Essay about Sleeping Disorders
Sleeping Disorders
I am going to start by telling you what a sleeping disorder is. A sleeping disorder is a problem
that affects something to do with sleep. Not all sleeping disorders have symptoms that are obvious
to a person or their family and friends, here are some common sleep disorders.
Insomnia Sleep Apnea Narcolepsy Restless Leg Syndrome Parasomnia
Bruxism Jet Lag Shiftwork
I will be discussing the sleeping disorders listed above and what symptoms they can cause.
Insomnia is a chronic sleeping disorder in which it is very difficult to start and continue sleeping.

To keep episodes of insomnia at a minimum, sleep specialists recumbent practicing good sleep
hygiene.
There is another sleeping disorder called Sleep Apnea. Sleep Apnea is not really problems with
going to sleep, it is more dealing with problems while you are sleeping. Some of the symptoms of
sleep apnea include
loud or irregular snoring excessive daytime sleepiness repeated nightly arousals non refreshing sleep
morning headache nightly periodic absent breathing Loud snoring at night can be more than just a
nuisance. It can actually signal to you that something could be wrong with breathing during sleep.
In most cases, there are no serious medical consequences associated with snoring.
But for about 20 million Americans, this loud, habitual snoring can indicate a life threatening
disorder know as sleep apnea. An apnea is actually a lack of breath. For most people during sleep,
it is normal for the breathing muscles to relax. The problem is, for some people, excessive muscle
relaxation occurs which disrupts breathing. Disordered breathing during sleep also can occur if the
brain stops sending the needed messages to the breathing muscles. In either case, the presence of
apnea should be taken seriously.
Sleep apnea is more common in middle aged men and overweight people.
People with sleep apnea often

Key Avant-Garde Movements Of The Twentieth Century
Key avant garde movements, including Suprematism, Constructivism and Futurism, influenced
contemporary political graphics of the twentieth century. Particularly focusing on political and
propaganda posters of the Soviet Union it is evident they were influenced by avant garde
movements that were developing in neighboring and western countries during the same period.
Suprematism, focusing on basic geometric shapes with a limited range of colours is evident in
numerous propaganda posters in Russiaat the beginning of the twentieth century. Constructivism,
developing from Russian Futurism is aimed to create works that would make the viewer an active
viewer. Futurism also influences the posters in a way that allows them to illustrate futuristic and
abstract things as well as many posters containing qualities of cubism. Being influenced by these
movements it gave the Russian government a way to show they weren t old fashioned and were
able to keep updated with the developing countries around them.
Futurism is the most important Italian avant garde movements of the twentieth century. Celebrating
the advanced technology and urban modernity the world was quickly developing, futurism aimed to
demonstrate the beauty of the machine, speed, violence and change. It allowed artists and designers
to communicate with an audience in a new way that wasn t so traditional. This was particularly
helpful to Russia during the time of the revolution because accompanying a new outlook on politics

Kinship is the cornerstone for how people within a society relate to others and race lineages. Many
societies trace their lineage through the father, which is called patrilineal, or through the mother
which is called matrilineal. The Iroquois nation traced their kinship through the matrilineal decent
lines. Kinship directly relates to how family groups think, act and live along side each other. The
culture of the Iroquois can also be compared to how many American families relate to one another
as well.

Often times there are couples that get married but have chosen not to stay with one another because
of a difference in opinion, this is called divorce.
Iroquois and divorce Often time s couples marry only to find out that they have a difference of
opinion or one spouse has caused serious marital strain on the other. Since the Iroquois couples
lived matrilineally, this makes it easier for the woman to dissolve the marriage, keep her children
and continue to live at home with her family. If a woman no longer desired to be married to her
husband, all she had to do was pack up her husband s belongings and leave them on the steps of
the longhouse. When he came home, the husband would find them, realize his wife had terminated
the marriage, and return to his home village and his own patrilineage. (Nowak, B. amp; Laird, P.
2010 chapter 4.5 Divorce) In the American culture it is more difficult to obtain a divorce.
Americans and divorce Americans divorce for the same reasons the Iroquois divorced for
however, in the American culture it is harder to divorce. Many times couples divorce because of
infidelity of one or both of the spouses, or from irreconcilable differences. In order to obtain a
divorce in America many states require the couple to attend counseling to see if they can fix their
marriage. Sometimes this is successful and the couple will stay together and often times it is not
possible for the couple to stay together so they will then obtain a divorce

Radiation Threats Of Astronauts On A Long Journey Through...

Radiation Threats to Astronauts on a Long Journey through Space Astronauts travelling to Mars or
another distant area of interest would face numerous challenges throughout their journey, one of
which is being exposed to radiation from space. There are two types of radiation: ionizing radiation
and non ionizing radiation. [1] Non ionizing radiation is radiation that cannot cause electrons to
become detached from the atom, like visible light and radio waves. [1] This type of radiation is not
dangerous for astronauts and is commonly found on Earth. Ionizing radiation, on the other hand,
has enough energy to remove electrons from their orbits around an atom, causing a charged particle.

[1] This type of radiation would be dangerous for astronauts, and it would need to be shielded
against for long distance space travel to be viable. SPE are the ejection of very energetic
protons, alpha particles and heavier particles into space; these include solar flares and coronal
mass ejections. [1] Under normal conditions, astronauts would not be concerned about this, but
occasionally, very large SPEs occur that can produce radiation with energy levels high enough
to be lethal in a very short period of time. In fact, between Apollo missions 16 and 17, one of the
largest SPEs ever recorded occurred, and it produced radiation with energy levels that would be
lethal to astronauts outside the atmosphere in under 10 hours. [1] The health risks of radiation
exposure can be described as either acute or chronic. Acute exposure is short term and the
severity of symptoms ranges from nausea to central nervous system damage and even to death
in large doses. [2] Chronic exposure is usually less intense radiation but for a longer period of
time, and the health risks include developing cataracts and an increased risk of cancer. [2] This is
the most pressing issue for astronaut safety. Normally, when exposed to the low levels of
radiation we encounter every day, cells are able to mend themselves very quickly. When we are
exposed to high doses, such as astronauts would encounter in space, cells may not be able to repair
themselves and can become mutated

Nature And Nature In Coleridge s Frost At Midnight
Coleridge often explores the relationship between humanity and nature in his poetry. These two
groups are unified in his conversation poem Frost at Midnight , and allow the reader into his
internal thoughts. He meditates on comparisons by pairing the magical appearance of frost on the
windowpane to how his thoughts are in flux and reflux. Coleridge shows how the thinking of the
mindmirrors nature and how repeating patterns reveal universal aspects of poetry, thoughts, and
nature. Coleridge makes use of the repetitive patterns in nature and uses them to capture the mind s
movement. The structure of the poem uses frost as a guide. Similar to how frost propagates itself,
the poem contains organic, repeating fractal patterns with small variations within them. These
patterns exist throughout nature in honeycombs, mountains, clouds, and leaves. Furthermore, the
speaker of the poem, Coleridge, and his infant son, Hartley reflect the idea of repetition.
Repetition exists as Hartley is a replica of Coleridge as children can be seen as versions of their
parents. However, Coleridge also points out how he and his son are different as well. Coleridge
wants his son to be intimately familiar with nature, writing With tender gladness, thus to look at
thee, / And think that thou shalt learn far other lore / And in far other scenes! (lines 49 51).
Coleridge will make sure that his son will enjoy nature and not have the experience he had in the
city. The repetitive nature and movement of

JetBlue Beginnings and Operational Methods
This section details the history of JetBlue, focusing on the activities of founder, David Neeleman.
JetBlue Airways, based in Forest Hills, New York, was founded in February, 1999, by David
Neeleman, the son of Mormon missionaries. He was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, but raised in a
tightly knit Mormon family (Gajilan, 2003). After serving as a Brazilian missionary during college,
Neeleman returned to his family s base in Salt Lake City and began an enterprising condominium
rental business. As a tenacious seller, Neeleman s approach caught the eye of June ... Show more

Similarly, Neeleman investigated meal service and found that customers would be satisfied with
light snacks and sodas in lieu of lunch and dinner entrees. JetBlue saved roughly $3 per passenger
by cutting out meal service (Barney and Hesterly, 2010), but selected premier label snacks, such as
Terra Blue potato chips (Gajilan, 2003). The notable cost saver was utilizing flight crews to clean
airline cabins after each flight, which was inspired by the similar team player culture found at
Southwest. Special cleaning crews were not needed, and JetBlue was able to speed airplane
turnaround time to 35 minutes. This number was substantially below the industry average of one
hour, and the quicker turnaround was implemented largely to sell more flights daily (Gajilan,
2003). Neeleman utilized his knowledge of electronic ticketing and Internet based reservations to
further reduce staff engaging in customer transactions. A major operational cost saving involved
entering the major air industry with a new fleet of Airbus aircraft. Although European made,
Airbus was chosen due to their fuel efficiency, easier maintenance, and five year warranty
(Gajilan, 2003). Neeleman realized that quick turnaround time was a crucial factor in maximizing
profits by simply keeping the new planes in the air longer than the competition. Because JetBlue
worked largely out of secondary airports (Midway vs. O Hare), its flights avoided more

Analysis Of Legally Blonde The Musical
Humorous, energetic, enjoyable and all around fun, Legally Blonde: The Musical captured my
attention from the get go. This comical yet heartwarming musical portrays the story of a young
woman following an ex love to Harvard Law School only to realize the potential she possessed
within herself and in the new life she creates for her own. After viewing this hit Broadway
production, I am fascinated with how this theatreplay was brought to life on stagewith the lighting,
sound, spacing and overall entertainment from the cast to the costumes. Altogether, this play is one
of my all time favorite productions and it is one that keeps my attention from the moment it takes
off to the closing of the curtain at the end.
Legally Blonde: The Musical starts off by capturing the audience s attention and winning their
hearts with the characters and the acting that takes place in this performance. The main character,
Elle Woods, played by Laura Bell Bundy in the Broadway production, soared though this musical
with her singing, dancing and radiating energy. Bundy was a sight to see on the stage as she made
every line believable while achieving at looking like she was having the time of her life throughout
the entire production. The thing that stuck out the most was the amount of emotion that was
poured into this performance from every single character, minor or major, taking part. From scenes
such as Elle finding out she got Callahan s law internship to the famous Bend and Snap scene,

The Importance Of The Carnival Of Venice
The Carnival of Venice (Carnevale di Venezia) is a huge celebration taken place in Venice, Italy.
This extraordinary event takes place in the streets of the city with the center of attention at the St.
Mark s Square, in Venice. At times, there are events such as masquerade balls that take place in
ancient Venetian buildings (Bonadonna, 2017). Socially, this event contains individuals of all
ages. Children gather together with their family members, friends and neighbors to celebrate the
final days of eating meat, fats, and sugars, before the holiday Lent has arrived (Walks of Italy,
2016). Recently tourists from all over the world traveled to Venice during this time to experience
this unique event. This celebration is known for having each participant wear a unique and unusual
mask. With these masks, individuals cannot be judged on their roles such as their race, gender, or
age (SlowItaly, 2013).
Culturally, Roman Catholics believe that during the Fridays of the 40 days of Lent, individuals
should not eat meat to honor Jesus Christ, who suffered for his followers and died on the cross on
a Friday. The activity pattern of giving up meat was chosen due to the fact that it is known to be a
worthy sacrifice within this religion and is associated with many feasts (Kosloski, 2017). The

She stresses that this type of union is remembered by the patient, as well as the nurse. Actual
caring involves choices, conversations, and understanding. It defines the moment when a nurse,
and a patient come together and form a relationship. Watson believes this factor of nursing
enables a patient to gain control, knowledge, and make future lifestyle changes. Theory of ethics
The Theory of ethics in care is described by Edwards (2009). His explanation describes the
evolution of ethical and care based treatment, in three versions. First, Gilligan (1982) focuses on
the context of the situation in regards to patient care vs. Impartial reflection. Impartial reflection
is the moral based judgement used in patient care, which does not include closeness or caring in
the relationship. Gilligan was the first to point out that we treat strangers differently than an
induvial we are personally connected to. Second, Toronto (1993) acknowledged, that if we focus
on caring relationships and the relationship between power and caring practices, such as bringing
up children, and caring for the sick, a radically different set of social arrangements will ensue.
(Edwards, 2009, p.233). Lastly, Gastmans (2006) explored the best way to care for a patient, at a

The During The Reconstruction Era
During the Reconstruction era which occurred after the Civil War there was animosity between the
states as well as the debate over how freed slaves should be dealt with in terms of becoming citizens
with the same rights as the Constitution provided for whites. The government had to come up some
type of conditions which would attempt to allow the rebellious southern states back into the union.
During this time period President Abraham Lincoln appointed provisional military governors to
oversee the re establishment of the southern states into the union as well as a functioning
government. Yet, during the late 1800 s the Republicans ruled Congress and made efforts during the
Reconstruction end to ensure that everyone had the same equal rights by passing the Civil Rights
Bill to ensure that everyone had equal rights. This also led to questions as to what to do with the
recently freed blacks. The main problem was with the Southern states and getting them to except
black, so the government implemented laws and Constitutional Amendments which helped the
federal government with the enforcement of equal rights which would give blacks in the south the
rights to hold office and vote. This leads us to the freeman s Bureau which was also a part of the
Reconstruction Act. The Reconstruction act of 1867 required southern states to except and ratify
the 14th Amendment granting equal protection for the freed blacks, and the 15th Amendment
guaranteed the right for blacks to vote. Blacks

women. Men will be great if they wear the product. Also, women should buy the product so their

I Am A International Competitor
I am a learner. I am a sporting competitor. I am not afraid of failure. I am eager to learn the
lessons required to reach the top. I dare say it is a very pleasurable mix. My views on learning
are not extraordinary. They are however centred on comprehensive and investigative approaches
to engineering problems. I am happiest when I am identifying problems in a complex circuit, in
control systems, logic and digital circuits or simply the detection of flaws in coding. When the
problem is accessible and simultaneously acts as an intellectual stimulant I recognise an
automatic leveraging of inner resources and a gearing up of the mind to solve the issue. I find
myself thinking furiously adopting several parallel courses of action and a range of approaches
which will result in the best fastest solution to the problem. The entire exercise is meditative with
the focus resting solely on the end result. Every problem can be solved at different levels of
abstraction and by implementing different strategies. So then, the knowledge base acquired through
class lectures and the committed guidance from tutors, from peer reviewed journals and
publications, from interactive workshops and seminars, from the engaging technical discussions
and debates comprise the raw material to work with. What a qualified professional does with the

when they have an accident or when you have potential new clients to inform them on how

There would not be any ideas on how to scam the insurance company on ways to make the total

If a patient has a co pay is the co pay required at the time of service or can they be billed for it at a
later date. For patients without medical insurance making them aware of their financial obligations
helps to reduce the time that is spent explaining the financial aspects. Let the patient know that the
provider is willing to make payment arrangements, or that they offer a discount for payment in
full at the time of service, or maybe there is a sliding fee scale that is offered based on the patients
income. Offering financial assistance is just not helpful to those without insurance, but also to
those that do have insurance. Patients can sometimes have high out of pocket expenses and
deductibles that they are required to pay for certain services. Financial counseling informs the
patient of their financial responsibility and how the practice is willing to help so that they can
receive the care that they need. Having a good patient flow is key to establishing a respected
practice with patients who are happy, and healthy. Patient flow not only effects the amount of time
a patient waits to see a doctor, but also effects the time and care that a doctor has to spend with
their patients. There are a variety of techniques that a practices, clinics, and hospitals can implement
to ensure a that the intake process is effective and maintains a good patient flow.

The Gulf Of Mexico And America
The Gulf of Mexico is a partially locked body of water surrounded by the North American
continent (Gulf of Mexico, 2000). The gulf links five southern U.S states: Florida, Alabama,
Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas and six Mexican states: Tamaulipas, Vera Cruz, Tabasco,
Campeche, YucatГЎn, and Quintana Roo (Gulf of MexicoFacts, 2015). The gulf surrounds Cuba
and connects to the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf of Mexico may just seem like another body of
water, but that is far from the truth. This body of water has many contributions to society and
society has also affected it in many ways because of its resources. Before doing any research I
believed that the Gulf of Mexico was owned by Mexico and I found out that this was a
misconception. No one other than the federal government owns this body of water. There are
Territorial waters, which are areas of a body of water that contact land and are claimed by an
specific country (Who Owns the Gulf of Mexico? 2010). This means that there is a 12 miles
wide band that would belong to what ever land it touches. For example 12 miles out of the coast
of Florida belong to the United States. However, parts of the Gulf of Mexico can be leased to
petroleumand gas companies in order for the government and the companies to create a profit.
The word profit takes me to one of my points of this paper on how the Gulf of Mexico helps the
people and the country. The Gulf of Mexico benefits North America greatly because of its
economical aspects.

Interpreting the Constitution
Introduction Ever since its inception, one of the High Court s primary duties has been to interpret
the Australian Constitution. There have been many methodologies used to do so and many
schools of thought (have been adopted by different judges) in approximately the last hundred
years, but so far there still isn t one consistent and cohesive way of interpretation . In this essay
three types of options or methodologies that have been more commonly used by High Court judges
will be discussed. They include: literalism/legalism, originalism and progressivism. Other options
that may be considered by the High Court will also be examined in this paper. Literalism/Legalism

By using literalism/legalism the Court will be able to understand and decipher what a text means
and using a legal context of traditions and principles will guide the High Court in making their
decision . This is also the most commonly used method of interpreting a statute, therefore applicable
to the Constitution . Using originalism will give the High Court an understanding about the
historical context, which is important in the process of interpretation and could sometimes be
valuable in deciding the meaning . As today s world is filled with new technology and
advancements, there has to be some progressivism when interpreting the Constitution to enable it to
last indefinitely . In using progressivism, the Court needs to be mindful not to divert excessively
from the essence of the Constitution. This hybrid option could be the method that will give the
High Court more cohesion and consistency by having pre set laws or rules that can be applied to
multiple types of cases because they would be relevant. It may appear that using three methods may
introduce may introduce conflicting opinions and inconsistency. On the contrary this may be
overcome by the High Court using all three approaches in every case to make an appropriate
determination. For instance, the Court should examine the literal and

The school of Athens From the book Living with Art I chose Raphael. The School of Athens on

stylized pace of art. The two visual elements of design that I saw in the Raphael painting, is color,
and space. There are both horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines to making up the arches and all
the columns. An implied line is in each group of men and women in this paining. The group of
young women and men in the bottom right hand corner are looking up at the ceiling as like the

two men in the middle are Plato and Aristotle. Plato on the left is carrying his Timaios, and
Aristotle is holding the Ethics. The emphasis of the allusion form the long hallway behind
everyone, makes the building seem very large. It makes it look as it goes on forever. The author
of The School of Athens, is Raffaello Sanzio. He was born in the mountain town of Urbino.
Raphael was born on April 6, 1483 and also died on the same day in Rome in 1520. He settled in
Florence in 1505 at only fifteen year s old. Raphael first produced art in Urbino at a young age.
Raphael produced his first piece of art at fifteen year s old. He is a naturalistic artist. He used

Raphael was called to Rome by Pope Julius II to embark on the major phase of his career. Raphael
did not approach painting as a series of solutions to technical problems of representation. Instead, he

Peter Singer
This documentary had several interesting and well thought out points. Each of the philosophers
had very different approaches when it came to life. One of the first quotes of the documentary
was, The unexamined life is not worth living. This quote was originally said by Socrates a Greek
philosopher. The words were supposedly spoken by Socratesat his trial after he chose death rather
than exile. They represent the noble choice which is the choice of death in the face of an alternative.
One of the philosophers that projected themselves to me most was Peter Singer. Singer is a
philosopher mostly known for ethics. Ethics is about the basic choices that we make in our lives
and one of those choices is how we spend our money. He challenges people

Corporate Social Responsibility On Business And Consumerism
Steve Pollak says that responsible business refers to the practice of conducting business with
consideration for ethical, environmental and community goals in addition to being a good
employer and attempting to make a profit (Pollak, 2010). This essay will be discussing what is
meant by the term Responsible business and what it encompasses. Looking into drivers that affect
business and consumerism, they will be explained through looking at how it has developed over
time and looking at where it is now in relation to business. Considering the different acts and
legislation that the government has put in place, further discussion will continue into how
consumerism and government affect business. Estimations about the future of business and
consumerism will be discussed in detail. For this essay a broad range of literature and websites
have been used to gain relevant facts and information about this topic.
Responsible Business is known to cover a range of issues such as Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR), Sustainability, and Corporate Citizenship. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is
defined as the obligations of business to pursue those policies, to make those decisions or to
follow those lines of action which are desirable in terms of the objectives and values of our society
(Bowen, 1953), as quoted by (Smith, 2011). Bowen explains that CSR means businesses taking
action towards doing things society wants and needs and accounting for the needs of the people.

The Southwest Is A Region Of The United States
The southwest is a region of the United States that makes our country unique. Without the
southwest, we would undoubtedly lack the spirit, hope, beauty, and truth that this vast region brings
to the rest of the United States as a whole. The southwest represents many things, such as
journeying, racism, violence, the clashing and cooperation of cultures, and spirituality, as well as
primitivism and pastoralism. All of these elements that the Southwest is comprised of is perhaps
the reason why the rest of the country feels so captivated by it; why the southwest is considered a
place to find yourself or to regenerate ; and why literature and film regarding the Southwest has
been and continues to be of the most popular genres. The westernfilm was one of the most popular
during the first half of the twentieth century. Audiences far and wide were mesmerized by actors
such as John Wayne and Roy Rogers, and their roles as heroes who fought to tame the American
frontier. This very concept, taming the frontier , gives way to a larger theme that was prevalent in
many western films and literature of the southwest: ubi sunt, or rather where are those who came
before us? . Director Sam Peckinpahs The Ballad of Cable Hogueportrays this idea better than any
other western film; the concept of ubi sunt is undeniably the film s overarching theme, clearly seen
through its components.
By conquering the frontier, characters in western films portray how they, as well as society at this

The Pros And Cons Of Teens
Man, there is just nothing to do around here anymore. If someone is from a small town, they know
this feeling. In most small towns there are not many things for people to do, especially young
people. Most of the time, young people in a small town have to drive thirty to forty minutes to get
to a place with entertainment for their age. When there is nothing for teens to do, they usually end
up getting into trouble. A solution to this problem would be to bring in new businessor reopen old
ones that have shut down in the past. Doing this allows teens to have something to do in their free
time, gives young people more job opportunities, and gives the local economy a boost.
Small towns have many advantages, such as everyone knows and takes care of each other, low
crime rate, and few traffic problems. There are many disadvantages as well. There is little
privacy, few things to do on a night out, and the economy often stagnates. When the economy is
down new businesses struggle to survive. When a new place opens it normally is focused to one
group of people, either young kids or older adults. There are multiple reasons that focusing on the
teens could be a successful business plan. Teens are constantly wanting to be out and doing
something. They are old enough to drive, but too young to go far from home. To get this plan into
action petitions could be signed to get people to agree it would be a good investment for the
community or get a fundraiser for someone to reopen the

Chiseled in stone yet standing high upon the apogee of a mountain, a sexually seductive sovereign
can be found. Though supposedly neither human nor god, he remains just barely within arm s
reach of the rays of divine sunlight. He is unwavering both in his alluring, dominant stance and his
brutal authority, especially compared to his enemies, one which lays mercilessly beneath his firm
feet, with a spear gutting his neck. With all eyes looking in his trajectory, his gaze focuses high

Thus, the archetype of Naram SГ®m shows to be the epitome of the perfect male for which other
men strive to embody.
This concept is conveniently backed by the elders of Naram SГ®m, who were successful in
claiming that these attributes came in the form of being divine. This claim to divinity literally
underpinned their ascension to power and the relegation of everyone else; rulers were to be revered
for their beauty and power because it was truly their god given right. Alas, Winter argues that the
sexual allure of the ruler s body firmly functions was a mechanism to continue aggrandizing their
own status and dominance.
Winter succesfully notes that this dominance and power was also preserved by what we would
call propaganda. In regards to another period of art, Winter suggests that aesthetic pleasure can
serve as the vehicle by which a highly seductive ideal vision is articulated for the citizen viewer .
In regards to the stela, the viewer sees an image of an audacious, virtuous hero, the signifier which
may have instilled and preserved the distorted perception of hierarchy. Though the idea of being an
alpha male is nothing new at this point in history, it does become physically stamped into history,
used to gain loyalty between the ruler and the ruled.
However, this belief was not exclusive to just the king and his subjects, but also between

Chickasaw Research Paper
Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur Oklahoma is a place where many families go
to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What many may not know is that the waters in
this area were a treasured resource even before statehood. Native Americans were the first to
speak of the wonderous health benefits of the water and after the arrival of the white man the
preservation of this area would become an issue not only for the Native Americans who
discovered it but also for the settlers who viewed it as an opportunity to become rich. Acquisition
of this land would lead to the founding of Oklahoma s first and last National Park. Originally

The Opening Scene Of The Book Acts Essay
In the opening scene of the book Acts, Luke records Jesus, who has recently risen, addressing
the Apostles. Before He ascended into heaven, He left His disciples with a commission: to be
witnesses. In Acts 1:8, Jesus stated, [Y]ou will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on
you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth. Contextually, these last words of Jesuswere remarkable to the immediate audience, and His
last words are remarkable to those who properly interpret Acts 1:8. The context of Acts 1:8, the
interpretation, and the practically of Acts 1:8 reveal effective principles for Christians who desire
to spread the Gospel throughout the ends of the earth.
Acts is a historically accurate book that a human author wrote in a particular time, in a specific
place, and to a certain audience. Although there are people today who believe that the Bible
magically arrived and that it is full of fantasy stories, the truth is that God divinely used man to
record actual events. In Acts, He used Luke to record worth noting events. There are, according to
Thomas L. Constable, primarily two supporting arguments for Lukan s authorship in Acts: (1)
internal evidence, such as certain passages that use the first person plural that can refer to Luke,
and (2) external evidence. External evidence refers to the early church fathers that referred to Luke
as the author of Acts. God had divinely instilled a purpose for Luke to

The styles from Lester Young and Coleman Hawkins were very different throughout the swing
era. Hawkins and Young were two of the best tenor sax players that had emerged during the
swing era. Considerably different, Hawkins played a huge dark sound, whereas Young s was
light and breathy. Some of the differences were as follows; Hawkins improvisations were based
on his superior knowledge of harmony, Young s were rooted in the blues, Hawkins played with a
rhythmic approach that was always closely tied to the beat, and Young s rhythmic conception was
much looser, and often untied to the beat. Although they had many differences, they inspired sax
players for years to come.

Analysis Of The Book Opens With Carruthers
The novel opens with Carruthers, a British Foreign Office employee, recalling the many invitations
extended to him during his stay in London. Unfortunately, in his arrogance, the man turned down
the majority of invitations, only to find himself with nowhere to go. This pushes Carruthers to
consider the unappealing invitation of his old acquaintance Davies. Davies has invited Carruthers
on a yachting journey filled with sailing and duck hunting, across the North Seaand into the Baltic,
towards the Frisian Islands, right off the coast of Germany. Carruthers arrives to find a rather
small vessel with no crew present. He quickly realizes that this is no relaxing vacation after all.
While Davies shows him the ropes, Carruthers tries his best to help sail the Ducibella. As they
travel across the sea, they encounter beautiful scenery and even other sailors. Eventually, Davies
tells Carruthers about his previous journey through the Frisian Islands. He reveals that a German
barge yacht, owned by a man named Dollmann, had baited the Ducibella onto a shoal in a
troublesome sea that surely would have caused the small yacht to perish, if not for a small channel
and the Bartels. Davies finishes his story in a mode of inquiry; he cannot figure out the motivation
behind Dollmann s behavior. He comes to the conclusion that Dollmann must be an Englishman
and a spy, due to his actions, looks, and Davies analyses of the channels. Davies proceeds to lay
out Dollmann s possible route and tells

The Decision Making Is Defined As A Cognitive Process
Forum 2: Original post Decision Making In life individuals are faced with a continuous flow of
decisions to be made and problems to be solved. Decision making is defined as a cognitive
process in which a choice is developed regarding a belief or course of action from among two or
more alternatives (Robbins Judge, 2009). Individuals compose decisions as a reaction to a
problem, a perceived deviation linking the present condition and a desired condition (Robbins,
2009). For example, in the radiation oncology field, multiple devices are used to make treatments
more accurate, reproducible, and elevate patient comfort. These devices are used frequently so
they quickly become worn. They must be checked periodically to ensure structural stability and
compliance with infectious control regulations. Employees are given the task of examining the
devices, making decisions regarding the condition of the devices, and reporting what needs to be
replaced. Managers and employees must keep in mind that incessant replacement of these devices
is costly and can cause interruptions in patient care. Managers and employees should compose
optimal decisions regarding the care and replacement of such devices in order to be effective,
efficient, and productive. Rational Decision Making Model One process discussed in
organizational behavior for decision making is the Rational Decision Making Model. This model
employs six steps for decision making: 1.Interpret the problem. 2.Determine the decision

Theme Of Duality In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
Gothic novels tackle many aspects of the Victorian era which was between 1837 to 1901. Such
aspects were then translated into tropes of different gothic novels. Duality, Masculinity, Secrecy,
Sexuality, Mystery, Suspense, Rationalism Vs Irrationalism and Supernatural beings Vs Human
Beings and many more were all important tropes to their respective novels. The Strange Case of
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was one of the driving forces behind the trope of Duality, published in 1886
by Robert Louis Stevenson. The book was written in the form of an Allegorical novel, which meant
that the novel had an extended metaphor. One of the main messages conveyed through the book
was duality, the idea of 2 separate entities residing in the same person. Good being their gentlemanly

Institutional Pharmacy Setting
Institutional Pharmacy Setting latrice HCP 210 December 5, 2010 Patrice Daniels Institutional
Pharmacy Setting Pharmacy Institutional setting is a service provided 24 hours a day 365
(Johnston, 2006) days a year. Most Institutional pharmacy provides blister pack medications to
ensure the safety and quality to the patient. Institutional pharmacy are design to provide safe and
secure prescriptions most of the time the patients are on site within the pharmacy. Pharmacist works
hand and hand with doctors, Physical Therapist, and nurses to provide consultations and feedback
to the doctors if needed. Not only does an institutional pharmacy provide quality care they also
allow for patients to return unused and unopened... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most common one I have seen is where the doctor misses the dispense quantity. The doctor can
also confuse the two patients together with same name. One of the things that may be unique is
getting a patient mixed up with another patient and not having the drug available. Although
working in an institutional pharmacy may be challenging it can be interesting as well. I have
discussed in this paper the the roles a technician has as well as the process it take to prepare a
prescription in an institutional pharmacy. It is very important that the doctors and staff work
together as a team to ensure the safety of the patient and the quality that is expected of them.
Technicians not only perform more tasks at an institutional pharmacy but they require more intense
training. The importance of the pharmacy is to satisfy the patients and that is most important.

The Gi Bill Pros And Cons
The G.I. Bill would undergo several legislative changes. On March 28, 1970 President Richard
Nixon signed the Veterans Education and Training Amendments Act (Mosch, 1971, p. 280). The
act introduced two new provisions. The first introduced a rate increase of 34.6% (Mosch, 1971, p.
280). The second, eliminated most duplication prohibitions (Mosch, 1971, p. 280). The G.I. Bill
would again be modified in July of 1985 and adopting the name of its Alabama representative
sponsor Sonny Montgomery (Simon et al., 2010, p. 1008). The most recent of amendments to the
G.I. Bill came in the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 or Post 9/11 G.I. Bill
for short (Hitt, Sternberg, Wadsworth, Vaughan, Carlson, Dansie Mohrbacher, 2015, p. 536). This

to thirty six months of benefits if usage began within ten years of separation from service

service were eligible for $300 per month, with a total individual benefit of $10,800 for thirty six
months of usage (Simon et al., 2010, p. 1011). Veterans serving a two year enlistment contract
qualified for a $272 monthly stipend for a maximum of $9,800 for thirty six months of usage
(Simon et al., 2010, p. 1011). This remained relatively steady from 1985 to 1992 despite the
increased costs of college tuition (Simon et al., 2010, p. 1011). However, in January of 1999 and
then again in January of 2000 Congress did increase MGIB benefits to account for rising tuition
costs (Simon et al., 2010, p. 1012). These increases continued to be implemented between 2000
and 20003 (Simon et al., 2010, p. 1012). This hit its peak in 2003, when MGIB benefits were at its
highest value since 1991 (Simon et al., 2010, p.

Analysis Of Plato s Republic And Aristotle s Nicomachean...
Upon application for university, hearts are heavy with the uncertainty for the future. An
overwhelming hope to become the person we are meant to be. This journey, called university,
provides the inverse; a worldly creation where past and future are intertwined. A place for
discovery. A place of reflection. Leisure, sport and recreation are culpable in cultivating thyself
in preparation for true reflection, whose telos is knowledge of thyself. This paper will explore
this notion of the journey to true reflection through various historical and present day ideologies.
Context will be provided via personal experiences of each phase, as the yellow brick road, leading
up to reflection. Only then, true discoveries of thyself can be uncovered. Leisure, sport, and
recreation provide the opportunity for growth of mindand body. Both Platos Republic and Aristotle s
Nicomachean Ethics conceptualize this growth through games and sport. What is meant by
growth? What is development in relation to the self? Once sufficiently developed, leisure, sport,
recreation become agents for one to experience thyself in relation to others. Here, socio spatial
boundaries become other dimensional and the self becomes a collection of photos. What does it
mean to be an individual? What identity does the individual give to their community? Pat Power s
notions or creative play, Luc Robene and Dominique Bodin, among many philosophers, thoroughly
explore this interconnectivity that distinguishes the

From 1940s masculine shaped, restricted garments as a result from the war. I wanted to look into
how the punk era used fashion to protest By 1975 the days of mass employment of the 1960s had
changed. The distance between rich and poor in society became wider as the unemployment rate
was the highest since WW2 and plummeted significantly amongst working class youth which
created an anarchic and aggressive movement. It is during this period that Punk first emerged.
Margaret Thatcher came to power in 1979 and the Thatcher era began. This meant that a percentage

But for about 20 million Americans, this loud, habitual snoring can indicate a life threatening disorder know as sleep apnea. An apnea is actually a lack of breath. For most people during sleep, it is normal for the breathing muscles to relax. The problem is, for some people, excessive muscle relaxation occurs which disrupts breathing. • 3. Key Avant-Garde Movements Of The Twentieth Century Key avant garde movements, including Suprematism, Constructivism and Futurism, influenced contemporary political graphics of the twentieth century. Particularly focusing on political and propaganda posters of the Soviet Union it is evident they were influenced by avant garde movements that were developing in neighboring and western countries during the same period. Suprematism, focusing on basic geometric shapes with a limited range of colours is evident in numerous propaganda posters in Russiaat the beginning of the twentieth century. Constructivism, developing from Russian Futurism is aimed to create works that would make the viewer an active viewer. Futurism also influences the posters in a way that allows them to illustrate futuristic and abstract things as well as many posters containing qualities of cubism. Being influenced by these movements it gave the Russian government a way to show they weren t old fashioned and were able to keep updated with the developing countries around them. Futurism is the most important Italian avant garde movements of the twentieth century. Celebrating the advanced technology and urban modernity the world was quickly developing, futurism aimed to demonstrate the beauty of the machine, speed, violence and change. It allowed artists and designers to communicate with an audience in a new way that wasn t so traditional. The Iroquois The Iroquois Vonda Matthews Cultural Anthropology July 7, 2013 Instructor: Rebekah Zinser Kinship is the cornerstone for how people within a society relate to others and race lineages. The Iroquois nation traced their kinship through the matrilineal decent lines. Kinship directly relates to how family groups think, act and live along side each other. Iroquois and divorce Often time s couples marry only to find out that they have a difference of opinion or one spouse has caused serious marital strain on the other. Since the Iroquois couples lived matrilineally, this makes it easier for the woman to dissolve the marriage, keep her children and continue to live at home with her family. If a woman no longer desired to be married to her husband, all she had to do was pack up her husband s belongings and leave them on the steps of the longhouse. When he came home, the husband would find them, realize his wife had terminated the marriage, and return to his home village and his own patrilineage. Many times couples divorce because of infidelity of one or both of the spouses, or from irreconcilable differences. • 5. Radiation Threats Of Astronauts On A Long Journey Through... Samantha Stickles ESS102 Section AD Due: 10/23/15 Radiation Threats to Astronauts on a Long Journey through Space Astronauts travelling to Mars or another distant area of interest would face numerous challenges throughout their journey, one of which is being exposed to radiation from space. There are two types of radiation: ionizing radiation and non ionizing radiation. [1] Non ionizing radiation is radiation that cannot cause electrons to become detached from the atom, like visible light and radio waves. [1] This type of radiation is not dangerous for astronauts and is commonly found on Earth. Ionizing radiation, on the other hand, has enough energy to remove electrons from their orbits around an atom, causing a charged particle. [1] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [1] This type of radiation would be dangerous for astronauts, and it would need to be shielded against for long distance space travel to be viable. SPE are the ejection of very energetic protons, alpha particles and heavier particles into space; these include solar flares and coronal mass ejections. [1] Under normal conditions, astronauts would not be concerned about this, but occasionally, very large SPEs occur that can produce radiation with energy levels high enough to be lethal in a very short period of time. In fact, between Apollo missions 16 and 17, one of the largest SPEs ever recorded occurred, and it produced radiation with energy levels that would be lethal to astronauts outside the atmosphere in under 10 hours. [1] The health risks of radiation exposure can be described as either acute or chronic. Acute exposure is short term and the severity of symptoms ranges from nausea to central nervous system damage and even to death in large doses. [2] Chronic exposure is usually less intense radiation but for a longer period of time, and the health risks include developing cataracts and an increased risk of cancer. [2] This is the most pressing issue for astronaut safety. Normally, when exposed to the low levels of radiation we encounter every day, cells are able to mend themselves very quickly. When we are exposed to high doses, such as astronauts would encounter in space, cells may not be able to repair themselves and can become mutated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Nature And Nature In Coleridge s Frost At Midnight Coleridge often explores the relationship between humanity and nature in his poetry. These two groups are unified in his conversation poem Frost at Midnight , and allow the reader into his internal thoughts. He meditates on comparisons by pairing the magical appearance of frost on the windowpane to how his thoughts are in flux and reflux. Coleridge shows how the thinking of the mindmirrors nature and how repeating patterns reveal universal aspects of poetry, thoughts, and nature. Coleridge makes use of the repetitive patterns in nature and uses them to capture the mind s movement. The structure of the poem uses frost as a guide. Similar to how frost propagates itself, the poem contains organic, repeating fractal patterns with small variations within them. These patterns exist throughout nature in honeycombs, mountains, clouds, and leaves. Furthermore, the speaker of the poem, Coleridge, and his infant son, Hartley reflect the idea of repetition. Repetition exists as Hartley is a replica of Coleridge as children can be seen as versions of their parents. However, Coleridge also points out how he and his son are different as well. JetBlue Airways, based in Forest Hills, New York, was founded in February, 1999, by David Neeleman, the son of Mormon missionaries. He was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, but raised in a tightly knit Mormon family (Gajilan, 2003). JetBlue saved roughly $3 per passenger by cutting out meal service (Barney and Hesterly, 2010), but selected premier label snacks, such as Terra Blue potato chips (Gajilan, 2003). The notable cost saver was utilizing flight crews to clean airline cabins after each flight, which was inspired by the similar team player culture found at Southwest. Special cleaning crews were not needed, and JetBlue was able to speed airplane turnaround time to 35 minutes. This number was substantially below the industry average of one hour, and the quicker turnaround was implemented largely to sell more flights daily (Gajilan, 2003). Neeleman utilized his knowledge of electronic ticketing and Internet based reservations to further reduce staff engaging in customer transactions. A major operational cost saving involved entering the major air industry with a new fleet of Airbus aircraft. Although European made, Airbus was chosen due to their fuel efficiency, easier maintenance, and five year warranty (Gajilan, 2003). Neeleman realized that quick turnaround time was a crucial factor in maximizing profits by simply keeping the new planes in the air longer than the competition. The government had to come up some type of conditions which would attempt to allow the rebellious southern states back into the union. During this time period President Abraham Lincoln appointed provisional military governors to oversee the re establishment of the southern states into the union as well as a functioning government. Yet, during the late 1800 s the Republicans ruled Congress and made efforts during the Reconstruction end to ensure that everyone had the same equal rights by passing the Civil Rights Bill to ensure that everyone had equal rights. This also led to questions as to what to do with the recently freed blacks. The main problem was with the Southern states and getting them to except black, so the government implemented laws and Constitutional Amendments which helped the federal government with the enforcement of equal rights which would give blacks in the south the rights to hold office and vote. This leads us to the freeman s Bureau which was also a part of the Reconstruction Act. The Reconstruction act of 1867 required southern states to except and ratify the 14th Amendment granting equal protection for the freed blacks, and the 15th Amendment guaranteed the right for blacks to vote. Thus, the archetype of Naram SГ®m shows to be the epitome of the perfect male for which other men strive to embody. This concept is conveniently backed by the elders of Naram SГ®m, who were successful in claiming that these attributes came in the form of being divine. This claim to divinity literally underpinned their ascension to power and the relegation of everyone else; rulers were to be revered for their beauty and power because it was truly their god given right. Alas, Winter argues that the sexual allure of the ruler s body firmly functions was a mechanism to continue aggrandizing their own status and dominance. Winter succesfully notes that this dominance and power was also preserved by what we would call propaganda. In regards to another period of art, Winter suggests that aesthetic pleasure can serve as the vehicle by which a highly seductive ideal vision is articulated for the citizen viewer . • 28. Chickasaw Research Paper Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur Oklahoma is a place where many families go to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What many may not know is that the waters in this area were a treasured resource even before statehood. Native Americans were the first to speak of the wonderous health benefits of the water and after the arrival of the white man the preservation of this area would become an issue not only for the Native Americans who discovered it but also for the settlers who viewed it as an opportunity to become rich. Acquisition of this land would lead to the founding of Oklahoma s first and last National Park. Originally named Platt National Park, the birth of this area has given way to years of enjoyment for its patrons, and it has carried in its waters a rich history of Native Americans, the federal government, and a rowdy group of enterprising settlers. The Chickasaw however knew that their control of the area was slowly fading away as more and more tribes lost land to settler allocation, the Chickasaw were presented with another option to ensure preservation of the ... • 29. The Opening Scene Of The Book Acts Essay In the opening scene of the book Acts, Luke records Jesus, who has recently risen, addressing the Apostles. Before He ascended into heaven, He left His disciples with a commission: to be witnesses. In Acts 1:8, Jesus stated, [Y]ou will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Contextually, these last words of Jesuswere remarkable to the immediate audience, and His last words are remarkable to those who properly interpret Acts 1:8. The context of Acts 1:8, the interpretation, and the practically of Acts 1:8 reveal effective principles for Christians who desire to spread the Gospel throughout the ends of the earth. Acts is a historically accurate book that a human author wrote in a particular time, in a specific place, and to a certain audience. Although there are people today who believe that the Bible magically arrived and that it is full of fantasy stories, the truth is that God divinely used man to record actual events. In Acts, He used Luke to record worth noting events. There are, according to Thomas L. Constable, primarily two supporting arguments for Lukan s authorship in Acts: (1) internal evidence, such as certain passages that use the first person plural that can refer to Luke, and (2) external evidence. External evidence refers to the early church fathers that referred to Luke as the author of Acts. God had divinely instilled a purpose for Luke to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the differences were as follows; Hawkins improvisations were based on his superior knowledge of harmony, Young s were rooted in the blues, Hawkins played with a rhythmic approach that was always closely tied to the beat, and Young s rhythmic conception was much looser, and often untied to the beat. • 31. Analysis Of The Book Opens With Carruthers The novel opens with Carruthers, a British Foreign Office employee, recalling the many invitations extended to him during his stay in London. Unfortunately, in his arrogance, the man turned down the majority of invitations, only to find himself with nowhere to go. This pushes Carruthers to consider the unappealing invitation of his old acquaintance Davies. Davies has invited Carruthers on a yachting journey filled with sailing and duck hunting, across the North Seaand into the Baltic, towards the Frisian Islands, right off the coast of Germany. Carruthers arrives to find a rather small vessel with no crew present. He quickly realizes that this is no relaxing vacation after all. While Davies shows him the ropes, Carruthers tries his best to help sail the Ducibella. As they travel across the sea, they encounter beautiful scenery and even other sailors. Eventually, Davies tells Carruthers about his previous journey through the Frisian Islands. He reveals that a German barge yacht, owned by a man named Dollmann, had baited the Ducibella onto a shoal in a troublesome sea that surely would have caused the small yacht to perish, if not for a small channel and the Bartels. Davies finishes his story in a mode of inquiry; he cannot figure out the motivation behind Dollmann s behavior. He comes to the conclusion that Dollmann must be an Englishman and a spy, due to his actions, looks, and Davies analyses of the channels. Davies proceeds to lay out Dollmann s possible route and tells ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Decision Making Is Defined As A Cognitive Process Forum 2: Original post Decision Making In life individuals are faced with a continuous flow of decisions to be made and problems to be solved. Decision making is defined as a cognitive process in which a choice is developed regarding a belief or course of action from among two or more alternatives (Robbins Judge, 2009). Individuals compose decisions as a reaction to a problem, a perceived deviation linking the present condition and a desired condition (Robbins, 2009). For example, in the radiation oncology field, multiple devices are used to make treatments more accurate, reproducible, and elevate patient comfort. These devices are used frequently so they quickly become worn. They must be checked periodically to ensure structural stability and compliance with infectious control regulations. Employees are given the task of examining the devices, making decisions regarding the condition of the devices, and reporting what needs to be replaced. Managers and employees must keep in mind that incessant replacement of these devices is costly and can cause interruptions in patient care. Managers and employees should compose optimal decisions regarding the care and replacement of such devices in order to be effective, efficient, and productive. Rational Decision Making Model One process discussed in organizational behavior for decision making is the Rational Decision Making Model. This model employs six steps for decision making: 1.Interpret the problem. 2.Determine the decision ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A place of reflection. Leisure, sport and recreation are culpable in cultivating thyself in preparation for true reflection, whose telos is knowledge of thyself. This paper will explore this notion of the journey to true reflection through various historical and present day ideologies. What is meant by growth? What is development in relation to the self? Once sufficiently developed, leisure, sport, recreation become agents for one to experience thyself in relation to others.
