This document compares and evaluates the assessment tools Kahoot and Nearpod. It finds that both have strengths for engaging students and providing formative assessment, but that Nearpod offers more functionality through integrated features if a subscription is purchased. It recommends that the school present both tools to staff and subscribe to Nearpod to unlock all of its features and encourage teachers to create dynamic presentations and assessments.

8. RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Educational Technology
Department that both Nearpod and Kahoot be
presented to campus staff as options for assessment
aids within all grades and classes. The applications of
these tools are so varied that they are deemed
beneficial across all curriculum types. It is also the
recommendation of the Educational Technology
Department that the district subscribe Nearpod so that
teachers may have access to all of the products
peatures including the ability to save their work for use
and editing as they need without the storage limitations
of the free version. By purchasing the subscription to
Nearpod we also encourage our educators to utilize all
of the available tools to create engaging and dynamic
presentations and assessments.
