American Bar Association Essay Topics
The American Bar Association By James R. Silkenat The original Constitution of the American Bar
Association defined the purpose of the ABA as being for the advancement of the science of
jurisprudence, the promotion of the administration of justice and a uniformity of legislation
throughout the country.... While this Constitution still considerably shapes the focus of the ABA,
today s legal profession is very different from what it was when the ABA was first formed 137 years
ago in Saratoga Springs, New York. When 75 lawyers from 20 states and the District of Columbia met
to establish the American Bar Association on August 21, 1878, there was no national code of ethics.
Most lawyers practiced solo. There were no universal standards for law schools, since most lawyers
did not have law degrees and attending law school at that time was rare. Young lawyers learned their
craft through apprenticeships and by reading classic legal texts. Improving diversity within the
profession was almost certainly not a topic of conversation. Today, the ABA is as committed as ever to
improving the justice system and the law. It works to serve its members, the legal profession, and the
public by defending liberty and pursuing justice as the national voice of the legal profession. The ABA
achieves its mission through four goals, as evidenced on the organization s website: Goal I: Serve Our
Members. Objective: 1. Provide benefits, programs and services which promote members professional

Research Paper On Rihanna
Unlike many past decades, the 2000s did not see the creation or emergence of many styles, with the
exception of a few indie related genres such as emo,[1] Alternative R B, and electronic subgenres like
Liquid funk and UK funky. Convergence of different styles was one of the more defining features of
the decade, as seen with the creation and commercial success of the British grime genre and trap and
chillwave in the United States.[2]
Nevertheless, distinguishable elements can be attributed to the decade from a musical point of view,
such as the common and mainstream usage of pitch correction software Auto Tune, as well as the rise
of the internet, media player programmes such as iTunes and music and video sharing websites such
as YouTube. Also, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
American and European popular music became more popular in Asia.
Genres such as J Pop and K Pop remained popular throughout the decade. In other parts of Asia,
including India, Indian pop music, closely linked to Bollywood films and filmi music, was popular
alongside Western pop music.
In Latin America, whilst R B, hip hop and pop rock did have influence and success, Latin based pop
music remained highly popular.
Reggaeton became a definitive genre in 2000s Latin music, as well as salsa and merengue. Subgenres
fusing Latin music such as merengue and reggaeton with hip hop and rap music became popular from
the middle of the decade onwards.
The Internet allowed unprecedented access to music and allowed artists to distribute music freely
without label backing.[6] Innumerable online outlets and sheer volume of music also offers musicians
more musical influences to draw from.[1][6]
Although more affection for the music is likely to grow over time, two public opinion polls listed the
2000s as the least favored tune decade of the last 50

Bootstrap Sampling In Cluster Analysis Essay
Bootstrap sampling in cluster analysis is a valuable tool that can be used in bioinformatics as well as
in other areas of research. In bioinformatics, clustering can be used in genetics studies to find clusters
of subjects according to their gene expression levels. We can then see if subjects with the same disease
state or treatment have the same gene profiles, which can give us more information about diseases or
treatments and their relations to genetics.
The Hierarchical Ordered Partitioning and Collapsing Hybrid (HOPACH) clustering algorithm can be
used to identify clusters of data. There is a package in R that corresponds to this method which is built
especially for bioinformatical data. This method works in four steps: ... Show more content on

One question that was asked during the in class discussion, but was never answered was the number of
bootstrap datasets that were used in the HOPACH method. In looking further into this, I found that the
default number of bootstrap samples is 1000. The documentation for this package noted that this
method is computationally expensive, especially as the number of bootstrap samples gets larger.
Something that I would be interested in learning more about is the extent to which the number of
bootstrap samples affects the results of the cluster validation as well as how low you can go in the
number of bootstrap samples while still ensuring a relatively high level of accuracy. Especially for big
data sets I would assume that it is important to minimize the computational time and power used in
analysis, so it would be valuable to have more information on the effects of lowering the number of
bootstrap samples both on computational expense as well as on accuracy.
I am also curious concerning other ways the HOPACH method along with bootstrapping could be
used within the field of bioinformatics. One application, which we touched on a little bit during our
discussion, might be to cluster genes rather than research subjects. I think this would only be practical
after the number of genes of interest had been minimized through other

How Madagascar s Major Environmental Problems Affected...
A geographer explores how Madagascar s major environmental problems impact the wildlife
development in Madagascar
Abstract
This essay discusses how five different environmental problems that occur in Madagascar disturb the
plants and animals living in the country. Environmental problems include deforestation, agricultural
fires, erosion, overexploitation of living resources, and invasions of alien species. Unfortunately, as
result of the environmental problems, native species are losing their homes and are struggling to
survive. Fortunately, there are organizations where conservationists are working hard to help save the
animals from extinction.
When people think about Madagascar, images of beautiful, lush green rainforest, warm, sandy beaches
along crystal clear water and exotic animals come to mind. Madagascar is a large island that is located
in the Indian Ocean, just off the southeastern coast of Africa. According to Africa Diversity and
Development, the population in 2009 was nineteen point five million people, many of which living on
less than two dollars a day (Binns, 2011). This landmass is home to an extraordinary variety of
animals including Flat Tailed Geckos, Comet Moths, Panther Chameleons and Tomato Frogs. Many of
the animals found in Madagascar cannot be found anywhere else on this planet. Unfortunately,
environmental problems are negatively impacting the wildlife. Conservationist are forced to work
extra hard to help stop the destruction and save the

Essay On Image Classification
Image classification and analysis processes are for digitally identify and classify pixels in the data. It
performed on a multi channel dataset. This process allocate each pixel and image to a particular class
or theme and depend on statistical features of brightness value pixel. There are various approaches for
digital classification: Supervised classification predicate the spectral features of training areas are
particular areas of known types of land cover are obtained from the image. Each pixel in picture is
then named being a piece of one of the classes in light of how its unearthly highlights are to those of
the preparation ranges. Unsupervised classification the computer program automatically gathers the
pixels into various clusters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The discontinuities are unexpected changes in intensity of pixel of the image that determine outline of
objects in image. Some classical edge detection techniques involves detecting convolution of the
image with an operator like 2 D filter, where returning intensity zero in uniform regions.
Morphological thinning: It is operation which decreases the binary valued picture regions to lines that
are near the inside skeletons of the ranges. For the most part, for each single picture territory, the lines
of the consequence of the diminishing operation are required to be associated. This aides in gathering
topology and shape in the first picture. Morphological diminishing is usually utilized as a part of the
picture preprocessing stage to help higher degree examination and acknowledgment for applications,
for example, outline understanding, OCR, include discovery, and unique mark investigation.
Morphological diminishing incorporates two operations: dilation and erosion. Dilation is a
morphological operation that uses an organized component (SE) for looking at and explaining the
shapes encased in the information picture i.e. adding pixels to the protest limits. Erosion is an
operation used to expel pixels on protest limits. Hough Transform: This strategy goes for discovering
defective occasions of items encased in a particular class of shapes with the assistance of a voting
procedure. It underlines on the acknowledgment of lines in a image and

St Albans City Dc V International Computers Ltd
St Albans City and DC v International Computers Ltd [1996] 4 All ER 481 The case of St Albans City
DC v International Computers Ltd, which took place in the year 1996 at the court of appeal, concerned
the sale of computer software between a council body and a large software company. St Albans
District Council had the responsibility to collect a poll tax from its residents. The council hired,
International Computer Limited, via invitation to tender, to provide them with the software to
calculate the population required to pay the community charge. A software malfunction resulted in an
over calculation of the population by approximately 3000 people. Consequently the council lost
£484,000 (primary loss) in revenue, plus an additional £830,886 by way of interest and a further loss
of £685,000 (secondary loss). As a result of the loss, St Albans District Council sued International
Computers Limited for breach of contract. Ratio Decidendi St Albans district council were awarded
damages of £1,314,846, however, on appeal this was reduced to allow St Albans District Council to
only recover the secondary losses of £685,000 as well as £145,886 interest, this was due to the fact
that the primary loss of £484,000 had already been recovered from the poll tax payers in the
subsequent year. Obiter Dicta Lord Glidewell stated that he agreed with the decision made by Nourse

Fear In Frankenstein Essay
In Western society, fear is displayed through mass media through the mind of the individual and
community. The fear item is named and the response is dictated. A supreme example of fear
inculcation with a directed response happened after the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade
Center in New York City. From 9/11 came the so called War On Terror, the passing of the Homeland
Security Act in 2002, the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, and its effect on the civil
liberties of the American people, exponentially increased national security, and a reawakening of
racially motivated hostility and racial profiling. Fear is no longer directed merely toward violent
radicals but also toward senseless violence within communities, racism and intolerance, hatred and
despair, and the devastation of arable soil. Fear presses in on all sides and thus created a new monster
a human monster. However, arguably, the first prominent monster in English literature was the
Monster in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Additionally, Mary Shelley s novel discusses fear and the
dark corridors of the human heart. Through analysis of Frankenstein, these monstrous catastrophes can
be prevented.
Throughout the novel, several characters depict monstrous qualities. One notable example is Victor
Frankenstein, the main protagonist. Victor was born in Geneva, Switzerland, with supervision from
Caroline and Alphonse Frankenstein, Victor s parents. During his teen years, Victor becomes

Google Search Engine
1. Summary
In this report we have chosen to analysis the innovation that is the Google Search Engine . We have
chosen to base our report on the Google search engine; a revolutionary innovation that has
transformed the way in which the internet is used.
1.1 Introduction
Google began life as a research project between two Stanford University graduate students, Larry
Page and Sergey Brin in January, 1996. They hypothesized that developing a search engine that
analysed the relationships between websites would be more effective than merely counting the words
on a page. Thus, the Google search engine differs from other search engines as it uses a programme
that checks the amount of back links to a page, therefore assuming that those pages ... Show more

This was the first sign of Google having a major impact on the industry.
Figure 1.1 in the appendices is a table showing the contributing factors which over the years have
made Google the success it is today.
From the analysis this table it is clear to see that since Google was launched they have gone from
strength to strength. They have continuously added new innovations to exceed their competitors and
gain such a large market share. (For more information on their competitors please see section 2.3, of
this report). The major innovations which have had such a great impact on the industry include Google
s increase in language versions (www.google.com) this enable users around the world to search in
their own language rather than English. This opened up the market available to Google and
subsequently they opened up many R D departments over the last couple of years worldwide which
will aid their innovations.
Analysing the impact of Google was an interesting and intricate task due to the ambiguous and
undefined nature of the industry the company is in. In reality, is Google merely competing amongst
other search engines such as Yahoo, the internet as a whole or perhaps an even larger range of
industries? Librarians, publishers, and aggregators alike often call Google their main competitor (C,
Tenopir) The fact that librarians are now calling Google their main competitor shows the true

John Winthrop And The Puritan Movement
There is no doubt that writings of Jonathan Edward s and John Winthrop had a tremendous influence
in the Puritan movement in the new world. They helped set values and establish order in the new
communities. Both writings deliver on puritan principles and had a critical role in shaping much of the
puritan religious beliefs, but granting all this they are tremendously different. The reason why these
writings have so little in common, despite both being puritan doctrines, is because of the different
situations each was written in. A Model of Christian Charity and Sinners in the Hands of an Angry
God were written about one hundred years apart, in two different centuries, and most importantly at
two different stages of the puritan movement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This sermon was a radical departure in comparison to the other traditional Puritan texts. When
Edwards was writing his sermon he was beginning to witness deterioration in the original puritan
communities. He felt that the religious ideals first established by his predecessor Winthrop were
slipping among the puritans. Edwards wanted to have an impact on his readers. To him it was more
effective using scare tactics over positive encouragement to discuss proper conduct and God s wrath.
Edwards wanted to make sure the members of puritan society understood just how important their
behavior and conduct while on earth was. He wrote about the certain punishments that awaited in hell
for those who did not properly adhere to the puritan religious values. Sinners in the Hands of an Angry
God is full of strong and vivid images of hell, comparing hell to a pit of fire and depicts how
Unconverted men walk over the pit of hell on a rotten covering (Edwards). He crafted this imagery as
a deterrent example specifically to awaken the readers, and to remind them of the power of God and
his harshness when it comes to doing away with sinners. This gave the puritans encouragement to try
and build a perfect

Disadvantages Of Books
It is time to be honest, these days who has the time to sit down with a book and read for hours and
hours. Sure, there is this nostalgic ideal of cozying up with a good book, drinking some tea, and
getting lost in a brand new world. However, this appealing scene isn t practical for most people. Most
people are too busy, and even if they found an hour or two; the time most likely won t be enjoyable.
To really enjoy and comprehend reading a book a person must be stress free and relaxed, but due to
the stress of an individual s life that can seem impossible. So, is humanity doomed to a future filled
with un intellectual people who know nothing of literature? The answer is no because there is a
solution that has been around for quite a while, but a lot of people don t take advantage of it. The
solution is audiobooks. With the rising use of technology in people s everyday lives one can see why
audiobooks are the next step in a reader s life. As a result, Audiobooks are a growing industry which
has clear benefits that physical books lack.
The most important factors when considering if one should read using audio books are the benefits to
one s comprehension of the content in said audiobook. Unlike other forms of entertainment like
television or music which can be turned on and forgotten about without ever being listened to or
thought about. Reading s purpose is to invoke thought and tell a story. Music and television can be put
into the background and be passive. Books however

Causes Of The Treaty Of Versailles In Germany
In 1919, after World War I, a representative from England (Lloyd George), Italy (Orlando), France
(Clemenceau) and the US (Woodrow Wilson) came together, agreeing that Germany was at fault for
the cost of the damage that world war one had caused and drafted the Treaty of Versailles. The main
terms of the Treaty were:
That the starting of World War One was Germany s fault
The amount of 6,600 million pounds was to be paid by Germany for the damage the war caused
Germany s army was restructured to a small army with only six naval ships.
Germany had land taken from them and give to other countries.
Germany itself was in hardship due to World War One. Although they were forced to accept the
blame, the country was very poor, jobs were hard to find, food and basic goods were too costly. The
people of Germany were unhappy and thus put their trust in the power of a man who promised to
defend them against the Treaty of Versailles. This man was Adolf Hitler. In 1993 Adolf Hitler became
the Chancellor of Germany. Hitler s actions:
Built up an army, increasing it s weapons size, warships and the air force. He also introduced
compulsory military service. All of this was done in attempted secrecy to the other countries.
The rise of communism was real to the European nations. France and Britain, although aware of the
actions of Hitler, thought Germany may help prevent this rise of communism in the West.
In 1936, Hitler made alliances with Italy and Japan.

Analysis Of Alan Turing s Views On Morality
I way society reacted to Alan Turning being gay, made me think about morally. Is there a set morally
or does society have a different sense of morally in different places and time? Does morally change

Think of the people that kill and justify it with faith or love. Belief and emotions can change someone
ideas of morally and the big question is where is the line. When do we need to look at a problem like a
computer not a person. We sometimes need to turn off are fear and emotion and decide what is the
best way to save the most people. The problem is the train problem, if a train was going down a track
and you had to either flip the switch and kill one man or kill twenty most people would flip the switch.
But if you had the same case but instead of flipping the switch you had to push the man on the tracks
most could not do it. This is because we are emotional people, but we do have the practical and
analytical intelligence and can analyze I problem and see the math you lose one or twenty. But maybe
it would be I good things to turn off care for a second and push the man in front of the train because
wouldn t can save twenty men. This is why we are not computers, we have morally and emotions that
can we very helpful but sometimes hurtful. The train case one s care and lack of strength lead to
twenty deaths instead of one, so the question is can morally and emotional be a demerit. Would certain

Hemingway s Use of Economy In The End of Something Essay
Hemingway s Use of Economy In The End of Something
Hemingway is renowned for his brief, simple and economical writing style. This is present in the story
The end of something , but how does he achieve this and what effect does it have on the story.
Hemingway has an economical writing style, which is achieved through the repetition of words. An
example of this is the use of the word said after any dialogue between Marjorie and Nick. This can
seem quite juvenile in style, many authors would be more descriptive, but by repeating this simple and
plain word Hemingway is commenting on the tediousness of their relationship. This is reinforced later
when Nick remarks it isn t fun anymore . When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several lines and words in the story that have double meanings and it is for us the reader to
interpret them. An example of this is the word Lying in the following sentence Yes Nick said lying, his
face on the blanket . Lying could mean one of two things, lying face down or not telling the truth. If
we take the former meaning he could be lying because he doesn t want to look at Bill because he feels
guilty, if we take the latter then it suggests that Nick is embarrassed about his actions and doesn t want
to admit that he hurt Marjorie. The use of double entrées make the audience think more about there
own perception and is also economical because it is using one word to convey two meanings. There is
also a vagueness in the story where we the audience are meant to fill in the gaps. For example the
relationship between Bill and Nick is not explained, are they just friends or is there an illusion to a
homoerotic relationship? Making the audience an active reader is the one of the main functions of an
economical style.
The metaphors in the story require an active reader to perceive them. An example of an extended
metaphor in the story is fishing. In this metaphor, Nick is a fish, for whom biting would be deciding to
marry. Marjorie is hopeful that the fish are

Tet Offensive of early 1968, however, began the steady decline of U.S fortunes in Vietnam, despite an

Essay Cold War Rhetoric of the Lysenko Era
The Cold War Rhetoric of the Lysenko Era
During the Cold War, the Soviet Union forced its biologists to support the theory of the inheritance of
acquired characteristics, which opposed the conventional theory of genetics accepted by the scientists
in America and most of the world. This theory that environmentally induced changes to an organism s
physical or biochemical traits could be passed on to its offspring was the main tenet in Lamarck s
work during the early 1800s. It was accepted by most biologists during Lamarck s time, until the work
of Darwin on evolution by natural selection in the mid 1800s and the discovery of Mendel s work on
heredity in the early 1900s lead most biologists to discount Lamarck s theory. However, in ... Show

A Soviet scientist, Medvedev, argues that the dominance of Lysenkoism in the Soviet Union was
caused by the classification of science as bourgeois or proletarian, the government s aim to increase
agricultural production, the censorship in the press, the isolation of Soviet scientists, and the Soviet s
centralization of science (247 252). Joravsky, an American scholar, discounts Medvedev s argument
on the influence of Marxist theory and emphasizes Lysenko s appeal to improving collectivized
agriculture (The Lysenko Affair 228). Soyfer, a recent Russian scientist, adds that Lysenko s appeal to
Stalin s personal interests and views may have caused his popularity with the state (Lysenko and the
Tragedy of Soviet Science 202). However, these scholars focus on the forces operating within the
Soviet Union, and give little consideration to the larger Cold War climate. The rhetoric of Lysenko s
speech and other texts produced during the time shows that the Cold War had a profound influence on
how ideas were interpreted. The Cold War environment may have motivated the Soviet state to
support Lysenko s theory because it conflicted at a fundamental level with the biological theory
accepted in America and promised to propagate nationalist pride by

Anything owned by the government has a tendency to be overused and under serviced. Private
ownership will protect the asset better and will manage its use better. And hence, it will cause a huge
government failure.
9 Legislation Process
Another major cause of government failure is the legislative process itself, since it allows legislators
to insert preferential items into large complex bills where other representatives are forced to either
vote for or against the bill as a whole. Legislators cannot approve the bill without also approving the
line items, so if the overall bill is desirable, then legislators will probably approve the bill in spite of
the objectionable line items.
10 Corruption:
In most of the developing countries, either the govt. or the officials of government tried to corrupt
with the society and hence prove the inequality between other people. This cause the government
failure and the society fairness vanish away.

Test For Aggregation Bias On The United States Personal...
The purpose of this analysis is to test for aggregation bias in the United States Personal Consumption
Expenditure (PCE). This paper uses first and second generation panel unit root testsfootnote{For more
information see Hurlin (2007). } on the National Income and Product Accounts (NIPA) that make up
the PCE. Second generation tests differ from first generation tests in that the latter drop the
assumption of cross sectional independence the error term. Aggregation bias exists if NIPA inflation
differentials converge or diverge at different levels of aggregation. An inflation differential is the
difference between inflation rates in one sector and the inflation rate in another sector. Higher levels of
aggregation are made to represent the lower, more dis aggregate levels. If aggregates properly
represent the underlying data then each level should converge or diverge the same. Aggregation is
important because the process used to aggregate the data may remove information from the data and
create divergent inflation differentials when dis aggregate inflation rates converge. Monetary policy of
the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is based on a target inflation rate, however there are
concerns that if the FOMC focus s on aggregate inflation it may cause individual sectors to diverge.
Clark (2006) uses dis aggregate quarterly NIPA accounts to study the distribution of inflation
persistence across consumption sectors. Inflation persistence is the tendency of inflation to

Statistical And Descriptive Methods For Solving Business...
Business problems can be researched by using descriptive statistical and inferential methods. Data
collection instruments and various sampling methods are essential tools for business research. This
paper will discuss use of inferential and descriptive methods for solving business problems within
insurance.
Descriptive statistics are used to describe the basic features of the data in a study...which provide
summaries about the sample and the measures. With descriptive statistics you are simply describing
what is or what the data show and present quantitative description in a manageable form. (William, M.
K., 2006).
Inferential statistics is the process of making conclusions and premonitions about the population from

Scatter plots is a graph of points that are plotted to illustrate the relation between two different sets of
data. They investigate any relation amongst variables within the same event.
Simple linear regression allows you to predict scores on one variable to the scores on a second
variable. It uses one independent variable to describe the relation of the independent and dependant
variable as a line.
Multiple regressions are learning about the independent and dependent variables relationship between
each other. It enables you to predict the value that is unknown from two or more variables. It assists
with the prediction of the value of Y.
Non linear regression is an analysis where observational data is formed by different functions, then are
shared and depend on independent variables.
The strengths of the sampling approach include: Data collection is important to research study because
they reveal results and impact valuation. Descriptive statistics are ideally used to describe how data is
allocated and the design of a sample. Central tendency, mode, median and mean are used to determine
the number of policies sold per month and the calendar month the policy was sold in. The data reveals
the annual average and the median, which is the greater than the average indicates the lower

Tetanus Vaccine Research
Over 17 million and 60 million people died in World War 1 and World War 2, respectively making
them the two of the most deadly conflicts in modern history. Though these deaths must not be
overlooked, the wars expedited many medical advances and technologies that saved many lives during
and after the wars. The world saw many discoveries and innovations that would shape the scientific
community forever. Without the two wars, access to blood products and blood transfusions, vaccines,
and antibiotics would not exist as they are today.
Every three seconds someone needs blood whether it is for a victim of a car crash or a child battling
leukemia. Even though the practice saves millions of lives each year, it owes its start to war. World

If it were not for vaccines, we would see increased cases for tetanus, influenza and botulism among
other diseases. The success of the tetanus vaccine in the army allowed for the success of the vaccine in
the general populace. Troops were administered the tetanus vaccine at the beginning of the war. Due
to its success, the government implemented vaccine programs across the country. During the 1920 s
and 1930 s between 26 and 55 people died from tetanus every year. After vaccine programs started in
the 1940 s, rates rapidly declined. Between 2000 and 2013, there were only 42 reported cases of
tetanus in Canada. More than half of those cases were in individuals over 60, where they might not
have gotten a booster shot, and no cases occurred in babies, which is the age when inoculation begins.
When war broke out for the second time, the fear of another influenza outbreak was at the forefront of
people s minds. Due to this, The US government put together vaccine development groups. These
groups created America s first flu vaccine and the FDA approved it in less than two years. Scientists
later discovered that they needed to modify the vaccine every year to match the strains of the virus
that were circulating at that time and the modifications are still done every year. The aforementioned
vaccine development programs created other vaccines for military use. The Allies created the
botulinum toxoid because they got false intelligence that the Axis powers had weaponized a
neurotoxin produced by Clostridium botulinum. The toxin is extremely potent and injecting two
billionths of a gram, of its most powerful strain could kill a full grown adult. During the war, Canada
produced over 25,000 doses of the toxoid while the United States produced over 1 million units.
Natural occurring botulinum outbreaks are rare, but governments have always feared the use of the
toxin as a biological weapon. In 1991, Iraq claimed

Vonage Cash Flows
Consequently, to reviewing the Vonage s statement of cash flows for the years, 2008, 2007, and 2006
one will answer the following questions. First, how does Vonage s net income for each year compare
to its cash flows from operating activities? Secondly, does Vonage appear to be improving its position
in the telecommunications business? Third, how did Vonage pay off over $250 million in debt in
2008? Furthermore, where did they obtain the funds to repay the debt? Lastly, does Vonage cash
position appear to be improving or deteriorating? Chapter fourteen focused on statements of cash flow
from various corporations. Even though many organizations report net losses on their earning
statements, they also report positive cash flows from operating activities. Vonage is a real example of
how a company can be both positive and adverse in the statement of cash flows. To answer the first
question, how does Vonage s net income for each year compare to its cash flows from operating
activities. One must first analysis the statements of cash flow in detail. An individual first observes the
cash flows from operating activities referencing to the net income (loss). The following amounts
become apparent. The year 2008 the net income was $ 64,576 million. The year 2007 the net income

other financial reports, the balance sheet as well as the income statement to look at the big picture

The Importance Of Creatine
Creatine is an organic molecule that is found in the human body as well as other vertebrate animal s
tissue ( Creatine ). It is considered an amino acid. Creatine is made naturally in the liver or can be
taken as a supplement ( Creatine ). Creatine has shown that when taken as a supplement it has many
benefits to the human body.
Structure and Properties: The formula for creatine is; C4H9N3O2 ( Creatine ). The structure is: By
looking at the structure of creatine and the bonds present, we can understand a lot of the properties.
The melting point of creatine is 255 degrees Celsius ( Creatine ). This is a relatively high boiling point
for a molecule. The high boiling point is due to the hydrogen bonds present between the oxygen and
hydrogen and the nitrogen and hydrogen. Hydrogen bonds are very strong and not easily broken.
Hydrogen bonds increase strength with numbers, this causes the melting point to be higher in a
molecule with more than one area where hydrogen bonding is present. Hydrogen bonding can occur
with the oxygen and the nitrogen in the molecule.
Shapes:
The shapes are determined by the bonds and the lone pairs on the atom. The bonds and lone pairs
cause the molecule to bend into different shapes dependent on the number of bonds and lone pairs.
They bend into a specific shape with different angle degrees.

United States, Missouri V. Mcneely, 569 U. S
Name and Citation of Case: United States, Missouri v. Mcneely, 569 U. S. (2013) Decision: The
Supreme Court attests. The Court noticed that its point of reference requests a case by case
examination when lower courts figure out if urgent conditions advocated a warrantless pursuit.
However, the State contended that exigency essentially exists in any DWI related blood test given that
blood alcohol content quickly decreases with time, the Court found no argumentation to embrace a per
se rule. The Court concurred that essentially postponing a blood test to get a warrant would adversely
influence the supportive value of the outcomes. However, it contemplated that when the state have
sufficient time to get a warrant, the Fourth Amendment obliges it to do as such. While getting a
warrant is unrealistic, the blood testing may well honor an exigency exception. Since the State
construct its contention exclusively in light of the proposed per se rule, the Court declined to detail the
significant elements courts must weigh while investigating exigency in DWI cases. The State Supreme
Court affirmed, relying on Schmerber v. California, 384 U. S. 757, in which this Court upheld a DWI
suspect s warrantless blood test where the officer might reasonably have believed that he was
confronted with an emergency, in which the delay necessary to obtain a warrant, under the
circumstances, threatened the destruction of evidence, id., at 770 (Missouri v. McNeely, 2013) How

The Writer s First Line Generator Summary
The Writer s First Line Generator is a website that has some computer generated assistance if you are
writing. This week wordpress has been encouraging a daily post of flash fiction and it helped me
identify a direction I could take to write my flash fiction post of two days ago.
However, yesterday I went back to the site to see if I could mine it more for inspiration. It suggested
an introduction very, very similar to my post of the twenty fifth. This is what it had for me:
The afternoon when my brother murdered his wife, I became a millionaire s tailor.
I was unhappy that what seemed promising to get some flash fiction rolling was quickly becoming
redundant.
Frankly, this sentence seems a little strange; it was refreshing to have a jump off point two days ago
for flash fiction, but the same general composition would likely result if I went from there. However,
tonight, I m thinking about it, and suddenly I realize I can go to the Content Creation Tool below.
Basically, Spinbot alters a composition so that a substantial numbers of words among the whole of the
piece are turned into different words. The result is amusing, somewhat ... Show more content on

a mogul might have more of an impact than the life of a tailor, in fiction that tailor may be more
clearly defined as the protagonist and therefore of greater relevance to the story going forward from

Analysis Of The Book Maus
Adolf Hitler stated, The Jews are undoubtedly a race, but they are not human. (2) Adolf Hitler was the
man who started the Nazi Regime which became the biggest massacre in the world. The massacre was
known as the Holocaust in which millions of Jews were killed. Maus tells the story of father who was
a Polish Jew at the time of the Holocaust. Maus is also portrayed visually with high angle shots, low
angle shots, curved lines, shadows and rule of thirds. Art Spiegelman drew his graphics in specific
way, which was to grab the reader s attention more to the pictures rather than the words because a
photo can explain a thousand words. There are two underlining stories in Maus. One story is telling
how Vladeck survived Auschwitz and the other story is how Art, Vladeck s son, gets his story from his
father and the relationship between Art and Vladeck.
A graphic novel is a standalone pictorial narrative or a collective of single comic issues published in a
book format. Maus is a graphic novel where Art Spiegelman tell the story of his father s experience in
the Holocaust through pictures. Art Spiegelman does this through the use of shadows, symmetry, low
and high points and rule of thirds. A well balanced frame gives the readers a sense of peace and
security but throughout Maus there are many times where he does not want us to feel peaceful or safe.
The last frame on page 32 is a perfect example. The flag is the vocal point. The Jews are very scared

Summary Of The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian...
Native Americans are mostly judged by their addictions and the battles they fought. They are not
normally judged by the hardships they had to face. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian
and Smoke Signals show that these struggles are real. In his book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part
Time Indian, and his movie, Smoke Signals, Sherman Alexie wrote about the challenges of being a
Native American. Diary and Smoke Signals are similar because they both showed many family
problems throughout the story lines. Also, they are similar in that the families faced difficulty with
alcohol addiction. They differ because in Diary, the main character, Junior, adapts to his new school
that has all white students while in Smoke Signals, Victor tries not to interact with anyone outside his
race.
First, Diary and Smoke Signals characters have both had some difficult times dealing with family
problems from abuse to death. In Smoke Signals, Victor s dad, Arnold, physically abused Victor when
he was a child. Immediately after Arnold hit Victor, Arnold said, I didn t mean to (Smoke Signals).
The abuse was a large factor into why Arnold left Victor when he was a child. However in Diary, there
is case of abuse involving Rowdy, Junior s friend. Rowdy s father would constantly hit him. Rowdy
would walk around with bruises and scars showing and he acted like he was proud of them. Junior
from Diary also went through a hardship because his grandmother died when she was hit by a car.

  • 2. American Bar Association Essay Topics The American Bar Association By James R. Silkenat The original Constitution of the American Bar Association defined the purpose of the ABA as being for the advancement of the science of jurisprudence, the promotion of the administration of justice and a uniformity of legislation throughout the country.... While this Constitution still considerably shapes the focus of the ABA, today s legal profession is very different from what it was when the ABA was first formed 137 years ago in Saratoga Springs, New York. When 75 lawyers from 20 states and the District of Columbia met to establish the American Bar Association on August 21, 1878, there was no national code of ethics. Most lawyers practiced solo. There were no universal standards for law schools, since most lawyers did not have law degrees and attending law school at that time was rare. Young lawyers learned their craft through apprenticeships and by reading classic legal texts. Improving diversity within the profession was almost certainly not a topic of conversation. Today, the ABA is as committed as ever to improving the justice system and the law. It works to serve its members, the legal profession, and the public by defending liberty and pursuing justice as the national voice of the legal profession. The ABA achieves its mission through four goals, as evidenced on the organization s website: Goal I: Serve Our Members. Objective: 1. Provide benefits, programs and services which promote members professional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Research Paper On Rihanna Unlike many past decades, the 2000s did not see the creation or emergence of many styles, with the exception of a few indie related genres such as emo,[1] Alternative R B, and electronic subgenres like Liquid funk and UK funky. Convergence of different styles was one of the more defining features of the decade, as seen with the creation and commercial success of the British grime genre and trap and chillwave in the United States.[2] Nevertheless, distinguishable elements can be attributed to the decade from a musical point of view, such as the common and mainstream usage of pitch correction software Auto Tune, as well as the rise of the internet, media player programmes such as iTunes and music and video sharing websites such as YouTube. Also, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... American and European popular music became more popular in Asia. Genres such as J Pop and K Pop remained popular throughout the decade. In other parts of Asia, including India, Indian pop music, closely linked to Bollywood films and filmi music, was popular alongside Western pop music. In Latin America, whilst R B, hip hop and pop rock did have influence and success, Latin based pop music remained highly popular. Reggaeton became a definitive genre in 2000s Latin music, as well as salsa and merengue. Subgenres fusing Latin music such as merengue and reggaeton with hip hop and rap music became popular from the middle of the decade onwards. The Internet allowed unprecedented access to music and allowed artists to distribute music freely without label backing.[6] Innumerable online outlets and sheer volume of music also offers musicians more musical influences to draw from.[1][6] Although more affection for the music is likely to grow over time, two public opinion polls listed the 2000s as the least favored tune decade of the last 50 ... • 4. Bootstrap Sampling In Cluster Analysis Essay Bootstrap sampling in cluster analysis is a valuable tool that can be used in bioinformatics as well as in other areas of research. In bioinformatics, clustering can be used in genetics studies to find clusters of subjects according to their gene expression levels. We can then see if subjects with the same disease state or treatment have the same gene profiles, which can give us more information about diseases or treatments and their relations to genetics. The Hierarchical Ordered Partitioning and Collapsing Hybrid (HOPACH) clustering algorithm can be used to identify clusters of data. There is a package in R that corresponds to this method which is built especially for bioinformatical data. This method works in four steps: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One question that was asked during the in class discussion, but was never answered was the number of bootstrap datasets that were used in the HOPACH method. In looking further into this, I found that the default number of bootstrap samples is 1000. The documentation for this package noted that this method is computationally expensive, especially as the number of bootstrap samples gets larger. Something that I would be interested in learning more about is the extent to which the number of bootstrap samples affects the results of the cluster validation as well as how low you can go in the number of bootstrap samples while still ensuring a relatively high level of accuracy. Especially for big data sets I would assume that it is important to minimize the computational time and power used in analysis, so it would be valuable to have more information on the effects of lowering the number of bootstrap samples both on computational expense as well as on accuracy. I am also curious concerning other ways the HOPACH method along with bootstrapping could be used within the field of bioinformatics. One application, which we touched on a little bit during our discussion, might be to cluster genes rather than research subjects. I think this would only be practical after the number of genes of interest had been minimized through other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Madagascar s Major Environmental Problems Affected... A geographer explores how Madagascar s major environmental problems impact the wildlife development in Madagascar Abstract This essay discusses how five different environmental problems that occur in Madagascar disturb the plants and animals living in the country. Environmental problems include deforestation, agricultural fires, erosion, overexploitation of living resources, and invasions of alien species. Unfortunately, as result of the environmental problems, native species are losing their homes and are struggling to survive. Fortunately, there are organizations where conservationists are working hard to help save the animals from extinction. When people think about Madagascar, images of beautiful, lush green rainforest, warm, sandy beaches along crystal clear water and exotic animals come to mind. Madagascar is a large island that is located in the Indian Ocean, just off the southeastern coast of Africa. According to Africa Diversity and Development, the population in 2009 was nineteen point five million people, many of which living on less than two dollars a day (Binns, 2011). This landmass is home to an extraordinary variety of animals including Flat Tailed Geckos, Comet Moths, Panther Chameleons and Tomato Frogs. Many of the animals found in Madagascar cannot be found anywhere else on this planet. Unfortunately, environmental problems are negatively impacting the wildlife. St Albans City Dc V International Computers Ltd St Albans City and DC v International Computers Ltd [1996] 4 All ER 481 The case of St Albans City DC v International Computers Ltd, which took place in the year 1996 at the court of appeal, concerned the sale of computer software between a council body and a large software company. St Albans District Council had the responsibility to collect a poll tax from its residents. The council hired, International Computer Limited, via invitation to tender, to provide them with the software to calculate the population required to pay the community charge. A software malfunction resulted in an over calculation of the population by approximately 3000 people. Consequently the council lost £484,000 (primary loss) in revenue, plus an additional £830,886 by way of interest and a further loss of £685,000 (secondary loss). • 8. Fear In Frankenstein Essay In Western society, fear is displayed through mass media through the mind of the individual and community. The fear item is named and the response is dictated. A supreme example of fear inculcation with a directed response happened after the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. From 9/11 came the so called War On Terror, the passing of the Homeland Security Act in 2002, the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, and its effect on the civil liberties of the American people, exponentially increased national security, and a reawakening of racially motivated hostility and racial profiling. Fear is no longer directed merely toward violent radicals but also toward senseless violence within communities, racism and intolerance, hatred and despair, and the devastation of arable soil. Fear presses in on all sides and thus created a new monster a human monster. However, arguably, the first prominent monster in English literature was the Monster in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Additionally, Mary Shelley s novel discusses fear and the dark corridors of the human heart. Through analysis of Frankenstein, these monstrous catastrophes can be prevented. We have chosen to base our report on the Google search engine; a revolutionary innovation that has transformed the way in which the internet is used. 1.1 Introduction Google began life as a research project between two Stanford University graduate students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin in January, 1996. They hypothesized that developing a search engine that analysed the relationships between websites would be more effective than merely counting the words on a page. Thus, the Google search engine differs from other search engines as it uses a programme that checks the amount of back links to a page, therefore assuming that those pages ... From the analysis this table it is clear to see that since Google was launched they have gone from strength to strength. They have continuously added new innovations to exceed their competitors and gain such a large market share. (For more information on their competitors please see section 2.3, of this report). The major innovations which have had such a great impact on the industry include Google s increase in language versions (www.google.com) this enable users around the world to search in their own language rather than English. This opened up the market available to Google and subsequently they opened up many R D departments over the last couple of years worldwide which will aid their innovations. Analysing the impact of Google was an interesting and intricate task due to the ambiguous and undefined nature of the industry the company is in. In reality, is Google merely competing amongst other search engines such as Yahoo, the internet as a whole or perhaps an even larger range of industries? • 12. John Winthrop And The Puritan Movement There is no doubt that writings of Jonathan Edward s and John Winthrop had a tremendous influence in the Puritan movement in the new world. They helped set values and establish order in the new communities. Both writings deliver on puritan principles and had a critical role in shaping much of the puritan religious beliefs, but granting all this they are tremendously different. The reason why these writings have so little in common, despite both being puritan doctrines, is because of the different situations each was written in. A Model of Christian Charity and Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God were written about one hundred years apart, in two different centuries, and most importantly at two different stages of the puritan movement. ... When Edwards was writing his sermon he was beginning to witness deterioration in the original puritan communities. He felt that the religious ideals first established by his predecessor Winthrop were slipping among the puritans. Edwards wanted to have an impact on his readers. To him it was more effective using scare tactics over positive encouragement to discuss proper conduct and God s wrath. Edwards wanted to make sure the members of puritan society understood just how important their behavior and conduct while on earth was. He wrote about the certain punishments that awaited in hell for those who did not properly adhere to the puritan religious values. Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God is full of strong and vivid images of hell, comparing hell to a pit of fire and depicts how Unconverted men walk over the pit of hell on a rotten covering (Edwards). He crafted this imagery as a deterrent example specifically to awaken the readers, and to remind them of the power of God and his harshness when it comes to doing away with sinners. This is present in the story The end of something , but how does he achieve this and what effect does it have on the story. Hemingway has an economical writing style, which is achieved through the repetition of words. An example of this is the use of the word said after any dialogue between Marjorie and Nick. This can seem quite juvenile in style, many authors would be more descriptive, but by repeating this simple and plain word Hemingway is commenting on the tediousness of their relationship. This is reinforced later when Nick remarks it isn t fun anymore . When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several lines and words in the story that have double meanings and it is for us the reader to interpret them. An example of this is the word Lying in the following sentence Yes Nick said lying, his face on the blanket . Lying could mean one of two things, lying face down or not telling the truth. If we take the former meaning he could be lying because he doesn t want to look at Bill because he feels guilty, if we take the latter then it suggests that Nick is embarrassed about his actions and doesn t want to admit that he hurt Marjorie. The use of double entrées make the audience think more about there own perception and is also economical because it is using one word to convey two meanings. There is also a vagueness in the story where we the audience are meant to fill in the gaps. For example the relationship between Bill and Nick is not explained, are they just friends or is there an illusion to a homoerotic relationship? This theory that environmentally induced changes to an organism s physical or biochemical traits could be passed on to its offspring was the main tenet in Lamarck s work during the early 1800s. It was accepted by most biologists during Lamarck s time, until the work of Darwin on evolution by natural selection in the mid 1800s and the discovery of Mendel s work on heredity in the early 1900s lead most biologists to discount Lamarck s theory. Joravsky, an American scholar, discounts Medvedev s argument on the influence of Marxist theory and emphasizes Lysenko s appeal to improving collectivized agriculture (The Lysenko Affair 228). The rhetoric of Lysenko s speech and other texts produced during the time shows that the Cold War had a profound influence on how ideas were interpreted. This paper uses first and second generation panel unit root testsfootnote{For more information see Hurlin (2007). } on the National Income and Product Accounts (NIPA) that make up the PCE. Second generation tests differ from first generation tests in that the latter drop the assumption of cross sectional independence the error term. Aggregation bias exists if NIPA inflation differentials converge or diverge at different levels of aggregation. An inflation differential is the difference between inflation rates in one sector and the inflation rate in another sector. Higher levels of aggregation are made to represent the lower, more dis aggregate levels. If aggregates properly represent the underlying data then each level should converge or diverge the same. Aggregation is important because the process used to aggregate the data may remove information from the data and create divergent inflation differentials when dis aggregate inflation rates converge. Monetary policy of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is based on a target inflation rate, however there are concerns that if the FOMC focus s on aggregate inflation it may cause individual sectors to diverge. Due to its success, the government implemented vaccine programs across the country. During the 1920 s and 1930 s between 26 and 55 people died from tetanus every year. After vaccine programs started in the 1940 s, rates rapidly declined. Between 2000 and 2013, there were only 42 reported cases of tetanus in Canada. When war broke out for the second time, the fear of another influenza outbreak was at the forefront of people s minds. Due to this, The US government put together vaccine development groups. The structure is: By looking at the structure of creatine and the bonds present, we can understand a lot of the properties. The melting point of creatine is 255 degrees Celsius ( Creatine ). This is a relatively high boiling point for a molecule. The high boiling point is due to the hydrogen bonds present between the oxygen and hydrogen and the nitrogen and hydrogen. Hydrogen bonds are very strong and not easily broken. Hydrogen bonds increase strength with numbers, this causes the melting point to be higher in a molecule with more than one area where hydrogen bonding is present. Hydrogen bonding can occur with the oxygen and the nitrogen in the molecule. Shapes: The shapes are determined by the bonds and the lone pairs on the atom. The Court noticed that its point of reference requests a case by case examination when lower courts figure out if urgent conditions advocated a warrantless pursuit. However, the State contended that exigency essentially exists in any DWI related blood test given that blood alcohol content quickly decreases with time, the Court found no argumentation to embrace a per se rule. The Court concurred that essentially postponing a blood test to get a warrant would adversely influence the supportive value of the outcomes. However, it contemplated that when the state have sufficient time to get a warrant, the Fourth Amendment obliges it to do as such. While getting a warrant is unrealistic, the blood testing may well honor an exigency exception.
