The Experience Of A Volunteer
The past two summers I was fortunate enough to go on two mission trips with my church. Our
group teamed together with other churches and we worked with the Carolina Missions Team or
known as CMT . This past summer was defiantly an eye opening experience for me being able to
work with an underprivileged community. One of the things I learned and realized during this trip
is that even though these people have very little of anything, they are still so willing to give other
people they don t know so much love and compassion. Having this opportunity to volunteer has
made me more aware of the needs, not just for the people in our own country, but also those in
other countries who have much worse circumstances. The experience has led me to wantto reach out
to those other countries. Hopefully one day being able to travel and give them the help, knowledge,
information and hope they needto prosper. We went to Knoxville, Tennessee and we worked at a
Boys and Girls in the projects. When my small group (missions group) got to the Boys and Girls
club we first looked around at the type of environment and we instantly realized that these kids
weren t in the of best homes. This Boys and Girls club was the only one that was free unlike the
rest of them in the area. One of the adults in my missions group pointed out a six year old boy
walking the streets without any supervision all the way up to the Boys and Girls club. We then
became very concerned about the safety of the kids and how

Aircraft Noise Essay
It began with the first manned flight of an aircraft by the Wright brothers in 1903 in the town of
Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, forever changing the face of transportation in not only the United
States but indeed the world. The invention of the airplane allowed for the traveling of greater
distances in a shorter period of time than had previously been allowed with rail travel, or horse
drawn carriage as the more popular modes of transportation of the day. It really wasn t until the late
1940s 50s that passengerair travel began to take shape in the form we know it today, and since that
time the number of air passengers has multiplied exponentially. In recent years alone passenger
traffic increased 7.2% between 2003 and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It should be noted however, that the degree of such hearing loss depends on the noise level itself,
the length of exposure to the individual and the hearer s individual susceptibility . Interestingly
enough a 3dB difference is noticeable to the average person, while a reduction of 10dB is
perceived by the human ear as a 50% reduction of noise (Thomson, p.1).
Evidence suggests that after an initial adjustment to a particular noise environment, people become
less, rather than more, tolerant of continued exposure to aircraft noise (Stevenson, p. 17). This
would seem to contradict with air industry supporters who have tried to paint the noise mitigation
issue as a nuisance , something to adapt to. The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. William H. Stewart,
perhaps but it best when he stated in 1978 that calling noise a nuisance is like calling smog an
inconvenience. Noise must be considered a hazard to the health of people everywhere .

Flappers In The Great Gatsby
With different ideas and points of view, an era of change was on his way. Ideally, flappers would
have had their way with the world, and ridiculed the world or the elders. If the rebels got let loose,
the world as we know it would not exist. Although the Flappers weren t allowed to complete
everything they wanted, they still made many changes to the society they were living in. Mental
strength was what allowed them to make these changes, successfully, even though they suffered
from cruel criticism of the outside world. By reinventing the society that they lived in, these girls
made an environment suitable for their laid back, rebellious, and ever evolving nature.

With the boom of the fashion industry, the economy flourished, and women were given the
opportunity to read magazines like Vogue and The Queen . With the desire for more goods, and
an independent lifestyle, women began back in the workforce after being pushed out by the
male dominant society that they were suffering through. These women were more developed
mentally and physically because they had been pressured and pushed harder to think in
unestablished ways(Page, A Flapper s appeal to Parents ). This made these women stronger and
more willing to fight for what they want. The physical increase in rate of development can only
be linked to science because the age of maturity continually decreases. Mentally, because there
was no war stress, and more affordable schooling, including better teachers and updated
information, the brains of these young women became a sponge advertised by Ellen Welles Page.
The number of bachelors and masters degrees dropped significantly due to an excess lifestyle.
With a strong mind these women chose what messages they wanted to send to the world (Coronel,
Our Changing Sexual Code ). The desire to be thin helped gain more attention from the male
population, but this was not the ideal reason. Heavy women were seen as someone who needed
support.

Explain What Is Wrong
Ashley Kelley Miss Roth H English pd. 4 24 March 2017 Is it Right? Is it Wrong? Morals and
values are the basis of all human decisions and knowledge. Every person s morals are different
from one another and can be used to define what is right and what is wrong in their own eyes.
Values are used as a personal translator that explains another person s behavior or beliefs to a
different individual. When people focus on both morals and values that have been set by them, they
see everything with a limited view, but take in more about what they learn. People create and set
personal values and morals based off of knowledge and understanding of the world and people

Experiences as children can shape people s brain and affect what is seen as right or wrong.
Values are acquired in childhood and manifest themselves in our campuses as permanent
perceptions that shape and influence the nature of our behaviors (Chmielewski n.p.). As a child,
that person is still developing and maturing both mentally and physically, so the values and
morals the child learns are applied to their lives and are held onto. In a world that is constantly
growing and developing, it is important for youths to hold onto morals taught to them in their
childhood (George 4). Adults also need to hold onto these morals to help youths to learn and
grasp their own personal morals. Values involve emotion, knowledge, thought, and ultimately
choice and response ( The Factors of Personality Traits n.p.). The knowledge that people gain is
gained from experience and is taken in over time. Interactions and experience can change and
affect a person s development and beliefs ( The Factors of Personality Traits n.p.). A person s past
and experiences can affect what morals are set by them and how they view the world and

The Challenges Of Growing Up In A Small City
Being raised in a small town was a challenge for me as a kid. A town in South Louisiana called
Chauvin runs along Bayou Little Caillou until it reaches the city of Cocodrie with marsh on the
opposite side of it. There were only a handful of streets off of the highway that served as
neighborhoods, since we were surrounded by water on both sides. I never got the opportunity
to run around the neighborhood with the kids around the block because we lived off of the
highway. Instead, I would run along to the neighbors house, which was owned by a man named
Mr. John. Mr. John was on older guy, about 6 foot and a little on the heavy side. He would
always come home dressed in jeans and a different color collared shirt with a label on the left
side that read Cajun Critters . Cajun Critters was Mr. John s Machine Shop he owned and ran.
Until he told me, I would have never known that he had his own business. Mr. John was my role
model growing up. Yes my parents were there for me and no I was never pushed away by them, but
going over next door just sounded like a better plan for the day. He acted like an Uncle for me, and
his kids were all older and moved out so I was the only company he would get, other than his wife
of course. He would always tell me stories of him growing up and how he could tell that I would
be a successful person in the future. By the time I was a sophomore in High School, I had known
pretty much every detail of Mr. John s life. In 1967, Jonny Joseph Dixon was

Was Helen Thomas A Hero Of Journalism
Hero of Journalism
On July 20th, 2013, the day female journalist Helen Thomas passed away, President Obama
released a statement, calling Helen Thomas a true pioneer . It is not common for a president to
comment on the death of a reporter, but Helen Thomas was far more than merely a reporter; she
was a hero. The veteran journalist worked for the United Press and United Press International for
57 years. During her long career life, she never failed to keep presidents on their toes (Obama,

Social Stratification in Manifesto of the Communist...
Social Stratification in Manifesto of the Communist Party by Karl Marx and Max Weber s Class,
Status and Party
Social stratification is the ranking of members of society in a way
that some of its members are regarded as superior and others as inferior.
This theory is certainly debated in present time and was debated as far
back as 1776 when Karl Marx presented his theory in his Manifesto of
the Communist Party . In the 1880 s, Max Weber combatted that document
in his own Class, Status and Party.
Karl Marx believed that social standing or rank was based solely on
class position. For example, an owner of a business was regarded far above
a worker in that same business. Class position would also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

people living a higher style of life usually shy away from those of a lower
economic status. You do not often encounter children from wealthy
Manhattan families playing with children from Harlem. The third part
of Weber s theory on social stratification was power, which Weber defined as
the chances of having other people do what you want them to do regardless
of their own wishes.
Marx would not have argued with Weber about the three factors
being in existence; however, he probably would state that the class of the
person would determine how much status and power a person would have.
Weber agreed with Marx in the fact that in a capitalistic society, class had
the biggest influence on a person s position and that status and power were
given more to the higher classes. Weber said, however, that there were
other societies in which this was not true, such as in the Estates System of
Medieval Europe and the Caste System of India. In the Estates System,
power was the most important factor of social rank, followed by class and
status. The best

Observation 2 Abstract This paper will be about an observation to a child, and the different
behaviors of the child. After watching the child I will study her physical, cognitive, and social
development according to her age. That will give us an idea of how children should behave at a
certain age. I will also compare the theories of some well known theorists according to my child
s behavior. Introduction This observation took place September 26, 2014 at a daycare in
Homestead. A friend of mine is a teacher at My Little Angels and while waiting for her, I sat
down to watch some children playing. There were many kids to do the observation on, but a
little girl playing kitchen set caught my eye. I started watching her from 2:00pm to 2:33pm. It
is fascinating what kids do and what we can find out about their behavior by watching them for
just thirty minutes. Demographics This little girl by the name of Isabella, was about three to
four years old. Bella, how her teacher called her, was a white Hispanic American. I would say
she looked like a Cuban American, or a Puerto Rican American. Bella speaks pretty fluent
English, and Spanish for her age. She seemed like a pretty smart little girl, and had no
disabilities at all. Appearance Isabella was a brunette of about two and a half to three foot tall.
She weighted about thirty to forty pounds, which seemed like an average for a three to four year
old. The day of the observation she was wearing a pink and white polka dots skirt

Literary Analysis Of Eve Of St. Agnes
Eve of St. Agnes had an overwhelming amount of information to take in, and I mean a lot. The
setting where the poem had taken place is what had drawn me in from the get go. What s more
thrilling than an enchanting gothic castle, twisting hallways, the concept forbidden love being
tossed around, medieval feasts, bloodlust dating back all the way to ancient times? I felt as if I was
traveling through time each page I had turned.
The initial part of the poem had major Romeo and Juliet characteristics with Keats giving
Porphyro and Madeline s families a rivalry, but never actually telling his readers how they got it.
Personally, I felt like we really weren t able to grasp how these two kids even got together either or
what their relationship is really like. Instead, Keats relied heavily on the star crossed lovers kept
apart by the family feud motif to get his readers to vividly fill in the blanks.
Nevertheless, Porphyro is a jerk. He turned out to not be the romantic hero I initially had
perceived him to be. My dumb, naive, and sappy heart thought it was adorable that he strategized
this plan to run away with his girlfriend, the alleged love of his life, who had also happened to be
part of the bloodline that is in rivalry with his. I had already taken on this abstract picture in my
mind of some cute prince whisking this princess off her feet, running off into the sunset on a horse,
and with her in his arms.
But that picture got annihilated when he had cynically tricked

entering the building a little difficult for someone who is in a wheelchair or cannot move very
quickly. In order to unlock the main door, an electronic key fob needs to be scanned on a
scanner. The scanner is inconveniently located too far away for a person to remain in the same
place to scan their key fob and open the door at the same time. Since the scanner only unlocks
the door momentarily, the door would most likely lock itself by the time someone who had
issues with mobility was able to reach the door handle and open the door. This could be fixed by
increasing the amount of time the door remains unlocked after scanning the key fob or by
moving the key fob scanner closer to the door handle. I also noticed that if someone is trying to

Imagery In A Dream Deferred By Langston Hughes
A Dream Deferred by, Langston Hughes is a great masterpiece in my vision; he conducts
imagery in his work and simple diction. Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over
like a syrupy sweet? I felt Mr.Hughes was questioning whether or not the dream expires and
becomes useless, or if the dream gets a little crusty, but still sweet. Mr.Hughes also implies that
you can either have sweet dream, or hold on to something that no longer serves you, in your
journey through life. His diction grasps readers, it is like watching the story instead of reading the
poem. Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore And then run? Hope by Emily
Dickinson, utilized metaphoric diction, to enhance her imagery in the poem.

In the fairy tale Rapunzel , the dreamer, Rapunzel, successfully passes through all the Freudian
psychosexual stages of development. Symbolism helps to illustrate the dreamer s movement
through the five stages. The Witch portrays the super ego figure in Rapunzel . Rapunzel s
mother plays the Id figure. The events of Rapunzel s life lead the reader to identify the dream as

His act of agreement transitions the dreamer to the anal stage. The witch takes the baby as part of
the agreement, naming her Rapunzel, another word for rampion, symbolizing another oral image.
When Rapunzel turns twelve, the witch locks her in a tower to hide her beauty from the world.
Although the tower represents phallic image, it also symbolizes how the dreamer becomes anal

the witch tries to keep Rapunzel from the outside world, in theory, keeping her in (1). During the

first, the prince scares Rapunzel but he then spoke to her so kindly and that his heart had been so

indication of the phallic stage. The prince then offers to help Rapunzel leave the tower and to marry

The Medellin V. Texas Case Study
The Medellin v. Texas Case Study
Adith S. Sitaraman
UCLA Extension
Abstract
JosГ© Ernesto Medellin Rojas, a Mexican National was arrested for the gang rape and murder of
two women who were locals of Texas. The case study highlights and goes through the facts in
hand, the issues faced and the judgement, also the controversies which in turn grabbed attention by
the media, before becoming known worldwide. Medellin was convicted and arrested for his
crimes and was given death sentence by the Texas State Court. The key factor here is that Medellin
being a Mexican national (spending most of his life in the United States) was not provided his rights
to contact or inform consular personnel from Mexico concerning his detention in the US.
According to Article 36 of the Vienna Convention (Which the US is also a signatory) Medellin
should be given his rights to do so. Medellin also claimed that he was in fact, not informed of this.
With the intervention of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) suggesting that the convictions of
Medellin should be re assessed and made to be compliant with the Vienna Convention regulations. It
is also noteworthy to mention that the ICJ has compulsory jurisdiction on dispute settlement, as a
matter of fact the US had withdrawn from this protocol which remains optional. This furthermore
led to the intervention of the US President and his actions meanwhile remain debatable because of

country that had one of the biggest impacts on the abolishment of slavery was Haiti. Many historians

Crisis Intervention Chapter 1 Summary
Chapter 1 discussed the concepts, theories, strategies, and skills needed for crisis intervention. It
was interesting to read about how government agencies like FEMA and the Red Cross have been
around for years; however they really do not focus on intervention from a mental health
perspective. The chapter briefly touched on the Cocoanut Grove fire. After research I learned that it
is the deadliest known night club fire in the world, killing 492 people, and sending 166 to hospitals.
I can understand how it is the benchmark for crisis intervention. How mental healthwas viewed
before the Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963 is unbearable. It altered the delivery of
mental health services and made the industry what it is today. One statement... Show more content

The most important thing that I took away from this chapter is the overarching default task of
ensuring safety, safety for the client as well as others and workers. This chapter did a good job on
illustrating equilibrium; however I appreciated it stating that not all individuals had equilibrium
before the crisis. This type of intervention is not too different from counseling because not all
clients are ideal or perfect. This chapter also stressed the importance of assessment. From onset to
resolution of the crisis, assessment is a continuous process. I learned that just because crisis appears
on the surface to have been resolved, it should not be assumed that assessment is no longer

Squid Vs Octopi
Squid and Octopi are two mysterious creatures of the sea which many people lack knowledge of.
They both have many amusing similarities and differences when it comes to their homes, diets, and
physical aspects. These two sea creatures relate in many ways, however there are countless unique
characteristics between them.
Being some of the most brilliant animals of the sea, Octopi are invertebrates which means that
they do not have a single bone in their bodies. They are usually hidden away in caves or dens
near the sea floor and spend most of their lifetimes alone. During pregnancy, many mothers
become very weak due to a lack of food and nutrition, and pass away not being able to be present
throughout their children s lifetimes. Octopi are also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with octopi, squid are also cephalopods and contain three hearts. Unlike octopi, squid have
two fins on their head and have a stiff structure called a pen that acts like a flexible spine. These
fins are used for the squid to slowly move about throughout the ocean. Rather than being alone and
independent like the octopus, squid are found in schools and tend to stay together throughout their
short lifetimes. Squid eat a combination of different species of fish and shrimp and may even go
to the point of eating other squid if food is scarce. Both animals are located in salty, warm waters
near the temperate zones where there is an abundance of food. One main difference between them
is how they catch their prey. Octopi bring in their prey by piercing them and injecting it with a
venom through their suckers that paralyzes the victim. Squid use their two longest tentacles to
catch fish and shrimp and shred it with their sharp tongue while the prey is still alive. Another
similarity between them is that they both have a mantle. The mantle helps protect the organism by
creating a shell around the internal organs. Size weighs in a great deal with both of the animals.
Octopi can range anywhere from one centimeter to five meters and can weigh up to one hundred
and fifty pounds. Squid can be from a few inches to sixty feet long and weigh over a

2008 Juvenile Crime
According to the National Criminal Justice Reference Service article Juvenile Arrests
2008 on the bulletin by Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), juvenile
crime in 2008 showed a decline from recent years. Crime data is gathered annually and reported to
the FBI s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program by local law enforcement agencies across the
nation and 2008 marked the first decline in juvenile crime since 2004.
Juvenile crime is defined as crime committed by persons under the age of 18. Although juvenile
crime in 2008 had increased in a few categories such as property crime it had decreased in most.
Criminal offenses are categorized under violent crime index (murder, manslaughter, forcible rape,
robbery, aggravated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the article, juvenile arrests in 2008 disproportionally involved more minorities
than whites. Data of 2008 indicated that 52% of juvenile violent crime index arrests and 33% of
juvenile property crime index arrests involved black youth even though they only make 16% of
the youth population ages 10 17 in the U.S. 47% of the same crime index involved white youth
which makes up 78% of the U.S. population ages 10 17. Hispanic youth was included under
white racial group. Keeping track of crime through the FBI s UCR Program can be an effective
tool to measure trends in juvenile crime and reduce delinquency among our youth. For instance,
data gathered can help law enforcement agencies allocated funds to programs aimed to curtail
rising crime in certain areas and hire more staff where it s needed. On the flipside, the same data
can help law enforcement agencies notice what programs or what is not working in the fight against
juvenile delinquency. Also, the same data can also help address social issues such as the juvenile
arrests disproportionately involved minorities and female

Abstract
Causes of dyslexia or reading disabilities have been hotly debated by researchers and educators.
Knowledge regarding the causes of reading disabilities is important as they define the strategies that
will used to help students with dyslexia learn. Dyslexia is caused by differences in the information
processing patterns of learning disability students. Language and phonological skills have been
found to be the main cause of reading problems. This paper presents a critique and summarizes a
paper dealing with phonological skills and how they affect the ability to read. Besides this the

Therefore, an educator needs to know the areas to focus that will produce the best results and help
the student learn. Results from various studies have shown that besides intelligence the ability to
sequence, analyze, and remember sounds are the biggest contributors to reading achievement
(Smith, 2003). In view of these finding it is important to isolate the fields within this area that will
have the greatest impact and help direct the learning strategies. A study along these lines was
conducted by Melby LervГҐg, Lyster, amp; Hulme. Melby LervГҐg, Lyster, amp; Hulme (2012)
conducted a meta analytic study to study the relationship between phonological skills and student s
reading abilities. Under phonological skills mainly three factors were considered. They are verbal
short term memory, phonemic awareness, and rime awareness. The authors compared children
with dyslexia with the same age and reading level control group of children to measure the affect
and strength of correlation between verbal short memory, rime awareness and phonemic awareness
on a child s word reading abilities.
Summary
Various researchers have found that there is a relationship between phonemic awareness, rime
awareness and verbal short term memory. Melby LervГҐg, Lyster, amp; Hulme (2012) wanted to

words in length (approximately 6 8 pages). In addition, you will be required to submit your
paper electronically via turnitin.com . When the Supreme Court is deciding whether to hear a
case or not, there are many things that it takes into account. First off, if the Case will resolve a
conflict of law, then the case will be heard. A conflict of law is basically when the state supreme
courts and federal circuits reach different conclusions about an issue of federal or constitutional
law, and when that happens the supreme court can resolve the conflict of law by deciding the law.
Second, The Supreme Court will consider hearing a case that they deem important or that they say
has high significance. Some of these important cases consist of U.S. v Nixon, which was about the

Moral Duty In Firestorm And The Immigrant
Word Count (598)
Science fiction is a genre of speculative fiction which allows us as readers to contemplate grand
religious concepts such as moral duty and G d s will as we vicariously live through fictitious
characters in dystopian societies or remarkable situations. Such concepts are explored in The
Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Attwood, Canticles for Leibowitz by Walter Miller, and
Contamination by Richard Bowker as moral duty is contemplated, while in Firestorm by Steve
Tem and The Emigrant by Joel Rosenberg, G d s plan is explored.
Protagonists in works of science fiction are often faced with moral dilemmas brought about by
dystopian societies. In The Handmaid s Tale , the protagonist Offred and her husband Luke are

guilt and is a direct effect of the dystopian society of Gilead which forces its residents to make
these unbearable decisions. Similarly, in Canticles for Leibowitz set in the year 3781, nuclear
explosions begin to erupt as part of a war and a Doctor Cors opens a relief camp in an abbey. He
meets a mother and child who suffer from radiation sickness and decides to administer them

Credit Score Misconceptions
Credit reports and scores have become an essential part of our daily lives since the 1980s when
banks implemented a system to calculate consumers creditworthiness. Today it is crucial to
thoroughly understand your credit standing as a borrower. However, most consumers have very
limited knowledge about what improves and hurts their credit scores. As a result, their rankings
remain low as they struggle to make payments on balances with high interest rates. Below we have
put together the top five misconceptions about credit scores.
1. There is only one credit score.
Contrary to this belief, there are several models to calculate credit scores. FICO is the name of
the most popular model used by many lenders. The score range is from 300 to 850. The higher
the score, the better is your standing as a borrower. Before applying for a credit, you can request
your score from one of the companies. It will give you an idea what lenders will see when they
pull your credit information. Keep in mind that scores from different companies may vary by ...

and your creditworthiness will eventually improve. Keep in mind that collection accounts and other

Macbeth Blood Essay
What bloody man is that? in these, the opening words of the play s second scene, King Duncan
asks about a sergeant. The sergeant then tells the story of Macbeth s heroic victories over
Macdonwald and the King of Norway. The sergeant s telling of the story is in itself heroic,
because his loss of blood has made him weak. Thus his blood and his heroism seem to enhance the
picture of Macbethas a hero. As Lady Macbeth plans to kill King Duncan, she calls upon the
spirits of murder to make thick my blood; stop up the access and passage to remorse. Thin blood
was considered wholesome, and it was thought that poison made blood thick. Lady Macbeth wants

The Internal Analysis Of Dollar Tree Essay
The internal analysis is very important in a company. Just like the external analysis, both of
these analysis help to determine strategies. The Internal analysis involves the strengths,
weaknesses, opportunity and threats of a company (Pearson, 2014). Dollar Tree has many
strengths but they also have some weakness too. If Dollar Tree would use the data that they
have from their internal analysis they could turn a lot of their weakness into strengths. But we
will talk about their weaknesses later. The more strength a company has the better. One of
Dollar Tree s strengths would be that they acquired Family Dollar in 2015. This is a huge
strength for Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree has many opportunities to overtake the dollar store market.
They only need to keep inquiring their competitor s stores. Strength for Dollar Tree is their
strong financial performance. They are the largest dollar store in the market. Dollar Tree has a
$15.5B Annual net sale that grew to 80.2% in 2015 and exceeded $15 billion for the first time in
Company history. Now to Dollar Tree s weaknesses, this would be their low inventory turnover
ratio. In 2016, Dollar Tree reported that their inventory turnover ratio was 3.8 (Canadean, 2016).
This is a high number. This is saying that they have more than enough of inventory in store that is
not being bought by their customers. This is really money that is setting in their warehouse or
stockroom and it just sitting and is not being used. This is bad for Dollar Tree.

The first step for mummification is to take the body to the tent, also known as Ibu, which is a
place to purify the body. The body will be washed with a specific wine and later on rise with
water from the Nile RIver. After the body is cleaned the Embalmers, an Egyptian that
mummifies the body, will start to cut the body. The first cut is usually on the left side of the
body and they will remove as much as possible of the internal organs. It s important to remove
the internal organs because it s the first part of the body that will decompose. The organs are
cleaned and placed in canopic jars but the heart is kept inside of the body because it is the centre
of intelligence and feeling and the man will need it in the afterlife. ancientegypt.co.uk Next the
Embalmers use a long hook to pull out the brain. After the organs and brain are taken out of the
body, Embalmers use natron to cover and stuff the body. Natron is used to dry up the inside and
the outside of the body. The body is left for forty days for the natron to dry up. After the forty
days are up, the Embalmers will wash the body again with water from the Nile River. The body
is covered with oils to help the skin stay elastic. The inside of the body is now dehydrated so the
Embalmers cover the inside of the with sawdust, leaves and linen which is specific cloth that
was woven from a flax. The reason why they are stuffing the body with this things is because
they want the body to more lifelike. The body is once again covered well smelling oils. Now the

and toes are wrapped individually. The arms and legs will be wrapped separately as the

The Judicial Observation On The Australian Competition And...
Executive summary
This essay will mainly analyze and discuss some relevant legal principles and terms related to the
judicial observation on legal position that the judge made in the Australian Competition and
Consumer Commission v Yazaki Corporation case. Therefore, it is necessary to cover the
following key issues: 1. Definition and explanations of separate legal entity doctrine and corporate
groups. 2. When will a subsidiary company be recognized as an agent of its parent. 3. Under what
circumstances can corporate veil be ignored or lifted. Introduction
As mentioned in the prescribed text, the judge observes that there are cases where a parent
company manages its subsidiary and also where a subsidiary company plays an agent role of its
parent due to the parent s substantial control exercised. Queries may then occur as in what is the
exact relationship between a parent company and its subsidiary, as well as what are the criteria
that could determine that relationship. Before clearly explaining these questions, a brief
introduction of the separate legal entity principal will be given, after which the importance of
corporate group where parent and subsidiary companies lie in will be illustrated, followed by a
thorough discussion of corporate veil. In the end, this essay will cover when to lift the corporate
veil under both Common law and Corporation Acts 2001, mainly regarding some determining
factors such as sham and fraud, as well as the contents in

Area 51 Conspiracy Theory
Area 51 is a United States Air Force Base located about 80 miles north of Las Vegas. It is a very
secretive base that the U.S didn t claim that it even existed for many years, but it s pretty
obvious. There is various amounts of satellites that have seen it and people have even got close
enough to see it with their bare eyes. The CIA finally acknowledged it in 2013, but to this day it
is still as mystery to what is inside. This base is where many new planes are built and tested. Some
of the planes and new machines even look out of this word. And that gives people the idea that the
government has extra terrestrial life inside the base. There has been hundreds and thousands of
pictures floating around the internet of aliens and weird looking creatures saying that these photos

Adolescence Is A Form Of Social Rejection
Adolescence is a period of clear gains in intelligence and cognitive skills and one of intense
emotions and impulsive behavior (Johnson de Haan, 2015). We experience a higher sensitivity to
rejection during this time and place great importance of peer relationships (Masten et al., 2009).
Frequent experiences of social rejectionhave been linked with lasting somatic, psychosomatic, and
internalizing disorders (Wolke Lereya, 2015), such as depression and anxiety (Rigby, 2000; as
cited in Masten et al., 2009). Educators and researchers alike have attempted to intervene in
hopes of reducing antisocial behaviors like bullying, a form of social rejection. In this paper, I
will (1) go over what adolescence is and broad developmental changes during this period; (2)
affective causes of social rejection; (3) some effects of social rejection during adolescence; and
lastly (4) some concluding statements and future directions.
Adolescence and broad changes during this period
According to Crone and Dahl (2011), adolescence is a transition phase between childhood and
adulthood. They, and many other researchers (e.g, Arnett, 2015), do not believe that the beginning
and end have clear cut boundaries. Somewhat helpfully, a general range of adolescence has been
agreed upon in the literature and is between the ages of 9 and 19; this uses the onset of pubertal
maturation as a marker. Johnson and de Haan (2015) and others have remarked that it is a time that
involves a significant

George Gascoigne s For That He Looked Not Upon Her
For That He Looked Not Upon Her is a poem written by 16th century poet George Gascoigne. In
the poem, Gascoigne uses sonnet form to organize his work. Next, he uses strong diction to help
convey the attitude of the speaker. Finally, Gascoigne uses imagery to bring the words to life
through vivid analogies. Gascoigne effectively uses form, strong diction, and active imagery to
develop the complex tone of the speaker. Gascoigne uses form to develop the complex attitude of
the speaker. This poem takes the form of a Shakespearean Sonnet. Because of the form he chooses
to use, this poem can be broken into three quatrains with a couplet to end the poem. In each of the

In the second and third quatrains, the speaker uses analogies to describe why he wouldn t return
to his lover. In each of the analogies, Gascoigne uses an animal longing for their object of desire.
In the first second quatrain, it is a mouse that doesn t not fall for the same trap it once escaped
from. In the third quatrain, it is the fly that will not be scorched by the same flame twice. In both
analogies, the subjects escape from a dangerous conflict, only to want to return to that conflict
again, as the desire is one that the subject needs to survive. By using this type of application to
show the speaker s conflict, the speaker better shows and develops their attitude towards the main
subject of the poem. The imagery in these analogies helps to create the complex attitude of the
speaker because by using the analogy, the reader is able to connect the speaker s feelings to a real
life situation. The audience is able to better understand the scenario because the author compared it
to an everyday scenario that can be easily pictured. Gascoigne skillfully uses imagery in the form

In this scenario, I am working with a family in the hospital setting. The patient is a 7 year old male
who is hospitalized due to complications with cystic fibrosis and also has a diagnosis of Down
Syndrome. Present in the family structure is the patient and both biological parents, who are
college graduates and have substantial employment. From my previous observations, I am aware
that the patient enjoys positive attention, such as praise, nonverbal attention, playing games, or
reading books, from adults, but also frequently displays non compliance with requests from adults.
Another important observation to note is that the patient is only able to follow simple 1 and 2 step
commands and cannot speak in full sentences.
In the healthcare setting, there are many experiences that may lead to problematic behaviors in
children, but in a situation where a child also has a developmental disability these problematic
behaviors can be more intense and more difficult to tame. An antecedent is what happens
immediately before a problematic behavior, such as a demand, transition, time of day, specific
request being denied, and so forth. An antecedent that might lead to problematic behavior in the
hospital for this particular child could be seen in the following example; the nursing staff entered
the patient s room to start an IV without assessing developmental age/abilities and gave the patient
a 3 step command to keep his arm still, not wiggle his body, and listen or talk to

Brain and Behavior of Men and Women Essay
If we were to examine a high school calculus classroom or the staff at an engineering program of a
college or university, chances are that the male to female ratio would be significantly skewed. Why
are women and men so different in their choices and behavior? The brunt of popular opinion
focuses on the environmental cues that lead to our distinct behaviors. But is there also an innate
biological basisto the choices and differing abilities between men and women? Cognitive
functioning or brainprocessing differences in the two genders has been a point of interest and
contention for many years. The purpose of this essay is to explore if neuroanatomical and genetic
differences between males and females play a role in the development of... Show more content on

Contrary to popular belief, gender and anatomical sex refer to two distinct and separate constructs
as each develops at different times and in different parts of the body. John Money coined the
phenomenon that codes for masculinity or femininity as Gendermaps (1). At a very early age and
through an interaction of both nature and nurture, this gendermap imprint is established. What
makes gender identification and sex so frequently parallel to each other is that gendermap
evolvement is notably also induced by hormones that emanate from the developing fetus (1).
Behavioral Differences:
Though there are many similarities in the cognitive abilities of men and women, there are also
discernible differences. For the most part, the behavioral differences between the intellectual
capacities of the sexes have to do more with patterns of ability than the actual intellectual capacity
(3). For one, attention and perception differ early on. Baby girls have been noted to gaze longer at
objects than baby boys. Later they rely on landmarks and memory for guidance. Boys on the other
hand, have a better visual spatial ability such as aiming at stationary or moving targets and
detecting minor movements in their visual fields more easily. The fact that males perform better in
navigation seems to agree with the possible theory that evolutionarily, many of these abilities would
have been important for survival in the time of

Franklin D Roosevelt Ethos Pathos Logos
December 7, 1941 is a day that will live with us forever. On December 8, 1941, the next day,
President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave one of the most patriotic speeches this country has heard.
He used several different rhetorical devices, Ethos, Pathos, Logos, to strengthen his argument.
His speech was an argument that was trying to get his fellow americans to stand up and fight for
our freedom. He came across many groups of people who were totally against going to war but
his speech was very logical and filled with emotion many of his fellow Americans backed his
idea. Since, President Roosevelt had won over the majority of the americans he was able to get us
ready to go to war and avenge Pearl Harbor. When the country is attacked, and... Show more content

In most patriotic or any speeches given in history that try to prove an argument must have a strong
dose of pathos. Pathos is the key to his speech because when something as bad as the Attack on
Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt was a able to rally his fellow Americans to bear arms and
ready to avenge this attack. Especially when President Roosevelt said this, No matter how long it
may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might
will win through to absolute victory.(15) . President Roosevelt was very successful with this and
got the clear majority of the people ready to go to war. Although there were some people
disagreeing, but they were silenced by the majority of the people .
Ethos he is able to persuade his fellow americans because he is the president of the US. He has
gained his credibility because of the elections he has won and how respected he was from the
great depression and he got the country out of it. He is also the only president in US history to
have served more than 2 terms. As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that
all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of
the onslaught against us.(Roosevelt, 14) I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of
the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make it
very certain that this form of

1. I would expect the two variables to be related because it is reasonable to hypothesize that the
stress level of an individual is directly linked to their work, in which is where most of their day
revolves around.
By taking the the list of occupations at face value, I would assume or expect that individuals with
roles in management, business or administration would self report a lower stress level compared to
their peerswith occupations that may require a substantial amount of physical labour and manual
work. As for the strength of the relationship, I would predict that the strength may be moderately
lower than average because of other factors at play that could potentially ... Show more content on

In addition, it appears that this trend happens across all occupations. If we were to pick out
values that recieved greater frequencycounts in terms of no stress at all, it would be the Sales
/Services, Trades/Transport, Process/Manufacture fields, a liitle off of what we predicted.
However, this is minor and the values are not too far apart from what people in the Business
/Management sector reported. Therefore, this comes to show that the relationship between the two
variables is very limited. I chose not to recode the variables because the way it is given is
inclusive and exhaustive. Recoding may risk losing some valuable data in the process of refinement
and change the results too dramatically.
Even if they are related, it would be a weak correlation considering the Cramer s V value. Since the
value is only 0.1172, this means that the relationship between the two variables is extremely

  • 2. The Experience Of A Volunteer The past two summers I was fortunate enough to go on two mission trips with my church. Our group teamed together with other churches and we worked with the Carolina Missions Team or known as CMT . This past summer was defiantly an eye opening experience for me being able to work with an underprivileged community. One of the things I learned and realized during this trip is that even though these people have very little of anything, they are still so willing to give other people they don t know so much love and compassion. Having this opportunity to volunteer has made me more aware of the needs, not just for the people in our own country, but also those in other countries who have much worse circumstances. The experience has led me to wantto reach out to those other countries. Hopefully one day being able to travel and give them the help, knowledge, information and hope they needto prosper. We went to Knoxville, Tennessee and we worked at a Boys and Girls in the projects. When my small group (missions group) got to the Boys and Girls club we first looked around at the type of environment and we instantly realized that these kids weren t in the of best homes. This Boys and Girls club was the only one that was free unlike the rest of them in the area. One of the adults in my missions group pointed out a six year old boy walking the streets without any supervision all the way up to the Boys and Girls club. We then became very concerned about the safety of the kids and how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aircraft Noise Essay It began with the first manned flight of an aircraft by the Wright brothers in 1903 in the town of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, forever changing the face of transportation in not only the United States but indeed the world. The invention of the airplane allowed for the traveling of greater distances in a shorter period of time than had previously been allowed with rail travel, or horse drawn carriage as the more popular modes of transportation of the day. It really wasn t until the late 1940s 50s that passengerair travel began to take shape in the form we know it today, and since that time the number of air passengers has multiplied exponentially. Evidence suggests that after an initial adjustment to a particular noise environment, people become less, rather than more, tolerant of continued exposure to aircraft noise (Stevenson, p. 17). This would seem to contradict with air industry supporters who have tried to paint the noise mitigation issue as a nuisance , something to adapt to. The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. William H. Although the Flappers weren t allowed to complete everything they wanted, they still made many changes to the society they were living in. Mental strength was what allowed them to make these changes, successfully, even though they suffered from cruel criticism of the outside world. These women were more developed mentally and physically because they had been pressured and pushed harder to think in unestablished ways(Page, A Flapper s appeal to Parents ). This made these women stronger and more willing to fight for what they want. The physical increase in rate of development can only be linked to science because the age of maturity continually decreases. Every person s morals are different from one another and can be used to define what is right and what is wrong in their own eyes. After watching the child I will study her physical, cognitive, and social development according to her age. That will give us an idea of how children should behave at a certain age. I will also compare the theories of some well known theorists according to my child s behavior. Introduction This observation took place September 26, 2014 at a daycare in Homestead. A friend of mine is a teacher at My Little Angels and while waiting for her, I sat down to watch some children playing. There were many kids to do the observation on, but a little girl playing kitchen set caught my eye. I started watching her from 2:00pm to 2:33pm. It is fascinating what kids do and what we can find out about their behavior by watching them for just thirty minutes. I would say she looked like a Cuban American, or a Puerto Rican American. Bella speaks pretty fluent English, and Spanish for her age. She seemed like a pretty smart little girl, and had no disabilities at all. Appearance Isabella was a brunette of about two and a half to three foot tall. The setting where the poem had taken place is what had drawn me in from the get go. What s more thrilling than an enchanting gothic castle, twisting hallways, the concept forbidden love being tossed around, medieval feasts, bloodlust dating back all the way to ancient times? I felt as if I was traveling through time each page I had turned. The initial part of the poem had major Romeo and Juliet characteristics with Keats giving Porphyro and Madeline s families a rivalry, but never actually telling his readers how they got it. Personally, I felt like we really weren t able to grasp how these two kids even got together either or what their relationship is really like. Instead, Keats relied heavily on the star crossed lovers kept apart by the family feud motif to get his readers to vividly fill in the blanks. Nevertheless, Porphyro is a jerk. He turned out to not be the romantic hero I initially had perceived him to be. My dumb, naive, and sappy heart thought it was adorable that he strategized this plan to run away with his girlfriend, the alleged love of his life, who had also happened to be part of the bloodline that is in rivalry with his. I can understand how it is the benchmark for crisis intervention. How mental healthwas viewed before the Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963 is unbearable. They both have many amusing similarities and differences when it comes to their homes, diets, and physical aspects. Being some of the most brilliant animals of the sea, Octopi are invertebrates which means that they do not have a single bone in their bodies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Along with octopi, squid are also cephalopods and contain three hearts. Unlike octopi, squid have two fins on their head and have a stiff structure called a pen that acts like a flexible spine. These fins are used for the squid to slowly move about throughout the ocean. Rather than being alone and independent like the octopus, squid are found in schools and tend to stay together throughout their short lifetimes. Squid eat a combination of different species of fish and shrimp and may even go to the point of eating other squid if food is scarce. Both animals are located in salty, warm waters near the temperate zones where there is an abundance of food. One main difference between them is how they catch their prey. Octopi bring in their prey by piercing them and injecting it with a venom through their suckers that paralyzes the victim. Squid use their two longest tentacles to catch fish and shrimp and shred it with their sharp tongue while the prey is still alive. Another similarity between them is that they both have a mantle. The mantle helps protect the organism by creating a shell around the internal organs. Size weighs in a great deal with both of the animals. Octopi can range anywhere from one centimeter to five meters and can weigh up to one hundred and fifty pounds. Squid can be from a few inches to sixty feet long and weigh over a ... If Dollar Tree would use the data that they have from their internal analysis they could turn a lot of their weakness into strengths. But we will talk about their weaknesses later. The more strength a company has the better. One of Dollar Tree s strengths would be that they acquired Family Dollar in 2015. This is a huge strength for Dollar Tree. Executive summary This essay will mainly analyze and discuss some relevant legal principles and terms related to the judicial observation on legal position that the judge made in the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission v Yazaki Corporation case. Therefore, it is necessary to cover the following key issues: 1. Definition and explanations of separate legal entity doctrine and corporate groups. 2. When will a subsidiary company be recognized as an agent of its parent. 3. Under what circumstances can corporate veil be ignored or lifted. Introduction As mentioned in the prescribed text, the judge observes that there are cases where a parent company manages its subsidiary and also where a subsidiary company plays an agent role of its parent due to the parent s substantial control exercised. Queries may then occur as in what is the exact relationship between a parent company and its subsidiary, as well as what are the criteria that could determine that relationship. Before clearly explaining these questions, a brief introduction of the separate legal entity principal will be given, after which the importance of corporate group where parent and subsidiary companies lie in will be illustrated, followed by a thorough discussion of corporate veil. Adolescence Is A Form Of Social Rejection Adolescence is a period of clear gains in intelligence and cognitive skills and one of intense emotions and impulsive behavior (Johnson de Haan, 2015). We experience a higher sensitivity to rejection during this time and place great importance of peer relationships (Masten et al., 2009). Frequent experiences of social rejectionhave been linked with lasting somatic, psychosomatic, and internalizing disorders (Wolke Lereya, 2015), such as depression and anxiety (Rigby, 2000; as cited in Masten et al., 2009). Educators and researchers alike have attempted to intervene in hopes of reducing antisocial behaviors like bullying, a form of social rejection. In this paper, I will (1) go over what adolescence is and broad developmental changes during this period; (2) affective causes of social rejection; (3) some effects of social rejection during adolescence; and lastly (4) some concluding statements and future directions. Adolescence and broad changes during this period According to Crone and Dahl (2011), adolescence is a transition phase between childhood and adulthood. They, and many other researchers (e.g, Arnett, 2015), do not believe that the beginning and end have clear cut boundaries. Somewhat helpfully, a general range of adolescence has been agreed upon in the literature and is between the ages of 9 and 19; this uses the onset of pubertal maturation as a marker. The patient is a 7 year old male who is hospitalized due to complications with cystic fibrosis and also has a diagnosis of Down Syndrome. Present in the family structure is the patient and both biological parents, who are college graduates and have substantial employment. From my previous observations, I am aware that the patient enjoys positive attention, such as praise, nonverbal attention, playing games, or reading books, from adults, but also frequently displays non compliance with requests from adults. Another important observation to note is that the patient is only able to follow simple 1 and 2 step commands and cannot speak in full sentences. In the healthcare setting, there are many experiences that may lead to problematic behaviors in children, but in a situation where a child also has a developmental disability these problematic behaviors can be more intense and more difficult to tame. An antecedent is what happens immediately before a problematic behavior, such as a demand, transition, time of day, specific request being denied, and so forth. An antecedent that might lead to problematic behavior in the hospital for this particular child could be seen in the following example; the nursing staff entered the patient s room to start an IV without assessing developmental age/abilities and gave the patient a 3 step command to keep his arm still, not wiggle his body, and listen or talk to ... Contrary to popular belief, gender and anatomical sex refer to two distinct and separate constructs as each develops at different times and in different parts of the body. John Money coined the phenomenon that codes for masculinity or femininity as Gendermaps (1). At a very early age and through an interaction of both nature and nurture, this gendermap imprint is established. What makes gender identification and sex so frequently parallel to each other is that gendermap evolvement is notably also induced by hormones that emanate from the developing fetus (1). Behavioral Differences: Though there are many similarities in the cognitive abilities of men and women, there are also discernible differences. For the most part, the behavioral differences between the intellectual capacities of the sexes have to do more with patterns of ability than the actual intellectual capacity (3). For one, attention and perception differ early on. Baby girls have been noted to gaze longer at objects than baby boys. Later they rely on landmarks and memory for guidance. Boys on the other hand, have a better visual spatial ability such as aiming at stationary or moving targets and detecting minor movements in their visual fields more easily. The fact that males perform better in navigation seems to agree with the possible theory that evolutionarily, many of these abilities would have been important for survival in the time of ... • 44. Franklin D Roosevelt Ethos Pathos Logos December 7, 1941 is a day that will live with us forever. On December 8, 1941, the next day, President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave one of the most patriotic speeches this country has heard. He used several different rhetorical devices, Ethos, Pathos, Logos, to strengthen his argument. His speech was an argument that was trying to get his fellow americans to stand up and fight for our freedom. He came across many groups of people who were totally against going to war but his speech was very logical and filled with emotion many of his fellow Americans backed his idea. Since, President Roosevelt had won over the majority of the americans he was able to get us ready to go to war and avenge Pearl Harbor. When the country is attacked, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In most patriotic or any speeches given in history that try to prove an argument must have a strong dose of pathos. Pathos is the key to his speech because when something as bad as the Attack on Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt was a able to rally his fellow Americans to bear arms and ready to avenge this attack. Especially when President Roosevelt said this, No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.(15) . President Roosevelt was very successful with this and got the clear majority of the people ready to go to war. Although there were some people disagreeing, but they were silenced by the majority of the people . Ethos he is able to persuade his fellow americans because he is the president of the US. He has gained his credibility because of the elections he has won and how respected he was from the great depression and he got the country out of it. He is also the only president in US history to have served more than 2 terms. As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us.(Roosevelt, 14) I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make it very certain that this form of ... • 45. Peter s Sigma 1. I would expect the two variables to be related because it is reasonable to hypothesize that the stress level of an individual is directly linked to their work, in which is where most of their day revolves around. By taking the the list of occupations at face value, I would assume or expect that individuals with roles in management, business or administration would self report a lower stress level compared to their peerswith occupations that may require a substantial amount of physical labour and manual work. As for the strength of the relationship, I would predict that the strength may be moderately lower than average because of other factors at play that could potentially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, it appears that this trend happens across all occupations. If we were to pick out values that recieved greater frequencycounts in terms of no stress at all, it would be the Sales /Services, Trades/Transport, Process/Manufacture fields, a liitle off of what we predicted. However, this is minor and the values are not too far apart from what people in the Business /Management sector reported. Therefore, this comes to show that the relationship between the two variables is very limited. I chose not to recode the variables because the way it is given is inclusive and exhaustive. Recoding may risk losing some valuable data in the process of refinement and change the results too dramatically. Even if they are related, it would be a weak correlation considering the Cramer s V value. Since the value is only 0.1172, this means that the relationship between the two variables is extremely ...
