As college costs continue to rise, more and more students are discouraged from furthering their
education and reaching their capabilities to the fullest. In today s society, a college education is
essential for a good career. Based off a Edward Jones survey, 83% of Americans say they cannot
afford the expense of a college education. Growing up in public schools, college has always been
slipped into conversations. Especially in high school, our teachers are preparing us for college.
However, they are not preparing us for our future careers or how to obtain a household income, just
simply for us to attend college. We are taught about the importance of college, but never warned about
the cost of tuition and how to pay for it. In my own personal experience I was not taught how to pay
for college but to just go, just figure it out and go. On average, an in state college is $10,000 a year.
The average american family has an income of around $55,000, however, the average family also
spends around $60,000 a year on bills and necessary items. With this being said, are our tuition rates

My general areas of interest are numerical modeling and tropical meteorology. For example,
numerical simulation models of tropical cyclones is the problem that interest me most in atmospheric
science. Based on one or two problems in tropical meteorology or related fields, I hope to work based
on the existing models, and make unique contributions. My ultimate goal is to develop skills to
become a sophisticated researcher and teacher in the field, while pursuing a doctorate degree in

My interest on PDEs dates back to high school. Since typhoons frequently struck my hometown, I
developed interest in the forecast of tropical cyclones. Guided by a net pal with a master s degree in
meteorology, I started to systematically study the basics of weather prediction. However, when

My Desire to Work in Game Development
As a child all I wanted to do was rule the world, I noticed early on in my childhood that all aspects of
computer games development especially programming and games design could help me accomplish
this. I have been playing computer games since before even the PlayStation 2 was released when my
brother got a PlayStation from a another family member. For as much as I have enjoyed, experienced a
wide range of platforms, games and retain my love for this form of entertainment. One of my favourite

This experiment was first designed to investigate how people would conform to the roles of guard and
prisoner in a role playing exercise that simulated prison life (Mcleod 1). Zimbardo was interested in
