Radio Frequency Identification ( Rfid ) Technology Essay
Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is used to electronically identify, track, and store
information on a tag. Its main components are a tag, reader, and a database. It is used by all levels of
government in various well known areas, such as logistics support for the military and highway tolls.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the use of this technology by the United States Federal
government and some of its major agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the
Department of Defense, the Department of State, and Social Security Administration. There are more
institutions within the Federal government that already use or are strongly considering implementing
RFID technology, but have not yet done so for a number of reasons, such as lack of funding, privacy
or security concerns. The main benefits and threats of this technology will be discussed for the
institutions listed.
Keywords: RFID, technology, United States, Federal Government All levels of the United States
government, from federal to local, use radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, and it is
applied in various ways. The benefits of this technology are convenience, speed, effective data
management, and security. The negative impacts are related to security, privacy concerns, and costs of
implementation. In this paper, the use of RFID technology by the Department of Defense, the
Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, and Social Security Administration

Gender Inequality And Gender Equality
Gender inequality is the state in which access to rights or opportunities is affected by gender. Gender
inequality is an issue not just nationally but globally. This issue is portrayed by the mistreating of
individuals, mainly women, and not valuing everyone as one. This presentation will illustrate the
exploration of gender equality, propose a solution and why that solution will produce a better future
for a better world.
Gender inequality is a very important issue common in our world today that refers to unequal
treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially
constructed gender roles as well as biologically through chromosomes, brain structure, and hormonal
differences. Gender inequality stems from distinctions, whether empirically grounded or socially
constructed. The only differences that men and women behold is their appearance and some organs.
Women have 1 brain and 1 heart which is the same as men but are still dehumanised. If our world
continues to carry out gender inequality, women won t have a voice to contribute to our society and
men will have the final choice and the freedom of speech. Out of the seven deadly sins, two of the
seven occur the most; Pride and Envy. Pride is shown by the man who thinks they re superior to
women. This is sometimes a result from Envy. Envy is seen when the man suffers from jealousy about
the woman and her possessions. He then treats her less than as a sign of Envy/Jealousy. Women

The Most Important Parts Of Any Game
Paintball is a game unlike any other I have ever experienced. To play well, one must have several
important skills. When playing as a member of a team, you must learn to communicate well with your
team. When playing a game, if someone tries to be the superhero and play aggressively, taking out all
other opponents, they won t get very far. The team wouldn t work well together, and most likely lose
the game. Teamwork is one of the most important parts of any game, especially paintball.[

Women In The 1800 s
In the early 1800 s, many of the women in the United States were coming to realize that they wanted
to obtain more rights. The male gender had way more rights than women, and they had run more
things than women. Finally, women began to come forward to voice their opinions about how men
and women are made to be equal; no less, no more. It was now time for women to go out and pursue
whatever they wanted to pursue and not have to worry about the fact that they are females or that they
are weaker or have less education than a man. The Seneca Falls Convention would soon be one of the
biggest victories for women s rights. The Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 was the first women s
rights convention in American history. This convention was a huge ... Show more content on

The Indians were forced to leave their homes and even families to move to the west, which is now
known as Oklahoma. The trail was not a specific road, trail, route, or river that was traveled. Instead,
the Indians traveled on different routes to get to their destination in Oklahoma. Some of the Indians
traveled upriver on steamboats, and some of the Indians even got into large caravans that carried
wagons full of their belongings and labor animals. A majority of the Indians traveled through Arkansas
to arrive in Oklahoma. Other Indian tribes and regular people would leave food, supplies and firewood
along the way to help the Indians on their treacherous journey to the west. Not only was the route a
long one, but the weather was very harsh. It was often freezing in the winter and very dry and boiling
during the summer. This led to a high mortality rate in the Indian tribes because the weather was so
harsh. Additionally, many of the Indians did not make it to Oklahoma due to the deadly diseases such

Advantages Of Electric Fly Killers
How effective are electric fly killers in killing flying insects?
Nowadays, there are always flying insects that are wandering around in a certain place and people
seem to be having a very hard time catching them and killing them at the same time. These flies are a
nuisance to every person because nobody would want to have flies in the house. People would find
these flying insects flying around mostly in their homes, however, they cannot seem to find the source
of this problem. This has occurred every year and yet, people could not find the source of these
problems. Some factors that could be affecting this problem is the change in weather of every month
or season, things that are dirty that may attract flies, etc. The magnitude of this problem may increase
if a solution is not implemented to solve this problem as soon as possible.
Application/Solution
There are different kinds of applications or solutions to this issue, ... Show more content on

The first one is that obviously, electric fly killers eliminate lots of flying insects right away, and it
greatly reduces the insect population around the area. There might be piles and piles of insects within
a few days, and while eventually there will be lesser insects, there is no denying that electric fly killers
play a huge impact on solving this issue. The second benefit is that similarly, electric fly killers allow
people to eliminate flying insects with few chemicals and not much personal involvement. There is no
health risk when it does not come to handling the electric fly killers, nor there any risk of disturbing or
a nest or facing an insect that people fear. Electric fly killers are out of the way and it has limited
personal involvement, so people would not need to involve in anything when it comes to using electric
fly killers. For many people, this is enough to make these devices a popular choice for people that
think of flies as a nuisance to

Pain And Its Effects On Pain
Pain
The International Association for the Study of Pain defines pain as an unpleasant sensory and
emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such
damage (1979). Pain is actually the culprit behind warranting a visit to a physician office for many
people (Besson, 1999). Notoriously unpleasant, pain could also pose a threat as both a psychological
and economic burden (Phillips, 2006). Sometimes pain does happen without any damage of tissue or
any likely diseased state. The reasons for such pain are poorly understood and the term used to
describe such type of pain is psychogenic pain . Also, the loss of productivity and daily activity due to
pain is also significant. Pain engulfs a trillion dollars of GDP for lost work time and disability
payments (Melnikova, 2010). Untreated pain not only impacts a person suffering from pain but also
impacts their whole family. A person s quality of life is negatively impacted by pain and it diminishes
their ability to concentrate, work, exercise, socialize, perform daily routines, and sleep. All of these
negative impacts ultimately lead to much more severe behavioral effects such as depression,
aggression, mood alterations, isolation, and loss of self esteem, which pose a great threat to human
society.
Types of pain:
Based on the duration of persistence, pain is often divided into two broad categories as mentioned
below.
Acute pain:
Acute pain is often a result of injury or

Reasons Why Nazis Came to Power in 1933
Reasons Why Nazis Came to Power in 1933 There are several factors that enabled the Nazi party, with
Hitler as its leader, was able to come to power in Germany in 1933. There are 5 main reasons involved
history, economics, politics and the personality of Hitler. The main political events occurred in 1923
and 1933. The Treaty of Versailles was one of the most important causes that led to Hitler s rise in
Germany. From the German point of view the treaty was incredibly harsh and devastating for
Germany. The treaty contained five major points that would be Germany s demise. Germany was
reduced severely as a military power. Due to this the country also had a huge problem in dealing with

The Saar Coalmines made a lot of money, and were very profitable to Germany. A big industry had
been taken away from Germany. All three of these points, accepting the blame for the war,
disarmament and the lost of the territory made the country feel weak. It was a total humiliation to the
Germans and to the man in the army at that time, Hitler. All of Germany s overseas colonies were
given to the victors as mandates, or territories held in trust until they were ready for independence.
The other terms of the treaty was the war reparations that Germany was forced to pay. The sum of this
was £6,6oo million. Germany felt this was far too much. The lost of Germany s territory e.g. the Saar
coalfields and other territories made it harder for Germany to pay the reparations. It caused a
tremendous economic problems in Germany. The German people were starving and living in poverty.
This soon caused inflation that sprouted to hyperinflation and so the Economic depression of the 1920
´s in Germany occurred. This is an ongoing long term cause was the heart itself of many more causes
in the rise of Hitler. This an minor reason why the Nazi rise in power because one of their ideas is to
over turn the Treaty of Versailles and the anti Versailles attitude in Germany help put Nazi into power.

(MARY POOVEY) DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS READING OF FANNY amp;#8217;S ROLE IN
amp;#8216;MANSFIELD PARK amp;#8217;
Mansfield Park has sometimes been considered as atypical of Jane Austen as being solemn and
moralistic. Poor Fanny Price is brought up at Mansfield Park with her uncle and aunt. Where only her
cousin Edmund helps her with the difficulties she suffers from the rest of the family, and from her own
fearfulness and timidity. When the sophisticated Crawfords (Henry and Mary) visit the Mansfield
neighbourhood, the moral sense of each marriageable member of the Mansfield family is tested in
various ways, but Fanny emerges unscathed.

This may be moderated by the history of displacement Jane Austen has provided for Fanny: the years
of intimidation she has endured from Mrs Norris and her dependence on Edmund, whose kindness
comes with instructions for her of how she should behave.
Fanny has a disapproving attitude towards Mary. We are never sure whether this is due to Fanny
amp;#8217;s morals or her jealousy of the way Edmund is fixated with her.
As a result of Edmunds amp;#8217; coaching, Fanny amp;#8217;s moral attitudes in general are over
determined, so it is quite easy for us to think of her as modelling a amp;#8216;conduct manual

The Jewish faith revolves around the theme of relationships between the Creator, mankind and the
land of Israel. It is through these relationships that Jewish Beliefs, Customs and Sacred Writings
interlink throughout the Jewish religion. The festival Rosh Hashanah is a prime example of where
Jewish practices strongly associate with the beliefs and Sacred Scriptures of Judaism. Through the
links between customs, traditions and Sacred Writings, adherents to the Jewish faith affiliate with not
only their communities, but with themselves and God.
Sacred Texts and Writings are the foundations of all beliefs and practices in Judaism, providing and

Progressive Jews believe in the adaption of laws and customs in a religion as society modernises, for
example, women are now able to become rabbis. As every Jew has different devotion to their religion,
beliefs and practices will be performed differently throughout Rosh Hashanah. Beliefs and conjectures
are drawn from the investigation of Sacred Texts, furthering growth and relationships throughout the
Jewish faith and establishing rituals performed in festivals such as Rosh Hashanah.
Rosh Hashanah is referred to as the Jewish New Year, marking a 10 day period of self condemnation.
Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first and second day of the Tishri, the first month on the traditional
Jewish calendar with the word Rosh Hashanah meaning head of the year or beginning of the year .
The Bible itself does not use the words Rosh Hashanah to expostulate the New Year, alternatively
referring to it as Yom Ha Zikkaron, meaning day of remembrance . This is shown in Leviticus 23:24
25, Say to the Israelites: On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of Sabbath rest, a
sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present a food offering
to the Lord. The religious practices that occur throughout this Jewish festival focus on the sovereignty
of God. The Torah refers to Rosh Hashanah as a day of remembrance, to celebrate the creation

The Houses of Parliament, Cas Vromans
The Palace of Westminster is the meeting spot of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the

The principal illustrious castle was based on the site in the eleventh century, and Westminster was the
main living place of the Kings of England until flame decimated a great part of the complex in 1512.
After that, it served as the home of the Parliament of England, which had been meeting there since the
thirteenth century, furthermore as the seat of the Royal Courts of Justice, situated in and around
Westminster Hall. In 1834, a considerably more noteworthy fire desolated the vigorously remade
Houses of Parliament, and the main huge medieval structures to survive were Westminster Hall, the
Cloisters of St Stephen s, the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, and the Jewel Tower.

1. What is this poem s expressive purpose?
This poem s expressive purpose is to show the listener what the speaker s last duchess was like, and
through this, show what the duke himself is like. He explains that this piece was done very well, and
that the expression that the duchess seems to be making in the painting could be a result of when Fr
Pandolf chanced to say Her mantle laps / Over my lady s wrist too much, or Paint / Must never hope
to reproduce the faint / Half flush that dies along her throat. This shows that any simple compliments
that the painter may have chosen to give to the duchess were enough to cause a an earnest glance with
such depth and passion. From here on, the speaker is conveying serious disappointment in how the
duchess acted; she appreciated him just as she appreciated everything and everyone else.
2. How many characters do we find in this poem?
In this poem, we find six individual characters. There is the duke himself, the person he is speaking to
(who is servant to a count), the count, Fr Pandolf , Claus of Innsbruck who has cast in bronze a statue
of Neptune...Taming a sea horse for the duke, and the duchess herself. There are also some other
people that are spoken of, such as the officious fool who brought the duchess a bough of cherries and
the people who are waiting for the duke and the servant.

Improving Health, Education, And The Environment
The MDGs identify and quantify specific gains that could be made to improve the lives of the world s
poor people. Their aim is to reduce poverty while improving health, education, and the environment.
These goals were endorsed by 189 countries at the September 2000 UN Millennium General
Assembly in New York. They focus on significant, measurable improvements for the efforts of the
World Bank Group, governments, other international organizations, and other partners in the
development community. The MDGs grew out of the agreements and resolutions that have resulted

But providing assistance isn t limited to providing financial aid. Developing countries may also

Achieving the goals is an enormous challenge. Partnerships between the Bank Group, the UN
Development Group (UNDG), and other organizations, as well as between donors and developing
countries, are the only way to ensure coordinated and complementary efforts. The UNDG consists of
the many UN programs, funds, and agencies engaged in development assistance and related activities.
The Bank Group participates in the UNDG and supports its framework for greater coherence and

Strategic Framework
The Bank Group s strategic framework concentrates on the twin pillars of:
1. building an appropriate climate for investment, jobs, and sustainable growth so that economies will
grow,
2. Investing in and empowering poor people to participate in development.
In recent years, the executive directors have underscored the continued relevance of these priorities,
have reaffirmed the need for selectivity in the Bank Group s work, and have called for greater

needs of meeting requests of low income, heavily indebted and fragile countries. They have also

Comparative Analysis Of The Attention Getter And The...
Comparative Analysis of The Attention Getter and The Denouement: In the movie The Incredibles, the
director Brad Bird had the beginning of the film start with interviews of the heroes to subvert viewer
expectations and have the audience focus on the people behind the masks. After interview scene, an
action police chase takes place so that the audience would be on the edge of their seats interested to
watch the film. The attention getter draws the audience in as they can easily understand the heroes
personalities before the action takes place. The police chase is fast paced and there are lots of fast
camera movements occurring. As well, in the attention getter Mr. Incredible is trying to multitask and
time is ticking which leaves the audience with curiosity to see what will happen. It s easy to observe
that Mr. Incredible works alone and seems extremely excited to fight crime as every time he gets a
crime in progress notification he looks at his watch and states, I ve got time. And speeds to the next
crime scene. When the denouement is occurring Dash and Violet have both received what they
wanted, Dash got to do track and show off a small portion of his running and Violet is now confident
in herself and not timid. This allows the viewers to witness the transformation the two kids have gone
through. The next scene we see is an action shot of a new villain emerging from the ground causing
conflict and right away the whole family has their masks on and are ready to fight.

Analysis Of Troilus And Cressida Essay

woman, her true nature reveals a completely different Cressida. She is witty, coy, and apparently say,
which helps her to adapt to her changing circumstances, none of which are under her control. She is
resistant of Troilus at first and then after she falls for him, seems to think somewhat more of him than
he deserves, as her dialogue switches from double talk to inflated rhetoric. Shakespeare s Cressida has
often been dismissed as a shallow, cold, calculating prostitute; however, some recent evaluations
challenge this perception of her character. Where the main concern is of her being faithful to the man
who did not save her from being taken by the Greeks, she now depends on wit which has single
handedly saved her in past situations. Rather than being calculating or deceptive, Cressida is driven by
her own vanity, addicted to romantic displays of affection where her worth as a noble

Hippocampus Research Paper
The hippocampus is a small region of the brain that is associated with the limbic system (Mandal,
n.d). It can be found in the medial temporal lobe of the brain, beneath the cortical surface (Mandal,
n.d). It is separated into two half s that reside on the left and right side of the brains hemispheres
(Mandal, n.d). The first description of the hippocampus was given by anatomist Julius Caesar in 1587
(Mandal, n.d). Caesar described the shape first as a silkworm, but would later describe it as a seahorse

time (Edit, Oliver. 2013). Studies into the magnetic resonance imaging of patients with Alzheimer s
have discovered a smaller hippocampus, than those who do not suffer from the disease (Edit, Oliver.
2013). Alzheimer s speeds up an individual s atrophy rate, causing the brain to shrink at a faster pace
than individuals who are not suffering from the disease (Edit, Oliver. 2013). The shrinking of parts of
the brain including the hippocampus can be seen in the long term memory loss in Alzheimer s patients
(Edit, Oliver. 2013). In addition to Alzheimer s there are many other things that have an affect the
hippocampus. Such as, Oxygen deprivation (Hypoxia) which can have serious effects on the
hippocampus. Hypoxia could happen in result of heart attacks, respiratory failure, carbon monoxide

Rendition Of A Single Day
In One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, Alexander Solzhenitsyn portrays the fictional rendition of
a single day s conflicts for a Zek within a Stalinist labor camp. Conflict aids the novel by allowing the
reader to better understand the endeavors the prisoners experience. To express the conditions within
the gulags, Solzhenitsyn shows how Ivan survives his agonizing daily tasks. From working through
frigid temperatures to trudging through the surroundings of snow and ice, Ivan and the other prisoners
labor through the harsh elements with their minimal strength in order to complete their assigned duty.
Another conflict occurs by the Zeks against each other. Distrust runs high, making gulag life more
difficult. The men also commonly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A murky fog wrapped itself around Shukov and made him cough painfully. The temperature out there
was 17. Shukov s temperature was +99 (Solzhenitsyn 23). Illness is inevitable in the despairing
weather conditions and lack of proper health care. The men begin to lose hope in living, and neglect
their assigned tasks. Man vs. nature conflict signifies the recurring weather conditions the men battle
through. This conflicting aspect has the most impactful effect on the Zeks because the cold
temperatures and frozen precipitation weaken them, increasingly by the hour. Weather clashes with
them at all times because they are not given proper shelter. The conditions in the bunks are near what
it is like out in the elements, therefore they do not have a place to return for their bodies to recover and
gain heat. Because the men are not able to cope in the freezing weather, their bodies begin to shut
down. The repeated exposure increasingly weakens and kills off many of the Zeks. Therefore, the
most prominent form of conflict is through man vs. nature, which creates the most immense battle
within the novel, forcing the laborers to fight daily for their lives. In addition to man vs. nature,
another form of conflict Solzhenitsyn places throughout the book is man vs. man. Due to the extreme
conditions and savagery that arises from the lack of proper supplies and living quarters, the men
selfishly only think of themselves or their

Witchcraft Vs Religion
Witchcraft In this world there are many different types of religions. Furthermore, I identify as a
Christian. Meanwhile, my grandma is a Jehovah´s Witness, my uncle is Mormon, and I had an aunt
that was Catholic. There are so many beliefs and many people still are not educated about the other
side that they typically practice against. One that many people interpret the wrong way or know little
to nothing about. One that no one considers to be a religion. One that many see as different and
disturbing. Witchcraft. Most people see witchcraft as evil or immoral. In most cases this is true,
especially in fiction movies, shows, or books.. The other side is neither good nor bad they just want to
live their lives different than most people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Naturalism is the view that there is no transcendent reality to such as God that can intervene in the
natural world. ¨Christianity is monotheistic. Christianity claims there is a god and no one of us is he.
Witchcrafts opposite, ¨We are the nature of the gods and fully realized man or women is channel
divinity.¨ So, Christianity and Witchcraft are basically polar opposites. With that being said, it doesn t
mean either one is true nor better. It is all about your mentality and the people you surround yourself
with. That´s why it is best to have a freedom of religion. Another good quote, ¨Notice that the term
practice is often used with the term witchcraft. What this tells us is that, for many, Wicca is a much as
someone does as it is what someone believes.¨ I believe this goes for Christianity as well. We practice
praising God every week, reading the bible, and trying to live the right way. Witchcraft is similar in
that way because they practice every day to live better in THEIR own way, practice their own books
and such.
Both religions have a long history and have made it to today´s world, that shows you that Christianity
and Witchcraft have been used for a long time and are still being practiced. ¨If you go far enough
back, all our ancestors practiced religions that had neither creeds or dogmas, neither prophets nor holy
books. These religions were based on the celebrations of the seasonal cycles of nature.¨ Witchcraft has
came a long way from our ancestors because back then they had it all memorized plus more people
were fond of the religion. Today, most write down things to remember or people buy a

Paul Gilroy The Black Atlantic
The prefix, Modo, is a word derived from the Latin language, which means now in the English
language (Latin Dictionary). Words like mode, modern, modernity, modernize, and modernization
uses the prefix to portray the current aspect of doing something to produce a result. The results might
have an advantage or disadvantage. Paul Gilroy, author of The Black Atlantic: Modernity and Double
Consciousness describes how he developed the book, The Black Atlantic developed from my uneven
attempts to show these students that the experiences of black people were part of the abstract
modernity (Black Atlantic, pg. ix) which describes the role in modernity and the experience of African
Americans through the brutality of slavery. Consequently, History impacts the present, and changes
the future. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When describing the Black Atlantic, Gilroy avoids ethnocentrism as he alludes to various cultures
within the New World. The United States has always been a diverse society. This book informs the
audience that there is an international culture with the emphasis of modernism; the author references
the Black Atlantic as a counterculture of modernity. Black Atlantic explores the exhibition of a
counterculture of modernity because the movement fights the centrism of modernity and supports the
globalism of culture for the creation of a better world as it initiates a strong criticism that offset the
action of ethnic

The Garden of Earthly Delights is the modern title given...
The Garden of Earthly Delights is the modern title given to a triptych painted by the Early
Netherlandish master Hieronymus Bosch. It has been housed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid since
1939. Dating from between 1490 and 1510, when Bosch was between about 40 and 60 years old, it is
his best known and most ambitious complete work. It reveals the artist at the height of his powers; in
no other painting does he achieve such complexity of meaning or such vivid imagery.
The left panel (220 × 97.5 cm, 87 × 38.4 in) (sometimes known as the Joining of Adam and Eve)
depicts a scene from the paradise of the Garden of Eden commonly interpreted as the moment when
God presents Eve to Adam. The painting shows Adam waking from a deep sleep ... Show more

Bosch depicts a world in which humans have succumbed to temptations that lead to evil and reap
eternal damnation. The tone of this final panel strikes a harsh contrast to those preceding it. The scene
is set at night, and the natural beauty that adorned the earlier panels is noticeably absent. Compared to
the warmth of the center panel, the right wing possesses a chilling quality rendered through cold
colourisation and frozen waterways and presents a tableau that has shifted from the paradise of the
center image to a spectacle of cruel torture and retribution. In a single, densely detailed scene, the
viewer is made witness to cities on fire in the background; war, torture chambers, infernal taverns, and
demons in the midground; and mutated animals feeding on human flesh in the foreground. The
nakedness of the human figures has lost all its eroticism, and many now attempt to cover their
genitalia and breasts with their hands.
The triptych is painted in oil on oak and is formed from a square middle panel flanked by two other
oak rectangular wings that close over the center as shutters. The outer wings, when folded, show a
grisaille painting of the earth during the biblical narrative of Creation. The three scenes of the inner
triptych are probably (but not necessarily) intended to be read chronologically from left to right. The
left panel depicts God presenting Eve to Adam, the central panel is a broad

Analysis Of The Movie Network
Right now, it s an industry dedicated to one thing. Profit. This quote by author, Paddy Chayefsky,
perfectly sums up the motives behind the movie Network. From hiring soothsayers to risking a man s
mental heath for the sake of a successful television program, the characters in Network have truly
been blinded by fame and top ratings. This satire fiercely describes just how far a television network
will go to achieve such accomplishments. In the 1950 s, television changed American entertainment
from showing sitcoms to serious news broadcasts. In the movie Network, the setting revolves around a
news station, where the ratings are suffering and the workers are growing desperate for attention.
Television executive, Diana Christensen, is tirelessly racking her brain for the next big hit, and her
ideas are deemed crazy by more than just one coworker; however, in desperation, her ideas are put to
the test on live television. Even after news anchor, Howard Beale, has a mental breakdown on camera,
Christensen fights to keep him on the air because of the rising success the network found in his
entertaining yet uncontrollable rants about a failing society (Ebert). Eventually, Christensen manages
to secure Howard Beale s very own television series featuring a soothsayer to predict future shows and
Beale himself to demand people to take control of their lives. Almost all of his shows ended in him
falling flat on the ground from fainting; this reveals the toll that the program is

The Era Of The Common Man
The Jacksonian period has been regarded as the era of the common man , this characterization only
holds true in regard to politics. Jackson s action in economic development was little different from
when this era began. His view towards reforms were threatening and unwanting. Jackson was
relentless in his strive for presidency. Jackson lost his first presidential run to John Quincy Adams in
1824 despite having the popular and electoral votes. The Jacksonians (supporters of Jackson) called
this event the Corrupt Bargain due to Henry Clay support of Adams after he was out of the race.
Jackson won the following election in 1828, after a war of words were exchanged between supporters
of Jackson and Adams. The Jacksonians accused Adams of being wasteful with money, while Adams
supporters accused Jackson of being a murderer in the war of 1812 and called his wife a bigamist.
These accusations got to Rachel and weeks later she passed. Nonetheless, this was still a victory for
the new Democratic Republicans against the National Republicans. Politically, the age of Jackson was
a triumph for the common man since politics were more open. Before Jackson politics were only
indulged in by aristocrats and elites; With Jackson it was open to all white male citizens. It has also be
noted that before Jackson came into office that there was expansion in voting with Ohio and other new
western states. These new constitutions made older states conform to their laws due to the fear of

David Hume s Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion Essay
David Hume s Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion provide conflicting arguments about the nature
of the universe, what humans can know about it, and how their knowledge can affect their religious
beliefs. The most compelling situation relates to philosophical skepticism and religion; the empiricist
character, Cleanthes, strongly defends his position that skepticism is beneficial to religious belief.
Under fire from an agnostic skeptic and a rationalist, the empiricist view on skepticism and religion is
strongest in it s defense. This debate is a fundamental part of the study of philosophy: readers must
choose their basic understanding of the universe and it s creator, upon which all other assumptions
about the universe will be made. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When they are young, they will be taught about the supremacy of religion and the fallibility of
philosophy and science. Demea s theology resembles the god of the gaps perspective, where any
failings of science and philosophy is more reason to believe that God exists within the things we
cannot explain. He hopes that as his students learn of this, they will believe that the paramount
objective of their education is to learn the nature of God, who is most important and constant being in
the universe. To summarize, Demea believes that humans will never fully understand the universe;
thus, the failure of science to provide explanations is the greatest proof of God and greatest
justification for faith.
Philo heckles the ideas of Demea while imposing his own ideas. As an empiricist and a skeptic, he
calls to let us become thoroughly sensible of the weakness, blindness, and narrow limits of human
reason. (131) Philo believes that because humans have been historically ignorant about science and the
universe, that humanity

In My Continuance On The Chosen Topic Of Superstitions
In my continuance on the chosen topic of Superstitions Worldwide, the myths and practices were
found in correlations and similarities shared with countries across the globe. In Part one of my last
research, I found a few myths that appears similar. However, though a few are commonly practiced as
of current, there is no scientific proof they are accurate. As stated, in my previous report, a recent
statistic states, that only 30% of people are not superstitious , thus I can assume that the rest of the
70% does, while others won t admit that they are in fact superstitious. Therefore, I will explore some

Among the many villages in India, the practice of water being poured over a sheep s back , is
considered an acceptable good sign if the animal shivers. On the flip side, if the animal did not shiver,
the people would continue to pour water until it does to avoid the additional expense of a second
animal being killed. In addition, to the practice of the animal be a sacrifice, the goat would be
decorated by the Koravas people, then taken and place in front of shrine/idol. The final determination
for acceptance, should the body of the animal quivers it is observed as a confirmation. In any event, it
was not established the animal would be abundant and replace with a second animal for sacrifice. In
addition, another one of their practices is the use of cock at death ceremonies of the Idaiyans of
Coimbatore. In the sacrificial offering, a cock is tied to a post and rice is used as an offering. Also, at
the end, the thread is tied to the post and the other end with a new cloth. During the ceremony, the
thread is watched by the people if it shakes, and then broken . Once this has happened the cock is
killed and is considered a good omen if the cock is seen moving in adversely from left to right, as well
as other animals are seen looking from a far off with similar adverse movements is it considered a
good omen. I found within this culture it is hard to conclude whether their practices or superstitious

  • 5. Gender Inequality And Gender Equality Gender inequality is the state in which access to rights or opportunities is affected by gender. Gender inequality is an issue not just nationally but globally. This issue is portrayed by the mistreating of individuals, mainly women, and not valuing everyone as one. This presentation will illustrate the exploration of gender equality, propose a solution and why that solution will produce a better future for a better world. Gender inequality is a very important issue common in our world today that refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially constructed gender roles as well as biologically through chromosomes, brain structure, and hormonal differences. Gender inequality stems from distinctions, whether empirically grounded or socially constructed. The only differences that men and women behold is their appearance and some organs. Women have 1 brain and 1 heart which is the same as men but are still dehumanised. If our world continues to carry out gender inequality, women won t have a voice to contribute to our society and men will have the final choice and the freedom of speech. Out of the seven deadly sins, two of the seven occur the most; Pride and Envy. Pride is shown by the man who thinks they re superior to women. This is sometimes a result from Envy. Envy is seen when the man suffers from jealousy about the woman and her possessions. He then treats her less than as a sign of Envy/Jealousy. Women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Most Important Parts Of Any Game Paintball is a game unlike any other I have ever experienced. To play well, one must have several important skills. When playing as a member of a team, you must learn to communicate well with your team. When playing a game, if someone tries to be the superhero and play aggressively, taking out all other opponents, they won t get very far. The team wouldn t work well together, and most likely lose the game. Teamwork is one of the most important parts of any game, especially paintball.[ www.exampleessays.com] I ll never forget the day of fall 2011 it was a very warm day; I could smell the freshness of fallen leaves blowing in the wind I could remember it like it was yesterday. It was a typical day nice out wet grounds from the morning dew crunchy leaves blowing all over the place. We all met up at my uncle s house to gather up all our supplies and to have breakfast. After breakfast we put our stuff in the trunk of the car and headed off to the woods. We met up with six other players at the off road parking lot that was down the street we grab our stuff and rushed into the woods. The male gender had way more rights than women, and they had run more things than women. Finally, women began to come forward to voice their opinions about how men and women are made to be equal; no less, no more. It was now time for women to go out and pursue whatever they wanted to pursue and not have to worry about the fact that they are females or that they are weaker or have less education than a man. • 8. Advantages Of Electric Fly Killers How effective are electric fly killers in killing flying insects? Nowadays, there are always flying insects that are wandering around in a certain place and people seem to be having a very hard time catching them and killing them at the same time. These flies are a nuisance to every person because nobody would want to have flies in the house. People would find these flying insects flying around mostly in their homes, however, they cannot seem to find the source of this problem. This has occurred every year and yet, people could not find the source of these problems. Some factors that could be affecting this problem is the change in weather of every month or season, things that are dirty that may attract flies, etc. The magnitude of this problem may increase if a solution is not implemented to solve this problem as soon as possible. The first one is that obviously, electric fly killers eliminate lots of flying insects right away, and it greatly reduces the insect population around the area. There might be piles and piles of insects within a few days, and while eventually there will be lesser insects, there is no denying that electric fly killers play a huge impact on solving this issue. The second benefit is that similarly, electric fly killers allow people to eliminate flying insects with few chemicals and not much personal involvement. There is no health risk when it does not come to handling the electric fly killers, nor there any risk of disturbing or a nest or facing an insect that people fear. Electric fly killers are out of the way and it has limited personal involvement, so people would not need to involve in anything when it comes to using electric fly killers. • 9. Pain And Its Effects On Pain Pain The International Association for the Study of Pain defines pain as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage (1979). Pain is actually the culprit behind warranting a visit to a physician office for many people (Besson, 1999). Notoriously unpleasant, pain could also pose a threat as both a psychological and economic burden (Phillips, 2006). Sometimes pain does happen without any damage of tissue or any likely diseased state. The reasons for such pain are poorly understood and the term used to describe such type of pain is psychogenic pain . Also, the loss of productivity and daily activity due to pain is also significant. Pain engulfs a trillion dollars of GDP for lost work time and disability payments (Melnikova, 2010). Untreated pain not only impacts a person suffering from pain but also impacts their whole family. A person s quality of life is negatively impacted by pain and it diminishes their ability to concentrate, work, exercise, socialize, perform daily routines, and sleep. All of these negative impacts ultimately lead to much more severe behavioral effects such as depression, aggression, mood alterations, isolation, and loss of self esteem, which pose a great threat to human society. Types of pain: Based on the duration of persistence, pain is often divided into two broad categories as mentioned below. Acute pain: Acute pain is often a result of injury or ... Reasons Why Nazis Came to Power in 1933 Reasons Why Nazis Came to Power in 1933 There are several factors that enabled the Nazi party, with Hitler as its leader, was able to come to power in Germany in 1933. There are 5 main reasons involved history, economics, politics and the personality of Hitler. The main political events occurred in 1923 and 1933. The Treaty of Versailles was one of the most important causes that led to Hitler s rise in Germany. From the German point of view the treaty was incredibly harsh and devastating for Germany. The treaty contained five major points that would be Germany s demise. Germany was reduced severely as a military power. Due to this the country also had a huge problem in dealing with the large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Saar Coalmines made a lot of money, and were very profitable to Germany. A big industry had been taken away from Germany. All three of these points, accepting the blame for the war, disarmament and the lost of the territory made the country feel weak. It was a total humiliation to the Germans and to the man in the army at that time, Hitler. All of Germany s overseas colonies were given to the victors as mandates, or territories held in trust until they were ready for independence. The other terms of the treaty was the war reparations that Germany was forced to pay. The sum of this was £6,6oo million. Germany felt this was far too much. The lost of Germany s territory e.g. the Saar coalfields and other territories made it harder for Germany to pay the reparations. It caused a tremendous economic problems in Germany. The German people were starving and living in poverty. This soon caused inflation that sprouted to hyperinflation and so the Economic depression of the 1920 ´s in Germany occurred. Poor Fanny Price is brought up at Mansfield Park with her uncle and aunt. Where only her cousin Edmund helps her with the difficulties she suffers from the rest of the family, and from her own fearfulness and timidity. It is through these relationships that Jewish Beliefs, Customs and Sacred Writings interlink throughout the Jewish religion. The festival Rosh Hashanah is a prime example of where Jewish practices strongly associate with the beliefs and Sacred Scriptures of Judaism. Through the links between customs, traditions and Sacred Writings, adherents to the Jewish faith affiliate with not only their communities, but with themselves and God. As every Jew has different devotion to their religion, beliefs and practices will be performed differently throughout Rosh Hashanah. Beliefs and conjectures are drawn from the investigation of Sacred Texts, furthering growth and relationships throughout the Jewish faith and establishing rituals performed in festivals such as Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah is referred to as the Jewish New Year, marking a 10 day period of self condemnation. Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first and second day of the Tishri, the first month on the traditional Jewish calendar with the word Rosh Hashanah meaning head of the year or beginning of the year . The Bible itself does not use the words Rosh Hashanah to expostulate the New Year, alternatively referring to it as Yom Ha Zikkaron, meaning day of remembrance . This is shown in Leviticus 23:24 25, Say to the Israelites: On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of Sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. • 13. Cas Vromans Research Paper The Houses of Parliament, Cas Vromans The Palace of Westminster is the meeting spot of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two homes of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Generally known as the Houses of Parliament after its inhabitants, it is otherwise called the heart of British legislative issues . The Palace lies on the north bank of the River Thames in the City of Westminster, in focal London. The principal illustrious castle was based on the site in the eleventh century, and Westminster was the main living place of the Kings of England until flame decimated a great part of the complex in 1512. After that, it served as the home of the Parliament of England, which had been meeting there since the thirteenth century, furthermore as the seat of the Royal Courts of Justice, situated in and around Westminster Hall. In 1834, a considerably more noteworthy fire desolated the vigorously remade Houses of Parliament, and the main huge medieval structures to survive were Westminster Hall, the Cloisters of St Stephen s, the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, and the Jewel Tower. This poem s expressive purpose is to show the listener what the speaker s last duchess was like, and through this, show what the duke himself is like. He explains that this piece was done very well, and that the expression that the duchess seems to be making in the painting could be a result of when Fr Pandolf chanced to say Her mantle laps / Over my lady s wrist too much, or Paint / Must never hope to reproduce the faint / Half flush that dies along her throat. This shows that any simple compliments that the painter may have chosen to give to the duchess were enough to cause a an earnest glance with such depth and passion. From here on, the speaker is conveying serious disappointment in how the duchess acted; she appreciated him just as she appreciated everything and everyone else. 2. • 21. Analysis Of Troilus And Cressida Essay In the essay, I am attempting to reveal the true character of Cressida as opposed to the reputation she obtains in the play. This is accomplished through the conversations Cressida has with Pandarus and Troilus, where the two men obtain early encounters with Cressida as this noble nature is revealed. In the Shakespearean play, Troilus and Cressida , Cressida is a woman who seems to be easily manipulated by the male characters. Despite being taken advantage of often, she finds herself making light of each terrible situation. Although the men who take advantage only see her as a promiscuous woman, her true nature reveals a completely different Cressida. She is witty, coy, and apparently say, which helps her to adapt to her changing circumstances, none of which are under her control. She is resistant of Troilus at first and then after she falls for him, seems to think somewhat more of him than he deserves, as her dialogue switches from double talk to inflated rhetoric. Shakespeare s Cressida has often been dismissed as a shallow, cold, calculating prostitute; however, some recent evaluations challenge this perception of her character. Where the main concern is of her being faithful to the man who did not save her from being taken by the Greeks, she now depends on wit which has single handedly saved her in past situations. Rather than being calculating or deceptive, Cressida is driven by her own vanity, addicted to romantic displays of affection where her worth as a noble ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Illness is inevitable in the despairing weather conditions and lack of proper health care. The men begin to lose hope in living, and neglect their assigned tasks. Man vs. nature conflict signifies the recurring weather conditions the men battle through. This conflicting aspect has the most impactful effect on the Zeks because the cold temperatures and frozen precipitation weaken them, increasingly by the hour. Weather clashes with them at all times because they are not given proper shelter. The conditions in the bunks are near what it is like out in the elements, therefore they do not have a place to return for their bodies to recover and gain heat. Because the men are not able to cope in the freezing weather, their bodies begin to shut down. The repeated exposure increasingly weakens and kills off many of the Zeks. Therefore, the most prominent form of conflict is through man vs. nature, which creates the most immense battle within the novel, forcing the laborers to fight daily for their lives. It has been housed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid since 1939. Dating from between 1490 and 1510, when Bosch was between about 40 and 60 years old, it is his best known and most ambitious complete work. It reveals the artist at the height of his powers; in no other painting does he achieve such complexity of meaning or such vivid imagery. The left panel (220 × 97.5 cm, 87 × 38.4 in) (sometimes known as the Joining of Adam and Eve) depicts a scene from the paradise of the Garden of Eden commonly interpreted as the moment when God presents Eve to Adam. Bosch depicts a world in which humans have succumbed to temptations that lead to evil and reap eternal damnation. The tone of this final panel strikes a harsh contrast to those preceding it. Compared to the warmth of the center panel, the right wing possesses a chilling quality rendered through cold colourisation and frozen waterways and presents a tableau that has shifted from the paradise of the center image to a spectacle of cruel torture and retribution. In a single, densely detailed scene, the viewer is made witness to cities on fire in the background; war, torture chambers, infernal taverns, and demons in the midground; and mutated animals feeding on human flesh in the foreground. The nakedness of the human figures has lost all its eroticism, and many now attempt to cover their genitalia and breasts with their hands. Jackson s action in economic development was little different from when this era began. His view towards reforms were threatening and unwanting. Jackson was relentless in his strive for presidency. Jackson lost his first presidential run to John Quincy Adams in 1824 despite having the popular and electoral votes. The Jacksonians (supporters of Jackson) called this event the Corrupt Bargain due to Henry Clay support of Adams after he was out of the race. Under fire from an agnostic skeptic and a rationalist, the empiricist view on skepticism and religion is strongest in it s defense.
