Ant-Colony Analysis Paper
In this paper we will find solution using ant colony optimization. This process is based on probability
technique to find results of computational problem. It is a set of software agents called artificial ants to
find solution to a given problem. When ACO is applied then problem is changed into the problem of
finding the best way on the weighted graph. The artificial ants will increasingly build the solution path
via traversing through the whole graph. The solution is biased by the pheromone model that includes
the set of parameters linked with graph components whose values are changed at the runtime by ants.
Travelling Salesman problem was the first problem on which ant colony optimization technique were
applied. The behaviour of artificial ants is same as real ants. Ant deposit a substance on the ground
called pheromone while walking from the ant colony to the food and at backtracking also. At the time

Data Collection: This is the initial process to find out the optimal COCOMO coefficient using ant
colony optimization to assemble the dataset. Omitting some values from the dataset will probably lose
some data so our data set must be large enough to hold relevant values even after deletion. Dataset of
COCOMO 81 is chosen as the dataset. It includes 15 cost factors, 63data points, actual effort and
actual size.
Data Cleaning: The dataset consist of set project number and effort multipliers which further is
segmented into a set of 15 parameters, development effort and line of code. Relevant information will
be fetched from the initial dataset and dataset will be converted into a subset which will help us to get
relevant results. Data Analyzing: Analysis of data includes the removal of the outliers. These are the
experimental error which will leads to unsatisfactory results. It will deviate the actual result from the
expected one so they must be

Family Systems Theory Vs Family System Theory
I think that the Family System Theory and the Ecological System Theory are two important basic
beliefs about children, families, and family involvement. The system in the family system theory is a
system of people connected together and if one part isn t working things fall apart.
The elements that make up The Family System Theory are structures, rules, and boundaries.
Structures have to deal with behavioral patterns that are repeated made by the family. Rules are used
to agree and deal with situations. Each family has certain rules that are self regulating and work for
certain families. Boundaries are special rules that govern the interactions between subsystems in the
family. It helps families function well.

L Oreal Company Analysis
One of the biggest names in the make up industry is L Oreal. L Oreal runs a massive worldwide
operation employing nearly 62,000 men and women of various races, backgrounds and religions
across nearly 60 countries. Part of the reason for the corporation s success has been its sensitivity not
only to its consumers but also to each and every one of its employees. The corporation has made sure
that all their employees have opportunities to develop themselves both personally and professionally.
This commitment by the corporation to take care of their own employees has resulted in L Oreal being
rated by the European business school students as The Employer of Choice for the year 2006 (L Oreal
Corporation, n.d.). With over a century of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, there are also other notable weaknesses applicable to L Oreal. Another weakness point is
the existence of false claims in advertising. In May of 2007, L Oreal was ordered by the Therapeutic
Goods Administration of Australia to retract their claims on the wrinkle removing capabilities of their
products (Anti Aging Wrinkle Creams are a Rip Off).
Opportunities One of the areas of opportunity for L Oreal is its increased supply of ecologically and
environmentally friendly ingredients. L Oreal can increase their supply of ecologically and
environmentally friendly ingredients by furthering their Sustainability Assessment Framework and
working even more closely with current and new suppliers to address predetermined concerns (L
Oreal Corporation, n.d.). Another point of opportunity for the company is to increase its sales of its
Active Cosmetics product line. For 2006 alone, The Active Cosmetics product line of L Oreal made up
7.5% in total revenue for the corporation. L Oreal has recognized the growth in demand for active
cosmetics, that is why the corporation has been acquiring companies in the active cosmetics line. By
increasing their marketing and product line up for active cosmetics, L Oreal can reach a wider range of
consumers (L Oreal Corporation, n.d.). A third area of opportunity for L Oreal is that it could work on
purchasing of more successful cosmetics companies.

Native Americans And Africans In The European And Spanish...
The Calamity of Native Americans and Africans in the European and Spanish Colonization The
European Colonization of the Americas is described as the foundation and settlement of the Americas
by different European powers. Although the European Colonization of the Americas can be portrayed
as a success. Nevertheless, it is a calamity because many Native Americans were tortured or killed
with military force, and African individuals were enslaved and killed to create a new world . Not only
did the colonist kill Native Indians and Africans, but also took their freedom and religion away. When
the Spanish colonist landed on the shore of the Americas, military force was used to conquer and
establish land. Bartolomé de las Casas, a Spanish missionary and historian, advocated and exposed the
cruelty against Native Americans. Las Casas main goal was to persuade the Spanish to stop the torture
of indigenous people. In the document, A Brief Account of the Destruction of the Indies, Las Casas
explains, Those that arriv d at these Islands from the remotest parts of Spain, and who pride
themselves in the Name of Christians, steer d Two courses principally, in order to the Exptirpation,
and Exterminting of this People from the face of the Earth (A Brief Account of the Destruction of the

What Was The Underlying Cause Of World War I Dbq
It all began with an assassination,by a Serbian nationalist on June 28, 1914 in the Balkans. The
Archduke of Austria Hungary was shot and killed in his own vehicle, which sparked war between
Russia and Germany and the alliances that went along with it. The Allies consisted of France, Great
Britain, Russia, The United States and Italy, while The Central Powers consisted of Austria Hungary,
Germany the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. The underlying cause of World War I consisted of three
reasons, Militarism and Alliances as well as Imperialism being the most important. One underlying
cause of World War I was Militarism. In 1890 Germany and Austria Hungary spent together about 40
million pounds, and in 1914 increased their spending to 150 million pounds (Doc C). As well as that
Great Britain, Russia and France spent 100 million pounds and increased spending to 225 million
pounds (Doc C). This shows that a buildup of arms was an important underlying reason for the war. In
a speech before the German Congress Bernhard von Bulow spoke about how worried he is about
England, France and Russia based on their acquiring of colonies around the world and how he does
not want to Step on the toes of any foreign power (Doc ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

each other and blaming each other for the war (Doc B). The hand in the corner of the cartoon is there
to point at how the peace of Europe was destroyed by alliance systems (Doc B). This cartoon reveals
that alliances just made the war bigger and more complicated. The war began between two countries
and alliance systems brought in multiple outside countries into the war to support and protect the
alliance that they were in. This evidence supports the claim that the Alliance system was an underlying
cause of the war because of how easy it was for a war between two people to turn into one between

Photography Is Not Just About Taking Simple Photographs
In this generation people tend to take their photographs on their phones instead of hiring a
professional photographer to take them. Photography is not just about taking simple photographs.
Professional photographers need to understand the concept of what makes the best photographs.
Photographers must use lighting, different equipment, different types of photographs, and specific
subject matter to create unique photographs as well as how to finish and edit them. The beginning of
photography was in 1826, when Nicephore Niepce produced the first permanent photograph using a
camera obscura. Three years later in 1829, Louis Daguerre joined partnership with Nicephore Niepce (
Ted s Photographics The Fundamental Principles of Photography Explained. ). In 1839, years after the
death of Nicephore Niepce, Louis Daguerre became the first photographer to use silver iodide coated
plates and a small box to take a photograph (Careers in Focus 101). Motion photographs were made in
1877 using a series of still photographs to create the illusion of motion. In 1889, Thomas Edison
developed the first single unit motion picture camera; standards that are still used today (Careers in
Focus, 25). Many professional photographers use different type of equipment: cameras, lenses, and
accessories. Many photographers use different cameras and lenses depending on the type of
photograph they re going to take. Many photographers use the 35mm SLR (single lens reflect) camera.

The Properties Of Soft Multi Sets
Abstract In this paper we define some properties of soft multi sets. We also define soft multi set
topology, its interior exterior, boundary and their properties. We establish several important results in
mathematical modeling of spacial objects using fuzzy soft interior, fuzzy soft exterior, fuzzy soft
boundary.
Keywords Fuzzy Sets, Soft Sets, Multi Sets, Fuzzy Topology.
I. INTRODUCTION (Heading 1)
We may have to face vagueness in most of the engineering, physics, computer sciences, economics,
social sciences, environmental science and medical sciences problems. These may be due to the
uncertainties of natural environmental phenomena, incompleteness of human knowledge about the
real world or due to the limitations of the means and methods used to take measurements. We can see
vagueness or uncertainty when we decide the boundary between the continents or between different
seas, when the growth rate of population in a country s rural area is determined or when we make
decisions using database information. In all these cases classical set theory, which is based on crisp
concept will not furnish the exact information.
The mathematical ideas like probability theory, fuzzy sets [12], rough sets [10] are well known as
effective models for dealing with such uncertainties. However, each of them has distinguished
advantages as well as certain limitations. Fuzzy sets fail to parameterize a value.
Molodtsov [7] introduced a completely new approach for modeling vagueness and

Advantage Of Polished Concrete Floor
Concrete Floor
Concrete floor is one of the most durable materials in the world. It can be made with waste products
which help to reduce the consumption of valuable materials. It also can be made from fly ash, slag
cement, and silica fume, all waste byproducts from steel mills, power plants and other manufacturing
facilities.
There are the several types of concrete floor styles that can be stamped, stained and polished. But the
choice for the employee locker room will be a polished concrete floor. For my opinion, polished floor
will be suitable because it is economical, durable, versatile, affordable, low maintenance and is a long
lasting floor as show in figure 1 (Ref.1). Polished concrete floor is made from an aggregate (rocks,
river stones and granite chips) which is mixed with a cement binder such as limestone, calcium,
sulphate and water.
Figure 1: Employee Locker Room Polished Concrete Floor
Benefits of a polished concrete floor:

it also eliminates the need for messy waxing or frequent resurfacing.

maintenance as we do not need to clean the floor with a vacuum cleaner and mop it once again like

But unfortunately, it has an awful reputation because of the products on the market that have been
fabricated by low price point. If you want to avoid the risk that you might buy the cheap rubbish
flooring, laminate floor is definitely good and very hard wearing. It is hard to damage the surface of
floor and people should expect it to come with a lasting shelf life of 20 years

Biodiesel As AAlternative Fuel Source
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND
Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils, used cooking oils, and animal fats by the production
process called trans esterification to convert those mixtures to the chemicals which have long chain
mono alkyl esters or fatty acid methyl esters which can be used as fuel for vehicles. Approximately,
100 pounds of vegetable oil react with 10 pounds of alcohol (commonly methanol) in the presence of
a catalyst, sodium hydroxide; later, 100 pounds of biodiesel and 10 pounds of glycerol (co product)
can be produced. For the glycerol which can be used for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Therefore,
biodiesel can be considered as totally natural, alternative fuel source to be available for using in most

During the second step, the maximum yield (around 91%) fatty acid methyl ester can be collected
within 30 minutes by the ratio 6:1 (methanol to vegetable oil) with potassium hydroxide amount of 1
wt% and temperature 60°C for the reaction (Veljkovic et al., 2006). In Malaysia, many oil palm
industries generate excess crude palm oil for large quantities for consumption. Palm oil is one of the
four leading vegetable oils for business on the world market where it is sold with cheaper price than
soya bean oil to reduce the overhead cost of biodiesel production. For previous researches, crude palm
oil, methyl ester is not harmful and toxic to processing organism and also selectively extracted butanol
can increase butanol productivity and production in acetone butanol fermentation (Ishizaki et al.,
1999). With nowadays increasing in energy require globally, especially for transportation industry,
people are highly demanded for more sustainable energy resources. Traditionally, the energy resource
for transportation has been petroleum based for over more than hundred years ago; however, it is not
renewable and at certain times in the future, it is may be not accessible in abundant quantities or even

Costing and Pricing Decisions
Running head: COSTING AND PRICING DECISIONS
Costing and Pricing Decisions
Cost Allocations
Cost allocation is the process of assigning the indirect costs of producing a product. These indirect
costs may be shared by multiple products. This is where cost allocation comes into play. Indirect costs
can be allocated to products, services and departments. Cost allocation allows a company to calculate
fully cost of their products. This provides them the ability to price products accurately. Three common
costs that need to be considered when allocating costs include joint costs, sunk costs and opportunity
costs (Jiambalvo, 2007).
Joint Costs When at least two products come out of a common input they are considered joint
products. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This helps to avoid making decisions based on sunk costs.
A third way to avoid the sunk cost effect that Roberto, 2009 writes about is to take a look at the
assumptions being made and discover is they are reality. There are assumptions being made about the
company s ability to recover lost project. Taking a look at these assumptions and determining if they
are actually accurate assumptions or just optimism about something that is not possible. The last way
Roberto, 2009 writes about to avoid making decisions based on sunk costs is to determine the
opportunity costs of continuing with the project instead of ending it. Making decisions based on sunk
costs can lead a company to making poor financial decisions and in turn have an effect on being able
to price their future products appropriately.
Opportunity Costs
An opportunity cost is a cost that is caused by making one choice over another. An example of this
would be if you purchased season tickets to the Ravens with your tax return instead of paying your
credit card off with the money. The interest that you continue to pay on your credit card as a result of
not paying it off with your tax return would be considered the opportunity cost (Jiambalvo, 2007).

The ability to manipulate a visual image of sound gave the creator more control of the sound thus
making way for more creativity. It used a distinctive computer screen and a light pen a computer

Many number one recording artists such as Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel and Stevie Wonder used the early
Fairlight for their recordings. In her publication Popular Music Brabazon draws our attention to the
use of the CMI on two chart topping recordings of the early eighties. Peter Gabriel s Start that was
released in May 1980 featured a string sample of the early fairlight and bush used a breaking glass
sample for her recording of Babooshka . By this time the use of samples was ever growing within

Self Regulation And Effective Learning Essay
Much research has shown the necessity for students to learn the behaviors that make up self regulation
to learn successfully and be most effective in their personal and professional lives. Self regulation
refers to one s ability to monitor their own behaviors, assess those behaviors based on their own
standards, and provide punishments and reinforcements for those behaviors accordingly. In the
experience of these authors, students increasingly enter classes lacking essential behaviors necessary
for self regulation and effective learning. Instructors must first understand self regulation and how it
affects the learning process, as well as provide students the necessary tools to achieve self regulation;
however, these authors believe the path to self regulation begins from the first moment of contact with
students. A classroom environment in which students feel comfortable, clearly understand
expectations and receive timely responses allows students to gain confidence and trust the instructor.
This type of environment sets the tone for the instructor then to share, model and shape strategies in
students leading to self regulation.
Introduction Social learning theory introduced the crucial concept of self regulation, which refers to
the ability to monitor one s own behavior, judge the behavior based on one s own standards, and
institute consequences of reinforcement or punishment. The ability to self regulate is made of many
strategies that once learned, can be

the Honda Insight, offer two engines instead of one, a fuel efficient gas engine and an electric engine

percent increase in fuel economy with the standard Honda Civics cutting the closest with an average
thirty six miles per gallon. Although manufacture s miles per gallon boasts great numbers, the actual
claimed mileage by drivers is reduced roughly ten

stool, and a bottle of water. The stage is empty and silent, then someone appears on the stage. But in
that moment, you don t think about the reasons for your great anticipation, whether it is because
someone is entering the stage or the on coming laughter that you look forward to. This is one of stand
up comedy s greatest mysteries. These unknown mysteries bring life into us in many ways. Comedy
captures minds, by changing, evolving, and redefining everything we did or did not think. This
gateway to bliss aids our bodies through chemicals we produce. But most importantly, it is a huge
factor in our human makeup, and how we communicate and relate ... Show more content on

The meaning of laughter to all is not as simple, but much more complex. Comedians use comedy as a
door to educate minds, while using laughter as a safety room. Jokes are made by a formula, one
critiqued and created to perfection to make the listener believe in what they are saying. So, when the
moment comes and a joke is said, not only is the listener s voice unleashing sounds, but their minds
are releasing thoughts and questions. The question also begs us to consider when we laugh, with
whom, at whom, at what, and why (Carter and Villaverde, 104). Picture this, a room full of people that
are crying from laughter, heaving because they are out of breath, and smiling uncontrollably, right
after you release your deepest thoughts in one joke. This is the moment comedians live for, because
knowing that the crowd laughed meant they are right where the comedians need them, vulnerable. In
those few seconds the crowd is impressionable, laughing while questioning everything they ever
thought. This here is the change comedians have been looking for. In a TEDtalk with Chris Bliss
called Chris Bliss: Comedy Is Translation, he stated, Every act of communication is an act of
translation. In short, the language of comedy is a simple truth. Comedy educates in its own language.
Only those brave enough and self assured can conquer such a

The Importance Of Elementary Writing
Writing in a horizontal line is essential for students in the elementary setting. Writing first begins in
preschool, within the following year student s knowledge of words increases greatly. A student s
writing and reading skills only continue to grow as he/she reaches middle and high school. Students
use writing in a variety of different ways especially in the elementary setting. Writing may be used to
describe a picture, how the student is feeling, to share information and more. It is essential that
students are given the opportunity to demonstrate strong writing skills throughout elementary school.
Although writing is essential in the development of students, many students lack the foundational
writing skills needed to be effective. Only 25% of students in the National Assessment of Educational
Progress were classified as competent writers (Persky, Daane, Jin, 2003).
The purpose of this study is to assist the student (Jaden) with writing in a horizontal line across the
page when forming sentences. Jaden can write complete sentences without the assistance of teachers,
but his sentences are never in order. Jaden tends to write words within the sentence anywhere when
provided with a sheet of paper. Being able to form sentences correctly across the page is important for
the student to understand what he is writing. When asked to read back what he wrote, the student is
often unable because of his inability to form sentences correctly across the page. The task is when

Calypso is one of the most significant traditions in the Caribbean Music Industry. Come, Mister tally
man, tally me banana, daylight come and me wan go home, are the words to a famous calypso song
recorded by Harry Belafonte in 1956. The Free Dictionary defines calypso music as a type of music
that originated in the West Indies, notably in Trinidad, and is characterized by improvised lyrics on
topical or broadly humorous subjects . It can also be said that calypso is a certain style of music which
incorporates rhythms that are typical of African music. This type of music is seen played during

success in his life, while becoming the most popular caypsonian of all time by the people. According
to Manuel (2006), Sparrow demonstrated year after year, with his social commentaries that the

Aldwyn Roberts was the son of a blacksmith, Stephen, and homemaker Albertha. Kitchener s success

achieved international success (wikipedia.org). He began his career in Trinidad and won his first Road

competitions of the sixties and seventies. It has been stated that Lord Kitchener won the road march
competition ten times between 1965 and 1976, more times than any other calypsonian. In the 1950s,
he explored West Africa and enjoyed a big hit there with his single, Nora . Farlex mentioned that for

Japan, because it is an island nation, possesses few natural resources and even fewer sources of fuel
and energy (Nuclear Power in Japan, April 2015). As a result, Japan depends on nuclear power to

A boiling water reactor vessel contains two primary pieces: the reactor core and the steam dryer
assembly. The reactor cores of these reactors were compromised of fuel rods and control rods. Within
the reactor core, a nuclear reaction is started to produce heat. To produce heat, zirconium fuel rods
containing bundles of uranium 235 fuel bundles (Fukushima: Background on Reactors, February
2012) are inserted into the reactor core (the 235 in uranium 235 represents the atomic mass of that
particular uranium isotope). In nuclear fission, nuclei of fuel atoms are split by bombarding them with
neutrons to produces a chain reaction. Within nuclear reactors, neutrons are released to hit fuel or
uranium 235 atoms. When a neutron hits a uranium atom it increases the atomic mass by one to
become uranium 236, however uranium 236 is an extremely unstable uranium isotope, so it splits into
barium 141, potassium 92 and three more neutrons (and this also produces heat). Each neutron
produced from the reaction then zips around the reactor to hit another uranium 235 atom to continue
the chain reaction. To moderate the chain reaction within reactor cores, control rods filled with boron
carbide are inserted into the core (Fukushima Daiichi: ANS Committee Report, n.d.). Boron carbide
absorbs neutrons when the two come in contact, so when control rods are injected,

Essay On Male Circumcision
The choice of circumcision is purely a personal choice and an elective procedure that each family can
make their own decision on. However, there are many medical benefits that have medical evidence to
support. Male circumcision is the removal of some or all of the foreskin covering the head of the penis
(Circumcision Academy of America, 2016). This procedure is one of the most common medical
procedures performed on male infants in the United States, typically occurring after 24 hours of life,
and almost always done within 10 days. There is current evidence that the health benefits of newborn
male circumcision outweigh the risks, and therefore justify access to this procedure for families who
choose it (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2012). There are many medical benefits of circumcision

Circumcision reduces the risk of penile cancer. It has been found that the incidence of penile cancer is
about 1 in 100,000, but in uncircumcised men is 1 in a 600 chance (Hall, 2008). Penile cancer is
almost exclusively found in uncircumcised men. Uncircumcised men have a higher etiological risk
including of human papillomavirus (HPV), phimosis, and balanitis due to their location of the glans
penis and coronal sulcus which is covered by the foreskin (Morris, et al., 2011). There is evidence that
circumcised men may clear HPV more quickly and phimosis which is a congenital narrowing of the
foreskin opening, restriction impeding the passage of urine and the ability to clean under the foreskin
(Circumcision Academy of America, 2016). Phimosis almost exclusively occurs in uncircumcised men
(Morris, et al., 2011) and increases the risk of penile cancer 12 fold (Circumcision Academy of
America, 2016). There is also significant evidence of circumcision

People Conform To The Environment In Malcolm Gladwell s...
The general argument made by author Malcolm Gladwell in his work, Power of Context, is that
people conform to their environment. More specifically, Gladwell argues that environment is what
controls how and why a person reacts to a certain situation. He writes, The Broken Windows Theory.
In this passage, Gladwell is suggesting that if ones community is poor then people will tend to make
poor decisions. In conclusion, Gladwell s belief is that little tipping points will slowly and effectively
change the environment they live in.
I believe, The Broken Windows theory plays an enormous role in the environment around oneself.
Due to the fact that the train station choose to clean every single one of the carts that came through
and placing security guards at stations to not allow people to sneak into the trains. By doing these
things, this did not manipulate the on goers that saw this but it allowed everyone to see how to be a
role model. These little things that the Gunn and William Bratton choose to do set the community up
for excellence rather than failure.
Gladwell states that if Goetz would have met up with the four young black men in a different place the
shooting most likely would not have taken place. Because the train station was treated like trash Goetz
first off had the feeling beforehand to carry a gun onto the train. By paying attention to such little
details such as the graffiti it could change the mindset of many of the hoodlums around. Malcom says
that Gunn drew up a new management structure and a precise set of goals and timetables aimed at
cleaning the systems line by line, train by train. He started with the number seven train that connects
Queens to midtown Manhattan, and began experimenting with new techniques to clean off the paint.
He also states that Gunn is going to be religious about cleaning every train.
Gladwell believes that human behavior is more fully formed due to the community around. You can
try to adapt to a different cultures but you are just going to fall right into what the people are doing
around you. If the people around you are committing crimes, then you are tempted to do the exact
same thing. Gladwell states, It says that crime is

Introduction
According to Rittschof and Fortunato (2016), there has been little research conducted about the
correlation between child protective service worker burnout rates and supportive supervisors and
leadership personnel. The objective of this quantitative scholarly article is to inform the reader of the
high turnover and burnout rate among child protective service workers. This article also includes
information about the areas of growth that need to be improved upon in this department of social
services. According to Rittschof and Fortunato (2016), leadership, management, and supervision are
huge factors in the success and retention rate of child protective service workers. This article
specifically pinpoints, through data analysis, the correlation between effective and positive
transformational leadership and its impact on child protective service worker performance (Rittschof
and Fortuno, 2016).
Summary
Purpose/Intention 1,090 child protective service case managers were invited to participate in the study
of organizational commitment, job burnout, and intent to quit based on transformational leadership

Relationship Between Emma Woodhouse And George Knightley
This essay will analyse the relationship between Emma Woodhouse and George Knightley in the text
Emma from a feminist perspective. The relationship in general contains two different personalities.
Emma is one who believes that she can create the perfect couple , which gives her the belief of
knowing everything . George Knightley is more of a moral compass for Emma, and he usually
displays his approval and disapproval of her actions. Before the relationship is examined; it would be
insightful to reflect on the social context that the text is set in like the system of patriarchy, and the
expectation of women from certain wealthy families.
The Elizabethan era was marked by the rule of Queen Elizabeth I (1558 1603). This era in English
history has often been regarded as a golden age of the time. This was due to ideas of national pride,
many reforms in areas of society, and the use of theatre alongside William Shakespeare (1564 1616).
This society was however set within the confines of patriarchy.
Emma is also set within the confines of a patriarchal Elizabethan era society. Even though the text was
written after the time of Queen Elizabeth I and Shakespeare because Jane Austen lived about 100
years after the two (1775 1817). The idea of patriarchy was one notion that continued. Patriarchy is
defined as, A system of society or government in which the father or eldest male is head of the family

The Proposed Framework, Information Security Human Factor...
The proposed framework, Information Security Human factor framework has two dimensions;
organization employee dimensions. Each dimension has two domains, under the organization
dimension there is environment and management domains. Environment domain relates to cultural
and regulation issues while the management domain is concerned with mainly security policies and
practice of information security. The next dimension is the employee dimension. Preparedness and
responsibility domains are included in this dimension. Preparedness is concerned with security,
education, training and awareness while the responsibility domain is concerned with mainly employee
practice and performance. Figure 2
The proposed framework considers the SCT and previous other research of human factors in
information security. From the proposed Information Security human factor framework, domains of
the proposed framework relate to the SCT factors in a couple of ways. Firstly, the SCT environmental
factors relate to environment and management domains (Organization dimension) of the proposed
framework. Secondly, SCT s cognitive and behavioral factors are in relation with the employee
dimension of the proposed framework.
The proposed framework is further enhanced by mapping factors considered in previous studies thus
identifying subdomains of the four main domains (environment, responsibility, management,
preparedness). The below table lists the domain, human factors and previous studies that

We have fought for politicians and our governments to be more transparent through the years, and we
have made strides to do that with the rise of technology. The government now shares majority of its
actions online so that citizens can stay informed, and this is generally a good thing. But The Circle
brings up and important issue of when is there enough transparency? When do we stop being
transparent and let people have their privacy? As companies like Apple and Google continue to create
new innovations our society will have to address these issues. In the future we should strive to create
technologies that will reduce crimes, increase honesty in governments, and allow people to interact
with each. We should not create these technologies at the cost of personal privacy or loss of real life
interactions. We do not want a future where kids do not know how to interact on a playground or
where adults cannot talk to each other meaningfully in person because they have lost social skills. We

Hammurabi s Family Law
Hammurabi s Code was JUST
Nearly 4000 years ago, a man named Hammurabi became King of Babylon. He ruled for 42 years.
During that time, he became the ruler of much of Mesopotamia, which had an estimated population of
1,000,000 people. Hammurabi was no normal King, in his 38th year he made a set of 282 laws which
he called a code, this code was the most complete set of laws any ruler of Mesopotamia had ever
made. He had engraved these laws onto a stele. A stele is a clay tablet that has been written into by a
sharpened reed. This writing form was called cuneiform. He created this code to bring order and
fairness to all. There has been a debate over the years about whether his code is just or not. In my
opinion, Hammurabi s code was just because of its family law, its property law, and its personal injury
law. Hammurabi s code was just becuase of it s family law. One reason is because there is proof that
the Shamash, the god of Justice gave him these laws. When archeologist first discovered the stele in
which the code was written upon, they found that there was a carving at the top that was a picture of
Shamash on his throne, feeding Hammurabi his ancient laws. Another reason is that Hammurabi

Techniques In The Film Bowling For Columbine
Intro:
Good Afternoon,
It was the morning of April 20th, 1999. And it was pretty much like any other morning in America.
The farmers did his chores, the milkman made his deliveries, the president bombed another country
whose name we could not pronounce. Out in Fargo, North Dakota, Carry McWilliams went on his
morning walk. Back in Michigan, Mr. Hughes welcomes his students for another day at school. And
out in a little town in Colorado, two boys went bowling at six in the morning. Yes, it was a typical day
in the United States of America. (Narrator 2002) In the documentary Bowling For Columbine the
director, Michael Moore uses a variety of techniques to position the audience to accept the dominant
reading that America is gun crazy and a violent history begets violence. Paragraph 1:
The film begins with a representative of the national rifle association talking about the film. This
automatically puts the audience into a position to think about guns. The film techniques in this film
are used to help tell a story and to re enforce the argument to help get a certain response from the
audience. The documentary Bowling For Columbine uses the techniques such as cartoons, music
choice, and interviews with people that were involved in the mass shooting. This is to help convey the
message of America s gun crazy and has a violent history begets violence.
Cartoons are used in the document to keep the audience interest. For example, around the middle of
the film, there was

the Themes in All the Years of her Life The idea of Conflict is an extremely complex one and is

define the term Conflict , as defined by the Oxford Dictionary Be incompatible or at a variance; clash

Mrs. Higgins has a breakdown as Alfred describes her Her face as she sat there was a frightened

choices she made and the people around her had made, her broken spirit symbolizes that she may have
made the wrong decision earlier. The theme of realization and resolution is again developed from the
conflict that the protagonist had faced in her life, the realization she has after dealing with all her
conflicts as she reflects on the table. The realization Alfred has when he sees the conflict that his

A Study On The And Properties Of Aluminium Alloys
CHAPTER 3 LITERATURE REVIEW
3.1 Introduction
The Al Zn Mg series aluminium alloys (7xxx) are the heat treatable alloys and widely applied as large
structural components in navigation and transportation facilities, due to good combination of hardness,
high strength and fracture toughness [1 6]. The use of Sc (scandium) to achieve grain refinement has
recently received great attention. The microstructures and properties of aluminium alloys are strongly
affected by adding small quantities of scandium. Scandium additions in excess of 0.55wt.% (i.e.,
hypereutectic) are very effective in grain refinement, suggesting that the primary ScAl3 phase serves
as an effective grain nucleant [7 9].
The effect of a Sc addition will of course depend on the composition of the alloy. The additions of Sc
in aluminium alloy appear to reduce hot tearing and shrinkage porosity. Hot shortness increase with
increase in Zn but decrease with increase in Mg content [10, 11]. The process of precipitation in the Al
Zn Mg alloy system is quite complex. The aged structure and the kinetics of ageing depend on both
the Zn and Mg concentration and the temperatures of solution and ageing treatments. As the Sc
contents increases within the specified solubility in the solid solution, the grains virtually do not
disintegrate. The maximum solubility of scandium increases from 0.35 to 0.6 wt.% [12, 13]. When the
amount of scandium exceeds the eutectic content and, consequently, there appear primary particles of

Cognitive psychology has long been an integral part of psychology. It has a direct impact on how
educator s look to improve the teaching and learning process. (Huitt 2006) Much research is done on
how we process information. There have been numerous models created to help illustrate this process.
Metacognition is also important to educators in it allows a learner to judge how well they are learning
a particular subject. There are many ways that we process information. Theorists have developed
models of information processing. These models are a cornerstone for education. They provide
teachers with understanding of how their students retain the subject matter they are being taught.
Metacognition is also important in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

always review previous lesson to ensure that the students are processing the information. This can be
done by incorporating information from previous lessons in new lessons or repeating important
information in a variety of ways. (Huitt 2003) Metacognition is described by David Meichenbaum and
his colleagues as people s awareness of their own cognitive machinery and how the machinery works.
(Woolfolk 2007) This can also be defined as knowledge about knowing and learning. (Woolfolk 2007)
Metacognition is the application of the three types of knowledge discussed previously: declarative,
procedural, and conditional. There are three skills that are used in metacognition: planning,
monitoring, and evaluating. Planning determines how much time will be spent on a task, what
methods to use, what resources are needed, organization, what needs focused attention, etc.
Monitoring is checking with yourself to see how you are doing. Ask yourself if it makes sense or have
I studied enough. Evaluating is a judgment of the outcome. Metacognition is usually not required for
tasks that are routine, but is very helpful when tasks are

Life Process Of A Cell
Cell Biology
Introduction
The report will look at and discuss the life process of a cell, the functions of the cell and the cells
structure. A cell is the smallest unit of an organism and is the building block of all living things.
Key life processes of a cell
All living things including cells have some life processes in common. There are seven processes that
they need to preform to be classed alive. These are:
1) Movement all living things have movement including plants
2) Respiration the process of getting energy from food
3) Sensitivity this allows the living thing to detect changes in the surroundings
4) Growth all living things grow
5) Reproduction to reproduce and make more living things of the same type
6) Excretion getting rid of waste product
7) Nutrition taking in and using food
Viruses are not known as living like cells as living things require nutrition and viruses do not. A virus
is not live; it is unable to absorb nutrients, produce or excrete waste; so viruses attach themselves to
living organism known as a host to survive and gain the nutrition they need. They also need the host to
be able to move and reproduce as they unable to do this alone. Viruses have to inject its viral DNA
into the host cell it has invaded in order to get the host to reproduce for it.
Understanding living cells and distinguishing them from viruses
There are two primary types of cells prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The key difference between the two
is that the eukaryotic cells contain

The Life of Artemisia Gentileschi
Life of Artemisia Gentileschi
Italian Baroque painter, Artemisia Gentileschi was born in Rome on July 8th, 1593. Her father Orazio
Gentileschi, who was a painter himself, introduced Artemisia to the art of painting by giving her
lessons in his studio. At an early age, Artemisia displayed her interest in art and it wasn t long until her
father noticed potential in his daughter enough that she would be able to make a name for herself in
the male dominated career. Artemisia had the desire to follow in her father s footsteps, it was then that
Orazio encouraged her to follow her dreams and decided to begin training her as an artist. After
collaborating on a project with the painter Agostino Tassi, Orazio hired him to tutor Artemisia on
perspective due to his skills with landscape. During one of their lessons, Tassi took advantage of
Artemisia and raped her. In their time, if a woman was raped, the man who was responsible had to
marry her. I find it odd knowing that back then it was considered normal for a man to rape a woman
that he wanted to be with and marrying her after. Sounds to me like women had no choice, no say on
who they wanted to be in relationship with. Sadly, in many cases the men who committed the rape
would flee from the situation to avoid getting married after getting what they wanted. Even though the
women weren t at fault, if unmarried women weren t virgins they were seen as tainted, or no good for
another man. After the incident had occurred, Tassi had

The Factors Of The French Resistance In World War II
The French Resistance The French Resistance was a collection of resistance groups that fought against
Nazi Germany and its puppet state of Vichy France. They were mainly comprised of men and women
who fought the Nazis through sabotage, ambushes, and hit and run tactics; disrupting power grids,
transport lines, and telecommunications. In addition to guerilla warfare, they also published
underground newspapers, collected intelligence, and helped Allied soldiers trapped behind enemy
lines to escape. Furthermore, they also played a large role in Operation Overlord (invasion of northern
France) and Operation Dragoon (invasion of southern France) by providing the Allies with locations
of Nazi fortifications and defenses. The French Resistance was extremely crucial to winning World
War II and saving the lives of Allied soldiers.
The surrender of France to the Nazis in June of 1940 was a major blow to French nationalism. Many
believed the government had let the people down by fleeing Paris and through the creation of Vichy
France, a French puppet government supported by the Nazis. The assurance by the French government
that the Maginot Line was more than strong enough to resist a Nazi attack was of course, proved false.
The Maginot Line also had a glaring weakness: there were very little fortifications bordering Belgium.
France did not want to offend its ally, so the Maginot Line stopped at the Ardennes Forest, which was
considered impenetrable. However, the Nazis bombed French

Ancient Aztec Art
The modern concept of art as a form of individual expression would not have made much sense to
most Aztec artists, particularly those in the visual arts painting, sculpture, and metalworking. For most
Aztec artists their works were not meant to express feelings or thoughts, nor were they meant to be
beautiful or pleasing to view. Art was almost entirely in the service of Aztec religion. Since the Aztec
common people could not read, art was the central means of conveying the ideas and stories of the
spirit world and communicating religious truths to them. Sculptures of the gods were necessary for
worship. These statutes, often made in the detailed image of one of the gods, existed in every Aztec
home. There were thousands in temples and in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first discovery of Olmec art was a colossal head, found in the area of Tres Zapotes in 1862. As of
2004 seventeen colossal heads have been located in several sites. These, like much Olmec art, were
designed to glorify the Olmec rulers. For the Olmecs, art was meant to give power to the shaman or
ruler. The massive altars made of enormous carved basalt blocks weighing up to 44 tons (40 metric
tons), for instance, are believed to have served as thrones for the Olmec kings. At the bottom and front
of each of these altars was a carved niche. A small human figure sits in the niche, holding either a
were jaguar on his lap or a cord in his hand, or both. The niche, according to experts, represents a
cave, or the entrance to the supernatural world and the ruler s ties to the gods. The process of entering
into the otherworld the world of the supernatural is central to most Olmec art. Though they were
masters at stone carving, the Olmec were also highly skilled potters and stone cutters. Much of their
pottery depicts nagual transformations the jaguar in particular, but also the harpy (part bird, part
woman), shark, and caiman (a kind of crocodile found in Central and South America). Among Olmec
artifacts, archaeologists have found many life sized ceramic human infants made from white clay.
They are realistic portraits and beautifully crafted, but experts are not

The Impact Of Online Activism On Hong Kong
Online activism is increasingly advocated in many modern societies by allowing activists to instantly
spread and deliver information to a broader audience. In the digital age, activists can easily raise
awareness, share videos and opinions through various online platforms. This new phenomenon of
activism driven by media technologies has been widely used in Hong Kong to retain human rights,
protesting for more autonomy and democracy. Given the ability of online activism to raise awareness
and rally support for different political or social movements, it places great challenge for the Hong
Kong and Mainland Chinese authorities to keep their power intact.
This paper will examines how Hong Kong civil societies have used online activism to ... Show more

To answer these questions, this paper argues that online activism can be successful in mobilizing
supporters together, but not necessarily effective in achieving the desired outcome due political
boundaries. This paper is divided into five main parts: part one introduces the theoretical framework
of activism and the use of media technologies to support for human rights. Part two explores how a
unique Hong Kong identity was created during the years as a British colony and examines the degree
of democracy in Hong Kong after the handover of sovereignty in 1997. Part three uses case studies of
the July 1 protest and the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong to illustrate the use of media in
convening for supporters. Part four evaluates the effectiveness of using online activism to pursue
social and political changes as demonstrated in the two case studies. Finally, this paper examines the
responses from government authorities in tackling Internet activism and how some are deemed to
violate basic human rights.
Activism has always been present throughout history whilst using digital platforms have further drive
it to a next level. Activism is the ability to act, influence or even change the course of history.
Societies today did not become the way it is naturally, rather, it is shaped by historical events and is
constantly changing in response to the stances and actions of the citizens. Activism entails the actions
of promoting, impeding government policies or social issues

Why People Commit Crimes In America
The government federal state has a lot of monitoring to do because this state has the most people in
prison. This is ironic because this country is called the free country. Over 25% of the population in
prison are in the United States. This means that we need to set a boundary about what to do and how
to help these people not to commit crime. Maybe America is America because of all the slaves that
were kept captive. Maybe they just were in a bad position to do anything and gave up so they resorted
to committing crimes. We the people must help these group of people get better and not commit
anymore crime. Criminals may happen sometime but having 25% of the prisoners in the US is too
much for a country let alone a free country. Another thing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bill of rights is a good way to have people in line but we don t enforce it enough to the point
people will stop committing crimes. Crimes are really popular in the US because they know that they
will be in jail for only a certain amount of time and they have people in there to live with. The
criminals also know once they are out they will avoid doing their mistake. But we need to stop the
people who are raised badly and fix them on the spot. Prisoners should have a talk with the world or
whoever wants to listen about their story on how they got in jail. This is because they instantly regret
everything they did wrong and try to fix it right away. Another thing is that people need to learn how
to give and not always take from others. For example say you are a wealthy man/women and you see a
homeless man on the street give him like one dollar or something because you don t know how long
he has been starving and why the homeless are on the street. Everyone has a backstory on how they
got there. Homeless might have a backstory of being in the war and he got shot and he lost everything
because of that you will never know what

Summary Of The Poem Advice To My Son
The poem Advice to My Son written by Peter Meinke and Mother to Son by Langston Hughes
explores beauties and practicalities of life, they are very short poems but nonetheless very meaningful
and powerful. Both speakers of the poems are parents who are passing on valuable advice to their
children. The speaker in the poem Mother to Son tells her son some of the battles she s gone threw in
life. She s giving her son the lesson that life isn t always the easiest but to always keep going forward
and to stay positive about life. On the other hand, the poem Advice to my Son is advising his son to
balance the beauties of life and to be careful because it s not always easy. In the world today,
relationships are vital to get by the hardships the world gives us every day. One of the best
relationships people will ever have is the relations with their parents. They might be unaware of it
until they mature, but parent child relations are always extraordinary. Communication, respect, and
safety are very important for parent child relationships. A parent should always tell their child to live
life and have fun. In the poem, Advice to My Son, the author states, but, son, always serves wine.
(Meinke 22). In this poem the father tells his son that life is short, and he should live it day by day, but
always plan ahead. The most important thing he tells his son is to always have fun, no matter what he
is doing. Also, a parent should know when it is time to let their child to soar and be more independent.
On the other hand, the poem Mother to Son states Life for me ain t been no crystal stair (Hughes 2).
She uses the staircase as a metaphor of her life journeys. As a result, her life hasn t always been
polished, gentle, or has it been effortless. Thus, she is telling her son life for him won t always be ideal
or steady. She states that her life It s had tacks in it, and splinters (Hughes 3 4). She is representing the
rough times in her life, including the misery and heartaches. Tacks and splinters she shows some of
life her troubles that where short and long term pains. Like the tacks, the pain might have stung for
short period, but where quickly healed. The splinters represent wounds that took time to heal which

France s Bill Of Rights Document Analysis
Freedom and justice are what England s Bill of Rights, France s Declaration of Rights for Men, and
America s Bill of Right all have in common. All three countries did not like the rules or leaders at the
time thus, revolutions against them occurred. Then, these documents were created because people
wanted change. The first of the three is England s Bill of Rights which inspired America s Declaration
of Independence, which lead to France s Declaration of Right for Men. Furthermore, I will explain the
contents of each document, how all three documents relate to one another, and which of these I would

Essay about Aspects of Probation
There are times when almost everyone wonders exactly what the purpose of probation is, what kinds
of conditions can be imposed if someone is put on probation, and what roles the probation officer and
the court systems play in the scheme of things. If you know someone that is on probation it may not
hurt to know a little bit about the way it works and that is exactly what we will be talking about here.
Probation is one of the least restrictive penalties among the alternatives confronting a sentencing
judge. Probation is the conditional release of an individual by the court after he has been found guilty
of the crime charged. In the case of probation then, the individual has not been sentenced to prison,
although he may, in fact, have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The crime for which the person was arrested isn t dramatized and used as a reason for disrupting the
rhythm of his life.
The number of conditions that a judge can impose upon a person on probation is amazing and there
are some that make some of us wonder how they can actually make a person live a life that is not
theirs. There are many conditions of probation that a judge or a probation officer can impose upon the
probationer. Some of the conditions that can be imposed include: supporting his dependents and
meeting any other family needs, paying a fine or making restitution to the victim of the crime that was
committed, keeping a job if they have a suitable one and if not training for or getting one that is
suitable.
There are some conditions that are imposed because of the offense that the probationer was found
guilty of, for instance, refrain from engaging in a specific occupation, business, or profession bearing
a reasonably direct relationship to the conduct constituting the offense, or engage in such a specified
occupation, business, or profession only to a stated degree or under stated circumstances; refrain from
frequenting specified kinds of places or from associating unnecessarily with specified persons.
In a lot of cases conditions imposed include refraining from the excessive use of alcohol, or use of any
narcotic drug or other controlled substance without a prescription from a licensed

Notes On Inflation, Aggregate Demand And Supply
Task 8: Inflation, aggregate demand supply
Pass Questions
Q2)
CPI
The CPI is an economic, measurable tool that was developed utilizing the costs of a specimen of
delegate things whose costs are gathered occasionally. Sub records and sub sub files are figured for
various classes and sub classifications of products and administrations, being joined to deliver the
general file with weights mirroring their shares in the aggregate of the buyer uses secured by the list.
The yearly rate change in a CPI is utilized as a measure of expansion.
Weaknesses of CPI
1. The CIP calculations are based on a single, generic market basket of goods, which is inappropriate
as the basket varies from individual to individual.
2. Fails to acknowledge changes or improvements in quality.
3. It doesn t take into account effects of the substitution effect. Due to this, the CPI overstates
inflation, when consumers choose to substitute one good for another after its price becomes cheaper
than the good they normally buy.
4. New products bias ABS updates the market basket of goods that used to figure CPI roughly every
five years and the items presented between these upgrades are not included in the market basket and
those items cost increases are not included in CPI.
5. Outlet bias People will probably purchase items from Internet and discount stores yet ABS gathers
value measurements from traditional full price retail stores.

  • 2. Ant-Colony Analysis Paper In this paper we will find solution using ant colony optimization. This process is based on probability technique to find results of computational problem. It is a set of software agents called artificial ants to find solution to a given problem. When ACO is applied then problem is changed into the problem of finding the best way on the weighted graph. The artificial ants will increasingly build the solution path via traversing through the whole graph. The solution is biased by the pheromone model that includes the set of parameters linked with graph components whose values are changed at the runtime by ants. Travelling Salesman problem was the first problem on which ant colony optimization technique were applied. The behaviour of artificial ants is same as real ants. Ant deposit a substance on the ground called pheromone while walking from the ant colony to the food and at backtracking also. At the time of getting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It includes 15 cost factors, 63data points, actual effort and actual size. Data Cleaning: The dataset consist of set project number and effort multipliers which further is segmented into a set of 15 parameters, development effort and line of code. Relevant information will be fetched from the initial dataset and dataset will be converted into a subset which will help us to get relevant results. Family Systems Theory Vs Family System Theory I think that the Family System Theory and the Ecological System Theory are two important basic beliefs about children, families, and family involvement. The system in the family system theory is a system of people connected together and if one part isn t working things fall apart. The elements that make up The Family System Theory are structures, rules, and boundaries. Structures have to deal with behavioral patterns that are repeated made by the family. Rules are used to agree and deal with situations. Each family has certain rules that are self regulating and work for certain families. Boundaries are special rules that govern the interactions between subsystems in the family. It helps families function well. In order to understand a student, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. L Oreal Company Analysis One of the biggest names in the make up industry is L Oreal. L Oreal runs a massive worldwide operation employing nearly 62,000 men and women of various races, backgrounds and religions across nearly 60 countries. Part of the reason for the corporation s success has been its sensitivity not only to its consumers but also to each and every one of its employees. The corporation has made sure that all their employees have opportunities to develop themselves both personally and professionally. This commitment by the corporation to take care of their own employees has resulted in L Oreal being rated by the European business school students as The Employer of Choice for the year 2006 (L Oreal Corporation, n.d.). With over a century of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, there are also other notable weaknesses applicable to L Oreal. Another weakness point is the existence of false claims in advertising. In May of 2007, L Oreal was ordered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration of Australia to retract their claims on the wrinkle removing capabilities of their products (Anti Aging Wrinkle Creams are a Rip Off). Opportunities One of the areas of opportunity for L Oreal is its increased supply of ecologically and environmentally friendly ingredients. L Oreal can increase their supply of ecologically and environmentally friendly ingredients by furthering their Sustainability Assessment Framework and working even more closely with current and new suppliers to address predetermined concerns (L Oreal Corporation, n.d.). Another point of opportunity for the company is to increase its sales of its Active Cosmetics product line. For 2006 alone, The Active Cosmetics product line of L Oreal made up 7.5% in total revenue for the corporation. L Oreal has recognized the growth in demand for active cosmetics, that is why the corporation has been acquiring companies in the active cosmetics line. By increasing their marketing and product line up for active cosmetics, L Oreal can reach a wider range of consumers (L Oreal Corporation, n.d.). A third area of opportunity for L Oreal is that it could work on purchasing of more successful cosmetics companies. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Native Americans And Africans In The European And Spanish... The Calamity of Native Americans and Africans in the European and Spanish Colonization The European Colonization of the Americas is described as the foundation and settlement of the Americas by different European powers. Although the European Colonization of the Americas can be portrayed as a success. Nevertheless, it is a calamity because many Native Americans were tortured or killed with military force, and African individuals were enslaved and killed to create a new world . Not only did the colonist kill Native Indians and Africans, but also took their freedom and religion away. When the Spanish colonist landed on the shore of the Americas, military force was used to conquer and establish land. Bartolomé de las Casas, a Spanish missionary and historian, advocated and exposed the cruelty against Native Americans. Las Casas main goal was to persuade the Spanish to stop the torture of indigenous people. In the document, A Brief Account of the Destruction of the Indies, Las Casas explains, Those that arriv d at these Islands from the remotest parts of Spain, and who pride themselves in the Name of Christians, steer d Two courses principally, in order to the Exptirpation, and Exterminting of this People from the face of the Earth (A Brief Account of the Destruction of the Indies). • 6. What Was The Underlying Cause Of World War I Dbq It all began with an assassination,by a Serbian nationalist on June 28, 1914 in the Balkans. The Archduke of Austria Hungary was shot and killed in his own vehicle, which sparked war between Russia and Germany and the alliances that went along with it. The Allies consisted of France, Great Britain, Russia, The United States and Italy, while The Central Powers consisted of Austria Hungary, Germany the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. The underlying cause of World War I consisted of three reasons, Militarism and Alliances as well as Imperialism being the most important. One underlying cause of World War I was Militarism. In 1890 Germany and Austria Hungary spent together about 40 million pounds, and in 1914 increased their spending to 150 million pounds (Doc C). As well as that Great Britain, Russia and France spent 100 million pounds and increased spending to 225 million pounds (Doc C). This shows that a buildup of arms was an important underlying reason for the war. In a speech before the German Congress Bernhard von Bulow spoke about how worried he is about England, France and Russia based on their acquiring of colonies around the world and how he does not want to Step on the toes of any foreign power (Doc ... This cartoon reveals that alliances just made the war bigger and more complicated. The war began between two countries and alliance systems brought in multiple outside countries into the war to support and protect the alliance that they were in. This evidence supports the claim that the Alliance system was an underlying cause of the war because of how easy it was for a war between two people to turn into one between ... • 7. Photography Is Not Just About Taking Simple Photographs In this generation people tend to take their photographs on their phones instead of hiring a professional photographer to take them. Photography is not just about taking simple photographs. Professional photographers need to understand the concept of what makes the best photographs. Photographers must use lighting, different equipment, different types of photographs, and specific subject matter to create unique photographs as well as how to finish and edit them. The beginning of photography was in 1826, when Nicephore Niepce produced the first permanent photograph using a camera obscura. Three years later in 1829, Louis Daguerre joined partnership with Nicephore Niepce ( Ted s Photographics The Fundamental Principles of Photography Explained. ). In 1839, years after the death of Nicephore Niepce, Louis Daguerre became the first photographer to use silver iodide coated plates and a small box to take a photograph (Careers in Focus 101). Motion photographs were made in 1877 using a series of still photographs to create the illusion of motion. In 1889, Thomas Edison developed the first single unit motion picture camera; standards that are still used today (Careers in Focus, 25). Many professional photographers use different type of equipment: cameras, lenses, and accessories. Many photographers use different cameras and lenses depending on the type of photograph they re going to take. Many photographers use the 35mm SLR (single lens reflect) camera. • 9. The Properties Of Soft Multi Sets Abstract In this paper we define some properties of soft multi sets. We also define soft multi set topology, its interior exterior, boundary and their properties. We establish several important results in mathematical modeling of spacial objects using fuzzy soft interior, fuzzy soft exterior, fuzzy soft boundary. Keywords Fuzzy Sets, Soft Sets, Multi Sets, Fuzzy Topology. I. INTRODUCTION (Heading 1) We may have to face vagueness in most of the engineering, physics, computer sciences, economics, social sciences, environmental science and medical sciences problems. These may be due to the uncertainties of natural environmental phenomena, incompleteness of human knowledge about the real world or due to the limitations of the means and methods used to take measurements. We can see vagueness or uncertainty when we decide the boundary between the continents or between different seas, when the growth rate of population in a country s rural area is determined or when we make decisions using database information. In all these cases classical set theory, which is based on crisp concept will not furnish the exact information. The mathematical ideas like probability theory, fuzzy sets [12], rough sets [10] are well known as effective models for dealing with such uncertainties. However, each of them has distinguished advantages as well as certain limitations. Fuzzy sets fail to parameterize a value. Molodtsov [7] introduced a completely new approach for modeling vagueness and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It can be made with waste products which help to reduce the consumption of valuable materials. There are the several types of concrete floor styles that can be stamped, stained and polished. But the choice for the employee locker room will be a polished concrete floor. For my opinion, polished floor will be suitable because it is economical, durable, versatile, affordable, low maintenance and is a long lasting floor as show in figure 1 (Ref.1). Biodiesel As AAlternative Fuel Source CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils, used cooking oils, and animal fats by the production process called trans esterification to convert those mixtures to the chemicals which have long chain mono alkyl esters or fatty acid methyl esters which can be used as fuel for vehicles. Approximately, 100 pounds of vegetable oil react with 10 pounds of alcohol (commonly methanol) in the presence of a catalyst, sodium hydroxide; later, 100 pounds of biodiesel and 10 pounds of glycerol (co product) can be produced. In Malaysia, many oil palm industries generate excess crude palm oil for large quantities for consumption. Palm oil is one of the four leading vegetable oils for business on the world market where it is sold with cheaper price than soya bean oil to reduce the overhead cost of biodiesel production. Costing and Pricing Decisions Running head: COSTING AND PRICING DECISIONS Costing and Pricing Decisions Cost Allocations Cost allocation is the process of assigning the indirect costs of producing a product. These indirect costs may be shared by multiple products. This is where cost allocation comes into play. Indirect costs can be allocated to products, services and departments. Cost allocation allows a company to calculate fully cost of their products. This provides them the ability to price products accurately. Three common costs that need to be considered when allocating costs include joint costs, sunk costs and opportunity costs (Jiambalvo, 2007). Joint Costs When at least two products come out of a common input they are considered joint products. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This helps to avoid making decisions based on sunk costs. A third way to avoid the sunk cost effect that Roberto, 2009 writes about is to take a look at the assumptions being made and discover is they are reality. There are assumptions being made about the company s ability to recover lost project. Taking a look at these assumptions and determining if they are actually accurate assumptions or just optimism about something that is not possible. The last way Roberto, 2009 writes about to avoid making decisions based on sunk costs is to determine the opportunity costs of continuing with the project instead of ending it. Making decisions based on sunk costs can lead a company to making poor financial decisions and in turn have an effect on being able to price their future products appropriately. Opportunity Costs An opportunity cost is a cost that is caused by making one choice over another. An example of this would be if you purchased season tickets to the Ravens with your tax return instead of paying your credit card off with the money. The interest that you continue to pay on your credit card as a result of not paying it off with your tax return would be considered the opportunity cost (Jiambalvo, 2007). • 17. Self Regulation And Effective Learning Essay Much research has shown the necessity for students to learn the behaviors that make up self regulation to learn successfully and be most effective in their personal and professional lives. Self regulation refers to one s ability to monitor their own behaviors, assess those behaviors based on their own standards, and provide punishments and reinforcements for those behaviors accordingly. In the experience of these authors, students increasingly enter classes lacking essential behaviors necessary for self regulation and effective learning. Instructors must first understand self regulation and how it affects the learning process, as well as provide students the necessary tools to achieve self regulation; however, these authors believe the path to self regulation begins from the first moment of contact with students. A classroom environment in which students feel comfortable, clearly understand expectations and receive timely responses allows students to gain confidence and trust the instructor. This type of environment sets the tone for the instructor then to share, model and shape strategies in students leading to self regulation. Introduction Social learning theory introduced the crucial concept of self regulation, which refers to the ability to monitor one s own behavior, judge the behavior based on one s own standards, and institute consequences of reinforcement or punishment. The fragility of the Toyota Prius, in comparison, reveals that the technology for hybrid cars are still in the infant stages, requiring attention to detail on the efficient electric engine. Hybrid cars, such as the Toyota Prius and the Honda Insight, offer two engines instead of one, a fuel efficient gas engine and an electric engine that produces no emissions. So, when the moment comes and a joke is said, not only is the listener s voice unleashing sounds, but their minds are releasing thoughts and questions. The question also begs us to consider when we laugh, with whom, at whom, at what, and why (Carter and Villaverde, 104). In nuclear fission, nuclei of fuel atoms are split by bombarding them with neutrons to produces a chain reaction. Within nuclear reactors, neutrons are released to hit fuel or uranium 235 atoms. • 27. People Conform To The Environment In Malcolm Gladwell s... The general argument made by author Malcolm Gladwell in his work, Power of Context, is that people conform to their environment. More specifically, Gladwell argues that environment is what controls how and why a person reacts to a certain situation. He writes, The Broken Windows Theory. In this passage, Gladwell is suggesting that if ones community is poor then people will tend to make poor decisions. In conclusion, Gladwell s belief is that little tipping points will slowly and effectively change the environment they live in. I believe, The Broken Windows theory plays an enormous role in the environment around oneself. Due to the fact that the train station choose to clean every single one of the carts that came through and placing security guards at stations to not allow people to sneak into the trains. By doing these things, this did not manipulate the on goers that saw this but it allowed everyone to see how to be a role model. These little things that the Gunn and William Bratton choose to do set the community up for excellence rather than failure. Gladwell states that if Goetz would have met up with the four young black men in a different place the shooting most likely would not have taken place. Because the train station was treated like trash Goetz first off had the feeling beforehand to carry a gun onto the train. By paying attention to such little details such as the graffiti it could change the mindset of many of the hoodlums around. Malcom says that Gunn drew up a new management structure and a precise set of goals and timetables aimed at cleaning the systems line by line, train by train. He started with the number seven train that connects Queens to midtown Manhattan, and began experimenting with new techniques to clean off the paint. He also states that Gunn is going to be religious about cleaning every train. Gladwell believes that human behavior is more fully formed due to the community around. If the people around you are committing crimes, then you are tempted to do the exact same thing. Gladwell states, It says that crime is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The relationship in general contains two different personalities. Emma is one who believes that she can create the perfect couple , which gives her the belief of knowing everything . George Knightley is more of a moral compass for Emma, and he usually displays his approval and disapproval of her actions. Before the relationship is examined; it would be insightful to reflect on the social context that the text is set in like the system of patriarchy, and the expectation of women from certain wealthy families. The Elizabethan era was marked by the rule of Queen Elizabeth I (1558 1603). This era in English history has often been regarded as a golden age of the time. This was due to ideas of national pride, many reforms in areas of society, and the use of theatre alongside William Shakespeare (1564 1616). During that time, he became the ruler of much of Mesopotamia, which had an estimated population of 1,000,000 people. Hammurabi was no normal King, in his 38th year he made a set of 282 laws which he called a code, this code was the most complete set of laws any ruler of Mesopotamia had ever made. He had engraved these laws onto a stele. A stele is a clay tablet that has been written into by a sharpened reed. This writing form was called cuneiform. He created this code to bring order and fairness to all. There has been a debate over the years about whether his code is just or not. In my opinion, Hammurabi s code was just because of its family law, its property law, and its personal injury law. Hammurabi s code was just becuase of it s family law. One reason is because there is proof that the Shamash, the god of Justice gave him these laws. When archeologist first discovered the stele in which the code was written upon, they found that there was a carving at the top that was a picture of Shamash on his throne, feeding Hammurabi his ancient laws. • 34. Techniques In The Film Bowling For Columbine Intro: Good Afternoon, It was the morning of April 20th, 1999. And it was pretty much like any other morning in America. The farmers did his chores, the milkman made his deliveries, the president bombed another country whose name we could not pronounce. Out in Fargo, North Dakota, Carry McWilliams went on his morning walk. Back in Michigan, Mr. Hughes welcomes his students for another day at school. And out in a little town in Colorado, two boys went bowling at six in the morning. Yes, it was a typical day in the United States of America. (Narrator 2002) In the documentary Bowling For Columbine the director, Michael Moore uses a variety of techniques to position the audience to accept the dominant reading that America is gun crazy and a violent history begets violence. Paragraph 1: The film begins with a representative of the national rifle association talking about the film. This automatically puts the audience into a position to think about guns. The film techniques in this film are used to help tell a story and to re enforce the argument to help get a certain response from the audience. The documentary Bowling For Columbine uses the techniques such as cartoons, music choice, and interviews with people that were involved in the mass shooting. This is to help convey the message of America s gun crazy and has a violent history begets violence. How does the conflict(s) affect the theme of the story? Conflict and Its Influence on the Themes in All the Years of her Life The idea of Conflict is an extremely complex one and is vividly evident in the short story All the years of her life by Morley Callaghan. It is important to define the term Conflict , as defined by the Oxford Dictionary Be incompatible or at a variance; clash ( Conflict Definition of Conflict in English | Oxford Dictionaries ). The theme of realization and resolution is again developed from the conflict that the protagonist had faced in her life, the realization she has after dealing with all her conflicts as she reflects on the table. • 37. A Study On The And Properties Of Aluminium Alloys CHAPTER 3 LITERATURE REVIEW 3.1 Introduction The Al Zn Mg series aluminium alloys (7xxx) are the heat treatable alloys and widely applied as large structural components in navigation and transportation facilities, due to good combination of hardness, high strength and fracture toughness [1 6]. The use of Sc (scandium) to achieve grain refinement has recently received great attention. The microstructures and properties of aluminium alloys are strongly affected by adding small quantities of scandium. Scandium additions in excess of 0.55wt.% (i.e., hypereutectic) are very effective in grain refinement, suggesting that the primary ScAl3 phase serves as an effective grain nucleant [7 9]. The effect of a Sc addition will of course depend on the composition of the alloy. The additions of Sc in aluminium alloy appear to reduce hot tearing and shrinkage porosity. Hot shortness increase with increase in Zn but decrease with increase in Mg content [10, 11]. The process of precipitation in the Al Zn Mg alloy system is quite complex. The aged structure and the kinetics of ageing depend on both the Zn and Mg concentration and the temperatures of solution and ageing treatments. As the Sc contents increases within the specified solubility in the solid solution, the grains virtually do not disintegrate. The maximum solubility of scandium increases from 0.35 to 0.6 wt.% [12, 13]. When the amount of scandium exceeds the eutectic content and, consequently, there appear primary particles of ... A cell is the smallest unit of an organism and is the building block of all living things. Key life processes of a cell All living things including cells have some life processes in common. There are seven processes that they need to preform to be classed alive. These are: 1) Movement all living things have movement including plants 2) Respiration the process of getting energy from food 3) Sensitivity this allows the living thing to detect changes in the surroundings 4) Growth all living things grow 5) Reproduction to reproduce and make more living things of the same type 6) Excretion getting rid of waste product 7) Nutrition taking in and using food Viruses are not known as living like cells as living things require nutrition and viruses do not. A virus is not live; it is unable to absorb nutrients, produce or excrete waste; so viruses attach themselves to living organism known as a host to survive and gain the nutrition they need. They also need the host to be able to move and reproduce as they unable to do this alone. Viruses have to inject its viral DNA into the host cell it has invaded in order to get the host to reproduce for it. At an early age, Artemisia displayed her interest in art and it wasn t long until her father noticed potential in his daughter enough that she would be able to make a name for herself in the male dominated career. Artemisia had the desire to follow in her father s footsteps, it was then that Orazio encouraged her to follow her dreams and decided to begin training her as an artist. After collaborating on a project with the painter Agostino Tassi, Orazio hired him to tutor Artemisia on perspective due to his skills with landscape. During one of their lessons, Tassi took advantage of Artemisia and raped her. In their time, if a woman was raped, the man who was responsible had to marry her. I find it odd knowing that back then it was considered normal for a man to rape a woman that he wanted to be with and marrying her after. Sounds to me like women had no choice, no say on who they wanted to be in relationship with. Sadly, in many cases the men who committed the rape would flee from the situation to avoid getting married after getting what they wanted. Even though the women weren t at fault, if unmarried women weren t virgins they were seen as tainted, or no good for another man. After the incident had occurred, Tassi had ... The Factors Of The French Resistance In World War II The French Resistance The French Resistance was a collection of resistance groups that fought against Nazi Germany and its puppet state of Vichy France. They were mainly comprised of men and women who fought the Nazis through sabotage, ambushes, and hit and run tactics; disrupting power grids, transport lines, and telecommunications. In addition to guerilla warfare, they also published underground newspapers, collected intelligence, and helped Allied soldiers trapped behind enemy lines to escape. Furthermore, they also played a large role in Operation Overlord (invasion of northern France) and Operation Dragoon (invasion of southern France) by providing the Allies with locations of Nazi fortifications and defenses. The French Resistance was extremely crucial to winning World War II and saving the lives of Allied soldiers. The surrender of France to the Nazis in June of 1940 was a major blow to French nationalism. Many believed the government had let the people down by fleeing Paris and through the creation of Vichy France, a French puppet government supported by the Nazis. The assurance by the French government that the Maginot Line was more than strong enough to resist a Nazi attack was of course, proved false. Both speakers of the poems are parents who are passing on valuable advice to their children. The speaker in the poem Mother to Son tells her son some of the battles she s gone threw in life. She s giving her son the lesson that life isn t always the easiest but to always keep going forward and to stay positive about life. On the other hand, the poem Advice to my Son is advising his son to balance the beauties of life and to be careful because it s not always easy. In the world today, relationships are vital to get by the hardships the world gives us every day. One of the best relationships people will ever have is the relations with their parents. They might be unaware of it until they mature, but parent child relations are always extraordinary. Communication, respect, and safety are very important for parent child relationships. A parent should always tell their child to live life and have fun. In the poem, Advice to My Son, the author states, but, son, always serves wine. (Meinke 22). In this poem the father tells his son that life is short, and he should live it day by day, but always plan ahead. The most important thing he tells his son is to always have fun, no matter what he is doing. Also, a parent should know when it is time to let their child to soar and be more independent. On the other hand, the poem Mother to Son states Life for me ain t been no crystal stair (Hughes 2). She uses the staircase as a metaphor of her life journeys. As a result, her life hasn t always been polished, gentle, or has it been effortless. Thus, she is telling her son life for him won t always be ideal or steady.
