The Debate Between Pro Life And Pro Choice
With recent developments in Northern Irish legislation for on demand abortions , the debate
between pro life and pro choice has been thrown back into the media and the morality of abortion
scrutinized under the eye of third wave feminism, which has reclaimed the 1970 s slogan of The
Right to Choose . The following essay intends to discuss how abortionis always an option and
never a morally wrong act, as it is the mother s choice to do with her body what she wishes and
such the fetus has no right to leech off the mother when the host is not willing. In this discussion
one shall, as Thomson did in A Defence of Abortion (1971), accept the stance that a fetus is a
person from conception, to avoid that issue all together.
Autonomy is one of the main arguments presented by pro choice advocated, with the most extreme
form arguing that a woman has complete right over her own liberty and so should be allowed to
terminate her pregnancy whenever she wishes for whatever reason she wishes.
This obviously becomes an issue when the argument of trivial justification is discussed, such as
in the recent case of Josie Cunningham who had an abortion to have a nose job after she found
out it was not possible to go under general anesthetic while pregnant (Nagesh, 2015). This is a
case where for some it becomes hard to argue that this is a morally okay action, especially if it
assumed that she killed a person for aesthetic reasons. However, some may still argue that as a
rational human she

Examples Of Closed-Mindedness In The Water Is Wide
The novel, The Water is Wide , by Pat Conroy, tells a story about a man who seeks to do the right
thing for his students and is stopped at every turn by the closed mindedness of the very people
he s trying to help. The people who live on the island of Yamacraw exist within their own
personal bubble, and this bubble provides comfort and community to all those within it, but it is
all a lie. Throughout the novel, we are shown the results of being closed minded upon the people
who are ensnared by its grasp, and they clearly show how the illusion of safety and happiness that
being closed minded provides is one of the greatest betrayals in all of humanhistory.
There are two major examples of how closed mindedness is harmful to people In the beginning of
the novel, and the first of which would have to be the author s childhood because, as a child,
Conroy was an innocent racist who indulged in the torment of the black children who live near
him. He is never taught that such acts are wrong and would surely have grown up to become
another racist, southern stereotype if it weren t for one thing: college. College, and more
importantly, the people he meets there, is what sets him on the path he takes for the rest of his life
because it is there that his mind is opened to new ways of thinking that he never would have
otherwise experienced through his interaction with others from outside his cultural bubble. In this
fresh environment, his newfound slew of friends manage to make him see

Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau and the Internet
As young adults, we cannot recall a life without the web. The web is young because recently it
had its 25th anniversary. 25 years ago ,Tim Berners Lee and Robert Cailliau changed the world
forever. According to boutell.com, In 1989, while working at CERN (the European Organization
for Nuclear Research), both men made proposals for hypertext systems...And in late 1990 and early
1991, Tim Berners Leewrote the first web browser. These men started the technology phenomena,
but as time progressed, society started to become more advanced. People do not interact the
same with each other. As we move on forward, the definition of a friend is lost because of the
indecency of social media. The growth of social media causes people to question what a friend is
because people do not understand the difference between interacting face to face, rather than
socializing on the web. As more social media sites come to the market, people are social without
going out. The growth of social media causes people to think, act, and interact differently, causing
the meaning of friendshipto be lost, because of the growth of the web. Socializing digitally
contradicts socializing in the real world. Socializing digitally causes people to think differently
about their friends. The generation of today is not as social as the generation of the past. People
compete with each other based on their Facebook friend numbers, thinking it is a popularity contest.
The reality is that Facebook friends

Comparison Of Genesis, The Gospel, And Theistic Evolution
Genesis, the Gospel, and Theistic Evolution
Introduction
Humans have asked questions about their origin and their purpose on earth for eons. The Bible tells
humans that God created them and explains their purpose. However, since the Renaissance,
humanism answers questions about origins by naturalistic means and science has been redefined in
the process. Most institutions of higher education and many individuals have adopted the
naturalistic theory of evolution to explain human origin without considering its effects on faith. In
contrast to prevailing thought at Goshen College, a literal six day creation is foundational to the
Gospel message. Combining evolution and Christianity makes one s faith less logical and opens

Some theistic evolutionists prefer to be called evolutionary creationists. Most of the following
arguments against theistic evolution could also be applied to any combination of Christianity and
macroevolution (i.e. bacteria to human evolution), irregardless of its label.
Naturalism or Christianity as a Foundation for a System of Ethics
Theistic evolution meshes two worldviews, naturalism and Christianity, and each worldview lays
a foundation for a system of ethics and morality. Let us first examine more closely the foundation
laid by naturalism. Naturalism deifies chance. Random chance is responsible for life as we know
it. In The Beak of the Finch, evolutionist Jonathan Weiner writes, Natural selection leads to
evolution. He further explains that for natural selection to occur, the organisms most suited to
their environment will survive (1995, p. 128). The best adapted organisms are more likely to pass
on their genetic information while the less well adapted lose out in the great battle of life. Such a
view of origins establishes by extrapolation a moral and ethical foundation. If humans are only
products of chance evolution, they will naturally follow the instincts that have been ingrained in
them for millions of years. They will pass on their genetic information to as many offspring as
possible. Because they have gained great intelligence and

The Scientific Revolution Essay
During the Scientific Revolution scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes and Bacon
wrestled with questions about God, human aptitude, and the possibilities of understanding the
world. Eventually, the implications of the new scientific findings began to affect the way people
thought and behaved throughout Europe. Society began to question the authority of traditional
knowledge about the universe. This in turn, allowed them to question traditional views of the
state and social order. No longer was the world constructed as the somewhat simple Ptolemaic
Model suggested. The Earth for the first time became explicable and was no longer the center of
the universe. Many beliefs that had been held for hundreds of years now proved to be... Show more

The statement acts to justify his finding with the church and connect them to God. Copernicus
realized that the church would be quick to judge him, and possibly this is why he didn t publish
his theories until late in his life. His discoveries were not so much as important as were his
methods of observation and application of mathematics to explain the world. His methods of
discovery helped model the direction of science over the next hundred years.
Another important figure in the Scientific Revolution was Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian born
professor of mathematics who had a great interest in the workings of the universe. Galileo served as
a professor at the University of Padua, and it was during this time that he began to question the
accuracy of the Churches representation of the world. Galileo s approach towards knowledge was
much different then the afore mentioned Copernicus. Where as Copernicus presented his finding to
the mercy of the church, Galileo wrote his conclusions and left the Roman Catholic Church
interpret them as they chose. The very nature of his findings pitted him as an opponent of the
church.
The Earth was not the center of the universe. Galileo had seen far into the heavens with the
telescope he had designed and created an even more accurate mold of the universe. He trumpeted
his views everywhere, and condemned anyone who

The Importance Of Teacher Attrition In Education
Twenty three percent of teachers leave the teaching profession during their first five years of
teaching (Elisa Shernoff, Ane MarГn Мѓ ez Lora, Stacy Frazier, Lara Jakobsons, Marc Atkins,
Deborah Bonner, 2011, p. 465). Teaching has been a career before writing was established,
however there has never been such a high attrition rate in teaching. Attrition is defined as a
reduction in workforce without firing of personnel, as when workers resign or retire and are not
replaced (CITATION Dictionary .com). While the current flow of students training to become
teachers is still strong, novice teachers do not find enough encouragement in their first few years of
teaching to remain in the profession. Instead, their experiences cause them to feel discouraged and
disrespected to the point that they do not believe that teaching is where they belong. This crisis
regarding educationsustainability needs to be redefined to include the sustainability of teachers.
Sustaining future education relies on creating and hiring teachers who enjoy being part of a
learning environment. The use of student teaching, teacher collaboration, and less mandated
learning goals can lower the teacher attrition rate and sustain education. Also, although some people
believe that other resources are more important to sustain, education is going to be detrimental to
the success of future societies.
Student teaching can help lessen teacher attrition by giving the pre service teacher experience in a
classroom,

Describe The Relationship Between Organelles And Eukaryotes
a.
Firstly, the cytoskeleton is one of the many membrane bound organelles which is only found in
eukaryotic cells and not prokaryotic counterparts. The cytoskeleton is a series of proteins within the
cell which provides the cell with shape and support. The cytoskeleton also mediates some aspects of
movement by helping the cell move in its environment and by controlling the movement of other
cell components. A second organellewhich eukaryotes possess and prokaryotes do not possess
includes the Golgi apparatus. The Golgi apparatus initiates Golgi bodies towards modifying,
sorting, and packaging macromolecules for cell secretion (also known as exocytosis). The Golgi
bodies also modify and regulate proteins which are provided by the ER. In ... Show more content on

Some the evidence for this theory include the mitochondria and plastids which can be identified
in a eukaryot; however, prokaryotes originally also have the same functional capabilities as the
mitochondria, as well as plastids. Perhaps the mitochondria s development is simply a result of
condensing the process of energy creation into a single organelle and the development of plastids
was a result of prokaryotes also being capable of completing a similar task; however, felt the need

Legalization Of Marijuana Analysis
Marijuana is the dried leaves, flowers, stems, and seeds from the hemp plant, Cannabis Sativa.
Marijuana contains delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is responsible for the stimulation of
brain cells that release dopamine creating a feeling of happiness and excitement. Research and
experiments have proven that marijuana can have superb results on health issues. Marijuana can
be used to treat and prevent diseases such as glaucoma, seizures, decrease anxiety, minimize cancer
pains, and many more. A drug that causes temporary relief from problems that has never been
connected to overdoses is illegal in the United States because of two men, Harry Jacob Anslinger,

The legalization of marijuana will be beneficial in creating job opportunities, boosting tax
revenue, and reducing the number of arrests due to possession of the drug. The number of
people arrested for marijuana law violations in 2013 was 693,482 which costs the United States
more than $51,000,000,000 annually (Way, 2013). The governor of Colorado, John
Hickenlooper, in 2012 signed an executive order becoming the nation s first statewide vote to
end marijuana prohibition. Making recreational use and home cultivation of small amounts of
marijuana legal in the state of Colorado for adults 21 years of age and older. According to the
Colorado Center on Law and Policy amendment 64 will save the state $12 million in savings for
the year 2013 because of a deduction in criminal costs. Courts and prisons are seeing less
violations due to issues with marijuana so there is no need to spend as much of the tax payer s
money on them. Legalization of marijuana will not only benefit the states by reduced law
enforcement expenses but will also create jobs. Marijuana is a billion dollar industry that the
government is missing out on. With the legalization for the popular drug comes an abundance of
career options and job opportunities. There will be a need for companies that can make pipes,
bongs, vaporizers, papers and other products associated with weed which will then create job
openings. It will also create large amounts of profit and revenue from the sales tax that the
government could implement. On the market there will be a new product being produced and sold
increasing gross domestic product for the United States. It is expected that the legal use of
recreational marijuana could increase Washington State s tax revenue by $25 million by July of
2015, with an estimated $200 million increase by mid 2017, according to state economists

Examples Of Pride In King Lear
Lear s pride blinds him to the truth, but once he is able to see he achieves redemption. Lear s
pride is evident when he asks his daughters to praise and tell him how much they love him. Lear
intends to divide his kingdom among his three daughters, demands public declaration of their love
and asks them, Tell me, my daughters/ Which of you shall we say doth loveus most,/ That we our
largest bounty may extend/ Where nature doth with merit challenge (1.1.52 58). Lear wants his
daughters to express their admiration for him. His pride demands it. He will award the greatest
portion of his kingdom to the daughter who loves him most. Clearly, Lear wants to hear them say
that so he can be reminded of how powerful he is. Lear s self centered and arrogant

Switzerland is an independent country that has been able to maintain its neutrality, making them
honored by the major European powers. An interesting historical fact is that Switzerland was not
involved in either of the two World Wars. Switzerland s active role in many UN and international
organizations has been a positive strategy strengthening ties with its neighbors, but also letting them
retain a strong commitment to neutrality. However, Switzerlanddid not officially become a UN
member until 2002.

My Philosophy Statement Essay
My Philosophy Statement
In this philosophy statement you will not be reading the statement of a great philosophical mind,
but of an education student who loves to work with kids and who tries to have the students best
interest in mind. comparing and contrasting my views with the views of many of the philosophical
giants throughout history I will discuss five topics: 1.) the nature of students, 2.) the nature of
knowledge, 3.) the purpose of public education, 4.) the method of education, 5.) and the curriculum
that should be used in public schools.
Taking off on the topic of the nature of human beings we need to look back at our own childhood
and try to remember our actions, if not our thoughts. Pragmatist/Progressivists ... Show more

I also agree with the pragmatist/progressivists about the area of evolving knowledge. Throughout
our lives, and especially in our younger years, we develop different changes and experiences. For
instance, after sent to stand in the corner for the tenth time Billy finally realized that the action of
talking back to his mother had consequences.
My third topic, the purpose of education, has several areas in it that I am going to discuss, the first
being the general importance of education. Spring outlined many goals for education. The
prevention of teenage pregnancies, prevention of drug abuse, and the prevention of the spread of
sexually transmitted diseases were among the many goals. To achieve these goals I agree with the
pragmatist/progressivists that believe that we need to teach kids how to think and not what to
think. By teaching kids how to think we will allow them to see the consequences of their actions
and let them make the decision of whether they can handle the consequences or not. Today kids are
taught what to think and not how to think so they rebel to get out from under the control of their
authorities not seeing the consequences. For this reason education is very important, because it
allows students the opportunity to make educated and well founded judgments and decisions that
they may not have been able to make otherwise.
Continuing on with my third topic, I hope to accomplish several goals as a

The Causes Of The Opium War
Opium Wars The Opium Wars lasted from 1839 1860 and had a major effect on world affairs. The
dispute between Britain and China escalated throughout the years. In the mid 19th centuries, the
first Opium War was fought between the forces of Britain and the Qing Dynasty. The first war
began because of what Chinaand Britain did to each other to cause this war. The Chinese officials

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Communication
Communication is an ongoing complex process that brings all different types of people together.
Communication creates and rebuilds relationships which can last a lifetime. Even though,
communication could create strong bonds it could also destroy those bonds. When it comes to
communicating, everyone has their flaws as well as me. One of my flaws, when it comes to
communicating, is having the courage to speak my mindwithin important and necessary
conversations. When it comes to communicating, I tend to hold my tongue instead of expressing
how I truly feel. Even though I know that not all conversations need your opinion or advice, there
s still those conversations that do. There are certain reasons that I have decided to keep my
thoughts and feelings to myself while having conversations with others: fear that the way others
perception of me would change negatively, fear of not knowing how they will respond or accept
and the fear of leaving my stuff vulnerable in front of someone that could possibly hurt me
mentally and emotionally. I have yet to figure out what should be said at the appropriate time, so I
rather just keep my thoughts and comments to myself because I cannot do any harm if I m quiet.
My interaction with people has labeled me as someone that continues to Sugar Coat because of the
reasons I listed above. Nevertheless, I had multiple conversations with family, friends and
acquaintances about how difficult it has been to have conversations with me because it

Comedy Theories
According to the Oxford dictionary Humor, is defined as: The quality of being amustic or
comic, especially as expressed in literature or speech, but what truly makes something funny?
Comedy has been around for hundreds of years; as it is being examined four concrete theories
have been developed to understand the idea of comedy: Superiority, Relief, incongruity, and
Benign Violation theory. The conception of comedy has been around since the dawn of man;
Aristophanes wrote comic plays dating back to 425 BCE, but as time progress so does comedy.
The jokes and comics we see today have changed drastically since then, and have evolved into a
new style of humor. Comedy is used by writers, playwrights, and everyday people to make life
more enjoyable and cause the greatest feeling to man... Laughter. The first theory otherwise
known as Superiority theory, is the idea that people laugh at the misfortune of others. When
people make a group of peers laugh it adds a sense of, sudden glory, to a person and allows
people to feel dominant. The bases of superiority theory is people thrive for dominance and can
use laughter to win dominance by getting everyone to admire or follow a person; by seeing
someone else have a joke played on a person makes people feel better or superior. According to
Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, this theory holds two claims: the strong claim holds that
humor involves a feelings of superiority, and the weak claim suggest that feelings of superiority

The engagement in activities is a very special part of being human. According to (framework),
activities are defined as Actions designed and selected to support the development of performance
skills and performance patterns to enhance occupational engagement (AOTA, 2014, pg. S30). My
group and I recently had the honor of completing two different activities with the life skills
students, at the Wyoming Valley West Middle School in Kingston, Pennsylvania. The activities that
we completed with the children were pumpkinpainting, and completing a Halloween mask. The
purpose of these activities were to show how an Occupation Therapy practitioner can work with
children who have intellectual and physical disabilities, and understand their emotional and social
needs, in a classroom setting. The environmentplayed a key role in the completion of both activities.
According to the OTPH 3 an environmentis defined as External physical and social conditions that
surround the client and in which the client s daily life occupations occur (AOTA. 2014, pg. S12).
The first major inhibitor regarding the physical environment was that fact that the children were not

West Middle School were unexpectedly asked to move to the Wyoming Valley West High School.

deviated from its usual meaning of a winter phenomenon, and has maneuvered its way into

The major components of a car consist of the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and tires.
The purpose of this essay is to guide you through the process of changing the oil in your car s
engine.
An oil change is recommended every 3,000 to 5,000 miles depending on your driving style and
conditions. Your car is more likely to need an oil change at 3,000 miles if you live in a
metropolitan area where you face stop and go traffic, polluted air, and very hot temperatures.

4. Jack the car up about a foot to a foot and a half. Use the jack stands and put them on both sides
of the car. ** This is a very important procedure; in case the jack fails (unlikely but can happen)
you have something to hold up the car.
5. Look under the car to find your oil reservoir, use the socket wrench to remove the nut. Before
you do this, you should have an oil pan ready to keep the dirty oil. After you unscrew the nut,
you should see a stream of motor oil draining out of the oil tank. Allow this process to occur for 5
10 minutes and make sure the oil is going into the oil pan. This is the most annoying part of the
entire procedure because sometimes things can get messy. Also look for the oil filter and twist in
open. We are going to replace it with a new one in our next step.
6. Check in after 10 minutes, if you don?t see anymore oil dripping out, screw the nut back in
tightly and also screw on the new oil filter. Using a little bit of motor oil on the rubber gasket will
ensure a tight fit.
7. You are now almost done; make sure you have pulled everything out of the bottom of the car.
Now release the jack and let the car slowly come down to the surface. Open the oil cap and pour
in the quarts of motor oil into the oil tank. The amount is specified in the owner?s manual. Close
the oil cap and proceed to start your car. Shut the car off;

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Micro Credit Loan
DISCUSSION
Loan can be referring to as a thing that is borrowed, especially a sum of money that is expected
to be paid back with interest. Micro credit loans are small loans which are given to the farmer on

For the micro credit loan from ZaraiTaraqiati Bank farmers should have minimum of 12 acre or
more then twelve acre of land. There are different types of loans. Open ended loans and close ended
loans, secured and unsecured loans and conventional loans.
Open ended loans
Open ended loans are loans that you can borrow over and over. Credit cards and lines of credit
are the most common types of open ended loans. With both of these loans, you have a credit limit
that you can purchase against. Each time you make a purchase, your available credit decreases. As
you make payments, your available increases allowing you to use the same credit over and over.
Close ended loans
Closed ended loans cannot be borrowed once they ve been repaid. As you make payments on
closed ended loans, the balance of the loan goes down. However, you don t have any available
credit you can use on closed ended loans. Instead, if you need to borrow more money, you d have
to apply for another loan. Common types of closed ended loans include mortgage loans, auto loans,
and student loans.

Essay On Deborah Blau
Deborah Blau is a girl troubled with a mental disorder, from which she attempted to commit
suicide at the beginning of the story. Her parents brought her to a psychiatric facility from which
her doctor, Dr. Fried, tries to break down the barriers Deborah places in front of her illness so that
she may not be abandoned, which is her fear. When misunderstand, she escapes to her imaginary
world of Yr; it once was a beautiful place of mythical Gods, but they bring her pain with tyranny,
controlling her in some cases. Deboraheventually opens up to Dr. Fried about this world, in which
she accepts it, rather than denying it, ensuring her patients trust . This gives Deborah a choice
between it and reality after they finish with treatment, but during treatment she wishes for Dr. Fried
to look into a deeper meaning to which Yr demands her. Throughout her stay, Deborah begins to

Analysis Of Bright Star By John Keats
In the famous poem Bright Star , dedicated to his lover Fanny Brawne, John Keats presents the
essence of love in passion and in depth. As its form, a combination of Shakespearean and Italian
sonnets suggests, the poem portrays love as a subject full of seemingly contradictive qualities. As a
subjective matter, loveis active and passive, physical and spiritual, mutable and eternal at the same
time. Holding immortal love as the ultimate value of life, the speaker imagines a brave possibility
of love transcending life for his romantic belief. In the beginning of the poem, the speaker
presents love as a subjective matter by contrasting it with the significant image of the star, a
symbol of divine objectivity. Since long ago, man has learned to observe stars for its
steadfastness for directions and guidance (1). Thus in western culture, star is seen as a prophetic
divine existence, a form of absolute truth or universal rule, above all arbitrary and relative beings
on earth. The speaker then implies love to be the opposite by emphasizing the star s incapability
of worldly emotions and personal perspectives by applying the metaphor of Eremite (4). The stoic
hermit or recluse under religious vow sacrifices personal feelings and preferences in order to obtain
absolute truth. Hence, the speaker perceives love as a subjective matter, unrelated to the absolute.
In line 6, the metaphor of mask also proves such assumption: Only by covering the objects, the
snow, amorphous

And Nygaard (1996) said In object oriented programming, an information process is regarded as a
system developing through transformation of its state. The substance of the process is organized
as the system components, called objects. A measurable property of the substance is a property of
an object. Transformation of state is regarded as actions by objects.
Mathiasen et el. (2000) gave the following description In many traditional Analysis and design
methods, functions, data, and data flows are the key concepts (5). The concepts are suitable for
describing phenomena in offices and computerized systems. Objects, states, and behavior on the
other hand, are more general concepts and are suitable for describing most phenomena that can be
expressed in natural language.
Object oriented programming (OOP) and object oriented design (OOD) refer to a particular way
of organizing programs, one which is rapidly emerging as the preferred approach for building
complex software systems (Morelli, R, 2000 pg. 5). Sommerville (2001) gave the following
definitions: Object oriented analysis is concerned with developing an object oriented model of the
application domain. The identified objects reflect entities and operations that are associated with
the problem to be solved. Object oriented

Elementary teachers not only introduce their students to the basic concepts of core subjects, they
also help pave the path to each student s future success. Education to become a teacher is long and
tedious, and while the income may not be the highest available, watching students develop a new
skill or grow an appreciation for learning can be very rewarding. Because there will always be a
need for education, even with the recent budget cuts, teaching jobs will always have to be available
somewhere. Elementary teachers play an important part in the intellectual development as well as
the social development of their students. The education of young children can affect the way they
view themselves, other people, and the world, and their success throughout life. Usually, one
elementary teacher will teach several subjects to one class, of about 20 students. However, some
will work in teams with other teachers, depending on the type of school ( Career Information:
Elementary School Teachers. ). Teachers are faced with the responsibility of nurturing their students
as well as their education. In the early years of elementary school, teachers introduce their students
to the concepts of reading, writing, and counting. In the later years of elementary, teachers have the
task of introducing the concepts of mathematics, language, science, and social studies. Teachers
also have multiple behind the scenes duties. Teachers have the duty of creating daily

The Third Largest Coal Ash Spill
The third largest coal ash spill in United States history has left some citizens in North Carolina
fearing their water is not safe to drink. This fear is a result of anywhere between 50,000 and
82,000 tons of coal ash and up to twenty seven million gallons of contaminated water being dumped
into the Dan River in Eden, North Carolinaon February 2, 2014. The spill was caused by a busted
storm drain pipe that ran under an unlined coal ash pond at Duke Energy s Dan River Combined
Cycle Station ( Duke Energy s Grievous ). Coal ash is a byproduct of burning coal for energy and
contains substances such as arsenic, lead, and mercury. These toxic chemicals are not only harmful

Draft Proposed Impoundment Classifications. DEQ. 31 Dec. 2015. Web. 8 Apr. 2016.
The coal ash that is buried underground still has the potential to seep into the neighboring water
supply. Also, the high risk ponds will not be evacuated until 2019 and the low intermediate risk
ponds as late as 2029. Subsequently, there will still be run off from these ponds polluting fresh
water for the time being ( House, Senate Approve ). This settlement is not a win for residents
surrounding these impoundments. Preventing seepage from coal ash ponds and completely
removing the coal ashes away from fresh water is the only way North Carolinians will feel safe
about their drinking water, no matter the proposed risk classification.
For instance, the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) handed out a Clean Water Act
permit to the Duke Energy Riverbend coal ash site on Mountain Island Lake on the Catawba
River which supplies water for Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Mount Holly, and Gastonia. This
pollution discharge permit is supposed to protect Mountain Island Lake from harmful coal ash
pollution coming out of the Duke Energy s Riverbend facility. In 2015, Duke Energy pleaded
guilty to criminal coal ash pollution and was issued to remove the coal ash pond at Riverbend. The
coal ash lagoons are scheduled to be

The Theme Of Love In The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst
Love is unconditional within a family and should come without seeing any flaws one may have.
Each and every individual is given the ability to love, however not all have the strength and
courage to embrace it. Love is the most important aspect of life, but not all can accept an individual
s differences. James Hurstexpresses this hardship in his story The Scarlet Ibis. Hurst displays the
importance of acceptance between two brothers, Brother and Doodle. Doodle is born with a
disability that sets him apart from other children his age. Brother cannot accept the fact that his

everything Doodle is imagining is a lie, but the picture he is painting is so serene, that all
Brother could think to do was to agree. Doodle cherishes every second he has with his older

The Princess Bride Film Analysis
It is remarkably difficult to narrow down a favorite movie because I have a few, however the
one film that I have already watched numerous times and still plan on watching many more
would have to be The Princess Bride. It is a story based on the book by S. Morgenstern s classic
tale of true love and high adventure abridged with the good parts version by William Goldman
who later translated it to screenplay. The book was actually written as a nonexistent political satire,
however this story is also infused with excerpts from Goldman s fictional life. The filmpreserves
this unique structure to tell a story within a story by using the actors Peter Faulk and Fred Savage
as grandfather and sick grandson, respectively. The Princess Bride uses a variety of techniques from
acting technique, cinematography, narrativestructure, the potential for societal impact, style, genre,
and sound to reveal a satire of the common fairy tale, while simultaneously becoming one of the
most cherished movies for over thirty years.
The illusion of movement is introduced fairly early in the film as the story opens with Buttercup
riding her horse across the field in order to torment the farm boy, Westley, working on her farm. We

constructed colour selection intensified the mood of each scene while escalating narrative
complexities such as secrecy and danger. A lack of colour can further increase a character s

sleazy motels with the passion kept secret from judgemental eyes. Despite implying that their
rendezvous is scandalous, Marion is shown wearing a white bra and slip which hints at her

Examples Of Archetypes In The Lamb By William Blake
True Meaning
(A discussion on Blake s Archetypes)
An archetype is defined as a recurrent symbol in literature, art, and mythology. Usually an
archetype is a character in a story that represents such universal patterns of human nature.
William Blake is a poet and an artist during the 1800 s who used archetypes in many of his writing
s he wrote. Blake published two books of poems, one being called Songs of Innocence, and Songs
of experience, these two books of poems are his most known writings. William Blake uses
archetypes in his four poems The Lamb , The Tyger, The Chimney Sweeper , and Infant Sorrow .
In The Lamb , the lamb is the archetype that symbolizes as cute and sweet. In the poem Blake s
describes the lamb as softest clothing of delight . He explains the lambs wool as soft and
elegant. Blake talks about the lambs sound explaining Gave thee such a tender voice, making all
the vales rejoice. Blake explains that the lambs noise can make the most depressed valley s happy
with joy. The lamb is symbolized as sweet an innocent. Blake decided that the lamb is one of God s
great creations.
In The Tyger Blake uses the tyger as an archetype of power. Tigers in the real world today are the
biggest killing/hunting machines, and they never let anything get in their way. Tigers want all
the power. Blake explains What immortal hand or eye, could frame thy fearful symmetry? . He
uses the word fearful in that sentence to describe the tigers face. He also used the word could in
the quote above, but also restates the statement using dare instead of could. Blake is trying to
get at how could someone make something so destructive and demanding. Blake uses fire to
describe the tiger several times. For example, In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fire of
thine eyes. Blake s uses fire to describe the tiger because they share similar qualities, such as
being deadly and harmful to many living things. William Blake did a excellent job at explaining
how a tiger is a good archetype for power.
In The Chimney Sweeper uses archetypes to represent faith. Blake is able to use these chimney
sweepers as a good archetype for faith because they often go through very hard lives. When my
mother died I

Summary description
Observational methods involve an investigator viewing users as they work and taking notes on the
activity which takes place. Observation may be either direct, where the investigator is actually
present during the task, or indirect, where the task is viewed by some other means such as through
use of a video camera.
Typical Application Areas
Useful early in specification for obtaining qualitative data. This method is an alternative (non

you intend to carry out establish the times, places, and people who will be observed. Note that in
some countries, the law may prohibit you from taking video films of people without their explicit
written consent.
3.Decide on the recording technique you will use. Will you rely on hand written notes
(traditional), audio, or video and audio records? Note that the more complete your record, the
longer it takes to analyze. It is useful to be able to make some kind of first cut analysis during
observation
4.Analyse, summarize, and report in relation to the objectives set out at the start.
Observation as an approach in a laboratory setting is instantiated quite specifically using the
Laboratory Based Observation approach. A variation of single user observation is two user
observation where pairs of users are invited to work together and the above process is carried out
on the pair. One of the users in two user observation may be a member of the design team, and this
is particularly useful in situations where there may be an unstable prototype.

Prior to the 1970 s, severe pollution from raw sewage outflows resulted in the absence of fish
and associated wildlife. There was also a lack of activities taking place that were recreational for
locals and tourists alike. Therefore, because of the poor water quality, from upstream areas in
Shipley towards the Ouse at the village of Airmyn, the River Aire gained a bad reputation as being
heavily polluted.
However, after the 1970 s

The Space And Space Exploration
In the midst of presidential race between many candidates, Ted Cruz was one that stood out
because of his many plans and policies on space exploration. Ted Cruz has spoken of what he plans
on doing if he were to become president. He plans on developing a rocket and capsule that can take
astronauts clear into Mars early as 2030. He adds that this is a crucial part in space explorationand
developing NASAin to full capacity. The project which will cost billions of dollars will further
advance the United States into the superior space program over any other country in the world.
While many of Cruz s opponents think that spending money on space exploration is an extreme
waste of valuable cash, Cruz still defends his ideas and plans on turning this country into the space
super power. Cruz seems to care a lot about space exploration and plans on making that a huge part
of his run at presidency.
The space war so to speak between the United States and Russia is one that will continue through
the ages and one that Cruz has repeatedly said he will put a stop to. He insists that we can get
astronauts to the space station without the help of our rival Russia. As we all know The U.S. has
been reliant on Russia for a long time including back in 2011 when they helped shuttle astronauts to
the orbiting lab. Cruz who represents the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas believes that he
is the best candidate for those astronomy aficionados. Florida senator Bill Nelson deeply agrees

Matthew Barrie. He first staged the story of Peter Pan in 1904 into the form of a play and

eccentric and fanciful little boy who wouldn t grow up. The story is set in a place called, the
Neverland, where Captain Hookis Captain of the Jolly Roger, Tiger Lily is the Princess of the
Indians, Tinker Bellis a fairy, and magical creatures that lie deep within the exotic locale. The book
focuses on his adventures and escapades with Wendy and her younger brothers, John and Michael.

She is the eldest child and was every inch a woman, though there were not very many inches
(25). Though she hoped she would avoid growing up by going to Neverland but the exact
opposite happened. In the story, Peter manages to convince Wendy to go to Neverland, only if
she could take her younger brothers, John and Michael as well, to take on the role of a mother
to the lost boys, to tell them bedtime stories and such things a mother should do. When they ask
her to be their mother, she responds ought I?... Of course it s frightfully fascinating, but you see I
am only a little girl. I have no real experience (66). She takes on the role innately by having
pretend meal times, tucking them to bed, sewing them pockets, and telling them stories. Wendy s
character is dynamic since at first she wanted to avoid the responsibility of growing up but towards
the end, she realizes and decides she wants to grow

Analysis Of Annie Baker s The Aliens
Accompanying documentation
Annie Baker is a Pulitzer prize winning playwright whose works present a charming, quiet
affection for human interactions with The Aliens being a great example of those qualities. It is a
deceivingly easy seeming thing to take ordinary conversations and elevate them to being
theatrically relevant, but Annie Baker manages to do just that in her writing. The big question is
how to convey meaningful subtext with the silence that is written and woven into her plays. The
Aliens is a simple play about two misfits who spend their time behind a coffee shop and the young
Evan who joins them. The play is about alienation and not fitting in with society, but also, on a
deeper level, about the gulfs of solitude that exists between all human beings. As a death happens
between acts, it comes to remind the audience our own human endings and suddenly the very
small things, like pauses, can take on a very strong, haunting meaning. As much as there is space
between society and these three characters, there re gulfs of it between the characters
themselves. Again, Baker uses rhythm and pauses as a way to show how we process one
another by using the things we don t say. How we use silence to gauge others intentions. A part
of this is to give off a minimalist and real way of speaking. We often hold pauses when we talk to
each other we think, we hesitate and we are afraid. Another way to look at this idea is to think of
the characters as aliens because they use a

laboratory setting two times. The first test was a VO2max test while wearing running shoes. The
second time was to test the conditions using a 2x2 design; 2... Show more content on

When working with clients in the future, we need to test how trained they are and ways to improve
their economy to make exercise more beneficial. This will keep clients coming back because
economy improves with practice. The model of performance shows that improved VO2max and
improved economy leads to an improved Lactate Threshold and therefore an improved
performance. An improved VO2max and an improved economy allow an individual to perform at
a greater skill level and fatigue less quickly. Running barefoot can help elite runners as well as
those just beginning to run. The goal is to improve performance and maximize the results and

Disadvantages Of Carboxylic Acid
The combination of a carbonyl (C=O) group and hydroxyl (в€’OH) group on the same carbon atom
results in the formation of a carboxyl (в€’COOH) functional group. Compounds containing at least
one carboxyl functional group are commonly known as carboxylic acids, and have the general
molecular formula CnH2n+1COOH. Carboxylic acidswith two or more carboxyl groups are called
dicarboxylic acids, tricarboxylic acids, etc. The carboxyl group is one of the most frequently
occurring functional groups in chemistry and biochemistry. Apart from the carboxylic acids, the

  • 2. The Debate Between Pro Life And Pro Choice With recent developments in Northern Irish legislation for on demand abortions , the debate between pro life and pro choice has been thrown back into the media and the morality of abortion scrutinized under the eye of third wave feminism, which has reclaimed the 1970 s slogan of The Right to Choose . The following essay intends to discuss how abortionis always an option and never a morally wrong act, as it is the mother s choice to do with her body what she wishes and such the fetus has no right to leech off the mother when the host is not willing. In this discussion one shall, as Thomson did in A Defence of Abortion (1971), accept the stance that a fetus is a person from conception, to avoid that issue all together. Autonomy is one of the main arguments presented by pro choice advocated, with the most extreme form arguing that a woman has complete right over her own liberty and so should be allowed to terminate her pregnancy whenever she wishes for whatever reason she wishes. This obviously becomes an issue when the argument of trivial justification is discussed, such as in the recent case of Josie Cunningham who had an abortion to have a nose job after she found out it was not possible to go under general anesthetic while pregnant (Nagesh, 2015). This is a case where for some it becomes hard to argue that this is a morally okay action, especially if it assumed that she killed a person for aesthetic reasons. However, some may still argue that as a rational human she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Examples Of Closed-Mindedness In The Water Is Wide The novel, The Water is Wide , by Pat Conroy, tells a story about a man who seeks to do the right thing for his students and is stopped at every turn by the closed mindedness of the very people he s trying to help. The people who live on the island of Yamacraw exist within their own personal bubble, and this bubble provides comfort and community to all those within it, but it is all a lie. Throughout the novel, we are shown the results of being closed minded upon the people who are ensnared by its grasp, and they clearly show how the illusion of safety and happiness that being closed minded provides is one of the greatest betrayals in all of humanhistory. There are two major examples of how closed mindedness is harmful to people In the beginning of the novel, and the first of which would have to be the author s childhood because, as a child, Conroy was an innocent racist who indulged in the torment of the black children who live near him. He is never taught that such acts are wrong and would surely have grown up to become another racist, southern stereotype if it weren t for one thing: college. College, and more importantly, the people he meets there, is what sets him on the path he takes for the rest of his life because it is there that his mind is opened to new ways of thinking that he never would have otherwise experienced through his interaction with others from outside his cultural bubble. In this fresh environment, his newfound slew of friends manage to make him see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau and the Internet As young adults, we cannot recall a life without the web. The web is young because recently it had its 25th anniversary. 25 years ago ,Tim Berners Lee and Robert Cailliau changed the world forever. According to boutell.com, In 1989, while working at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research), both men made proposals for hypertext systems...And in late 1990 and early 1991, Tim Berners Leewrote the first web browser. These men started the technology phenomena, but as time progressed, society started to become more advanced. People do not interact the same with each other. As we move on forward, the definition of a friend is lost because of the indecency of social media. The growth of social media causes people to question what a friend is because people do not understand the difference between interacting face to face, rather than socializing on the web. As more social media sites come to the market, people are social without going out. The growth of social media causes people to think, act, and interact differently, causing the meaning of friendshipto be lost, because of the growth of the web. Socializing digitally contradicts socializing in the real world. Socializing digitally causes people to think differently about their friends. The generation of today is not as social as the generation of the past. People compete with each other based on their Facebook friend numbers, thinking it is a popularity contest. The reality is that Facebook friends ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Comparison Of Genesis, The Gospel, And Theistic Evolution Genesis, the Gospel, and Theistic Evolution Introduction Humans have asked questions about their origin and their purpose on earth for eons. The Bible tells humans that God created them and explains their purpose. However, since the Renaissance, humanism answers questions about origins by naturalistic means and science has been redefined in the process. Most institutions of higher education and many individuals have adopted the naturalistic theory of evolution to explain human origin without considering its effects on faith. In contrast to prevailing thought at Goshen College, a literal six day creation is foundational to the Gospel message. Combining evolution and Christianity makes one s faith less logical and opens one s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some theistic evolutionists prefer to be called evolutionary creationists. Most of the following arguments against theistic evolution could also be applied to any combination of Christianity and macroevolution (i.e. bacteria to human evolution), irregardless of its label. Naturalism or Christianity as a Foundation for a System of Ethics Theistic evolution meshes two worldviews, naturalism and Christianity, and each worldview lays a foundation for a system of ethics and morality. Let us first examine more closely the foundation laid by naturalism. Naturalism deifies chance. Random chance is responsible for life as we know it. In The Beak of the Finch, evolutionist Jonathan Weiner writes, Natural selection leads to evolution. He further explains that for natural selection to occur, the organisms most suited to their environment will survive (1995, p. 128). The best adapted organisms are more likely to pass on their genetic information while the less well adapted lose out in the great battle of life. Such a view of origins establishes by extrapolation a moral and ethical foundation. If humans are only products of chance evolution, they will naturally follow the instincts that have been ingrained in them for millions of years. They will pass on their genetic information to as many offspring as possible. Because they have gained great intelligence and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Scientific Revolution Essay During the Scientific Revolution scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes and Bacon wrestled with questions about God, human aptitude, and the possibilities of understanding the world. Eventually, the implications of the new scientific findings began to affect the way people thought and behaved throughout Europe. Society began to question the authority of traditional knowledge about the universe. This in turn, allowed them to question traditional views of the state and social order. No longer was the world constructed as the somewhat simple Ptolemaic Model suggested. The Earth for the first time became explicable and was no longer the center of the universe. Many beliefs that had been held for hundreds of years now proved to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The statement acts to justify his finding with the church and connect them to God. Copernicus realized that the church would be quick to judge him, and possibly this is why he didn t publish his theories until late in his life. His discoveries were not so much as important as were his methods of observation and application of mathematics to explain the world. His methods of discovery helped model the direction of science over the next hundred years. Another important figure in the Scientific Revolution was Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian born professor of mathematics who had a great interest in the workings of the universe. Galileo served as a professor at the University of Padua, and it was during this time that he began to question the accuracy of the Churches representation of the world. Galileo s approach towards knowledge was much different then the afore mentioned Copernicus. Where as Copernicus presented his finding to the mercy of the church, Galileo wrote his conclusions and left the Roman Catholic Church interpret them as they chose. The very nature of his findings pitted him as an opponent of the church. The Earth was not the center of the universe. Galileo had seen far into the heavens with the telescope he had designed and created an even more accurate mold of the universe. He trumpeted his views everywhere, and condemned anyone who ... • 7. The Importance Of Teacher Attrition In Education Twenty three percent of teachers leave the teaching profession during their first five years of teaching (Elisa Shernoff, Ane MarГn Мѓ ez Lora, Stacy Frazier, Lara Jakobsons, Marc Atkins, Deborah Bonner, 2011, p. 465). Teaching has been a career before writing was established, however there has never been such a high attrition rate in teaching. Attrition is defined as a reduction in workforce without firing of personnel, as when workers resign or retire and are not replaced (CITATION Dictionary .com). While the current flow of students training to become teachers is still strong, novice teachers do not find enough encouragement in their first few years of teaching to remain in the profession. Instead, their experiences cause them to feel discouraged and disrespected to the point that they do not believe that teaching is where they belong. This crisis regarding educationsustainability needs to be redefined to include the sustainability of teachers. Sustaining future education relies on creating and hiring teachers who enjoy being part of a learning environment. The use of student teaching, teacher collaboration, and less mandated learning goals can lower the teacher attrition rate and sustain education. Also, although some people believe that other resources are more important to sustain, education is going to be detrimental to the success of future societies. Student teaching can help lessen teacher attrition by giving the pre service teacher experience in a classroom, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Firstly, the cytoskeleton is one of the many membrane bound organelles which is only found in eukaryotic cells and not prokaryotic counterparts. The cytoskeleton is a series of proteins within the cell which provides the cell with shape and support. The cytoskeleton also mediates some aspects of movement by helping the cell move in its environment and by controlling the movement of other cell components. A second organellewhich eukaryotes possess and prokaryotes do not possess includes the Golgi apparatus. The legalization of marijuana will be beneficial in creating job opportunities, boosting tax revenue, and reducing the number of arrests due to possession of the drug. The number of people arrested for marijuana law violations in 2013 was 693,482 which costs the United States more than $51,000,000,000 annually (Way, 2013). The governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper, in 2012 signed an executive order becoming the nation s first statewide vote to end marijuana prohibition. Making recreational use and home cultivation of small amounts of marijuana legal in the state of Colorado for adults 21 years of age and older. According to the Colorado Center on Law and Policy amendment 64 will save the state $12 million in savings for the year 2013 because of a deduction in criminal costs. Courts and prisons are seeing less violations due to issues with marijuana so there is no need to spend as much of the tax payer s money on them. Legalization of marijuana will not only benefit the states by reduced law enforcement expenses but will also create jobs. Marijuana is a billion dollar industry that the government is missing out on. With the legalization for the popular drug comes an abundance of career options and job opportunities. There will be a need for companies that can make pipes, bongs, vaporizers, papers and other products associated with weed which will then create job openings. It will also create large amounts of profit and revenue from the sales tax that the government could implement. On the market there will be a new product being produced and sold increasing gross domestic product for the United States. Throughout our lives, and especially in our younger years, we develop different changes and experiences. For instance, after sent to stand in the corner for the tenth time Billy finally realized that the action of talking back to his mother had consequences. My third topic, the purpose of education, has several areas in it that I am going to discuss, the first being the general importance of education. Spring outlined many goals for education. The prevention of teenage pregnancies, prevention of drug abuse, and the prevention of the spread of sexually transmitted diseases were among the many goals. To achieve these goals I agree with the pragmatist/progressivists that believe that we need to teach kids how to think and not what to think. By teaching kids how to think we will allow them to see the consequences of their actions and let them make the decision of whether they can handle the consequences or not. Today kids are taught what to think and not how to think so they rebel to get out from under the control of their authorities not seeing the consequences. For this reason education is very important, because it allows students the opportunity to make educated and well founded judgments and decisions that they may not have been able to make otherwise. Continuing on with my third topic, I hope to accomplish several goals as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Communication creates and rebuilds relationships which can last a lifetime. Even though, communication could create strong bonds it could also destroy those bonds. When it comes to communicating, everyone has their flaws as well as me. One of my flaws, when it comes to communicating, is having the courage to speak my mindwithin important and necessary conversations. When it comes to communicating, I tend to hold my tongue instead of expressing how I truly feel. Even though I know that not all conversations need your opinion or advice, there s still those conversations that do. There are certain reasons that I have decided to keep my thoughts and feelings to myself while having conversations with others: fear that the way others perception of me would change negatively, fear of not knowing how they will respond or accept and the fear of leaving my stuff vulnerable in front of someone that could possibly hurt me mentally and emotionally. I have yet to figure out what should be said at the appropriate time, so I rather just keep my thoughts and comments to myself because I cannot do any harm if I m quiet. Comedy Theories According to the Oxford dictionary Humor, is defined as: The quality of being amustic or comic, especially as expressed in literature or speech, but what truly makes something funny? Comedy has been around for hundreds of years; as it is being examined four concrete theories have been developed to understand the idea of comedy: Superiority, Relief, incongruity, and Benign Violation theory. The conception of comedy has been around since the dawn of man; Aristophanes wrote comic plays dating back to 425 BCE, but as time progress so does comedy. The jokes and comics we see today have changed drastically since then, and have evolved into a new style of humor. Comedy is used by writers, playwrights, and everyday people to make life more enjoyable and cause the greatest feeling to man... Laughter. The first theory otherwise known as Superiority theory, is the idea that people laugh at the misfortune of others. When people make a group of peers laugh it adds a sense of, sudden glory, to a person and allows people to feel dominant. The bases of superiority theory is people thrive for dominance and can use laughter to win dominance by getting everyone to admire or follow a person; by seeing someone else have a joke played on a person makes people feel better or superior. As a symbol of a winter wonderland, the holidays, individuality, and beauty, snowflakes elicit feelings of warmth and happiness from within one s soul. However, the usage of this word has deviated from its usual meaning of a winter phenomenon, and has maneuvered its way into derogatory social and political slang throughout history. It has been used as a means to call out those that have disputed the Peculiar Institution, a way to dehumanize African Americans, and now, a generalization of a hypersensitive Millennial generation. Through this essay, the history of the term s slang use will be described as well as its development into the jargon that it is today. In addition, justification to those who believe that Donald Trumpis indeed a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 11). Since the election of Trump as the 45th president of the United States, there has been a huge divide among Republicans and Democrats across America leading to back and forth bantering about their political views. In a time of such political tension the term snowflake was revived as a jab towards their opponents. In February, the hashtag #HowToSpotASnowflake was trending on Twitter, fueling comments such as, #HowToSpotASnowflake They show up to march in a protest but when interviewed, they don t know what they re protesting (Pignataro par. 4). Another target of the slander are Millennials, as they are constantly berated with the term by members of the older generation such as Claire Fox and Marc Thiessen for being egocentric, having an inaccurate portrayal of the first amendment, and being unable to accept opinions that contradict theirs. Nonetheless, this label isn t meant to characterize a specific age, race, or political group, but it can be applied to anyone. • 28. Analysis Of Bright Star By John Keats In the famous poem Bright Star , dedicated to his lover Fanny Brawne, John Keats presents the essence of love in passion and in depth. As its form, a combination of Shakespearean and Italian sonnets suggests, the poem portrays love as a subject full of seemingly contradictive qualities. As a subjective matter, loveis active and passive, physical and spiritual, mutable and eternal at the same time. Holding immortal love as the ultimate value of life, the speaker imagines a brave possibility of love transcending life for his romantic belief. In the beginning of the poem, the speaker presents love as a subjective matter by contrasting it with the significant image of the star, a symbol of divine objectivity. Since long ago, man has learned to observe stars for its steadfastness for directions and guidance (1). Thus in western culture, star is seen as a prophetic divine existence, a form of absolute truth or universal rule, above all arbitrary and relative beings on earth. The speaker then implies love to be the opposite by emphasizing the star s incapability of worldly emotions and personal perspectives by applying the metaphor of Eremite (4). The stoic hermit or recluse under religious vow sacrifices personal feelings and preferences in order to obtain absolute truth. Hence, the speaker perceives love as a subjective matter, unrelated to the absolute. In line 6, the metaphor of mask also proves such assumption: Only by covering the objects, the snow, amorphous ... The Princess Bride Film Analysis It is remarkably difficult to narrow down a favorite movie because I have a few, however the one film that I have already watched numerous times and still plan on watching many more would have to be The Princess Bride. It is a story based on the book by S. Morgenstern s classic tale of true love and high adventure abridged with the good parts version by William Goldman who later translated it to screenplay. Blake explains What immortal hand or eye, could frame thy fearful symmetry? . He uses the word fearful in that sentence to describe the tigers face. He also used the word could in the quote above, but also restates the statement using dare instead of could. Blake is trying to get at how could someone make something so destructive and demanding. Blake uses fire to describe the tiger several times. For example, In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fire of thine eyes. Blake s uses fire to describe the tiger because they share similar qualities, such as being deadly and harmful to many living things. A variation of single user observation is two user observation where pairs of users are invited to work together and the above process is carried out on the pair. One of the users in two user observation may be a member of the design team, and this is particularly useful in situations where there may be an unstable prototype. Moreover, any recommendations and engineering interventions were also considered for the areas, for any further improvements. Finally, it was concluded that the water quality overall was reasonable to sustain fish, however one particular site (Saltaire) needed improving for its water quality. 1 2.Introduction Amongst the main rivers in Yorkshire, the River Aireruns 71 miles (141km) in length where the river is partially canalised (Aire and Calder Navigation). It rises about 300m above sea level, with a basin area of 1004km2. The source of the River Aire is situated in North Yorkshire, rising from Malham Cove at Malham Tarn, running beneath the ground towards Malham village. Of the towns the river flows through include Gargrave, Skipton, Cononley, then passes through more industrial areas such as Saltaire and Shipley, heading towards Leeds. The mouth of the river is at River Ouse at Airmyn. Prior to the 1970 s, severe pollution from raw sewage outflows resulted in the absence of fish and associated wildlife. There was also a lack of activities taking place that were recreational for locals and tourists alike. Therefore, because of the poor water quality, from upstream areas in Shipley towards the Ouse at the village of Airmyn, the River Aire gained a bad reputation as being heavily polluted.

Ted Cruz has spoken of what he plans on doing if he were to become president. He plans on developing a rocket and capsule that can take astronauts clear into Mars early as 2030. He adds that this is a crucial part in space explorationand developing NASAin to full capacity. The project which will cost billions of dollars will further advance the United States into the superior space program over any other country in the world. While many of Cruz s opponents think that spending money on space exploration is an extreme waste of valuable cash, Cruz still defends his ideas and plans on turning this country into the space super power. Cruz seems to care a lot about space exploration and plans on making that a huge part of his run at presidency. The space war so to speak between the United States and Russia is one that will continue through the ages and one that Cruz has repeatedly said he will put a stop to. He insists that we can get astronauts to the space station without the help of our rival Russia. As we all know The U.S. has been reliant on Russia for a long time including back in 2011 when they helped shuttle astronauts to the orbiting lab. Cruz who represents the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas believes that he is the best candidate for those astronomy aficionados. Florida senator Bill Nelson deeply agrees ... • 47. Analysis Of Annie Baker s The Aliens Accompanying documentation Annie Baker is a Pulitzer prize winning playwright whose works present a charming, quiet affection for human interactions with The Aliens being a great example of those qualities. It is a deceivingly easy seeming thing to take ordinary conversations and elevate them to being theatrically relevant, but Annie Baker manages to do just that in her writing. The big question is how to convey meaningful subtext with the silence that is written and woven into her plays. The Aliens is a simple play about two misfits who spend their time behind a coffee shop and the young Evan who joins them. The play is about alienation and not fitting in with society, but also, on a deeper level, about the gulfs of solitude that exists between all human beings. As a death happens between acts, it comes to remind the audience our own human endings and suddenly the very small things, like pauses, can take on a very strong, haunting meaning. As much as there is space between society and these three characters, there re gulfs of it between the characters themselves. Again, Baker uses rhythm and pauses as a way to show how we process one another by using the things we don t say. How we use silence to gauge others intentions. A part of this is to give off a minimalist and real way of speaking. We often hold pauses when we talk to each other we think, we hesitate and we are afraid. Another way to look at this idea is to think of the characters as aliens because they use a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Running without shoes prevents the heel from striking first, which is better running form, this is one of the primary reasons many people run barefoot. This study aims to research the oxygen cost of running barefoot verse running with shoes. The study researched running on both a treadmill and on the ground. The participants of this study were five males and five females who were healthy, recreational runners. A recreational runner was defined as someone who ran at least 16 km each week for at least 6 months (Hanson, Berg, Deka, Meendering, Ryan, 2011, p. 402). Four experimental conditions were examined in this study: 1) barefoot on treadmill, 2) shod on treadmill, 3) barefoot overground, and 4) shod overground (Hanson et al., 2011, p. 401). Each participant was tested in a laboratory setting two times. The first test was a VO2max test while wearing running shoes. The second time was to test the conditions using a 2x2 design; 2...
