2. Broken Heart Syndrome Essay
Broken Heart Syndrome or Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy is a unique disease of the
cardiovascular system. It is a reversible form of Cardiomyopathy. This disease got
its name from the look of the left ventricular wall following changes when the
disease takes place. The changes of the wall are called apical akinesis and basal
hyperkansis. It is reported that the left ventricle resembles a round bottomed, narrow
necked Japanese pot that was used to catch octopi. Tako meaning octopus and tsubo
meaning trap. This disease is generally caused by emotional stress or physical stress.
Broken HeartSyndrome is noted to be more prevalent in women who are sixty years
of age or older. Most often it presents following the loss of a spouse or loved one, but
this disease has been known to occur after vigorous exercise, accidents or excessive
alcohol intake.
Characteristics of Broke Heart Syndrome include transient left ventricular wall
motion abnormalities, reversible ST segment abnormalities and cardiac enzyme
elevation. The cardiac enzymes are only mildly elevated in most cases. These
enzymes include Troponin levels, with a normal value of less than 0.02 and

with her boyfriend two hours prior to the chest pain starting. Vital signs were stable
with a blood pressure of 135/75 mmHg and heart rate of 92 beats per minute. An
electrocardiogram was obtained revealing ST elevation and depression. The
physician ordered for 300mg of aspirin and 5,000 U of Heparin to be given and
admitted the patient to the coronary intensive care unit
3. Examples Of Verbal Irony In The Cask Of The Amontillado
The Cask of the Amontillado
The Cask of the Amontillado uses irony throughout the story by dialogical
interactions between Montresor and Fortunato. In the event of Carnivale, Monstresor
detects Fortuno on the street, and offers Fortunato to go see the wine in the
catacombs. Fortunato insists to go see the catacombs of wine at once, but Montresor
plays worried about Fortunato s cough and alters his decision about the catacombs
and advises him not to go. Come, we will go back ere it is too late. Your cough (
61). This dialogical interaction of verbal irony impacts the story because it shifts the
climax of the story to the falling action. Montresor slowly shifts the climax of the
story to the falling action, because he slowly captivates
4. The Accumulation Of Greenhouse Gases
Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1Background
The accumulation of greenhouse gasses (GHGs) in the atmosphere has been a
debate topic among scientists since a long time ago as it contributes to the risen of
global surface temperature (Liddle and Lung, 2010). Carbon dioxide (CO2) has been
pointed as the main greenhouse gas which responsible for global warming and related
changes in climate. It has been increasing significantly over the past century,
compared to the pre industrial era (about 280 parts per million, or ppm). Empirical
studies which explicitly examine the link between population and pollution in a
systematic quantitative manner are very few in number (Cole and Neumayer, 2004).
Recently, some studies have dealt with the causality ... Show more content on

Indonesian population growth has been slowed from the past decade (BPS, 2016).
Indonesia approximately generated 215.6 terawatt hours in 2013 that was the biggest
electricity output in the ASEAN region (IEA, 2015b).
Global warming is the major issue that has severe consequences. For the sake of
the planet before 2050, it is vital to limit the impacts. In order to reduce the GHG
emissions and energy consumption, some countries have taken measures or
policies to increase the cleaner and renewable energy sources. Because of the
importance of reducing global warming, the Indonesian government has
committed reducing minimum 26% GHG emissions by 2020. Indonesian flagship
forest policy started since 2011 has lowered the GHG emissions from deforestation
by 1 2.5% over 4 years. This moratorium on new licenses to log or clear rainforest

fossil fuel to renewable energy sources, the target is 23% by 2030. The NEP also
states that coal will still provide 30% of the total primary energy supply (TPES) by
2030 (APERC, 2016). In the other hand, the projections of this plan, the

6. The Giver By Lois Lowry
The Marxist criticism is based on the socialist theories of Karl Marx and how the
readers must closely examine the dynamics of class as they attempt to understand
the works they read. In a world where there is no pain, no prejudice, no emotion,
and no detestation. Lois Lowry gives a vivid description of a community where
everything is equal, everyone is just as important as another, and life choices are
made by only one individual. In the book The giver by Lois Lowry, it expresses the
exact opposite of Marx s most important ideas which is a prime example of what
people will do if they were forced to live a certain way. In the book The Giver, it
tells the story of a perfect world. Everyone there is happy and feels no pain. As the
story progresses, the society appears more and more dystopian as the main goal of
the society is revealed, which is sameness.() The community is constantly
observed and controlled by every aspect in their lives. The committee assigns jobs,
housing, husbands, wives, and children. If found breaking any of these laws,
people are released , an indirect term for murdering. When Jonas is 12 years old,
he s chosen to be the community s Receiver of Memory. Once he enters into
training with an old man called The Giver , he begins to receive memories of the
real world that the rest of the community is hidden from. As the giver begins to show
Jonas the important memories, he learns not only of love and family, but also of
pain, war, and all the unhappy
7. Similarities Between Loki And The Joker
During Mythological times Loki, the god of mischief depicts an ancient version of
our more modern character The Joker from the DC Universe. Joker reimages our
interpretation Loki in many ways, for example both have an aptitude for causing
chaos, mayhem, and are a catalyst for change. Negative human emotion caused by
early psychological stress have a correlation with late behavior as can be observed
clearly in the Norse god Lokiand the Joker. When comparing both Loki and Joker
they do not seem to have the same motives in why they revel in our creation of
chaos, however they both express the same desire to cause such chaos. The Norse
trickster god, Loki is undoubtedly the most debated figure from Norse mythologyto
this day. Though he appears to be a scheming, mischievous deity who has no real
loyalties, scholars still explore what his purpose might have been in the ancient
stories (The Enigmatic Loki, Riley Winters 2014). Loki, the trickster god, had
always used his antics to fool with the other gods, but over the years many of the
Norse gods became angry with Loki for all the mischief he would keep inflicting
upon them and as such the gods began to hate Loki. As time went on Loki began to
grow increasingly evil with his constant berating of his fellow deities. He became
angry with all the gods due to their mutual hate of him. Finally, after eons of constant
hatred Loki arranged a scheme to murder the one of most loved and notable persons
in Norse mythology Balder, son of

Perishing, is an imaginative recount that relies on factual knowledge and experiences
being applied to an imagery role setting a picture and journey for the reader. I chose
to produce a text with a purpose of entertainment and with any luck leaving the reader
hungry, hence an imaginative recount. Perishing targeted a young audience of 10
years and beyond as at this age, children strive and are interested in food whilst over
exaggerating on petty things just like the actions of the main character. Similarly to
other recounts, the form which Perishing followed included an introduction, body
paragraphs and conclusion whilst succeeding the recount genre by answering the
basic questions of who, what, when, where and why. The needs and expectations
9. Radiation Is Natural Part Of The Earth
Radiation is natural part of the Earth. Radiation exists all around us, in the air, the
soil, and rock. Humans have lived, and thrived in a radioactive environment since
the beginning of time. Radon is one form of radiation, it s odorless, tasteless,
invisible, and it s in the air we breathe. Cosmic radiation is in space as heavily
charged particles and gamma rays. Terrestrial radiation is emitted naturally in the
form of heat from the Earth. Then we have manmade radiation. In 1895 Roentgen
discovered radiation in his laboratory, the medical benefits of this invisible source of
energy were experimented with in every direction from beauty, to health for many
years, and continues to this day. Radiation is a part of our environment both naturally
and unnaturally (Sources of Radiation Exposure. (2013, June 12). Retrieved from
http://epa.gov/radiation/sources/index.html). Just as the Earth has supplied us with
natural radiation, it has supplied us with ways in which to protect us through
nutrition. In the same way we can protect ourselves from natural radiation, we can
protect ourselves from unnatural radiation. Minerals, spices, herbs, seaweed, and
plants bind the radiation particles in our bodies and are removed naturally. Our
bodies are incredible healing machines, given the correct nutrition and avoiding foods
that impair the immune system, we are designed to heal and thrive in a world filled
with toxins and even radiation. Natural sources of radiation are everywhere.
10. Cost of Quality
Introduction
For every industry or business, to get increased sales and better name amongst
consumers and fellow companies it is important to maintain a level of quality.
Especially for the businesses engaged in export business has to sustain a high level of
quality to ensure better business globally. Generally quality control standards for
export are set strictly, as this business is also holds the prestige of the country, whose
company is doing the export. Export houses earn foreign exchange for the country, so
it becomes mandatory to have good quality control of their products. In the garment

Quality has to be taken care by the exporter, excuses are not entertained in
international market for negligence for low quality garments, new or existing
exporters for both it is mandatory to use design, technology and quality as major
upgradation tools.
. Apart from superior quality of the garment, its pricing, packaging, delivery, etc has
to be also taken care of.
. The garment shown in the catalogue should match with the final garment delivered.
. It is important to perform according to the promises given to the buyer, or else it
creates very bad impression and results in loss of business and reputation.
. In international market, quality reassurance is required at every point.
. Proper documentation and high standard labels on the garment are also important
aspects as these things also create good impression.
. Timely delivery of garments is as important as its quality.
. If your competitor has the better quality of garment in same pricing, it is better to
also enhance your garment quality.
. Before entering into international market, garment exporters have to carefully frame
out the quality standards, or else if anything goes wrong it could harm the
organization. And after that strictly follow it.
. The garment quality should match the samples shown during taking the orders.
. The garment exporters should know to negotiate a premium price after quality
assurance is done.
Quality is a multi dimensional aspect. There are many aspects of

The difference between the two methods is the initiation or act of death; euthanasia,
the doctor initiates death, whereas in physician assisted suicide, the patient willingly
takes the medication, therefore, committing suicide with the help of the doctor s
prescription (Marker 1). Because euthanasia and physician assisted suicide are
relatively similar in purpose and function, they will be used in correlation to each
other when discussing the use and concerns.
With states having the option to choose legalization, the few that have the law in
place limit its use to terminally ill patients (Ardelt 5). Terminal illness is defined as
a disease that cannot be cured or adequately treated and is expected to result in death
of the patient within a short time (Benjamin 4). Most recent is Vermont, which
legalized assisted suicide in May 2013, making legalization relevant to today s
society and issues with the possibility of more states legalizing these methods
(Benjamin 3). With millions of patients being diagnosed with terminal illnesses, such
as cancer, heart disease, and fatal accidents, both those patients and their families are
exposed to the compelling aspects of euthanasia and physician assisted suicide
(Swarte 2). Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide should not be legalized in the
United States due to safety concerns, economic challenges, and society s outlook on
these
12. Analysis Of Norman Macford s A River Runs Through It
A River Runs Through It The natural world is unparalleled in its power to make one
deeply contemplative, introspective, and observant of the surrounding universe.
Norman Maclean testifies to this power in his novella, A River Runs Through It.
Through his eulogy to the Blackfoot river, Norman Maclean captures his journey
from boy to man through his personal and visceral connection to the Blackfoot.
Norman s writing encapsulates his own coming of age through the symbolism and
parallels he draws between himself and the river. In contrast, Robert Redford s movie
adaptation focuses directly on the interpersonal relationships Norman develops
throughout his life and how those relationships shape his character and choices.
Although Redford... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In saying he knows how the river was made, Norman demonstrates his own self
awareness and understanding of himself. He knows who he is because his life and
memories are the river. Building on the theme of identity, Maclean writes
extensively on the geological history of the river. He explains the formation of it
through glacial movement, its deposition patterns, and exact meander pattern, as
well as the location and types of fishing pools (73). Making the geology a cynosure
of his work again demonstrates Norman s dedication to understanding the historical
elements that formed its identity. Then, extrapolating this to himself, he reinforces
the idea that having a deep understanding of the river s formation allows him to
better understand his own. Maclean also explains his family dynamic through the
symbolism of fly fishing on the river. He is haunted by waters, (119) because they
contain the memories and words of everyone Maclean has ever connected with and
interacted with he even refers to it as my family s river (76). Which illustrates
Maclean s deep connection to the river as he would be unable to comprehend the
meaning of his own life without it. The deepest familial moments, such as Norman
offering Paul help, discussing life plans, or Norman finding common ground with his
father, all occur while fishing on the Blackfoot. Whenever he is at the river, he cannot
escape thinking about his

happy she is to be free from his influence when she thinks to herself, there would be
no one to live for during those coming years; she would live for herself. (Chopin).
She breaks the restraints that her husband put on her as she comprehends that she
can live for herself instead of living the life that her husband wants her to

herself from having to do whatever her husband deems appropriate. It was this
revelation that finally killed her at the end of the story. Realizing that she had finally
gained that true freedom from her husband and having that freedom taken away from
her, along with the fact that she still loved her husband but was at peace with his
death, was too much to bear, and the pain of it ended up killing
14. Jeffersonian Democracy And Jacksonian Democracy
The Jeffersonian era and the Democratic Republican Party lasted from the early
1800 s to the late 1820 s; this era was known as the Era of Good Feelings because
of the single party domination by the Democratic Republicans, which resulted in
political cooperativeness. Following the Jeffersonian era was the Age of Jackson.
The Jacksonian era, also referred to as Jacksonian democracy, lasted from the time the
Jeffersonian democracyended to about 1840. During this time, though, there was a
two party system, consisting of the Democrat Party and the Whig Party. Jackson
personally believed he was carrying on Jeffersonian tradition through his ideals and
actions (GetAFive 2017); although there were some noticeable changes from
Jeffersonian democracy to Jacksonian democracy, Andrew and his successors ruled
with many of the same ideologies from the preceding democracy. Jacksonian
democracy, including both ideologies and actions, was a continuity of Jeffersonian
democracy socially, through the treatment of Natives and slaves, economically,
through the emergence of industrialization and attitudes toward the National Bank,
and politically, through the representation of the lower classes. From a social
viewpoint, there were several groups, including Natives and slaves, that faced unjust
actions by both the Jeffersonian and Jacksonian democracies. Natives were
negatively impacted by the democracies and peoples of both eras, facing poor
treatment and expulsion from their native lands.

delivery of public services. The City Council members try to concentrate on policy
issues that are responsive to those throughout the community. The City Council also
focuses on the communities goals, projects throughout the city, and some long term
factors such as community growth, land development and many other factors that
could be affected by past policies or ordinances. The City Council members affect
policy in the city by helping to make decisions on what would be good for the city
as a whole, and trying to protect everyone s rights and wishes at the same time. The
Mayor in Council Manager communities plays a key role . The mayor is
responsible for sharing views of the city s citizens, forming policies and
interpreting them to the public, he or she is also a ceremonial leader. The mayor
shows up at council meetings to assist the council in setting goals, advocating

16. The Real Estate Market Is Important
Introduction
In this modern age we are all greatly affected by the core economic problem, as we
know it. Scarceness of resources is the main economic issue, this is made worse by
the world s rapidly expanding population, Resources are scarce but wants are infinite
(Anderton, 2008 pg. 2). In this essay, we are going to look into the real estate
business, and specifically in London. This will enable us to understand the demand,
supply and elasticity determinants in this market.
Real estate market is very important, as housing is probably a person s biggest
purchase, which can represent the consumer s wealth. Also, it is important, as
changes in property prices affect the rest of the economy enormously.

This is due to the fact that these properties represent a secure shelter for the
population, which is considered a basic human need. However the housing market
is believed to provide normal goods , meaning that as people s income increases so
does their demand for housing (Masron, 2013). Due to the socioeconomic
background of a large portion of the population a large segment of the market would
be considered a highly differentiated product. Location of the property within London
tends to play a large part of the product s differentiation, as some areas are more
desirable than others.
There are main factors that affect the real estate in London, which will greatly
influence supply and demand. One of the factors that may affect supply is the lack
of free land in desirable areas; this affects both residential and commercial
properties alike. However, suppliers still tend to provide a large number of
properties each year. During the period of June 2013 and June 2014 there was around
18,900 new buildings completed as provided by the UK government (Government
stats, 2014). A factor that may affect demand is the rapid increase in population due
to both immigration and migration; with the increase in population there is an
increasing number of businesses looking for commercial property.
Supply in the market
Supply conditions in the London real estate market is similar to the rest of the UK.

I have learned plenty throughout the years of what it takes to become an Athletic

especially for this essay. First of all, what i want to know is what it takes to become
an athletic trainer, not only book wise but characteristics wise. I know to officially

19. Characteristics Of A Great Teacher
What Makes A Great Teacher
A world without education is a world without knowledge. Teachers play a significant
role in educating the uneducated because it is a rewarding profession. However, it
can only be done if there is dedication, passion, and determination. These are the key
factors that separate a great teacher from a mediocre teacher. A mediocre teacher
enjoys his or her work and is satisfied with their work. Meanwhile a great teacher is
constantly adding and changing their teaching methods to accommodate the needs of
each student. One of the articles that we have read over the course of this semester,
states, ...Great teachers, he concluded, constantly reevaluate what they are doing
(Amanda and Ripley). When I was doing my research a common theme that came up
was the fact that teacher need to constantly evaluate their teaching methods. It is
crucial for teachers to constantly reevaluate their methods and to accommodate the
new changes that are constantly occurring in the world. For example as technology
advances teachers need to have the skills to add technology into their teaching
methods.
QUALITIES OF A GOOD TEACHER
Along with my scholarly research articles, I had the opportunity to interview two of
my former high school teachers Mike Kelly, and Alison Alvarez. Through the
interviews, I was able to understand what it is like to be a teacher from their point
of view and I was able to learn the qualities that makes a successful teacher. Mrs.

For my second observation I went back to my elementary school from when I was

Mrs. McFarland. It was a rainy day so the lesson was held in the cafeteria. I
observed Mrs. McFarland teach the first lesson of basketball to her class, before
class she told me that this would be the first lesson of a 6 part lesson. When the
students walked into the cafeteria they immediately sat down in their assigned spots
on the floor, Mrs. McFarland stood up at the front of the room by the stage area and
all the students. When all the students were seated Mrs. McFarland gave a very brief
explanation on what the students would be doing that day and then they started with
a warm up. During the warm up the students started out galloping around the room to
music and when the music stop she would shout of jumping jacks and the students
would do jumping jacks until the music came back on. They did this warm up for
about 5 minutes and then went back to their spots and sat down. Mrs. McFarland
went back to the front of the cafeteria and began to talk to the students about what
they would be doing. She gave a demonstration of the triple threatposition and then
asked the students some questions about what they saw her just do. Next, she had the
children grab their our balls and come back to their spotso that they could practice
some ballhandling drills. They used their finger tips to ping pong the ball from hand

21. Investigating The Bonding Of A Carbohydrate
Carbohydrate Analysis
Introduction and Purpose Carbohydrates are organic compounds that consist of
carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen. There are four different ways that carbohydrates
can be classified: monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides.
Monosaccharides are the simplest sugars. They are aliphatic aldehydes or ketones
and most have five or six carbon atoms. Oligosaccharides are two monosaccharides
linked together by the elimination of a water molecule which allows the glycosidic
bond can form. Polysaccharides contain more than one glycosidic bond and are the
heaviest and most prominent natural forms of carbohydrates (Mcclemmon).
Carbohydrates also have the potential to be reducing sugars. This means they have a
free aldehyde or ketone group that is capable of acting as a reducing agent. All
monosaccharides are reducing sugars and the other forms have the potential to be
one. There are several different ways to identify the bonding of a carbohydrate in the
lab. In this lab, combinations of several different tests were used in order to
determine which functional groups were present. Benedict s and Barfoed s tests both
test for the presence of a reducing sugar. Benedict s reagent produces a red
precipitate when heated in a the presence of a reducing sugar. Barfoed s reagent
tests for reducing sugar as well, but does not test for it in disaccharides, so this test is
used to distinguish between monosaccharides and disaccharides. Disaccharides are
not oxidized

government to have a substantial amount of surveillance of the internetto monitor
terrorists and people seeking to cause harm, but the extent the US government

23. Sunset Song Analysis
Sunset Song is one of the most revered and acclaimed Scottish novels of the 20th
century, dealing with subjects such as sexuality or violence in a way that was not
common at the time. The novel focuses on the life of Chris Guthrie, a young woman
living in rural Scotland who goes through many adversities related to family, farming
life, and love. War is an important background factor to take into account as well.
This question raises various issues, in terms of the plot itself, and how Chris evolves
throughout the story, and how her opinion and feelings about the land change. She is
seemingly uninterested in the family s way of living at the beginning of the novel,
although she always seems more compliant than her brother, who revolts several
time against his father s authority, and eventually leaves the farm in favour of
Argentina, accompanied by his young bride Molly. We must, however, take into
consideration the way the novel does not start with the Guthrie s story, but rather
with a tale of myths, and battles. This seems to give the reader a sense of wonder,
as if they were reading about something almost mystical, divine. This impression
quickly changes, as they are introduced to this family, who s members are unhappy,
some to the extreme of deciding on taking their life and others . Such is the example
of Chris mother who, after being raped by her own husband, and bearing two more
unwanted children, is driven by her own misery to take her life and the twins . This
seems to present the reader with the harsh reality the characters face, even with the
poetic narrative softening things up.
Throughout the course of the novel, the narrative voice seems to be even more
mystical when it is focused on Scotland, especially Aberdeenshire, and the land itself,
making the reader feel as though they were there, contemplating something magical.
Once again, the events that take place bring them back into this cruel reality where
they find the father trying to convince Chris to lay with him, but eventually fails,
since he is bedridden because of a stroke he had. Here and many other times it is
obvious the main character struggles with the idea of Kinraddie, and the farm, but this
is usually related to family issues.
24. Our Social And Private Values Impact Our Lives
Welcome to planet Earth, here on earth things are very differently than they are on
Procyon A and B. Values and attitudes are what guide our day to day decisions on
every aspect of our lives. It is very important to understand how our social and
private values impact our everyday lives. I am going to tell you how we manage to
stay organized here on earth. Some time ago, a man named Shalom H Schwartz came
up with a theory on humanvalues which became known as The Schwartz Theory. The
Schwartz Theory is something which explains how us humans experience every day
in our lives. This theory proposes various human types made up of what he called
Bipolar Dimensionwhich is then split up into 4 categories however, I will only
mention the First and Second Bipolar Dimension below for now as they are most
relatable ones.
The First Bipolar Dimension includes Self Enhancement , which is the pursuit of
one s own interests and relative success as the motivation that makes us humans feel
good about ourselves. It is like a daily competition with ourselves and if that goal
isn t achieved it tends to create in us feeling of a personal failure. Another category
included in the first dimension is called Self Transcendence and it is measured by
how far we come in our spiritual journey transcending our physical needs. We
humans, must sometimes take time to ourselves thought the day to put our mind and
body in a calm state.
We sometimes do this using various

Chemical Reaction and the PH Scale Chemical reactions are the heart of chemistry.
People have always known that they exist. The Ancient Greeks were the firsts to
speculate on the composition of matter. They thought that it was possible that
individual particles made up matter. As you might imagine, it s useful to be able to
measure the acidity of solutions. Scientists have come up with the pH scale for
determining the concentration of acid in a solution so we can distinguish between
solutions with varying acidity. A Chemical reactionis the outcome of two or more

About 108 billion people have been introduced to our beautifully diverse world.
Few of these people have the impact to change how others will see the world. One
of the most powerful things in life is true passion and when one lets their passion
shine, it can change the world. I have been influenced by many people in history, but
three people in particular stand out to me, as people who inspired others from a place
of pure passion. Martha Graham, Beethoven, and Jackie Robinsonare all figures in
history that have followed their passions and made a lasting impression on everyone
who has come after them. I would love to dancewith all of these amazing figures

These historical figures were able to open so many doors that have healed
multitudes of people. I would have loved the opportunity to intertwine all of these
stories together, while showing the world who we are. I will continue to push
myself as a dancer and follow my heart, just like they did. They didn t see any

some of the most influential people to ever walk the world. By combining the
strengths of these great influences, my hope would be to empower others to follow

27. The Night Circus Research Paper
Why would a person fall in love with their life long adversary? That is the case
between Celia and Marco in The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, but Celia and
Marco do not realize the consequences. Many of their coworkers at the circus die
because of their reckless relationship. Also, Celia and Marco put the competition, the
circus, in jeopardy because their relationship can ruin the circus. The novel The Night
Circus has three essential searches, and those are the search for acceptance, affection,
and answers в є (Alliteration). Marco and Bailey are both on separate searches for
acceptance. They are on different searches, but they both want to be accepted because

Both of them question the mysteriousness of the circus, so they have become
serious. Poppet is able to gaze into the future when she looks at people. Poppet uses
that information that she collects to find answers to who is going be in the circus
in the future. Tara is also curious about the circus, but for another reason. She does
her best to explain her concern. That there is more going on with the circus than
most people are privy to (Morgenstern 262). The book then continues to explain
Tara s skepticism, and then Tara decides to investigate. Poppet and Tara both been
affected by their investigations of the circus. Poppet wants to find more answers
to not be depressed, but she does not like that she invades people s privacy to get
her answers. Tara s search affected her way differently than Poppet s, and Tara s
search lead to her being careless. Her carelessness eventually led to her demise
because she was investigating and then got hit by a train. Poppet and Tara Burgess
are two of the large amount of people who are on a search for answers.
The search for acceptance, affection, and answers are all key parts to The Night
Circus. All of those searches were eventually problematic because of Celia and
Marco s relationship. Any of those searches should not allow you to fall in love with a
life long adversary.

28. The Four Freedoms Speech
On June 6, 1941, United States President Franklin Delano Roosevelt made a
speech that has since been known as The Four Freedoms Speech. In this speech, he
outlines four freedoms he hopes every person in the world will obtain in the
future. He identifies the four freedoms as the following: ...Freedom of speech and
expression everywhere in the world... freedom of every person to worship God in
his own way everywhere in the world... freedom from want which, translated into
world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a
healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants everywhere in the world... freedom from
fear which, translated into world terms, means a world wide reduction of
armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in
a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor anywhere
in the world. Over 75 years later, we still do not have the freedoms President
Roosevelt wished upon us. A specific freedom that still does not exist is economic
understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its
inhabitants. There are still dozens of poverty stricken countries, known as Heavily
Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC). These are countries that have a national debt that is
unmanageable with traditional manners alone. The good news is that the Heavily
Indebted Poor Countries Initiative began in 1996 to address this issue. The World
Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMC), and other creditors teamed up to
reduce the debt of 36 countries that met strict criteria. In order to be considered for
assistance, countries must have an unsustainable amount of debt, be eligible for
interest free loans from the World Bank s International Development Agency, have a
good track record of reform through World Bank supported programs, and have
completed a Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP). After a country shows that
they have met this criteria and continues to meet it and follow through with with
their strategy, then they are deemed capable of earning their complete amount of
debt relief funds. As of 2015, all 36 of the heavily indebted poor countries have
received their full amount of debt relief they were

Helping...
Altruism and prosocial behavior are linked with helping others. This can be seen in
all aspects of life. For instance, young children helping each other when they fall,
adolescents helping each other with schoolwork, and adults helping one another at
work. To develop further, prosocial behavior and altruismcan first be highly illustrated
in children. Children are taught to help one another and this behavior grows with the
child to their adulthood; therefore, people are taught to act in a caring manner
towards those who need help.
Although prosocial behavior and altruisms definitions are very similar, they do have
some differences. To define prosocial behavior one has to look at an individual s
actions in certain situations that evolve helping, and the underlying drive for why the
person is doing so; therefore, it is an action that helps another person but does not
deliver any benefits to the person acting with prosocial behavior. Altruism is
measured in the same way that prosocial behavior is, but its intention is much
different. Altruism has somewhat of a hidden agenda; people helping people for a
personal gain. Social psychologists have studied these social phenomena and its
importance. They have gained insight as to what are the key motivations, the
primitive emotions involved, as well as furthering these behaviors into subcategories.
Prosocial Behavior Prosocial behavior, the act of helping with no personal gain, is
displayed in everyday life, without much
32. Social Responsibility And Its Impact On Society
In today s economy, consumers are more inclined to shop at their local big box
retailer where they can get plenty of selection at low prices instead of limited
products and market rates. Being a mid sized local grocery has its challenges when
competing with these national chains, and Company Q is no different. Locally
owned and operated businesses are an essential part of today s society. Too often
companies stress the quantity of profits over the quality of products. Not only do
these kinds of choices belay negative social responsibility, this type of attitude can
damage a growing business s reputation. Company Q s lack of concern for the
underlying welfare of some of its primary stakeholders shows an attitude of
impartiality towards the bottom line. Social responsibility is no longer expressed by
how much money a company donates to charity, but by their overall participation in
the community to enrich the quality of citizen s lives.
In the past, businesses primarily concerned themselves with the economic results of
their decisions. Company Q s attitude toward social responsibility is more in line with
the greedy shareholder model than that of the cooperating stakeholder model. The
shareholder model ensures that the investors and owners get the lion s share of the
profits, whereas the stakeholder focuses on the feasibility of success to satisfy its
stockholders. In this particular situation, the primary stakeholders are namely loyal
customers, employees and the local

There have been many experiments done about the height of cookies when the
number of eggs are changed. Most commonly, a cookie recipe will have only 1 egg

eggs to put in there. If too many or too little eggs are put in the cookies then they
could not be edible by their standards and could cause stress because they cannot

According to FAA Order 5300, airports may submit Modifications of Standard
(MOS) requests for review of non standard compliance items as long as safety is
not compromised . Making modification would be much less expensive and less
time consuming for the airports that are able to do them. Some design standards to
allow for safe use of the A380 include blast pad dimensions to be 250 x 400 feet (
Airbus a380 airfield, 2011).
Many smaller airports will not be able to fit the larger airbus and the A380 will be
limited to only the large, hub airports better able to accommodate them. Smaller
airports may have to be used as feeder airports that will connect passengers to the
large airports and the A380s. This could be a problem of increased congestion with
the existing slot system if more connecting flights are needed and there are no more
gates available or slot time (Ruehle, Goetsch, Koch, 2006).
At this time intercontinental routes use the hub and spoke system. This method
allows airlines to bundle an increased number of passengers on the flights. The
draw back is that it also leads to a more complex feeder flight schedule. Those
airports with the facilities and room to support the airbuses would then become hubs
for those aircraft flights. To be profitable and fill enough seats, airports with the most
potential passengers would need to be paired for flights. Any delay or cancellation
would have a domino effect, costing more

Since its inception, the followers of Islam have grown exponentially, spreading the

religions in the world by attracting millions of followers who continue to adhere to
the ancient practices outlined in the Qur an. Unfortunately, these practices are often
looked down upon by non Muslimpeople and considered to be symbolic of terrorism
or of the fundamentalist side of the religion. This instance can be observed largely in
France as a result of secularism that has been deeply rooted in the country for
generations. The most controversial practice of Islamtoday is Islamic dress. Women

Western feminists have taken the issue into their own hands by attempting to outlaw
Muslim headscarves, even though a majority of Muslim women have chosen to wear

policies and government for hundreds of years, many French citizens have a negative
opinion of Muslim immigrants, believing that Muslim immigrants are a danger to
French secularism. Although the Muslim population has expanded and rooted itself
into French society, many native French citizens believe that Muslim immigrants
cannot truly be considered French. This opinion is false, however, seeing as
thousands of Muslim immigrants still identify as French citizens while observing
Islamic traditions. Despite the numerous attempts to eliminate the tradition of
wearing hijabs, burqas, and niqabs, Muslim women can still identify as culturally
French without risking the secularity of

The purpose of this paper is to identify my personal educational philosophy. Every

environment that fosters mental, emotional, social, and physical development. It is
my duty as a health and physical educator to provide an environment conducive to
learningthat is relevant, engaging, and a challenging experience for all my students
despite their physical abilities. A monist views the mind and body as one. As the
book states, physical activity is equally as important as intellectual activity pertaining
to the mind and body relationship (Wuest Fisette, 2012).The purpose of physical
educationis to teach the whole student, not just their body. It is my belief that we
learn from our personal experiences. I am firm believer in John Dewey s approach
that we learn by doing . Therefore, after reading the text my professional philosophy

the text, a pragmatist believes that experiences not ideals or realities are the basis of

How David Fincher uses colour in the film Fight Club and how this is used to
influence the viewer.
Colour in film is very important, it can change the mood of the film, influence
viewers emotions as they watch, can be used as symbolism and can even teach the
viewer in a very short time to expect something to happen when a certain colour is
shown. The Director of Fight club and other films such as Se7en and the Girl with the
Dragon tattoo, David Fincher is very well known for working closely with the
cinematographer and his post production team to tightly control the colour in his
films and being quite innovative in his techniques to achieve better quality of colour

David Fincher, the director of Fight Club is well known for the certain look of his

Argentina, as the second largest country in Latin America, contains approximately 42

Jewish community in the region. From unrestricted immigration policies to the
quartering of Nazi criminals in Argentina, there had been a wide spectrum of events
that Argentinas Jewshave endured. They have persevered through both seasons of
coexistence and seasons of heightened anti Semitism prejudice, discrimination and
hatred of Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group. It all began in 1492
when Father Tomas de Torquemada expelled all Jews from Spain due to the fear of
Judaisminfluencing new Christian converts in Spain. Facing religious oppression,
they were forced to flee, and many consequently landed in Argentina. These secret
Jews (also known as conversos) fused into the Argentine population, many forsaking
Judaism altogether, leaving a small amount of Jews left in Argentina by the mid 1800
