in the future as NTHP in this paper), the concept is reflected in their decision to
break away from government funding. Because Congress had designated them as a
trust, they had a large portion of their budget in their hands, about a fifth. When

projects as a way of creating jobs without burdening the government with additional

hates poor people and refuses to give any money to help them. He gets visited by
three ghosts who teach him to care about people and to not be so tight with his
money. The story starts off with Scrooges deceased partner Jacob Marley appearing to
him on Christmas Eve and warning him that if he does not change his ways when he
dies he will spend the rest of eternity as a ghost roaming the Earth with tons of chains
dragging him down. Marley also warns Scrooge of the three ghosts that would appear

One prominent and reoccurring theme of the story To build a Fire by Jack London
is the need to possess instincts. The importance of one s instincts is brought to
light when, despite warnings from the locals, a man decides to travel along the
Yukon Trail with only his native wolf dog. It is during this trek, when they are
faced with the dangers of the extreme cold, that London brings rise to his theme:
the need for one to possess instincts. He does so throughout the story by showing
the contrast of the dog s instinctive behavior and its ability to survive compared to
that of the man s. He shows the contrast by pointing out the man s unconcern for
the cold, his inability to sense danger, and finally his incapability to survive in the

If given the opportunity to be a part of this program, I will take full advantage of
the resources provided by the program in order to better prepare myself for the
future ahead of me. I will inquire my Heart 2 Heart Mentor how to prepare for the

professional school, particularly at DMU. In addition, I will develop a rapport with
