My Essay Writing
Embarking on the journey of writing an essay on the topic of "My Essay Writing" may initially
seem like a straightforward task, given the seemingly personal nature of the subject. However,
delving into the intricacies of self-reflection and articulating one's thoughts on the process of
essay composition can prove to be a challenging endeavor.
Firstly, the inherent subjectivity of the topic poses a unique challenge. Writing about one's own
essay-writing experiences demands a level of self-awareness and introspection that can be both
revealing and uncomfortable. It requires navigating the fine line between self-promotion and
genuine reflection, a task that demands a delicate balance to avoid coming across as either
boastful or overly self-critical.
Moreover, the process of dissecting personal writing habits, creative inspirations, and the
evolution of one's skills involves a deep dive into the recesses of memory and thought. It
necessitates a candid examination of successes and failures, moments of frustration, and
instances of triumph. Such introspection can be a demanding intellectual exercise, pushing the
writer to confront their writing idiosyncrasies and confront any lingering insecurities.
Beyond the introspective aspects, the challenge extends to the presentation of these thoughts in a
coherent and engaging manner. The writer must grapple with the task of translating personal
experiences into a narrative that resonates with readers. Striking the right balance between
relatability and uniqueness is a constant struggle, as too much personal detail can alienate
readers, while a lack of specificity may render the essay generic and unremarkable.
In addition, the essay should not come across as self-indulgent or lacking in broader
significance. Articulating the relevance of one's individual writing journey to a wider audience
requires a skillful weaving of personal anecdotes with universal truths about the writing process.
This task demands not only a nuanced understanding of one's own experiences but also an
awareness of the broader context in which writing takes place.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "My Essay Writing" presents a multi-faceted
challenge that involves navigating the complexities of self-reflection, balancing personal
revelations, and crafting a narrative that is both engaging and universally relevant. While the
journey may be arduous, the resulting essay has the potential to offer valuable insights into the
intricacies of the writing process. For those seeking assistance in navigating such challenges,

Benching Jim Crow Summary
Review of Benching Jim Crow by Charles H. Martin If states are the laboratories of
democracy, then sports are the arena in which it is tested. This book serves as a
review of racial integration and the changing dynamics in sports from 1890 1980.
Charles Martin aims for the reader to understand why it was common place for white
southerners to compete against non black ethnic minorities (E.G. Native Americans,
Chinese), but an issue when even a single African Americanwas on an opposing team.
Benching Jim Crow explains to the reader that the persistence of segregation lay with
overarching cultural mentalities left over from the Civil War, but shifts in position
came from external (financial), and internal (students and players). Though offering
little insight into the legal and political impacts of Jim Crow itself, Martin paints a
detailed, but redundant, narrative of the rise and fall of Jim Crow in athletics.... Show

As schools began to engage in intercollegiate sports at the turn of the century,
Southern schools unofficially required that the opposing team bench any of their
players if they were colored. If the team declined to do so, it was common place for
the southern school to not field a team. Martin explains that Southern universities
would rarely know the lineup of their competitors in the earlier years of football, so
these decisions were often made upon arrival. More likely than not, when a southern
school forfeited a match it would lay blame to the opposing team for not respecting
its long standing traditions and sensibilities. (18,
Mya Alternate Ending
The prince watched her carefully as he moved to sit in his chair beside the king.
Conversation had started once more but the prince s gaze remained on her, even if
not directly. Kayla ignored him and filled her plate with fruit and eggs before turning
to Mya.
How did you escape? She asks quietly.
Mya turns to her then and leant over, crushing her friend in an embrace. Brian got us
out, all thanks to you Kayla . Kayla froze in her place. What?
Mya pulls back, smiling wide. You told Brian who we were sold to. Our uncle,
Vincent, had been searching for us for years. Our parents... they... passed a year

Kayla has no idea why the queen would be telling her this and questions swirl in her
mind in a torrent. Micheal was king? He took the queen s daughter? Who was the
daughter? Is she alive? Why? Why did Micheal sink to Escort trafficking after being
the king of Afawia?
Her throat closes at the unimaginable possibility forming in her head. She s never
been that lucky, she s not that kind of person either. It s not possible. Even if it was
true, why was she abandoned to the foster care system of New York? Her heart
sinks as she realizes that, how absurd it is to hope that she s the long lost princess,
and it crushes the small budding flower of hope under the cold, hard boot of reality.
No, she ducks her head, hiding tears threatening to fall. No one would abandon a
princess, especially one Heir to the Faircth Empire, in an empty apartment complex.
Her heart crushed, she sits quietly, letting the queen work through her own emotions
as she dredges up this story from what looks like a long and painful
Criticism And The Pre-Raphaelite Movement
Dante Gabriel Rossetti once said, beauty without the beloved is a like a sword
through the heart. Exhausted of the Royal Academy, William Holman Hunt, John
Everett Millais and Dante Gabriel Rossetti decided to break away, and drew
inspiration off of Shakespeare, the Bible, Ancient Mythology, along with other
multiple sources of inspiration. Formed in 1848, the main focuses were on nature
and bright colors. The Pre Raphaelite movement was like the re birth of the
Renaissance Era, which approximately began in 1300. Invented by a group of 3
people, the movement focused on poetry and writing as well as paintings, an accurate
view of nature, and depicted physiological and social tension, religion and color. The

Key factors in the importance of Pre Raphaelite painting was the emphasis on
painting literary themes, involving romance, and developing psychological and social
tension. Millais Isabella casts off the influence of William Etty, as well as the
traditional composition, lighting, and detail of Victorian standards Hunt, later
repudiated the notion that the movement aimed at any kind of revival of early
Renaissance styles (Prettejohn 19). The group focused on more significant subjects
such as medieval tales, poetry, and religion, while emphasizing color and
psychological stresses. The group individualized as they aged, with Rossetti
concentrating more on mystical themes and individuality, and Hunt working towards
realism, but with moralistic and modern themes. In elevating color as a sensual
element in painting these painters risked affronting those who associated color with
what was disparaged as passionate, fleshy, and feminine in art a lack of control and
emotional excess in contrast to the disciplined rigor of sound draughtsmanship
(Prettejohn 135). Throughout the Pre Raphaelite movement, art was focused on
realism, while others strived away from that, and did more mystical like paintings,

Recently, the Government announced its intention to open up the retail sector to
foreign investment. It is still, however, debating whether to allow 26 per cent or 49
per cent FDI in the sector.
Benefits of FDI in Retail Sector:
Higher competition would lead to higher quality in products and services.
Better lifestyle as better products would be introduced.
Exports would increase due to greater sourcing of major players.
Investment in whole supply chain would increase.
Technology would be upgraded in terms of logistics, production, and distribution
channels.
The markets of the sector would flourish and develop.
Employment would increase and skills manpower will develop.
A strong retailing sector would promote tourism.
Economies of scale would help lower consumer prices and increase the purchasing
power of the consumer.
In the long term it will be beneficial in the up gradation of agriculture and small scale
medium scale industries.
Supportive policy
The government has been opening up various sectors and privatize some sectors
(telecom, aviation, insurance and energy). This shows its positive attitude to FDI
inflows, Retailing has already been looked at as a prospective area for FDI. The
Government is also promoting investment in supply chains and infrastructure like
real estate through FDI to facilitate retail growth.

Got Mud? Hiking the Big Cedar Trail to Kennedy Falls, North Vancouver
Mount Fromme, a mecca for local mountain bikers is considered by many to be the
crown jewel of the North Shore, but don t be fooled by the men and women riding
the trails. Day hikers are also welcome in the area and the Big Cedar trail to Kennedy
Falls is a must see. Who can resist a 600+ year old red cedar, cascading waterfalls,
boulders, deadfall and creek crossings? I know I can t!
The hike to Kennedy Falls is approximately 10km long, and in terms of mountain
trails it is relatively flat. As an added bonus, due to the low elevation of the trail, it
generally remains snow free for the majority of the year, ideal for spring adventures.
Of course, with spring rain, comes MUD. Be prepared to get dirty. The route is quite
rugged and visitors need to be willing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I marvelled at the strength and stamina those early loggers must have had. This
would not be easy terrain to log, especially without modern equipment and clothing. I
muttered a silent thank you for Gortex and fleece. Continuing along the trail, lost in
thought, I rounded the bend and came to a complete standstill. I had arrived at Big
Cedar. To say it took my breath away would be an understatement. You must see this
marvel of nature to believe it. Rumoured to be over 600 years old this majestic giant
towers over the second growth forest. It seemed fitting to stop and savour the moment.
Tearing myself away from Big Cedar, I continued up the trail towards Kennedy
Falls. The light in the forest was constantly changing, highlighting the green mosses
and ferns. At that moment, I heard the sound of rushing water and knew the falls
were close. As I neared the waterfall, I could feel the temperature drop and mist on
my face. Spectacular! Now does anyone have a clean pair of socks I could
Lab Report Of Caffeine
Introduction
The process Sublimation is a method used to disconnect a natural product from
different undesired compounds and after that it is purified by the change of state
from solid to vapor. The majority substances, under typical states claiming climate
pressure, progress its stage with a temperature rise from solid to liquid and to gas.
Meantime other compounds, like iodine and carbon dioxide experiences sublimation
at this pressure. By bringing down the temperature and pressure of a system, we can
influence change in crude caffeine. Crude caffeine is extracted from tea or coffee,
our experiment was on tea. We got 9.6g of crude caffeine and it contained some
purities. It became crude due to the lower boiling point of pure caffeine than the
impurities. Therefore, pure caffeine went through the direct change of state before
the impurities. We separated and collected the caffeine from impurities by
condensing it in a closed area. To produce pure caffeine this process is used by
commercial industries in a large number of scale, but for our laboratory purposes,
we performed in a small filter flask, a rubber hose to connect to the flask and the
vacuum. A conical centrifuge which worked as glass cold finger and it was fitted
into the flask with a pluro stopper.
Experimental
Prepared hotplate with a mantle by preheating at 200 В°C and filled the mantle
holes with glass wool. The crude caffeine was placed into a 25ml filter flask. With a

Female Vaginal Microbiome
The female vaginal microbiome plays a pivotal role in the maintenance and
protection of urogenital health. The extent by which it is able to defend and protect
against potentially pathogenic bacteria and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is
strongly associated with a high relative abundance of vaginal Lactobacillus spp.
Lactobacillus spp. prevent colonization of potential pathogens through the production
of lactic acid, bacteriocins and biosurfactants. Conversely, depletion of vaginal
Lactobacillus spp. is associated with an increased abundance of anaerobic bacteria
including Gardnerella, Prevotella and Dialister spp., an increase in vaginal pH ( 4.5),
and is strongly correlated with the polymicrobial, pro inflammatory vaginal disorder,

It is estimated that by age 50, at least 80% of all women will have been diagnosed
with HPV at one point in their lives (CDC). HPV is a viral infection which can be
delineated into two categories based upon oncogenic potential: low risk HPV (LR
HPV) responsible for benign subcutaneous warts, lesions, etc (cite) and high risk
HPV (hrHPV) which is the cause of HPV related cancers. Cervical cancer is the
second most common cancer in women world wide and contributes to ______
deaths in the U.S per year (CDC). Persistent infection with HPV is necessary for
the onset of cervical cancer however, long latent periods of individuals with HPV
suggests that HPV alone is insufficient to induce cervical cancer (Fernandez, 1995).
Recent studies have investigated the association between the structural composition
of the vaginal microbiota and HPV: in 2013, a study of 68 HPV discordant female
korena twins showed that HPV positive twins had lower levels of Lactobacillus spp.
and increased Fusobacteria and Sneathia spp. compared to HPV negative tiwns.
Consistent with these finndings, analysis of vaginal swabs collected longitudinally
for 16 weeks from 32 sexually active women found that a Lactobacillus spp.
depleted, Atopobium spp. enriched (CST IV) community structure is associated with
slowest regression of HPV whereas a Lactobacillus gasseri dominated microbiome

Situated on 250 acres, Lonnie Poole has an 18 hole golf course with varying
difficulties for players, a driving range, and a clubhouse with a full service restaurant
and ability to host events.
Service Life Cycle
Lonnie Poole Golf Course only offers products/services that are used immediately,
those being golfing, eating, or attending an event on the campus. There is a golf pro
shop on the property, but it is run by an independent management group. Market of

Customers for Service
The customer base for Lonnie Poole is primarily local, targeting the Raleigh golfing
community, NC State employees and students, and locals who are interested in

Why Service Needed
The Lonnie Poole Golf course offers a world class golf experience to all, but it is
especially necessary for the NCSU Golf Teams for both practices and games
played. Without a campus owned golf course, both the Men s and Women s golf
team for NCSU would be forced to constantly travel to both practice and play their
matches. This would not only cost the University a lot of money, but also eliminate
all revenue generated by the golf course.
The clubhouse is necessary for all administrative personnel as well as the sale of golf
related services/goods and dining. It is also necessary as a place to host the
The Role Of Guilt In Criminal Law
Chapter 2 explains in detail the factors that could lead a person to do one of the
most unbelievable things a person could do: to admit guilt for a crime that he/she
did not commit, known as a false confession. Police officers are trained to make
criminals confess, however, the techniques used by them, such as bluff, excessively
long interrogatories, the Reid technique, and the use of false incriminating evidence
could make anyone confess, even innocent people. As incredible as this sounds, this
is an ongoing issue in the history of criminal law. People who are more at risk to
break under this kind of pressure are young, mentally or intellectually impaired, or
possess personality traits such as compliance and suggestibility (Perillo, J. T.,
Teachers Perception Of Merit Pay
Teacher perception of merit pay Over the years, the American schools have
struggled with the issue of educational reform due to accountability. Many teachers
today, strongly believe they are underpaid for the services they perform in American
classrooms. Some states have developed a merit system towards teacher s pay as
incentive to boost teacher s morale and increase student s achievement. The question
that is posited, how bias is this system when it comes to teachers who work in
poverty stricken areas and schools that are at risk. Those teachers are not equally
capable of increasing student achievement, as their counterparts in schools that are in
areas that are more affluent. Merit pay is defined as connecting the teacher s pay to
the achievement
Staples
Staples, as one of the largest retail companies in the US, has experienced low
growth rate in recent years. As shown from the historical data in Table 1, the
annual real growth rate has been negative since 2010. Specifically, the compound
annual growth rate (CAGR) from 1996 to 2016 is 5.66%, while the CAGR from
2006 to 2016 drops to 1.68%, and it decreases further to 7.33% from 2011 to 2016.
This obvious comparison indicates that the future of Staples sales is not
optimistic. Staples is now in the decline stage of its life cycle. The company s year
over year growth for each year from 1996 to 2016 is not very constant. In particular,
sales growth was about 20% from 1996 to 2000, then it declined to 10% from 2001
to 2009, and declined further... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the major business, North American Stores Online occupies the biggest portion
of Staples sales. According to Statista, the number of US digital buyers will keep
increasing from 176.7 million in 2016 to 196.7 million in 2020 with a CAGR of
3%. So it is reasonable to predict that sales from physical stores would continue
declining due to the switch of customers and the two year store closure program of
Staples, which has closed 242 retail stores in 2014 and 2015 together. But after
three to five years, the segment growth rate could climb back after the retail
structure is fully adjusted. In this way, we assume the segment growth rate would
be 8%, 6%, 4%, 2%, 0 for the first 5 years and be stable at 2% afterwards. North
American Commercial sells and delivers products and services directly to businesses,
which is a recent focus of Staples, and its growth rate is the most stable one among
all segments. According to Fortune in 2016, Staples has turned to a medium sized
business rather than a Fortune 500. Therefore, the business is expected to have a
constant growth rate at 3% in the future, which is consistent with the current growth
rate of

Commodification Of College Sports Essay
Colleges in the United States previously focused solely on education, while
emphasizing their character and minds. They focused on the student as an athlete
making that their main focus and concern. Together, the idea of athletics and
academics complemented each other. While the focus remained on the student, the
individual was able to learn valuable skills that would assist them in the real world.
Since then, the focus of collegeeducation has changed to concentrating on the idea of
entertainment. A well rounded student athlete is no longer expected since they are
sacrificed for the sake of the audience s enjoyment. Today, athletic programs exist as
entities, pretending to act in the best interest of the institution. Carson and Rinehart
argue that the disappearance of the college student athlete has occurred for numerous
reasons. Primarily, colleges began to encompass the idea of athletics and their
benefits directly towards the institution. This means that the focus is now aimed
towards the financial enterprise of athletics directly through ticket sales, broadcasting,
merchandising and much more. College... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
College athletics no longer serve as an extracurricular activity got students, but rather
as a product. In addition to this, the commodification of college sports has also led to
the exploitation of student athletes. Since academic ideals have fallen, the
exploitation of African American athletes have reinforced this. They now dominate
on college teams, but treating someone different to benefit from their work is
shocking. Due to the desperate need for success in athletics, colleges have put their
moral compasses aside to recruit African American athletes who will benefit the team,
regardless of the cost. They receive privileged treatment in the recruitment process,
which has essentially disregarded any of their academic

Neoliberalism In Chile
The republic of Chile is home to a very diverse geographical setting, unlike
anywhere else on the planet. 2,650 miles of Pacific coastline makes up the western
border of Chile, while the eastern border is with Argentina, one third of it being
divided by the Andes Mountains and the remaining being direct. To the north, Chile
borders Peru and Bolivia, although the declared borders of these countries are
separated from Chile by the Atacama Desert. Aside from the mainland of Chile,
Chile also claims sovereignty over Easter Island and, due to its relative close distance
from Antarctica, it also claims sovereignty over approximately 483,000 square miles
of the Antarctic landmass. The current population of Chile is 17.8 million people,

This is a result from the economy being built upon neoliberalism ideology and a free
market economy, while being infused with socialist and capitalist principles. Aspects
of neoliberalism include a reliance on local and global free markets, with the state
maintaining a minimal role of the political economy. In fact, based on the 2014 Index
of Economic Freedom, Chile has the 7th freest market in the entire world, ranking
ahead of even the United States. These aspects are evident in the Chilean government
s approach to the economy, as they favor foreign investment and international trade.
One way in which the Chilean government has attempted to increase the amount of
foreign investment is through their privatization of Chilean ports, waste water
treatment facilities and private investment in the construction and operation of
domestic infrastructure. The Chilean government chooses to have a limited role in
the regulation of the economy, with the only heavily regulated aspects consisting of
utilities, the banking system, security markets and pension funds. These free market
principles of Chile can be seen as very capitalistic, this is due to the fact that much
of the economic suffering during Allende s rule was because of his socialist policies.
A large part of Chile s economic success is a result of their willingness to participate
in capitalistic means. They are a very favorable foreign investment, considering how
supportive the government is of foreign investment, which happens to be the basis
that the economy thrives on. Foreign countries feel confident in their investments in
Chile due to the stability and the easy going nature of the government. Countries such
as the United States, Canada, Mexico, along with the rest of South America, are
some of the biggest exporters of Chilean
Quaker s Reasons For Buying Snapple And Snapple Essay
1. Quaker s reasons for buying Snapple and their strategy for Snapple
Quaker wanted to expand their footprint in the beverage industry and add Snapple to
create the most innovative distribution system in the industry. They expected the
following benefits:
For consumers: Snapple and Gatorade will be available in many more locations
For trade customers: more merchandising, points of sale, and in store refrigerators
For Snapple: Quaker s resources, management skills, packaging experience, supply
chain expertise, and modern information systems.
For Quaker: Economies of scale and higher penetration for Gatorade (increase in
sales, points of sale, geography), especially in cold channels. Synergies between the
two brands in cold and warm channels, and geographic presence as well as the
combination of corporate and entrepreneurial mindsets.
The strategy was to integrate Snapple s entrepreneurial culture but manage the brand
with a corporate perspective. This included cutting ties with Snapple s eccentric
spokespeople and transitioning the brand from fashion to mainstream and lifestyle.
Also, Snapple s distributors should only supply cold channels (with Snapple and
Gatorade) whereas Quaker would integrate Snapple in its distribution to warm
channels.
2. Root causes for Quaker s failure with Snapple
Quaker s strategy eroded Snapple s positioning and appeal for consumers, alienated
channel partners, and left them with a large product portfolio that is difficult to

modern economy, to politics, to our immense society and the various cultural factors
it holds. Globalization accounts for our highly intricate world to become unified in
all aspects. One of the key factors that makes globalizationso powerful is its ability
to spread communication. Nations are able to communicate with one another to

Though all schools of thought have a common goal to increase and develop the
economy, their views differentiate on who it should benefit. Economic neoliberalism
focuses on economic freedom to benefit the individual and limit the amount of power
that states can hold. They support market based systems because of the limited
government regulation. Market based systems are created to meet the need of the
people and consumers, rather than producing solely for the purpose of increased
government power and control.
The global shift towards market based economic systems has undoubtedly promoted
globalization. The change towards market based systems has four primary
components. This includes the transfer of state owned enterprises, division of
previous state owned monopolies, deregulation of markets, and the creation of a
lawful system that supports private enterprise, as well as protects property.
Furthermore, market economies are more likely to participate foreign investments
and take part in worldwide trade, rather than the socialist alternative.

Causes And Effects Of Historical Trauma In Native
American...
Understanding the causes and effects of historical trauma is imperative to truly
comprehend the current state of afflicted communities today. As historical trauma
influences multiple generations, the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
on the health of Native American populations is an important issue to consider and
can possibly be viewed as an indication of historical trauma. ACEs are traumatic
events that occur during childhood, such as abuse and neglect, and are known to have
severe implications throughout an individual s lifetime. The following review of
literature explores impacts of historical trauma, the prevalence of ACEs in indigenous
communities, interventions for healing, and future improvements in the field.
Historical trauma is a concept that refers to the wounding of generations due to
traumatic experiences such as boarding schools, forced displacement, and genocide.
Responses to this distress manifest in a number of social issues. For example,
alcoholism and substance abuse could be recognized as attempts to numb unresolved
grief. Other manifestations of emotional responses to this trauma include abuse,
depression, domestic violence, and suicide. A framework for understanding the
effects of historical trauma on communities is provided by Evans Campbell (2008) in
her article, Historical Trauma in American Indian and Native American Communities
. These three levels include individual level impacts, family level impacts, and
community level impacts.
The Pros And Cons Of Computer Science
What is Computer Science? Is it about observing scientific experiments on a
computer? Is it a type of engineering for computers? Well to answers those thoughts,
no. Computer Science is all about the software side of computers. Coding is the key
word. Running and creating programs is what computer science is. To create
software, one must know a programming language. So then the big question is, for a
computer programmer what coding language should they learn?
First off, the language C is known by many programmers as a lingua franca. A
middle ground language for coders. If coders know C, they know C++ and
possibly C#. C# s syntax is similar with C/C++ but distinct differences separate
them. Microsoft created C# as a competitor to Java, so think of this as a fork in the
road for C. As stated in Wendy Logan s (2008) article, Is C dead? , she made the
point that C is the language for test engineers because of how convenient and
effective it is. She also disclosed that C can optimize code beneficially to the coder
because of the language s greater access to the hardware and operating system.
This ability leads to fine tuning of the program size and execution speed of the
compiler. The article mentions how C has a well known community, so coders
have greater access to code reuse tools. C has a specific purpose in the industry
because of Microsoft Visual Studio, it gave coders of the language a place to develop
for.
Reading further in Wendy s article, she wrote about the
The First Airborne Jamming Test
These developments in radar prompted experiments to find whether or not ITS
transmission could be denied or defeated. The first airborne jamming test took place
in London and involved a continuous wave transmitter. Following this test, anti
jamming systems were attached to the direction finding systems which then evolved
into the Chain Home radar system along the eastern coast of the U.K. These anti
jamming systems were the first examples of electronic counter counter measures
which is now a sub category of electronic warfare called electronic protection. (price

Gestapo s Cruelty and Role Played in the Holocaust
The roles of the SS,SA and the Gestapo are going to be revealed . These positions are
all played in the Holocaust from 1929 to 1945. There was a very high role of cruelty
and death taking in all three positions. Each played a role as for taking either a Jew
s life or anyone else that was considered undesirable. There will be over a million
deaths just of these three positions because of the role played for the Nazi Party in
Germany between that period of time involving World War 2. I
The first topic is the Schutzstaffel, which is the SS. The SS was founded in April of
1925 by Adolf Hitler. The SS was discovered as a group of personal bodyguards for
Hitler. The small group of the SS went from being only 300 members in 1925, to
about 50,000 in 1933, because of Heinrich Himmler. Heinrich Himmler commanded
the SS in 1929, to 1945 when its disintegration occurred. Between about 1934 to
1936, the SS expanded their responsibilities and gained control of Germany s
police forces. Since the SS gained more responsibilities they divided into two sub
units called the Allgemeine SS (General SS) and the Waffen (Armed SS). Both of
the subunits combined were about 250,000 member by 1939. One of the roles, or
something they dealt with (general SS) was the local police, and with racial matters ,
and also with foreign espionage and counterintelligence. General SS s main program
was Reichssicherheitshauptamt ( RSHA, Reich Security Central Office in German).
The RSHA was divided into four
Bosnian Genocide Causes
The Bosnian Genocide is a genocide that began in April 1992 with the goal to
ethnically cleanse Bosnian territory. Serbians targeted Bosniaks (Muslim Bosnians)
and Croatians civilians and aimed to eliminate them through the use of former
Yugoslavian military equipment. Before the genocide began, many different ethnic
and religious groups lived under Yugoslavia s communist regime. Although there was
tension, President Josip Broz Tito was able to keep the country together through
dictatorship. Tito was considered a benevolent dictator and his regime ensured that
the country stayed unified. However, when Tito died in 1980, the tension between
different ethnic and religious groups increased and eventually led to the Bosnian
genocide. Slobodan Milosevic rose to power seven years leader by using nationalism
to his advantage. Milosevic favored the Serbsand and made changes to the
constitution to show this. Milosevic also formed a military that was 90% Serbian.

The New Golden Age of Television
Television is so popular that it is almost a vital part of life to most people. According
to the article The Real Golden Age of Television , the first successful demonstration
of electronic television was introduced on September 7, 1927. (Handy William). It
was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Charles Jenkins is also an important
person to the creation of television because he created the first mechanical TV on
June 23, 1925. (D Addiro). These two men are responsible for what we have today;
good quality television. Since then television has brought tears, laughter, joy, and
many other memorable moments to the lives of people. Television came to its own
in the 1940 s and 1950 s. During this time period television began to emerge into
the households many families. This was something new to people. Never would
they have thought of being able to sit in watch entertainment out of a TV screen.
Then in the 1964 was the beginning of the old golden age of television. The reason
for this claim is for the invention of color television made it more popular (Clapp).
All television programs were in black and white before this unbelievable creation.
This gave television viewers a better experience than the past because they were able
to see things differently. Though the era was magnificent there was more to come.
Time advanced into the 2000 s and so did television. Many
It Speaks With Authority In The Scarlet Letter By...
A quotation in a speech, article or book is like a rifle in the hands of an
infantryman. It speaks with authority. The Scarlet Letter Nathaniel Hawthorne
When he found the eyes of Hester Prynne fastened on his own, and saw that she
appeared to recognize him, he slowly and calmly raised his finger, made a gesture
with it in the air, and laid it on his lips. (Hawthorne 92 3). This quote reflects the
overall theme because when we look at the novel and the story, it all revolves
around secrecy and hiding the truth. This quote is from where keeping secrets
begin. Hester Prynne, the main character has committed adultery by cheating on
her husband, Roger Chillingworth (who was away) with Reverend Arthur
Dimmesdale. Hester has been caught because she couldn t hide her pregnancy
which led to punishment. While she is out on public display to be shamed, her
husband comes into town. Now, no one knows who her husband is, they just knew
she was married. As for Roger, he does not want anyone to know that he s the
husband. So when he sees Hester and she sees him, he puts his finger on his lips
so she knows to not say anything. Then, all throughout the book, the Author is
trying to hide that he s the father of the child and that he s the one who committed
adultery with her. The quote is the start and the theme of the book. The raising of
the finger to his lips is the sign of secrecy and from then on, it s a battle between
keeping the truth hidden and letting the truth and consequences get out. The
secrets are what causes everything in the book to spiral out and happen the way
they did. Their secrets have consequences. Beloved Toni Morrison That s what

was written was to reveal the horrors of slavery and what it can do to a person. This
quote perfectly reflects that; it describes what Sethe, the main character, went through
as being a former slave. Sethe attempted to kill and killed her two

The Things They Carried is a short verisimilitude story. It was written by Tim O

captivating and life changing story that it has become. Tim O Brien introduces us to
life during the Vietnam War. He captures the feelings of each soldier as they were in
the battle field. We are involved in their dreams, fears, and the ghosts that haunted
them. These were some of the things they carried. First LieutenantJimmy Cross

introduced to Cross. He is a young soldier that is responsible for his platoon. He is
only 22 years old. He carries his love for a young lady by the name of Martha. He also

keep himself calm. He carried tranquilizers and dope. He also carried extra
ammunitions because of his fear. Lavender ended up being the biggest weight that

Gross Domestic Production (GDP)
Gross domestic product (GDP) is the total output of absolute commodities and
services that a nation puts out including exports but not including imports. Gross
domestic product is used to measure the health of a national and global economy.
When gross domestic product is increasing, particularly if inflation is not an issue,
employees and industries are usually better off than when it is not. GDP signifies
the economic growth and production, symbolizing the whole dollar value of all
goods and services produced over a precise time period. It sums up the output created
within the margins of a country. GDP is made up of goods and services produced for
sale in the market. The GDP is the sum of domestic consumption; new capital
investments; government spending, and the difference between the values of goods
imported into the United States and the value of exports to other countries.
Gross domestic product can be measured in two ways using income approach or
expenditure method. When using the income approach, GDP (I), you add up what
everyone made in one year, which would include rent, wages, interest and profits
earned, by the selling of the merchandises in the nations market. The income
approach is determined by accumulating the total payment to workers, gross profits
for incorporated and non incorporated companies, and taxes without aids. This
method is the most complicated because measuring income is much more complex
than measuring spending. Whereas, when using the
How Philanthropy Is Overrated
Philanthropy is almost the only virtue which is sufficiently appreciated by mankind.
I can get behind this idea about how philanthropy is overrated. I m sure Thoreau is
referring to extremely affluent people who give away portions of their hard earned
cash simply because it makes them look like better people and they will be
respected and glorified as charitable benefactors. In reality, this person has given
hardly a fraction of their total worth and is unjustly honored by the monetary
standards of those who aren t that rich. Thoreau also says, Nay, it is greatly
overrated; and it is our selfishness which overrates it. The previous example is a
prime case in which it is selfishness (of the benefactor) that overrates the philanthropy

Experiment 1 : Redox Titration Using Sodium Thiosulphate
Abstract
This experiment is to determine the concentration of oxidizing solution using the
iodine/ thiosulphate titration where the reducing solution is potassium iodate
solution and the oxidizing solution is sodium thiosulphate solution. Potassium iodate
solution which is an oxidizing agent is added into an excess solution of acidified
potassium iodide. This reaction will release iodine. Potassium iodide is acidified with
sulphuric acid and the iodine released quickly titrated with sodium thiosulphate until
it become light yellow. The iodine then detected with starch solution and it turn into
dark blue solution and titrated again with sodium thiosulphate until colourless. From

3. 25 mL of standard potassium iodate solution prepared in part A are pipetted into
a 250 mL conical flask and a magnetic flea is added into conical flask. 4. 1 g of
potassium iodide, KI, is weighed approximately and it is placed in a 50 mL beaker.
5. 10.0 mL of 1.0M sulphuric acid solution are added and are swirled until all the KI
dissolved. 6. This solution is added to the conical flask containing the potassium
iodate solution and it is immediately titrated with the sodium thiosulphate solution,
while it is stirred using a stirrer hot plate, until a ligth yellow solution is obtained.
Then, the solution is diluted with distilled water until the total volume is about 100
mL. Then, 1.0 mL of starch solution is added and the titration is continued until the
blue colour disappears and the solution become colourless. 7. The final reading of
the burette is recorded in the table 1.1 . The procedures are repeated twice as the

The Media s Negative Portrayal of African American Males
They squirmed, pencils tapping their desks anxiously; none of their papers

And just as the reign of these tyrants appears be coming to an end, another barrier to
equality is appearing on the horizon: the media.
In my experience, TV in general is doing a huge disservice to any hopes of future
racial parity by its extremely unfair portrayal of the young African American male.
These young men are literally only shown on TV as sports stars, in the very best
cases, and unfortunately most commonly seen as jewel adorned rappers, spewing
obscenities, making offensive gestures at the camera, hustling around scantily clad
young women as if they are simply commodities, and rapping about having sex and
smoking weed. Honestly, in the past few months I have yet to see a young African
American male portrayed as thoughtful, analytical, poetic, artistic, or even, sadly
enough, remotely intelligent or mature.
This might be acceptable if the case was such, but my experience alone proves
otherwise. I know plenty of young African American males who are mature beyond
their years, and extremely academically inclined. However, for reasons unbeknownst
to me, the media industry is either stuck on typecasting these men or deliberately
choosing to represent them only as non intellectual people. This is an outrage because
inherently it does not allow young African American males to even entertain the idea
that they can and should rise above the image of themselves with which they are
barraged every day. By promoting these unjust
Spider Man Compare And Contrast Essay

Spider Man , Simmi Patel, both present their information about Spider Man
differently and similarly through their purposes, points of views, and facts chosen.

information about Spider Man s creation. The author Simmi Patel writes about how
Stan Lee was able to get his idea about Spider Man across successfully after many
failures. The author Max Bruno also writes about Spider Man s creation. Both
authors include information about Stan Lee s failure and about the artists that he

the other hand, Simmi patel only writes about the basics. Patel writes about how
Spider Man was created in the 1960 s. Patel does not write about how Spider Man is

Both authors have different points of view. Simmi Patel is only generalizing
Spider man s creation. Patel does not write further on how Spider Man has

about Spider Man. He wrote about Spider Man s graduation, marriage, and career

draw an insect based superhero comic and was rejected by Lee. Bruno goes on to
write about how two writers, Jordan Raphael and Tom Spurgeon, who disagree about
Essay on Bluest eye
Toni Morrison s novel, The Bluest Eye, presents the lives of several impoverished
black families in the 1940 s in a rather unconventional and painful manner. Ms.
Morrison leads the reader through the lives of select children and adults, describing a
few powerful incidents, thoughts and experiences that lend insight into the
motivation and. behavior of these characters. In a somewhat unconventional manner,
the young lives of Pauline Williams Breedlove and Charles (Cholly) Breedlove are
presented to the reader. Through these descriptions, the reader comes to understand
how they become the kind of adults they are. Background informationis given not

Thus, Pauline s actions as an adult are more easily understood through this knowledge
of her childhood.
One of the most striking images is the description of Cholly Breedlove s is his
memory of a picnic where a family is enjoying a watermelon which the father
smashes against a rock. Cholly is impressed with the image of the father holding
the melon high above his head like the devil holding the earth up, ready to smash it.
quot;He never felt anything thinking about God, hut just the idea of the devil
excited him. And now, the strong black devil was blotting out the sun and getting
ready to smash open the world. quot; This passage is a foreshadowing of Cholly s
adult life. He is attracted to the idea of power, strength and excitement and as a
strong black adult, Cholly feels his freedom and uses it against himself and his family.
Another powerful incident, Cholly s first sexual experience, gives insight into the
rage, confusion and tenderness he feels towards women in his adult life. The narrator
describes the incident with Darlene and the white men through Cholly s eyes. The
reader understands the initial excitement of young sexual energy, and the later
humiliation of being caught by the cruel white men. Cholly directs his anger towards
Darlene rather than towards the white men

The United States School Systems
The United States school systems are in trouble, and so are its teachers and
principals. Michelle Rhee, former chancellor of the Washington DC public schools is
enforcing standardized tests. There was a law passed, No child left behind, which
stated that by 2014 every child in the United States should be proficient in English
and mathematics. This law brought along the DC Cast Standardized Test. Rhee took
this law very seriously. She was going from schoolto school meeting with its
principal and going back and looking at the test scores since he/she became the
principal of that school. If the test scores of that school went down drastically
since during their time as principal, she fired them. She also kept her eye out for
teachers and had them working hard to bring up the student s test scores. If the
students do poorly on these tests, both the teachers and principals jobs are at stake.
Basically, if the test scores did not go up, they had to find another job, and I do not
think that is fair. Teachers and principals should not suffer for the student s
performance, because student test performance can be poor due to many things.
Also, some students just do not care, and no matter how hard the teachers try, they
do not want to learn the material. Rhee thinks that our nation is soft because in
Korea, where she is from, everyone is ranked. She remembers being in a classroom
as a kid where every student was numerically ranked. She believes that it is not only
okay, but
Examples Of Porter s Diamond Theory
What is Porter s Diamond framework regarding the theory? Porter s Diamond
emerged as a model to explain why a nation can successfully achieve international
success in a particular industry. In short, diamond model is a micro analysis tool to
identify core competitiveness of a nation and region. According to Porter in his book
The Competitive Advantage of Nations , the theory begins from individual industries
and competitors and builds up to the economy as a whole, where the outcome of
struggles in individual industries will determined economy of the nation s state and
the way it progressed. Diamond model become a significant contribution to economic
theory that embraces the essences of economic theories in the past. These all includes
the thought result of all major economists of the past two and half centuries, starting
from Adam Smith with Absolute Advantage Theory, Comparative Advantage Theory
by David Ricardo, Hecksher, Ohlin, and Vernon. The main research of Porter is
centralized in his statement that the national prosperity is gained and not inherited
(Porter, 1990). Based on this statement, Porter disagree with traditional economic...

Analysis of Terrorism Cases
ANALYSIS OF TERRORISM CASES
Introduction
Terrorism manifests itself in many forms. Ideological terrorism, national terrorism
and religious terrorism are some forms of terrorism that became common after the
Second World War. Several theories and hypotheses have been put forward to explain
the causes of terrorism. Among these the negative identity hypothesis explains how
frustration with social norms and roles combined with restricted channels of
expression can lead people to group together to engage in terrorist activities to assert
themselves. This essay discusses the Baader Meinhof activities, the LTTE terrorist
activities and the state sponsored terrorist activities of Iran in the light of the negative
identity hypothesis.
Identification and Description of Facts
The Baader Meinhof group was a radical German middle class uprising against the
establishment of post World War II Germany. The terrorist activities of this
particular group lasted until the mid 1970s after which the movement morphed into
the Red Army Faction that remained active until 1998. The Baader Meinhof group
was formed by Andreas Baader and Gundrun Esslin. Other active members of the
group included Horst Mahler and Ulrike Meinhof who was a well known journalist
in Germany. The group engaged in armed struggle to protest against imperialist and
fascists Nazi remnants and ideologues such as the in the German power structure
(Roberts Hogwood 2003, p. 1971). The leader Baader was jailed in 1969 but

The effects of energy drinks once poured in the human body Once you consume an
energy drink your whole body is affected including you brain, your bloodstream,
your heart, and your skin. Energy drinks are really bad for you if you drink it a lot;
they say it could affect how you work out because energy drinks lead to sugar

live in large lavishly decorated homes while plebeians live in small modest homes or
in apartment style housing. Nonetheless, any Roman home functions as a refuge
from the commotion of a hectic Roman life (Zanker 135). Since a home is
considered to be a very private place, the differentiation of magnitude, art, and
architecture in Pompeiian villas enlightens us on how these artistic elements
contribute to an aristocratic rank in society. The various uses of art and architecture
can therefore deem what is to be expected in each villa by society and how the villa
proves to be the highest societal ranking home within the Pompeiian society. All
villas, with their use of Greek architectural elements (Ling 46) contribute to the
overall elegant architectural themes of the structure. Corinthian columns display a
stylistic architectural element that is used to support the weight of the roof above the
peristyle garden (Ling 48). In extremely luxurious villas, the outdoor space contained
not only one but two peristyle gardens (Ling 46). This use of architecture would
mark the home owner as a high position in society simply based on the cost of
creating the peristyle garden. In addition, the peristyle garden conveys the idea that
villa owners have assimilated the knowledge to know the importance of classical
Greek architecture. Furthermore, the use of incorporating nature within the villa
Hurricane Ima Reflection
Millions of Floridians evacuated up north during Hurricane Irma but I was one of
the few that stayed behind. Since I work for Residential Life I stayed behind as an
essential personnel, helping over 600 students take shelter in Parkview Hall and
keep calm during the hurricane. Overall, the week of the hurricane was one of the
most challenging weeks I think I have ever experienced. It s so unfortunate how
Hurricane Irma affected so many homes, businesses and lives. I am extremely
grateful to be safe and sound. In my first year as a graduate student, I witnessed
history which is something I learned a lot from.
On Friday, September 8th the Residential Life staff got together for a meeting, that
included Graduate Assistants, Residence Life Coordinators, Associate Directors, the
Assistant Director, the Director of Housing and the Director of Residential Life. In
addition, FIU police department officers were in the meeting. When I arrived to the
meeting we received the news that we were evacuating to Parkview Hall. We had two
previous meetings during that week to talk about Hurricane Irma, but the plan was
always to shelter in place which meant residents had to stay in their bedrooms and
could not leave their residential hall. However, this time around, Hurricane Irma
turned into a category 5 and was headed in our direction which meant we had to
evacuate to the safest residential hall on campus which is the west side of Parkview
Hall. During the meeting we came up with a plan
Comparison Of Parabens, Phtalates And Butylated
Compounds
An endocrine disruptor is any chemical that when used can cause an interference in
the body s ability to function and carry out everyday bodily functions. Three of
these disrupters are Parabens, Phtalates and Butylated Compounds. Parabens are a
commonly used preservative in 75 95% of cosmetics. As a loophole allows
parabens are considered as a fragrance ingredient but most likely will not be listed
because manufacturer are not required to reveal fragrance chemicals in their list of
ingredients. Parabens act as a synthetic estrogen and throws off the hormonal balance
within ones body. Since parabens are water soluble, when they are applied to the skin
and body the body absorbs them, the parabens in the cosmetics skip the normal
Essay about Budget Economy in the United States
From the penny to the 100 dollar bill, every cent of money counts in our
government. Keeping track of it and knowing how much we are spending compared
to how much we are making is on of the harder tasks to handle for our three branches
of government. Currently, the economic situation is less than ideal. No matter what
side of the political spectrum one falls, it s evident that there are issues with economy.
The executive, legislative, and judicial branches all play an important part in the
budget and economic system.
President Obama s view on the economy is a very share the wealth kind of ideal.
His plan was to bring economical hope to lower and middle class citizens that wanted
more economic equality in the United States. He also ... Show more content on

Therefore, conditions are moving nowhere towards a positive outcome, and it
shall remain that way for quite a while, but since the economy has not gotten better
at all, more and more people are beginning to point blame at Obama, which will
prove deadly to him in his campaign for reelection. The New York Times has an
article stating that the stocks are steadily decreasing for major industries such as
Barnes Noble. The Washington Post printed an article on December first about the
debt in Europe and how it is affecting America s industries. Banks are now loaning
money to European banks in fear that if the European economy crashes, then a new
global depression will begin, which is causing many investors to grow wary of their
investments. In The Los Angeles Times, there is an article about California
predicting that the economy will slip further in to recession, which will result in
even more budget cuts for many industries. According to an article from December
second in, The Wall Street Journal, The United States and Russia are beginning to
slowly pull themselves out of their economic issues, while the rest of the world
continues to dig itself in to a global economic slowdown. However, the Houston
Chronicle boasts about Houston s rising economy, and that in one year, the number
of jobs available from September 2010 to September 2011, rose by two point six
percent. Although the world seems to be having many economical issues, Houston
remains is putting up
Birmingham Jail Chapter 6
Chapter VI: Why does the narrator leave Jacksonville for New York? What does he
do during his first night in New York? With what result? How does he respond to
hearing ragtime music for the first time?
a.The narrator leaves Jacksonville for New York because the cigar factory that he
was working in shut down permanently. Instead of getting a job at a different
factory in town, the narrator decided to join some other works and go to New York
for work. On his first night in New York, he starts out at a house that has been
converted into a bar. He plays at a craps table and finds out that he is actually really
good. Later on in the night they go to a place called the Club. The music within the
club is ragtime and it resignated with the narrator. ... Show more content on

I think because the Texan believes he will always be right is the reason that he
remains committed rather than answer the Colonel s questions. He believes that
the Anglo Saxon race will always be superior. This could also be because the way
he was raised meaning he knows no different. He is encouraged because he is so
passionate about his topic. The narrator wants to become that passionate about
something. The narrator was extremely inspired by the big meeting. Because all of
these individuals were so enthralled by the songs in the Church, that they made the
narrator want to be that marvelous at song production. He is a bit uncomfortable
at the idea of them singing slave songs but is later inspired by the meeting. The
narrator witnesses a black man being burned alive. He is humiliated by this event
because he is a part of a race that becomes such a victim to the horrific crimes and
actions that are made against them. I do believe that the narrator was right to return
to New York. I believe that he was better off there. He was able to make a life for
himself and his future family. Although it is not as valiant as perhaps standing up for
your race or starting a movement, he did what was right for his
Injutice Injustice
The fact that crimes, drugs, and criminals have increased in America, is part of the
reason why I am afraid to live in Sacramento. It is really hard to trust anyone or
depend on the criminal justice system. There are even bad cops in America who
have not been convicted for their wrongdoings. Many individuals get away with
their actions because either are financially privileged, or have plenty of connections
in the law enforcement. Those who are defined as middle class or poor do not have
the ability to bribe others to receive what they want, or have the power to relinquish
themselves out of trouble. Injustice is something that has always been relevant; a
problem in American history and a problem today. In the textbook, Give me Liberty
by Eric Foner, he uncovers the story on the trial of Anne Hutchinson. This trial was
brought to my attention because what had happened to her was unethical. Hutchinson
was charged with sedition which is the action by encouraging others to rebel against
the authority. She also held meetings after church to talk about the bible. Anne
Hutchinson announces her own point of views that are above the human law and
church teachings. For example, Her meetings, said Governor Winthrop, were neither
comely in the sight of God, nor fitting to your sex (Foner 74). We were all born with
the ability to speak upon our own judgments and because she was educated and had
her own logical opinions that other women did not have, she was on trial for that.

My Essay Writing. How to Write My Essay - A Few Tips For New Writers - Newscrable.com

  • 1. My Essay Writing Embarking on the journey of writing an essay on the topic of "My Essay Writing" may initially seem like a straightforward task, given the seemingly personal nature of the subject. However, delving into the intricacies of self-reflection and articulating one's thoughts on the process of essay composition can prove to be a challenging endeavor. Firstly, the inherent subjectivity of the topic poses a unique challenge. Writing about one's own essay-writing experiences demands a level of self-awareness and introspection that can be both revealing and uncomfortable. It requires navigating the fine line between self-promotion and genuine reflection, a task that demands a delicate balance to avoid coming across as either boastful or overly self-critical. Moreover, the process of dissecting personal writing habits, creative inspirations, and the evolution of one's skills involves a deep dive into the recesses of memory and thought. It necessitates a candid examination of successes and failures, moments of frustration, and instances of triumph. Such introspection can be a demanding intellectual exercise, pushing the writer to confront their writing idiosyncrasies and confront any lingering insecurities. Beyond the introspective aspects, the challenge extends to the presentation of these thoughts in a coherent and engaging manner. The writer must grapple with the task of translating personal experiences into a narrative that resonates with readers. Striking the right balance between relatability and uniqueness is a constant struggle, as too much personal detail can alienate readers, while a lack of specificity may render the essay generic and unremarkable. In addition, the essay should not come across as self-indulgent or lacking in broader significance. Articulating the relevance of one's individual writing journey to a wider audience requires a skillful weaving of personal anecdotes with universal truths about the writing process. This task demands not only a nuanced understanding of one's own experiences but also an awareness of the broader context in which writing takes place. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "My Essay Writing" presents a multi-faceted challenge that involves navigating the complexities of self-reflection, balancing personal revelations, and crafting a narrative that is both engaging and universally relevant. While the journey may be arduous, the resulting essay has the potential to offer valuable insights into the intricacies of the writing process. For those seeking assistance in navigating such challenges, similar essays and a wealth of writing support can be found on HelpWriting.net. My Essay WritingMy Essay Writing
  • 2. Benching Jim Crow Summary Review of Benching Jim Crow by Charles H. Martin If states are the laboratories of democracy, then sports are the arena in which it is tested. This book serves as a review of racial integration and the changing dynamics in sports from 1890 1980. Charles Martin aims for the reader to understand why it was common place for white southerners to compete against non black ethnic minorities (E.G. Native Americans, Chinese), but an issue when even a single African Americanwas on an opposing team. Benching Jim Crow explains to the reader that the persistence of segregation lay with overarching cultural mentalities left over from the Civil War, but shifts in position came from external (financial), and internal (students and players). Though offering little insight into the legal and political impacts of Jim Crow itself, Martin paints a detailed, but redundant, narrative of the rise and fall of Jim Crow in athletics.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As schools began to engage in intercollegiate sports at the turn of the century, Southern schools unofficially required that the opposing team bench any of their players if they were colored. If the team declined to do so, it was common place for the southern school to not field a team. Martin explains that Southern universities would rarely know the lineup of their competitors in the earlier years of football, so these decisions were often made upon arrival. More likely than not, when a southern school forfeited a match it would lay blame to the opposing team for not respecting its long standing traditions and sensibilities. (18,

Lab Report Of Caffeine Introduction The process Sublimation is a method used to disconnect a natural product from different undesired compounds and after that it is purified by the change of state from solid to vapor. The majority substances, under typical states claiming climate pressure, progress its stage with a temperature rise from solid to liquid and to gas. Meantime other compounds, like iodine and carbon dioxide experiences sublimation at this pressure. By bringing down the temperature and pressure of a system, we can influence change in crude caffeine. Crude caffeine is extracted from tea or coffee, our experiment was on tea. We got 9.6g of crude caffeine and it contained some purities. It became crude due to the lower boiling point of pure caffeine than the impurities. Therefore, pure caffeine went through the direct change of state before the impurities. We separated and collected the caffeine from impurities by condensing it in a closed area. To produce pure caffeine this process is used by commercial industries in a large number of scale, but for our laboratory purposes, we performed in a small filter flask, a rubber hose to connect to the flask and the vacuum. A conical centrifuge which worked as glass cold finger and it was fitted into the flask with a pluro stopper. In fact, based on the 2014 Index of Economic Freedom, Chile has the 7th freest market in the entire world, ranking ahead of even the United States. These aspects are evident in the Chilean government s approach to the economy, as they favor foreign investment and international trade. The Chilean government chooses to have a limited role in the regulation of the economy, with the only heavily regulated aspects consisting of utilities, the banking system, security markets and pension funds. • 20. Causes And Effects Of Historical Trauma In Native American... Understanding the causes and effects of historical trauma is imperative to truly comprehend the current state of afflicted communities today. As historical trauma influences multiple generations, the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on the health of Native American populations is an important issue to consider and can possibly be viewed as an indication of historical trauma. ACEs are traumatic events that occur during childhood, such as abuse and neglect, and are known to have severe implications throughout an individual s lifetime. The following review of literature explores impacts of historical trauma, the prevalence of ACEs in indigenous communities, interventions for healing, and future improvements in the field. Historical trauma is a concept that refers to the wounding of generations due to traumatic experiences such as boarding schools, forced displacement, and genocide. Responses to this distress manifest in a number of social issues. For example, alcoholism and substance abuse could be recognized as attempts to numb unresolved grief. Other manifestations of emotional responses to this trauma include abuse, depression, domestic violence, and suicide. A framework for understanding the effects of historical trauma on communities is provided by Evans Campbell (2008) in her article, Historical Trauma in American Indian and Native American Communities . These three levels include individual level impacts, family level impacts, and community level impacts.

Well to answers those thoughts, no. Computer Science is all about the software side of computers. Coding is the key word. Running and creating programs is what computer science is. To create software, one must know a programming language. So then the big question is, for a computer programmer what coding language should they learn? First off, the language C is known by many programmers as a lingua franca. A middle ground language for coders. If coders know C, they know C++ and possibly C#. C# s syntax is similar with C/C++ but distinct differences separate them. Microsoft created C# as a competitor to Java, so think of this as a fork in the road for C. As stated in Wendy Logan s (2008) article, Is C dead? , she made the point that C is the language for test engineers because of how convenient and effective it is. She also disclosed that C can optimize code beneficially to the coder because of the language s greater access to the hardware and operating system. This ability leads to fine tuning of the program size and execution speed of the compiler. The article mentions how C has a well known community, so coders have greater access to code reuse tools. C has a specific purpose in the industry because of Microsoft Visual Studio, it gave coders of the language a place to develop for. Reading further in Wendy s article, she wrote about the

  • 26. The New Golden Age Of Television Essay Theodore Brown Professor McCauley Intro to Humanities 16 November 2016 The New Golden Age of Television Television is so popular that it is almost a vital part of life to most people. According to the article The Real Golden Age of Television , the first successful demonstration of electronic television was introduced on September 7, 1927. (Handy William). It was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Charles Jenkins is also an important person to the creation of television because he created the first mechanical TV on June 23, 1925. (D Addiro). These two men are responsible for what we have today; good quality television. Since then television has brought tears, laughter, joy, and many other memorable moments to the lives of people. Television came to its own in the 1940 s and 1950 s. During this time period television began to emerge into the households many families. This was something new to people. Never would they have thought of being able to sit in watch entertainment out of a TV screen. Then in the 1964 was the beginning of the old golden age of television. The reason for this claim is for the invention of color television made it more popular (Clapp). All television programs were in black and white before this unbelievable creation. This gave television viewers a better experience than the past because they were able to see things differently. Though the era was magnificent there was more to come. Time advanced into the 2000 s and so did television. Many
  • 27. It Speaks With Authority In The Scarlet Letter By... A quotation in a speech, article or book is like a rifle in the hands of an infantryman. It speaks with authority. The Scarlet Letter Nathaniel Hawthorne When he found the eyes of Hester Prynne fastened on his own, and saw that she appeared to recognize him, he slowly and calmly raised his finger, made a gesture with it in the air, and laid it on his lips. (Hawthorne 92 3). This quote reflects the overall theme because when we look at the novel and the story, it all revolves around secrecy and hiding the truth. This quote is from where keeping secrets begin. Hester Prynne, the main character has committed adultery by cheating on her husband, Roger Chillingworth (who was away) with Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale. Hester has been caught because she couldn t hide her pregnancy which led to punishment. While she is out on public display to be shamed, her husband comes into town. Now, no one knows who her husband is, they just knew she was married. As for Roger, he does not want anyone to know that he s the husband. So when he sees Hester and she sees him, he puts his finger on his lips so she knows to not say anything. Then, all throughout the book, the Author is trying to hide that he s the father of the child and that he s the one who committed adultery with her. The quote is the start and the theme of the book. The raising of the finger to his lips is the sign of secrecy and from then on, it s a battle between keeping the truth hidden and letting the truth and consequences get out. The secrets are what causes everything in the book to spiral out and happen the way they did. Their secrets have consequences. Beloved Toni Morrison That s what they came in there for. Them boys found out I told on em, School teacher made one open my back and when it closed, it made a tree. It grows there still. (Morrison 16 7 ) One of the reasons as to why Beloved was written was to reveal the horrors of slavery and what it can do to a person. This quote perfectly reflects that; it describes what Sethe, the main character, went through as being a former slave. Sethe attempted to kill and killed her two

  • 29. Gross Domestic Production (GDP) Gross domestic product (GDP) is the total output of absolute commodities and services that a nation puts out including exports but not including imports. Gross domestic product is used to measure the health of a national and global economy. When gross domestic product is increasing, particularly if inflation is not an issue, employees and industries are usually better off than when it is not. GDP signifies the economic growth and production, symbolizing the whole dollar value of all goods and services produced over a precise time period. It sums up the output created within the margins of a country. GDP is made up of goods and services produced for sale in the market. The GDP is the sum of domestic consumption; new capital investments; government spending, and the difference between the values of goods imported into the United States and the value of exports to other countries. Gross domestic product can be measured in two ways using income approach or expenditure method. When using the income approach, GDP (I), you add up what everyone made in one year, which would include rent, wages, interest and profits earned, by the selling of the merchandises in the nations market. The income approach is determined by accumulating the total payment to workers, gross profits for incorporated and non incorporated companies, and taxes without aids. This method is the most complicated because measuring income is much more complex than measuring spending. Whereas, when using the

I m sure Thoreau is referring to extremely affluent people who give away portions of their hard earned cash simply because it makes them look like better people and they will be respected and glorified as charitable benefactors. In reality, this person has given hardly a fraction of their total worth and is unjustly honored by the monetary standards of those who aren t that rich. Thoreau also says, Nay, it is greatly overrated; and it is our selfishness which overrates it. The previous example is a prime case in which it is selfishness (of the benefactor) that overrates the philanthropy . Those

In my experience, TV in general is doing a huge disservice to any hopes of future racial parity by its extremely unfair portrayal of the young African American male. These young men are literally only shown on TV as sports stars, in the very best cases, and unfortunately most commonly seen as jewel adorned rappers, spewing obscenities, making offensive gestures at the camera, hustling around scantily clad young women as if they are simply commodities, and rapping about having sex and smoking weed. I know plenty of young African American males who are mature beyond their years, and extremely academically inclined. However, for reasons unbeknownst to me, the media industry is either stuck on typecasting these men or deliberately choosing to represent them only as non intellectual people. She was going from schoolto school meeting with its principal and going back and looking at the test scores since he/she became the principal of that school. It is really hard to trust anyone or depend on the criminal justice system. There are even bad cops in America who have not been convicted for their wrongdoings. Many individuals get away with their actions because either are financially privileged, or have plenty of connections in the law enforcement. Those who are defined as middle class or poor do not have the ability to bribe others to receive what they want, or have the power to relinquish themselves out of trouble. Injustice is something that has always been relevant; a problem in American history and a problem today. In the textbook, Give me Liberty by Eric Foner, he uncovers the story on the trial of Anne Hutchinson. This trial was brought to my attention because what had happened to her was unethical. Hutchinson was charged with sedition which is the action by encouraging others to rebel against the authority. She also held meetings after church to talk about the bible. Anne Hutchinson announces her own point of views that are above the human law and church teachings. For example, Her meetings, said Governor Winthrop, were neither comely in the sight of God, nor fitting to your sex (Foner 74). We were all born with the ability to speak upon our own judgments and because she was educated and had her own logical opinions that other women did not have, she was on trial for that.
