Reformation Dbq
B2 September 25, 2011 Reformation DBQ During the Protestant Reformation in Germany around the
16th century chaos ensued. This was lead by Martin Luther, who brought the churches lie out in the
open for all to see. He told the people of the corruption within the Vatican, and how they shouldn t
have to pay indulgences. Secularism spread throughout the lands, people began turning on the church.
This all went on while the Renaissance was still affecting the European nations. The Roman church
fell into a great deal of corruption, under Pope Leo X who began spending more money than the
church had in its treasury. The German people had grievances, brought before the diet, they felt that
the church was heartless using people s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In conclusion many wars were fought over the ideas of the Reformation thinkers like Martin Luther,
and John Calvin. In the end politics and national convictions outweighed the religious convictions in
Europe, allowing church and state to exist together. You might say that Martin Luther was able to air
the churches dirty secrets for all to see. Overall, the Reformation opened the doors for new
opportunities of thought and prepared Europe for the changes soon to

Forced Labor And Human Trafficking
Forced labor and human trafficking are some of the forms of slavery in the modern day. Although the
world has made several strides in ending human trafficking, several factors have played a big role in
ensuring that trafficking is still carried on. The ILO describes forced labor as the work and services
offered by a person unwillingly; on the other hand human trafficking is the transport and recruitment
of people through coercion with the aim of exploiting them. The continual practice of human
trafficking is attributed to certain factors such as poverty and greed. According to ILO, the profits
generated from forced labor amount to 150 billion dollars. These profits are made from the private
sector especially from illegal businesses such as sexual exploitation, domestic work and other
economic exploitations (Johnson 4). Poverty is also another factor that has caused the human
trafficking business thrive, human trafficking often originate from developing countries such as those
in Asia, Africa, Latin America. Their destination, on the other hand, is always to the developed
countries in Europe, America, and parts of western Africa.
Although human trafficking and forced labor are some of the global challenges, poverty has played a
big role in increasing the vice. The desire by the victims to move to areas where they can improve the
living standards of their families has played a big role in increased rates of human trafficking. Most
traffickers target these victims by promising

Analysis of Pricing and Model Strategies at Cambridge...
Analysis of Pricing and Model Strategies at Cambridge Software Introduction The purpose of this
analysis is to evaluate if Cambridge Software Corporation should offer only one version of it Modeler
software application, and if so, which version at which specific price. A second objective of this
analysis is to define how many potentially different versions of the Model that CSC should offer, and
at which prices. This analysis is heavily based on the concepts of pricing elasticity and the various
approaches for measuring the value of software in both enterprises and educational institutions
(Cusumano, 2007). Analysis of Cambridge Software Modeler Optimal Version and Price Given the
highly unique and differentiated aspect of the Modeler application, its price needs to be based more on
the value delivered, not just on the costs in time and labor to produce. The arguments and assumptions
made by the members of the Cambridge team in the case for choosing a penetration pricing strategy
are erroneous. As research of value based pricing strategies indicates, the greater the value delivered
by a given application or element of intellectual property, the higher the level of value and
corresponding price that can be attained (Bala, Carr, 2009). This first foundational element of pricing
needs to guide Cambridge s decision of which application to offer and at what price. Second,
enterprise software in highly specific niches or areas of the market trend to be more inelastic to

Ear Lab Report
Kristen Rodriguez
Speech 1
October 4, 2015 Outline
Introduction: *demonstrate a sound*
Describe the structure of the ear. The Pinna is a ridged cartilage flap covered by skin. The Meatus is
made up of skin and bone. The Tympanic Membrane, is a concave shaped layer of membrane with the
visual of a flattened cone (AAC). The hammer doesn t really live up to its name, it looks more like a
golf club. The Anvil resembles a snag tooth while the stirrup mirrors its name. The Cochlea is a
membrane covered spiral shaped tube. The Auditory nerve is made up of several tubes ending in
terminals.
How sound makes its way through the parts of the ear. Sound travels through the outer ear hitting the
Pinna, traveling through the Outer Ear Canal. Vibration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Outer Ear: The Pinna gathers sound and sends it down the ear canal. The twists and folds of the pinna
enhance high frequency (pitched) sounds and also help us to determine the direction of the sound
source (AAC). Ear wax is developed by two thirds of the ear s external canal, the remaining is bone.
The Meatus or ear canal is a 2 3 cm of cartilage that strengthens the sound coming in. Middle Ear: The
Tympanic Membrane is hit by sound waves causing the eardrum to vibrate as such then transferring
that energy into mechanical energy. Out of the eardrum and onto three bones, Malleus which is
connected to the drum passing sounds on to the Incus that sits on top of the hammer and collects
vibrations. Ending with the Stapes which is responsible for compression of the waves so they can
travel through the inner ear. The Cochlea is home to many nerve cells that are capable of damaging
and are impossible to grow back. The Cochlea s frequency selectivity refers to the ability of the
auditory system to identify tonal components in complex sound. It largely depends on the filtering
ability of the cochlea and its tuning properties are determine by the amplification mechanisms of the
cochlear outer hair cells (BioMedical Engineering). The Auditory Nerve sends all electrical impulses
to the brain, starting the process of

What Impact Did The Roman Slaves Have On The Economy
Slaves and the Economy Rome s economy was Ancient Rome was an agrarian and slave based
(UNRV., n.d.) meaning that the bulk of the economy was built up of agriculture and slaves. Romans
relied on slaves for household chores, to work in the mines, to take care of livestock, work in the
fields, and for entertainment purposes (Cartwright, M., 2013, November 1). Slaves made up the
majority of the workforce and were one third of the population (Kamm, A., n.d). Agricultural Slavery.
Slavery had its greatest impact on the Roman economy in the agricultural sector (UNRV., n.d.). Slave
labour was cheaper and easily replaceable. They could work long hours with very little food or water.
If a slave were to die, the owner could buy a new one and not have to worry about negative
repercussions. Slaves were cheap, replaceable, and readily available. ... Show more content on

Slavery itself had an impact on the Roman economy. A slave could go for 500 denarii for a male and
up to 6,000 denarii for a female (UNRV., n.d.). Slave traders could be found in most major
marketplaces, and slave markets were not uncommon. These slave markets could process a large
number of slaves a day. The slave market at Delos was said to process 10,000 slaves in one day
(Kamm, A., n.d). Slavery brought in a considerable amount of income and was a legal way of
increasing one s wealth. Slaves Impact on the Roman

The Rebirth Of Literature By Virginia Woolf
The Rebirth of Literature Beautiful, complex, incisive.... One of the most moving, revolutionary
artworks of the twentieth century (Michael Cunningham) Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf is not
only a book that entertains millions, like Stephanie Meyer s Twilight, J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter and
the Philosopher s Stone, or E. L. James s Fifty Shades of Grey, but it is a work of literature that
revolutionized the art of writing, which continues to influence people s philosophies, beliefs, and
views on life even roughly after a century since its publication. In fact, music, fashion, food, films,
books, clothes, and paintings are a few aspects of art all impacted immensely by Mrs. Dalloway, a

In other words, the meadow denotes Septimus s joy prior to the war and the beautiful and honorable
decision he took to fight for his country, meanwhile the dull sky exemplifies his unstable and muddled
mind after enduring the traumatic events of combat. Not to mention, the large, red spot symbolizes the
blazing world he now views, and the long paint streaks represent the planes that Septimus observed
soar and fill the sky during the war. All in all, Champagne displays how a man who should feel
honored for being so brave for fighting for his country, can also be engulfed with sorrow at the same
time. Disturbia, a pop song sung by Rhianna, connects the theme of PTSD in the novel with
contemporary art and postmodern society. For example, the lyrics What s wrong with me? Why do I
feel like this? I m going crazy now... demonstrate the feeling and thoughts of confusion and stress a
person with PTSD undergoes, exactly like the symptoms Septimus is displaying daily: Suffering
forever...he moaned, putting from him with a wave of his hand that external suffering, that external
loneliness (25). Additionally, the lyrics, It s a thief in the night. To come and grab you. It can creep up

Cell Membrane Essay
The normal cell membrane and the structure commonly called a basement membrane differ because:
0.5 points were deducted
Incorrect:
Choice A is correct because the basement membrane is where a cell attaches to the lining , so the
basement membrane will always be outside the normal cell membrane as it is not a part of the actual
enterocyte or keratinocyte cell, just where it attaches to.
7. Which of the following is an example or description of negative feedback? 0.5 points were deducted
Incorrect:
Choice B is correct because the working muscle gets hot and the blood that is being pumped into the
muscles is cooler than the muscles themselves, so blood flow into the working skeletal muscle will
cool the muscle back down.

1.5 points were deducted
Correct:
Choice B is incorrect because too much carbohydrates lead to the cause of coliform bacteria to die, not
acidophilic bacteria. Acidophilic bacteria means acid loving bacteria, so the heightened ph would not
kill them, it would make more of them grow. If more of them grow, the LPS that causes inflammation
is not circulating, because they would only circulate if the bacteria dies.
Incorrect:
Choice C is correct because acidosis degrades tight junctions between enterocytes in the colon and the
cecum, which in turn lets more endotoxins from the bacteria into the blood that causes the
inflammation in laminitis.
Choice D is correct because the acidosis kills coliform bacteria, releasing LPS into the system and the
LPS causes the inflammation that in turn reduces blood flow and kills the tissues that cause laminitis.
29. Insulin resistance could increase the likelihood of laminitis because: 1.5 points were deducted
Incorrect:
Choice A is correct because the stress of too much conversion of glucose into triglycerides can cause
insulin resistance. If there are more triglycerides, there is more fat storage within an adipocyte,
causing the animal to gain weight. With more weight, there is more pressure on the structure of the

Analysis Of The Movie Crash
CRASH! This was the last sound Tim Horton heard before he crashed into the woods. His drunk body
made the violent rolling of the car feel like nothing. His mind still back at the bar, crying for a better
life. He wanted this attempt to be painless and quick, but was depressed to see his immaculated body
upside down in his turnovered car. The drunk had no more tears to shed, he had no screams to let out;
all he could do was hit his head against the seat. He wanted something to break ,but his mind made
him sleep. After he woke up he started to look at his surroundings. He was at awe at the serenity of the
forest at night and the fauna that are the denizens. He took off the seatbelt which made him fall into

Tim sat down with great haste, wishing for the pain to go away. The old man eventually followed.

Thesis On Sin And Righteousness
Sin and righteousness , have both come to be terms that provoke controversy. No one wants to be
called a sinner . Sin implies judgment and condemnation. And if a person evaluates righteousness
according to standards of behavior, he or she will fail to live up to his own standard. And so today
these two words are shunned.
The concepts of sin and death are closely linked in scripture. Commonly we consider sin to be
something which breaks God s rules. This is understandable given the six hundred thirteen laws of the
Old Testament. There is a problem with this way of thinking; it leads to legalism and a standard that
can never be attained.
In Matthew 5:27 and 28 Jesus indicated that a person who lusts after a woman has done what? ...

The experience of trust and unity continues to be something people long for. As we strive for meaning,
these relationships may be enjoyed and experienced easily until there is violation. Once violation is
experienced in a relationship, the unity God designed us for must be nurtured, re established and
grown by an attitude of grace.
Paul further explains in chapter 7, that by receiving Jesus gift of righteousness, the laws that define
our trespasses have been done away with. Life will reign in our experience as a result of His gift and
grace filled response in our lives. Romans 7:6 states, we have been released from the Law and may
live in newness of the Spirit , which will be demonstrated and experienced by relationships of unity as
a result of the attitude of grace, which persists in spite of violation.
When a person has accepted Jesus righteousness on his behalf, God in turn does not consider the
person s actions when judging sin; rather God discerns the condition of his heart. By this experience
of God s grace, trust in relationships may be reestablished: firstly in ones relationship with God. Yet,
the experience paves the way, and human relationships also may also be nurtured and grown, when
God s graceful response is applied in our relationships with

Zoos Are A Better For Animals
Zoos date back to centuries ago. In the beginning, they were used to scientifically study the habits and
behaviors of animals. Since then, zoos have changed. Zoos are now not only used for education, but
for modern entertainment. Children love going to the zoo but as people are starting to get older, they
are seeing going to the zoo in different perspectives. There a lots of questions pertaining to whether or
not Zoos doing any good for animals. People may also argue and say that zoos are good for the
animals that can t survive in the wild on their own. Are zoos benefiting the animals or are they holding
them as prisoners? One of the most reputable organizations, PETA, goes to say that zoos are pitiful
prisons . PETA discusses multiple subjects that really go into depth to help open the eyes of what
really goes into play with the animals in the zoo. Firstly, zoos are cutting back on cost to for the
people and business rather than the animals. Instead of using money to provide a naturalistic home for
the animals, money is spent on landscaping, refreshment stands, and gift shops. PETA goes to explain
that the animals are the ones paying the price, and even sometimes humans. For example, Tatiana, a
Siberian tiger, escaped her substandard enclosure at the San Francisco Zoo in 2007 and was shot to
death after she killed one person and injured two others; she had mauled one of the zookeepers a year
earlier. (Yollin, Patricia) PETA s points go to show that zoos could have some

How Does Edmund Kemper Contribute To The Witch Archetype
I link Edmund Kemper to the to the witch archetype because the the film Carrie, Ed had a very
controlling yet protective mother. A trait of the witch is a figure of resentment and ridicule which I
connect to both Carrie s mother and Ed s. In the movie her mother resented Carrie because she sees
her as a punishment from one of her greatest sins. With Edmund, he witnessed all the pain that she
experienced within her life from a failed marriage with his father and felt as if he was a constant
reminder of that. Naturally a trait from the witch is supernatural powers, even though Edmund
Kemper doesn t have supernatural powers he does carry non supernatural powers. By having the

The Effects Of Electric Cars On The Environment
The world revolves around innovation and working for a better future. Without experimentation and
new discoveries, the world would lack some of the most brilliant inventions that people take for
granted everyday. With that being said, there is also some inventions that some say have contributed to
the eventual destruction of the world. Petroleum powered vehicles are one of the many inventions that
have become a huge part of everyone s lives and has opened up a network of ways to travel and
communicate with others from all over the country. On the other hand, petroleum powered cars have
posed a huge threat over the years and has emerged as one of the top contributors to global warming.
Electric cars have emerged as a way to solve the problem. Although, there are negative effects on the
environment caused by all cars, the electric car is working to reduce the negative effects through
alternative power sources and by reducing the burning of fossil fuels to power them. The Nissan Leaf
a popular model of electric car and there have been many ads to promote the car. One ad that stood out
was an ad that started out with a very familiar site. It was ice melting and polar ice caps breaking apart
and plummeting into the frigid ocean. Most people would know immediately that it was an ad that
involved global warming because of how much media coverage that topic has had and that it is a
rising concern for every living creature. The next image the viewer sees in the commercial is a

In order to understand the ways in which I plan to use the new ideas and strategies I have gained in the
Digital Student course, you must first understand my teaching placements. Each school day I teach in
two vastly different settings. In the morning I teach at an urban high school. We have roughly twelve
hundred and fifty students. At my high school, we face all of the challenges you find in an urban
setting. Sixty one percent of our students are economically challenged. Many of my students work in
the evening to help out at home or to have spending money. Attendance is a concern. Attending school
regularly is an issue with many of my students. We also have a large population of special needs
students. Twenty two percent of our students have disabilities. The subject I teach at the high school is
junior/senior level Earth and Space Science. I teach three sections and have a total of sixty four
students in my classes. My course fulfills the third year of the science graduation requirement for
many of my students. Accessing technology in my school can be challenging. We do not have one to
one computer access for our students. We have one computer lab, one library computer lab and
Chromecarts. The Chromecarts are frequently out of circulation because of their use in testing and in
our credit recovery classes. This year I have been experimenting with the flipped classroom model.

Impact Of European Colonization On Native Americans
The European Colonization of the Americas initiated in 1492 when Spanish explorer and navigator,
Christopher Columbus sailed the sea to the New World. Their main motivation was to probe new trade
routes, spread Catholicism and earn recognition and stardom for discoveries made similar to the
findings that came from the conquest of the Aztecs and Incas. The English then established permanent
settlement in the New World and interacted with the indigenous people that were already living there.
This was found to have a detrimental effect on the Native Americans because Europeans brought
dangerous diseases such as smallpox to the Americas. Also, natives were imperialized, forced to give
up their vibrant culture and take up the lifestyle of the Spaniards.
Primarily, one of the impacts that came about from the European colonization on Native Americans
was the proliferation of disease. In Europe, people commonly lived in filth and bacteria because they
didn t pay much attention to the importance of proper hygiene. However, in the Americas, people were
isolated from the rest of the world and weren t surrounded by the rubbish that Europeans had
incorporated in their livelihood. Also, because the Native Americans were somewhat advanced in
medical technology, they didn t have to worry too much about people dying from treacherous diseases.
It states, By contrast, the people of the Americas had spent thousand of years in biological isolation.

Quantitative, Qualitative And Quantitative Methodologies
Introduction
Along with qualitative and quantitative methodologies in research, the trend of combining both
qualitative and quantitative methodologies is widely used and increasingly articulated, attached to
research practice and recognized as the third major research approach or research paradigm (Johnson,
Onwuegbuzie Turner, 2007).
As cited by Anaf and Sheppard (2007), Key in 1997 suggested the theory and meaning, qualitative and
quantitative methodologies are distinct. A qualitative methodology s focus of research is in its nature
and essence. The goal of investigation of qualitative methodology is understanding, description and
discovery. It usually involves small, non random, and theoretical population. Data collection takes into
account researcher as the primary instrument, and sometimes involve interviews and observations. The
mode analysis of qualitative method is inductive which leads to findings that are comprehensive and
holistic.
It was also claimed that a quantitative method s focus of research usually involves how many or the
quantity. The goal of investigation of a quantitative method is usually about prediction, control and
confirmation. It usually involves large, random and representative sample. Data collection that are
usually used are inanimate instruments, surveys and questionnaires. The mode of analysis is usually
deductive and lead to a precise and reductionist way of findings as cited by Anaf and Sheppard (2007).
As described above, if by features

Closed Loop Essay
Abstract Closed loop feedback control approaches allow precise, real time control of neural activity
pattern to lock spiking activity to specific target spiking rate within neural network. This approaches
enable investigators to tune the internal brain state into a desired state, induce or disrupt the related
frequency of neural network in order to achieve a specific functionality. Here we implement a
continuous, precise closed loop feed back control to lock the firing rate at specific targeted spiking
activities in moto cortex of isoflurane anesthetized rats and in a computational network level model.
We found that controllability of neural activity strikingly varies as neural state changes, furthermore
we found it trade off between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why does a quiescent animal evoke a larger response and adaptation comparing to an active and
awake animal? There is a hypothesis that when cortex maintains the synchronized state in an
anesthetized and quiescent awake animal, synapses are often in resting state so they are electrically
less active. Therefore, they can save energy to perform other functions [26, 27]. Also, when the cortex
evokes a large response to the first stimulus in a high repetitive stimulus within synchronization, it
leaves less energy for response to other stimuli in the train therefore the response would suppress
stronger in synchronized than the desynchronized state. Despite apparent complex state dependency of
cortical response, investigators developed a simple excitable model to predict subsequent sensory
response using background ongoing activity prior to the presentation of stimuli, they estimated the

The Alternate Ending Of The Lord Of The Flies
Lord of the Flies has many important themes and with an alternate ending, there are many new
concepts for a theme introduced. Lord of the Flies has the theme of civilization versus savagery, which
can be seen through Jack and Ralph. There are many similarities between the alternate ending and the
original ending, but there are also many differences that can be noted. Lord of the Flies is a complex
novel with a complex ending that can be analyzed to find the deeper meaning. The original ending to
Lord of the Flies had Ralph running from the hunters, just to eventually find himself on the beach with
a naval officer waiting to take the boys back to civilization. He had run from the hunters for fear of the
stick sharpened on both ends as was stated by Samneric on page 273. The stick was going to be used
for Ralph s severed head like it was for the Lord of the Flies. Ralph had wanted to stay as one group
and pushed for civilization and rescue. Ralph clung to civilization throughout the entire book and even
at the end without the conch or Piggy, he remained civilized and avoided becoming savage like Jack
and the hunters. The alternate ending was not the same outcome for Ralph. Ralph had descended to
savagery and lost sight of civilization and rescue. In the book he had moments where he forgot about
wanting to be rescued, like on page 245; He paused lamely as the curtain flickered in his brain. This
shows he had already started to lose sight of civilization but Piggy was

A Visual Communication Analogy, An Advantageous And...
Working
1. A VISUAL COMMUNICATION ANALOGY
An advantageous and instinctive way to deal with conceptualizing the multifaceted visual quality
appraisal issue is to make a similarity with the traditional correspondence issue. We will make broad
utilization of Fig. 1, which delineates various vital ideas, starting with the lower some portion of the
figure, which portrays the components and stream of a transmitter channel beneficiary correspondence
framework. As the inscription clarifies, in this similarity, the transmitter is the universe of noticeable
brilliant vitality and of article surfaces that communicate in a physically and measurably legal way,

A convenient and intuitive approach to conceptualizing the multifaceted visual quality assessment
problem is to make an analogy with the classical communication problem. We will make extensive use
of Fig. 1, which depicts a number of important concepts, beginning with the lower part of the figure,
which depicts the elements and flow of a transmitter channel receiver communication system. As the
caption explains, in this analogy, the transmitter is the world of visible radiant energy and of object
surfaces that interact in a physically and statistically lawful manner, projecting through lenses to
images that are incident on a sensor. Because of the coherent nature of matter and the physical
properties of light, natural images that are formed by an optical process obey laws that can be
statistically expressed. Section III elaborates on this, but for now the term natural image or natural
video may be construed to mean an optical signal sensed from visible light that has been captured by
an ordinary good quality camera equipped with a low distortion lens under reasonably good
conditions. This means that the image is not distorted by noticeable aliasing from poor resolution, over
or under exposure from poor lighting, or other impairments arising from poor technique. Further,
naturalness implies that the signal was not synthetically created by computer graphics techniques, nor

Golden Pheasant Research Paper
When we were picked by our birds for this project I was completely baffled on which one I should
pick. I saw birds that I vaguely knew about like the emperor penguin and the emu. I also saw birds
that I had no clue what they were. The golden pheasant stuck out though I knew what a pheasant was,
but I was curious to know what a golden pheasant was. I picked the golden pheasant as my project
topic and set to work. I learned 3 basic things about the golden pheasant. They are the basic anatomy
of the bird, the habitat, and what we can do to save the species. Now let s get to the information. The
golden pheasant is known for their brightly colored feathers that are on males. According to my
interpretation of google images, they have a orange brown

Analysis Of The Episode Chirp
Looking back at the episode, it seemed clear to me that the three families that were presented in the
Modern Family episode Chirp, had dilemmas. Each family had to face their own conflicts, which in
different ways gets resolved in the end. These family problems in this episode includes couples not
listening to each other, son not getting attention, and even the husband who struggles to show his
manly side. Although the episode talks about all three families, they mainly had their own story line.
These conflicts start with one member of the family; in this episode it is the man. In the beginning of
the episode, the Dunphy Family had trouble with the smoke detectors. Phil Dunphy, who is the man of
the family, struggles to tackle which detector is making the low battery sound. With little success, he
feels like he isn t capable of even a simple task that s generally completed by men. He feels like he is
losing his masculinity every time the smoke detectors chirp, which is literally driving him nuts. Later,
the gay couple, Mitchell and Cameron lightly argue whether to take their adopted daughter to act in a
commercial. Mitchell, which happens to make the income to provide for the family, denies Cameron s
request. Cameron complains that he makes all the decisions because he makes the income, and gets
more say for the family. To prove that he is not going to let that stop him, he takes their daughter to
act, despite what Mitchell had against it. Lastly the

Introduction
In this assignment I am going to explain the effects of changes in the economic environment for
Nissan UK. I am then going to analyse the impact that government policies have on Nissan UK. I am
then going to evaluate the impact of changes in the economic environment to Nissan UK.
The effect of changes in the economic environment has an effect on Nissan UK. This has been shown
in the way the economy has been changing recently. The changes in the economic environment are

Nissan UK is able to use inflation in the prices of their goods, this is because they are then able to
make sure that they are taking advantage of this type of opportunity their organisation, this is going to
allow their company to make a profit at the time of a recession.
From the economic review for January 2012 has a graph that shows the output of the three major
economic sectors: manufacturing, construction and services. The graph shows the recession in 2008 to
2011 and how it recovers.
The graph shows that the manufacturing was a lot higher more higher in Q1 in 2008 compared to the
start of 2009. This shows that businesses were not manufacturing a lot of products and the way in
which the manufacturing decreased within a year. This also reflects the manufacturing that Nissan UK
did from 2008 to 2009 by making it go low because there wasn t a huge demand for products. This
also shows that the recession had just begun and was getting a lot worse in 2009. This must have had
an impact on Nissan by making their employees lose their jobs because there was less labour activity.
In Q3 of 2009, the graph shows that there was progress being made in the economy by showing
recovery. The graph shows this in the way there is a progress and this would have also impacted on

critical motivator to the local residents.
On the other hand, Mainland and overseas visitors were more interested in trying new foods than local
visitors. They may think that visiting Hong Kong Disneyland as an opportunity to try Hong Kong

The Controversy Between Science And Religion
Summer for the Gods concentrates on the Dayton, Tennessee Scopes trial, or Monkey Trial, of 1925.
The trial was over a Tennessee law that banned teaching evolution in public schools. The American
Civil Liberties Union protested the law with teacher, John Scopes, who agreed to help. The trial of the
century brought together two famous political enemies, William Jennings Bryan, who led the anti
evolution crusade, and Clarence Darrow, who was known as the best criminal defense lawyer and
evolution supporter. The author presents the history of controversy that led to the trial. Fossil
discoveries, the rise of religious fundamentalism, and increased attendance in public high schools
influenced the anti evolution movement due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Understanding the book requires a semi vast knowledge of vocabulary and laws, and is clearly
intended for an audience that has studied the subject of Christianity versus Evolution before.
Larson starts out by describing the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin and why he thinks it is such a
great piece of scientific literature, and describes how it greatly affected the Christian community
because a large part of it went against the Bible. He then explains the ideas behind evolution and
natural selection. Larson stated that evolution was the theory that current living species evolved from
preexisting species (Larson 14). Next, he sets the background for the rest of his book by giving details
of how the situation surrounding evolution arose, and how the two lawyers got involved in the case..
He sets the background for the court case by stating that the teaching of evolution was banned in the
schools of Dayton, Tennessee and that John Scopes was being prosecuted for teaching it to the class he
was substituting.
Following his explanation of the basis on the case, he describes the differences between
fundamentalism and modernism. He describes how one of the main causes of the pressure between
them is an aftermath of World War I. Fundamentalism is following religion as stringently as possible,
while modernism is the exact opposite of it. Furthermore,

Corporations That Influence Public Art Museum
Corporations and Their Influence in Support for Public Art Museums
Statement of Intent Historically, museums have relied on four sources of financial support: individual
contributions, corporate and foundation support, earned revenues, and government grants. This paper
focuses on present day corporate support for art and the museums that collect and display that art. It
urges museums to reassess their assumptions about corporations and suggests ways that museums can
develop new approaches to align their solicitation of support with changing corporate objectives.
Introduction As an inquiry into art and corporate culture, this capstone investigates the importance and
evolution of corporate support for the arts. A brief history of art and ... Show more content on

Thus arts organizations must act to align their needs with the evolving requirements of corporate
benefactors if lasting partnerships are to be formed. Museums must position their brand to
corporations as places of value, enhancement and richness to local communities. Corporations need to
reevaluate museums as a pillar for support on par with any other social cause, with value for society at
large. With better understanding of the overlap of objectives both corporations and arts organizations
share, public museums can offer creative, outside the box thinking in seeking corporate support.
Museum development professionals can better understand the value to not only maintain existing
resources, but ways to seek new partners through innovative corporate engagement by aligning
museum programming and values with the increasingly social and environmental causes corporations
have come to identify. By observing trends in federal and corporate funding for the arts and funding
shifts, this capstone will explore why corporations who currently support public art do so through
funding and art collections, and their increasing needs for employee engagement. Understanding the
relationship history corporate America and art share, and the wide reaches art has made in
contemporary society, can offer museum advancement teams new approaches for funding, and to aid

Molecule 2-Formylphenyl Configuration
In our molecule 2 formylphenyl, tosyl group and 4 methylbenzene fluorophenyl prop 2 enoate are
attached at N1 atom. The atoms around the sulfonamide S1 atom in the MFMSF are arranged in a
slightly distorted tetrahedral arrangement configuration. The largest deviation is in the angle O3 S1
O2 of 119.60(1) o, but it conforms to the non tetrahedral arrangement commonly observed in
sulfonamides [24, 25]. The bond angles N1 S1 C8 of 107.8(1)o is correspondingly smaller than the
tetrahedral values of 109o [26]. The significant difference in length of the C24 O5 = 1.329(2) Å and

How Does Antonio Canova Portray The Human Figure
Throughout the course of history artists sought to depict the human figure in many different artistic
styles that were prominent in their own time period. For example, during the Neoclassical Period art
was characterized by clarity of form, sober colors, shallow spaces, strong horizontal and vertical lines,
and Classical subject matter (Khanacademy.org). One such work that depicts these prime neoclassical
features was Antonio Canova s Perseus with the head of Medusa. This work was a Also, another

  • 2. Reformation Dbq B2 September 25, 2011 Reformation DBQ During the Protestant Reformation in Germany around the 16th century chaos ensued. This was lead by Martin Luther, who brought the churches lie out in the open for all to see. He told the people of the corruption within the Vatican, and how they shouldn t have to pay indulgences. Secularism spread throughout the lands, people began turning on the church. This all went on while the Renaissance was still affecting the European nations. The Roman church fell into a great deal of corruption, under Pope Leo X who began spending more money than the church had in its treasury. The German people had grievances, brought before the diet, they felt that the church was heartless using people s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the end politics and national convictions outweighed the religious convictions in Europe, allowing church and state to exist together. • 3. Forced Labor And Human Trafficking Forced labor and human trafficking are some of the forms of slavery in the modern day. Although the world has made several strides in ending human trafficking, several factors have played a big role in ensuring that trafficking is still carried on. The ILO describes forced labor as the work and services offered by a person unwillingly; on the other hand human trafficking is the transport and recruitment of people through coercion with the aim of exploiting them. The continual practice of human trafficking is attributed to certain factors such as poverty and greed. According to ILO, the profits generated from forced labor amount to 150 billion dollars. These profits are made from the private sector especially from illegal businesses such as sexual exploitation, domestic work and other economic exploitations (Johnson 4). Poverty is also another factor that has caused the human trafficking business thrive, human trafficking often originate from developing countries such as those in Asia, Africa, Latin America. Their destination, on the other hand, is always to the developed countries in Europe, America, and parts of western Africa. Although human trafficking and forced labor are some of the global challenges, poverty has played a big role in increasing the vice. The desire by the victims to move to areas where they can improve the living standards of their families has played a big role in increased rates of human trafficking. Most traffickers target these victims by promising ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis of Pricing and Model Strategies at Cambridge... Analysis of Pricing and Model Strategies at Cambridge Software Introduction The purpose of this analysis is to evaluate if Cambridge Software Corporation should offer only one version of it Modeler software application, and if so, which version at which specific price. A second objective of this analysis is to define how many potentially different versions of the Model that CSC should offer, and at which prices. This analysis is heavily based on the concepts of pricing elasticity and the various approaches for measuring the value of software in both enterprises and educational institutions (Cusumano, 2007). Analysis of Cambridge Software Modeler Optimal Version and Price Given the highly unique and differentiated aspect of the Modeler application, its price needs to be based more on the value delivered, not just on the costs in time and labor to produce. The arguments and assumptions made by the members of the Cambridge team in the case for choosing a penetration pricing strategy are erroneous. As research of value based pricing strategies indicates, the greater the value delivered by a given application or element of intellectual property, the higher the level of value and corresponding price that can be attained (Bala, Carr, 2009). This first foundational element of pricing needs to guide Cambridge s decision of which application to offer and at what price. Second, enterprise software in highly specific niches or areas of the market trend to be more inelastic to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Meatus is made up of skin and bone. The Tympanic Membrane, is a concave shaped layer of membrane with the visual of a flattened cone (AAC). The hammer doesn t really live up to its name, it looks more like a golf club. The Anvil resembles a snag tooth while the stirrup mirrors its name. The Cochlea is a membrane covered spiral shaped tube. The Auditory nerve is made up of several tubes ending in terminals. How sound makes its way through the parts of the ear. Outer Ear: The Pinna gathers sound and sends it down the ear canal. The twists and folds of the pinna enhance high frequency (pitched) sounds and also help us to determine the direction of the sound source (AAC). Ear wax is developed by two thirds of the ear s external canal, the remaining is bone. The Meatus or ear canal is a 2 3 cm of cartilage that strengthens the sound coming in. Middle Ear: The Tympanic Membrane is hit by sound waves causing the eardrum to vibrate as such then transferring that energy into mechanical energy. Out of the eardrum and onto three bones, Malleus which is connected to the drum passing sounds on to the Incus that sits on top of the hammer and collects vibrations. Ending with the Stapes which is responsible for compression of the waves so they can travel through the inner ear. The Cochlea is home to many nerve cells that are capable of damaging and are impossible to grow back. The Cochlea s frequency selectivity refers to the ability of the auditory system to identify tonal components in complex sound. It largely depends on the filtering ability of the cochlea and its tuning properties are determine by the amplification mechanisms of the cochlear outer hair cells (BioMedical Engineering). The Auditory Nerve sends all electrical impulses to the brain, starting the process of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Impact Did The Roman Slaves Have On The Economy Slaves and the Economy Rome s economy was Ancient Rome was an agrarian and slave based (UNRV., n.d.) meaning that the bulk of the economy was built up of agriculture and slaves. Romans relied on slaves for household chores, to work in the mines, to take care of livestock, work in the fields, and for entertainment purposes (Cartwright, M., 2013, November 1). Slaves made up the majority of the workforce and were one third of the population (Kamm, A., n.d). Agricultural Slavery. Slavery had its greatest impact on the Roman economy in the agricultural sector (UNRV., n.d.). Slave labour was cheaper and easily replaceable. Acidophilic bacteria means acid loving bacteria, so the heightened ph would not kill them, it would make more of them grow. If more of them grow, the LPS that causes inflammation is not circulating, because they would only circulate if the bacteria dies. Incorrect: Choice C is correct because acidosis degrades tight junctions between enterocytes in the colon and the cecum, which in turn lets more endotoxins from the bacteria into the blood that causes the inflammation in laminitis. Choice D is correct because the acidosis kills coliform bacteria, releasing LPS into the system and the LPS causes the inflammation that in turn reduces blood flow and kills the tissues that cause laminitis. 29. • 11. Thesis On Sin And Righteousness Sin and righteousness , have both come to be terms that provoke controversy. No one wants to be called a sinner . Sin implies judgment and condemnation. And if a person evaluates righteousness according to standards of behavior, he or she will fail to live up to his own standard. And so today these two words are shunned. The concepts of sin and death are closely linked in scripture. Commonly we consider sin to be something which breaks God s rules. This is understandable given the six hundred thirteen laws of the Old Testament. There is a problem with this way of thinking; it leads to legalism and a standard that can never be attained. The experience of trust and unity continues to be something people long for. As we strive for meaning, these relationships may be enjoyed and experienced easily until there is violation. Once violation is experienced in a relationship, the unity God designed us for must be nurtured, re established and grown by an attitude of grace. Paul further explains in chapter 7, that by receiving Jesus gift of righteousness, the laws that define our trespasses have been done away with. Life will reign in our experience as a result of His gift and grace filled response in our lives. Romans 7:6 states, we have been released from the Law and may live in newness of the Spirit , which will be demonstrated and experienced by relationships of unity as a result of the attitude of grace, which persists in spite of violation. When a person has accepted Jesus righteousness on his behalf, God in turn does not consider the person s actions when judging sin; rather God discerns the condition of his heart. By this experience of God s grace, trust in relationships may be reestablished: firstly in ones relationship with God. Yet, the experience paves the way, and human relationships also may also be nurtured and grown, when God s graceful response is applied in our relationships with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Zoos are now not only used for education, but for modern entertainment. Children love going to the zoo but as people are starting to get older, they are seeing going to the zoo in different perspectives. There a lots of questions pertaining to whether or not Zoos doing any good for animals. People may also argue and say that zoos are good for the animals that can t survive in the wild on their own. Are zoos benefiting the animals or are they holding them as prisoners? One of the most reputable organizations, PETA, goes to say that zoos are pitiful prisons . PETA discusses multiple subjects that really go into depth to help open the eyes of what really goes into play with the animals in the zoo. Firstly, zoos are cutting back on cost to for the people and business rather than the animals. Instead of using money to provide a naturalistic home for the animals, money is spent on landscaping, refreshment stands, and gift shops. PETA goes to explain that the animals are the ones paying the price, and even sometimes humans. For example, Tatiana, a Siberian tiger, escaped her substandard enclosure at the San Francisco Zoo in 2007 and was shot to death after she killed one person and injured two others; she had mauled one of the zookeepers a year earlier. Without experimentation and new discoveries, the world would lack some of the most brilliant inventions that people take for granted everyday. Petroleum powered vehicles are one of the many inventions that have become a huge part of everyone s lives and has opened up a network of ways to travel and communicate with others from all over the country. On the other hand, petroleum powered cars have posed a huge threat over the years and has emerged as one of the top contributors to global warming. Each school day I teach in two vastly different settings. In the morning I teach at an urban high school. We have roughly twelve hundred and fifty students. At my high school, we face all of the challenges you find in an urban setting. Sixty one percent of our students are economically challenged. Many of my students work in the evening to help out at home or to have spending money. Attendance is a concern. Attending school regularly is an issue with many of my students. We also have a large population of special needs students. Twenty two percent of our students have disabilities. The subject I teach at the high school is junior/senior level Earth and Space Science. I teach three sections and have a total of sixty four students in my classes. My course fulfills the third year of the science graduation requirement for many of my students. Accessing technology in my school can be challenging. We do not have one to one computer access for our students. We have one computer lab, one library computer lab and Chromecarts. After four years of journalism experience, Terrell is now the associate editor for an online journal called NewsOne. He has a bachelor s degree in English and two master degrees. He says that he owes all of his success to his grandmother; without her constant encouragement, he would never have become the accomplished journalist he is today. Terrell and his illiterate grandmother lived in a rough neighborhood on the west side of Detroit. His grandmother always encouraged him to pursue an education and constantly told him that there were no limits. • 18. Impact Of European Colonization On Native Americans The European Colonization of the Americas initiated in 1492 when Spanish explorer and navigator, Christopher Columbus sailed the sea to the New World. Their main motivation was to probe new trade routes, spread Catholicism and earn recognition and stardom for discoveries made similar to the findings that came from the conquest of the Aztecs and Incas. The English then established permanent settlement in the New World and interacted with the indigenous people that were already living there. This was found to have a detrimental effect on the Native Americans because Europeans brought dangerous diseases such as smallpox to the Americas. Also, natives were imperialized, forced to give up their vibrant culture and take up the lifestyle of the Spaniards. Primarily, one of the impacts that came about from the European colonization on Native Americans was the proliferation of disease. In Europe, people commonly lived in filth and bacteria because they didn t pay much attention to the importance of proper hygiene. However, in the Americas, people were isolated from the rest of the world and weren t surrounded by the rubbish that Europeans had incorporated in their livelihood. Also, because the Native Americans were somewhat advanced in medical technology, they didn t have to worry too much about people dying from treacherous diseases. It states, By contrast, the people of the Americas had spent thousand of years in biological isolation. By the time Columbus had arrived, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Quantitative, Qualitative And Quantitative Methodologies Introduction Along with qualitative and quantitative methodologies in research, the trend of combining both qualitative and quantitative methodologies is widely used and increasingly articulated, attached to research practice and recognized as the third major research approach or research paradigm (Johnson, Onwuegbuzie Turner, 2007). As cited by Anaf and Sheppard (2007), Key in 1997 suggested the theory and meaning, qualitative and quantitative methodologies are distinct. A qualitative methodology s focus of research is in its nature and essence. The goal of investigation of qualitative methodology is understanding, description and discovery. It usually involves small, non random, and theoretical population. Data collection takes into account researcher as the primary instrument, and sometimes involve interviews and observations. The mode analysis of qualitative method is inductive which leads to findings that are comprehensive and holistic. It was also claimed that a quantitative method s focus of research usually involves how many or the quantity. The goal of investigation of a quantitative method is usually about prediction, control and confirmation. It usually involves large, random and representative sample. Data collection that are usually used are inanimate instruments, surveys and questionnaires. The mode of analysis is usually deductive and lead to a precise and reductionist way of findings as cited by Anaf and Sheppard (2007). As described above, if by features ... • 22. Closed Loop Essay Abstract Closed loop feedback control approaches allow precise, real time control of neural activity pattern to lock spiking activity to specific target spiking rate within neural network. This approaches enable investigators to tune the internal brain state into a desired state, induce or disrupt the related frequency of neural network in order to achieve a specific functionality. Here we implement a continuous, precise closed loop feed back control to lock the firing rate at specific targeted spiking activities in moto cortex of isoflurane anesthetized rats and in a computational network level model. We found that controllability of neural activity strikingly varies as neural state changes, furthermore we found it trade off between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why does a quiescent animal evoke a larger response and adaptation comparing to an active and awake animal? There is a hypothesis that when cortex maintains the synchronized state in an anesthetized and quiescent awake animal, synapses are often in resting state so they are electrically less active. Therefore, they can save energy to perform other functions [26, 27]. Also, when the cortex evokes a large response to the first stimulus in a high repetitive stimulus within synchronization, it leaves less energy for response to other stimuli in the train therefore the response would suppress stronger in synchronized than the desynchronized state. Despite apparent complex state dependency of cortical response, investigators developed a simple excitable model to predict subsequent sensory response using background ongoing activity prior to the presentation of stimuli, they estimated the parameters of the model using spontaneous activity prior to the onset of stimuli. Model dynamics was changed to reproduce different cortical states, a nonlinear, self exciting system generated synchronized state and a linear system in reproduced desynchronized states. response to an isolated unattended stimulus was quantitatively predicted on a trial by trial basis using a simple dynamical system, it was shown that response is generated based on the same dynamics as spontaneous activity [28]. • 23. The Alternate Ending Of The Lord Of The Flies Lord of the Flies has many important themes and with an alternate ending, there are many new concepts for a theme introduced. Lord of the Flies has the theme of civilization versus savagery, which can be seen through Jack and Ralph. There are many similarities between the alternate ending and the original ending, but there are also many differences that can be noted. Lord of the Flies is a complex novel with a complex ending that can be analyzed to find the deeper meaning. The original ending to Lord of the Flies had Ralph running from the hunters, just to eventually find himself on the beach with a naval officer waiting to take the boys back to civilization. He had run from the hunters for fear of the stick sharpened on both ends as was stated by Samneric on page 273. The stick was going to be used for Ralph s severed head like it was for the Lord of the Flies. Ralph had wanted to stay as one group and pushed for civilization and rescue. Ralph clung to civilization throughout the entire book and even at the end without the conch or Piggy, he remained civilized and avoided becoming savage like Jack and the hunters. The alternate ending was not the same outcome for Ralph. Ralph had descended to savagery and lost sight of civilization and rescue. In the book he had moments where he forgot about wanting to be rescued, like on page 245; He paused lamely as the curtain flickered in his brain. This shows he had already started to lose sight of civilization but Piggy was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We will make extensive use of Fig. 1, which depicts a number of important concepts, beginning with the lower part of the figure, which depicts the elements and flow of a transmitter channel receiver communication system. As the caption explains, in this analogy, the transmitter is the world of visible radiant energy and of object surfaces that interact in a physically and statistically lawful manner, projecting through lenses to images that are incident on a sensor. Because of the coherent nature of matter and the physical properties of light, natural images that are formed by an optical process obey laws that can be statistically expressed. Section III elaborates on this, but for now the term natural image or natural video may be construed to mean an optical signal sensed from visible light that has been captured by an ordinary good quality camera equipped with a low distortion lens under reasonably good conditions. This means that the image is not distorted by noticeable aliasing from poor resolution, over or under exposure from poor lighting, or other impairments arising from poor technique. Each family had to face their own conflicts, which in different ways gets resolved in the end. These family problems in this episode includes couples not listening to each other, son not getting attention, and even the husband who struggles to show his manly side. Although the episode talks about all three families, they mainly had their own story line. These conflicts start with one member of the family; in this episode it is the man. In the beginning of the episode, the Dunphy Family had trouble with the smoke detectors. Phil Dunphy, who is the man of the family, struggles to tackle which detector is making the low battery sound. With little success, he feels like he isn t capable of even a simple task that s generally completed by men. He feels like he is losing his masculinity every time the smoke detectors chirp, which is literally driving him nuts. Mitchell, which happens to make the income to provide for the family, denies Cameron s request. Larson starts out by describing the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin and why he thinks it is such a great piece of scientific literature, and describes how it greatly affected the Christian community because a large part of it went against the Bible. He then explains the ideas behind evolution and natural selection. Larson stated that evolution was the theory that current living species evolved from preexisting species (Larson 14). Next, he sets the background for the rest of his book by giving details of how the situation surrounding evolution arose, and how the two lawyers got involved in the case.. He sets the background for the court case by stating that the teaching of evolution was banned in the schools of Dayton, Tennessee and that John Scopes was being prosecuted for teaching it to the class he was substituting. Following his explanation of the basis on the case, he describes the differences between fundamentalism and modernism. Museums must position their brand to corporations as places of value, enhancement and richness to local communities. Corporations need to reevaluate museums as a pillar for support on par with any other social cause, with value for society at large. With better understanding of the overlap of objectives both corporations and arts organizations share, public museums can offer creative, outside the box thinking in seeking corporate support. Museum development professionals can better understand the value to not only maintain existing resources, but ways to seek new partners through innovative corporate engagement by aligning museum programming and values with the increasingly social and environmental causes corporations have come to identify.
