My Favorite Place
One of my favorite places in the world that has affected my life the most is my
childhood town and my home in Mobile, Alabama. I grew up in a beige, two story
house that sits on a long yard backed up to Dog River. My house is about ten
minutes outside of downtown Mobile, AL and is very close to Mobile Bay.
Spending time near the water and growing up in the area that I did greatly influenced

century poem, The Divine Comedy. For this reason, the original name of The
Thinker was The Poet; however, as the piece began to gain precedence over The
Gates of Hell, its name was changed, and today it is commonly recognized as a

of the socialist movement in France during 1906 and onwards, which was a time of
political and social turmoil. As a result of The Gates of Hell, Rodin s most famous
