Neck pain is a common condition, ranking as the fourth most burdensome disease worldwide.
Evidence suggests that rates of recurrence and chronicity are high (Borghouts et al., 1998;

al., 2012). Joint mobilization (JM) is widely acknowledged as an effective intervention (Childs
et al., 2008). However, a Cochrane review indicated that the most effective cervical JM dosage
has yet to be determined (Gross et al., 2010). Multiple studies have established a sympatho
excitatory effect resulting from cervical JM (McGuiness et al., 1997; Vicenzino et al., 1998; La
Touche et al., 2013). On the contrary, Yung et al. (2014) developed a distinctive dose using
anterior to posterior pressures (AP) of the cervical spine that resulted in a reduction in systolic
blood pressure (SBP) and heart rate (HR), suggesting a sympatho inhibitory effect. Therefore, it is
indeterminate whether cervical JM results in sympatho excitatory or sympatho inhibitory effect if
the dosage (Yung et al., 2015) is different from the traditional 3 sets of continuous 30 90 second

I went to the Ann Arbor Art Museum to see the exhibit Moving Image: Landscape. For this
exhibit I looked at three different works of art by Jim Campbell, Rick Silva and Antti Laitinen.
The first piece I saw upon entering was by Jim Campbell called Seal Rock and it was displayed
on the wall. The work of art was of misty rocks with LEDs behind the image to create a sense of
movement. I enjoyed watching the movement of the mist and thought it was very calming.
While interesting, it seemed like this piece would be better suited in a restaurant or waiting
room of an office rather than a museum. Next, was the artwork called Render Garden by Rick
Silva. On a flat screen 42 inch TV displayed on the wall, there was a digital image of plants that
continually changed, creating new combinations. The art was very colorful and seamlessly
became a new image. I appreciated the time and effort put into creating the digital image and

Baltic Sea about a hundred feet in. The middle screen was of the sand bags piled up with a tree

and pesticides in which we use on a daily basis can have on us. No, not just us humans, but
everything that surrounds us. The plant life; the animals; the bacteria, insects, and other types of
organisms that live in the soil which sustain the plant life, which in turn feed the animals who
feed us, and so on. It has come to the attention of many that the chemicals used in pesticides don t
only cause harm to those living things above the ground, they bring harm to every living thing,
and could eventually wipe out earth as we know it. Mankind has created its own destruction with
the creation of some very deadly chemicals. Chemicals used on a daily basis to insure our crops
survive or that our lawns look healthy and beautiful. These chemicals are also used to protect our
forests from destruction from an infestation, or ourselves from insects who are carriers of human
disease. However, throughout this process we are contaminating other living creatures and
bacteria that could be beneficial to our well being, and the well being of everything that surrounds

The Meaning Behind Seeing In the short story Cathedral by Raymond Carver, there is a very
insightful message spoken about the true definitions between having sight and being able to see.
The story focuses on three characters, and they each have emotions connected to one another,
whether it be trust, jealousy or compassion. These characters include a blind man named Robert,
the narratorwho is unnamed in the story, and his wife who also does not receive a name for the
story line. Each of these characters have been through a series of obstacles which are clearly stated
in the short story. Some of the difficulties, however, need to be interpreted in between the lines,
such as the narrator s alcoholism issues and marital problems with the narrator and his wife.
Quite a few of the difficulties the characters come across in Cathedral , were based off of the
painful life Carver lived. When Carver was asked if his life moments were inspiration for his
collection of stories his answer was, None of my stories really happened, of course... but there s
always something, some element, something said to me or that I witnessed, that may be a starting
place (Caldwell n.pg. 17). From Cathedral the audience can become aware that ...Carver weaves
into Cathedral a narrativeof alcoholism, from addiction and alienation to bitter self awareness and
