Editor's Notes

  1. Sharing has improved the software by putting more eyes on it. Community development has lead to opportunities for users and producers to innovate and create new business models.
  2. Open Educational Resources provide faculty and students with additional free resources to improve teaching and learning. Encourages faculty innovation and adaption. Can promote student success and ownership of their own learning and saves $$$.
  3. The open ict courses are offered by both public institutions and private foundations to expand access to education and provide exposure to institutions. MIT started the OCW movement a decade ago and it has attracted students and faculty to its doors.
