Ideas
Masthead name ideas –
• Smashed
• Punked
• X
• SRATCH
• Riff
Colour schemes –
• Black, White, Red – used in many other music
magazines, black and white used as main colours and
red to compliment and eye catch as bright
• Black & red, Red stands out against the black and is eye
catching, these colours are typical of the punk genre.
• White and blue, white and blue are bright, they are
quite calm colours though so may not fit the rebellious
style I aim to achieve
Brand Identity –
• Social Media handles
• Web addresses on pages throughout
the magazine
• Consistent house style, fonts and
colours the same throughout so they
become recognised as part of the
brand.
Props
Strapline:
• In new music we trust – Fans of punk music often like
authentic new artists rather that typically
‘mainstream’ artists like One Direction. For this
reason they would be attracted to a magazine which
promotes new artists and “new music”.
• What you really want to hear – Tells the reader that
the magazine is serious and not full of gossip like pop
magazines. “Hear” suggests that the focus is on the
music and the really interesting information rather
than shallow relationship gossip.
Stories –
• Exclusive interviews with popular bands
• Competitions
• Journeys to fame of artists.
• Reviews of concerts, songs, and albums
• Upcoming artists
• Future tour dates
• Music news
