Burning Pelt Analysis
Tashi Delek, Tashi Delek, Tashi Delek translated to good luck and cheers is screamed and heard
throughout the otherwise quiet and peaceful Tibetan plateau. Chanted as lines, and rows of pelts are to
be burned in the name of various reasons; from the request of the Dalai Lama in environmentalism
and nationalism, but to contest the west. In the 1990 s fine pelts were such a fashion trend, a symbol
for wealth and stature, not only in Tibet, but in exotic areas around the world. Although the pelts itself
were illegal and is the sale of it across borders it was still done. The acquisition of the pelts were not
done illegally however, rather, it was through hard work and determination that the Tibetans bought
their pelts. It was worn rarely and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

never wear it? Donate it to monasteries and keep in the family as a means to create income? And why
not give to the poor in order to provide warmth? (Yeh). In conclusion Yeh shows the readers her
insight in it, the immorality the People s Republic of China (PRC) is infringing upon the Tibetan

than a warm up of harbinger for the main natural events to come (Yeh). Burnings of a different kind
swept across the plateau countless acts of self immolation (Yeh) much like the self immolation of
Mohamed Bouazizi which sparked the Arab Spring, this had the same effect and occurred first. The
selfless acts of self immolation of these young men sparked a series of protests against the PRC to

Criticism Of Snow White
If the mirror is interpreted as the symbol of a husband, it might explain the literal absence of the King
in the story (Barzilai, 1990). It is possible that the Queen is fighting for the attention of her husband.
The growth of Snow White to become a more beautiful female than her mother means the end of an
era for the Queen. She is no longer a youthful lady, but a mother of a grown up daughter. It is very
common in patriarchal societies to view woman as mothers after a certain age. Giving birth resonates
with a distorted body image. Mothers carry the marks of birth giving and breastfeeding on their
bodies. They transform from a state of seductiveness to a mother. Their role is reduced to a domestic
caretaker for the children. It represents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we apply this view to the story of Snow White, we can see how Queen is made to be an evil
female character. Before Snow White was born, the Queen did not have diabolic characteristics in the
text. She was a woman peacefully dreaming about having a beautiful daughter. She did not gain the
evil features attributed to her until after Snow White came to a certain age. At that point, Snow White
was declared as the new beauty by the mirror. In other words, patriarchal forces placed her crown on
her daughter. On the other hand, Gilbert and Gubar s view that the monster and the angel might be in
the same body, mean that the Queen and Snow White are one and the same personality. It might be
interpreted that the patriarchal system breaks them apart instead of letting them live in harmony in the
same house. When the whole breaks apart, one of them takes the monstrous side and the other one
takes the angelic side forming a binary

Abstract The paper here presents the model of a walking stick that alerts visually challenged people
over obstacles by use of electronic sensors and controllers. Very few of the navigation aids available
for visually challenged people can provide dynamic navigation and which work perfectly for day to
day navigation requirements (The white cane and walk dogs are not safe for today s increasing traffic
and insensitive world). This model here demonstrates a system concept to provide an electronic aid for
blind people which would benefit the challenged person for his daily travelling, whether it be indoors
or outdoors. The aim of system is to provide a sense of artificial vision by alerting the subject about
the environmental scenario of static and dynamic objects around them. In this system, an ultrasonic
sensor, an atmega16 controller, a buzzer and a vibration motor is used.
Index Terms Ultrasonic sensor, Walking Stick, Vibration Motor, Sound Buzzer, Atmega16

Comparing John Stuart Mill s The Subjection of Women and Florence Nightingale s Cassandra
For thousands of years, women have struggled under the domination of men. In a great many societies
around the world, men hold the power and women have to fight for their roles as equals in these
patriarchal societies. Florence Nightingale wrote about such a society in her piece, Cassandra, and
John Stuart Mill wrote further on the subject in his essay The Subjection of Women. These two pieces
explore the same basic idea, but there are differences as well. While they both recognize its presence,
Mill blames the subjection of women on custom, and Nightingale blames it on society. These appear
to be different arguments, but they may be more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He feels that because women have been in this position for so many years, it would feel irregular to
deviate from it. The subjection of women to men being a universal custom, any departure from it quite
naturally appears unnatural (Mill 1157). As he continues, he reveals his thoughts on the matter to the
reader: this relic of the past is discordant with the future, and must necessarily disappear (Mill 1159).
Mill explores many aspects of the issue. He attempts to uncover the differences between the sexes to
provide maybe another solution to the problem, but to no avail, nothing final can be known (Mill
1162); nothing is as strongly stated as when he places the blame on custom. Later in his essay, while
exploring the systems of past societies, he comes to the same conclusion as earlier. Only this time, he
states that there has been some improvement in the system as time went by; however, equality has not
yet been reached. He believes that the small increase in power over time is enough to suggest that
equality is the solution: Through all...human history, the condition of women has been approaching
nearer to equality with men. This does not itself prove that the assimilation must go on to complete
equality; but it assuredly affords some presumption that such is the case (Mill 1160). This quote is yet
another contribution to the blame of custom. In the past, societies lacked equality

Summary Of Helen In Sappho s Odyssey And Helen
Faith Butler

Title
Homer is a legendary writer who is foreshadowed by many other writers in his work. While most
agree with and follow in Homers footsteps, there are also those who deliberately see and do things in a
dissimilar way. This can be presented by the use of the character, Helen, in the Odyssey and in Sappho
s Fragment 16. Homer and Sappho use Helen in their stories in conflicting ways to differentiate epic
and lyric poetry while also expressing different ideas and perspectives.
In both the Odyssey and Sappho s Fragment 16, Homer and Sappho speak of and acknowledge Helens
beauty. Though, they do so in different ways. In the Odyssey, Homer compares Helen to that of a
goddess using Artemis as an example. Although homer describes her beauty in a positive light, he also
claims that Helens attractiveness caused the Trojan war and the death and suffering of many. when all
you Achaeans fought at Troy, launching your headlong battles just for my sake, shameless whore that I
was (160). Therefore in the Odyssey, Helen is depicted as an intricate character. In epic poems, this is
a trend that can be seen throughout the reading as the writing style goes into greater detail. One can
also conclude that Homer tends to focus on the negative and emphasize war.
In fragments 16, Sappho claims that mortals cannot compare to the beauty of Helen. Sappho remains
simple and to the point with her description of Helen. Unlike Homer, Sappho claims that the cause of

I Taste A Liquor Never Brewed
I Taste a Liquor Never Brewed Emily Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830, in Amherst,
Massachusetts, she left school as a teenager. She remained her entire life in Amherst, in her family s
house. She never married although, in some of her well known poems she mentioned that she is
getting married and spending wild nights with her lover. Also, she suffered from epilepsy disease and
that is why she never left her family s house for many years except few times to consult a doctor for
her illness.
Emily Dickinson adores nature. No, truly, she adores nature so much that she prescribes it. I taste a
liquor never brewed is a poem from numerous nature themed poems in Dickinson s group of works.

Sex Offender Essay
Sexual offenses, typically conducted with minors, are crimes when a person commits a crime
involving a sexual act. Prevention strategies for sexual offending behavior have become increasingly
important in the United States. The Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA)
provides a comprehensive set of minimum standards for sex offender registration and notification in
the United States. It aims to close potential gaps and loopholes that existed under prior law and
generally strengthens the nationwide network of sex offender registration and notification programs.
California was the first state to pass the Sex Offender registration Law in 1946.

Specialized supervision usually involves specifically trained probation and parole officers who
manage caseloads of sexual offenders using specific supervision strategies that include special
conditions of supervision, multidisciplinary collaboration with a treatment provider, and the use of
global positioning systems, GPS, and polygraph. Studies of California high risk sex offenders on
parole found that those placed on GPS monitoring had lower recidivism rates than those who received
traditional supervision. 516 high risk parolees who had been released from prison between January
2006 and March 2009 were studied. Half of the parolees wore GPS monitoring devices and received
traditional parole supervision, this involved regular contact by parole agents and weekly sex offender
treatment classes. The other half received only traditional parole supervision. Researchers tracked
each parolee for one year following his initial parole date. The research showed that the members of
the traditional group committed new crimes and had their parole revoked more often than did parolees
in the GPS group. If that wasn t enough, the traditional group returned to custody at a rate 38 percent
higher than the GPS group. The cost analysis showed that in California, monitoring parolees using
GPS costs approximately $35.96 a day per person, while the cost of traditional supervision is about

Iago Is Evil Essay
In the play Othello, Iago is automatically labelled as evil for being the villain, but what if he is
something more? A psychopath is defined as someone who lacks a sense of morality with an antisocial
personality disorder, such as one that has established into a corrupt and/or criminal character (The
American Heritage). In the Bible, manipulation is defined as an evil characteristic trait (Marx 24 25);
meaning Iago has some evil but is he pure evil? What if he is just a man driven by power to gain more
than just the lieutenant position or he is a mixture of all these? The class of characters Iago belongs to
is common to Shakespeare, they have great intellectual activity and seem to misperceive the practical
distinctions of right and wrong (Bloom 432). Throughout the play Iago manipulates everyone into
doing his bidding without them knowing and shows no remorse in the end. His lack of morality
appears when he continues to plan to drive Othello mad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However power can change someone for better or for worse, in Iago s case it would be for worse.
When someone realizes their own capabilities they get a surge of power, too much power can lead to
doing more than intended just because that person has the authourity to do as much as they want. Iago
learned how much in control he was in Act I, Scene iii, The Moor is open and straightforward. He
thinks any man who seems honest is honest. People like that are easy to manipulate. So it s all
decided. I ve worked it out. With a little help from the devil, I ll bring this monstrous plan to success.
(Shakespeare). So just because Iago knew Othello was easy to manipulate he decided to go ahead and
take his original plan a step further and get basically anything he wants. If it was not for Cassio s
survival Iago would have been the ruler of Cyprus and/or Venice, no one would have known about
Iago s plan or

The Argument For The Existence Of God
My paper scrutinizes numerous logical disputes for and alongside the presence of God. I shall argue
that there s no adequate evidence or inclusive arguments for the existence of God. It is grounded on
the views of certain great philosophers and scientists of all of mankind.
Generally speaking for myself, I would correspond to have faith that there is God . Regrettably, it s
awfully well defined that the being built up on insightful faith is no longer a suitable custom to
shadow. During the course, I expected to learn some type of proof with the intention of upholding a
course of the belief in a God implanted in me by my parents. Sadly, this wasn t the case. It could have
been fine if the ontological, theological, or cosmological argument could have related itself to the
experimental world with a God outside this world, but they are unable too. The ontological argument
failed because it was only a misleading piece of terms that couldn t prolong into actuality. The
teleological argument expressed unsupported inferences from similarities of experiential remark and
materialists supplied other possibilities that are reasonably legal. The cosmological argument failed as
well since it not once understandably argued the making of the universe. There are many amazing
individuals who ve consumed an immense sum of time in studying the Bible. Brilliant philosophers
like Plato, Paley, Socrates, Descartes, Aristotle, have made arguments whether god truly exists. We
must understand

The American Dream and the Roaring Twenties
The 1920 s was knows as the Roaring Twenties or the Jazz Age because of all the dramatic political
and social change, more people lived in cities rather than farms, and the nation s wealth doubled
between 1920 and 1929. There were many new technological innovations and many factors that made
the United States the place to be to find the American Dream . The 1920 s were known as the Roaring

of all the different things happening in the time period. The 1920 s in the United States, called roaring
because of the different and new types of popular culture coming into the style that decade ( Roaring
Twenties ). The movie industry skyrocketed in the 1920s with the growth of theaters being built
downtown and in Hollywood. Silent films gradually came to be replaced by talkies , which were films
that had sound, in the late 20s. Some more innovations are; visual art and architecture, radio, music,
dance, fashion, literature, and intellectual movements. There were many more innovations that made
the 1920 s Roaring but one of the biggest changes was the automobile. The 1920 s were known as the
Roaring Twenties or The Jazz Age continued. The Roaring Twenties was a time when many people

Benefits Of A Flower Garden
People who have backyards tend to take a great amount of time deciding what to do with all the extra
space in their yards. One good investment is to cultivate a backyard garden. However, deciding on
what to grow in it is another decision. This article will help you choose what type of garden to grow in
your backyard.
Flower Garden. Proponents of flower gardens argue that flowers make their backyard more
aesthetically valuable. A well planned and organized flower garden will make any backyard filled with
intense colors and scents.
Flower gardens will easily attract pollinators such as butterflies, bees and birds which will add to the
natural beauty of your backyard. When it is well planned, you can have a backyard that is blooming
with flowers throughout the year. Having a flower garden will also ensure that flower vases inside
your home are always filled with beautiful flowers that can make any day, even the gloomy days,

Vegetables do not have the most attractive flowers to attract birds, bees and butterflies. To make sure
that these pollinators find your vegetable plants, have flowers with high nectar content planted along

sunflowers, cosmos and zinnias are ideal for attracting pollinators.
* For Attracting Beneficial Insects. If you are like most people nowadays, you will want to opt for
organic foods. This means that you want foods that are free from synthetic pesticides. Attracting

Killing Is Wrong
Killing another person is always wrong, but in some situations it is justified. If a person is left for dead
suffering with no chance of dying do you let him die slowly and painfully? Or do do you end the
persons suffering as quickly and painlessly as possible. And if it s an option of ten people dying or one
hundred then there is an obvious choice people would take. Another place killing is justified is if there
is nothing you can do to stop a person from killing another person. Because who has more of a right to
live somebody who was hellbent on trying to kill another person or somebody who was merely trying
to protect himself. There are situations although there are few, that taking another person s life is

Society In Dead Poets Society
Society is a group of individuals, characterized by a common interest whether it be religious,
scientific, or political interests. Individuals are the building blocks of society. Individuals as human
beings are social creatures who have a need to be in close quarters with other humans. Despite
individuals being part of a society due to a common interest, they may experience issues regarding
conflicting views that will affect their overall happiness thus affecting the efficiency at which society
is functioning. For that reason, it is the duty of society to teach the individuals that reside in it to live
their lives to the fullest, to think for themselves, as well as standing up for what they believe is right.
One of the duties of society owes to individuals is to teach them how to live their lives to the fullest.
In the film Dead Poet s Society, Mr. Keating says, They re (boys in old picture) not that different from
you... you can hear them whispering their legacy... carpe diem. Seize the day boys, make your life
extraordinary (Weir). Before this point in the film, the boys in Mr. Keating s class were never told to
live their life to the fullest. They have always done what their parents wanted of them. They have
never stood up against authority and taken their lives back. When Mr. Keating says this, he fulfills the
societal duty of teaching individuals to live life to the fullest by telling them directly to do so. While

Monument Dbq
Monuments are structures that give importance to an event, person, or place. They are designed not
only to remind people of the past, but to stir emotions in their viewer. To make them truly
monumental, monuments have many factors to consider in creation. Monuments should be well
thought out in terms of placement, motive for building, and design. In order for a monument to get a
greater value of importance the placement of the monument is crucial. The placement of a monument
is not only important because of how populated a place is but also the relation between the place and
the monument. Even the smallest consideration to detail can make a difference in the awe a monument

To pay tribute to one of Maine s most popular industries, the state commissioned a bronze sculpture of

hardships before finally ending up in Washington DC. (Source F) The Maine lobsterman s first
setback was when it was being created. Maine s fund for the monument ran out of money before it

My Experience Of My Vacation
Before taking my last vacation, I was almost convinced that affordability and excitement could not
exist in the same sentence in today s economy. After several failed attempts of planning for an
inexpensive getaway, I decided to store the idea in the compartments of my mind. Nevertheless, the
opportunity presented itself six months ago in the form of an invitation. That s right! I was finally
going to get the mini vacation I was in search of, with all the bells and whistles in one package. The
invitation was extended to me, through Dimples and Diamonds empowerment group for women,
based out of Savannah, Georgia. Dimples and Diamonds had a weekend retreat planned for the last
week in September 2017 at Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head
Island. The island is located off the coastal region of South Carolina where it is known for it s rich
Gullah Geechee culture and recreational areas. The Sonesta reminded me of a huge burrito with
everything you wanted wrapped into one bite for our pleasure. The resort at Hilton Head offered an
economical and comfortable stay; as well as a broad array of activities for a group or an individual of
any age group. Sonesta presented a few packages for comfort and pleasure, that made planning a stay
for the weekend like a cake walk. The prices ranged from $250 per night individually or $135 per
night for groups. I chose the group package because I was traveling with a group of four. After taxes
and security fees were applied, the total cost was $450 for a three day weekend. The customer service
representative also informed me of additional discounts and rewards that could be used if we resided
at the resort. That wasn t a bad deal after all since the security fees were credited back to your account
after you checked out of the resort. The overall customer service experience was one that should go
down in the books. If you are one that pride yourself in great customer service; like myself, you could
not help but notice the small gestures of courtesy that the staff showed upon arrival and upon
departure. The atmosphere was welcoming with exceptional greeters. The aroma from various
restaurants and savory smells of the Gullah cuisine filled the air, accompanied by filtered water

Summary Of This Boy s Life By Tobias Wolff
The memoir, This Boy s Life, by Tobias Wolff is about a boy fighting an internal battle between bad
behavior and good morale; at the end of the book Toby becomes a good boy, but has many bumps in
his journey. For example, when Toby and his mother move into Dwight s house, he doesn t tell his
mother that Dwight is an abusive person. So when his mother was nearby Toby would lie and confirm
all his lying implications that we (Toby and Dwight) were pals and our life together was a good one
(99, Wolff). Toby kept quiet about the violence because he thinks that his mother is happy with
Dwight and he doesn t want to mess up their relationship. Secondly, when Toby is sent off to live at
the farm, he siphones gas from the Welch s car. Just afterwards,

Analysis Of Orson Welles And Herman Mankiewicz
Citizen Kane figures in one of the most influential, and greatest filmography works of all time.
However, the making of its fame was rather rough. Orson Welles and Herman Mankiewicz were the
screenwriters for this movie, Welles was the leading director; therefore, he had the final saying in the
contributions to the movie. Both writers worked separately when developing the story, only having the
main character defined: Charles Foster Kane it is pertinent to say that I think Foster is supposed to be
ironic considering his morose childhood . Welles had a rough childhood, which is portrayed in the
film, since he came from a broken home and lost his hardworking mother when he was nine. The
origins of Kane s personality is sort of like a mixture between allusions to Welles miserable childhood
due to his parents divorce, and later the death of his mother in his first ten years of life; and also an
exposé of William Hearst s life. Hearst is arguably one of the most influential American journalists
and main contributor of the creation of yellow journalism basically, headlines with information that
had almost no support for its claimings . Kane s character is mainly built out of these two pivotal
events, hence his childhood, passion for yellow journalism, and obsession with power over papers.
The category for this film is called film à clef, and just like roman à clef for novels, this means that the
work is describing real life situations, or characters are minimally changed

ground access operations sufficient to meet the current and future demand. Airport planners and
managers at SMF have effectively applied the modus operandi of terminal and ground access
operations. SMF s master plan reveals the impending future facilities that will expediently process the
upcoming volumes of airport visitors well into 2020 and beyond (Master, 2004).
The Sacramento County Airport System has been successful at maintaining a balanced economic,
political, and social climate at SMF. The continuous engagement from the airport s management with
the community that it serves, its tenants, suppliers, and service providers is evident. The community

How Did The Cpr Affect Canada
The Impact of the CPR on the development of Canada The Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) is the
transcontinental railway which caused a dynamic impact in the development of Canada. From
building towns, increasing the economy value, and providing Canada a faster mode of transportation.
The CPR s original purpose was to convince British Columbia to join confederation as the First prime
minster John A. Macdonald, promised. However, early on in the process of building this railway
Macdonald ran into some financial issues, as a result caused a political scandal involving the CPR.
The pacific scandal, the name of this scandal, revolved around Macdonald, Sir Hugh Allan, a
financially wealthy industrialist, and the CPR s future. Due to Macdonald s, political campaigning

Mackenzie, also disagreed with the construction of the railway but he did allow the Canadian Pacific
Survey to continue to survey possible routes the railway could take. After Mackenzie s term in office
was over Macdonald won the elections once again and began searching for the CPR s backers, which
he eventually did. The backers were actually three private investors whom became to to known as The
CPR Syndicate, moreover they also had monopoly on all rail tariffs west of Lake Superior for the next
ten years. As soon as their contract was approved the CPR Syndicate altered the railway s original
route and moved it around 300 kilometers south, into the southern prairies which in turn gave the CPR
more control of how the area would develop, though because of this unforeseen change of plans, the
Canadian Pacific Survey had then become irrelevant. Constructing the CPR had then proved to be
quite a hassle for it was not going well, along with the its snail like progress. To confront this
dilemma, the CPR Syndicate hired William Van Horne with hopes that he would transform the CPR s
dire situation, in fact Van Horne exceeded their

Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me she
uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of thinking about
the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory, Boyce expresses
how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She states that scholars are
intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her main critique comes from
the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro American male scholars in order to
establish them within their field. Under this standard what we find is that in the constant referencing
of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy of western society is sustained. Boyce
suggests that common favoring of European scholarly contributions reinforces structural biases
towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a result, western epistemology continues to
drive current scholarship through its standardization. And, moreover, European theory is falsely
applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The standardization of European scholarship places
limitations on how the marginal subject can articulate its existence. Barbara Christian s The Race for
Theory asks For whom are we doing what we are doing when we do literary criticism? Davies would
respond to this query by stating that current scholarship is written to and for the center. Based

Women Of The Buddhist Societies
In Buddhist societies, women were seen as inferior to men. They were marginalized in early Buddhist
societies and had many limitations placed on their spiritual enlightenment. They were not permitted to
become bodhisattvas and forced to instead become nuns. They were also looked down upon because
of their strong attachments to worldly things. Although they were marginalized, women still felt a
strong spiritual bond to the religion that it was worth the discrimination to obtain the spiritual gain
from the Buddhist society. Seeing these problems of how women were viewed and treated we might
question in what ways were they marginalized socially in early Buddhist societies? In terms of
marginalization, we might look at many different forms, but for the purpose of this paper we are going
to focus on social marginalization. This typically means that women were mistreated and looked down
upon because of their gender. In what follows we will briefly look at a few scholarly articles in
support of the claim that women were marginalized socially in early Buddhist societies. We are going
to look at not only the practices of Buddhist societies but also the beliefs and how the beliefs related to
the practices. We are going to focus on the views in Buddhism from around six BCE throughout the
first century. In Charles Keyes article Mother or Mistress but Never a Monk, Keys summarizes how
women were viewed as less than men because of their attachments left to the world, so

You ll also need to bring all your own tools to remove the parts you ll need. If you bring power tools,
be sure they have enough battery power since you probably won t be able to hook into electricity.
Also, you probably won t be allowed to use a cutting torch, so bring a crowbar so you can get inside a
wrecked hood if you need to. When you enter the yard, you ll probably see a list of prices for any part
you might need. It doesn t matter if you need a door handle for a luxury car or one for a budget car,
the price will be the same for any door handle. If you can find the part you need and it is in good
shape, you can save a significant amount of money.
You ll have a better chance of finding the part you need if you re working on a common car rather than
a unique sports or luxury car. If you do have a special car, be sure to call ahead to find out if the scrap
yard even has any cars of that model. Once you get to the yard, you ll be allowed to walk through the
cars, find the model you need, and remove the part you want. Then you take it to the checkout lane
and pay for it. Be sure to take plenty of cash because the yard may not accept checks or credit

Adversity In Titus Andronicus
In both Titus Andronicus and Richard II the protagonist must face adversity and prove to their
respective enemies that they have not been defeated. Titus is put in a position where he made a deal
that was broken and Richard has been robbed of his title as king from Bolingbroke. Both characters
use their metaphors when speaking to prove to everyone that they are still powerful when their pride
has been stolen from them.
In Act III Scene I, Titus Andronicus cuts off his hand because he made a deal to exchange his hand for
his sons Quintus and Martius who were framed for the murder of Bassianus (III. 1. 266 287). Aaron in
a later scene states, I trained thy brethren to that guileful hole where the dead corpse of Bassianus lay,
(V. 1. 106 107). A messenger then enters with the heads of Quintus and Martius because the deal was
abandoned. This causes Titus to make a speech about how this action will make him stronger and not
break him. Titus begins by describing his tears after he receives the heads of his sons. He says I have
not another tear to shed, (III. 1. 266) and that he hopes his eyes will make his enemies blind with
tributary tears, (III. 1. 269). Tears typically represent defeat and self pity so Titus refuses to cry. He
has lost many sons and Lavinia is physically broken so his family has experienced a large amount of
pain. The tears that Titus speaks of will blind his enemies as a tribute. This tribute is to all of Titus s
children that have suffered and he

Examples Of Superego In The Dark Night
Film has been able to translate these examples through their main characters and their behaviour. For
example, in the movie The Dark Night (Nolan, 2008) , the Ego is represented by Batman (Bruce
Wayne) who wants to keep order even if his methods are questionable by others. The Joker represents
the Id; he is determined to show that all people are selfish monsters inside out. Harvey Dent, who
remains over evil and chaos, looking for justice, would represent the Super Ego. Roy Scheider as
police Chief Brody will try to protect the citizens of Amity. A similar example can be found in the
movie Jaws (Spielberg, 1975). The Superego is represented by Hooper, who in order to hunt sharks
adopts a methodical and rational approach. Quin represents the Id, prone to anger, grudges and
vendettas. Brody, who acts as a mediator between Hooper and Quin, would represent the Ego. The Id
is completely controlled by the pleasure principle , which is continuously searching to release the
tension caused by any given process by the avoidance of pain and the production of pleasure (Freud,
1975). Freud explains that kid s Id controls the great majority of their behaviour. They look to satisfy
urges such as food and water as a way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

his phallus, resurfaces this fear. The camera that he uses to espy on his neighbours acts as a substitute

This refers to the pleasure of looking without being acknowledged. Freud considers this to be a regular
instinct in childhood. Voyeurism and the male gaze were central elements of this tendency and they
can be both appreciated in Rear Window , where everything is told from the masculine point of view
in a position of power, because he watches without being

Time as an Industry
Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. For years this is the image that has been associated with Timex
watches dependable, reliable, almost indestructible. Timex s (www.timex.com) advertising was
closely associated with the Timex image. The advertising campaign featured different attempts to
destroy Timex watches that failed to stop the Timex from ticking. One memorable ad showed a Timex
watch strapped to the propeller of a motor boat before being driven across the lake. The dripping
watch was proudly displayed as the second hand swept past the face of the watch.

Additionally, Timex made a major change in its advertising strategy. Watch companies traditionally
focused their advertising campaigns in the spring and fall. In what industry executives called a first,
Timex began advertising continuously throughout the year. As a result, in 1993 Timex unit sales rose
about 30 percent, with more than half the increase attributed to Indiglo.
Given its success, it is not surprising that Timex continued to put almost its entire advertising budget
into campaigns for Indiglo in 1994. And the Indiglo is HOT. Timex was fortunate enough to get some
impressive testimonials from customers who rolled in along with sales. These stories provided some
fascinating material for potential ad campaigns. Consider the following:
* A man led a group of people down 34 unlit flights of stairs in the bombed World Trade Center in
New York City by the light of an Indiglo. * A Los Angeles couple lit their way to safety after an
earthquake with an Indiglo watch. * Four people clung to a capsized fishing boat overnight, comforted
by the reassuring blue beam of a Timex lndiglo.
The Indiglo technology is making ho hum Timex kind of hip . In fact, earlier attempts to upscale the
product line and develop more fashionable products were hampered by perceptions that the products
have got a $12.95 name on them.
Currently, Timex has 20 to 30 watch styles with

evidence, claim, and reasoning. The Benefits of Shale gas uses relevant evidence to support his topic.
Mostly in the article, he talks about what shale gas is. It says things such as Shale gas is a type of
natural gas found under a Shale rock. That has nothing to do with the benefits of it.It talks about this

  • 2. Burning Pelt Analysis Tashi Delek, Tashi Delek, Tashi Delek translated to good luck and cheers is screamed and heard throughout the otherwise quiet and peaceful Tibetan plateau. Chanted as lines, and rows of pelts are to be burned in the name of various reasons; from the request of the Dalai Lama in environmentalism and nationalism, but to contest the west. In the 1990 s fine pelts were such a fashion trend, a symbol for wealth and stature, not only in Tibet, but in exotic areas around the world. Although the pelts itself were illegal and is the sale of it across borders it was still done. The acquisition of the pelts were not done illegally however, rather, it was through hard work and determination that the Tibetans bought their pelts. It was worn rarely and ... Donate it to monasteries and keep in the family as a means to create income? And why not give to the poor in order to provide warmth? (Yeh). In conclusion Yeh shows the readers her insight in it, the immorality the People s Republic of China (PRC) is infringing upon the Tibetan identity, due to this further protests occurred, and the burnings have been interpreted as little more than a warm up of harbinger for the main natural events to come (Yeh). Burnings of a different kind swept across the plateau countless acts of self immolation (Yeh) much like the self immolation of Mohamed Bouazizi which sparked the Arab Spring, this had the same effect and occurred first. • 3. Criticism Of Snow White If the mirror is interpreted as the symbol of a husband, it might explain the literal absence of the King in the story (Barzilai, 1990). It is possible that the Queen is fighting for the attention of her husband. The growth of Snow White to become a more beautiful female than her mother means the end of an era for the Queen. She is no longer a youthful lady, but a mother of a grown up daughter. It is very common in patriarchal societies to view woman as mothers after a certain age. Giving birth resonates with a distorted body image. Mothers carry the marks of birth giving and breastfeeding on their bodies. They transform from a state of seductiveness to a mother. Their role is reduced to a domestic caretaker for the children. It represents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When we apply this view to the story of Snow White, we can see how Queen is made to be an evil female character. Before Snow White was born, the Queen did not have diabolic characteristics in the text. She was a woman peacefully dreaming about having a beautiful daughter. She did not gain the evil features attributed to her until after Snow White came to a certain age. At that point, Snow White was declared as the new beauty by the mirror. In other words, patriarchal forces placed her crown on her daughter. On the other hand, Gilbert and Gubar s view that the monster and the angel might be in the same body, mean that the Queen and Snow White are one and the same personality. It might be interpreted that the patriarchal system breaks them apart instead of letting them live in harmony in the same house. When the whole breaks apart, one of them takes the monstrous side and the other one takes the angelic side forming a binary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Very few of the navigation aids available for visually challenged people can provide dynamic navigation and which work perfectly for day to day navigation requirements (The white cane and walk dogs are not safe for today s increasing traffic and insensitive world). This model here demonstrates a system concept to provide an electronic aid for blind people which would benefit the challenged person for his daily travelling, whether it be indoors or outdoors. The aim of system is to provide a sense of artificial vision by alerting the subject about the environmental scenario of static and dynamic objects around them. In this system, an ultrasonic sensor, an atmega16 controller, a buzzer and a vibration motor is used. Index Terms Ultrasonic sensor, Walking Stick, Vibration Motor, Sound Buzzer, Atmega16 I. • 5. Comparing John Stuart Mill s The Subjection of Women and... Comparing John Stuart Mill s The Subjection of Women and Florence Nightingale s Cassandra For thousands of years, women have struggled under the domination of men. In a great many societies around the world, men hold the power and women have to fight for their roles as equals in these patriarchal societies. Florence Nightingale wrote about such a society in her piece, Cassandra, and John Stuart Mill wrote further on the subject in his essay The Subjection of Women. These two pieces explore the same basic idea, but there are differences as well. While they both recognize its presence, Mill blames the subjection of women on custom, and Nightingale blames it on society. These appear to be different arguments, but they may be more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He feels that because women have been in this position for so many years, it would feel irregular to deviate from it. The subjection of women to men being a universal custom, any departure from it quite naturally appears unnatural (Mill 1157). As he continues, he reveals his thoughts on the matter to the reader: this relic of the past is discordant with the future, and must necessarily disappear (Mill 1159). Mill explores many aspects of the issue. He attempts to uncover the differences between the sexes to provide maybe another solution to the problem, but to no avail, nothing final can be known (Mill 1162); nothing is as strongly stated as when he places the blame on custom. Later in his essay, while exploring the systems of past societies, he comes to the same conclusion as earlier. Only this time, he states that there has been some improvement in the system as time went by; however, equality has not yet been reached. He believes that the small increase in power over time is enough to suggest that equality is the solution: Through all...human history, the condition of women has been approaching nearer to equality with men. This does not itself prove that the assimilation must go on to complete equality; but it assuredly affords some presumption that such is the case (Mill 1160). This quote is yet another contribution to the blame of custom. In the past, societies lacked equality ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Summary Of Helen In Sappho s Odyssey And Helen Faith Butler CLA October 3, 2017 Title Homer is a legendary writer who is foreshadowed by many other writers in his work. While most agree with and follow in Homers footsteps, there are also those who deliberately see and do things in a dissimilar way. This can be presented by the use of the character, Helen, in the Odyssey and in Sappho s Fragment 16. Homer and Sappho use Helen in their stories in conflicting ways to differentiate epic and lyric poetry while also expressing different ideas and perspectives. In both the Odyssey and Sappho s Fragment 16, Homer and Sappho speak of and acknowledge Helens beauty. Though, they do so in different ways. In the Odyssey, Homer compares Helen to that of a goddess using Artemis as an example. Although homer describes her beauty in a positive light, he also claims that Helens attractiveness caused the Trojan war and the death and suffering of many. when all you Achaeans fought at Troy, launching your headlong battles just for my sake, shameless whore that I was (160). Therefore in the Odyssey, Helen is depicted as an intricate character. In epic poems, this is a trend that can be seen throughout the reading as the writing style goes into greater detail. One can also conclude that Homer tends to focus on the negative and emphasize war. In fragments 16, Sappho claims that mortals cannot compare to the beauty of Helen. Sappho remains simple and to the point with her description of Helen. Unlike Homer, Sappho claims that the cause of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prevention strategies for sexual offending behavior have become increasingly important in the United States. The Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) provides a comprehensive set of minimum standards for sex offender registration and notification in the United States. It aims to close potential gaps and loopholes that existed under prior law and generally strengthens the nationwide network of sex offender registration and notification programs. Half of the parolees wore GPS monitoring devices and received traditional parole supervision, this involved regular contact by parole agents and weekly sex offender treatment classes. The other half received only traditional parole supervision. Researchers tracked each parolee for one year following his initial parole date. The research showed that the members of the traditional group committed new crimes and had their parole revoked more often than did parolees in the GPS group. If that wasn t enough, the traditional group returned to custody at a rate 38 percent higher than the GPS group. • 10. Iago Is Evil Essay In the play Othello, Iago is automatically labelled as evil for being the villain, but what if he is something more? A psychopath is defined as someone who lacks a sense of morality with an antisocial personality disorder, such as one that has established into a corrupt and/or criminal character (The American Heritage). In the Bible, manipulation is defined as an evil characteristic trait (Marx 24 25); meaning Iago has some evil but is he pure evil? What if he is just a man driven by power to gain more than just the lieutenant position or he is a mixture of all these? The class of characters Iago belongs to is common to Shakespeare, they have great intellectual activity and seem to misperceive the practical distinctions of right and wrong (Bloom 432). Throughout the play Iago manipulates everyone into doing his bidding without them knowing and shows no remorse in the end. His lack of morality appears when he continues to plan to drive Othello mad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However power can change someone for better or for worse, in Iago s case it would be for worse. When someone realizes their own capabilities they get a surge of power, too much power can lead to doing more than intended just because that person has the authourity to do as much as they want. Iago learned how much in control he was in Act I, Scene iii, The Moor is open and straightforward. He thinks any man who seems honest is honest. People like that are easy to manipulate. So it s all decided. I ve worked it out. With a little help from the devil, I ll bring this monstrous plan to success. (Shakespeare). So just because Iago knew Othello was easy to manipulate he decided to go ahead and take his original plan a step further and get basically anything he wants. • 11. The Argument For The Existence Of God My paper scrutinizes numerous logical disputes for and alongside the presence of God. I shall argue that there s no adequate evidence or inclusive arguments for the existence of God. It is grounded on the views of certain great philosophers and scientists of all of mankind. Generally speaking for myself, I would correspond to have faith that there is God . Regrettably, it s awfully well defined that the being built up on insightful faith is no longer a suitable custom to shadow. During the course, I expected to learn some type of proof with the intention of upholding a course of the belief in a God implanted in me by my parents. Sadly, this wasn t the case. It could have been fine if the ontological, theological, or cosmological argument could have related itself to the experimental world with a God outside this world, but they are unable too. The ontological argument failed because it was only a misleading piece of terms that couldn t prolong into actuality. The teleological argument expressed unsupported inferences from similarities of experiential remark and materialists supplied other possibilities that are reasonably legal. The cosmological argument failed as well since it not once understandably argued the making of the universe. • 17. The Omnivores D Ilemmam I was recently reading your book The Omnivores D(cite)ilemma when I came across a section about the farm at which I reside. I agree in that PolyFace Farm has the ability to change the way that many people see farming today. However, I noticed that you claimed that we, the pigs, are exploited by Joel Salatin. To me this seemed like an attempt to slight Joel Salatin even though he is trying very hard to create a successful sustainable farm. I participate in the holon so all of the work that I contribute will benefit me more in the long run. I am not exploited because all of the work that I put into the farm, voluntary or otherwise, enables the farm to support me with a more comfortable and enjoyable life. • 18. Society In Dead Poets Society Society is a group of individuals, characterized by a common interest whether it be religious, scientific, or political interests. Individuals are the building blocks of society. Individuals as human beings are social creatures who have a need to be in close quarters with other humans. Despite individuals being part of a society due to a common interest, they may experience issues regarding conflicting views that will affect their overall happiness thus affecting the efficiency at which society is functioning. For that reason, it is the duty of society to teach the individuals that reside in it to live their lives to the fullest, to think for themselves, as well as standing up for what they believe is right. One of the duties of society owes to individuals is to teach them how to live their lives to the fullest. In the film Dead Poet s Society, Mr. Keating says, They re (boys in old picture) not that different from you... you can hear them whispering their legacy... carpe diem. Seize the day boys, make your life extraordinary (Weir). Before this point in the film, the boys in Mr. Keating s class were never told to live their life to the fullest. They have always done what their parents wanted of them. They have never stood up against authority and taken their lives back. • 19. Monument Dbq Monuments are structures that give importance to an event, person, or place. They are designed not only to remind people of the past, but to stir emotions in their viewer. To make them truly monumental, monuments have many factors to consider in creation. Monuments should be well thought out in terms of placement, motive for building, and design. In order for a monument to get a greater value of importance the placement of the monument is crucial. The placement of a monument is not only important because of how populated a place is but also the relation between the place and the monument. (Source F) The Maine lobsterman s first setback was when it was being created. Maine s fund for the monument ran out of money before it was cast. As a result, the artist ended up painting bronze over plaster instead of casting the lobsterman in bronze. After the World s Fair no one seemed to want the Lobsterman. The fake monument wasn t valuable to anyone and so spent forty years homeless, being moved from place to place and ended up in a warehouse until he was saved by the Camp Fire Girls and finally cast in bronze. After several failed attempts of planning for an inexpensive getaway, I decided to store the idea in the compartments of my mind. Nevertheless, the opportunity presented itself six months ago in the form of an invitation. That s right! I was finally going to get the mini vacation I was in search of, with all the bells and whistles in one package. The invitation was extended to me, through Dimples and Diamonds empowerment group for women, based out of Savannah, Georgia. Dimples and Diamonds had a weekend retreat planned for the last week in September 2017 at Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island. The island is located off the coastal region of South Carolina where it is known for it s rich Gullah Geechee culture and recreational areas. The Sonesta reminded me of a huge burrito with everything you wanted wrapped into one bite for our pleasure. The resort at Hilton Head offered an economical and comfortable stay; as well as a broad array of activities for a group or an individual of any age group. Sonesta presented a few packages for comfort and pleasure, that made planning a stay for the weekend like a cake walk. The prices ranged from $250 per night individually or $135 per night for groups. I chose the group package because I was traveling with a group of four. After taxes and security fees were applied, the total cost was $450 for a three day weekend. The customer service representative also informed me of additional discounts and rewards that could be used if we resided at the resort. That wasn t a bad deal after all since the security fees were credited back to your account after you checked out of the resort. The overall customer service experience was one that should go down in the books. If you are one that pride yourself in great customer service; like myself, you could not help but notice the small gestures of courtesy that the staff showed upon arrival and upon departure. The atmosphere was welcoming with exceptional greeters. The aroma from various restaurants and savory smells of the Gullah cuisine filled the air, accompanied by filtered water ... However, the making of its fame was rather rough. Both writers worked separately when developing the story, only having the main character defined: Charles Foster Kane it is pertinent to say that I think Foster is supposed to be ironic considering his morose childhood . Welles had a rough childhood, which is portrayed in the film, since he came from a broken home and lost his hardworking mother when he was nine. The origins of Kane s personality is sort of like a mixture between allusions to Welles miserable childhood due to his parents divorce, and later the death of his mother in his first ten years of life; and also an exposé of William Hearst s life. Hearst is arguably one of the most influential American journalists and main contributor of the creation of yellow journalism basically, headlines with information that had almost no support for its claimings . Kane s character is mainly built out of these two pivotal events, hence his childhood, passion for yellow journalism, and obsession with power over papers. Caribbean American Women Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me she uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of thinking about the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory, Boyce expresses how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She states that scholars are intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her main critique comes from the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro American male scholars in order to establish them within their field. Under this standard what we find is that in the constant referencing of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy of western society is sustained. Boyce suggests that common favoring of European scholarly contributions reinforces structural biases towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a result, western epistemology continues to drive current scholarship through its standardization. And, moreover, European theory is falsely applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The standardization of European scholarship places limitations on how the marginal subject can articulate its existence. They were marginalized in early Buddhist societies and had many limitations placed on their spiritual enlightenment. They were not permitted to become bodhisattvas and forced to instead become nuns. Although they were marginalized, women still felt a strong spiritual bond to the religion that it was worth the discrimination to obtain the spiritual gain from the Buddhist society. Seeing these problems of how women were viewed and treated we might question in what ways were they marginalized socially in early Buddhist societies? In terms of marginalization, we might look at many different forms, but for the purpose of this paper we are going to focus on social marginalization. This typically means that women were mistreated and looked down upon because of their gender. Titus is put in a position where he made a deal that was broken and Richard has been robbed of his title as king from Bolingbroke. Both characters use their metaphors when speaking to prove to everyone that they are still powerful when their pride has been stolen from them. In Act III Scene I, Titus Andronicus cuts off his hand because he made a deal to exchange his hand for his sons Quintus and Martius who were framed for the murder of Bassianus (III. 1. 266 287). Aaron in a later scene states, I trained thy brethren to that guileful hole where the dead corpse of Bassianus lay, (V. 1. 106 107). Quin represents the Id, prone to anger, grudges and vendettas. Brody, who acts as a mediator between Hooper and Quin, would represent the Ego.
