Argument Essay On Social Media
Writing an essay on the topic of social media presents a unique set of challenges due to the
multifaceted nature of the subject. On one hand, social media has become an integral part of
modern communication, shaping the way people interact and share information. On the other
hand, it raises complex issues such as privacy concerns, the spread of misinformation, and its
impact on mental health.
Crafting a compelling argument essay on social media requires extensive research to gather
diverse perspectives and relevant data. Addressing the positive aspects, like its role in fostering
connections and disseminating information, while also delving into the negative aspects, such as
cyberbullying and the addictive nature of platforms, demands a balanced approach. Striking the
right balance between these contrasting elements is crucial for a nuanced and comprehensive
exploration of the topic.
Moreover, the dynamic nature of social media, with constant technological advancements and
evolving societal attitudes, adds another layer of complexity. Keeping the information up-to-date
and relevant is essential to provide a contemporary analysis.
Navigating through the myriad opinions on social media requires a critical evaluation of sources,
distinguishing between reliable information and biased viewpoints. Crafting a coherent and
logical argument necessitates careful organization of ideas to maintain a clear flow of thought
throughout the essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on social media demands a thorough understanding of its various
dimensions, a balanced exploration of its positive and negative aspects, and a critical approach to
evaluating information. The complexity of the topic underscores the importance of a well-
researched, thoughtful, and organized essay to effectively convey the complexities inherent in
the realm of social media.

Censorship Awakening
The book Censorship: Opposing Viewpoints edited by Andrea Nakaya explores
opposing viewpoints and arguments made by different authors. It provides several
arguments for and against my research paper. It helped me define what my opposing
views are so I will know which arguments to present to make my point. The book has
four chapters, contains 26 different articles and book excerpts in addition to the
introduction and chapter prefaces which provides background material. The articles
in each chapter are opinions of the individual authors, arguing for or against
censorshipof social, political and economic issues. Among these different chapters I
chose the title above about government regulation because it is related to one of my
sub topic in the research project paper. It supports my argument that regulation has
become one of the most common tool used to restrict media freedom around the
world.

In the article Government Regulation of Broadcasters Is a Threat to Freedom Adam
Thierer asserts that the government should not censor broadcast media. Thierer points
out that by restricting media in the name of protecting children, the government is
also unnecessarily and unconstitutionally censoring what millions of adults are
exposed to. He argues that parents should be the ones to impose censorship on
children, not the federal government. Thierer appeals that even if the lawmakers
have the best interests of children in mind, for some, this kind of decision might be
taken as an offense. Mainly because of the notion that government officials must do
this kind of parenting job for every American family. Thierer concludes, by asking
parents to stand up and tell the government to stay out of their business. He calls for
parents to get down to the serious business of educating their children and not to
depend on government for

It might be comforting for investors to hear that a majority of CEO Jamie Dimon s net

How Did Toussaint Loverture Contribute To The Haitian...
The Haitian Revolution was time of hectic blood shed war. Toussaint Louverture
was the leader of the Haitians out of slavery and free from the Spanish. The colony
of St. Domingue was a slave island, where slaves would work to make goods to be
sent to Spain in return for nothing. The people were treated harsh and done wrong
but by the efforts of Louverture they will become free. Louverture was the leader
of the revolution but failed to complete his duties because of capture Jean Jacques
Dessalines took over in 1802. He was captured before the war before the end of the
war. The Revolution lasted from 1789 1803 until everything was settled and St.

France tried to compromise with the Haitians by offering freedom to the slaves that
fought in the army but the wasn t really freedom. They would fight until they died
and would never have actual free will.
Toussaint was captured by Napoleon Bonaparte s brother in law Charles Le Clerc
(Katz), He was tricked into thinking he was going to talk about freedom for his
people but when he arrived to the boat, Le Clerc captured him and brought him back
to Napoleon were he was put in jail and later killed.
Louverture died without the completion of the rebellion. Toussaint Louverture died
in Fort de Joux on April 7, 1803, unaware that his army would rally behind the
leadership of his former general, Jean Jacques Dessalines, to win the colony s
independence for good . (The Louverture project) Dessalines brought the troops
together and took over has leader; he led the Haitians to freedom in 1803 for good.
Louverture was a very smart military leader and was one of the best strategizes of
all time. Toussaint like many military leaders was fighting for what he believed in
and what he thought was right. He was a slave and knows how it was to be

Pricing strategies are important because maximizing profits is the goal but
keeping the prices reasonable for consumers. Pricing strategy has been based on
historical rates; the menu and pricing had been consistent for the past five years.
This year, the student managers did an analysis of product pricing and local stores
and opted to alter the pricing of select item which impacted returns. Pricing
analysis determined customers still purchased comparable quantities of the same
items. For example, one popular item Pirate Concession sells is a walking taco.
This item is a combination of fritos, chili, cheese and sour cream. The price to
prepare this item is $1.01 and was traditionally sold at $2.00 for a $0.90. Student
managers chose to raise the price to $2.50 and sales of the item did not alter. Profit
on this item increased an average of $32.00 per game. The markup percentage
increased from 98% to 147%. Student managers wanted to increase prices on candy
offerings. Traditionally, candy bars have been sold at $1.00 and are purchased from
the supplier for $0.33, a 200% markup. The primary consumers for candy is a young
customer, whom of which often obtains the dollar from their parent/ guardian. This
year, the management team has decided to leave pricing consistent, even though the

Renewable Sources Of Energy As Being Sustainable.it
This essay seeks to identify a number of challenges which are encountered when
trying to identify what a sustainable source of energy is. To do this, it first briefly
states ways in which the term sustainable energy has been interpreted by various
bodies and individuals and ways in which people seek to identify an energy source
which is truly sustainable. This essay seeks to point out the flaw in classifying all
renewable sources of energy as being sustainable. It will achieve this by comparing
two energy related projects, proving how sustainable a non renewable source can be
and vice versa. Lastly, it will prove ways in which different people s misconceptions
can affect further progress with these energy related projects.
A number of suitable definitions of sustainable energy run through this essay.
Sustainable Energy has been defined as; A living harmony between the equitable
availability of energy services to all people and the preservation of the earth for
future generations (Tester, Drake, Driscoll, Golay, Peters, 2005). This from my own
point of view is the most accurate definition by far. Pointedly, it is in contrast with a
number of definitions; for example this one by Denzil Walton stating that;
Sustainable energy is regarded as the system of producing, transporting, distributing
and consuming energy in a way that promotes a reduction in the rate of consumption
of non renewable resources which lead to environmental degradation while providing

My Personal Quest For Knowledge
Knowledge. A powerful weapon overlooked by many people. I hope one day, as a
society, we can come together and use education to change the world. We could
end poverty, inequality, disease, and bring a new era of peace to a planet that has
been fighting itself for too long. As a student and officer of both Biology Club and
Tri Beta, I hold personal responsibility to expand my own knowledge on a daily
basis and try my best to reach out to the scientific community as well. My personal
quest for knowledge has been ongoing since the first day I picked up a science
book. I have never been more interested in any subject. It truly spoke to me. At a
college level, there is a magnitude of opportunities. I had the opportunity to
participate in the Student Dissector program on campus in the Spring of 2015, I
visited the Stanford Cadaver Lab with Biology Club this semester, and I traveled to
see a talk by the world renowned American astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, and
science communicator, Neil deGrasse Tyson. While I believe expanding my own
knowledge is of the utmost importance, I have more passion for trying to educate
and fascinate the scientific community. I have done so through many events I have
volunteered at and for some I have organized. In the Spring of 2015 I participated in
the 1st Annual Student Seminar Series inspired by the world famous TED Talks.
This was a very exciting opportunity for me to communicate something I was
passionate about to an audience in an

the traits that Edmund showed of guilt is when he realized all of the suffering that he

Disadvantages Of Paranoia
Disclaimer: This article is not going to be serious, but after you finish reading it,
you will understand why recruiters are paranoid beings, why we sometimes act
strange, and you will find out why it s not our fault. And if you are recruiter reading
this article, do not take this article personally. It s all in good fun. :)
In this world only the paranoid survive. Dean Koontz
There are two types of recruiters out there: recruiters working for staffing agencies
(including headhunters/freelancers) and recruiters working for companies. Their
state of paranoia is very similar but there are a few slight differences.
Agency Recruiter
Most recruiters around me start in agencies. This is where you learn more about the
recruitment field. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This lets you know what the candidate is planning to do so you are not surprised.
You will be more present during your discussion with the candidate and when you
hear the same story that you heard many times before, you are going to know how
the discussion ends. Paranoia makes you a much more efficient and detailed
recruiter. It will affect your pipeline and time to fill, because if you have gut feeling
that at the end the candidate is not going to join your company, you are not going to
stop your search. You will continue to build a strong pipeline so you don t have to
start the search from the scratch when the candidate calls you with the bad news that
you already know.
The longer you spend in recruitment, the less you say to your colleagues I never saw
it coming and the more you say I told you so.
In our life, we are candidates many times and as candidates we should be honest
with our recruiters and not make them more paranoid. If you have more offers, if
you are not sure if this is the right job for you, etc., do not be afraid to speak up. Call
and tell your recruiter the truth about what is going
Healthcare Professional And The Healthcare Consumers
This essay will discuss how the concept of resilience developed and recommended to
imply for the healthcare professional and the healthcare consumers. Also the factors
of the concept of resilience will be discussed what is the risk factors and protective
factors and how the concept of resilience attributes to healthcare professionals and
healthcare consumers.
Resilience is the concept to used to explain after an observation was made when
some children were more invulnerable then other children in same or similar
hardships and adversities . Some were able to achieve their goals and move
forward, whereas others went under. Resilience is an ability to bounce back from
adversities and it can create positive outcomes disregards the problem. Especially
being resilient in health profession refers to the ability to maintain personal and
professional wellbeing in the face of on going work stress and adversities. The
researchers researched on resilience to find out how resilience is present in some
people and whether the resilience is an innate character of the person or the result of
a process of interaction with the environment. And is resilience can be taught or
somehow imparted to others. After the observation was made the researchers have
established the factors to establish the concept of resilience. The risk factors and the
protective factors have been defined and the theory have been changed throughout the

Essay on Compare and Contrast Chinese and Japanese
Mythology
Chinese and Japanese Mythology in Life Classic Chinese and classic Japanese
mythology are quite similar, in fact, they have more commonalities than differences.
As examples, one can compare and contrast the two mythologies in terms of
characters, form and structure, creation myths, and mythology s relevance to life.
Animals and dragons also appear repeatedly in Chinese and Japanese mythology. In
this paper it will be shown that Chinese and Japanese mythologies are more similar
than different. The characters in both Chinese and Japanese myths have similar
personalities and reactions. For example, heroes in both mythologies use tricks,
cunning schemes, and intelligence in general achieve their goals, instead of just force

And although Chinese dragons are powerful fighters, they choose not to fight.
Chinese mythology has several distinctive qualities, one of the most individual is
the fact that Chinese myths are very concise: a single myth might only be one page
long, but tells a story that could take up two or more pages. For example, the
sentence, The Wise Old Man at the River Bend stopped the foolish old man shows an
entire short scene. Japanese myths, on the other hand, are more story like in their
structure, and they are told simply. In fact, the Japanese myths are told so simply and
this author believes that they can be understood by children. Also Japanese myths
have more of a definite beginning, middle, and end.

Environmental Impact Of Genetically Modified Crops
One can argue that genetically modified crops are essential in today s world. The
rapidly growing global population creates an immense demand for crops, and with
the amount of available land for agriculture in steady decline; it is imperative that
each acre yields the maximum amount of crops possible. The book Environmental
Impact of Genetically Modified Crops by Ferry, N. Gatehouse, A. argues that the
...increasing demands on natural resources and food production, has made the use
of new technologies such as GM crops in the agricultural sector essential in many
world areas (Ferry, N. Gatehouse, A. 2009, P. 70). If genetically modified crops were
harmful to consume, then surely they would not be so commonly adopted and
essential in many parts of the world. Genetically modified crops are so common that
according to Melissa Harris Perry of MSNBC, 94% of Soy is genetically modified in
the US along with 90% of cotton, 95% of sugar beets and 88% of corn (M. Harris
Perry, MSNBC, April 28, 2013). To further advocate for the safety of genetically
modified food, Ramez Naam, a professional technologist and author of The Infinite
Resource asserts that major scientific bodies such as The National Academies of
Science, The American Medical Association and even the French Supreme Court
could not find evidence that GMOs are harmful when consumed by humans. It is the
reason why genetically modified foods haven t required labels thus far (R. Naam,
MSNBC, April 28, 2013). Genetic

The Eiffel Tower And The Tower
The Eiffel Tower As you know, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most prominent
aspects and statues in France. This tall piece of beauty was built on March 31,
1889. It s made of more than 18,000 iron pieces. The man who designed it was
Alexandre Gustave Eiffel and when it was first built his daughter climbed it and
discovered there are 1,710 steps. Alexandre led the team that developed the plans and
also designed the metal framework of another landmark the statue of liberty. Paris,
France, where the tower is located and it brings a lot of tourists, thus causing a lot of
foot traffic. When many people go to France, their main objective is to see the Eiffel

The Real Lincoln Essay
Abraham Lincoln s presidential career was full of questionable actions. Thomas
DiLorenzo author of, The Real Lincoln discusses Lincoln s actions regarding racism,
his refusal to emancipate the slaves, his continual tendency to act independently of
Congress, and his radical reconstruction after the Civil War. DiLorenzo attacks each
of these topics in his book and proves that Lincoln had his own agenda, and was not
the picture perfect president everybody thought that he was.
The overall theme of chapter two is the opposition that Abraham Lincoln and most
Northerners had about racial equality. This theme is made clear very early on in the
chapter. Lincoln himself states: the best use of the new territories is housing for free

DiLorenzo makes it a point that equality for blacks is none of Lincoln s concerns.
Abraham Lincoln had no clear intentions of emancipating the slaves unless he felt
that it was truly necessary for him to do so. For example, look at the expulsion of
Union General John Fremont who was in charge of the federal government s
military efforts in Missouri. The Union General created an act on August 30th, 1861
to deter the Confederates from their guerilla warfare. This act granted him Marshall
Law throughout the state and gave him the ability to confiscate property and declare
slaves freemen . This angered the Commander In Chief. As a result, Lincoln removed
the General s act and stripped him of his command on November 2nd, 1861.
DiLorenzo put great emphasis on the point that Lincoln was not going to willingly
emancipate anyone, and most of all, that he would not have anyone under his
power doing so either. DiLorenzo also points out that Lincoln only admits any
action regarding slavery will take place unless it is done solely to preserve the
integrity of the Union. His actions made it evident that Lincoln was now willing to
ignore the Constitution and claim more doctorial powers. As he stated over and
over, his concern with the issue of slavery was motivated by a desire to use the issue
to save the Union, which was a euphemistic way of saying that he wanted to

The question of whether or not people with intellectual disabilities should bear
children is nothing new. Court ordered sterilizations of the intellectually disabled
were commonly practiced during the first half of the 20th century as eugenics
movements swept the globe. It was assumed that people who had intellectual
disabilities were not capable of being good parents and would conceive children who
also had a disability. This population of people was not desirable and fell victim of
eugenics, which also happened to be gaining popularity in Nazi Germany. As most

Sutton Hoo Vs Beowulf Analysis
When the Sutton Hoo burial site was discovered in the summer of 1939, the quality
and quantity of the burial surpassed any site previously discovered and therefore
drew much attention in the archeological community. The richness of the artifacts led
some to believe that it was the burial site or someone high and wealthy like a king.
Around the same time more translations of Beowulfwere being published and the
epic poem was one of the few written records of the old English times, so naturally
people tied this ancient site, dated to a similar period, to the literary text. The
connection between the two persists even with the lack of evidence and the
ambiguity around the facts of both the text and the site. Though using the

One way that Sutton Hoo improved people s understanding is that it validated
some of the cultural descriptions and practices found within Beowulf. Before the
discovery of Sutton Hoo people often wrote the poem off as a fanciful tale
however the rich gold treasure from Sutton Hoo brought the immediate recognition
that descriptions of lavish burials and gold adorned armour in Beowulf could no
longer be dismissed as poetic exaggeration or folk memories of an age of gold
before the Anglo Saxons came to England (Cramp 57). Because of the finding of
the cenotaph people began to reguard Beowulf as a historical reference. However,
some negative effects also stem from the assumed connection between the two. With
the discovery of the artifacts people began to translate the poem into modern
lanuages differently, adding more descriptions of precious metals and wealth that
the text does not directly suggest. For example, In a passage describing burial
treasure from far off lands, the translator s words bright gold and silver fit Sutton
Hoo...but it is alien to Beowulf (Frank 55). This is where the historical evidence of
both the text and the site can limit or change the understanding of the time period in
untrue or unprovable

Since lymphatic filariasis is not commonly found in America, this drug is no
longer approved by the FDA and can only be obtained by a physician if lab tests
come back positive for the infection. When the drug is administered, there is a 1 or
12 day treatment of DEC. This drug does not kill all adult worms, but can prevent
the infection from spreading. Areas that are at high risk for becoming affected are
treated through a process called preventive chemotherapy that uses 2 medicines:
albendazole and ivermectin (or in some cases DEC). This medicine combination
clears all microfilariae from the bloodstream and thus can prevent the further of
transmission of this infectious disease. Other treatments aside from taking DEC can
be the following: washing the swollen area with soap and water daily, elevate the
affected area in order to improve lymph flow, and disinfect any wounds that may arise
by using antibacterial.
Present day research on Lymphatic Filariasis
Recent research shows the transmission of lymphatic filariasis in high risk
populations has dropped by 43% since the start of GPELF. Before GPELF, 81
countries were deemed as being common for lymphatic filariasis. From 2000 to
2013, over 5 billion treatments were delivered to a targeted population of about 984
million individuals in 56 countries, which reduced the transmission. Other research
suggests that 73 countries are still common for this disease and out of those 73, 17
have proposed strategies to eliminate the transmission of
Retinal Vascular Imaging Essay
Abstract
Retinal vascular imaging is useful in detecting Microvasular abnormalities. It shows
several predictors of diseases and potential for understanding other markers that
might fit into what happens when we age, develop a disease or health issue. Retinal
and cerebral microvasculature have common physiological properties. They are
highly similar metabolic active tissues, and are homologous in structure. There are at
least two viewing forms for retinal vasculature 2D and 3D . 2D being more flat while
3D shows outlines, fuller imager quality and in depth structures of the retina. Retinal
imaging has been helpful in several diagnoses of health such as hypertension,
cardiovascular diseases, obesity and the effects of aging. Outlook for retinal vascular
imaging looks good as it is being applied to new ideas and concepts.
Introduction
Microvasular veins are some of the small veins in our body, referred to as vessels
that form a network between the arterioles and venules located in the retina and
body. The micro vasculatures of the brain and retina have common physiological
properties, they both have high metabolic active tissues, similar embryological
origins and are homologous (Meier, M. H. et al, 2013). Both vascular networks share
similar vascular regulatory processes (Lassen, 1964; Hardy et al. 1997; Delaey Van de

insight to our body, which we still only know very minimally about. There are tons
diseases and health issues that still have no warning signs or
Homelessness and Poverty Essays
A house is simply a structure where one lives, sleeps and eats. A home is a
structure accumulated with love, memories, and lessons learned. Homes have
stopped being homes. Now they are real estate. (Quindlen) These structures are no
longer viewed as places of experience and reminiscence, they are given a literal and
unemotional purpose. Perhaps the reason as to why nearly one million people are
homeless is because they are no longer provided with the pure substance of what a
homerepresents. A home is everything , one cannot be a fulfilled individual without
one for it offers a sense of self, demonstrates a loving relationship and provides an
unfailing feeling of entitlement.

A home is comparable to a diary. One can come home to it and express all the
emotions present. A bond is formed amongst a home and an individual because when
one has a bad day, they can come home to the familiar essence that comforts their
pain. Homes help those accept and receive love. A home is a place of comfort, which
is often a characteristic of love. One s home is where memories are formed.
Though a home doesn t have emotions, it remains a support system that one
willingly accepts everyday. Homeless individuals don t experience this unique
love. They are deprived of it. In On Compassion , Ascher states He does not know
his part . The homeless man has never been on the receiving end of love from a
home. He has never experienced the embrace of a gift and therefore cannot accept
the love and compassion the woman is giving him. Home is where the heart is and
where there is no home, there is no heart.
Homes help provide consistency and a sense of ownership. That was the crux of it;
not size or location, but pride of ownership. Painted blue. The size of the home isn t
essential. The simple ability to make a decision in something that is solely yours is
fulfilling. It gives one a sense of accomplishment and responsibility knowing they
have contributed to something real. And yet it is precisely those dumb things that
make it what it is a place of certainty, stability predictability, privacy... That is
everything. The home will be there, night after
African American Shortcomings In America
Of course, those Korean immigrants were only fighting for their own economic
survival in America, too. Yet the assertion was understandable: during the 1970s and
1980s, deindustrialization, which brought unemployment to the middle class, would
only exacerbate the conditions of Los Angeles most impoverished. The few
remaining jobs it left to the slums had been seized and hoarded by Korean
immigrants. In the reality of the situation, however, African Americans, despite their
efforts and an ongoing movement for civil rights, were simply incapable of achieving
the same level of entrepreneurial success of Korean Americans during this time
period. The reasons for their shortcomings in Koreatown, in addition to lacking higher
education and professional job experience many Korean immigrants had at their
disposal, were primarily due to the deeply ingrained institution of prejudice against
African Americans. African Americans were helplessly vulnerable to racism
regardless of how hard they worked, they would struggle to compete with other
minority groups. Nevertheless, African Americans continued to criticize Korean
Americans as they accumulated the capital and social mobility necessary to move out
of Koreatown. The neighborhood had proved itself a valuable tool for Korean
entrepreneurial ventures, but it still remained a poor urban slum. Besides thriving
Korean businesses, historians Nancy Abelmann and John Lie discovered that
Koreatown was home to the highest crime rate in all of Los Angeles, and a median
household income which was half the California state average and even lower than
that of South Central Los Angeles. Other than to keep families perpetually wary, the
district s poor and dangerous conditions served to question Korean businesses for
their seemingly nonexistent contributions on the surrounding community. While
Korean merchants certainly could have helped raise Koreatown out of poverty, they
instead escaped with their families to wealthy suburbs as soon as they had acquired
enough capital. These suburban homes might have marked the first milestones for
Korean immigrant families, but more importantly, they justified African American
claims of stolen economic opportunity and further developed
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ( Ptsd ) Essay
Post Traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) affects thousands, from abused children to
men and women in the military. PTSD can be caused by physical and or emotional
trauma, it is not exclusive to one race, gender or age group. PTSD can effect anyone
who is exposed to severe trauma and is diagnosed at alarming rates. What
neurological damage is caused, where in the brainis this damage caused and how is
it studied? With modern science we are able to view how Post Traumatic stress

Post Traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common mental health condition
developed after a server emotion or physical trauma. The effects of PTSD include
nightmares, flashbacks, feelings of detachment, depression, and anxiety. Symptoms
are broken into three categories. The first are re experiencing symptoms, they can
include reliving the traumatic event, through flashbacks, and nightmares. The second
type are avoidance and numbing symptoms. Avoidance of things and places that
remind one of the event, detachment emotionally from loved ones and bouts of
depression. Finally there are arousal symptoms such as being constantly on guard,
outburst of anger and irritability. Due to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan over the

Adam Smith
Adam smith is a man that lived in the seventeen hundreds and was considered a
economist, philosopher, and a father of capitalism. He was a key figure during the
Scottish Enlightenment era. His date of birth is unknown but his baptism was
recorded on June 5, 1723, in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. He is well known for writing a
book called The Wealth of Nations which is referred to as the Bible of capitalism. He
went to a school named the Burgh school of Kirkcaldy and then went to two different
universities. Adam Smithhad a great impact on the economy of many different
nations. Little is known about Smith s childhood and his personal views later in life.

He published The Theory of Moral Sentiments which was a book about how human
morality depends on sympathy between agent and spectator. This meant that he didn t
think humans had but morality sense but they had a mutual sympathy. After this
publication many wealthy students left their schools to go to the school Smith had
attended. He began to give more lectures about economics than morality after he
became popular. He believed that a nations wealth was decided by it labor instead
of the quantity of gold and silver a nation had which supported a theory called
mercantilism that dominated Western European economic policies at the time. He
eventually wrote a book about this that was called An Inquiry into the Nature and
Causes of the Wealth of Nations . Debates between classical and neoclassical
economists about the message of the book have gone on for a long time. His book
was criticized by Alfred Marshall for his definition of economy. He argued that
man should be just as important as money, services are just as important as goods,
and there should be a focus in human welfare as well as wealth. After Smith s death
most of his work was burned like he requested so little is known about him apart

How Does Lee Encourage The Reader To Admire Tom

In Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird, an unjust society is working to imprison a
wrongfully convicted African American, apart from a few citizens and lawyers
yearning for a just conclusion to the case of Tom Robinson. This novel encourages
the reader to admire Tom Robinson for his determination to help someone in need,
regardless of the black/white divide that has brought him scrutiny. It also persuades
the reader to pity Tom, because of the sad, yet inevitable end to the case. Tom was ...
a dead man the minute Mayella ... screamed. It can also be noted that the reader
should admire Atticus, for his willingness and determination to help Tom in his case,
although, he knew it would never be possible to save him from his inevitable end.

Alfred Hitchcock s Movie, Psycho and its Impact on the Film Industry
The 1960 s marked a big change in American cinema. With the collapse of the
Hollywood Studio System came a weakening of censorship laws; sex and violence
moved from obscurity to the forefront of mainstream cinema (Nowell Smith 464).
Although it quickly became clear that a market existed for such films, the earliest
attempts to foray into the world of modern cinema were met with ambivalence. Alfred
Hitchcock s Psycho, made in 1960, was one of the first of many to depict sexuality
and violence in a graphic manner (Nowell Smith 491). Although the youth market
was ready for such a change, the older audience resisted the modern trends. For this
reason, Psycho was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he put it: Our big problem...is trying to make the censors understand that the
young people are much more sophisticated than they used to be (Kapsis 58).
Hitchcock explained the reason for filming a woman wearing only her under
garments in the opening sequence of Psycho: Audiences are changing....The
straightforward kissing scene would be looked down at by the younger
viewers....Nowadays you have to show them as they themselves behave (Hitchcock
1). The director was keenly aware of how audiences responded to his films (Rebello
163) and sought to maintain their interest. He was among a handful of Hollywood
filmmakers who deliberately sought out innovative composers (Nowell Smith 258);
for Psycho, Hitchcock hired Bernard Hermann who wrote a modern score which
challenged the norm. The title itself, fifties and sixties slang for the violently
psychotic, suggested the imminence of a new generation (Brill 200).
Fully aware that his film was unconventional and daring, Hitchcock used the media
to sell his film to a younger, fresher audience (Kapsis 13). It was advertised as:
Alfred Hitchcock s greatest, most shocking mystery with a galaxy of stars (Greene
1). The stars themselves (Janet Leigh, Vera Miles, and Anthony Perkins) were of a
younger generation than the top stars Hitchcock had previously employed for his
films (Finler 131). Posters for Psycho featured a scantily clad Leigh wearing
Romeo and Juliet, Baz Luhrmann
I believe that Baz Luhrmann has created a very effective prologue and version of
Act 1 Scene 1 of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, using visual images and landmarks
along with the language to aid the audience in understanding the story. Using the
media throughout, Luhrmann makes the situations easier for the audience to grasp,
and in turn, relate to. The film begins with the camera zooming in on a television.
The prologue is spoken by a black female news reporter. Using a coloured female
reporter is effective as it shows how universally important the story is. This indicates
the importance of the Montagues and the Capulets for their frays and fights to shown
on national television. Using the media makes the situation seem more real,... Show

All of this suggests their apparent immaturity, and fun attitude. The Montague boys
pull into Phoenix petrol station. The name Phoenix is significant as it shows that
often good things are born from the ashes, in this case, Romeo and Juliet s love for
each other, and an end to all the fighting. As they pull in, there is a clear shot of the
cars number plate, which reads В‘Mon 005 . The Capulets then pull into the petrol
station, in a more suave, sophisticated car; however they have a matching number
plate, this time reading В‘Cap 005 . This again shows competition between the two
families. One of the Montague boys climbs out of the car, and shows a sexual attitude
towards some nuns. This indicates that they have little respect for people. The
Montague has a black eye, which shows that he has been in a recent fight, most
probably with a Capulet. Abra and Tybalt then step out of their car. Immediately there
is an obvious difference in the two families, and their attitudes. The Capulets are more
sophisticated, whereas the Montagues are immature and up for anything. As soon as
the Montagues spot the Capulets, there is tension between them. This indicates how
much hatred has built up in the rift between the two families. Abra looks towards the
Montagues in a threatening way. The Montagues are quick to respond, and bite their
thumbs at the Capulets, a gesture that was
Gray Wolf Research Papers
While researching the gray wolf, I found out that it is actually a very touchy subject
in Michigan. The hunting of Gray Wolves has been a very controversial topic. Gray
wolves are native to Michigan but were nearly wiped out in the 19th and early 20th
centuries by hunting and state sanctioned bounties. In 1973, when Congress created
the federal endangered specieslist, only six wolves were known to still exist in the
Michigan wild, and gray wolves were considered an endangered species. By 2007,
the wolf population in the Upper Peninsula topped 500 far exceeding the recovery
benchmark of 100 set by the federal government, making the Great Lakes gray wolf
one of the most successful recovery stories in the history of the endangered species
list. The gray wolf actually came off the endangered species list in 2012, but as of
December 2014, has been relisted. At... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The measure was designed to suspend implementation of the wolf hunting law.
A month later, State Sen. Tom Casperson, introduced a bill to grant the Natural
Resources Commission the authority to designate animals as game species without
legislative approval. That bill cleared the Legislature and was signed into law in
May 2013 as Public Act 21. It basically circumvented the wolf hunt opposition s
initiative by putting in place a law that that could pave the way for another wolf hunt
even if voters overturned Public Act 520. As a result, hunts were held in November
and December in three areas of the Upper Peninsula. Twenty two wolves were killed.

American women were repressed in society, and it took years for society as a whole
to recognize their rights as individuals. Women have always been repressed in

sons of Erik the Red, who established a settlement in Greenland after he was exiled

accounts they give are so different it is impossible to be certain of the details of his

He is thought to have visited Norway in around 1000 where he was converted to
Christianity by Olaf I, who sent him back to Greenland to convert the settlers there.
In one story, on his voyage to Greenland he sailed off course and arrived in a place
he called Vinland , because of the abundant grapes growing there, and the general
fertility of the land. In another the Groenlandia saga he heard of a land in the west
from an Icelandic trader, and went to find it.The precise identity of Vinland remains

The Pros And Cons Of Rhythm And Blues Music
In discussions of rhythm blues, one controversial issue has been whether song
covers of authentic rhythm blues were an ethical or unethical practice. On the one
hand, many will argue that these covers helped to distribute and promote the
rhythm blues musical movement, extending it to a much bigger audience. On the
other hand, others will say that the covers were just another way for large record
labels and big name artists to make money off the exploitation of the original
artists. My own view is that the use of these covers is a part of the musical process,
but this does not necessarily make it an ethical practice. The act of an artist taking a
song and seemingly putting their own little twist on it to make it seem like a new work

Sampling is when a new song will take a sample from an already established song
in order to add a different element to the new song and/or make it more enjoyable to

artist drops a mixtape, or a collection of songs that is not distributed for the purpose
of making music. There are some A list artists whose mixtapes would consist
entirely of sampled or remixed songs, Lil Wayne being the first one to come to
mind. In a sense, a remix is the sampling of a song s entire beat and production with
new lyrics being performed over them. During my free write I actually had a lot to
say about this specific topic regarding authenticity in the new age music, especially
in terms of remixes. My big question was, are remixes any more authentic than a
cover? I would say that they might be slightly more authentic than covers only
because a remix opens the possibility of the remix artist using the same production
to paint a completely different story than what the original artist did. This gives the
remix artist some new, quotable lyrics that can be directly tied with that artist
regardless of the beat playing under it. The best thing about remixes is that the
remix artist does not profit off of this, or if they do it is only when they get
permission from the original artist to do so with some sort of payment being given to

Endogenous Opioids And The Placebo Effect
Endogenous opioids are largely involved with the placebo effect, in which a patient
expects an improvement in their clinical status, and can result in the reduction of
pain without any real treatment. One of the main ideas behind this phenomenon is
the concept of expectation, which is a top down regulation of pain. An increase in
endogenous opioids can act upon the ON/OFF cells in the RVM, which can in effect
turn off the pain signal, or dampen it dramatically, hence the use of opioids as pain
killers. Proving the presence of opioids within the placebomechanism was determined
by using an opioid antagonist naloxone3, which was able to reduce the placebo effect
if there were strong expectation cues, but not as effectively when the expectation

his only way to escape the evil on earth. When he thinks of death, he sees it like the
recovery of a sick man, like the fist going out after an illness...like a fragrance of
myrrh, like sitting under an awning on a breezy death.... (Wilson 17). For him to
feel that death is near shows that his turn will be coming up next. Not only does he
feel depressed but he feels much of a relief; that the feeling of death is like
recovering from a sickness or not having to worry
Computer Engineering, Engineering And Astronautical...
erospace engineering pertains to aircrafts and spacecraft, it involves researching,
developing, constructing. It can be split into two major fields; aeronautical
engineering and astronautical engineering. Aeronautics is concerned with aircraft
that fly within Earth s atmosphere whereas astronautics is concerned with
spacecrafts. The focus of this Aerospace Engineering(Aeronautics) project and
production was to build an aircraft. It was to increase maneuverability while
keeping control and stability. There was a need for a much more advanced
transportation. Over the last year, four major disasters have damaged the name of
the aeronautics. First, there were the two lost Malaysia Airlines 777s, one due to an
errant missile fired from a war zone, the other due to circumstances that are still
unclear. Then came the AirAsia crash, as well as the recent loss of a TransAsia
plane in Taiwan. In mobility everything is added to the flight and drop of a flying
machine.
In result of these disasters the Janejet AT 9 is equipped with two turbojet engines,
a avionics computer bay, shock absorber and a FAA certified auto pilot raft and a
2016 fly by wire system. It is made up of aluminum and two curricular rotor blades
inside the sides of the plane. With these assets the Janejet AT 9 will have the ability
to hover, ascend, descend, take off and be prepared for crash landing ease.
As time continues to go on more and more, as technology is evolving aircraft also
need to. There have been

My Life At The Market
When we arrived at the market it was blistering hot. I had on a blue and white tank
top, some rugged shorts, and some flip flops. My family and I decided they wanted
to go shopping; my family consisted of my cousin, grandma, my mom, and me. My
aunt s birthday was coming up and my cousin, wanted to get her something nice.
I think I should buy my mom a chain for her birthday since, it s coming up. I have
this beautiful Minnie Mouse charm and I just need a chain, my cousin pleaded. If
we see a jewelry store we ll see if we can find you one, my mom stated. The market
was big, there was a whole bunch of stores crowded together and a narrow walkway
in the middle. I found a jewelry store three spaces down from the opening. ... Show

Her birthday is coming up and I want to get her a chain for the charm I bought her,
my cousin said. Well let s see what we got here, the owner said. He went around the
big table in the middle of the room. Opened one of the glass cases on the wall and
pulled out a black, round, necklace holder. There were all different sorts of chains
hanging from the stand gold, silver, long, short, and even rose gold. He sat the chains
on the table. He was across from us on the other side of the table, with a nice friendly
grin on his joyful face and I had my poker face on. Here are some chains that we
have, we all took a look at the chains.
I m looking for a silver chain, my cousin explained. The owner puts the stand back
and went under the counter of the glass cases to the far back wall. He pulled out a
stand with all silver chains.
Here you go, he exclaimed. We looked carefully at the chains. My cousin wanted a
chain not too big but, not too small. She finally narrowed her search down to two
pretty chains the right size for her.
I like these two, she said. The owner laid the two chains on the table. I m the only
one who was smart enough to look at the price tag. One was $250 and the other one
was $300.
300 dollars, For a chain? You have lost you your mind, I said bewildered.
My cousin and grandma carefully examined the price tags. I think the owner
realized they weren t happy and he wasn t going to make a sell when we shook our
heads and started to
Biblical Themes In Wonder Woman
Biblical Themes Found in the Wonder Woman Film (2017) The Wonder Woman
film, produced in 2017 and directed by Patty Jenkins; tells the story of a heroine who
fights to save mankind from the grips of an evil god, who threatens to destroy
mankind and strip them of any freedom they currently posess. Throughout the film,
there are several underlying messages and themes that can also be found in the King
James Version of the bible. While the films storyline is based on a mythological
Greek story, there are many themes presented that are very similar to biblical themes,
as well as themes that are contrary and vastily different than those found in the
biblical accounts. Although there are many biblically influenced innuendos in the
storyline of Wonder Woman, it is important to note that the original... Show more

In the Wonder Woman film, there is said to be a plurality of gods. Diana is just
one of many, created by Zeus. She is also capable of being destroyed, is not said to
be eternal, and is not able to create life. The God of the bible is presented as the
only God, who created all things in existence (Isaiah 45:5, John 1:3). Unlike
Diana, this God is said to be omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (a state of
being in all places at once). He is also said to be eternal, without an end (Isaiah 46:9
10, Hebrews 4:13, 1 Timothy 1:17, Psalm 90:2). There was also a great temptation
that was faced and resisted before the triumphant victories. However, the victories
were brought about in different ways. Diana saved mankind by destroying the god,
Ares. However, her saving didn t provide eternal life for anyone. According to the
bible, Jesus Christ saved mankind by giving his own life as a ransom, paying the
price for the sins of mankind and giving an opportunity for eternal life towards those
who believe (1 Timothy 2:5 6, Romans 6:23, John
King Arthur and Lancelot
Excalibur The sorcerer Merlin retrieves Excalibur from the Lady of the Lake for
Uther Pendragon, who secures a brief alliance with Gorlois, the Duke of Cornwall.
Uther s lust for Cornwall s wife Igrayne soon ruins the truce, and Merlin agrees to
help Uther to seduce Igrayne on the condition that he gives Merlin whatever results
from his lust. Merlin transforms Uther into Cornwall s likeness with the Charm of
Making. Cornwall s daughter Morgana senses her father s mortal injury during his
assault on Uther s camp and, while Igrayne is fooled by the disguise and Uther
impregnates her, Morgana sees through it, watching Uther as Cornwall dies in battle.
Nine months later, Merlin takes Uther s son Arthur. Uther pursues but is mortally

Years later, the undefeated knight Lancelot blocks a bridge and will not move
until he is defeated in single combat, seeking a king worthy of his sword. Lancelot
defeats Arthur and his knights, so Arthur summons Excalibur s magic and defeats
Lancelot, but Excalibur breaks. Arthur is ashamed of abusing the sword s power
to serve his own vanity and throws the sword s remains into the lake, while
admitting his mistake. The Lady of the Lake offers a restored Excalibur to the
king, Lancelot is revived, and Arthur and his knights unify the land. Arthur creates
the Round Table, builds Camelot, and marries Guenevere while Lancelot
confesses that he has also fallen in love with her. Arthur s half sister Morgana, a
budding sorceress and still bitter towards Arthur, becomes apprenticed to Merlin
in hopes of learning the Charm of Making from him. Lancelot stays away from the
Round Table to avoid Guenevere. He meets Perceval, a peasant boy, and takes him
to Camelot to become a squire. Sir Gawain, under Morgana s influence, accuses
Guenevere of driving Lancelot away, driven from us by a woman s desire , forcing
Lancelot to duel Gawain to defend his and Guenevere s honor. The preceding night,
Lancelot duels himself in a nightmare and awakens to find himself wounded by his
own sword. Arthur hastily knights Perceval when Lancelot is late to the duel, but
Lancelot appears just in time and defeats Gawain while nearly dying from his
wounds. Merlin heals him, and he rides

  • 2. Censorship Awakening The book Censorship: Opposing Viewpoints edited by Andrea Nakaya explores opposing viewpoints and arguments made by different authors. It provides several arguments for and against my research paper. It helped me define what my opposing views are so I will know which arguments to present to make my point. The book has four chapters, contains 26 different articles and book excerpts in addition to the introduction and chapter prefaces which provides background material. The articles in each chapter are opinions of the individual authors, arguing for or against censorshipof social, political and economic issues. Among these different chapters I chose the title above about government regulation because it is related to one of my sub topic in the research project paper. It supports my argument that regulation has become one of the most common tool used to restrict media freedom around the world. 3. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the article Government Regulation of Broadcasters Is a Threat to Freedom Adam Thierer asserts that the government should not censor broadcast media. Thierer points out that by restricting media in the name of protecting children, the government is also unnecessarily and unconstitutionally censoring what millions of adults are exposed to. He argues that parents should be the ones to impose censorship on children, not the federal government. Thierer appeals that even if the lawmakers have the best interests of children in mind, for some, this kind of decision might be taken as an offense. Mainly because of the notion that government officials must do this kind of parenting job for every American family. Thierer concludes, by asking parents to stand up and tell the government to stay out of their business. He calls for parents to get down to the serious business of educating their children and not to depend on government for

Pricing strategy has been based on historical rates; the menu and pricing had been consistent for the past five years. This year, the student managers did an analysis of product pricing and local stores and opted to alter the pricing of select item which impacted returns. Pricing analysis determined customers still purchased comparable quantities of the same items. For example, one popular item Pirate Concession sells is a walking taco. This item is a combination of fritos, chili, cheese and sour cream. The price to prepare this item is $1.01 and was traditionally sold at $2.00 for a $0.90. • 6. Renewable Sources Of Energy As Being Sustainable.it This essay seeks to identify a number of challenges which are encountered when trying to identify what a sustainable source of energy is. To do this, it first briefly states ways in which the term sustainable energy has been interpreted by various bodies and individuals and ways in which people seek to identify an energy source which is truly sustainable. This essay seeks to point out the flaw in classifying all renewable sources of energy as being sustainable. It will achieve this by comparing two energy related projects, proving how sustainable a non renewable source can be and vice versa. Lastly, it will prove ways in which different people s misconceptions can affect further progress with these energy related projects. A number of suitable definitions of sustainable energy run through this essay. Sustainable Energy has been defined as; A living harmony between the equitable availability of energy services to all people and the preservation of the earth for future generations (Tester, Drake, Driscoll, Golay, Peters, 2005). This from my own point of view is the most accurate definition by far. Pointedly, it is in contrast with a number of definitions; for example this one by Denzil Walton stating that; Sustainable energy is regarded as the system of producing, transporting, distributing and consuming energy in a way that promotes a reduction in the rate of consumption of non renewable resources which lead to environmental degradation while providing at socially

We could end poverty, inequality, disease, and bring a new era of peace to a planet that has been fighting itself for too long. As a student and officer of both Biology Club and Tri Beta, I hold personal responsibility to expand my own knowledge on a daily basis and try my best to reach out to the scientific community as well. My personal quest for knowledge has been ongoing since the first day I picked up a science book. I have never been more interested in any subject. It truly spoke to me. At a college level, there is a magnitude of opportunities. I had the opportunity to participate in the Student Dissector program on campus in the Spring of 2015, I visited the Stanford Cadaver Lab with Biology Club this semester, and I traveled to see a talk by the world renowned American astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, and science communicator, Neil deGrasse Tyson. While I believe expanding my own knowledge is of the utmost importance, I have more passion for trying to educate and fascinate the scientific community. I have done so through many events I have volunteered at and for some I have organized. In the Spring of 2015 I participated in the 1st Annual Student Seminar Series inspired by the world famous TED Talks. Dean Koontz There are two types of recruiters out there: recruiters working for staffing agencies (including headhunters/freelancers) and recruiters working for companies. You will be more present during your discussion with the candidate and when you hear the same story that you heard many times before, you are going to know how the discussion ends. Paranoia makes you a much more efficient and detailed recruiter. It will affect your pipeline and time to fill, because if you have gut feeling that at the end the candidate is not going to join your company, you are not going to stop your search. You will continue to build a strong pipeline so you don t have to start the search from the scratch when the candidate calls you with the bad news that you already know. The longer you spend in recruitment, the less you say to your colleagues I never saw it coming and the more you say I told you so. In our life, we are candidates many times and as candidates we should be honest with our recruiters and not make them more paranoid. If you have more offers, if you are not sure if this is the right job for you, etc., do not be afraid to speak up. Call and tell your recruiter the truth about what is going

Chinese mythology has several distinctive qualities, one of the most individual is the fact that Chinese myths are very concise: a single myth might only be one page long, but tells a story that could take up two or more pages. For example, the sentence, The Wise Old Man at the River Bend stopped the foolish old man shows an entire short scene. Japanese myths, on the other hand, are more story like in their structure, and they are told simply. In fact, the Japanese myths are told so simply and this author believes that they can be understood by children. Also Japanese myths have more of a definite beginning, middle, and end. Chinese creation myth In the beginning, the universe was a black egg where heaven and earth were mixed together, and in this egg was contained Pangu. He felt suffocated, so he cracked the egg with a broadax, and the light, clear part of the egg floated up to form Heaven while the cold, heavy part stayed down and formed Earth. • 12. Environmental Impact Of Genetically Modified Crops One can argue that genetically modified crops are essential in today s world. The rapidly growing global population creates an immense demand for crops, and with the amount of available land for agriculture in steady decline; it is imperative that each acre yields the maximum amount of crops possible. The book Environmental Impact of Genetically Modified Crops by Ferry, N. Gatehouse, A. argues that the ...increasing demands on natural resources and food production, has made the use of new technologies such as GM crops in the agricultural sector essential in many world areas (Ferry, N. Gatehouse, A. 2009, P. 70). If genetically modified crops were harmful to consume, then surely they would not be so commonly adopted and essential in many parts of the world. Genetically modified crops are so common that according to Melissa Harris Perry of MSNBC, 94% of Soy is genetically modified in the US along with 90% of cotton, 95% of sugar beets and 88% of corn (M. Harris Perry, MSNBC, April 28, 2013). To further advocate for the safety of genetically modified food, Ramez Naam, a professional technologist and author of The Infinite Resource asserts that major scientific bodies such as The National Academies of Science, The American Medical Association and even the French Supreme Court could not find evidence that GMOs are harmful when consumed by humans. It is the reason why genetically modified foods haven t required labels thus far (R. Naam, MSNBC, April 28, 2013). Genetic

  • 15. The Real Lincoln Essay Abraham Lincoln s presidential career was full of questionable actions. Thomas DiLorenzo author of, The Real Lincoln discusses Lincoln s actions regarding racism, his refusal to emancipate the slaves, his continual tendency to act independently of Congress, and his radical reconstruction after the Civil War. DiLorenzo attacks each of these topics in his book and proves that Lincoln had his own agenda, and was not the picture perfect president everybody thought that he was. DiLorenzo makes it a point that equality for blacks is none of Lincoln s concerns. Abraham Lincoln had no clear intentions of emancipating the slaves unless he felt that it was truly necessary for him to do so. For example, look at the expulsion of Union General John Fremont who was in charge of the federal government s military efforts in Missouri. The Union General created an act on August 30th, 1861 to deter the Confederates from their guerilla warfare. This act granted him Marshall Law throughout the state and gave him the ability to confiscate property and declare slaves freemen . This angered the Commander In Chief. As a result, Lincoln removed the General s act and stripped him of his command on November 2nd, 1861. DiLorenzo put great emphasis on the point that Lincoln was not going to willingly emancipate anyone, and most of all, that he would not have anyone under his power doing so either. DiLorenzo also points out that Lincoln only admits any action regarding slavery will take place unless it is done solely to preserve the integrity of the Union. His actions made it evident that Lincoln was now willing to ignore the Constitution and claim more doctorial powers. As he stated over and over, his concern with the issue of slavery was motivated by a desire to use the issue to save the Union, which was a euphemistic way of saying that he wanted to

The processed meat eaten today contains about 80% less nitrites than it did a few decades ago .(Gunnars) Meaning the food is a lot heathier then most people think today, Some processed meats like bacon due to the cooking process of high heat cooking the nitrates can turn into compounds called nitrosamines which is a carcinogen. So cooking bacon on lower heat for longer can significantly reduce the formation of nitrosamines also the microwave is been known as a safe way to cook bacon. Who doesn t enjoy a BLT sandwich, beef jerky, hotdogs or a nice ham during the holidays, spinach, lettuce and celery? What do all those have in common is the use of sodium nitrates to give the meats its color and flavor all love and natural sodium nitrates found in vegetables. Sodium nitrates prevents bacteria growth and can help to lower blood pressure. • 19. Sutton Hoo Vs Beowulf Analysis When the Sutton Hoo burial site was discovered in the summer of 1939, the quality and quantity of the burial surpassed any site previously discovered and therefore drew much attention in the archeological community. The richness of the artifacts led some to believe that it was the burial site or someone high and wealthy like a king. Around the same time more translations of Beowulfwere being published and the epic poem was one of the few written records of the old English times, so naturally people tied this ancient site, dated to a similar period, to the literary text. The connection between the two persists even with the lack of evidence and the ambiguity around the facts of both the text and the site. Though using the archeological discoveries... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One way that Sutton Hoo improved people s understanding is that it validated some of the cultural descriptions and practices found within Beowulf. Before the discovery of Sutton Hoo people often wrote the poem off as a fanciful tale however the rich gold treasure from Sutton Hoo brought the immediate recognition that descriptions of lavish burials and gold adorned armour in Beowulf could no longer be dismissed as poetic exaggeration or folk memories of an age of gold before the Anglo Saxons came to England (Cramp 57). Because of the finding of the cenotaph people began to reguard Beowulf as a historical reference. However, some negative effects also stem from the assumed connection between the two. With the discovery of the artifacts people began to translate the poem into modern lanuages differently, adding more descriptions of precious metals and wealth that the text does not directly suggest. For example, In a passage describing burial treasure from far off lands, the translator s words bright gold and silver fit Sutton Hoo...but it is alien to Beowulf (Frank 55). This is where the historical evidence of both the text and the site can limit or change the understanding of the time period in untrue or unprovable

It shows several predictors of diseases and potential for understanding other markers that might fit into what happens when we age, develop a disease or health issue. • 24. African American Shortcomings In America Of course, those Korean immigrants were only fighting for their own economic survival in America, too. Yet the assertion was understandable: during the 1970s and 1980s, deindustrialization, which brought unemployment to the middle class, would only exacerbate the conditions of Los Angeles most impoverished. The few remaining jobs it left to the slums had been seized and hoarded by Korean immigrants. In the reality of the situation, however, African Americans, despite their efforts and an ongoing movement for civil rights, were simply incapable of achieving the same level of entrepreneurial success of Korean Americans during this time period. The reasons for their shortcomings in Koreatown, in addition to lacking higher education and professional job experience many Korean immigrants had at their disposal, were primarily due to the deeply ingrained institution of prejudice against African Americans. African Americans were helplessly vulnerable to racism regardless of how hard they worked, they would struggle to compete with other minority groups. Nevertheless, African Americans continued to criticize Korean Americans as they accumulated the capital and social mobility necessary to move out of Koreatown. The neighborhood had proved itself a valuable tool for Korean entrepreneurial ventures, but it still remained a poor urban slum. Besides thriving Korean businesses, historians Nancy Abelmann and John Lie discovered that Koreatown was home to the highest crime rate in all of Los Angeles, and a median household income which was half the California state average and even lower than that of South Central Los Angeles. Other than to keep families perpetually wary, the district s poor and dangerous conditions served to question Korean businesses for their seemingly nonexistent contributions on the surrounding community. While Korean merchants certainly could have helped raise Koreatown out of poverty, they instead escaped with their families to wealthy suburbs as soon as they had acquired enough capital. These suburban homes might have marked the first milestones for Korean immigrant families, but more importantly, they justified African American claims of stolen economic opportunity and further developed

An increase in endogenous opioids can act upon the ON/OFF cells in the RVM, which can in effect turn off the pain signal, or dampen it dramatically, hence the use of opioids as pain killers. Proving the presence of opioids within the placebomechanism was determined by using an opioid antagonist naloxone3, which was able to reduce the placebo effect if there were strong expectation cues, but not as effectively when the expectation

They believe that the afterlife represents a new beginning, freedom, and any possible solutions to their own problem. In the poem, A Dialogue of a Man with His Soul, the narrator feels hopeless because he sees so much evil in the world and feels that there is no one to speak to about his problems. With whom can I speak today? I am weighted down with misery for lack of an intimate friend....The evil which roams the earth, it is without end (Wilson 17). The narrator feels that there is so much evil on earth that it will never come to an end one day. He sees death as his only way to escape the evil on earth. When he thinks of death, he sees it like the recovery of a sick man, like the fist going out after an illness...like a fragrance of myrrh, like sitting under an awning on a breezy death.... (Wilson 17). For him to feel that death is near shows that his turn will be coming up next. Not only does he feel depressed but he feels much of a relief; that the feeling of death is like recovering from a sickness or not having to worry

It can be split into two major fields; aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. Aeronautics is concerned with aircraft that fly within Earth s atmosphere whereas astronautics is concerned with spacecrafts. The focus of this Aerospace Engineering(Aeronautics) project and production was to build an aircraft. It was to increase maneuverability while keeping control and stability. There was a need for a much more advanced transportation. Over the last year, four major disasters have damaged the name of the aeronautics. First, there were the two lost Malaysia Airlines 777s, one due to an errant missile fired from a war zone, the other due to circumstances that are still unclear. Then came the AirAsia crash, as well as the recent loss of a TransAsia plane in Taiwan. In mobility everything is added to the flight and drop of a flying machine. In result of these disasters the Janejet AT 9 is equipped with two turbojet engines, a avionics computer bay, shock absorber and a FAA certified auto pilot raft and a 2016 fly by wire system. It is made up of aluminum and two curricular rotor blades inside the sides of the plane. With these assets the Janejet AT 9 will have the ability to hover, ascend, descend, take off and be prepared for crash landing ease. In the Wonder Woman film, there is said to be a plurality of gods. Diana is just one of many, created by Zeus. She is also capable of being destroyed, is not said to be eternal, and is not able to create life. The God of the bible is presented as the only God, who created all things in existence (Isaiah 45:5, John 1:3). Unlike Diana, this God is said to be omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (a state of being in all places at once). He is also said to be eternal, without an end (Isaiah 46:9 10, Hebrews 4:13, 1 Timothy 1:17, Psalm 90:2). There was also a great temptation that was faced and resisted before the triumphant victories. However, the victories were brought about in different ways. Diana saved mankind by destroying the god, Ares. However, her saving didn t provide eternal life for anyone. According to the bible, Jesus Christ saved mankind by giving his own life as a ransom, paying the price for the sins of mankind and giving an opportunity for eternal life towards those who believe (1 Timothy 2:5 6, Romans 6:23, John
