The Minimum Driving Age
The achievement of a driver s license is a rite of passage for a large number of adolescents and
young adults in the United States. Societally, the driver s license is representative of a key to the
outside world, and, in some ways, it is also thought of as being one of the first steps into
adulthood. This perceived importance leads numerous fifteen and sixteen year olds to obtain
their license as quickly as they possibly can which can be dangerous. According to the Insurance
Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS), drivers who are between sixteen to nineteen years old are at
the greatest risk of being involved in a fatal crash, and sixteen and seventeen year olds also are at
nearly twice the risk of eighteen and nineteen year olds. This has led some experts to call for a
raise to the minimum drivingage. While this is an understandable conclusion to come to, this is not
necessarily the best course of action. There are other programs which can decrease the fatal crash
rate, which can alleviate the crash concern. Otherwise, the ability to drive is, as stated above, an
important step towards adulthood, and it provides maturity. Additionally, due to the lack of public
transportor other safe ways to travel from place to place, the ability to drive provides younger
Americans with mobility so that they can work, go to school, and also be with friends. For these
reasons, the minimum driving age must stay at sixteen.
In Texas and other states, the minimum age for obtaining a full

Freedom Is Overrated

Freedom is overrated
Imagine a world where laws and rules were never in place. Citizens would run rampant and people
would commit crimes without any consequence for their actions. Now imagine a world where
freedom was non existent. Everyone s actions and behaviors would coincide with one another, as if
they were robots. Straying from the extremes, H. L. Mencken an American writer wrote that the
average man would rather be safe than free. To completely understand his statement, you must
look at a specific word. The average man. H. L. Mencken is right because people would rather
have laws to protect themselves, people want to live comfortable lives, and the people who diverge
from what society tends to do are more than the average person.
In America, and a large majority of countries, you are born with a little bit of freedom. Freedom
is offered in schools and homes. Once people grow up, and earn their freedom, they are allowed
to roam the streets and say what they want to say and do what they want to do. But with
freedom, there must be laws. Laws prevent people from stepping across the line and hurting
others. These laws aren t to make our government appear more superior than its citizens, but to
provide protection and safety for its people. With this safety, people sacrifice some of their
freedom. People still retain a large amount of freedom, but some must be given over for the sake of

Cranberry and Berries Essay
National Cranberry Cooperative Case

Political Science
Junki Hong
To begin with, this assignment is done with Kim Seo Yeon (20100472, Sociology). National
Cranberry Cooperative Case is the study done by the Harvard Business School about a process of
warehousing from the delivery and arriving of cranberry to a manufacturing in the warehouse.
National Cranberry Cooperative was an organization formed and owned by growers of cranberries
to process and markets their berries. The handling of process fruit RP1 was highly mechanized. The
process could be classified into several operations; receiving and testing, dumping, temporary
holding, destroying, dechaffing, drying separation and bulking and bagging. The objective of the

In addition, wet bin capacity is 3,200 barrels so, according to hourly inventory increasing rate, after
passing 5.25 hours, trucks should wait to unload berries. Moreover, overworks should be done for
22.2 hours because workers should dry 13,300 barrels of the berries, but the drying capacity is only
600 barrel per hour besides the arrival rate is 1,210 barrels per hour.
To solve this problem, I would recommend to add dryers ($25,000 per each and capacity increases
200 barrels per each) or wet bins ($5,000 per each and capacity increases 250 barrels per each) for
short term. We can suggest three options to solve this matter. First, we can add no dryers but
convert 15 bins. Second, we can add a dryer and convert 6 bins too. Third, we can add 2 dryers, not
to convert any bins. As first option, we need only additional cost of $75,000, which is calculated by
$5,000 x 15 bins. By practicing first option, the wet bin storage increases to 6,950, so we can cover
all the arrivals of the berries this is done for not to make trucks to wait. In the second option, when
we add a dryer, we can handle 800 barrels per hour in drying process and we can reduce the
overworking time from 22.2 hour to 16.6 hour. (13,300 barrel / 800 barrel equals to 16.6 hours per
a day) We can estimate overtime saved cost and it is closely related to labor cost. Labor cost

The s The House Is Black
Forugh Farrokhzad s The House is Black is a harrowing, disturbing, artfully made documentary,
one of the few films directed by the Iranian poet Farrokhzad. Her subject here is leprosy, and she
looks directly, uncompromisingly, at the devastation that this disease causes the human body. She
does not look away, not from the cruelest deformations this disease generates. Her purpose was to
expose the punishing and superfluous way that lepers continued to be treated in Iran, funneled into
quarantined leper colonies where their disease went relatively untreated, causing them to slowly
and painfully degenerate. Farrokhzad s filmwas deliberate in raising cognizance about these
conditions, and to emphasize that this situation need not be. Produced during the reign of statist
documentary cinema, Farrokhzad s work was a wild contrast from the other documentary films
created in this timeframe. Farrokhzad s The House is Black deliberately and openly disobeyed the
official style of Iranian documentaries during the 1960s, paving the way for Iranian New Wave
cinema. From striking mirror scenes to deep pans of a classroom, Farrokhzad s auteurist
interventions are more obvious than subtle although Farrokhzad s directorial hand is heavy in The
House is Black, this documentary was among the first to reflect a powerful yet unnoticed reality
against the wishes of the Iranian government.
A male narrator impassively lists facts about leprosy while Farrokhzad cuts swiftly and abruptly

Performance Measurement And Management System Design...
INTRODUCTION
A lot of businesses are facing challenges to succeed in a global competitive market. Demands from
customers is constantly and rapidly changing in terms of the sophistication of the products and
services they require and because of this, interest on performance measurement and management
(PMM) has notably increased in the last 20 to 30 years. This report discusses the problems and
difficulties of performance measurement and management system design interventions of
management accounting fields in today s business environment. It also gives a literature review,
critical analysis and findings on this topic.
PROBLEMATIC ASPECTS
All through history, many organisations have used performance tools to assess the success of the
organisation. Assessment of performance has predominantly been based on financial criteria since
the Middle Ages. (Burns, 1998). Performance measurement tools are used to monitor what
management is doing with factors such as share price, return on investment, profit percentage, sales
volume etc.
There was a growing development in the 1980s that traditional performance measures were no
longer adequate enough to manage organisations competing in modern environments. It has been
put to the attention of many authors on this topic that financial information is historical and gives
insufficient indication of the company s performance. It lacks strategic focus and often inhibits
innovations. However, it encourages short term goals. It usually focusses

Their Eyes Were Watching God Journey
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston tells the story of Janie and her journey to
find herself. She went through a lot meeting different people specifically men to help her
understand what she really wanted in her future. Throughout her life, Janie was on a mission to
chase her dreams and find her happiness by experiencing new horizons, which suggest that in
order to be happy one has to push out of the comfort zone. Janie was the kind of woman who was
always striving for better things. While living in a small town, she always dreamed of living in
a better place. From a young age, she was bold enough to be sure she wasn t going to stay with
her grandma for a long time. This was because her Nanny was always sure to shrink her horizons,
and Janie didn t appreciate that. She was like that with Janie because when she was growing up,
she never had the chance to better herself so she learned to settle for what she had. In fact,... Show

Janie knew now that marriage did not make love. Janie s first dream was dead. So she became a
woman (25) because of everyone back home telling her this dream of hers was impossible,
instead of believing it she decided to reach for her horizon and left home. After Janie had the
courage to leave Logan, she now saw her future as an open window full of opportunities she just
had to take the first step. Although her grandma s thought of settling in the memory of Nanny
was still powerful and strong (29) was one thing that would always push her back, she eventually
got over it. In fact, all of the men she was attracted to gave her the sense that they had a big
future ahead of them, and that s exactly what she was looking for. When she met Joe she would
describe him as if he spoke for far horizon. He spoke for a change and chance (29) she thought that

Jeremy Bentham Principles Of Utilitarianism
Jeremy Bentham was born in Houndsditch, London on 15 February 1748. He was the eldest son of
Alicia Whitehorn, nГ©e Grove, who on 3 October 1745 had entered into he second marriage with
Jeremiah Bentham, a successful practitioner in the Court of Chancery. Six further children were
born, of whom only the youngest, Samuel, born in 1757, survived beyond infancy. Death was
never far away and on 6 January 1759, when Jeremy was ten years old, he lost his mother. By
1755 he was considered robust enough to go to Westminster School. It was in 1769 that Bentham
found a purpose for his life. All the pieces of the jigsaw suddenly came into place. His later
reflections on this period of his life reveal an exposure to a very different literature from the ... Show

Bentham brought together various elements from these thinkers to construct his version of the
principle of UTILITY.
UTILITARIANISM:
Jeremy Bentham was a leading theorist in Anglo American philosophy of law and one of the
founders of utilitarianism. He developed this idea of a utility and a utilitarian calculus in the
Introduction to the
Principles of Morals and Legislation (1781).In the beginning of that work Bentham wrote: Nature
has placed mankind under the governance of two sovereign masters, pain and pleasure. It is for
them alone to point out what we ought to do, as well as to determine what we shall do. On the one
hand the standard of right and wrong, on the other the chain of causes and effects, are fastened to
their throne.
They govern us in all we do, in all we say, in all we think: every effort we can make to throw off
our subjection, will serve but to demonstrate and confirm it.
Bentham believed that pain and pleasure not only explain our actions but also help us define what
is good and moral. He believed that this foundation could provide a basis for social, legal, and
moral reform in society. To determine whether an action is moral you merely have to calculate the

How Does Prufrock Show The Importance Of Time
T. S. Eliot s main purpose for writing The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is to show the
importance of time. Prufrock, the main character and narrator of the story seems to think he has
plenty of time to sit around and wait forever to ask, whom we assume is someone he likes, an
overwhelming question (page 2524). Prufrock seems to be a big procrastinator, and uses the timehe
should be using to make excuses as to why he shouldn t rush since he has time later. Time for
you and time for me, And time yet for a hundred indecisions, And for a hundred visions and
revisions, Before the taking of a toast and tea (page 2525). In this quote Prufrock seems to stall
his question even more deciding that there is time to be indecisive before taking his toast and
tea. Prufrock s stalling and convincing of himself that there is more time, is exactly what makes
him not have time and grow old. Before we know it, Prufrock is an old man who now wonders
whether or not he should have used his time wisely when he was younger and would it have been
worth it, after all (page 2526). In the end, there is nothing he can do to get back the time he wasted
so he simply walks the beaches wondering whether the mermaids will come sing to him.

Why Bollenbach Opened His Bidding at $55 per Share
1. Why might Bollenbach have opened his bidding for ITT at $55 per share? What was his
likely strategy? The $55 value is on the lower range of the analyst eztimates, with a best guess
estimate of $67.94. Since the value of the stock had been below $45 for 4 months, the offer of
55 dollars represented a 29% premium to investors. Bollenbach knew that management would be
resistant of any attempt to be acquired, regardless of price, because of failed previous attempts to
negotiate a friendly merger at year end 1996. The 55 dollar benchmark created an expectation for
ITT management to achieve that level, or higher and the premium is enough to demonstrate to
investors it is a real offer. Their support will be key as they will have a... Show more content on

experimental thing to do. I have experienced a lot of culture clashes and the most important thing
I ve had culture clash about was that in the U.S respecting teachers has different meaning compare
to my country. First of all, In Somaliland teachers are well respected by the community and .
Society believes that teachers are the second parents of their students. For example, the teacher is
responsible for all of their student s life as much the parents. If a teacher sees a student doing

comes into the class and wait till the teachers say sit down . Teachers can t call by their last
name or first name people believe it s disrespectful so they get the call by Macaaliin which
means teacher. Students are afraid of their teachers because of the fact teachers are allowed to
beat students if they do something unreasonable. They believe if the student has parents at home
and second parents at school it would help the students to be more successful. In my country, if

The Human Response On An Ignition Hole For The Vehicle Essay
The focus of this paper is to highlight the human response in relation to an action, in this case
turning the key in an ignition, once it has been inserted into the correct ignition hole for the vehicle.
The aim is to identify the brain response with the haptic perceptions and to a lesser extent the visual
perceptions that are involved when completing the instruction set.
Before I begin to explain how we complete this instruction I would like to explain some functions
of our brain and how it relates to completing this task.
Before anything can begin the process to turn the key in the ignition must begin with the decision
to complete the task. The area responsible is called the prefrontal cortex (PFC) which is the
cerebral cortex located in the frontal lobe. Although this area is implicated in planning complex
cognitive behaviour, personality expression, decision making and moderating social behaviour
(Yang, 2009) we are primarily interested in its effect on decision making in relation to our
instruction set chosen.
This region of the brain is considered to be responsible for alignment of thoughts and actions in
accordance with internal goals, in this case getting the key to the ignition and turning the key the
appropriate amount to complete the action of turning on the vehicle.
Another area of the brain responsible for assisting in the completion of our task is the premotor
cortex also lying in the frontal lobe just anterior to the primary motor cortex. Although this area

Hugo Cabret Essay
Everyone has been broken. Maybe some people still are and maybe others have been put back
together by friends or loved ones. The fact still remains that everyone is or has been broken, and
there is no way to stop that from happening. In Brian Selznick s book, The Invention of Hugo
Cabret, he touches on this topic on nearly every page. Many if not all his characters are broken in
some way or another.
Hugo Cabret is broken because he has no parents to care for him, no siblings to share with and no
friends to make him laugh. He steals, lies and tries not to be noticed because if he does, he gets sent
to the orphanage. Throughout the novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Hugo finds his purpose in

became closed off and angry at the world and in a result of this he stopped filmmaking. He
completely dropped off the face of the Earth so much that almost everyone forgot about him to
the point where many thought he was dead. He became severely depressed and had no self

himself and he feels as though his only purpose is to be there and look after Isabelle. Hugo is a

The Pros And Cons Of Technology And Science
Inventions and Discoveries
Human lifestyle has recently changed through the inventions and discovery of new technology
and science. Technology and science are closely related hence, the technology uses science to
answer problems, while science uses technology to come up with new discoveries. However,
technology and science target different objectives. The objective of science is to provide an
answer to the critical questions, thus help to increase knowledge while the goal of technology is
to find answers to real problems. Even though they have a different objective, they, however, work
together to facilitate each other to grow. The knowledge posed from science led to the creation of
technology like telescope while the telescope technology led to a microscope that allows
researchers to discover nature in a new era.
According to an article by Rice University, a telescope is one of the dominant instruments of what
has been referred to as the Scientific Revolution. However, according to the article, they believe
that telescope was not the invention of scientists but the product of craftsmen. Rice University

condition known as presbyopia. This condition majorly faced the aging where they were unable to

The Stories Of Isabel Allende
Isabel Allende was conceived on August 2, 1942, in Lima, Peru, to TomГЎs and Francisca Allende.
Isabel Allende is the goddaughter of Salvador Allende, the primary communist leader of Chile
who was her dad s cousin. Allende s dad was an ambassador and forsook the family when
Allende was only two years. Allende, her kin, and mom at that point moved in with her
granddad in Chile. Allende recollects herself as an insubordinate tyke amid those years living
with her granddad. We lived in a rich house with no cash, (Allende, Telegraph). My granddad
would pay for what was vital yet my mom did not have the money to get us a frozen yogurt. I
needed to resemble my granddad in light of the fact that my mom had a frightful life and he had
every one of the benefits and the power and the flexibility and the auto I believe that was the
minute I began to defy all male expert: the police, the congregation, everything. (Allende,
Telegraph). This engaging state of mind that Allende has is appeared in a large portion of her
abstract work, for example, The Stories of Eva Luna, House of Spirits, and Eva Luna. Allende
experienced childhood in a climate where ladies were mediocre compared to men and this is the
reason Allende composes stories where the lady is solid and free. To numerous perusers, Allende
seems to be a women s activist and engaging creator in light of the fact that the majority of
Allende s work is about how ladies can prevail without the need of a man yet don t fail to

Environmental Pollution Of The Dandora Municipal Waste...
Introduction to the Dandora Municipal Waste dumping site
Over the last three decades, public health states that there has been a growing global distress that
attributed to environmental pollution, in specific, the global burden disease. This problem is
increasing slowly. According to the World Health Organization about a quarter of the disease facing
mankind today occur due to persistent exposure to environmental pollution. Several of these
environment related diseases are hard to detect and may have been developed as a child and
progress later in adulthood. One of the main problems that cause environmental pollution and
degradation in many cities, and mainly in developing countries is the improper management of
solid waste. Municipal waste dumping site is entitled places for waste disposal. Depending on a
city s level of waste management, waste can be literally dumped, separated for recycling purposes,
or simply burnt. Poor waste management poses an enormous challenge to the health of city
residents, especially those who live near the dump sites. The waste can potentially pollute water,
food sources, land, air and vegetation. Poorly dumping waste can lead to environmental
degradation, destruction of the ecosystem, and risks to the public health.

manner, the closed handed truths I believe as guided by Scripture. My Statement of Faith

I affirm these gospel truths, with the understanding that my confidence in these truths grows

they are precious gifts from God.

I believe that the 66 books of the Bible are God s word revealed to us, written by God s apostles
and prophets. In its original manuscripts it contains truth without error as it unfolds the story of
God his creation, our fall, his redemption and restoration; therefore it is, and will remain to the end
of the world, the true center of Christian union. The Scriptures are the supreme standard by which
all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.
II.The Triune God.
We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God. He is an infinite, intelligent Spirit,
the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth, glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible
worship, trust, and love. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but complimentary
offices in the great work of redemption.

In a joint study with Deakin University, Australia, and University of Waterloo, Ontario Canada,
students analyzed increases in lipid metabolism gene expression in human skeletal muscle tissue
after exercise training. Looking at previous studies, endurance exercise elicits increased metabolism
of fatty acids (FA) and carbohydrates, in relation with the metabolismof FA it has been shown that
up regulated genes exhibit their corresponding proteins to transport, initiate, bind, and increase
enzyme activity in response to exercise. Therefore the hypothesis is that certain genes will show
expression and the expression of the corresponding proteins will be more abundant after acute
exercise and after an individual has gone through a short term... Show more content on

Once samples were obtained they were placed in liquid nitrogen, once ready for testing of the
sample the researchers used Real Time PCR and corresponding lab chemicals and procedures to
get results of gene expression. In addition to the muscle biopsy they tested VO2 peak, blood
glucose and lactose levels, and heart rate exchange. These results were used to analyze fat
oxidation. After the nine day exercise bout the initial FA oxidation had increased in the skeletal
muscle by 24%. This increase equates to be 4.5 g of oxidized fat. The analysis of the results
shows gene expression when measured after acute exercise showed no significant change in FA
uptake and breakdown in the (FABP), and (FAT CD36) genes. It also had no significant change
in the corresponding transcription factors. These results are from the biopsies obtained directly
after exercise and 3 hours after exercise on the first day of exercise. The results differed when
analysis of the biopsies were obtained on the ninth day after the exercise routine had ended. This
also was tested one and three hours after exercise had stopped. The results showed that there was
in increase in FAT CD36 and CPT I genes. This shows that there is a direct relationship with
exercise training and the genes responsible for FA being taken across plasma membrane (FAT
CD36) and also for transport gene transporting across the mitochondrial membrane (CPT l). These
results show that that the researchers treatment for the study

A Room of One s Own Perception
In his novel The Hours, author Michael Cunningham describes his characters in a very unique way.
Cunningham portrays his characters through the descriptions of rooms in which each person
spends most of their day. The rooms become a window to each character s personality and personal
situation. Through reflection of her own room, Clarissa Vaughn comes to realize that she is
completely unhappy with the way her life has turned out. Similarly, Cunningham uses Laura Brown
s time in her kitchen and her two hour stay in a hotelroom to assess her mental standing. These
spaces are not only observed by their inhabitants, but also by those close to them. Clarissa s room
is observed by her old friend Louis and the reader is given much of Richard s room descriptions
through the assessment of Clarissa. These observations by others help the reader gain a sense of
not only how the certain character considers their own self, but also how they are perceived by
others. Each individual life intersects with another character, which link together characters that
seemingly would otherwise not be connected. These observations regarding each room come to not
only embody the mental state of each character, but also represent a form of imprisonment for each.
Richard is depicted through his apartment room as sullen and wasting away from his disease and
depression. Special emphasis is given in particular to the decrepit, ostentatiously broken and
worthless chair (59). The chair comes to symbolize

The World s Biggest Trader
Introduction Accounting for 20 percent of global imports and exports, the European Union
(EU) is the world s biggest trader. This should not come as a surprise because free trade among
its members is one of the founding principles of the EU. With trade policy being in the exclusive
jurisdiction of the EU, this creates new market opportunities for European exporters, workers
and investors. The creation of this global market also creates the need for the EU to protect the
interest of its 28 members from serious injury by resolving trade issues that go far beyond tariffs.
The Safeguards Agreement (SG Agreement) sets forth the rules for application of Safeguard
measures pursuant to Article XIX of the Global Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994.
These measures are temporary, emergency actions resulting in import restrictions that a country is
allowed to impose on a product if imports of that product are or have the potentiality to cause a
serious injury to a domestic injury of a directly competitive product. Safeguards are one of three
types of contingent trade protection measures, along with anti dumping and countervailing
measures, available to WTO Members. Imagine Company X, who exports sneakers to a country
Y. If country X imports sneakers in numbers in such ways that it affects the level of sales for the
domestic producer of sneakers in Country Y. Country Y may consider implementing a raise in
tariffs on sneakers so that Country Y s domestic producers may keep

Explication Of Lenore
When the poem begins, the narrator is sleeping. He has been reading late into the night, and at
around midnight a knocking sound wakes him. The knocking is unexpected, and starts him. He
reinforces himself that it is just a visitor.
The protagonist recalls the time of these events to be in December, and how the fire and its embers
seem to be casting ghostly shadows onto the floor. The protagonist mourns the loss of Lenore; the
speaker describes her a loving and benevolent way. He states that he had been reading late into the
night in order to escape his feelings of loss caused by Lenore s death.
The narrator sees his lavish, purple curtains, and they somehow fill him with a certain intense fear.

He feels fear and doubt. As he stood staring into the silent night, he begins to think thoughts that no
other person has ever thought, or dared to think. Through the silence, our speaker hears Lenore?
and, upon recognizing it as himself whispering it, hears what he describes as an echo speaking back
Lenore! And beyond that exchange, there was nothing else.
The narrator retreats, with a fear about him, into his chambers once again. He then hears a similar
tapping, albeit a louder one, from his window. He steels himself against the fear, commanding
himself be calm, and offers an explanation to himself of the noises origins: the wind.
When he opened the window, the namesake of the poem enters the room. The narrator describes the
Raven as elegant, and reminds the speaker of those high up in a hierarchal chain, such as lords.
The Raven gave no greetings as it sat on a bust the speaker has of Pallas.
The narrator seems to have found some enjoyment in the bird, and begins to feel less sad. He
begins to speak incredibly formally, and in a way playfully, to the Raven, and asks it for its name.

Summary Of The Robber Barons

Barons were businessmen who often earned their wealth in dishonest and greedy ways. Favorable

didn t care much for the lower class. Great fortune was made on the transcontinental railroad and
the oil industry. Both of these companies treated their workers poorly and paid them low wages.

The Climatic Conditions Of Nepal
Abstract Climatic conditions of Nepal vary from one place to another in accordance with the
geographical features. Climate change is changing our economy, health and communities in
diverse ways. The effects of rising temperatures are not only melting glaciers and sea ice, it s
also shifting precipitation patterns and setting animals on the move. The erratic rainfalls and
increase in frequency of extreme events such as floods and drought. Most of the big rivers of
Nepal are glacier fed and its main resources of water and hydroelectricity will be seriously affected
due to the ongoing changes in glacier reserves, snowfall and natural hazards. Nepal is largely a
mountainous country and current indications are that the mountain regions are more vulnerable
due to increased warming trends high variation in altitude with in very short distances. These
alarming trends not only make Nepal s major sectors of economy such as agriculture, tourism and
energy more vulnerable but also endanger the health, safety and wellbeing of Nepali people. The
main objective of the study is to identify the impacts of climatechange on the development
paradigm of the country in context of water resources. The prophecy behind this study is to add the

Reflection On Conflict Theory
In this class, the idea of Conflict Theory was brought up very early on. I really enjoy the concept
and find it incredibly useful when considering complex topics. Conflict theory, which was
originally a concept in which Karl Marx is largely attributed, theorizes that conflict arises due to
limited resources and the competition to secure those resources. The theory says that as long as
there is a limit on how much of something there is (and since we all live on a giant ball that has a
set amount of every resource, there always will be), then there will be people who fight to have
control of it. For me, I find this theory in action everywhere, and I routinely use it as a logical
deduction tool to deduce the underlying motivations of those around me.
Whenever I see something strange happening around me, the first thing I do is ask myself: Who
profits from this? How do they profit? Why would they do that? After that, I ask myself who else
would want whatever is in question. For example, if I was asked to find a root cause for the
ongoing conflict in the middle east, I would ask who benefits from it. Once I do that, I would
probably find that a very large portion of the U.S. economy is derived from the import and export
of petroleum, which is highly abundant in the area. In fact, if the U.S. were to lose the oil imported
from the middle east, then disastrous wouldn t even come close to describing the economic turmoil
that would ensue within the United States. From this, I would undoubtedly conclude that the U.S. (
some other European countries) are guilty of destabilizing the region in order to secure rights over
their oil.
But this theory does not just apply to global issues. The idea of conflict applies everywhere, from
knowing what a possible future employer wants to hear, to understanding how much you are
paying at the register when you go grocery shopping. In fact, both of these ideas had a large
impact on how I landed my first job.
When I was in high school, seniors were required to participate in a 200 hour internship at local
businesses in order to graduate. It was during this time that I got an interview at a company known
as Social Eyes Marketing as a website designer. In that interview, I was

The Crucial Role In The Urbanization Of Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt is a complicated period in history to understand how their society became urbanized
and how cities emerged in their region due to the geographical area along the Nile River. Through
excavations and analyses, historians have been able to conclude that the Ancient Egyptians valued
tombs and temples, and were in contact with the Near East due to rare findings of subterranean
domestic housing. Analyses of tombs, temples, and the rare findings of domesticated housing tell
the archeologists and historians about the urbanization process, however, these three features only
provide the scholars with a limited amount of knowledge due to robbing of tombs, deterioration of
buildings, and flooding of the Nile. Tombs play a crucial role in the urbanization of Ancient Egypt.
For instance, they imply that Egyptians highly valued caring for and the honoring the deceased.
Before dying, people would carefully select objects that they wanted to be placed in their tomb
with them. The objects placed in the tomb with them would then reach the afterlife with the
deceased person with the approval from Osiris (FOOTNOTE BOOK 83). However, many thieves
have broken into tombs in order to steal precious objects (FOOTNOTE). This limits scholars
knowledge on the urbanization of Ancient Egyptbecause these objects have been lost. A prime
example of this can be seen in Hierakonpolis. The excavated tombs showed evidence of urban
features from the paintings that remained in the tomb

Sanity And Insanity
Mental illness according to Webster dictionary is any of a broad range of medical conditions that
are marked primarily by sufficient disorganization of personality, mind, or emotions to impair
normal psychological functioning . How do you diagnose mental illness? Well therein lies the
problem. The line between mental illnessand insanityand sanity is very thin. In One Flew Over the
Cuckoo s Nest, Ken Kesey depicts the complex line between insanity in a world that oppresses the
mentally ill through the use of characterization, literary devices, themes and motifs.
When R.P. McMurphy arrived at the ward, the whole floor has an immediate reaction especially
the staff in charge. Kesey utilizes characterization to allow the ward to be perceived as weak in
the eyes of the reader. When the current patients and atmosphere of the ward are compared to
McMurphy s appearance and persona, the ward looks very vulnerable and defenseless.
McMurphy, described as talking loudr n you d think he needed (Kesey 11) and [sounding big]

ward. In contrast to McMurphy, the ward is described as pee stinkin mattresses (Kesey 9) and
mornings with cold mush (Kesey 9). The two opposing descriptions allows establishment of
authority of McMurphy over the other patients before he even actually meets them. Also in contrast

The Importance Of Censorship In Music
Censorship is a broad topic that can lead to chaos and misunderstanding if not clearly conveyed
for what it is. For example, rock music, the first major threat to traditional thinking caused a divide
between generations because of how different and explicit it became in the mid 1900s. It s no
surprise there were people ready to combat rock music. However, what is surprising is the fact that
so much happened with so little change in the music around us. Censorship if anything only helped
intensify the differences between society.
Controversy and censorship in music was around long before the rock music. In fact, a genre called
the blues consistently dealt with the imposed censorship on their recordings (McDonald, 1988,
pp.295 296). Also race spiked the urge to censor rock and roll even further. With some of the
leading people such as Chuck Berry and Little Richard being people of color it was no surprise that
there was outrage over their music. Where things get even more traumatic is when the Ku Klux Klan
(KKK) who was a radical racist group told the public not to buy Negro records because they
were poisoning the youth. This depicts the fact that racism was a heavy combatant against any
form of rock and roll. Race played its part in many forms of music (jazz, blues, etc.), but rock
music was seen as a major starting point for censorship since it caused such a major divide
between the youth and adults (McDonald, 1988, p.297). In today s society, I believe that genres of

He was drawn by the English Arts and Crafts Movement and chose to write about John Ruskin s
essay, Seven Lamps of Architecture. Maekawa was intrigued by how Ruskin defined the
architectural detail of architects work. This made him more interested to find out what
architecture was (Maekawa, 1984). He visited projects around Tokyo, and even got the chance to
see Frank Lloyd Wright s Imperial Hotel but was disappointed by the lack of information
(Maekawa, 1984). He read an architectural journal, Architectural Forum, and was not fascinated
because there was no information of the design or the aesthetics. It seems magazines in the 1920 s
were somewhat conservative (Maekawa, 1984).
Maekawa entered Tokyo Imperial University in 1925 to pursue his architecture education and it
was there when he was able to be exposed to the European trends (Maekawa, 1984). He learned
about the Western and Japanese architectural history and took field trips to shrines and temples
(Maekawa, 1984). He graduated from Tokyo Imperial University in 1928 (Maekawa, 1984). He was
then eluded by Europe s modernism where he later pursued his belief of modernism in Paris by
working under, the well known architect, LeCorbusier (Maekawa, 1984).

Billfish
The general term billfish describes a number of species of long, predatory fish characterized by
long, sword like bills. It includes sailfish and swordfish. They are generally exploited for both
food and game. Swordfish, in particular, are prized for their firm, tasty flesh. While the long beaks
have been observed in anger to spear objects such as small boats, their main function is to stun prey.
Different Lures For Blue Marlin
Artificial lures, live and natural bait have all been successfully employed to capture the blue
marlin. The most popular technique seems to be artificial lure fishing, which was developed in
Hawaii. Among the earliest artificial lures were chrome towel rails tied with strips of rubber taken
from inner tubes. Four or more such lures are fastened together and trolled behind boats at speeds
of between 7 and 15 knots.

Immunotherapy of virus associated cancers can be directed against viral antigens vital for viral
replication or growth. The human papillomavirus (HPV) E6 and E7 proteins interfere with normal
cell cycle regulation and are required for the viral life cycle.
Examples of tumer antigen are
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG): A glycoprotein hormone produced during pregnancy.
Some cancerous tumors produce this hormone; therefore, elevated levels measured when the patient
is not pregnant can lead to a cancer diagnosis.
Alpha Fetoprotein (AFP): Major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac and the liver during fetal
development The human fetus has the highest amount of AFP levels found in humans. Normal
adult levels are usually achieved by the age of 8 to 12 months. The function of AFP in adults is
unknown; however, in fetus it binds estradiol to prevent the transport of this hormone across the
placenta.
Prostate Specific Antigen: Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by cells of the

Ictober Research Papers
The ink left nothing untouched, staining and smudging the table, scratch paper, and even my
hand. A mess of paper and ink surrounded me, but only one area was left organized. My
sketchbook that I filled with meticulous work and effort for the past 30 days stared back at me.
Thirty days of work filled the sketchbook to the brim, both the good and bad. I finally finished the
final piece I had completed InkTober.
InkTober is a social media phenomenon that took the artist world by storm. For every day of

Most of my pieces consisted of fanart or simple original pieces exploring inking styles. I
admittedly favored one series, Love Live!, over the others, but I was grateful for the inspiration.
Some drawings I practiced perspective and colors, like the first and fourth day respectively, others
I tested styles of shading and texture. Going from a pencil sketch, to simple lining, and finally to
detailed inking was a fulfilling experience.
I would finish inking the drawing for the day and quickly sketch an outline for the following day
in pencil. This schedule was helpful and time efficient since the most time consuming part of
drawing is figuring out what to draw and how to start it. However, I could only do this due to the
leniency of my school schedule and sparse amount of homework at that time. So when work
started picking up at school two weeks into October, it became a struggle to finish one day s
drawing, not to mention preparing for the following days.
The output and quality of my art in the middle of the month took a drop as I began studying for
tests, in class writings, and the PSAT. It was at this time that Inktober became a real challenge.
Not only do you have to plan and compose a drawing, but you have to manage your schedule and
make time to do so. Unlike professional artists or people with flexible jobs, students are hard
pressed with their school schedule and extracurricular

Casey And Goliath Similarities
In the poem Casey at the bat and the story David and Goliath there are similarities and

they are both confident. In David and Goliath it says, Today the Lord will help me defeat you. I

characters are brave. In Casey at the bat it says, That ain t my style, said Casey. Strike one, the
umpire said. Also it says, But Casey still ignored it, and the umpire said, Strike two. This shows
that Casey is brave because he let two of the three balls go by him. In David and Goliath it says

The Success Of A College Student
President Obama was once quoted saying, By the end of this decade two in three job openings
will require some higher education. Two in three. And yet, we still live in a country where too
many Americans are priced out of the education they need. which is a pretty depressing statement
to hear from our commander in chief regarding the future of the people. America is known for
being the land of opportunity where typically the favored goal of the people is acquiring wealth
for a better lifestyle and future. Growing up as a kid I was always told by my teachers and parents
that higher educationafter high schoolis extremely necessary; this same expectation goes for the
whole country as there is clearly emphasis on getting a college degree in order to be successful.
Although college may not be for everyone, there are those who would really like to gain
acceptance to an institution, but cannot because they do not have the money to do so. The rise in
cost to be a college student has become too expensive for a country that encourages, and emphasizes
higher education. Tuition and fees, loans, and extra expenses become a big price to pay for
wanting to play the proper role in society as a student looking for a better future. Today s college
students have to deal with a huge financial decision at a very young age that leads to frustration
and confusion which is caused by the inflating prices of college tuition. As decades have passed, it
is clear that the cost of college

while Lima s parks and street art are beautiful examples of modern art and pull dozens of different
cultures together. Lima and Cusco differ in an infinite number of ways, but both cities stand out,
especially when it comes to food, attractions, and city life.

Peru as a whole is known for speaking very clear and easy to understand Spanish. Many say that it
is the easiest to speak and understand. Overall, Peruvians have mild accents and speak slower than
their neighboring countries, such as Colombia and Chile. Although slang exists in both cities, it is
not only simple and self explanatory, but they are also words and phrases used throughout the
country. For example, in both parts of the country, the word flaca, which is literally translated to
skinny, means girlfriend. On the same note, the word guachimГЎn means watchman in Peru. In
parts of South America, changing cities means learning an entire new language, but in Peru, that is
not necessary. If one studies Spanish in Lima, he would easily be able to use the vocabulary and
slang from Lima in Cusco without a

Analysis Of Gang Related
After many mixtapes and nearing the edge of household name status, Maryland rapper Logic
drops his first album. In this album is a song titled Gang Related. This song tells the story of
what environment and household he grew up in. His brother is in a gang and sells cocaine to
his father in front of him. Logic s mother is in an out of mental institutions, all the while logic is
growing up and trying not to get shot when he walks outside. With drugs and gangs all around
him, it is quite amazing that he got out and become a famous rapper. Gang Related also has a
core message of stopping the violence, which leads to a question, is this song about his story or
a message about ending the violence? Gang Related starts out with logic saying Yeah, livin life
like this/ Gotta paint a picture when I write like this/ Tales from my hood, not a sight like this .
Early on it would seem that this song is clearly about telling a story. Use of the terms of painting
a picture and tales is a classic way to talk about telling a story. Through this first verse, logic
grows up from being a baby to teenage waking up in the middle of the night thinking there is an
intruder. In most stories, growing up and changing is common. In the second verse, he switches
to the view of his brother, who does whatever needed to keep his family safe. Logic uses a common
way of telling a story, by changing view point. In this first verse, he only allows the audience to
see him as a scared boy unsure of this

Haggai, Zechariah, And Malachi
While there is some speculation in regards to the authorship of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi,
the general scholarly consensus is that all three share titular authors. Haggai and Zechariah were
contemporaries; however, while Haggai s messages were only in a short period in 520 b.c.,
Zechariah s ministry stretched from 520 b.c., until after 480 b.c. Malachi was likely a
contemporary of Nehemiah, and it is likely that his book was written in 433 b.c., right after
Nehemiah returned from Persia. (NIV Study Bible)
Haggai is divided into four different messages: He begins with a call to rebuild the temple,
explaining how the people s refusal to rebuild the Lord s house has brought curses upon them. He
then encourages the people in his second message, instructing the people ... Show more content on

His third message largely addresses the principles of being unclean. Haggai s final message
speaks to Zerubbabel of the eventual defeat of the Gentile kingdoms that have opposed Israel for
so long. It is in this message that he reveals that Zerubbabel is chosen of the Lord. Zechariah is
also divided into four sections. It begins with a call to repentance, then later describes eight
separate visions Zechariah has in the same night. The second section ends with an oracle about
Joshua. The third message of Zechariah rebukes the people for how they have turned away from
God. It explains how the Israelites have ignored God in their rituals and placed more importance in
the rituals themselves than God. The final area of Zechariah is about two oracles. One concerns the
coming and subsequent rejection of Christ, then the second coming and reception of

Tiffany Co
Specific Product: Tiffany
Description: Tiffany amp; Co is the world s most celebrated jeweler, with an unrivalled reputation
for sophisticated luxury.
Organization/Company: Tiffany amp; Co Company
1. What ethical concerns could arise in marketing this product?
The factory associated with Tiffany opened in 2007 and Indian and Mauritian artisans came to
train the Botswana employees. But the article tells us that the workers went on strike, in protest
against the working conditions: they say the plant is prisonlike , they are threatened by the
managers and have no right to variable salaries like other employees. Tiffany is faced with a real
ethical dilemma: to avoid blood diamond sourcing, the brand has to transfer know how ... Show

Also included are establishments retailing these new products in combination with lapidary work
and/or repair services.
5. How could external factors (such as social, demographic, economic or technological) impact this
product?
Social: Tiffany recognized the growing number of consumers demanding luxury at mid level
prices and decided to use this trend to its advantage by appealing to these middle income
Americans. Tiffany did this by adding less expensive items to its collection, including more
sterling silver, which appeals to younger women as some items retail for as low as $100.
Demographic: Tiffany s is always on the lookout for new customers. With 71 million Americans
born between 1977 and 1994, there is a new generation entering adulthood. This segment spends
over $36.3 billion on clothes and jewelry annually, according to Standard amp; Poor s. This
segment is the largest spending segment, with women from the ages of 34 to 54 coming in second.
As reported from the U.S Department of Commerce, U.S personal consumption expenditures have
risen from 250 billion to 1 trillion over the last 29 years.
Economic: The luxury goods industry quickly rebounded following the United States economic
downturn in 2001, partly due to the increasing trend of middle income American consumers
demanding luxury at every level. There will always be a luxury consumer, and they ll continue to
spend whether there are wars

Eliminating Religion from Daily Life with the...
During the revolutionary era in France, in which the National Convention took control of
revolutionary France, a new calendar was adopted. This revolutionary calendar was implemented
in November of 1793, in an attempt to replace the Gregorian calendar completely. The National
Convention adopted a new calendar in France at the time of a revolution in an attempt to increase
the number of work days on peasants and reduce the influence of Christianity throughout the
country; however most of the general public as well as government officials reacted negatively.
One major reason as of why the revolutionary calendar was put into effect was in order to eliminate
religion from daily life. The traditional Gregorian calendarwas originally... Show more content on

However because this article was written under Napoleon I, and from the perspective of people
who did not agree with the calendar the article may be very biased. Another reason for the
adoption of a new calendar is that the government did not want religion to determine the lives of
the French people. According to Pierre Joseph, the Jacobins were attempting to rid France of
religion and the old order by replacing it with Deism (Document eight). With the incorporation
of deism into everyday life people could focus more on reason, being less influenced by religion.
However, because Pierre Joseph was a Girondin he was very opposed to the views of the
Jocobins, so of course he believed the removal of religion from French society to have negative
impacts. Less religious aspects in everyday life would allow the French people to be more
productive by reducing their time to worship, in turn giving them more time to work. The
revolutionary calendar sought out to improving productivity among the peasantry. The National
Convention stated that the Gregorian calendar had too many religious holidays. One of the
complaints in the Cahier de Doleances included the limitation on the number of religious holidays
so that the so called great people were no longer a disadvantage to the state (Document one). In
order to make the French people more productive there needed to be a reduction in the

Interview Questions and Answers
The Best Answers to Tough Interview Questions Tell me about yourself. This is really more of a
request than a question. But these few words can put you on the spot in a way no question can.
Many quickly lose control of the interview during the most critical time the first five minutes. This
is not the time to go into a lengthy history or wander off in different directions. Your response
should be focused and purposeful. Communicate a pattern of interests and skills that relate to the
position in question. Consider your response to this question as a commercial that sells your
autobiography. Provide an answer that includes information about where you grew up, where you
went to school, your initial work experience, additional education and... Show more content on

Such responses indicate a lack of long term interest since you do not plan to be around for long.
While some may respond that they honestly haven t really thought that far ahead, the interviewer
infers that the applicant lacks vision and goals. Describe a major goal you ve set for yourself
recently. Give an example of a goal you both set and achieved. Ideally, this should be a
professional goal; such as improved time management skills, achieved new performance targets,
or learned a new skill. A personal example can also be appropriate if it reinforces your pattern of
accomplishments. For example, if you take a great deal of initiative and quickly move into
leadership positions, you might use a personal example relating to your recent community work:
organized a community walk a thon that raised $30,000 in matching funds to purchase new
computers for the local library. Talk about results of achieving your goal. This indicates you set
realistic goals and that you can focus on outcomes. Select an example that has interesting
outcomes related to your efforts. The example should showcase your skills and abilities. Now that
you ve had a chance to learn more about us, what would you change about our company? Be
careful here. Most companies don t want you to come in and shake up the place. At the same time,
they don t want someone who says, Nothing, everything looks great here. Seek a middle ground by

Adler s Theory Of Personality
First of all, Adler s theory believes that personality is formed during the first five years of life
(Adler, A.,1927). By this age a child develops his/her style of life, and it is critical in his/her
personality development. The narrator experiences neglect during these periods: And after
some work with a colored pencil I succeeded in making my first drawing. My Drawing Number
One. I showed my masterpiece to the grown ups, and asked them whether the drawing frightened
them. But they answered: Frighten? Why should anyone be frightened by a hat? My drawing
was not a picture of a hat. It was a picture of a boa constrictor digesting an elephant. But since the
grown ups were not able to understand it, I made another drawing: I drew the inside of the boa
constrictor, so that the grown ups could see it clearly. They always need to have things
explained. The grown ups response, this time, was to advise me to lay aside my drawings of boa
constrictors, whether from the inside or the outside, and devote myself instead to geography,
history, arithmetic and grammar. That is why, at the age of six, I gave up what might have been
a magnificent career as a painter. I had been disheartened by the failure of my Drawing Number
One and my Drawing Number Two. Grown ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is
tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them (de Saint ExupГ©ry, A.,
1999). According to Adler s theory, neglect is critical in a child s

Howard Hughes H 4 Hercules Research Paper
1.)Explain why this person has had significant impact. When most people think of Howard
Hughes, they probably don t think of a billionaire Filmmaker, instead the thing that comes to
mind is most likely the Hughes H 4 Hercules, better known as the Spruce Goose. This aircraft is
one of the largest ever constructed and it was first flown over 70 years ago (H 4 Hercules Flying
Boat, n.d.). This aircraft, although one of Hughes most impressive, was merely one of countless
aviation records he set. Hughes s first aviation record was merely a straight line speed record of
212 mph, but this sparked his interest leading to countless other records (Fame, 2017). One of these
included a transcontinental flight record set in 1937 which stood through... Show more content on

One great example is the aim to build streamlined aircraft capable of high speed and efficiency.
Hughes rigorous pursuit of building the very best aircraft continues to this day. Almost all
modern aircraft use flush rivets and smooth streamlined surfaces to cut through the air. Another
of Hughes s contributions was simply inspiring public interest in aviation. The Hughes H 4
Hercules, although not a success by most defections, still motivates public interest in aviation
today. Displayed in a museum, what was for a very long time the world s largest aircraft is a
sight to behold and will probably inspire future aviators for decades to come. Before that his
movie Hell s Angels immeasurably changed the public perception of aviation, and although it is
not known for sure, that movie was likely an inspiration to many who have changed the path of
aviation for the better. Another of Hughes s contributions, although not directly related to aviation,
Hughes Electronics Corporation founded what is one of the largest providers of satellite
television, DirecTV. Hughes had a space division as early as the 60 s, but it wasn t until after his
death that this division split off. Hughes Electronics Corporation was founded in 1985 and built
primarily satellites, up until it stepped into the satellite telecom service sector (Amir, n.d.). As of
the year 2000, forty percent of all operating satellites

Goddess Of Brilliance And The Moon Essay
The Titaness of Brilliance and the Moon, or prophetic radiance is what Phoebe, a Greek
mythological Titan, was what she was commonly called. Although she was never referred to as
the goddess of the moon, she is often associated with Selene, who is the goddess of the moon
(Luna in Latin). She is also associated with Saturn, the sixth planet from the sun. In almost every
picture of Phoebe, she is placed next to the moon with a shield and bow and arrows. Phoebe was
not one of the most popular or well known Titans in Greek mythology, she was often always in the
background of everything. Although there is little information about her, she still is a major
goddess because she was one of the first twelve Titans, which explains why she took the side of
the Titans in the War of the Titans. She also happens to take part in the ancient Greeks creation
myth story. Phoebe is the daughter of Uranus (Sky) and Gaea (Earth). Which means she was part
of the very first dynasty of the ancient Greek gods. There is no information of how or when she
was born, only information about her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, her Roman counterpart was Dione. Her legend and myth plays an extremely important role
in the history of Ancient Greek mythology and the study of Greek classics. Her mother Gaea
gave her place to her one of her sisters, (Themis), whom then gave it to Phoebe. She was the third
prophet at the Oracle of Delphi, and according the to Aeschylus myth, Phoebe constantly felt like
she was carrying an enormous burden. Therefore, she decided to give the Oracle of Delphi to her
grandson Apollo as a birthday present. Since Apollo was so grateful that he presided over the
lights of the heavens. She also recalls hearing her mothers voice during the Oracle of Delphi. But,
because of her being that resembled mortals that possessed magical and mystic personalities, she
was often golden crowned or golden wreathed

Sexual Orientation Controversy
The word gay is a difficult word to define in our society and with so much controversy people
must be careful on their ideas surrounding the subject. However out of the four categories
discussed to depict sexual orientation is would have to be the fourth and final one which is
claimed sexual orientation. For the first chose it was anything ever which is not correct because a
majority of the times adolescents are confused or bored. They might want to experience something
new so they give it a try. However they might decide that they do not like the same sex and from
there on out be hetersexual. Therefore it is not correct to label them gayjust because they ve done
something gay due to the fact they felt they needed to do that action in order

Ancient Egypt Mummification
Ancient Egyptians are one of the most fascinated time period, which they experience some of the
earliest developments of writing, agriculture, religion, and central government. If I could go back in
time, it would be when the Ancient Egyptian began. The Ancient Egyptian started around 3100
B.C.E (Before Common Era). I want to learn their lifestyle, their religion and of course their
mummification. Its amazing how even back in the Ancients Egyptianstime they had makeup, but it
wasn t just women who wore makeup, men also whore makeup. The dramatic makeup imitated
the facial markings of Horus, god of sun. Horus was portrayed as a falcon. The smokey kohl
liner served both as a practical and ritualistic purposes. It was thought to repel flies, protect their
eyes from the sun rays, and to ward off infection. Egyptians mothers would apply kohl to the
eyes of their infants as soon after they were born believing it would strengthen the child and
preventing them from being cursed by the evil eye . They also used a type of Rouge to stain their
lips and cheeks. The makeup was achieved by the use of ochre. To make the ochre used for... Show

  • 2. The Minimum Driving Age The achievement of a driver s license is a rite of passage for a large number of adolescents and young adults in the United States. Societally, the driver s license is representative of a key to the outside world, and, in some ways, it is also thought of as being one of the first steps into adulthood. This perceived importance leads numerous fifteen and sixteen year olds to obtain their license as quickly as they possibly can which can be dangerous. According to the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS), drivers who are between sixteen to nineteen years old are at the greatest risk of being involved in a fatal crash, and sixteen and seventeen year olds also are at nearly twice the risk of eighteen and nineteen year olds. This has led some experts to call for a raise to the minimum drivingage. While this is an understandable conclusion to come to, this is not necessarily the best course of action. There are other programs which can decrease the fatal crash rate, which can alleviate the crash concern. Otherwise, the ability to drive is, as stated above, an important step towards adulthood, and it provides maturity. Additionally, due to the lack of public transportor other safe ways to travel from place to place, the ability to drive provides younger Americans with mobility so that they can work, go to school, and also be with friends. For these reasons, the minimum driving age must stay at sixteen. In Texas and other states, the minimum age for obtaining a full ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Freedom Is Overrated Aidan Erbter Schuster Advanced Placement Language and Composition December 15, 2017 Freedom is overrated Imagine a world where laws and rules were never in place. Citizens would run rampant and people would commit crimes without any consequence for their actions. Now imagine a world where freedom was non existent. Everyone s actions and behaviors would coincide with one another, as if they were robots. Straying from the extremes, H. L. Mencken an American writer wrote that the average man would rather be safe than free. To completely understand his statement, you must look at a specific word. The average man. H. L. Mencken is right because people would rather have laws to protect themselves, people want to live comfortable lives, and the people who diverge from what society tends to do are more than the average person. In America, and a large majority of countries, you are born with a little bit of freedom. Freedom is offered in schools and homes. Once people grow up, and earn their freedom, they are allowed to roam the streets and say what they want to say and do what they want to do. But with freedom, there must be laws. Laws prevent people from stepping across the line and hurting others. These laws aren t to make our government appear more superior than its citizens, but to provide protection and safety for its people. With this safety, people sacrifice some of their freedom. People still retain a large amount of freedom, but some must be given over for the sake of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Cranberry and Berries Essay National Cranberry Cooperative Case 20090562 Political Science Junki Hong To begin with, this assignment is done with Kim Seo Yeon (20100472, Sociology). National Cranberry Cooperative Case is the study done by the Harvard Business School about a process of warehousing from the delivery and arriving of cranberry to a manufacturing in the warehouse. National Cranberry Cooperative was an organization formed and owned by growers of cranberries to process and markets their berries. The handling of process fruit RP1 was highly mechanized. The process could be classified into several operations; receiving and testing, dumping, temporary holding, destroying, dechaffing, drying separation and bulking and bagging. In addition, wet bin capacity is 3,200 barrels so, according to hourly inventory increasing rate, after passing 5.25 hours, trucks should wait to unload berries. Moreover, overworks should be done for 22.2 hours because workers should dry 13,300 barrels of the berries, but the drying capacity is only 600 barrel per hour besides the arrival rate is 1,210 barrels per hour. To solve this problem, I would recommend to add dryers ($25,000 per each and capacity increases 200 barrels per each) or wet bins ($5,000 per each and capacity increases 250 barrels per each) for short term. We can suggest three options to solve this matter. First, we can add no dryers but convert 15 bins. Second, we can add a dryer and convert 6 bins too. Third, we can add 2 dryers, not to convert any bins. As first option, we need only additional cost of $75,000, which is calculated by $5,000 x 15 bins. By practicing first option, the wet bin storage increases to 6,950, so we can cover all the arrivals of the berries this is done for not to make trucks to wait. In the second option, when we add a dryer, we can handle 800 barrels per hour in drying process and we can reduce the overworking time from 22.2 hour to 16.6 hour. (13,300 barrel / 800 barrel equals to 16.6 hours per a day) We can estimate overtime saved cost and it is closely related to labor cost. Labor cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The s The House Is Black Forugh Farrokhzad s The House is Black is a harrowing, disturbing, artfully made documentary, one of the few films directed by the Iranian poet Farrokhzad. Her subject here is leprosy, and she looks directly, uncompromisingly, at the devastation that this disease causes the human body. She does not look away, not from the cruelest deformations this disease generates. Her purpose was to expose the punishing and superfluous way that lepers continued to be treated in Iran, funneled into quarantined leper colonies where their disease went relatively untreated, causing them to slowly and painfully degenerate. Farrokhzad s filmwas deliberate in raising cognizance about these conditions, and to emphasize that this situation need not be. Produced during the reign of statist documentary cinema, Farrokhzad s work was a wild contrast from the other documentary films created in this timeframe. Farrokhzad s The House is Black deliberately and openly disobeyed the official style of Iranian documentaries during the 1960s, paving the way for Iranian New Wave cinema. From striking mirror scenes to deep pans of a classroom, Farrokhzad s auteurist interventions are more obvious than subtle although Farrokhzad s directorial hand is heavy in The House is Black, this documentary was among the first to reflect a powerful yet unnoticed reality against the wishes of the Iranian government. Demands from customers is constantly and rapidly changing in terms of the sophistication of the products and services they require and because of this, interest on performance measurement and management (PMM) has notably increased in the last 20 to 30 years. This report discusses the problems and difficulties of performance measurement and management system design interventions of management accounting fields in today s business environment. It also gives a literature review, critical analysis and findings on this topic. PROBLEMATIC ASPECTS All through history, many organisations have used performance tools to assess the success of the organisation. Assessment of performance has predominantly been based on financial criteria since the Middle Ages. (Burns, 1998). Performance measurement tools are used to monitor what management is doing with factors such as share price, return on investment, profit percentage, sales volume etc. There was a growing development in the 1980s that traditional performance measures were no longer adequate enough to manage organisations competing in modern environments. It has been put to the attention of many authors on this topic that financial information is historical and gives insufficient indication of the company s performance. It lacks strategic focus and often inhibits innovations. However, it encourages short term goals. It usually focusses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She went through a lot meeting different people specifically men to help her understand what she really wanted in her future. Throughout her life, Janie was on a mission to chase her dreams and find her happiness by experiencing new horizons, which suggest that in order to be happy one has to push out of the comfort zone. Janie was the kind of woman who was always striving for better things. While living in a small town, she always dreamed of living in a better place. From a young age, she was bold enough to be sure she wasn t going to stay with her grandma for a long time. This was because her Nanny was always sure to shrink her horizons, and Janie didn t appreciate that. Bentham brought together various elements from these thinkers to construct his version of the principle of UTILITY. UTILITARIANISM: Jeremy Bentham was a leading theorist in Anglo American philosophy of law and one of the founders of utilitarianism. He developed this idea of a utility and a utilitarian calculus in the Introduction to the Principles of Morals and Legislation (1781).In the beginning of that work Bentham wrote: Nature has placed mankind under the governance of two sovereign masters, pain and pleasure. It is for them alone to point out what we ought to do, as well as to determine what we shall do. On the one hand the standard of right and wrong, on the other the chain of causes and effects, are fastened to their throne. They govern us in all we do, in all we say, in all we think: every effort we can make to throw off our subjection, will serve but to demonstrate and confirm it. Bentham believed that pain and pleasure not only explain our actions but also help us define what is good and moral. He believed that this foundation could provide a basis for social, legal, and moral reform in society. To determine whether an action is moral you merely have to calculate the good ... • 9. How Does Prufrock Show The Importance Of Time T. S. Eliot s main purpose for writing The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is to show the importance of time. Prufrock, the main character and narrator of the story seems to think he has plenty of time to sit around and wait forever to ask, whom we assume is someone he likes, an overwhelming question (page 2524). Prufrock seems to be a big procrastinator, and uses the timehe should be using to make excuses as to why he shouldn t rush since he has time later. Time for you and time for me, And time yet for a hundred indecisions, And for a hundred visions and revisions, Before the taking of a toast and tea (page 2525). In this quote Prufrock seems to stall his question even more deciding that there is time to be indecisive before taking his toast and tea. Prufrock s stalling and convincing of himself that there is more time, is exactly what makes him not have time and grow old. Before we know it, Prufrock is an old man who now wonders whether or not he should have used his time wisely when he was younger and would it have been worth it, after all (page 2526). In the end, there is nothing he can do to get back the time he wasted so he simply walks the beaches wondering whether the mermaids will come sing to him. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the value of the stock had been below $45 for 4 months, the offer of 55 dollars represented a 29% premium to investors. • 12. The Human Response On An Ignition Hole For The Vehicle Essay The focus of this paper is to highlight the human response in relation to an action, in this case turning the key in an ignition, once it has been inserted into the correct ignition hole for the vehicle. The aim is to identify the brain response with the haptic perceptions and to a lesser extent the visual perceptions that are involved when completing the instruction set. Before I begin to explain how we complete this instruction I would like to explain some functions of our brain and how it relates to completing this task. Before anything can begin the process to turn the key in the ignition must begin with the decision to complete the task. The area responsible is called the prefrontal cortex (PFC) which is the cerebral cortex located in the frontal lobe. Although this area is implicated in planning complex cognitive behaviour, personality expression, decision making and moderating social behaviour (Yang, 2009) we are primarily interested in its effect on decision making in relation to our instruction set chosen. This region of the brain is considered to be responsible for alignment of thoughts and actions in accordance with internal goals, in this case getting the key to the ignition and turning the key the appropriate amount to complete the action of turning on the vehicle. Another area of the brain responsible for assisting in the completion of our task is the premotor cortex also lying in the frontal lobe just anterior to the primary motor cortex. I affirm these gospel truths, with the understanding that my confidence in these truths grows progressively over time. These beliefs are great cause for joy. Far more than just words on a page, they are precious gifts from God. I.The Scriptures. I believe that the 66 books of the Bible are God s word revealed to us, written by God s apostles and prophets. In its original manuscripts it contains truth without error as it unfolds the story of God his creation, our fall, his redemption and restoration; therefore it is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union. The Scriptures are the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried. II.The Triune God. We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God. He is an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth, glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible worship, trust, and love. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but complimentary offices in the great work of redemption. a. ... In a joint study with Deakin University, Australia, and University of Waterloo, Ontario Canada, students analyzed increases in lipid metabolism gene expression in human skeletal muscle tissue after exercise training. Looking at previous studies, endurance exercise elicits increased metabolism of fatty acids (FA) and carbohydrates, in relation with the metabolismof FA it has been shown that up regulated genes exhibit their corresponding proteins to transport, initiate, bind, and increase enzyme activity in response to exercise. Therefore the hypothesis is that certain genes will show expression and the expression of the corresponding proteins will be more abundant after acute exercise and after an individual has gone through a short term... Once samples were obtained they were placed in liquid nitrogen, once ready for testing of the sample the researchers used Real Time PCR and corresponding lab chemicals and procedures to get results of gene expression. In addition to the muscle biopsy they tested VO2 peak, blood glucose and lactose levels, and heart rate exchange. These results were used to analyze fat oxidation. After the nine day exercise bout the initial FA oxidation had increased in the skeletal muscle by 24%. This increase equates to be 4.5 g of oxidized fat. The analysis of the results shows gene expression when measured after acute exercise showed no significant change in FA uptake and breakdown in the (FABP), and (FAT CD36) genes. It also had no significant change in the corresponding transcription factors. These results are from the biopsies obtained directly after exercise and 3 hours after exercise on the first day of exercise. The results differed when analysis of the biopsies were obtained on the ninth day after the exercise routine had ended. This also was tested one and three hours after exercise had stopped. The results showed that there was in increase in FAT CD36 and CPT I genes. This shows that there is a direct relationship with exercise training and the genes responsible for FA being taken across plasma membrane (FAT CD36) and also for transport gene transporting across the mitochondrial membrane (CPT l). These results show that that the researchers treatment for the study ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. A Room of One s Own Perception In his novel The Hours, author Michael Cunningham describes his characters in a very unique way. Cunningham portrays his characters through the descriptions of rooms in which each person spends most of their day. The rooms become a window to each character s personality and personal situation. Through reflection of her own room, Clarissa Vaughn comes to realize that she is completely unhappy with the way her life has turned out. Similarly, Cunningham uses Laura Brown s time in her kitchen and her two hour stay in a hotelroom to assess her mental standing. These spaces are not only observed by their inhabitants, but also by those close to them. Clarissa s room is observed by her old friend Louis and the reader is given much of Richard s room descriptions through the assessment of Clarissa. These observations by others help the reader gain a sense of not only how the certain character considers their own self, but also how they are perceived by others. Each individual life intersects with another character, which link together characters that seemingly would otherwise not be connected. These observations regarding each room come to not only embody the mental state of each character, but also represent a form of imprisonment for each. Richard is depicted through his apartment room as sullen and wasting away from his disease and depression. Special emphasis is given in particular to the decrepit, ostentatiously broken and worthless chair (59). The chair comes to symbolize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This should not come as a surprise because free trade among its members is one of the founding principles of the EU. With trade policy being in the exclusive jurisdiction of the EU, this creates new market opportunities for European exporters, workers and investors. The creation of this global market also creates the need for the EU to protect the interest of its 28 members from serious injury by resolving trade issues that go far beyond tariffs. The Safeguards Agreement (SG Agreement) sets forth the rules for application of Safeguard measures pursuant to Article XIX of the Global Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994. These measures are temporary, emergency actions resulting in import restrictions that a country is allowed to impose on a product if imports of that product are or have the potentiality to cause a serious injury to a domestic injury of a directly competitive product. Safeguards are one of three types of contingent trade protection measures, along with anti dumping and countervailing measures, available to WTO Members. • 29. Reflection On Conflict Theory In this class, the idea of Conflict Theory was brought up very early on. I really enjoy the concept and find it incredibly useful when considering complex topics. Conflict theory, which was originally a concept in which Karl Marx is largely attributed, theorizes that conflict arises due to limited resources and the competition to secure those resources. The theory says that as long as there is a limit on how much of something there is (and since we all live on a giant ball that has a set amount of every resource, there always will be), then there will be people who fight to have control of it. For me, I find this theory in action everywhere, and I routinely use it as a logical deduction tool to deduce the underlying motivations of those around me. Whenever I see something strange happening around me, the first thing I do is ask myself: Who profits from this? How do they profit? Why would they do that? After that, I ask myself who else would want whatever is in question. For example, if I was asked to find a root cause for the ongoing conflict in the middle east, I would ask who benefits from it. Once I do that, I would probably find that a very large portion of the U.S. economy is derived from the import and export of petroleum, which is highly abundant in the area. In fact, if the U.S. were to lose the oil imported from the middle east, then disastrous wouldn t even come close to describing the economic turmoil that would ensue within the United States. From this, I would undoubtedly conclude that the U.S. ( some other European countries) are guilty of destabilizing the region in order to secure rights over their oil. But this theory does not just apply to global issues. The idea of conflict applies everywhere, from knowing what a possible future employer wants to hear, to understanding how much you are paying at the register when you go grocery shopping. In fact, both of these ideas had a large impact on how I landed my first job. When I was in high school, seniors were required to participate in a 200 hour internship at local businesses in order to graduate. It was during this time that I got an interview at a company known as Social Eyes Marketing as a website designer. In that interview, I was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Crucial Role In The Urbanization Of Ancient Egypt Ancient Egypt is a complicated period in history to understand how their society became urbanized and how cities emerged in their region due to the geographical area along the Nile River. Through excavations and analyses, historians have been able to conclude that the Ancient Egyptians valued tombs and temples, and were in contact with the Near East due to rare findings of subterranean domestic housing. Analyses of tombs, temples, and the rare findings of domesticated housing tell the archeologists and historians about the urbanization process, however, these three features only provide the scholars with a limited amount of knowledge due to robbing of tombs, deterioration of buildings, and flooding of the Nile. Tombs play a crucial role in the urbanization of Ancient Egypt. For instance, they imply that Egyptians highly valued caring for and the honoring the deceased. Before dying, people would carefully select objects that they wanted to be placed in their tomb with them. The objects placed in the tomb with them would then reach the afterlife with the deceased person with the approval from Osiris (FOOTNOTE BOOK 83). However, many thieves have broken into tombs in order to steal precious objects (FOOTNOTE). This limits scholars knowledge on the urbanization of Ancient Egyptbecause these objects have been lost. A prime example of this can be seen in Hierakonpolis. The excavated tombs showed evidence of urban features from the paintings that remained in the tomb ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How do you diagnose mental illness? Well therein lies the problem. The line between mental illnessand insanityand sanity is very thin. In One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, Ken Kesey depicts the complex line between insanity in a world that oppresses the mentally ill through the use of characterization, literary devices, themes and motifs. When R.P. McMurphy arrived at the ward, the whole floor has an immediate reaction especially the staff in charge. Kesey utilizes characterization to allow the ward to be perceived as weak in the eyes of the reader. McMurphy, described as talking loudr n you d think he needed (Kesey 11) and [sounding big] (Kesey 11), establishes the large presence and effect that McMurphy has and will have on the ward. • 33. The Importance Of Censorship In Music Censorship is a broad topic that can lead to chaos and misunderstanding if not clearly conveyed for what it is. For example, rock music, the first major threat to traditional thinking caused a divide between generations because of how different and explicit it became in the mid 1900s. It s no surprise there were people ready to combat rock music. However, what is surprising is the fact that so much happened with so little change in the music around us. Censorship if anything only helped intensify the differences between society. Controversy and censorship in music was around long before the rock music. In fact, a genre called the blues consistently dealt with the imposed censorship on their recordings (McDonald, 1988, pp.295 296). Also race spiked the urge to censor rock and roll even further. With some of the leading people such as Chuck Berry and Little Richard being people of color it was no surprise that there was outrage over their music. Where things get even more traumatic is when the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) who was a radical racist group told the public not to buy Negro records because they were poisoning the youth. This depicts the fact that racism was a heavy combatant against any form of rock and roll. Race played its part in many forms of music (jazz, blues, etc.), but rock music was seen as a major starting point for censorship since it caused such a major divide between the youth and adults (McDonald, 1988, p.297). • 42. Analysis Of Gang Related After many mixtapes and nearing the edge of household name status, Maryland rapper Logic drops his first album. In this album is a song titled Gang Related. This song tells the story of what environment and household he grew up in. His brother is in a gang and sells cocaine to his father in front of him. Logic s mother is in an out of mental institutions, all the while logic is growing up and trying not to get shot when he walks outside. With drugs and gangs all around him, it is quite amazing that he got out and become a famous rapper. Gang Related also has a core message of stopping the violence, which leads to a question, is this song about his story or a message about ending the violence? Gang Related starts out with logic saying Yeah, livin life like this/ Gotta paint a picture when I write like this/ Tales from my hood, not a sight like this . Early on it would seem that this song is clearly about telling a story. Use of the terms of painting a picture and tales is a classic way to talk about telling a story. Through this first verse, logic grows up from being a baby to teenage waking up in the middle of the night thinking there is an intruder. In most stories, growing up and changing is common. In the second verse, he switches to the view of his brother, who does whatever needed to keep his family safe. Logic uses a common way of telling a story, by changing view point. In this first verse, he only allows the audience to see him as a scared boy unsure of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Haggai, Zechariah, And Malachi While there is some speculation in regards to the authorship of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, the general scholarly consensus is that all three share titular authors. Haggai and Zechariah were contemporaries; however, while Haggai s messages were only in a short period in 520 b.c., Zechariah s ministry stretched from 520 b.c., until after 480 b.c. Malachi was likely a contemporary of Nehemiah, and it is likely that his book was written in 433 b.c., right after Nehemiah returned from Persia. (NIV Study Bible) Haggai is divided into four different messages: He begins with a call to rebuild the temple, explaining how the people s refusal to rebuild the Lord s house has brought curses upon them. It begins with a call to repentance, then later describes eight separate visions Zechariah has in the same night. The second section ends with an oracle about Joshua. The third message of Zechariah rebukes the people for how they have turned away from God. It explains how the Israelites have ignored God in their rituals and placed more importance in the rituals themselves than God. The final area of Zechariah is about two oracles. • 45. Eliminating Religion from Daily Life with the... During the revolutionary era in France, in which the National Convention took control of revolutionary France, a new calendar was adopted. This revolutionary calendar was implemented in November of 1793, in an attempt to replace the Gregorian calendar completely. The National Convention adopted a new calendar in France at the time of a revolution in an attempt to increase the number of work days on peasants and reduce the influence of Christianity throughout the country; however most of the general public as well as government officials reacted negatively. One major reason as of why the revolutionary calendar was put into effect was in order to eliminate religion from daily life. The traditional Gregorian calendarwas originally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However because this article was written under Napoleon I, and from the perspective of people who did not agree with the calendar the article may be very biased. Another reason for the adoption of a new calendar is that the government did not want religion to determine the lives of the French people. According to Pierre Joseph, the Jacobins were attempting to rid France of religion and the old order by replacing it with Deism (Document eight). With the incorporation of deism into everyday life people could focus more on reason, being less influenced by religion. However, because Pierre Joseph was a Girondin he was very opposed to the views of the Jocobins, so of course he believed the removal of religion from French society to have negative impacts. Less religious aspects in everyday life would allow the French people to be more productive by reducing their time to worship, in turn giving them more time to work. The revolutionary calendar sought out to improving productivity among the peasantry. The National Convention stated that the Gregorian calendar had too many religious holidays. One of the complaints in the Cahier de Doleances included the limitation on the number of religious holidays so that the so called great people were no longer a disadvantage to the state (Document one). In order to make the French people more productive there needed to be a reduction in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Adler s Theory Of Personality First of all, Adler s theory believes that personality is formed during the first five years of life (Adler, A.,1927). By this age a child develops his/her style of life, and it is critical in his/her personality development. The narrator experiences neglect during these periods: And after some work with a colored pencil I succeeded in making my first drawing. My Drawing Number One. I showed my masterpiece to the grown ups, and asked them whether the drawing frightened them. But they answered: Frighten? Why should anyone be frightened by a hat? My drawing was not a picture of a hat. It was a picture of a boa constrictor digesting an elephant. But since the grown ups were not able to understand it, I made another drawing: I drew the inside of the boa constrictor, so that the grown ups could see it clearly. They always need to have things explained. The grown ups response, this time, was to advise me to lay aside my drawings of boa constrictors, whether from the inside or the outside, and devote myself instead to geography, history, arithmetic and grammar. That is why, at the age of six, I gave up what might have been a magnificent career as a painter. I had been disheartened by the failure of my Drawing Number One and my Drawing Number Two. Grown ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them (de Saint ExupГ©ry, A., 1999). This aircraft is one of the largest ever constructed and it was first flown over 70 years ago (H 4 Hercules Flying Boat, n.d.). This aircraft, although one of Hughes most impressive, was merely one of countless aviation records he set. One great example is the aim to build streamlined aircraft capable of high speed and efficiency. Hughes rigorous pursuit of building the very best aircraft continues to this day. Almost all modern aircraft use flush rivets and smooth streamlined surfaces to cut through the air. Another of Hughes s contributions was simply inspiring public interest in aviation. The Hughes H 4 Hercules, although not a success by most defections, still motivates public interest in aviation today. Displayed in a museum, what was for a very long time the world s largest aircraft is a sight to behold and will probably inspire future aviators for decades to come. Before that his movie Hell s Angels immeasurably changed the public perception of aviation, and although it is not known for sure, that movie was likely an inspiration to many who have changed the path of aviation for the better. Another of Hughes s contributions, although not directly related to aviation, Hughes Electronics Corporation founded what is one of the largest providers of satellite television, DirecTV. Hughes had a space division as early as the 60 s, but it wasn t until after his death that this division split off. Although she was never referred to as the goddess of the moon, she is often associated with Selene, who is the goddess of the moon (Luna in Latin). Phoebe was not one of the most popular or well known Titans in Greek mythology, she was often always in the background of everything. Although there is little information about her, she still is a major goddess because she was one of the first twelve Titans, which explains why she took the side of the Titans in the War of the Titans.
