Reflection Paper On Rmsel Family
Greetings fellow RMSEL civilians, I am Dinara for those who didn t know me. And today, I would
like to talk about our little RMSEL community. Our RMSEL community is wonderful, it is full of
compassion, comfort, social acceptance, you name it. I have always dreamed of a little world with all
of these components, and here I am today in that little world; my dream has come true. But, there is
always going to be a problem in this little world that we all live in, and that problem is that we can get
sad pretty easily. That sadness can get carried off to others all around us, it becomes contagious and
dreadful, we can get all these different kinds of emotions just from this sadness. And sometimes our
little community falls apart just because of that vile, cancerous sadness. As RMSEL citizens, we have
to get rid of this sadness, we have to overcome this sadness before it is too late. When I first came to
RMSEL in 6th grade, I felt uncomfortable with my surrounding others. I didn t recognize anyone s
faces and I didn t feel welcomed. But, I didn t give up, I came to this school because I wanted to
achieve in becoming a better person. So I tried to make myself comfortable with the school s system, I
asked questions to the students on how the system is like for this school. They gave me answers, and I
became more and more aware of the school. The students told me everything, but usually in a
traditional school, the explanation on the school s system would be written on

Dual Language Service Experience Paper
Experiencing anything new is always a step outside of my comfort zone, and with this project in
particular whether it was going to someone else s church or bringing them to mine. I felt confident
when it came to going to someone else s church, because I had a sense of what to expect and felt as
though I knew enough about the environment. However, when it came to bringing someone to my
church I did not feel that same sense of confidence. I have a primary church(full member), and I have
another church that is smaller and more family like. I chose to bring my guest(Andrew H) to my
smaller church, because the size would not have been has impactful as well as they do a dual language
service(haitian creole english). I also chose to attend Andrew s church, because i somewhat of the
culture there but I wanted to learn more. Saturday, November 27 I attended Braintree SDA Church,
and it was quite different from what I am used to. Those leading the service and those participating in
it have more interaction than I am used to. When it came to worship there was a designated book in
the pews and a list of hymns in the program for you to follow along. I was not used to retaining the
music like that. Usually, the worship team will call it out and one will see it on the monitors. The
lyrics will be shown on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is usually a call to worship meaning the worship team will say a few words to get people s mind
into the right state of worship. The music and worship as a whole as a way sending this optimistic yet
reflectional vibe. Whereas, at the church I visited there was not a sense of that. I was with my friends
so I naturally felt positive, but I did not feel pulled into the worship. The congregation felt as though it
was detached from the worship team As though they were singing and the congregation was being
dragged along. I did not feel an emotional gravitational

Single Ethnographic Research
Today, anyone can use a camera to capture a photo with a single click in a single second. However;
this type of advanced camera was nonexistent during the renaissance when photographers were using
camera obscuras to project inverted images of the things that were outside the of the obscura. It wasn t
until the 19th century that the development of the chemical needed to capture an actual image became
available. Even though people were now able to photograph, the lengthy process that it took to register
a single image made photography nearly impossible. For instance, Joseph Nicéphore Niépce took
more than 6 hours to capture the first photographs ever taken.
During the 19th century, there were several technological improvements that made photography a
more convenient task. Some of these improvements included the daguerreotype process invented in
1839 by photographer Louis Daguerre. This invention allowed photographers to capture images with
shorter exposure to light thus, creating longer lasting photographs. A few years later, a man by the
name of William Henry Fox Talbot invented the calotype process which allowed several copies of an
image to be produced using a negative paper image. The two most significant technological ... Show

artwork depicts one of Saint Theresa s most intense spiritual visions. In this sculpture, Bernini used
the physical body to illustrate what Saint Teresa s vision was about and to help the viewer better
understand her experience. The sculpture shows an angel carrying a spear that is heading to Saint
Teresa who seems to be in pain. Although Bernini used marble to create this amazing artwork;
everything seems to have a different texture. For instance, the angels clothing looks much softer and

Marie Curie Career Role Model
What, how and who?
Every individual needs a career role model, without being inspired by someone we wouldn t have
chosen a career.
CAREER A career is the period that spans all the working years of our life, a career can go through
many changes but we only get one. A Role model is someone who other individuals aspire to be like,
either in the present or in the future. To succeed... you need to find something to hold on to, something
to motivate you, something to inspire you. Tony Dorsett. ( American former football running back in

Marie Curie was the first woman to receive the doctoral degree and two Nobel prizes. Marie Curie
faced many troubles in a male dominated field .she became a famous female scientist. She didn t leave
her love for science in the laboratories, she followed her enthusiasm for science. She is recognized as
the elements of radium and polonium, along with many discoveries, which led to the first looks at the
treatment of cancer. She determined that x ray will help the doctors to find the bullets and made that
into a compact one to fit in an ambulance. During the WW1 , her discoveries helped the doctors.
People who have chosen science as the career should know about Marie to get inspired and to be like
her. A Woman who thinks that they can t win anything in this male dominating world should read
about her. Those who read about her would have become bold enough to face the world without fear.

Private Property Benefit Analysis
The topic I have decided to explore from this week s reading is the assertion that private property
rights are a barrier to economic growth. I agree that having a well documented and enforceable system
is necessary in protecting one s personal property rights, however the reading seems to believe that
landowners are disadvantaged because they cannot secure loans against their property. In the reading,
it is reported that Egypt has $240 billion dollars tied up in what he refers to as dead capital . (De Soto,
2000).
While I agree that a reform in the registration of land ownership would be a positive move to protect
the property rights of individuals, I believe that giving out loans to impoverished people is not a
pathway to prosperity, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Outside of the obvious environmental concerns, one prime example is the controversial Keystone XL
pipeline proposal in the United States. The path of this pipeline would cut right through the properties
of many landowners in Texas. Those who did not accept a deal with this company (from the
landowner s perspective, this is a foreign company. TransCanada is not based in the United States)
were taken to court where the tyrannical practice of eminent domain was invoked to force them to
comply. Why own land? Why pay taxes if a foreign interest can just take your property because they
want it? This affront to property rights does not get media coverage. The people who are at risk of
having their rights violated (with the blessing of the U.S. Government) are everyday people. I think
the struggle of the Texas landowners is best framed by the words of Julia Trigg Crawford; We are a
Texas family standing up to a foreign company who wants to take our land for what appears to be a
profit making endeavor (Mufson, 2012).
If property rights cannot be guaranteed in a developed nation, what chance does a developing nation
stand of having enforceable property rights? Governing bodies will always side with the financial
interests when property rights are at odds with profits. I truly do not feel that the developed world is
going to pull any nation towards prosperity by granting them property rights just to lend them

Compassion Fatigue Paper
The current class has been very informative on nursing theories and it is the dream of every aspiring
nursing student and registered nurses to provide compassionate care to the patients. Nurses have a role
not only to offer physical care but to offer mental, spiritual and emotional support to patients as well.
Patients with complex and frequently diverse needs must be given the full attention of the nurse based
on their needs. Consistent research indicated the significant benefits which ensue when nurses offer
compassionate care; however this is not always the case, especially among nurses which are involved
in direct care of terminally ill patients and such nurses end up suffering from compassion fatigue, this
is what Joinson (1992) described ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Compassion fatigue is a huge reality and according to Potter et al. (2013), long term effects of
compassion fatigue have negative impact on the health, well being and performance of nurses
involved. Jean Watson s theory of caring said, true healing cannot be realized without caring therefore,
compassion fatigue is a problem that does not only affect nurses, but goes a notch higher by also
affecting the quality of care offered by compassion fatigue victims. Boyle (2011) observed that there is
need for nurses to be compassionate and caring especially when providing care to patients, families or
relatives. Slatten et al. (2011) noted that compassion fatigue is an occupational hazard among nurses
involved (that is, professionals involved in helping others). Compassion fatigue is therefore, a
significant problem affecting professional practice in nursing because Rosa (2014) stated that, being a
successful caregiver requires a nurse to be in a position to find the meaning in what they do, remain
committed and immersed in order to gain a sense of purpose. However, compassion fatigue stands as a
barrier to realization of sense of purpose among

Why Does Conan Doyle Put So Much Emphasis On Social Class
Why does Conan Doyle put so much emphasis on social class? When it comes to the subject of social
class, this story reminded me of just about every other book we ve read this semester, in the way they
decided to depict the lower class. Both Holmes and Doyle come from a very privileged and educated
background, and had a very bad attitude towards anyone from even a slightly lower class, even though
they relied on the lower classes to do a lot of things for them. They treated the lower classed people as
second class citizens and it really speaks to the time period. For some reason all of our stories have
read include upper middle class people who seemed perfect normal on the outside, but had some really
weird supernatural or crazy thing happen. It makes me think that one thing I could take from these
books is mo money, mo problems. Who s the real bad guy of The Hound of the Baskervilles? ... Show

The main conflict in this story is between the Baskervilles and the curse that haunts them. But the only
thing that is truly haunting them is Stapleton. Stapleton s corrupt behavior comes about in the pursuit
of money and power, reminds me of Heathcliff and his desire to have Wuthering Heights and
Trushcross grange. Stapleton, being a distant cousin of Sir Henry, has his eye on securing the
Baskerville estate for himself, and created all this mess for his selfish benefit: requiring Holmes to
deal with not just the physical threat to the Baskerville heir, but also debunk all the fear surrounding
the hound. So basically when someone in the family comes into some money there will always be a
distant long lost cousin wanting a piece of it. Its surprising how that logic can be applied to both the
time period in which the book takes place, and our current

Social Media Has An Inopportune Impact On Society
Technology has been improving yearly and has now become part of many people s life. Humans have
become dependent on technology for many things like to communicate, to learn, to create things, to
advertise, the list is endless. Access to the internet has become easier even in underdeveloped
countries. This means that almost anyone can post, share, comment, and do many different functions
that social media allows to do.
Considering that technology is easy to access and that people depend on it, it is almost impossible to
not have a controversial conversation over it. Some people believe that posting on social media has an
inopportune impact on society. However, there are a lot of positive impacts social media has on
society. Social media bring people together and helps society in a lot of ways. Posting to social media
comes with responsibilities since what is posted could not be taken lightly by someone else however,
there should be no fear in posting since the freedom to do so is there for the taking and can benefit in
many ways. First and foremost, social media was made to share ideas. In order to share ideas a way
for things to be published and seen by others had to be created. Social media is defined as the ability
to use the internet to share and communicate instantly with others (historycooperative.org). The
developers of social media applications such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and many
more, found a way to make this possible. In Facebook and

Funding For Special Needs Education
Do you know anyone in your family, a friend, co worker or even a person at school with learning

disabilities would be taken away from them. Around the country budgets cut have been made,
especially harming the programs for special needs students. The total amount that has been cut cross
nation from this program, is ridiculous, $578,892,762 (www.special education degree.net). Here in
Illinois, we have been one of the states that s been most struck by this budget cut. The
progressillinois.com has said over the summer they announced that $42 million cuts... And another cut
was announced for 12 million . Some think the funding for special needs education shouldn t be
raised, however, they should give more funding for special needs education because it will give them
more opportunities to advance in higher education, improve their social skills and help them thrive
later on in life. Now tell me do you think it is fair to take away money from student who just want to
learn? For a start, children with a disability already face so much, and now have to deal with their
programs being cut. I know how hard is it for these students, I have a godson who has autism. He
struggles everyday with the littlest thing, and yet always want to go to school. Having a disability

Ganglioside Research Paper
Gangliosides (GM) are glycosphingolipids with complex structures that are found within cellular
membranes. They are most abundant in the nervous system with many important functions such as
serving as the structural components of biomembranes, mediators in signal transductions, and playing
a role in cell to cell recognition. While the presence of gangliosides is vital to cellular function,
ganglisoide degradation is necessary to prevent a buildup of lipids. The excess presence of
gangliosides in the cell ultimately causes apoptosis. There are several different classifications of
gangliosides, however, a buildup of lipids resulting from improper GM2 ganglioside catabolism

Errors involving ganglioside metabolism heavily impact the central nervous system due to the
presence of a higher concentration of gangliosides. TSD is specifically caused by a mutation in the
HEXA gene encoding the α subunit of β hexosaminidase A. An individual with TSD is able to
transport the GM2 ganglioside from the cellular membrane to the lysosome for degradation, but is
unable to process it further since the α subunit of β hexosaminidase A cannot cleave the terminal N
acetylgalactosamine group. Without this cleavage, the lysosome is unable to digest the GM2

The Problem Of Computer Network Security
Introduction
Computer network security has never been as critical as it is today. The news is littered with the
widespread incidents of hacking and cyber theft in the financial, entertainment, and retail industries,
and more recently in our military. A recent survey, conducted by Kaspersky Lab, a leader in endpoint
protection solutions, found that 94% of all companies surveyed experienced a cyber security issue
(Kaspersky Lab, 2014). Furthermore, a recent study has found that the average cost of a data breach to
a company was $3.5 million, a 15% increase from the previous year (Ponemon Institute, 2014). In this
day and age, the cost of a data breach, not only to a company s bottom line, but to their reputation,
would be extensive.
Statement of the Problem
Recently, Acme Corporation experienced a network compromise which resulted in the possible
compromise of the personally identifiable information (PII) of their employees and clients. As a start
up company, many technological issues were overlooked in the interest of getting the business off the
ground. Significant emphasis was placed on acquiring the most up to date and cutting edge hardware
and software, unfortunately, only mediocre consideration was placed on network security. This report
will examine the factors that contributed to vulnerability and will identify the solutions that must be
undertaken to secure the company network and protect it against future cyber attacks.

Introduction
Wind power:
Wind is a clean, powerful renewable energy source which can be used to convert the mechanical
energy into electrical energy. Wind power uses large wind turbines rotated by air flow in turn rotates
power generators to generate electricity. Many individual wind turbines can be connected to an
electrical grid to transmit the power. Wind is an inexhaustible energy resource and environmental

The Segregation Of South Afric An Outcome Of Colonialism,...
The existing pattern of manipulated schooling in South Africa can be considered an outcome of
colonialism, segregation and apartheid. In the early 1800s, the arrival of the British introduced the first
system of education in Africa. The indigenous people of Africa were exposed to schooling under the
provision of British missionaries. At this time, education was a means of spreading the British
language, imposing their religion and just a general mechanism for social control. Their strategy was
to civilize the black Africans and anglicize the white Afrikaners. And most of the school
establishments were mixed, serving whites coloreds and Africans. However, the Afrikaners resisted
European control in attempt to avoid becoming the lower ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Education s role can be molding a person for their prescribed field of work, and that is exactly what
the whites conducted. They systematically programmed the Africans for work as cheap unskilled
laborers and thus left the superior roles in society for themselves to fill. Clear ethnic and class
stratification developed, and the government eventually adopted the view that Africans must fund their
own education, which continued throughout the apartheid. Between 1910 and 1948, per capita
expenditures on white education increased by 263% and African numbers in school plummeted to
about 30% (Johnson 1982). Once again, limiting education was a tool to shape society for the benefit
of one group the education of the White child prepares him for life in a dominant society and the
education of the black child for a subordinate society (Johnson 1982). And in 1948, the Afrikaner
National Party rose to power by an election victory, attaining further governmental policy control. The
aim of the National Party was to increase and rigidify the segregationism imposed in the few years
previous, and thus began the apartheid in South Africa. To facilitate the separation of all ethnic groups
the Bantu Education act was introduced in 1953. And in combination with the National Education
Policy Act of 1967, which stripped the provinces of most of their control over white education and

The Historical Context Of Esther s Esther
Esther is a book about a young, Jewish girl who found favor with King Ahasuerus and became queen
of Persia. The story begins with Vashti, who was queen before Esther. When the king requested that
Vashti come before the banquet he was throwing, she refused. This angered the king and she lost her
good standing. He also ordered that every woman should give honor to her husband. From here begins
the specific pericope discussed in this paper. Beginning at Esther 2:1, the king is convinced to bring
young virgins to him and choose the one that pleases him the most to take Vashti s place. The text
moves on to discuss how Mordecai came to be under Xerxes rule.

In reality, it is difficult to tie any of the stories in Esther to actual historical events. The Persian
Empire, for one, did not consist of 127 provinces; rather, it only had 20. There are no records of any
Persian king giving the order to kill off all of the Jewish population, nor of any Persian king giving the
order that the Jews could defend themselves. The sheer number of Persians killed in the Esther ,
75,000, is unlikely because there are no historical records of any slaughter that size (Harris 243). On
the other hand, scholars believe that the king portrayed in Esther is Xerxes I, so it is possible that at
least some of the information involved is based on truth (Harris 242). The knowledge that the author
portrays of Persian court and customs also lends to the belief that some of the information is true
(Harris 243). It is also possible that a Persian king had a woman of Jewish descent in his large harem ,
but it is unlikely that such a woman would have been his first wife (Harris 243). Scholars suggest that
Esther is, instead of a work of history, a work of historical fiction due to the balance of historical fact
and authorial flair (Leith

The Theme Of Romanticism In The Awakening By Kate Chopin
Some of the motives of the book the awakening were music, children, and houses. Music gives us a
sense of Edna ideological alignment in relations with the others characters. Edna first learns about the
emotive powers of music from Mademoiselle Reisz, whereas Adele Ratignole piano playing is
sentimental for Edna. When Adele is playing the piano it stirs new feelings and emotions in her. The
children relate to Edna because she sees a form of rebirth as she discovers the world from a child

realistically about the future or the consequences of her actions. Edna and Robert used to have a

Symphonic Wind Band Concert Report
On Friday, February 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., the Division of Music at Bob Jones University presented
the Symphonic Wind Band and performed five pieces. The performance in Stratton Hall at Bob Jones
University was a highlight of the European Travelogue, directed by Dan Turner. The program included
A Moorside Suite by Gustav Holst; Three Revolutionary Marches by Bedrich Smetana; Spring:
Overture for Wind Orchestra by Johan de Meij; Galop, from Genevieve de Brabant by Jacques
Offenbach; Ile de France from Suite Francaise by Darius Milhaud; and Danceries by Kenneth
Hesketh. Each piece was concluded with eager applause and praise.
The concert opened with A Moorside Suite from England; it began quietly accompanied by the
clarinet and saxophone. The tempo started out slowly, then shifted to fast and back again to slow,
throughout the entire piece. There was an appearance of a few soloists including the oboe, clarinet,
and saxophone. This movement ended with the entire orchestra leading to a final chorale that builds to
a fortissimo climax.
The next movement of the concert from Czechoslovakia, Three Revolutionary Marches, began
dramatic with leaps and high range climaxes. The music of this piece perfectly portrays the ... Show

I especially liked, Spring: Overture for Wind Orchestra, because of the rapid and dance like scene. In
addition, I was impressed with the orchestra s ability to perform so favorably with the brilliant soprano
soloist. My least favorite performance of the evening was Danceries. The beginning was enjoyable but
it quickly shifted to excessive refrains and distorted structure of instruments. After hearing these
independent pieces I was able to comprehend and respect the talent of the performers of Bob Jones
University s music division. Overall, the musicians performed an excellent concert and left a lasting

A Personal Philosophy of Education
A personal philosophy of education serves to unify the experience of teaching for the individual. It
provides our students with a professional that understands the context of learning from which their
classroom stems. It also ensures a personal sense of growth: a lifelong process valued by the
profession as a whole. I have combined beliefs from pedagogical, ethical and personally developed
ideas I intend to use as a foundation in creating a nurturing classroom environment. Education could
be defined ad infinitum, but for the purposes of synchronicity I have organized my beliefs in terms of
four elements: enculturation, potential, inspiration and development. The meeting point of these ideas
is the philosophical ideology of existentialist education. As defined by Dr. V.K. Maheshwari (2011),
the origin of existentialism: rejects the existence of any source of objective, authoritative truth about
metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics. Instead, individuals are responsible for determining for
themselves what is true or false, right or wrong, beautiful or ugly. For the existentialist, there exists no
universal form of human nature; each of us has the free will to develop as we see fit. The focus is
entirely student centered, whereas the teacher serves as a guide seeking to educate the whole person.
The goal of such a classroom is to develop a thoughtful, creative, self actualizing adult capable of
rational thought, effective communication and independent

The Reentry Policy Brief Provides
Executive Summary
The Reentry policy brief provides input to the Task Force set up by Florida Governor Rick Scott to
reduce the number of incarcerated juveniles and avoid increasing the already wide racial disparities of
the incarcerated population of juveniles. Most reentry facilities in Florida are run by reentry programs
that were expanded from Transition from Prison to Community (TPC) and Transition from Jail to
Community (TJC) models. Yet these programs appear to not have fully addressed recidivism among
juveniles and are also not tailored to lower the widening racial disparities among the incarcerated
juvenile population. Better evidence based reentry practices are needed to ensure that these programs
are not only effective in discontinuing the cycle of recidivism but also address the disproportionate
minority contact. A growing body of research demonstrates that comprehensive multi dimensional
reentry frameworks increase the chances of reentry programs stopping the cycle of crime among
Florida s juvenile offenders. A comprehensive multi dimensional reentry program refers to a
standardized program that is implemented statewide and which incorporates evidence based practices
such as assessment of needs and risks, individual case planning, and cognitive behavioral
interventions.

The Pros And Cons Of Modern Censorship

Prof. Ferrier Watson
ENGL 1302
Modern Censorship What is censorship? Censorship means the process to examine a work, a piece of
art, etc... in order to suppress or delete any object in it that may seem objectionable or harmful. But
why is there censorship? Writing has always been a risky venture, fraught with ethical, political and
financial pitfalls. If we look at the history of the world writing, we can see that it is filled with
examples of censorship in many aspects ( political, social, personal ) and the authors of those writing
have often risked much for the sake of their written words and for the sake of their readers. So is
censorship right or wrong? To me, however, I think that there is no clear answer to that question, for
censorship has its fair balance of advantages and disadvantages to its certain limit. A lot of people said
censorship is right, cause it keeps the young generation safe from the words that might ruin their mind,
but some said censorship is unnecessary because of it just words and sooner or later all kids will hear
and know what those words mean. In my opinion, some part of censorship is good but it depends on
the limit that is taken and how extreme censorship goes. I do agree with one advantage that most
people also agree about is that censorship helps protects the young, the innocent and the vulnerable. It
is built on the premise that we don t always know what is good for us, we

Analysis Of Weaver In The Landlady
Roald Dahl s short story The Landlady is about Billy Weaver s encounter with the Landlady has an
odd hobby of practicing taxidermy on humans. Billy Weaver becomes one of the victims. He is the
most interesting character because he does not find the landlady s behaviour when he first meets her,

unwanted consequences from judging by appearances.
Billy Weaver is an interesting character because he trusts someone he just meets when there are few

but a representation of naïve people including young children, teenagers and inexperienced members

unwanted consequences such as kidnap, sexual harassment, fraud and death. If Billy Weaver had not

Adr In Family Law Case Analysis
Critically analyse whether ADR methods such as mediation offer a better forum for resolving family
law disputes than the courts, thus providing greater access to justice:
Alternative Dispute Resolution has become one of the most central and significant changes to the
family law system since the 1980 s with the emergence of mediation as an alternative form of
achieving justice. The main form of ADR used in family law is family mediation, and is now known
in Australia as family dispute resolution (FDR). The concept was first introduced as a means to reduce
conflict, improve communication and co parental cooperation, produce better agreements in less time
and expense and lead to more compliance with agreements (Kelly 1996 373). Since the first ... Show

Only 1.5% of ATSI families use the FDR services. The AIFS evaluation of 2006 family law reforms

culturally specific or appropriate services by providers and the lack of trust in mediation services.
Furthermore CALD face many communication barriers and culturally differences. There is clearly
greater need for family dispute practitioners to address issues of cultural competency. The NADRAC
2009 has suggested that culturally appropriate practices are essential to better engage with the local
CALD and ATSI populations. Culturally reflexive practices may help enhance the responsiveness to
cultural contexts of families in dispute resolution. Furthermore employing FDR practitioners, who

Yu Wenzhou Stigma
According to Erving Goffman, stigma is an attribute that makes a person different from others in a
social category, and reduces the person to a tainted or discounted status (134), but any difference
between human beings could be potentially stigmatizing. Anything outside of the ordinary or the
standard, that is, anything that creates a sense of uncertainty can in turn drive people to fear
differences, fear the future, fear the unknown and therefore stigmatize that which is different and
unknown. (Coleman Brown, 155) Then, the question is, would stigma persist if people didn t feel
threatened, inferior, or insecure? In the case of Yu Wenzhou, the Captain of Blue Rain in the Chinese
anime, King s Avatar, it seems that even if the situation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As someone who resides in a group of majority who carries a high standard APM, Wenzhou s
handicap is potentially stigmatizing. Yet, despite Ye Xiu s trash talk, Wenzhou is largely unfazed.
Although his low APM causes Wenzhou mild frustrations, he has the clarity of mind to recognize his
strengths over his weaknesses Wenzhou s ability to analyze (00:10:45 00:11:12) entitles him Master
Tactician and King of Analysis. In fact, his tactical ability was like an all knowing God (Blue, Chapter
338) because he found all the dead angles in the battle and launched a surprise attack against his
opponents. In this instance, it seems like the Chinese society sees disability as something that can be
compensated for, and if the person being stigmatized does not feel inferior, then the stigma would not
affect. As a matter of fact, Wenzhou not only acknowledges his handicap (Blue, 00:11:36 00:11:41),
but he also playfully calls himself a handicapped person (00:11:51 00:11:54) as he challenges Ye Xiu
to a duel. Wenzhou s response and clarity of mind seems to correspond with Coleman Brown s
suggestion that people with low self esteem are more likely to identify and maintain negative
stereotypes. However, it may be more reasonable to consider Wenzhou s disability as a balancing act
rather than a compensation. According to Ye Xiu, the God

Dancer in the Dark Film Review Essay
If I was to reduce my description of Dancer in the dark to one word, it would be daring. Its immediate
effect on me was stronger than that of maybe any other film I ve ever seen. It shook me, stirred my
emotions, made me think and reflect, it disturbed me in the most positive sense of the word and it still
does. Its radical make, boldness and consistency exceeds all expectations and probably everything that
s come before. This is the perfect example of a director s vision uncompromisingly realized.
To be fair, I have to say that Dancer in the dark is one of those films that people either deeply admire

Selma, however, harbours a dark secret. She is afflicted with a hereditary blinding disease that eats
away at her sight as she grows older. She works horrendous hours of every day and night to save up to
pay for an operation that will give her son the chance of a life free of blindness. Selma is saved from
the crushing sadness of her existence by music. Music she hears on the factory floor, the passing train,
echoed footfalls, the air shaft in the wall. Every time she hears or feels a beat she imagines herself
breaking into a spontaneous song and dance routine like she had seen so many times in her childhood.
Any rhythmic sound source is likely to elevate her to the world of musicals. Sounds of her
surroundings are the bass line to an extravagant musical fantasy world, this not only allows her to
break away from the horrors of the situations she finds herself in, but also allows Von Trier to briefly
break away from the confines of his Dogma. As the movie progresses we get to witness her life
crumbling and falling apart around her.
There are many aspects about Dancer in the Dark that make it stand out so distinctly. Relating to the
songs, the first phrase that came to my mind after seeing the film was: a musical for people who
dislike musicals. The whole mood and depressing atmosphere formed a contrast to what we think of
when we hear musical. In addition, the songs were not embedded realistically in the film (that s

Culturally, Disney cannot force itself on another people, which in this case was the whole of the
European continent. Disney promoted its product, the theme park, similar to that of Tokyo Disneyland
believing Europe wanted their piece of Americana .
In the marketing sense, we speak of identifying the needs and wants of the consumer. The package
presented by Disney to the customer met neither of these. Disney cannot control the environment!
True success lies in adapting oneself to the surrounding culture, being marketing oriented is finding
success in customer satisfaction. Disney fails on both counts. Cultures are dynamic and change occurs
when resistance slowly yields to acceptance so the basis for resistance becomes unimportant or
forgotten [2]. Which means that on the part of the European community we are certain to see
compromise, but over a period of time. Disney too has to reconcile with the environment it has settled
in. We read in the case that Disney does ultimately mend its ways. Making room for continuous
change is the best way to go about ones business.

People have wondered what it s like to be part of the huge tourist population that come from all over

Observation And Experimentation Of Observation
Observation is both an act and a remark made about an issue of interest. It is the process of close
monitoring of an occurrence for some given reasons, scientific or not. It is also the information
gathered from the monitoring process. In any scientific study, certain steps have to be followed. There
has to be observation/experimentation for any hypothesis to be formed and tested. It all starts from the
experimentation stage where close observations are made. Scientists rely mostly on observation in its
many forms in order to gain evidence during their studies. Nevertheless, the observational evidence is
majorly theory laden. The anticipation is based on past theories such that their aim is to agree with a
learnt theory or to reject it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If In any cases the observations are laden in any way, then there is a threat to science. Studies have
shown that perception can be influenced by theories. The theories can therefore control the
observation from the initial stages up to the end. Once the perception is theory based rather than the
real observation at hand, the attention to the process, how the observer comprehend the process and
later interpret the results has an effect to the scientific process(science). The findings could be
interpreted in the right and best way possible but their credibility depend on how the observations
were collected. If they were biased, then their credibility is low and unreliable.
Observation mainly involve seeing . Certain theories need observational support to be scientifically
accepted. Observational support is further applied when comparing two theories that might closely
explain a similar topic. Scientists make conclusions based on what they see which is further
influenced by on their beliefs. Despite that two people observing the same thing, their conclusions
might vary. This makes it hard when deciding which theory is better, observation technique isn t the
better way. Its dependence on the observers perspective stand in the way of making the right choice.

  • 2. Reflection Paper On Rmsel Family Greetings fellow RMSEL civilians, I am Dinara for those who didn t know me. And today, I would like to talk about our little RMSEL community. Our RMSEL community is wonderful, it is full of compassion, comfort, social acceptance, you name it. I have always dreamed of a little world with all of these components, and here I am today in that little world; my dream has come true. But, there is always going to be a problem in this little world that we all live in, and that problem is that we can get sad pretty easily. That sadness can get carried off to others all around us, it becomes contagious and dreadful, we can get all these different kinds of emotions just from this sadness. And sometimes our little community falls apart just because of that vile, cancerous sadness. As RMSEL citizens, we have to get rid of this sadness, we have to overcome this sadness before it is too late. When I first came to RMSEL in 6th grade, I felt uncomfortable with my surrounding others. I didn t recognize anyone s faces and I didn t feel welcomed. But, I didn t give up, I came to this school because I wanted to achieve in becoming a better person. So I tried to make myself comfortable with the school s system, I asked questions to the students on how the system is like for this school. They gave me answers, and I became more and more aware of the school. The students told me everything, but usually in a traditional school, the explanation on the school s system would be written on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Dual Language Service Experience Paper Experiencing anything new is always a step outside of my comfort zone, and with this project in particular whether it was going to someone else s church or bringing them to mine. I felt confident when it came to going to someone else s church, because I had a sense of what to expect and felt as though I knew enough about the environment. However, when it came to bringing someone to my church I did not feel that same sense of confidence. I have a primary church(full member), and I have another church that is smaller and more family like. I chose to bring my guest(Andrew H) to my smaller church, because the size would not have been has impactful as well as they do a dual language service(haitian creole english). I also chose to attend Andrew s church, because i somewhat of the culture there but I wanted to learn more. Saturday, November 27 I attended Braintree SDA Church, and it was quite different from what I am used to. Those leading the service and those participating in it have more interaction than I am used to. When it came to worship there was a designated book in the pews and a list of hymns in the program for you to follow along. I was not used to retaining the music like that. Usually, the worship team will call it out and one will see it on the monitors. The lyrics will be shown on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is usually a call to worship meaning the worship team will say a few words to get people s mind into the right state of worship. The music and worship as a whole as a way sending this optimistic yet reflectional vibe. Whereas, at the church I visited there was not a sense of that. I was with my friends so I naturally felt positive, but I did not feel pulled into the worship. The congregation felt as though it was detached from the worship team As though they were singing and the congregation was being dragged along. I did not feel an emotional gravitational ... However; this type of advanced camera was nonexistent during the renaissance when photographers were using camera obscuras to project inverted images of the things that were outside the of the obscura. It wasn t until the 19th century that the development of the chemical needed to capture an actual image became available. Even though people were now able to photograph, the lengthy process that it took to register a single image made photography nearly impossible. For instance, Joseph Nicéphore Niépce took more than 6 hours to capture the first photographs ever taken. During the 19th century, there were several technological improvements that made photography a more convenient task. Some of these improvements included the daguerreotype process invented in 1839 by photographer Louis Daguerre. This invention allowed photographers to capture images with shorter exposure to light thus, creating longer lasting photographs. A few years later, a man by the name of William Henry Fox Talbot invented the calotype process which allowed several copies of an image to be produced using a negative paper image. • 6. Private Property Benefit Analysis The topic I have decided to explore from this week s reading is the assertion that private property rights are a barrier to economic growth. I agree that having a well documented and enforceable system is necessary in protecting one s personal property rights, however the reading seems to believe that landowners are disadvantaged because they cannot secure loans against their property. In the reading, it is reported that Egypt has $240 billion dollars tied up in what he refers to as dead capital . (De Soto, 2000). While I agree that a reform in the registration of land ownership would be a positive move to protect the property rights of individuals, I believe that giving out loans to impoverished people is not a pathway to prosperity, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Outside of the obvious environmental concerns, one prime example is the controversial Keystone XL pipeline proposal in the United States. The path of this pipeline would cut right through the properties of many landowners in Texas. Those who did not accept a deal with this company (from the landowner s perspective, this is a foreign company. TransCanada is not based in the United States) were taken to court where the tyrannical practice of eminent domain was invoked to force them to comply. Why own land? Why pay taxes if a foreign interest can just take your property because they want it? This affront to property rights does not get media coverage. The people who are at risk of having their rights violated (with the blessing of the U.S. Government) are everyday people. I think the struggle of the Texas landowners is best framed by the words of Julia Trigg Crawford; We are a Texas family standing up to a foreign company who wants to take our land for what appears to be a profit making endeavor (Mufson, 2012). If property rights cannot be guaranteed in a developed nation, what chance does a developing nation stand of having enforceable property rights? Governing bodies will always side with the financial interests when property rights are at odds with profits. When it comes to the subject of social class, this story reminded me of just about every other book we ve read this semester, in the way they decided to depict the lower class. Both Holmes and Doyle come from a very privileged and educated background, and had a very bad attitude towards anyone from even a slightly lower class, even though they relied on the lower classes to do a lot of things for them. They treated the lower classed people as second class citizens and it really speaks to the time period. For some reason all of our stories have read include upper middle class people who seemed perfect normal on the outside, but had some really weird supernatural or crazy thing happen. Stapleton, being a distant cousin of Sir Henry, has his eye on securing the Baskerville estate for himself, and created all this mess for his selfish benefit: requiring Holmes to deal with not just the physical threat to the Baskerville heir, but also debunk all the fear surrounding the hound. At this time, education was a means of spreading the British language, imposing their religion and just a general mechanism for social control. Between 1910 and 1948, per capita expenditures on white education increased by 263% and African numbers in school plummeted to about 30% (Johnson 1982). The Persian Empire, for one, did not consist of 127 provinces; rather, it only had 20. There are no records of any Persian king giving the order to kill off all of the Jewish population, nor of any Persian king giving the order that the Jews could defend themselves. The sheer number of Persians killed in the Esther , 75,000, is unlikely because there are no historical records of any slaughter that size (Harris 243). On the other hand, scholars believe that the king portrayed in Esther is Xerxes I, so it is possible that at least some of the information involved is based on truth (Harris 242). The knowledge that the author portrays of Persian court and customs also lends to the belief that some of the information is true (Harris 243). It is also possible that a Persian king had a woman of Jewish descent in his large harem , but it is unlikely that such a woman would have been his first wife (Harris 243). It provides our students with a professional that understands the context of learning from which their classroom stems. I have combined beliefs from pedagogical, ethical and personally developed ideas I intend to use as a foundation in creating a nurturing classroom environment. Education could be defined ad infinitum, but for the purposes of synchronicity I have organized my beliefs in terms of four elements: enculturation, potential, inspiration and development. The meeting point of these ideas is the philosophical ideology of existentialist education. As defined by Dr. V.K. The Reentry Policy Brief Provides Executive Summary The Reentry policy brief provides input to the Task Force set up by Florida Governor Rick Scott to reduce the number of incarcerated juveniles and avoid increasing the already wide racial disparities of the incarcerated population of juveniles. Most reentry facilities in Florida are run by reentry programs that were expanded from Transition from Prison to Community (TPC) and Transition from Jail to Community (TJC) models. Yet these programs appear to not have fully addressed recidivism among juveniles and are also not tailored to lower the widening racial disparities among the incarcerated juvenile population. Better evidence based reentry practices are needed to ensure that these programs are not only effective in discontinuing the cycle of recidivism but also address the disproportionate minority contact. A growing body of research demonstrates that comprehensive multi dimensional reentry frameworks increase the chances of reentry programs stopping the cycle of crime among Florida s juvenile offenders. Censorship means the process to examine a work, a piece of art, etc... in order to suppress or delete any object in it that may seem objectionable or harmful. But why is there censorship? Writing has always been a risky venture, fraught with ethical, political and financial pitfalls. If we look at the history of the world writing, we can see that it is filled with examples of censorship in many aspects ( political, social, personal ) and the authors of those writing have often risked much for the sake of their written words and for the sake of their readers. So is censorship right or wrong? To me, however, I think that there is no clear answer to that question, for censorship has its fair balance of advantages and disadvantages to its certain limit. A lot of people said censorship is right, cause it keeps the young generation safe from the words that might ruin their mind, but some said censorship is unnecessary because of it just words and sooner or later all kids will hear and know what those words mean. In my opinion, some part of censorship is good but it depends on the limit that is taken and how extreme censorship goes. I do agree with one advantage that most people also agree about is that censorship helps protects the young, the innocent and the vulnerable. • 26. Yu Wenzhou Stigma According to Erving Goffman, stigma is an attribute that makes a person different from others in a social category, and reduces the person to a tainted or discounted status (134), but any difference between human beings could be potentially stigmatizing. Anything outside of the ordinary or the standard, that is, anything that creates a sense of uncertainty can in turn drive people to fear differences, fear the future, fear the unknown and therefore stigmatize that which is different and unknown. (Coleman Brown, 155) Then, the question is, would stigma persist if people didn t feel threatened, inferior, or insecure? In the case of Yu Wenzhou, the Captain of Blue Rain in the Chinese anime, King s Avatar, it seems that even if the situation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As someone who resides in a group of majority who carries a high standard APM, Wenzhou s handicap is potentially stigmatizing. Yet, despite Ye Xiu s trash talk, Wenzhou is largely unfazed. Although his low APM causes Wenzhou mild frustrations, he has the clarity of mind to recognize his strengths over his weaknesses Wenzhou s ability to analyze (00:10:45 00:11:12) entitles him Master Tactician and King of Analysis. In fact, his tactical ability was like an all knowing God (Blue, Chapter 338) because he found all the dead angles in the battle and launched a surprise attack against his opponents. In this instance, it seems like the Chinese society sees disability as something that can be compensated for, and if the person being stigmatized does not feel inferior, then the stigma would not affect. As a matter of fact, Wenzhou not only acknowledges his handicap (Blue, 00:11:36 00:11:41), but he also playfully calls himself a handicapped person (00:11:51 00:11:54) as he challenges Ye Xiu to a duel. Wenzhou s response and clarity of mind seems to correspond with Coleman Brown s suggestion that people with low self esteem are more likely to identify and maintain negative stereotypes. However, it may be more reasonable to consider Wenzhou s disability as a balancing act rather than a compensation. According to Ye Xiu, the God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its immediate effect on me was stronger than that of maybe any other film I ve ever seen. It shook me, stirred my emotions, made me think and reflect, it disturbed me in the most positive sense of the word and it still does. Its radical make, boldness and consistency exceeds all expectations and probably everything that s come before. This is the perfect example of a director s vision uncompromisingly realized. She is afflicted with a hereditary blinding disease that eats away at her sight as she grows older. She works horrendous hours of every day and night to save up to pay for an operation that will give her son the chance of a life free of blindness. Selma is saved from the crushing sadness of her existence by music. Music she hears on the factory floor, the passing train, echoed footfalls, the air shaft in the wall. Every time she hears or feels a beat she imagines herself breaking into a spontaneous song and dance routine like she had seen so many times in her childhood. Any rhythmic sound source is likely to elevate her to the world of musicals. Sounds of her surroundings are the bass line to an extravagant musical fantasy world, this not only allows her to break away from the horrors of the situations she finds herself in, but also allows Von Trier to briefly break away from the confines of his Dogma. As the movie progresses we get to witness her life crumbling and falling apart around her. There are many aspects about Dancer in the Dark that make it stand out so distinctly. Relating to the songs, the first phrase that came to my mind after seeing the film was: a musical for people who dislike musicals. The whole mood and depressing atmosphere formed a contrast to what we think of when we hear musical. In addition, the songs were not embedded realistically in the film (that s ... True success lies in adapting oneself to the surrounding culture, being marketing oriented is finding success in customer satisfaction. Disney fails on both counts. Cultures are dynamic and change occurs when resistance slowly yields to acceptance so the basis for resistance becomes unimportant or forgotten [2]. Which means that on the part of the European community we are certain to see compromise, but over a period of time. Disney too has to reconcile with the environment it has settled in. It is the process of close monitoring of an occurrence for some given reasons, scientific or not. It is also the information gathered from the monitoring process. In any scientific study, certain steps have to be followed. There has to be observation/experimentation for any hypothesis to be formed and tested. It all starts from the experimentation stage where close observations are made. Scientists rely mostly on observation in its many forms in order to gain evidence during their studies. The theories can therefore control the observation from the initial stages up to the end. The findings could be interpreted in the right and best way possible but their credibility depend on how the observations were collected.
