1. Narrative Essay Stories
Crafting an essay on the theme of "Narrative Essay Stories" can be a challenging yet rewarding
task. The difficulty lies not only in the necessity to delve into personal experiences but also in the
art of weaving those experiences into a compelling narrative. It requires a delicate balance
between self-reflection and effective storytelling, engaging the reader while conveying a
meaningful message.
The challenge begins with selecting the right stories to share. One must sift through memories,
searching for moments that not only capture attention but also possess a deeper significance. The
narrative should unfold seamlessly, drawing the reader into a journey that resonates emotionally
and intellectually.
Structuring the essay is another hurdle. Striking the right balance between introduction, plot
development, and conclusion is crucial. The narrative must flow cohesively, maintaining a clear
chronological or thematic order. The transitions between events should be smooth, allowing the
reader to follow the narrative effortlessly.
Language plays a pivotal role in a narrative essay. The writer must choose words that evoke
emotions, paint vivid images, and create an immersive experience for the reader. Descriptive
elements should be carefully chosen to enhance the storytelling without overwhelming it.
Moreover, the challenge lies in the vulnerability of self-expression. Writing a narrative essay
often requires the author to open up and share personal experiences, making it a deeply
introspective and sometimes emotionally taxing process. Striking the right balance between
authenticity and discretion is crucial.
However, as challenging as it may be, the process of writing a narrative essay offers an
opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery. It encourages introspection, hones
storytelling skills, and develops a deeper understanding of the significance of one's own
experiences.
In conclusion, writing a narrative essay on the theme of personal stories involves navigating
through the intricacies of memory, storytelling, structure, and emotional expression. While it may
pose challenges, the rewards lie in the ability to share meaningful experiences, connect with
readers, and create a lasting impact through the art of storytelling.

2. Persuasive Essay On Soda
Introduction: According to the cspinet.org, last updated January 17, 2017, In
2013, the average American drank just over 38 gallons of soda a year... Most of us
could agree that we ve indulged on a cold refreshing coca cola, for that matter any
other soda. Throughout the years soda has became a staple in our lives, it
completes our dinners, and goes great with popcorn at the movies. However,
consuming soda has far more serious health risks than we may realize. For that
reason, I invite you all to limit the amount of soda you in take. Today I will discuss
the ingredients found in soda, the health risks of drinking soda, and alternatives to
drinking soda.
Ingredients of a Soda
Essentially soda is made of water, sugar, and other detrimental ingredients that
provide zero nutritional value to our bodies.
According to healthline.com, last accessed November 1, 2017, high fructose corn
syrup is an artificial sweetener made from cornstarch. High fructose corn syrup is
cheap, therefore it is commonly used in the U.S. Ajcn.nutrition.org, last updated in
2008, reports that high fructose corn syrup was popularized in the 70 s replacing
sugar. High fructose corn syrup is widely used because it is cheaper and comes in
liquid form making the transporting process quicker. Although this ingredient may
taste delicious in our soda, several studies show that the overconsumption of HFCS is
linked to diabetes, heart diseases, and obesity.

3. Historical Perspective Of Renaissance Florence
Historiography
The scholars who have documented the history of Florence in the Italian Renaissance
observes Machiavelli in his Florentine Histories (Istorie fiorentine), tending to begin
work there. The works of Machiavelli and Guicciardini have been useful in the
studies of Renaissance Florence, through the direct translation of Latin, giving history
from the view of these humanist historians of 15th century. Other authors have
focused on the works of Bruni, Bracciolini and Scala, as in a relatively modern
outlook to the study of Renaissance Florence has seen the difference in perspective of
what occurred in Renaissance Florence leading historians to take a deeper look at
these humanist. Authors looking at the historical perspective of Renaissance
Florence tend outline the aspects of the past and present state of studies in this field
of the Renaissance and Renaissance Florence. In recent years, American scholars
have concentrated on the methods and ideas in history rather than the specific
problems of these Florentine information gaps. Historians within the modern study
tend to only focus on the primary sources within the region, rather than try to look
outside the area for references to said events. The tradition study of Florentine
historiography tends to only focus questions asked and answered about Bruni,
Bracciolini and Scala. In Dr W s Book, he states historians tend to ask certain
questions:
What interests and engages the author?; What is the substance of his
4. The War Of World War I
World War 2 was a huge turning point in history, that fixed most of the things
related to wars that World War 1 was supposed to do but did not. There were many
differences between the attitude of the US in World War 1, and their attitude in
World War 2, mainly due to what happened in between the wars. Unlike World War
1, the second World War, was not about proving a point in the American s case, but
instead revenge for what had happened in between. In the process, the attitude of the
American people towards war changed dramatically from the end of World War 1, to
the end of World War 2.

The 1920s in America, can be divided into two different parts. The first being the
boom itself, and the other being the problems that indirectly lead to the
catastrophic 30s. The 1920s was a period that saw the deep south being urbanized,
thus moving away from ordinary farming, to factories. This also included the great
migration, which saw many african american moving the upper north states like
New York, creating what was known as the harlem renaissance in Harlem, New
York. A lot of the current big money places like LA and Chicago started their boom
in the 20s. While many great things happened in the 1920s many questionable
things also happened in the decade. For example, in 1924, the evil racists political
group from the post civil war era, known as the Ku Klux Klan or the KKK,
reorganized as a racist nativist group who opposed anyone who was not an american
born white protestant. They successfully got the government to block immigrants
from entering the country, as to lessen the fear of communism spreading. The
Problems associated with the KKK and immigration, indirectly lead to the great
depression seen in the 1930s.
The backend of the 1920s, saw the US transition from greatest boom to the greatest
recession, known as the great depression. The 1920s was all about the credit system.
This credit system did not have any limits, because at the time, republicans followed
5. The Effects Of Climate Change On Social, Political, And...
In Egypt, the same word for bread is life. Food security and clean water are
indispensable to survival, and how do societies react when exogenous variables
prohibit access to the basic staples of life? Manfred Steger speaks briefly on
globalization and environmental degradation and fails to draw real conclusions about
the impact of climatechange on social, political, and economic stability. In Steger s A
Brief Introduction to Globalization, he contends that, how people view their natural
environment depends to a great extent on their cultural milieu... [And] the US
dominated culture industry seeks to convince its global audience that the meaning
and chief value of life can be found in the limitless accumulation of material
possessions (2003, p. 86). He later contends that a revision of our current extractivist
oriented cultural regime must occur as a response to our pleading planet, as if only
culture were to blame (2003, p. 92). This paper underlines the connectedness of
climate changeand social unrest and uses case studies from the Arab Spring to color
the arching narrative that the awakening was catalyzed and intensified by climate
change.
Egypt and Unsuspecting Syria
The normal consensus is that rising food prices helped create the conditions for the
Arab Spring (Klein 2014). Laying the data out suggests a stronger correlation of
climate change and revolution sensitivity. Thomas L. Friedman, three time Pulitzer

6. How Does John Steinbeck Present Crooks in of Mice and
Men...
How does John Steinbeck present the character of Crooks?
In the novel Of Mice and Men John Steinbeck, the author, uses the character of
Crooks to represent racism and symbolize the marginalization of the black
community occurring at the time in which the novel is set. Crooks is significant as
he provides an insight into the reality of the American Dream and the feelings of all
the ranchers: their loneliness and need for company and human interaction. Crooks
got his name from his crooked back, this suggests he represents something different
and he is not your average ranch hand. The reader has to decide whether Crooks
deserves sympathy, or if he is just a bitter, cruel and gruff stable buck.
We first hear of Crooks when Candy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However his tone was a little more friendly and I didn t mean to scare you gives us
the impression that Crooks has a kind heart under his blunt exterior.
Crooks brings into perspective the loneliness experienced by all the characters in
Of Mice and Men by saying a guy gets too lonely, an he gets sick. He is telling of
the need for human interaction, the need for company and the need for someone to
care and provide security. The oppression Crooks experiences in living in a barn
and not in the bunkhouse where he could play rummy as one of the group leads him
to this desperate plea to be realised as equal. Just because when he cuts himself, the
blood he bleeds is looked upon as different from a white perspective, this does not
mean he is not entitled to benefit from human nature. John Steinbeck is portraying
here the feelings of Americans of his day and age: their aloneness and their salvation
in the American Dream.
It becomes apparent that the treatment of Crooks has made him cynical. Whenever
the American Dream is mentioned he dismisses it. He says scornfully They come,
an they quit an go on......An never a god damn one of em gets it. This stark realism
gives us an impression that Crooks has absolutely no hope. However I remember
when I was a little kid....had a strawberry patch. Had an alfalfa patch....Used to turn

The concepts of tradition and modernity in The Bride Price by Buchi Emecheta.
INTRODUCTION
The concept of tradition versus modernity has been widely explored in the novel
entitled Bride Price by Buchi Emecheta. Every aspect including the setting of the
novel, the tribal community that exists, the characters, the lifestyle which the
community adopted and the values that each characters hold reflects the existence
and also the confrontation between tradition and modernity. In this novel, the author
has shown how modernity and its values try to seep into the community of Ibuza, a
place where tradition and customs are strongly uphold by its residents. During the
period from 1850 to 1960, Nigeria has been colonized by the British power ... Show

In terms of sexuality, single men are allowed to have affairs with women before
they get married. Nobody in the community will question them for committing such
acts and not only that, boys who come as suitors to the girl s home are allowed to
fondle her breasts and to molest her in any way they like as it is the custom
practiced by the people in Ibuza. In this case, the girl s mother and family are actually
aware of what s happening and they allow for these acts to be committed on the girl.
In contrast, a girl is expected to be a virgin before she is married off to the husband
chosen for her and her blood stains from the consummated marriage is shown to
family members as a prove that she was pure before she got married. However, if
she were to have affairs before she is married off to another family, she would be
looked down upon and will be treated even worst than a slave. In Akunna s case,
she claimed that she lost her virginity to Chike, a descendent of a slave, to protect
herself from being mistreated by Okoboshi. But by doing so, she put her own life
at risk and even tarnished her own reputation in her own community. Another
instance would be in terms of education. For example, boys are allowed to further
their studies until the highest level as long as their families can afford to do so.
Meanwhile, girls are not as privileged as it is taken for granted that girls are not

An Aussie way of life Australia is a large island that is surrounded by clear blue
oceans and populated with the most honest, laid back, respectful, friendly and
relaxed people you will ever meet. This country identity can be described in many
ways but by a true australian they would tell you it is just home of the most
beautiful sceneries of the outback and coastline, especially the beaches. Growing
up in Australia my whole life in the surf has been exciting and interesting. You
never know what you are going to do and see, but if there is only one thing you can
rely it is having a great time down at the beach with friends. Carving up the waves

9. Nut Island Effect
#1. Do the people at Nut Island represent a cohesive team? The team from Nut
Island had the potential to accomplish great things. They were a very cohesive
team. Cohesiveness relates to the degree to which members are attracted to and
motivated to remain part of that team. A cohesive group member values his or her
membership and strives to maintain a positive relationship within the group. Every
person working at Nut Island wanted to be there and would not let anything get in
the way of their team. When looking at only the cohesiveness of a team, Nut Island
would be a good example. They worked together and enjoyed what they did at the

job they set out to do.
(b.)The employees at Nut Island formed a very cohesive group, but their
cohesiveness contributed to their problems. They worked together and were able to
all conform to a set of norms. This group though was following the wrong set of
norms. A highly cohesive group following a negative set of performance norms has
the least amount of success. They are working together but for the wrong cause. The
Nut Island team began following the wrong set of norms when they request for
funds for maintenance on equipment was denied. They were told to get rid of the
dandelions. He was more worried about the outside appearance than the inner
workings of the plant and what the employees had to deal with. The team began to
feel isolated and was not able to trust others outside of their group. Later on the plant
s four engines shut down. Management had refused to give them money to maintain
the engines, and they were waiting for something to go wrong. This incident united
the team even more around a common adversary В– management. Their enemy
should not have been people within their own company. The team lost sight of the
goal they were supposed to perform and focused on doing everything themselves.

10. A Brief Note On Transportation And Logistics Management
In the vast industry that is transportation and logistics management, has a lot of
influence on the economy of the United States. One of the reasons for the close
connection of the industry and U.S economy is because of globalization, and in the
content of this paper we will examine different segments of the industry, and how
they affect the economy in different ways. Addressing specific segments of the
industry tells us just how important each segment is to the economy, instead of
speaking of the industry in general. Throughout this research paper we will be
looking at five specific transportation and logistics operation within the industry. The
airlineindustry is very important to the many cities within the United States, creating a
number of jobs because of the ability that airports have to connect cities to the rest of
the world. Job created through the air transport systems that help boost a cities
economy is tourisms and airport jobs, which can help to transform a city. The cruise
shipindustry also help boost cities, which operates port of call for the cruises that
operate from them. Cruises also generates many jobs in the tourism sector as people
sometimes have to fly and overnight from different cities to board these cruises.
Another major factor that is affecting the industry is globalization and how it is able
to create jobs and help improve the economy. Other areas in the transportation and
logistics industry that has an affect on the economy is the overuse of

The film is based on the lives and experiences of three women who work at a large
corporate office known as Consolidated Industries. The three women are Judy

he is a chauvinistic tyrant who works everybody hard especially the women. He
believes that women are inferior to men and says so to Violet when she gets passed

job and has had a number of brilliant ideas, which Frank simply passed off as his

Frank tries to use this information to force Doralee to finally sleep with him she

in serious trouble now they decide to hold Frank captive in his own home until
they can find enough blackmail on him to keep him quiet. While waiting for an
inventory list to prove that Frank has been stealing inventory, the three women
come up with many ideas about how to change the company for the better. So they
draft changes for the office and forge Frank s signature on the paper to make it
legitimate. After the many changes that the girls make the office is more
productive and efficient than ever before, and the employees are much happier.
The changes they make include part time work, a daycare, and allows for people to
have personal items at their desks. Three days before the invoice comes from the
corporate offices Frank escapes and is able to rectify all of the theft which he has
done without the girls knowing he was free. Frank,
12. Skeletal Muscle Vs Muscle
In producing movement bones, support the body, and provide leverage for the
skeletal muscles of the body (Sailey, pg. 113). The muscles, skeletal muscles work
together, a system of pairs when one contracts (shorter) the other relaxes (longer) and
causes joints to move (Sailey, pg. 113). The nerves, signals are sent to the brian and
then to the synapses to muscles.
The sliding filament theory of muscle contraction is basically saying the myosin thick
filaments slide past actin thin filaments during muscle contraction. I believe the
sarcomere would be an example of this occurring.
Both skeletal and cardiac muscle are striated, however skeletal muscle is voluntary
and controls movement. While cardiac muscle is involuntary.
The skeletal
13. Earnest Social Structure
Oscar Wilde demonstrated the complex social structure of the Victorian era of
society through comedy and satire in his play, The Importance of Being Earnest .
Despite the play s title, neither male leading characters, Jack Worthing and
Algernon Moncrieff are entirely earnest. In order to secure their engagements and
protect their social standings, both create long exaggerated stories and lie about
their true identities. Wilde continues to display the faults of the Victorian upper
class through characters, Cecily Cardew and Miss Prism. Both women prove to be
hopeless romantics with unrealistic perspectives on fantasy versus reality. Based
off of Prisms novel and her obvious desire to become a romantic novelist, and
Cecily s delusional writings in her diaries, Wilde is trying to convey that
essentially anyone in Victorian society may be considered a writer. When Wilde
first introduces Cecily, it becomes apparent to readers that she is bored with her
current lifestyle. She shows little interest in her lessons and a strong passion for
writing in her diary. Unlike Gwendolyn, Cecily s family background and lifestyle
are significantly different than her traditional upper class London setting. Cecily s
life takes place in the much less sophisticated countryside of England with only her
guardian who she refers to as Uncle Jack and her tutor Miss Prism, who acts as a sort
of motherly figure. Because Cecily is not a product of upper class London society,
and she desires more out of
14. The Case Of Kyllo V. United States
In the case of Kyllo v. United States, I believe that the federal government did not
exceed boundaries set by the Fourth Amendment. Conducting basic surveillance of
the home with a basic thermal imager, Kyllo s illegal activities were inferred using
common patterns associated with indoor marijuana growth, and this information was
used to obtain a search warrant. Although agents used extrasensory technology to
view the normally invisible heat radiating from the home, their actions did not
infringe upon Kyllo s rights. All of the information used in obtaining the search
warrant was gained from the exterior of the house, not through an unconstitutional
search. However unorthodox the methods may have been, they did not constitute a
violation. Firstly, the Katz two prong precedent should be applied. Although Kyllo s
home passes the first test, demonstrating an expectation of privacy from the public
naked eye in his activities, no measures were taken to conceal the waste heat
emanating from his house. Continuing, the Katz case addresses the plaintiff s
protection from the uninvited ear, but not the intruding eye. However, the agents
merely conducted observations of the exterior of the building, not even Although a
thermal imager was used from a vantage point close to Kyllo s home, the agents
search was not intrusive of Kyllo s home. In cases such as California v. Ciraolo and
Florida v. Riley, the court opinion held that observation from a publicly navigable
airspace, as long

16. Erving Goffman s Stigma And Social Identity
The main point Erving Goffman made in his article Stigma and Social Identity
how different types of stigma effect people in their daily life. You could be
stigmatized in many different ways such as how you look, if you are handicapped
or not, or even if you are from a different ethnicity. Goffman defines three different
primary typologies of stigma and they are: (1) abomination of the body, which
means someone has physical disabilities, (2) Blemishes of individual character,
meaning moral failing such as rapist, sex offender, and (3) tribal stigma, meaning
your ethnical background and religion (Pontell, 2016, p. 96 97). Goffman also talks
about how the individuals, who are stigmatized by the society, feel when they are

96 97). I personally think that blemishes of individual character and tribal stigma
are both useful in understanding the phenomenon of stigmatization, as both them
play a key factor when someone is left out. But I strongly believe that blemishes in
individual character play a huge role when it comes to stigmatization. I say this
because now a days in a society if you are from a different ethnical background, it
would not hold you back in some opportunity and in some places it would but it is
not the same as it used to be back in the days. And as of individual who are
handicapped are stigmatized because we assume that he/she might not be able to
do the job and somewhere I think that individuals who are handicap might think the
same for themselves and would be held back from opportunities. But if you have a
blemish in your character, such as if you are labeled as rapist or sex offender, you
are always going to be seen as a bad person. People around you are going to say
hateful and mean things about you and sometime with these labels you will not get a
job easily. And the reason is that the society is going to judge you and assume all the
bad things you did, even though it might not have been that
17. The Threat Of New Entrants
Threat of new entry
The threat of new entrants is high in the industry for three reasons: the industry is
continually growing; there is no dominant firm; and, the barriers to entry are low.
Consumer trends suggest that people chose fitness centres based on location rather
than brand name, meaning switching costs are low . Low switching costs, a lack of
government regulation, and the homogeneousness of services offered across the
industry contribute to the low barriers to entry. The only current barrier to entry is
the large capital investment required to open a facility. Because location is so
important, rent and finding a suitable site for a fitness centre can be expensive.

There are no ongoing payments need to be made to the suppliers. The company has
also a good relationship with it suppliers. This therefore, would make bargaining
power of suppliers low.
Buyer power
Buyers are very powerful because they have the power to force down prices,
demand higher quality products or service and play competitors against each other,
all of which can result in loss of profits. Bargaining power of the health club
members will be high because, profitability will be based on membership and Club
Train s ability to retain existing members as well as attract new ones. The key to
this is ensuring customers are satisfied with the services provided and making sure
their demands are met at an affordable price. Club Train prides itself on providing
personalised support programs for customers. There is also limited amount of local
competition for buyers to go to. Thus the buyer power is low.
Threat of substitutes
The presence of substitutes lowers the industry attractiveness and profitability
because they limit price levels. There are a number of options people can do on their
own such as outdoor recreational activities like cycling, running or boot camp and
park style personal training. Another option can be ownership of exercise equipment
which is perfect for those individuals with limited free time. In this case threat of
substitutes is high.
Rivalry among existing competitors
The intensity of rivalry between competitors will depend on the ability of

Patricia Hill Collins is an extremely compelling current social scientist whose work
represents itself with no issue. From a youthful age she started to look into the
complex cooperation s between race, class, and sex as an African American young

the 1950s. Her mother taught her the power that an education can have on one s
life in this way, Collins didn t just become the first person in her family to move on

20. The Ford Company and Pinto Case
1.What moral issues does the Pinto case raise?
The moral issues raised by Pinto case are the life of a man can be paid off with the
money. Ford Company should not only concern about their benefits and disregard
the human life. In order to perform cost benefit analysis, all costs and benefits must
be expressed in the common measure. This measure is typically in money, as Ford
Company used it in its analysis. Ford Company believes that everyone has certain
price in their life. Therefore, they believe that they are able to compensate for a
human life if any accident happens. But, Ford Company has forgotten that there are
numerous things which are priceless in the world just like the life of a man.
We can never measure the man s life with price since a human life is priceless. Ford
thought they could get away with a dangerous automobile by paying off those
lawsuits from people who were injured and the families of dead. Ford thought that it
was more cost effective to compensate the people who get injury and dead in
accidents rather than improve the gas tank of the car. Ford seemed to follow the
calculation blindly without giving any extra consideration for quantifying human life.
Everyone has the rights to have a safe product to be consumed. Ford should not
focus on their own profit and jeopardize the wellbeing of other people.
Besides that, the moral issues are raised due to the ignorance of the Ford employee
for not coming out to reveal the actual problem faced by the

Abstract Adsorption is one of the preferred techniques in recent years to remove the
color and inorganics from waste water. Activated carbonderived from the agricultural
byproduct, acts as an effective adsorbent for the removal of dyes from waste water.
The removal of dyes and metal ions at different, contact time, bed height, flow rate,
initial dye concentration, column diameter, adsorbent dosage, pH, and temperature
by different agriculture based adsorbent has been studied. The result shows that
among the compared adsorbents, moringa oleifera derived adsorbent is effective for
waste treatment. The adsorption data were well fitted by Freundlich isotherm model.
Kinetic data were best described by pseudo second order model.

24. Should Immigrants Be Allowed In America
Since the first colony began in the 1500s, America has been a place for people to
get their first taste of freedom. It s what the nation was built upon, and what
millions of soldiers since have given their lives for. For hundreds of years, it has been
a place for people to begin a life free of persecution. However, this has been evolving
over the past few years for one reason and one reason alone prejudice on the part of
US citizens. People have become less accepting of foreigners, not knowing how many
newcomers to the United States, particularly refugees, suffered in their home
countries. They are searching for a place without violence. In many war torn
countries, gangs start recruiting children as young as six (Nazario). People are
constantly threatened with rape, loss of loved ones, torture, and death. They come
here hoping to escape and start a new life, only to find that many American citizens
are less than welcoming. Many arguments against immigrationare backed... Show

Not letting someone in is like throwing them to the wolves. Some claim if we keep
letting immigrants in, whites will be a minority. If one sees a problem with this, one
should probably reevaluate their morals and beliefs because this is indistinguishable
from racism (Bustle). Increased immigration also lowers wages for low skilled
workers. However, some immigrants are actually very skilled workers, and they also
cycle their wages back into the economy, therefore creating more jobs in the long run.
Some people say that immigrants shouldn t be allowed because they take money
from the education system without putting any back in. In this case, people should
SUPPORT immigration, not condemn it. If these immigrants were given citizenship,
they would put more money into the education system through payments like taxes
and other fees

Florence Nightingale was one of the first medical professionals to realize a need for
sanitation during surgery during her time as a nurse in the Crimean War. She and a
team of nurses improved the unsanitary conditions at a British base hospital, and
greatly reduced the death count. In 1860, she funded the establishment of St. Thomas
Hospital and Nightingale Training School for Nurses. She used her experience from
the Crimean War to implement the beginnings of modern hospital infection control
practices in St. Thomas Hospital. Nightingale s practices were not the sole research
and experimentation surrounding antisepsis. Many scientists studied death rates and
the notion that air was the cause of infection and death. Dr. Joseph Lister did not
believe in this notion, so he conducted a study that proved microorganisms, bacteria,
caused infections. His study became known as the germ theory of infection, and
launched the field of bacteriology. By 1870 he demonstrated that his antiseptic
system could prevent most infectious complications of surgery. Despite Lister s
abundant results, doctors continued to reject antisepsis; it would be another twenty
to thirty years before Listerism was adopted. Gross was very adamant on rejecting
antisepsis; by 1875 Samuel Gross was the leading obstacle to the adoption of

Continued employment for workers past their retirement age
Dear readers,
Whether to allow retired citizens to continue working after passing their retirement
age is still a huge doubt in our current society. Organizations may not want to re
employ them as they may be unfit for the job due to their physical limitations.
However, re employing them will greatly benefit them. I will be giving my opinions
and suggestions for this concern in this blog post.
Some Human Resource (HR) managers of organizations did report cons of re
employing them:
Some older people may not be as updated in technology as the younger generation.
Hence additional training is needed.
They may have one or more chronic disease and hence it makes them more expensive
when it comes to insurance and medical care.
They may request for flexible hours which some organizations may not be able to
give.
These few factors are mainly why organizations refuse to employ retired workers as
these are the problems they have to face. However, some HR managers would still
employ retired workers as there are more pros than cons.
The advantages include:
They are usually experienced so they will be able to solve their own problems.

the form of growth is brought about (Palmer, 2009, p.65). Companies look for the

By utilizing the myths, she dynamically finds her legend s adventure by breaking

Helmets have been around since warfare. Nowadays, helmets are used for many
things such as sports, vehicles and fashion. Most current helmets are made up of a

usually made of plastic and glued on top of the liner. The liner is the most important
part of the helmet as it provides the most protection. It is usually made of Expanded
Polystyrenefoam. As the foam crushes, it converts the mechanical energy of the

which are used to make standards, also cannot accurately stimulate the effects on the

35. Identity Development Model for LGBT Population
Cass (1979) introduced, what is still today, the most widely used identity
development model for the LGBT population. It was thought that gay identity
development would serve as the most significant moderator of the physiological
stress response. Findings from this study suggest that it affects the stressresponse, but
not to the degree that was expected. It is possible that a GayIdentity Questionnaire
(GIQ) will not accurately capture the gay identity development, or that the
homogeneity of the sample might not produce statistically significant results.
However, as one of the post hoc analyses self esteem could account for more of the
variance in the stress response. It is not to suggest that gay identity development is
not an important construct to understand, but perhaps it could be captured more
accurately. Mohr and Fassinger (2000) identified the many dimensions to the gay and
lesbian experience. It might be that this current study could support the difficulty in
quantitatively measuring one s global identity development, as many individuals
possess countless identities and mood can significantly affect one s response to the
test items. As with any generalization, one must be cautious in its interpretation.
Self esteem appears to be similar to gay identity, in that it is difficult to capture its
true effect on an individual s health, although there is an exorbitant amount of
literature that supports its protective properties (Henley, 2010). In this study, self
esteem

Before railroads, cities were normally built on coasts or rivers, because the most
effective way to ship goods was by boat. Traveling on land required horses and
wagons, that mean it took extremely long time and had very low capacity. This
meant that people could not transport fresh goods nor big loads of foods more than
a few miles. Many people settled nearby rivers and coasts, so that they can receive
goods they needed, or they could ship anything they produced. By 1828, the nation

A Confederate Divided The American Civil War has become a point of controversy
and argument when discussing key events in shaping America. The arguments that
arise when discussing the war tend to focus on whether the Confederate was
constitutionally justified in seceding, or whether the North had the right to prevent
the secession. However, when discussing the America Civil War and the idea of
separation, it is important to be mindful that separation did not simply end at the
state level. Letters written by Jesse Rolston, Jr. and Jedediah Hotchkiss portray two
significantly different attitudes toward the war, despite the fact that the writers both
fought for the Confederate States and give accounts of the same battle, one of which
ended in the Confederate s favor. When examining the documents, both writers
express different viewpoints on life on and off the battlefield. This significant
difference represents a division amongst the Confederate army. The letter from Jesse
Rolston immediately establishes himself as a very humble soldier. He is presumably
an infantryman, as he gives personal accounts of his part in the battle. Rolston s
intention when writing this letter is mainly an attempt to reassure his family that he
is still alive and wishes to return home. He states how much [more] satisfied [he]

Government policies are supposed to be for the well being of the people that
government serves. The problem is that not all of the people agree that one policy or
another is in their best interest; therefore, it can appear that the government is
forcing policies on them. The policy making process is very much like a double
edged sword for the government. What may be good for the many will often times
not be good for the few, or the one. Even though government is created by the
people, it is run by elected officials who won their positions by the majority vote;
meaning the minority group often does not benefit. Whether government policies are
good or bad for the whole will greatly depend on who is the driving force, the
Executive, behind the policies. Mr. Roosevelt stated that Thomas Jefferson believed
that government should not interfere with the individual and his inherent rights, but
is supposed to protect those rights. However, Jefferson also believed that
interference is inevitable because in the attempt to protect the individual rights, the
government will, in one way or another, affect those rights. Government cannot
possibly protect the rights of all the people even though that is the purpose of
government. The results of government policies, good or bad, may not be
immediately realized by the populace. It could take years before the outcomes are
known, yet some results are realized right away. With each election new faces are
added and those faces can make the

three kinds of great apes that inhabit Sorer: the chimpanzees, orangutans, and
gorillas. The novel portrays each species to have different characteristics and social
behaviors; the chimpanzees being progressive and smart, the gorillas aggressive and
ignorant, and the orangutans stubborn and conservative. This paper will thus explore
how accurate these depictions are in reality. Additionally, during his attempts to
establish his intelligence to the great apes of Sorer, Ulysse s human companion

because they are intellectual property. Intellectual property is the mind s product, but

effort to create a notion of quality or uniqueness in the mind of the customer.
Trademark infringement takes place when there is chance of confusion between two
products or services offered by different companies (Knudson, 2006). Trademarks are
usually a crucial element of company s marketing strategy and therefore need to be
selected carefully and safeguarded consistently against all possible violators.
Copyrights are used in protection of artistic works like books, plays, films, music,
paintings, or computer software. Copyright infringement entails use of such works
either in part of whole without prior permission of their owners, or without
acknowledging the source (Knudson, 2006). Trade secret refers to any intellectual
property that grants its holder a competitive edge over the competitors. It includes any
information which may in from of a formula, pattern, compilation, program,
technique, process that derives sovereign economic value from not being known.
Unlike patents which protect the original inventor regardless of the source of
subsequent inventions, trade secrets are not safeguarded (Knudson, 2006). Further, a
person can dismantle a product in order to uncover a trade secret without
infringement through a process known as reverse engineering. However,

Can serve my turn? Forgive me my foul murder ? (3, 3, 38 53)
This quotation reveals that Claudius feels extremely guilty and regretful of his
violent action of the past of murdering his own brother. Claudius also realizes that
he will never be able to atone for his actions because, murder is a mortal sin that is
never forgiven, he still reaps the rewards of the murder: the crown and his queen,
and also because, he will never be able to bring his brother back to life and beg his
forgiveness for the act that he committed, and therefore, cannot repair the harm he
had caused to his own brother. In conclusion, both characters, the narrator and King
Claudius are going through the same phase or situation, as they are regretful of their
past actions they have committed. This shows how Old Hands and Hamlet are
closely linked to each other since, the narrator s and King Claudius situation
revolves around the topic of regret. A person will keep on feeling guilty and regretful
for their past actions that they have committed against their loved ones or family
members, which they are unable to atone for, with every incident still fresh and
painful in memory, it will always come back to haunt their
43. English Essay on the Environment
Karen Coy Marin
English 101 B01
October 15, 2011 It is common to see advertisements both locally and globally
stressing the importance of proper environmental management preservation and
conservation. Imprudent ecological governance has led to the extinction and
diminution of several species of wildlife and plants. Mankind s pursuit of
industrialization to make work easier, has resulted in the dangerous depletion of the
earth s natural resources. Fingers are pointed as the blame is cast on organizations
such as church and state. It appears as if humanity has refused to accept that proper
environmental management is everyone s duty. Even though mankind was given the
mandate to be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth (Gen. 1: 28), ... Show more

The demand for wood and land by Europeans, as well as the use of fossil fuel, have
destroyed the environment and have drastically depleted the natural resources that
the inhabitants depend on for food and shelter. This resulted in causing a greater
rift between the rich and the poor, and with this rift the poor become less capable
of attaining resources from the environment they need to survive. When less
resources are available, more poor go hungry, and starve. [5] This apathy for the
adverse effects of an action on another reveals insensitivity. Christians can make a
difference within their communities and workplaces by being more eco friendly.
Leading by example is a great way to subtly advocate policies that are
environmentally friendly, such as proper recycling and energy conservation. The
Christian s role is to stand up for what is right, speak against it, and boycott
activities that are contrary to biblical teachings. God s command to the children of
Israel was that every seven years the land should not be cultivated but allowed to
rest (Lev. 26: 34 35). With that knowledge, believers should come together and
seek to enforce similar laws that will allow ecological restoration. In the essay No
Margin for Error, New York Times reporter Bob Herbert, addressed the harmful
effects of global warming. He pointed out that it threatens creation as it destroys coral
reefs, raises temperature, and can possibly result in melting the
44. Comparing Coachella, Larkfest And The Marley Fast
Festivals make so much money in the beginning of the year. Festivals like
Coachella, LarkFest, and The Marley Fest are the most popular in the country. Most
parents give their teenagers festival tickets as a christmas present so they can have
fun. What most parents don t know is that in the festivals their kids can easily smoke
and drink. The festivals are the most popular because it is easy for young adults to
consume drugs. The LarkFest is an example of how easy young adults can get
alcoholic beverages. Larkfest has relaxed on the I.D. policy for purchasing drugs and
alcohol.
Coachella is most known for the consumption of cocaine and use of marijuana.
Coachella tickets cost around $400. Since the Coachella Festival is close to the start

I understand that venders at the festivals will lose profit but it is the law that they
shouldn t sell drugs or alcohol to underage drinkers. I would focus on the I.D. policy
and not care about the money because I know I would be saving teenage lives. That
would be the ethical thing to do. I think that the publishing of drugs should be banned
from sites that teens might use. They should publish the Festival drugs but on adult
websites.
Does my decision harm anyone? I don t think my choice harms anyone because
people can still sell but they should be aware of the I.D. policy. The vendors lose
profit but they will be helping teenage lives.
My fifth step I cannot prove because no one has seen my decision. To conclude my
research I never thought that underage drinking and smoking was a common case
until i began. I don t think teens know the trouble they may get into in the later
45. Functionalist Theory And Homosexuality
The functionalist theory and the symbolic interactionist theory in regards to sexulity
and sexual orientation are vastly different. The functionalist theory perspective is that
our society upholds heterosexuality as the normative and ideal behavior. This is also
known as institutionalized heterosexuality. The symbolic interactionist perspective is
that sexual orientationis a time bound and culturally specific social invention.
Heterosexuality is something that we as a society think of as unchanging, consistent,
and universal. Homosexualityis a master status, an identity that determines how others
view them and how they view themself. These two perspectives help us understand
the social problem that is inequality in the LGBT+ community
46. What Role Does Davina Play In American Culture
Davina lived in the Terra borough that lay at the foot of the mountain chain. She was
an imperious dame in her seventies and sported a halo of curly snowy white hair in a
poodle cut. Similar to most of the other Gnaritonians, the abundant light from her
enormous eyes curiously clouded all her other facial features. Although Davina
cordially inquired about their expedition across the Milky Way, she did not dwell on
their country of origin, unlike the custom on Earth. She seemed to recognize their
common humanity immediately even though they came from a different planet. The
four waiters spread out silently. Before the weary travelers knew it, the first course of
the tantalizing feast materialized before them. Hello friends, I m Ronan, ... Show

Without money motivating our actions and thoughts, we are free to pursue our
genuine interests. Some choose to be plumbers or farmers whereas others are
teachers or librarians. For example, I am one of the newscasters of the Gnaritus
News on television. Since there is no hierarchy here, no role is more or less
important than another. Nonetheless, everyone works in some capacity and
contributes happily to the smooth functioning of the day to day activities of the
space colony. Although there are no formal requirements to perform a particular
role, everyone eventually finds their niche. Moreover, everyone has an important
part to play on Gnaritus. Although the motivation of working for money is no
longer present, we have pride in doing our jobs well because that is the ultimate
reward. Since there is no pursuit of money or materialistic possessions, there is no
crime or corruption either. Instead, our quest is to seek knowledge. In fact,
Gnaritus University runs twenty four hours a day to accommodate the high
volume of students of all ages. Individuals with professional degrees from Earth
also further their education at Gnaritus University. They study a diverse array of
subjects not necessarily related to their professions. Thus, we have more reasons
than ever before to get out of bed in the morning since our quest is to gain the
knowledge of all things! Davina put a particular emphasis on the knowledge of all
things. Surina wondered how it could even be possible to have the knowledge of all
things. Where would you even start? By that time, the waiter had brought them a
sumptuous raspberry and blueberry sherry trifle for dessert, a dainty confection of
heavenly flavors and

Antonio Ricci: The Bicycle Thief
Antonio Ricci, the protagonist of Vittorio De Sica s Bicycle Thieves, inhabits an
Italy torn apart by the Second World War. The decaying city streets and mass
poverty is a far cry from the society united under communism envisioned by earlier
neorealist filmmakers. De Sica uses Ricci to critique capitalism, as well to document
the struggle of the masses in Post War Italy. The theft of his Bicycle sends Ricci,
along with De Sica s camera, across Rome and into the depths of Roman society.
The film emphasizes the rift between the upper and lower classes of Italy. The job
Ricci lands at the beginning of film has him putting up posters featuring Rita
Hayworth, a reminder of Hollywood idealism and a symbol of American wealth and
glamour. Ricci later claims that movies bore him, perhaps echoing the sentiments of
the neorealists. The restaurant scene juxtaposes Ricci and his son, Bruno, with a
bourgeois family sitting at another table. The staff act contemptuously towards the
protagonists, avoiding eye contact and hurriedly delivering their food, furthermore
their table is the only one in the entire restaurant without a tablecloth, De Sica
suggests that capitalism is not only the division of wealth, but the division of people.

After he loses it, he seems to value its return as much as he values his own family.
He repeatedly fails to consider his son s well being in his unrelenting quest to
locate the bike, marching onward as Bruno trips and falls behind him. Capitalism in
effect corrupts and distorts Ricci s values and morals. The bicycle itself works as a
symbol of this corruption, a material possession (like money), that becomes almost a
physiological need within a capitalist
48. Mozart Bach Research Paper
Seen today as one of the most influential and inspirational composers Bach s
magnificence and brilliance was not truly recognized until a hundred years after his
death. Bach raised the bar for how music was composed and played. He strove for
perfection in his pieces. This all started from his childhood upbringing, be it his
Lutheran faith or the tragedy that stuck when he was merely ten. These parts of his
childhood shaped the master pieces of Bach s work.
Bach was raised in a family full of composers, and his beautiful voice got him into
the best musical schools as a child. Not only was he surrounded by music at home and
school but also in his religious life. Bach s family were devoted Lutherans and thanks

Just a few ways Bach revolutionized music was how he played the clavicle. Wanting
more variety Bach tuned the clavicle differently creating what we now call a Well
Tempered clavicle which allowed Bach to compose pieces in keys no one had
really composed in before. Bach composed these pieces as he said for the profit of
the musical young desirous of learning . Because of these pieces future composers
like Mozart learned how to compose music. A few more musical contributions
from Bach was the counter points of his music. Each piece of Bach s works, even
when played separately, are beautiful but when woven all together much like a
tapestry the true beauty of the piece shows. Bach s music is often seen as heavy,
this is partly because of dissonances and the emotions it conveys in his works.
When it came to music Bach was a passionate man which sometimes got him in
conflict with his employers. Even as a young man he showed a desire to liven up
his playing and/or composition. This carried out into his life where he tirelessly
persued excellence. Bach s works being extremely complex means that even
performers must strive for a new form of perfection to play the piece to its full
potential. Bach composed his vocal and instrumental pieces the same which often
meant the vocalists would go for a long period of notes before being able to take a
breath. All these components are what makes Bach s music so beautifully

Don t litter, it makes the world bitter!
Have you ever noticed as you re walking the amount of cigarette butts that litter the
ground? On the sidewalk, in the dirt, in the bushes, in a parking lot, on the beach,
near a river, or even surrounding a trash can. Probably not, if you weren t really
paying attention or because you honestly didn t care, but you should. Although
cigarette butts may seem harmless, they re just as dangerous as an actual cigarette.
They have the same toxins as a cigarette integrated into their filter, which can harm
and kill unsuspecting animals. The littering of cigarette butts must stop, we must
begin to take measures to prevent these small cylinder looking pieces of paper from
destroying our environment.
To start with, cigarette butts contain a form of plastic called cellulose acetate; this
plastic is non biodegradable, breaking down slowly, taking between 2 to 25 years to
even start breaking down. As well as, the toxins that are used in the filter, such as
chemicals like cadmium, arsenic, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

50. Egyptian Revolution Vs American Revolution
Revolution
In February 2011, when the Tahrir Square movement forced President Hosni
Mubarak to resign, Abdel Fattah El Sisi became leader and president. Sisi is soft
spoken and very different from the other leaders. Mubarak held his power for almost
30 years. He was overthrown by a revolution that lacked leadership and organizational
structure. In June 2012, Egypt s first democratic Presidential election was won by
Mohamed Morsi, a leader of the Brotherhood. Morsi didn t wait for anything, he
forced the retirement of the Minister of Defense, along with the leaders of the
Navy, the Air Defense, and the Air Force. This move was praised by young
Egyptian advocates or opponents, who saw it as a sign that Morsi was determined to

This relates to the theme because the people of Egypt got rid of President Hosni
Mubarak and eventually wanted to overthrow Mohamed Morsi. That is exactly what
revolution is. It s the overthrowing of an established government such as their
president.
The Egyptian revolution is similar to the American revolution because the thirteen
colonies revolted against Great Britain in 1763 lasting until 1785 just like Egypt
revolted against their presidents and governments. The American Revolution ended in
favor of the thirteen colonies because they got their independence from Great Britain
like they wanted by becoming the United States of America. The Egypt revolution
worked at first when they overthrew President Mubarak but not President Morsi.
I think Egypt did the right thing by revolting against President Morsi. He was only
doing things to benefit himself. It sounded like he was trying to become the one
and only leader of Egypt when he issued a Presidential ruling that gave him all
temporary powers beyond the reach of any court or system. That s not fair. If I was
in Egypt s situation I would definitely try to rebel against him too just like the state
institutions such as the police did. I would do everything in my power to get him out
of the presidential role. That is what I think about the Egypt
51. India s First Genetic Breeding Program Using The Germ...
Keggfarms was established by Vinod Kapur in the year 1967. It is one of India s
oldest poultry centric organisations, set up with the intent to make essential
contributions to the development of poultry in India. This was made possible by
pioneering India s first Genetic Breeding Program using the germ plasm (pure
breeding stock). Keggfarms was among the first companies, in the developing world
to come up with this with demonstrable results. As a result of Keggfarms
intervention, India could stand as the only country outside the developed world,
which is self sufficient and self reliant in high yielding poultryand is able to compete
favourably with the very best in the world. Therefore, this industry has developed on
the basis of a concept that was pioneered and validated by Keggfarms.
Vinod Kapur says that he started dreaming about establishing a poultry breeding farm
after a deeply thoughtful, but casual conversation with his father in 1963. The facts
that poultry breeding was a pristine and untested genre in India and related to social
concerns were major motivational factors for him. He quit his position at Western
Indian Match Company (WIMCO) to create India s first genetic poultry breeding
farm that he had purchased from Parks Poultry Farm in the United States. Keggfarms
successful experience at genetically breeding poultry in India eventually led the still
protectionist Indian government to mandate that all poultry breeding stocks be bred
in India.

Music is my life. I live, eat, sleep and breathe music. It s what keeps me alive, it s
the blood pumping through my veins, it s the one thing I can relate to when times
are too tough to handle. There is one particular rock group that changed my life
completely, and I am fully prepared to explain why. They are called Green Day, the
single most inspirationally powerful band that I have ever looked up to. I admire
them for several reasons, the main one being that no matter how much each of them
have been through, they still followed their dreams of becoming musicsuperstars.
Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead vocalist and lyricist of the band knew what he wanted
to do for the rest of his life at a young age. He grew up in the small town of Rodeo, ...

and perseverance, and that alone motivated many people to pick up the guitar, bass or

53. The Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is an important milestone in Canadian
history. An effort through rigorous debate and compromise gave birth to this
document that defines our collective values and principles by guaranteeing and
protecting the fundamental rights of its citizens. Prior to the Charter, there was no
gurantee in Canadathat rights and freedoms would not be taken away by legislation.
The Charter also allows courts to render the constitutional duty so that any decisions
made are consistent with those rights and freedoms. The Charter was established
firmly in The Constitution Act, 1982 , with the declaration of this act Canada
escaped from the severe practice of concept of parliamentary supremacy. The Charter
has an enormous effect on court s decision power to award justice to important and
debatable issues about policies that affect public. In awarding the verdict courts are
not even reluctant to rewrite laws that violate the testament of the Charter. The judges
have a duty to regulate the rulings of both provincial and federal governments which,
disagree with the root value of Charter. The Charter will always remain a matter of
debate among different schools of thought. The opponents of the Charter argue that it
weakens the essence of a democracy by striking down legislations passed by an
assembly with elected members of parliament. While on the other hand it can be
argued that a written constitution in a modern democratic society strengthen its

Women s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, will defend her belt against
Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 195. Rousey made the announcement during
her appearance on Good Morning America on Friday. She also noted the date for
the fight as January 2nd. In addition, it has been confirmed that the showdown is
going to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Center. The
fight is also the only one on the UFC 195 card thus far. The announcement shocked
many in the MMA community who thought the third installment of Ronda Rousey

favorite, but this fight has a different dynamic. Meanwhile, Holly Holm, a relative
newcomer to the sport, began taking MMA fights in 2011 and wasn t even in the
UFC until 2014. Holm posted an impressive boxing career before moving her focus
to MMA, with a record of 33 2 3 in the ring. She has an undefeated 9 0 record in
MMA and is just 2 0 in the UFC. Holm will hope to use her punches from her

that potential in her first two fights in the UFC, expectations have seen a steady
