Analysis Of The Midnight Velada
Throughout the entirety of recorded history, the power of words (whether they be spoken aloud or
simply read to oneself) has continuously made an enormous impact within all cultures around the
world. With outlets like poems, songs, stories, and even symbolic writing, civilizations have been able
to develop multiple beliefs and practices through the use of words. A piece of poetry or rather, a chant
that has become extremely significant in the cultural world of the Mazatec people comes from a piece
of work called The Midnight Velada that is traditionally known to be performed by one of the most
famous shamans alive, María Sabina. What is so exceptionally meaningful about this particular poem
is the actual background behind the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sabina is most commonly recognized as a healer and spiritual leader among the Mazatec people that
became extremely prominent in their community from the mid 1950s, till her death in 1985. What
made her so well known by the people of the Sierra Mazateca, as well as the western world, was her
unique approach to the midnight vigil, or the velada, as it is most commonly known by the Mazatecs.
Álvaro Estrada recalls experiencing one of Sabina s memorable veladas with his photographer in his
biographical novel María Sabina: Her Life and Chants in the following entrance:
The simple hospitality of our hosts and their children and relatives...the chanting of María Sabina...
[her] percussive artistry and her solo dancing in the pitch darkness combined with the distant worlds I
was viewing with a clarity of vision never approached by eyesight in daylight...all these
effects...shook us both to the core of our beings (13).
... [TO ADD INFO]
The effect of this particular poem did not only become an integral part of the Mazatec s culture, but it
also began to directly influence the people of the western world, as well. Beginning in the mid 1950s,
following the rise of Sabina s vigils, westerners came from all around to experience the world of
hallucinogens that the Mazatec people offered during their veladas. Famous musicians from the likes
of Led Zeppelin,

A Myriad of Colours
Once upon a time, a chameleon escaped from the zoo and somehow ended up on a cargo ship. It was a
wonder how the chameleon did it. But she was a chameleon, one that can camouflage. It doesn t make
it anymore unbelievable now. So, one day after the chameleon feasted on the leftovers left by the foul
mouthed sailors, She slowly made her way up to the top container. When she reached the top, she felt
bliss, being able to see the sunset from the best seat on the ship. Then the ship suddenly jerked. Little
chameleon always thought the captain to be high. But a chameleon was a land animal, she didn t know
about the rough waves and the currents of the sea. Anyhow, little chameleon didn t mind it, she
continued drinking in the view. She coloured herself the many hues of the sunset because she felt
happy. She wanted to be a part of it.
That night, the sea was especially rough, and the captain did everything to save the whole ship from
the spa treatment . The captain was successful. But Little Chameleon was not as lucky, she got washed
off into the sea. She tried and tried to waddle, swim or simply, survive. She thought she was not going
to get through this cold, dark sea. She was so ready to surrender herself to the Lord. Her thoughts of
halos and angel wings while gazing up at The Lord were soon lost as she found a piece of driftwood.
Rain check on that milord she thought. She was at first tempted to just stay there and drown because
she knew that no one would care. But a teeny

Rene Descarte s Argument Essay
Rene Descartes was a French philosopher in the 17th century. Descartes was not pleased with what
philosophy was based on in during this time in history. He took it upon himself to raise questions in
the world of philosophy. He questioned well known beliefs and beliefs held by many, not just
philosophers. In his meditations, he explains his process of emptying his mind and starting completely
over. In this paper, I am going to evaluate and question his thoughts on philosophy, use his writing to
raise questions about my own beliefs, and compare his thoughts to my own. Descartes begins his
essay by explaining what he is doing and why he is doing it. He says that his whole life has been built
on lies so he decides to clear his mind of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He argues that this is different from normal thought because one can think of something without it
being present. He uses the example of the chiligon by saying that he can think of this many sided
shape, but he cannot form a picture (or image) of it in his mind. Descartes argues that one uses effort
when they are imagining, but not while thinking. He also says that imagination is not a necessity for
being; that he could go on without it. One does not need imagination to exist, Descartes believes.
Descartes thinks that thought is the mind turning on, or arguing against, its own ideas, and that when
imagining things, the mind turns its attention to one s body. From these statements and conclusions,
Descartes makes his final conclusion by saying people cannot imagine things without the existence of
their body. He tells readers that this might be only a chance. At this point he cannot say for sure if the
body exists. He then goes on to interpret and think through the uses of senses and decides if they
deceive him. He wonders if they deceive him of the existence of material objects existing. He says that
this cannot be so though, because they come from God, and again, God is not a deceiver. I object to
the first argument that we discussed. Descartes cogito beliefs. I understand where he is coming

INTRODUCTION:
Our sites (Figure 1.) were spread along the lowest reach of Merri Creek before it runs into the Yarra
River. As a direct result of this there is an extensive valley from the constant presence of fluvial
processes over geological time. The landform patterns at our sites were extensively governed by the
movement and availability of water, with escarpments, gullies, cliffs and spurs of varying steepness all
observed. Figure 1. Topographic map of the meandering form of Merri Creek (topographic map.com,

A Report On The Snowden Leaks Essay
2.2 The Snowden Leaks
2.2.1 History
The government has a responsibility to protect its citizens from terrorism. Since 9/11, this threat has
been constantly growing and the government has taken steps to respond to this threat. The first of
these steps was to increase resources dedicated to identify and prosecute known and suspect terrorists
and would be terrorists to try and gain more information about possible attacks, and serve justice to
those guilty of terrorism. The next step was to restructure existing anti terror organizations (such as
the FBI) and to develop new tools, mostly in the form of legislation, to help combat this growing
threat. However, while implementing these measures, the government also made efforts to protect the
rights and privacy of Americans (https://www.justice.gov/archive/opa/pr/2008/September/08 nsd
807.html : Justice Department, 2008).
However, recent terrorist strikes such as the San Bernardino attack have been carried out following the
widespread availability of encrypted devices for consumers which makes it harder for the government
to collect information regarding these attacks from first hand evidence without support from the
companies involved in creating these products. This cooperation between the government and the tech
companies was undermined by the leak of documents detailing mass surveillance of millions of people
both inside and outside of America by the National Security Agency which led to companies feeling

Describe the observed relationship between salt concentration and the rate of bacterial growth.
MGT is defined as the time taken for the absorbance value to get doubled during a logarithmic growth
period. MGT calculated in the current observation is listed above. MGT attain lowered for the given
species.
What is the apparent optimum salt concentration for V. natriegens you observe from your data?
2 percent is observed as the apparent optimum salt concentration for V. natriegens in the observed
data.
Discussion
What do you observe about the effect of salt concentration on the rate of growth of V. natriegens?
The bacterial growth can be characterized into four distinct stages namely, lag phase, exponential
phase or log phase, stationary phase, decline or death phase. In the lag phase, contextual organism
acclimatized with the surroundings (Mohandas et al. 2017). In this phase, the cell grows but do not
replicate. Thus, no growth in cell mass is observed here. However, in the exponential phase, the
organism grows fast and divide rapidly. The observation denotes that with the increase in the salinity

The Pros And Cons Of Dred Scott
Dred Scott was a slave to Peter Blow family who suffered financial constraints then later sold Scott to
a surgeon John Emerson. Emerson moved with Scott to Fort Snelling where slavery was not allowed
by Missouri Compromise. During his period at Fort Snelling, Scott married Harriet Robinson a slave
too with whom they had two children. Emerson and Scott s family later moved back to St Louis in the
year 1940 where they lived. In 1946 Dr. Emerson passed on, and Scott s family was left behind with
Emerson s widow as their master. After Dr. Emerson demise, Scott sued Emerson s family arguing that
by him having stayed in Fort Snelling, he had attained his freedom while there and he was a free man.
In sought of his freedom, the case was presented to State court, but unfortunately, he lost in case. The
case was appealed, and in the year 1857, the case was ruled out by Chief Justice Roger Taney. In the
ruling, the court ruled out that, Scotts was not allowed to claim any US citizenship as blacks who were
salves or free were not allowed to do so. The ruling also claimed that Scotts had never been free as he
was a slave and they were considered as personal property (Konig, Finkelman, Bracey, 2010). The
ruling led to consequences and effects in the US that affected the country politically, culturally and
legally as outlined in the paper. Legal Consequences and effects. Dred Scott Decision ruling was used

Critical Analysis Of Marks And Spencer
Introduction: Marks and Spencer founded in the late 1800 s by Michael Marks and Tom Spencer
started out as open stalls all over Britain which grew into one of the largest and most popular retailers
in the UK, in 2010 they had 885 stores . Marks and Spencers gained their reputation in the early 1980s
when they adopted a policy of selling only British made clothing and food and started selling under
the brand of St. Michael. Also their returns policy which gave cash returns to customers no matter
when the bought the item made them popular. Marks and Spencer continued grow steadily and the
profitability of the company peaked in 1998 when it became the first British retailer to make profits of
£1 billion. However shortly after this the company saw a decline in profits and fell into a bit of
financial trouble. With change and the introduction of a number of key CEO s the company recovered

This is driven by the number of buyers in the market, the importance of each individual buyer to the
organisation, and cost to the buyer of switching from one supplier to another. However if a business
has just a few powerful buyers, they are often able to dictate terms. As Marks and Spencer are in the
retail industry there a number of close competitors, these competitors give the consumer a lot of
choice, switching to different retailer is easy as alternatives are readily available hence the buyer has
power over the service provider. Also as consumers are price sensitive it is important to keep prices
low or they will go elsewhere. The Power of Suppliers: The Power of Suppliers indicates how easy it
is for suppliers to drive up prices. Prices can be driven up by the number of suppliers, the uniqueness
of their product or service, relative size and strength of the supplier and cost of switching from one
supplier to another. The Threat of New

Essay On Submarines In The Civil War
Submarines in the Civil War
Bridger Barnes
Submarines in the civil war are important because submarines were new during that time ,and
submarines could change the war for either side. IT helped shape the way we fight wars. It also helped
shape the way we fight a war today. It also helped change the whole mindset of war. History
One of the first submarines was built in 1623 and it was ordered by King James the first. The sub was
built by Cornelius Drebbel. According to accounts from that time period it appeared to be a large
enclosed rowboat using twelve oarsmen for propulsion. It is said to have made a trip down the Thames
River submerged at a depth of about 15 feet. Some accounts go so far as to claim that James I took a

Another sub known as The Turtle was built during the last half of the 1700s. John Day (the creator of
the Turtle) successfully built a small sub he used to submerge in shallow water. But one day, he and a
gambler made a bet on how long he could stay submerged in the middle of Plymouth Sound. It is
hypothesised that his sub collapsed under the greater pressure in the much deeper water and that is
what we think is the first death caused by submarine.
This is the Turtle
The most well known Union Civil War submarine was the U.S.S Alligator. The Alligator was designed
by a French inventor named Brutus de Villeroi. While under tow on the way to Charleston, South
Carolina, this sub was lost in a storm. There is a book the book is Secrets of the Civil War Submarine.
The books tells the story of the Alligator in more detail it also tells about its rediscovery.
The Alligator s main priority was to counter the Confederacy attacks that were in the sea. Record s
show how many days it took to make and how much it cost. It took 40 days and it cost $14,000.
The army to use battlized submarines was the Confederate States of America. There submarines were
steam powered. They named this subs Davids after David from the Bible. They named it this because

Employee Performance And Achievement Of Organisational Goals
1 Introduction: 1.1 Background: Employee behaviours could often have an impact on organisational
performance and achievement of organisational goals. In any organisation, its members could display
varied behaviour where minimalists would contribute just enough to maintain affiliation while others
may exhibit overt and discretionary behaviour which is beyond their stipulated job description and
likely to benefit the organisation (Turnipseed and Rassuli: 2005). This latter behaviour where the
employee goes the extra mile proactively engaging in such activities has been described by various
nomenclatures such as Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) by Organ (1988) as cited in
Organ (1997), pro social organisational behaviour (Brief and Motowidlo: 1986), contextual
performance (Borman and Motowidlo: 1993) and extra role behaviour (Van Dyne et al: 1995). OCB
has been one of the important and popular research subjects in the recent years. It emphasizes on the
most preferred employee level outcomes at workplace (Bateman and Organ 1983, Smith et al 1983,
Anderson and Williams: 1996). Although the concept of OCB was proposed by Bateman and Organ in
the early 1980s, the origins of this concept could be traced back to early 1960s when Katz recognized
three distinct behavioural entities for the proficient functioning of an organisation. This includes
induction and retention of the workforce in the organisation, employees performing specific
dependable job roles in addition to

Similar to the United States, Germany s government is divided into three branches: execute,
legislative, and judicial. They also have a constitution, known as Basic Law. The federal government
actively intervenes for the good of the people. The Basic Law guarantees basic rights for private
enterprise and private property, with a stipulation that these basic rights be used for the public good.
The German government has adopted an impressive social security and welfare system. Financial
hardships due to sickness, accidents, or bankruptcy are aided by the welfare system. The government
has also taken great measures to reduce unemployment by forming the Alliance for Jobs and Training.
This Alliance requires that unions in the business community work together to further employment
opportunities. As mentioned previously, Germany has become a successful part of the global
economy. Germany s economic system can be described as a social market economy. Although the
government plays a regulatory role in the market economy it does not have any direct impact on
wages or price fixing. Labor and management, called social partners make agreements on wages,
working hours, the cost of goods, and general working conditions. The cooperation of the social
partners has produced a stable economic

Why School By Mike Rose Analysis
Beyond the Classroom Many are quick to disregard education s role outside of the classroom.
According to Mike Rose, a good education helps us make sense of the world and find our way in it
(Rose 33). Rose emphasizes the value in the experience of education beyond the value of education
for the purpose of custom or intelligence; he explores the purpose of going to school in terms of how
he defines himself and his personal growth in the stages of his academic career. By reflecting on his
personal experiences and how those gave him the tools applicable to his daily life, he emphasizes why
education should never be overlooked. Rose s use of referencing relatable experiences in a logical
manner makes his argument persuasive to the readers and he succeeds in making the readers
reconsider why education matters to them. Mike Rose s Why School?: Reclaiming Education for All
of Us effectively persuades his audience of the importance of education beyond the classroom, which
proves true in our everyday lives because the essential aspect of education is what we do with it and
how it helps develop one s personal growth. Rose elaborates on the significance of education by
reflecting on his own perspective on how that shaped his identity. His childhood gave him the
opportunity to experience the contrast between a positive learning environment and a negative one.
This also shaped him to have an evident positive outlook on education. It can be assumed that the right

Based upon the information gathered from Robert Millet about the Mormon perspectives on their

Mormons views of God is similar in nature to the Christianity God. Joseph Smith, who is the founder
of the Mormons, do realize God is an omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent God. He also knows

the elect. The Mormons understand that there are false gods the reason true Fatherhood was specified.
God warns his people about false gods giving false information to deter the people of God. God loves
family, and Satan knows and tries hard to divide the family. Because Satan knows a house can not

Dr. Pangloss In Voltaire s Candide
It can be argued that all the characters in Voltaire s Candide exist for a uniquely singular purpose, and
to this fact Pangloss is no exception. While Pangloss is only to be found in a few of Candide s
adventures, he does influence Candide, and therefore acts as the underlying force affecting Voltaire s
entire novel. Dr. Pangloss represents unprogressive, stagnant thought, as he is completely inflexible in
his beliefs; not often calling into questioning the effects of his oversimplified view of the world.
Throughout this tale the dire and sometimes catastrophic consequences of Pangloss s ignorant and
unremitting optimism are so easily spotted that it can be seen as an obvious warning from Voltaire
himself to reject blind passivity and cyclical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the following chapter during a raging storm at sea Jacque finds himself fallen overboard after
helping a sailor from drowning. As he bobs up and down in the sea Candide makes and effort to go in
after him. An attempt that is quickly stopped by Pangloss. Instead of allowing Candide to save his
benefactor from certain death Pangloss begins with a priori explanations about how the very water
Jacque had drowned in was created for that sole and perfect purpose. This kind of thought leaves room
to wonder if there is ever a situation in which intervention is acceptable to Pangloss unless it is on his
own terms. One analysis of Jacque s death (Scherr, 2006) proposes that it is by no means that fault of
Pangloss, but rather that of Candide since he did not show will power or courage to question Pangloss
s rudimentary explanations in order to save his once savior. This of course does not take into account
that Pangloss knows the profound influence his teachings have over Candide. Instead, Pangloss
promotes passivity through accepting that everything is for the best engaging in philosophical banter
while a man who showed great generosity toward him drowns without aid even when it may have
been offered. The tragedy of Pangloss s self absorbed philosophy further ensues following the sad loss
of the Anabaptist. Again, to demonstrate the ignorant thought process of Pangloss that puts others and

Analysis Of The Movie The Return Of Martin Guerre
The role of Bertrande de Rols in the film The Return of Martin Guerre is a firm representation of the
way in which women of this time subscribed to clear gender norms. She was a dutiful wife who stayed
behind while her husband went off to war and to travel the world. She was willing to submit to him (or
Arnaud, the man who ended up being an imposter of Martin) and settle down to have children upon
his return. And when it came time to stand up him, she played her role in that process too (even
though it wasn t her husband for whom she was initially testifying). She doesn t have the leeway in
which to create her own path in life, and seems to constantly bend to the whim of others. Bertrande is
the quintessential example of how women throughout history kept the home fires burning while their
men explored the world, and then were forced to take back whatever iterations of their mates they got
back (which in this case, wasn t even the same man).
To say that Bertrande was likely initially underwhelmed with Martin s return would be putting it
mildly. Historians that have studied this period in French history for women surmise that Bertrande
likely enjoyed the freedom of making her own decisions (Lewis 65). In fact, in her book The Wife of
Martin Guerre, author Janet Lewis envisages an existence for Bertrande that speaks to just how much
she likely enjoyed the freedom of being her own person when Martin first went away. At the same
time, she was clearly vilified for it. Of this,

How Did World War 1 Contribute To The Balance Of Power Theory
World War I saw the nations involved rallied into two major alliances in order to curb German s
increasing power. It is evident that German amassing too much power poses a threat to the security of
its counterparts in an anarchic system. As a result, other countries were willing to use various means
not only to mitigate the risks but also maintain their independence in the world s political structure.
The balance of power theory focuses on how countries can achieve a balance and international order.
The causes of World War one can be attributed to the balance of power mechanisms used by the
countries involved.

Aarp Case Study Summary
Hello Cassondra, Good post. I liked the article you choose it was thought provoking. To answer the
question, you asked when you replied to my post, I think the two months the ARRP group had prior to
the research made a major difference because the group was coached and they were in the study long
than the usual care group. Nonetheless, the aspiration of gastric substances is a severe problem in
critically ill and ventilated patients receiving tube feedings. The drive of this analysis was to assess the
efficiency of a three pronged intervention to decrease the risk of aspiration in above group of patients.
The protocol used was A two group quasi experimental design was used to compare outcomes of a
usual care group (December 2002 September 2004) with those of an Aspiration Risk Reduction
Protocol (ARRP) group (January 2007 April 2008). The incidence of aspiration and pneumonia was
compared between the usual care group (n = 329) and the ARRP group (n = 145). The ARRP had three
components: maintaining head of bed elevation at 30 degrees or higher, unless contraindicated;
inserting feeding tubes into distal small bowel, when indicated; and using an algorithmic approach for

The Importance Of Imperialism In Shakespeare s The Tempest
When a person takes a ball of red play doh and smashes it together with a second ball of blue play do,
it creates purple. Can the two colors ever go back to their original state of being just red, and just
blue? When two colors are mixed, the action can never be undone, therefore, they can never return to
the natural and pure versions of themselves that they once were . Due to imperialism, when you
emerge one culture with another for even a small period of time, the original residents are permanently
permeated with the new culture, an action that can never be reversed. In a sense, once a pure and
natural civilization is infused with another lifestyle, the effects, no matter how small, will leave the
native civilization changed. Montaigne deduces that there is a natural untouched form of nature and a
new nature, that is essentially impure. Impure in the sense that society has fallen out of step with the
natural way of life, to create their own rules, and own way of living. Shakespeare agrees with
Montaigne when it comes to imperialism and ruining the pure state of innocence, and his agreement is
shown through his play, The Tempest.
The Renaissance philosopher, Montaigne, insists through his essay, Of Cannibals , that society today
has corrupted mother nature, and taken away her purity by turning away from the natural order to
make their own set of rules, and execute their own way of living. Civilizations were once born through
nature, thus they lived by nature. In the

So you don t have time to attend a Time Management seminar, then here are four ideas to help you
create a more productive day. First, the key to such a day is to create more discretionary time and use
it more wisely. Second, remember you are not paid for work, you are paid for results. Third, you need
to control your day instead of it controlling you. The number one idea is to begin by analyzing your
typical day. To do this you need to do a simple Time Log. This is done by taking an 8.5 x 11 sheet of
paper and numbering each line in fifteen minute increments starting with the time you arrive at work.
(Note; do not start when you are supposed to be there but when you actually arrive.) Then, throughout
the day, record your activities. You need to do this for two weeks. Then, look for time wasters and
ways to create more discretionary time.
There are two kinds of time; discretionary meaning you have a choice of how to spend it, and non
discretionary that which is taken up by job functions, meetings, and appointment. Your time

Interview With Other Culture
I have a close family friend who moved here from the Philippines when she was twenty six. We have
lived next door to her and her family for over ten years and I never once took the time to learn about
her life before she moved to America. With this being said, before this interview, I had no knowledge
of the Philippine culture. Before this encounter I had no knowledge of the proclamation of Martial
Law placed over the Philippines. Estrellita, the woman I interviewed and spent time with, explained
how she was in her last year of nursing school when the President enacted this law. She claimed that
those were very hard times for the country, but she had to remain strong and complete school. Once
completing school she would be free to seek out an adventure in another country. Some customs never
change, and that is the case for one of the strongest held customs of the Philippine culture. When ...

This experience has given me the opportunity to learn from another culture. The interview with my
friend from the Philippines has influenced me to learn more about the cultures that differ from my
own. I am eager to learn about other cultures and gain knowledge of their values and beliefs. From
this cross cultural experience, I have gained a sense of ease when it comes to interacting with different
cultures. I have learned to be patient and listen well when speaking to a person who has a thick accent.
Allow me to finish with a quotation from Nelson Mandela: No one is born hating another person
because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if
they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart
than it s opposite (Ozdowski, 2013). Diversity is such a wonderful thing, and this cross cultural
experience has shown me that we have so much to learn from cultures other than our

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lpc Decoders
An attractive alternative to LDPC1 codes are polar codes, discovered by Arikan2, which feature a
highly structured encoder and decoder that asymptotically achieve capacity on discrete memory less
channels. Additionally, they possess the desirable properties of universal rate adaptability, explicit
construction and reconfigurability. As a result, they naturally demand further exploration for the long
block length throughput limited magnetic1recording channel. A typical detector architecture in
magnetic recording channel relies on the turbo equalization3 principle that iteratively exchanges soft
information between a channel detector and an error control decoder.
To make polar codes feasible for such an iterative receiver, we need a decoder ... Show more content

By using SCAN decoder algorithm7 the transition from the hard output SC decoder to the soft output
SCAN decoder is performed. The SCAN decoder in this form requires as many memory elements as
the BP decoder does. To reduce this huge storage requirement we are using another algorithm that is
memory efficient8 SCAN decoder. From Fig 2: In this example9, memory elements required to store

not need {Bλ(φ) : φ is even} for the next iteration, and we can overwrite particular Bλ(0) (shown with
green rectangles) at any depth λ with { Bλ(φ): φ is even, φ≠0} (shown with yellow rectangles). On the
other hand, the SCAN decoder requires {Bλ(φ) : φ is odd} (shown with white rectangles) for
processing in the next iteration. The SCAN decoder reuses B2(0) and B3(0) (shown with green
rectangles) by overwriting them with the values of B2(2),B3(2), B3(4),B3(6) and does not need extra
memory for them. From this we save five memory

Developing And Implement Strategic Plans
Develop and implement strategic plans INTRODUCTION
The business I m going to talk about it s a car showroom we sell used cars. The name of the
organisation is Rosamond Street Car Experts. We are running this business for last 2 years. In the
present time most of the rich persons and the famous personalities are really fond of buying new and
sports cars they buy new cars after sometime their taste get changed then they buy new one and those
used cars they never use after that. So we buy those used cars and sell on genuine price to the
customers including 3 years warranty. We always try to make our customers happy. The best thing is
that the location of this showroom is near the Highpoint shopping centre. It is very crowded and
famous place. On the weekend most of the people they come and have a look on these cars. If they
indeed like then they definitely buy. Instead of warranty we provide first two services free of cost. For
running a successful business we have to make a strong strategic plan, with the help of these plans we
can create good image in front of the customers. For making the new strategic plan we take the help of
experts and professionals because they have been working in this industry for a long time they know
very well what sort of strategic plan we really need in our business.

regulate ones emotions (p.104). Examples of Emotional Intelligence (EI) (1) understanding your
emotions (2) thinking rationally about your actions before taking action and (3) putting yourself in
others shoes. If you are self aware, you always know how you feel, your emotions, and your actions
can affect individuals around you. EI varies and the best way to explain it is by giving examples.

Medical Aspects of Running and Running related Injuries
Runners are the healthiest sick people in the world , according to ultrarunner Jeff Robbins. In an email
that I received from him he added, One of the problems with the ultras is that you are always stressing
things to the limits. Therefore problems tend to crop up. Half the fun in this sport is learning to deal
with adversity no matter how it comes. Injury is a runner s most dreaded and aggravating obstacle.
Sometimes no matter how much the mind wills it, the body cannot go on without causing itself
permanent damage. Pushing beyond these limitations will eventually cause the body to rebel and self
destruct. There are preventative measures that can be taken to stop these ... Show more content on

Jason Hodde, Jeff Robbins, Norm Yarger, and Karl King each personally emailed me with insightful
information on running related injuries. The listserve is such a great interactive source of information.
Who better to learn from but the runners themselves? They are the ones who have to cope with the
injuries. Any amount of personal experience through trial and error is better advice than book
knowledge. This is the reason why so many runners advise that running related injuries should be
taken to a doctor who has running experience because he will be more inclined to look to rectify the
cause of the injury instead of resorting to surgery.
The best way to prevent injuries from occurring is to take the appropriate precautionary actions. The
first major rule is: don t strain. The majority of running injuries occur from overtraining. It is
important for a runner to incorporate hard days and easy days into his/her exercise routine. You need
to give your body time to rest so that it can repair itself. Fatigue accumulates and if you don t ease up
occasionally, you won t improve. Being overtired will eventually lead to injury because your body
needs a chance to recover and strengthen itself. Also, avoid doing too much too soon. Dr. Stephen
Pribut suggests that Mileage should usually only be increased approximately ten percent per week.
Every third week, you should drop back a small amount. For most runners one or two days a week, at
least, should be devoted to rest or

Pop Culture In Jane Austen s Clueless
The culture of popular girls, a fascinating concept to those willing to escape into an all too real world.
This, which has been somewhat of a cult classic starting as far back as the 1800s, with Jane Austen s
Emma. Emma Churchill was a twenty one year old with the most trivial problems, which, to her,
seemed the world. Those of not getting a boy, or getting someone else s boy were the most troubling
to Ms. Churchill, as she is known to her help. Typical of any story such as this, she had an accomplice
in her daily shenanigans, Harriet Smith. Her slightly naive best friend was there to help her through all
of her earth shatteringly important problems. Emma never did have a mother figure, so conclusively
that is why she never learned that there are bigger things in life than boys and primping. Despite this,
she was never interested in the idea of marrying for herself, but setting her friends up with their
perfect match. However, she does end up finding love in the end, even if it is with a family member,
extended family of course. This twisted story of love and the troubles of a rich girl is more commonly
known in pop culture by the name of Clueless . Clueless tells the story of a girl named Cher,
navigating high school with her best friend Ty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reflection Of Political Science
Political science is a broad topic that covers the history, political and geographical aspect of the world.
The course started with a revision on the basics of the constitution, types of power and the political
scene that happens around us. My first year at the University, one of the compulsory subject that is
required for arts taking students is Political Science 1101. After several years of taking social or
political course, taking this course opened my knowledge towards politics and the political scene in
Canada. It also taught me about how different ways of information taking could lead to one learning
differently from others. For example this class gave us the opportunity to use our laptops as a source
of note taking, this helped me learn in which whenever a new vocabulary comes up during the class
discussions i could search it up. Through The Road to Patriation and Kim Campbell Through the
Looking Glass i would further emphasize my ideas on what i have learnt throughout the course
semester.
The concepts provided in the documentary The Road To Patriation was about the disagreement
between the federal and provincial government of Canada on what to do with their constitution and
how they would agree on a formula to bring back the Canadian Constitution from England. After the
failure of five prime ministers and several conferences Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau took up the
challenge of bringing back the constitution in early 1970 alongside with his Justice Minister

In The Beautiful Faces Of My Black People Analysis
In Replacing Race , Historicizing Culture in Multiculturalism, Alana Lentin studies the history of how
the term race has come to be replaced by the term culture in the aftermath of the Holocaust, as a
means to eliminate racism. She critiques UNESCO s approach to anti racism, mainly its Statement on
Race and Racial Prejudice. She locates three problems with the solutions proposed by UNESCO.
Firstly, she argues that UNESCO disproving scientific validity of race in fact ignores the history of
colonialism as well as the effects of racism on the state and politics. As a result, this characterizes
institutionalized racism as the paranoia of minorities or the extreme left (388). Secondly, she
maintains that replacing race with culture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

thus led to the reconfiguration of race as culture and cultural identity to the extent that minorities
reproduce their own classification according to culturalism terms. She criticizes multiculturalism for

2.2 Microphone Unit
The microphone was implemented to allow the user to transmit speaker s voice as analog voice signal
from the audio socket. The analog voice signal captured by the microphone is then needed to pass
through an amplifier circuit. The amplitude of this voice signal can be amplified from millivolts to
volts so that the signal becomes easier to for us work with in following implementations. As figure 2
shown, this amplifier circuit is built by firstly connecting the microphone input through the positive
input terminal of the LM358 chip. Secondly, a feedback loop is built through the output and negative
terminal. Then the analog voice signal captured by the microphone is, therefore, amplified.
Figure 2: Schematic Of Microphone Unit
The resistance values of R4 and R3 is purposely chosen for an amplifier gain of 5.7. As shown in
Figure 3, a significant amplifying effect of the microphone voice signal can been seem afer passing
through the amplifier.
Figure 3: Waveform Of Voice Signal Before (Blue) And After (Yellow) Amplifier
Based on oscilloscope detection, the peak to peak value of microphone voice signal before amplifier is
220mV, while the one after the amplifier is 1.28V. The actual amplifier gain is therefore 5.8
(1.28/0.22), which is very close to the designed value of 5.7.

Thad Jones Summary
HISTORICAL AND REHEARSAL NOTES
This is one of Thad Jones most iconic arrangements. Don t Git Sassy recalls the energetic, hand
clapping tradition of a church camp meeting, and the energy level stays strong throughout. This new
edition of Thad s work is taken directly from the original ink parts Thad handed out to the band in
1967, and from Thad s original pencil score now housed in the Thad Jones Archive at William
Paterson University, where Thad served as Founding Director of Jazz Studies.
The key to this arrangement is its rhythmic style a hard driving shuffle. In a shuffle, a constant snare
pattern is in tandem with the ride cymbal, all with a very tight skip beat played close to each
upcoming downbeat. The sax and brass figures are tight, always playing their upbeats to lock in with
the ride cymbal/snare skip beat. A great description of this time concept comes from the legendary
Basie alumnus Frank Wess, who once said, That accent is not on the upbeat of four, it s just before
one!
As with many Thad Jones arrangements, a number of key stylistic elements are not printed on the
original chart. The rehearsal comments below are taken from recorded performances of the original
recording by the Thad Jones Mel Lewis Orchestra, and from more recent Vanguard Jazz Orchestra
recordings. This arrangement can be performed at the deepest level when band members are hearing
these great recordings in their minds as they play.
The opening piano solo at Letter A is shown as

Synthesis And Testing Of Aa2014 Al2o3
Synthesis And Testing of AA2014 Al2O3(alpha) Nano Composite
Abstract Al2O3 reinforced Aluminium Matrix Composites give advanced mechanical physical
properties. They have voluminous applications in automobile, aerospace, defense, sports, electronics,
bio medical and other industrial fields. Various manufacturing techniques like stir casting, ultra sonic
assisted casting, compo casting, powder metallurgy, liquid infiltration are used for the production of
the aluminium matrix composites. These composites reveal advanced physical and mechanical
properties like lower density, low coefficient of thermal expansion, good corrosion resistance, high
tensile strength, high stiffness, high hardness and wear resistance. Our paper reviews the
characterization of mechanical properties like tensile strength, hardness with production route of
casting for aluminium matrix Al2O3 composites. Al2O3 agglomeration along with the increasing
volume percentage is still a challenging task in composites materials manufacturing. 0.5% by weight
of pure magnesium powder is used as wetting agent. Process parameters are optimized for the stir
casting process of aluminium composite. Tensile and hardness test microstructure study was
performed to find the deviation from the aluminium alloy.
Keywords: Agglomeration, stir casting, aluminium composite.

Analysis Of Paul s Case
From the subtle quirks and eccentricities in one s tone of speech, to the sensations of rancor and
bitterness that are palpable in a violent outbreak, all human activity is programmed by a complex
phenomenon known as the human personality. The case of what constitutes this enigma is one of the
many controversies that are analyzed and broken apart in Vincent Parrillo s chapter, Causes of
Prejudice. In particular, human temperament is expounded in Parrillo s passage, and further observed
and experimented with in Willa Cather s short story Paul s Case. Parrillo correlates one s childhood
upbringing and surroundings to the maturation of an authoritarian personality, akin to Paul s rough
development that contributes to his fervent prejudice of the middle class and ultimately, himself. In
essence, personality can be construed as something very flexible and compliant at an early stage of
one s life. Parrillo substantiates the relations between a parent and his child, as the domestic
atmosphere contributes largely to the development of authoritarian personality. Parrillo explicates, If
parents assume an excessively domineering posture in their relations with a child...when such children
become adults, they may demonstrate displaced aggression, directing their hostility against a
powerless group to compensate for their feelings of insecurity and fear (Parillo 581). The growth of
authoritarianism is dictated by various social variables, such as the aforementioned. Witnessing

Liam Carlos Williams Accomplishments
Williams Carlos Williams once said, If they give you lined paper, write the other way. The meaning of
his quote to many, is not to follow in everyone else s footsteps, but make a different path and make
different footsteps. THis is why many see Williams as remarkable still to this day. In Williams s life,
he faced many tragedies not only in his career but in his poetry as well. Williams overcome these
difficulties and they made him even more remarkable and influential to this day for his life, career, and
his poems. William Carlos Williams started off being influential by just being born. Williams was born
in Rutherford, New Jersey, on September 17, 1883 (Bryant 1). As a child Williams was a very calm
and patient kid growing up. Williams s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker the many of Spring and All is a man from an older generation. This can be verified in
lines 5 6 and 12 13, where it states, muddy fields/ brown with dried weeds/ dead, brown leaves/
leafless vines . Many see this poem s speaker as an older man because he uses a small vocabulary
when describing the dead, brown leaves in line 12. In line 1 2 it implies By the road to the contagious
hospital/ under the surge of the blue . So in line two when it states under the surge of the blue in many
people s eyes it looks like the poem is meant for an older generation because of the vast vocabulary
the speaker uses. In the same poem Spring and All the attitude toward the subject of the poem that the
speaker conveys is rough as they explain how the outside looks cold and uncertain before spring
enters the new world. Evidence of this is in lines 16 19 where it says They enter the new world naked,/
cold, uncertain of all/ save that they enter. All about them/ the cold familiar wind . Many people would
also say that the author wrote this poem to explain what spring looks like when approaching and how
it looks like a disaster before spring blooms into the new world. In lines 24 27 it shows how the birth
of spring looks like a disaster by stating But now the stark dignity of/ entrance still, the profound/ has
come upon them: rooted, they/ grip

Argumentative Essay On The Salem Witch Trials
The Salem Witch Trials The largest outbreak of witchcraft in America took place in Salem,
Massachusetts in 1692. A group of girls, including the Parris s Indian slave Tituba, gathered in the
Salem village and were attempting to see the future by decoding messages . Shortly after this
gathering the girls started showing signs of the possessed (pg. 73). To this day people all over America
are still amazed with the events that took place in this time. But why is that? The fear of the village
fell heavily onto the judicial system, which later made people focus on the proper separation of
government and religious beliefs. Mass hysteria broke out amongst the village and many people were
being accused, therefore leading to many innocent deaths. Although there could be many theories as to
the reason the witch trials in Salem began, there are two points of view that are very commonly shared
amongst people. Some believe that the Salem witch trials were women unconsciously searching for
power, whereas others believe it was an encephalitis epidemic. In fact, Lyle Koehler believes that the
women of Salem were unconsciously seeking power in the patriarch world that they lived in. There
indeed was a pattern to those being convicted of witch craft in Salem. Three fourths of the people
accused were female, of the 56 men accused, half were related to the accused women (pg. 74). To
Kholer this just seems too specific to be an encephalitis epidemic. The women of Salem used the
accusations

But she was a chameleon, one that can camouflage. It doesn t make it anymore unbelievable now. So, one day after the chameleon feasted on the leftovers left by the foul mouthed sailors, She slowly made her way up to the top container. When she reached the top, she felt bliss, being able to see the sunset from the best seat on the ship. Then the ship suddenly jerked. Little chameleon always thought the captain to be high. But a chameleon was a land animal, she didn t know about the rough waves and the currents of the sea. Anyhow, little chameleon didn t mind it, she continued drinking in the view. She coloured herself the many hues of the sunset because she felt happy. She wanted to be a part of it. That night, the sea was especially rough, and the captain did everything to save the whole ship from the spa treatment . The captain was successful. But Little Chameleon was not as lucky, she got washed off into the sea. She tried and tried to waddle, swim or simply, survive. She thought she was not going to get through this cold, dark sea. He took it upon himself to raise questions in the world of philosophy. He questioned well known beliefs and beliefs held by many, not just philosophers. In his meditations, he explains his process of emptying his mind and starting completely over. In this paper, I am going to evaluate and question his thoughts on philosophy, use his writing to raise questions about my own beliefs, and compare his thoughts to my own. He uses the example of the chiligon by saying that he can think of this many sided shape, but he cannot form a picture (or image) of it in his mind. Descartes argues that one uses effort when they are imagining, but not while thinking. He also says that imagination is not a necessity for being; that he could go on without it. One does not need imagination to exist, Descartes believes. Descartes thinks that thought is the mind turning on, or arguing against, its own ideas, and that when imagining things, the mind turns its attention to one s body. From these statements and conclusions, Descartes makes his final conclusion by saying people cannot imagine things without the existence of their body. He tells readers that this might be only a chance. At this point he cannot say for sure if the body exists. He then goes on to interpret and think through the uses of senses and decides if they deceive him. He wonders if they deceive him of the existence of material objects existing. He says that this cannot be so though, because they come from God, and again, God is not a deceiver. I object to the first argument that we discussed. Descartes cogito beliefs. Since 9/11, this threat has been constantly growing and the government has taken steps to respond to this threat. The first of these steps was to increase resources dedicated to identify and prosecute known and suspect terrorists and would be terrorists to try and gain more information about possible attacks, and serve justice to those guilty of terrorism. The next step was to restructure existing anti terror organizations (such as the FBI) and to develop new tools, mostly in the form of legislation, to help combat this growing threat. However, while implementing these measures, the government also made efforts to protect the rights and privacy of Americans (https://www.justice.gov/archive/opa/pr/2008/September/08 nsd 807.html : Justice Department, 2008). However, recent terrorist strikes such as the San Bernardino attack have been carried out following the widespread availability of encrypted devices for consumers which makes it harder for the government to collect information regarding these attacks from first hand evidence without support from the companies involved in creating these products. • 11. Employee Performance And Achievement Of Organisational Goals 1 Introduction: 1.1 Background: Employee behaviours could often have an impact on organisational performance and achievement of organisational goals. In any organisation, its members could display varied behaviour where minimalists would contribute just enough to maintain affiliation while others may exhibit overt and discretionary behaviour which is beyond their stipulated job description and likely to benefit the organisation (Turnipseed and Rassuli: 2005). This latter behaviour where the employee goes the extra mile proactively engaging in such activities has been described by various nomenclatures such as Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) by Organ (1988) as cited in Organ (1997), pro social organisational behaviour (Brief and Motowidlo: 1986), contextual performance (Borman and Motowidlo: 1993) and extra role behaviour (Van Dyne et al: 1995). OCB has been one of the important and popular research subjects in the recent years. It emphasizes on the most preferred employee level outcomes at workplace (Bateman and Organ 1983, Smith et al 1983, Anderson and Williams: 1996). Although the concept of OCB was proposed by Bateman and Organ in the early 1980s, the origins of this concept could be traced back to early 1960s when Katz recognized three distinct behavioural entities for the proficient functioning of an organisation. According to Mike Rose, a good education helps us make sense of the world and find our way in it (Rose 33). Rose emphasizes the value in the experience of education beyond the value of education for the purpose of custom or intelligence; he explores the purpose of going to school in terms of how he defines himself and his personal growth in the stages of his academic career. By reflecting on his personal experiences and how those gave him the tools applicable to his daily life, he emphasizes why education should never be overlooked. Rose s use of referencing relatable experiences in a logical manner makes his argument persuasive to the readers and he succeeds in making the readers reconsider why education matters to them. Mike Rose s Why School?: Reclaiming Education for All of Us effectively persuades his audience of the importance of education beyond the classroom, which proves true in our everyday lives because the essential aspect of education is what we do with it and how it helps develop one s personal growth. Rose elaborates on the significance of education by reflecting on his own perspective on how that shaped his identity. While Pangloss is only to be found in a few of Candide s adventures, he does influence Candide, and therefore acts as the underlying force affecting Voltaire s entire novel. Dr. Pangloss represents unprogressive, stagnant thought, as he is completely inflexible in his beliefs; not often calling into questioning the effects of his oversimplified view of the world. • 18. Analysis Of The Movie The Return Of Martin Guerre The role of Bertrande de Rols in the film The Return of Martin Guerre is a firm representation of the way in which women of this time subscribed to clear gender norms. She was a dutiful wife who stayed behind while her husband went off to war and to travel the world. She was willing to submit to him (or Arnaud, the man who ended up being an imposter of Martin) and settle down to have children upon his return. And when it came time to stand up him, she played her role in that process too (even though it wasn t her husband for whom she was initially testifying). She doesn t have the leeway in which to create her own path in life, and seems to constantly bend to the whim of others. Bertrande is the quintessential example of how women throughout history kept the home fires burning while their men explored the world, and then were forced to take back whatever iterations of their mates they got back (which in this case, wasn t even the same man). To say that Bertrande was likely initially underwhelmed with Martin s return would be putting it mildly. Historians that have studied this period in French history for women surmise that Bertrande likely enjoyed the freedom of making her own decisions (Lewis 65). In fact, in her book The Wife of Martin Guerre, author Janet Lewis envisages an existence for Bertrande that speaks to just how much she likely enjoyed the freedom of being her own person when Martin first went away. Can the two colors ever go back to their original state of being just red, and just blue? When two colors are mixed, the action can never be undone, therefore, they can never return to the natural and pure versions of themselves that they once were . Due to imperialism, when you emerge one culture with another for even a small period of time, the original residents are permanently permeated with the new culture, an action that can never be reversed. In a sense, once a pure and natural civilization is infused with another lifestyle, the effects, no matter how small, will leave the native civilization changed. Montaigne deduces that there is a natural untouched form of nature and a new nature, that is essentially impure. Impure in the sense that society has fallen out of step with the natural way of life, to create their own rules, and own way of living. First, the key to such a day is to create more discretionary time and use it more wisely. Second, remember you are not paid for work, you are paid for results. Third, you need to control your day instead of it controlling you. The number one idea is to begin by analyzing your typical day. To do this you need to do a simple Time Log. This is done by taking an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and numbering each line in fifteen minute increments starting with the time you arrive at work. (Note; do not start when you are supposed to be there but when you actually arrive.) Then, throughout the day, record your activities. You need to do this for two weeks. Then, look for time wasters and ways to create more discretionary time. There are two kinds of time; discretionary meaning you have a choice of how to spend it, and non discretionary that which is taken up by job functions, meetings, and appointment. Your time ... • 23. Interview With Other Culture I have a close family friend who moved here from the Philippines when she was twenty six. We have lived next door to her and her family for over ten years and I never once took the time to learn about her life before she moved to America. With this being said, before this interview, I had no knowledge of the Philippine culture. Before this encounter I had no knowledge of the proclamation of Martial Law placed over the Philippines. Estrellita, the woman I interviewed and spent time with, explained how she was in her last year of nursing school when the President enacted this law. She claimed that those were very hard times for the country, but she had to remain strong and complete school. Once completing school she would be free to seek out an adventure in another country. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lpc Decoders An attractive alternative to LDPC1 codes are polar codes, discovered by Arikan2, which feature a highly structured encoder and decoder that asymptotically achieve capacity on discrete memory less channels. Additionally, they possess the desirable properties of universal rate adaptability, explicit construction and reconfigurability. As a result, they naturally demand further exploration for the long block length throughput limited magnetic1recording channel. A typical detector architecture in magnetic recording channel relies on the turbo equalization3 principle that iteratively exchanges soft information between a channel detector and an error control decoder. To make polar codes feasible for such an iterative receiver, we need a decoder ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using SCAN decoder algorithm7 the transition from the hard output SC decoder to the soft output SCAN decoder is performed. The SCAN decoder in this form requires as many memory elements as the BP decoder does. To reduce this huge storage requirement we are using another algorithm that is memory efficient8 SCAN decoder. From Fig 2: In this example9, memory elements required to store B with corresponding φ displayed next to a particular Bλ(φ). In any iteration, the SCAN decoder does not need {Bλ(φ) : φ is even} for the next iteration, and we can overwrite particular Bλ(0) (shown with green rectangles) at any depth λ with { Bλ(φ): φ is even, φ≠0} (shown with yellow rectangles). On the other hand, the SCAN decoder requires {Bλ(φ) : φ is odd} (shown with white rectangles) for processing in the next iteration. Half the fun in this sport is learning to deal with adversity no matter how it comes. Injury is a runner s most dreaded and aggravating obstacle. Sometimes no matter how much the mind wills it, the body cannot go on without causing itself permanent damage. The listserve is such a great interactive source of information. Who better to learn from but the runners themselves? They are the ones who have to cope with the injuries. Any amount of personal experience through trial and error is better advice than book knowledge. This is the reason why so many runners advise that running related injuries should be taken to a doctor who has running experience because he will be more inclined to look to rectify the cause of the injury instead of resorting to surgery. The best way to prevent injuries from occurring is to take the appropriate precautionary actions. The first major rule is: don t strain. The majority of running injuries occur from overtraining. It is important for a runner to incorporate hard days and easy days into his/her exercise routine. You need to give your body time to rest so that it can repair itself. Fatigue accumulates and if you don t ease up occasionally, you won t improve. Being overtired will eventually lead to injury because your body needs a chance to recover and strengthen itself. Also, avoid doing too much too soon. Dr. Stephen Pribut suggests that Mileage should usually only be increased approximately ten percent per week. Every third week, you should drop back a small amount. For most runners one or two days a week, at least, should be devoted to rest or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Don t Git Sassy recalls the energetic, hand clapping tradition of a church camp meeting, and the energy level stays strong throughout. This new edition of Thad s work is taken directly from the original ink parts Thad handed out to the band in 1967, and from Thad s original pencil score now housed in the Thad Jones Archive at William Paterson University, where Thad served as Founding Director of Jazz Studies. The key to this arrangement is its rhythmic style a hard driving shuffle. In a shuffle, a constant snare pattern is in tandem with the ride cymbal, all with a very tight skip beat played close to each upcoming downbeat. The sax and brass figures are tight, always playing their upbeats to lock in with the ride cymbal/snare skip beat. A great description of this time concept comes from the legendary Basie alumnus Frank Wess, who once said, That accent is not on the upbeat of four, it s just before one! As with many Thad Jones arrangements, a number of key stylistic elements are not printed on the original chart. The rehearsal comments below are taken from recorded performances of the original recording by the Thad Jones Mel Lewis Orchestra, and from more recent Vanguard Jazz Orchestra recordings. Analysis Of Paul s Case From the subtle quirks and eccentricities in one s tone of speech, to the sensations of rancor and bitterness that are palpable in a violent outbreak, all human activity is programmed by a complex phenomenon known as the human personality. The case of what constitutes this enigma is one of the many controversies that are analyzed and broken apart in Vincent Parrillo s chapter, Causes of Prejudice. In particular, human temperament is expounded in Parrillo s passage, and further observed and experimented with in Willa Cather s short story Paul s Case. Parrillo correlates one s childhood upbringing and surroundings to the maturation of an authoritarian personality, akin to Paul s rough development that contributes to his fervent prejudice of the middle class and ultimately, himself. In essence, personality can be construed as something very flexible and compliant at an early stage of one s life. Parrillo substantiates the relations between a parent and his child, as the domestic atmosphere contributes largely to the development of authoritarian personality. Parrillo explicates, If parents assume an excessively domineering posture in their relations with a child...when such children become adults, they may demonstrate displaced aggression, directing their hostility against a powerless group to compensate for their feelings of insecurity and fear (Parillo 581). The growth of authoritarianism is dictated by various social variables, such as the aforementioned. Witnessing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many see this poem s speaker as an older man because he uses a small vocabulary when describing the dead, brown leaves in line 12. In line 1 2 it implies By the road to the contagious hospital/ under the surge of the blue . So in line two when it states under the surge of the blue in many people s eyes it looks like the poem is meant for an older generation because of the vast vocabulary the speaker uses. In the same poem Spring and All the attitude toward the subject of the poem that the speaker conveys is rough as they explain how the outside looks cold and uncertain before spring enters the new world.
