Essay about The Full Effects of War
To some, war is a necessary evil. The United States has been involved in many wars since it s
founding in the late 1700 s and will in all probability continue to be involved in several more wars
throughout the continuation its future. The wars the United States have been involved in previously
and now currently a part of, results from a culmination of reasons (some necessary and others
unnecessary). Although war is not always a popular thing to become a part of, the full effects of the
war can t possibly be known and may never be known as long as the United States is a country.
Stephen Crane tells alludes to a few effects of war in his poem War is Kind . Physical handicaps,
mental handicaps, and family hardships, etc. among other dreadful ... Show more content on

Crane perpetuates this by stating Because your father... Raged at his breast, gulped and died (686).
Further, several other physical effects beg for US citizens to support the individuals. A few of these
conditions could possibly be; the loss of limbs, sight, hearing, etc. A writer for Aging and Mental
Health magazine states that in any traumatic war experience, malnutrition, immunological
deficiencies, and chronic infections lead to greatly increased mortality rates soon after the war and
over their lifetime (Davies 100). Further investigation would show an individual that these effects are
prominent throughout the world currently, even without war being the cause. Many underdeveloped
countries around the world currently have the aforementioned malnutrition and suffering. This
suffering will continue forever unless their countries develop to the point where these helpless people
can be taken care of. Hopefully the United States, supposedly being one of the most developed
countries in the world, can help returning wartime soldiers coming home from essential missions from
around the world with the physical aspects of the home life that they may no longer able to perform.
One way the United States can help out the soldiers returning with missing limbs, is by fitting them
with the limb or body parts that they have lost. According to Spc. Lorie Jewell from Soldiers
magazine; prosthetics are keeping soldiers in the

Exam 1 Essay

Exam 1 Essay Evolution has a long history of being debated as inappropriate to be taught in schools.
Many people feel that it is important to learn about Charles Darwin s Theory of Evolution, but at the
same time there are many who refuse to learn about it. In the Scopes Monkey Trial and in the movie
Inherit the Wind a trial is going on debating the legality of teaching evolution. Though there are still
issues that arise with teaching evolution it is currently accepted more than it is debated against.
Evolution is a scientifically tested and proven concept and should be taught in science classes. The
biggest argument against evolution is religion. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both cases the verdict was guilty. Both should have been found innocent not only does the United
States Constitution give citizens the right to freedom of speech but also directs in the separation of
church and state. This means that religion should not affect laws and court rulings. Teaching evolution
involves scientifically proven theory which means that people should learn about it and then can
proceed to make their own decision. Evolution is relative to the study of biological anthropology
because it explains how humans and todays primates have become what they are. It reveals
connections between the species as well. Genetically apes and humans are similar and this proves that
some million years ago humans and apes evolved from the same species. If learning about evolution
was outlawed then that would cut out a wide range of subjects humans can learn about themselves. By
analyzing all possibilities of the history of the world and how humans and other creatures came to be
where they are now people can create a brighter future. Schools today teach evolution as part of the
normal science curriculum. This is because today s society is not as religiously centered as the past.
People are more open about different religions and different religious practices. This is not to say that
all people are that way but the majority of people are open to learning about evolution. There are still
many people who do not believe in evolution and think

Ernest Hemingway Apathetic American Stereotypes
Apathetic Americans
Stereotypes have shaped the way people think about the World and everyone around them. They are
undeniably over exaggerated, but are based on a sliver of truth. For example, stereotypical Americans
are seen as rude, stupid, greedy, and very patriotic. In the case of Americans, Donald J. Trump is the
embodiment of the American stereotype. During his presidential campaign, Trump made many vulgar
remarks, and his goal was to make America great again. These American stereotypes are also apparent
in Ernest Hemingway s short stories, most notably in Cat in the Rain, The Short Happy Life of Francis
Macomber, and the interchapters of In Our Time. Hemingway s short stories portray Americans as
being insensitive to the World around them. Americans are insensitive through their insatiable greed,
emotional unawareness, and cultural disregard. Hemingway s Americans continual desire for more
alienates them from the rest of society, proving their lack of understanding for the world. In Cat in the
Rain, an American couple is vacationing in Italy. Instead of admiring the beauty of their surroundings,
the Americans instead focus on irrelevant trivial pursuits, illustrating their greed. After going down to
retrieve the cat, the wife is immediately attracted to the hotel owner, proving Americans ever evolving
want for new things: She liked the way he wanted to serve her. [...] She liked his old, heavy face and
big hands (Hemingway 130). Instead of staying loyal to her husband, the American wife forgets he
exists and moves on to the next best person she finds, showing the apathy Americans possess for what
they already have. Additionally, the hotel owner is simply doing his job, and the American wife s
failure to realize this results from her greed, which severely clouds her judgement. The greed
Americans possess is further proven with the American wife s childish behavior throughout the story.
When the wife cannot find the cat, she complains, I wanted it so much [...] I don t know why I wanted
it so much (130). Back in the hotel room, the wife demands to her husband that she want[s] to pull
[her] hair back, and to have a kitty to sit on [her] lap and purr when [she] stroke[s] her (131). The

Arkadia In Terms And Conditions
Following Lexa s death, The 100 completely focused on Arkadia in its latest episode. The episode
finally saw a major turn around of a certain character, while the resistance inside the camp continued
to fight against the dictator that is Charles Pike. Let s have a look at the main storylines of Terms and
Conditions . Bellamy And let s immediately start with Bellamy. Finally, the normal Bellamy seems to
be back. After two Grounders urged him at the beginning of the episode to choose the right side,
Bellamy reacted by shooting both dead and responding: I do that everyday . Throughout the episode, it
was made clear that Bellamy was still very much on Pike s side when he arrested Sinclair, attemped to
shut down the Grounder mutiny and stopped Kane from delivering Pike to the Grounders. It was in
that last moment that something changed in Bellamy. I will talk more about the relationship between
Kane and Bellamy in a bit, but it seemed that Kane had finally gotten through to Bellamy. When Pike
ordered Kane s execution, Bellamy finally saw the real threat inside the walls of Arkadia. I still ...

didn t know why Monty suddenly had a change of heart. Monty has also been a character I feel largely
indifferent about and, despite him joining Pike, continue to do so. That doesn t mean his actions in this
episode didn t frustrate me, but they frustrate me less than Bellamy s actions. I m glad Monty is back
to the good side, although his mother is suspicious of him. Speaking of Monty s mother, she is just as
bad as Pike and I d prefer her to die soon as well. Sorry Monty, you just got her back, but I want her to

Post Traumatic Stress Disorders In Vietnam Veterans
For those who served in Vietnam, the war left a major legacy. Due to the fact of Vietnam War being
unpopular, and unacknowledged, the veterans had to adjust to different consequences. Vietnam
veterans experienced physical, and psychological problems. Exposure to Agent Orange was a huge
issue, because of all the issues it caused. It had long term consequences, like the increase of the risk of
various types of cancer, and birth defects among the veterans children. A negative legacy the war left
on Vietnam veterans has been the health effects of Agent Orange and other herbicides used in
Vietnam. The exposure to the different kinds of chemicals caused them, and their family to develop
illnesses, and birth defects for their children. Of the veterans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some veterans experienced feelings of depression and distrust, and that the war impacted them
negatively. PTSD is a severe emotional disorder that an individual can get after a traumatic life event
they experienced, and for the veterans it was the Vietnam War. War includes witnessing terrible
violence, the feeling of guilt of having to kill people and seeing your friends injured or dead, and the
mixed emotions in the battlefield. In 1988, the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Study
reported that 481,000 men and 716 women currently suffer from some degree of PTSD as a result of
their experience in war, and overall 40% of Vietnam veterans have suffered from PTSD at some time
of their life. In addition, it has been estimated that 900,000 Vietnam spouses and partners, and
approximately 1,098,000 children are affected by their respective partner s and father s combat related
PTSD. These statistics showed that the Vietnam War extremely affected the veterans , and not in a
good way. PTSD could have been very common among the veterans , because of the traumatic
experiences they went through in the war. The war was not to be treated like a game. The war was a
reality for the soldiers, and they could have constantly had the feeling of I am going to die any minute
now . Another issue that they developed was domestic violence. About one third of six hundred men
were reported of physically violating their partners. Their violent behaviour towards their
partner/family could have also linked to PTSD. Veterans who were reported to perform domestic
violence were treated with therapy to help them reduce their threatening behaviour. They either had
group therapy with their family, or individual therapy. Not only was PTSD terrible for the veterans ,
but it was also bad for their children. Due to their children being raised in a home with their father
having PTSD, the disorder could have

Okonkwo s Obsession With His Father
Okonkwo is a character who has some positive traits but are greatly outweighed by his negative ones
including not being in control of his emotions and actions, constantly providing excuses for these
actions leaving him with no respect from me and an overall dislike. To start Okonkwo has an
obsession with his father. He was possessed by the fear of his father s contemptible life and shameful
life (Chapter 1) Unoka, his father was looked down upon by the village due to his laziness and
unsuccessfulness. In their village culture, Unoka could not have a proper burial due to his cause of
death and was shamed for it. However, this aside Unoka was incredibly caring, relaxed and was a very
good musician. Okonkwo who loathes his father, goes out of his way to avoid these traits. For
example he beats his wives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be said that Okonkwo was doomed from the start seeing as his father did not provide for him,
leaving him to fend for himself early on but for me it is another sad excuse for his inexcusable actions.
Despite these very negative traits, Okonkwo does possesses some positive ones. For instance he is
very hardworking. This is shown throughout the book especially during harvest and planting seasons.
However Okonkwo s hard work does not make up for the fact that he is not in control of his
passionate hate for his father and fear of becoming like Unoka, allowing it overcome him causing him
to physically hurting people in his life. I have no respect for Okonkwo seeing as his actions due to his
fear and hate of his father paired with his excuses are not something that should ever be respected or
even tolerated leaving me to dislike him

Six Branches of Philospy
Reflection of the Six Branches of Philosophy
Various branches of philosophy have always become great debates in society. Many have questioned
metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, political philosophy and social philosophy. The author
will discuss and reflect on the six branches of philosophy in which she will describe a time in her life
when she have asked similar questions. In addition, the author will discuss specific circumstances that
brought her to each of the questions and what conclusions she came about.

The common citizens helps electing political parties to help solve public issues which later links to
their government by classifying themselves as Democrats, Republican or Reform.
Social philosophy The author believes that society should be held under governing laws, which will
help protect the people in a bigger scheme of things. When a larger group is being protected it will
mean that people will have to give up a little of their rights. For example, after the 911 tragedy the
writer witnessed armed soldiers in the airport and also was pulled to the side and searched thoroughly.
At first, the author felt as if she was violated, but after boarding the airplane she felt really safe.
Although individuals give up some of their rights as citizens it serves as a means to decrease chaos in
our society. When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves
(Frankl, 2014).
Conclusion
In conclusion we end where we started philosophy can be divided into five branches which study the
existence, knowledge, action, force and art. The six branches each seek and question looking for
answers that have a relationship to what is the study of philosophy.

The Problems Of Long Distance Relationships
Long distance relationships occur because a person is away from his or her significant other for a
length of time. According to Lisa McKay, previously tried solutions for long distance relationships are
Skype dates and good communication. Long distance relationships are a large problem throughout the
United States with a significant failure rate, but the relationships succeed if each person in the
relationship is willing to make the relationship work until the two reunite. In the United States alone,
there are between 14,000,000 and 15,000,000 people in long distance relationships, and 4,500,000 of
those people are not married ( Long Distance Relationship Statistics ). People move away for
numerous reasons; they may want to see new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The best way to implement the solution is to maintain a good group of friends. Understanding friends
will offer support instead of always wanting to go out. In order to avoid becoming lonely, it is
important to maintain good relationships. Caring friends will understand if public fraternization costs
too much and will offer to do something fun at home instead. Another step is to video chat a few times
a week to keep in touch. Do not overdo it, because that makes both sides of the relationships bored
with the other. Other simple steps are to find movies to watch on TV and avoid spending unnecessary
money. The progress can be tracked by how well the relationship works. If each side expresses
happiness, then the solution is working; however, if the communication, or the lack of, leads to
unhappiness, then the solution is not working and an intervention is needed. A weakness in the
solution is that there may be long periods of time spent apart. Especially with college students, finding
the time to work and study is already hard enough, but finding the time and the money to travel is a
whole different story. The visits may be more spaced out that originally intended. Another obstacle is
that staying at home instead of going out requires extreme self discipline. When everyone else
entertains themselves at social events,

Jung The Collective Unconscious
The unconscious is an aspect of the human psyche that still baffles psychologist today. In our
unconscious, we potentially contain repressed memories, desires, and behaviors. The individual
unconsciously executes many of the behaviors or desires. However, there is more to the unconscious
than our personal memories and behaviors. Carl G. Jung, a psychologist, was one of Freud s friends
and student. Jung diverged from Freud because his perception that the unconscious mainly contains
repressed memories. Freud had his understanding of these instinctual behaviors, but mostly dismissed
the concept as insignificant. Although, Freud did not particularly accept the collective unconscious,

These fundamental images have lasted since the far reaches of time. The archetypal images are
concepts regarding nature, interpersonal relationships, religion, and a whole range of other aspects of
human society. For example, we all innately understand the concept of water. This is something that
we are not taught or trained to know and accept. Nevertheless, the idea of water in dreams and visions
has held meaning for men all throughout history. The individual may not be conscious of the
significance from water. Over the course of Jung s life, he studied thousands of dreams comparing and
contrasting their significances and found many common themes, like the concept of water. Now to be
clear the archetypal images are only representations of the inherent archetypes. These images are not
archetypes themselves; they are the experienced expression of the archetype. The archetype itself is an
inherited mode of psychic functioning analogous to inherited behavior patterns. (Sills, 1968)
Therefore, fairy tales and myths are representations of these innate modes of psychic functioning. Carl
Jung understood that we all have these archetypal images in our lives, but an individual can

Pros And Cons Of Synthetic
Pros and Cons of Synthetic Turf Fields Turf fields are shaping a better future for sports across the
entire nation and the world. Across the country, more and more sports facilities, high school athletic
complexes, etc. seem to be switching to synthetic turf fields. Artificial turf fields have become more
popular over the course of the 2nd half of the 20th Century till the present day. Since they have
become so popular, they have been studied closely to see what the differences are between them and
natural grass fields. And in the last few years, these sorts of fields have gained a lot of scrutiny for
their un healthy surface and the cost of installing them. But with any disadvantages comes some
advantages. Synthetic, athletic turf ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an article written by Bruce Fordyce, he interviews a person by the name of Cory Jenner, and they
stated, Financially speaking, artificial turf is more cost effective over time, although the initial
installation of a turf field is twice that of a natural grass field. Looking out 20 years, the cost per event
on a turf field is about $300, compared to $970 per event on a natural grass field. Although the
comparison here is being made is turf fields versus natural grass fields, the facts given are true for the
turf fields in that they are going to be a lot cheaper to be able to run after the initial field is built. And
once these fields are built, they can even be profited off because they can stay in great shape even after
being used a lot. These artificial fields are a lot easier to maintain then other fields are. For example,

A two dimensional digital image is a representation of an image as a set of digital values, called
pixels. Each pixel is associated to a specific position X_ij in the image and has an intensity value d
(X_ij ) with information about the color and intensity at the point〖 X〗_ij. An image of 8 bit is
usually stored as a matrix with integer entries between 0 and 255, where 0 is the weakest intensity and
255 is the strongest. Gray scale images are composed of shades of gray. Each pixel has a single value
that tells us intensity, varying from 0 corresponding to black and 255 corresponding to white. The
RGB color model is one possible model in which to represent a color image. Shades of red, green and
blue are combined create other colors. A pixel in color image then consists of three integer values
between 0 and 255. The values define the intensity of red, green and blue respectively. It is possible to

Filmmaking Personal Statement
Filmmaking is about not giving up, no matter how many times you are knocked to the ground. It is
about picking yourself up, brushing yourself down and moving onto the next hurdle with all your
effort possible. Yes, it is quite likely you will be knocked back again and again as the cycle continues.
But the most important thing about filmmaking is to not give up, to keep trying to achieve your dream
and make more of yourself, and therefore I have chosen to reapply to university, as I know that I am
capable of more and refuse to settle for the next best thing.
Currently I study Film and Media at Stirling University, but have not found the course to be creatively
challenging enough. As a practical learner, I find it much easier to learn on the job than be recited it in
lectures. However, I did enjoy my time learning about theorists and broader background context as
this is imperative to know to have a rounded film knowledge. ... Show more content on

History Of The New Terrorism
Intrinsically political grounded in an evolving historical context, in the last decades of the twentieth
century, terrorism has emerged as a new mode of conflict. Misinterpretations have led to the belief that
terrorism became more significant and increased in frequency since the end of the Cold War. In the
light of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, terrorism is said to have shifted in its aims and
methods over the last decades. Many contemporary studies on terrorism focus on the aspects of
terrorism before and after the attacks in the United States; and it is questioned if the political
motivations, the religious aspiration, and the use of weapons by terrorist groups in the 21st century has
shifted to become a new form of terrorism. But, how New is the New Terrorism? ... Show more

Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Personal Study Plan
This presentation will discuss key factors that impact planning personal study, such as strengths and
weaknesses. Also, this presentation will include how to access and locate resources in the Learning

because I work as an Auxiliary Nurse and I am required to work shifts. I have no standard shift pattern
and what I have to work varies on a weekly basis, this means that can cannot allocate certain days or
time for personal study as I may be working or travelling. Attendance may also have an impact on my
ability to study this is because at my work place there is no flexible working policy available. As well
as this my ward manager is unsupportive in allowing time off for attending the college based study or
changing shifts where needed. One factors that may have a negative effect on implementing an
effective study plan is finding time to seeing my family, friends and boyfriend. I usually help look
after my younger brother who has Asperger s once a week, so that my mam can get her planning for
work and shopping done more easily. I have chronic pain issues with my back and neck this can make

Codes of Ethics in Health Care Essay
Ethical Codes are in use today by many organizations to clearly establish their values and provide a

has now expanded and includes a variety of health care professions and health care organizations. The

ABSTRACT
This paper examines current marketing trends in the alcoholic beverages industry that can impact the
public s health and safety. It is important for public health organizations to be aware of trends common
to the industry; this will inform and bolster their efforts as watchdogs to manufacturers and retailers of
alcohol. The analysis describes the critical elements of the marketing mix, and makes a clear
distinction between advertising and marketing. Advertising is an important part of the marketing mix;
however, there are several other tactics and tools employed by marketers in the industry to influence
consumer behaviour and to build strong brands. The paper reviews current trends in the alcoholic
beverages industry generally, drawing specifically on some examples from the global beer industry. In
the fight to increase market share, marketers will alter their marketing strategies in response to
industry trends, seeking synergies that may exist between sponsorship and promotion. The paper

Process Of Dividing Body Cells And Their Nuclei Essay
Yahya Bello
Homework 1
Mitosis: can be defined as the process of dividing body cells and their nuclei. The body continually
produced new cells by splitting from the ones that has already existed.
Meiosis: can be defined as a particular form of cell splitting that generates reproductive cells, such as
sperm and egg cells, plant and fungal spores.
Steps involves in Mitosis
Mitosis consists of four basic phases and they include prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
Figure 1 shows the process that occurs in mitosis
During the early phase of prophase, the cells are able to be divided into some structures and also build
others up, this leads into setting the stage for their division of the chromosomes that is present. For the
chromosomes to be easily pulled apart later on they start o condense during this early stage. The
mitotic spindle then begins to form. This spindle is a structure that is made of microtubules, strong
fibers that are considered to be the part of the cell s skeleton. The purpose of the spindle is to organize
the chromosomes and to have the ability in moving them around during mitosis. The growth of the
spindle occurs between the centrosomes as they move apart

.
Once the early prophase has been completed then late prophase which can also be referred to as
prometaphase takes off. During the late prophase, mitotic spindle starts by

Write An Essay On Patriots
The Super Bowl is the biggest game of the year. This year s game will be an amazing one. The Eagles
will face the Patriots in a rematch of the Super Bowl 13 years ago. The Patriots are the favorite of
most, but the Eagles, after a breakout season, are going to give the defending champs all they can
handle. Here s why: Is there really much to say about the Patriots offense? They are the leaders in
offensive yards and the second highest scoring offense of the year (ESPN). They are led by the
transcendent quarterback Tom Brady and exemplary offensive mind Bill Belichick. On the other side,
the Eagles are led by Nick Foles and Doug Pederson. The Eagles are third in passing yards, fourth in

Despite the Cinderella Eagles offense, the Patriots are by far the better offense. On the other side of
the ball, the Eagles defense is their real strength. They are fourth in sacks, second in interceptions, and
third in fumble recoveries (ESPN). But these stats do not tell the whole story. The Eagles have the
ability to bottle up their opponents with their stifling defense. The Pats comparatively have had their
fair share of struggles on the defensive end, but have managed to pick up the play. They are second in
tackles, first in sacks, and fourth in forced fumbles (ESPN). The Patriots have a great front line, but
the weakness of this defense is in their secondary. The Patriots have a solid defense, but the Eagles all
around have the best defense in this game. So far, the teams have been shown to be very evenly
matched. The Pats offense matching up with the Eagles defense will balance out their advantages. This
game might come down to the play of their special teams. The Eagles have a solid unit as

The Conflict Of A Genocide
A genocide usually starts when people of one race or religion want to dispose of people of another
race or religion. The underlying causes of conflict, which result in acts of genocide, often have deep
historical roots. Stereotypes between groups develop over centuries. Ethnic and cultural differences
often result in the formation of in group and out group thinking. Members of different races, religions,
or cultures start to view each other as separate, alien, and different. In many regions, members of these
different groups develop conflict prevention methods because they feel threatened. Relations begin to
degrade because of this feeling of threat. This leads one group to become convinced that many of the
problems they face are the other groups fault. One group then begins to believe that all their problems
would be resolved if the other group no longer existed. A desire to exterminate the other group arises
because coexistence and power sharing are not considered to be options. The group committing the
crimes will believe that extermination is justified. This then leads to the violent acts of genocide.

The Soul In Socrates s Apology

How Does Coyotito Cause Destruction In The Pearl
The Pearl by John Steinbeck, tells the story of Kino, a man who finds a precious pearl and hopes to
sell it to help his family. However, it corrupts him and tears his life apart. In the beginning, Kino,
Juana, and Coyotito, his wife, and son are simple people who see their life as a song. Once they
discover the Pearl of the World, Kino and Juana become more vulnerable and start prioritizing over
family. This quickly leads to death and demolition, ruining the world Kino and Juana has lived in their
whole lives. This novella demonstrates how a presumed blessing can lead to overprotection and
destruction. In the beginning of the book, Kino, Juana and Coyotito are poor in material possessions,

Once his adrenaline rush clears Kino realizes something is wrong Tree frogs and cicada were silent

moaning, rising hysterical cry from the little cave in the side of the stone mountain, the cry of death

leave La Paz to preserve their freedom. The pearl has led them to a point where they don t have
anything to gain and everything to lose. Kino s boat has also been destroyed. His boat was a family
heirloom and his job, so losing his boat shows how Kino has completely lost his identity. Readers can
also infer that when Kino killed the trackers, it demonstrated how desperate Kino and Juana are. They
were forced to kill three men to keep the freedom they always took for granted. Coyotito s death was
the last straw. At that point, Kino and Juana lost any hope in selling the pearl and creating a better life
for themselves. Their lives were completely

Sudden and Violent Shifting of Tectonic Plates Cause...
Earthquakes are a natural phenomena caused by the violent and sudden shifting of plates along
tectonic boundaries. Movement of tectonic plates releases stored energy producing seismic waves,
which travel through the solid rock of the upper layers of the earth s crust. Earthquakes occur along
belts, circum Pacific or Alpine, located near the edges of tectonic plates. Energy released by the
interaction between two plates can produce severe damage to the surrounding environment.
Earthquakes occur along tectonic plate boundaries and fault lines. Movement of tectonic plates can be
associated with three different types of boundaries: divergent, convergent, and transform. The
lithosphere forms the outer most layer of the earth s crust, which over lays a hotter, softer layer called
the asthenosphere. A divergent boundary is located along a margin where two plates are moving away
from one another. As the two plates move away from one another magma flows up into the empty
space, and forms a new section of the ocean floor. The creation of a new sea floor along a divergent
boundary produces oceanic ridges. The best know example of this type of boundary is the mid Atlantic
ridge. Convergent boundaries occur in area s where two plates merge forcing the lithosphere below the
asthenosphere. Once the lithosphere is forced back down into the earth, it is melted and reused as
magma volcanic arcs. This type of boundary forms oceanic trenches. Transform boundary occurs
when two continental

Homeless Children in America
To be homeless is to not have a home or a permanent place of residence. Nationwide, there is
estimated to be 3.5 million people that are homeless, and roughly 1.35 million of them are children. It
is shown that homeless rates, which are the number of sheltered beds in a city divided by the cities
population, have tripled since the 1980 s (National Coalition for Homeless, 2014). Worldwide, it is
estimated that 100 million children live and work on the streets. Homeless children are more at risk

When it comes to homeless youth, an amazing 14% of girls aged 13 to 15 were pregnant since being
homeless (Kryder Coe, 1991). Sexually transmitted diseases are also seven to eight times more likely
to be contracted by homeless youth than normal youths. Alcohol and substance abuse, as well as
severe psychotic disorders, are somewhat common in homeless children, but almost nonexistent

Nineteenth Century Egypt
Nineteenth century Egypt held a pivotal stance in European politics and sparked high interest in the
Great European Powers. A dynasty of slave soldiers referred to as the Mamluks were of the earliest
rulers of Egypt. The French, Ottomans, and British all affirmed their intent on seizing the country s
bustling city capital of Cairo, with some conquests being more successful than others. France and
Britain stood as worthy leaders, but it was the basic political, social, and economical foundations
created by the Ottomans that most influenced nineteenth century Egypt. Nevertheless, each of these
world powers played a significant role in modernizing Egypt and shaping the course of its history. The
Mamluks held control of large parts of Egypt in the early eighteenth century. However, they were not
a unified force. Several Mamluk families fought for control for over a decade, and the final years of
Mamluk rule were absolutely catastrophic for Egypt. The endless fighting alongside the extremely
high taxes destroyed Egypt s trade, which was one of the first triggers of the French invasion.
Napoleon Bonaparte intended on protecting French trade interests and also using Egypt to weaken
Britain s access to India. With pride and arrogance he believed that Egypt was to benefit from the new
developments and institutions made possible by the French, just as had happened in their own
revolution. He expected the Egyptian population, who was suffering under Mamluk rule, to welcome

The Role Of The CIAAid In Afghanistan
The CIA has played a prominent role combating radical Islamic groups in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and
the Middle East since 1979. After the soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, the CIA even funded
some of these groups in order to embarrass their main enemy at the time, the Soviet Union. They did
not, however, account for the fallout that would occur after the Soviets left. To a certain extent, the
terrorist attacks on 9/11 were a blowback from CIA policies in that region, and the attacks, arguably,
could have been prevented.
Firstly, it is important to understand the reasoning for the United States to support the Afghani rebels,

Four Theories Of Aging Essay
Age is more than the number of years a person has lived. It is measured according to an individual s
physiological health, their psychological well bing, as well as sociologically and culturally.
Theories of Aging:
Disengagement: Gradual and mutual withdrawal of the elderly and society from each other is a natural
process. The elderly disengage so that new people can be phased in to replace them.
Activity: People continue at the level of activity that they had during their middle years. High levels of
activity do not necessary mean they will live longer but that they will have a high life satisfaction.
Conflict: The elderly compete with younger generations for jobs and resources.
Age Stratification: The elderly both affect and are affected by social change.
Modernization: In premodern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Interpersonal: Negative assumptions based on physical appearance of the individual.
The sandwich generation refers to adults who not only are caring for children but also find themselves
caring for their parents. There are two levels of care for the elderly, physical needs and instrumental
needs. Physical needs consist of such things as feeding, bathing, and toileting. Instrumental needs may
consist of grocery shopping, managing bank records, paying bills, etc.
Many issues are a concern for the elderly. Some of these include housing and health. Many senior
citizens own their home, but the upkeep and repairs may eventually be a problem as they continue to
get older. Good health care is vital. Alzheimers and dementia are major concerns for senior citizens.
The better their health, the more satisfied they are with their life. Elderly people can be successful in
the aging process.

Conclusion About Globalization
Globalization
Whenever I heard about the term globalization the first thing that comes in my mind is gravity. In my
humble opinion, the term globalization is just like gravity higher you go higher will be the gravity.
Same is the case with the notion of globalization as much as you can discover new facts and figures
more changes can be made. In this respect, from the current outlook of this modern world of affair, it
would not be wrong to say that globalization has become the most significant part in the lives of
human beings, as globalization has influenced nearly all facets of the contemporary world.
Globalization has approached in almost every sphere of life, from a kinder garden school to the
manufacturing to huge satellites, revolving around this earth. This is all because of the modern
advances and transformation that have been made through the technological means and scientific
revolutions.
In fact, due to the globalization, it would not be wrong to say that the world has gained a unique and

Fluid Mechanics 3-Aerofoil Lab Report Essay
Fluid Mechanics 3 Aerofoil Lab Report Introduction This report aims to investigate the effect the
angle of attack of an aerofoil has on the air flow around it. This was done by recording the lift and
drag forces the aerofoil experienced when positioned at different angles of attack. The experimental
lift force the aerofoil experienced when positioned at different angles of attack was then compared
with theoretical values. An attempt was made to explain any discrepancies between experimental and
theoretical values. Theory When air is blown over an aerofoil, it separates into two distinct sets of
streamlines above and below it separated by a dividing streamline. The shape of the aerofoil ... Show

The protractor of the aerofoil connected to the lift and drag voltmeters was then used to vary the
aerofoil s angle of attack from 0° to 20°. Lift and Drag voltage values measured for each angle were
recorded and calibration coefficients of 6.7 and 6.4 were used to obtain force Newton values for lift
and drag. The lift and drag forces obtained for each angle were then plugged into equations (3) and (4)
to obtain lift and drag coefficients. Equation (5) was used to calculate a theoretical value for the lift
coefficient. (3) A represents the area of the aerofoil (4) (5) The values obtained were then tabulated,
graphed and compared. The Reynolds number of this experiment was then calculated using equation
(4) where c is the length of the aerofoil chord and is the dynamic viscosity of air. (6) Results Equation
(6) was used to calculate the Reynolds Number which equated to 119366. Discussion The graph in
Figure 3 confirms the theory stating that as the angle of attack of an aerofoil increases, the lift force it
experiences also increases until it reaches stall position. The graph clearly shows the lift coefficient
steadily increasing with angle of attack. This is due to the fact that as that as angle of attack increases,
the point at which the airflow separates into streamlines going above and below the aerofoil moves
forward thus providing more lift force. Lift force continues to increase until the angle of attack reaches
13° marking the angle

  • 2. Essay about The Full Effects of War To some, war is a necessary evil. The United States has been involved in many wars since it s founding in the late 1700 s and will in all probability continue to be involved in several more wars throughout the continuation its future. The wars the United States have been involved in previously and now currently a part of, results from a culmination of reasons (some necessary and others unnecessary). Although war is not always a popular thing to become a part of, the full effects of the war can t possibly be known and may never be known as long as the United States is a country. Stephen Crane tells alludes to a few effects of war in his poem War is Kind . Physical handicaps, mental handicaps, and family hardships, etc. among other dreadful ... Further, several other physical effects beg for US citizens to support the individuals. A few of these conditions could possibly be; the loss of limbs, sight, hearing, etc. A writer for Aging and Mental Health magazine states that in any traumatic war experience, malnutrition, immunological deficiencies, and chronic infections lead to greatly increased mortality rates soon after the war and over their lifetime (Davies 100). Further investigation would show an individual that these effects are prominent throughout the world currently, even without war being the cause. Many underdeveloped countries around the world currently have the aforementioned malnutrition and suffering. This suffering will continue forever unless their countries develop to the point where these helpless people can be taken care of. Hopefully the United States, supposedly being one of the most developed countries in the world, can help returning wartime soldiers coming home from essential missions from around the world with the physical aspects of the home life that they may no longer able to perform. One way the United States can help out the soldiers returning with missing limbs, is by fitting them with the limb or body parts that they have lost. According to Spc. Many people feel that it is important to learn about Charles Darwin s Theory of Evolution, but at the same time there are many who refuse to learn about it. In the Scopes Monkey Trial and in the movie Inherit the Wind a trial is going on debating the legality of teaching evolution. Evolution is relative to the study of biological anthropology because it explains how humans and todays primates have become what they are. It reveals connections between the species as well. Genetically apes and humans are similar and this proves that some million years ago humans and apes evolved from the same species. If learning about evolution was outlawed then that would cut out a wide range of subjects humans can learn about themselves. By analyzing all possibilities of the history of the world and how humans and other creatures came to be where they are now people can create a brighter future. Schools today teach evolution as part of the normal science curriculum. This is because today s society is not as religiously centered as the past. • 7. Ernest Hemingway Apathetic American Stereotypes Apathetic Americans Stereotypes have shaped the way people think about the World and everyone around them. They are undeniably over exaggerated, but are based on a sliver of truth. For example, stereotypical Americans are seen as rude, stupid, greedy, and very patriotic. In the case of Americans, Donald J. Trump is the embodiment of the American stereotype. During his presidential campaign, Trump made many vulgar remarks, and his goal was to make America great again. These American stereotypes are also apparent in Ernest Hemingway s short stories, most notably in Cat in the Rain, The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber, and the interchapters of In Our Time. Hemingway s short stories portray Americans as being insensitive to the World around them. Americans are insensitive through their insatiable greed, emotional unawareness, and cultural disregard. Hemingway s Americans continual desire for more alienates them from the rest of society, proving their lack of understanding for the world. In Cat in the Rain, an American couple is vacationing in Italy. Instead of admiring the beauty of their surroundings, the Americans instead focus on irrelevant trivial pursuits, illustrating their greed. After going down to retrieve the cat, the wife is immediately attracted to the hotel owner, proving Americans ever evolving want for new things: She liked the way he wanted to serve her. [...] She liked his old, heavy face and big hands (Hemingway 130). Instead of staying loyal to her husband, the American wife forgets he exists and moves on to the next best person she finds, showing the apathy Americans possess for what they already have. Additionally, the hotel owner is simply doing his job, and the American wife s failure to realize this results from her greed, which severely clouds her judgement. The greed Americans possess is further proven with the American wife s childish behavior throughout the story. When the wife cannot find the cat, she complains, I wanted it so much [...] I don t know why I wanted it so much (130). Back in the hotel room, the wife demands to her husband that she want[s] to pull [her] hair back, and to have a kitty to sit on [her] lap and purr when [she] stroke[s] her (131). The ... War includes witnessing terrible violence, the feeling of guilt of having to kill people and seeing your friends injured or dead, and the mixed emotions in the battlefield. In 1988, the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Study reported that 481,000 men and 716 women currently suffer from some degree of PTSD as a result of their experience in war, and overall 40% of Vietnam veterans have suffered from PTSD at some time of their life. In addition, it has been estimated that 900,000 Vietnam spouses and partners, and approximately 1,098,000 children are affected by their respective partner s and father s combat related PTSD. These statistics showed that the Vietnam War extremely affected the veterans , and not in a good way. PTSD could have been very common among the veterans , because of the traumatic experiences they went through in the war. The war was not to be treated like a game. The war was a reality for the soldiers, and they could have constantly had the feeling of I am going to die any minute now . Another issue that they developed was domestic violence. About one third of six hundred men were reported of physically violating their partners. Their violent behaviour towards their partner/family could have also linked to PTSD. Veterans who were reported to perform domestic violence were treated with therapy to help them reduce their threatening behaviour. They either had group therapy with their family, or individual therapy. Not only was PTSD terrible for the veterans , but it was also bad for their children. In the United States alone, there are between 14,000,000 and 15,000,000 people in long distance relationships, and 4,500,000 of those people are not married ( Long Distance Relationship Statistics ). Understanding friends will offer support instead of always wanting to go out. In order to avoid becoming lonely, it is important to maintain good relationships. Caring friends will understand if public fraternization costs too much and will offer to do something fun at home instead. Another step is to video chat a few times a week to keep in touch. Do not overdo it, because that makes both sides of the relationships bored with the other. Other simple steps are to find movies to watch on TV and avoid spending unnecessary money. The progress can be tracked by how well the relationship works. If each side expresses happiness, then the solution is working; however, if the communication, or the lack of, leads to unhappiness, then the solution is not working and an intervention is needed. A weakness in the solution is that there may be long periods of time spent apart. Especially with college students, finding the time to work and study is already hard enough, but finding the time and the money to travel is a whole different story. Nevertheless, the idea of water in dreams and visions has held meaning for men all throughout history. The individual may not be conscious of the significance from water. Over the course of Jung s life, he studied thousands of dreams comparing and contrasting their significances and found many common themes, like the concept of water. Now to be clear the archetypal images are only representations of the inherent archetypes. These images are not archetypes themselves; they are the experienced expression of the archetype. The archetype itself is an inherited mode of psychic functioning analogous to inherited behavior patterns. Although the comparison here is being made is turf fields versus natural grass fields, the facts given are true for the turf fields in that they are going to be a lot cheaper to be able to run after the initial field is built. And once these fields are built, they can even be profited off because they can stay in great shape even after being used a lot. Slavery was commonly practiced throughout all ancient history, but no other people in history owned so many slaves and depended on them so much as the Romans. Slavery was accepted as a part of life in ancient Rome by the slaves themselves and by the society. However, slavery was both beneficial and disastrous to ancient Rome. It is important for public health organizations to be aware of trends common to the industry; this will inform and bolster their efforts as watchdogs to manufacturers and retailers of alcohol. The analysis describes the critical elements of the marketing mix, and makes a clear distinction between advertising and marketing. Advertising is an important part of the marketing mix; however, there are several other tactics and tools employed by marketers in the industry to influence consumer behaviour and to build strong brands. The paper reviews current trends in the alcoholic beverages industry generally, drawing specifically on some examples from the global beer industry. In the fight to increase market share, marketers will alter their marketing strategies in response to industry trends, seeking synergies that may exist between sponsorship and promotion. The paper

The body continually produced new cells by splitting from the ones that has already existed. Meiosis: can be defined as a particular form of cell splitting that generates reproductive cells, such as sperm and egg cells, plant and fungal spores. Steps involves in Mitosis Mitosis consists of four basic phases and they include prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Figure 1 shows the process that occurs in mitosis During the early phase of prophase, the cells are able to be divided into some structures and also build others up, this leads into setting the stage for their division of the chromosomes that is present. For the chromosomes to be easily pulled apart later on they start o condense during this early stage. The mitotic spindle then begins to form. This spindle is a structure that is made of microtubules, strong fibers that are considered to be the part of the cell s skeleton. The purpose of the spindle is to organize the chromosomes and to have the ability in moving them around during mitosis. The growth of the spindle occurs between the centrosomes as they move apart (https://www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/cellular molecular biology/mitosis/a/phases of mitosis). . • 33. The Conflict Of A Genocide A genocide usually starts when people of one race or religion want to dispose of people of another race or religion. The underlying causes of conflict, which result in acts of genocide, often have deep historical roots. Stereotypes between groups develop over centuries. Ethnic and cultural differences often result in the formation of in group and out group thinking. Members of different races, religions, or cultures start to view each other as separate, alien, and different. In many regions, members of these different groups develop conflict prevention methods because they feel threatened. Relations begin to degrade because of this feeling of threat. This leads one group to become convinced that many of the problems they face are the other groups fault. One group then begins to believe that all their problems would be resolved if the other group no longer existed. A desire to exterminate the other group arises because coexistence and power sharing are not considered to be options. The group committing the crimes will believe that extermination is justified. This then leads to the violent acts of genocide. The Syrian crisis began in early 2011 when Syrian President Bashar al Assad began a brutal crackdown on protests throughout the country. In March 2011, security forces opened fire on protesters at a Day of Rage rally in the southern city of Deraa, triggering violence and civilian death. • 36. Sudden and Violent Shifting of Tectonic Plates Cause... Earthquakes are a natural phenomena caused by the violent and sudden shifting of plates along tectonic boundaries. Movement of tectonic plates releases stored energy producing seismic waves, which travel through the solid rock of the upper layers of the earth s crust. Earthquakes occur along belts, circum Pacific or Alpine, located near the edges of tectonic plates. Energy released by the interaction between two plates can produce severe damage to the surrounding environment. Earthquakes occur along tectonic plate boundaries and fault lines. Movement of tectonic plates can be associated with three different types of boundaries: divergent, convergent, and transform. The lithosphere forms the outer most layer of the earth s crust, which over lays a hotter, softer layer called the asthenosphere. A divergent boundary is located along a margin where two plates are moving away from one another. As the two plates move away from one another magma flows up into the empty space, and forms a new section of the ocean floor. The creation of a new sea floor along a divergent boundary produces oceanic ridges. The best know example of this type of boundary is the mid Atlantic ridge. Convergent boundaries occur in area s where two plates merge forcing the lithosphere below the asthenosphere. Once the lithosphere is forced back down into the earth, it is melted and reused as magma volcanic arcs. This type of boundary forms oceanic trenches. Transform boundary occurs when two continental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The French, Ottomans, and British all affirmed their intent on seizing the country s bustling city capital of Cairo, with some conquests being more successful than others. France and Britain stood as worthy leaders, but it was the basic political, social, and economical foundations created by the Ottomans that most influenced nineteenth century Egypt. The Mamluks held control of large parts of Egypt in the early eighteenth century. However, they were not a unified force. Several Mamluk families fought for control for over a decade, and the final years of Mamluk rule were absolutely catastrophic for Egypt. Fluid Mechanics 3-Aerofoil Lab Report Essay Fluid Mechanics 3 Aerofoil Lab Report Introduction This report aims to investigate the effect the angle of attack of an aerofoil has on the air flow around it. This was done by recording the lift and drag forces the aerofoil experienced when positioned at different angles of attack. The experimental lift force the aerofoil experienced when positioned at different angles of attack was then compared with theoretical values. An attempt was made to explain any discrepancies between experimental and theoretical values. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The protractor of the aerofoil connected to the lift and drag voltmeters was then used to vary the aerofoil s angle of attack from 0° to 20°. Lift and Drag voltage values measured for each angle were recorded and calibration coefficients of 6.7 and 6.4 were used to obtain force Newton values for lift and drag. The lift and drag forces obtained for each angle were then plugged into equations (3) and (4) to obtain lift and drag coefficients. Equation (5) was used to calculate a theoretical value for the lift coefficient. (3) A represents the area of the aerofoil (4) (5) The values obtained were then tabulated, graphed and compared. The Reynolds number of this experiment was then calculated using equation (4) where c is the length of the aerofoil chord and is the dynamic viscosity of air. (6) Results Equation (6) was used to calculate the Reynolds Number which equated to 119366. Discussion The graph in Figure 3 confirms the theory stating that as the angle of attack of an aerofoil increases, the lift force it experiences also increases until it reaches stall position. The graph clearly shows the lift coefficient steadily increasing with angle of attack. This is due to the fact that as that as angle of attack increases, the point at which the airflow separates into streamlines going above and below the aerofoil moves forward thus providing more lift force. Lift force continues to increase until the angle of attack reaches 13° marking the angle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
