2. INTRODUCTION
● Plants do not move on their
own from one place to another,
but they can move their body
parts for getting sunlight ,water
& nutrients.
● They are sensitive to external
factors like light, gravity,
temperature & etc.

2.NASTIC MOVEMENT
Tropism is a undirectional
movement of a whole or
part of a plant towards
the direction of stimuli.
Nastic movements are non
directional response of a
plant or part of a plant
to stimulus.

The movement that
follows earth
gravitational force is
called “geotropism”.

The movement that is
caused by chemical
substances stimulus.

The movement that is

The movement of the
plant root that is
influenced by
reservation of soil
water.

Plants or a part of
the palant responds
to the changing
atmospheric
temperature.
