Born on April 23, 1813 in Brandon Vermont, Stephen A Douglas went on and made
something out of his life. Douglas, also known as the Little Giant standing at 5 feet
4 inches tall, had huge political ambitions. Douglas attended preparatory school,
and after graduating learned the trade of cabinetmaking. He later moved to New
York and started to farm. In New York, he started to study law at Canandaigua
Academy. Then moved to Ohio, later he found himself in Westchester, Illinois his
final settling place and he continued to practice law and started to teach. He
married a wealthy socialite Martha Martin who died in the childbirth of her second
son. Later Mr. Martin passed and Martha and Stephen received land, slaves and a
lot of wealth. He tended to his plantations from afar, because of his bigger ambitions

On the 9th of March, I went to Siren s Rocks to investigate the community pattern,
also called zonation, within the bounds of Island Bay s Wellington Ecological
Marine Reserve. The ecosystem of Taputeranga Marine Reserve takes the full impact
of the Southern ocean swells. This Reserve is influenced by three different oceanic
currents. This is an abiotic factor. The currents impact helps shape the rocky shoreline
into the ecological community of different species of shore life into a pattern of
different zones (zonation).
Another abiotic factor that helps the formations of different zones would be the tidal
movement (aerial exposure) effecting the sea life shore community. The tidal zones
we found at Siren s Rocks are the sublittoral zone, low tide, mid tide, high tide and
supralittoral zone. These are all on the data recorded by us at the rocky shore we
researched.
The investigation of these tidal zones showed that most of the organisms are not
evenly distributed. The tidal organisms are often hidden in cracks, shades and gullies
to prevent them from being dislodged by the wave action or desiccation.
One of the organisms I have chosen, the Red Waratah anemone (Actinia tenebrosa)
was found in the mid tide zone and the low tide zone. This anemone is the main prey
of the predator Grey side gilled sea slug, which is the other organism I have chosen,

Self identity is molded as a young age, but continues to change as we get older.
This is something that we all do not realize. During a person s lifetime many of us
pause to think what influence a person s identity. What makes us the individual
that we are? I would say that it is our home, where we live with our parents and
siblings. Why do we have trust in certain things? Why do we believe the way we
do? I would say it is based on the way we were taught and raised a set of opinions
that have been instilled in a person since they were young. I would say that their
three great influences in my life that makes me who I am today my parents, my

Dana feels that it was a mistake on his part and that It was the breaking of an
unspoken agreement... (239). Self inflicted wounds for Dana at the beginning of the
novel might have been an improbability but as the story progresses it become an
almost certainty, this is one reason why this wound was so significant for Dana, the

Becoming A Diesel Mechanic Is Not An Easy Task
My mission statement for myself is very simple. I will finish my college degree
and my next associate s degree at Vincennes University. While I am college, I am
going to be working part time. While working, I will be saving money each month
and putting that money into a saving account. When I am a couple months from
graduating, I will begin looking for job near my hometown. I would prefer to work
in a diesel technician shop in Jackson County, Indiana. I then will use my savings to
make a down payment on a house for my wife and I. We will then start working on

of the American Revolution and the start of the Civil War were constantly shifting.
The country was founded with the everlasting ideals of economic opportunity,
equality, and liberty for all, and compared to Great Britain after independence,
America had greater religious freedom and social mobility. In spite of this, numerous
groups were excluded from the full extent of these rights and privileges especially
women. After the American Revolutiona belief regarding the roles of women
emerged and came to be known as republican motherhood, which centered around
the belief that women had the primary responsibility of raising their children to
uphold the values of republicanism so they could be valuable members of the newly
formed American republic. A complementing set of beliefs were instilled into
American society between the period of 1820 to 1860, the cult of domesticity, which
asserted that women were solely to serve as wives, mothers, and housekeepers who
were concerned with only domestic affairs. While the principles brought forth by the
cult of domesticity and the ideas of republican motherhood were accepted by many,
much of what they embodied was unachievable for women of lower economic
standing due to social oppression that handicapped their opportunities, especially
