Is Bilingualism Harmful
The term bilingualism refers to the ability of knowing and delivering more than one language.
Throughout the years society has evolved and developed in such a way that the majority of the
world is now multilingual. Once a up on a time bilingualism was considered harmful to one s
development and IQ. This happened at the beginning of the century, haw ever since then we have
conducted numerous researches studies that proves this wrong. Today bilingualism is often seen as
a brain sharpening benefit, a condition that can protect and preserve cognitive function well into
old age. Due to the mixture of culture people are now exposed to a variety of languages from
which they benefit in different ways. Not only that they learn from each other the languagebut they
adapt to a variety of traditions and cultures. For example as I visited London last summer I have

Usually people think in their own language first, before actually translating it in another language.
For instance one of my cousins who actually lives in London and is obviously a fluent English
speaker has found it very difficult at first to stop herself from thinking in her own language which
is Romanian and sometimes even mixing the two up. Another example would be that one of my
classmates had to do a presentation and she accidently said I have emotions which actually is
incorrect in English. She basically thought in Romanian and purely translated it in English I am
nervous .
In reference to the text Bilingual lives, Bilingual experience which says : The terms of the second

The Spinal Cord Injury ( Sci )
Introduction
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) can result in loss or permanent damage of motor, sensory or autonomic
function, generally caused by physical trauma to the spinal cord. In humans the most common type
of SCI is hemisection or contusion (Nandoe Tewarie et al. 2009). This incomplete injury, leads to
swelling or compression of the spinal cord due to bone displacement, resulting in partial loss of
function and/or sensation. Complete severing of the spinal cord fibres can occur, although less
often, and results in impairment of all function and sensation below the trauma site (Sobani et al.
2010). Due to the complicated physiology of the spinal cord and central nervous system, and their
diminished regenerative properties, currently, there have been no effective forms of treatment of
SCI.
SCI occurs in two stages. The primary stage being the physical injury itself causing damage to the
spinal cord, resulting in bruising, a possible demyelination of axons, cell apoptosis as well as
subsequent hemorrhaging at the injury site (Inukai et al. 2009). The secondary stage involves
exacerbation of the damage via initiation of the body s inflammatory response. Immediately
following injury, pro inflammatory cytokines; interleukin beta (IL ОІ) and tumor necrosis factor
alpha (TNFО±) are released from both neighboring and damaged cells, resulting in an up regulation
of the inflammatory response, resulting in cyst formation. These cysts are left behind post
inflammation and hamper recovery

What Is The Impact Of The Russian Economy
Russia, officially recognized as the Russian Federation, is the largest country in the world,
spanning over 17 million square kilometers of the globe. It is the 9th most populous country in the
world, with a population of nearly 144 million people. Nearly 200 national and/or ethnic groups are
represented in Russia, but 77.7% of the population identifies as Russian. The Russia we know
today originates in the 12th century when the Principality of Muscovy was founded, and it grew to
become the third largest empire in history. In 1917, a communist regime seized power and formed
the USSR. The USSR plundered politically and economically, and in 1991, the USSR disintegrated.

Russia s recent recession was caused by a combination of falling oil prices, international
sanctions, and structural limitations. The Russian economy is heavily reliant on its natural
resource deposits, and in particular, it is reliant on oil. A significant portion of the oil and energy
sector is nationalized, and petroleum (crude, refined, and gas) accounts for 54% of Russia s
exports. Russia s heavy reliance on oil makes it vulnerable to terms of trade shocks, and thus,
when oil prices plunged 77% from June 2014 to January 2016, Russia entered a recession. Falling
oil prices were further compounded by the imposition of economic sanctions. Beginning in 2014,
the United States and its European allies imposed sanctions against Russia for its aggressive
activity in Ukraine and subsequent annexation of Crimea. These sanctions, among other things,
limit the financing of six of Russia s largest banks and four energy companies, cut into Russia s
ability to produce oil, and discouraged exports to Russia. In part because of these sanctions and in
part because of its entrenched Soviet structures and institutions, Russia s economy remains
relatively closed; its current account balance amounts to a positive 3.5% of its GDP. The double
shock of falling oil prices and international sanctions spurred Russia s 2014 recession, but the
Russian economy is expected to recover as oil prices

William Shakespeare s Time
The timeless, genius, iconic writer Shakespeare, still to this day has his stories and plays
executed and performed. Throughout decades the writer s stories stand strong. Now for nearly
five hundred years, his work of tales and stories remain and are idolized. Shakespeare s many
plays still are relevant even with how immensely the time has changed. Then again, today s time
has evolved and grown very far from what William Shakespeares knew in his life time. Many such
topics such as, marriages and how our society views them. How theaters are meant to be, and how
they are structured with rules. Our entertainment coming from actors and actresses, and how we
respect them. And even how we see music and acting is our industry. Times have changed and
spiraled into a very different direction.
The first concept of how Shakespeare s time is much different than our own, is how we perceive
the entire idea and thought of how a theater should be treated and how it works. The obvious first
thought that comes to our mind, is that we now have grown to watch television shows and movies
much more than live production. This is because evolution of technology, but you might be
surprised when you hear how the theater was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an article called Actors in Shakespeare s Day , it states how the public eye saw many actors.
First off, actresses were very disrespected and not very common because the gender rights were
not equal, unlike today. So, many actors were critiqued or made fun of, and seen as jokers. Many
audience members watching the actors would not respect them (like stated above, they would yell
things at the actors and throw things on the stage). Nevertheless, people would still pile into the
theaters and watch the shows quite often. In today s time, we love and respect many actors and
actresses. We idolize them and they get paid very much for entertaining

Social Media Anxiety
The Relationship of Social Media and Social Anxiety The ever growing world of social media is
a network of sites and websites designs to have individuals share pictures and ideas will all their
friends instantly. The popularity of these sites bursted right out of the gates and are used by
billions of people every day. While such sites may appear harmless, these interactive platforms are
causing an immense rise in social anxiety. These social networks are actually damaging the mental
health of many users. Over fifteen million people in the United States are diagnosed with social
anxiety, and in today s world the number of causes linked to social media is on the rise. Most of
these cases are in individuals starting at thirteen, but the ages rage significantly. According to The
American Association of Depression and Anxiety social anxiety can be defined as, The extreme fear
of being scrutinized and judged by others in social or performance situations. This type of anxiety
is closely linked with feeling of loneliness; and this loneliness only intensifies the feelings of
anxiety and paranoia. Social paranoia stems from the fear rejection. These individuals are terrified
they will humiliate or embarrass themselves, so they simply withdraw. This specificity type of
anxiety interferes significantly with daily routines, occupational performance, or social life, making
it difficult to complete school, interview and get a job, create true friendships and romantic
relationships.

Comparing Lord Of The Flies And To Kill A Mockingbird
Lord of the Flies vs To Kill a Mockingbird
In Lord of the Flies, British schoolboys are stranded on a tropical island. In an attempt to recreate
the civilization they left behind, they nominate Ralph as their leader, with the smart and rational
Piggy by his side. But Jack wants to lead, too, and one by one, he lures the boys from reason and
humanity to savagery and a survival and inhuman state; they become the hunters. In Lord of the
Flies, William Golding gives us a glimpse of the savagery that controls even the most civilized
human beings. In To Kill a Mockingbird, author Harper Lee uses interesting characters to explore
civil rights and racism in the segregated Southern United States of the 1930s. Narrated by Scout
Finch, you learn about her father Atticus Finch, an attorney who hopelessly fights to prove the
innocence of a black man wrongly accused of rape; and about Boo Radley, a mysterious neighbour
who saves Scout and her brother Jem from being killed.
Lord of the Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird are still relevant today, the events and themes are still
reflected in today s society such as scapegoating; blaming a person for the wrongdoings, mistakes,
or faults of others, especially for reasons of practicality. Piggy, Simon and the beast are examples of
scapegoats in Lord of the Flies and Tom Robinson and Boo Radley are scapegoats in To Kill a
Mockingbird. In the novel Lord of the Flies the characters such as Piggy, Simon and the beast are

radiotherapy and stem cell transplant ( Leukaemia amp; Lymphoma Research ). Chemotherapy
is the main combination of anti cancer drugs. To have the best result these drugs need to be
taken in a sequence. Due to specific diagnosis and stages of their disease patients will be given
different protocols. Radiotherapy for some patients could be used along with chemotherapy.
This uses high energy rays to kill cancer cells and during treatment shows decrease in the disease
( Leukaemia amp; Lymphoma Research ). Stem cell transplant is used when all the other
treatments are unsuccessful. This treatment is the most intensive form and most cases patients

Analysis Of Pearl s Universe
Duha Salamah Professor Kolkachian 20 October 2015 PSYC1A Pearl s Universe Cartoon
Network s Steven Universe is a lovable children s show that is quickly gaining immense
popularity as well as ell deserved praise due to the show s avid representation of women, queer
individuals, and people of color. Pearl, a protagonist on the show, is one of the powerful Rose
Quartz closest followers as well as one of the last Gems on Earth to survive the war between the
Crystal Gems (Rose s army) and the Homeworld Gems. Gems are a species that are characterized
by their corresponding gemstone (Pearl s gemstone is a pearl, while Rose s is a quartz). All
Gems are sexless and there seems to be an absence of sexual dimorphism in the species, however
all Gems seem to have traits that are commonly associated with human femininity and actively
respond to the pronouns she and her aside from Steven, who is Rose s half human half Gem son.
Pearl lives with and fights along Garnet and Amethyst, the only other two Crystal Gems that
survived the war, and Steven, Rose s son. It is abundantly clear that Pearl was/is still in love
with Rose, proudly crediting herself as Rose s sole confidant and making sure her every act is
for Rose and her legacy. Pearl s love for Rose eventually grows to the point of obsessive
recklessness, continuously sacrificing herself and convincing herself that she does not matter all
for Rose s sake. The slight mention of her can send Pearl into a flurry of emotions, from

How Did Roman Music Influence Ancient Greek Culture
When a person hears Ancient Greece or Ancient Rome he probably envisions great military battles
or grand columns that adorn every structure. However, music, while not as equally honored as the
Colosseum, still deserves recognition for playing an integral part in citizens lives during ancient
times. While knowledge of ancient Greek and Roman musicis limited to fragments of old music
scores from the era, literary references, and the actual remains of musical instruments, society will
still benefit from studying these rich ancient cultures. Obviously, music from both these
civilizations are extremely similar to each other in the role it plays in society and the instruments
used due to the influence of ancient Greeceon Rome.
In both cultures, music played a large role in society. In Ancient Greece, music was essential to...

This high regard for music in life stemmed from Greek mythology itself. For example, Amphion
learned music from the Greek god Hermes and then with a golden lyre, he built Thebes by
moving stones into place with the sound of his playing. There also many references to indicate
that music played an important role in the Greek perception of how their race had come into
existence and how their destinies were controlled by the Gods. Other artistic forms, such as
literature, praise music as well: most of the known Greek poetry and dramas today were sung or
accompanied by music in ancient times. Professional musicians were well respected and people
who achieved small accomplishments in music were regarded as cultural and tasteful.

PR Paper
P.A.M. Many are unclear on the differences between public relations, advertisement, and marketing.
They are very different and each has distinct characteristics that define their roles in the workforce.
When public relations, marketing, and advertisement are used together they can be used to form a
very successful plan if used to their full advantages.
Worldwide, people aren t sure what public relationsrole is in the workplace. Public relations is a
planned communication that builds relationships between organizations (What is Public
Relations). Someone who works in the public relations field can find themselves doing a number
of tasks daily. Planning, implementing, researching, and evaluating are just some of the key tasks
when working in the field (What is Public Relations). The main goal of public relations is building
a reputation for a company since in today s competitive market reputation can make or break a
company. The main goal of public relations is to manage and spread information to create a
favorable image for the organization through various media outlets. (Public Relations).
When someone mentions the word advertisement the most common things to come to mind are,
newspaper, billboards, and commercials. Advertisement can be a paid announcement, a public
notice, or the act of making something known (Advertisement). Advertising is the action of calling
attention to something (What is Advertising) through a number

Why Do You Leave A Team After Being Together Since Second...
Learn From The Past, Gain From The Future Sometimes it s hard to imagine ever abandoning
people that mean so much to you. Majority of the time when someone or something leaves for an
uncertain reason there is a lot of talk about it. In my case people thought I was arrogant or
thought less of them, but that was not the case. I begged for this for three years, and about a
year ago in July I finally got the chance; the chance to try new things and to put myself out there.

It was average game day on Sunday in Denville, the team and I did our typical lap around the

younger players as subs...great, I thought to myself as I watched Deville volley back and forth
flawlessly. I started to think the game that hadn t even started yet was over, we were going to
lose. Before the referees call for kick off, Mr. Hall ordered a group huddle. He gave us our
positions and told us to take the field, but as I was running out he called me back over. I trotted

explained, I want you to be right with the left mid, and if the girl gets past you Cate will take
care of her. I would rather you stay up then stay back. Before I got a chance to say how absurd
that is the referee called for kick off, so I just gave an uncertain nod and jogged to my position.
Thinking about what my coach had just said to me I actually chuckled a little bit. What is the
point of having me play defense if I m practically playing another left mid, I thought, Like that

An Analysis Of Ros Suskind s A Hope
Ros Suskind: A hope in the Unseen
A typical high school student like Cedric Jennings in the novel A hope in the Unseen would never
prefer to write on the style and voice of a novel over a mathematical derivation of two pages. Style
is very difficult to determine in a novel, but what is more difficult is to find the thin and blurred
line between style and voice. Theoretically, while style is the way by which an author chooses
words, makes decisions on sentence structures; whether long or short, and also paragraph structure,
voice is the external tincture of attitude and demeanour every reader would be able to link to a
particular author while reading any of the author s works.
Authors have over the ages, managed to infuse their external life into their works, not through the
contents, but through the style they choose to bring into bare in the writing. Ros Suskind is one of
the many authors who have gone this way in trying to pass on a message of resilience, hope and
doggedness in the novel A hope in the Unseen .
In the course of this study, an analysis of the development and enhancement of the characterization
of Cedric Jennings will be carried out. This analysis will be carried out under the specific targets
of syntax, use of figurative, selection of details and diction.
The style of writing inherent in this work was made prominent by the author s point of view. He
used the omniscient point of view, which added his ability to honestly but literarily delve into the

This node is made out of cast iron, weighs roughly 80 kg and was designed specifically for this
project. To allow for easier manufacturing, the ends of the beams that make up the sides of the
outer polygons were cut rectangular. To secure the beams to the node, bolts that are high strength
and were pre stressed were used. In order to fix the beam in its right position, a M16 bolt was
used, this also allowed the transfer of torsional moments. The cushions that cover the hexagons have
aluminum framing for them that are supported by short brackets that are welded onto the top of
these beams. A detailed drawing of these beams and their connections is shown below.

Frowde and Young (2016) conducted a systematic review of the literature on the use of
psychedelics in the treatment of unipolar mood disorders before psychedelics were legally

databases, and after thorough screening and examination, the authors included 21 studies,
published between 1949 and 1973, in their systematic review. The sample sizes in these studies
ranged from 5 to 77, whereas the total sample size across all of the studies was 423 (where it was
possible to estimate). The therapeutic paradigms were varied in each of the studies and they
employed a range of 1 to 58 sessions with psychedelics. The psychedelic drugs used in these
studies were LSD and mescaline in addition to LSD, and the dosages used were varied. The
absence of studies that used psilocybin as the psychedelic compound is likely because psilocybin

The Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima The Public Explanation (1945) is a transcription of President
Truman s announcement to the American public about the dropping of the atomic bomb. His
speech was also directed to political and military leaders around the world. Truman s speech was
given to inform the people of the bomb, but also to show the world what they are dealing with.
The selection was written on August 6, 1945, sixteen hours after America dropped the atomic bomb

the bombing such as a demonstration of the bomb that could have convinced them to stop resisting.
Or that America could have kept bombing them conventional till they surrendered. Another
argument was that the bomb was inhuman due to it killing civilians that had no part in the war.
This also leads to another argument that Truman didn t actually know the damage the bomb was

Figurative Language In The Open Window
In The Open Window by Hector Hugh Munro (also known as Saki), it is evident that Munro is
trying to get a significant message about truth and deception across to the audience. He tells a
story of a fifteen year old, Vera, who frightens a man, Mr. Nuttel, with a deliberate lie about her
uncle, Mr. Sappleton, and his two brothers in law drowning in a bog. The objective of this
narrative is to display dishonesty and what appears to be, opposed to reality, in underlying forms
of figurative language. The amount of figurative language in this story by Saki, is what makes it
as interesting as it is. Saki uses imagery to create an eerie feeling as the hunting party of Vera s
uncle returns through the open window. Saki gives off images like, deepening

Major Characteristics Of A Philippine Culture
Philippine Cultural Awareness Culture is the shared patterns of behaviors and interactions,

With past conflicts with the Spanish and Asian countries, it is apparent that the Filipinos have
picked up a number of their tendencies along with their culture. The weather of the Philippines has
had a substantial effect on population, agriculture, smuggling, and insurgency. With an average of
seventy four degrees Fahrenheit year round; mean summer the highs stay around one hundred
degrees with the winters only dropping forty eight degrees Fahrenheit. The Philippines had a
population growth rate of 1.51% in 2017, which is one of the highest in the Asian countries. The
weather has also helped with agriculture. With its main agricultural crops, rice, corn, coconut,
sugarcane, bananas, pineapple, coffee, mangoes, tobacco, and abaca (which is a banana like plant),
the Philippines thrives with agriculture. Smuggling has always been a huge problem. In 2012,
According to the International Monterey Fund s Direction of Trade Statistics, the value of
smuggling reached $19.6 billion. Insurgencies in the Philippines go as far back as the Spanish rule
in the 1800 s. Ongoing insurgencies date back to the 1940 s with farmers and landlords, government
power struggles, communistic views, and of course religion. The areas, structures, capabilities,
organizations, people, and events I will cover are significant to military counterinsurgency
operations. The areas and structures most significant to insurgency, in my opinion, would be

Paul is saying if you are going to make a change in the world you should not give up and to keep

music, make him the man he is recognized as today.
Although Paul was known as the greatest guitar player, in his early years he also played many

Non alcoholic Beverage Industry Trends and Justification
Industry Trends
Today Non alcoholic Beverage Industry continues to grow due to the growing population and
rise of the middle class, especially in emerging markets, and disposable income. All these are key
growth drivers for non alcoholic beverage companies to thrive. According to the Market
Intelligence firm Euromonitor International predicts the middle class around the country will
make up 1.5 billion households by 2020, a 25% rise since 2012. According to the Bureau of
Economic Analysis report, U.S. consumption accounts for over two thirds of the country s gross
domestic product (or GDP). Individuals tend to spend more with a rise in their disposable income.
The increase in consumer confidence also increases consumption expenditure
(www.marketrealist.com). Another reason non alcoholic beverage is on the growth because
consumers are more health conscious, and sugary drinks are on the decline. According to the
Center for Disease Control and Prevention, calories from added sugars in soda are down 39
percent since 2000 because Americans are more conscious about their weight and the rising obesity
rates. Two Thirds of U.S. adults prove to be overweight or obese, a number that has been rising
steadily for the past three decades (www.cnbc.com). According to the latest Energy Drink

Thesis For Nosferatu
Rhetorical Outline
Proposition: The film Nosferatu was a key step in establishing the modern standard of the vampire
as an icon of horror.
Audience: Persons with a high level of interest in the history and development of film, specifically
vampire or German Expressionist film. The book discusses how Nosferatu is an important
milestone in cinematic history for its pioneering in both the creation of the vampire icon and its use
of cutting edge film techniques, so people with an advanced interest in the history of film would
find this book appealing. Additionally, it holds a lot of important analysis for students required to
study Nosferatu, and provides insight to the significance of the film that they would not have

She discusses how Weimar Cinema came to be and how it did so well financially, moves onto
the introduction of Expressionism into film from its origin in theater and painting, and finally
describes the characteristics of Expressionism in Cinema as opposed to other artforms. From
there, she discusses how the various members of the Prana cinema team came together and how
their expertise contributed to the movie, how they prepared the masses for Nosferatu, and how
they presented the movie. However, she provides the counterpoint of how Florence Stoker s
lawsuit against the Prana film company damaged the movie s reputation and popularity. From
there she describes how the plot of Nosferatu follows the pattern established by Noel Carroll in
Philosophy of Horror of an onset phase, a discovery phase, a confirmation phase, and a
confrontation phase. As the chapter progresses, Massaccesi s description of the plot includes
lengthy and in depth analyses of each character in terms of their interactions with each other and
with the setting(s). From there she considers the significance of various aspects of the film in
relation to the film s events and characters, such as camera angles and symbolic imagery, She also
discusses the significance of other aspects of the film in relation to the sociopolitical situation in
Germany and Europe as a whole, applying themes such as the defeat of a tyrannical villain figure or
the supernatural wonder associated with Romantic artwork.
Rhetorical Strategies: Massaccesi uses a more expository and frank structure, opting to be very

In A Sorrowful Woman, written by Gail Godwin the marriage for the unnamed woman is a
torment. The whole time, she suffers from grief and sadness. Meanwhile, the husband is a great
man. He shows her compassion, patience, forgiveness, and understanding. He adjusts his life
around her episodes to accommodate her needs. She is imprisoned in her mind with this disorder
which eventually leads to her suicide. Bipolar Disorder is the psychiatric illness characterized by
both manic and depressive episodes or manic ones only. In the short storyA Sorrowful Womanmom

But we mutter something under our breath and look bothered. Unfortunately, Bipolar Disorder
irritation has a great deal of strength behind it. The reaction becomes irresistible. The honking,
the ranting and possibly cutting someone off in traffic. Throwing items is more evidence of
combative irritation. After supper several nights later, she hit the child. She had known she was
going to do it when the father would see. I m sorry, she said, collapsing on the floor. (Godwin,

help take the pressure off. He thinks this will make her feel less stressed.
Another indication of Bipolar Disorder is creating and believing concepts or realities that do not

Arabian Nights Research Paper
Arabian Nights Essay The stories of The Arabian Nights examine the idea of living a more
meaningful life. Indeed, the stories suggest that certain life lessons need to be learned in order to
live a more prosperous and meaningful life. In each story, therefore, Sheharezade imparts a great
deal of wisdom to her husband, the Sultan Shariar, in an attempt to change his perspective on life,
and to save her own. From her stories he learns, firstly, that in order to live well a person must
accept responsibilityfor their actions. The sultan also learns that trust and loyalty, either given or
betrayed, has a significant impact on a person s capability to live a life with meaning. Finally, he
learns that wealth offers opportunity to accomplish great good or great evil; however, it is
important for a truly successful person to treat wealth responsibly and to value people more than
material items. From every story she tells him, both the Sultan and the viewer understand more
about the importance of living a truly meaningful life and how to do so. One lesson that a
number of characters must learn in order to change their ways and live more prosperously is to
accept responsibility for their actions. In the story Bak Bak the Sultan s Jester, for example, when

Communication Skills Needed Throughout A Child s...
The main form of communication in society is spoken language, supported and enhanced by the
delivery of gestures, facial expressions, body posture and movement (Fellowes Oakley, 2014, pp.
18 19). To be able to understand language a child will first need to understand speech. Both
expressive and receptive oral languageare important for communicationskills needed throughout a
child s schooling (2014, p. 19). Children learn to copy and produce meaningful speech gradually
and decode language used by people around them (2014, p. 20).
Joining both Semiotic systems are ways meanings are communicated between people, and both
spoken and written language are part of one semiotic system (Anstey Bull, cited in Fellowes
Oakley, 2014, p. 19).
Written
Depending on the purpose and audience, written genres can be either expressive/imaginative or
factual (Emmitt, 2010, p. 77). The expressive/imaginative genre delivers feelings in an imaginative
way including journals, poetic literacy and narratives (2010, p. 77). Factual types convey
information through reports, descriptions and textbooks (2010, p. 77). Digital technologies are
changing communication through written language with text messages, emails, Facebook and now
Twitter which has a limited 140 characters per tweet (2010, p. 77). Digital media are returning
language to conversational, interactive, here and now foundations as well as using metaphors,
concrete images in virtual worlds (Gee Hayes, 2011, p. 6).

years to over 100. The company manufactures two types of anchors in different sizes. The types are
the mushroom/bell anchor and the snap hook anchor. Albatross Anchor has many manufacturing
problems which are the cause of the company not doing as well as it should be. The company is

E. The capacity and facilities have out grown what the company has now. The company was
designed to be a small manufacturer. Albatross is sitting on 12 acres of land they would be able
to expand to make room for better technology. They have plenty of land to become an aggressive
modern company, who is producing a top quality product. They can be the top producer of
anchors with the changes that need to come about. Capacity is the maximum amount capable of
producing. Another why to expand the capacity is to consider outsourcing. Outsourcing would
come into play when they cannot set up the equipment and they need to produce product to
satisfy an order. Some things to consider are the cost of making the product, such as labor, raw
materials, and overhead. The facilities need to be made larger. The area that holds the raw
materials should be expanded and should be close to the receiving area. Finished products
should be close to the shipping area. This would cut down on time by not having to move
product from such a long distance. The receiving and shipping should be together on the side
where imports and exports are done. F. Service to customers is not very good. Long lead times
and bad shipping methods are cause for problems. Accessibility and convenience are also a cause
for concern.

Analysis Of The Play By Lin Manuel Miranda s Hamilton
Patiences is a Virtue
In the play created by Lin Manuel Miranda called Hamilton we learn an astounding amount of
different lessons as diverse as from the importance of family to patience. Miranda uses the
characters in the play to convey the importance of patience is a variety of ways. Hamilton,
Washington, and Angelica all have a conflict with patiencein this extraordinary play. What
separates each of these characters conflicts with patience is their individualized struggle with the
challenge of patience itself, and their ability or inability to successfully contain the impulse of
losing control which is represented numerous times in the play.
Alexander Hamilton is portrayed as a young man hungry for the chance to leave his mark on
history. At birth, Hamilton was subject to challenges due to his parents inability to care for him.
In the opening song the introduction of hamilton s struggle as a child is presented to us through
narration. The play begins, How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a
scotsman...impoverished, in squalor grow up to be a hero and a scholar ( Alexander Hamilton
0:08)? Hamilton s correlation with patience is so prevalent in this quote because, as you see here,
without the patience to overcome the challenge that an orphan faces such as the absence of a true
parent figure, there would be no story to tell. Hamilton overcomes the odds he faced as a young
child and as stated, becomes a hero and a scholar. Hamilton also shows an inability to

Strategy And Execution Of The Blue Ocean
To shift from Red Ocean to blue ocean, emphasis must be made to the six principles/steps that leads
to the formulation and execution of the blue ocean strategy. Chan and Maubourgne identified that
the first step to create the blue ocean strategy is to reestablish the market limit to breach
competition so that the blue ocean becomes apparent using the six path framework. The challenge a
company faces in order to succeed is spotting the opportunities. The six steps are:
1.Look for possible alternatives with exceptional value to choose from rather than a mere substitute;
2.Examine the industry where the company is in to determine which factors dictates customers to
move from one group to another to stand out in the strategic group the company is in;
3.Question the current market and focus on the previously neglected segment of the market, be it
the purchaser, the user or the buyer;
4.Conceive complementary products and services to create a value curve;
5.Shift buyer s appeal from emotional to functional or functional to emotional; and
6.Identify decisive, irreversible trends that have clear trajectory and implement change to unlock
new opportunities.
The second step to creating the blue ocean is strategizing, by focusing on the big picture the
performance of the organization, instead of getting caught up in the operational detail. This is what
differentiates those in the Red Ocean from those in the blue ocean. According to the authors, the
four steps to visualize

Argumentative Essay On Blink 182
Blink 182 has released six albums over their nearly 25 year music career. The pop punk band,
made up of bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker and former guitarist/vocalist
Tom DeLonge, hit it big in 1999 with their third album, Enema of the State, anchored by massive
hits What s My Age Again and All the Small Things. While these songs, along with fan favorites
such as Dammit and Man Overboard have been huge singles for the band, they have also

underrated singles and why you should take another listen. Number Six: Adam s Song While
not a slouch, this song always gets eclipsed by Enema of the State s two other massive hit

Why Is Chivalry Important
In today s world, there are many examples of chivalry that are not being reflected on. Respect,
bravery, and loyalty, are no longer a focus in today s culture. Many people decline to show these
traits. This starts the topic saying that chivalry is still necessary in today s society. Today, people
in Western society basically have no respect towards others. To have respect, people should never
have contempt for others. As children, people were educated to respect adults and the rules. For
this reason, everyone should always value other people s opinions. People should never stereotype
others by what they say or do. In the article, Respect has Great Importance in Everyday Life by

Heave in Hell in C.S. LewisВґ The Great Divorce Essay
In his novel The Great Divorce, C.S. Lewis depicts two settings: one of a grey town where
whatever you want is provided for you and another of grand pasture. These settings, in the book,
represent Heaven in Hell in a way, depending on which character s perspective the places are
viewed from. However, the places that the main character visits and the journey that he takes is one
that can be used to model the journey of our spiritual walk. Similar to how the protagonist starts in a
bleak town then travels through a beautiful but harsh pasture towards the mountains, our lives start
in the darkness of sin, but then we travel through the treacherous but worthwhile journey of faith
towards eternity with God.
As humans, we are born into sin; from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But there is salvation through Christ. In the novel, the protagonist and others travel to the most
glorious landscape they ve ever seen. They soon find that the land is so dense that it takes all of
their strength to lift merely a leaf; the grass pokes up into their feet, making the terrain difficult to
cross. The solid people of what we soon learn is Heaven promise that walking upon the grass
towards the mountains will hurt less at every step. It s understood that the mountains represent the
city of Heaven, or an eternal life with God. Crossing the terrain is similar to the trials we face on
our walk with Him; 2 Timothy 3:12 mentions that Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in
Christ Jesus will be persecuted, but James 1:12 asserts, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast
under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has
promised to those who love him. Indeed, as the solid people continually promise, the journey
becomes easier the closer the ghosts get to the mountains. In a similar fashion, our walks with Him
become less tumultuous as we grow closer to Him, until our eventual deaths where we can finally
be with Him in heaven.
There is a point where this general model fails, though. Ephesians 2:8 states, For by grace you
have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. This verse is
the basis of sola fide, meaning we as humans are given the

smelled of raisins, but he was on his way. He had managed to elude Petunia s hawk like watch on
him and prevail against all odds. In his hand, he still tightly clutched the locket, half afraid it
would suddenly slip through his fingers. Quite honestly, it wouldn t surprise him if it did. In the
wizarding world, anything was possible. Which was sometimes an unprecedented problem.
Through the hexes and curses, riddles and potions, it could be hard to know what to believe. Harry
was so sick of being lied to. It was an infuriating game of tag and chase. Every... Show more content

Strangely though, Petunia was still sitting at the table. Almost expectantly, like she was waiting
for something. Noticing Harry still standing there, she gave him a nasty glare. What are you still
doing here, boy? The malice in her tone was evident, as always. Harry sighed and left. Though
he tried to ignore it, Harry couldn t help but remain curious over Petunia s peculiar anxiety.
Lying awake in bed, he listened. The house was quiet for the longest time, aside from the low
hum of the television. Then, Harry heard the phone ring. Petunia must ve jumped up suddenly,
because he heard her chair scrape against the floor. Petunia hissed into the phone urgently.
Swiftly slinking out of bed, Harry carefully opened his door. Edging along the hallway, he
moved until Petunia s voice was just around the corner. Yes. I have it. I ve had it ever since Lily
died. No. Lily s pensieve is safe. I understand. It remains in the package hidden in the kitchen. It s
inside an empty jar on a topmost shelf. Harry had gone pale. His mother s memories were in this
very house, just within his grasp. And now, he knew exactly where they were. Listen, I don t want
to be in any part of this... None of this was supposed to happen... that was an accident... Harry was
already dashing back to the cupboard. He hardly got any sleep that night. Thoughts of what this
pensieve could possibly hold, kept him up. But why did Petunia have it? Harry

Substitution And Elimination Reaction Lab Report
Substitution and Elimination Reactions Substitution reactions replace a functional group with a
new group. These reactions compete with elimination reactions in which a group is eliminated and
a ПЂ (pi) bond is formed. Substitution reactions occur when a nucleophile is added to an
electrophile/substrate. Elimination reactions occur when a base is added to an electrophile
/substrate. The electrophile must contain a leaving group to be considered a substrate. Alkyl
Halides Alkyl Halides are the common substrate used in substitution and elimination reactions.
Alkyl Halides are halogen containing alkane compounds. These compounds are commonly used as
the electrophile in substitution reactions. Naming Alkyl Halides is similar to naming alkanes.
Halogen substituents are named just like alkane substituents, for example if there is a chlorine
attached to an ethane the chlorine substituent will be named using the word chloro . The other
halogens are named using the words flouro , bromo , and iodo respectively. These possible
substituents are listed alphabetically along with the alkane substituents. When dealing with alkyl
halides it is important to note that the carbons attached to the halogens and the carbons attached to
those carbons are involved in the reaction process, therefore we designate these carbons with
special symbols to differentiate them from the rest of the molecule. The carbon atom that is bonded
to the halogen is designated the О± (alpha) carbon. The carbons that are

Comparing Mccandless, Emerson, And Henry David Thoreau
Self reliance is the freedom of being independent. One only relies on oneself and doesn t look for
help or for anyone to save them. One is perfectly content with being solely reliant. Three people
who believed greatly in self reliance were Chris McCandless, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry
David Thoreau. They had many different beliefs and along with acting out in civil disobedience,
acting in nonconformity, thinking nature was most important, and being a transcendentalist, they
was also self reliant. McCandless, Emerson, and Thoreau were all people who believed strongly
in self reliance. One belief all three writers had is self reliance. In the nonfiction book Into the Wild
by Jon Krakauer, the author talks about how McCandless was very independent

Ageism In The Workplace
Imagine being an older aged person going into an interview. You go through the entire interview
and kill it, nothing went wrong, and the interviewer even says the job is basically yours. When
leaving the interview, a younger kid walks in. The following day, you find out that you were
declined, and that the other applicant that walked in after got the job. Later, you find out that you
and that younger kid had the same qualifications. This is what happens when people experience age
discrimination. People don t understand how ageismcan go from harming one person, all the way
to an entire business. Discriminating against age is still happening all around and many people
don t know it s happening. More action needs to be taken in order to really... Show more content on

When people first consider this reason, it makes sense at first. Older youngers are more fragile
and can t do as much physically and technologically like young people can. Andrew Mayfair
says, Your business may lose the potential to mold and keep a valuable employee for years to
come (Mayfair). Andrew Mayfair points out in his article, The Consequences of Age
Discrimination at Work , how businesses believe that getting rid of older employees who can t
do as much as younger employees is helping the company. Mayfair then explains how older
employees, with their extensive knowledge, are the molds for the younger employees. Instead of
letting a younger employee slowly gain a vast amount of knowledge, the older employees already
possess this and can pass it down to the new and inexperienced employees. Businesses who will
discriminate against people of older age have the misconception that they are helping their business
by getting rid of older employees. Little do they realize, these discriminatory practices are causing
the adolescent employees to be substantially held back due to their little knowledge of the

William G. Morgan s Sports
Last Friday night there was a volleyball game at the University of Calgary. The teams that played
were the University of Calgary Dinos against the Trinity Western Spartans and the game took place
at the Jack Simpson gymnasium. Both teams were unbelievably skilled while playing against each
other. Volleyball is an interesting sport that surprisingly has a history. William G. Morgan created
the sport in 1895. He was an instructor for the YWCA which stands for Young Men s Christians
Associations. Morgan created volleyballfor people who preferred a sport that had less physical
contact than basketball. Morgan was able to take aspects from various sports such as basketball,
baseball, tennis and handball and create a new fun sport that everyone enjoyed.

  • 2. Is Bilingualism Harmful The term bilingualism refers to the ability of knowing and delivering more than one language. Throughout the years society has evolved and developed in such a way that the majority of the world is now multilingual. Once a up on a time bilingualism was considered harmful to one s development and IQ. This happened at the beginning of the century, haw ever since then we have conducted numerous researches studies that proves this wrong. Today bilingualism is often seen as a brain sharpening benefit, a condition that can protect and preserve cognitive function well into old age. Due to the mixture of culture people are now exposed to a variety of languages from which they benefit in different ways. Not only that they learn from each other the languagebut they adapt to a variety of traditions and cultures. For example as I visited London last summer I have accumulated a wide range of knowledge to do with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Usually people think in their own language first, before actually translating it in another language. For instance one of my cousins who actually lives in London and is obviously a fluent English speaker has found it very difficult at first to stop herself from thinking in her own language which is Romanian and sometimes even mixing the two up. Another example would be that one of my classmates had to do a presentation and she accidently said I have emotions which actually is incorrect in English. She basically thought in Romanian and purely translated it in English I am nervous . In reference to the text Bilingual lives, Bilingual experience which says : The terms of the second language don t match those of the first language, and they may also not match the speaker s emotions shaped or colored by the first language .It can be really difficult sometimes to clearly express what we want in order to make the other to understand ... • 3. The Spinal Cord Injury ( Sci ) Introduction Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) can result in loss or permanent damage of motor, sensory or autonomic function, generally caused by physical trauma to the spinal cord. In humans the most common type of SCI is hemisection or contusion (Nandoe Tewarie et al. 2009). This incomplete injury, leads to swelling or compression of the spinal cord due to bone displacement, resulting in partial loss of function and/or sensation. Complete severing of the spinal cord fibres can occur, although less often, and results in impairment of all function and sensation below the trauma site (Sobani et al. 2010). Due to the complicated physiology of the spinal cord and central nervous system, and their diminished regenerative properties, currently, there have been no effective forms of treatment of SCI. SCI occurs in two stages. Russia s recent recession was caused by a combination of falling oil prices, international sanctions, and structural limitations. The Russian economy is heavily reliant on its natural resource deposits, and in particular, it is reliant on oil. A significant portion of the oil and energy sector is nationalized, and petroleum (crude, refined, and gas) accounts for 54% of Russia s exports. Russia s heavy reliance on oil makes it vulnerable to terms of trade shocks, and thus, when oil prices plunged 77% from June 2014 to January 2016, Russia entered a recession. Falling oil prices were further compounded by the imposition of economic sanctions. Beginning in 2014, the United States and its European allies imposed sanctions against Russia for its aggressive activity in Ukraine and subsequent annexation of Crimea. These sanctions, among other things, limit the financing of six of Russia s largest banks and four energy companies, cut into Russia s ability to produce oil, and discouraged exports to Russia. In part because of these sanctions and in part because of its entrenched Soviet structures and institutions, Russia s economy remains relatively closed; its current account balance amounts to a positive 3.5% of its GDP. The double shock of falling oil prices and international sanctions spurred Russia s 2014 recession, but the Russian economy is expected to recover as oil prices ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first concept of how Shakespeare s time is much different than our own, is how we perceive the entire idea and thought of how a theater should be treated and how it works. But Jack wants to lead, too, and one by one, he lures the boys from reason and humanity to savagery and a survival and inhuman state; they become the hunters. Style is very difficult to determine in a novel, but what is more difficult is to find the thin and blurred line between style and voice. Theoretically, while style is the way by which an author chooses words, makes decisions on sentence structures; whether long or short, and also paragraph structure, voice is the external tincture of attitude and demeanour every reader would be able to link to a particular author while reading any of the author s works. Authors have over the ages, managed to infuse their external life into their works, not through the contents, but through the style they choose to bring into bare in the writing. What separates each of these characters conflicts with patience is their individualized struggle with the challenge of patience itself, and their ability or inability to successfully contain the impulse of losing control which is represented numerous times in the play. Alexander Hamilton is portrayed as a young man hungry for the chance to leave his mark on history. At birth, Hamilton was subject to challenges due to his parents inability to care for him. The play begins, How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a scotsman...impoverished, in squalor grow up to be a hero and a scholar ( Alexander Hamilton 0:08)? Chan and Maubourgne identified that the first step to create the blue ocean strategy is to reestablish the market limit to breach competition so that the blue ocean becomes apparent using the six path framework. The challenge a company faces in order to succeed is spotting the opportunities. The six steps are: 1.Look for possible alternatives with exceptional value to choose from rather than a mere substitute; 2.Examine the industry where the company is in to determine which factors dictates customers to move from one group to another to stand out in the strategic group the company is in; 3.Question the current market and focus on the previously neglected segment of the market, be it the purchaser, the user or the buyer; 4.Conceive complementary products and services to create a value curve; 5.Shift buyer s appeal from emotional to functional or functional to emotional; and 6.Identify decisive, irreversible trends that have clear trajectory and implement change to unlock new opportunities. The solid people of what we soon learn is Heaven promise that walking upon the grass towards the mountains will hurt less at every step. It s understood that the mountains represent the city of Heaven, or an eternal life with God. These reactions compete with elimination reactions in which a group is eliminated and a ПЂ (pi) bond is formed. Substitution reactions occur when a nucleophile is added to an electrophile/substrate. Elimination reactions occur when a base is added to an electrophile /substrate. The electrophile must contain a leaving group to be considered a substrate. Alkyl Halides Alkyl Halides are the common substrate used in substitution and elimination reactions. Alkyl Halides are halogen containing alkane compounds. These compounds are commonly used as the electrophile in substitution reactions. Naming Alkyl Halides is similar to naming alkanes. Halogen substituents are named just like alkane substituents, for example if there is a chlorine attached to an ethane the chlorine substituent will be named using the word chloro . The other halogens are named using the words flouro , bromo , and iodo respectively. These possible substituents are listed alphabetically along with the alkane substituents. When dealing with alkyl halides it is important to note that the carbons attached to the halogens and the carbons attached to those carbons are involved in the reaction process, therefore we designate these carbons with special symbols to differentiate them from the rest of the molecule.
