This document presents a microcontroller-based system for monitoring and controlling a distribution transformer substation. The system measures voltage, current and temperature and can shut down the transformer if any parameters peak. It allows for remote monitoring to avoid power losses and quick repairs. While costly and bulky, future implementations could use GPRS to send data anywhere and integrate with smart meters. The conclusion states this design makes the distribution more secure, reliable and efficient.

This is a modern technique of Monitoring of switchyard which is used in many other countries.
It will be useful for reducing requirement of manpower.
When a fault occurred a SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number detailing about type of fault and location of fault.
Microwave backhaul plays an important role in providing a good user experience and overall network performance. The backhaul capacity needed per base station differs substantially, depending on target data rates and population density.
Microwave backhaul technology is able to handle 100 percent of all radio access sites’ capacity needs. This is true for today as well as in 2020, when it will evolve to support multi-gigabit capacities in traditional frequency bands and beyond 10 gigabits in the millimeter wave.

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and SCADA SystemsLiving Online
SCADA has traditionally meant a window into the process of a plant and/or a method of gathering of data from devices in the field. Today the focus is on integrating this process data into the actual business and using it in real time. In addition to this, today’s emphasis is on using open standards, such as communication protocols (e.g. IEC 60870, DNP3 and TCP/IP) and 'off-the-shelf' hardware and software, as well as focusing on keeping the costs down. PLCs continue to gain in popularity. In fact, many SCADA applications use PLCs as the RTU of choice, when communicating with field devices. This comprehensive workshop covers the essentials of SCADA and PLC systems, which are often used in close association with each other.
A selection of case studies are used to illustrate the key concepts with examples of real world working SCADA and PLC systems in the water, electrical and processing industries. This workshop will be an excellent opportunity to network with your peers, as well as to gain significant new information and techniques for your next SCADA/PLC project.
Although the emphasis of the workshop will be on practical industry topics highlighting recent developments, using case studies, the latest application of SCADA, PLC technologies and fundamentals will be covered. The workshop is aimed at those who want to be updated on the latest developments in SCADA and PLC systems and wish to gain a solid appreciation of the fundamentals of their design, installation and troubleshooting.
This workshop is designed to benefit you with practical up-to-date information on the application of PLC and SCADA systems to the automation and process control industries. It is suitable for people who have little or no exposure to PLCs, but expect to become involved in some or all aspects of PLC and SCADA installation. It aims to give practical advice from experts in the field, to assist you to correctly plan, program and install a PLC with a shorter learning curve and more confidence. While the workshop is ideal for electricians, technicians and engineers who are new to PLCs, much of the material covered will be of value to those who already have some basic skills, but need a wider perspective for larger and more challenging tasks ahead.

Multiparty Access Control For Online Social Networks : Model and Mechanisms.Kiran K.V.S.
• Online social networks (OSNs) have experienced tremendous growth in recent years and become a de facto portal for hundreds of millions of Internet users.
• While OSNs allow users to restrict access to shared data, they currently do not provide any mechanism to enforce privacy concerns over data associated with multiple users.
• To this end, we propose an approach to enable the protection of shared data associated with multiple users in OSNs.
• We formulate an access control model to capture the essence of multiparty authorization requirements, along with a multiparty policy specification scheme and a policy enforcement mechanism.
Wavelet Based Analysis of Online Monitoring of Electrical Power by Mobile Tec...IJMER
Electrical automation is an important option for obtaining optimal solution while monitoring the electrical power consumption. While using the conventional methods the errors in continuous monitoring of power consumption is more. But the system requires not only the monitoring of the energy but also requires the analysis of the monitored energy. In this paper wavelet analysis is used for the analysis of the monitored energy/power which is monitored by GPRS technology. By using the GPRS mobile technology the energy consumption is monitored continuously and the observed data is interfaced to the computer by RS 232 port. By using MATLAB the monitored data is processed to obtain in depth analysis of the monitored power. The proposed method not only monitors the data but also provides efficient means to analyze the observed data by Wavelet Transform
FIRE DETECTION AND ELETRICAL POWER ON/OFF CONTROL IN HOME/INDUSTRY USING GSM ...Saikiran perfect

FIRE DETECTION AND ELETRICAL POWER ON/OFF CONTROL IN HOME/INDUSTRY USING GSMSaikiran Perfect
The idea behind this project is to use the existing GSM infrastructure. So, all the operations involve the GSM system also. As we send any SMS, it goes through the GSM system. Any sent SMS can be received if we use a SIM card and GSM module. To operate any GSM modem, we have to use the AT commands to operate them. For example, if any SMS arrives the GSM modem sends the serial data in ASCII format. We can read these data if we connect the modem with the serial port of the microcontroller at the baud rate of 9600. As the microcontroller comes to know that a SMS has been arrived, it can sent a proper AT command to read the SMS. The reading of SMS returns the mobile number of sender, the time and much more information. We have to select the SMS part of the message. The starting string of the SMS is used as the password. As the password is matched, then the SMS arrival is assumed to be valid by the microcontroller otherwise, it ignores the SMS. Working of “FIRE DETECTION AND ELETRICAL POWER ON/OFF CONTROL IN HOME/INDUSTRY USING GSM” is very simple.
A remote monitoring system for a three phase 10-kva switchable distribution t...eSAT Journals
Abstract A Remote Monitoring System plays an important role in many applications. This paper proposes an innovative design about the development of remote monitoring system for a three-phase 10-kVA Switchable Distribution transformer with the help of a PIC microcontroller and Zigbee-based Wireless device. The PIC microcontroller from microchip helps in controlling the switching devices and monitoring the current, voltage and temperature of the transformer. The Zigbee-based wireless device is used as long range wireless communication between the modules. The information is transmitted point by point using Zigbee transmitter and receiver and is sent to the server module to check the state of the transformer. It has a data rate speed of 250 Kbps with minimum power consumption and has a transmission distances range from 10 to 100m. The data transmission rate is higher than other wireless systems. This is user friendly and can be achieved at low cost. This handles the transfer of parameters such as voltage, current and temperature as digital data from current transducers, voltage transformers and from temperature sensors to the server module through wireless communication. This system helps in reading sensor, controlling switches, monitoring and data protection. Key Words: Switchable Transformer, PIC Microcontroller and Zigbee

3. ADVANTAGES
Remote monitoring to avoid further power loss and time.
Whole system can be shut down for quick repairs and re-installations.
Low maintenance .
Fair efficiency.

5. FUTURE SCOPE & PLAN
This project can be implemented by using GPRS technology so that
captured data can be send anywhere in the world.
We can turn it to a “Smart Energy Meter” by which electricity parameters
along with cost calculation can be monitored by the user by GSM or GPRS
so they can minimize their electricity uses to optimum level.
6. CONCLUSION
In this project we have presented a design of a system based on AVR microcontroller
that is used to monitor and control the voltage, current and temperature of a
distribution transformer by shutting it down.
This claims that the proposed design of the system makes the distribution
transformer more robust against some key power quality issues which makes the
voltage, current or temperature to peak. Hence the distribution is made more secure,
reliable and efficient by means of the proposed system.
