1910 Revolution Essay
The 1910 Revolution in Mexico was the first of Latin America s great 20th century revolutions. The
revolution prompted a political system that gave way to an unmatched stability in Mexico for more
than half a century. The political, social, and cultural effects of the revolution triggered the formation
of the PRI, the agrarian reform, a new relationship with the United States, and in turn the
consolidation of national identity through cultural policies. In looking at these effects of the 1910
Revolution, we can determine why developments in Mexico today are so important to the United
States and characterize current bilateral relations, given such a deep rooted complex U.S. Mexico
relationship.
The Mexican Revolution was a violent political, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The party represented the new power structure that had emerged as a result of the Mexican
Revolution, an alliance between political military leaders and labor and peasant leaders. This
governing coalition sought more stability in government. One specific issue was in the consolidation
of Mexico s post revolutionary political regime. The current president, who under the Mexican
constitution could serve only one term, selected his own successor through an informal process known
as the dedazo (big finger) (Skidmore, Smith, Green, p. 62). Because of this, a president was either
choosing the future of Mexico or could act behind the scenes of another. The issues that the PRI
focused on depended on the president at hand. President Miguel Alemán, the first civilian president
since before the revolution, was focused on Mexico s infrastructure. As a result of his construction,
tourism from the United States was heightened in Mexico. The following president, Adolfo Ruiz
Cortines, opted for a hard money strategy, in which he set a stricter exchange rate from pesos to
dollars and made Mexico less expensive for

Importance Of College Education Essay
Linda Jiang Student Essay Question #1: Why is a college education important to you? 300 500 words
each
A college education is important to me because it opens my future for better opportunities within the
medical field. Currently, a pharmacist is a profession that I am the most interested in because I enjoy
chemistry, the meticulous, and well organized work that they are known for. A college education will
teach me the skills to become a pharmacist, provide me with hands on experiences in this career, and
give me ample resources to find a job in the most enjoyable career path. Even if I choose to pursue a
different career, a college education will most definitely prepare me for the career as long as I am
willing to study and work hard. In the competitive world that we live in, even a low paying job can be
difficult to procure, not to mention how scarce high paying jobs and reasonable working conditions
are. A college education makes it easier to get high paying jobs and stand out in job applications.
College graduates have an edge and a larger variety of jobs to choose from. Even if through the
college education I do not find what I enjoy doing, the professors, people I would have met, and
activities that I would have participated in, will most likely give me a larger insight on what I want to
do as a career.
In addition to opening my future to better opportunities, there are also two other reasons why a college
education is important to me. The first reason is that I

The Character of Falstaff in Henry IV Essay
The Character of Falstaff in Henry IV
None of Shakespeare s plays are read more than the first and second parts of Henry IV. Particularly in
Henry IV Part I, Shakespeare writes chronologically historical and interesting to follow events. The
reader follows the chain of events with devotion and content eager to find out what happens next.
Even though the hero of the play is Prince Henry, or Hal as we know him, the reader may find
themselves more focused on Falstaff, one of the other major characters that Shakespeare created for
comical relief. He was a witty, self conscious, self centered companion of the Prince. King Henry even
criticized his eldest son for keeping company with such a low man. Even though Hal is ... Show more

Prince Hal was the hero of the play, but Falstaff was the character to follow. (Johnson 235)
Hal s opposite was a peer to him, the younger of the Percy s Hotspur. Shakespeare properly named
this character Hotspur for he was indeed a character with a hot temper and passionate ideas and
actions. He longed for a one on one match with the Prince, which he did get at the end of the play.
Unfortunately for himself, he lost it and was eventually eliminated. Yet I would have to agree with
Johnson once again that Falstaff received the center attention of the reader.( Johnson 235 )
Sir John, or as he was commonly known in the play as Falstaff, was a knight to the King Henry. He
was a man of large proportions, indulging into the sweet things in life. He was a man of low morale,
as Johnson had noted in his essay. He was a coward and the viewer got to see that in the robbery scene
that was aforementioned above. He cared for nothing in life but to satisfy his needs. He preyed upon
the poor, he was always ready to cheat and lie. Yet we have grown an attachment to him, for he is a
character that we learn to like. Michael Goldman highlighted that point in his Shakespeare and the
Energies of Drama. When at the end of the Boar s Head Tavern scene, when the viewer learns that the
Sheriff is outside looking for the robbers, Prince Hal defends the fat knight. However, we find Falstaff
soundly asleep behind an array. This scene

Why We Shouldn T Go To Mars Analysis
Imagine yourself sending a spouse to space on a mission to test the living conditions on Mars. You
spent millions of dollars to send this person there. After a few months, you receive news that your
spouse passed away during the mission due to the hazardous conditions in space. Now you are left
alone to fend for yourself due to this exploration journey. The source Why We Shouldn t Go To Mars
by Gregg Easterbrook is about the many reasons why going to Mars is unsafe and dangerous. On the
contrary, the source Remarks at the Dedication of the Aerospace Medical Health Center by JFK is
about how space exploration is a very wise idea and should be put into practice. The Political Cartoon
illustrates how way too much money is being spent on space exploration when it could be spent in
other ways. Although others may disagree, that travelling through the galaxies is a great use of time,

Ethical Issues Paper
Ethical issues are a significant area for companies doing business deals on a daily basis. In today s
high tech and the ultra competitive business world, unfortunately, ethical conduct is often ignored.
Many huge companies like Enron, Arthur Anderson, AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as
Bank of America, are crushed, or seriously damaged with the lack of ethics compass in place.
Organization ethics is the guidelines and principles by which businesses operate; the principles and
values of each person in a business will have a direct influence on the company s success (Renshaw,
Kubat Angellotto, 2013, p. 11).
The ethical principles can be employed to address organizational issues regarding financial ethics,
business entities, confidentiality, and decision making. In which, the organizational ethics are
expressed the values of the organization to its employees and stakeholders. The ethical principles
would influence by external pressures; as well as the organization s ethical climate affects employee

In a lot of cases, ethical obligations go beyond legal responsibilities. But in some cases, the activities
may be legal, but not perceived as ethical at the same time (Anstead, 2012). Many organizations can
act ethically to meet expectations of the public and consumers. However, the irresponsible lending of
subprime mortgage loan became a recurring problem to Bank of America. According to Reuters, Bank
of America has logged some $50 billions of expense for settlement of lawsuits and related legal cost
since 2008 2009 financial crisis (Rudegeair, 2014). The crisis caused millions of homeowner went in

Production Overheads Based On Direct Labour Hours Essay
Costing
At present PC4U apportions its production overheads based on direct labour hours. With a range of
products available and opportunity for customising these products individually to meet the retailer s
needs, this report aims to assess the effectiveness of this traditional method of allocating production
overheads. It will discuss the drawbacks of the current approach used by PC4U, as well as an
alternative approach in the Activity Based Costing system, which is intended to overcome the
weakness of the traditional method by having various pools of costs and then allocating each pool s
costs on the basis of its root cause. (Averkamp 2007) As well as comparing the benefits and
drawbacks of these costing systems to determine what recommendations should be given regarding
the approach PC4U should adopt, the report shall also discuss the impact an activity based
management system may have on the company.
The current method of apportioning production overheads based on direct labour hours can be
described as a traditional approach to product costing. In a manufacturing company s financial
statements, each item produced must be allocated some of the production overheads to make the
statements compliant. Sometimes the individual costs of these items can be calculated incorrectly
based on overall production overhead and the system of allocating in place, however the overall
financial statement can still be accurate. This traditional method of allocating the production

Kosovo Research Paper
Can Kosovo ever be a strong enough country to stand on its own is a question that we have to ask!
Will they ever become a place that will be able to grow to a power nation? With their enemies next
door to them; will they be able to stand and fight for their country? Do they have enough resources to
help them just to get started on a road back to be a country that the people will be proud of? With the
US and all their allies helping them; what state will we be in financially with all the other debt that we
have? These are the question I have to ask you concerning this country, the country of Kosovo!
Kosovo was once part of Yugoslavia from the year 1918 until 1989. In the year of 1989 was the fall of
Yugoslavia. During that year, NATO stepped in to assist Kosovo in declaring its independence from
Serbia, a nation that have suppressed this country for many years. Even though Kosovo has declared
their independence from Serbia it is not recognized by many countries. The U.S and many European
countries recognize them as being an independent country, but Serbia, all their allies and some of ...

Analysis Of The Poem The Mahabharta
Abstract:The greatest Indian epic, The Mahabharta has resonated in the collective imaginations for
millenniums owing to its universal themes. Having given the world the Bhagavad Gita, the story of
Damayanti, an abbreviated version of the Ramayana, and the Rishyasringa, often considered as works
in their own right, it is basically a story of men pursuing power and men who have wronged and have
been wronged with. By virtue of this content, the author has tried to put forth her take on the grey
characters of Mahabharta.
Keywords:Pandavas, Draupadi, Bhagwat Gita, Krishna, Duryodhana 1. Introduction
Mahabharata has been an oft cited Indian epic for its grey portrayal of characters, their foibles and the
unique codes of righteousness it preaches. The story came into existence as conceived by the medieval
saint Tulsidas, and spread by word of mouth for centuries thereafter. The first and most noted English
text on Mahabharata has been Mahabharata as written by C. Rajagopalachari which is the central
focus of discourse here. A lot has been said about the anecdotes, preachings and characterisation of the
folklore Mahabharata at various social platforms and literary articles. For those of the opinion that the
original Mahabharata is just a story from the standpoint of Pandavas; there are various other texts like
Rashmirathi and Mrityunjay (Mahabharata in Karn s perspective) and The Palace of Illusions
(Draupadi s perspective of turnings) for reference and takes on less focussed

The Dangers Of Alcohol Abuse
Many are unaware of the dangers alcohol causes because it is sold and distributed legally in the United

of people that consume alcohol on a weekly basis is astounding, 66% of people say that they consume
over four drinks a week. Twelve percent of the people asked say they consumed over eight drinks in
the past week ( Majority in U.S. Drink ). On average there is 1.4 million people arrested a year for

Uplifting Book Of Psalms
I would have to say that there are several divisions of Psalms that I like to read and quote. To me, the
Book of Psalms is an uplifting book for me. A few that I enjoy are Psalms 23:1 6; 24:1 10; 27:1 3;

is fighting on my behalf. He s going to intercede between me and the problem if I seek Him.
No matter what the adversity may be, God wants you to know that He is sufficient, that He is enough,
and that He can handle it if we allow Him too. Many times as Christians, we ask God to handle a

The Competition Of The Construction Building Supply Industry
The competition in the construction building supply industry is very strong on a local and regional
level, and moderate on a national level. Sales in 2014 of the top fifty eight U.S. building material
suppliers who are similar to BLDR in product offerings totaled 18.7 billion dollars (Webb, 2015b),
and BLDR s share of this is over thirty percent. BLDR s closest competitor, BMC STOCK Holdings,
Inc. (BMC) is only half its size, however holds vast national presence and is closest in product
offerings, making BMC BLDR s chief competitor. 84 Lumber Company is within BMC s sale volume,
however is regionally concentrated towards Eastern U.S. markets. Finally, US LBM Holdings, LLC
holds national presence, however utilizes a hands off approach from corporate, by marketing multiple
local and regional storefront brands, which weakens strategic initiatives at a national level. Table 1
compares BLDR s three main competitors.
Currently, competition for providing pre cut framing systems is relatively low. BLDR is into its
second year of its test market, and BMC is only starting its second year of national marketing efforts
for its pre cut framing systems, branded READY FRAME® (BMC, 2016). There are no other building
material suppliers offering this product on a national level.

`` Night `` By Elie Wiesel
Robert Shapiro, an American civil litigator once said, To me, the Holocaust stands alone as the most
horrible human event in modern civilization, The Holocaust, a genocide led by Adolf Hitler, killed six
million jews, and dramatically affected the whole world. The memoir Night, written by Elie Wiesel
describes the brutality Wiesel experienced during the Holocaust, and how life changing it was.
Although some may believe the memoir written by Elie Wiesel was titled Night because he was forced
to leave his home during the night, Wiesel illustrates Jews losing hope, faith, and happiness through
the symbol of Night, to prove that the memoir was titled Night to symbolize the darkness the
holocaust created. The first darkness that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wiesel then gave up, he figured there was no longer a chance that he could be saved which again led
to darkness. Is this example, the darkness the night brings symbolises loss of hope, and becoming
closer to death. Once Wiesel gave up trying, and claimed it was over, the light in his life got slightly
dimmer, and he became closer to death. The next reason Night was the title of the memoir written by
Wiesel was because the darkness in night symbolized death. Thousands of Jews were sentenced to
death each day, leaving everybody a little more hurt and broken. The first example of death, that helps
portray the title of Night, is in the quote, Was there a single place here where you were not in danger
of death? (Wiesel 37). In this quote, Wiesel shows how dangerous and recurrent death was and bases
the title off of these dangerous, mass killings. Darkness commonly symbolizes death, and the pain and
suffering one feels being exposed to it. The symbol also helps show that the killings were not normal,
they were darker like the night, more evil and inhumane than anything they had previously
experienced. The title Night, symbolizes the darkness during this painful event, and the darkness
universally symbolizes evil. So by using the title Night, Wiesel is able to indirectly explain how
inhumane these mass killings really are. Another quote that shows the title is used to symbolize

A New Form Of Leadership
Paul Ryan, current Speaker of the House, holds an antithetic leadership style to solve issues in the
future of congress. However, it is not a new form of leadership we have seen in politics. Paul Ryan is a
Republican and the Republicans do currently have power in the Senate and House of Representatives.
Clearly though, the Republican Party is divided and struggles to solve current issues in congress.
Currently this is due to collective action issues such as, the need for information, time, and
coordination currently in Republican Party. What Paul Ryan has done to solve these issues so far is,
unify republicans, and at the same time solve collective action issues and other problems thus far by
giving congressional committees the power to achieve these issues. The history of Congressional
power from 1890 to present day has varied from strong individuals, to strong committees. From 1890
to about 1910 the speaker would heavily influence the House of Representatives. Speakers had the
power to appoint the committees to chairs, and had control of legislative agenda s. But in 1910, a
revolt had happened against Speaker Joe Cannon. Power shifted to the committees whose leaders were
based on seniority. From the 1920 s to the 1970 s party influence was very weak and this was known
as the era of committee government. Beginning in the 1970 s preferences of the party and its members
became more similar. They did not have to be as concerned with the leader s preferences, because it

Introduction: This practical report is based on the experiment of identifying the two alkanes used in
the alcohols. The aim of this practical was to determine the type of alcohol A and B were by using
their boiling points and the amount of carbons each alcohol had. Hypothesis: If more carbon atoms are
added to an alcohol then the boiling point of the alcohol will be higher. Variables: Independent: The
independent variable of this practical was the type of alcohol. Dependent: The dependent variable of
this practical was the boiling point of the alcohol. Controlled: The controlled variables of this practical

As the number of carbon atoms is increased the boiling point of the alkane is also increased.
Beginning at 1 carbon atom, the boiling point was 164 degrees. As another carbon atom was added,
this boiling point increased. This continued through to 10 carbon atoms which had a boiling point of
174 degrees. In the second graph, it was found that the trend is decreasing. As the number of carbon
atoms is increased the melting point of the alkane decreased. Beginning at 1 carbon atom, the melting
point was 182 degrees. As another carbon atom was added, this melting point decreased. This
continued through to 10 carbon atoms which had a melting point of 30 degrees. Since the two alcohols
used in this practical were Methanol and Propanol, the boiling point of those two alkanes were
focussed on. According to the graph and table, methane had 1 carbon atom and a boiling point of 164
degrees, while propane had 3 carbon atoms and a boiling point of 42 degrees. When testing the boiling
points of these alcohols in the practical experiment, it was found that alcohol A had a boiling point of
68 degrees and alcohol B had a boiling point of 99 degrees. These results proved that methane was
alcohol A and propane was alcohol B. This was determined as alcohol A had a lower boiling compared
to alcohol B. When comparing the boiling point of methane and propane, methane had the lower

Staphylococcus Aureus ( S. Aureus
Introduction: Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a spherical bacteria which is known to produce a
cytotoxin called Panton Valentine leucocidin (PLV) which destroys leukocytes, and kills tissue (Lina
et al., 1999). Five percent of strains of Staphylococcus are known to produce the disease causing toxin
(Lina et al., 1999), but though the amount of PLV producing strains is somewhat small, the strains
which produce PLV are apparently resistant to vancomycin, an antibiotic commonly used to treat staph
infections (CDC, 2002). The first recorded case of S. aureus resistance to vancomycin was a reduction
in sensitivity to the antibiotic observed in Japan, and has since spread to the United States (CDC,
2002). The most common source of infection of these drug resistant bacteria are actually in hospitals,
wherein the patients are exposed to the bacteria and subsequently infected (CDC, 2002). Because of
this rise of selection for vancomycin resistant bacteria, finding an alternative antibiotic treatment for
this strain of bacteria is imperative. There has been some consideration of alternatives to vancomycin
treatment of bacteria as sensitivity toward the drug decreases. Though vancomycin is still the
treatment standard for methicillin resistant bacteria, other compounds such as linezolid have proven to
be more effective. Linezolid is a currently FDA approved compound that disrupts protein synthesis in
the ribosomes of bacteria. The result of this disruption is

Zeitoun Character Analysis
In the novel, Zeitoun, Kathy tried many times to convince Zeitoun into evacuating, when hurricane
Katrina hit New Orleans. Unfortunately she was unsuccessful, and therefore he stayed in the city
through the hurricane. The novel, explains Zeitoun s obstinate refusal to evacuate from New Orleans
with his wife and children during the hurricane. [Zeitoun s] grandmother had stayed put during
countless storms in her home on Arwad Island, and he planned to do the same. A home was worth
fighting for. (Zeitoun, 70, Eggers). Despite the fact that a house is may seem replaceable, this is
actually symbolic of assimilation in the United States, just like Zeitoun s grandmother refused to leave
her house during many storms on Award Island, Zeitoun s has now settled in New Orleans and he is
not planning on leaving. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zeitoun is willing to do anything, even risk his life or risk losing his family in order to follow the steps
of his ancestors. In the meeting it was also discussed that Zeitoun has a family history that pushes him
to prove himself all the time, for example his brother Mohammad, this larger than life figure who had
achieved international recognition for his long distance swimming. While in New Orleans during the
Katrina hurricane Zeitoun also hopped that his siblings might see him in water like a sailor again,
being helpful and serving god, would show his siblings that he is a good man just like his brother
Muhammad. It can also be said that Zeitoun is an immigrant, and a Muslim. When he decided to his
country for another one, he always had the need to prove that he is as good as other civilians in New
Orleans, and therefore he wanted to stay back and help out others. I can connect Zeitoun s loyalty to
his family and city to

Relationship Between Coriolanus and Volumnia in William...
The Relationship Between Coriolanus and Volumnia
The speech patterns of Coriolanus reveal the title character s psychological turmoil. Churning with
self doubt about his determination, his relationship with those around him, and his relationship with
his mother, Coriolanus is a man at the mercy of his environment. The environment that shapes
Coriolanus is the instruction he receives from his mother Volumnia.1 In his relationship with his
mother, Coriolanus plays the weak and subservient role. Volumnia s treatment of Coriolanus during
his childhood and later, when he is an adult, profoundly molds Coriolanus. Even when absent in
scenes, Coriolanus s mother acts as an invisible force, shaping Coriolanus s interactions with other ...

Volumnia, unlike the other women in the play such as Virgilia, does not recoil from war and the
battlefield. Instead, Volumnia both identifies with the war hero and delights in both his triumphs and
his pain. In describing the pride she would gain from her sons deaths in battle, Volumnia separates
herself from the other women in the play who want nothing to do with war, I had rather eleven die
nobly for their country than one voluptuously surfeit out of action. (1.3.20 21). Thus the pride that
Coriolanus derives from his own wounds and wounded body is a product of his mother s pride in
having a wounded son. Volumnia describes with pride Coriolanus s bloody brow, Though you were
born in Rome! His bloody brow/ with his mailed hand then wiping (1.3.31 32). The pride that
Volumnia procures from her son s victories and injuries winds up reflecting itself on Coriolanus who
describes these victories and wounds with equal pride. By the end of the first act, Volumnia s
descriptions of mothering demonstrate the warlike spirit she has channeled into her raising of
Coriolanus. The imagery she uses in Act 1 Scene 3 also separates her from the other women in the
play. Volumnia speaks of blood, swords, and death, while women like Virgilia speak of sewing and
butterflies.
Volumnia s speech patterns put her in the commanding position in her relationship with Coriolanus. In

Comparing My Husband And I Cultures
For my sociology project, I decided to compare and contrast my husband and I cultures. In doing so I
discovered we shared many cultural norms and tradition although there was some noticeable
difference in terms of how our communities are run within our defined societies. My husband hails
from a small country on the coast of West Africa named Sierra Leone. That s a huge contrast from the
Hmong people who don t have a land to call home. Our people through centuries of prosecution have
scatted throughout Asia and America with the vast majority still residing in our ancestral land of
China. Despite this, however, Hmong people like the people of Sierra Leone continue to possess a
strong sense of identity and culture. Often Hmong communities in the United State take on a specific
identity, not unlike American Indians reservation or other sub cultural community in The United State.
Conversely, although the people of Sierra Leone have a nation filled with rich tradition and culture but
continue to be inundated by a western culture which could be having an adverse effect. Ultimately our
discussion highlights that both of our people ultimately want to move forward as one to a better and
prosper future.
My husband and I discussed the structure of family in our culture. While mine was a patriarch system,
his, however was the matriarch. Like most Asian culture the male is often the head of the family and
hold the most status. The people of Sierra Leone, however, hold the

Effect of Concentration on Osmosis
Aim
To find out how the concentration of sucrose solution affects the mass of the potato chip left in the
solution for one day.
Prediction
I predict that when the sucrose concentration is low the potato chip will gain mass. This is because
there will be a higher sucrose concentration in the potato chip so water will go into the potato from the
solution. I predict that when there is a high concentration of sucrose the potato will lose mass. This is
because there is a higher concentration of sucrose solution in the solution compared to that in the
potato chip so water from the potato will go into the solution to even it out.

I will measure their length with a ruler in mm and their mass on the scales in g. I will have two potato
chips in each test tube so that I can take an average of the two masses and lengths at each
concentration to make it more accurate. The independent variable will be the concentration of the
sucrose solution. I will do the experiment at five different levels of concentration; 1mol, 0.75 mol 0.5
mol, 0.25 mol, 0 mol.
Each of the solutions will be 20ml. 1mol = 20ml sucrose
0.75mol = 15ml sucrose and 5ml distilled water
0.5mol = 10ml sucrose and 10ml distilled water
0.25mol = 5ml sucrose and 15ml distilled water
0mol = 20ml distilled water
I will make sure that all the potato chips are the same length and width by cutting them with the same
borer and measuring their lengths and cutting them to all be equal. I will not leave and potato peel on
the ends of any of them as this may not let water through as easily. I will put them all in the test tubes
at the same time and get them out at the same time so as they all have the same length of time in the
solution. I will keep them all inn the same place so they all have the same temperature and light. Once
I have got them out I will gently pat them dry, as I do not want to include the liquid on them as their
mass. I will measure each of

Cough, cough. I m sorry; please lean in close as I know I am not far from the Heavens. Pray, please

Exposing the Weakness of Saint Anselm of Canterbury s Ontological Argument
In a world of scientific inquiry, atheism, and the assassination of God, we are often neglectful of our
Glorious God s existence. With new theories of neuropsychology, quantum physics, gene therapy,
evolution, and psychobiology, we are constantly forced to edge God out of our lives, to be replaced
with cold, empty scientific thought. What, with meme theory, genetic predisposition, evolutionary
spontaneous generation, dark matter, super string theory, multi layered universes, and the neurological
reasons behind consciousness, we are becoming more and more distant from the reality that is God.
This is disappointing. This is painful. And thankfully, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His major contribution to apologetics and theology is now called the Ontological Proof, which,
essentially, is a set of logical steps which show that God must exist.
One thousand years later, his proof is still a powerful argument against the plague of atheism. With it,
we can turn the tables on physicists, biologists, chemists, and psychologists. We can fall asleep at
night knowing in our soul that God does indeed exist. We can use the scientist s weapons of logic and
rhetoric to injure that scientist s theories.
But, the skeptic asks, how can we use a one thousand year old argument now, in the year 2000? Is it
not out of date? Is it still applicable in a world of black holes, nuclear physics, Einstein Rosen bridges,
and self replicating memes?
I answer in the affirmative, and I will relate the Ontological Argument in a more contemporaneous
way, with the hope that my more simplistic, understandable methods will prove effective.
Anselm s Ontological Argument:
The essential points of Anselm s arguments are these:
God exists, for there is goodness in the world, and goodness can be good only through a supreme good
that is good through itself, and only God is good through Himself.
God exists, for since whatever exists does so only through something, there must be a supremely great
being that exists through itself and through which all other things exist.
God exists, for there are degrees of worth in

The United States s Financial System
In the most basic definitions of economics, the United States s Financial system is broken down into
approximately five groups: the households, the firms, the market for factors of production, the market
of goods and services, and the government. Within these groups, there is a constant flow that
progresses in a circle through all of these groups in order to keep the economy running smoothly. This
system is based on the notion that both consumers and producers need to come together to transact.
However, buyers don t always have the money they need to buy supplies, and sellers don t always
have the money to produce products or provide services. When this occurs, it is important for both
investors and banks to offer aid in order to prevent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Banks would also help investors buy into companies, including letting people buy ownership in the
banks. The whole idea was to allow money to flow through the economy based on economic
principles of supply and demand. If there is a demand for cars, for example, let s help auto companies
create a proper supply and help car buyers purchase the cars. The Banks would always take a percent
of the transaction as their fee, and this is how the banks made their money. In the US, the role of the
government was simply to make sure nobody was cheating, so that prices and transactions would be
based on supply and demand, not tricks. · Over time, banks began to shake their role of middle men
for transactions. Instead, they began packaging and selling an array of new Financial Assets that were
considerably intricate. Straying from their traditional role of simply providing loans, they began
selling their loans to other banks and financial institutions. Investments banks would also allow people
to make bets on the future and buy such bets if there was someone else who would bet on the other
side. Along with all these new found policies, they began to combine investment packages in an
attempt to lower the risks of borrowers not paying back what they were lent. In the past, the
Government was very strict on which

  • 2. 1910 Revolution Essay The 1910 Revolution in Mexico was the first of Latin America s great 20th century revolutions. The revolution prompted a political system that gave way to an unmatched stability in Mexico for more than half a century. The political, social, and cultural effects of the revolution triggered the formation of the PRI, the agrarian reform, a new relationship with the United States, and in turn the consolidation of national identity through cultural policies. In looking at these effects of the 1910 Revolution, we can determine why developments in Mexico today are so important to the United States and characterize current bilateral relations, given such a deep rooted complex U.S. Mexico relationship. The Mexican Revolution was a violent political, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The party represented the new power structure that had emerged as a result of the Mexican Revolution, an alliance between political military leaders and labor and peasant leaders. This governing coalition sought more stability in government. One specific issue was in the consolidation of Mexico s post revolutionary political regime. The current president, who under the Mexican constitution could serve only one term, selected his own successor through an informal process known as the dedazo (big finger) (Skidmore, Smith, Green, p. 62). Because of this, a president was either choosing the future of Mexico or could act behind the scenes of another. The issues that the PRI focused on depended on the president at hand. President Miguel Alemán, the first civilian president since before the revolution, was focused on Mexico s infrastructure. As a result of his construction, tourism from the United States was heightened in Mexico. The following president, Adolfo Ruiz Cortines, opted for a hard money strategy, in which he set a stricter exchange rate from pesos to dollars and made Mexico less expensive for ... • 3. Importance Of College Education Essay Linda Jiang Student Essay Question #1: Why is a college education important to you? 300 500 words each A college education is important to me because it opens my future for better opportunities within the medical field. Currently, a pharmacist is a profession that I am the most interested in because I enjoy chemistry, the meticulous, and well organized work that they are known for. A college education will teach me the skills to become a pharmacist, provide me with hands on experiences in this career, and give me ample resources to find a job in the most enjoyable career path. Even if I choose to pursue a different career, a college education will most definitely prepare me for the career as long as I am willing to study and work hard. In the competitive world that we live in, even a low paying job can be difficult to procure, not to mention how scarce high paying jobs and reasonable working conditions are. A college education makes it easier to get high paying jobs and stand out in job applications. College graduates have an edge and a larger variety of jobs to choose from. Even if through the college education I do not find what I enjoy doing, the professors, people I would have met, and activities that I would have participated in, will most likely give me a larger insight on what I want to do as a career. In addition to opening my future to better opportunities, there are also two other reasons why a college education is important to me. The first reason is that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Character of Falstaff in Henry IV Essay The Character of Falstaff in Henry IV None of Shakespeare s plays are read more than the first and second parts of Henry IV. Particularly in Henry IV Part I, Shakespeare writes chronologically historical and interesting to follow events. The reader follows the chain of events with devotion and content eager to find out what happens next. Even though the hero of the play is Prince Henry, or Hal as we know him, the reader may find themselves more focused on Falstaff, one of the other major characters that Shakespeare created for comical relief. He was a witty, self conscious, self centered companion of the Prince. King Henry even criticized his eldest son for keeping company with such a low man. Even though Hal is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prince Hal was the hero of the play, but Falstaff was the character to follow. (Johnson 235) Hal s opposite was a peer to him, the younger of the Percy s Hotspur. Shakespeare properly named this character Hotspur for he was indeed a character with a hot temper and passionate ideas and actions. He longed for a one on one match with the Prince, which he did get at the end of the play. Unfortunately for himself, he lost it and was eventually eliminated. Yet I would have to agree with Johnson once again that Falstaff received the center attention of the reader.( Johnson 235 ) Sir John, or as he was commonly known in the play as Falstaff, was a knight to the King Henry. He was a man of large proportions, indulging into the sweet things in life. He was a man of low morale, as Johnson had noted in his essay. He was a coward and the viewer got to see that in the robbery scene that was aforementioned above. He cared for nothing in life but to satisfy his needs. He preyed upon the poor, he was always ready to cheat and lie. Yet we have grown an attachment to him, for he is a character that we learn to like. Michael Goldman highlighted that point in his Shakespeare and the Energies of Drama. When at the end of the Boar s Head Tavern scene, when the viewer learns that the Sheriff is outside looking for the robbers, Prince Hal defends the fat knight. However, we find Falstaff soundly asleep behind an array. This scene ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In today s high tech and the ultra competitive business world, unfortunately, ethical conduct is often ignored. Many huge companies like Enron, Arthur Anderson, AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as Bank of America, are crushed, or seriously damaged with the lack of ethics compass in place. • 12. Production Overheads Based On Direct Labour Hours Essay Costing At present PC4U apportions its production overheads based on direct labour hours. With a range of products available and opportunity for customising these products individually to meet the retailer s needs, this report aims to assess the effectiveness of this traditional method of allocating production overheads. It will discuss the drawbacks of the current approach used by PC4U, as well as an alternative approach in the Activity Based Costing system, which is intended to overcome the weakness of the traditional method by having various pools of costs and then allocating each pool s costs on the basis of its root cause. (Averkamp 2007) As well as comparing the benefits and drawbacks of these costing systems to determine what recommendations should be given regarding the approach PC4U should adopt, the report shall also discuss the impact an activity based management system may have on the company. The current method of apportioning production overheads based on direct labour hours can be described as a traditional approach to product costing. In a manufacturing company s financial statements, each item produced must be allocated some of the production overheads to make the statements compliant. Sometimes the individual costs of these items can be calculated incorrectly based on overall production overhead and the system of allocating in place, however the overall financial statement can still be accurate. Will they ever become a place that will be able to grow to a power nation? With their enemies next door to them; will they be able to stand and fight for their country? Do they have enough resources to help them just to get started on a road back to be a country that the people will be proud of? With the US and all their allies helping them; what state will we be in financially with all the other debt that we have? These are the question I have to ask you concerning this country, the country of Kosovo! Kosovo was once part of Yugoslavia from the year 1918 until 1989. In the year of 1989 was the fall of Yugoslavia. During that year, NATO stepped in to assist Kosovo in declaring its independence from Serbia, a nation that have suppressed this country for many years. By virtue of this content, the author has tried to put forth her take on the grey characters of Mahabharta. Keywords:Pandavas, Draupadi, Bhagwat Gita, Krishna, Duryodhana 1. Introduction Mahabharata has been an oft cited Indian epic for its grey portrayal of characters, their foibles and the unique codes of righteousness it preaches. The story came into existence as conceived by the medieval saint Tulsidas, and spread by word of mouth for centuries thereafter. The first and most noted English text on Mahabharata has been Mahabharata as written by C. Rajagopalachari which is the central focus of discourse here. A lot has been said about the anecdotes, preachings and characterisation of the folklore Mahabharata at various social platforms and literary articles. For those of the opinion that the original Mahabharata is just a story from the standpoint of Pandavas; there are various other texts like Rashmirathi and Mrityunjay (Mahabharata in Karn s perspective) and The Palace of Illusions (Draupadi s perspective of turnings) for reference and takes on less focussed ... The memoir Night, written by Elie Wiesel describes the brutality Wiesel experienced during the Holocaust, and how life changing it was. Although some may believe the memoir written by Elie Wiesel was titled Night because he was forced to leave his home during the night, Wiesel illustrates Jews losing hope, faith, and happiness through the symbol of Night, to prove that the memoir was titled Night to symbolize the darkness the holocaust created. Is this example, the darkness the night brings symbolises loss of hope, and becoming closer to death. Once Wiesel gave up trying, and claimed it was over, the light in his life got slightly dimmer, and he became closer to death. The next reason Night was the title of the memoir written by Wiesel was because the darkness in night symbolized death. Thousands of Jews were sentenced to death each day, leaving everybody a little more hurt and broken. The first example of death, that helps portray the title of Night, is in the quote, Was there a single place here where you were not in danger of death? (Wiesel 37). In this quote, Wiesel shows how dangerous and recurrent death was and bases the title off of these dangerous, mass killings. Darkness commonly symbolizes death, and the pain and suffering one feels being exposed to it. The symbol also helps show that the killings were not normal, they were darker like the night, more evil and inhumane than anything they had previously experienced. The title Night, symbolizes the darkness during this painful event, and the darkness universally symbolizes evil. So by using the title Night, Wiesel is able to indirectly explain how inhumane these mass killings really are. Another quote that shows the title is used to symbolize ... However, it is not a new form of leadership we have seen in politics. Paul Ryan is a Republican and the Republicans do currently have power in the Senate and House of Representatives. Clearly though, the Republican Party is divided and struggles to solve current issues in congress. Currently this is due to collective action issues such as, the need for information, time, and coordination currently in Republican Party. What Paul Ryan has done to solve these issues so far is, unify republicans, and at the same time solve collective action issues and other problems thus far by giving congressional committees the power to achieve these issues. The history of Congressional power from 1890 to present day has varied from strong individuals, to strong committees. From 1890 to about 1910 the speaker would heavily influence the House of Representatives. Speakers had the power to appoint the committees to chairs, and had control of legislative agenda s. But in 1910, a revolt had happened against Speaker Joe Cannon. Power shifted to the committees whose leaders were based on seniority. In the second graph, it was found that the trend is decreasing. As the number of carbon atoms is increased the melting point of the alkane decreased. Beginning at 1 carbon atom, the melting point was 182 degrees. As another carbon atom was added, this melting point decreased. • 27. Staphylococcus Aureus ( S. Aureus Introduction: Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a spherical bacteria which is known to produce a cytotoxin called Panton Valentine leucocidin (PLV) which destroys leukocytes, and kills tissue (Lina et al., 1999). Five percent of strains of Staphylococcus are known to produce the disease causing toxin (Lina et al., 1999), but though the amount of PLV producing strains is somewhat small, the strains which produce PLV are apparently resistant to vancomycin, an antibiotic commonly used to treat staph infections (CDC, 2002). The first recorded case of S. aureus resistance to vancomycin was a reduction in sensitivity to the antibiotic observed in Japan, and has since spread to the United States (CDC, 2002). The most common source of infection of these drug resistant bacteria are actually in hospitals, wherein the patients are exposed to the bacteria and subsequently infected (CDC, 2002). Because of this rise of selection for vancomycin resistant bacteria, finding an alternative antibiotic treatment for this strain of bacteria is imperative. There has been some consideration of alternatives to vancomycin treatment of bacteria as sensitivity toward the drug decreases. Though vancomycin is still the treatment standard for methicillin resistant bacteria, other compounds such as linezolid have proven to be more effective.
