Neolithic Revolution Essay
Writing an essay on the Neolithic Revolution is no easy task, as it requires a comprehensive
understanding of the topic and the ability to convey that knowledge effectively. The Neolithic
Revolution marks a crucial turning point in human history, encompassing the transition from
nomadic hunting and gathering to settled agriculture. This transformation brought about
profound changes in social, economic, and cultural aspects of human societies.
To craft a compelling Neolithic Revolution essay, one must delve into the complexities of this
period, exploring the reasons behind the shift to agriculture, the impact on human communities,
the development of new technologies, and the consequences for the environment. It also
involves analyzing the challenges and benefits associated with this transition, considering both
short-term and long-term effects on human civilizations.
Research plays a pivotal role in constructing a well-informed essay. Gathering reliable sources,
academic articles, and historical records is time-consuming but essential for building a strong
argument and providing credible evidence to support your claims. Moreover, the essay should be
structured logically, with a clear introduction, well-developed body paragraphs, and a concise
conclusion that summarizes the key points.
Expressing ideas coherently and articulating a nuanced understanding of the Neolithic
Revolution is another layer of difficulty. Striking the right balance between depth of analysis and
clarity of expression is a challenge that requires careful consideration of language, tone, and the
overall flow of the essay.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the Neolithic Revolution demands a combination of historical
knowledge, critical thinking skills, and effective communication. It is a task that necessitates
thorough research, thoughtful analysis, and skillful writing. For those facing difficulties, seeking
assistance from professional writing services like HelpWriting.net could be a viable option,
offering support in tackling complex topics and delivering high-quality essays.

The Mona Lis The Identity Of The Individual Essay
The Mona Lisa remains as probably the most famous and most valuable piece of
artwork of all times. It is widely viewed as one of the finest illustration of portrait
work done during the Italian Renaissance. The Mona Lisa was one of the first pieces
of art that I remember looking at in my elementary art class. Leonardo Da Vinci, a
famous Italian artist, created the piece. It is currently held at a museum in Paris,
France. It is believed Leonardo worked on the oil painting during the early 1500 s.
The identity of the individual featured in the portrait has, over the years, sparked
debate all over the world; some even claim it is Leonardo Da Vinci himself. The
identity of the individual, however, is believed to be Lisa del Giocondo. There has
also been debate surrounding the message passed in the painting as it is somewhat
difficult to read the expression on Lisa s face. The Mona Lisadepicts the image of a
female subject sitting upright and tilted sideways. The face and the chest of the
subject are slightly turned to face the viewer. The individual s right arm comes
across the body and rest on top of her left arm. The left arm is resting on the armrest
of the chair she is sitting in. The portrait has a background with a landscape depicting
a vanishing point. The landscape has an imbalance between a rocky horizon that is
high and a flat land stretching all the way from the left. The imbalance in the
background landscape clearly brings out the fantastic atmosphere of the
Benefit Of Moderate Drinking
Benefits of Moderate Drinking Drinking alcohol can be good for your health and
studies have shown that boozing on occasion has some perks which includes
reduced stress, decresed risk of heart attacks, and lower chances of diabetes. Social
drinking is used by many people globally. Kloner et al.(2007) from the School of
Public Health at Harvard University found that moderate amounts of alcoholraises
levels of high density lipoprotein, and higher HDL levels are associated with greater
protection against heart disease. Moderate alcohol consumption has also been linked
with beneficial changes ranging from better sensitivity to insulin to improvements in
factors that influence blood clotting. Such changes would tend to prevent the
formation of small blood clots that can block arteries in the heart, neck, and brain, the
ultimate cause of many heart attacks and the most common kind of stroke. This
finding is applicable to both men and women. HDL cholesterolis the well behaved
good cholesterol . It removes harmful bad cholesterol from where it doesn t belong.
Drinking in moderate amounts can lead to certain psychological benefits, as
research show. Low levels of alcohol can reduce stress, anxiety and help reduce
tension. Studies show that low levels of comsupmtion get more sleep on average
than those who sleeps in excess. In addition, consumption can also cause the
comsumer to feel more relaxed. These psychological effects of moderate drinking are
positive ones that can be

The Importance Of Interracial Marriage
The ways America shows their attitudes toward interracial marriage and illustrate an
awkward historical moment and the changing nature of race relations in the United
States is by the disconnection between Americans attitudes toward interracial
marriage and their behavior illustrates the awkward historical moment that we
currently inhabit. On the one hand, in the four decades since the U.S. Supreme Court
declared laws prohibiting interracial marriage unconstitutional, the number of
interracial families in the United States has rapidly increased, interracial dating on
college campuses has become more common, and attitudes toward interracial
marriage have improved. On the other hand, interracial families continue to report
unique external pressures due to the persistence of racismand negotiations over the
classification of their mixed racechildren. As a result, interracial couplings continue
to be the rare exception (and certainly not the rule) when it comes to marriage in
the United States. According to the passage Americans increasingly believe that
race is declining in significance, and many have adopted a color blind ideology in
which racism and discrimination are viewed as relics of the past, inequalities are
understood to be class based (as opposed to race based), and where institutions and
individuals are assumed to act in race neutral ways.
3 How the history of black/white coupling continues to reinforce racial endogamy is

A Summary OfThe Rapture And The Book Of Revelation
In K. Essex s article aptly named, The Rapture and the Book of Revelation, Essex
outlines four promising facts regarding Revelation 3:10. He states,
First, this promise applies not only to one local assembly existing in the days of the
apostle John but to the entire church of Jesus Christ. The constant refrain in all
seven messages from Christ to these churches is He who has an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit says to the churches. Second, the trial which is coming is not local,
but is about to come upon the whole world. The persecutions of the past were usually
limited to one country or area. This trial must refer to the tribulation to come when all
the world will be amazed and follow after the beast (13:3), and all who worship him
will come under the wrath of God. Third, those who dwell on the earth is not a
suitable description for the members of the church. Fourth, the grammar of
П„О·ПЃОП‰ ОµОє (tereГ¶ ek), though not conclusive, favors removal from the
hour of trial.
Not only does Essex, much like Svigel and I touch on the Greek origins of Rev
3:10, but he also picks apart the logic behind the trials coming about the whole
earth. It is not local to one area, it will be meant for everyone left on the planet key
word: left. Thusly, the whole church will have heard the Word from the Great
Advocate by this time. Those who accepted and followed Christ would have been
lifted into the air and taken up with Christ. Essex also points out the scripture that

Lazy is the American Essay
Lazy is the American
Today s American society consists of many technological achievements. The cars
we drive, the classes we take, and even the things we do in our spare time has
changed due to the increasing amount of technology that is available to us.
Technology is a wonderful thing to behold, but then we can look at the one thing
technology has done to humans and especially Americans. Technology has created a
society of many lazy people. In order to support my argument, I believe that it is
imperative to answer one question in great detail. How has technology made us lazy?
Laziness has gradually increased in the past ten years. Kids no longer want to play
outside. It s too hot? or Let me finish this game! are just ... Show more content on

That s why there was school and then baseball not because everyone else did it but
because it was fun and it was something to do. I didn t play outside because I
couldn t play my game, but instead I enjoyed being outside. I enjoy playing video
games, don t get me wrong, but when asked to play baseball or to umpire a game, I
am one of the first ones to accept the offer. It was a part of my childhood unlike
many kids today. Now the kids are asking each other when they are going to be on
MSN or AOL. Are they to lazy to talk to each other while enjoying the outdoors?
They might as well enjoy it now because in 50 years breathing might be difficult and
playing or even walking around outside might be a struggle.
Enough child bashing, adults are living life on the lazy side as well. First, look
what computer have done and are continuing to do today. Computers are
developing so quickly that when you buy one it s nearly out dated by the time you
get it up and running. Computer are being manufactured so quickly that it is nearly
impossible to say you re a computer is new. People seem like they would not be able
to survive without computers. I remember washing the dishes by hand as a chore.
The kids don t do that any more and neither do the parents. All it takes is 5 minutes to
throw the dishes into the dishwasher, press the button, use 6 times the water to wash
them this way instead of by hand, and then they are clean. Thank you computerized
United States Involvement in World War II Essay
The United State s direct involvement in World War II officially began as soon as
the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Prior to that event, America had been providing
arms and equipment to England but stopped short of any direct military
confrontation with the Axis. The War in the Pacific was considered Asia s War and
the European War was considered a local conflict. US Japanese relations had
become strained in 1941, though America felt secure that her naval fleet at Pearl
Harbor, Hawaii was powerful enough to discourage any aggression from Japan. On
July 24, 1941, Japan occupied French Indo China (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos). Two
days after that, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt froze all Japanese assets in the
United States. American trade... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The American proposals included the following principals: respect for the territory
and sovereignty of all nations, no interference in the internal affairs of other
countries, equal opportunity, and support for the status quo in the Pacific by
peaceful means. Secretary Hull promised to free Japanese assets and resume
normal trade with Japan if these conditions were met. The Japanese asked for two
weeks to consider the proposals and by November 26 the aircraft carrier force that
attacked Pearl Harbor was already deployed for that task. American intelligence
was expecting a large attack by Japan but believed that it would take place in the
Philippines or Southeast Asia. President Tojo of Japan warned the U.S. and
England on November 29 that British and American influence in Asia must be
eliminated. Japan officially rejected the Hull proposals on December 1 and on
December 6, President Roosevelt personally appealed to Emperor Hirohito to
pursue peace and withdraw from Indo China. Early on Sunday morning, December
7, 1941, Japanese air and sea forces made a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, a
naval base of the United States. Simultaneously, Japan launched attacks on the
Philippines, Guam, and Midway Island and against British forces in Hong Kong and
the Malay Peninsula. There were eight battleships at pearl Harbor. The Arizona,
California and Utah were sunk. The Nevada was grounded,
Final Report Real Time Interactive Group Project
Final Report Real Time Interactive group project
Introduction
For this report the process of creating the game Chased by Snakes as a member of
Danger Noodle will be discussed.
Methodology
For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to
follow a system akin to free development. This method meant that none of the group
was the project manager and instead the thing keeping people on track was their self
motivation to complete the project. To aid with completing the project at the start of
the project a list of work was set out from the requirements, and then each member of
the group picked the tasks that they could complete for the year. The main reason
such a free and unstructured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if
they want to complete the project to a high standard and a as the group is small a
few unmotivated people can bring the whole project down. The group did have
motivation problems during the middle of the project with some group members not
producing any work. The motivation could have been reduced if the work been
assigned one at a time instead of all at the start allowing people to focus on one
thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller.
A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are
not a lot of examples to follow with many companies using agile. It seems that this
flat management is new to the games industry and so the group might make some
mistakes that others can learn from in the future who want to use the same
structure. There are however some companies that do, valve uses a flat
management structure and so does Chucklefish games (Bithell , Sliwinski,
Orlowski , 2016)(18:25 19:00). At Chucklefish the flat management works well as
there is a small team of people who are all self motivated to complete the parts of the
game they are working on. As we were working in a
Representation Of Cain In The Bible
In the Biblical story of Cain and Abel from the book Genesis, there is no doubt that
Cain was the central character. It was Cain, who got so angry, when God preferred
Abel s gift over Cain s, it was also him, who had a conversation with God about the
role of sin in man s life and at the end, it was him who killed his own brother, but on
the other hand lived a long life full of children. This story is mainly about Cain, so is
Steinbeck s East of Eden. In the first generation of the Trask family, Charles is
considered as Cain representative. Charles is stronger, faster and more intelligent than
his brother Adam. When growing up, he won all the contests he had with his Adam,
so when he got bored with him, he found competition amongst others. At one time,
when Adam and Charles... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Neither Charles nor Caleb is described as pure evil, since many times throughout
the novel they show genuine signs of goodness. In the first generation of the
Trasks, it is Charles, although younger, who protects his older brother against
bullies and their own father (East of Eden 26). After Cyrus dies, when Adam comes
back home and they first talk about their father, Adam says that he didn t love their
father and that he hated him. Charles starts crying and he explains to Adam that
Cyrus loved Adam more than anything in the world; also he mentions the gift they
gave their father and how he loved the puppy Adam gave him and at the end, it was
Charles who says that he loved him, even after the rejection (East of Eden 85).
Caleb, although he considers himself responsible for the death of his brother Aron,
loves both Aron and Adam; he even offers to work at the ranch to put Aron through
college (East of Eden
Example Of Government Manipulation
Government Manipulation The United States government claims that that they are
always for the people of America. And make it sound patriotic and civilized like
everything is going the way it should. When in reality they are hiding the truth
from the U.S citizens whether it is education, laws, or news from the media. The
United States government continues to buy/adopt new government plans through
media that we are not always fully aware of. John Maxwell Hamilton/ Kevin Kosar
explain specific ways in which they are doing to control what we choose/pay for.
We have a right to know which companies receive government contracts, how to
collect insurance benefits and social security payments and what public school
educational reform will look like. But too often, the government uses its
information machinery to do more than simply inform us about a policy.
Sometimes, it tries to persuade us to adopt a particular position, regardless of its
efficacy. What Hamilton and Kosar are saying is that the government is very bias
about media propaganda and persuading the people of the United States about plans
/regulations that we barely understand or know about, into using our own money
towards what they want. Rather than the other choices that they did not want us to
know. This also relates to large news sources such as, Fox News and CNN, who tend
to have a bias point of view with little background information as possible. People
tend to believe Fox News because of their popularity and

The Juxtaposition Of Big Brother In George Orwell s 1984
The juxtaposition of Big Brother in George Orwell s 1984 with our present day
government and social media presence in the United States demonstrates the
imminent danger of imposing figures who control both the actions and thoughts of its
citizens. Throughout the novel, the narrator depicts Big Brother as a controlling
force that takes technology and surveillance of the citizens of Oceania too far.
Similarly, in today s society, we are constantly bombarded with new technology by
the governmentand social media that demands and records our actions as well as our
inner thoughts. As Winston navigates his dangerous and dilapidated world, one can
uncover parallels between his relationship with Big Brother and our relationship with

Kate Attract In Kate Chopin s The Storm
Kate Chopin s The Storm suggests, through the use of characterization, climax, and
tone, that affairs (and storms) are not only terrifying, but liberating. She
demonstrates that the storm which rages within us can be particularly greater than
actual events it self. As the storm is just about to arrive, so too does AlcГ©e. So, in
many ways the storm mirrors the passionate encounter between Calixta and AlcГ©e
because that is when Calixta and AlcГ©e once again get comfortable with each other
and end up sleeping together. As the storm passes and the calm returns, AlcГ©e
leaves Calixta s home returning to his home leaving behind a calm Calixta. It is
interesting that rather than having an expected negative effect on their marriages, the
affair appears to have actually brought them closer to their spouses. This is
significant because Chopin is exploring the idea of marriage or at... Show more

First, Chopin uses the characterization for Calixta (the wife) and Alcee (the former

have an old flame with Alcee. Although it is stated that she had not seen him since
getting married; it was interpreted that she wanted to strike up old topics whilst
talking about an old storm . When Alcee is settled into Calixta s home, he doesn t

Personal Level Of Each Family Member
On a personal level of each family member, one s self esteem may decrease due to
idolizing a specific person too much. For example, a dieting celebrity may be
endorsed for an advertisement and cause a young teen or parent to do the same. This
can cause harm to their bodies that they probably do not know about because the
media does not portray that detail. On a familylevel, happy celebrity families are
always being portrayed happily on TV, but not other issues the family is going
through. For example, the Kardashian family, which is not that much different.

In order for a family to be happy, they need to function properly together; whether it
be money or quality that makes them happy, it is a group effort. However as much
as we do not want to admit it, money does play a huge role in the happiness of a
family.
Unemployment does not reflect positively on parents when it directly affects the
whole family, hence creating an unhealthy atmosphere especially if the
breadwinner loses his or her job. The reason for this is because the loss of
economic security in families may be observed in the way they cut back on food
expenditures, transfer houses, and even rely heavily on government support (Silva,
2010). This forces families to live differently in a way from which they are not used
to; parents are stressed and children never understanding why they switch schools so
much. It is like having your world turned upside down overnight.
Furthermore, unemployment can also be associated with the welfare being of family
members. On the outside, many people struggle to hide the pain that is hurting them.
Once you have to adjust to life limitation, you are not only getting affected by your
living style but so much deeper. It has been evident that, consequently, it is not just
the family s financial ability that gets affected. Unemployment also can also affect
family members emotionally, physically, and psychologically. In some cases, it also

Myths, Legends, and King Arthur Essay
Myths, Legends, and King Arthur
Throughout the dawns of time, people have recorded lives and made histories about
the past, the people and all of their dramatics. One such story is Le morte d Arthur,
or in English, the Death of Arthur. Despite its French title, the actual text was written
in English. It is a twenty one book series written by Sir Thomas Malory in 1469
1470 describing in detail the problematic lives of the Arthurian legends.
Sir Thomas Malory was believed to be born in 1408, but no one really knows for

was most known by his works on the Arthurian legends, and also the first great author

it, lust. So he made a deal with Merlin to change his outward appearance to look the

was to give him the child so that he may raise it and tutor it. Soon after the

After Merlin receives the child, he then takes him to Hector, or Antor, who raises

Like all things mortal, Uther eventually dies and leaves England without a king so
a person must be chosen to represent the sovereign unity. Here is where one of the
differences between stories lie; but nearly all the tales rely on the usage of the

next and true ruler of the land. Many tried and many failed. It wasn t until by a whim
of fate that Arthur managed to pull the sword from the

Lost Our Homes Pet Foundation (LOH)
The name of the community that I researched is Lost Our Homes Pet

L.O.H. was founded in 2008 when the founder, Jodi Polanski, wanted to have a
world in which all pets have loving homes and are treated with respect. Now, that is
the vision and purpose of L.O.H. The mission of L.O.H. is to ensure that all pets
have loving homes when families face major life changes and have to give up their
pets. L.O.H. also is striving to have no pets living on the streets. They are making
as much effort as they can to rescue any stray animals they find. L.O.H. will give
medical care and shots to those animals if needed. When the cat/dog is back to
health, L.O.H. will put the cat/dog in a room with other cats/dogs in the same age
group. The rooms are almost always clean and well kept by volunteers.

Reflection Paper On Beauty
After, making herself unrecognizable, nobody stares at ClГ©o and even after going
up to the jukebox in the cafГ© and turning on one of her songs, the people around
are more annoyed than pleased with her presence (ClГ©o From 5 to 7). Yet,
ClГ©o appears to be upset and restless by the fact that no one is giving her the
attention she is accustomed to (Neroni 125). However, as the movie continues and
ClГ©o meets more and more people and explores the world further while walking
aimlessly, ClГ©o comes to grips with the fact that she may no longer represent
society s expectation of beauty if she does have a horrible skin condition. Thus,
ClГ©o sheds her synthetic self and finally reaches a state of calm self awareness
(Elkin 220). However, before ClГ©o... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once she tells him that something was wrong, his response is what is wrong with
you today, as if something is wrong with her daily (ClГ©o From 5 to 7). This
encourages ClГ©o to not voice her concern about her potentially terminal cancer
because it makes it seem like it is unimportant and just another one of her daily
complaints. ClГ©o s boyfriend makes it appear that her beauty is more important or
even associated with her health by his comments about how her beauty is [her]
health (ClГ©o From 5 to 7). Therefore, ClГ©o s boyfriend is insinuating that as long
as she is beautiful and represents the ideal woman, she is healthy in the eyes of
society, even if she potentially has terminal cancer. ClГ©o s boyfriend is also
demonstrating that as long as she has beauty she does not have any problems.
Unfortunately, ClГ©o s beauty could not possibly protect her from death if her
prognosis was terminal (Elkin 219). Furthermore, ClГ©o is trapped between what
society expects her or any women to be worried about and what should be most
important, her health. While ClГ©o should be worried about her health she is not.
In fact, Neroni states that, ClГ©o actively looks for herself, and this act of looking
reveals her subjectivity the fact that she is the only one who really sees what is
happening to her, while everyone else sees an ideal (Neroni 117). The ideal woman

Judges 3 5
For almost 20 years the Israelites had served Eglon, the wicked king of Moab. Then
Ehud, a man that the Lord had raised up to save the Children of Israel, killed Eglon.
Eglon is the only person in the Bible who is described as being very fat.
Ehud, a Benjamite, was the second judge of Israel. He was a left handed man who
wore a dagger on his right thigh. That s the way he got the Dagger past the security
guard.
After Ehud killed Eglon, the Land enjoyed peace for 80 years; however, When Ehud
was dead the Children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord.
Those were the days when everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
Although, the Lord had delivered the nation of Israel on several occasions, they had
gotten careless and sinful again; therefore,
The Lord sold them into the hands of Jabin, king of the Canaanites. That is not the
only time God has judged His people by selling them to the oppression of the enemy
and America needs to wake up before it s too late.
Now, I remind you that this is not a fable; it s a true life story from the Bible, which
contains excellent encouraging lessons for today s Christian. In fact, there are about
a half dozen sermons that I preach from this story, but don t worry; I ll only be using
one of them today.
The Children of Israel were to have driven the Canaanites out of the land, and they
did so to a degree, but not completely. The Israelites swept down across the land
Mexican Independence
Mexican Independence In New Spain, the Bourbon monarchies in 1808 1810
encouraged some creoles leaders to strike for total independence under the cover of
Ferdinand. On July 1808, Napoleon s capture of Charles the VI and Ferdinand the
VII, and capture of Spain reached Mexico causing intense debate between Mexican
elites. Creoles and Peninsulars prepared to take power and ensure their group would
have power over the other; New Spain, like other Spanish colonies, went through the
crisis of the Bourbon monarchy from 1808 1810. Yet, in Mexicowhat pushed for

It was followed by a long period of war at the Siege of Cuautla. Morelos military
efforts were hampered by differences with fractious civilian allies and by his
decision to establish a representative government at a time. In 1815, Morelos was
captured by Spanish colonial authorities, tried and executed for treason in San
CristГіbal Ecatepec on 22 December.
After ten years of civil war and the death of two of its founders, by early 1820 the
independence movement was stalemated and close to collapse. The rebels faced
stiff Spanish military resistance and the apathy of many of the most influential
criollos. The violent excesses and populist zeal of Hidalgo s and Morelos s irregular
armies had reinforced many criollos fears of race and class warfare, ensuring their
grudging acquiescence to conservative Spanish rule until a less bloody path to
independence could be found. It was at this juncture that the machinations of a
conservative military caudillo coinciding with a successful liberal rebellion in Spain,
made possible a radical realignment of the proindependence forces. Vicente Guerror,
planned to combine independence, monarchy, the supremacy of the Roman Catholic
Church, and the civil equality of the creoles and peninsulares.

Johannes Brahms Analysis
Johannes Brahms is a German composer and pianist in the Romantic era. He
dedicated Intermezzo in A major, Op. 118, No. 2 to his close friend, Clara
Schumann. It was written in 1893 and it is the second piece of Sechs Klavierstucke.
It is considered one of best known creations of his set of later works, that gives off a
profound feeling of nostalgia, mystery, melancholy. An intermezzo is a character
piece which could stand on its own. In this intermezzo, the musicflows with romantic
lyricism in a serene manner. He expanded the thematic material and expressed the
identity of the piece using a strict sense of structure, form and intricate craftsmanship.
Furthermore, he uses techniques such as inversion, imitation, counterpoint, and

Good And Bad Manners
Manners, impact our lives every moment, yet you don t realize it. When you came
into this world, your parents told you hold the door for her , say thank you ,
sharing is caring , or something similar. They tell you that so it looks like they
raised you in the correct manner and so you can make a good first impression. Well,
let me tell you something, some people don t have act accordingly. In this essay, I
will tell you how our society influences our kids to act disrespectful and having poor
manners.
You may ask, how has society influenced our children? Well, firstly society tries to
tell them what is good for them and what isn t. A school has a major influence on it.
Kids nowadays are pressured to make bad decisions, for example, bad manners.
Children who want to be cool try to do things to be in the cool kids group . They will
try everything in their power to make the other kids notice them. But, when they are
noticed and get accepted, that s when everything goes downhill. Since they are in that
group, they ll do anything to stay in that group. If that group curse, they curse, if that
group is smart mouthed, their smart mouthed, if they steal, so do they. Just be
yourself, trust me, the world will be a better place if you be you.
Another thing that can trigger the bad manner bomb, is the internet. Yes, the internet.
Even though it may sound silly, but there are cases with kids having bad manners on
there. For example, cursing. You may be thinking, well my
The Red Tent Essay
Midrash is a form of literature of Hebrew theology and philosophy. There are two
types of midrash: midrash aggadah and midrash halakha. Midrash aggadah can best
be described as a form of storytelling that explores ethics and values in biblical texts.
It can take any biblical word or verse and interpret it to answer a question or explain
something in the text. Ariela Pelaia. Whereas midrashaggadah focuses on biblical
characters as they pertain to values and ideas, midrash halakha focuses on Jewish law
and practice. Midrash halakha attempts to take biblical texts that are either too
general or unclear and try to clarify what they ultimately means.
The novel, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, retell the story of Dinah seen in Genesis,
Chapter 34. In most version of the Bible, all interpretations of Genesis, Chapter 34
infer that Dinah was raped. In the novel Diamant, reinterprets Dinah s rape as a
misunderstood love affair. Some readers categorized the narrative The Red Tent as
being a midrash but the novel goes beyond traditional midrashim. The story is not

her and raped her. In addition, the text goes on to say that the sons of Jacob
became furious because Shechem had defiled Dinah, a thing that should not be
done. In comparison, Diamant s The Red Tent states that Dinah travels to
Shechem, to deliver a baby in the King s palace where she comes across Shalem,
the prince of Shechem. They become immediately attracted to each other and a
few days later, she meets Shalem again who (with a hungry look in his eyes) leads
her to a private room with a bed, where they make love, talk, and sleep for several
days. In the end, the biblical text focuses on Dinah being raped whereas The Red

Benefits of Attending Boarding School for the Arts
Some might ask why anyone would even begin to want to leave home for
something like high school. Why would you leave your home, your friends, your
family? It is indeed a good question, one which I will answer in this essay. The most
important reason I want to go to boarding school is for the arts. Don t get me
wrong; I love my school. It is an arts magnet school, of course, and does have a
partial emphasis on them, but I want to go somewhere where the whole school is
focused on what I love to do most: perform. At GCHS, 70% of the students I ve met
only care about sports. It s difficult to feel passionate about something you love when
everyone just shoots it down for important things. Of course, the administration aren t
like that, but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The class selection is more diverse as well. Recently, they brought in a new class
that essentially allows students to play detective : Forensic science. Finally, there s
one big difference between public school and boarding school: Saturday classes.
Walnut Hill has weekly Saturday classes, which take place during Saturday
morning. This gives you even more time to learn, also less free time, but it keeps
you busy you re always engaged, always learning, and never bored. Most boarding
school classes operate very differently from those at public school. At public
school, your teachers get tired of you trying to engage them with multiple
questions they re there to teach, gosh dang it, not listen to students and their
stupid ramblings. At boarding school, the class structure is much less like a
lecture hall and much more like a conference meeting: everyone offers input and it
s nearly impossible for you to remain silent and unengaged. This means that you
won t end up like the guy in front of me in geometry who simply sits and scrolls
Facebook because no one has enough time to just sit and discuss his issues and
grades with him. Boarding school also contains incredible resources. A weight
room, swimming pool, fully stocked library, and amazing theatre facilities are some
of the ones at Walnut Hill. Because you have such great resources, it s not difficult
for one to find a good accelerated reader book for English class, nor is it difficult to
read up on that new
Willingham s Arguments Against The Death Penalty
In 2004, a Texas man named Cameron Todd Willingham was executed for
murdering his three young daughters by setting his house on fire. This conviction
was based on faulty forensic science which assumed that the fire was caused by
arson. There multiple fire science experts who reviewed the case and became
opposed to Willingham s execution stating there was no evidence to prove that the
fire was intentionally set. In 2010, the Texas Forensic Science Commission released a
report admitting that Willingham s conviction was based on flawed science . One of
the witnesses during the trial who was an inmate at the same prison as Willingham
testified that Willingham confessed to the killing while in jail but later on recanted
his statements. Willingham s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Fact sheet found on the Death Penalty Information Center showed that solely
in Kansas, there was an average of $400,000 per case for defense costs by inmates
placed on death row compared to the average of $100,000 paid per case to defense
attorneys when there was no death penalty (DPIC). Alarcon and Mitchell
conducted a study in 2011 that showed that just in California getting through the
process of having an inmate on death row was over $4,000,000,000 (DPIC). This
was due to the various amounts of fees that had to be paid for court trials, appeals,
housing death row inmates in preparation for their incarcerations etc. (DPIC) lastly
just in the state of Texas, the cost of carrying out a death penalty case, which is
$2.3 million is three times as much as housing an inmate in solitary confinement at
a maximum security prison for 4 decades (DPIC). This huge difference in numbers
add to how unrighteous it would be to keep the death penalty legal in the U.S.
Lastly, the death penalty should be illegal because innocent men and women might
be put to death due to corrupt trial or weak defense. Just as shown in the case of
Todd Willingham, stated in the introduction, there were plenty of evidence hidden
by the prosecution team and was later revealed after Later revealed after execution.

Examples Of Slavery In Kindred
In Kindred, Dana is repeatedly teleported back to the 1800s to help her ancestor,
Rufus Weylin, out of trouble. Unfortunately, this is also the time when slavery was
alive and well. Dana, a black woman, gets whipped and treated like most other
slaves at the time. Short of fearing for her life, feeling dizzy, and teleporting back to
her time, there is no easy way out. Dana has to consent to this treatment to survive.
Among other scenes, this shows that when slaves see no easy way to escape, it s
much easier to submit than risk punishment or death. Slaves are made by forcing
people into slaveryand making escaping or resisting very difficult.
When Dana and Keven are both in 1819, Kevin takes a job tutoring Rufus and Dana
helps the house slaves. When they sit in the woods one day, Kevin points out how
little there is to see, angering Dana. She mentions Robert s whipping, saying Weylin
had two other slaves strip Robert down and tie him to a tree...And [they] all just
stood there. Did nothing. Kevin says there is nothing she can do that won t get [her]

Budget Questions With My School
Sitting down and discussing budget questions with our school bookkeeper was the
most chaotic 45 minutes of my school week. I always thought being the
bookkeeper would be a stressful job because of the amount of money you had to
deal with and all of the things you had to keep track of it, not because of everyday
office chaos. Our bookkeeper does an exceptional job and our principal agrees that
she will probably never find someone to replace her, however with all of the other
stresses I could understand our bookkeeper leaving. While I was with Mrs. Banks
there were people constantly coming by and asking her to do things. Mrs. Banks
does not have her own office and people often treat her like a secretary. Mrs. Banks
and I discussed how this is one of the main issues with her job.
She talked about how much she loved doing the budgeting and financing part of it,
but how it was extremely difficult to do this and everything else. While I was there
she was trying to write six receipts for faculty members and this took over thirty
minutes, something that should take five. Every time she went to open the receipt
books someone would come in with a question (student or faculty) and she would
have to close the receipt book and put it and the money in her drawer to protect
confidentiality. She talked about how this could also cause you to misplace money
if you were not careful. She said some days she has little money and some days she
has anywhere from six to eight thousand
Social Entrepreneurship And Economic Growth
In 1978, China started its economic reform, which opened the door for entrepreneurs
to venture in the rural and agricultural sectors (Naughton, 1995). This decision has
led hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and can be considered one of the
most significant events in poverty reduction in the twentieth century (Urban
Springerlink, 2010). Through the newly created firms, jobs were created and people
were able to access a range of products and services which eventually effected the
total household saving which increased by 10% within approximately four years of
introducing the reform in addition to the contribution of these firms to China s
economic growth (Naughton, 1995).
Entrepreneurship can be used to solve problems in the society and this paper will
focus on examining social entrepreneurship in particular starting with the social
impacts of entrepreneurship, the need for social entrepreneurship followed by
characteristics and examples of these socially driven entrepreneurship.
Not all entrepreneurs have societal benefits in their agenda when starting a new
business however social value is still generated through the creation of new jobs (12),
which in turn reduces unemployment and poverty rates (Westhead, Wright Mcelwee,
2011). For example, new start ups were responsible for 50% of job opportunities in
the U.S. from the year 1982 to 1985 (HГ©bert Link, 1989).
These new owners also pay taxes, which the government uses to fund developmental

Henry Viii Influence
Literature has become the most important factor in the construction of the English
monarchy. It has become the way in which people communicate and share their
ideas throughout the world. English literature is the essential piece in ruling a
country and determining the future for that country. In England, English literature
has evolved through a number of versions due to the changes made to the policies
and laws, religion, culture, and the monarchy. Henry VIII was born on June 28,
1491 by Elizabeth of York and Henry VII at Greenwich Palace (BBC News). In his
early age, he was very interested in the arts and enjoyed reading literature. In 1509,
Henry VIII succeeded his father Henry VII (1457 1509), but had originally become
heir to the throne after his older brother, Prince Arthur, died in 1502 (Henry VIII
(r.1509 1547)). He reigned during the House of Tudor monarchy when he was only
eighteen years old until he died in 1547, having Edward VI succeed him. Throughout
his years of reign, he married six women including: Catherine of Aragon, Anne
Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr. In
1527, Henry divorced Catherine of Aragon, since she could no longer conceive
children, and became infatuated with Anne Boleyn (Henry s Divorce). This decision
led to the English Protestant Reformation which were a series of events...[in] which
the Church of England broke away from the authority of the Pope and the Roman
Catholic Church (English Reformation).
Agar Diffusion Investigation
The experiment undertaken was a comparison of the rate of effectiveness of synthetic
and natural antibacterial agents against a strain of Escherichia coli. The initial theory
was that synthetic agents would essentially work more efficiently against the E coli
as the product had been manufactured specifically to fight the harmful nature of the
bacteria. However, after concluding the investigation, the data and evidence collected
potentially disproves the initial hypothesis.
The investigation was similar to the Kirby Bauer test, or the Agar diffusion test, in
which the group used three natural antibacterial agents and two synthetic agents.
Natural agents were lemon, garlic and tea tree oil, while synthetic agents were bleach
and hand sanitizer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research has been conducted on the contents on tea tree oil and studies have
shown that only 13% of patients treated for a MSRA infection (usually a skin boil
caused by a staph bacterium (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2016)) were cleared, compared to
an impressive 30% of patients being cleared of the infection after being treated with
tea tree oil. Within tea tree oil, there are over 100 chemicals making the formula and
seven of those chemicals are terpenes. (Science News, 2001) Terpenes are any of a
large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants .
(Merriam Webster, 2016) Tea tree oil is mostly composed of monoterpenes,
sesquiterpenes, and their associated alcohols. Seemingly, when these terpenes are
introduced to bacteria, they practically punch holes in to the bacteria, causing them to
die. The primary theory behind the mechanism of action against bacteria is based off
tea tree oil s hydrocarbon structure (structures that only consist of carbon and
hydrogen) and associated lipophilicity (the ability of a chemical compound to
dissolve in fats, oil, liquids, etc.) Hydrocarbons separate in to biological membranes
and disrupt their vital functions, thus causing in this case, bacteria, to be affected and
lose potential of causing any more damage or harm to an organism. (Carson, 2006)
These studies help with understanding why the tree tea oil was the prime antibacterial
agent, compared to its other natural and synthetic counterparts. Nonetheless, there is
still the possibility of human error or unintentional mistakes that prevented the other
antibacterial agents from performing
Analysis Of Peaceful Warrior
Dan v.s His Ego Dan s pride and ego gets to the best of him. It makes Dan do things
that are out of his comfort zone. What if Dan had the chance to change that, would
he take that opportunity to become better? In the movie, Peaceful Warrior Dan
Millman had the opportunity to change himself for the better. Dan had the chance
to rethink his ways, his actions and do the right things. Throughout the movie it
was Dan v.s his alter ego, but that changed when he meets a man named Socrates.
In the beginning of the movie Dan lets his ego get to the best of him while he was
practicing his flips and tricks on the rings. Dan was trying to practice landing a
triple flip on the rings for his big finisher of his routine. While Dan was on the rings
everything was rushing through his head, he was not focused, he was not determined
to land the flip. Dan thought he could make the flip not matter what, but he did not
know that his ego started to come out and take over. For Dan s ego coming outhe was
not able to land the triple flip that he wanted to land. When Dan did not make the
flip, and fell on his face on the mate underneath him the coach, Coach Garrick said
something like You have a big ego, stop with the ego, so you can become better
and make the landing. What the coach is trying to tell Dan is that is ego is way
too big, he needs to let it go, and his ego is getting in the way of him landing the
triple flip and become better at what he loves to do. Dan starts to think about what
Coach Garrick tells him and then Dan meets an old man named Socrates that helps
him start to let go of his ego and his old ways. Later, in the movie Dan starts to clear
his mindand listens to what Socrates has to say, but his ego still comes and goes.
Dan starts to what Socrates tells him to do without getting mad or upset, but his ego
still floats around with him because he still did not take out the trash that s in his
head, but during practice one day he did take out the trash. Dan finally learned how to
clear his mind, during tryouts one day at the California University gym, he got up on
the pommel horse and did not think about anything but just did. Later that night Dan
went back to the service station where

The Sniper Character Analysis
When I was in first grade I went to Michigan Adventures, which is a theme park
with lots of rides. My friend and I went on most of all the rides. After that my
friend wanted to go on Shivering Timbers, a tall wooden coaster, it s highest point
being 122 feet. We got in line and I was very nervous, so my friend asked me
multiple times if I was fine with going, and for some reason I said yes every time,
but I was frightened on the inside and I did not want to go. By the time I wanted to
tell him I didn t want to ride it, I was already on the ride. First we went up, then
back down continuously until we turned and did the same thing going back until it
stopped. After, I was happy I rode the ride, and I felt accomplished. This shows
bravery because I was risking what felt like my life due to me being scared of the
roller coaster. Bravery is doing something other people might not, which is what I
did because people scared of roller coasters wouldn t ride on them. This trait is also
relevant to the main characters in the books The Sniper by Liam O Flaherty whose
main character is known as the IRA Sniper or Irish Republic Army sniper, and
Michael from The Eye of Minds by James Dashner, who is a hacker in a virtual world
who is hunting down a cyber terrorist. The characters Michael and the IRA Sniper
are both brave because they are willing to risk their lives for the greater good.
Michael from The Eye of Minds is brave due to risking his life in multiple occasions.

Comparing Leslie In California, By Andre Dubus
Why is life so hard? What do we do to deserve these things that happen to us? No
one deserves to be hurt physically, mentally, or emotionally in life. Whether it s
good or bad, life is going to happen. In the stories, Leslie in California, written by
Andre Dubus, and The Story of an Hour, written by Kate Chopin, the characters in
the stories are alike in some ways. Both Dubus and Chopin are an example of
someone who didn t deserve what life threw at them. According to
TheFamousPeople website, Dubus was married three times and had six children.
He had four by his first wife, Patricia Lowe, and two by his last wife, Peggy
Rambach. As for Chopin, she was the only one of her four siblings that lived past
the age of twenty five. They both hit a rough patch in their lives at a young age.
According to TheFamousPeople website, Andre Dubus enlisted in the U.S. Marine
Corps upon his graduation and served there for six years, eventually rising to the
rank of captain. Dubus was obviously going in the right direction with his life. To
many people, Dubus at the time was considered a hero. According to the
CliffsNotes website, Chopin grew up in a household dominated by women: her
mother, great grandmother, and the female slaves her mother owned. On the
CliffsNotes website it says, Kate was born with the last name O Flaherty. She
married Oscar Chopin in 1870, and he died in 1882. Which made her a widow who
had to look after six kids. On TheFamousPeople website it also says, In July
Becoming A Veterinarian Research Paper
It is no secret that social media is seen as an outlet, where we can post our innermost
thoughts and feelings, no matter how awful they are, and many times, without any
consequence. The anonymity of social media bolsters some people to post rants,
hate speech, and other offensive comments that they would almost certainly never
say face to face. There have been multiple occasions throughout my life where I
have witnessed people expressing such feelings on social media. However, there was
one occasion in particular that has always, and will always, stick with me.
A few years ago, during my sophomore year of high school, I was awarded being
captain of my high school s cheerleading team. From my time as captain, I became
friends with many of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, it is my ultimate dream to become a veterinarian. This career often sees
many different types of situations. Sometimes, it may be blissful and enjoyable,
like when you save an abused dog from potentially dying. Other times it can be
heartbreaking and unpleasant. There is no simple rule for when to express
feelings. Instead, we must exercise judgment. We have an ethical obligation to
make thoughtful choices about whether, when, and how to express our emotions.
At times, being a veterinarian, I may want to grieve with a family over the loss of
their pet or even anger if I am unable to help an animal in need. However,
displaying such emotions would be extremely inappropriate and unprofessional
while simultaneously violating professional norms. Instead of revealing the
emotions described above, a veterinarian should exhibit strength and courage. They
should be able to remain positive during even the bleakest times. For example, if I
were to discover that one of my client s pets had an incurable type of cancer and
would require euthanasia, I would want to remain optimistic, while providing
comfort to the family and the pet during such a hard time. If the family senses my
sadness or anger, they are more inclined to feel the same way as me. With that
being said, if I present a positive, relaxed mood, the family would be more slanted
towards those feelings. Although I would be saddened by an event such as this, it
would be quite unprofessional for me to do break into tears, despite my sadness.
Everyone will have to deal with negative emotions during their career, at some point
or another, and learning how to cope with these feelings and which are appropriate to
express is crucial to our
The Impact of a Pandemic
The world has experienced a total of four pandemics within the twentieth century.
These pandemics, as horrific and deadly as they are, have brought so much more
positive advances to our health care system and how we prepare for biological
threats. Although we are in the twenty first century and we have advanced so far in
healthcare, there is still the possibility of a deadly pandemic. Many people may
confuse Pandemic with Epidemic which can often times lead to being over
prepared or under prepared. An epidemic as an infectious disease that quickly
travels within a city, state, or country from person to person. An example of an
epidemic would be SARS, which spread through many countries and killed roughly
800 people. On the other hand, Pandemics differ because the infectious disease is
spread globally. A pandemic has a much higher infectious rate and an even larger
death rate compared to an epidemic. The world has experienced a total of four
pandemics in the twentieth century starting in 1918 until present. In 1918, the
spanish flu caught worldwide attention when it infected close to half the population
of the world, claiming more than 40 million lives. What made the spanish flu
capable of infecting over a billion people was the ability to quickly transfer from
person to person. At the time, world war 1 was happening and the mass activation
and recruitment of troops to fight made the spread of the flu easy. The Asian flu of
1957 was second deadly pandemic to hit the

Survival Strategies: After Cost Cutting, Companies Turn Toward Price Rises They
Don t Call Them That, But Some Trim Discounts And Add New Premiums
Charging Extra for Odd Sizes By Timothy Aeppel 1,783 words 18 September 2002
The Wall Street Journal (Copyright (c) 2002, Dow Jones Company, Inc.) Inside the
walls of American industrial companies, something unusual is going on: an all out
search for new ways to charge more money without raising prices. Goodyear Tire
Rubber Co. has chopped discounts to its biggest distributors, which had been taking
advantage of favorable prices to undercut Goodyear elsewhere. Jergens Inc., a
Cleveland industrial parts maker, has started charging big premiums for small orders
of fasteners that it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The information goes to the company s tactical pricing group in Akron. The 10
person group tries to determine whether the competitor s offer is for real, using
information gleaned from what it knows of the other company s strategy in that
area, and more importantly, whether Goodyear could make money if it matches the
offer. Goodyear has had a pricing team since 1998, but it didn t have final say on
such deals until January. To really gain control of prices and increase them
Goodyear had to crack down on the deep discounts it gives its largest distributors.
The prices were so low that regional distributors were loading their warehouses and
reselling the tires outside their own area. Even with the added cost of transportation,
they were able to cut into Goodyear s own sales to its smaller distributors, forcing
the street price of Goodyear s tires down.

So Goodyear in January cut the size of its discounts to large distributors. Many big
distributors showed their displeasure by reducing their orders, cutting into
Goodyear s revenues in the last two quarters. But Goodyear hasn t budged and said
the move is paying off. As we ve closed the gap between the largest dealers and the
smallest dealers and established some price discipline in the market, we ve seen our
Fate Of Juliet In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a tragic story between two young lovers. But, what if it the
ending could have been changed? These two individuals love was doomed by the
people closest to them. They were robbed of their true love by a feud between two
families and the ignorance of the ones they had trusted most. The deaths of Romeo
and his love, Juliet, was not their fault. The mistakes of the foolish adults around
them caused death to claim their lives.
Death had claimed the lives of two individuals that loved each other deeply. If not
for how the Nurse acted, they could have been able to live a full and long life
together. The Nurse informs Juliet about who Romeo is and that he is indeed a
Montague. If the Nurse had told Juliet that he was a Montague ... Show more content

Friar. The one man that held the outcome of the two beloveds. Friar, being the
talented man that he was, provided Juliet with a plan. They would deceive the
parents, nurse, and Paris with a fake death. The plan was all made by the Friar. He
did not think about the possible consequences that the plan could bring. If he
would have thought through the plan, and informed Romeo before it happened,
there could have been a different outcome. The scheme the Friar came up with was
using a poison that would make Juliet go into a death like state. Her body would
grow cold, pale, stiff, and non breathing. Then, when found, she would be thought
dead. After she would be laid in the tomb, she would wait for Romeo. Romeo
would be sent a letter that informed him of all of this. The only problem is that
Romeo would have received the letter far too late. Finally, when Juliet needed
saving from killing herself, the Friar was not there to stop her. He had abandoned
her with a sharp dagger that was open for all eyes to see. He wasn t being intelligent
in that moment. If he would have stayed and taken responsibility for his actions,

The Rise of Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela is one of the greatest honorable and governmental leaders.
Mandela, was a universal idol, whose enduring devotion was to fight against racial
oppression in South Africa. Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, then he
became the presidency of his country in 1994. Up until his prison release in 1990
Nelson Mandela has been at the center of the most captivating and inspirational
governmental concerns in the world. President of the African National Congress
(ANC) and the leader of South Africa s antiapartheid movement, he was relentless
in the movement of a nation towards a multicultural government. Nelson Mandela
served everywhere as a vigorous strength for the fight of human civil rights and
racial equal opportunity. African tradition was you were not a man unless you
have been circumcised, Mandela was considered a man at the age of 16, along
with 25 other African men. In his early 20 s he joined a group called African
National Congress (ANC) in 1940 s. In 1952 Mandela joined the ANC Youth
League, within the same year he also became the President of the ANC Transvaal

people helping them to have their voices heard under current laws. With the amount
of people that they had, they didn t believe in the old fashion way of protesting,

Ethnography Exide Battery Plant in Vernon, Los Angeles
The Exide Battery plant operated in the industrial city of Vernon since 1922,
causing many environmental problems. Over the years, the battery plant has
polluted the air and released toxic substances such as lead and arsenic. Exide is a
lead acid battery smelter, which was responsible for melting down lead from old used
car batteries for producing new ones. The Exide Company violated environmental
regulations for years and local, state, and federal officials cited the plant over and
over for emitting cancer causing chemicals and toxins. The battery plant was also
responsible for the illegal storage and transportation of hazardous waste. Exide s lead
emissions have contaminated soil in six southeast Los Angeles communities: Boyle
Heights, East Los Angeles, Commerce, Bell, Huntington Park, and Maywood. The
California Department of Toxic Substance Control knew for years the Exide Battery
Plant was violating environmental laws and failed to stop it. It was not until 2015
that the Exide Battery Plant was closed after many communities protested and
provided evidence of pollution and effects on their health.

However, it was not until 2008, after receiving complaints of falling ash on nearby
soil, streets, and businesses that air quality regulators acted to deal with the toxic
emissions. In 2013, the toxic department tried to shut the plant down. Many
communities protested and held public meetings about Exide s pollution problem.
Various protesters spoke to city officials to bring down Exide. The company went to
court and got a state closure order overturned. Strict new air quality regulations were
forced in 2014, however, the company continued to emit too much
John Kotter s Eight Steps To Change
John Kotter s eight step process has been identified as steps whereby management
should practice to boost the probability of successful implementation of changes
shown in Figure4.
Figure4. A Systematic Approach: Eight Steps to Change.
We shall use the impact of low cost airline as an example to understand each step.
In 2003, Lufthansa was facing intense competition from low cost airline on short haul
domestic flights. In the fight for domination in the German skies, Lufthansa intend to
match the low cost rivals by expanding its own network of cut price domestic and
European services. 3.2.1Step 1. Establish a sense of urgency.
From previous experiences of battling competition and enforcing change, the first step
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3.2.4Step 4. Communicate the vision.
During the implementation of change, there are bound to have resisters opposing the
change. Communication is the crucial factor to convert the resisters with managers
taking advantages of all the communication channels in the organisation to get the
transformation effort across to all. It must be able to convey and explain the
specifically how the vision will benefit them.
3.2.5Step 5. Empower others to act on the vision.
In every change, there are bound to be obstacles. The first four steps encourage
employees to accept changes. To further support change, obstacles that obstruct the
way to attaining the vision should be eliminated. If the obstacles happen to be an
employee, the organisation may well have to decide the option available or sever the
relationship with the individual.
3.2.6Step 6. Generate short term wins
Depending on the significance of change, some transformation of change might take
years to before it is successfully implemented. In the case of Lufthansa, in order to top
the low cost aviation industry, the duration might approximately take ten years.
Attitude and motivation among employees might fade along the way. Soon, they will
loose sight of the vision and become discouraged and disappointed therefore
Lufthansa should set up multiple short term win situations in a major transformation
change.
3.2.7Step 7. Consolidate gains and push for more change.
It is important to note
The Boulos Brothers Haiti
THE BOULOS BROTHERS: ENGINE OF CORRUPTION: BILL AND HILARY
CLINTON HENCHMEN IN HAITI. PETIONVILLE, HAITI Haiti is plagued with
endemic corruption, and crimes such as drug trafficking, money laundering,
kidnapping, and murders supported, perpetrated and encouraged by members of the
Haitian civil society, and corrupt government officials. No single family in Haiti
exercises more control over governmental, business affairs and the overall economy
in Haiti including murderous gangs than the Boulos Brothers (Reginald and
Rudolph). The Boulos have long cemented their power and authority in Haiti through
bribing of government officials. Their names are synonymous to everything that is
wrong in Haiti. Over the years, they have committed every crime imaginable for
which they never have to worry about accountability, the victims of their crimes.
Decades of unpunished graft led many to conclude that the Boulos are untouchable
and unlike everyone else are above the law. Great wealth is often associated with
despicable crimes. The pursuit of wealth, power and status driven by unregulated
ambitions often result on exorbitant human cost. Few in Haiti has surpassed the

Peace Like A River Courage
Schools in the US recommend that each person complete 12 acts of courage per
day, but to me, courage is not something that happens every day, it is special.
Courage is when when somebody goes and helps an injured animal on the side of
the road, or a lifeguard saves a drowning child from death. To me, courageis when
someone goes out of their ways to do the right thing no matter how scary or
difficult the task is. To prove this I read and analyzed the book Peace Like a River
by Leif Enger. In the book there was one specific character that displayed the most
courage and that was Jeremiah, Reuben, the main character s, father. Out of all of
Jeremiah s acts of courage there were three that really stood out to me: Jeremiah
resuscitates his newborn son, Reuben, after all the doctors gave up on him, Jeremiah
rescues and protects his eldest son s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

laughter just flooded through her and came not only from relief, as you might

even while cheerleading. (Leif Enger 24). This event in the book displays courage
because Jeremiah went out of his way to save Dolly and fight the bullies even
though it was difficult and scary for

Neolithic Revolution Essay

  • 1. • 2. The Mona Lis The Identity Of The Individual Essay The Mona Lisa remains as probably the most famous and most valuable piece of artwork of all times. It is widely viewed as one of the finest illustration of portrait work done during the Italian Renaissance. The Mona Lisa was one of the first pieces of art that I remember looking at in my elementary art class. Leonardo Da Vinci, a famous Italian artist, created the piece. It is currently held at a museum in Paris, France. It is believed Leonardo worked on the oil painting during the early 1500 s. The identity of the individual featured in the portrait has, over the years, sparked debate all over the world; some even claim it is Leonardo Da Vinci himself. The identity of the individual, however, is believed to be Lisa del Giocondo. There has also been debate surrounding the message passed in the painting as it is somewhat difficult to read the expression on Lisa s face. The Mona Lisadepicts the image of a female subject sitting upright and tilted sideways. The face and the chest of the subject are slightly turned to face the viewer. The individual s right arm comes across the body and rest on top of her left arm. The left arm is resting on the armrest of the chair she is sitting in. The portrait has a background with a landscape depicting a vanishing point. The landscape has an imbalance between a rocky horizon that is high and a flat land stretching all the way from the left. The imbalance in the background landscape clearly brings out the fantastic atmosphere of the

Benefit Of Moderate Drinking Benefits of Moderate Drinking Drinking alcohol can be good for your health and studies have shown that boozing on occasion has some perks which includes reduced stress, decresed risk of heart attacks, and lower chances of diabetes. Social drinking is used by many people globally. Kloner et al.(2007) from the School of Public Health at Harvard University found that moderate amounts of alcoholraises levels of high density lipoprotein, and higher HDL levels are associated with greater protection against heart disease. Moderate alcohol consumption has also been linked with beneficial changes ranging from better sensitivity to insulin to improvements in factors that influence blood clotting. Such changes would tend to prevent the formation of small blood clots that can block arteries in the heart, neck, and brain, the ultimate cause of many heart attacks and the most common kind of stroke. This finding is applicable to both men and women. HDL cholesterolis the well behaved good cholesterol . It removes harmful bad cholesterol from where it doesn t belong. Drinking in moderate amounts can lead to certain psychological benefits, as research show. Low levels of alcohol can reduce stress, anxiety and help reduce tension. Studies show that low levels of comsupmtion get more sleep on average than those who sleeps in excess. In addition, consumption can also cause the comsumer to feel more relaxed. The Importance Of Interracial Marriage The ways America shows their attitudes toward interracial marriage and illustrate an awkward historical moment and the changing nature of race relations in the United States is by the disconnection between Americans attitudes toward interracial marriage and their behavior illustrates the awkward historical moment that we currently inhabit. On the one hand, in the four decades since the U.S. Supreme Court declared laws prohibiting interracial marriage unconstitutional, the number of interracial families in the United States has rapidly increased, interracial dating on college campuses has become more common, and attitudes toward interracial marriage have improved. On the other hand, interracial families continue to report unique external pressures due to the persistence of racismand negotiations over the classification of their mixed racechildren. As a result, interracial couplings continue to be the rare exception (and certainly not the rule) when it comes to marriage in the United States. According to the passage Americans increasingly believe that race is declining in significance, and many have adopted a color blind ideology in which racism and discrimination are viewed as relics of the past, inequalities are understood to be class based (as opposed to race based), and where institutions and individuals are assumed to act in race neutral ways. 3 How the history of black/white coupling continues to reinforce racial endogamy is by the following
  • 6. A Summary OfThe Rapture And The Book Of Revelation In K. Essex s article aptly named, The Rapture and the Book of Revelation, Essex outlines four promising facts regarding Revelation 3:10. He states, First, this promise applies not only to one local assembly existing in the days of the apostle John but to the entire church of Jesus Christ. The constant refrain in all seven messages from Christ to these churches is He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Second, the trial which is coming is not local, but is about to come upon the whole world. The persecutions of the past were usually limited to one country or area. This trial must refer to the tribulation to come when all the world will be amazed and follow after the beast (13:3), and all who worship him will come under the wrath of God. Third, those who dwell on the earth is not a suitable description for the members of the church. Fourth, the grammar of П„О·ПЃОП‰ ОµОє (tereГ¶ ek), though not conclusive, favors removal from the hour of trial. Not only does Essex, much like Svigel and I touch on the Greek origins of Rev 3:10, but he also picks apart the logic behind the trials coming about the whole earth. It is not local to one area, it will be meant for everyone left on the planet key word: left. Thusly, the whole church will have heard the Word from the Great Advocate by this time. Those who accepted and followed Christ would have been lifted into the air and taken up with Christ. Essex also points out the scripture that follows after

The cars we drive, the classes we take, and even the things we do in our spare time has changed due to the increasing amount of technology that is available to us. Prior to that event, America had been providing arms and equipment to England but stopped short of any direct military confrontation with the Axis. The War in the Pacific was considered Asia s War and the European War was considered a local conflict. US Japanese relations had become strained in 1941, though America felt secure that her naval fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was powerful enough to discourage any aggression from Japan. Secretary Hull promised to free Japanese assets and resume normal trade with Japan if these conditions were met. The Japanese asked for two weeks to consider the proposals and by November 26 the aircraft carrier force that attacked Pearl Harbor was already deployed for that task. American intelligence was expecting a large attack by Japan but believed that it would take place in the Philippines or Southeast Asia. President Tojo of Japan warned the U.S. and England on November 29 that British and American influence in Asia must be eliminated. Japan officially rejected the Hull proposals on December 1 and on December 6, President Roosevelt personally appealed to Emperor Hirohito to pursue peace and withdraw from Indo China. Early on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, Japanese air and sea forces made a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, a naval base of the United States. Simultaneously, Japan launched attacks on the Philippines, Guam, and Midway Island and against British forces in Hong Kong and the Malay Peninsula. There were eight battleships at pearl Harbor. The motivation could have been reduced if the work been assigned one at a time instead of all at the start allowing people to focus on one thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller. A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are not a lot of examples to follow with many companies using agile. When in reality they are hiding the truth from the U.S citizens whether it is education, laws, or news from the media. The United States government continues to buy/adopt new government plans through media that we are not always fully aware of. John Maxwell Hamilton/ Kevin Kosar explain specific ways in which they are doing to control what we choose/pay for. We have a right to know which companies receive government contracts, how to collect insurance benefits and social security payments and what public school educational reform will look like. But too often, the government uses its information machinery to do more than simply inform us about a policy. Sometimes, it tries to persuade us to adopt a particular position, regardless of its efficacy. What Hamilton and Kosar are saying is that the government is very bias about media propaganda and persuading the people of the United States about plans /regulations that we barely understand or know about, into using our own money towards what they want. This also relates to large news sources such as, Fox News and CNN, who tend to have a bias point of view with little background information as possible. However as much as we do not want to admit it, money does play a huge role in the happiness of a family. Unemployment does not reflect positively on parents when it directly affects the whole family, hence creating an unhealthy atmosphere especially if the breadwinner loses his or her job. The reason for this is because the loss of economic security in families may be observed in the way they cut back on food expenditures, transfer houses, and even rely heavily on government support (Silva, 2010). This forces families to live differently in a way from which they are not used to; parents are stressed and children never understanding why they switch schools so much. Therefore, ClГ©o s boyfriend is insinuating that as long as she is beautiful and represents the ideal woman, she is healthy in the eyes of society, even if she potentially has terminal cancer. ClГ©o s boyfriend is also demonstrating that as long as she has beauty she does not have any problems. Unfortunately, ClГ©o s beauty could not possibly protect her from death if her prognosis was terminal (Elkin 219). Furthermore, ClГ©o is trapped between what society expects her or any women to be worried about and what should be most important, her health. While ClГ©o should be worried about her health she is not. In fact, Neroni states that, ClГ©o actively looks for herself, and this act of looking reveals her subjectivity the fact that she is the only one who really sees what is happening to her, while everyone else sees an ideal (Neroni 117). • 23. A Woman, A Nail, And A Hammer A Woman, A Nail and A Hammer Judges 3 5 For almost 20 years the Israelites had served Eglon, the wicked king of Moab. Then Ehud, a man that the Lord had raised up to save the Children of Israel, killed Eglon. Eglon is the only person in the Bible who is described as being very fat. Ehud, a Benjamite, was the second judge of Israel. He was a left handed man who wore a dagger on his right thigh. That s the way he got the Dagger past the security guard. After Ehud killed Eglon, the Land enjoyed peace for 80 years; however, When Ehud was dead the Children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord. Those were the days when everyone did what was right in his own eyes. Although, the Lord had delivered the nation of Israel on several occasions, they had gotten careless and sinful again; therefore, The Lord sold them into the hands of Jabin, king of the Canaanites. That is not the only time God has judged His people by selling them to the oppression of the enemy and America needs to wake up before it s too late. Now, I remind you that this is not a fable; it s a true life story from the Bible, which contains excellent encouraging lessons for today s Christian. In fact, there are about a half dozen sermons that I preach from this story, but don t worry; I ll only be using one of them today. The Children of Israel were to have driven the Canaanites out of the land, and they did so to a degree, but not completely. The Israelites swept down across the land

After ten years of civil war and the death of two of its founders, by early 1820 the independence movement was stalemated and close to collapse. The rebels faced stiff Spanish military resistance and the apathy of many of the most influential criollos. The violent excesses and populist zeal of Hidalgo s and Morelos s irregular armies had reinforced many criollos fears of race and class warfare, ensuring their grudging acquiescence to conservative Spanish rule until a less bloody path to independence could be found. When you came into this world, your parents told you hold the door for her , say thank you , sharing is caring , or something similar. They tell you that so it looks like they raised you in the correct manner and so you can make a good first impression. Well, let me tell you something, some people don t have act accordingly. In this essay, I will tell you how our society influences our kids to act disrespectful and having poor manners. You may ask, how has society influenced our children? Well, firstly society tries to tell them what is good for them and what isn t. A school has a major influence on it. Kids nowadays are pressured to make bad decisions, for example, bad manners. Children who want to be cool try to do things to be in the cool kids group . They will try everything in their power to make the other kids notice them. But, when they are noticed and get accepted, that s when everything goes downhill. Since they are in that group, they ll do anything to stay in that group. If that group curse, they curse, if that group is smart mouthed, their smart mouthed, if they steal, so do they. Just be yourself, trust me, the world will be a better place if you be you. Another thing that can trigger the bad manner bomb, is the internet. Yes, the internet. Even though it may sound silly, but there are cases with kids having bad manners on there. For example, cursing. You may be thinking, well my
  • 27. The Red Tent Essay Midrash is a form of literature of Hebrew theology and philosophy. There are two types of midrash: midrash aggadah and midrash halakha. Midrash aggadah can best be described as a form of storytelling that explores ethics and values in biblical texts. It can take any biblical word or verse and interpret it to answer a question or explain something in the text. Ariela Pelaia. Why would you leave your home, your friends, your family? It is indeed a good question, one which I will answer in this essay. The most important reason I want to go to boarding school is for the arts. Don t get me wrong; I love my school. It is an arts magnet school, of course, and does have a partial emphasis on them, but I want to go somewhere where the whole school is focused on what I love to do most: perform. Most boarding school classes operate very differently from those at public school. At public school, your teachers get tired of you trying to engage them with multiple questions they re there to teach, gosh dang it, not listen to students and their stupid ramblings. At boarding school, the class structure is much less like a lecture hall and much more like a conference meeting: everyone offers input and it s nearly impossible for you to remain silent and unengaged. I always thought being the bookkeeper would be a stressful job because of the amount of money you had to deal with and all of the things you had to keep track of it, not because of everyday office chaos. Our bookkeeper does an exceptional job and our principal agrees that she will probably never find someone to replace her, however with all of the other stresses I could understand our bookkeeper leaving. Social Entrepreneurship And Economic Growth In 1978, China started its economic reform, which opened the door for entrepreneurs to venture in the rural and agricultural sectors (Naughton, 1995). This decision has led hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and can be considered one of the most significant events in poverty reduction in the twentieth century (Urban Springerlink, 2010). Through the newly created firms, jobs were created and people were able to access a range of products and services which eventually effected the total household saving which increased by 10% within approximately four years of introducing the reform in addition to the contribution of these firms to China s economic growth (Naughton, 1995). In England, English literature has evolved through a number of versions due to the changes made to the policies and laws, religion, culture, and the monarchy. Henry VIII was born on June 28, 1491 by Elizabeth of York and Henry VII at Greenwich Palace (BBC News). In his early age, he was very interested in the arts and enjoyed reading literature. In 1509, Henry VIII succeeded his father Henry VII (1457 1509), but had originally become heir to the throne after his older brother, Prince Arthur, died in 1502 (Henry VIII (r.1509 1547)). The initial theory was that synthetic agents would essentially work more efficiently against the E coli as the product had been manufactured specifically to fight the harmful nature of the bacteria. However, after concluding the investigation, the data and evidence collected potentially disproves the initial hypothesis. Within tea tree oil, there are over 100 chemicals making the formula and seven of those chemicals are terpenes. (Science News, 2001) Terpenes are any of a large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants . (Merriam Webster, 2016) Tea tree oil is mostly composed of monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and their associated alcohols. Seemingly, when these terpenes are introduced to bacteria, they practically punch holes in to the bacteria, causing them to die. The primary theory behind the mechanism of action against bacteria is based off tea tree oil s hydrocarbon structure (structures that only consist of carbon and hydrogen) and associated lipophilicity (the ability of a chemical compound to dissolve in fats, oil, liquids, etc.) Hydrocarbons separate in to biological membranes and disrupt their vital functions, thus causing in this case, bacteria, to be affected and lose potential of causing any more damage or harm to an organism. (Carson, 2006) These studies help with understanding why the tree tea oil was the prime antibacterial agent, compared to its other natural and synthetic counterparts. Nonetheless, there is still the possibility of human error or unintentional mistakes that prevented the other antibacterial agents from performing

In the stories, Leslie in California, written by Andre Dubus, and The Story of an Hour, written by Kate Chopin, the characters in the stories are alike in some ways. Both Dubus and Chopin are an example of someone who didn t deserve what life threw at them. According to TheFamousPeople website, Dubus was married three times and had six children. He had four by his first wife, Patricia Lowe, and two by his last wife, Peggy Rambach. As for Chopin, she was the only one of her four siblings that lived past the age of twenty five. They both hit a rough patch in their lives at a young age. According to TheFamousPeople website, Andre Dubus enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps upon his graduation and served there for six years, eventually rising to the rank of captain. • 42. Becoming A Veterinarian Research Paper It is no secret that social media is seen as an outlet, where we can post our innermost thoughts and feelings, no matter how awful they are, and many times, without any consequence. The anonymity of social media bolsters some people to post rants, hate speech, and other offensive comments that they would almost certainly never say face to face. There have been multiple occasions throughout my life where I have witnessed people expressing such feelings on social media. However, there was one occasion in particular that has always, and will always, stick with me. A few years ago, during my sophomore year of high school, I was awarded being captain of my high school s cheerleading team. From my time as captain, I became friends with many of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, it is my ultimate dream to become a veterinarian. This career often sees many different types of situations. Sometimes, it may be blissful and enjoyable, like when you save an abused dog from potentially dying. Other times it can be heartbreaking and unpleasant. There is no simple rule for when to express feelings. Instead, we must exercise judgment. We have an ethical obligation to make thoughtful choices about whether, when, and how to express our emotions. At times, being a veterinarian, I may want to grieve with a family over the loss of their pet or even anger if I am unable to help an animal in need. However, displaying such emotions would be extremely inappropriate and unprofessional while simultaneously violating professional norms. Instead of revealing the emotions described above, a veterinarian should exhibit strength and courage. They should be able to remain positive during even the bleakest times. For example, if I were to discover that one of my client s pets had an incurable type of cancer and would require euthanasia, I would want to remain optimistic, while providing comfort to the family and the pet during such a hard time. If the family senses my sadness or anger, they are more inclined to feel the same way as me. With that being said, if I present a positive, relaxed mood, the family would be more slanted towards those feelings. Although I would be saddened by an event such as this, it would be quite unprofessional for me to do break into tears, despite my sadness. Everyone will have to deal with negative emotions during their career, at some point or another, and learning how to cope with these feelings and which are appropriate to express is crucial to our

These pandemics, as horrific and deadly as they are, have brought so much more positive advances to our health care system and how we prepare for biological threats. Although we are in the twenty first century and we have advanced so far in healthcare, there is still the possibility of a deadly pandemic. Many people may confuse Pandemic with Epidemic which can often times lead to being over prepared or under prepared. An epidemic as an infectious disease that quickly travels within a city, state, or country from person to person. An example of an epidemic would be SARS, which spread through many countries and killed roughly 800 people. On the other hand, Pandemics differ because the infectious disease is spread globally. A pandemic has a much higher infectious rate and an even larger death rate compared to an epidemic. The world has experienced a total of four pandemics in the twentieth century starting in 1918 until present. In 1918, the spanish flu caught worldwide attention when it infected close to half the population of the world, claiming more than 40 million lives. What made the spanish flu capable of infecting over a billion people was the ability to quickly transfer from person to person. At the time, world war 1 was happening and the mass activation and recruitment of troops to fight made the spread of the flu easy. The Asian flu of 1957 was second deadly pandemic to hit the

Inside the walls of American industrial companies, something unusual is going on: an all out search for new ways to charge more money without raising prices. Goodyear Tire Rubber Co. has chopped discounts to its biggest distributors, which had been taking advantage of favorable prices to undercut Goodyear elsewhere. The information goes to the company s tactical pricing group in Akron. The 10 person group tries to determine whether the competitor s offer is for real, using information gleaned from what it knows of the other company s strategy in that area, and more importantly, whether Goodyear could make money if it matches the offer. Goodyear has had a pricing team since 1998, but it didn t have final say on such deals until January. To really gain control of prices and increase them Goodyear had to crack down on the deep discounts it gives its largest distributors. The prices were so low that regional distributors were loading their warehouses and reselling the tires outside their own area. Even with the added cost of transportation, they were able to cut into Goodyear s own sales to its smaller distributors, forcing the street price of Goodyear s tires down. Many big distributors showed their displeasure by reducing their orders, cutting into Goodyear s revenues in the last two quarters. But Goodyear hasn t budged and said the move is paying off. In 2003, Lufthansa was facing intense competition from low cost airline on short haul domestic flights. During the implementation of change, there are bound to have resisters opposing the change. Communication is the crucial factor to convert the resisters with managers taking advantages of all the communication channels in the organisation to get the transformation effort across to all. It must be able to convey and explain the specifically how the vision will benefit them. 3.2.5Step 5. Empower others to act on the vision. In every change, there are bound to be obstacles. The first four steps encourage employees to accept changes. To further support change, obstacles that obstruct the way to attaining the vision should be eliminated. If the obstacles happen to be an employee, the organisation may well have to decide the option available or sever the relationship with the individual. 3.2.6Step 6. Generate short term wins Depending on the significance of change, some transformation of change might take years to before it is successfully implemented. In the case of Lufthansa, in order to top the low cost aviation industry, the duration might approximately take ten years. Attitude and motivation among employees might fade along the way. Soon, they will loose sight of the vision and become discouraged and disappointed therefore Lufthansa should set up multiple short term win situations in a major transformation change. 3.2.7Step 7. Consolidate gains and push for more change. It is important to note

Courage is when when somebody goes and helps an injured animal on the side of the road, or a lifeguard saves a drowning child from death. To me, courageis when someone goes out of their ways to do the right thing no matter how scary or difficult the task is. To prove this I read and analyzed the book Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. In the book there was one specific character that displayed the most courage and that was Jeremiah, Reuben, the main character s, father. Out of all of Jeremiah s acts of courage there were three that really stood out to me: Jeremiah resuscitates his newborn son, Reuben, after all the doctors gave up on him, Jeremiah rescues and protects his eldest son s...
