Introduction/Purpose The objective of this experiment was to learn how water displacement affected
density. Another objective was to identify the metals used in our experiments. We used a variety of
different metals to test their correlation and to find out if it was negative or positive. I did not expect to
learn much from this experiment as we had already discussed density in class and learned that water
displacement is basically volume so as it increased the density would have decreased had we used
metals of the same mass. I will share my newfound knowledge through this paper and I will discuss
my finding with my peers and other people who enjoy chemistry. We have been discussing both water
displacement and density in class; I assume the relevancy of this lab was to help people who learn
better kinesthetically a chance to learn the material in a way they learn best.

1. Why was the Supreme Court case, Plessy Vs. Ferguson, important? Plessy v. Ferguson
accomplished the ?separated but equal?.

Brown V. Board Education was one important because it ended school segregation. Most of the people
who wanted this to happen were mostly people in school. Also is mostly the African American people
who wanted this changed for their own good. Also there was this time this African American family
sued a school because her daughter was not allowed to be teacher in a white public school.
Mendez Vs. Westminster
This was a racial segregation problem faced in Orange County. It was mostly a problem for the
Mexican students because of equality. The kids had to go to different schools no matter what. For
them if you were back the Mexican you are Mexican. Then one time five parents decided to step up
and challenge the school segregation.
Hernandez Vs. Texas
In 1950 Pete Hernandez was accused of murdering someone called Joe Espinosa. This case one of the
first time used case in United Sates Supreme Court during the disturbance of the World War II. Garcia
talked about how the fourteenth amendments guaranteed protection to whites but not only that

Definitions of leadership and management.
Although the interviews conducted were unstructured all three practitioners were asked for their
definition of leadership and management. It was thought that questions about leadership and
management could be interpreted in so many ways, whereas having their interpretation helped to
better understand where they were coming from. It was important to understand each individual
perception.
In the interviews conducted management was believed to generate responsibilities such as planning,
paperwork, day to day running and that health and safety is in place. Where as leadership was believed
to be more involved with what the children do, helping others perform their role, inspiring others. A
conversation with practitioner two, that was recorded in the field notes revealed staff not wanting to be
thought of as a manager, preconceived ideas of management made the role something they did not
want to aspire to. Authoritative was a word used. Practitioners stressed on their dislike for the term
managing ,
I don t like the idea of managing, I don t think I manage (Practitioner two).
As early years practitioners, the most important aspect of the job is working with the children.
Many complain of too much paper work that takes practitioners away from working with the children,
which most enjoy and a reason for their career choice in the first place. If practitioners link managerial

Taylorism Theory Of Scientific Management
Many theorists have influenced and demonstrated certain ideas and concepts that influence the social
and psychological factors in an organisational management. Taylorism theory of scientific
management developed techniques for improving the efficiency of the work process. The scientific
management approach revolves around the idea of arranging for work to accomplish proficiency,
institutionalization, specialization, and improvement. With Taylor s scientific approach decisions are
based on science or exact measurements. Taylor s theory decreased its role dramatically in the event of
being questioned whether scientific management was efficient. The human relation school of
management thought developed due to the flaws in the assumptions of the Taylorism theory.
Taylorism was inclined towards efficiency, process and principle, however critiques felt human
behavior was neglected. Organisations should take initiative in helping employees adjust to
organisational life by nurturing cooperative systems between labour and management. Finally, this

Fathers in plays, books, movies, etc., are portrayed in many different ways. Authors never make it
obvious as to the motivation behind the actions of the dads. Do they do it to protect their children, or

Blacks shared the pain of Apartheid in one of the darkest periods in history. Blacks were horribly
oppressed by tyrants who obliterated their happy, healthy lives for nothing more then their own
interests. Many Laws were passed that restricted blacks from the freedoms that all people should

did not feel the need to segregate the cities as much as they did in the past. So initially blacks were

emergency. In 1951 many whites did not like the black people so a commission was formed to set and
