Tupac Meaning
Interpretation of Life Goes On Tupac Shakur, in some people s opinion, was one of the greatest
rappers that s ever lived. Over a decade ago Tupac wrote an inspirational song named, Life goes on.
Life goes on, seems to be about the streets taking people s lives, and how even though you lose
someone, you can t waste time mourning because that not what the victim would want you to do; the
victim would want you to live your life because they are not coming back. The three stanzas in the
song gives the audience the feeling that Tupac has lost friend through death, jail, and soon his time to
die will come but he would not want any sad faces and tears, just happiness, because life goes on. In
verse one, the speaker seems to be describing walking through the hallways of prison for bail. Breath
Stinking/ in my jaws, implies that the artist had just awaken, was rushed, and didn t have any time to
brush his teeth because it was time for him to leave. After leaving the prison it seems as if he was
surrounded by loud people he knows that s filled with excitement because of his release from prison.
Then, ring, ring, ring, /quiet yawl/ incoming call, gives the audience ... Show more content on

telling his friend that although he s in jail for life, he will be looking out for his responsibilities, kids,

Implies there is risk that could lead to jail or death protecting his family from cheap man who will take

Social Hierarchy In The Middle Ages
Middling Problems
Kings are the ones who lead and conquer. Lords are the ones who rule and sit barking orders to the
lower classes. Knights are the ones who follow their code of honor, chivalry at its finest. Peasants are
the ones who work until their bodies give out just to provide for their family. These are words that
depicted the social hierarchy during the Middle Ages or rather, the Dark Ages. An age where not
everyone is given the chance to elevate to a new status, where the oppressed stays oppressed while the
aristocrats sits in their fine houses and live lavishly. But...only the men get to exercise their power, as
the women during this period lay dormant, sitting in their chairs as if they were just glorified display
pieces showcased by their husbands for all to see. It s even worse if they were peasants, as they were
only expected to give childbirth and care for the family while working out in the fields.
Meanwhile, in the current period, everyone is given a chance to increase their standing in life. Blood
inheritance holds little to no meaning anymore, only skill and talent will let you prosper in life. This
sounds like a good thing, but for me it feels like no change has happened at all. ... Show more content

The Black Death rattled the people s belief in God, and their faith in that they will be saved. Peasants
revolt at the unfair actions of the nobility. Uprisings occur because of foreign intervention. Basically,
the Medieval Period was a parade of, sorry for the word, fuck ups, one after another. The social
hierarchy is one of those. Peasants keep complaining and complaining about their situation, yet they
do not do anything about it. That s because of Manorialism. They depend too much on their lords for
food and lodging. But not voluntarily. They had no other choice, as they will starve to death in the
streets, homeless. They had no chance to improve their

Arguments Against Cult Freedom
Recently, there has been a lot of controversy pertaining to cults. A majority of people would like the
groups banned or restricted for a majority of reasons. The controversies are in regards to religious
freedom against potential danger. Religious cults are protected by our freedom of religion rights and
should be allowed to exist unless they involve harmful, destructive actions.
Cults are defined as unorthodoxed mainstream religious practices. The cult stereotype, characterizes
these religious bodies as being led by a charismatic leader and recruiting members through persuasion
and other types of manipulation (ProQuest Staff). It had been defined as a group of people who had
been brainwashed by a megalomaniacal persons who imposed severe ... Show more content on

When he and his followers arrived he began doing crazy things, such as splitting up families, forcing
manual labor, and sexually assaulting members. His worst and final act happened November 18, 1978,
when he felt his cult was threatened and beginning to falling apart. Jim Jones stated, So in my opinion
is that you be kind to your children and be kind to your seniors and take the potion like they used to in
ancient Greece and step over quietly, because we are not committing suicide; It s a revolutionary act.
We can t go back; they won t leave us alone (Bio.com Editors). Jones then forced his whole cult to
drink the Kool aid, which included cyanide, a deadly poison. Nine hundred nine people were killed in
all, including over two hundred children and babies. If anyone did not take the poison, they were shot.
Four people from the whole cult survived (Bio.com Editors).
There have been many cult attacks that target the general population of countries, states, or cities. The
Japanese cult, Aum Shinrikyo, poisoned the Tokyo subway system with a deadly nerve gas, sarin, in
1995 (Ignatius). This attack caused thirteen deaths and an astounding 6,252 injuries. Because there
was no law against manufactured poisonous gas, no suspects were prosecuted (Ignatius). It is scary
knowing, that a majority of cults have access to chemical and biological weapons that could kill
thousands. Cults are beginning to

Transverse Colon Volvulus
Volvulus is rotation of part of the intestine around its mesentry, causing a intestinal obstruction.
Colonic volvulus is not common cause of intestinal obstruction in the developed world. However
much more common in the developing world (6,7). High prevalence of volvulus are reported in the
Volvulus Belt of Africa, the Middle East, India, and Russia. In these regions, the average age is
younger than Western countries, ranging from 40 to 50 years and in generally better health (8). In the
United States, colonic volvulus accounts for 10 to 15% of all colon obstructions(9). The sigmoid colon
is most common site followed by caecum for volvulus. Transverse colon volvulus is an uncommon
cause of intestinal obstruction. Literature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Twisting of bowel commonly occurs along the mesenteric axis , resulting in venous obstruction and
eventually arterial compromise. Redundancy and non fixation of bowel are essential to form any type
of volvulus. The ascending and descending segments of the colon are not mobile , but the sigmoid
colon, caecum, and transverse colon are not fixed within the peritoneum, tethered by their mesentery.
This mobility contributes volvulus to occur at these locations. Thirty three to thirty five percent of
patients with volvulus of the transverse colon appear to have had a history of chronic constipation
which is either idiopathic or secondary to autonomic dysfunction (5) . In our patient chronic
constipations , laxative abuse and high fibre diet may be contributing for the transverse colon volvulus
. These conditions may predispose the elongation and chronic redundancy of the colon and its
mesentry, which favoure it to rotation. In our part of world , most of people are farmer and they eat
high fibre content diet, that may be reason for high incidence of volvulus. Honestely , it is difficult to
conclude the broad conclusions regarding the incidence of transverse colon volvulus in the adult
population due to the relatively small number of reported cases. Therefore, surgeon should be aware
of these unusal causes of large bowel obstruction to allow for early diagnosis and to facilitate better

Examples Of Contingent Liability
contingent liability A potential liability dependent upon some future event occurring or not occurring.
For example, a company is named as a defendant in a $1 million lawsuit. Does that mean the company
automatically has a liability of $1 million? What if the lawsuit has no merit and can easily be
defended? If it is probable that the company will lose and the amount can be estimated, a journal entry
is prepared to debit Loss from Lawsuit and to credit Lawsuit Payable. If it is possible but not probable
that the company will lose, the journal entry is not made but instead there will be a footnote
disclosure. If the lawsuit is remote (a nuisance suit without any merit), there is no need for a journal
entry and no need to disclose the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the company is certain that no units will be returned as defective, the company will have no liability
and no warranty expense.
Accountants will record a journal entry to report a liability on the balance sheet and a loss or expense
on the income statement only if the loss contingency is both probable and the amount can be
estimated.
If a contingent liability is possible (but not probable), no journal entry is needed. However, the
accountant must disclose the contingent liability and loss in the notes to the financial statements.
If a contingent liability is remote, then the accountant will not report the liability and loss and will not
disclose it.
Where is a contingent liability recorded?
A contingent liability that is both probable and the amount can be estimated is recorded as 1) an
expense or loss on the income statement, and 2) a liability on the balance sheet. As a result, a
contingent liability is also referred to as a loss contingency. Warranties are cited as a contingent
liability that meets both of the required conditions (probable and the amount can be estimated).
Warranties will be recorded at the time of a product s sale with a debit to Warranty Expense and a
credit to Warranty Liability.
A loss contingency which is possible but not probable, or the amount cannot be estimated, will not be
recorded in the accounts. Rather, it will be disclosed in the notes to the financial

Oncology Clinical Nurse Essay
Growing up, I have had to endure the loss of many family members to the devastating disease we all
know as cancer. My family history varies from the different types of the illness from lung cancer,
leukemia, breast cancer, ovarian, and so on. My mother and grandmothers on my mother s and father s
sides suffered from ovarian, leukemia, and breast cancer respectively. I have seen the horrible effects
it has on the victim and their families, and knowing that pain and grief personally, makes me believe
that I would be a great nurse in oncology. I want to help those going through what could be some of
the toughest times in their lives if not the toughest. An Oncology Clinical Nurse (OCN) is someone

Symbolism In The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne
As the last crimson tint of the birthmark that sole token of human imperfection faded from her cheek,
the parting breath of the now perfect woman passed into the atmosphere, and her soul, lingering a
moment near her husband, took its heavenward flight (Hawthorne 13). In 1843, Nathaniel Hawthorne
wrote The Birthmark, a tragic and unexpected short story. In the beginning of The Birthmark, Alymer,
a man of science, marries a young beautiful woman named Georgiana. One day Alymer noticed a
mark on Georgiana s cheek, and over time his obsession with the thought of removing it scientifically
caused the death of his wife. Therefore, in the short story The Birthmark, by Nathaniel Hawthorne,
Alymer pushes the scientific boundaries too far and his experiment is unjustified.
In the nineteenth century, the religion in America, was mainly Christianity. Before Christianity, there
were the Puritans, they believed that it was necessary to be in a covenant relationship with God in
order to redeem one from one s sinful condition, that God had chosen to reveal salvation through
preaching, and that the Holy Spirit was the energizing instrument of salvation (Britannica). The
Puritans also believed in predestination, which means God knew the future of the person the day they
were born. Predestination tied in with John Calvin s theory as well. After Puritanism and Calvinism
came along Christianity, which is more than a belief in Jesus Christ. This belief gives a structured

Censorship In 1984 And Today s North Korean Government
Censorship
Potter Stewart, an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, once said, Censorship reflects
a society s lack of confidence in itself ( Potter Stewart Quotes ). A well built, structured society can
tolerate dissent. On the other hand, some governments censors their citizens to suppress opposing
opinions. This is relevant to the novel 1984, by George Orwell, and today s North Korean government
as both countries use the same types of censorship to censor information and ideas and influence their
citizens opinions. In the novel, the totalitarian government, which is called the Party ruled by a god
like figure who is Big Brother, controls every aspect of human life ranging from action to thought.

It s a beautiful thing, the Destruction of words. Of course the great wastage is in the verbs and
adjectives, but there are hundreds of nouns that can be got rid of as well. It isn t only the synonyms;
there are also the antonyms. After all, what justification is there for a word, which is simply the

Our readings confirm Charles Taylor s belief that at the beginning of the era covered by our readings
in this unit, people believed themselves porous, but by the latest reading, people believed themselves
to be buffered selves. The following characters in each of the readings provide sufficient evidence to
confirm Taylor s belief: Hamlet is porous in Hamlet, Mr. Wickham is buffered in Pride and Prejudice,
Count Ugolino s sons are porous in Inferno, Pozdnischeff is buffered in The Kreutzer Sonata and Ivan
is buffered in The Death of Ivan Ilych. The characters of Count Ugolino s sons are porous because

whatever else I might agree to, this I could not think of doing (Tolstoy 103). He and his wife were
stubborn with each other and neither compromised very much for the good of their relationship. He
specifically states in this passage that he refuses to change his views and be influenced by the views of
his wife. He resists her views and controls what he is influenced by. These are some of the main

Explanation Of A Neural Network
First of all, we have encountered one major problem that is how to interpret a neural network given its
black box characteristics. We really wanted to try ourselves giving interpretation to our results so that
we dug into the existing literature and found out a very interesting research paper written by Garson in
1991. In « Illuminating the black box: a randomization approach for understanding variable
contributions in artificial neural networks », Olden and al. describes Garson s algorithm very
concisely so that we were able to create a user defined function on Python that replicates the method.
The interpretation of the method is provided below. The outputs of the different algorithms in the
context of our study are the following: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We don t know the influence direction of the variable (given the PCA black box transformation and
Garson s output) but we can formulate hypotheses on the fact that value companies tend to beat the
market more often than growth companies. Dividend yield and EVtoEBITDA that are our 2nd and 3rd
most relevant variables for Neural Nework output also support this previous fact high dividend yield
paying companies characterize generally value companies, while the EVtoEBITDA ratio characterize
the relative price of a company since it returns how many times an investor is willing to buy the
EBITDA (Earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of a company when he
purchases a share of the company. An investor that invests in high EVtoEBITDA companies has
generally good growth prospects views regarding the recurrent earnings of the company. Finally, the
factor size is the 4th most relevant factor that affects our output and this fact is also supported by
Fama and French literature: portfolios formed over small capitalization companies tend to out perform
portfolios formed over big capitalization companies over time. It is interesting to note that this feature
is an output of the

Adapting Culture Shock By Noah Webster

Dr. Andrea Bell
English 202
07 December 2014 Adapting To Culture Shock
According to Noah Webster, Culture means the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a
racial, religious, or social group also the characteristic features of everyday existence shared by people
in a place or time. When people accustomed to a particular culture enter a foreign land with different
practice, they are bound to experience cultural shock. Culture shock is personal incomprehension a
person may feel or experience when in an unfamiliar culture or way of life as a result of a visit to a
new place or immigration. It is most prominent among immigrants. As Paul Pederson has mentioned
in his book, It is a process that an individual undergoes in experiencing a new environment; it can be
categorized into five stages, the honeymoon stage, the disintegration stage, the reintegration stage, the
autonomy stage and the interdependence stage. And according to John J. Macionis and Linda Gerber,
The common problems associated with it are language barrier, generation gap, homesickness,
information overload, boredom, technology gap and cultural response ability among many others.
Cultural differences affect individuals differently. Therefore, there is no definite way of preventing
culture shock. Jhumpa Lahiri in her work The Namesake very beautifully depicts the journey of

Every single member of the cast kept spirits high, which in turn helped drive the show along. They,
also, did a marvelous job of keeping the illusion of the first time , portraying a clear pantomime to the
audience through nonverbal communication, and good inflection and volume. A good example of this
would be with actress, Katelyn Maudlin, throughout the performance she displayed high spirits
through her use of inflection and volume, all while keeping an illusion of the first time . Another actor
who did a marvelous job was Ben Elliot, who played John the Baptist/Judas, throughout the
production you could see the development of his characters ideas and mentality on subjects being
discussed. For instance, while singing On the Willows , Ben reached a moment at the end of the song
where he let his voice fall into a slight sob. I don t know if this was intending or he used this accident
for this intended use, either way this was most effective in revealing his stance on the crucifixion of
Jesus. All of these aspects of their acting, as a whole, helped keep the show alive and interesting to the
audience. However, some aspects of their acting lacked in a sense that threatened such effectiveness,
yet did not destroy the show altogether. Scene stealing, bad diction and articulation were identifiable
in the performance. Scene stealing was a major negative element that I saw, not only in some of the
chorus, but with some of the principle characters when it was not their main part. Though some of this
scene stealing could be due to an unequal balance of enthusiasm, thus diverting attention onto the
most enthusiastic actors and actresses, it was relevant enough to distract the audience from what they
should have been focusing on. Overall, The actors and actresses of Godspell did a wonderful job and

The main theological function of the plague narratives in Exodus is to bring about recognition of God

Therefore, the plague narrative also serves a function of demonstrating who Yahweh is to His own
people. Israel must also know Yahweh as we see in Exodus 10:2. Throughout the narrative, we see
many allusions to the Egyptian gods and the impotence of these gods before God of Israel.9 There are
multiple gods in the Egyptian temple. As an example, in the first plague, the Nile River was turned
into blood. The river was an important source of fertility to the land of Egypt. Thus, it was dedicated
to many gods (Osiris, Hapi, Sepek etc.) of the Egyptians.10 By turning the river into blood, it
eloquently reveals the power of Yahweh and the inferiority of Egyptian gods. For the Egyptians who
looked to various gods associated with the Nile, this event would have produced many questions for
their faith. Even the magicians had to acknowledge in the third plague that it is the finger of God as
they could not replicate it (Exod. 8:19). As for the Israelites, the plague narrative is a reminder of the
mighty and awesome power of God who had chosen them and kept His promise. A reminder that
would help to strengthen their faith in Him.
Each plague brings deeper knowledge and understanding of Yahweh. They are not simply acts of
judgment, but something that God uses to reveal Himself. Because they are more than just
punishments, they fail to actually secure Israel s release each time. As signs , they are used to

Brazil s Enigma: Sustaining Long Term Growth
Brazil prepares to take a new leap to grow more and better. To make our model more robust and open
in this new development cycle, we will incorporate a new word: competitiveness.1
Dilma Rousseff
On August 15, 2012, Dilma Rousseff, the president of Brazil, unveiled a new stimulus plan, aimed at
injecting up to R$133 billion (US$66 billion) into the economy by funding infrastructure
improvements to roads and railroads over a 25 year period. The Brazilian economy had stagnated to a

stagnation created concerns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rousseff also assured that increasing exports, particularly manufactured goods, would be a priority of
her government.5
Yet, by June 2011, industrial production growth had fallen to a weak 1.6%. As productivity began to
flat line, many critics worried about the nation s lack of competitiveness. The Brazilian government
struggled to define the best balance between exchange rate policy and monetary policy for economic
growth. Other challenges included the nation s poor infrastructure, high tax burden, and undeveloped
educational system, which produced a shortage of highly skilled employees6factors that together
were known as the Brazilian cost. Following the announcement of Brazil s new stimulus plan,
Rousseff became a focus of the international spotlight. Would Rousseff be able to maintain her triple
promise of targeting inflation, keeping the exchange rate flexible, and exercising fiscal restraint, while
still promoting greater exports and GDP growth?

Reconstruction Of Automobile Destruction Undertaken By...
Overview
The study, Reconstruction of Automobile Destruction undertaken by Loftus Palmer in 1974 consisted
of two experiments, these experiments were completed in order to test their hypothesis that the way in
which a question about an eyewitness testimony was asked can change the recollection of events
perceived by the witness . The study served to aid the argument that memory can be altered and
distorted when they subject is presented with new information that is given prior to the event. In order
to test their hypothesis, Loftus Palmer conducted two laboratory experiments; both experiments took
the design of an independent measures. The first experiment consisted of a group of 45 students who
were shown footage of car accidents, following each film questionnaires were answered. The critical
question from this questionnaire was in regards to the speed at which the car was travelling. In this
question the verb used to describe the actions changed, meaning this was the independent variable.
The results of this question varied depending on the verb used. With the highest mean speed being for
the word smashed and the lowest for the verb contacted . The dependent variable in this experiment
was the estimated mean speed.
The second experiment differed in that it had a sample size of 150 students, they were divided into
groups of 50. Again the groups were shown footage of car accidents however in this experiment one
group of 50 were asked how fast the cars were

For Tesco to set its goal and to satisfy all its stakeholders (customers, suppliers, employees, the
society) it is important to identify and analyse its five performance objectives. These objectives
consist of:
The quality objective: want to do things right
The quality objective for Tesco means that the operation manager makes sure of that the store
environment looks good so that it attract customers, and that they provide customer service. If Tesco
provides good customer service and makes sure of keeping the environment looking good, the
customers are more likely to come back instead of going to Tesco s competitors.
The quality inside the operation is also important. If someone makes a mistake within the operation,
time and money must be spent correcting this mistake.
If the operation have not reordered all the goods they need, this can lead to irritated customers and
lower revenue for the operation.
The speed objective: want to do things fast
The speed objectives is concerned with how long time it will take the customer to get to the store, buy
the product and arrive back home again. The customers would like to do this as quick as possible and
Tesco s operation managers should try to make this process quicker than its competitors.
Speed is also important inside the operation. If the movement of materials and information is not
quick enough, this could delay the process of serving the customers as quickly as possible.
The dependability objective: want

Capital Punishment And The Criminal Justice System
I once was a strong proponent of capital punishment, trusting the criminal justice system would do the
right thing. Moreover, I assumed that the justice system involved honest, ethical people all working
together for the good of all mankind. I often argued the need for capital punishment and believed that
it increases public safety, and acted as a deterrent to other would be heinous crimes and possibly saved
countless lives while acting as a deterrent. As faulty as this thinking may have seemed these were my
assumptions, and like most I truly believed in the criminal justice professional, after several years in
law enforcement I have learned that there are unethical, criminal justice professionals that use the

Orthodox Religion
Origin and founders
The Orthodox consider their origin to be the same as the Catholic origin. Their history is the same as
Catholic history as it is recorded in Acts of the Apostles, written by the apostle Luke. Their history
follows the Old testament, and they believe theirs is the church founded by Jesus (Shmeman). The
Orthodox church separated from the Catholic church after centuries of division and disagreements
between the two. The leaders of the Western and Eastern churches excommunicated each other in
1054, in addition to many other issues relating to politics as well as than theology. For the common
people, the rift began to form when the Western Church pillaged Constantinople during the fourth
crusade. The Patriarch of Antioch, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These 13 accepted autocephalous churches have the right to solve all their own problems internally
and to elect their own head bishops. They are separate yet they remain in communion with each other
through the sacraments and the canon (Roberson). The Patriarchate of Constantinople is recognized as
the primus inter pares , or first among equals. However, this title is one of honor rather than actual
supremacy over the other Patriarchates, unlike the Pope (Wikipedia). The Patriarchate of
Constantinople does assert that he is the only one who can grant autocephaly to a church. However,
this has not always been respected, so there are churches that were granted autocephaly by another
Patriarchate. There are four original eastern patriarchates: Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and
Jerusalem. There have been nine other churches who posses unchallenged autocephaly. There are
several churches whose autocephaly is disputed

A Summary Of Wilsonian Internationalism
Wilsonian Internationalism, also known as Liberal Internationalism, is a foreign policy ideology that
advocates for open communication between nations and solving international disputes using a strong
faith in the rule of law...and in the ability of dynamic democratic capitalism to spread prosperity to all
(Lecture A, Week 3). This ideology encouraged and reinforced a bond between countries to promote
peace, while still furthering economic success.
Woodrow Wilson was a strong proponent of justice and open understandings between countries, and
the term Wilsonian Internationalism was coined after this political and economic theory. In a speech to
Congress in 1917 called War Message , Wilson showcases his ideology after events in WWI forced
him to acknowledge the ever narrowing gap that was America s likelihood of staying out of the war. In
War Message , Wilson emphasizes that Germany endangers peace and understanding of the
international law which [should] be respected and observed upon the seas, where no nation had right
of dominion and where lay the free highways of the world (War Message, pp. 44). He argues that
when Germany sank ships that had no bearing to the war in the least, and breaking international law,
they were crafting a political world where democracy was not the foremost priority. Wilson used this
stance on Germany to propose entering the war on the grounds that threats to democracy to some, was
a threat to democracy of all, stating, the world must be

Which is why I decided to run the National History Challenge with the SIDE Year 9. I decided not to
make the challenge compulsory instead I focused on developing interest in the extra curriculum
activity amongst the Year 9 cohort. Around half of the Year 9s I taught at SIDE were referral students;
referral students come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a variety of physical, social and
cognitive disabilities. I really enjoyed the challenges of working with most of these students, however,
when a few of my referral students volunteered for the National History Challenge I was nervous, as
these were not students whom I would have selected for additional extra curriculum work. Most of
these students had high levels of anxiety and stress, which is why they were in the referral program,
consequently I had some concerns about the pressure the challenge might have placed on them. I
worked hard with these students, offering small group SABA classes to allow them to collaborate,
sharing their ideas and providing each other with constructive feedback. I also scheduled fortnightly
individual check in meetings where we discussed their progress and developed individual work
completion plans. Their interest and enthusiasm for their selected topics really reinforced how
important it is to set high expectations for all students regardless of circumstances.

Examples Of Improvisation In Drama
What is improvisation and how can it be used to create drama/theatre?
Jade Sullivan Extended response
Improvisation is a foundational style which is used to create ensembles, it is the art of being in a
scene/s with no preparation. Improvisation is used to Refine theatrical pieces, create ensemble, and
extend our own creativity. It forces us react imaginatively and immediately. Improvisation is used
effectively in the examples of Augusto Boal and his Theatre of the oppressed , the French company
Theatre Du Soliel and an example from my own experience in class.
Theatre Du Soleil is a French drama company that started in the 1960 s, it employs drama as the
means of making performance and mainly uses improvisations part of the process ... Show more

Using improvisation encourages play and spontaneous exchange of ideas/ process. It can be referred to
as an extension of child s play as it stimulates offspring of child s play and it forces us to react
imaginatively to offers; like a child might do in the playground. As a class, we have explored this idea
in a game we play called Space Jump , there are many alterations to the game but the general idea is
this; one student starts miming an everyday activity and is told to freeze. A second player then
volunteers to build another scene based on the frozen position of the first player. The original space
jump then gets played backwards. This game helps us as actors develop necessary improvisation skills
such as being able to accept offers, react to others and create ensemble. Games such as these, and
improvisation in general allows you to explore your physicality and abilities to present different
characters on the spot.
To conclude, improvisation can be used to creates ensemble, explore an individuals expressive
abilities, polish Individual or group performance, and to generate ideas. In the creation of theatre,
improvisation allows you to explore different personas/ life styles, and gives you the opportunity to
see the world through another person s eyes. Through the examples of Theatre Du Soliel, Boal and my
own class experience, improvisation is shown to

Essay about Three Main Approaches to Public Administration
The three approaches to public administration are political, managerial, and legal. In the political
approach, political authority is divided between a central government and the provincial or state
governments. This means that some provinces or states are accorded a substantial measure of
constitutional or legal sovereignty, although they still remain subordinates of the central government
in certain constitutional or legal respects. The political approach promotes the political values of
military strength, economic development, union, and representation. In addition, it is characterized by
three central features: state sovereignty, bicameralism, and multiple layers of representation. State
sovereignty means that the states would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the advantages of the managerial approach is that it enables the government to adapt to
regional or local conditions, especially given that the various regions in a large nation such as the
United States would likely have different physical characteristics in terms of their hydrology,
topography, and climate. In addition, a managerial or decentralized approach enables the government
to keep its span of control manageable, that is, the number of subordinates that report to an
administrative official is reduced. In turn, this enables an administrative official to more effectively
supervise their subordinates. Even with a decentralized approach, it may still be possible to implement
national guidelines to local conditions. In sum, the managerial approach promotes the managerial
values of economy, efficiency, responsiveness to clients and customers, and administrative
effectiveness.
Finally, the legal approach ensures that the entire nation is integrated or kept together by the
constitutional law despite the decentralization of administrative authority, which enables different
states and administrative units to impose different laws. In particular, it is possible for the autonomy of
the various administrative units to impede national economic development and to lead to the violation
of individual rights and standards of decency. In this regard, the

The Importance Of Race In Waking Up White
As a white individual that grew up in a predominantly white town, I rarely talked about race when I
was growing. The only time I typically talked about race was when we studied the Civil Rights
movement in school, and even then it was only talked about in a historical context. Consequently,
prior to this class, I assumed that race was a biological difference of skin color and genetics. I thought
that people of other races would have a larger difference in genetic make up because race was a
genetic difference race between individuals. I then saw society using this difference as a means to
belittle certain races and favor others. However, after taking this class my understanding of how we
define race has changed dramatically. This class has proven my assumptions wrong, and shown me
that race is not biological but rather a social and historical construct created to ensure a racial
hierarchy. Debby Irving s book Waking Up White: And Finding Myself in the Story of Race helped
me to see that I never talked about race because I am part of the dominant culture. While in her class
at Wheelock College, Irving s African American classmate spoke about how she had to talk about race
because she is treated differently because of it. (Irving, 2014).Like Irving, I have white privilege that
allows me to not have to talk about race. Consequently, I always assumed that racial differences were
due to genetic variation. I found out that this assumption was wrong when I started reading Waking

Joint Surveillance And Target Attack Radar System
Joint Surveillance and Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS/JSTARS)
SSG Koza, David
Class: 16 011
Joint Surveillance and Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS/JSTARS) is a multi functioning air
asset that is to assist airborne battle management, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. I will
briefly describe the aircraft capabilities and how they are used on the battlefield. I will also identify
significant historic event, how the Joint STARS have influenced Military intelligence, and the second
and third order effects. I will also talk about how Joint STARTS will continue to help the evolvement
and impacts it will have on Military intelligence. Joint STARS came from Army and Air Force
programs to develop, detect, located, and attack enemy forces at a range beyond forward operating
troops. Joint STARS E 8C modified Boeing 707 300 series commercial aircraft. The E 8C is equipped
with a multi mode radar, commutations, operations and control subsystems, and antenna. The radar
and computer subsystems can display battlefield information on ground troops in near real time. The
antenna is able to rotate 120 degrees and able to detect targets 155 miles away. In addition, the antenna
is limited to detect helicopters, rotating antennas, and even slow moving fixed wing aircraft. Joint
STARS was deployed during Desert Storm and specifically early on during the Battle of Khafji. The
Battle of Khafji took place during 28January1991 and 02February1991.

Communism was threatening to Americans post World War II...
Communism was threatening to Americans post World War II because its foundation contradicted the
ideology of democracy and capitalism that perpetuated the Western world for so long. Whether it was
foreign policy, democracy in action, or the red scare that happened right here at home, anti
communism sentiment was permeated almost all aspects of American life from the war s end to nearly
the end of the century.
The Communist threat started twenty years before World War II when Stalin took control over Russia
so rapidly with an ideology that was built upon coercion and control. Eventually the USSR would
grow into a powerful nation that was deemed a threat to the balance of world power. With the outbreak
of war in Europe, a temporary alliance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would be one of the earliest instances where any liberal sentiment towards communism would
not be tolerated and it would not end there. When Truman advocated aiding Greece during their civil
war, he made sure to underline the main reasons were to ensure democracy not communism would be
the only acceptable way of living and since There is no other country to which democratic Greece can
turn , America had to save the day. As the years went on, developments in Korea and China went in a
way that was not planned. Stalin however saw everything coming together and believed America was
losing ground. They are trying to offset these difficulties with the Marshall plan, the war in Korea,
frantic rearmament, and industrial militarization. But that is very much like a drowning man clutching
at a straw (Stalin). While statements like this gave the USSR a boost, it gave America a sense that
their national security was faltering and in turn any domestic reassurance was in limited supply.
The Red Scare dominated America beginning in 1947 with the Iron Curtain, Berlin Blockade, and
many others. In all these instances, people feared about national security both with the situation
abroad and right at home as well. When the Soviets successfully detonated an atomic bomb, it
coincided with China becoming another Communist threat and widespread hysteria in America.
Anyone that spoke or acted out differently was labeled a communist. A great example was

Descriptive Essay About The Airport
There I was in the airport of a country that I had only ever dreamed about going to with my heart
pounding so loud I thought the person down the corridor would be able to hear it. The first step
outside of the terminal made my eyes brighten as I gazed out at the country that I would be calling
home for 4 weeks. We said goodbye to our school group and hello to our new families. This was the
first time that I had been out of my comfort zone, to this extend anyway, so it was extremely daunting
and all I could remember thinking was I hope that they like me! My best friend and I had been
allocated to the same host family so it was a bit of relief knowing I had someone there with me. Piling
into the car it finally hit me that the next few weeks were going to test my abilities and comfort zone
but also I was going to experience one of the oldest cultures. It was a new adventure that I was going
to be able to experience with not only myself but my closest friend. Looking out of the car window on
our journey back to their home, my eyes darted around off the buildings, to the people and the traffic.
It was like something I had never seen before; there were cars zooming in every direction and the
buildings were breath taking. This city was nothing like I imagined, in fact it was better than I could
have dreamed. My grin stretched from ear to ear and I struggled to take in everything that this city had
to offer. If there was one reason why I took this trip, it was to get a better

Similarities Between Stamp Act Congress Declaration Of...
The Stamp Act Congress Declaration of Rights and Grievances was a petition to the king and the two
houses of Parliament asking for colonial position in the government if they were to be taxed. The
Declaration of Independence is a statement from the colonial government wishing to cut ties with
England and to be their own governing force. Both were, in a sense, documents that asked of England
to change their ways of governing the colonies. While both articles are mostly different in how they
ask for that change, there are some similarities in them culturally; even though they are years apart.
First, both of the documents call out the militia based courts set in place by the king. The Stamp Act
Congress states in title VII, That trial by jury is the inherent and invaluable right of every British
subject in these colonies (p. 90) and one of the grievances on why the colonies wish to succeed from
England in the Declaration of Independence is For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial
by Jury (p A69). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, both documents address England unlawfully taxing the colonies. The Stamp Act Congress
states That the only representatives of the people of these colonies are persons chosen therein by
themselves, and no taxes ever have been, or can be constitutionally imposed on them, but by their
respective legislatures (p. 90) and the Declaration of Independence states one of the reasons they had
made this specific document was For imposing Taxes on us without our consent (p A69). This shows
that even between the years both of these were written, the American colonies still believed in fighting
for taxation without representation. Lastly, both documents both state their angers for the Navigation

Building Online Evaluation System For The Athens Farmers...
First solution is building online evaluation system. Sometimes, lacking consumer service does not
means the vendors don t want to improve their services. The reason is the vendors cannot receive
advices from their consumers. Building online evaluation system can let consumers give some
feedback or vote for the vendors. The Athens Farmers market manager can build an evaluation system
on their website. Every consumers can go to the website and leave some feedbacks for the vendors.
Moreover, the consumers for the Athens farmers market can give a store for the vendors such as one
until 10. Consumers or managers can use the store to judge the vendors provide good consumer
services or not. The vendor who got highest store can get some reward from the Athens farmers
market. For example, the Athens farmers market give a poster for the best vendor. In the end of year,
the Athens farmers market give a decoration for the vendor who got most times reward. The poster can
help vendors attract consumer. On the other hand, it can help vendors improve their profits.
Consumers can also know which vendors provided bad consumer services. It will help consumers to
choose vendors. The income for the vendors will be affect by this evaluation system. This solution can
make vendors have passion to improve their consumer services, and it can help vendors to know some
judgements from their consumers.

  • 2. Tupac Meaning Interpretation of Life Goes On Tupac Shakur, in some people s opinion, was one of the greatest rappers that s ever lived. Over a decade ago Tupac wrote an inspirational song named, Life goes on. Life goes on, seems to be about the streets taking people s lives, and how even though you lose someone, you can t waste time mourning because that not what the victim would want you to do; the victim would want you to live your life because they are not coming back. The three stanzas in the song gives the audience the feeling that Tupac has lost friend through death, jail, and soon his time to die will come but he would not want any sad faces and tears, just happiness, because life goes on. In verse one, the speaker seems to be describing walking through the hallways of prison for bail. Breath Stinking/ in my jaws, implies that the artist had just awaken, was rushed, and didn t have any time to brush his teeth because it was time for him to leave. After leaving the prison it seems as if he was surrounded by loud people he knows that s filled with excitement because of his release from prison. • 3. Social Hierarchy In The Middle Ages Middling Problems Kings are the ones who lead and conquer. Lords are the ones who rule and sit barking orders to the lower classes. Knights are the ones who follow their code of honor, chivalry at its finest. Peasants are the ones who work until their bodies give out just to provide for their family. These are words that depicted the social hierarchy during the Middle Ages or rather, the Dark Ages. An age where not everyone is given the chance to elevate to a new status, where the oppressed stays oppressed while the aristocrats sits in their fine houses and live lavishly. But...only the men get to exercise their power, as the women during this period lay dormant, sitting in their chairs as if they were just glorified display pieces showcased by their husbands for all to see. It s even worse if they were peasants, as they were only expected to give childbirth and care for the family while working out in the fields. Meanwhile, in the current period, everyone is given a chance to increase their standing in life. Blood inheritance holds little to no meaning anymore, only skill and talent will let you prosper in life. This sounds like a good thing, but for me it feels like no change has happened at all. ... Uprisings occur because of foreign intervention. Basically, the Medieval Period was a parade of, sorry for the word, fuck ups, one after another. The social hierarchy is one of those. Peasants keep complaining and complaining about their situation, yet they do not do anything about it. That s because of Manorialism. They depend too much on their lords for food and lodging. But not voluntarily. They had no other choice, as they will starve to death in the streets, homeless. They had no chance to improve their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The controversies are in regards to religious freedom against potential danger. Religious cults are protected by our freedom of religion rights and should be allowed to exist unless they involve harmful, destructive actions. Cults are defined as unorthodoxed mainstream religious practices. His worst and final act happened November 18, 1978, when he felt his cult was threatened and beginning to falling apart. Jim Jones stated, So in my opinion is that you be kind to your children and be kind to your seniors and take the potion like they used to in ancient Greece and step over quietly, because we are not committing suicide; It s a revolutionary act. We can t go back; they won t leave us alone (Bio.com Editors). Jones then forced his whole cult to drink the Kool aid, which included cyanide, a deadly poison. Nine hundred nine people were killed in all, including over two hundred children and babies. If anyone did not take the poison, they were shot. Four people from the whole cult survived (Bio.com Editors). There have been many cult attacks that target the general population of countries, states, or cities. The Japanese cult, Aum Shinrikyo, poisoned the Tokyo subway system with a deadly nerve gas, sarin, in 1995 (Ignatius). This attack caused thirteen deaths and an astounding 6,252 injuries. Because there was no law against manufactured poisonous gas, no suspects were prosecuted (Ignatius). Twisting of bowel commonly occurs along the mesenteric axis , resulting in venous obstruction and eventually arterial compromise. Redundancy and non fixation of bowel are essential to form any type of volvulus. The ascending and descending segments of the colon are not mobile , but the sigmoid colon, caecum, and transverse colon are not fixed within the peritoneum, tethered by their mesentery. This mobility contributes volvulus to occur at these locations. Thirty three to thirty five percent of patients with volvulus of the transverse colon appear to have had a history of chronic constipation which is either idiopathic or secondary to autonomic dysfunction (5) . In our patient chronic constipations , laxative abuse and high fibre diet may be contributing for the transverse colon volvulus . These conditions may predispose the elongation and chronic redundancy of the colon and its mesentry, which favoure it to rotation. In our part of world , most of people are farmer and they eat high fibre content diet, that may be reason for high incidence of volvulus. Honestely , it is difficult to conclude the broad conclusions regarding the incidence of transverse colon volvulus in the adult population due to the relatively small number of reported cases. • 8. Symbolism In The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne As the last crimson tint of the birthmark that sole token of human imperfection faded from her cheek, the parting breath of the now perfect woman passed into the atmosphere, and her soul, lingering a moment near her husband, took its heavenward flight (Hawthorne 13). In 1843, Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote The Birthmark, a tragic and unexpected short story. In the beginning of The Birthmark, Alymer, a man of science, marries a young beautiful woman named Georgiana. One day Alymer noticed a mark on Georgiana s cheek, and over time his obsession with the thought of removing it scientifically caused the death of his wife. Therefore, in the short story The Birthmark, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Alymer pushes the scientific boundaries too far and his experiment is unjustified. In the nineteenth century, the religion in America, was mainly Christianity. Before Christianity, there were the Puritans, they believed that it was necessary to be in a covenant relationship with God in order to redeem one from one s sinful condition, that God had chosen to reveal salvation through preaching, and that the Holy Spirit was the energizing instrument of salvation (Britannica). The Puritans also believed in predestination, which means God knew the future of the person the day they were born. Predestination tied in with John Calvin s theory as well. The characters of Count Ugolino s sons are porous because they never blame their father for their terrible fate even though it is all his fault and they try to do what is best for their father when they are in prison. We really wanted to try ourselves giving interpretation to our results so that we dug into the existing literature and found out a very interesting research paper written by Garson in 1991. In « Illuminating the black box: a randomization approach for understanding variable contributions in artificial neural networks », Olden and al. describes Garson s algorithm very concisely so that we were able to create a user defined function on Python that replicates the method. Adapting Culture Shock By Noah Webster Mannat Shukla Dr. Andrea Bell English 202 07 December 2014 Adapting To Culture Shock According to Noah Webster, Culture means the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group also the characteristic features of everyday existence shared by people in a place or time. When people accustomed to a particular culture enter a foreign land with different practice, they are bound to experience cultural shock. Culture shock is personal incomprehension a person may feel or experience when in an unfamiliar culture or way of life as a result of a visit to a new place or immigration. It is most prominent among immigrants. As Paul Pederson has mentioned in his book, It is a process that an individual undergoes in experiencing a new environment; it can be categorized into five stages, the honeymoon stage, the disintegration stage, the reintegration stage, the autonomy stage and the interdependence stage. And according to John J. Macionis and Linda Gerber, The common problems associated with it are language barrier, generation gap, homesickness, information overload, boredom, technology gap and cultural response ability among many others. Cultural differences affect individuals differently. Therefore, there is no definite way of preventing culture shock. They, also, did a marvelous job of keeping the illusion of the first time , portraying a clear pantomime to the audience through nonverbal communication, and good inflection and volume. A good example of this would be with actress, Katelyn Maudlin, throughout the performance she displayed high spirits through her use of inflection and volume, all while keeping an illusion of the first time . Another actor who did a marvelous job was Ben Elliot, who played John the Baptist/Judas, throughout the production you could see the development of his characters ideas and mentality on subjects being discussed. For instance, while singing On the Willows , Ben reached a moment at the end of the song where he let his voice fall into a slight sob. I don t know if this was intending or he used this accident for this intended use, either way this was most effective in revealing his stance on the crucifixion of Jesus. All of these aspects of their acting, as a whole, helped keep the show alive and interesting to the audience. However, some aspects of their acting lacked in a sense that threatened such effectiveness, yet did not destroy the show altogether. Scene stealing, bad diction and articulation were identifiable in the performance. Scene stealing was a major negative element that I saw, not only in some of the chorus, but with some of the principle characters when it was not their main part. Though some of this scene stealing could be due to an unequal balance of enthusiasm, thus diverting attention onto the most enthusiastic actors and actresses, it was relevant enough to distract the audience from what they should have been focusing on. Therefore, the plague narrative also serves a function of demonstrating who Yahweh is to His own people. Israel must also know Yahweh as we see in Exodus 10:2. Throughout the narrative, we see many allusions to the Egyptian gods and the impotence of these gods before God of Israel.9 There are multiple gods in the Egyptian temple. As an example, in the first plague, the Nile River was turned into blood. The river was an important source of fertility to the land of Egypt. Thus, it was dedicated to many gods (Osiris, Hapi, Sepek etc.) of the Egyptians.10 By turning the river into blood, it eloquently reveals the power of Yahweh and the inferiority of Egyptian gods. For the Egyptians who looked to various gods associated with the Nile, this event would have produced many questions for their faith. Even the magicians had to acknowledge in the third plague that it is the finger of God as they could not replicate it (Exod. 8:19). As for the Israelites, the plague narrative is a reminder of the mighty and awesome power of God who had chosen them and kept His promise. A reminder that would help to strengthen their faith in Him. Each plague brings deeper knowledge and understanding of Yahweh. They are not simply acts of judgment, but something that God uses to reveal Himself. To make our model more robust and open in this new development cycle, we will incorporate a new word: competitiveness.1 Dilma Rousseff On August 15, 2012, Dilma Rousseff, the president of Brazil, unveiled a new stimulus plan, aimed at injecting up to R$133 billion (US$66 billion) into the economy by funding infrastructure improvements to roads and railroads over a 25 year period. The Brazilian government struggled to define the best balance between exchange rate policy and monetary policy for economic growth. Other challenges included the nation s poor infrastructure, high tax burden, and undeveloped educational system, which produced a shortage of highly skilled employees6factors that together were known as the Brazilian cost. Overview The study, Reconstruction of Automobile Destruction undertaken by Loftus Palmer in 1974 consisted of two experiments, these experiments were completed in order to test their hypothesis that the way in which a question about an eyewitness testimony was asked can change the recollection of events perceived by the witness . The study served to aid the argument that memory can be altered and distorted when they subject is presented with new information that is given prior to the event. In order to test their hypothesis, Loftus Palmer conducted two laboratory experiments; both experiments took the design of an independent measures. This ideology encouraged and reinforced a bond between countries to promote peace, while still furthering economic success. In a speech to Congress in 1917 called War Message , Wilson showcases his ideology after events in WWI forced him to acknowledge the ever narrowing gap that was America s likelihood of staying out of the war. In War Message , Wilson emphasizes that Germany endangers peace and understanding of the international law which [should] be respected and observed upon the seas, where no nation had right of dominion and where lay the free highways of the world (War Message, pp. 44). He argues that when Germany sank ships that had no bearing to the war in the least, and breaking international law, they were crafting a political world where democracy was not the foremost priority. One of the advantages of the managerial approach is that it enables the government to adapt to regional or local conditions, especially given that the various regions in a large nation such as the United States would likely have different physical characteristics in terms of their hydrology, topography, and climate. In addition, a managerial or decentralized approach enables the government to keep its span of control manageable, that is, the number of subordinates that report to an administrative official is reduced. In turn, this enables an administrative official to more effectively supervise their subordinates. Even with a decentralized approach, it may still be possible to implement national guidelines to local conditions. In sum, the managerial approach promotes the managerial values of economy, efficiency, responsiveness to clients and customers, and administrative effectiveness. Finally, the legal approach ensures that the entire nation is integrated or kept together by the constitutional law despite the decentralization of administrative authority, which enables different states and administrative units to impose different laws. In particular, it is possible for the autonomy of the various administrative units to impede national economic development and to lead to the violation of individual rights and standards of decency. The only time I typically talked about race was when we studied the Civil Rights movement in school, and even then it was only talked about in a historical context. Consequently, prior to this class, I assumed that race was a biological difference of skin color and genetics. I thought that people of other races would have a larger difference in genetic make up because race was a genetic difference race between individuals. I then saw society using this difference as a means to belittle certain races and favor others. However, after taking this class my understanding of how we define race has changed dramatically. This class has proven my assumptions wrong, and shown me that race is not biological but rather a social and historical construct created to ensure a racial hierarchy. Debby Irving s book Waking Up White: And Finding Myself in the Story of Race helped me to see that I never talked about race because I am part of the dominant culture.
