Through this Slide Share we can seek to harness the benefits of water by ensuring that there is sufficient water for growth of mulberry plants and the different resources from which this water is obtained.
Mulberry, the only food plant of silkworm, Bombyx mori, is also attacked by a large number of insect pests during cultivation. The important pests are Bihar hairy caterpillar, thrips, Mealy bugs, Scale insects, Leaf roller. The pests cause reduction in leaf yield about 10-20%. Several control measures (mechanical, physical, cultural, biological) are recommended to reduce the losses caused by pests.

Mulberry plant grows as a perennial tree is attacked by pests which cause damage to the mulberry yield by attacking different parts of the plant. In this Slide Share the different symptoms and control measures to be taken when mulberry plants are attacked by pest is dealt
Mulberry is a perennial , depending upon the type of cultivation it’s efficiency and utility, the success of sericulture depends. Hence through this SlideShare the morphology of the plant is studied.
Mineral are required in small quantity For effective biological functions, whose deficiencies causes roof problems, hence understand of their importance for mulberry plant’s is necessary
Soil fertility depends upon the manures which are applied in bulk. They not only improve the fertility but also the physical properties of the soil, subsequently the quantity and quality of the plant being grown.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
4. Introduction
• Mulberry is planted either in the form of cuttings or grafts
• In India cuttings are planted in the tropical region and grafs
in the temparate region
• These planting system are adopted according to the
availability of agronomical inputs
• In irrigated and high rainfall areas
5. Types of planting systems
• Pit System
• Row system
• Paired row system
• Kolar system
6. Pit System
• After preparation of land pits of 30 cm,
diameter and 15 – 20 cm depth are dug as
per the spacing method selected
• Recent observations have shown that
digging pits of 45 ×45 cm depth gives
better result.
• This system is followed for a spacing of 90
cm × 90 cm under rainfed condition
RAINFED SYSTEM
7. • At the time of planting it is sufficient if
farmyard manure or composed at the
rate of 10 to 15 tone's per hector is
applied.
• Mulberry is planted in wide spacing
commonly into 3×3 this system is
practiced in rainfed conditions
• The advantage is that inter cultivation is
done using bullocks as the space is wide
thus saving on the cost of cultivation
8. • In pit system leaf harvesting by plucking is practised
and pruning is done only once a year .
• Irrigation is available the spacing is reduced to into
two 60 CM into 60 CM but the leaf harvesting is
done by plucks
9. Row system
• This system of planting is followed in
irrigated and high rainfall areas
• In this space between rows is wider
than space between plants within the
row
• In Kolar district of Karnataka the
plants within the row is 30-45cm and
the space between the plants within
the row is 4-6 (10cm)
IRRIGATED SYSTEMS
10. • Under the package of practices, the row
space is 2’(60cm) and plant distance of 9’
(22cm) i.e., 2×9 or 60×22cm is
recommended.
• In row system higher inputs of manure
and fertilizers are provided.
• Inter cultivation is done only by digging.
• The whole shoot is harvested by pruning
at the bottom in each crop and hence, the
leaf harvesting cost is low.
11. Paired row system
• Paired row system of planting
with)90+150) cm ×60 cm spacing is
advantages over the existing system of
plantation with 90×90cm or 60 cm ×60cm
spacing
• The advantage of paired row plantation
are spacing between two paired rows
facilities the use of power tiller for
intercultural operations and transportation
of leaves.
12. • It also facilities the use of drip irrigation
system.
• Accommodates more number of/acre.
• Easy and quick transportation of leaves
which reduces moisture loss.
• Saves labour up to 40% due to shoot
harvesting
13. • In tropical conditions as in South India ,
mulberry can root easily and therefore, can
be easily propagated through cuttings with
minimum of time and expenditure.
• The cutting should be prepared from 4-8
month’s old hard wood branches which are
brown in colour and at least ½ (10 -12mm) in
diameter.
• The cuttings should be at least 7-8(18-20cm)
long with a minimum of three buds the ends
of the cuttings should be clean cut with a
sharp knife, without split or bark peeling off.
14. Kolar system
• It is a modified row system that found in
Kolar district of Karnataka.
• Here the distance between the rows is
kept 30 -45 cm and that between two
plant’s is about 10-15.
• Under Kolar System cultivation the whole
shoot is cut to the ground level at each
harvest.
• Thus the pruning and harvesting are
combined together.
15. • In all five harvest are made in a year
and thus the plant receives five
pruning's.
• This is suitable only for tropical
climates, where mulberry sprouts all
the year round with no dormant
period for bud sprouting.
• This type of severe pruning however
needs heavy fertilization and
irrigation.
