Themes in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn which...
Mark Twain s novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), commonly known as Huckleberry
Finn or Huck Finn, colorfully depicts people and places along the great Mississippi River. the novel
contains a collection of themes which transcend time and cultural boundaries. It tells of a poor white
buy running from a brutal parent, and an African American man attempting to escape and free his
himself from slavery. The main character, Huckleberry Finn, spends much time in the novel floating
down the Mississippi River on a raft with a runaway slave named Jim. Before he does so, however,
Huck spends some time in the fictional town of St. Petersburg where a number of people attempt to
influence him. Life is a journey which involves physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He tells Huck of his plans to be a free man and make his way to the Cairo, Illinois a free state. Initially
Huck is opposed to the Jim s quest for freedom. Their meetings together, however, radically changed
not only Huck s perception about slavery, life and people as a whole. Jim and Huck reside on Jackson
Island for a time as they wait out bad weather. One night they come upon not just a raft but an entire
house floating down river which eventually becomes their mode of transportation. While inspecting
the house, Jim discovers Pap s dead body in one of the rooms. He hides Pap s face from Huck and
does not reveal his true identity. Huck decides he wants to find out the latest happenings in the local
area so he disguises himself as a girl and travel into town. He learns from a woman that Jim has been
accused of killing Pap and that there is a $ 300.00 award for his capture. The woman is suspect of
Huck s identity and forces Huck to reveal himself when he has trouble threading a need. Fleeing
before she can take further action, Huck returns to Jackson Island. He and Jim hurriedly load up and
set adrift down the Mississippi for Cairo.
Missing their destination, a passing steamship swamps the raft and separates the two. Huck finds

Analysis Of Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill
In a piece of literary work there are many aspects that go along with having the reader be able to
engage with and understand the story the narrator is telling. Literary aspects like tone, symbolism and
setting is an extremely important part in understanding how and why a character acts. Knowing the
time and place a story is set in helps the reader understand what is going on, who the characters are,
and sets the reader up to understand the story that is about to unfold.
The setting of a story is a combination of place and time. In Katherine Mansfield s short story Miss
Brill, the place is set immediately, the blue sky powdered with gold and great spots of light like white
wine splashed over the Jardins Publiques (Mansfield,72). Form this the reader can gather that this
story is set in a public park in France. The narrator goes on to tell us it Sunday afternoon and the main
character, Miss Brill, likes to sit on a bench in this particular park and people watch. The time it takes
place is not specifically mentioned but one can gather that she is an old woman who is very fond of
her fox fur that is most likely not in fashion anymore. This is made explicit from the comments made
by the young couple sitting next to her, It s her fu fur which is so funny (Mansfield, 75).
The character of Miss Brill is somewhat difficult to understand because in a way she doesn t really
understand herself and in the story one can see that she used her fur, in a sense, to symbolize what her

World War I During The World Of Russia
1) The Chechens have been a thorn in the side of Russia for centuries, with constant upsurges of
independence and oppression. Never the less, Chechnya was a useful thorn, located on the north slope
of the Caucasus Mountains within 100 kilometres of the Caspian Sea, Chechnya is strategically vital
to Russia for two reasons. First, access routes to both the Black Sea and Caspian Sea go through
Chechnya, as well as oil and vital gas pipelines connecting Russia with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
The Chechens were the most active opponents of Russia s conquest (1818 1917) of the Caucasus.
They fought bitterly during an unsuccessful 1850s rebellion led by Imam Shamyl. The Chechens are a

was repeated at 12 locations. An eye witness Dziyaudin Malsagov described how the horrified
desperate screams of women and children reverberated through out the building . The few survivers
were only allowed to return in 1957 after Stalin s death.
Upon return, ethnic Russians had taken over their land and homes with many Chechens having to buy
their own homes back. Clashes and hatred between Chechens and Russians living within Chechen
territories persisted to present times. A local, Ramazan Abdulatiov, supporting this attitude, said that, a

After the soviet collapse of 1991, neighbouring Georgia s recent successful secession attempt inspired
a Chechen separatist movement. General Dzhokhar Dudayev led Chechnya s drive for independence,
however the president of the newly formed Russian federation, Boris Yeltsin, refused Chechnya s
declaration of Independence, sending in 40 000 troops instead, only to withdraw when confronted by
armed Chechens. Yeltsin was not expecting to be confronted with such a force, after being told by his

Examples Of Group Dynamics In 12 Angry Men
It s Possible : How Group Dynamics Affect their Outcomes
As the courtroom drama film 12 Angry Men celebrates its 60th anniversary, there is no doubt to why it
remains a cinematic classic. Its strategic cinematography, accurate perceptions of human character,
and topical issues creates an exposure of group dynamics that is still relevant today. As we see Henry
Fonda s character, Juror #8, swing the verdict of a trial away from an 11 1 vote against the defendant
to a consensus for his freedom, many different elements of organizational behaviour are displayed.
How the group forms, acts, and interacts as time progresses are attributed to a multitude of internal
and external factors. Despite the simplicity of setting and premise, 12 Angry Men remains a beloved
film. It s authenticity of human behaviour, particularly in relation to conformity, team interaction, and
leadership, resonates with its audience as it tries to, as Juror #3 would say, talk about facts. Ultimately,
12 Angry Men s cinematographic balance of realism and sentimentalism in its story aptly summate the
struggles of the characters as they overcome the obstacles of group conflicts while addressing their
own moral qualms.
There are two important group development stages that occur in 12 Angry Men. The movie s
characters and tone is set during the forming stage, where the characters are first introduced into the
team. During this stage, the members ask themselves Can my needs be met at the same time that I
contribute to the group? Juror #7 makes his needs clear when he states we can get all get out of here
pretty quick...I happen to have tickets to that ball game tonight . By informing the group that he has
motivation to leave, he is likewise inferring that his commitment to the group will be low. Similarly in
this stage, the members learn more about each other and their personalities. Juror #3 sets himself as a
self titled experienced and pragmatic juror, telling others that I ve sat on many juries...I d slap those
tough kids down before they start any trouble. Consequently, as the jurors reveal more about each
other, the characters develop a solid inference on each other s individual personalities, and thus can
better predict the group s

The Theme Of Balance In Ursula Leguin s A Wizard Of Earthsea
The balance of light and dark has been off kilter forever and the balance has never been obtained! In
the fantasy novel A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula LeGuin, the battle of light and dark has subsided,
balance has been restored, and shows the journey of discovering one s identity. At the end of the
novel, when the shadow and Ged conjoin it can be seen as the realization of one s identity, as well the
discovering of balance. LeGuin uses symbols in the novel to convey what is happening on a deeper
level. At the beginning of the end, the sea turned into sand as Ged approached his shadow, which can
be seen as a balance, when two opposites, such as sea and sand, become one. It shows when two
opposites find a middle point and are at peace as opposed to constantly battering against one another.
This instance can also be seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Light and dark have been unbalanced, waging on since the beginning of time, until they find a balance
where each has met its match. When Ged, with his flaming white staff merges with the pitch black
shadow, and emerging as one may be seen as if they have made peace at a set point and created
equilibrium, as previously discussed by Yarrow and Ged. When this occurs, Ged finally becomes a
whole self by recognizing who he is, and his balance of positive and negative decisions .Also, in the
interaction between Ged and the shadow on the yin and yang island, Ged spoke his own name and
embraced the shadow. Ying and Yang are seen as a duality forming a whole so when Ged and the
shadow unite, it can symbolize discovering his whole identity. Since often times darkness represents
evil, it can be seen as when Ged embraced the shadow, he is accepting his past decisions and dark side
that can overcome him at any time. It is a part of growing up and finding who you really are, to realize
your past faults, and accept what you did and move

Specific Gravity Research Paper
!!!What Is Specific Gravity? When we go out in the summer to enjoy the pools and the rivers, we
always have to make sure that all our equipment and safety measures are working and in place. When
we go to the river and get on our boats, we make sure the boat has no leaks and we have our safety
vest on. For young children who are still learning how to swim, we make sure they have their floaters
on or we swim with them in a swim ring to make sure they do not sink. Why is it that boats, and swim
rings float, as shown in the picture below? There are many factors that determine if an object will sink
or float in water, and one of these factors is what we call the specific gravity. [{Image src=

Solution: [{Image src= example3specificgravity.png alt= Example 3 Solution }] !!!Lesson Summary
The specific gravity of an object is the ratio between the density of an object to a reference object, in
our case, our reference object is water with a density of 1 g/mL or 1 g/cm^3. Because the density is
directly related to the mass, the specific gravity can also be determined from the ratios of the mass of
the object to the mass of water, or the weight of the object to the weight of water. The specific gravity
has no units and its value determines if the object will float or sink in water. If the specific gravity has
a value of greater than 1 , then the object sinks in water and if it is less than 1 , then the object floats in
water . The specific gravity is a very important factor in different industries. For instance, it helps ship
builders and boat builders in determining the best materials to build their vessels. It is also very
important in the jewelry business in determining if the stones and minerals are genuine. It is also
important in the environmental aspect when determining if there are oil spills or in identifying
unknown artifacts in

The Bolshevik Revolution And The Revolution
The Bolshevik revolution started in February 1917 and concluded in October with the seizure of
power. There were different aspects that lead to this victory. Bolsheviks had been a minority
previously, but after 1917 February they started gaining members rapidly and by 1917 October they
had 350, 000 members in the party. To see how they finally were victorious one would have to look at
the revolution as a longer phenomenon that took months to reach a final result. The workers were
significant to the Bolshevik revolution, especially in comparison to the other classes who contributed,
but did not have the same power over the events as the workers did. Looking at the revolutionary
period, there were times when if the workers had not supported ... Show more content on

Therefore, there were many violent uprisings that the government could not put an end to during the
summer of 1917. Moreover, at that time soldiers thought that after the fall of the Tsar the war would
be over, but with that as well the Provisional Government decided to wait until the Constituent
Assembly had been elected. This lead to mass desertions from the trenches and the front. The situation
was only improved with Order no. 1 by the Soviet as they took control over the army and created a
democratized army that has been criticized by being too weak, but at that time it did settle the soldiers
for a while. Furthermore, it gained stronger support from the soldiers to the Soviet power. With the
peasantry the Bolsheviks did use the chaos in the countryside for their gain, but other than that they
were not a peasant party nor did they think this was the right moment to interact with them. Trotsky
believed that Bolsheviks used the peasant situation, but only the workers could win the revolution and
only after seizing power could an agrarian reformation be worked into the Bolshevik plan, thus
winning over the peasants later. Also, the party leaders were not that closely related to the workers and
they certainly were not close to the peasants, none of the leaders understood the peasants and most did
not deem them important to the revolutionary

The World s First Atomic Bomb
What started out as a secret, yet modest research project, headed by the United States Army Corp of
Engineers in the borough of New York City, soon escalated into the largest and most expensive
operation the country had ever performed. With a cost of over two billion dollars what was to become
known as the Manhattan Project employed tens of thousands of people who lived and worked in three
top secret locations. The project consisted of the country s best and brightest scientists. All of whom
were in an urgent race against their German counter parts. With World War II raging in Europe
everyone involved was acutely aware that the ruthless dictator Hitler would not stop until his scientists
had created the worst weapon the world had ever seen. A weapon of mass destruction. And so, in order
to defeat Germany and save millions of lives the Manhattan Project scientists strove to win the race to
build the world s first atomic bomb. In 1938 German chemists Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassmann were
bombarding uranium with neutrons and discovering that they were left with the new substance barium.
They did not quite understand why this was occurring and corresponded with their colleague Lise
Meitner. Meitner was able to form an explanation by taking into consideration the earlier discoveries
of physicists Neils Bohr and Albert Einstein. According to the Berkeley Nuclear Research Center, she
concluded that uranium nuclei had split to form barium and krypton, accompanied by the

Anne Moody grew up in the south as a sharecropper on a plantation in the postwar south that still had

The Creation Of Mickey Mouse In The 1920 s
The 1920s, nicknamed the roaring 20s, was a time of new dance, clothing, and cartoons. People doing
the Charleston, woman daring society by dressing in heels and dresses, and people creating exciting
new cartoons. Betty Boop, Felix the Cat, Bugs Bunny, and of course Mickey Mouse were all popular
cartoons in the 1920s. Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney and was arguably the most famous
cartoon character in the 20s. Disney created Mickey Mouse and produced the first full length animated
movie (Schickel). During this time one of the greatest cartoon icons was created by Walt Disney after
his distributor stole his first character and it led to the creation of the most recognizable cartoon
character, Mickey Mouse.
Before Walt Disney s creation of Mickey Mouse he went through some struggles. He did not always
own his own business. He worked with a small group of men, who abandon him (Watts, 25). They
abandon him due to the fact the business was falling apart and running out of money. After being
abandoned, he sought out for work as a cartoon artist for two newspaper companies but was turned
down both times. After job hunting for many months, Disney befriended Iwerks and began working on

This is a race that is categorized by its ability to be completely unpredictable. Why walk and turn left
or right, jog or run, go fast or slow, why do any of the things you do and when you do them? Life is
full of choices, as humans we ve a right to take advantage of the many possibilities. There can t be any
one incentive. As people of many choices, it is us that decide what the temptation to lie is, and there
always is one.
People have made every excuse for their behavior. In which case, a less than truthful approach has
always seemed appealing. They don t want to hurt their loved ones, the truth can hurt, they didn t
think of it as lying at the time, they thought nobody would get hurt, it seemed fun at the time, they
were trying to protect someone, they were afraid, etc. At the core of it all, the only reason a liar lies is
for self preservation. When someone is insincere they are so because they believe that is their only
way out or because that is easier. Lying is never simple.
Who lies? From mothers to fathers, children to brothers and sisters, everybody lies. In a few
interviews of the college students in the University of Dayton, the results of inquiries about why lying
is bad, proved inconclusive. Many people believe that there is a distinction between being dishonest
and telling lies. Yet, at the root of the problem is the lack of understanding that there is

Essay Feminism and the Shakespeare s Works
Feminism and the Shakespeare s Works
By examining Shakespeare s treatment of familial ties in his plays The Life and Death of King John
and The Winter s Tale, we can see how his attitudes and opinions towards family relationships
evolved. In King John (written between 1594 and 1596), Shakespeare adopts what was then a fairly
conventional attitude towards family relationships: his characters never question the highly patriarchal
family hierarchy. They also assume that the majority of wives will be unfaithful, simply because they
are female however, they take the charge of adultery rather lightly. By contrast, in The Winter s Tale
(written between 1610 and 1611), he adopts a much more progressive, feminist view of family ...

Their conversation disturbingly resembles a sinner s confession to her priest. She tells Robert, Heaven
lay not my transgression to my charge! (1.1.256). He replies by assuring her, And they shall say, when
Richard me begot,/ If thou hadst said him nay, it had been sin./ Who says it was, he lies; I say twas not
(1.1.274 76). This obviously highlights the power differential between the Lady and her son.
The most vivid example of King John s patriarchalism is found in the character of John s niece
Blanche. Her entire life rests on the men in it, namely, King John and Lewis the Dauphin. King John
marries her to the Dauphin, because, as Eleanor advises him, For by this knot thou shalt so surely tie
Thy now unsured assurance to the crown
That yon green boy shall have no sun to ripe
The bloom that promiseth a mighty fruit (2.1.471 474).
After Blanche s marriage, Lewis uses her claim to the throne as the fault was hers / Which fault lies on
the hazards of all husbands/ That marry wives (1.1.118 20). No one contradicts either of them.
Additionally, when Constance and Queen Eleanor begin to argue, they accuse each other of infidelity
and call each other s sons bastards. All of this shows that in King John, women were assumed to be
less faithful than men.
Despite the fact that wives adultery undermines the entire family structure by calling a man s heir s
legitimacy into doubt,

European Travel and the Spread of Western Ideology Essay
European Travel and the Spread of Western Ideology
Humans began their existence as travelers, slowly making their way across the earth hunting and
gathering. This travel was quite slow and gradual, and could be termed a period of human expansion ,
as traveling groups rarely encountered other humans. It really wasn t until the sixteenth century that a
new kind of travel developed, a kind that was more global, occurred rapidly, and was filled with many
encounters with other civilizations. This sort of travel signified not simply the spreading of humans
across the earth, but more the spreading of ideas among people. And during this particular period, the
travelers were predominantly European, and so it was Europeans who, believing in ... Show more

The Europeans had a huge effect on the local peoples in the various regions that they visited. For one
thing, they brought with them many germs. As Diamond noted, the importance of lethal microbes in
history is well illustrated by Europeans conquest and depopulation of the New World (210). The
microbes killed Aztecs, Inca, and the populations of many Indian towns in the Mississippi.
Additionally, Eurasian germs played a key role in decimating native peoples in many other parts of the
world, including Pacific Islanders, Aboriginal Australians, and the Khoisan peoples of Southern
Africa... the Indian population of Hispaniola... Fiji (Diamond, 213). Because of this, European
immigrants came to supplant... much of the native population of the Americas and some other parts of
the world. (Diamond, 214). So, it came to be true that, if in nothing else, the Europeans certainly came
to outnumber many of the native peoples in many of the areas that they occupied. This gave them
added power over them, if only because of their larger numbers.
However, it was not simply the germs that the Europeans brought with them that altered life for the
native people. The technology that the Europeans had, while at first not superior, quickly became
superior. The Europeans rapidly improved upon [military technology naval artillery and sailing ships]

to edit a presentation with teammates without emailing files back and forth. As for purchasable
software, there s the Microsoft Suite which includes, Outlook, Word, Power Point, One Note, Access,

Crime Scenes Ted Bundy was known to impersonate police officers in order to lure young college
women into his car. He was also know to impersonate authority figures, such as police officers and
fire fighters, to gain victims trust before he attacked ( Ted Bundy , 2017). He would then get them into

The Haitian Revolution
It is no secret that the Caribbean fails to get the credit it rightfully deserves. One is taught to embrace
the history of the United States and Europe. However, when told to recite the names of Caribbean
legends, the room becomes silent. It is rare that one is taught the impact that the Caribbean has made
all over the world. This is a shame because one of the most important events transpired in the
Caribbean. In a small colony by the name Saint Domingue, which is currently known as Haiti, a slave
rebellion that resulted in many causalities shook the world. This rebellion is called the Haitian
Revolution. The Haitian Revolution is one of the largest slave revolts that have ever occurred. Finally

Although the Haitian Revolution was influenced by the French Revolution, the idea of a black
resistance was nothing new. The practice of marronage, a runaway slave, was so old that one s
textbook was not able to go back that far. Black rebellions existed all throughout the Western
Hemisphere, however, they failed to make a huge mark in history like the Haitian Revolution. The
Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen was passed on August 26, 1789, in France which
stated, The representatives of the French people, constituted as a National Assembly, and considering
that ignorance, neglect, or contempt of the rights of man are the sole causes of public misfortunes and
governmental corruption, have resolved to set forth in a solemn declaration the natural, inalienable
and sacred rights of man: so that by being constantly present to all the members of the social body this
declaration may always remind them of their rights and duties; so that by being liable at every moment
to comparison with the aim of any and all political institutions the acts of the legislative and executive
powers may be the more fully respected; and so that by being founded henceforward on simple and
incontestable principles the demands of the citizens may always tend toward maintaining the
constitution and the general welfare. (Hunt 77 79). This created a lot of controversy. The French are

Foot odor is a disease which is scientifically known as bromhidrosis sweaty and smelly feet. While
neither painful nor contagious, foot odor causes unmitigated social suffering to those who are
burdened with it. Under normal conditions each of your feet produces half a pint of sweat by means by
means of some 20,000 sweat glands. In most people, this perspiration evaporates. In people with
bromhidrosis, however , more sweat is produced, and it doesn t evaporate as easily, which will result
to odoriferous feet. In the presence of bacteria, these sweaty secretions break down, generating a foul
smell . Obviously washing away the bacteria and drying very carefully can temporarily make your feet

German Tanks During World War 2
Introduction
During World War II, Nazi Germany developed numerous tank designs, each with varying levels of
success. Out of these designs, the Panzer IV, Tiger I, and Tiger II tanks proved to be the most effective
tanks produced by Nazi Germany. This impressive battle record is shown through the performances of
the tanks themselves as well as the German implementation and tactics involved in using their
armored divisions. The potency of their designs is shown through the analysis of their specifications
and performances during multiple battles. In addition to the characteristics of their designs and their
successes in the battlefield, these tanks were also effective due to tactical innovation. German armored
divisions during World War II proved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike the Panzer III, the Panzer IV was initially designed as an infantry support tank, not to combat
enemy tanks. However, with the inadequacy of the Panzer III against Soviet T 34 tanks becoming
more noticeable, the Panzer IV quickly adopted the function of its increasingly susceptible relative.
Soon becoming the most widely manufactured and distributed German tank of the war, the Panzer IV
saw action in all combat theatres regarding Germany and was the only German tank to remain in
continuous production throughout World War II. In the Eastern Front, an especially influential upgrade
of the Panzer IV s main armament was an enhancement from the original 75mm gun to a much longer,
higher velocity 75mm gun. This allowed the Panzer IV to overcome its greatest rival, the Russian T 34
tank, with extreme ease. Able to destroy a T 34 at any range up to 1,200 meters from any angle, this
barrel upgrade transformed the Panzer IV from a close support tank to the best main battle tank of the

Reconstruction Of The American Civil War
Minkyo Seo May 26, 2016 Reconstruction As the American Civil War came to a close, the United
States started to revamp the country, during what became known as the Reconstruction Era.
Throughout this Period of time (1865 1877), the authorities attempted to fix America politically,
economically, and physically. The United States unfortunately faced struggles, when people were
evidently unable to adapt themselves to the era. As a result of bringing an attempt to come back from
the defeat, the result was insufficient. This clearly shows that the Reconstruction Era was certainly not
a success because the changes created by the government failed to make positive changes to society.
There were numerous of conflicts in The Civil War and Problems the Nation was Faced with that led
up to the reconstruction. One of the origins of the war was Sectionalism. Sectionalism is the devotion
to the interests of one geographic region over interests of the country in whole. This ultimately led to
the union s worst crisis; Civil War between the North and the South in the early 1860s (Cornfield). On

* Oxygen saturation (SpO2) is a measurement of the percentage of hemoglobin molecules carrying a
full load of oxygen. Oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO2) absorbs more infrared light than red light, while
deoxygenated hemoglobin (Hb) absorbs more red light. By comparing the relative amounts of
different light absorbed, the oxygen saturation (SpO2) can be determined. * However, there are some
possible causes of erroneous readings: Motion artifact: Movement (shivering or tremors) or improper
fit of the sensor can cause erroneously low readings. Hypotension (due to cardiac arrhythmias, blood
loss or peripheral vascular disease) and peripheral vasoconstriction (caused by hypothermia, smoking
or sickle cell disease) can alter readings. Smoke inhalation or carbon monoxide poisoning can cause
high levels of carboxyhemoglobin and also skew pulse oximetry readings. Response delay: A
technical limitation that requires additional time to detect hypoxemia (SpO2 less than 90 percent). The
length of delay can be affected by poor sensor site perfusion and vasoactive drugs. * Sensors are sized
according to weight and it is important to select the correct size to avoid reading errors. The sensor
site should be assessed regularly for skin breakdown, cyanosis, pulse rate and temperature. * Pulse
oximetry is not recommended in the following situations:

Cost Benefit Analysis Of Spotsylvania County Public Schools
Cost Benefit Analysis In recent years, the homeschooled population in Spotsylvania County Public
Schools (SCPS) has continued to grow. Due to state regulations, the governing body of the division,
the Spotsylvania County School Board (SCSB) developed a policy to address the procedures and
protocols necessary to guide homeschooling options in the division: Policy LBD (2015) (See
Appendix A). According to L. Binion, Guidance Director for SCPS, currently the division has 1,036
registered and 31 pending homeschooled students in grades K 12 (personal communication,
November 13, 2015). Further, although the division has generally averaged 3 4 additional requests
weekly, requests have skyrocketed to 1 2 per day for the past several weeks. The spike is likely
connected to two recent negative events associated with the division a thwarted mass shooting plan,
and a case of severe hazing at a high school, (L. Binion, personal communication, November 19,
2015). There are financial ramifications for the school division each time a student is opt ed out of the
public school system. State funding is determined by Average Daily Membership (ADM), which
equates to $5,418 per student for Fiscal Year 2015 (VEA, 2014). Thus, the current cost of registered
homeschooled students in SCPS is a staggering $5,613,048. Consequently, examining ways in which
the division can address the needs of the homeschooled population while recapturing lost funds is
imperative. SCPS is currently investigating

Waknuk And The Fringes In The Chrysalids By John Wyndham
People in this world mature in different ways, by the way, they have been affected in their life and it
builds up to someone who has responsibilities as an adult. Our difficult situations make us overcome
our responsibilities and achieve our goals due to our problems. People in communities want to have

The communities of Waknuk and The Fringes in The Chrysalids by John Wyndham are very different
and to overcome their difficulties they use their strengths to achieve goals and bring others down
when the Fringes are trying to overcome adversity and mature by understanding their situation that
they need to overcome. Joseph Storm has rules that are beliefs that have been made for a long period
of time and it leads to people not being allowed to act without clearly proving their point that is not
always accepted because of the beliefs that are not to be changed. In our world, we need the advice to
lead us to our decisions that are not always agreed upon. The goals of the Waknuk community are
strong and hurt others for their differences as a mutant. They are respected, but people have fear and
the Waknuk community is using that for their goals. Joseph Storm does not let anyone accompaniment
their ideas. He sees people not for whom they are, but what they are. When David tells Joseph his idea
that it is not a big deal being a mutant there is no way Joseph could

Carl Freud And Freud s Three Stages Of Development
The third stage of development in Freudian theory is the Phallic stage , which starts at the age of three
and goes on until the age of six. During this particular stage according to Freud, children are said to
take pleasure in their genitals and they also struggle with sexual desires, especially strong desires
towards their opposite sex parent (girl desiring her father and boy desiring his mother). This kind of
behavior in boys is called as Oedipus complex , which according to Freud means that the boys during
this stage desire their mother and want to replace their fathers, who are seen to be seeking the mother s
attention, because of this desire the boy is afraid that his father might find out and punish the boy by
the process of castration(cutting off the penis) due to which they may develop castration anxiety. And
the same desire called Electra complex which is the desire developed in girls for their fathers and in
the thought of replacing their mothers is discussed during later on by Carl Jung. This stage helps in the
development of Superego in life. The fourth stage of development according to Freudian theory is the
Latency stage , which starts at age six and continued until puberty or twelve years of age. During this
particular stage, the child s sexual desires than to subside and they start to additionally develop their
conscience or superego. They begin to act and behave socially accepted by learning appropriate values
from their parents or caregivers as their sex instincts are sublimated into hobbies, school activities, and
sports and they also start focusing on developing and maintaining same sex friendships amongst their
groups. The fifth and last stage of development according to the Freudian theory is the Genital stage ,
which starts from puberty to adulthood. During this particular stage, the sexual desire re emerges if
every stage was developed correctly. In this stage, adolescents join in appropriate sexual behavior with
their partners and develop a secure relationship which can later lead to lifelong commitment, marriage
and focus more on reproducing their future offsprings through sexual intercourse. During this stage,
individuals find satisfaction in their work and love. In order

Bullies Need a Harsher Punishment Bullying is on the rise in the U.S.; therefore, more researchers are
attentive to the effects of bullying. There are extreme cases wherein victims have resorted to drastic
measures. Bullying is a widespread plight, which is having both emotional and tragic effects;
therefore, bullies should be harshly prosecuted and imprisoned. In arguing that bullies need a harsher
punishment, this research paper will closely examine the types of bullying and statistics, detail two
teen suicide cases, and provide the state law.

the law As of 2008, state laws on bullying, harassment, and cyber bullying varies; for instance, states
like Maryland and Virginia delegate responsibility to the State Boards and county Board of Education.
Maryland s code §7 424.1 requires the State Board to develop a model policy prohibiting bullying,
harassment, or intimidation in schools, and cyber bullying code §7 424 requires local boards of
education to submit an annual report to the Department of Education all the while not specifying
punishment upon said bullying or harassment ( State and Federal Information: Maryland ).
Unfortunately, nowhere in the law does it specify consequences for the bullies and their actions.
Virginia s code 8.01 220.1:2 provides immunity from liability for school employees and volunteers
from civil damages arising from reporting alleged acts of bullying or crimes against others if the
person in good faith promptly reports such acts or crimes to the appropriate school official
incompliance with specified procedures ( State and Federal Information: Virginia ). Like that of
Maryland, Virginia s policy does not specify ramifications for bullying, harassment, or cyber bullying.

mandatory sentence of 5 10 years imprisonment in maximum security? Then for repetitive bullying
cases of living victims, bullies should be sentenced to 2 4 years mandatory sentence in a minimum

Underage Tanning Law
Many teens today feel pressured to live up to society s standards. They believe that perfect hair,
flawless makeup, designer clothes, and bronze skin is required. This is where tanning beds come into

teens from tanning. Are these bills acceptable? Are they needed? The Senate and Assembly of New

The Failion Of Society In The Fahrenheit 451
We are living the Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit 451 shows a society very similar to ours today. Much the same as revealed in the
Fahrenheit, we live in a society that is impatient, disconnected from reality and desires satisfaction
from materialistic objects. We live in a world where people seek the easy way out of problems. People
lose their identities focusing too much on themselves and chasing after physical possessions. People
have a physical and emotional side but the people in our society neglects its emotional side. People
now get their happiness from physical objects and seek fulfilment from self involvement, they ignore
the other side of life and the beauty that it holds. We love ourselves so much that we focus only on
ourselves, our wants, needs, and desires that we end up losing patience and neglecting each other.
The Fahrenheit reveals technology as an enemy of society. In the first part of the book during her
conversation with Montag, Clarisse mentions how everything s a blur to people. They have a need to
rush through everything in life. She talks about her uncle who once got jailed for driving at forty miles
per hour, which in this society is considered too slow a speed. People have grown so impatient
towards everything, they don t realize the things that they are missing out on many beauties while
rushing through life. With the advancement of technology people have become even more impatient.
They have the same expectations for people as they do technology. The

The concept of excessive selfishness has been recognized throughout history. In ancient Greece the
concept was understood as hubris. It is only more recently that narcissism has been defined in
psychological terms. Healthy narcissism forms a constant, realistic self interest and mature goals and
principles and an ability to form deep relations to an something. Within psychology, there are two
main branches of research into narcissism: clinical and social psychology. These approaches differ in
their view of narcissism, with the former treating it as a disorder, thus as discrete, and the latter
treating it as a personality trait, thus as a continuum. These two strands of research tend loosely to
stand in a divergent relation to one another, although they converge in places. Self regulation in
narcissists involves such things as striving to make one s self look and feel positive, special,
successful and important. It comes in both intrapsychic, such as blaming a situation rather than self for
failure, and interpersonal forms, such as using a relationship to serve one s own self. Some differences
in self regulation between narcissists and non narcissists can be seen with Campbell, Reeder,
Sedikides] who conducted a study with two

Book Study Update
Book Study Update The book that was chosen for my book study was Blythe s(1999), Akenfield:
Portrait of an English Village. I have chosen this book because of my many connections to England.
Several years ago, I was provided the opportunity to undertake graduate studies at Westfield House,
and attached House of Fitzwilliam College which is part of Cambridge University. During my time in
Cambridge, I was able to travel the country and visit many of the places my ancestors called home.
Having a cousin who still resides in Kettering, due North of London, and parents who have just retired
from living in Wales, I have a long appreciation for the people and heritage of this small country. It is
these appreciations that have lead me to my choice of Blythe s (1999) book. After having ordered the
book through Amazon, I finally received my copy on Friday. I have been able to navigate through the
introduction and first two chapters of the book. Akenfield, is not the name of an actual village, but is
rather a pen name given to this East Anglian village as a means of protecting the identities of those
involved in the study (Blythe, 1999). Blythe describes his book as quest for the voice of Akenfield,
Suffolk through a talk that covers half a century of farming slump and the beginning of what is being
called the second agricultural revolution (Blythe, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Charlie Gordon s Doctors In Daniel Keyes Flowers For...
Winkler In the short story, Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, Charlie Gordon is a 37 year old
man who has learning disabilities, with an I.Q. of 34. Charlie wants to be smarter. Charlie is tested for
an operation that will increase his intelligence artificially. His doctors offer him this operation before
they know how it fully affects the lab rat, Algernon, who is being watched for effects after having the
same surgery. Charlie Gordon s doctors did not act ethically when they performed the surgery to make
him smarter. They should have waited to see the full effects of the surgery on Algernon. They also
should have identified that Charlie s I.Q. made him incapable of making a decision if the surgery was
safe for him. The doctors did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The modern Hippocratic Oath reads, ...for the benefit of the sick... (Lasagna). Charlie s doctors did not
act in his benefit. The doctors acted for the benefit of their own discovery and simply needed a test
subject to help them on their way to scientific glory. Charlie s doctors did not act in his benefit
because Charlie became very sick towards the end of the book. Also, he is at the same mental state as
he was in the beginning of the book (Keyes). The Hippocratic Oath also states that, I will respect the
hard won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge
as is mine with those who are to follow (Lasagna). Charlie s doctors were selfish and greedy with their
newfound information and both wanted to take credit for it. Instead of focusing on further effects of
the surgery, they squabbled over who would get credit for it. I heard them shouting. Dr. Nemur was
saying that it was his experiment and his research, and Dr. Strauss was shouting back that he
contributed just as much...Dr. Strauss said that Dr. Nemur was more interested in Chair of Psychology
at Princeton than he was in the experiment (Keyes 70). Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss violate the
Hippocratic Oath because it says to share scientific knowledge with others. This is yet another
example of the selfish, greedy, and unethical actions of Charlie s

My Eating Habits
My eating habits! When I bring lunch to school, all of the people in the Cohort (even the professors!)
are shocked! It is a rare sight to see me with lunch. Most of the time, it is because I m never very
hungry until around 4. And I ll admit it is just not healthy. I rarely ever eat breakfast either! Not only
do I not eat three meals, but I m also not eating like I should. I ll be honest, I have been living off
Pizza Rolls. Now, I am not saying I am going to go on a crazy diet or starting eating broccoli, but I
need to start eating more and eating less Pizza Rolls.
Drink more water! I will be completely honest right now, over the course of the entire semester I
probably only finished 3 bottles of water total. I ve never been much of a water drinker, but I can t
continue this bad habit this semester. I decided that I have to at least drink the recommended amount
of water per day. To help me out, I am a using a water bottle that has lines and times! It will help me
manage my new habit and stay on top of how much water I am drinking. You can t pour from an
empty glass!
My sleeping habits! If you don t sleep enough, you can t be your best self! How did this go wrong last
semester? Well, last semester I was waking up at 6 am and not going to bed until 12 1am! Why? I was
doing this because a huge portion of my day surrounded school and homework and then when it was
time for bed, I would try to have some me time and then end up staying up late. I decided that this
semester, I will

Was The Munich Agreement Inevitable
The Munich Agreement was an agreement between the British, French, Germans, and Italians that
allowed Hitler control over Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia. Hitler knew that France and Britain were
not prepared to fight another war and would not oppose his demands. So he set forth his plan of
destroying Czechoslovakia and succeeded without much resistance. The agreement allowed Hitler to
complete his plan with ease. Some, like Neville Chamberlain, believed that this was a victory because
it prevented war with Germany; while others, like Winston Churchill, believe that it was a total and
unmitigated defeat (Winston Churchill 1938). Pro appeasement views on Munich agreement were that
it avoided war and that it gave Britain, France, and Italy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was welcomed by mostly overjoyed crowds and boasted about attaining the peace with honor
(Neville Chamberlain 1938). Unfortunately he had some critics like Winston Churchill that opposed
his decisions. Churchill expressed his belief that Chamberlain made a very dishonorable agreement
with Germany that would in turn lead to an inevitable war. This was proven true when Germany
annexed what was left of Czechoslovakia and, one year later, Hitler went back on his word and
invaded Poland, leaving Chamberlain no choice but to declare war on Britain s behalf. This led to the
start of World War II.
In conclusion, war with Germany was inevitable. Although Chamberlain and Churchill had different
views on how the conflict should have been resolved, Germany would have still chosen to declare
war. Chamberlain s misjudgment over the situation led to him losing a lot of his credibility as a leader.
As a result, Churchill replaced Chamberlain as prime minister of Great Britain. The agreement birthed
the perception that Western democracies were weak and would do anything to prevent war. The only
positive outcome of this was that it allowed the participating countries time to prepare their militaries

Foster Care As A Temporary Solution Essay
Foster care is one of the major issues still faced in this world today. According to Crosson Tower
(2013), in the early 1800s, boarding homes were instituted with the idea of rescuing good children
from bad parents. She noted that the idea of paying for foster homes to house children was renounced
because agencies advocating foster care argued that it would lead to foster parents taking children for
money rather than out of altruism. However, she also explained that the practice of paying for foster
care emerged, and the government became involved regulating and administering the foster care
system in the twentieth century. In addition, her research indicated foster care became progressively
more common as the form of caring where the parents were unable to care for their children. Although
foster care is designed to be a temporary solution, the nature of foster care today shows the complete
opposite (Crosson Tower, 2013). The organization that will be discussed in this paper is going to
expand on the issue of foster care and their advocacy efforts to combat the issue.

Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles
Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the
modpoint of the opposite side, we have:
■(t=2/3∙√3/2∙c=c/√3;@u=2/3∙√3/2∙b=b/√3.)
And in this case (1) becomes (2):
〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A+60°).
Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60°)=cos(A)/2 (√3∙sin(A))/2. Substituting (3)
into (2) yields to (4):
〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 b∙c∙cos(A)+√3∙b∙c∙sin(A).
Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A). And recall (6):
2∙S_∆ABC=b∙c∙sin(A).
Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7):
3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC
As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is
equilateral:
IH=GH=GI=s=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC )/√3=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/6+(2∙S_∆ABC)/√3).
The Napoleon s triangle is equilateral. Proved.
Answer: Proved.
Rotating by the point:
Fix the point I as the center of rotation and rotate the entire figure by 120°, and superimpose the
rotated copy on the original figure.
Uder rotation the ∆CAF maps to itself (C maps to A, A maps to F, F maps to C and I maps to itself).
Points BB, DD, EE, GG and HH are the images of the points B, D, E, G and H, respectively. Because
of this he triangle ∆A.EE.BB= ∆BCE.
Connect D to EE and G to HH. By the rigidity of the rotation, ∆GHI=∆GG.HH.I. In particular
GH=GG.HH.
Consider the six triangles that coverge on point A. Triangles ∆ABD, ∆ACF and ∆A.EE.BB are
equilateral.
The angles of triangles sum to 180° and

  • 3. Analysis Of Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill In a piece of literary work there are many aspects that go along with having the reader be able to engage with and understand the story the narrator is telling. Literary aspects like tone, symbolism and setting is an extremely important part in understanding how and why a character acts. Knowing the time and place a story is set in helps the reader understand what is going on, who the characters are, and sets the reader up to understand the story that is about to unfold. The setting of a story is a combination of place and time. In Katherine Mansfield s short story Miss Brill, the place is set immediately, the blue sky powdered with gold and great spots of light like white wine splashed over the Jardins Publiques (Mansfield,72). Form this the reader can gather that this story is set in a public park in France. The narrator goes on to tell us it Sunday afternoon and the main character, Miss Brill, likes to sit on a bench in this particular park and people watch. The time it takes place is not specifically mentioned but one can gather that she is an old woman who is very fond of her fox fur that is most likely not in fashion anymore. This is made explicit from the comments made by the young couple sitting next to her, It s her fu fur which is so funny (Mansfield, 75). The character of Miss Brill is somewhat difficult to understand because in a way she doesn t really understand herself and in the story one can see that she used her fur, in a sense, to symbolize what her ... Never the less, Chechnya was a useful thorn, located on the north slope of the Caucasus Mountains within 100 kilometres of the Caspian Sea, Chechnya is strategically vital to Russia for two reasons. First, access routes to both the Black Sea and Caspian Sea go through Chechnya, as well as oil and vital gas pipelines connecting Russia with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The Chechens were the most active opponents of Russia s conquest (1818 1917) of the Caucasus. They fought bitterly during an unsuccessful 1850s rebellion led by Imam Shamyl. As we see Henry Fonda s character, Juror #8, swing the verdict of a trial away from an 11 1 vote against the defendant to a consensus for his freedom, many different elements of organizational behaviour are displayed. How the group forms, acts, and interacts as time progresses are attributed to a multitude of internal and external factors. Despite the simplicity of setting and premise, 12 Angry Men remains a beloved film. It s authenticity of human behaviour, particularly in relation to conformity, team interaction, and leadership, resonates with its audience as it tries to, as Juror #3 would say, talk about facts. Ultimately, 12 Angry Men s cinematographic balance of realism and sentimentalism in its story aptly summate the struggles of the characters as they overcome the obstacles of group conflicts while addressing their own moral qualms. There are two important group development stages that occur in 12 Angry Men. The movie s characters and tone is set during the forming stage, where the characters are first introduced into the team. During this stage, the members ask themselves Can my needs be met at the same time that I contribute to the group? Juror #7 makes his needs clear when he states we can get all get out of here pretty quick...I happen to have tickets to that ball game tonight . By informing the group that he has motivation to leave, he is likewise inferring that his commitment to the group will be low. Similarly in this stage, the members learn more about each other and their personalities. Juror #3 sets himself as a self titled experienced and pragmatic juror, telling others that I ve sat on many juries...I d slap those tough kids down before they start any trouble. Consequently, as the jurors reveal more about each other, the characters develop a solid inference on each other s individual personalities, and thus can better predict the group s ... • 7. The Theme Of Balance In Ursula Leguin s A Wizard Of Earthsea The balance of light and dark has been off kilter forever and the balance has never been obtained! In the fantasy novel A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula LeGuin, the battle of light and dark has subsided, balance has been restored, and shows the journey of discovering one s identity. At the end of the novel, when the shadow and Ged conjoin it can be seen as the realization of one s identity, as well the discovering of balance. LeGuin uses symbols in the novel to convey what is happening on a deeper level. At the beginning of the end, the sea turned into sand as Ged approached his shadow, which can be seen as a balance, when two opposites, such as sea and sand, become one. It shows when two opposites find a middle point and are at peace as opposed to constantly battering against one another. This instance can also be seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When this occurs, Ged finally becomes a whole self by recognizing who he is, and his balance of positive and negative decisions .Also, in the interaction between Ged and the shadow on the yin and yang island, Ged spoke his own name and embraced the shadow. Ying and Yang are seen as a duality forming a whole so when Ged and the shadow unite, it can symbolize discovering his whole identity. Since often times darkness represents evil, it can be seen as when Ged embraced the shadow, he is accepting his past decisions and dark side that can overcome him at any time. • 8. Specific Gravity Research Paper !!!What Is Specific Gravity? When we go out in the summer to enjoy the pools and the rivers, we always have to make sure that all our equipment and safety measures are working and in place. When we go to the river and get on our boats, we make sure the boat has no leaks and we have our safety vest on. For young children who are still learning how to swim, we make sure they have their floaters on or we swim with them in a swim ring to make sure they do not sink. Why is it that boats, and swim rings float, as shown in the picture below? There are many factors that determine if an object will sink or float in water, and one of these factors is what we call the specific gravity. Solution: [{Image src= example3specificgravity.png alt= Example 3 Solution }] !!!Lesson Summary The specific gravity of an object is the ratio between the density of an object to a reference object, in our case, our reference object is water with a density of 1 g/mL or 1 g/cm^3. Because the density is directly related to the mass, the specific gravity can also be determined from the ratios of the mass of the object to the mass of water, or the weight of the object to the weight of water. The specific gravity has no units and its value determines if the object will float or sink in water. If the specific gravity has a value of greater than 1 , then the object sinks in water and if it is less than 1 , then the object floats in water . The specific gravity is a very important factor in different industries. For instance, it helps ship builders and boat builders in determining the best materials to build their vessels. It is also very important in the jewelry business in determining if the stones and minerals are genuine. It is also important in the environmental aspect when determining if there are oil spills or in identifying unknown artifacts in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There were different aspects that lead to this victory. Bolsheviks had been a minority previously, but after 1917 February they started gaining members rapidly and by 1917 October they had 350, 000 members in the party. To see how they finally were victorious one would have to look at the revolution as a longer phenomenon that took months to reach a final result. Furthermore, it gained stronger support from the soldiers to the Soviet power. With the peasantry the Bolsheviks did use the chaos in the countryside for their gain, but other than that they were not a peasant party nor did they think this was the right moment to interact with them. Trotsky believed that Bolsheviks used the peasant situation, but only the workers could win the revolution and only after seizing power could an agrarian reformation be worked into the Bolshevik plan, thus winning over the peasants later. Essay Feminism and the Shakespeare s Works Feminism and the Shakespeare s Works By examining Shakespeare s treatment of familial ties in his plays The Life and Death of King John and The Winter s Tale, we can see how his attitudes and opinions towards family relationships evolved. In King John (written between 1594 and 1596), Shakespeare adopts what was then a fairly conventional attitude towards family relationships: his characters never question the highly patriarchal family hierarchy. They also assume that the majority of wives will be unfaithful, simply because they are female however, they take the charge of adultery rather lightly. This obviously highlights the power differential between the Lady and her son. The most vivid example of King John s patriarchalism is found in the character of John s niece Blanche. Her entire life rests on the men in it, namely, King John and Lewis the Dauphin. King John marries her to the Dauphin, because, as Eleanor advises him, For by this knot thou shalt so surely tie Thy now unsured assurance to the crown That yon green boy shall have no sun to ripe The bloom that promiseth a mighty fruit (2.1.471 474). After Blanche s marriage, Lewis uses her claim to the throne as the fault was hers / Which fault lies on the hazards of all husbands/ That marry wives (1.1.118 20). No one contradicts either of them. Additionally, when Constance and Queen Eleanor begin to argue, they accuse each other of infidelity and call each other s sons bastards. All of this shows that in King John, women were assumed to be less faithful than men. As a result of bringing an attempt to come back from the defeat, the result was insufficient. This clearly shows that the Reconstruction Era was certainly not a success because the changes created by the government failed to make positive changes to society. There were numerous of conflicts in The Civil War and Problems the Nation was Faced with that led up to the reconstruction. One of the origins of the war was Sectionalism. Sectionalism is the devotion to the interests of one geographic region over interests of the country in whole. This ultimately led to the union s worst crisis; Civil War between the North and the South in the early 1860s (Cornfield). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... * Oxygen saturation (SpO2) is a measurement of the percentage of hemoglobin molecules carrying a full load of oxygen. Oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO2) absorbs more infrared light than red light, while deoxygenated hemoglobin (Hb) absorbs more red light. By comparing the relative amounts of different light absorbed, the oxygen saturation (SpO2) can be determined. * However, there are some possible causes of erroneous readings: Motion artifact: Movement (shivering or tremors) or improper fit of the sensor can cause erroneously low readings. Hypotension (due to cardiac arrhythmias, blood loss or peripheral vascular disease) and peripheral vasoconstriction (caused by hypothermia, smoking or sickle cell disease) can alter readings. Smoke inhalation or carbon monoxide poisoning can cause high levels of carboxyhemoglobin and also skew pulse oximetry readings. Response delay: A technical limitation that requires additional time to detect hypoxemia (SpO2 less than 90 percent). The length of delay can be affected by poor sensor site perfusion and vasoactive drugs. * Sensors are sized according to weight and it is important to select the correct size to avoid reading errors. The sensor site should be assessed regularly for skin breakdown, cyanosis, pulse rate and temperature. * Pulse oximetry is not recommended in the following situations: ... According to Crosson Tower (2013), in the early 1800s, boarding homes were instituted with the idea of rescuing good children from bad parents. She noted that the idea of paying for foster homes to house children was renounced because agencies advocating foster care argued that it would lead to foster parents taking children for money rather than out of altruism. However, she also explained that the practice of paying for foster care emerged, and the government became involved regulating and administering the foster care system in the twentieth century. In addition, her research indicated foster care became progressively more common as the form of caring where the parents were unable to care for their children. Although foster care is designed to be a temporary solution, the nature of foster care today shows the complete opposite (Crosson Tower, 2013). Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the modpoint of the opposite side, we have: ■(t=2/3∙√3/2∙c=c/√3;@u=2/3∙√3/2∙b=b/√3.) And in this case (1) becomes (2): 〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A+60°). Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60°)=cos(A)/2 (√3∙sin(A))/2. Substituting (3) into (2) yields to (4): 〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 b∙c∙cos(A)+√3∙b∙c∙sin(A). Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A). And recall (6): 2∙S_∆ABC=b∙c∙sin(A). Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7): 3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is equilateral: IH=GH=GI=s=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC )/√3=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/6+(2∙S_∆ABC)/√3). The Napoleon s triangle is equilateral. Proved. Answer: Proved. Rotating by the point: Fix the point I as the center of rotation and rotate the entire figure by 120°, and superimpose the rotated copy on the original figure. Uder rotation the ∆CAF maps to itself (C maps to A, A maps to F, F maps to C and I maps to itself). Points BB, DD, EE, GG and HH are the images of the points B, D, E, G and H, respectively. Because of this he triangle ∆A.EE.BB= ∆BCE. Connect D to EE and G to HH. By the rigidity of the rotation, ∆GHI=∆GG.HH.I. In particular GH=GG.HH. Consider the six triangles that coverge on point A. Triangles ∆ABD, ∆ACF and ∆A.EE.BB are equilateral. The angles of triangles sum to 180° and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
