Mobile bridges are temporary bridges that can be quickly constructed and dismantled. They are mainly used by the military and for emergency/disaster relief situations. There are three main types: dry support bridges that can span 46 meters and support 120 tons; medium girder bridges that can span from 9.8 to 76 meters; and air portable ferry bridges that can span 29.2 meters. Mobile bridges provide flexibility and are useful for countries prone to natural disasters as they can be pre-positioned and rapidly deployed when needed.
