The camera work in this music video is very smooth, the
shots used in this music video are still, stable and clear.
The visual effects in this music video are quite distorting,
this is something that can link this video to my music
video because I am choosing to add a few distorting
effects into mine.
The editing in this video is very fast, there is a lot of
jump cuts to different shots, there is also a wide amount
of flashing images placed when the bass has hit. This is
another thing I can link to my project because this is the
style of the grime genre and I want to follow this editing
style.

The camera shots and movement in this music video are
very clear, the shots used in this music video include
slow motion clips, fast motion and very still shots. The
style of these shots in the music video is very well
produced, the video mixes with different speeds through
out. This is something I can adapt into my project, I
would like to include some slow/fast motion clips. The
visual effects in this video are not as distorting and over
the top as the artists other videos, this seemed to be a
very professional music video.
The editing in this video is mixed with a fast and slow
pace, as the song slows down the videos go into slow
motion then when the pace increases the speed of the
clips start to rise up. I would like to include this in my
editing because I think it can create a sense of intensity
for the viewers, the intensity will rise up for the viewers
ad the song goes along.

The camera work and visual shots in this music video are
very unusual, MGK had camera shots right up close to his
face, long distance shots & shots showing is reflection
on a car tire. I would like to include some of these shots
in my music video because it means I can experiment
with more camera angles that I could use for other
projects.
The editing in this music video is a very popular style,
this editing style is most used in sound cloud rappers
videos. The style shows changes of colour in the sky, 3d
animations & RGB effects. I will be using similar effects
like this in my music video because I have experience
creating these visual effects. It will be easy for me to
include these.

inappropriate hand gestures in my music video.
If I am filming in a moving vehicle I will not be allowed to

No filming near a river or in a nightclub/party where
people in the background have not given me permission

I will not use a huge amount of footage to edit, I wont
film more than a few needed shots so I do not waste time
and fall behind my deadline by editing for too long.

The meaning behind my selected song (MISS ME WITH IT)
is to show that you shouldn't’t let people tell you what
you can or can not do. The content in this music video is
clips of the artist life and shows how he makes songs
and films his videos, all of these clips have been put
together to go with the song. The duration of this music
video was 3 minutes, a standard length for a music
video. The pace of the song is really intense, it does’t
slow down it only increases in speed. The style of this
music video was like any other grime video, showing off
their lifestyle and showing how they make and spend
money on. The style of the song is perfect if you’re into
hard hitting bass and fast flows.

I will edit my music video at home, I own an apple mac
and have access to Final Cut Pro and Adobe After effects.
I will not need any other specialist facilities because I
have access to all the places I need to film. I keep my
equipment in one room in my house so I will be able to
take what I need when I require it.
I will also edit in college during lessons and free periods
if I feel I need to speed up the process, I will bring my
editing equipment into college each day.

In my team I have 5 friends who have agreed to help me
with my music video, my teams strengths are that we
understand the same type of music and music video styles,
a weakness in my team is that they have never performed in

I do not need any external performers, I already have a plan
on who is going to be in my music video and who will be the

25. PROPS/COSTUME/ETC
The costumes I need for this music video are specifically
tracksuits, I chose tracksuits as my main costume
because they fit the genres fashion sense, in most grime
uk rap videos the artists and other backup actors can be
seen wearing mainly tracksuits. This is a convention from
other grime music videos. The tracksuits are also a good
choice because of the price range and the popularity, they
do not have a very high price range and each one of my
chosen actors have some sort of black/grey tracksuit
clothing to use for this music video.
I will not be in need of any specific props for this music
video, I do not need to act anything out with a fake
object, this music video is purely lip syncing and
professionally edited like the majority of high production
grime videos.

BEFORE FILMING – the day before I am going to start
filming I will collect and set up all the equipment that I
need so that I can be organized for filming the next day.
DAY 1– on the first day of filming I am going to film my
night shots, I will set up my lighting outside in my
garage then film my actor lip syncing the song.
DAY 2 – for my second day of filming I will shoot my
daytime shots, I will not need any professional lighting
for these shots because I will be filming on the field & in
the street.
DAY 3 – on my 3rd day of production I will start editing
my shots together, I will edit on Final Cut Pro
DAY 4 – on day 4 I will continue editing my music video, I
will finish my editing this day too.

36. STORYBOARD
For my opening shot I want the actors walking down a
path with the man actor in front. This shot is called a
long distance shot showing people walking from a
distance
After the opening shot I then want it to transition
into a shot with the main actor lip syncing with
other actors around him like it is shown in this
shot by Stormzy’s music video.
After the first lip sync shot I will then show my
day and night shots, when these are shown they
are going to be showing backwards and forward
between the two.
After I have shown my day and night shots I will also include a
shot of my actor indoors, I felt I should have an indoor shot
because the rest of my shots seem to be outside, I will include
this shot when the flow gets slower and is about to change.
When on my second verse I will open it by using
a shot filmed in a field with my background
actors surrounding my main actor.
For my final shot I will show a low angled shot of
the actor backing away from the camera, after
my actor has backed away the camera will slowly
pan to the sky then fade out.

you progress your production
