Norman Bates Character Analysis
Norman Bates is a middle aged man who is the owner of a not so popular motel along with his mother.
For many years Norman has lived alone with no friends, family, or even many visitors to keep him
company. But it was not like he was actively seeking out human interaction either, rather it seems as if
he has tried to avoid it. There are many examples of his antisocial tendencies, such as when mother
yells at him for not attracting people to the motel or doing his job: Why didn t you turn on the sign
when it got dark? And why aren t you up at the office where you belong? (Bloch 12 13). One would
expect the owner of motel to want people s business and do his job to make money, but Norman seems
like he is actiavely avoiding his duties on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately for Norman, this was the case of his mother s death. Throughout the whole passage
Norman appears to talking his mother, but in reality he is actually just talking to his other personality
who became his mother. This is known as dissociative identity disorder: a disorder characterized by
the presence of two or more distinct personality states. When his mother says I know what you re
thinking Norman. I know all about you, boy. More than you dream. But I know that, too what you
dream...That s why you never get rid of me, even if you really wanted to (Bloch 17 18). This is
reinforcing the fact that he is in fact not talking to his actual mother, but rather the personality he
developed in his mind after her passing. The only only way a momma s boy could cope with such a
traumatic incident is to act like she has never been gone. When Norman kills he thinks it is his mother
telling him to do that, but it really himself displacing all of his anger and frustrations on innocent
people because deep down he is still trying to get that affection from his mother, but it will never

Investigating The Specific Surface Of Clay And The Key...
Essay on Summary of two papers published to measure the specific surface of clay and the key
procedures involved.
Paper 1: Specific Surface: Determination and relevance
Authors: J. C. Santamarina, K. A. Klein, Y. H. Wang and E. Prencke
According to this paper, there are two methods used to determine the specific surface of clays:
1. Gas Adsorption (Dry conditions).
2. Absorption of molecules from solution onto a solid surface (Aqueous suspensions).
In addition to these, specific surface can also be calculated using known thermo dynamic properties,
microscopy, diffusiveness of X Rays, etc. But the paper focusses on the two methods mentioned
earlier.
Gas Adsorption methods:
This method uses the Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) gas ... Show more content on

Key Procedures involved are:
1. European Method:
Procedure is given by Kandhal and Parker (1998).
i. Preparation of MB solution. ii. Preparation of soil suspension. iii. Then after MB is added to the soil
suspension. iv. Whenever we add MB, the soil suspension is mixed and a drop is removed from
suspension.
v. End Point is said to be reached, when the unabsorbed MB forms a permanent blue halo around soil
aggregate spot. vi. Determination of specific surface is done from the amount of MB required to reach
the end point.
where N is no. of MB increments, Av is the Avogadro s number, AMB is area covered by one MB
molecule.
2. Titration:
The process of evaluating the absorbed MB used can be improved and made more precise by using
titration.
The titration curve is used to determine more accurate value of MB absorbed.
Procedure:
i. Mixing of oven dry specimen with deionized water. ii. This suspension is the =n continuously
mixed. iii. 5mL is removed from this suspension and placed in a test tube. This is the centrifuged. iv.
The remnant concentration of Mb is noted. (Spectrophotometer is used).
v. More Mb solution is then added. Repetition of previous steps. vi. A graph is plotted with Amount of
MB added v/s amount of absorbed MB. vii. At optimum point, the specific surface is computed from
amount of MB absorbed.

Female Scientists In The 1800 s Essay
During the 1800 s, there were not a lot of female scientists. Marie Curie became the first woman to
receive a nobel prize, and also the first to receive two of them. She was a Polish French physicist and
chemist who discovered two elements and was famous for her work with radioactivity. She got her
love of science from her father, a physics and mathematics teacher. She moved to Paris to further her
education and there met her future husband, Pierre Curie, and took his place at Sorbonne when he
passed away as the first women to hold that position. Those were not the only thing she accomplished
as a female scientist in the 1800 s. Marie paved the way for many more female scientists in the future.

When Henri Becquerel discovered radioactivity in 1896, it inspired Marie and Pierre to investigate it
further. They researched a lot of substances for any signs of radioactivity, and discovered something
that was more radioactive than uranium. They discovered radium, an element that damaged tissue, so
they used that to fight against cancer. They found that the mineral pitchblende was more radioactive
than uranium and concluded that it must contain other radioactive substances. From it they managed
to extract two previously unknown elements, polonium and radium, both more radioactive than
uranium (Nobel Media). These discoveries led to radium being used to treat cancer and other diseases,
and them getting their first Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903. After Pierre passed away, she continued
with her own studies. Marie successfully isolated radium and proved its existence. She also studied the
properties and compounds of these radioactive elements. She also documented the properties of the
radioactive elements and their compounds. Radioactive compounds became important as sources of
radiation in both scientific experiments and in the field of medicine, where they are used to treat
tumors (Nobel Media). This discovery led to the further development of X rays and her receiving her
second Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911. Marie Curie was the first woman ever to win two Nobel
Prizes in two fields and in multiple sciences, two incredible

Importance Of Abolition Of Child Labour
The effective abolition of child labour is one of the most urgent challenges of our time. Today, we
have a better grasp of the size and the shape of the problem. More than 200 million child labourers
worldwide, some 180 million are now suspected to be toiling in the worst forms of child labour those
activities that the global community has unanimously agreed are inexcusable under any circumstances
and must be eliminated without de lay. The persistence on such a scale of this violation of children s
basic human rights casts a shadow over us all. The past decade has seen an unprecedented
convergence of thought and action around this cause, in recognition of the fact that the abolition of
child labour is an issue at the heart of social and economic development and not at its margins. The
ILO s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) has, over its ten years of
existence, become the largest single technical cooperation programme of the Organization. The ILO
will mark the first World Day against Child Labour on 12 June 2002. The physiological damage from
exposure to different substances and work processes is relatively well known for adult workers,11 but
more needs to be learned about the short and long term effects of different types of work on girls and
boys of various ages and health status.12 Such understanding is needed in order to decide what types
of work to prohibit for children under the age of 18 and to plan for appropriate

Role Of A Woman Within Islam And Their Daily Source Of...
Women in Islam are constantly viewed, from the Western standpoint, as a suppressed culture. Though
this may be true to certain extents, such as not mixing in with the men at mosque, we can find that
generally, the Islamic woman is well respected and held in high regard. Women in Islam are; mothers,
sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi 4). Within this
research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islam and their daily source of happiness.
An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American
woman. In some aspects, an American woman may be in awe to learn the truth behind the Muslim
female world. For example, when a married American woman has a family to support and works to
provide income, this is to help her husband support their family together. Though in the Islamic world,
the female Muslim works for her own accord. Due to Islamic law, a woman may work to acquire
money, however her earnings are hers and hers only. If she chooses to help her husband support the
family with her earnings, she may do so (which is common practice).
Another common misconception when comparing an American woman to an Islamic woman would be
their appearances. The American woman typically strives to be the best looking one in the bunch,
show enough skin, but not too much skin. Put on enough makeup to cover blemishes and skin
problems. Wear the newest, hippest clothing they are allowed to

Crisis Communication Research Paper
Over the past couple of years public safety agencies have discovered the importance of crisis
communication; meaning that communication is key in crisis situations, whether it be the use of social
media or building strong rapport with the public. Understanding that viewing the public as an asset
instead of a burden can greatly improve the overall response in a crisis situation and lessen the burden
on public safety professionals.
Crisis Communication
Partnership with Public Understanding that the public is a vital part of crisis management is essential
for first responders. There are many misconceptions involving the public and their response to crisis;
one of these misconceptions is the thought that the public will panic if they are given ... Show more

For example they may broadcast that they are looking for an individual with certain characterises and
emphasis for people to stay away because said individual is dangerous. This allows people to be
vigilant of that person and at the same time help the police if they happen to come across said
individual.
Disadvantages of Social Media
Although social media has improves our rate of communication it is important to remember that it is
not flawless. One example is the age demographic, the older generation might not have twitter or
Facebook therefore, will not receive an agencies emergency post. At the same time the younger
generation (8 16 years) might not be interested in police agencies Facebook pages therefore, they will
also not receive an agencies emergency post.
The major flaw in the relationship between social media and police agencies it that they have to
establish a relationship. People have to physically like or follow a certain group on Facebook or
Twitter it is not automatic. A vast majority of people do not do this, for example the population of
Edmonton as of 2011 was 812,200 yet the amount of people who follow the Edmonton police service
on Facebook is only 89, 555 which equates to

Mississippi s Secession
Why some groups opposed Mississippi s secession was that those people didn t believe that it was
right to keep slaves, no one really minded it till after the American Civil War when people started to
realize that it was wrong to have slaves and that they should let them go and live a equals, but
Mississippi and a few other states didn t like this idea. So they decided to try and become their own
free country. People didn t like the idea of them separating just so that they could keep their salve so
they put it to a vote. It was the September elections where they allowed the delegates to join for this
momentous transmission. The unionists won with 57 percent of the votes, they thought that that would
ensure the separation would be voted down.

Essay On The Orphan Train
The Orphan Train was written by Christina Baker Kline. The story highlights orphaned children living
in New York s streets that were sent to other states via train for family placement. However, the
children during this time were more looked up as free labor. The Orphan Trains started in the 1850 s.
This story highlights the 1920 s and how the Children s Aid Society provided aid for orphaned
children, which was ever present as an estimated 30,000 children were homeless in New York city in
the 1850 s (Childrensaidsociety.org, n.d.). Molly Ayer and Vivian Daly are the main characters in the
book. Molly, a seventeen year old girl, is living with foster parents after her father died, and mother
turned to drugs and deemed unfit to care for Molly. Vivian is 91 years old. As the story progresses,
Vivian tells her life story as an orphaned child in 1929 after she and her family moved to Ellis Island,
New York from Ireland. Vivian was a product from the Orphan Train era, but managed to live a

Red Figure Technique ( Herakles And The Nemean Lion )
Although these two vessels, one in the Black figure technique (Theseus and the Minotaur) and the
other in Red figure technique (Herakles and the Nemean Lion), have very distinct styles and
techniques, they also have key similarities, that with closer analysis, reveal more about Greek values
than was originally known. Showing us how Greek art had not only developed over time, but also
providing an understanding as to why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular.
However, before we can begin to discuss why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so
popular, we must first explore the two vessels individually (without the artwork). Firstly, the Black
figure jar (Theseus and the Minotaur). With further research, we find the title of this work is, Attic
Black Figure Neck Amphora, and it is attributed to Group E (workshop of Exekias), dated
approximately 550 B.C.E. Athens, Greece. The medium is terracotta, and it is an amphora, meaning a
storage jar, most likely used to store wine or oil. Similarly, the Red figure jar (Herakles and the
Nemean Lion) was also made of terracotta, but instead of storing wine or oil, it is said to have been a
hydria, meaning it was more like a water pitcher. Titled the Attic Red Figure Kalpis , we find that the
artist was probably an Aegisthus painter, who lived in Athens, Greece, around 470 B.C.E. As
previously stated, both vessels were terracotta jars, however, in order to achieve the black figure, and

Is Jean Valjean A Hero
When most people hear hero they think of a knight in shining armor, who is absolutely perfect, and
has no flaws. Most heroes aren t criminals, or liars, or on the run. Yet the hero of Victor Hugo s Les
Miserables, Jean Valjean, is a convict who escaped from prison. The reason the reader routes for Jean
Valjean, even though he isn t the typical hero, is because they see his transformation, his choice to do
the right thing, and his selfless actions.
Jean Valjean shows growth throughout the novel, from a homeless, hopeless convict, to a beloved
character that is a respectable and selfless individual. When the novel opens has just left the gallows

men in a barricade, fully aware that he will probably now die in the war. When Jean Valjean realizes
how distraught Cosette is, he goes out to save Marius. At first glance, he risks his life for Marius, but
really he is risking his life for Cosette s happiness. Even after he willingly went into a life threatening
situation for Cossette, he continues to do selfless things for her and her now husband, Marius. Jean
Valjean realizes that if his identity is ever discovered Cosette and her new family will be in danger. So
he starts to distance himself from her, and this causes him great pain. For her own sake, he starts
making her call him Monsieur Jean, but she does not know why. One day she accidentally call him
father and he reprimands her to call him Jean, but not without turning away that she might not see him
wipe his tears. (372) It destroys Jean Valjean to separate himself from Cosette, but he does it out of

Taking a Look at Lutheranism
If you don t believe in God, you had better hope your right! All religions basically believe in one God.
Lutheranism is no exception, and as it just so happens it is very close to the Catholic religion I
practice. This paper will attempt to explain the Lutheran Church and how it came to be.
Martin Luther, a German monk, known to many as the Father of Reformation did not initially or
intentionally, start the Lutheran religion. However, his teachings became the cornerstone of what is
known today as the Lutheran Religion. Marting Luther was born in Germany in 1483, became a monk,
got ordained in 1507 then began to teach at the University of Wittenberg. Even though Martin Luther
was ordained in the Catholic Church he became torn as some ... Show more content on

If his right to grant remission in these cases were disregarded, the guilt would certainly remain
unforgiven.
2. God remits guilt to no one unless at the same time he humbles him in all things and makes him
submissive to the vicar, the priest.
3. The penitential canons are imposed only on the living, and, according to the canons themselves,
nothing should be imposed on the dying.
4. Therefore the Holy Spirit through the pope is kind to us insofar as the pope in his decrees always
makes exception of the article of death and of necessity.
http://www.biblestudytools.com/history/creeds confessions/luther 95 theses.html The gist of the
Theses were to protest, challenge and deny certain aspects of what was going on in the church. Martin
Luther s became very popular and as his ideas of reform became more and more popular, the Pope
threatened Luther to stop or face excommunication. Martin did not conform and in 1521 Martin was
excommunicated by the Pope. Hence the beginning of the Lutheran Religion. In the beginning people
did not initially want to be called Lutherans they like to be referred to as Evangelicals but their
opponents called them Lutheran s after the reformer Martin Luther, and the name stuck.
As far as the important rituals and sacraments in the Lutheran Church, many mimic the Catholic
Church. However the Lutheran Church only has two sacraments where the Catholic Church has seven

Keeping A Dialectic Journal Extremely Mind Opening
I found this experience of keeping a dialectic journal extremely mind opening. I had been keeping a
journal for a few weeks before this assignment began. For those who may not know a dialectic journal
is when for a set number of days a person free writes for a set amount of time, and then for an equal
number or days responds to what they wrote. My focus was supposed to be a tomato, but I quickly
realized that the tomato was only there to begin the conversation. I have always been a person who is
inside their head more often than not, which made some of the entries begin to come from a darker
room within my mind. When I started writing this journal I was okay with the assignment, and it was
fun to come up with the story of Alfredo. Soon after however, my entries started to get more and more
about myself. I jokingly write at one point that if this journal does not end in psych evaluation I did
not do my job correctly , little did I know that the depressive side of my mind would soon bring that
into a possibility. I have bipolar disorder and spend most of the last 4 days writing about it, I found
that putting words on paper helped somewhat. I also found that putting the words on paper became
easier as I wrote more

The Feminist Movement Of Bram Stoker s Dracula
In Victorian England, the feminist movement began to rise at an almost exponential rate. Women
started to have their voices heard and even had many of their causes argued for by some men. Among
these men was a lecturer by the name of Bram Stoker. Stoker spent years lecturing on and arguing for
feminist causes at the Philosophical Society. That is until the New Woman came about. The New
Woman was considered to be a new breed of woman, one that was almost inhuman or mutated, hence
the name. They believed in sexual freedom, the blurring of the distinction between the genders, and
their right to choose their path of life even when it went against what a man wished. Stoker then
claimed that these ideals were wrong and stated it very clearly ... Show more content on

From what is demonstrated in Dracula, Stoker clearly also believes that sexuality in a woman would
additionally lead to the downfall of men along with its immorality. Scenes such as when Jonathan is
with the female vampires in Dracula s castle represent a very literal incarnation of this belief. Jonathan
is awake when he hears the women vampires talk of taking him and taking his kisses . This causes
Jonathan to be very aroused and he anticipated what the vampires were going to do to him. Jonathan
does nothing to get out of the situation he was in despite the danger of it. He simply closed [his] eyes
in ecstacy and waited (Stoker, 43) If Dracula had not interrupted, the women would have taken
advantage of Jonathan and he would have either died or become a vampire. This alternate possible
ending to the scene would have mirrored Stoker s contraction of syphilis, which would have happened
around the time of his writing Dracula. At this time, Stoker had not had sexual interactions with his
wife for at least twenty, therefore, if one can assume his heterosexuality, he would have contracted
syphilis from some other woman who was sexually free and had seduced him into bed with her. This
clear parallel was Stoker s way of warning men against the evil of a sexually free woman. Stoker
would not have wanted to advocate a cause which would allow more evil women to

Strategic Planning Requires Hard Work And Dedication
Strategic planning requires hard work and dedication. Nothing can be effectively executed without a

Blankstein (2004) states that:
Addressing the core beliefs of an entire school community is a lengthy process. It is essential to be
sure to hold the line on behaviors and language that may conflict with organizational values and

Analysis On Data Security And Privacy
Introduction
The goal of our research paper is to provide a concise analysis on data security and privacy protection
issues pertaining to data and databases as well as the current advancement/ breakthrough made and
achieved in regards to database security and privacy concerns. We will also discuss in this paper some
current solutions in the security market. First, we looked at the a trusted database model which makes
it possible to shield database with absolute secrecy to benefit trusted equipment presented on the side
of server and made to work at the charge of any cryptography which permits private data handling on
a simple device.
Also, we looked into the problem of Enterprise Search Engines, How it gives out detailed aggregate
information about the enterprise which is a bridge in privacy and this is a big concern. Also review the
new technique that was proposed and used in analyzing the problem by suppressing sensitive
aggregate for enterprise search and still keeping it originality in answering users.
We will use another technique which is encrypting data with different encryption keys assigned to
each group this makes a challenge which is we would like to execute queries without revealing
information on the server mean while doing less computations on the client, some techniques
minimize the revealed information on the server and amount of computations on the client. We also
focus on investigating the operational model, database use in Rails.

The angle of incline of the propeller was an essential factor. The rudder size was also an influential
and key factor to this operation. Two rudders were made for the project, made of wood and coated in
nail polish as to prevent waterlogging. These rudders would then be attached to the ends of the boats
the objective being greater stability. There was a clear indicator of the best type of rudder since the
first test. The larger rudder by far allowed the boat to travel the fastest. As indicated on the chart
below (see figure 6), the larger rudder was quicker, on average, by .58 seconds. One reason as to why
may have been the fact the smaller rudder may have been crafted too small to make a difference. The
rudder was an important factor in the boats speeds. The testing procedures may have also been a factor
in the results collected. For testing one would release the boat while the other person would time how
long it took to reach the end. With every test that was conducted, the boat material would become
increasingly waterlogged, corrupting our data. The boats would not float in a straight line, thanks to
the time constraints one would have to nudge it in the correct direction to get accurate results. Overall,
the testing may have been flawed and possibly inaccurate. When deciding what the boat shape

Analyzing Fouquet s Character
Our character is Fouquet, a character with a casual, yet important personality. In the very beginning of
the book, Fouquet is not mentioned at all. It s not until Chapter 10 that he is even mentioned, and
becomes a character of importance in Chapter 11. From there on, he seems to hold a role in every
chapter. The book provides minimal descriptions of Fouquet s physical appearance, so we are only left
to infer most of the details. The first small detail that is given through the book, is in Chapter 10 on
page 88. Though not directly stated, we came to the conclusion that Fouquet is an older man. This is
also backed up by the fact that Fouquet is extremely wealthy (meaning he had more time to gain his
wealth). As for Fouquet s personality, details are almost always directly given. The most important
detail of his personality that plays a big role throughout the book is the fact that he is loyal to the king.
This aspect first shows up in Chapter 11, on page 93. In a conversation with Aramis, Fouquet reveals
that he views the king as sacred than ever and dear . Earlier in the conversation, Fouquet also states ...

known to signify loyalty. All in all, Fouquet s personality shows very well throughout the book; and
holds strong roles in his actions. Though his physical appearance is not directly mentioned, we believe
his personality is really what takes the greatest stance in Fouquet s role anyway. He remains humble

Genetic Modification By Miah Summary
Miah, an English bioethicist, academic and journalist, addresses the topic of genetic modification
through the processes and technologies used in cloning and genetic modification in things such as
food. The article discusses the potential threats that we may encounter when genetically modifying
humans. In addition, Miah explains that we, as humans, have been genetically modifying other aspects
of life, such as animals, for decades and that this technology is not new or unknown by humans.
Specifically focuses on genetic modification and how that can benefit athletes. The book makes a
strong comparison between the use of performance enhancement drugs, such as steroids, that have

How Mental Illness Affects Individuals, And The...
Studies show that one in four people in the world have been or will be affected with some type of
mental illness within their lifespan. Within this paper I plan to discuss what mental illness is, how
mental illness affects individuals, and the stereotypes that come along with mental illnesses. The
question I plan to answer would be How has mental illness been perceived and treated throughout
history? According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, mental illness is defined as being a
medical condition that disturbs a person s thinking, feeling, mood, and ability to relate to others
(NAMI). Serious mental illness cost America approximately 193.2 billion dollars in lost earnings each
year resulting in about 60 percent of adults and about one half of youth with mental illness to receive
no mental health services (NAMI). In the United Kingdom about half of the population is said to
experience some sort of mental illness in a year which leads to discrimination (MentalHealth). With so
many people in the world experiencing mental illness leads many to wonder how it is treated within
the different cultures. This paper will explore OCD, ADHD, and Autism and the causes of these
different types of mental illnesses. I will also discuss the treatment of these mental illnesses as well as
the stigmatization that comes along with these disorders across the multicultural system. Also the
concept of prejudice of mental illnesses along with the medical treatments and how they were

How Is Ethos Used In Advertising
There are millions of commercials. All of them have different audience and purpose. Advertisement
maker tries to convey audience to look at their point of view, which can be political, social or
convincing them to buy their product instead of others. According to the article Rhetoric and
Advertising more than 2,000 years ago the Aristotle came up with three different categories to
describe how people use rhetoric to persuade people: ethos, pathos and logos. Each of these terms
describes different way to try to reach an audience and convince them to agree with you. Pathos is an
appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional
response. Logos is an appeal to logic, and is a way of persuading an audience by reason. Ethos is an
appeal to ethics, and it is a means of convincing someone of the character or credibility of the
persuader. Many ad makers use 2 of 3 techniques in their ad. Commercial maker uses logos and ethos
a lot while making a commercial. For example, Luna commercial. Luna is a carpeting company who
installs new carpet in houses at the discounted prices. They always have a promotions going on which

Fingerprints Research Paper
The History of Fingerprints
Fingerprints offer a solid method for an individual s identification. This is the basis for clarification of
fingerprints and has since replaced techniques for identifying people who are reluctant to admit
previous arrests. (Moore, 2017) This essay will discuss the historical backdrop of fingerprints as a
science and timeline, the progression, and accomplishments.
The first known utilization of fingerprinting was in the fourteenth century Persia, where government
authorities utilized their fingerprints, similar to how signatures are utilized today.
In 1823, a professor of anatomy at the University of Breslau, Jan Evangelista Purkynä, published his

friction ridge is a raised segment of the epidermis on the Palmar or plantar skin, comprising of one or

framing a simulation informatics infrastructure in the academic environment are presented in this

The Approach to Outcomes
The initial step in the approach call for needs/resource appraisals: It is within this frame that the
realities of environment relevance and requirements must be considered. This may involve but not
limited to (not exhaustive listings) gathering relevant data to describe outfitting required in the
physical environment, supply inventory /requirements, technology capacities (system networking,

orientations, trainings. This is sometimes referred to as an academic environment transformation event
which will vary in scope and scale based on the appraisal of resources available. The human capital
aspect is essential to the simulation integration process for the purpose of aligning people with the
strategy. The key objective is to close skill gaps in strategic Simulation Center positions that allow

Spectrum Of Autism
Autism is one of the most common, yet misunderstood disorders of the modern age. Most Americans
do not have a clear understanding of possible causes, what Autism actually is nor possible cures or
treatments of this disorder. An incredibly important step towards the better understanding of this
disorder is having the basic facts available for the common man, presented in a way that is easy to
understand, and easier for parceling out in small components. The fundamental components of the
facts necessary to understand and potentially one day eliminate autism include, understanding what
the autistic spectrum is, what the possible causes of autism are, as well as past and present treatments.

One of the most studied is the idea of environmental issues causing Autism. Several metals, such as
mercury, lead, chromium and aluminum have been linked to cases of Autism around the world
(Mohamed, et al. U.S. National Library of Medicine) An unfortunate side effect of these findings was
the spread of misunderstanding of the ways that these environmental factors come into play with
Autism sufferers and led to the rise of individuals becoming concerned about links between vaccines
and Autism. While these links have since been debunked, they still are present and detract from actual
research in the environmental causes of Autism. Once the baseless speculation and confusion on what
are and are not environmental issues that can cause Autism are more widely published and have a
greater acceptance, scientists can focus on testing and experimentation on what we can do to either
nullify or remove harmful environmental factors. However, the idea of removing these heavy metals
has worked in some individuals with autism, but the success rate varies from case to case.

Contributions Of British Politics And The Liberal...
What have been the major contributions to British politics offered by the Liberal Democrats over the
last three decades?
The Liberal Democrats have played an active part in the world of British politics over the last thirty
years, in a variety of roles as a third party and as members of the conservative/liberal coalition. To
truly consider the major contributions of such a party it is necessary to consider the variety of
ideological and policy stances taken by the party and their effects on British politics. Stances for
consideration in this essay include the Liberal democrats strong stance on the protection of civil
liberties, internationalism and their approach to community politics.

Committed efforts to promote the EU by Clegg against the more eurosceptic narrative created by the
Conservatives would have contributed far more to the image of the European Union within British
politics, and could have affected the image of Europe during the referendum. This lack of commitment
during the coalition by the Liberal Democrats was heavily criticised by their ex leader Lord Ashdown
at the Centre Forum think tank when he questioned ... why has Britain s only truly internationalist
party ... abandoned our internationalism? (BBC News, 2012).
The Liberal Democrats are well known for their commitment to community politics, and in a political
landscape which is moving further and further towards a national policy focus this commitment is
arguably a major contribution. With many of the strongest periods for the party s local politics being
periods of otherwise decline, notable of which being the 1999 Eastbourne by election and the recent
22 (at time of writing) council seats gained under Farron since May, their moves towards community
politics could be seen as a ploy, however due to the strong party community campaigning heritage it is
difficult to see this as the case.

The Affect of Political Instability and Inflation on Pakistan
This paper issued by the State Bank of Pakistan talks about the affect of Political Instability and
Inflation on our country. Pakistan since independence has been a victim of political instability ranging
from political dismissals, cabinet changes or assassinations. This instability has had an adverse affect
on our policy formulation, implementation and effectiveness in terms of economic stabilization. Due
to an unstable political environment we are unable to implement a set of consistent and coherent
policies. This greatly affects the working of a government and reduces its ability to bear shocks which
ultimately cause a macroeconomic disequilibrium such as inflation.
The conventional view of political instability similar to the weak form Fiscal Theory Price Level is
that it leads to high inflation due to governments reliance on seigneiorage. However, this relationship
does not hold true for countries like Pakistan which are low or moderately inflated countries. In this
circumstance the predictions of strong form FTPL are more relevant in which price level is determined
irrespective of money growth. This is more pertinent when it is analyzed with the predictions of
Political Economy of Macroeconomic policy which contextualizes the price level determination
without money growth. However political instability is not considered to be a determinant for the
calculation of inflation. Inflation is rather considered as a monetary phenomenon.

The Murder Of Rapper Christopher Wallace
No one was ever charged in the murder of rapper Christopher Wallace, aka. Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie
Smalls, but I will show how a suspect would be tried if there were such a suspect. But first I would
like to point out that this trial would be a media circus. To begin with the suspect could more than
likely end up being one or more LAPD officers, a fact that the FBI has suggested in their report on
Wallace that was released in 2011 (Federal Bureauof Investigation , n.d.). Then there is the gang
aspect, Biggie had ties to the Crips, which he had reportedly hired to murder rival rapper Tupac
Shakur, who was himself a Blood, just six months prior to his own murder. Subsequently, since no one
has ever been formally charged in this case,I will try to use vague wording when referring to the
suspect, and I will refer to him by of name Mr. Murder Suspect . I use the masculine only because
there were no female suspects.
After Mr. Murder Suspect was charged in the murder of Cristopher Wallace, arrested, formally
charged at the first appearance, with the charges being upheld during the preliminary hearing, and then
formally arraigned, where he plead not guilty to all charges. Now the trial is set to begin.
(Schmalleger, 2014)

opening statements. Since the prosecution has the burden of proof as to the defendant s guilt, the
prosecutor s opening statement is given first. An

Computer Security And The Technology
Introduction: As time has gone on, society has advanced and the age of the computer came about,
bringing its own advantages and concerns. One such concern was the question of computer security
and personal information staying safe. It seems there has always been some form of computer security,
however this form is dynamic, always changing and advancing. This is due to the fact that the
technology that is made to bypass security is changing and advancing just as rapidly. Such as the
progression of DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks, in previous years the attacks had a
maximum of about 10 Gbit/s, whereas now they can exceed 300 Gbit/s (Shorov Kotenko, 2014). This
constant advancement created a never ending battle between cyber security and the technology that is
meant to break past the security in place. In the modern age computer networks are the focus of many
attacks on organizations, institutions, and infrastructure (Shorov Kotenko, 2014). As computer
technologies began to grow, the security of these computer systems started to play a bigger and bigger
role, and new factors came into play. One factor that completely changed security in concerns to
computers was the internet. Computers went from being arranged in an ad hoc manner to suddenly
being all connected over the internet. This brought about major security concerns because individuals
and organizations didn t want their sensitive and personal data in the hands of others.

This system was designed to capitalize on randomization and mobility while providing a modular
build design. The initial design and goal of the project was to develop a product that would increase
the effectiveness and the efficiency of current market technology to reduce damage to crops by
reducing habituation. Secondly, the objective of this project was to develop the prototype and
protocols into a useful system that can be scaled up for application at the end users level of skill.
Considering the target audience of farmers, who may not have a high level of understanding of
electrical and computer components, each component was designed to be easily set up and operated.
The ability of an average person to set up and configure the GPS system and the potential object
recognitions navigation system, which would make the robot fully and accurately autonomous, may be
a barrier. The use of in depth tutorials and visual aids may help some. However this may provide an
opportunity for developing a niche job market for qualified service representatives and field techs.

Blues Music In Sterling Brown s Ma Rainey
In Sterling Brown s Ma Rainey, Brown describes the significance of blues music in rural black
culture. Using dialect and rhythm, Brown manages to show the way blues music reaches its intended
audience without breaking from the language said audience would use to describe this. In this way,
Brown creates a poem which does not simply describe its subject, but celebrates it fully, and
associates itself not with white literature describing black Americans but with what could be called
black American literature. Brown s poem is in exactly the style Langston Hughes advocates for in The

The blues singer in Ma Rainey has an almost mystical quality to her as she manages to soothe
everyone for miles aroun (Brown, Stanza I, line 4) with her songs. Hughes mentions the richness jazz
and blues add to lower class black culture, and how the middle and upper class black Americans tend
to turn away from blues as a signifier of the race they wish to leave behind. Brown celebrates blues as
a way of connecting people, and of giving them something to hold onto as they battle the hardships
associated with not being white in America. While those who wish to be white spurn blues music as
too black, Brown proves in his poem that blues is an essential way of bringing people together. He
paints a picture of its immense impact when he describes the listeners crying together as Ma Rainey
sings. This, in turn, serves as a call to other black artists to stop trying to break away from their race,
as it invokes a sense of belonging. All the people who come watch Ma Rainey sing belong to a
community of rural black Americans, and from this community they do face adversity, yet scenes like
the one described in Ma Rainey show that there is also a positive takeaway from being a part of it. In
the earlier mentioned segment from the third stanza, Brown s use of direct address sets up Ma Rainey
as an omniscient, almost godlike figure. The speaker, and presumably the reader included in the
speaker s us, can look to her for solace amidst their struggle. Brown implies that those who look to
their own culture may find meaning in it, which speaks to Hughes invocation for artists to Let the

Paper 1: Specific Surface: Determination and relevance Authors: J. C. Santamarina, K. A. Klein, Y. H. Wang and E. Prencke According to this paper, there are two methods used to determine the specific surface of clays: 1. Gas Adsorption (Dry conditions). 2. Absorption of molecules from solution onto a solid surface (Aqueous suspensions). In addition to these, specific surface can also be calculated using known thermo dynamic properties, microscopy, diffusiveness of X Rays, etc. But the paper focusses on the two methods mentioned earlier. Whenever we add MB, the soil suspension is mixed and a drop is removed from suspension. v. End Point is said to be reached, when the unabsorbed MB forms a permanent blue halo around soil aggregate spot. vi. Determination of specific surface is done from the amount of MB required to reach the end point. where N is no. of MB increments, Av is the Avogadro s number, AMB is area covered by one MB molecule. 2. Titration: The process of evaluating the absorbed MB used can be improved and made more precise by using titration. The titration curve is used to determine more accurate value of MB absorbed. Procedure: i. Mixing of oven dry specimen with deionized water. ii. This suspension is the =n continuously mixed. iii. 5mL is removed from this suspension and placed in a test tube. This is the centrifuged. iv. The remnant concentration of Mb is noted. (Spectrophotometer is used). v. More Mb solution is then added. Repetition of previous steps. vi. A graph is plotted with Amount of MB added v/s amount of absorbed MB. vii. At optimum point, the specific surface is computed from amount of MB absorbed.

Marie Curie became the first woman to receive a nobel prize, and also the first to receive two of them. She was a Polish French physicist and chemist who discovered two elements and was famous for her work with radioactivity. She got her love of science from her father, a physics and mathematics teacher. She moved to Paris to further her education and there met her future husband, Pierre Curie, and took his place at Sorbonne when he passed away as the first women to hold that position. When Henri Becquerel discovered radioactivity in 1896, it inspired Marie and Pierre to investigate it further. They researched a lot of substances for any signs of radioactivity, and discovered something that was more radioactive than uranium. They discovered radium, an element that damaged tissue, so they used that to fight against cancer. They found that the mineral pitchblende was more radioactive than uranium and concluded that it must contain other radioactive substances. From it they managed to extract two previously unknown elements, polonium and radium, both more radioactive than uranium (Nobel Media). These discoveries led to radium being used to treat cancer and other diseases, and them getting their first Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903. After Pierre passed away, she continued with her own studies. Marie successfully isolated radium and proved its existence. She also studied the properties and compounds of these radioactive elements. She also documented the properties of the radioactive elements and their compounds. Radioactive compounds became important as sources of radiation in both scientific experiments and in the field of medicine, where they are used to treat tumors (Nobel Media). Today, we have a better grasp of the size and the shape of the problem. More than 200 million child labourers worldwide, some 180 million are now suspected to be toiling in the worst forms of child labour those activities that the global community has unanimously agreed are inexcusable under any circumstances and must be eliminated without de lay. The persistence on such a scale of this violation of children s basic human rights casts a shadow over us all. The past decade has seen an unprecedented convergence of thought and action around this cause, in recognition of the fact that the abolition of child labour is an issue at the heart of social and economic development and not at its margins. The ILO s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) has, over its ten years of existence, become the largest single technical cooperation programme of the Organization. The ILO will mark the first World Day against Child Labour on 12 June 2002. The physiological damage from exposure to different substances and work processes is relatively well known for adult workers,11 but more needs to be learned about the short and long term effects of different types of work on girls and boys of various ages and health status.12 Such understanding is needed in order to decide what types of work to prohibit for children under the age of 18 and to plan for appropriate ... • 7. Role Of A Woman Within Islam And Their Daily Source Of... Women in Islam are constantly viewed, from the Western standpoint, as a suppressed culture. Though this may be true to certain extents, such as not mixing in with the men at mosque, we can find that generally, the Islamic woman is well respected and held in high regard. Women in Islam are; mothers, sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi 4). Within this research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islam and their daily source of happiness. An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American woman. In some aspects, an American woman may be in awe to learn the truth behind the Muslim female world. For example, when a married American woman has a family to support and works to provide income, this is to help her husband support their family together. Though in the Islamic world, the female Muslim works for her own accord. Due to Islamic law, a woman may work to acquire money, however her earnings are hers and hers only. If she chooses to help her husband support the family with her earnings, she may do so (which is common practice). Another common misconception when comparing an American woman to an Islamic woman would be their appearances. The American woman typically strives to be the best looking one in the bunch, show enough skin, but not too much skin. Put on enough makeup to cover blemishes and skin problems. Showing us how Greek art had not only developed over time, but also providing an understanding as to why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular. However, before we can begin to discuss why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular, we must first explore the two vessels individually (without the artwork). Firstly, the Black figure jar (Theseus and the Minotaur). With further research, we find the title of this work is, Attic Black Figure Neck Amphora, and it is attributed to Group E (workshop of Exekias), dated approximately 550 B.C.E. Athens, Greece. The medium is terracotta, and it is an amphora, meaning a storage jar, most likely used to store wine or oil. Similarly, the Red figure jar (Herakles and the Nemean Lion) was also made of terracotta, but instead of storing wine or oil, it is said to have been a hydria, meaning it was more like a water pitcher. Titled the Attic Red Figure Kalpis , we find that the artist was probably an Aegisthus painter, who lived in Athens, Greece, around 470 B.C.E. This alternate possible ending to the scene would have mirrored Stoker s contraction of syphilis, which would have happened around the time of his writing Dracula. At this time, Stoker had not had sexual interactions with his wife for at least twenty, therefore, if one can assume his heterosexuality, he would have contracted syphilis from some other woman who was sexually free and had seduced him into bed with her. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, mental illness is defined as being a medical condition that disturbs a person s thinking, feeling, mood, and ability to relate to others (NAMI). Serious mental illness cost America approximately 193.2 billion dollars in lost earnings each year resulting in about 60 percent of adults and about one half of youth with mental illness to receive no mental health services (NAMI). In the United Kingdom about half of the population is said to experience some sort of mental illness in a year which leads to discrimination (MentalHealth). With so many people in the world experiencing mental illness leads many to wonder how it is treated within the different cultures. This paper will explore OCD, ADHD, and Autism and the causes of these different types of mental illnesses. I will also discuss the treatment of these mental illnesses as well as the stigmatization that comes along with these disorders across the multicultural system. Also the concept of prejudice of mental illnesses along with the medical treatments and how they were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. How Is Ethos Used In Advertising There are millions of commercials. All of them have different audience and purpose. Advertisement maker tries to convey audience to look at their point of view, which can be political, social or convincing them to buy their product instead of others. According to the article Rhetoric and Advertising more than 2,000 years ago the Aristotle came up with three different categories to describe how people use rhetoric to persuade people: ethos, pathos and logos. Each of these terms describes different way to try to reach an audience and convince them to agree with you. Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional response. Logos is an appeal to logic, and is a way of persuading an audience by reason. Ethos is an appeal to ethics, and it is a means of convincing someone of the character or credibility of the persuader. Many ad makers use 2 of 3 techniques in their ad. Commercial maker uses logos and ethos a lot while making a commercial. For example, Luna commercial. Luna is a carpeting company who installs new carpet in houses at the discounted prices. They always have a promotions going on which includes get carpet in 2 rooms and get the 3rd one for free, by doing this they are attracting customers, this is example of ethos. They also have a catchy audio which makes people remember their number (773 241 LUNA) this is an example of logos. They also have family who are dressed well talking about how good their ... The first known utilization of fingerprinting was in the fourteenth century Persia, where government authorities utilized their fingerprints, similar to how signatures are utilized today. Most Americans do not have a clear understanding of possible causes, what Autism actually is nor possible cures or treatments of this disorder. An incredibly important step towards the better understanding of this disorder is having the basic facts available for the common man, presented in a way that is easy to understand, and easier for parceling out in small components. The fundamental components of the facts necessary to understand and potentially one day eliminate autism include, understanding what the autistic spectrum is, what the possible causes of autism are, as well as past and present treatments. Several metals, such as mercury, lead, chromium and aluminum have been linked to cases of Autism around the world (Mohamed, et al. U.S. National Library of Medicine) An unfortunate side effect of these findings was the spread of misunderstanding of the ways that these environmental factors come into play with Autism sufferers and led to the rise of individuals becoming concerned about links between vaccines and Autism. While these links have since been debunked, they still are present and detract from actual research in the environmental causes of Autism. Once the baseless speculation and confusion on what are and are not environmental issues that can cause Autism are more widely published and have a greater acceptance, scientists can focus on testing and experimentation on what we can do to either nullify or remove harmful environmental factors. However, the idea of removing these heavy metals has worked in some individuals with autism, but the success rate varies from case to case. (McCandless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Liberal Democrats have played an active part in the world of British politics over the last thirty years, in a variety of roles as a third party and as members of the conservative/liberal coalition. To truly consider the major contributions of such a party it is necessary to consider the variety of ideological and policy stances taken by the party and their effects on British politics. The Liberal Democrats are well known for their commitment to community politics, and in a political landscape which is moving further and further towards a national policy focus this commitment is arguably a major contribution. With many of the strongest periods for the party s local politics being periods of otherwise decline, notable of which being the 1999 Eastbourne by election and the recent 22 (at time of writing) council seats gained under Farron since May, their moves towards community politics could be seen as a ploy, however due to the strong party community campaigning heritage it is difficult to see this as the case. • 32. The Affect of Political Instability and Inflation on Pakistan This paper issued by the State Bank of Pakistan talks about the affect of Political Instability and Inflation on our country. Pakistan since independence has been a victim of political instability ranging from political dismissals, cabinet changes or assassinations. This instability has had an adverse affect on our policy formulation, implementation and effectiveness in terms of economic stabilization. Due to an unstable political environment we are unable to implement a set of consistent and coherent policies. This greatly affects the working of a government and reduces its ability to bear shocks which ultimately cause a macroeconomic disequilibrium such as inflation. The conventional view of political instability similar to the weak form Fiscal Theory Price Level is that it leads to high inflation due to governments reliance on seigneiorage. However, this relationship does not hold true for countries like Pakistan which are low or moderately inflated countries. In this circumstance the predictions of strong form FTPL are more relevant in which price level is determined irrespective of money growth. This is more pertinent when it is analyzed with the predictions of Political Economy of Macroeconomic policy which contextualizes the price level determination without money growth. To begin with the suspect could more than likely end up being one or more LAPD officers, a fact that the FBI has suggested in their report on Wallace that was released in 2011 (Federal Bureauof Investigation , n.d.). Then there is the gang aspect, Biggie had ties to the Crips, which he had reportedly hired to murder rival rapper Tupac Shakur, who was himself a Blood, just six months prior to his own murder. One such concern was the question of computer security and personal information staying safe. It seems there has always been some form of computer security, however this form is dynamic, always changing and advancing. This is due to the fact that the technology that is made to bypass security is changing and advancing just as rapidly. Such as the progression of DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks, in previous years the attacks had a maximum of about 10 Gbit/s, whereas now they can exceed 300 Gbit/s (Shorov Kotenko, 2014). This constant advancement created a never ending battle between cyber security and the technology that is meant to break past the security in place. In the modern age computer networks are the focus of many attacks on organizations, institutions, and infrastructure (Shorov Kotenko, 2014). As computer technologies began to grow, the security of these computer systems started to play a bigger and bigger role, and new factors came into play. One factor that completely changed security in concerns to computers was the internet. Computers went from being arranged in an ad hoc manner to suddenly being all connected over the internet. This brought about major security concerns because individuals and organizations didn t want their sensitive and personal data in the hands of others. Many organizations began ... Using dialect and rhythm, Brown manages to show the way blues music reaches its intended audience without breaking from the language said audience would use to describe this. In this way, Brown creates a poem which does not simply describe its subject, but celebrates it fully, and associates itself not with white literature describing black Americans but with what could be called black American literature. Hughes mentions the richness jazz and blues add to lower class black culture, and how the middle and upper class black Americans tend to turn away from blues as a signifier of the race they wish to leave behind. Brown celebrates blues as a way of connecting people, and of giving them something to hold onto as they battle the hardships associated with not being white in America. While those who wish to be white spurn blues music as too black, Brown proves in his poem that blues is an essential way of bringing people together. He paints a picture of its immense impact when he describes the listeners crying together as Ma Rainey sings. This, in turn, serves as a call to other black artists to stop trying to break away from their race, as it invokes a sense of belonging. All the people who come watch Ma Rainey sing belong to a community of rural black Americans, and from this community they do face adversity, yet scenes like the one described in Ma Rainey show that there is also a positive takeaway from being a part of it.
