The Evolution Of Health Care
What is quality in health care? We can divide it into three elements:
1. Care by practitioners and other providers which means receive correct diagnosis and an appropriate
strategy of care from practitioners; and convenience, comfort, quite, privacy, food etc. from care
providers.
2. Care Implemented by patient that means patient should take care not only for him or herself but also
for his or her family. It is patient s responsibility if he or she succeed or fail of getting health care.
3. Care received by community as the whole. People should judge the social distribution of levels of
quality in the community. It depends on who has an access more or less to care and after having
access, receiving it in good or low quality. The evolution of health care in the United States started
over 300 years ago. It is divided into six main important eras: the charitable, the educational era, the
insurance era, the government era, the managed care era and the consumerism era. The charitable
includes period from about 1700 to about 1830. In the beginning of this period, health care was
provided voluntarily in public houses mostly for needy citizens. Those who had money could afford
seen or treated at homes. The firs hospital was built in Philadelphia in 1752, after about 40 years
hospital in New York opened their doors for people who need a treat. At the same time in New York
state passed licensure act that person who wants to practice medicine or surgery must have been
examined

Summary On The International Society For The Suppression...
rt that Kurtz presented to The International Society for the Suppression of Savage Practices. Use

is vibrating with eloquence, is a beautiful piece of writing and that the peroration (is Magnificient. )
The inhabitants of Africa have sparked my curiosity with their unusual actions and supposed
incredulity towards our benevolent race. As such I have monitored the behaviour and actions of the
savage inhabitants to understand ways in which to subdue their barbaric nature, that threatens the
Modern way of life. Many would argue that these people remain devoid of structure, however our
previous conceptions were far from the truth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have evolved in its primitive regions and are well suited to the hot and dangerous country,
however, this evolutionary process follows that of the local wildlife where higher thought has not been
made evident in these people as they engage in primitive rituals in which they murder each other as
well as their children. One cannot expect them to reach the level of sophistication that the Western
man has obtained.
Despite the often savage and barbaric behaviour of the primitive, I believe that they can be broken into
their rightful roles. In the words of Thomas More, You wouldn t abandon a ship in a storm just
because you couldn t control the winds, from the aptly named book Utopia.
The limitless power of holding such a position in the eyes of these gullible yet potentially useful
creatures if used in a manner befitting of their position. These people hold the key to establishing
sophisticated civilization for everybody around the globe and allow the human race to transcend from
these base forms. These people present themselves in a manner as willing to accept the perception of
them as barbaric, most likely due to their unyielding connection with the land and the wildlife. To
remove their land and rituals, would be to remove an amount of meaning from their supposedly dull
lives. Since occupying Africa I have discovered that they have the potential to work in a symbiotic
relationship with society in that they would perform mundane tasks

The Convergence Of Methods Of Storing Files
Americans today have seen the progression from old media to new media; majority, experiencing for
themselves the transition from pagers to cell phones, cassettes to iPods, or paper maps to GPS devices.
According to Henry Jenkins, who studies media convergence, this Convergence [where old and new
media collide] represents a cultural shift as consumers are encouraged to seek out new information
and make connections among dispersed media content (Jenkins 457). It is through the help of
convergence that old media has developed into the new media Americans see today. The convergence
of methods of storing files is an example of this. Storing files online, is taking the old media, a USB
Flash Drive, and converging it into a new digital ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dropbox is a cloud storage service; a business that overlooks a users data and makes that data
accessible online. Because Dropbox has introduced people to the idea of accessing wireless data, this
reveals how this type of new media has changed the way that content is produced, distributed, and
consumed. Although the use of either a USB Flash Drive (old media) or Dropbox (new media)
maintains the same objective, that is, to provide people with alternate methods of storing data,
Dropbox is becoming a standard way of accessing data with the use of the internet as a platform. This
in turn, benefits Dropbox users somewhat.
One benefit of transitioning from a USB Flash Drive to Dropbox is that Dropbox allows easy access to
documents. Dropping files into Dropbox essentially stores these files on the online cloud, where users
can access their files anywhere and at any time as long as users have access to internet connection.
There are three methods in which Dropbox users can easily access their documents. The first is
through the Dropbox website. Users could simply sign in and upload a document they would like to
save or download an already saved file, make revisions to it, and upload the revised document.
Another way Dropbox allows easy access to documents is by linking a users Dropbox account to their
mobile device. This could

The Roaring 20 s And The Great Depression
During my investigation I had a difficult time finding sources for my question. At the beginning of my
research I began searching for the styles of art during the Great Depression and Roaring Twenties. I
did this because I intended to base my research on the question ; What was the change in visual art
from the Roaring 20 s and the Great Depression in the United States? . After finding information of
the question, I realized that my question was mostly about the history of art and I could not go into
depth about it as a historian would. This is when I changed my question to What was the impact of the
Roaring 20 s and the Great Depression on visual art in the United States? . After I altered my question
I started researching for more sources

Examples Of Constructed Colour Selection
constructed colour selection intensified the mood of each scene while escalating narrative
complexities such as secrecy and danger. A lack of colour can further increase a character s depth. For
instance, at the beginning of the film, we meet Marion Crane who is involved in a torrid love affair
with Sam Loomis (0:03:14). We discover that their romance often takes place in sleazy motels with
the passion kept secret from judgemental eyes. Despite implying that their rendezvous is scandalous,
Marion is shown wearing a white bra and slip which hints at her presumably modest demeanour
(0:03:14). Later on, we see Marion changing clothing again, except at this point she has stolen forty
thousand dollars from her workplace (0:11:05). No longer wearing

parable that is mentioned in the plot of the book. The parable is told by one of the main characters
Ivan Karamazov to his brother Alyosha Karamazov who is a young monk. In this story, the main
character is a Cardinal Grand Inquisitor who arrests Jesus Christ. In The Grand Inquisitor, Fyodor
Dostoyevsky is an intellect discussing how the conflict between God represented by Jesus Christ on

Spirituality And Religiosity
While consensus among researchers on the definition of spirituality and religiosity is lacking, what it
means to be spiritual or religious and what constitutes a spiritual person in the literature is still very
highly researched (Stranahan, 2008). Many definitions of religiosity and spirituality include religious
service attendance, some sort of meaning and purpose in life, personal strength to cope with
difficulties, and believing in a higher being (Stranahan, 2008). Older adults tend to have stronger faith
and greater spirituality than younger populations (Moberg, 2005). This difference in spirituality
between younger populations and older adults is possibly tied to the deepening of spiritual interests
and concern during the later years (Moberg, 2005, p. 15). Older adults tend to become more religious,
or turn to religion more as they age, instead of maintaining a high level of religiosity throughout their
lives (Moberg, 2005). Spirituality and religiosity are very important to the aging process due to the
connection observed in many studies between spiritual health and physical and mental health and well
being, with religion having protective health effects. Much research has been conducted on the
association between religion and spirituality and physical and mental health outcomes, especially
among older adults. This paper will summarize the recent findings related to religion and spirituality
and health in older adults, including a discussion on the theory of

African American Political Experience Of African Americans...
When you have influence on someone or something you have the ability to change things
unknowingly. African Americans have influences upon the United States in numerous ways. Socially,
politically and emotionally the black experience embodies influence on our lives today. When I reflect
on the issues that African Americans faced centuries ago, and the issues that we are facing today it
seems to be a reflection. I am a African American woman staring in a cracked mirror watching the
issues of the past reflect back in the world I live in today. African American political experience from
the 20th century have an affect on us as we continue to experience things today day we are striving to
grasp change, equality and justice.
African Americans political experiences have always been a silent cry, it was mentioned in class how
when African Americans stand up for something it s like giving a dog a bone. The minimum is done in
some cases to make the problem quiet down. African Americans have a silent cry in the sense that
people can see what they are dealing with but they won t do anything about it. During the middle of
the 20th century there were African Americans leaving the South in search of jobs ,to have a better life
for their families and be in better circumstances. Desegregation of armies, which allowed more
soldiers to fight in the war and go to war. This was a time that African Americans were wanting more
and were tired of their circumstances. African Americans were

Scientific Method Essay
Scientific method what comes to mind? Do we start thinking of some type of formal process that will
answer all our scientific questions or problems? When I was in school many years ago, we were taught
that scientists go through a series of steps to find a solution to a problem or find evidence to support or
disprove a theory. It all seemed rather cold, and formal. Going back to school, school has taught me
that science has undergone significant changes and has moved away from the rigidity of a fixed series
of steps in what was formerly called the scientific method. I think the best way to describe what helps
me understand scientific method, is trying to shed some light on the uncertainties through ... Show

What I have found is that a lot of research on adult learner has been done only performed recently. If
we go back to the first half of the twenty first century, organization theory was dominated by
classicists who viewed organizations as rational systems and valued efficient operations above all.
They promoted the idea that management is a process of planning, organization, command,
coordination n, and control and that design of an organization should be like that of a machine. This
concept spawned the modern bureaucracy. (Morgan, 1997a) Morgan s points out those organizations
could be considered cold and dehumanizing, so we are suppose to think of organizations as machines?
As we interact everyday with many organizations that are bureaucracies such the schools we attend,

Roger Chillingworth Character Analysis
Characters to People Appearance is representative of a character s current state development along
their journey of either growing as a person, or falling back into more feral tendencies that ultimately
destroy their body, soul, or both. Despite what a character may express to the outside world, their
appearance and actions delivers a relatable context of their hidden motives and well being thus
imbuing them with human life. The outward appearance of Roger Chillingworth is one of the most
distinct in the entire novel, even going as far as giving a glance into his future. When first introduced
to Chillingworth, he is a quiet astute individual that is described multiple times as inquisitive and
observant, traits that are red flags for a character searching for something. The work of Bethany Reid
within, Narrative of the Captivity and Redemption of Roger Prynne , reveals similar sentiment. She
starts her observation by noting, [In] Our first view of Roger Chillingworth... what we first observe
about him underscores his mutable nature. (Reid, 46). Roger s nature starting off the story in this
fashion is consistent to his inner motives; he simply wishes to learn more about Hester and her
whereabouts. On the same page, however, it is noted that he has a slight hunch in his shoulders, a
disfigurement of sorts. This disfigurement is our first clue into his future involvement in the conflict of
the story as he becomes more and more disfigured within. Roger Chillingworth s

Contemporary Art Research Paper
The early Renaissance is often hailed as a period of artistic detail. However, critics might argue that at
least as far as subject matter goes, the Renaissance very much alludes to the religious themes of
contemporary art. What, then, were other differences from contemporary art in comparison to
Renaissance?
Despite the similarities to modern art surrounding subject matter, there can be no doubt that that
Renaissance artists broke the static mold of contemporary art. First of all, though the themes of
modern art have remained fairly constant, the style of the Renaissance was unique in its combination
of modern and ancient influences. However, what is most remarkable about the art of the Renaissance
is the constant evolution of techniques and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sculptures created in the Renaissance era saw the use of new techniques and styles that were
never used before. The artwork had a huge impact of humanism on the different artists in this era.
Starting around the 14th century and ending around the beginning of the 17th century the Renaissance
era art was all about realistic linear perspective where the artist would observe objects from close and
far and then paint it. This enabled the artist to get a lot of depth in his or her sculptures. Also, the art
changed to depicting joy of human emotions and pleasures of life. On the other hand, art of today, also
known as contemporary art, started a few years after World War II up to present day. During this
period, different art movements occurred that influenced artists all over the world. In the 1950 and
1960, contemporary art was influenced by movements like Abstract, Expressionism, Pop Art, Neo
Dada, Minimalism and New York School. Some of the famous artists of this era are Andy Warhol,
Wassily Kandisky, Robert Lichtenstein and Jackson Pollock (Witcombe, 2005). The 1960s was a
playground for modern art. In spite of this new movement in art, the innovation and technical skill was
not of a near caliber as of the Renaissance era. This mainly because of the lack in detail and human
spirit, these are not recognized in modern art sculptures, paintings and photographs today. This being a

i. Born on August 1, 1779, in Frederick County, Maryland, Francis Scott Key became a lawyer who
witnessed the British attack on Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. The fort withstood the day long
assault, inspiring Key to write a poem that would become the future U.S. national anthem, The Star
Spangled Banner. ii. The poem was set to the melody of a popular British song written by John
Stafford Smith for the Anacreon Society a men s social club in London. To Anacreon In Heaven , with
various lyrics, was already popular in the United States. Set to Key s poem and renamed The Star

Wealthy Corinth Analysis
The city is called Wealthy Corinth on account of its trade. Situated on an isthmus it is master of two
harbors, one leading to Asia and the other to Italy. In earlier times, the Temple of Aphrodite acquired
such wealth that it owned over one thousand slaves, women dedicated to the goddess for sex and
entertainment. And so the city was crowded and enriched because of these women, as ship masters
easily spent everything they had (Strabo 8.6.20 23). This quote is from a man named Strabo that was
alive from 64 B.C. to 23 A.D (Dueck, pg 2). Paul s journey to Corinth was around 50 55A.D

Moon Landing History
How can the Moon landings be compared to today? I believe that there are plenty of comparisons to
make between then and now. The Moon landings was an important time in american history, it gave
americans a goal to go to the moon by the end of the 60s, and leaps were made in science and math,
this can be seen again but this time with private space company, SpaceX, who wants to go to mars by
2018 using its new technology to forge a path .
First let s start by saying: why did we go to the moon to begin with? The main reason we went to the
moon was because we were behind in the space race and we needed to do something that would trump
everything the USSR did. In this space race the USSR was beating us to everything, they were the first

Marriage In Islam And The Basics Of Marriage And Islamic...
What is Talaq?
Stable union of the couple is a fundamental condition for a cheerful family life. Islam subsequently,
demanded to have great understanding between the partners to enjoy a successful married life with no
or less chances of breaking down or separation (divorce). Furthermore Islam preaches its followers to
be at bay when it comes to divorce.
At first no marriage is contracted to be disintegrated however in awful conditions the marital contract
is broken. One of the methods for such disintegration is by method for separation. Under Muslim law
the separation may happen by the demonstration of the two parties hat is Husband and wife
themselves or by an announcement of the courtroom. However in whatever way the separation is
affected it has never been regarded good in Islam and not considered as rule for life. In Islam,
separation is considered as a special case to the status of marriage.
Divorce is considered as Evil and one must take extreme precautions to stay away from it as much as
possible. But in a certain instances this abhorrence turns into a need, since when it is impossible for
both Husband and Wife to bear on their union with common understanding and love then it is
smoother to enable them to get isolated than urge them to live respectively in an environment of
disdain and estrangement.
The basics of divorce in Islamic law are the inability to continue their life together respectfully likes
husband and wife. A separation might be either by the

Rhetorical Analysis Of Jamaica Kincaid
Rhetorical Analysis Essay Jamaica kincaid: rough draft
Jamaica Kincaid successfully convinces her audience that post colonial impact still remains. Through
the use of rhetorical appeals such as pathos, logos and imagery she successfully explains her claim.
Through this novel she gives an insightful explanation of what antigua is like from a person who
comes from that area. Kincaid being born in antigua, she gives us a view from her eyes on what
antigua is really like while going through post colonial impact. Kincaid incorporates historical
background in text to convince her audience that this impact is holding back antigua from the good
and enjoyable place it can really be. She develops a connection with the audience when she makes
them feel like the tourist that is figuring out what s going on in the background of antigua. This
connection serves as pathos as it makes the audience feel the emotion of anger and disappointment for
not knowing what mess is really going on in this small island. This demonstration shows how cultures
everywhere are affected by postcolonialism and how there is a negative global commonality between
tourist and natives.
It was very impactful being put in the tourist seat while reading this novel. In the beginning of the
story as the tourist i am being exposed to all this negativity which i came here in the first place to
avoid. Kincaid tells us that everyone has new cars here because it is really easy to get loans from the
bank. This left

Aaron Hernandez
Why Did Aaron Hernandez Kill Odin Lloyd?
Aaron Hernandez a very youthful accomplished NFL player with a 40 million dollar contract will now
be serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. This is all due to him being convicted of
murdering long term companion Odin Lloyd. In June of 2013 Lloyd was shot seven times and found
dead near the player s home. The prosecution had prodigious and significant amounts of evidence
against Hernandez. Surveillance video ten minutes after the murder shows surveillance of Aaron in his
own home walking with what resembles a gun. Text messages from Lloyd and Hernandez shows
intent from them meeting up with each other that same momentous night. The only part missing out of
this case in the motive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example is the image on Hernandez holding a black object that appeared to be a gun. Although no
one could tell for sure what this object was, more than likely it was a gun. The prosecution had
government experts and lay witnesses to present to the jurors that this was more than likely a gun.
Other evidence introduced was a pair of red sneakers earlier on in the trial. Jurors didn t know what
was so important about this evidence but once the prosecution explained about the foot tracks later on
this made sense. So the jury had to go back to the evidence that they were presented earlier and put the
clues together to perceive the evidence. Now the million dollar question is why this talented NFL
player committed such crimes with a 40 million dollar contract at risk. What happened that made him
so angry? Odin Lloyd knew a lot about Hernandez it seems that the more people know about him the
more suspicious he gets. Aaron seems to have a paranoid type of personality partly from his drug
usage with angle dust and marijuana. His brain doesn t function properly while he is on these drug
making him quickly flustered and always thinking someone is out to get him or disrespect him. This
successful NFL player is convicted of murdering his close friend also he is fighting two more first

The Health Of The Current U.s. Economy
Situation:
The health of the current U.S. economy appears to be growing gradually. The second quarter real GDP
growth was 3.7% and the unemployment rate declined to 5.3%. The U.S Federal Reserve (Fed) is
expected to raise interest rates in the near future when it sees clear signs of strong economic growth
and improvements in the job market.
The last time the Fed raised interest rates (to 5.25%) was in 2006. This move was soon reversed as the
8 trillion dollar housing market bust sparked the global financial crises. About 8.7 million jobs (about
6%) were lost, unemployment rose to about 10% nationally leaving many households with less to
spend and higher debt.
Given its mandate to maximize employment and maintain price stability, the Fed took monetary policy
actions in December 2008 to keep long term interest rates at near zero (between 0.0% and 0.25%) to
help stabilize and revive the U.S economy leaving no option for further interest rate reduction.
The U.S has a hybrid economy and is considered a large market economy, where there is no central
authority directing people what to produce or where to ship it. So, what are the implications and likely
economic consequences of an interest rate hike using the IS LM model in a closed economy and a
basic market for loanable funds?
Closed economy IS LM analysis: The IS LM model focuses on the equilibrium of the goods market
and the money market. In other words, it shows the relationship between real output and interest rates.

Open Door Policy Essay
In addition to the failure of the first aspect of the US open door policy, the second principle that the
Chinese government should be able to tax trade also failed due to internal conflict. Before the US
Open door policy in 1899 1900, the Sino Japanese war had caused chaos and fear in China. The fear
of foreign powers and another invasion was one of the main reasons for the Revolution of 1911. Led
by Sun Yat sen the revolution was a response partially to the Boxer Rebellion of 1905 and the Sino
Japanese War. The reason for the rebellion was the violation of what Sun called the 3 Principles . The
first of these three principles was called nationalism and it advocated Chinese independence from
foreign rule and because of the increasing nationalist sentiment, the people of China ... Show more

In addition to internal conflict, the second proposition of the Open Door Policy failed due to responses
to anti chinese policies in the US. Similar to the Boxer Rebellion, the Boycott of 1905 represented the
anti colonial and anti foreign sentiment the Chinese had developed through years of built up anger.
The implementation of the Open Door Policy was at just the wrong time. It was released during the
height of the Boxer Rebellion when xenophobic sentiments were at their peak (insert evidence). The
timing of the US Open Door policy in addition to the internal conflict in China lead to the Open Door
Policy becoming somewhat useless. However, the Boycott of 1905 was not a response to internal
problems, but a response to American policy that discriminated against Chinese people. Additionally,
it was not a single policy that caused this conflict, but a string a policies starting in 1882 with the
Chinese Exclusion Act, which was the first major lawful exclusion of any race in the US. Predictably,
this caused tension between American and Chinese people, as well as their

My Life With My Grandmother
One summer, when I was 11, I lived with my grandma. I was a very adventurous child and my
grandma lives in the very south side of Laredo, so whenever I would go outside, she would make my
older cousin would go with me. To keep me from going toward street, she would tell me that there was
a 1,700 year old creature called The Ripper that would take small children, rip them of their skin, and
eat their remains. Supposedly, it was snake like with faded blue and green scales, arms and legs with
six claws each, full blazing yellow eyes, and a long tail with three rows of four sharp spikes. As you
can tell, my grandma was really graphic and dramatic. In a way, her graphicness worked and kept me
away from the street. She would tell my that if I had ever went to the street and it took me, she would
never be able to get over the anguish she would feel. I was always so curious on where the creature
lived; a house, on the streets, in the drains. My mission was to find out where it lived, and defeat it. I
was really intimidated by it, but I knew that with my strength and confidence, I could do great things.
Such as, defeat the old creature.
One windy Friday night, my grandma said she needed to go to the grocery store to pick up some
materials for dinner. My grandma, like almost all others, can take up to two whole hours at the grocery
store just walking around and trying to make decisions about what to get. Her going to the store was
the perfect opportunity for me to explore. I looked

Many people may have heard of The Cheesecake Factory, however most people have never had the
chance to dine at one nor aware of such an establishment. This shows that there is room to grow and
certain target markets The Cheesecake Factory can aim for. Unfortunately, The Cheesecake Factory

There are many competitors in this industry that have been in business longer than The Cheesecake

Factory from its competitors. Also, there not many businesses are not penetrating the market for South

Research Paper On Shintoism
Shintoism is one of the two major religions in Japanese culture. The word shinto literally means the
way of the kami , or, the way of the Gods . Kami are probably the most important part of this religion,
as it s entirely based on pleasing them. Kami are spirits that are more superior than those on Earth.
Shinto followers try their hardest to please the kami and hopefully become something or someone
better in their afterlife. It is the largest and most popular religion alongside Buddhism in Japan. The
mythology of Shintoism is probably the next most important, as it supports the kami and it gives the
followers something to believe in. Shintoism overall is a very important part of everyday religions and

This list is even longer than the first and this is generally where followers imagine their ancestors to
lay in. One of the Gods, Yato, the God of wishes, is generally used in many folktales and some horror
stories, because some people believe if you contact this Kami, he will grant you a wish (Hartz, Shinto
World Religions ).
There are more than 130 shrines in Japan alone for Shintoism. This is where the Shinto followers go to
respect their Kami and basically worship them. Shintoism followers perform many rituals for their
Kami to show respect and to be able to connect with them. For example, most of these rituals involve
purification, (says Littleton, Shinto ) which is the cleansing of the person and the object being used to

The other most important Kami, (most communicated with) are Amaterasu, the sun goddess , also the
greatest of all Kami. There s also Benten, another goddess involved in the arts, Ebisu, who brings
prosperity, Hachiman, God of archery and war, Konpira, god of safety of the sea, and Susanoo, the
god of the wind. There is also Tenjin, a god of education (

Character Analysis Of Mael Lang
With its uncomplicated moral for parents to look after their children, M (Lang, 1931), the film that
Fritz Lang himself considered his best artwork, reveals the story of Hans Beckert, the man whose
perverted desires turned him into a pedophile and a serial killer. As the story goes, Fritz Lang exposes
and juxtaposes two personalities hidden in Beckert the maniac, the personality that the director
integrates into the movie first, without showing the murderer s face, and the paranoiac who is scared
of his urgencies but is too weak to resist them. Such scenes as Beckert s examination of his face in the
mirror while the police secretary describes the traits of the maniac, the maniac s transformation as he
sees the new potential victim and his attempt to hold his wrath, and the trial expose different traits of
the Beckert s personality, giving his character more complexity than just a label serial killer . The
blocking, setting of the scenes, and sound design help to reveal Beckert s nature through the film and
to built the tense and mystique atmosphere around him, drawing the spectator s attention away from
the issue of the murdered children to the development of the villain s character.
To drive the spectators empathy to the specific characters, Fritz Lang uses blocking to reveal Beckert s
personality as full as possible, juxtaposing his two conflicted personalities. For example, when Hans
Beckert talks to Elsie, he sounds rather depressed than attractive or seductive,

Will Sewage Treatment Plants Have Effect On Water Birds ...
Will sewage treatment plants have effect on water birds persistence and distribution?
Longji Deng, 100189430, Group 8
Introduction:
Anthropogenic climate warming has elevated the global temperature, and it has risen faster during the
last 40 years. There is no doubt that the temperature change has affected the biological process of
birds such as wintering, migration and breeding. (K Meller 2016) Also the increasing temperature can
cause a poleward geographical distribution.( Rachael H, et al, 2006)
It is certain that artificial ponds have positive effect on water birds breeding and migration as ponds
can provide more food and a safe space, these factors finally result in changing the distribution.
(Sánchez Zapata J A, Anadón J D, Carrete M, et al. 2015) .
Sewage treatment plants are really common and important infrastructures as they play a significant
part in daily life. Almost every river people can find at least one plants. Due to they can be considered
as special artificial ponds, they may have effects on distribution and persistence of water birds.
According to some article, we find that they do have effect of shorebirds (Jose A. Alves, et al, 2012)
However, there are no articles about if the sewage treatment plants have effect of water birds
distribution and persistence. If they do have effect, we still try to find out it s a negative effect or a
positive effect. We also try to find is there any different effects between the secondary plants and the

Unfortunately, Boeing jets were involved in four fatal air accidents from December 1988 to March
1989, and the company missed its first delivery deadline in two decades when the 747 400
experienced production delays. These internal problems were exacerbated by increased competition
from Airbus, which was heavily subsidized by a consortium of European companies and governments.
Furthermore, worldwide orders of all aircraft by the airliners declined from 1,662 in 1989 to 439 in
1991. Fortunately, in 1993 NASA selected Boeing as the prime contractor for the International Space
Station, which was called the largest international science and technology endeavor ever undertaken.
Boeing was also becoming increasingly involved in commercial space projects and in December 1995
ten commercial space satellites were produced and launched from a floating platform at sea.
In the middle of 1990 s, Boeing began its plan of acquisitions and in 1996 it paid $3.2 billion for the
aerospace and defense holdings of Rockwell International which was responsible for the Space shuttle
and International Space Station programs, as well as activities in launch systems, rocket engines,
missiles, satellites and military airplanes. Furthermore, in 1997 Boeing completed a $14 billion
acquisition of McDonnell Douglas which was the world s number three maker of commercial aircraft.

Reflection On Clinical Placement
DESCRIPTION During my clinical placement, I have done the nursing standard 2 which is engaging
in therapeutic and professional relationships. An example of one event in my placement where I have
done this standard is when doing interviews in my two week community placement at the Community
Rehabilitation in Armadale Hospital. For my reflection, I will be using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle
(1988). FEELINGS I am normally a very shy person so when we were told that we were to do
interviews on the first day of my community placement I felt scared. I did not know how to approach
people confidently let alone do an interview. I knew I could do it but I was not confident enough. I
was already feeling overwhelmed because it was my first time to be placed in a hospital.
EVALUATION The good thing in my experience would be that I got to have the experience of doing
interviews and I actually enjoyed it. I also gained more confidence in interacting with my patients. The
not so good thing would be that I have gained confidence in talking to my patients but not the staff or
the people I was working with. I was still very shy in communicating with them. ANALYSIS I have
learnt to do interviews during my placement. Because I took that step out of my comfort zone I
believe that I have learnt a lot. I have learnt to take a step out of my shell and try. I have learnt that it is
not worth getting worked up over doing interviews and talking to people, as it will be a major part of

Esla Rubrics
I was very interested in the lesson that we did with the students today because we used the ELA
rubrics to model good writing with the short and extended responses. We went through each of the
features of the short response first and showed students different examples of student s writing. They
then had to grade the student according to if it deserved 2 points, 1 point, or 0 points. By doing this the
students were able to see examples of good, fair, and bad responses. For the short response students
were able to learn that the most important feature of a short response was that it made a valid
inference or claim from the text that answered the prompt. The criteria for the expository writing was
a little more complex and took us more time to explain. Once again the students were given examples
of different levels of writing and they had to tell us what they thought the grade was and why. After
going over the rubrics we went back to an essay prompt the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

foot was equal to 12 inches and therefore 12 times 4 was 48. They then had to make the make division

She then said that the answer was 10 months because 10 was the part and 12 was the whole. This

The House of Mirth and the Gilded Age
Novelist Edith Wharton wrote her defining work, 1905 s the House of Mirth, on a subject she knew all
too well: the style over substance realm of New York s upper crust society during the Gilded Age.
Having been raised in this fashionable society, Wharton knew both its intricacies and cruelties
firsthand. The triumphant rise and tragic fall of protagonist Lily Bart demonstrate both the sunshine
and shadow of the Gilded Age. The House of Mirth not only exposes the reality of how the other half
live, but also satirizes and condemns their elitist existence. Historians refer to the 1870s, 1880s, and
1890s as America s Gilded Age. This was essentially a time when stock market trading and industrial
expansion widened the chasm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wharton never reveals whether or not Lily s death was intentional. Regardless, she is finally free of
the chains of wealth and politics that bound her on Earth. Analyzing the characters in the House of
Mirth also assists the reader in uncovering the author s intent. The only truly content character is
Lawrence Selden, who is not rich, but is self sufficient and comfortable. Lily s incredible outer beauty
cannot mask the internal suffering which she endures. This is Wharton s way of revealing the
emptiness and greed behind the glittering exterior of elite society. The Dorsets, despite their fabulous
wealth, are the most unhappy characters in the novel. Bertha is a cruel and bitter antagonist, and her
husband is a lonely, pathetic old man. Edith Wharton spent her entire life rubbing elbows with the
upper crust, yet still believed that money cannot buy happiness. The House of Mirth may be
categorized as a novel of manners, a literary genre which explores the struggle of the individual in
society, and most commonly, the way in which that struggle effects women and Lucas 4 marriage.
This genre is meant to expose the absurdities of popular convention and encourage the reader to
challenge the existing social edifice. In the most convenient definitions, Wharton s the House of Mirth
is a cautionary tale which warns of the consequences of valuing monetary wealth over emotional and
spiritual wealth,

Predestination Social Contract
Predestination and the Social Contract: A Monstrous Combination
Eighteenth century French theologian Cornelius Jansen was famous for his principle of predestination:
humans are either fated to suffer, or they are not. In other words, he believed that no number of good
acts can save one who is predestined to suffer. Another hotly debated philosophy of the time period
was that of nature versus nurture. If one s personality is determined entirely by his nature, then no
amount of social influence should be able to alter this predetermined character, a perspective not
unlike that of Jansenism. On the other hand, Romantic philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau is famous
for his belief that human beings are inherently good, but are corrupted by the evils ... Show more

The village is in a state of senseless panic, as evidenced by Shelley s words roused, fled, and attacked.
Of course, one can assume that the Creature s abnormality frightened the villagers. Fear is, according
to psychologist Mary C. Lamia, PhD, the most powerful emotion. When the villagers react with their
primal instinct to fear the hideous Creature, they transform his benign approach into a battle. In fact,
Mary Shelley finesses her diction to show war imagery when the Creature explains how [he] retreated
and found a shelter... from the barbarity of man. The word retreated characterizes an offensive
defensive relationship between the Creature and the villagers. Not only does a hostile relationship now
exist between the Creature and civilians, but the Creature feels the need to protect himself from their
barbarity. For this first civilian interaction, Shelley draws a stark contrast between the villagers
preconception of the Creature and his true nonconfrontational nature: even though the Creature is
bigger, stronger, and could probably counter their attacks, he chooses to retreat. At this point, the
Creature does not know that his appearance leaves him vulnerable to unchecked prejudice, but a
fundamental idea has been engrained in his mind: these humans are not his friends. Humanity, thanks
to its overwhelming tendency to prejudge, has made a bitter first impression. A major step in the
decision making process is weighing costs and benefits. The Creature wants to present himself as
good enough to live among humans, so he educates himself and learns language through observing the
De Lacy family. However, when the Creature attempts to introduce himself, his already fragile
impression of humankind is shattered. The Creature put much effort into gaining approval from the De
Lacys, but reaped no benefit. He laments to

Physics of Color Vision and Color Blindness Essay
What is Color?
To understand what color is, we first need to understand what light is. Light, as perceived by humans,
is simply electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths between roughly 380 nm and 740 nm.
Wavelengths below 380 nm and above 740 nm cannot be seem by the human eye. Electromagnetic
radiation with a wavelength just below 380 nm is known as ultraviolet radiation. Electromagnetic
radiation with a wavelength just above 740 nm is known as infrared radiation. The sun, black lights
and fluorescent lamps are all sources of ultraviolet light. Heat is a source of infrared radiation, which
is how thermal vision works.
Electromagnetic radiation between the wavelengths of 380 nm and 740 nm constitute light and the
human color vision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on our current knowledge, there is no observable physical explanation (in our brains or
elsewhere) as to how a 650 nm ray of light becomes red . As it stands, there s no proof that one day
you couldn t wake up with your visible color spectrum flipped. For more information on the debate
between physics and psychological interpretation of sensory experiences, search for the term qualia .
Now back to the physics (this is a physics webpage after all)...
The point is, color is a purely subjective experience that would not exist without eyes to see it. We can
only understand color based on how we see color, even though other animals can see it differently.
The human eye contains both rod cells and cone cells to interpret light. Rod cells interpret lower levels
of light than cone cells; they also do not see color. In light environments, cone cells become activated
and replace the rod cells as the primary source of visual information. Cone cells are the photoreceptors
used to discriminate color.
The human eye contains three different types of cone cells which interpret their own ranges of
electromagnetic wavelengths. These three cone cells are often oversimplified as the blue, green and
red cone cells when, in fact, they each cover a range of colors. Each cone cell s sensitivity to light is
distributed as a bell curve over a range of wavelengths. The three cone cells

The New York City s Government
New York City Government
New York City is the largest and one of the oldest cities in the United States, having been rediscovered
by Henry Hudson in 1609 while working for the Dutch East Indies Company. New Amsterdam, as it
was then known, was settled in 1614 by Dutch fur traders and became the most important port in
America. (Reed, 2011) The two rivers flowing on each side of Manhattan grant easy access to the
ocean, and Henry Hudson remarked that the harbor was the best natural harbor he had ever seen in the
world. For hundreds of years the city has been at the epicenter of world trade, and immigration to the
new world. Millions of immigrants have filled the streets of New York, from Europe, Africa, South
America, Asia, and elsewhere.
The city of New York has not always had as positive of a city government as the city s history may
suggest, however. It has had a mixed political system since its beginning, with its democratic
principles in question as corruption has taken hold of the city from time to time. Boss Tweed, a
notorious mayor from the 1860s, was so corrupt he was openly the mastermind of the city for thirty
years. His huge profit margins as a result of his control over the streetcar transportation system in that
time prevented the New York subway from being built until 1910. The Italian immigrants who came
from Sicily maintained traditional family ties, which soon became the American Mafia, which
controlled crime in the city from the 1920s until the

is by definition essential for the survival of the nation. The USA PATRIOT Act specifically defines

First of all, one could base the concept in notions about the value of human life. This asset value
approach is usually taken when the idea of continuity is considered. The way it s usually put is by
saying that the continuity, or continued operation, of a critical infrastructure is essential for the
maintenance of human life and/or the maintenance of some standard of living that people have
become accustomed to. The continuity of critical infrastructure is essential to avoid panic and hysteria
during the impact of a disaster. Every day, a person s life is shaped or affected in some way by one or
more critical infrastructures. Life, as we know it, is not possible without critical infrastructures, and
they are all connected together in a system of systems where failure in one can cascade into a failure
of all. This line of thinking is not only important to authorities who want to make sure that life stays
worth living, but it is also the hope and dream of terrorists to find that one small chunk in the armor
which makes the whole house come down. (Jena Baker McNeill and Richard Weitz, 2010) In other
words, terrorism represents the ultimate anti continuity. Yet, others approach the concept of
infrastructure as representing those things indispensable for cultural purposes. This is the thinking

Lord Of The Flies Beast Analysis
Lord of the Flies: What is a beast? Every human being has something that they are deeply afraid of.
This fear can be referred to as one s beast. This beast cannot be hunted or killed, but thrives in the evil
that lives inside all humans. Unfortunately, Sir William Golding wanted the characters in The Lord of
the Flies, to find this out the hard way. The characters believe, but some deny the fact that there is a
beast on the island on which they are stranded. They try to hunt for the beast on the island until one
day, one child, Simon, discovers the horrible truth about what the beast really is, the boys themselves.
Lord of the Flies wants readers to believe that humans are truly malevolent, and with no laws in place
to prevent humans from reverting to these evil ways, evil rises and takes over. Lord of the Flies is
written to depict how humans are truly evil when no societal norms are present, chaos breaks loose
over time. For example, the boys are stuck on an island after a plane crash killed all their parents, so
the boys have no adult supervision. To start, the boys act as if they were still in England, when Ralph
calls a meeting using an important symbol, a conch shell himself and Piggy had found in the sand. The
conch at first represents authority, Ralph, elected chief, uses it to call meetings, and whoever hold the
conch has the right to speak. The effectiveness of the conch is very successful at first, but as the boys

game or music by certain generic ideas or rules of what defines that specific genre. Stories can be
described through narrative forms, such as if the writing piece is either a short story, a novel or even a
poem or narration. Also, stories can even be characterized by either similar themes or settings and/or if
they follow a certain structure such as if a book is either defined as comedy or drama.
Daniel Chandler explains perfectly in An Introduction to Genre Theory how genre is not always
straightforward in defining things such as stories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also discuss certain books that they have written and how some people have complained that it
shouldn t be classified as a fantasy novel. Both explain how genres are now being mixed and that
sometimes, a book cannot be labeled by just one specific type of genre. I agree with some of Neil
Gaiman s statements, such as how he states that the subject of the book doesn t determine genre and
that genres only exist when there s an abundance of novels that fit that specific genre. I both partly
agree and disagree with Kazuo Ishiguro. I agree with how he believes that there are certain patterns
that are associated with the genre, however, many readers and writers take these specifications too
seriously, and believe that if you don t follow the certain standards of what makes a specific genre,
they believe that it is strange. However, I don t agree with Ishiguro when he states Books are serving
the same function as certain brands of cars or jewelry, in just denoting social position. That kind of
motivation attaches itself to reading in a way that probably doesn t attach itself to film (Ishiguro 7). I
believe that film can also motivate people the same way that books can motivate

Lieutenant Jim Cross Integrity
A leader for a good or bad cause, is a person who can gather different individuals under one accord
and move towards the same objective. They are good at inspiring people. You may not always agree
with their perspective. However, leaders are good at bringing people together. All exceptional leaders
past and present possess integrity. It takes a strong individual to be a leader, but it takes an even
stronger person to be a leader with integrity. A part of being a leader is setting standards for others to
follow. Integrity is a characteristic that does not happen overnight. It is embedded in all outstanding
leaders. Knowing to do the right thing when no one is watching takes strong determination. Talk show
host Oprah Winfrey once described ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Martin Luther King Jr. did not live by the messages he preached so profoundly, he would not have
gone down in history as one of the greatest leaders of all times. Historical Martin Luther King Jr. was
a model leader. His life and messages inspired others to change the world for the better. All leaders
should live a life that reflects their leadership. Martin Luther King Jr. did just that. Additionally, The
Things They Carried by Tim O Brien some may argue that First Lieutenant Jim Cross was not a good
leader, because one of his soldiers died at war on his watch. However, leaders are not super heroes.
They do not have super powers to predict the future. Jim Cross was a remarkable leader. He put aside
his personal situations for the lives of his soldiers. Even if that included getting rid of someone he
loved. All true leaders make sacrifices for the betterment of their supports without hesitation. A leader
should never knowingly put his or her followers in danger. First Lieutenant Cross made a mistake as
all humans do, but he never stopped being a leader he knew how to be. He only got better with time.
As a good leader, he second guessed himself because he wanted the best for his troops. He cared about
his troops. An inadequate leader would not care if one of his soldiers died. After all, the soldier knew
the possible outcome of the war. They knew the risk involved with war. Cross was caring leader who
carried the burdens of all his soldiers. As a first lieutenant and platoon leader, Jimmy Cross carried a
compass, maps, code books, binoculars, and a .45 caliber pistol that weighed 2.9 pounds fully loaded.
He carried a strobe light and the responsibility for the lives of all men (O Brien

Gail Fancher Case Study
Gail Fancher is the professor who has had a monumental impact on me. She has encouraged me to
always go new opportunities and to strive to go outside of my comfort zone. Additionally, Gail
believed in me before I even believed in myself. Her confidence in me as a dedicated student led her
to nominate me to be my college s student ambassador. Through this opportunity, I have been able to
speak at a state level recognition banquet when I was selected as Western Technical College s Student
Ambassador, and I was also able to speak at Western s commencement ceremony this year. This has

Taking Responsibility In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
When people don t take responsibility for their actions unacceptable things happen. For instance,
drunk drivers don t take control of themselves once they are intoxicated. They get behind the wheel
rather than calling a taxi, which puts other people s lives in danger. There has been 1,142 people who
were killed in crashes involving a drunk driver in Minnesota from the years 2003 2012. The theme of
not taking responsibility for their actions shows up in Mary Shelley s book Frankenstein. People say it
s a story about a monster, but it s really much more than that. Through the events of when Victor
Frankenstein creates the monster and abandons it, him not speaking at Justine s trial, and Robert
Walton turning back to save his shipmates, Shelley shows that people should take responsibility for
their actions. Victor Frankenstein s actions of creating the monster and abandoning it demonstrates the
consequences for lack of responsibility. Victor spends his career creating a monster. He creates the
monster using dead human corpses. It takes Victor almost two years to build the monster. Victor is
horrified when the monster first wakes up causing him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result of Frankenstein abandoning the monster, it goes off and does a lot of dreadful things such
as murdering most of Frankenstein s family members. The monster starts off by strangling Victor s
brother, William. William had a locket of his mother and the monster places it in Justine s pocket to
frame her. Justine later goes on trial for William s death when she is innocent. The monster causes a
lot of destruction in the Frankenstein family, because he wants revenge for Victor abandoning him. All
these things could have been avoided if Victor had not abandoned his creation and taken responsibility
for what he created. Victor should have been aware of the consequences when he decided to abandon
his hideous

Francisco Goya
Through his art, Francisco Goya relayed his feelings toward the political unrest that plagued Spain
during his lifetime. As an artist of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, Goya lived
through a time of political and social upheaval, especially throughout Europe. At the time, the ideas of
the Enlightenment had captivated the minds of Spain s most influential citizens and soon, that of Goya
s. Born in Fuendetodos, Spain, in 1746, Francisco Goya came from very humble beginnings. As the
son of a gilder, Goya grew up in the lower class of society, and even after his amazing success as court
painter to Spanish royalty, he highly identified himself with the everyday Spaniard or majo. It is this
very bond to the people that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Winter, peasants trudge through the storm with a slaughtered pig. The bright pink used in the color
of the pig is symbolic of the Rococo style. A fierce wind blows the tree to near breaking, further
communicating the harshness of the weather. Among the colorful scenes that make up this set, it is
undoubtedly in those dedicated to winter that Goya manifests, for the first time in this cartoon, a social
awareness of the everyday reality around him, the same consciousness that would evolve toward the
more extreme and dramatic works characteristic of his maturity. The social commentary of this
painting lead to its rejection by the Royal Tapestry Factory. Francisco Goya s questioning and
irreverent attitude toward life was graphically conveyed in his works. His success with the Royal
Tapestry Workshop brought his artistic talents to the attention of the Spanish monarchs who would
later give him access to the royal court. As court painter (1789), he created realistic, penetrating
portraits of his patrons. Perhaps the most notable portrait painted during this time, is that of The
Family of Charles IV. In this piece, Goya does not emphasize on any particular member of the family.
No significant focus is placed on the king, whom one would assume the portrait should predominantly
be about. He and the queen

Social Issues In Secret Ballot
In this selection of independent Iranian works, we are granted modern perspective of some social
issues that have and continue to plague the nation, as well as offering a look into the lives of several
citizens of Iran in various social and political contexts. Here we explore four controversial films,
followed by a brief overview of Fariba Vafi s novel, My Bird.
In Secret Ballot, a 2001 Iranian film directed by Babak Payami, we are exposed to many of the rural
ideals and sexist overtones that represent the prejudice that is still prevalent today in much of Iran.
When the voting agent arrives, the posted soldier expresses that her job is one to be only done by a
man, and nearly refuses to follow the order to escort her to gather votes because it did not specify that
she would be a woman. The two ride around the small island in search of eligible and willing voters.
Throughout the journey, the ballot collector is confronted with an array of hurdles due to cultural
delay in rural parts. Gathering ballots is not made easy by standoffish citizens, illiterate country folk,
and unconcerned non voters.
The sociosexual norms of the rural island from which they collect votes are clearly very different than
where the unnamed agent is from. She is independent, educated, and holds a government job, while

Rape Fantasies By Margaret Atbeck Summary
Sterilized Intrusion: Misinterpretation of the Human Feedback During the short story presented by
Mary Gaitskill and her famous work, The Other Place (2011), there in the text, is provided
displacement of what is a defection from normalization. The narrator presents himself as an apple tree
in that his son, Douglas, demonstrates a similar affection for the destruction of human persistence to
survive. In disturbance of collective headway, Margaret Atwood s Rape Fantasies (1977), expresses a
group of individuals whom take about a magazine as a conversational masterpiece through discussion
of tolerable rape. Beings residing within society who take at their own preference to go to undesirable
conditions to meet undesirable shadows of morally baseless beings. In such aspects, these stories offer
a defection from their family and friends through enjoyment of viewing individual demise and request
to be raped and violence enjoyment. Therefore, it is in these shortcomings that resolve is compiled
through carefully constructed analysis of the situation for abandonment of morality; providing
guidelines for conduct in municipal activities with removal of self endangerment at the basis of
discussion.
The problem lies within the mist of miscommunication from other resources. The inaction of these
events whether it be wanted rape or entertaining harm with action are the foundation to a more
formidable conclusion. Recognition of these occurring events such as conversation with lead in

Russian Ballet Dance In The 17th And 18th Century
Poverty and other major problems involving constant combatant situations and invasions Russia faced
in the 17th and 18th centuries led to many adaptations of performance and arts which were centered
around dancing. Due to the exclusivity of proper ballet teachings from known academies many lower
class Russian citizens were innovative in the creation of their own ballet performances. Unlike the
higher social classes who found great significance to formality and the esteem which surrounded
Russian ballet, the lower class had their own take on ballet. Lower class Russian citizens adapted
ballet dances through their peers who had commonly been instructed from a handful of other
interpretations of the dance. (Schmidt, 1988). Because the Russian ballet academies were selective
and difficult to attend many versions of the ballet were formed based upon various interpretations of
the dance. Most commonly ballet dances which were performed by those who were not receiving
ballet direction from institutions were more inventive and lively than the serious demeanor of formal
performances of Russian Ballet.
The ability of the Russian people to adapt to the popular ballet dance despite their social class
differences has great prominence in the cultural identity of the country. ... Show more content on

Sydney Water Eastern Sewerage Treatment Plant Site Report
Melbourne Water Eastern Sewerage Treatment plant Site Report There are several different
technologies used at the Eastern Treatment Plant for treating sewerage until it becomes Class A treated
effluent. An overview of the process can be seen in Figure 1 below: Figure 1: A schematic diagram
showing the overall sewerage treatment process (Melbournewater.com.au nd.) Grit filtration is used to
begin the removal of some solids and large objects and rubbish that end up in sewerage such as
plastics, condom wrappers and toys by passing the water through two filters (Melbournewater.com.au

The remnant sludge is dried leaving a biosolid high in metals and contaminants which is considered
unsafe for human contact and is currently stored onsite (Melbourne Water 2014). As with most
technology the definition of state of the art is incredibly subjective and is rooted in social and
economic issues (Diaper Sharma 2007). For the treatment of sewerage this is particularly true and it is
hard to separate technology from social and economic issues, as such both will be addressed together.
Currently most of the technology used is state of the art based on the on recent implementation of the
new upgrade to the treatment process by the addition of tertiary processing (Melbourne Water 2014).
There are always improvements in technology that could be implemented but when taking in to
consideration the low economic viability of many new technologies for a commercial scale at the
present time, the current technology is cutting edge for its purpose and cost (Melbourne Water 2014).
As new technology becomes more economical than this question will have to be readdressed. For
example a state of the art water treatment technology that could be employed would be any pressure
driven membrane filtration such as reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration
make the Category A treated effluent in to

  • 2. The Evolution Of Health Care What is quality in health care? We can divide it into three elements: 1. Care by practitioners and other providers which means receive correct diagnosis and an appropriate strategy of care from practitioners; and convenience, comfort, quite, privacy, food etc. from care providers. 2. Care Implemented by patient that means patient should take care not only for him or herself but also for his or her family. It is patient s responsibility if he or she succeed or fail of getting health care. 3. Care received by community as the whole. People should judge the social distribution of levels of quality in the community. It depends on who has an access more or less to care and after having access, receiving it in good or low quality. The evolution of health care in the United States started over 300 years ago. It is divided into six main important eras: the charitable, the educational era, the insurance era, the government era, the managed care era and the consumerism era. The charitable includes period from about 1700 to about 1830. In the beginning of this period, health care was provided voluntarily in public houses mostly for needy citizens. Those who had money could afford seen or treated at homes. The firs hospital was built in Philadelphia in 1752, after about 40 years hospital in New York opened their doors for people who need a treat. At the same time in New York state passed licensure act that person who wants to practice medicine or surgery must have been examined ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They have evolved in its primitive regions and are well suited to the hot and dangerous country, however, this evolutionary process follows that of the local wildlife where higher thought has not been made evident in these people as they engage in primitive rituals in which they murder each other as well as their children. One cannot expect them to reach the level of sophistication that the Western man has obtained. Despite the often savage and barbaric behaviour of the primitive, I believe that they can be broken into their rightful roles. The Convergence Of Methods Of Storing Files Americans today have seen the progression from old media to new media; majority, experiencing for themselves the transition from pagers to cell phones, cassettes to iPods, or paper maps to GPS devices. According to Henry Jenkins, who studies media convergence, this Convergence [where old and new media collide] represents a cultural shift as consumers are encouraged to seek out new information and make connections among dispersed media content (Jenkins 457). It is through the help of convergence that old media has developed into the new media Americans see today. The convergence of methods of storing files is an example of this. Storing files online, is taking the old media, a USB Flash Drive, and converging it into a new digital ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dropbox is a cloud storage service; a business that overlooks a users data and makes that data accessible online. Because Dropbox has introduced people to the idea of accessing wireless data, this reveals how this type of new media has changed the way that content is produced, distributed, and consumed. Although the use of either a USB Flash Drive (old media) or Dropbox (new media) maintains the same objective, that is, to provide people with alternate methods of storing data, Dropbox is becoming a standard way of accessing data with the use of the internet as a platform. This in turn, benefits Dropbox users somewhat. One benefit of transitioning from a USB Flash Drive to Dropbox is that Dropbox allows easy access to documents. Dropping files into Dropbox essentially stores these files on the online cloud, where users can access their files anywhere and at any time as long as users have access to internet connection. There are three methods in which Dropbox users can easily access their documents. The first is through the Dropbox website. Users could simply sign in and upload a document they would like to save or download an already saved file, make revisions to it, and upload the revised document. Another way Dropbox allows easy access to documents is by linking a users Dropbox account to their mobile device. This could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After finding information of the question, I realized that my question was mostly about the history of art and I could not go into depth about it as a historian would. • 8. Spirituality And Religiosity While consensus among researchers on the definition of spirituality and religiosity is lacking, what it means to be spiritual or religious and what constitutes a spiritual person in the literature is still very highly researched (Stranahan, 2008). Many definitions of religiosity and spirituality include religious service attendance, some sort of meaning and purpose in life, personal strength to cope with difficulties, and believing in a higher being (Stranahan, 2008). Older adults tend to have stronger faith and greater spirituality than younger populations (Moberg, 2005). This difference in spirituality between younger populations and older adults is possibly tied to the deepening of spiritual interests and concern during the later years (Moberg, 2005, p. 15). Older adults tend to become more religious, or turn to religion more as they age, instead of maintaining a high level of religiosity throughout their lives (Moberg, 2005). Spirituality and religiosity are very important to the aging process due to the connection observed in many studies between spiritual health and physical and mental health and well being, with religion having protective health effects. Much research has been conducted on the association between religion and spirituality and physical and mental health outcomes, especially among older adults. This paper will summarize the recent findings related to religion and spirituality and health in older adults, including a discussion on the theory of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Roger Chillingworth Character Analysis Characters to People Appearance is representative of a character s current state development along their journey of either growing as a person, or falling back into more feral tendencies that ultimately destroy their body, soul, or both. Despite what a character may express to the outside world, their appearance and actions delivers a relatable context of their hidden motives and well being thus imbuing them with human life. The outward appearance of Roger Chillingworth is one of the most distinct in the entire novel, even going as far as giving a glance into his future. When first introduced to Chillingworth, he is a quiet astute individual that is described multiple times as inquisitive and observant, traits that are red flags for a character searching for something. The work of Bethany Reid within, Narrative of the Captivity and Redemption of Roger Prynne , reveals similar sentiment. She starts her observation by noting, [In] Our first view of Roger Chillingworth... what we first observe about him underscores his mutable nature. (Reid, 46). Roger s nature starting off the story in this fashion is consistent to his inner motives; he simply wishes to learn more about Hester and her whereabouts. However, critics might argue that at least as far as subject matter goes, the Renaissance very much alludes to the religious themes of contemporary art. What, then, were other differences from contemporary art in comparison to Renaissance? Despite the similarities to modern art surrounding subject matter, there can be no doubt that that Renaissance artists broke the static mold of contemporary art. The sculptures created in the Renaissance era saw the use of new techniques and styles that were never used before. The artwork had a huge impact of humanism on the different artists in this era. Starting around the 14th century and ending around the beginning of the 17th century the Renaissance era art was all about realistic linear perspective where the artist would observe objects from close and far and then paint it. This enabled the artist to get a lot of depth in his or her sculptures. Also, the art changed to depicting joy of human emotions and pleasures of life. On the other hand, art of today, also known as contemporary art, started a few years after World War II up to present day. During this period, different art movements occurred that influenced artists all over the world. The second quarter real GDP growth was 3.7% and the unemployment rate declined to 5.3%. The U.S Federal Reserve (Fed) is expected to raise interest rates in the near future when it sees clear signs of strong economic growth and improvements in the job market. The last time the Fed raised interest rates (to 5.25%) was in 2006. This move was soon reversed as the 8 trillion dollar housing market bust sparked the global financial crises. About 8.7 million jobs (about 6%) were lost, unemployment rose to about 10% nationally leaving many households with less to spend and higher debt. Given its mandate to maximize employment and maintain price stability, the Fed took monetary policy actions in December 2008 to keep long term interest rates at near zero (between 0.0% and 0.25%) to help stabilize and revive the U.S economy leaving no option for further interest rate reduction. Character Analysis Of Mael Lang With its uncomplicated moral for parents to look after their children, M (Lang, 1931), the film that Fritz Lang himself considered his best artwork, reveals the story of Hans Beckert, the man whose perverted desires turned him into a pedophile and a serial killer. As the story goes, Fritz Lang exposes and juxtaposes two personalities hidden in Beckert the maniac, the personality that the director integrates into the movie first, without showing the murderer s face, and the paranoiac who is scared of his urgencies but is too weak to resist them. Such scenes as Beckert s examination of his face in the mirror while the police secretary describes the traits of the maniac, the maniac s transformation as he sees the new potential victim and his attempt to hold his wrath, and the trial expose different traits of the Beckert s personality, giving his character more complexity than just a label serial killer . The blocking, setting of the scenes, and sound design help to reveal Beckert s nature through the film and to built the tense and mystique atmosphere around him, drawing the spectator s attention away from the issue of the murdered children to the development of the villain s character. To drive the spectators empathy to the specific characters, Fritz Lang uses blocking to reveal Beckert s personality as full as possible, juxtaposing his two conflicted personalities. Unfortunately, Boeing jets were involved in four fatal air accidents from December 1988 to March 1989, and the company missed its first delivery deadline in two decades when the 747 400 experienced production delays. • 33. Reflection On Clinical Placement DESCRIPTION During my clinical placement, I have done the nursing standard 2 which is engaging in therapeutic and professional relationships. An example of one event in my placement where I have done this standard is when doing interviews in my two week community placement at the Community Rehabilitation in Armadale Hospital. For my reflection, I will be using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988). FEELINGS I am normally a very shy person so when we were told that we were to do interviews on the first day of my community placement I felt scared. I did not know how to approach people confidently let alone do an interview. I knew I could do it but I was not confident enough. I was already feeling overwhelmed because it was my first time to be placed in a hospital. EVALUATION The good thing in my experience would be that I got to have the experience of doing interviews and I actually enjoyed it. I also gained more confidence in interacting with my patients. The not so good thing would be that I have gained confidence in talking to my patients but not the staff or the people I was working with. I was still very shy in communicating with them. ANALYSIS I have learnt to do interviews during my placement. Because I took that step out of my comfort zone I believe that I have learnt a lot. I have learnt to take a step out of my shell and try. I have learnt that it is not worth getting worked up over doing interviews and talking to people, as it will be a major part of my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The House of Mirth and the Gilded Age Novelist Edith Wharton wrote her defining work, 1905 s the House of Mirth, on a subject she knew all too well: the style over substance realm of New York s upper crust society during the Gilded Age. In fact, Mary Shelley finesses her diction to show war imagery when the Creature explains how [he] retreated and found a shelter... from the barbarity of man. The word retreated characterizes an offensive defensive relationship between the Creature and the villagers. Not only does a hostile relationship now exist between the Creature and civilians, but the Creature feels the need to protect himself from their barbarity. For this first civilian interaction, Shelley draws a stark contrast between the villagers preconception of the Creature and his true nonconfrontational nature: even though the Creature is bigger, stronger, and could probably counter their attacks, he chooses to retreat. At this point, the Creature does not know that his appearance leaves him vulnerable to unchecked prejudice, but a fundamental idea has been engrained in his mind: these humans are not his friends. Electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength just below 380 nm is known as ultraviolet radiation. Electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength just above 740 nm is known as infrared radiation. We can only understand color based on how we see color, even though other animals can see it differently. The human eye contains both rod cells and cone cells to interpret light. Rod cells interpret lower levels of light than cone cells; they also do not see color. In light environments, cone cells become activated and replace the rod cells as the primary source of visual information. Cone cells are the photoreceptors used to discriminate color. The human eye contains three different types of cone cells which interpret their own ranges of electromagnetic wavelengths. The New York City s Government New York City Government New York City is the largest and one of the oldest cities in the United States, having been rediscovered by Henry Hudson in 1609 while working for the Dutch East Indies Company. New Amsterdam, as it was then known, was settled in 1614 by Dutch fur traders and became the most important port in America. This beast cannot be hunted or killed, but thrives in the evil that lives inside all humans. Unfortunately, Sir William Golding wanted the characters in The Lord of the Flies, to find this out the hard way. The characters believe, but some deny the fact that there is a beast on the island on which they are stranded. They try to hunt for the beast on the island until one day, one child, Simon, discovers the horrible truth about what the beast really is, the boys themselves. Lord of the Flies wants readers to believe that humans are truly malevolent, and with no laws in place to prevent humans from reverting to these evil ways, evil rises and takes over. Lord of the Flies is written to depict how humans are truly evil when no societal norms are present, chaos breaks loose over time. For example, the boys are stuck on an island after a plane crash killed all their parents, so the boys have no adult supervision. Stories can be described through narrative forms, such as if the writing piece is either a short story, a novel or even a poem or narration. As the son of a gilder, Goya grew up in the lower class of society, and even after his amazing success as court painter to Spanish royalty, he highly identified himself with the everyday Spaniard or majo. It is this very bond to the people that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Winter, peasants trudge through the storm with a slaughtered pig. The bright pink used in the color of the pig is symbolic of the Rococo style. A fierce wind blows the tree to near breaking, further communicating the harshness of the weather. Among the colorful scenes that make up this set, it is undoubtedly in those dedicated to winter that Goya manifests, for the first time in this cartoon, a social awareness of the everyday reality around him, the same consciousness that would evolve toward the more extreme and dramatic works characteristic of his maturity. The social commentary of this painting lead to its rejection by the Royal Tapestry Factory. Francisco Goya s questioning and irreverent attitude toward life was graphically conveyed in his works. His success with the Royal Tapestry Workshop brought his artistic talents to the attention of the Spanish monarchs who would later give him access to the royal court. As court painter (1789), he created realistic, penetrating portraits of his patrons. Perhaps the most notable portrait painted during this time, is that of The Family of Charles IV. In this piece, Goya does not emphasize on any particular member of the family. No significant focus is placed on the king, whom one would assume the portrait should predominantly be about. Social Issues In Secret Ballot In this selection of independent Iranian works, we are granted modern perspective of some social issues that have and continue to plague the nation, as well as offering a look into the lives of several citizens of Iran in various social and political contexts. Here we explore four controversial films, followed by a brief overview of Fariba Vafi s novel, My Bird. In Secret Ballot, a 2001 Iranian film directed by Babak Payami, we are exposed to many of the rural ideals and sexist overtones that represent the prejudice that is still prevalent today in much of Iran. When the voting agent arrives, the posted soldier expresses that her job is one to be only done by a man, and nearly refuses to follow the order to escort her to gather votes because it did not specify that she would be a woman. The two ride around the small island in search of eligible and willing voters. Throughout the journey, the ballot collector is confronted with an array of hurdles due to cultural delay in rural parts. Gathering ballots is not made easy by standoffish citizens, illiterate country folk, and unconcerned non voters. The sociosexual norms of the rural island from which they collect votes are clearly very different than where the unnamed agent is from. She is independent, educated, and holds a government job, while many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The narrator presents himself as an apple tree in that his son, Douglas, demonstrates a similar affection for the destruction of human persistence to survive. In disturbance of collective headway, Margaret Atwood s Rape Fantasies (1977), expresses a group of individuals whom take about a magazine as a conversational masterpiece through discussion of tolerable rape. Beings residing within society who take at their own preference to go to undesirable conditions to meet undesirable shadows of morally baseless beings. In such aspects, these stories offer a defection from their family and friends through enjoyment of viewing individual demise and request to be raped and violence enjoyment. • 50. Russian Ballet Dance In The 17th And 18th Century Poverty and other major problems involving constant combatant situations and invasions Russia faced in the 17th and 18th centuries led to many adaptations of performance and arts which were centered around dancing. Due to the exclusivity of proper ballet teachings from known academies many lower class Russian citizens were innovative in the creation of their own ballet performances. Unlike the higher social classes who found great significance to formality and the esteem which surrounded Russian ballet, the lower class had their own take on ballet. Lower class Russian citizens adapted ballet dances through their peers who had commonly been instructed from a handful of other interpretations of the dance. (Schmidt, 1988). Because the Russian ballet academies were selective and difficult to attend many versions of the ballet were formed based upon various interpretations of the dance. Most commonly ballet dances which were performed by those who were not receiving ballet direction from institutions were more inventive and lively than the serious demeanor of formal performances of Russian Ballet. The ability of the Russian people to adapt to the popular ballet dance despite their social class differences has great prominence in the cultural identity of the country. ... Sydney Water Eastern Sewerage Treatment Plant Site Report Melbourne Water Eastern Sewerage Treatment plant Site Report There are several different technologies used at the Eastern Treatment Plant for treating sewerage until it becomes Class A treated effluent. An overview of the process can be seen in Figure 1 below: Figure 1: A schematic diagram showing the overall sewerage treatment process (Melbournewater.com.au nd.) Grit filtration is used to begin the removal of some solids and large objects and rubbish that end up in sewerage such as plastics, condom wrappers and toys by passing the water through two filters (Melbournewater.com.au nd.). The remnant sludge is dried leaving a biosolid high in metals and contaminants which is considered unsafe for human contact and is currently stored onsite (Melbourne Water 2014). As with most technology the definition of state of the art is incredibly subjective and is rooted in social and economic issues (Diaper Sharma 2007). For the treatment of sewerage this is particularly true and it is hard to separate technology from social and economic issues, as such both will be addressed together. Currently most of the technology used is state of the art based on the on recent implementation of the new upgrade to the treatment process by the addition of tertiary processing (Melbourne Water 2014). There are always improvements in technology that could be implemented but when taking in to consideration the low economic viability of many new technologies for a commercial scale at the present time, the current technology is cutting edge for its purpose and cost (Melbourne Water 2014). As new technology becomes more economical than this question will have to be readdressed. For example a state of the art water treatment technology that could be employed would be any pressure driven membrane filtration such as reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration make the Category A treated effluent in to ...
