given to Carter and Artis. While in prison Carter received 90 days in solitary
confinement after refusing to wear the prison uniform. Eventually he complied and agreed to wear the
prison hospital s clothes. Almost 20 years later, Lesra Martin, a man living in Canada bought The
Sixteenth Round, a book written by Carter about his struggles. After reading the book Lesra convinced
three others Sam, Terry, and Lisa of Carter s innocence. Soon Lesra began to write letters to Carter,
later visiting him in prison. A year later Lesra, Sam, Terry, and Lisa moved near the prison Carter was
being held in in order to help prove his innocence. Lesra, Sam, Terry, and Lisa spoke with Carter s
lawyers and discovered new evidence that proved that his trial and arrest had been motivated by racial
prejudice. On November 8, 1985 a federal judge allowed the new evidence to be presented. After
reviewing the evidence, the judge released

The First Experiments Of Water Treatment
A plumber is an adventurer who traces leaky pipes to their source (Arthur Baer). We have all heard the
saying, The plumber protects the health of the nation , but what does that really mean? Plumbing has
been around since 6500 BC, maybe even longer. Ancient water wells were found in the Jezreel Valley,
which historians date to be thousands of years old. This was one of the first signs of plumbing in the
ancient world. The Ancient Greek civilizations evolved plumbing, being the first ones to use
underground clay pipes for water distribution and sanitation. They were also one of the first ones to
create and use flush toilets. The 54Roman Empire used indoor plumbing to get water to individuals
inside buildings and homes. Plumbing is responsible for bringing water to people, because people
cannot survive without water. as we got into the modern age, plumbing started to evolve. The first
experiments of water treatment were happening in the early modern age. This would enable the supply
of clean, potable water to everyone. Plumbers are now responsible for the maintenance and sanitation
of all water supply systems and treatment plants. Plumbing is one of the most important job in the
world because plumbers are responsible for providing clean healthy water needed to live, plumbers are
responsible for providing water efficiency needed to avoid the serious world water shortage and
plumbers also help provide a safe non polluted environment. Plumbing is one of the most

Why Ability Assessments Don t Cross Cultures
Patricia M. Greenfield University of California, Los Angeles
A central thesis of this article is that ability tests can be analyzed as items of symbolic culture. This
theoretical perspective, based in cultural psychology, provides psychological researchers and
clinicians with the tools to detect, correct, and avoid the cross cultural misunderstandings that
undermine the validity of ability tests applied outside their culture of origin. When testers use tests
developed in their own culture to test members of a different culture, testees often do not share the
presuppositions about values, knowledge, and communication implicitly assumed by the test. These ...

The thesis of this article is that IQ and other ability tests are based on social conventions in each of
these three cultural domains. These conventions are presupposed or assumed by a test and its tester.
However, for any test to function successfully, these conventions must also be shared by the
participants. If a test travels, so must the conventions on which it is based. Otherwise, cross cultural
misunderstanding results and validity is compromised. For a test to travel freely, its foundational
conventions must be universally understood by potential participants. In each of the three cultural
areas values, knowing, and communicating two or more foundational conventions are discussed. The

Relationships In D. H. Lawrence s Sons And Lovers
D.H. Lawrence s novel Sons and Lovers explores the significant family and companionate
relationships of early adulthood. Unfortunately, and possibly unbeknownst to Lawrence himself, the
relationships in the novel are often abusive, triangulated, and otherwise inappropriate. Many of these
distorted connections may stem from the unconscious and cyclical perceptions of love by the
characters. In D.H. Lawrence s novel, Sons and Lovers, each character s view of love is shaped by
observing his parents relationship, causing Mrs. Morel and her sons to perceive love as domination
over another person.
Gertrude s ill treatment of her husband and intense passion for her children originate from observing
her own parent s relationship. Even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When William first gets sick, the doctor describes the illness as pneumonia, and, he said, a peculiar
erysipelas, [a skin disease], which had started under the chin where the collar chafed, and was
spreading over the face . The fact that William s illness targeted his lungs and the area around his
throat alludes to death by strangulation, as he is pulled between his domineering mother and a fiancé
whom he wants to be able to love. Mrs. Morel mourns for her son, unaware of her role in his demise,
and she continues to perpetuate her love as dominance cycle with Paul.
Mrs. Morel imposes upon Paul s relationship with Miriam. Gertrude constantly tells Paul how
common Miriam is, and waits up late for him, like his wife, when he stays out late with Miriam, trying
to make him feel guilty. Paul even realizes at the end of the novel that his mother has been the root of
his failed relationships, and he asserts that I shall never meet the right woman while you live . Paul s
only means of freeing himself from his mother s dominance is to kill her, another dominating act
disguised as love, following Gertrude s path.
The two sons that Gertrude most loved and dominated also seem to feel that domination is true love,
thereby following in Gertrude s footsteps, both sons abusing their lovers. William as a child emits
some of the same sentiments as his mother when she was young.

In just one theory, Burton believed that melancholy could be prevented with a sufficient sleep, music, healthy diet, and consequential work , as well as having a balanced social life with friends and family. Moreover, in the period of 18th century, the theory of melancholia, which is linked to a Major Depressive Disorder, had become progressively more challenged by electrical and mechanical explanations; whereby, if a person exhibited a gloomy and dark state of mind it was also proved that the person gave way to a depleted state of energy loss (Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007). The term depression was derived from a Latin verb deprimere, to press down. Dated as far back to the 14th century, the term to depress meant to bring down in spirits or to conquer (AllDisease.org, 2011). Even though melancholia continued to be the leading diagnostic expression, depression increased its frequency (its usage of name) in the medical field and was a synonym by the end of its century. The DSM I (1952) (as cited in Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007) refers to depressive reaction and the DSM II (1968) (as cited in Girdlera Klatzkinb, 2007) depressive neurosis, as words that define an extreme reaction to an identifiable conflict or an internal circumstance (DSM, 2000). Being a young, single mother, she had to overcome difficult obstacles to get us to where we are today. Life was tough and there were many times where she just wanted to give up, but she was determined to turn her life around for the better. She ingrained a lifetime worth of advice into my head but it was her actions that taught me that the struggles I will face now will make me stronger in the end. As a senior in high school, my mother was the colonel of the drill team and was preparing for college when life threw a major curve ball her way. Once she realized she was pregnant with me, she had to change her lifestyle entirely. With no support, financially or emotionally from my father, my mother had to do it all on her own. This greatly affected my mother because even to this day she is still playing a role as both a mother and father figure, and has never complained or failed to follow through with any of her responsibilities. Raising me was especially hard for my mother because she lacked financial stability. There were times when she didn t even have enough money for a bottle of formula. Her parents allowed her to stay at home with them but she was required to pay rent in exchange for my grandmother babysitting me while she worked as receptionist at a local chemical plant. • 6. Isabel Allende Feminism Isabel Allende was born on August 2, 1942, in Lima, Peru, to TomĂĄs and Francisca Allende. Isabel Allende is the goddaughter of Salvador Allende, the first socialist president of Chile who was her father s cousin. Allende s father was a diplomat and deserted the family when Allende was just two years. Allende, her siblings, and mother then moved in with her grandfather in Chile. Allende remembers herself as a rebellious child during those years living with her grandfather. We lived in an affluent house with no money, (Allende, 14). My grandfather would pay for what was necessary but my mother did not even have the cash to buy us an ice cream. I wanted to be like my grandfather because my mother had a terrible life and he had all the privileges and the power and the freedom and the car I think that was the moment I started to rebel against all male authority: the police, the church, everything. (Allende 15). This empowering attitude that Allledne has is shown in most of her literary work such as The Storys of Eva Luna, House of Spirits, and Eva Luna. Allende grew up in an atmosphere where women were inferior to men and this is why Allende writes stories where the woman is strong and independent. To many readers, Allende comes across as a feminist and empowering author because most of Allende s work is about how women can succeed without the need of a man but don t get this wrong, Allende also is known for her romanticism in her stories specially on a Gift for a SweetHeart. The Stories of Eva Luna by Isabel Allende is a compilation of many short stories focusing on universal themes centering on human emotions. Gift for a Sweetheart is one of these stories which is about a man named Horacio Fortunato who falls desperately in love with a married woman named Patricia Zimmerman. Fortunato overcomes many defeats of both the monetary and emotional kind and through perseverance, he finally gains an audience by his true love. Anticipating from these abstract principles contributes to the following idea on: the differences placed upon discrimination amongst people of darker skin tone, and the serious health effects of these African American people. To many, health disparities amongst different races may appear like an extraneous matter. But, it has come to seriously affect the lives of African Americans. Williams (MMWR 2005, Williams 1995) noted that African Americans suffer a higher rate of health related issues. Today, African Americans still bear a disproportionate burden in disease morbidity, mortality, disability, and injury (MMWR 2005, Williams 1995). The shocking statement adds to the health issues they suffer: heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, which is a critical factor for African Americans. Additional findings from (Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips 1993) address how other factors such as: ones socioeconomic status (SES), race, and gender, concludes to the differences of health risks for individuals (Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips, 1993). How Relations between Superpowers Worsened between 1959 and the Summer of 1962 There are many reasons why relations between the superpowers worsened between 1959 and the summer of 1962. The USA and USSR were already enemies. This was because they both represented different ideas. The USA was capitalist, however, The USSR was communist whose beliefs clashed with Capitalism. Superpower relations were based on fear and suspicion. They both tried to restrict the influence of the other. In 1947 the Truman Doctrine was published by the US president Harry Truman. I think the most important factor in worsening relations was the changes in Cuba, If these had not taken place then Castro would not have eventually asked for help from the USSR and a war may not have taken place in Cuba. I think all the of things that took place more important though some were more than others. They all linked together and eventually caused a Cuban Missile crisis to take place in 1962. 2) Why did a crisis develop in 1962 about Cuba? A crisis developed in 1962 for many reasons. Firstly a crisis developed because of 2 reasons, competition and Arms rivalry. Competition was events such as the arms race where both sides fought to have bigger better weapons than the other side. They also competed against each other through sport, trying to win the most Olympic gold s and competed by trying to influence peoples beliefs and getting more people to support their ideology, either communism or capitalism. Each book emphasizes the struggles he has faced and overcome as well as personal life lessons he has learned. The first section, Right and Wrong as a Clue to the Meaning of the Universe focus on moral law and the law of nature. Christians Believe, second section, corresponds with his life because Lewis has had many interviews defending his faith and studied the Bible thoroughly. In the third book, Christian Behaviour. It talks about all of the different types of morals and behaviors Christians are called to follow because Lewis has studied into Jesus s teaching he has a deeper understanding of what Jesus has called his followers to be. Lastly, Beyond Personality: or First steps in the Doctrine of the Trinity, is about the first steps and the process of becoming a Christian. Lewis went from an atheist to a highly Christian figure in the church and believer society resulting into a lot of personal knowledge of the topics in his novel. C.S. Lewis s life influences his writing in Mere Christianity through his ability to portray the foundation of Christianity from the growth made from both his believer and non believer life, using the amount of studies and research done defending the views of atheists and Christians, his studies in people and Christian behavior, and finally how his intimate growth as a godly person ... Mindfully being able to break down information, from the statement of the issue to the analysis of data, to even an appropriate outcome that is beneficial to a particular field of study, is what this course promotes. Don Miguel Ruiz states in his novel, The Four Agreements, that we make different types of assumptions simply because we do not have the courage to ask questions (Ruiz Mills, 1997, p. 68). This course enables students to not only want to ask questions but also build on their incoming knowledge with the tools to support giving back to the field and community. I long to give back through the power of research in my given field, and upon taking this course I feel empowered to do just that. The Research in HR course set a solid foundation for APA style writing, which has not only benefitted me through graduate school but will continue to benefit me into my career path. • 17. Rayleigh Bïżœnard Fargination Problem Rayleigh BĂ©nard convection problem involves an unstable temperature gradient driving the pertur bations to grow for a single fluid or even a mixture of fluids without phase transformation. However, when the mixture of fluids involve phase transformation, apart from the cooling experienced by the parcel as it relaxes to the temperature of its surrounding, it also experiences the latent heat release or absorption associated with the phase transformation. Troposphere, the convection dominated regime of the atmosphere, has a temperature gradient of 70 K from 288 K at the surface to 222 K at the tropopause and the pressure also decreases exponentially with an e folding height of 7.64 km the combined effect of both pressure and temperature implies the phase transformation of the water vapor. A rising parcel of air can have phase transformation of water vapor to liquid droplets and ice particles, and further, the liquid droplets and ice particles can also transform back to the vapor form. One would expect the effect of phase transformation can be captured as a source/sink term in the energy equation, but the intricacy of the system is furthered by the momentum driving characteristic of the moisture present in the atmosphere. **Buckingham Pi analysis of a moist system reveals two additional dimensionless numbers, Ra v and Le apart from Ra T , P r and Re, appearing in a single phase natural convection problem. The dimensionless parameters are Lewis number (Le), Prandtl number(P r), moisture driven Rayleigh number (Ra v ), analogous to thermally driven Rayleigh number(Ra T ) and Reynolds number(Re). Of these 5 dimensionless numbers, Le and P r capture the properties of the fluid, Ra T and Ra v represents the surrounding conditions and Re represents the nature of resulting flow.** In atmosphere owing to the wide variety of processes and further limited by our measurement capabilities, phenomena at fine ranges are not always captured. And MTU Π chamber facilitates to the investigation of this complex problem by a well controlled environment. As we look for a new way to live our lives, we constantly look back to remind ourselves of the way things used to be. Many years ago families had moral values that served a purpose in their lives. Women stayed at home and took care of the children while men s went to work to provide the family. One part of the story describes what Alisoun is wearing and how she looks. This section goes on for lines and lines and implies that women are only good for their appearance. He also says that Alisoun is gent and smal , which can be translated to slender and delicate while also revealing that she is merely eighteen years old (Chaucer 267). Planning to cheat on one s husband is not something that would be viewed positively in that time and this shows that Alisoun, in a way, did not conform to the way that women were expected to act in marriages at the time. History tells us where we have been and possibly where we are going. In Indian culture, the past is just as important, if not important than the future because the past is what shaped them into what they are today. For the Cherokee, they are an Iroquoian variant which says a lot about their history, even deeper into their history is that they are made up of seven different clans. History is passed down through stories and ceremonies, which is why language is so important. Through the passing along of oral history, it was known to the Cherokees that they settled in the fertile lands along the rivers and valleys if the Smokey Mountains for the abundant herbs and plants that grew and the many types of game available to hunt. History shows that the Cherokees lived in four different settlements, lower, middle, valley and overkill, each with their characteristics that made them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Comparing Jonathan Edwards And Extreme Puritans In order to achieve effectiveness within one s writing, the author must change the way the audience views the piece. In the speeches, A Letter from Birmingham Jail written by Martin Luther King Jr. and Sinners in the Hand of God written and spoken by Jonathan Edwards, an extreme Puritan, they both dramatically affect the audience in a way that moves their perception. While scripting these pieces, both authors have to use a multitude of stylistic techniques to achieve the effect they have been longing for initially. Both King and Edwards use specific approaches to affect their audience, but in order to get a more in depth perceptive one must analyze both pieces and their techniques. In order to fully understand why Jonathan Edwards expresses concern among the other Puritans, one must first fathom what an extreme Puritan is. During the American Revolution in the 1750 s, Jonathan Edwards, an extreme Puritan, believed that no matter what anyone did, they were still considered sinners who will eventually end up in hell. He went on to tell every Puritan that their path is straight to hell unless they join him and become an extreme Puritan. Although people attended church on Sundays, Edwards still expressed anger towards the Puritans. Obviously, an extreme Puritan like Edwards, imperative the rest of the population to follow the rules of the government in order to receive the gift of going to heaven. Initially, Jonathan Edwards uses repetition to persuade his audience that God hates them unless they follow Edwards extreme Puritan actions. He uses repetition to embroider the thought of going to hell into all the Puritan s minds. Edwards repeats similar phrases involving the actions of burning in hell, The God that holds you over the pit of hell... ...[S]ink and swiftly descend and plunge into the bottomless gulf... (Edwards). He uses this specific strategy to move the audience s way of thinking and make them worry. By saying phrases with the same meaning but different structure, ultimately forces the audience to comprehend the announcement. Puritans began to adopt Edwards message, but they comprehend it through fearing the wrath of God. Overall, Edwards uses repetition to affectively force his way of extreme ... Horror, fantasy, tragedy, comedy, romance, mystery, etc. In these genres are different plots to each story, each ending differently. However the stories all follow the same set of elements depending on its genre. These elements separate the genres from each other, a happy ending doesn t occur in a tragedy but is seen in comedy. For example, comedy has plenty of elements that are used, although not all are applied but most are. Shakespeare s Midsummer Night s Dream and Disney s Aladdin are good examples of this. In light of the U.S. Supreme Court s ruling regarding the legalization of gay marriage in 2015, these two ideologies, what is socially acceptable versus the standards of the LDS faith, stand contrary to one another. This contradiction causes what is known as cognitive dissonance. Many people have noted that members of the LDS faith have felt this dissonance from society, but what about those people of the LDS faith who identify as LGBT or experience same sex attraction on some level? The more we identify the two things that oppose each other, the greater the cognitive dissonance. I myself am a member of the LDS faith, I also experience same sex attraction (SSA).
