Furniture design is particularly dependent on trends....
Furniture design is particularly dependent on trends. During a period of time, the design or general
appearances of furniture design changes over the course of history which was influenced by
architectural style. Therefore, there are many different types of furniture design available in the market
nowadays including wall kitchen cabinets. Most wall cabinets are simply for storage but nowadays,
people require durable, sturdy, long lasting yet affordable furniture with improved functionality.
At present, in order to have the above mentioned qualities dictated by changing customer demand it is
necessary to develop new types of furniture with improved functionality. The desire in furniture style
to create new designs or different appearances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
French cleat is made from two piece of dimensional lumber that ripped to a specific angle where each
of it will be attached to the wall and cabinet. It can be cut to specific measurement and fit securely in
any kitchen cabinet with the greatest of ease because the cabinet can be designed with varying design
with movable features. Sancaktar et al. (2003) explained that the higher the strength of joints is
influenced by the taper angle at the end of lap zone.
The French cleats which are almost like scarf joint types of bonded joints exhibited excellent static
performance particularly under compression loading and cyclic fatigue characteristics. The
performance demonstrated the effectiveness of this configuration from a perspective design
(Broughton et al., 1999). However, designing an optimum French cleat using engineered wood
material is complex due to the physical properties and fiber direction that might influence the joint
performance.
LVL is an engineered wood product and has been developed as an alternative to solid wood.
According to Colak et al. (2004), due to the manufacturing process in the making of LVL, this
material produced a higher strength product and is available in unlimited length and sizes. In any
kitchen cabinet construction, LVL could be used advantageously in several area to match the quality
needed (Eckelman, 1993).

Twezers Lab Report
The predators in this experiment were three different types of tools, a tweezer, a wooden clothespin,
and a clothes clip. At the start of the first round, there were ten beans for each different type of bean.
Nearly all the white beans were taken out of the first round, only one survived. This was because the
white beans were large, non slippery, and easy to catch. Red beans and green beans were not as easy to
catch. Based on the data and the graph, the tweezers captured the most beans in this round and the
clothes clip had the least (w/ only one white bean). In the second round, every white bean was
captured and many red beans were captured. The green beans were not captured as often as either
other bean. From this, it can be concluded that the tweezers are the only predator that can efficiently
collect green beans based on the graph. As of round two, no other predator has managed to capture a
green bean. Also, the clothes clip captured zero beans this round. From the data so far, it can be
inferred that the tweezers have the highest ability to capture prey, while the clothes clip has the least
(clothespin is in between). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is interesting to point out that the clothes clip has only captured one bean the past two rounds and
had captured nine red beans this round. This is because the clothes clip gained a learned behavior that
allowed it to capture beans much more efficiently. From now on, only green beans are left and this
could mean the extinction of both the clothespin and clothes clip because only the tweezers can
efficiently capture the green beans. This is very demonstrative of the process of natural selection and
how organisms with the advantageous trait for survival will survive and pass on their genes, while
those with disadvantageous traits will not live to

Road Traffic Congestion in Singapore Essay
Straddling Bus (SB)
Current situation
Road traffic congestion is a major problem in Singapore and it results in delays in the transport system
such as buses not reaching their destinations on their scheduled time. Because of that, it also results in
commuters not getting to their destinations on time even though they already take the shortest route to
their destinations. Although the governmental organisations are putting in effort to deal with transport
capacity, the majority of the citizens are demanding for more efficient performance on travel time.
Otherwise, road users may face additional traffic jam conditions that affect their value of time.
Furthermore, public transport users may tend to pay additional transport fees to avoid the ... Show

Details of Service
Straddling bus is a double decker bus which provides passenger a complacent and thrilling experience.
It is designed to minimize the travelling time for residents. The Station of the SB is required to
implement from the bus stop to establish the future SB transport. All passengers are required to board
and alighting SB at station of the bus floor height similar to station of an MRT. To provide a fair and
reasonable transport, Straddling bus system keeps track of all residents location and destination to
calculate the transport fee via ez link card machine. Unlike buses, straddling bus will only provide
transport within the residents areas, it will not travel high way such as Pan Island Expressway (PIE),
Tampines Expressway (TPE) and East Coast Parkway(ECP).
Target Market
The SB is targeted at public commuters and those residents often encounter traffic jam. SB provides
residents an additional transport to facilities their needs and overcome the limitation of traffic

The Travels Of Marco Polo
The Travels of Marco Polo begins with the journey taken by Marco Polo s father and his uncle, in
which they go to present day china and meet Kublai Khan. The Polo s family were the first Europeans
that Khan got to meet. The Polo s represent the ideals of Europeans and Khan was very interested
about their way of life. He wanted to know everything they knew about European politics, religion,
and their justice system, And then he inquired about the Pope and the Church, and about all that is
done at Rome, and all the customs of the Latins (chapter 4). Kublai Khan willingness to learn about
Christianity was interesting. Different countries had their own beliefs. During these time periods,
people began to explore the world and enlighten others on how other cultures live. Kahn allowed his
people to belief in other religions. Not many leaders will allowed that. This is so different from the
romans, who persecuted Christians for their beliefs, fearing something different from them. Kahn
probably knew that allowing different religions gave his people more knowledge of other cultures. His
society was moving with the times. The country not being under one influence represented how the
word is. The world is populated with different types of people and cultures.
In 1271, the siblings and Marco Polo set off to come back to Kublai Khan with a specific end goal to
satisfy whatever is left of his solicitation, which was to convey hallowed oil from Jerusalem. It s not

Environmental Deforestation
The biosphere of the Earth is threatened by deforestation every year due to human expansion. Which
is the act of clearing a wide area of tress to a non forested area. Usually for either agricultural uses,
paper usage, or wasteland. Over 30% of the Earth is currently covered in forests. Unfortunately, it is
estimated that in 100 years, there will be no forests left. (Rinkesh. 2017)The removal of forests can
lead to imbalances ecologically, and environmentally, and it can result in a decrease of the biosphere
of the planet. As tress produce vital oxygen, and provide homes for wildlife, and over 1.6 billion
people, including medicine, fresh water, and food. Agriculture uses, illegal logging, fires, and fuel
wood harvesting are some of the main causes of deforestation. Mainly resulting in reduced
biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions, the disruption of water cycles, soil erosion, and impacts on
species and plants survival. In order to save our planet, and halt the removal of forests, solutions such
as hemp farming, and land re purposing need to be issued, and put in place. The consequences to the
ecosystem and its human and animal residents, due to the threats it faces, could alter our planet, and
way of life. (World Wildlife Fund. 2017)

Collagen Research Paper
Frequently it seems any discussions on human health these days seem to mention collagen. What is
collagen and how does it benefit the body? Collagen is very durable and is a fibrous material with a
glue like consistency. It comprises about one third of the proteins found in the body and includes
significant quantities of the two amino acids proline and hydroxyproline. The areas particularly reliant
on collagen include skin, bones and all the connective tissues found in cartilage and tendons. Collagen
health is depleted by such causes as trauma, pollution, menopause and ultra violet light from the sun.
Collagen Benefits The Skin Collagen benefits the skin by providing strength and elasticity. The
molecules in collagen look like microscopic ropes and it is these that give the strength to the parts of
the body that require ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Collagen Benefits Connective Tissues Collagen benefits active sportsmen and women by maintaining
the strength of connective tissues in their joints. The ends of the bones are covered by a layer of
cartilage, which acts as a durable lubricated pad to protect the bones as they move against each other
with the movement of the muscles. Cartilage is in fact a mixture of water and collagen. The weight
bearing function of cartilage and ligaments is improved by healthy levels of collagen; this is especially
significant in young athletes who need to keep their collagen topped up to ensure the combination of
extra activity and the growing process straining the joints does not affect their health. Recent research
in Germany has shown that a course of collagen capsules significantly helps athletes who have
suffered damage to their connective tissues. Collagen Benefits Our Bones Collagen is also found in
the structure of our skeleton and, as we age, our joints suffer wear and tear to the articular cartilage
(bone cartilage): this results in

Love Sick Play Analysis
The theatrical performance Love Sick directed by the polished Mr. Landmann and performed by the
talented pupils of Desert Hot Springs High School is a fascinating play filled with entertaining,
amusing and even dramatic scenes. I attended this humorous play on October 27 at 3:30 pm, the first

The play was predominantly about nine separate acts which were all relatively similar. All acts have
distinct backgrounds, but they all involve the two characters striving for true love regardless if the two
just met or they have known each other for years. In my opinion, the play went along smoothly and
everything was comprehensible, but the only event

The Importance Of Assimilation In America
Assimilation is the manner in which people of a cultural group start to lose their individuality that
makes them different from the more dominant culture, as they seek to fit in. America has been a
melting pot of different cultures for centuries, whether it was by choice, forced or for a better life.
History has proven that assimilation in America was not acceptable but that has changed over time.
During slavery, whites did not accept assimilation and did everything possible to keep it from
occurring. The white race was the superior race and everyone else was inferior. African Americans
were enslaved and made to work for the white man. Slaves were bought and sold like animals and
were thought of as property and not humans. White Americans made sure that slaves had no part in
becoming apart of the dominant race. There were laws in place that forbade interracial marriages. If a
child was born due to interracial mixing, that child was considered inferior. After the abolishment of
slavery and during the 20th Century, some things started to change slowly although Jim Crow laws
still separated whites and blacks. Nowadays, due to specific laws like the Title IV of the Civil Rights
Act which does not allow discrimination due to race, age or sex has made America slowly accept
diversity and other cultures. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commision which investigate and
prosecute cases due to discrimination against minorities has made the corporation revise their
guidelines so

The Fascination with Rock Music in The 1960s
Throughout the 1960 s, popular music empowered youth and emphasized this portion of the
population as a whole. As the cold war comes to an end in history, society s unnerve, especially among
the newer generations, assembled ideas in order to create a certain understanding of their desires.
However, unlike most of social uprisings in the past where demands were normally written through
official documentation, in the sixties, rebellion is introduced in a lyrical manner through Rock Music.
The fascination with this type of music reflects the controversy in times of war regarding race, gender,
and social class. The propositions that the lyrics in Rock Music request, influence society to the day,

where different cultures were respected (Eyerman and Jamison). It was songs like Dylan s Blowin in

How many years can some people exist
Before they re allowed to be free?
Later on, the day after Martin Luther King Jr. is assassinated James Brown gave a concert in Boston

through his song: Say It Loud I m Black and I m Proud (Shumway). His song was adopted by the

A Pro Versus Con Argumentative Article Essay
In America we currently have tax placed on our gas. However, with new changes in the automotive
industry, there have been ideas of changing the tax to a tax based on miles travelled rather than gas.
Mr. Earl Blumenauer and Mr. Phil Byrd both expressed their strong views on the topic in a pro versus
con argumentative article. Blumenauer and Byrd both built up their credibility by using strong
sources, including facts and statistics, and appealing to the readers emotions; however towards the end
of the article both sides had a slight flaw which weakened their credibility.
When analyzing both viewpoints of the topic, the credibility of the sources and appeals to ethos in the
article are very important. The pro side of the article was written by Earl Blumenauer, a sponsor for
the Road Usage Fee Pilot Program Act. After looking further into his profession, he works as a
congressman for Oregon. Since he is only a sponsor for the program, there are unanswered questions
as to if he is knowledgeable enough on the subject of these types of taxes. After further reading you
learn that he actually used his job as a representative to introduce the Pilot Programming Act to
congress. The program is taking place in Oregon, where they are beginning projects in hope of
switching over to a tax on miles travelled rather than gas. Whereas, the con side was written by Phil
Byrd, the chairman for the American Trucking Association and the president of Bulldog Hiway

Confidantes, Marriage, and Friendship in Pride and...
One cannot accomplish much without the help and opinions of people such as their friends, siblings,
or parents. This person, or confidante, must be willing to listen to and provide helpful thoughts and
feedback. In Pride and Prejudice, a novel by Jane Austen, Elizabeth Bennet is a heroine who is in
desperate need of a confidante. Jane Bennet, Elizabeth s kind and honest sister, becomes that person
Lizzy needs when she is feeling flustered. Jane perfectly fits the criteria of a confidante because she is
optimistic and sanguine, in which she can provide Elizabeth a different, more positive, approach to her

Although it may seem to the reader that Jane is idealistic or dishonest, she really says what is on her
mind. Jane truly believes all people are good spirited and that she will never be deceived by anyone.
In this way, the author uses Jane Bennet to give the reader a different perspective of a certain character
in the story: while Elizabeth is always criticizing the many characters in this novel, Jane is there to
deliver a contradictory statement about those characters. Mr. Wickham reveals to Elizabeth that Mr.
Darcy had prevented him from joining the ministry by refusing to supply the money Darcy s father
had intended to provide for Wickham. Upon hearing these revealing statements about Mr. Darcy,
Elizabeth is appalled and outraged at how selfish a man can be. Elizabeth then relates to Jane about
what she had discovered about Mr. Darcy but Jane provides her and the reader with a different, more
optimistic point of view: It is impossible. No man of common humanity, no man who had any value
for his character, could be capable of it. Can his most intimate friends be so excessively deceived in
him? Oh! no (Austen 74). Elizabeth s decision to believe Mr. Wickham originates her prejudice
towards Mr. Darcy into the novel. However, in the end, the reader finds out that Jane had actually been
correct in that Darcy can never have done such a horrible thing and that he had actually given
Wickham the money his father left for him. Jane Bennet is the perfect example of what a

Stereotypes In American Beauty
The film I will be analyzing is American Beauty written by Alan Ball. I will be discussing the
representation of men and the male body. This late 90 s narrative structure film American Beauty
narrates the changes in gender roles and how they have impacted society in contrast to the traditional
male bread winners and female homemakers of past times. The characters in this film are defined
through their sexuality in the roles they play. This film also relates to the theme of identity and
explores the expectations society has placed on stereotypes in how we function and how we identify
ourselves.
From the beginning of this film one can immediately see who wears the pants in the family. Lester
Burnham, a magazine writer who despises his job is frustrated with his marriage and has little sexual
contact with his wife Carolyn. Although, Lester is a male he portrays a traditional submissive female
role in this film. Carolyn, an ambitious real estate broker, who is also discontented with her their
marriage is having an affair with another realtor. She takes on a more male dominating role in the
family. In this active role, Carolyn becomes the strong central female character, assuming
untraditional masculine roles where men have been considered more active in earlier decades.

The Clarinet Research Paper
The clarinet is a single reed woodwind instrument with a cylindrical tube. The clarinet is a very
interesting instrument that plays good music. It is typically used in band ensembles. It is made out of
either plastic or wood. The reed is a part of the clarinet that it can t be played without. The clarinet
was originated a long time ago and it has an interesting manufacturing process.
The clarinet originated around 2700 B.C. in Egypt. The Egyptians created this instrument called the
zummara (sometimes called the memet). The zummara was a single reed instrument, much like the
modern day clarinet. Different than the clarinet, the zummara had two tubes instead of one. The first

First they they cut logs to 3 4 feet long then they have to season the wood. To season the wood they
either have to keep it in open air for several months or they dry it in a kiln. Then the logs are split and
sawed to the correct lengths of the clarinet body pieces. The body pieces look like long rectangular
blocks and pyramidal shapes for the barrel. These pieces are called billets. When the manufacturer
receives the billets, workers inspect the lot. Then skilled workers place the billets on a borer, which
drills a hole lengthwise through the center of each piece. (Clarinet). After they drill it, the wood then is
shaped like a cylinder. Then they make the wood smooth and they season the wood again. When the
wood is seasoned again they then cut it into the size of the actual clarinet. Then they paint it with
black dye. On the plastic models, they make the body parts for the clarinet through injection molding.
Then they melt plastic pellets and put them in the molds. Then they may have to fix it up a little unless
it came out of the mold perfectly. The next step is boring the holes. They use different drill bits for this
because not all the holes are the same size. Then they begin to construct the keys. They usually use
casts for this step. When the keys are finished they have put the pads on them. Then they mount the
keys on small posts and put them on the clarinet. They then put the final touches on the clarinet

Europeans, exchanging skills for resources. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner uses great word choice
to describe nature. Not only is his imagery good but he also uses personification to wind ice and water.
In doing so he is able to give emotion to nature thus playing a role in the emotion of the actual
characters of the story. All of these techniques paints a well painted painting of what is going on in the
story at the time. By studying enlightenment and Oronooko I realized what people practiced around
those times. You would think a lot of Christians would be honorable people but instead they weren t.

Supersaturated Lab
Unsaturated, Saturated, And Supersaturated Solutions Lab
Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to see the differences between unsaturated, saturated, and
supersaturated solutions.
Brief Background: The concepts used in this lab are solutions and solubility. Within a solution there is
a solvent and a solute. In this lab, the solvent was the distilled water and the solute was the sodium
thiosulphate pentahydrate. Within each test tube we dissolved sodium thiosulphate pentahydrate with
water to create a solution which was either saturated, unsaturated, or supersaturated. Saturated is when
the solution contains the maximum amount of solute therefore the dissolving equals the
crystallization. Unsaturated is when the solution contains less than the ... Show more content on

The second step was to place the test tube into the hot water and wait for it to dissolve. When it
dissolved, we took it out and placed on a rack to cool it. While the first test tube was in the water we
completed the other 2 test tubes. One by adding 2.5 3g sodium thiosulphate pentahydrate into a test
tube with 1ml of distilled water and stirring until all that would dissolve did and then let it settle. The
other we added 3ml of water to 0.2 0.3g of sodium thiosulphate pentahydrate and stirred until
dissolved then let settle. When all three test tubes were at room temperature we added a crystal of
sodium thiosulphate pentahydrate and observed.
Observations:
Test Tube A The test tube was hot when it came out of the hot water. It cooled to room temperature.
When we added a crystal of sodium thiosulphate pentahydrate the test tube heated up slightly and the
crystal completely dissolved.
Test Tube B The test tube settled and came to room temperature. We added a crystal of sodium
thiosulphate pentahydrate, there was no change in temperature and the crystal didn t dissolve.
Test Tube C The test tube settled and came to room temperature. We added a crystal of sodium
thiosulphate pentahydrate and it dissolved slightly. The test tube became slightly colder.

The Importance Of Lifelong Learning ( Lll ) And Continuing...
This essay will discuss the significance of Lifelong Learning (LLL) and Continuing Professional
Development (CPD) in relation to adult nursing. It has been suggested that LLL is too difficult to
define, however it has been suggested that it is participated throughout life. It is important to discuss
LLL, as it has many benefits within the healthcare system, as well as everyday life. This essay will
explore reflection as a skill important to adult nurses, as this is vital in order to evaluate their own
learning, which can encourage improvement of LLL. Reflection in action and on action can also
influence the successful outcome of LLL. The attribute chosen to discuss will be self motivation, due

Laal (2011) has put forward that in modern contexts, LLL is used in everyday life, including
classroom settings, in employment, with the family, and in wider society. This is important in order to
make CPD an easier task, as there are many different settings that utilise LLL.
CPD is vital in the field of adult nursing, as healthcare is frequently being modified and amended.
This is due to many factors, such as changes of policies, which results in changes to the way adult
nurses care for patients (Narayanasamy and Narayanasamy 2007). The purpose of these policies is to
ensure patients are being cared for in a safe environment. Additionally, nurses are required to keep up
to date with amended procedures in order to ensure patients are receiving safe and effective treatment
(Eason 2010). This is vital in order to ensure patient safety and efficient treatment, not only for the
benefit of the patient but also because nurses are responsible for issues arising with a patient s care,
and are potentially liable for mistakes arising from incorrect procedure. LLL is also imperative in
order to meet the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), as without which the
adult nurse would be removed from the register. These requirements are put into place in order to
ensure that the patients are as safe as possible in their environment. Adult nurses are also required to
keep up with important advances within the NHS (Narayanasamy and Narayanasamy 2007), such

Initial literacy assessment report
For this semester of TCH 209 I am working with a second grade girl named Yainany. After taking a
few running records I found out that she is at a level H reading level which would be the equivalent of
a high first grade reader. To get to know my student I printed out a reading survey and a get to know
you worksheet. The reading survey was asking questions about what genres of books she likes, what
are some of her favorite things (books, tv shows, animals, sports, characters, jobs, activities), if
reading is fun for her, if reading is easy for her, if she reads at home, and how she likes to read. The
get to know you worksheet had her color her own person based on some of her favorite things like her
favorite color, if she likes to read, her favorite subject, the color of her eyes, and how many siblings
she has. These helped me get to know her as a reader and as a person by knowing how she reads and
what interests her. One assessment that I did with my student was three running records. I did a Level
J book, a Level I, and a Level H book. For the first book, Level J, she got an 85% which was not high
enough to be her reading level. I then went to a Level I book and she got an 92% which was still not
high enough to be her reading level. The last book I did in my running records assessment was the
Level H book and with that book she got a 95% which was high enough to be her reading level and
she does a great job reading books at that level.

Puritans In New England
The Puritans were a widespread and diverse group of people who took a stand in the 16th and 17th
century in Europe. Their rise was directly related to the increased knowledge that that came to the
common people during the Enlightenment. As people learned to read and write, and as the bible
became more accessible to the commoners, many began to read the bible for themselves. The word
Puritan first came as a term for those who advocated more purity in the church. Under siege from
church and crown, it sent an offshoot in the 3rd and 4th decades of the seventeenth century to the
northern english colonies in the New World a migration that laid the foundation for the religious,
intellectual, and social order of New England. (history.com staff Delbanco) ... Show more content on

The basic beliefs of Puritans were Unconditional Election, which meant God chose who would be
saved and who wouldn t. A person could not persuade to change God s choice, and being a member of
the Puritan church did not mean you would be saved. Limited Atonement, which meant that Christ s
atonement did not extend to everyone, only those who were chosen to be saved by him. Only those
whom God elected received the salvation benefits of God s salvation. Irresistible Grace, Puritans
believed that once chosen by God s grace, you cannot resist it. Being chosen meant that a person had
found the right path to salvation. Being choses internally meant that God changed a person s heart.
Finally, Perseverance of the Saints, which meant a person elected by God s grace would never depart

Introduction
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a tasteless, odorless, and colorless toxic gas that is produced primarily as a
result of incomplete combustion of carbon material. Due to humans inability to perceive this gas CO it
is commonly referred to as silent killer. Inhalation of CO is the leading cause of accidental deaths in
the United States. Excluding deaths caused by fires, there are around 2,700 deaths as a result of carbon
monoxide poisoning annually. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that
around 450 deaths are caused by accidental CO toxicity every year. While the total number of deaths
seems low, an estimated 50,000 people in America visit the emergency hospital departments showing
signs of CO poisoning. Exposure to CO results ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It causes death by the CO binding rapidly to the haemoglobin (Hb) resulting in the
carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) formation. As a result, the blood s oxygen carrying capacity is reduced
leading to tissue hypoxia (Chand Meena, 2014). The presence of COHb changes the Hb s oxygen
affinity by altering oxyhemoglobin dissociation reducing the oxygen delivered to the tissues, leading
to tissue hypoxia. More importantly, other oxygen carrying hemeproteins such as cytochrome P 450,
myoglobin, and cytochrome c oxidase also compete with oxygen for binding sites (Caughey, 1970). It
has been demonstrated that cytochrome oxidase oxygen affinity causes impairment of mitochondrial
respiration. Even though the level of COHb is a vital clinical measure of carbon monoxide exposure,
the most crucial mechanism by which carbon monoxide causes toxicity is its combination with
cytochrome oxidase. In addition, carbon monoxide may produce toxicity by binding to myoglobin
causing impairment of the cardiac output and leading to cerebral ischemia. The dissociation of
carboxymyoglobin is slower compared to COHb because of CO s increased affinity for myoglobin

Lighting and all of the various camera angles combine with color and costume and music to create an
atmosphere that is compelling to the viewers and convey the history of a created man. The scenes I
selected on YouTube begin as he lies in Kim s bed in town and dissolve as he remembers how life was
in his early past. You see his inventor deciding to build a man, you see him teaching Edward, you see
his final gift to Edward before dying and leaving him alone, and you see Edward with Kim. The time
involved is 6.10 minutes. Throughout the film there is use of lighting and mise en scene to build the
audience reaction to what they see.
Tim Burton uses lighting, differing camera angles and music to contrast fantasy with reality and show
the strength of the characters. Burton uses lighting to show fantasy and reality in all of his movies.
In the film high key lighting represents regular humans. The lighting in town such as in Kim s room

normality of the town, even though true emotion is faked by some. It is also used to convey closeness

ability to brush and floss properly. #6: Why should malocclusions be treated? While some reasons
may be more geared toward the aesthetics of a smile, treating malocclusions is very important in order
to reduce a slew of issues. When teeth are crowded or the alignment is off, the ability to brush and
floss properly is reduced. Gum disease and tooth decay are much more prevalent in people with
malocclusions than without. If you have a crossbite, your teeth may wear unevenly, and teeth that stick
out can easily break or chip. Sleep apnea can occur because of a bite pattern being off, and over time,
it can pose severe health risks to you or your child. In the end, orthodontics can do more than just

Who Is To Blame For The Death Of Romeo And Juliet Essay
Do you believe that true love will be together forever? Sometimes that is true, but other times it is not
a good thing. In the book Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet fall in love but
it would never work out because their families are mortal enemies. Both Romeo and Juliet end up
killing themselves for each other, and Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence are to blame for the deaths of
the young lovers and why each one holds a big responsibility to the deaths. Romeo is the biggest
reason for the death of the young lovers because he came on to Juliet at the party. At the party for the
Capulets, Romeo went over to Juliet and was trying to seduce her by saying, If I profane with my
unworthiest hand/This holy shrine, the gentle sin this/My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand/To
smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss (1.5.92 95). If Romeo did not try to come on to Juliet then
she would of gone with Paris like her father wanted her to and Juliet would not of had to go behind
everyone s back and marry Romeo. Clearly, If Romeo did not come on to Juliet then none of this
would of happened, so that is why Romeo is the most responsible for his and Juliet s death. ... Show

God Grew Tired Of Us
A refugee is a person who was forced to leave their country. Whether it be from warfare or natural
disaster, their homes are no longer safe to live in, so they need to relocate elsewhere. Once someone
sets foot on the journey of becoming a refugee, they become vulnerable and dependent with no sense
of what the future will bring. In an attempt to accommodate them, first world countries with the
resources necessary to assist these refugees, are struggling to determine whether or not they should

are still alive. Having to live day after day with these weights on your shoulder would be a detriment
to anyone s emotional health. In the documentary, God Grew Tired of Us, John Dau, a Syrian refugee
came to America where he was able to live in an apartment, get a job, and receive an education. He

strange object in the sky that almost crashed into God s World? The councillors looked at one another

explanation. He did consider the position they were in and was sorely tempted to just not give an

Fursha is totally innocent. Another God sent it! This had the reaction of all the council members

this gave Sargon an idea. He grabbed a spear off the nearest Enforcer. You have blasphemed against

Why did you do that? Karjon eventually said. We were just debating a point. He did not deserve to

experiencing mental health problems because of the things they have experienced. Most of them have
never seen a mental health care professional and the few that have are few and far between. Until
recently the mental health care of these individuals was not considered, but has recently come to the

Starting in the year of 1215, when the rise of King John s new law system was put into place, he, with
the help of his barons, made sure no one, not even himself, was above the laws they created. In 1265,
Simon de Montfort invited representatives of surrounding towns and shires to his Parliament. These
events helped found the representative democracy we now use today. What was once a constitutional
monarchy with a king and queen deciding the rules of the land, is now a Parliamentary democracy
where there s one leader and all the people get a say in the way it s run. The representative democracy

A Position Of Influence On The American Prison System
Project Summary: The United States incarcerates approximately 2.3 million prisoners as of 2016,
much greater than any other country. Though this large prison population exists, the crime rate is
similar to other, similarly developed, countries. This problem can be, if not solved, significantly
alleviated by implementing, as much as possible, the types of policy present in the German prison
system, and others like it. This project would recommend solutions to those in a position of influence
in the American prison system, a way to efficiently implement German, and other similar countries,
prison policy and principles in a manner that is applicable to already existing American prisons. I
estimate that I would need approximately three weeks to research further into this problem and its
solutions, and to write the recommendation report proposed here.
INTRODUCTION
The United States is spending close to $80 billion a year on prisons and rehabilitation programs, a lot
of which is going to waste as shown by the 50% recidivism rate. This proposal will demonstrate the
need for a restructuring of the prison system, the sources available for inspiration to help solve this
problem, and the need for the recommendation report proposed here.
The United States has about 5% of the world s population yet it accounts for about 25% of the world s

Kurt Vonnegut uses Billy Pilgrim as the anti hero of the novel to show the books anti war point of

An anti hero is the protagonist of a book that is the opposite of the hero. They are graceless and
sometimes stupid. Billy Pilgrim portrays is anti hero trait and the anti war point of view when
Vonnegut writes, He had been saving Billy s life for days (34). Vonnegut is telling how Roland Weary,
who hates Billy, has to save him over and over again because he is to stupid to save himself. Also, war
is seen as ridiculous because Weary who doesn t even like Billy risks his life to save him just because
of his duty to do so.
Specific parts of the book add to the anti warism that it contains. One of these parts is when Vonnegut
writes, Above all, he wanted to be avenged, so he said again and again the name of the person who
had killed him (79). This part of the novel is telling about the death of Roland Weary. He told
everyone that Billy was responsible for his death. The soldiers should have been fighting the

and Leon s childhood. In many ways Leon is portrayed as an more immature figure than Mathilda.
Leon is a middle aged man who does know how to read or write, and finds extraordinary pleasure
from the most unornamented forms of entertainment, nor does Leon have any desires of sex or
relationships. 1Leon goes by to one rule no women no children, regardless of earning 5,000$ per
contract that is given to him. As a dedicated cleaner, Leon without doubt does not want change in his
life, but then as Mathilda realizes that Leon s profession is a hitman, her mission becomes clear, to
take revenge on Stansfield, for the death of her little brother.
The music in film is The Dark Side of Time, the theme from La Femme Nikita, about a girl training to
be an assassin. Mathilda desires to learn how to clean and is willing to work under Leon. Leon at first
declines Mathilda s trade, but ultimately concedes to be worn down. Leon begins to enjoy having

The Canadian Corps and CEF
The Confederation took place in 1867, and the Canadian Expeditionary Force(CEF) was raised in
1914. The CEF is what protects what the Confederation created, and would not the nation s greatest
achievement be protecting that which the nation created. Canada did not enter the war of its own
accord but was automatically at war when Britain declared war against Germany. Canada entered the
war to stand by its mother country, to protect the country who founded it. The Canadian Corps and
CEF were created to defend Canada, and fought not only in the war but for the recognition that
Canada deserved, to then show that in the Great War we achieved something great, and finally to piece
together to how Canada is now, to build through the years and show that this was truly Canada s
greatest achievement.
The Canadian Corps and CEF were formed to protect Canada in times of war. The Canadian Corps
was formed as an operational force in France and Flander s Field in 1914. Collectively every troop
that were deployed were referred to as the Canadian Corps. The Canadian Corps was sent out in 3
divisions, the first sent to England in 1914 and trained on the Salisbury Plain and then crossed over to
France to join the war. The second division was formed in 1915 and immediately sent over to France.
The third was a fully manned and equipped combat division disbanded at the end of the First World
War. These divisions were each sent out as a small operational force that defended Canada. However

The Construction Industry
Construction industry has long been criticized for its poor performance. After major reports such as
Latham (1994) and Egan (1998), major studies are carried out in different procurement routes,
management system and technique and construction method. Beyond these, it has been suggested, that
softer factors such as organisational culture also have a significant impact on performance (Nicolini,
2002). The concept of organisation culture is a popular part of general management since early 1980s.
But in construction industry with its project based environment, innovative procurement and business
practices such as partnering, lean construction and internationalisation of procurement, potential
impact of culture even more pronounced than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This assertion is presented by various academics who have examined the same on construction.
Ankrah and Langford (2005) studies at project level and organisation level, for instance, asserted that,
conflict can occur at the interface level between the architect and contractor because of specific
cultural characteristics and orientations. Further he states that, awareness of the likelihood difference
may improve the overall project performance.
Furthermore, Zhang and Anita (2006) studies on national level, argued that there is significant
relationship between work performance and different culture profiles of construction enterprise.
Similarly, Koh et al. (2008) studied the implementation of total quality management (TQM) in
different organisational culture profile and recommended the possible implementation strategies based
on different organisational culture orientation.
Moreover, in a cross culture studies at International level, Low et al., (2002) presented a study on
Singaporean construction firm working in China, which showed that mismanaging cultural differences
rendered otherwise successful managers and organisations ineffective and frustrated when working
across cultures. According to Ping Chen et al. (2004), effects of culture on transfer and
implementation of management philosophies in a cross culture project is not always

Diatomite
DIATOMITE
Diatomite is a sedimentary rock, that is white and yellowish in color. It is composed of fossilized
skeletons of one celled algae like plants called diatoms. It is accumulated in marine areas. The
Honeycomb sillia structure is useful because of its high absorptive capacity and surface area. It is also
very chemically stable. Its principal use is filtration.
This substance of diatomite is extracted from many countries around the world. Out of 30 world
countries the largest suppliers are the United States, China, Denmark, and Japan. China supplies about
350 thousand metric tons, Denmark extracts 375 thousand metric tons, and Japan, 190 thousand metric
tons. About 725 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One environmental specification of color is put on diatomite, because it is a calcine product. It has to
be of a light whitish color or it is not available to be mined. This helps environmentally because the
color determines a standard for what companies can and cannot mine.
I think one way for lessening the impact on the environment, would be to work harder at developing
recycling methods for diatomite cake. If recycling could be put into use not as much diatomite would
need to be mined. To excavate diatomite, different combinations of rippers, dozers, scrapers, front end
loaders, power shovels, and dump trucks are used. Underground mining is not too uncommon outside
the United States. Usually, room and pillar methods are used, often with equipment similar to that
used in open pits; in the smallest mines, hand tools are used. Dredging is used to recover
diatomaceous mud from the bottom of lakes. Since all these methods are used in excavation, I think
the best idea would be to choose the method with the least impact environmentally.
Sixty four percent of the diatomite mined is used in filtration.
Fourteen percent is used for absorbents, and twelve percent used in fillers. While two percent used for
insulation, and

Inherit The Wind Theme
Albert Einstein once said, We cannot solve the problems by using the same kind of thinking we used
when we created them. This idea is present throughout Inherit the Wind. Inherit the Wind is a play that
challenges both science and belief. Its plot surrounds an educator teaching Charles Darwin s theory of
evolution in a small town where the Bible is treated as the only book that explains where humanity
came from. The play s playwrights, Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence, is justifying, through Inherit
the Wind, the perils of having a limited perspective and reveals that one should expand one s horizons
to continue progressing in life, prevent ignorance, and exclusion from the rest of the world through
their character s actions, dialogues, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lee are present in their character s dialogue. As Drummond puts it, The Bible is a book. A good book.
But it s not the only book (Lawrence and Lee 98). Drummond is referring to Darwin s book when he
says that the Bible is not the only book. This is also his way of telling the spectators and the jury that
there is a world out there with boundless perceptions and by becoming intact with the sole idea of God
s creation, one misses that chance to meet that ever so changing world. Once one misses that chance,
one does not progress to one s full potential. At the same time, Drummond also states, ... It s the
loneliest feeling in the world to find yourself standing up when everybody else is sitting down
(Lawrence and Lee 51). Drummond is referring to the absence of mind and the presence of ignorance
in Brady s life due to his limited perspective. He is telling Brady that while everybody else has opened
their minds and started reconsidering their own beliefs, he remains close minded and that feeling of
isolation and exclusion from the rest of the world is because of his ignorance. Brady s ignorance has
not only affected the way he sees the world, but also the way the world sees him. Correspondingly,
Drummond states, All motion is relative. Perhaps it is you who have moved away by standing still
(Lawrence and Lee 67). Drummond is speaking about

Theme Of Nature In Brave New World
There are many conflicts that arise during the first third of this novel, but they all tie in to the basic
theme that is to do with nature and the destruction of humanity through the conditioning of human
minds, to be happy . There are many scenes in the book that show how the people or that specific
scene can be used against the World State, in order to explain that the world state is identify
individuals and making them like everyone else. This ideal perfect futuristic society is a driving force
of the novel and of all the actions that occur throughout Brave New World.

Human nature in Brave New World is suggestions, according to the World State. Suggestions are
voluntary, therefore when human beings are being conditioned, they are not voluntarily agreeing to
this action, therefore whatever action is observed, we know that it is occurring due to the altercation of
their human nature. The entire novel is set in a dystopian themed perfect reality, that can be seen as far
from normal, as perfection is rarely achieved now in the 21st century. After humans are conditioned,
since a young age, they begin to grow older and believe that homes are stiflingly over inhabited by a
man, by a periodically teeming woman, by a rabble of boys and girls of all ages, (pg. 31). and that
there is No air, no space; an understerilized prison; darkness, disease and smells, (pg. 31). The
controllers are extracting all the terrible things that can make a society unhappy, and as it is removing
the bad, it is also removing some of the good things, which is messing with the human nature of

Train s Journey And Transportation
train s journey and that why a lot of regional trains and international passenger trains have food
service cars and sleeping cars along with the passenger cars.
Since the 40s of the 20th century, the number of railway passengers in many of the industrial cities has
declined, and that s because of the increased demand and the use of cars and planes. However Railway
systems are the most common means of travel by passengers in general in Japan and Switzerland.
Shipping and cargo trains:
Most of the income of the Railway systems in many countries from transporting and shipping goods
as shipping goods through railways for long distances is cheaper than any other shipping method of
land transportation. It can be stated that shipping trains in the past Soviet Union transported the largest
amount of goods in the world, and then comes in the second place the United States then China.
Company trains also transport a lot of goods, as each train holds and transports the products and goods
of its own company.
4.1. Benefits of train systems
Dependable The best preferred standpoint of the railroad transport is that it is the most tried and true
method of transport as it is the slightest influenced by climate conditions, for example, downpours,
haze and so on contrasted with different methods of transport.
Better Organized The rail transport is more organized than whatever other type of transport. It has

During a period of time, the design or general appearances of furniture design changes over the course of history which was influenced by architectural style. Therefore, there are many different types of furniture design available in the market nowadays including wall kitchen cabinets. Most wall cabinets are simply for storage but nowadays, people require durable, sturdy, long lasting yet affordable furniture with improved functionality. At present, in order to have the above mentioned qualities dictated by changing customer demand it is necessary to develop new types of furniture with improved functionality. French cleat is made from two piece of dimensional lumber that ripped to a specific angle where each of it will be attached to the wall and cabinet. It can be cut to specific measurement and fit securely in any kitchen cabinet with the greatest of ease because the cabinet can be designed with varying design with movable features. Sancaktar et al. (2003) explained that the higher the strength of joints is influenced by the taper angle at the end of lap zone. The French cleats which are almost like scarf joint types of bonded joints exhibited excellent static performance particularly under compression loading and cyclic fatigue characteristics. The performance demonstrated the effectiveness of this configuration from a perspective design (Broughton et al., 1999). However, designing an optimum French cleat using engineered wood material is complex due to the physical properties and fiber direction that might influence the joint performance. LVL is an engineered wood product and has been developed as an alternative to solid wood. According to Colak et al. (2004), due to the manufacturing process in the making of LVL, this material produced a higher strength product and is available in unlimited length and sizes. In any kitchen cabinet construction, LVL could be used advantageously in several area to match the quality needed (Eckelman, 1993). Due to their advantages mentioned ... • 3. Twezers Lab Report The predators in this experiment were three different types of tools, a tweezer, a wooden clothespin, and a clothes clip. At the start of the first round, there were ten beans for each different type of bean. Nearly all the white beans were taken out of the first round, only one survived. This was because the white beans were large, non slippery, and easy to catch. Red beans and green beans were not as easy to catch. Based on the data and the graph, the tweezers captured the most beans in this round and the clothes clip had the least (w/ only one white bean). In the second round, every white bean was captured and many red beans were captured. The green beans were not captured as often as either other bean. From this, it can be concluded that the tweezers are the only predator that can efficiently collect green beans based on the graph. As of round two, no other predator has managed to capture a green bean. Also, the clothes clip captured zero beans this round. From the data so far, it can be inferred that the tweezers have the highest ability to capture prey, while the clothes clip has the least (clothespin is in between). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is interesting to point out that the clothes clip has only captured one bean the past two rounds and had captured nine red beans this round. This is because the clothes clip gained a learned behavior that allowed it to capture beans much more efficiently. From now on, only green beans are left and this could mean the extinction of both the clothespin and clothes clip because only the tweezers can efficiently capture the green beans. This is very demonstrative of the process of natural selection and how organisms with the advantageous trait for survival will survive and pass on their genes, while those with disadvantageous traits will not live to ... Collagen is very durable and is a fibrous material with a glue like consistency. The areas particularly reliant on collagen include skin, bones and all the connective tissues found in cartilage and tendons. • 11. The Importance Of Assimilation In America Assimilation is the manner in which people of a cultural group start to lose their individuality that makes them different from the more dominant culture, as they seek to fit in. America has been a melting pot of different cultures for centuries, whether it was by choice, forced or for a better life. History has proven that assimilation in America was not acceptable but that has changed over time. During slavery, whites did not accept assimilation and did everything possible to keep it from occurring. The white race was the superior race and everyone else was inferior. African Americans were enslaved and made to work for the white man. Slaves were bought and sold like animals and were thought of as property and not humans. White Americans made sure that slaves had no part in becoming apart of the dominant race. There were laws in place that forbade interracial marriages. If a child was born due to interracial mixing, that child was considered inferior. After the abolishment of slavery and during the 20th Century, some things started to change slowly although Jim Crow laws still separated whites and blacks. Nowadays, due to specific laws like the Title IV of the Civil Rights Act which does not allow discrimination due to race, age or sex has made America slowly accept diversity and other cultures. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commision which investigate and prosecute cases due to discrimination against minorities has made the corporation revise their guidelines so ... • 15. A Pro Versus Con Argumentative Article Essay In America we currently have tax placed on our gas. However, with new changes in the automotive industry, there have been ideas of changing the tax to a tax based on miles travelled rather than gas. Mr. Earl Blumenauer and Mr. Phil Byrd both expressed their strong views on the topic in a pro versus con argumentative article. Blumenauer and Byrd both built up their credibility by using strong sources, including facts and statistics, and appealing to the readers emotions; however towards the end of the article both sides had a slight flaw which weakened their credibility. When analyzing both viewpoints of the topic, the credibility of the sources and appeals to ethos in the article are very important. The pro side of the article was written by Earl Blumenauer, a sponsor for the Road Usage Fee Pilot Program Act. After looking further into his profession, he works as a congressman for Oregon. Since he is only a sponsor for the program, there are unanswered questions as to if he is knowledgeable enough on the subject of these types of taxes. After further reading you learn that he actually used his job as a representative to introduce the Pilot Programming Act to congress. The program is taking place in Oregon, where they are beginning projects in hope of switching over to a tax on miles travelled rather than gas. The receiver calculates the distance b/w one satellite and the receiver. To find the distance and locations of the satellite and receiver, the parameter time is computed (t=time taken by the signal to reach from satellite to the GPS receiver). The time is multiplied by the speed of light to get distance b/w the satellite and receiver. Disadvantage of GPS based positioning: Increases the price and the size of the mobile telephone. This person, or confidante, must be willing to listen to and provide helpful thoughts and feedback. In Pride and Prejudice, a novel by Jane Austen, Elizabeth Bennet is a heroine who is in desperate need of a confidante. Jane Bennet, Elizabeth s kind and honest sister, becomes that person Lizzy needs when she is feeling flustered. Although it may seem to the reader that Jane is idealistic or dishonest, she really says what is on her mind. Jane truly believes all people are good spirited and that she will never be deceived by anyone. In this way, the author uses Jane Bennet to give the reader a different perspective of a certain character in the story: while Elizabeth is always criticizing the many characters in this novel, Jane is there to deliver a contradictory statement about those characters. Mr. Wickham reveals to Elizabeth that Mr. Darcy had prevented him from joining the ministry by refusing to supply the money Darcy s father had intended to provide for Wickham. Upon hearing these revealing statements about Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth is appalled and outraged at how selfish a man can be. Elizabeth then relates to Jane about what she had discovered about Mr. Darcy but Jane provides her and the reader with a different, more optimistic point of view: It is impossible. No man of common humanity, no man who had any value for his character, could be capable of it. Can his most intimate friends be so excessively deceived in him? Oh! no (Austen 74). Elizabeth s decision to believe Mr. Wickham originates her prejudice towards Mr. Darcy into the novel. However, in the end, the reader finds out that Jane had actually been correct in that Darcy can never have done such a horrible thing and that he had actually given Wickham the money his father left for him. This late 90 s narrative structure film American Beauty narrates the changes in gender roles and how they have impacted society in contrast to the traditional male bread winners and female homemakers of past times. The characters in this film are defined through their sexuality in the roles they play. This film also relates to the theme of identity and explores the expectations society has placed on stereotypes in how we function and how we identify ourselves. First they they cut logs to 3 4 feet long then they have to season the wood. To season the wood they either have to keep it in open air for several months or they dry it in a kiln. Then the logs are split and sawed to the correct lengths of the clarinet body pieces. The body pieces look like long rectangular blocks and pyramidal shapes for the barrel. These pieces are called billets. When the manufacturer receives the billets, workers inspect the lot. Then skilled workers place the billets on a borer, which drills a hole lengthwise through the center of each piece. (Clarinet). After they drill it, the wood then is shaped like a cylinder. Then they make the wood smooth and they season the wood again. When the wood is seasoned again they then cut it into the size of the actual clarinet. Then they paint it with black dye. On the plastic models, they make the body parts for the clarinet through injection molding. Then they melt plastic pellets and put them in the molds. Then they may have to fix it up a little unless it came out of the mold perfectly. The next step is boring the holes. They use different drill bits for this because not all the holes are the same size. Then they begin to construct the keys. They usually use casts for this step. This is important in order to make CPD an easier task, as there are many different settings that utilise LLL. CPD is vital in the field of adult nursing, as healthcare is frequently being modified and amended. This is due to many factors, such as changes of policies, which results in changes to the way adult nurses care for patients (Narayanasamy and Narayanasamy 2007). The purpose of these policies is to ensure patients are being cared for in a safe environment. Additionally, nurses are required to keep up to date with amended procedures in order to ensure patients are receiving safe and effective treatment (Eason 2010). This is vital in order to ensure patient safety and efficient treatment, not only for the benefit of the patient but also because nurses are responsible for issues arising with a patient s care, and are potentially liable for mistakes arising from incorrect procedure. LLL is also imperative in order to meet the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), as without which the adult nurse would be removed from the register. After taking a few running records I found out that she is at a level H reading level which would be the equivalent of a high first grade reader. To get to know my student I printed out a reading survey and a get to know you worksheet. The reading survey was asking questions about what genres of books she likes, what are some of her favorite things (books, tv shows, animals, sports, characters, jobs, activities), if reading is fun for her, if reading is easy for her, if she reads at home, and how she likes to read. The get to know you worksheet had her color her own person based on some of her favorite things like her favorite color, if she likes to read, her favorite subject, the color of her eyes, and how many siblings she has. These helped me get to know her as a reader and as a person by knowing how she reads and what interests her. One assessment that I did with my student was three running records. I did a Level J book, a Level I, and a Level H book. For the first book, Level J, she got an 85% which was not high enough to be her reading level. I then went to a Level I book and she got an 92% which was still not high enough to be her reading level. Due to humans inability to perceive this gas CO it is commonly referred to as silent killer. Inhalation of CO is the leading cause of accidental deaths in the United States. Excluding deaths caused by fires, there are around 2,700 deaths as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning annually. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that around 450 deaths are caused by accidental CO toxicity every year. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It causes death by the CO binding rapidly to the haemoglobin (Hb) resulting in the carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) formation. As a result, the blood s oxygen carrying capacity is reduced leading to tissue hypoxia (Chand Meena, 2014). The presence of COHb changes the Hb s oxygen affinity by altering oxyhemoglobin dissociation reducing the oxygen delivered to the tissues, leading to tissue hypoxia. More importantly, other oxygen carrying hemeproteins such as cytochrome P 450, myoglobin, and cytochrome c oxidase also compete with oxygen for binding sites (Caughey, 1970). It has been demonstrated that cytochrome oxidase oxygen affinity causes impairment of mitochondrial respiration. Even though the level of COHb is a vital clinical measure of carbon monoxide exposure, the most crucial mechanism by which carbon monoxide causes toxicity is its combination with cytochrome oxidase. In addition, carbon monoxide may produce toxicity by binding to myoglobin causing impairment of the cardiac output and leading to cerebral ischemia. The dissociation of carboxymyoglobin is slower compared to COHb because of CO s increased affinity for myoglobin (Myers, Linberg, Cowley, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the book Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet fall in love but it would never work out because their families are mortal enemies. Both Romeo and Juliet end up killing themselves for each other, and Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence are to blame for the deaths of the young lovers and why each one holds a big responsibility to the deaths. The Mental Health Care Of Syrian Refugees The Mental Health Care of Syrian Refugees and the Improvements Needed The Syrian Civil War has left millions of Syrian civilians as refugees in foreign lands. Most of these Syrian refugees have seen or experienced horrific acts of violence because of the war. Many of these refugees are now experiencing mental health problems because of the things they have experienced. Most of them have never seen a mental health care professional and the few that have are few and far between. Until recently the mental health care of these individuals was not considered, but has recently come to the forefront of the medical field s attention. The mental health care of Syrian refugees is improving but still has a long way to go. There are many strides being made to treat and care for their mental health but many still have not received treatment, and this must become a priority. Improvements Being Made Though their mental health care has not been considered a priority to very many until recently, some strides have already been to help Syrian refugees. There are several obstacles being faced by mental health professionals to help the refugees. Many of these obstacles are cultural, but can dissolve if professionals that understand Syrian culture are involved (Acarturk et al., 2015, Cultural Sensitivity Section, par. 1). The mental health professionals involved also need to not only understand Syrian culture but take their values into consideration. A successful group consulted leaders ... • 34. Representative Democracy Research Paper When it comes to the way the government is run in the United Kingdom, there has been great evolution from what it was when it started back in the 13th century as a monarchy. The progression of the government has changed drastically over 800 years to what s now used today: the Parliamentary system (with a constitutional monarch on the side). The United Kingdom Parliament has served the 65 million people living in England, Scotland, Wales and North Ireland for countless decades and continues to support and discuss relevant issues like health care, the environment, education, crime, and national aid. In the four countries that dominate the United Kingdom, they work together to maintain what is one of the oldest governments in the world, as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Starting in the year of 1215, when the rise of King John s new law system was put into place, he, with the help of his barons, made sure no one, not even himself, was above the laws they created. In 1265, Simon de Montfort invited representatives of surrounding towns and shires to his Parliament. These events helped found the representative democracy we now use today. What was once a constitutional monarchy with a king and queen deciding the rules of the land, is now a Parliamentary democracy where there s one leader and all the people get a say in the way it s run. The representative democracy is more modern than how it was run in way back when. When the monarch ruled, a king and queen had power. This power was inherited when a family member passes away and you re the one next in line for the crown. Laws and decisions were made by the legislation and passed by the monarch before being granted. Although this way of government preserved culture and tradition as well as continuity, the monarch cannot be removed no matter how poor their duties are and it also promotes class privilege ( this can push the idea that success can be achieved based only on your social class instead of your hard ... • 35. A Position Of Influence On The American Prison System Project Summary: The United States incarcerates approximately 2.3 million prisoners as of 2016, much greater than any other country. Though this large prison population exists, the crime rate is similar to other, similarly developed, countries. This problem can be, if not solved, significantly alleviated by implementing, as much as possible, the types of policy present in the German prison system, and others like it. This project would recommend solutions to those in a position of influence in the American prison system, a way to efficiently implement German, and other similar countries, prison policy and principles in a manner that is applicable to already existing American prisons. I estimate that I would need approximately three weeks to research further into this problem and its solutions, and to write the recommendation report proposed here. INTRODUCTION The United States is spending close to $80 billion a year on prisons and rehabilitation programs, a lot of which is going to waste as shown by the 50% recidivism rate. This proposal will demonstrate the need for a restructuring of the prison system, the sources available for inspiration to help solve this problem, and the need for the recommendation report proposed here. The United States has about 5% of the world s population yet it accounts for about 25% of the world s prisoners (Deady 2014). From the tough on crime mentality of the last few decades, our prison system has bloated and become focused on punishment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Analysis Of Leon The Professional Leon: The Professional (1994) Leon: the Professional is considered to be one of the best action films of the 1990s. The film is set in modern day New York and features Jean Reno as Leon, a professional hitman, and twelve year old Natalie Portman as Mathilda, a neighbor of Leon in an apartment complex. The film is, despite the tremendous age gap of the two characters, is a rather sensitive love story. A film that is about people who have seen sights most people would never want to see, but need each other for emotional stability. The film introduces Leon as an ironic character, as his love for milk is visually also very ironic, in contrast to his role as a master hitman. Milk represents Leon s paternal involvement for Mathilda and his wholesomeness. Milk itself also represents those qualities such as: nurture, care and a fluid of life. It carries a symbol as a fluid of innocence, in the case of the film, it s symbolic towards both Mathilda and Leon s childhood. In many ways Leon is portrayed as an more immature figure than Mathilda. Leon is a middle aged man who does know how to read or write, and finds extraordinary pleasure from the most unornamented forms of entertainment, nor does Leon have any desires of sex or relationships. 1Leon goes by to one rule no women no children, regardless of earning 5,000$ per contract that is given to him. As a dedicated cleaner, Leon without doubt does not want change in his life, but then as Mathilda realizes that Leon s profession is a hitman, her mission becomes clear, to take revenge on Stansfield, for the death of her little brother. The music in film is The Dark Side of Time, the theme from La Femme Nikita, about a girl training to be an assassin. Mathilda desires to learn how to clean and is willing to work under Leon. The CEF is what protects what the Confederation created, and would not the nation s greatest achievement be protecting that which the nation created. Canada did not enter the war of its own accord but was automatically at war when Britain declared war against Germany. Canada entered the war to stand by its mother country, to protect the country who founded it. The Canadian Corps and CEF were created to defend Canada, and fought not only in the war but for the recognition that Canada deserved, to then show that in the Great War we achieved something great, and finally to piece together to how Canada is now, to build through the years and show that this was truly Canada s greatest achievement. One environmental specification of color is put on diatomite, because it is a calcine product. It has to be of a light whitish color or it is not available to be mined. This helps environmentally because the color determines a standard for what companies can and cannot mine. I think one way for lessening the impact on the environment, would be to work harder at developing recycling methods for diatomite cake. If recycling could be put into use not as much diatomite would need to be mined. To excavate diatomite, different combinations of rippers, dozers, scrapers, front end loaders, power shovels, and dump trucks are used. Underground mining is not too uncommon outside the United States. Usually, room and pillar methods are used, often with equipment similar to that used in open pits; in the smallest mines, hand tools are used. Dredging is used to recover diatomaceous mud from the bottom of lakes. Since all these methods are used in excavation, I think the best idea would be to choose the method with the least impact environmentally. Sixty four percent of the diatomite mined is used in filtration. Fourteen percent is used for absorbents, and twelve percent used in fillers. While two percent used for insulation, and ...
