The Role Of Gap Years Essay
The role of gap years to earn a higher education is a controversial idea. Many people feel it is
important to take on Europe s natural participation in the gap year after high school. For countless
years, Europeans have practiced gap years before college to help a graduate grow. Prince William of
Europe took his beneficial gap year, helping the idea to spread to America (Kelly para. 1) British
influences have been leading America to a stronger future, and taking a gap year after high school is
now being adopted by the States. Certain students participating in the gap year enhance their
emotional and physical states before entering college. Also, some believe that taking a gap year will
influence the student to reject a higher education. On the other hand, taking a gap year after high
school can be expensive, but the experiences you receive from it are priceless. Based on these
different perspectives, I most closely agree with the fact that taking a break from school before
jumping into a higher education can help a graduate grow and find themselves.
Many people believe taking a gap year after high school will discourage a higher education because
the student is not likely to go back to school after taking a break. Due to this thought, parents of new
graduates are not openly supportive of gap years. Cases of students who take a gap year and do not
pursue a higher education are the ones thrown into the spotlight. The wide concern of students giving

Lease Of Capital Lease Vs. Operating Leases
Leases
Capital Leases vs. Operating Leases The most significant difference between a capital lease and an
operating lease is how each is recognized in the financial statements. According to U.S. GAAP, a lease
is capitalized if it fulfills one of the following requirements: transfer of ownership, bargain purchase
option, lease term is 75% or more of economic life, or present value of minimum lease payments is
90% or more of fair value. All other lease agreements are classified as operating leases (Wahlen et al.,
2013, p.20 15). Operating leases present advantages to the leasee, as they are not required to be
recognized on the balance sheet, yet operating lease agreements must be disclosed in the notes to the
financial statements.

Leases vs. Purchase: Advantages and Disadvantages There are numerous advantages to leasing over
purchasing, the majority of which relate to cash flows, financing issues and financial reporting.
Specifically, leases have the potential to offer a lower interest over the long term and only lay claim on
the leased asset, not on all assets (Wahlen et al., 2013). Additionally, leases do not constrict cash flows
to the same extent as purchasing. For example the statement of cash flows demonstrates Amazon used
$2.4 billion and $121 million to repay capital lease and finance lease obligations respectively,
foregoing the drastically greater cash outflow if Amazon were to purchase these assets. Furthermore,
leasing provides an exit strategy if the location is not conducive to operations.
Statement of Changes in Financial Position
Memo: Cash Flow Concerns and Recommendations
TO: Jeffrey Bezos, CEO
FROM: Krystle Hernandez, Controller
DATE: September 25, 2016
SUBJECT: Recommendations
Upon reviewing Amazon s statement of cash flows, it appears net cash provided by operating
activities, $11.9 billion, only slightly outweighs net cash used in investing activities, $6.4 billion and
financing activities $3.7 billion by, $1.7 billion. When measured against the previous year, 2014 cash
inflows exceeded 2015 by $4.5 billion. The primary causes of the reduced inflows in 2015 can be
largely attributed to two causes.

Importance Of Minor Characters In Hamlet
Minor characters in stories usually don t play major roles in stories. However, two minor characters in
Hamlet are essential to the development of the story s plot and theme. The ghost, a minor character
who introduces the problem, and Horatio who also appears rarely, play an important role in not only
developing the story but also strengthening the theme of the story.
The ghost appears in only about two or three scenes but gives a revelation to Hamlet which shapes the
plot of the entire play. The ghost, who apparently is of Hamlet s father, is introduced in the beginning
of the story when he plays a role of foreshadowing the coming tragedy as the two guards who first
spot it believe that the ghost s appearance in the battle armor and of the ... Show more content on

However, as is the ghost, Horatio is crucial to the development of the play s plot and theme. Horatio
has a rather unique role in which he acts as a balancing force to the evils of murder, incest, and
betrayal in the play. Throughout the play, he remains loyal and a good friend and servant of Hamlet.
He does not exhibit any evil trait that most of the characters in the play have. This function of
countering the evilness of the other characters makes the story more diverse and interesting, and adds
realism. His sense of loyalty and honor was demonstrated when he tried to suicide to honor of Hamlet
s death in the end, only to be saved by Hamlet s command for him to be a messenger and tell the story
to the kingdom and others. By making Horatio one of the few characters to survive, the author in a
way glorified Horatio s sense of respect and honor and disapproved the evilness of the other characters
that died, most of whom were evil in some way. At the end, Horatio also has the important role of
bringing the story to a close. If the ghost had the role of initiating the story, Horatio certainly had the
role of ending it. Horatio is one of few characters who knows the revelation from the ghost, the
actions and motives of the characters, and he is the only character that survives the bloodbath in the
end. He is therefore the ideal character to carry the story forward because of his

Old Alejandr The Window Of The Picture Frame Inside The...
As far back as Alejandra Franco can remember, the frames hanging in the hallway of her family s
Coachella Valley home were always empty. The unfilled wall décor did not represent a home devoid
of memories or a showcase for an unorthodox interior decorating theme. Instead, they were an
intentional symbol of an unspoken expectation of the future for Alejandra and her three younger
siblings.
With only a grade school education, Ana and Marcelino Franco came to America penniless and told
their kids that their only job was to obtain an education because it is the key to your future.
In 2000, they put their mantra into action almost immediately by enrolling three year old Alejandra in
the Head Start Program administered by the Riverside County Office of Education within the
Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD). After two years of preschool, Alejandra received
a completion certificate that was immediately hung with pride in a picture frame inside the Franco
family home.
Jim Greene, a veteran educator who was the Director of Children and Family Services for CVUSD,
had suggested a tip to parents who wanted to establish education as a priority in their families that
they could visually and nonverbally reinforce the importance of education simply by hanging empty
picture frames in their homes to symbolize the expectation of forthcoming diplomas from junior high,
high school, and college. As each of their children would reach graduation milestones, the framed

Purpose To Go To Medical School
One of the reasons I want to go to medical school is for the opportunity to learn from bright,
experienced individuals who are passionate about medicine. For this reason, my first priority is to
attend a medical school whose faculty is committed to graduating top notch physicians who are
prepared to enter residency and practice medicine. I value clinical training opportunities and hands on
experience very highly, as I believe these will help me to develop the foundation I will need to be an
outstanding physician. My ideal school is also one that upgrades facilities and expands their program.
Technology is rapidly changing how medicine is being practiced, and, with all other factors being

Descartes s Theory Of Knowledge
Descartes theorized that in order to acquire knowledge, there essentially is some rational technique for
attaining it, and that the expenditure of the senses, or any other individual capability was not a
dependable basis. In his third meditation he says, I know that even bodies are not perceived by the
senses, or by the faculty of imagination, but by the intellect alone (69). As a rationalist Descartes
supposed that this withstood identically for everyone, that all people have rational learned concepts.
He assumed that knowledge of external things was a result of only the cognizance, and not the senses.
Descartes also anticipated that the entire universe was scientifically logical, and that everything could
be comprehended by deduction. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The terms self and substance in Hume s view could refer to something only if they are meaningful.
Such terms can be meaningful only if the ideas associated with them were derived from sensation.
Hume s theory of meaning therefore emphasizes the fact that the person exists not in terms of
substance, but rather in terms of ideas that are derived from the senses. Man experienced the world
through sensations generated by his physical existence. Hume s position is quite simply that persons
consist of mind and body, the distinction between experience and the world to which it refers. While
Descartes is truthful in his statement that the senses deceive us in some circumstances, his wide
ranging skepticism about the senses is not justified. In order to make his case, Descartes presented the
example of the stick appearing to be deformed by the water in which he has found that his senses had
in fact deceived him. To be vindicated in claiming that the senses deceive, a person would be required
to be capable of recognizing when an error of the senses has taken place. In other words, the person
would need to be able to differentiate amongst being erroneous and being accurate. For example, a
person would need to know that the sticks appearance was an optical illusion and therefore what is
seen is not what is actually there. However, in knowing this, a person is able to perceive the deception
and thus avoid the error in senses. Descartes, in arguing

The Positive Benefits Of Community Service
Community service is when you do volunteer work for free to benefit the people in need in your
community. Usually, students who choose to do community service do so as volunteers, because they
feel the need to help out their communities. Community service has many positive effects on students
such as giving them they need in life to be successful in the future such as, certain skills they can help
to improve the quality of life for others. There are plenty ways that you can do this, such as working in
a church group, joining your local food kitchen or you can create your own campaign project. When
you re working on campaigns and projects and getting to see results, you ll get to know how your
strengths can make a difference in this world.
The act of service is really beneficial towards society. Volunteering allows students to become more
involved in their communities. Sometimes students don t see how important volunteering are is the
country and to many small organizations in their own communities. This world would be a much
worse if no volunteers showed up to work. Volunteers are behind many things that we take for
granted. When major hurricanes hit the coast or when wildfires burn up, people who volunteer are
major factors in helping victims get out of trouble safe, fed, and back to how they lived before.
Without these people, many people in need would not be able to get food. Our parks and communities
would be much dirtier and our children wouldn t have the help of volunteer tutors and mentors.
According to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) there was 62.6 million
Americans volunteered 7.7 billion hours of work in 2013. The estimated value of this work is almost
$173 billion. This all includes raising money for important causes; collecting, preparing, and giving
out food to people who need it; providing labor and transportation; tutoring and mentoring youth; and
lending professional expertise. Volunteering also gives you professional benefits because volunteering
is a great way to find different interests that our out there in your community. High school students
can try different kinds of work environments that they wouldn t be exposed to at such a young age

What Does Peter Pan Mean
Peter Pan Literary Analysis Conceptualize having to live without a mother or a role model. This is
what life was like for the lost boys ever since they fell out of their baby carriages and were never
found again. In Peter Pan, by J.M. Barrie, Peter and the lost boys spent their lives in Neverland
without a mother or an adult role model. This is why they took Wendy Darling in as their mother. This
was a substantial point throughout the book which can be identified through the theme: loving mothers
are important for individuals to have. Obviously, people can have other role models in their lives to
thrive, but the term mother is seen specifically in Peter Pan. Loving mothers are important for an
individual to have was seen through the book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All throughout the book every person wanted to be loved by a mother, and had lived their lives with a
modicum amount of love. This was shown when Peter talks about how he believes his mother
betrayed him by shutting the window after he had run away because he didn t want to grow up. After
Peter arrives in Neverland, Peter wants Wendy in his life because she is the closest thing to a mother
that he has without having to grow up. When Peter saw Mrs. Darling he states, I m fond of her too. We
can t both have her, lady. Further explaining how Peter loved having Wendy as his mother. The pirates
also admitted that they wanted a mother to love and care for them. When Wendy is captured and tied
up by the pirates, the pirate Smee states, I ll save you if you promise to be my mother. The pirates
wanted to be loved by a mother even though they seemed tough and evil. This can also be seen when
Wendy, her brothers, and the lost boys decide to return home to the Darlings. Wendy and her brothers
miss their loving mother and decide to take the lost boys back with them, hoping that their mother still
loves them and the window will still be open. Mrs. Darling saturninity states, The window must
always be left open for them, always, always. Mrs. Darling s love for her children never ebbed. She
left the window, lingering open as long as possible to show that she cared for them in case they ever
flew back. Finally, when all the children were secured in their home Mr. and Mrs. Darling were
ecstatic, and were delighted to take in lost boys into their home. It says, They stood in a row in front
of Mrs. Darling, with their hats off, and wishing they were not wearing their pirate clothes. They said
nothing, but their eyes asked her to have them. ...of course Mrs. Darling said at once that she would

Taking a Look at Types of Disasters
According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (n.d), the
definition of disaster is known as: an unexpected, catastrophic event that extremely disturbs the
functioning of a community or society and causes human, material, and environmental losses that go
beyond the community s ability to handle using its own resources. In addition, the disaster could be
classified into two category which are the natural disaster and also human made disaster. First, a
natural disaster is known as the naturally occurring event or changes in natural phenomenon that has
disastrous impacts towards the society. The extent of loss vary to the vulnerability of the population,
and also the scope and intensity of the disaster. Examples for natural disasters are earthquake,
typhoon, volcanic eruptions, flood and so on. Conversely, human made disaster is known as the event
that often caused by the negligence or human error which lead to a disastrous impacts towards the
society. Example of human made disasters are technological hazards such as nuclear weapons,
transportation hazards like airplane crash, and so on. Ten years ago, there was a massive undersea
earthquake which known as the Sumatra Andaman earthquake that occurred at 26 December 2004.
The earthquake was classified as natural disaster that caused by the movement of tectonic plates under
the ocean which lead to a series of destructive tsunamis that hit and impacted 14 countries in total.

Maria Montessori Beliefs On Early Childhood Education
Maria Montessori was a philosopher that influenced early childhood education. Her beliefs and ideas
align with my personal beliefs on early childhood education. Maria Montessori was an Italian
physician, educator, and inventor. She used new educational methods that brought a new aspect and
perspective to early childhood learning. Her methods proved successful as she continued to developed
these ideas and became a well known and highly acclaimed philosopher. Maria Montessori believed
that the environment influences how children learn. The prepared environment she created was
colorful and implemented the five senses to facilitate learning. She believed each child should be
motivated to learn new things. She encouraged these ideas through new materials, classrooms, and
teaching procedures. The materials she created were didactic, meaning that they were self teaching.
Lastly, Maria Montessori believed that while teachers should be observers, they should also be
demonstrators and work with every child. Each child was encouraged to let their natural instincts take
the lead and explore, trying new things on their own rather than being forced. By observing the child s
instincts and behaviors the teacher can tell what the child needs and how to provide them with the
materials. I believe implementing the beliefs of Maria Montessori in my own future classroom will be
the best way for each child to learn.
In my Pre kindergarten classroom, I will use similar methods as Maria

Memory Is A Social Phenomenon
It is been seen that memory is now ubiquitous .All of Memory has been wholly observed by its
meticulous reconstitution.. When we examine a little closely to how we recollect things in our day to
day to life, we realize that the greatest number of memories come back to us when our parents, our
neighbours, our friends or the other persons recall them to us. Differences in discourse of memory
have been understood by the remnants of experience which is still lived in the warmth of tradition, in
the silence of custom, in the repetition of ancestral which have been displaced under the pressure of a
fundamentally historical sensibility.
Memory is a social phenomena. It has become the subject of controversies among observers and
analysts. The notion of memory when it is defined, can be either understood as internal or inward
memory and external memory, or personal memory or social memory(Halbwach 1950, 52). Narratives
about the past by nations and states are not something new. When we reflect upon them , we make
many discoveries ; we discover the shape and the why of the events. (ibid: 55). But the explosion of
the memorial phenomenon by largely, is increased from the utterance of specific groups, whether
intranational or transnational groups, and from the range of scales on which the narrative of past
experience is legitimately expressed. A social group s identity is constructed with narratives and
traditions that are created to give its members a sense of an community.

My Dream In My Life
My entire baseball career I had dreamed of playing for my high school, but now that dream was in
jeopardy. I had been playing baseball since I was eligible back in 1st grade. I was never a spectacular
talent, I didn t hit home runs, I wasn t an ace pitcher, and I wasn t particularly fit. I was just average,
and I knew that. So when it came to trying out for the high school baseball team, I almost decided not
to. I wasn t worthy of being on that team. I had expressed this opinion to my friends and family, and
they didn t approve. However, eventually, they wore me down and convinced me to at least try out.
Reluctantly, I obliged, and when the time came, I signed up for tryouts and prepared myself for what I
expected to be the greatest disappointment of my life.
It was a three day tryout. Three days of grueling work on both the fundamentals and technicalities of
the game. Three days of knowing that they were going to cut me. 40 other young men surrounded me,
and they all wanted the same thing I did. People who I had played with my whole life. People who I
knew to be great ball players. People I knew could outplay me in any aspect of the game. Dispite this,
I gave it my all. It was a dream of mine to play on this team.
I pushed myself to what seemed like a breaking point, and then pushed harder. I had never felt so
fatigued in my life. My thighs ached, my arm screamed in pain, and my thirst was everlasting. All this,
I thought, for what? There s no way they ll take me.

that the love and death of two young people will bring about the end of a long feud between their two

Marriage plays a major role in Romeo and Juliet from the beginning. In Act 1, Scene 2, Paris asks
Lord Capulet for his permission to marry Juliet. Lord Capulet tells him to wait because Juliet is still
too young and that Paris needs to woo Juliet because she would have some say in who she would
marry. This was extremely uncommon during the time period. During the Elizabethan Era, girls were
often married young, to men chosen by their fathers who they barely knew. Later in that same act, in
Scene 3, Lady Capulet asks Juliet if she could see herself marrying Paris, to which Juliet answers that
she had never really thought about marriage. If that thy bent of love be honorable, Thy purpose
marriage, send me word tomorrow, By one that I ll procure to come to thee, Where and what time thou
wilt perform the rite ... (2.2.143 146) During this scene of the play, Juliet tells Romeo that she will
send a messenger to him the next day and that, if he has a real intention of marrying her, he should tell
that messenger where and when they would be married. The next day, Romeo goes to Friar Laurence,
who, after giving a brief lecture about thinking things through, agrees to marry them. Juliet sends the
Nurse to speak with Romeo about the wedding later that day. Upon her return, the Nurse tells Juliet

Character Analysis of Sir Toby Belch in Shakespeare´s...
Comedy is by far the most influential factor in deciding whether or not a story is entertaining to its
audience, due to its ability to create a more relaxed and pleasurable environment in the plot. From the
playful awkwardness of Anne Shirley, to the witty banter of detectives Tommy and Tuppence, it is
evident that comedic characters have always been appreciated and acknowledged in literature. Sir
Toby Belch is but one of many amusing characters, and is by far one of the most humorous. While
Shakespeare s Twelfth Night is surrounded around an issue of romantic entanglement, Sir Toby s very
presence is enough to lighten the mood and accentuate the comedic theme of the story through his
creation of problems and unique personality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is one of the most amusing scenes in the play, followed by Belch s famous attempt at getting Sir
Andrew to accost Olivia s chamber maid; Maria which resulted in utter confusion. In addition, Sir
Toby also delivers several witty and comedic comments to divert the attention from a supposedly
serious love affair between Malvolio and Olivia to the events taking place behind the ever famous box
tree. Here s an overweening rouge (II v 27) and O for a stone bow to hit him in the eye! (II v 43) are
samples of the remarks made by Sir Toby while he observes Malvolio in hiding. Although all these
examples were mere results of a drunken night or craving for fun on Sir Toby s part, as an audience
they were received as cheerful moments in the play that amended their attention from the surrounding
melancholy. It also demonstrates his unique capability to amuse onlookers no matter how intense a
situation is, and trumps his unappealing and carefree attitude. Furthermore, another of the countless

Fear No Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are one of three macronutrients. They are an important energy source, specifically for
the brain and the spinal cord. Carbs tend to be given a bad image causing many people to avoid them.
Doing this can lead to possible health problems if you do not consume the accurate amount of
carbohydrates on a daily basis. There are many positive health benefits to making sure we consume
enough carbohydrates as well as negative effects if we do not consume enough good carbs each day.
Carbohydrates tend to be put into a negative light; there are many diets out there called no carb or low
carb but are these doing our bodies any good? When many hear the word carbs they tend to jump
straight to bread, pastas, and cookies. However, this is not true many fruits, vegetables, nuts, and
grains are carbohydrates as well. According to Fear no Carbs an article published in 2014 found that
participants of low carb diets had a 30% higher risk of death from all causes in the long run. On
average humans should be consuming 130 (g.) of carbohydrates a day in order to supply the brain with
glucose. That is 45 65% of you allotted calorie intake per day. When you digest carbs your body turns
them into glucose where your body then stores it for energy. Carbohydrates are the only nutrient that s

important for athletes. Due to the lifestyle they live; they have high performance expectations,
extreme workouts, and are also trying to reduce their risk of illness and

Low Cost Counseling Benefits
Many individuals and/or couples would like to go to counseling, but, in today s economy, it may not
be possible because of the expense. I will give you an idea of what to expect as far as costs go.
Free or Very Low Cost
Often times you can actually find free or low cost counseling at universities and/or churches, but there
may not be many choices.
Graduate school counseling programs You will need to get out your phonebook and/or look on the
internet for local universities. Call them, ask if they have a graduate counseling department, and ask if
they have graduate students who will counsel for free or for a reduced fee. These graduate counselors
are almost always supervised by a licensed counselor.
Churches Also, look up some area churches, call them, and ask if they have counseling. Sometimes
the church will only offer counseling to members, but many offer counseling to the community. Many
times you do not have to share their same beliefs and they often have excellent classes and/or
programs for relationship and individual improvement as well. Many churches do not charge anything,
but some may charge a small amount. These counselors are usually not licensed by the state, but some
churches do have licensed counselors. The church counselors may be certified in a particular type of
counseling and some are not.

There are many others and they are sometimes free. While this method of counseling can be helpful,
you might be smart to proceeded with caution and ask a lot of questions before paying. The fees for
online counseling can vary, but are usually around the following: One question by email could cost
about $30. You can sometimes buy packages which will make the individual email/question price
come down. Expect $40 $100+ for a 1 hour phone session or an online chat

ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE MANAGEMENT THE NEW IMPERATIVE
ABSTRACT
Change management is a systematic approach to dealing with change, both from the perspective of an
organization and on the individual level. A somewhat ambiguous term, change management has at
least three different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This research paper is intended for everyone expected to lead, manage and implement change. It
covers every aspect of managing change, including essential principles, managing stakeholders,
dealing with resisters, building effective change teams and more.
Introduction
Significant organizational change occurs, for example, when an organization changes its overall
strategy for success, adds or removes a major section or practice, and/or wants to change the very
nature by which it operates. It also occurs when an organization evolves through various life cycles,
just like people must successfully evolve through life cycles. For organizations to develop, they often
must undergo significant change at various points in their development. That s why the topic of
organizational change and development has become widespread in communications about business,
organizations, leadership and management.
Leaders and managers continually make efforts to accomplish successful and significant change it s
inherent in their jobs. Some are very good at this effort (probably more than we realize), while others
continually struggle and fail. That s often the difference between people who thrive in their roles and
those that get shuttled around from job to job, ultimately settling into a role where they re frustrated
and ineffective.
There are many schools with educational programs about organizations, business, leadership and
management. Unfortunately, there still are not

Realists Vs. Scientific Theory
.Convergent realists often argue for their position by pointing to the increasing success of science.
This requires that there be a reasonable inference from a scientific theory s success to its approximate
truth. The argument that realists are trying to make is that the best explanation of a scientific theory s
success is that it is true. Larry Laudan refutes the realists argument from the success of science. To do
this, he characterize his opposition as Convergent Epistemological Realism. Convergent realism is a
theory about the nature and history of science.
Laudan identifies five central claims for convergent epistemological realism.
R1) Scientific theories (at least in the mature sciences) are typically approximately true ... Show more

The empirical success of science (in the sense of giving detailed explanations and accurate
predictions) accordingly provides striking empirical confirmation for realism.
According to Laudan, convergent epistemological realism involves two abductive arguments by
realists.
Argument 1: Inference to the best explanation from R1, R2, and R5.
P1: If scientific theories are approximately true, they will typically be empirically successful;
P2: If the central terms in scientific theories genuinely refer, those theories will generally be
empirically successful.
P3: Scientific theories are empirically successful.
C: (Probably) Theories are approximately true and their terms genuinely refer.
Argument 2: Inference to the best explanation from R3 and R5.
P1: If the earlier theories in a mature science are approximately true and if the central terms of those
theories genuinely refer, then later more successful theories in the same science will preserve the
earlier theories as limiting cases;
P2: Scientists seek to preserve earlier theories as limiting cases and generally succeed.
C: (Probably) Earlier theories in a mature science are approximately true and genuinely referential.
For his refutation of argument 1, Laudan (addressing Putnam) states that the realist seemingly requires
claims S1 S4.

For each resistor/capacitor pair, times required to achieve 63.2 percent of maximum voltage change
and 86.5 percent of maximum voltage change were recorded. For the third method, the oscilloscope
was next set to produce a 300mV sine wave. The oscilloscope was initially set to produce a very low
frequency and amplitude was recorded. Frequency was increased slowly and amplitude was recorded
at each interval. Output amplitude was plotted vs frequency. 휏 was calculated using the amplitude
and frequency results and equation 3. 휏=½*흅*fc (3)
For methods 4 and 5, LabVIEW software was used to record full charge or discharge cycles. The data
recorded was then normalized using equation 4. The natural log of the normalized data results was
plotted against t. For method 4, the linear portion of the result of the plot was 1/휏. For method 5, the
normalized data was used without a logarithmic function, plotted against time. An exponential line of
best fit was created resulting an equation equal to e t/휏. Vnormalized = (4)
For session 2 a low pass filter was set up using the wiring diagram described in the apparatus section

Effect of pH
The pH of the media is considered to be one of the most important environmental factors affecting the
biosorption process. Moreover, it affects the solubility of metals and ionization state of functional
groups which includes carboxyl, phosphate and amino groups of cell wall (Wang and Sun 2013). The
effect of pH on the biosorption of aluminium is presented in Fig. 2a. Results show that the amount of
aluminium ion uptake increased (10 92 mg/L) by rise in pH values (2.0 6.0) and the maximum
removal efficiency was observed at pH 6. At low pH (less than 4.0) heavy metal removal was
inhibited, as a result of positive charge density on metal binding due to a high concentration of protons
in solution. With an increase in pH, the negative charge density on the cell surface increases due to
deprotonation of the metal binding sites and thus increases biosorption (Say et al. 2001). At alkaline
pH, more Al appears in a

Criticism Of The Dead By Margot Norris
Margot Norris criticism is about the silencing of women, I used this one because it helps with that
point of view I want to back up in my own essay as well. Norris argues that the silencing of women in
The Dead proves to make the feminist criticism stronger. She describes in depth the characters that are
silenced and the ways that they are silenced and her view of on the feminist end of things. She
supports that these women are silenced and makes a strong argument about it. But, overall, she says
we read the novel as we choose to. Some readers may see it as different and some may not. I used two
other dissertations as sources because I wanted to get someone from the educational point of view, a
criticism of someone that is similar to mine and talking about this subject as well. I spared them
equally and only used parts of them so far in this particular prospectus, but I chose Badcock s essay
because she explains how women were treated in Joyce s lifetime. How the background of what I m
trying to convey is important. How Joyce saw women and how that was bled into Gabriel s character.
Beckham has the view of masculinity and how Gabriel s ego is constantly being deflated. The
argument that can be made is, he attempts to use these female characters to boost that ego, yet it doesn
t work that way. The criticism is essentially for Gabriel s ever changing masculinity, but it can be used
as an opposing or for point of view, as well. I want to focus on the masculinity factor and

the minimum amount of paper clips the electromagnet collected was two clips. The maximum amount

mode was not applicable as no mode was observed. Between the control group data and the
experimental group data, there were some patterns. For instance, before both second trials, the wire
around the nail(s) had to be rewrapped and the battery was changed. A difference was observed
between two pieces of qualitative data. The control group nail took a long time to become magnetized,

This hypothesis was proven over the course of 6 trials. In the first trial, the experimental
electromagnet collected one more paperclip than the control group magnet. In the second trial, six less
paperclips were picked up. Then, in the third trial, six paperclips were picked up by the experimental
magnet, opposed to the five clips collected by the control group electromagnet. Three more
experiments were then conducted after the first three, with the total numbers of paperclips amounting
11, 20, and 18 (in that order). If this experiment were to be conducted again, the number of batteries
could be increased instead. Also, the number of wire coils on the nail could be increased or decreased.

Natural Killer T Cells ( Nkt )
Introduction Natural killer T cells (NKT), not to be confused with Natural Killer cells or killer T cells
(CTL), are a heterogeneous subset of T cells recognized by their unique innate and adaptive molecular
characteristics and markers. Perhaps the most defining characteristic of natural killer T cell is the
ability to recognize lipid antigens in the context of CD1d molecules, associated to β2 microglobulin
(Laurent, Renault, Farce, Chavatte, Hénon, 2014). CD1d molecules are predominantly expressed by
Antigen Presenting cells, particularly Marginal Zone B cells (MZB). NKT cells have been divided into
two main subsets: type I NKT cells that use a canonical invariant TCR α chain and recognize α
galactosylceramide (α GalCer), a powerful antitumor stimulant, and type II NKT cells that use a more
diverse αβ TCR repertoire and do not recognize α GalCer (Macho Fernandez Brigl, 2015. Notably, α
GalCer activated Type I NKT cells are capable of substantial crosstalk with other cell types of the
innate and adaptive immune systems (Matsuda et al. 2008; Parekh et al. 2007). However, Type II NKT
cells display more of a heterogeneous TCR and lack Vα14 Jα18 rearrangement, thus the reason for
their inability to recognize α GalCer. Conversely, type II NKT cells recognize a naturally occurring
self glycolipid and sulfatide, which is enriched in several membranes, including myelin in the central
nervous system (CNS), β cells in the pancreas, kidney, and liver (Marrero, Ware, Kumar,

The Use Of Nonverbal Mimicry For A Therapist
The use of nonverbal mimicry will help establish rapport in fact it will increase the amount of
information provided by the client (Abbe Brandon, 2013). There is neurological proof that the brain
will elicit a automatic response if someone is deemed trustworthy changing an individuals feelings,
this is influenced by the way people look and act (Adolphs, 2002). Another factor that influences
rapport for a therapist is knowing the roles of eclecticism and pluralism, a therapist needs to know
which viewpoint is going to be best for a client, Therapist have been using a more eclectic and
integrative approach to therapy as a whole for year. Ggenerally this is a empathic method and empathy
is seen as a important factor in a therapeutic alliance, as proven by neuroscience. empathy helps
expand a patients feelings, thoughts, sensations and possible actions, this is a client and person centred
approach to rapport (Decety Ickes, 2011). However, with a pluralistic approach there are lots of
different ways of doing things, as well as asking the patient what they think. In the end therapist and
patient work together to ascertain what is the best approach in the therapy session, so uses a almost
infinite diversity of approaches to therapy, (Kihlstrom, 2003), this in theory would only increase
rapport. But only potentially work if you had good rapport in the first place. A pluralistic approach
appears to have a huge range in diversity of therapies, therefore; surely it would require

Satipose And Political Purpose In Animal Farm By George...
Orwell was beyond successful in writing Animal Farm and fusing political purpose and artistic
purpose into one whole. George Orwell is a well known English author known for his literary
criticism against politics while shaping his critics into art. He is well known for his books Animal
Farm and 1984 that are still talked about to this day. Orwell has stated, I write it because there is some
lie I want to expose, some fact to which I want to draw attention, and my initial concern is to get a
hearing. This has been stated in his piece Why I write. He is still relevant today because his literature
still has significance and can be applied to historical events that have happened and that are still
continuing to this day. Ultimately, Orwell has done a marvelous job at stating his beliefs on political
controversies while providing a fascinating story on the surface to disguise his opinions.
George Orwell s essay Why I write is about him explaining why he started to write and what his

Modern Architecture Essays
ESSAY 1
Le Corbusier and Mies van de Rohe were two architects influenced by the contemporary movements
of their time period. Le Corbusier s architectural ideology was derived from the multiple techniques
and styles he had previously encountered through study. His early designs were expressive of the
youth style which was introduced to him by his instructor, L Eplattenier. New technologies, however,
began to influence his philosophies. Le Corbusier saw potential in concrete building systems and
desired to experiment with its structural abilities through his designs. The modern industry, as well as
the political disorder which came about following the First World War, motivated his innovative

Style, he described, was defined by the time period in which architects practiced like building
techniques and philosophies. Michael Speaks would have attributed the lack of new in the architecture
of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier s era to cohesion to general manifestoes produce outside their
time period. Architects from later time periods cannot pursue the same manifesto because
technological advances in design must be considered. His arguments reveal that following a general
manifesto from start to finish will produce an unchanging architecture. Michael Speaks wrote, I do not
believe we need another manifesto in architecture, even of the incomplete, aborted or personal variety.
Architecture, it seems has suffered enough from the illusion that manifestoes matter (except insofar as
they stifle creativity) and it is time we found other ways of developing experimental practices ...
Vanguards, with their five points, seven principles and ten theses for a new architecture, draw a line
that leads straight from the manifesto to the new. And because the completion of this line is best that
can be hoped for, there is nothing new about the new. If architects followed the same lines to solve the
same problems, a new architecture could not be actualized. A separation from the lines between
manifesto and solution made way for discovery of design and methods of creating new architecture.

The movement of people around the world has a long history, with many migrations having been

were to be no more convicts to be sent there, therefore England were forced to send the convicts to
Australia. The English benefited by the reduced prison population. The circumstances of the convicts
weren t that as they were fed decently and had satisfactory sleeping quarters. There meals consisted of
Salted Pork, Beef. Mutton, Damper and fresh meat, they were fed 3 times a day. If a convict disobeyed
an order they were heavily punished. They were given floggings if they didn t respect the marines on

Analyse the vision of Empire held by Wilberforce and the Clapham Sect.
During Wilberforce s lifetime the British Empire expanded and proceed to be the dominant force in
the world as an economic, military and political power. At its height it was the largest empire in
history and for over a century was the world s foremost power. A power such as this had a
considerable bearing on the people which habituated and worked to serve the power behind it as both
MPs and people of significant social standing amongst its population as the elite. Therefore this essay
will evaluate the vision of the Empire held Wilberforce and his contemporaries in the Clapham Sect.
The Clapham Sect was a group of Evangelical Christians who resided near Clapham and formed a
strong community amongst one another. The group was ardently committed to Practical Christianity
and abolishing slavery. This is summarised succinctly by Together, this Clapham fellowship sought to
make the British Empire an instrument of social and moral welfare to all people. This commonly held
view shows that the Clapham Sect knew the magnitude and the significance the British Empire held
and could use this as a platform to project their christian ideals onto people who in their eyes were
worse off for not conforming to these ideals. The Empire was seen as something that could enlighten
through Christianity, however it brought violence through Slavery, the biggest demon in the eyes of
the Clapham Sect therefore it is of

  • 2. The Role Of Gap Years Essay The role of gap years to earn a higher education is a controversial idea. Many people feel it is important to take on Europe s natural participation in the gap year after high school. For countless years, Europeans have practiced gap years before college to help a graduate grow. Prince William of Europe took his beneficial gap year, helping the idea to spread to America (Kelly para. 1) British influences have been leading America to a stronger future, and taking a gap year after high school is now being adopted by the States. Certain students participating in the gap year enhance their emotional and physical states before entering college. Also, some believe that taking a gap year will influence the student to reject a higher education. On the other hand, taking a gap year after high school can be expensive, but the experiences you receive from it are priceless. Based on these different perspectives, I most closely agree with the fact that taking a break from school before jumping into a higher education can help a graduate grow and find themselves. Many people believe taking a gap year after high school will discourage a higher education because the student is not likely to go back to school after taking a break. Due to this thought, parents of new graduates are not openly supportive of gap years. Cases of students who take a gap year and do not pursue a higher education are the ones thrown into the spotlight. The wide concern of students giving up their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Lease Of Capital Lease Vs. Operating Leases Leases Capital Leases vs. Operating Leases The most significant difference between a capital lease and an operating lease is how each is recognized in the financial statements. According to U.S. GAAP, a lease is capitalized if it fulfills one of the following requirements: transfer of ownership, bargain purchase option, lease term is 75% or more of economic life, or present value of minimum lease payments is 90% or more of fair value. All other lease agreements are classified as operating leases (Wahlen et al., 2013, p.20 15). Operating leases present advantages to the leasee, as they are not required to be recognized on the balance sheet, yet operating lease agreements must be disclosed in the notes to the financial statements. Amazon s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Leases vs. Purchase: Advantages and Disadvantages There are numerous advantages to leasing over purchasing, the majority of which relate to cash flows, financing issues and financial reporting. Specifically, leases have the potential to offer a lower interest over the long term and only lay claim on the leased asset, not on all assets (Wahlen et al., 2013). Additionally, leases do not constrict cash flows to the same extent as purchasing. For example the statement of cash flows demonstrates Amazon used $2.4 billion and $121 million to repay capital lease and finance lease obligations respectively, foregoing the drastically greater cash outflow if Amazon were to purchase these assets. Furthermore, leasing provides an exit strategy if the location is not conducive to operations. Statement of Changes in Financial Position Memo: Cash Flow Concerns and Recommendations TO: Jeffrey Bezos, CEO FROM: Krystle Hernandez, Controller DATE: September 25, 2016 SUBJECT: Recommendations Upon reviewing Amazon s statement of cash flows, it appears net cash provided by operating activities, $11.9 billion, only slightly outweighs net cash used in investing activities, $6.4 billion and financing activities $3.7 billion by, $1.7 billion. When measured against the previous year, 2014 cash inflows exceeded 2015 by $4.5 billion. The primary causes of the reduced inflows in 2015 can be largely attributed to two causes. ... • 4. Importance Of Minor Characters In Hamlet Minor characters in stories usually don t play major roles in stories. However, two minor characters in Hamlet are essential to the development of the story s plot and theme. The ghost, a minor character who introduces the problem, and Horatio who also appears rarely, play an important role in not only developing the story but also strengthening the theme of the story. The ghost appears in only about two or three scenes but gives a revelation to Hamlet which shapes the plot of the entire play. The ghost, who apparently is of Hamlet s father, is introduced in the beginning of the story when he plays a role of foreshadowing the coming tragedy as the two guards who first spot it believe that the ghost s appearance in the battle armor and of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, as is the ghost, Horatio is crucial to the development of the play s plot and theme. Horatio has a rather unique role in which he acts as a balancing force to the evils of murder, incest, and betrayal in the play. Throughout the play, he remains loyal and a good friend and servant of Hamlet. He does not exhibit any evil trait that most of the characters in the play have. This function of countering the evilness of the other characters makes the story more diverse and interesting, and adds realism. His sense of loyalty and honor was demonstrated when he tried to suicide to honor of Hamlet s death in the end, only to be saved by Hamlet s command for him to be a messenger and tell the story to the kingdom and others. By making Horatio one of the few characters to survive, the author in a way glorified Horatio s sense of respect and honor and disapproved the evilness of the other characters that died, most of whom were evil in some way. At the end, Horatio also has the important role of bringing the story to a close. If the ghost had the role of initiating the story, Horatio certainly had the role of ending it. Horatio is one of few characters who knows the revelation from the ghost, the actions and motives of the characters, and he is the only character that survives the bloodbath in the end. He is therefore the ideal character to carry the story forward because of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Old Alejandr The Window Of The Picture Frame Inside The... As far back as Alejandra Franco can remember, the frames hanging in the hallway of her family s Coachella Valley home were always empty. The unfilled wall décor did not represent a home devoid of memories or a showcase for an unorthodox interior decorating theme. Instead, they were an intentional symbol of an unspoken expectation of the future for Alejandra and her three younger siblings. With only a grade school education, Ana and Marcelino Franco came to America penniless and told their kids that their only job was to obtain an education because it is the key to your future. In 2000, they put their mantra into action almost immediately by enrolling three year old Alejandra in the Head Start Program administered by the Riverside County Office of Education within the Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD). After two years of preschool, Alejandra received a completion certificate that was immediately hung with pride in a picture frame inside the Franco family home. Jim Greene, a veteran educator who was the Director of Children and Family Services for CVUSD, had suggested a tip to parents who wanted to establish education as a priority in their families that they could visually and nonverbally reinforce the importance of education simply by hanging empty picture frames in their homes to symbolize the expectation of forthcoming diplomas from junior high, high school, and college. As each of their children would reach graduation milestones, the framed diplomas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Descartes s Theory Of Knowledge Descartes theorized that in order to acquire knowledge, there essentially is some rational technique for attaining it, and that the expenditure of the senses, or any other individual capability was not a dependable basis. In his third meditation he says, I know that even bodies are not perceived by the senses, or by the faculty of imagination, but by the intellect alone (69). As a rationalist Descartes supposed that this withstood identically for everyone, that all people have rational learned concepts. He assumed that knowledge of external things was a result of only the cognizance, and not the senses. Descartes also anticipated that the entire universe was scientifically logical, and that everything could be comprehended by deduction. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The terms self and substance in Hume s view could refer to something only if they are meaningful. Such terms can be meaningful only if the ideas associated with them were derived from sensation. Hume s theory of meaning therefore emphasizes the fact that the person exists not in terms of substance, but rather in terms of ideas that are derived from the senses. Man experienced the world through sensations generated by his physical existence. Hume s position is quite simply that persons consist of mind and body, the distinction between experience and the world to which it refers. While Descartes is truthful in his statement that the senses deceive us in some circumstances, his wide ranging skepticism about the senses is not justified. In order to make his case, Descartes presented the example of the stick appearing to be deformed by the water in which he has found that his senses had in fact deceived him. To be vindicated in claiming that the senses deceive, a person would be required to be capable of recognizing when an error of the senses has taken place. In other words, the person would need to be able to differentiate amongst being erroneous and being accurate. For example, a person would need to know that the sticks appearance was an optical illusion and therefore what is seen is not what is actually there. However, in knowing this, a person is able to perceive the deception and thus avoid the error in senses. Descartes, in arguing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her beliefs and ideas align with my personal beliefs on early childhood education. Maria Montessori was an Italian physician, educator, and inventor. She used new educational methods that brought a new aspect and perspective to early childhood learning. Her methods proved successful as she continued to developed these ideas and became a well known and highly acclaimed philosopher. Maria Montessori believed that the environment influences how children learn. The prepared environment she created was colorful and implemented the five senses to facilitate learning. She believed each child should be motivated to learn new things. She encouraged these ideas through new materials, classrooms, and teaching procedures. The materials she created were didactic, meaning that they were self teaching. Lastly, Maria Montessori believed that while teachers should be observers, they should also be demonstrators and work with every child. Each child was encouraged to let their natural instincts take the lead and explore, trying new things on their own rather than being forced. By observing the child s instincts and behaviors the teacher can tell what the child needs and how to provide them with the materials. I believe implementing the beliefs of Maria Montessori in my own future classroom will be the best way for each child to learn. When we examine a little closely to how we recollect things in our day to day to life, we realize that the greatest number of memories come back to us when our parents, our neighbours, our friends or the other persons recall them to us. Differences in discourse of memory have been understood by the remnants of experience which is still lived in the warmth of tradition, in the silence of custom, in the repetition of ancestral which have been displaced under the pressure of a fundamentally historical sensibility. Memory is a social phenomena. It has become the subject of controversies among observers and analysts. The notion of memory when it is defined, can be either understood as internal or inward memory and external memory, or personal memory or social memory(Halbwach 1950, 52). Narratives about the past by nations and states are not something new. When we reflect upon them , we make many discoveries ; we discover the shape and the why of the events. (ibid: 55). Comedy is by far the most influential factor in deciding whether or not a story is entertaining to its audience, due to its ability to create a more relaxed and pleasurable environment in the plot. Sir Toby Belch is but one of many amusing characters, and is by far one of the most humorous. Here s an overweening rouge (II v 27) and O for a stone bow to hit him in the eye! (II v 43) are samples of the remarks made by Sir Toby while he observes Malvolio in hiding. Although all these examples were mere results of a drunken night or craving for fun on Sir Toby s part, as an audience they were received as cheerful moments in the play that amended their attention from the surrounding melancholy. It also demonstrates his unique capability to amuse onlookers no matter how intense a situation is, and trumps his unappealing and carefree attitude. Furthermore, another of the countless reasons why Sir Toby Belch is the most enjoyable character in Twelfth Night is pertaining to his whimsical and absurd personality that is like none other s in the play. The argument that realists are trying to make is that the best explanation of a scientific theory s success is that it is true. Larry Laudan refutes the realists argument from the success of science. To do this, he characterize his opposition as Convergent Epistemological Realism. Convergent realism is a theory about the nature and history of science. Laudan identifies five central claims for convergent epistemological realism. R1) Scientific theories (at least in the mature sciences) are typically approximately true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The empirical success of science (in the sense of giving detailed explanations and accurate predictions) accordingly provides striking empirical confirmation for realism. According to Laudan, convergent epistemological realism involves two abductive arguments by realists. Argument 1: Inference to the best explanation from R1, R2, and R5. P1: If scientific theories are approximately true, they will typically be empirically successful; P2: If the central terms in scientific theories genuinely refer, those theories will generally be empirically successful. P3: Scientific theories are empirically successful. C: (Probably) Theories are approximately true and their terms genuinely refer. Argument 2: Inference to the best explanation from R3 and R5. P1: If the earlier theories in a mature science are approximately true and if the central terms of those theories genuinely refer, then later more successful theories in the same science will preserve the earlier theories as limiting cases; P2: Scientists seek to preserve earlier theories as limiting cases and generally succeed. C: (Probably) Earlier theories in a mature science are approximately true and genuinely referential. For his refutation of argument 1, Laudan (addressing Putnam) states that the realist seemingly requires claims S1 S4. S1) The theories in the advanced or mature sciences are successful;

Aluminum Contamination Due to Firework Industry Soil sample analysis The amount of aluminium present in the explosive (firework industry) contaminated soil sample was estimated as 3.649 mg/L using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Aluminium resistance and species identification The strain isolated from the firework industry was able to survive metal concentration as high as 100 mg/L aluminium in LB agar. Based on the 16S rRNA gene sequencing, it was identified as Bacillus safensis and submitted in Genbank database with accession number KC569464 (Fig. 1). Batch biosorption studies Effect of pH The pH of the media is considered to be one of the most important environmental factors affecting the biosorption process. Moreover, it affects the solubility of metals and ionization state of functional groups which includes carboxyl, phosphate and amino groups of cell wall (Wang and Sun 2013). The effect of pH on the biosorption of aluminium is presented in Fig. 2a. Results show that the amount of aluminium ion uptake increased (10 92 mg/L) by rise in pH values (2.0 6.0) and the maximum removal efficiency was observed at pH 6. At low pH (less than 4.0) heavy metal removal was inhibited, as a result of positive charge density on metal binding due to a high concentration of protons in solution. With an increase in pH, the negative charge density on the cell surface increases due to deprotonation of the metal binding sites and thus increases biosorption (Say et al. 2001). At alkaline pH, more Al appears in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Criticism Of The Dead By Margot Norris Margot Norris criticism is about the silencing of women, I used this one because it helps with that point of view I want to back up in my own essay as well. Norris argues that the silencing of women in The Dead proves to make the feminist criticism stronger. She describes in depth the characters that are silenced and the ways that they are silenced and her view of on the feminist end of things. She supports that these women are silenced and makes a strong argument about it. But, overall, she says we read the novel as we choose to. Some readers may see it as different and some may not. I used two other dissertations as sources because I wanted to get someone from the educational point of view, a criticism of someone that is similar to mine and talking about this subject as well. I spared them equally and only used parts of them so far in this particular prospectus, but I chose Badcock s essay because she explains how women were treated in Joyce s lifetime. How the background of what I m trying to convey is important. How Joyce saw women and how that was bled into Gabriel s character. Beckham has the view of masculinity and how Gabriel s ego is constantly being deflated. The argument that can be made is, he attempts to use these female characters to boost that ego, yet it doesn t work that way. The criticism is essentially for Gabriel s ever changing masculinity, but it can be used as an opposing or for point of view, as well. I want to focus on the masculinity factor and ... Between the control group data and the experimental group data, there were some patterns. For instance, before both second trials, the wire around the nail(s) had to be rewrapped and the battery was changed. A difference was observed between two pieces of qualitative data. • 35. Natural Killer T Cells ( Nkt ) Introduction Natural killer T cells (NKT), not to be confused with Natural Killer cells or killer T cells (CTL), are a heterogeneous subset of T cells recognized by their unique innate and adaptive molecular characteristics and markers. Perhaps the most defining characteristic of natural killer T cell is the ability to recognize lipid antigens in the context of CD1d molecules, associated to β2 microglobulin (Laurent, Renault, Farce, Chavatte, Hénon, 2014). CD1d molecules are predominantly expressed by Antigen Presenting cells, particularly Marginal Zone B cells (MZB). NKT cells have been divided into two main subsets: type I NKT cells that use a canonical invariant TCR α chain and recognize α galactosylceramide (α GalCer), a powerful antitumor stimulant, and type II NKT cells that use a more diverse αβ TCR repertoire and do not recognize α GalCer (Macho Fernandez Brigl, 2015. Notably, α GalCer activated Type I NKT cells are capable of substantial crosstalk with other cell types of the innate and adaptive immune systems (Matsuda et al. 2008; Parekh et al. 2007). However, Type II NKT cells display more of a heterogeneous TCR and lack Vα14 Jα18 rearrangement, thus the reason for their inability to recognize α GalCer. Conversely, type II NKT cells recognize a naturally occurring self glycolipid and sulfatide, which is enriched in several membranes, including myelin in the central nervous system (CNS), β cells in the pancreas, kidney, and liver (Marrero, Ware, Kumar, ... The Use Of Nonverbal Mimicry For A Therapist The use of nonverbal mimicry will help establish rapport in fact it will increase the amount of information provided by the client (Abbe Brandon, 2013). There is neurological proof that the brain will elicit a automatic response if someone is deemed trustworthy changing an individuals feelings, this is influenced by the way people look and act (Adolphs, 2002). Another factor that influences rapport for a therapist is knowing the roles of eclecticism and pluralism, a therapist needs to know which viewpoint is going to be best for a client, Therapist have been using a more eclectic and integrative approach to therapy as a whole for year. Ggenerally this is a empathic method and empathy is seen as a important factor in a therapeutic alliance, as proven by neuroscience. empathy helps expand a patients feelings, thoughts, sensations and possible actions, this is a client and person centred approach to rapport (Decety Ickes, 2011). However, with a pluralistic approach there are lots of different ways of doing things, as well as asking the patient what they think. In the end therapist and patient work together to ascertain what is the best approach in the therapy session, so uses a almost infinite diversity of approaches to therapy, (Kihlstrom, 2003), this in theory would only increase rapport. But only potentially work if you had good rapport in the first place. A pluralistic approach appears to have a huge range in diversity of therapies, therefore; surely it would require ...
