Who Is J. D. Salinger s A Perfect Day For Bananafish
All things truly wicked start from innocence by Ernest Hemingway. This quote is important because it
relates to Seymour Glass, the main character in the short story. Glass was an ordinary man before
returning from war as a completely different man, a man that was no longer innocent, but in some
ways, extremely tainted. J. D. Salinger s short story, A Perfect Day for
Bananafish , showcases different writing style techniques that help to better improve the effectiveness
of his writing. The techniques he utilizes include: inferences throughout the story, repetition, dialogue,
style, imagery, and even symbolism
The style of J. D. Salinger s A Perfect Day for Bananafish is very unique in the fact that a lot of the
time you are forced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His use of symbolism is also important to his style. One example of symbolism is when Seymour tells
Sybil is wearing a blue swimsuit when both of them were on a beach that they frequently met and
talked to each other at. The color blue, in Western literature symbolises deity and spiralituity
(Hochman). Another example of symbolism being used develop his style is when Seymour kisses
Sybil s foot, this occured right before Seymour left Sybil for the last time before returning back to his
room and committing suicide. This act from Seymour is seen and perceived as Seymours gratefulness
for Sybil s perception (Hochman).
J. D. Salinger furthers his style by using a variety of elements like repetition, symbolism, or
characterization. Salinger s way of writing forces the reader to read between the lines. They can either
be surprised by the ending or could have seen the outcome from the beginning, because of his writing
style. However, the reader must reread the story and try to understand it.
All in all, his style changes how each reader interprets the story with his aforementioned elements of
inferences of the reader and dialogue, short dialogue between characters and repetition, or imagery

Corruption And City Problems In The Twentieth Century
In the early to mid twentieth century there was a lot of corruption and city problems as these new
cities were being built. Since most cities were built so fast there was bad housing which lead to
diseases spreading very rapidly, and there was horrible working conditions. Many of these cities were
dangers for the people that lived there. Diseases started to spread very rapidly in this period of time.
Different social groups later into the twentieth century would try and stop them. Some of these groups
would succeed in their attempts to make their homes and work places better
Do to rapid growth of cities problems started to arise for both people and animals. Immigrants coming
into the cities were bringing all types of animals. They would let their animals walk around the cities.
Since both cars and animals occupied the streets things began to became over crowded. In Brooklyn
there were about 26,000 horses each producing 20 lbs. of manure and several gallons of urine each
day. When a horse or any other animal would die people sometimes left the bodies in the streets. the
streets where piled high with garbage since there was not a waste system in place. At some points
people could not get to the streets to get to their cars. Tenement life was pretty bad. Most of the
apartment buildings being built had no to little ventilation. Most of the time more than one family
would be placed in each apartment. Since there were hardly any ventilation diseases spread very
rapidly. Since

The Civil Right Movement In The 1960 s
Everyone as a child has a role model someone that they look up to for advice. This person was my
uncle. My uncle was the first person to attend a college. This was the person that embed the idea that I
will be following in the footsteps and attend college. My parents at that time did not really push me
they were focused on making sure there was food on the table. Also during my middle school year he
was the main advocate for me to attend Verbum Dei High School instead of following my cousin and
attending Serra High School. He has open my eyes to the injustice in this world.
Once I ask him why he not attended UCLA I was really confused because he decides to attend the

California Los Angeles. It was a topical November day. I was in the beginning of eight grade year. I

the State Capitol in Montgomery Alabama. Well reading this post he said I am willing to go to jail for
what I believe in . I remember reflecting on this. His action really motivated me and still motivated me
to this day. It made me think of the Civil Right Movement of the 1960 s and how if you speak your
mind it can make a difference. He sat there in the middle of the Capitol since it open till he was
forcibly removed by the Capitol Police and arrested. He was willing to face deportation for a cause. I

Three Characteristics Of The Earth, Moon, And Sun
The Earth, Moon, and Sun are three of the most unique and incredible celestial bodies in the entire
universe. Each serves a distinct purpose and has remarkable characteristics that allow them to work
and coincide with one another in such a complex way. All three bodies interact and work together to
create an organized and continuous system that scientists continue to research and study. There are
various processes and techniques the Earth, Moon, and Sun possess that help to identify and
characterise each one as well as the interactions between them. The interactions between the Earth,
Moon, and Sun manage the ocean s currents and tides, climate, weather, and seasons.
The Sun, a star, is hot ball of glowing gases at the center of our solar system (nasa.gov/sun). It s heat
and energy sustain the life we have on Earth. Without it, we would not be able to survive. The Sun
warms the entire planet, reaching the Earth s surface, oceans, and atmosphere. The heat and energy
from the Sun is what essentially drives the weather and climates (windows2universe.org). The
orientation of the Earth to the Sun is what creates the Earth s seasons. Depending on what hemisphere
you reside in, the season and weather patterns vary. If the hemisphere you live in is pointed towards
the Sun, it is summer. If it is directed away from the Sun, it is winter. This is due to the tilt of Earth s
axis.
However, the Sun not only impacts Earth, but the other planets and the rest of our solar system as

The Craft By Nokia
The Craft
Princess Nokia stated in Brujas I m a black Native American I vanquish all evil. She did this to carve
out a space for her native identity. Contending that in every way the process of Western Civilization
commits genocide toward all living things militant Indian rhetors blatantly reject assimilation into
white society, advocating instead a return to traditional tribal values (Lake 732 1983). She did this by
embracing her native religion of witchcraft. Furthermore, she emphasized that a return to traditional
witchcraft would better society. She did this by recreating The Craft in her music video.
The most obvious recreation was that of the forest scene of The Craft. She altered the perspective of
the coven though the way that the knife was portrayed. In The Craft the knife was represented as a
killing instrument. The women were asked if they had any fear to rush upon the blade rather than join
the coven. In their perspective only strong witches would be allowed into the coven. Princess Nokia s
altered that the meaning of the knife to be seen as honor. The blade moves from shoulder to shoulder
as if dubbing them into a new title. She did this in order to change emotion and persuaded the viewer
to look at this ritual in a different way. It shifted the perception of being in a coven as something
dangerous to something that builds power and community. She also stated I aint no queen of the night

What Is Examined Life Essay
n the immortal words of Socrates, The unexamined life is not worth living. Socrates certainly felt
strongly about his beliefs as he was willing to die for them and eventually did. But was it really worth
losing his life over? If so, will examining life make you happier? Life is worth examining, although
doing so will not always make people happy. The question then is why is it worth examining? It is
simple; the purpose of human beings is to grow to be better, something that cannot be achieved if we
do not examine life.
Even though we do not know what our purpose in life is, as a whole it can be agreed that humans seek
to improve themselves. Thinking back to human ancestral species the Homo erectus it is understood
that they did not simply accept the world for what was in front of them.
Rather, when opportunity for discovery was presented to them they set forth to it. For example, when
early hominin species discovered fire they did not simply walk away and accept the fact that it was a
part of nature and should therefore be left to be. Instead they questioned this aspect of nature and
through further examination were able to tame fire, an element that has long been credited for the rise
of human species.
Certainly it was well worth it for human ancestors to have examined life. Although in that situation it
brought happiness, this will not always be the case, allow me to elaborate. The
American government spends billions of dollars protecting its citizens from terrorist by

The Civil War and American Art Exhibit at the New York...
On Saturday, June 15 I attended the Civil War and American Art exhibit at the New York Metropolitan
Museum of Art. There were a number of different people who were present on this occasion. I believe
there were so many people there because this is one of the better known art galleries throughout New
York. Additionally, the fact that today was part of the weekend probably contributed to the massive
crowds of people present. Not everyone was there to attend the Civil War and American Art exhibit,
however; there were several other exhibits taking place in different locations throughout the museum
that day. The exhibit contained upwards of 20 photographs and at least 60 paintings. One of the most
agreeable things about the works of art that I witnessed is that collectively, they assisted in recounting
the sentiment that gripped the country during the war that threatened to sunder it. One could almost
feel the initial enthusiasm as the war broke out, that was swiftly prolonged by numerous clashes over a
period of years. There were works that alluded to an impending war, ones that depicted that war, and
numerous ones that hinted at a hoped for ending in which the mightiness of the country would
someday be restored. One of the pieces that I found to be the most moving was Frederic Edwin
Church s Our Banner in the Sky , which was painted during the war s outset in 1861. This is one of the
pieces in which the enthusiasm for the war was quite clearly seen. In this work, the

What Are The Similarities Between King James Version And...
Be very sure of this people never reject the Bible because they cannot understand it. They understand
it too well; they understand that it condemns their own behavior; they understand that it witnesses
against their own sins, and summons them to judgment. They try to believe it is false and useless,
because they don t like to believe it is true. J.C. Ryle. Before I begin I would like to say that I use both
the King James Version and English Standard Version. I have nothing against the KJV and I believe it
is an inspired word of God. The problem is I don t believe it is the only inspired word of God.

So if I ve done my math correctly Paul most definitely didn t use the KJV to deliver his very inspired
messages sent from God. Most people using the KJV now are using a modern version of the KJV, not
the 1611 original King James. If it was the only inspired version why wouldn t you continue to use it
and not modernize it? If the King James Version was the only true version would someone who was
saved from a message delivered from an uninspired version have a faulty faith and salvation? Now I
don t know what translation the evangelist was speaking from when I got saved but I would hate to
believe that if it was not the KJV that I haven t truly been saved all this time. You would assume that
the translation from the oldest manuscripts would be the most accurate but versions such as the ESV
actually use older manuscript families than that of the KJV. I fear for the intentions of the KJV only
advocates, for I feel that many but not all, focus more on the Bible translation and the persuading of
others to use it than they do on the main character and persuasion of others to follow

Chemical Compounds That Transmit Neural Signals From One...
3.3.1 Neurotransmitter indicators
Neurotransmitters are endogenous chemical compounds that transmit neural signals from one neuron
to another. Many neurotransmitters are amino acids, such as glutamate, glycine and GABA, or
biogenic amines, such as dopamine and serotonin, or even peptides and proteins, such as somatostatin
and substance P {Snyder 1979}. Binding of neurotransmitters may either inhibit or excite the
postsynaptic neurons. Among the numerous neurotransmitters, glutamate is the major excitatory
amino acid neurotransmitter in mammalian neural systems {Cotman 1986}. The first genetically
encoded neurotransmitter for glutamate was reported in 2005 {Okumoto, 2005 #292}. Upon binding
to glutamate, the indicator converts the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
IGluSnFR was engineered in vitro for maximized fluorescence response, and it could robustly detect
glutamate release events with sufficient SNR and kinetics for in vivo imaging in worms, zebrafish,
and mice {Marvin, 2013 #864}. Notably, bacteria express a variety of periplasmic binding proteins
including ones for GABA, acetylcholine, glycine and other small molecules that serve as
neurotransmitter in the brain . A design principle similar to that used for iGluSnFR may one day
produce a series of genetically encoded indicators for probing various neurotransmitters with spine
sized spatial resolution.
Instead of probing the neurotransmitters directly, one could probe the neurotransmitter binding events
by coupling it to a different optical readout using a multi component system. Nguyen et al. described a
multi component system, called cell based neurotransmitter fluorescent engineered reporters
(CNiFERs), to monitor in situ neurotransmitter receptor activation {Nguyen, 2010 #921}. CNiFERs
are engineered cultured cells that stably express an M1 acetylcholine receptor and the GECI TN XXL.
The system utilizes the GPCR cascade to convert receptor activity into a rise in cytosolic Ca2+ which
is reported by TN XXL. Nguyen et al. injected CNiFERs in the frontal cortex of the adult rat and used
CNiFERs to probe the change of cholinergic signaling induced by an atypical neuroleptic drug
{Nguyen, 2010 #921}. Substitution of the M1 receptor with other Cys loop receptors produced

Biological Weapons And Its Uses
Introduction
Dating back to the 1100 s there have been records of the use of biological weapons in warfare. This
involved the usage of human and animal corpses to pollute water sources and to spread diseases. Post
World War One increased interest in biological weapons lead to them becoming more advanced. With
this improvement it is evident that warfare has evolved. This progression in warfare can be seen when
looking at the manner in which wars were fought prior to the introduction of biological weapons in the
1100 s, and comparing it to the manner in which they were fought succeeding the advancement of
these weapons in the 1900 s. Although biological weapons have rarely been used, their effects on
warfare are apparent. When studying biological weapons one must deliberate on the factors that have
driven its use and creation as well as the responses and threats thereof. This essay will therefore focus
on depicting biological weapons and their uses throughout history; beginning with its most medieval
applications in siege warfare and comparing it to its various uses in World War One, Japan in the 1920
s , the Cold War and the Persian Gulf War. The reasons as to why biological weapons have been used
and created differ in each circumstance, ranging from its advantageousness in imperialism to its role in
instilling fear. Furthermore, to properly determine the impact of biological weapons on warfare this
essay will examine the outcomes of its use. With the main response being the

criterion referenced evaluation aims at measuring the achievement of a learner on a certain domain to

Stravinsky Rhythm
In this performance, the rhythm is apparent and a defining feature of the piece. Sometimes the piece
becomes somewhat repetitive with ostinato patterns present a lot of the time. This piece is played and
composed in such a way that it draws the listener into a story. The rhythm plays a big part in this. On
the first page of the composition, Stravinsky changes the meter eight times in nine measures which
grabs the attention of the listener. Though the rhythms in the rite of spring are highly irregular, they
are still pulsed. This caused innovations in musical notation in the score to make the piece playable.
Sometimes sounding chaotic, Stravinsky expanded the use of polyrhythm. Creating a hectic and
unpleasant sound, nothing like this was done before. The piece s enormous harmonies move very
slowly indeed. This slow harmonies contradict the pie s sense of energy creating a very dissonant and
disturbing atmosphere. In 1913 this would have completely shocked the audience and contributed to
the events that took place on the premier. Although the piece is aggressive and bold in certain areas it

The Communication Structure Of A Geographically...
The purpose of the research article (article) is to explore three specific topics regarding the
communication structure of a geographically distributed software development team: the observable
behavior of the organization in reference to Conway s law, difficulties encountered by geographically
distributed teams, and potential solutions for these difficulties. Conway s law suggests that the
resulting product of an organization will take on characteristics of the organization s communication
systems. This would suggest that a large geographically segregated team, which faces communication
barriers as a result, would produce a product reflective of the barriers.
The article states that geographically distributed teams will face difficulty in the exchange of
information. Teams must use a common language, with agreed upon attributes. These types of teams
develop software systems individually, which must then work together. This would require great
coordination through effective communication. The article makes the point that Conway s law dictates
that teams coordinate their efforts, while Frederick Brooks suggests that this is not so easy to achieve.
Advancement in communication technologies has helped to tackle some of the communication
barriers that distributed teams face. The article justifies the study by stating that existing research is
not clear on the benefits of applying Conway s law to this specific situation.
In order to address this knowledge gap, a study was

Parental Leave Research Paper
A new born baby should always be welcomed with open arms excitement, not with fear. On this paper,
I want to talk why having a paid parental leave in the united states is something that we need. This
topic is of high interest to me because they are only a few countries around the world who don t offer
paid parental leave and the united states is one of them. As a person who wants to start a family in a
future, not having paid parental leave can affect me in many ways. For instance, without paid parental
leave and with the current parental leave policy, were parents only get 12 weeks of unpaid parental
leave; will have to go back to work to make sure that we are not be set back financially. Leaving my

The New President Faces Challenges At The Department Of...
The Life of an Executive Order
The new president faces significant challenges at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Rectifying these short comings is important if the U.S. is to remain secure and prosperous.
On January 27th, 2017, president Trump signed an executive order dealing with immigration. The
order took effect immediately and sparked anger and confusion across the nation. Dozens of
international travelers were detained at airports across the country. Most of those detained were simply
caught up in a government communication limbo. The order placed a temporary moratorium on
immigration from seven countries Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.
The people who elected Donald Trump president say the furor ... Show more content on

The order had been reviewed by the Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) before it was
issued. The OLC, whose authority addresses the form and whether the order is properly drafted,
approved the order. Yates objected to the president s executive order. Yates declared that as long as she
was acting attorney general, the Department of Justice would not present arguments in defense of the
executive order until she became convinced that it was appropriate to do so. Clearly, since Yates did
not issue this statement on the grounds that the order was illegal, she based her decision on her
disagreement with the justice of the order.
Consequently, Yates was fired. This action fortified the legal battle we are debating today. Timeline of
Trumps Order and the Court Filings
Sunday, Jan. 29 Federal lawsuits were filed in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia and Washington on
behalf of travelers who were detained in airports in the United States.
Later Sunday evening, the White House said that legal permanent residents are exempt from the travel
restrictions in the new executive order, referring to green card holders.
Monday, Jan. 30 Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed a lawsuit in the United States
District Court in Seattle citing examples of residents impacted by the ban. The lawsuit included a
separate emergency motion for a nationwide, temporary restraining order that would bar the

How Obama Broke The Law
Obama broke the law! Obama violated the law! These are the titles of some of the articles published
the week that Obama s administration paid $400 million to Iran. That payment to Iran coincided with
the release of some American hostages. Many republicans or people opposing to Obama s decision
claim it was a ransom. Since Iran has been in the list of states sponsoring terrorism, they also claim
that Obama s administration is somehow a sponsor of terrorist activities as well. In the other side,
President Obama explained that this money is part of the deal they finally concluded with Iran.
On the White House website, a 112 pages document called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action
(JCPOA) gives some detailed about the deal with Iran. It says that the deal:
 Cuts off all Iran s pathway to nuclear weapon, including a covert pathway
 Puts in place vigorous measures that are necessary to verify that Iran cannot pursue a weapon
 Ensures sanction can be snapped back into place if Iran violated the deal
Now that we have an idea about the current status of Iran nuclear deal, let us go back a bit to
recapitulate about how the issue has arisen and why it was very concerning.
After the death of Ayatollah Khomeini in 1989, president Ali Rafsanjani came on power. One of his
goals was to ameliorate relation with Western powers. Then, in 1997, Iran elected President President
Muhammed Khatami. He was a reformist. Thanks to him and his efforts, relations with the western

Abortion Is The Destruction Of A Fetus
In this essay, I will discuss my position on abortion, how it has changed, and how it compares to
others more established positions. Before I can begin this, however, I must first discuss the terms that
will be used and their definitions. For the purposes of this essay an abortion is the destruction of a
fetus at any point in development. A fetus constitutes a fertilized egg. At the moment the egg and
sperm converge, the product is entitled a fetus. Prior to this course, my opinion on abortion was firm,
but underdeveloped. I had a position that stated abortion to be immoral but acceptable in some cases.
By this, I meant that it was always wrong, but could be understood in some cases, and thus, somehow,
less of a wrongness. I see now the major issues with this argument and will use this essay to better
clarify my position, and I will find myself aligning very closely with the views of Don Marquis, as
portrayed by his article entitled An Argument that Abortion is Wrong. I will expound upon these views
as they are shared by mine, but will also cite portions from writings by Judith Thomson and Mary
Anne Warren. I find that my position was developed by using terms and ideas from these three
authors, but I will also discuss how their writings and views conflict with mine. My position has been
altered by new knowledge, and new incorporation of different circumstances. Prior to this class, I had
an opinion that abortion was wrong, but it was okay if the mother was raped or if

John Updike A PAnalysis
In the story A P by John Updike, the narrator Sammy is a local grocery clerk in a small town. He is a
young man thrown into conflict with his older manager, Lengel over young female customers. Sammy
was intrigued teenage girls, and he struggled for distinguishing fantasy of romance and the reality of
the responsibility his manager has placed on him as an employee. This story focuses on the conflict
between the older generation and the new age by comparing the characters. The author described
Sammy as a working class person; however, he was only 19 years old and adolescence like a teenage
girl, Queenie. So, Sammy and girls in the bikini represented the younger generation, unlike Lengel,

First, he shows himself preparing his climax moment through the intellectual and creative personality.
If a static or dynamic character is in the story, Sammy is considered a dynamic person. In A P, he says
three girls in bikini to imply a new conflict as a crisis and chance of his growing, She had talked the
other two into coming in there with here, and now she was showing them how doing it, walk slow and
hold yourself straight (1290). He has been fascinated by them, and he gives a creative name in the way
they walk and moves in stores. This creativity is a mediator that leads to new thinking and growth
when the crisis comes. Second, when the conflict reached a climax, he chose his own way with his
heroism. After Lengel gave Sammy the opportunity to withdraw the impulsive declaration, the door
heaves it open, and outside the sunshine is skating around on the asphalt (1294). This mention
emphasizes the Sammy s personal fulfillment and sincerity. He knows he regrets his decision to quit A
P, but he will not avoid his responsibilities. This quote provides a clue to a mature attitude by
describing how one obtains responsibility through individual decisions and

Edmund Spenser Research Paper
Edmund Spenser was born into a relatively poor family in East Smithfield, London, England in 1552
(there remains a degree of ambiguity to the exact date of his birth). This information is acquired from
sonnet lx. in the Amoretti where he speaks of having lived 41 years, as of 1595. Although he was
related to an affluent and noble Midlands family of Spencer, his own immediate family was not
particularly wealthy. There also remains some ambiguity to the specificities of Spenser s childhood,
though it is known that he was entered as a poor boy in the Merchant Taylor s grammar school, where
he studied primarily Latin, with specks of Hebrew, Greek, and music thrown in sporadically. Edmund
Spenser began his illustrious writing career as early as 16, as there are poems of his found in a

This expansive knowledge of the traditional forms and themes of lyrical and narrative poetry offered
sufficient foundations for the formulation of his own highly original compositions. Without the study
of the Roman epic poet Virgil s Aeneid, the 15th century Ludovico Ariosto s Orlando furioso, and,
later, Torquato Tasso s Gerusalemme liberate, Spenser would not of been able to create his heroic, or
epic, poem The Faerie Queene. Without Virgil s Bucolics, and the later tradition of pastoral poetry in
Italy and France, Spenser would not have came up with and written the The Shepheardes Calender.
Lastly, without the Latin, Italian, and French examples of the highly traditional marriage ode and the
sonnet and canzone forms of Petrarch and succeeding sonneteers, Spenser could not have written his
most notable lyric, Epithalamion, and its accompanying sonnets,

Endgame by Samuel Beckett
Beckett is the founder of exploring the meaning of theatrical absurdity. Beckett s effortless writings
over the years, created a unique dramatic persona in his plays that won him the Noble Peace prize.
After receiving one of the highest awards known to humanity, he kept a low profile. This period
alludes to the satisfaction of reaching his peak. Yet, in his later work, the Endgame makes a direct
correlation with the satisfaction of making your peak a plateau. He creates a philosophical
predicament in the Endgame of trying to discover the true reasoning for existence, when he could not
find one reason why life exists. Throughout the play, he uses repetitive word usage, symbolism,
emptiness seen in the characters to convey this message.

Clov statement, he watches his light dying (Beckett 771), reiterates the view of a melancholy persona.
The repetition of describing light and darkness in different contexts throughout the play symbolizes
life and death. Even though Hamm was blind, he seemed to be happier than Clov. Hamm states, he
can feel the light on his face, he cleans his glasses as if they were useful to him. Light is symbolizing
minimal hope of life, because even though the blind man cannot see he still has a minuscule amount of
life left within him. The play continually elaborates on the death of life itself, which conveys that the
thought of death creates feelings of numbness and surpasses the state of unhappiness as the play
continues.
Clov and Hamm helped create the story line. Clov desired order of comfort for existence, which is
used to cope with his depressing existence. Clov states, I love order. It is my dream. A world where all
would be silent and still and each thing in its last place, under the last dust (Beckett 786). Even though
he felt that order would solve the problem of feeling bitterness and sorrow, Clov did not realize that
order would not field the void of emptiness. Hamm was a blind man. Clov was the one that followed
Hamm s orders; however, Clov did not like taking orders from others. Hamm asked Clov to put him in
the center of the room.
Clov did not directly put Hamm in the center, which is ironic seeing that he loved order.

Comparing Frances Zefferilli’s Hamlet and Shakespeare’s...
Comparing Frances Zefferilli s Hamlet and Shakespeare s Hamlet
I believe Frances Zefferilli s version of Shakespeare s Hamlet, made in 1990, is one of the best
versions of the play to be put onto screen. The film, starring Mel Gibson as Hamlet, and Glen Close as
Queen Gertrude, takes a different look to the play. Zefferilli explores the physiological stability of
Hamlet very well, especially in Act 3, Scene 4. My interpretation of that scene in the text was different
to the one given in the movie.
After reading the scene, I had the notion that Hamlet was already quite confused he had just come out
of a scene where he could have killed the king, but his blunted purpose gets in the way. The killing of
Polonius in the text gave me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He just continues on. He isn t put off because he had such high hopes that it would be the king, so
instead of being sad about the murder of his trusted councillor, he is merely disappointed that it had to
be Polonius calling for help instead of the king.
This part of the scene is presented a bit differently in the movie. When Hamlet enters, you can really
tell that he has gone mad. He is sad one minute, the next minute he ll give out an almighty roar.
Zefferilli has used the scenes surrounding this one to make it seem important. In some of the versions
they didn t have the near death of Claudious the scene before. I think having this scene beforehand
sets you up for Hamlet s confrontation with his mother.
You can really tell that both Hamlet and Gertrude are affected by Hamlet s insanity. Both of them
appear to cry for most of the scene. The whole scene is a sharing of emotions. The kiss is a connection
between them both, rather than a lust they both have for any sexual contact. They needed to connect
physically in some way, after all they are mother and son.
When the ghost of Hamlet s father enters, Hamlet is eager to find out what he has to say. The ghost
suggests that Hamlet talks to his mother but Gertrude still believes that he has lost his sanity, Alas,
how is t with you? . In the movie the ghost appears to be a real person, not a see through character like
the other movies depict. This is done to cause the allusion that Hamlet s father is still

Business Case Analysis of Mass Merchandisers
ANNUAL GROWTH IN SALES Mass merchandisers sellers, grocery stores, club stores, convenience
stores represent the biggest opportunity to generate combined sales. WWAV and GIS participate in
highly competitive markets and have devoted substantial resources into building their presence in the
national and international segments. Both of these segments are highly important into branding the
products and increasing their market cap. Combined efforts, manufacturers joint ventures, consumers,
products and growth efforts would be potential key success factors into the merger. Based on both
companies yearly growth sales we forecasted the annual growth sales as follows: WWAV
FORECASTED SYNERGIES From 2011 to 2011, WWAV the Cost of Sales (COS) increased 10.8%
driven primarily by higher commodity costs, increase in sales volume growth and a higher cost mix of
products sold. We believe that post acquisition that WWAV will be able to reduce the 10.8% COS to it
s original standing plus recoup an additional 33% by utilizing GIS purchasing power to achieve a 14%
savings in COS. Additionally, during the same period, WWAV experienced a 5.1% increase in selling
and distribution costs associated increased sales volume and storage facility costs. Post acquisition we
believe that WWAV can return to 2011 levels and gain additional 50% savings from GIS expansive
distribution channels and purchasing power to achieve savings of 7.7% towards operating expenses.
After acquiring WWAV, we

Research Paper On Harry Harry Harlow
Harry Harlow
Harry Frederick Harlow was probably best known for his experimentations on monkeys to discover
the effect of maternal separation, what exactly were the dependency needs on a living being, and
experiments in social isolation for the subject. His research showed the rest of society the importance
of companionship and caregiving to social as well as cognitive development. Speculators believe that
part of the reason Harlow was so obsessed with these kinds of studies was because he didn t have a
very good childhood himself. Even at an early age, he claimed to struggle with depression. His mother
and father weren t extremely involved in his life as well. This possibly led him to gain so much
interest in the study of essentially love and how it effected other people that you may be close with.
At the time, it was said that love began as a feeding bond with the mother and applied by extension to
other family members. Other theories claimed that humans and other social animals lived in organized
societies simply to help with sexual contact. Starting in 1957, Harlow worked with rhesus monkeys.
The reason behind why he chose this specific type of breed was because the monkeys that they were
utilizing were more mature at birth than humans, but like human babies show a range of emotions and
needed to be nursed. During the experimentations, he took infant monkeys away from their real
mothers and gave them instead two artificial mothers. One of the models were made

The s First True Love Passes Away
In 1997, after 40 plus years of marriage, Mr. Meada s first true love passes away. They first met in

The black community in Los Angeles was dividing within itself. Black men and women that found
work in good paying jobs started expanding into more affluent neighborhoods and became Bill s
neighbors. Similarly to Bill, they were able to send their children to better private and public schools.
They moved in and around neighborhoods like Crenshaw, Northridge, Baldwin Hills, and even parts
of forbidden Orange County.
An analysis of income distribution in black Los Angeles between 1970 and 1990 revealed the
polarizing effects of the decline in the low skilled and semi skilled employment among blacks. David
M. Grant and colleagues found that between 1970 and 1990 the number of blacks in the poorest

The Renaissance was a rebirth of cultural awareness and learning that took place during 1400 1500.
Art became a branch of learning during the Renaissance. It was a period of time when art was very
important. Artists had finally recaptured the amazing detail and realism that the Greeks and Romans
perfected. Artists broke boundaries with new exciting mediums and bright colors. Filippo Brunelleschi
permitted artists to decide the proportional size of a figure by inventing the vanishing point
perspective. This made it possible to put everything into perfect proportion. Many elderly people are
found in the paintings. Such as Man in a Red Turban on page 270 fig. 15.34 or online at

The rebirth of art in Italy was associated with the rediscovery of ancient philosophy, literature, and
science and the growth of practical methods of study in these fields. Therefore material subject matter
became increasingly important to artists. With the revived interest in antiquity came a new collection
of subjects drawn from Greek and Roman history and mythology. Like the Maesta shown on page 232
14.9 or online at http://keptar.demasz.hu/arthp/html/g/giotto/maesta.htm.
The types provided by ancient buildings and works of art also encouraged the development of new
artistic techniques and the need to re create the forms and styles of classical art. Such as the Branacci
Chapel on page 249 fig 15.12 or online at http://www.wga.hu/tours/brancacc/index.html.
Crucial to the development of Renaissance art was the emergence of the artist as a creator, sought after
and respected for his intellect and imagination. Art became respected as a means for religious and
social teaching, and a form of personal, visual expression.
Although the progression of Italian Renaissance art was a continuous process, it wass usually divided
into three major phases: Early, High, and Late Renaissance. The last phase has been the subject of
complicated interpretations that recognize many opposing and comparing trends. Some

him his nickname Fats and helped him get a regular job at the Hideaway club in New Orleans. It was
there that he began to attract attention singing and playing the piano. Soon, he was signed on by
Imperial Records, and his first record rose to number one on the R B charts (pbs.org). Along with
Dave Bartholomew and their band members, Domino recorded a number of hit songs. His greatest
successes were songs that reached a wide audience, appealing to both black and white Americans.
According to PBS, In 1957, the Domino band travelled 13,000 miles across the United States working
355 shows, and selling out nightclubs whenever they played (pbs.org). Domino s concerts were
integrated; however, racial tensions were still high especially when alcohol was involved and riots
broke out at several of Domino s concerts. In addition, Fats and his bandmates were victims of
discrimination while touring on the road, and were often treated poorly, forced to use facilities
designated for African Americans.

The Board Of Indian Commissioners
On April 10th, 1869, the United States Congress established the Board of Indian Commissioners. This
establishment authorized the President of the United States to organize a board of ten or less people to
oversee all aspects of Native American policy. The Board of Indian Commissioners was a committee
that advised the United States federal government on Native American policy. The committee also had
the purpose to inspect the supplies that were delivered to Indian reservations to ensure that the
government fulfilled the treaty obligations to tribes. President Ulysses S. Grant wanted to come up
with a new policy, which would be more humane, for Native American tribes. The policy would be
known as the Peace Policy, which aimed to be free of political corruption. The Peace Policy was
prominent on Native American reservations, where Christian Churches and the Office of Indian
Affairs, would provide Native Americans with moral Indian agents who would establish churches and
schools, teach agriculture. Therefore, creating the sense of civilizing and/or Americanizing. Within the
Board of Indian Commissioners, annual reports were commenced. One of these reports, The
Seventeenth Annual Report of the Board of Indian Commissioners of 1885, is an extremely

inhumane manner, and regress any progress the United States government had with Native Americans.

The New Developments Of Nuclear Reactor Technology And...
Unquestionably, the energy security is of great importance in order to maintain and sustain the
development of any growing economy. Therefore, this work will overview the new developments in
nuclear reactor technology and their importance as a safe and base load energy alternative. Mainly, the
focus will be on the Generation III (GIII), Generation IV (GIV) reactors and Small Modular Reactors
(SMRs) and their safety and efficiency capabilities. A comparison will be held between the nuclear,
solar and wind energy sources in terms of their reliability, safety, costs and infrastructural
requirements.
The energy industry faces various challenges such as the environmental consequences and climate
change, limited fossil fuel resources and the instability in its prices. Therefore, a clean and reliable
energy mix is required in order to meet these challenges. In order to meet these challenges, there is no
one energy source that can be up to all the challenges simultaneously, therefore; an energy mix is
required.
Each energy source has certain advantages and suffers certain disadvantages for example while
nuclear energy is a reliable source of base load energy, often, the safety aspect is considered the most
important obstacle that prevents most countries from implementing nuclear power plants into their
energy mix. However, recent developments in reactor technology might encourage reconsidering the
nuclear energy as an important and relatively safe component in the energy mix.

Alienation is something we find to be constantly present within our society. This idea is steadily
exemplified throughout history whether it be through class, race, or any social unjust. In Kristen
Dombek s piece, she details various accounts of social alienation. The reader follows as Dombek
reveals corruption between human relationships and the way we interact with world. She exposes what
we are all afraid to admit modern values and morals. Kristen Dombek presses us with the question of
why we do the things we do and live the way we live. Readers are forced to question if they are slaves
to the world around them. Do we succumb to the social and economical pressure demanded from us,
and if so, will we allow that to happen for the generations after us? Although alienation is something
that roots from ourselves as individuals, recognize the factors in our lives that this originates from.
Question the relationships people have established in their own neighborhood, or if a prosaic office
job is fulfilling. When we serve our economy but it does not do the same for us, the symbiosis or
harmony in which live in is disrupted. Will we make a change for the beauty we desire to create and
the life we lead in oppression today or tomorrow? In Bank robbin in Brooklyn Kristen Dombeck
explores the ideas of societal alienation by questioning the dynamic of people s lives in their
neighborhoods, in the workplace and their roles in society in general. Neighborhoods are the places

  • 2. Who Is J. D. Salinger s A Perfect Day For Bananafish All things truly wicked start from innocence by Ernest Hemingway. This quote is important because it relates to Seymour Glass, the main character in the short story. Glass was an ordinary man before returning from war as a completely different man, a man that was no longer innocent, but in some ways, extremely tainted. J. D. Salinger s short story, A Perfect Day for Bananafish , showcases different writing style techniques that help to better improve the effectiveness of his writing. The techniques he utilizes include: inferences throughout the story, repetition, dialogue, style, imagery, and even symbolism The style of J. D. Salinger s A Perfect Day for Bananafish is very unique in the fact that a lot of the time you are forced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His use of symbolism is also important to his style. One example of symbolism is when Seymour tells Sybil is wearing a blue swimsuit when both of them were on a beach that they frequently met and talked to each other at. The color blue, in Western literature symbolises deity and spiralituity (Hochman). Another example of symbolism being used develop his style is when Seymour kisses Sybil s foot, this occured right before Seymour left Sybil for the last time before returning back to his room and committing suicide. This act from Seymour is seen and perceived as Seymours gratefulness for Sybil s perception (Hochman). J. D. Salinger furthers his style by using a variety of elements like repetition, symbolism, or characterization. Salinger s way of writing forces the reader to read between the lines. They can either be surprised by the ending or could have seen the outcome from the beginning, because of his writing style. However, the reader must reread the story and try to understand it. All in all, his style changes how each reader interprets the story with his aforementioned elements of inferences of the reader and dialogue, short dialogue between characters and repetition, or imagery and ... • 3. Corruption And City Problems In The Twentieth Century In the early to mid twentieth century there was a lot of corruption and city problems as these new cities were being built. Since most cities were built so fast there was bad housing which lead to diseases spreading very rapidly, and there was horrible working conditions. Many of these cities were dangers for the people that lived there. Diseases started to spread very rapidly in this period of time. Different social groups later into the twentieth century would try and stop them. Some of these groups would succeed in their attempts to make their homes and work places better Do to rapid growth of cities problems started to arise for both people and animals. Immigrants coming into the cities were bringing all types of animals. They would let their animals walk around the cities. Since both cars and animals occupied the streets things began to became over crowded. In Brooklyn there were about 26,000 horses each producing 20 lbs. of manure and several gallons of urine each day. When a horse or any other animal would die people sometimes left the bodies in the streets. the streets where piled high with garbage since there was not a waste system in place. At some points people could not get to the streets to get to their cars. Tenement life was pretty bad. Most of the apartment buildings being built had no to little ventilation. Most of the time more than one family would be placed in each apartment. Since there were hardly any ventilation diseases spread very rapidly. Since ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Civil Right Movement In The 1960 s Everyone as a child has a role model someone that they look up to for advice. This person was my uncle. My uncle was the first person to attend a college. This was the person that embed the idea that I will be following in the footsteps and attend college. My parents at that time did not really push me they were focused on making sure there was food on the table. Also during my middle school year he was the main advocate for me to attend Verbum Dei High School instead of following my cousin and attending Serra High School. He has open my eyes to the injustice in this world. Once I ask him why he not attended UCLA I was really confused because he decides to attend the local community college instead. That was the point where he disclosed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 15, 2011. Thanks to the passing of the California Dream Act my uncle now attends the University of California Los Angeles. It was a topical November day. I was in the beginning of eight grade year. I was looking thru my Facebook newsfeed and I see a picture of my Uncle sitting down in the middle of the State Capitol in Montgomery Alabama. Well reading this post he said I am willing to go to jail for what I believe in . I remember reflecting on this. His action really motivated me and still motivated me to this day. It made me think of the Civil Right Movement of the 1960 s and how if you speak your mind it can make a difference. He sat there in the middle of the Capitol since it open till he was forcibly removed by the Capitol Police and arrested. He was willing to face deportation for a cause. I feel that if I attend this trip I can make a different. There two ways to make a different in this country protest or lobbying for it. If I would attend I would want to talk to a republican Congressman from California. If I get the opportunity to speak to the congressman/ women hopefully I can give this person a different perspective on the issue. • 5. Three Characteristics Of The Earth, Moon, And Sun The Earth, Moon, and Sun are three of the most unique and incredible celestial bodies in the entire universe. Each serves a distinct purpose and has remarkable characteristics that allow them to work and coincide with one another in such a complex way. All three bodies interact and work together to create an organized and continuous system that scientists continue to research and study. There are various processes and techniques the Earth, Moon, and Sun possess that help to identify and characterise each one as well as the interactions between them. The interactions between the Earth, Moon, and Sun manage the ocean s currents and tides, climate, weather, and seasons. The Sun, a star, is hot ball of glowing gases at the center of our solar system (nasa.gov/sun). It s heat and energy sustain the life we have on Earth. Without it, we would not be able to survive. The Sun warms the entire planet, reaching the Earth s surface, oceans, and atmosphere. The heat and energy from the Sun is what essentially drives the weather and climates (windows2universe.org). The orientation of the Earth to the Sun is what creates the Earth s seasons. Depending on what hemisphere you reside in, the season and weather patterns vary. If the hemisphere you live in is pointed towards the Sun, it is summer. If it is directed away from the Sun, it is winter. This is due to the tilt of Earth s axis. However, the Sun not only impacts Earth, but the other planets and the rest of our solar system as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Craft By Nokia The Craft Princess Nokia stated in Brujas I m a black Native American I vanquish all evil. She did this to carve out a space for her native identity. Contending that in every way the process of Western Civilization commits genocide toward all living things militant Indian rhetors blatantly reject assimilation into white society, advocating instead a return to traditional tribal values (Lake 732 1983). She did this by embracing her native religion of witchcraft. Furthermore, she emphasized that a return to traditional witchcraft would better society. She did this by recreating The Craft in her music video. The most obvious recreation was that of the forest scene of The Craft. She altered the perspective of the coven though the way that the knife was portrayed. In The Craft the knife was represented as a killing instrument. The women were asked if they had any fear to rush upon the blade rather than join the coven. In their perspective only strong witches would be allowed into the coven. Princess Nokia s altered that the meaning of the knife to be seen as honor. The blade moves from shoulder to shoulder as if dubbing them into a new title. She did this in order to change emotion and persuaded the viewer to look at this ritual in a different way. It shifted the perception of being in a coven as something dangerous to something that builds power and community. She also stated I aint no queen of the night I m a bruja I m a bruja and ima dress in all white. This was said ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. What Is Examined Life Essay n the immortal words of Socrates, The unexamined life is not worth living. Socrates certainly felt strongly about his beliefs as he was willing to die for them and eventually did. But was it really worth losing his life over? If so, will examining life make you happier? Life is worth examining, although doing so will not always make people happy. The question then is why is it worth examining? It is simple; the purpose of human beings is to grow to be better, something that cannot be achieved if we do not examine life. Even though we do not know what our purpose in life is, as a whole it can be agreed that humans seek to improve themselves. Thinking back to human ancestral species the Homo erectus it is understood that they did not simply accept the world for what was in front of them. Rather, when opportunity for discovery was presented to them they set forth to it. For example, when early hominin species discovered fire they did not simply walk away and accept the fact that it was a part of nature and should therefore be left to be. Instead they questioned this aspect of nature and through further examination were able to tame fire, an element that has long been credited for the rise of human species. Certainly it was well worth it for human ancestors to have examined life. Although in that situation it brought happiness, this will not always be the case, allow me to elaborate. • 8. The Civil War and American Art Exhibit at the New York... On Saturday, June 15 I attended the Civil War and American Art exhibit at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. There were a number of different people who were present on this occasion. I believe there were so many people there because this is one of the better known art galleries throughout New York. Additionally, the fact that today was part of the weekend probably contributed to the massive crowds of people present. Not everyone was there to attend the Civil War and American Art exhibit, however; there were several other exhibits taking place in different locations throughout the museum that day. The exhibit contained upwards of 20 photographs and at least 60 paintings. One of the most agreeable things about the works of art that I witnessed is that collectively, they assisted in recounting the sentiment that gripped the country during the war that threatened to sunder it. One could almost feel the initial enthusiasm as the war broke out, that was swiftly prolonged by numerous clashes over a period of years. There were works that alluded to an impending war, ones that depicted that war, and numerous ones that hinted at a hoped for ending in which the mightiness of the country would someday be restored. One of the pieces that I found to be the most moving was Frederic Edwin Church s Our Banner in the Sky , which was painted during the war s outset in 1861. This is one of the pieces in which the enthusiasm for the war was quite clearly seen. In this work, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. What Are The Similarities Between King James Version And... Be very sure of this people never reject the Bible because they cannot understand it. They understand it too well; they understand that it condemns their own behavior; they understand that it witnesses against their own sins, and summons them to judgment. They try to believe it is false and useless, because they don t like to believe it is true. J.C. Ryle. Before I begin I would like to say that I use both the King James Version and English Standard Version. I have nothing against the KJV and I believe it is an inspired word of God. The problem is I don t believe it is the only inspired word of God. Many will tell you that the KJV is the truest of trues and it is perfect and they may not be wrong. I for one have nothing wrong with the King ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So if I ve done my math correctly Paul most definitely didn t use the KJV to deliver his very inspired messages sent from God. Most people using the KJV now are using a modern version of the KJV, not the 1611 original King James. If it was the only inspired version why wouldn t you continue to use it and not modernize it? If the King James Version was the only true version would someone who was saved from a message delivered from an uninspired version have a faulty faith and salvation? Now I don t know what translation the evangelist was speaking from when I got saved but I would hate to believe that if it was not the KJV that I haven t truly been saved all this time. You would assume that the translation from the oldest manuscripts would be the most accurate but versions such as the ESV actually use older manuscript families than that of the KJV. I fear for the intentions of the KJV only advocates, for I feel that many but not all, focus more on the Bible translation and the persuading of others to use it than they do on the main character and persuasion of others to follow ... • 10. Chemical Compounds That Transmit Neural Signals From One... 3.3.1 Neurotransmitter indicators Neurotransmitters are endogenous chemical compounds that transmit neural signals from one neuron to another. Many neurotransmitters are amino acids, such as glutamate, glycine and GABA, or biogenic amines, such as dopamine and serotonin, or even peptides and proteins, such as somatostatin and substance P {Snyder 1979}. Binding of neurotransmitters may either inhibit or excite the postsynaptic neurons. Among the numerous neurotransmitters, glutamate is the major excitatory amino acid neurotransmitter in mammalian neural systems {Cotman 1986}. The first genetically encoded neurotransmitter for glutamate was reported in 2005 {Okumoto, 2005 #292}. Upon binding to glutamate, the indicator converts the ... A design principle similar to that used for iGluSnFR may one day produce a series of genetically encoded indicators for probing various neurotransmitters with spine sized spatial resolution. Instead of probing the neurotransmitters directly, one could probe the neurotransmitter binding events by coupling it to a different optical readout using a multi component system. Nguyen et al. described a multi component system, called cell based neurotransmitter fluorescent engineered reporters (CNiFERs), to monitor in situ neurotransmitter receptor activation {Nguyen, 2010 #921}. CNiFERs are engineered cultured cells that stably express an M1 acetylcholine receptor and the GECI TN XXL. The system utilizes the GPCR cascade to convert receptor activity into a rise in cytosolic Ca2+ which is reported by TN XXL. Nguyen et al. injected CNiFERs in the frontal cortex of the adult rat and used CNiFERs to probe the change of cholinergic signaling induced by an atypical neuroleptic drug {Nguyen, 2010 #921}. • 11. Biological Weapons And Its Uses Introduction Dating back to the 1100 s there have been records of the use of biological weapons in warfare. This involved the usage of human and animal corpses to pollute water sources and to spread diseases. Post World War One increased interest in biological weapons lead to them becoming more advanced. With this improvement it is evident that warfare has evolved. This progression in warfare can be seen when looking at the manner in which wars were fought prior to the introduction of biological weapons in the 1100 s, and comparing it to the manner in which they were fought succeeding the advancement of these weapons in the 1900 s. Although biological weapons have rarely been used, their effects on warfare are apparent. When studying biological weapons one must deliberate on the factors that have driven its use and creation as well as the responses and threats thereof. This essay will therefore focus on depicting biological weapons and their uses throughout history; beginning with its most medieval applications in siege warfare and comparing it to its various uses in World War One, Japan in the 1920 s , the Cold War and the Persian Gulf War. The reasons as to why biological weapons have been used and created differ in each circumstance, ranging from its advantageousness in imperialism to its role in instilling fear. Furthermore, to properly determine the impact of biological weapons on warfare this essay will examine the outcomes of its use. With the main response being the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes the piece becomes somewhat repetitive with ostinato patterns present a lot of the time. This piece is played and composed in such a way that it draws the listener into a story. The rhythm plays a big part in this. On the first page of the composition, Stravinsky changes the meter eight times in nine measures which grabs the attention of the listener. Though the rhythms in the rite of spring are highly irregular, they are still pulsed. This caused innovations in musical notation in the score to make the piece playable. Sometimes sounding chaotic, Stravinsky expanded the use of polyrhythm. Creating a hectic and unpleasant sound, nothing like this was done before. The piece s enormous harmonies move very slowly indeed. This slow harmonies contradict the pie s sense of energy creating a very dissonant and disturbing atmosphere. The purpose of the research article (article) is to explore three specific topics regarding the communication structure of a geographically distributed software development team: the observable behavior of the organization in reference to Conway s law, difficulties encountered by geographically distributed teams, and potential solutions for these difficulties. Conway s law suggests that the resulting product of an organization will take on characteristics of the organization s communication systems. This would suggest that a large geographically segregated team, which faces communication barriers as a result, would produce a product reflective of the barriers. The article states that geographically distributed teams will face difficulty in the exchange of information. Teams must use a common language, with agreed upon attributes. These types of teams develop software systems individually, which must then work together. This would require great coordination through effective communication. The article makes the point that Conway s law dictates that teams coordinate their efforts, while Frederick Brooks suggests that this is not so easy to achieve. Advancement in communication technologies has helped to tackle some of the communication barriers that distributed teams face. The article justifies the study by stating that existing research is not clear on the benefits of applying Conway s law to this specific situation. • 31. Research Paper On Harry Harry Harlow Harry Harlow Harry Frederick Harlow was probably best known for his experimentations on monkeys to discover the effect of maternal separation, what exactly were the dependency needs on a living being, and experiments in social isolation for the subject. His research showed the rest of society the importance of companionship and caregiving to social as well as cognitive development. Speculators believe that part of the reason Harlow was so obsessed with these kinds of studies was because he didn t have a very good childhood himself. Even at an early age, he claimed to struggle with depression. His mother and father weren t extremely involved in his life as well. This possibly led him to gain so much interest in the study of essentially love and how it effected other people that you may be close with. At the time, it was said that love began as a feeding bond with the mother and applied by extension to other family members. Other theories claimed that humans and other social animals lived in organized societies simply to help with sexual contact. Starting in 1957, Harlow worked with rhesus monkeys. The reason behind why he chose this specific type of breed was because the monkeys that they were utilizing were more mature at birth than humans, but like human babies show a range of emotions and needed to be nursed. During the experimentations, he took infant monkeys away from their real mothers and gave them instead two artificial mothers. One of the models were made ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was like a spectacle on the news as one would watch news of the war in Iraqi. The black community in Los Angeles was dividing within itself. Black men and women that found work in good paying jobs started expanding into more affluent neighborhoods and became Bill s neighbors. Similarly to Bill, they were able to send their children to better private and public schools. They moved in and around neighborhoods like Crenshaw, Northridge, Baldwin Hills, and even parts of forbidden Orange County. An analysis of income distribution in black Los Angeles between 1970 and 1990 revealed the polarizing effects of the decline in the low skilled and semi skilled employment among blacks. David M. Grant and colleagues found that between 1970 and 1990 the number of blacks in the poorest quintile and the wealthiest quintile increased significantly, while the number of blacks in the middle three quintiles decreased by as much as 30 percent. (Sides, 202) Latino migration was easier than that of Black Americans. White neighbors found Latinos more tolerable and considered them the ambiguous relationship to whiteness. 1 But they too had their limitations of acceptance into the white neighborhoods. Artists had finally recaptured the amazing detail and realism that the Greeks and Romans perfected. Artists broke boundaries with new exciting mediums and bright colors. Filippo Brunelleschi permitted artists to decide the proportional size of a figure by inventing the vanishing point perspective. This made it possible to put everything into perfect proportion. • 36. The New Developments Of Nuclear Reactor Technology And... Unquestionably, the energy security is of great importance in order to maintain and sustain the development of any growing economy. Therefore, this work will overview the new developments in nuclear reactor technology and their importance as a safe and base load energy alternative. Mainly, the focus will be on the Generation III (GIII), Generation IV (GIV) reactors and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and their safety and efficiency capabilities. A comparison will be held between the nuclear, solar and wind energy sources in terms of their reliability, safety, costs and infrastructural requirements. The energy industry faces various challenges such as the environmental consequences and climate change, limited fossil fuel resources and the instability in its prices. Therefore, a clean and reliable energy mix is required in order to meet these challenges. In order to meet these challenges, there is no one energy source that can be up to all the challenges simultaneously, therefore; an energy mix is required. Each energy source has certain advantages and suffers certain disadvantages for example while nuclear energy is a reliable source of base load energy, often, the safety aspect is considered the most important obstacle that prevents most countries from implementing nuclear power plants into their energy mix. However, recent developments in reactor technology might encourage reconsidering the nuclear energy as an important and relatively safe component in the energy mix. For ... Do we succumb to the social and economical pressure demanded from us, and if so, will we allow that to happen for the generations after us? Although alienation is something that roots from ourselves as individuals, recognize the factors in our lives that this originates from. Question the relationships people have established in their own neighborhood, or if a prosaic office job is fulfilling. When we serve our economy but it does not do the same for us, the symbiosis or harmony in which live in is disrupted. Will we make a change for the beauty we desire to create and the life we lead in oppression today or tomorrow? In Bank robbin in Brooklyn Kristen Dombeck explores the ideas of societal alienation by questioning the dynamic of people s lives in their neighborhoods, in the workplace and their roles in society in general.
