Plants show two main types of movements: tropic and nastic. Tropic movements are directional responses to stimuli like light, gravity, water, chemicals, or touch. They include phototropism, geotropism, hydrotropism, chemotropism, and thigmotropism. Nastic movements are non-directional responses unaffected by the stimulus direction, such as the folding or drooping of leaves in the touch me not plant in response to changes in leaf water levels.
